Content Disappeared. I love Foreign Affairs and regularly use the app to read, however lately older articles/magazines have broken links with a “The requested URL was not found on this server” message. I hope this is fixed soon as it makes having a digital subscription (along with print) essentially useless.

Getting a better view. I am enjoying reading about the world and the US relationship to it through the lens of all the great writers at Foreign Affairs. I am getting a better view of situations that impact the US, around the globe that I wouldn’t be getting otherwise. Five stars.

Amazing app, but one issue.. I love that there's a lot of unbiased (for the most part) straightforward articles on this app. I’d appreciate it if you guys could make it so that if I leave the app and come back (without closing the app), it saves where I am in the article instead of taking me back to the top.

Great (but one nitpick). The content is interesting and readable, and the app doesn’t have any serious problems. But I wish that when I left the app in the middle of an article (e.g. to go read additional details on a part of it), it brought me back to where I was instead of taking me back to the top of the article.

The best public resource on International Politics. I have been following the CFR, mostly via Foreign Affairs for years. The opinions of the contributors are always well informed and on point. If you are interested in foreign policy and World events this is what you should be reading. ~Trask

Bad app! Bad customer service!. This app is shameful. It seems to be impossible to login to a current account, even though we have a digital subscription. It asks for the email address for our account, and then it says "this email address is already being used." Yeah, of course it is, I'm not making an account, I'm trying to get login to my account. And I can't get in touch with customer service to get help. When content providers make it hard to access accounts that are paid for, they push consumers to stealing the product.

Could be much more. Works well as a reader for the journal, but navigating in the app is difficult and obtuse. No way to browse all past issues. Search doesn’t allow you to force exact string searching with quotation marks, so it’s practically useless. Searching for back issues with articles on “South China Sea” gives you every instance of south .or. China .or. sea going backwards from today. You have to swipe through dozens of screens to get back past 2018.

Mediocre App. While this app displays content beautifully, you can't enjoy it without struggling with the app's non-intuitive navigation tools. Whether you're trying to browse the library, an issue or an article, you must intuitively understand how to do so with these minimal tools OR divert your attention from the message in order to understand the medium. The Economist's app makes navigation intuitive for all readers. FA app developers: Observe The Economist app, learn from it, and get out of readers' way.

Don’t waste your time trying this App. The App from the App Store has for two days given me a message to ‘try again soon.’ After six calls to customer support and resetting my pass word twice, I am no closer to being able to access my subscription on the iPad. (Maybe this works on the iPhone, but I doubt it.). I suspect the message is disinformation, which is bad practice. I advise staying with the content on the web if you need digital access, at least until they can figure this out. The motto of these developers seems to be, Move Fast and Break Your Face. By the way, what happened to the old fashioned concept that customer service people who are expected to support an offering should be involved in testing it? Assuming that there was a test plan of any kind, a big assumption.

Audio Good and Bad. Adding the audio edition of articles was a great addition to a great magazine. However, there is a major problem: the audio shuts off when you minimize the app or when the auto-lock activates. This makes the audio almost unusable; please fix this in future updates! However, thanks for adding this to the app.

App doesn’t keep your place in articles. If I am reading an article and set my phone down for a minute, when I come back and pick it up again the article jumps back to the beginning, forcing me to manually scroll back to where I was. Very annoying. Using iPhone 12 mini with face recognition to unlock the phone each time I resume. Seems like this should be easily fixed - please do.

Horrible app and customer service. This app is a fraction of what it should be. I haven't been able to download the new issue on time for months now and still can't get the most recent one. Moreover, when you're on the app homepage and want to read a featured article, the app makes you log in for each article you read despite already being logged in on the app itself. So, reading eight featured articles require eight individual log-ins. Ridiculous. It's a shame such stellar content is drug down by such poor digital management. It's ironic that they're covering the advancement of technology (the most recent issue is on automation) while simultaneously failing at the most basic automation themselves. Also, I've called them 5 times about this issue and emailed them. No fix yet. Just the same old "yeah, we know there's a problem, we'll fix it" runaround for months now. Horrible customer service.

Very good articles, small improvements could make the app better. The content on this app is helpful/informative. The app itself is easy to use as well, but it restarts every time you exit it. Oftentimes, I read an article throughout the day, so I close the app and return to it later. However, when I reopen the app, it opens to the homepage, not the article I was reading. It would be helpful if the app could maintain its spot in an article when reopened.

