Great App, Too Much Trump. Great app--it functions and looks marvelous. Only issue I have is the inordinate number of articles on Trump--nearly all of which are negative opinion pieces. I voted for Hilary, and yet the barrage of these articles is even beginning to annoy me.

Good content, bad interface. The quality of reporting and articles are great. My complaint is the interface is very outdated. The website has many graphics, photos and color in general. This is basically just the text. It also lacks a search feature. I’d like to read on the go and possibly receive notifications via the app not just through email. I’ll have to stick to the website until they update this very basic app. I also noticed there has been only a handful of updates in the last few years, FP obviously is not focused on the app’s quality.

Needs UI/UX improvements. Quality content but the app needs work - especially for how expensive a subscription is. Its not terrible or unstable but it feels old and sluggish with a poor use of screen real estate, barely passing for a typical news app from 5 years ago. Now that that the bar for what passes as a solid news app is higher (looking at you The Economist, WSJ, NYT, Atlantic, Guardian, etc) I would hope they update their UI/UX to keep with the times. I find myself doing most of my FP reading on their website because of this.

Amazing app, amazing journalism!. FP is an absolutely amazing magazine, and is a perfect example of top notch journalism! The in-app subscription is definitely worth it, because I can get on the app and read 5 articles in one setting!!! The app itself works great, I just truly wish it came with larger text and dark/night mode!! But still deserves 5 stars!!

Excellent policy interpretations. I am a new member of FP after being a member of quite a few others....I find the analysis and reporting to be most interesting and helpful to understanding major topics and trends.

Intelligent perspectives and news that drive the global conversation. If you’re interested in geopolitics, you need to read FP

Easy and convenient. Great app design that enables you to use your digital subscription to keep up with all the articles and opinions of the writers at FP

Fantastic update. The update was long overdue, but FP finally has an app that matches the quality of its content!

High quality analysis and commentary. FP is one of the best publications out there for world affairs, with a broad array of perspectives and expertise. From Pulitzer-winning war correspondents to widely regaled academics, the pieces that offer personal perspectives or insights all start at very credible sources. Despite that, I never find the publication dry. And the app is well made to give a casual reader a taste of 5 articles monthly -- although I think you'll be quickly sucked in and become a subscriber if this type of content is at all for you!

Great content, abysmal app. Obviously I enjoy FP content enough to purchase it. But where is the app functionality?? It's hardly usable. ZERO article search function--you have to comb through topics to find articles. Favoriting articles takes way too many taps. There is no syncing of favorited articles between multiple logged-in devices. This app is so bad I'm astonished FP would release it like this

Great app. A wonderful way to get a quick dose of international politics. The articles are short yet still manage to explore often complex subjects. The interface is straight forward and presents everything you'll need when using the app.

Clear concise and easy to navigate. I use this daily for updates, simple to use and read with fantastic content.

Great app. I really like FP because it covers so much that gets left out of regular news and has awesome in-depth articles. I have subscriptions to 3 news apps and this is one of them (I also chose the option with the print magazine because it's a really good magazine).

Great articles, could improve user interface on the app.. Great articles of substance from writers with subject matter expertise. The app interface is horrible for 2018, though. I’d love the ability to share articles I find interesting on social media platforms from within the FP app, but it’s impossible. If the interface were up to 2018 standards, would definitely be worth 5 stars.

Great resource and balanced. This is the only news source I pay for. Couple the app with the ER podcast and this might be the best analysis of the current administration without the mainstream cruft.

Fantastic App. This is definitely one of my go to news sources. Well written and informative! Intuitive app design lends itself to readers who like to dive deeper into sources and related articles cited in news stories. Well done FP.

Enables my understanding. This app creates the platform to grasp the underpinnings of policy and news developments. I don't suddenly have a day to figure out the meaning of something that happened in the world. This app and Foreign Policy have allowed me to use small blocks time to gain understanding.

I like it but…. It’s a great app and I’ve been reading FP on and off since the 90’s. I just got an email they are bumping me from 60 for a year to 199….It’s good but not enough content to justify a tripling of my cost.

