The King James Version (KJV), commonly known as the Authorized Version (AV) or King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611. First printed by the King's Printer Robert Barker, this was the third translation into English to be approved by the English Church authorities. The first was the Great Bible commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII, and the second was the Bishops' Bible of 1568. In January 1604, King James I convened the Hampton Court Conference where a new English version was conceived in response to the perceived problems of the earlier translations as detected by the Puritans, a faction within the Church of England.
James gave the translators instructions intended to guarantee that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy. The translation was done by 47 scholars, all of whom were members of the Church of England. In common with most other translations of the period, the New Testament was translated from Greek, the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew text, while the Apocrypha were translated from the Greek and Latin. In the Book of Common Prayer (1662), the text of the Authorized Version replaced the text of the Great Bible – for Epistle and Gospel readings – and as such was authorized by Act of Parliament. By the first half of the 18th century, the Authorized Version was effectively unchallenged as the English translation used in Anglican and Protestant churches. Over the course of the 18th century, the Authorized Version supplanted the Latin Vulgate as the standard version of scripture for English speaking scholars. Today, the most used edition of the King James Bible, and often identified as plainly the King James Version, especially in the United States, closely follows the standard text of 1769, edited by Benjamin Blayney at Oxford.

I don’t know. I like the app but there is no way to remove the ads that’s why I rated it three I’ll give a better rating when there is a way too upgrade
Usage. The page layout is fantastic and the on screen book marker makes it easy to pick up where you stop and the red letter are a nice touch! Turning the pages with a finger swipe is great also

Navigation, navigation, navigation.. This is a well designed application with very easy navigation. Frankly, it’s the best of four I’ve tried.
A Godsend!. A Godsend! I am so thankful for this Bible. On my iMac I use an Interlinear because I read a significant amount of Biblical Hebrew as well. This app/Bible, (used on my iPhone), however is my go-to Bible, if in the field, sometimes at night aside my bed, and sometimes in parallel with multiple programs online. I use many translations, and my main analog bible is a Notetaker’s Bible with supple cover by Local Church Bible Publishers. Am studying this moment from this Bible ap offline on a Mesa over the ocean. Felt I should be grateful enough to write a thankful review!

God’s Word. For what ads are there, they are small and not annoying. Only drawback is the inability (could be my mistake) to go to next Chapter easily. It great site to read the Kings James version of God’s Word!

The Word of God is all We need in this broken world. Bible offline is the best way to stay in touch with the Heavenly Father even in a busy day. God can still talk to you even when you are trying to run away from Him. Since I have this app- everyday I have something new that God wants me to know. And I feel very strong inside me everyday because I know what God said- what is the truth- no matter what reality my physical eyes can see- my spiritual eyes know what the truth is. From a learner. I love its operating simplicity. It makes sense. I appreciate listening to the reader and how to adjust the voice height and speed. I haven’t figured out how to adjust its volume. One thing more I wish it had is the ability when searching out a subject that it would be able to take me back to my subject search without having to type in the subject words again.… maybe to where I left off.
My review. It’s a very good bible it works without data’s and Wi-Fi so I think that’s a plus I didn’t give it a five star because I think it should have a history to see what chapter and verses you have viewed

Should be called "red letter edition.". Wonderful Bible app. The words from Jesus are in red. my app is called the off-line Bible but I wish the name was red letter since I reference many other Bibles. The red letters set this edition apart. thank you for making this version.
Love it!. So far I'm really liking this app for the Bible. I like how it gives you a verse of the day, gospel of the day and Psalm of the day. And you can highlight, bookmark, make notes and share the verses.

Search. I think most everyone is familiar with the ‘sermon on the mount’. Seems this Bible is not. It found zero results with search. Thus three stars. 95% of the searches I have tried come back with zero results. Might want to look into that. Other than the search thing or lack thereof I use this a lot. Side by side with the amplified version.

Jesus. I’ve enjoyed using the red letter addition just to read everything that Jesus spoke. The way I see it is if I read everthing Jesus was interested in. Then I should be able to understand him a little better.

Bible Offline. Everything is wonderful! My only suggestion would be to have another option where l can choose from different Reading Plans to read the entire Bible..unless it already is here but l just don’t see it? Other than this, kudos to you! Thank you!

Best KJV App. I love it because it is offline. Settings allow white font on black screen and it has voice where I can listen!
Convenient and works well without wifi, but... At the top of page it has a "no ads" symbol. When wifi is available, it DOES get ads on the bottom of the page. No ugly ones yet.
Online Bible. Great to have for when you are on the go and traveling. Also handy when out at a restaurant etc and you want took up a verse quickly. Really easy to search for words when you can’t remember where they are. Heather1087

KJV. This has terrible pronunciation problems. Not just with difficult Biblical names, but simple English words in honor which, for example, is pronounced with a hard “h”. This is one of many such examples. I find it rather distracting.