Not a Full Subscription. App does not make it clear that this subscription does not include desktop access to FA. As a result, any attempt to access it outside the iOS app forces you to re-subscribe for an additional subscription, even if you're already paying for one through the app store. This makes no sense, given that you also cannot transfer subscriptions from the app to desktop. This is important since you can only access archival articles in desktop mode.

Top quality. If i had to choose a one-stop-shop for learning about the world, then this magazine would certainly be the best choice. Every essay broadens my perspective. Even on topics that i am well read on, i always learn from the key insights that come from the wide range of experts and the inside knowledge that many of the writers possess. I highly recommend paying for this app. The subscription comes with a decade of writings (2012-present), with audio human voice narrations. One important addition that i need is for there to be a 1.25x speed option for audio narration. Unfortunately im stuck in the position of 1.0x narration being too slow and 1.5x being too fast.

Decent overall. Small improvements needed.. I get both print and digital. I love the digital app and it’s access to most current articles, audio versions or most all articles, and podcasts. My one improve would be a change so that when I switch apps or set down my phone the FA app doesn’t do it’s little reset. Slightly annoying. Also, set up a paid subscriber message board.

Great content -bad app. At the recommendation of one of my professors I purchased a subscription to Foreign Affairs. While browsing through the website is easy enough it is almost impossible to get through any articles on the app. The articles are in depth and often long but if I close the app and reopen it the app does not take me back to where I left off. The app instead takes me back to the main page and then I have to go back and find the article I was reading and hopefully remember where I left off. It has stymied my progress through a handful of articles and now I’m at the point that it just isn’t worth continuing to read on my iPhone or iPad because I know I may have to stop reading an article and will have to go through a whole process just to get back into the article.

Great Magazine, Dumpy App. Love the reporting in this magazine. It is always top-notch. The app leaves MUCH to be desired. It isn’t robust enough to include updates from the homepage for breaking stories. I really wish this were a bit more user friendly as well. It requires very fast download speeds to get the whole magazine on your device. This works well when you have high-speed internet, but is problematic when you are abroad. I hope future updates will include some more robust features.

Great content, good features, OK app. The Foreign Affairs Magazine name for this app is an understatement. The content includes everything in the magazine plus a variety of additional articles plus audio (read) versions of many of the articles. New content shows up daily. Most people will likely pick and choose what to read. The app is OK when it works. The organization of the articles is great. It's servicable. You can save articles and read them offline (great for travel). The formatting is pretty easy to read on iPhones and iPads. When it doesn't work... Well I don't know. I had a problem that compleatly disabled everything on my iPad. No articles. No content. Just a blank framework of the app. Though I reached out to support and they were helpful, and though we tried many things, we could not get it to work. Then I broke my iPad, replaced it with a newer model, loaded that up from my backup and everything worked fine. Lesson, if you can't get it to work, get a new iPad.

Great Reading. I am a relatively new reader of Foreign Affairs and I enjoy every issue. Picked my first issue up at the airport, settled in on my cramped flight to Vegas, and never put it down. Got back, hemmed and hawed over a subscription, went full Monty and got digital and paper, never looked back. Thoroughly enjoy most everything in every issue. Not sure if I have ever enjoyed a subscription so much.

Deep reading for time limited people. This is a great publication. One of the “features” is that it’s only printed 6 times per year. I subscribe to the Economist and feel stressed when not being to devote sufficient time to each weekly issue. I treat this pub more like a book, taking a couple weeks to read it. An added plus is the ability to listen to audio versions of the articles using the app.

Unable to download the latest issue. I love the Foreign Affairs magazine. I have been subscribing to the magazine through iTunes. I had not had any issue with the app in the past. But I have repeatedly been unable to download the January/February 2021 issue (latest issue). I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. It did not work. I contacted Apple. They advised me to contact the developer. So I emailed the developer, but the email was undelivered. I am giving the app a 4-star rating for now. If the developer hears me, and resolves the issue I’ll give them a 5-star.

Great content, slightly buggy app. Absolutely phenomenal content, but if I switch apps in the middle of reading an article, when I go back to the app my progress in the article is lost and I’m back at the top of the article. Since each article is fairly long, this makes reading articles a nuisance on the app. If they made one fix to save progress when you exit the app, then this would be 5 stars.