Excellent, Dependable App. Really can't find faults with this one. It responds quickly and provides up-to-date converage of the wide range of subjects typical of Foreign Policy Magazine.

Good source. To those who look for true news, this is the right place

Why can’t I access the contents??. I subscribed to FP on my iPad. I would like to access the app through my phone, but it doesn’t work. So I tried re-joining, but it says my e-mail account is alredy in the system and asks that I go to the manage subscription page. I go there and it takes me back to the create account page. Wut?? I e-mailed the customer service but I have no reply. As of now I’m waiting for my subscription to end. Anyhow I’m very frustrated at what’s going on. Otherwise I’m satisfied with the app and the contents.

Unable to sign in to my account. Sign in is functional on web version but not app. Customer service reset my password which did not fix the problem. I can not access the feedback tab in app because I cannot sign in.

Can’t turn off dark mode. The app is great. I like dark mode on my phone a lot, but I don’t like reading articles in dark mode. Almost all apps have the ability to turn dark mode on/off independently of iPhone system settings, and that ability would be greatly appreciated for the FP app.

Real News. I love Foreign Policy for their factual reporting. It's nice to read news that isn't hyperpartisan like MSNBC or Fox News. The app also works extremely well and find myself reading articles whenever I have free time.

Indispensable Resource. I am so happy with Foreign Policy. Finally, a place to find insightful reporting on world issues! It is my go-to reading every day.

Excellent App. I have always loved FP, and the app is a great way to view the content. I recommend the FP app to anyone who would like to expand their knowledge and viewpoints of foreign affairs.

Weak app, great publication. Foreign policy magazine is great. But this app is not a magazine. It’s not even a browser. It’s a feed. It gives you articles in more or less chronological order. No headlines, no searching, no customization. Also, no offline reading (New Yorkers like this on subways! And everyone likes it on airplanes!). You’re better off reading FP on a browser. I love good reading apps (NYT, New Yorker). This is not one of them.

Excellent range of information. Hi FP I have had the app for almost two years and have found it a great platform for getting information. The opinions and insight offer by the contributors is wide ranging and challenges my preconceptions on various issues. In this day and during these times I feel it more important than ever to get information from various sources. Doing so helps me become a better citizen for our country.

Don’t like visuals .. I can’t figure out how to change font size and it seems like it’s always in night mode. Makes it very hard to read for me. Not sure if I’m just missing anything but I’ve looked around and can’t find a solution.

Great news source. Great interface good articles few problems

App is Fantastic. Haven't yet validated the quality of the content yet; as a fiscal conservative, I'm politically neutral and prefer to have my news unbiased, so I came here seeking an alternative to the WP and WSJ; so I'm a new subscriber on that front... BUT, I can definitely say, the quality of the app is superior for sure. The only thing that would be nice, is to be able to highlight certain aspects of an article, like I used to be able to in other apps with subscriptions at this high of a price point. It's not cheap to subscribe at approx $27/mo USD, esp if you go through iTunes, but fair news and a solid app without a crap-ton of ads is more important to me than Starbucks; so hey, to each - their own.

Poor App, OK Content. I got the app because I usually read the magazine but lose it before finishing (if you ride the Metro Red Line, maybe it’ll be your lucky day). The app is very basic and doesn’t have iPhone X support yet. Not terrible, just not polished. Sometimes I find that the app stories are published very quickly and contain typos. Good writing, just maybe give your copy editor some more coffee.

Great content poor UI/UX. Hi FP, Been a subscriber for over 10 years on and off. And while I love the content and always appreciate the in-depth reporting and FP analysis; the iOS App is a poor platform for displaying your great works. The FP website is much better. The app lacks any decent elastic search capability, the fact I cannot look up articles by title or author easily is disturbing for a 2018 media-based app. My “starred”/saved articles seem to disappear without notice when I review them. The processing and loading of articles is timely nothing like my other media apps such as NY times , Wash Post, WSJ, or Medium. There are a lot of UI lessons to be learned from those for FP app. The ability to subscribe only by defined topics instead of user defined is also a poor way to push info to user. Simple topics like “intelligence” or “security cooperation” don’t appear to exist. The ability for user defined tags to articles would also be a benefit to the app. And help crowd source your search engine and parameters. Also the app doesn’t appear to display the amazing graphics from the website and magazine for which FP is famous. A lack of info graphics and save them to a user’s device seems like a necessary fix for any media app. Again FP’s content is amazing but how it is disseminated in the app is disappointing. I look forward to app updates and am hoping the app catches up with the highly renown website and magazine. Cheers

Great way to start the day. Very informative. Seems like things are reported here before making its way to mainstream news.