The magazine is wonderful but the app has some space to improve. I love the magazine, but if I could give 2 suggestions for the app it would be the following: - Add a side or top bar that could indicate progress through the text. Sometimes in a long text I feel like I’m almost finishing and I am not even halfway through. Thus, it would help to have a small indicative of progress - allow for users to set larger or smaller fonts. The current font size is fine in general, but still I would like to make it a little larger sometimes. Another nice feature that I would love to see being more explored is the audio stories (ideally all stories in audio), but I understand it takes more time to get it functioning.

Great Content, but Buggy App and no Customer Support. It’s difficult to beat the quality of FA’s content, unfortunately the app is prone to not recognizing paid, active subscriptions and to prompting for additional payment for some bi-monthly issues in a way that cannot be fixed by restoring purchases or even deleting and reinstalling the app. Customer service is also entirely unresponsive. They just flat out do not respond to emails. The issues are only $9.99, so it’s not a fortune, but randomly being required to double-pay to access content for which you’ve already purchased a subscription, and to have no means of addressing it through an active customer service function is....frustrating. Love the content, but buyer beware on the app.

App keeps refreshing and text sizes. I like the app for the most part but I absolutely hate that the app refreshes every time you return to the app, even if you are in the middle of an article. I understand refreshing when you are on the menu screen, but if you are in the middle of an article, leave the app for a little, and return to the app, the app should not refresh. A minor annoyance is the limitations with text resizing. Why isn’t it a sliding scale instead of a handful of intervals. I have the choice of having the text too small or too large because of the sizing intervals.

App does not recognize my subscription. New app update, new problems; same old story with Foreign Affairs. I'm a paid digital subscriber, but the app does not recognize my subscription. Previous update wouldn't even allow me to get into the app. I don't know who is running their digital show, but they need to be canned. I will not be renewing my subscription. Avoid this app and Foreign Affairs!

Move to the left. The steady decline of content with a particular leftist slant is very disturbing. You continue to miss the transformational change happening in the world. The publication has become marred in a status quo that mocks anybody that promotes change. You have consistently used leftist contributors (Stacy Abrams)to push the conversation left. The world order has become stagnant and you lambast President Trump for looking out for America in the world where Europe doesn’t want change. The Paris accords for example was a bad deal for America but a good deal for the Chinese. If you leftward, slant continues I will be forced to cancel my subscription. You treated President Obama like a saint because he was a nice guy and went along with the old boys club. His foreign policy was a complete disaster for America. Trump is more like the bull in the china shop, but it is good for the United States. Remember President Jackson was at first looked upon as boor and turned out to be a great president that changed the presidency. Regards, Paul Billman

Would be great with audio!. I just don’t get it. Foreign affairs creates audio versions of each article. They are available to subscribers on their website. It would be so easy to make them available in the app and therefore actually useful. I just don’t get it.

What happened?. App used to work well and i could download new content regularly. Account is still active but the content will not download. This App is completely useless - if it wasn’t broke, why did you try to fix it with a broken update?

Content is excellent but app could use some work. In particular, there is an issue where closing the app in the middle of an article doesn’t let you pick up where you left off; instead, it refreshes the article and starts you from the beginning, which makes it so you have to scroll back to wherever you left off.

Like pulling teeth. I wish I could give a higher rating, but after spending an hour trying to make this app work on my iPad, I have to say something. I have an email, a password, and my account number but I cannot log in. I change my password — still no luck. It wants my “use name” but neither email nor account # works — I do have *have* a user name that I know of (and none shows on my account page). And now I have ... notifications! Great, where are they and what are they? Can find them! How can I make them go away? Mind numbing exercise in debugging an app when I would rather be reading that article.

Amazing Content, Please Make Dark Mode Truly Black. Nothing catches my interest or makes me feel better informed than Foreign Affairs. The only change I would make is to offer a Dark Mode that uses a truly black background rather than the slightly whitened background used here. Update for Developer: I understand that you already offer a Dark Mode. I want the background to be truly black on OLED displays, which it isn’t now. Thanks!

Could be better. After unlocking my screen, my article fails to reload and I have to search for it again before I came resume reading. Please fix this glitch. Also, I like the bookmark feature but please add a highlight feature. When a highlight is made, it could be added to a searchable log that the reader can keep forever and browse any time.

Questionable Update. It looks like this update was intended to allow dynamic content and consequently the ability to use with an iPhone. What I appreciated about the old app was that it was simply digital/ePub versions of the print magazine, and therefore replicated the experience of flipping through the pages but with the added portability of having your entire collection available on the plane or a train. One (presumably unintended) consequence of the change in the display engine is that all the subscriber special editions are no longer available, at least as far as I could find. One has to now go to the FA website and download them from there. Many people are having trouble with validating subscriptions. This has also been a problem with previous versions of this app. I did not personally experience it this time, but understand how frustrating it is having experienced it before. I, for one, would appreciate the ability to retain the option to read ePub versions of the issues (and keep the subscriber specials), even as a separate option within the app. Bottom line, Foreign Affairs is a world-class publication and ought to have a world class app. It’s not quite there yet.

Can't access my digital issues. Having the same problem as others who complain they can't access their digital copies of their print subscription through the app. The latest update seems to have broken the app, and customer service says they're "aware" of the problem, but so far, after weeks, they haven't fixed it. Seriously, it worked before, roll back to the previous version.

Best content, worst app.... Review updated 10 December upon release of “new” and “improved” app... This app should be an embarrassment to the Council on Foreign Relations. Period. New app is released in non-working order. Only two issues can be downloaded. All other issues require payment, even for a subscriber of decades. Links within the TOC of these issues are all dead: you cannot navigate for the underlying content. And the library of historical content has been decimated; only from 2016 is available. This is a bad joke. CFR, fire everyone involved with this effort and start again. What are you all thinking? ———— Best content in the category, worst app (by a wide margin) among all news publications available on iOS. Customer service is incompetent and completely useless. Why CFR doesn’t get its act together is simply beyond me. A great mystery of our time.

Connecting an Account. I have subscribed to Foreign Affairs through Apple. I don't have an account. How do I connect my subscription through Apple to a Foreign Affairs Account so I can read on my computer? In the app I’m not signed in because I don’t have an account, I just purchased a subscription through Apple.

Balanced Ojectivity. I’ve been reading the FA Magazines since I was an International Affairs undergraduate student (Almost 50 years). While I acknowledge that emotions, politics and societal tides sways that very often shape the opinions over time, I held on the hope at least some of the academics would be guadrailed by their discipline and true knowledge to remain objective. I am afraid the recent articles do not reflect this. FA Magazine platform apparently does not see it as your duty to nourish Objectivity?

Great content, poor UX. If, like me, you’re a semi-distracted person who frequently toggles to other apps—Spotify, iMessage, etc—while reading articles on here, you’ll be sorely disappointed by the UX. For some reason, leaving the app for more than 15 seconds results in either you losing your place in the article you were reading (i.e., you return to find yourself at the start of the article) or the app restarting itself such that you’re not longer even in the article you were reading. This is the news / magazine app I’ve come across with this issue and it is the #1 reason I rarely read FA articles despite paying for a subscription.

Great news site. You can always count on Foreign Affairs to give a pro/con report. It so nice to see a news that give a neutral perspective and not biased. I really enjoyed and appreciated all the great information this site provided. This is what journalism is all about. Thank you!

Good but can be better. Update 2: The “The Latest” section started working again. Also, I appreciate customer support getting back to me. Update: app’s been pretty buggy lately. The “The latest” section doesn’t load. Overall, the app is pretty good and the content is great. It would be really nice if saved articles don’t just save locally. I constantly switch between my devices (iPhone, ipad) and none of my saved articles appear on the other devices. Also, it would be nice if the app had the ability to download articles in the background so it starts up faster and does not do the updating when I launch the app. If I’m mistaken in any of this and the app does, indeed, do those things, then please let me know.

Audio Doesn’t Work. Shuts Down Application. The read aloud audio does not always work on the mobile IPhone App. I may receive mixed feedback about my hardware/software update, but they are always up to the latest versions. The Jan/Feb 2020 articles shut down the entire application when trying to use the audible version instead of text.