Ads in App?. Love the content. Very disappointed to endure ads inside a paid subscription. Difficult to read thoughtful articles with this distraction!

Broken in Dark Mode. I have my phone I dark mode and I can't read half of the articles because they appear in black text on a black background... I can read them if I copy-paste the text into a different app like Notes but that is ridiculous.

Great reporting. I read it and enjoy it daily. It is the first thing I read when I get up and the last of my read before I go to bed.

Great app.. Have had this app for just over a year. Cannot find a more in-depth & erudite exploration of the sociopolitical arena, one without bias or vilification. Appreciate your efforts.

App great for old people.... But not for us younger folks! The UI is MASSIVE and only fits two stories on a screen, which is especially bad on my iPhone 11. I feel like it treats me like I’m blind. Please give us the option to make things smaller and fit more on a page. All the buttons are awkwardly sized and make me think it’s a poor quality port from older, smaller iPhones. The bottom navigation bar is useless. Feels like it was done by a single programmer quickly, rather than by a professional. This review is for the APP not the content.

Love FP - App is okay. As long as I can read FP articles on-the-go, I’m happy. However, the iOS app is not very user friendly and easily navigable. More category features would be useful. Nonetheless, I have not experienced any faulty issues and happy to use the app - content is great.

App needs curation. Love the content and remain a proud subscriber to FP but this app lacks the curation I think an app that covers a lot of ground needs. The website is a far better choice to peruse through on an iPhone, as of the time of writing. Keeping it installed to see if it improves in time.

Balanced Reporting. I have been very impressed with the style and substance of the reporting that goes into this News outlet! And written above the 8th grade level. lol And frankly the only news outlet whose podcast I've listen to! In an environment where news media can and have tried to influence and resist the orderly peaceful transition of power in our government this organization has stayed true to our forefathers vision! While definitely not in anyone's bag! I ready it daily

Great!!. Fantastic convenient and quick app that has quality articles!

Excellent analysis. Offers perspectives that are either hard to find elsewhere, or that make an excellent complement to other sources.

Could be better. I rate it 4 stars because the issues and ideas are critical information, but the app can definitely be improved. Make it more like the New York Times, perhaps even allow comments. Improve the app and make it easier for people to like it and subscribe!

Informative, but no audio. Great news. They took off free access from their website. I wish they had podcasts or videos

Allow users to change fonts. Hi I really love your work. I wish you would add a functionality which would allow the user to change the text fonts. It would be good for people with bad vision. Thanks

Nigh on useless. I love this publication. But the app is frustratingly sparse. Articles I find in Twitter don’t appear in the app where I can save for reading later. The search function doesn’t yield the name of an author who published an article today. It doesn’t yield the subject of that article in anything written after 2018. When I open the app with multiple notification badges, it doesn’t indicate which articles triggered the alert. Every menu lists the same four uninformative options containing the same content. Must do better.

Great way to read FP. Great user interface, great journalism, excellent use of my phone's hard drive space. One feature that would definitely improve my experience - and I don't know if anyone on FP's staff reads these things - would be the ability to access the Morning Brief in the app (like SitRep) rather than only through the daily email blast.

Great news. I enjoy foreign policy stuff anyway. But I generally learn something new whenever I read the articles or have a better understanding.

Highly recommended. Check out FPs podcast while you're at it 🌞 you just might get a free mug if the stars align

FP has become more of a news paper.. Greatest source of knowledge and info. However, FP delved a lot on current news instead of writing articles.

FP. Good analysis my wife and I both enjoy. Generally balanced and very well written.