App does not recognize my digital subscription. The app recognizes me, but I cannot access new issues or my library. I emailed customer service, and they say they're working on the problem. It seems others have had this problem for a while. Great magazine, poor digital management. At the least, the magazine should send an email to all digital subscribers acknowledging the problem and a timeframe for the fix. It's ridiculous that this problem has gone on so long.

App resets article progression if you leave it. If you leave the app to look at another app, your article progression resets to the beginning of the article. Quite annoying and seems like a basic feature to fix!

Foreign Affairs app.. The most comprehensive and detailed informative app ever. If you want to understand the world and it’s complexity, this is the platform. All is explained by some of the world’s most knowledgeable and insightful experts. Every Government and or Military professional needs to have this on their phones.

Foreign affairs audio app. I love the fact that foreign affairs as provided an audio version. The audio helps me go much much more out of my subscription. It would be better if the went through audible like WSJ,WP, and NYT... the glitch I see in the app is that it shuts down when my phone goes to sleep so I constantly have to wake my phone up.... I don’t have this problem with the economist or audible...

Awkward reading and challenging audio experience. The content is great. The app is pretty terrible: it returns to the home screen every time I open it, which creates extra steps to access the magazine content. It's hard to tell the difference between "recent" and magazine content. Do they overlap? It feels like I have to work extra hard to reorient myself to where I was in my reading of the magazine every time I open the app. I also use audio a lot and the audio player is just a complete disappointment. It's unclear which pieces are available in audio until you bring up the audio list, but the audio browser is separate from the article browser so it's hard to know which article your want to listen to. The app doesn't save your place if you leave part way through listening too an article, so I'm constantly starting again or just giving up. The audio doesn't visualize where in the article you are as you go so it's hard to take notes or switch from audio to reading without a lot of work. Finally I would LOVE it if the app allowed me to highlight and take notes in it. Thank you.

App missing important features. If you happen to switch to another app while you’re reading and come back, your reading location gets lost. Maybe you’ll get taken to the same article but your spot in that article gets lost. Articles don’t get downloaded if you save them. Wonderful magazine and the app generally works but those two features are rather important.

Great writing so far, but some UI quirks. UI quirks: - scrolling up and down leads to the text jumping quite a lot. I do this quite a lot to re-read something - if I leave the app and come back, it often doesn’t keep my spot and resets at the top. Kind of annoying when I’m multitasking.

Endless bashing. I’ve been reading your magazine since I was 20 years of age. I used to enjoy reading this magazine that’s why I started subscribing. Now the endless President Trump bashing on every article it’s getting quiet old, especially when the facts don’t add up. After this year I won’t continue to subscribe anymore.

Unable to download issues even with subscription log in. I logged in and out, reinstalled app, and still unable to get the issues for download

FOREIGN AFFAIRS APP. It’s pretty good app.but sometimes does help much to find what I am after and bit confusing as well. Hope with time get better and we will have these articles in podcasts.

Everything you would want. It’s quite a simple app but has everything you would want from Foriegn Affairs. Articles, audio articles and podcasts, all up to date and easy to navigate.

Audio is awesome. Thanks for including audio for the monthly editions, it is really convenient when you have a young family and are always on the go.

I need to buy a new iPad to read this magazine. Very irritating that I can no longer read this on my older iPad. my subscription is useless now. Any suggestions?? I was planning to upgrade but!!!!

Whatever. App requires IOS 6. Those of us who bought I Pads a couple of years ago cannot use IOS 6 - we're limited to IOS 5. Therefore we can no longer download Foreign Affairs. Our subscriptions are therefore useless.

Awesome. I love listening to audio foreign affairs .

Update needed. This app desperately needs an update for better experience to access your materials. Even as a subscriber, trying to read is frustrating having to login all the time, and not recognising myself as an subscriber, showing need to purchase issues...

Beautiful. Beautiful app. Amazing content. Now with audio articles. Great value subscription. Well done, Foreign Affairs. Congrats to the tech team.

A media company that cannot deliver. Content doesn't matter if there are repeated frustrations accessing the material and clumsy integration of web and app security. It's an incentive to cancel your subscription.

Foreign Affairs Review. This is without doubt the best written political magazine in circulation that I have come across. Reading it is a clear graduation from the slightly left leaning Economist and Foreign Policy; it is intellectually challenging and leads to deep learning of the topics and countries covered. No doubt this is an analyst’s magazine of choice. Low frequency of new issues is the only downside, which says a lot about how much I appreciate it. The annual subscription is a small investment, I highly recommend.