FP has gone from worse to worse, very partisan indeed. Cannot endure FP any longer it’s now just as bad as Time Magazine, ending my subscription after 10years, very disappointing

Always a good source. Foreign Policy is a great resource for policywonks and analysts. Highly recommend it especially to IR students.

Excellent reading. Terrific insights into the possible dying days of US as world power. Definitely track down the FR ER podcast. I am totally addicted. David is absolutely right ;)

Great read. Topical and incisive. Thanks.

Informative cross-spectrum opinions on foreign policy.. With content that is of both a high standard and having views from sides, makes this a must have for any foreign policy junkie. However that lack of a comment section does detract slightly from the app in a functionality sense; however it isn’t necessary in my opinion.

Serouis magazine. Bright look on the news, great analysis

Can’t change font size. Hi, please add the option to change the font size on the app.

Does what it promises. Great simple app for fantastic journal

Great content, awful user interface. I love FP, the content it produces is regularly of excellent quality and I really enjoy sitting down to dig into their broad and deep coverage. However, using the remodeled app is an almost always infuriating experience. The aesthetic is beautiful, an improvement over the old app design visually, but it’s glitchy and choppy essentially all the time. Scrolling through articles frequently requires the app to resize text in the middle of reading, which disjoints the reading experience and gets frustrating quickly. Large, feature pieces almost always cause the app to reload its stream from the top, so you lose your place when you’re finished a feature. This happens with all articles when I change to a different app and then back to FP, and gets old quickly. Additionally , sometimes the app simply won’t load content older than a few days. While this usually sorts itself out over time, it means I can’t use the app for long stretches and have to keep checking and reloading until it works. It’s annoying. Again, I don’t have have a single complaint about the content FP produces. They’re an amazing publication I love to read, and would recommend to anyone. But the new app needs work, fast. It’s prettier than the old one they used to have, which is great haha but functionally its not easy or fun to use.

Great content and a much improved app.. Great content and a much improved app.

Garbage. Not worth two dollars.. Lowest expectations = not met. You’re charging a luxury price for a garbage product. Is it worse than paying for “The Economist”? No. But you’re basically paying for a garbage podcast (worse than what you can get for free from dozens of sources, including radio) and a blog format (text only) app interface, with quality worse than what you can get for free, again, from dozens of sources (including newspapers). Editorially, better than The Economist, but more than 1 article in 5 is just garbage that should not have gone to press at all (most often crude propaganda, occasionally sophomoric opinion pieces written from sincere ignorance). I’d take a refund if one were offered.

Not fake truth. Sometimes irreverent, always cutting, realist look at the fortress North American extremists we face today. This is worth your time. At least we know there are some sane pragmatic people out there.

Features missing. Needs: - offline reading - full article contents including tags and “read more” section Great content though. App needs to live up to it.

Do. App simply doesn't work. Not even a little...

Second to none for the news. The articles are awesome and the news coverage is spot on but there’s a lot of things you can do on the site that you can’t do in the app

Articles are great, app not so much. I think the add should have more features, if possible. Especially for those who subscribe to FP

Great analysis - difficult typeface. I really enjoy reading the wide array of analysis that FP provides - and do so on my iPhone. Unfortunately I find the typeface and font size difficult to read and wish I could adjust these.

Great app BUT. Why does the Push Notification setting every night??? This is so bothersome - please fix!

Quality reading. A1

Refreshing change from polemics!. Thoughtful and insightful analysis! Interesting and well informed perspectives! A good read!

Paid sub wants more. When you pay for a subscription it leaves quite a bad taste in the mouth when the app asks for more money to read an article. Good magazine but not good enough that I’ll renew. Main reason for skipping renewal is begging for money. I paid my subscription don't ask me to pay more when I land on certain articles. Tasteless.

Disappointed It’s not Optimized for iPhone X. FP is amazing, but the app is not optimized for the iPhone resolutions making the app feel dated. I will continue to read in Safari.

Great app on the phone. Access to FP articles anywhere on the go. Enjoyable experience!

Excellent. Informative. High quality

Great writing, terrible app.. Foreign Policy remains one of my favorite news sources, however, this app is trash. Nearly impossible to navigate, and with a limited search function, this app does not do FP justice.

must pay for content. The app is free but you must pay for access to any content.