What happened to Landscape reading view?. What happened to Landscape reading view?

Better than I remember. The articles are writing are better than I remember from years ago and the audio is excellent.

Does not work. The app does work? Happy not purchase. When you fix it I may subscribe.

Recorded articles. Why are they not all recorded the way The Economist’s are?

Riveting. I live to immerse myself in the long insightful articles dissecting global affairs that I find in the pages of Foreign Affairs.

Fiction rather than analysis. Most of the article are very bias, meaning the facts are skewed to fit the narrative.

Please fix resolution on IPad Pro. We have to pinch to get the resolution fixed.

Improving Foreign Affairs. Less leftist bias

Great analysis. The insights this magazine offers should be read by al policy makers.

Articles. The articles are short, current and very informative. A winning combination

Excellent publication. I thoroughly enjoy Foreign Affairs. Excellent analysis, often from the key actors themselves! Analysis is in-depth, but still readable. Thirty-page essays are a great length to provide information, commentary and study. The material could not be more topical and relevant.

Download speeds are horrible. The content is just awesome. The app experience, just horrible. Real shame.

Informed Opinion. Foreign Affairs is where I go to learn the current state of global tensions and trends. The magazine that informs World Leaders, their advisors, and Students of International Affairs is unparalleled in depth of knowledge and historical context. The app is simple to use and designed just like the magazine.

Great Accompanying App. Foreign Affairs is one of the most influential and comprehensive publications on foreign politics from an American perspective. The accompanying app is clean, easy to navigate, and finally supports playing their Audible recordings of their articles. Without the audio version of articles it would be hard to digest full issues, however, now I can listen to essays and articles while commuting or doing chores.

Salah M. One of the best magazine for the global politics analysis .

Be warned. You will not be able to stop your subscription after it ends, even if you disable auto-renew. And even after calling and having them understand that i did not wished to renew, not only they charged me again 2 days later, but they changed my subscription to paper and digital, instead of the cheaper digital only subscription that i had before. This is fraud pure and simple.

Not well done. Viewer is not intuitive at all, feels clunky

Excellent Journalism on Important Issues. For those that want thought provoking articles on a wide array of topics, Foreign Affairs is a great resource. I just joined and am loving their insight. Definitely worth it.

iTunes. Subscribed through iTunes but won’t let me see thevarticlesbut won’t let me see the articles

Great content, app could be better. It’s annoying how the app always opens to the home screen even if you were in the middle of an article. It can be tough to find the spot you left off in.

Why?. Almost as useful as connecting directly to the website Website/browser can remember your login, but after registering still need to login? Website/browser can text and pictures - app version of website prevents me from doing this -- Why did they bother writing an app that simply degrades the website?

Intelligent and Detailed. This is beyond doubt the most intelligent, detailed and reasonable analysis and commentary available and always current. With such knowledge and wisdom available it is surprising that those that make decisions at the political level do not do so with such material though one expects that maybe there are some adults, if not in the room, at least nearby. ‘Foreign Affairs’ is obviously one of these and thereby contributes to the possibility of rational and informed decisions.

Subscription. Bought a subscription through iTunes. Not able to connect the subscription to an email or to my apple account and I can’t use any benefits that accompany a subscription. Help pls

No access. Can’t access the articles even when I’m subscribed. Please fix it.

Much much better. The old app tried to do too much with little support. This version is sooooooo much better...all anyone wants is a good reading experience. I reupped my subscription because of this improved app.

Great app great magazine. It’s a great magazine. I love it. The app is smooth. The writing is terrific. Has to be the best magazine to read to stay informed on international issues

I subscribe but can’t use app. It would be great, especially since I’ve already paid for the annual subscription if I could use the app - I’ve tried logging in and it keeps asking me to subscribe again - hopefully this can be fixed soon.

Saved articles. I need access to my saved articles

Can’t log in because of “technical issues”. Although I have a paid digital subscription I can’t log into the app at all, making it worthless to me. When I try to log in the app just gives the message “Sorry, we are currently experiemcing technical issues but are workng hard to fix them. Please check back soon.”