Best in class. Not like other political appS Gem of my appS

THANK YOU. the redesigned app is much appreciated!!!

Thank you. Thank you FP for excellent articles covering reporting on and meaningful analysis of various topics.

FP is great!. Or the app is, anyway. The mobile website, not so much -- so the app is a godsend.

Poor app design. The fact this app is not designed to be full screen on iPad blows my mind.

Great read. No complaints!

Text is too small. Great articles but text size is to small. Update to allow users to increase text within articles.

“Sorry! Something went wrong.”. Can’t even sign in to the service I pay for. I’ve tried on multiple networks, triple checked my password, and multiple updates of the app.

Terrible search function… useless even. When I search for the author Stephen M. Walt, I get results from 2009!

No night mode??. One of the most expensive news subscriptions out there and it’s blinding to read at night.

As good as it gets!. The app is witty and updates frequently, as does the in-app content. I want for nothing with this app. Five stars.

Great App. Lots of terrific content updated frequently. Best news app out ther!

No complaints, good news. Best news app i have

FP is the best!. Great user interface and news source! Recommend FP for everyone!

Suitable for academic purpose.. In my hectic schedule, this app gives me the advantage to be informed.

Please support dark mode.. Great content but please consider supporting dark mode. Bright background hurts my eyes.

Something fishy here. It’s common for news and magazines to offer free limited apps that can be upgraded. Foreign Policy allows you to install the app with no indication that you must have an account to use it at all.

Great information source. Well balanced, thoughtful articles that always inform.

Reliable analysis. When you want to know detail and in-depth - I turn to FP

Great sources. I love foreign policy. Great source of information

Weak app. A lot to appreciate and share here. But app is extremely limited.

Beautiful for iPad. I'm a print guy. Always thought electronic not my thing. Perfect format for FP and well executed. Very happy.

Keep it up!. Great journalism, great price!

App always closes the article I’m reading if I leave the app even briefly. The NYT app does not do this. It’s very frustrating and lessens the experience.

Great Content. Insightful content that is needed in today’s talking head world

The Best. Careful, honest analysis is important now more than ever. Great publication and great app.

Great App. Simple and informative. Best way to brush up on significant and current events.

Poor app features. Unable to read offline with it and as a frequent traveler that’s my main time to read. Great pity as the content is so good. Print version is much more useful at this point. Look forward to seeing a lot of improvements for this great resource.

An essential resource!. Should be read regularly by anyone interested in gaining insight into the international political landscape and the effect of U.S. policy on it.

Great content. Love the articles, not loving the app layout.

Review. This is a great site if you are interested in keeping up with politics.

Not good for me. Could it be worse? Opens starts to load and then closes. Over and over again. I supose it could be worse it could not load at all! Not sure if that would be worse or just as bad though.

FP is excellent.. Love the app, plenty of written & visual content, all well organized. The expertise is unmatched.

Review. Fantastic publication. Indispensable for coverage international/domestic issues. Will subscribe until end of time.

Objective and Visually Appealing. The design is visually and functionally appealing. The articles are more objective than emotive and thus invite an understanding that seeks exploration over reactivity.

Awesome app. I really really like this app. The articles are reasonably short and to the point... thank you FP.

Solid news, solid app. Foreign policy is a great place to go for in-depth stories with limited spin.

Big fan. Excellent, accurate, insightful

Great articles- not so great app. The articles and reporting are phenomenal, I'm happy to be a paid subscriber. However, the app sorely needs an update. You can't save articles or set alerts.

Laughable liberals. A majority of the contributors on this are laughable on how far left they lean. I was hoping for a non partisan news source but I guess this is not the source for that.

Paid subscription => Advertisements?. Need to remove ads for paid subscribers

Great content. One does not need to agree to understand that this is well reasoned content

BLUF and descriptive. A great app that is easy to navigate and presents information in a clear manner.

Outstanding!. Analysis is always spot on! Great articles, authors and sources!

A Can't Miss Read. Great source of facts and excellent analysis. Broad enough, but a mile deep.

Please wait! Foreign Policy app comments loading...