Disappointment. When I subscribed to Foreign Affairs I expected that that my subscription is for one year and accessible worldwide. Three month after my subscription started I travelled to EUROPE. My subscription ended and I no longer able to access my account. They are now asking me to subscribe again. What a rip off?

Lose my spot in lengthy articles. It constantly brings me back to the top of the article any time the phone locks or I switch between apps. Very frustrating.

World views. If you want to know what takes place inside and more importantly outside America, this is the magazine for you. Incredibly well written and edited, presented by some of the leading minds in their field. Foreign Affairs feature's honest and in-depth articles.

Very clunky interface. I use the app on my iPad. The magazine can only be read in the portrait orientation. Apparently the developers don't know about iPad covers. In this orientation the test is very small. When I make the page take up more of the screen I must return the page to its original size in order to go to the next page. The New York Times and The Economist apps are vastly superior to this one.

Great content, easy to read high level takes on the news!. Thanks for a great way to access expertise on the news. Appreciate the audio and downloads so I can take this on the go.

Objectiveness and information. Some times the articles are speculative and subjective.

Always worth reading. Insightful, timely and includes a broad and diverse range of opinions. Easy way to explore topical issues and to have “ experts” provide well thought out points of view.

Unable to download current subscription. The app on my phone works but not on iPad

Does not recognize subscription for issue downloads. Does not recognize subscription for issue downloads… please fix

Great Magazine, site needs improvement -- to save my last location!. Ii

Does not work. Just stopped working. Doesn't recognize my subscription. Customer Service staff is useless. They have no clue of what the problem is or when it will get fixed. It has been 2 weeks and no resolution. Very amateurish.

Huge improvement. The upgraded App is so much easier to read with its new layout. And finally, an iPhone version! Hallelujah. Well done.

Can’t log in. I have tried to log in but I keep getting the “sorry the login is temporarily unavailable” message. I have contacted customer support but I have not heard back. Will update review if problem is fixed. Update: The problem has been fixed for me.

thumbs up for authoritative FA. Flawless website. Excellent coverage of US foreign policy and many articles giving useful background on other countries.

Can you please fix this app?. A great content that can’t be enjoyed because of a poorly performing App. Used to be better before recent updates. Can’t go back to where left reading. Becoming unpleasant experience to try and read the great content offered by CFR. I hope this can be fixed. Thanks.

Three dimensional examination. Seldom are assessments of critical issues examined and presented in three dimension. Without being able to know and understand events, topics, people, etc. with this advantage skepticism occurs.

Most unhelpful. The Foreign Affairs app seems determined to be user unfriendly and opaque how to do basic things. Articles demand subscription information but only direct one to the Apple store with no further help or explanation. So much more trouble than it needs to be.

Simply the best way to stay informed. There is no other way to keep abreast of foreign relations and international issues than Foreign Affairs correspondents.

Customer assistance failure. Love the content. Digital subscription help was worse than worthless

Important Information. I wish that everyone would read Foreign Affairs so that they would be aware of the awesome problems that must be dealt with to preserve international order and avoid harmful wars

Never mind — That didn’t work. My prior instructions for downloading the issue didn’t work. I get a download and I can read it AT THAT TIME, but I can’t find where it downloaded it to. And when I log back in via the app, I have to go through the “Subscribe” / “I have a print edition” etc. all over again. I see where ai can download “iPad extras” so Foreign Affairs know HOW to make an issue downloadable. They just don’t. I regret that I didn’t read the reviews before the purchase.

Considered Expert…. …Opinions offer me the hope that things aren’t predestined to become hopeless before a tsunami of malice, pain, selfishness, & lack of respect for humanity.

There is a world out there beyond our two shores.. I have depended on FA to provide the international news and commentary for decades. As our national coverage has become more outlandish and petty FA has always been thoughtful and informative.

Great online resource. Years ago I would eagerly await the next printed issue of Foreign Affairs. Now I get new, substantive articles via email almost every day! The writing still seems centrist and Establishment, but there is plenty to learn here.

Doesn’t save spot. I love the articles but I am so annoyed with the fact the the app doesn’t let me continue articles where I left off. I subscribe to six other news apps and they all save my spot.

Finally Fixed. Well strike up the band - it's finally been fixed. Thank you. However, Foreign Affairs needs to take a long, hard look at its customer service department. Deplorable doesn't even begin to describe it.

Content Is Solid, Needs Dark Mode. The magazine content is exemplary, and I haven’t experienced any issues with the app. The app could use a dark mode display setting.

Best go to foreign affairs publication. 42 years ago when pursuing my International Studies degree my professors said FA was a must read. It continues to be a must read to stay informed about the world. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Wonderful content, iPad friendly. Much improved interface with the iPad - portrait/landscape capability and issue navigation are both evident. Nice job, and thanks.

Content not accessible. Help non-existant. I downloaded the app, but the content would not download. Perfect - a content driven app without the content! The Foreign Affairs help desk cannot help with subscriptions via the App! Genuis. Then the Apple help points you to the Foreign Affairs site. Useless! Don't waste your money. Avoid the lost time and frustration. I just asked for my money back.

Are You An Armchair Policy Wonk?. Foreign Affairs is not just for seasoned diplomats. It’s for the geo-politically thirsty of every stripe. It’s also less expensive than some other choices out there. Enjoy!

Beware of iTunes Subscription. Content is great, but should make it clearer that iTunes subscriptions do not include access to latest articles. Have to subscribe on publisher’s website (and get a user ID and password) to access this content.

Great News App. Quality material ! Love the audio capabilities… I just wish you could listen to any article. Love to listen to something when I am in transit.

Amazing. My son who is getting his Masters at Johns Hopkins SAIS gave me a subscription for Father’s Day. It has been a wonderful deep education in current foreign policy.

OnLine is extra. My granddad read FA 50-yrs ago. I’ve always grab them hen I could and have subscribed for the past 20-yrs. As I was taught I love being able to hi light/write refs/notes on my print addition. I also loved the web reader - it was better than playing solitaire waiting in a que - and hated it because it didn’t allow notations. Now I have to pay for something else that pisses me off. Honestly, if we pay for the print editions, FA should simply give us the notably limited e-version.

Needs to be revamped. There’s some design flaws that makes it hard to navigate the app. Would like to see it updated.

Keeping up with the world. One of the best sources of important information and analysis of what occurring around the globe.

Great update. After some stupid bugs with this overhauled app, it’s is finally close to par with major journal apps. Scrapbook is great but should sync across devices. There should be better integration with the CFR website, too. Still, this makes it much easier to read and keep articles and avoid the unmanageable accumulation of hard copy issues.

Great Magazine, But Loads Kinda Weird. If you are ever reading an article and leave the app to check on something else or put your phone down and resume later, it loses your progress. Otherwise, top tier magazine. Top tier app.

Praise for the best. I’ve been a reader and then subscriber since 1953 when I was twelve. My dad was writing his foreign policy dissertation at Columbia and showed me this important source ForeignAffairs. Frederic (Ted)Todd

Could be better. Foreign Affairs essays are great, but the app could be better. You can’t sync saved stories across devices, and the app will often lose my place in an essay if I leave the app and come back. Overall, it’s a fairly barebones app that mostly gets the job done.

Great variety of content. I’m not an expert in foreign policy, but I have a deep interest in being aware of what’s happening on the world stage. FA gives me a around the globe perspective everyday making me more informed about foreign policy and it’s impact business and global order.

Bugged App. The app does not allow me to register for digital access through the top banner, although it does recognize me as subscriber, because I can log in. The consequence is that I do not have access rights to my library and new issues, although I am a subscriber in good standing. FOREIGN AFFAIRS PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG SINCE SUBSCRIBERS HAVE FLAGGED THIS ISSUE. (Problem may be limited to App Store US members, I am told).

Total Crap. Logged in and it shows I’m subscribed but still can’t download issues, I expected better from them... Updated for new reader...no improvement on the basic issue: can’t download older issues despite having been a subscriber for many years now. It’s beyond me how this continues to not be fixed, forces me to go and download PDFs of issues that interest me rather than use the app...which means this app is almost completely pointless

Portrait ONLY, do don't bother, use the website.. The app works well enough, but ONLY in portrait orientation, which is nice sometimes, but makes it impractical to bother with the app vis a vis just logging in to the web site access via a browser. Someone else said it well, "I guess they don't know about iPad covers?" REALLY?

Foreign Affairs iPhone app. This is a great app! The only thing I would wish for is that *all* the articles also had an audio version (for subscribers of course) as The Economist has.
