Hervorragender Überblick über globales Weltgeschehen. Täglich lese ich den Economist Espresso, um mir einen schnellen Überblick zu verschaffen. (Die Kombination mit dem Wörterbuch hilft mir außerdem, mein British English zu verbessern). Die Referenzen regen mein Interesse an, Artikel aus dem Economist zu lesen, den ich ebenfalls abonniert habe. Eine hervorragende Kombination aus Breite und Tiefe für alle diejenigen, die eine globale Sicht auf das wirtschaftliche und politische Weltgeschehen benötigen.

A Day‘s Essential. Grabbing the shortcuts of economic facts everyday.

Vorsprung durch Kuerze.. But sometimes by far too short and connected and linked Economist articles are never open for subscribers of Espresso.

Werktäglicher Starter. Mit der Espresso App ist dem Economist ein sehr gutes Produkt gelungen. Wichtige Schlagzeilen und die führenden Indizes werden von Montag bis Sonnabend jeden Morgen geliefert. Am Wochenende dominieren dann Nachricht aus den Welten der Wissenschaft, der Kunst und des Sports. Wer täglich alle Seiten liest, wird mit einem Zitat belohnt.

Essential for the morning. Like the little cup of dark stimulant, the Economist’s Espresso is both essential and a wonderful way of getting a condensed summary of the most important news for the day. Endlich gefunden!. Habe lange nach einer übersichtlichen internationalen Tagesnews-App gesucht. Und mit Espresso gefunden. Nutze sie jeden Tag.

Sadly unusable. Used to be my favorite News App. Since a few days the App does not refresh and I can‘t read the new articles.

Impossible to quit. Not worth the money just get normal weekly economist and consume daily news elsewhere/free Also I cannot unsubscribe - they made it so hard...

Good and quick coverage on news. The format is intuitive, related to the region and easy to read. Always a welcome quick kick start into the day.

Lieblingsapp. Leider stört die Werbung in der bezahlten Version

Frequent log-out. I use the app for long time as subscriber and love it. However, lately it will log me out for no obvious reason. That is very annoying if logging in takes longer than reading a short article.

Teuer. Da ist wirklich Zero free Content. Egal was du anklickst, entweder 130 oder 13 €.

Short an crisp. Just the right mix of length and up to date. They could include champions league results…

Layout problems. Since the new update the layout of the app is not fitted to iPhone 11 anymore. The text is too much to the left and the number of articles is disrupted. Jumping from article 2/8 to 4/8 Please fix. Besides no problems and great app for morning briefings

Great daily summary. This app is running stable and the news are interesting and seldom outdated. Would be nice to have no advertisements at all but taken the price into account it’s okay.

Instant Crashing. Leider stürzt die App direkt nach dem Öffnen ab. Auf dem iPhone funktioniert es aber nicht auf dem iPad Pro. Schade!

Perfect. A nice brief overview of the daily most important news

Loved it - but disappointed by changes. To me, the Espresso was the greatest news innovation. Reading it every single morning became a favorite ritual and I loved every bit of it (the short news snippets, the selection of stories, the Saturday version with a focus on culture and entertainment, etc) and also most of the early changes (moving the snippets to the front, introducing longer form stories and profiles, removing the indices, etc) BUT I found one thing utterly disappointing: you switched to updating individual stories at (what seems to me) random intervals rather than all of them at the same time every morning. Since then, I’ve stopped reading the Espresso daily and even abandoned it entirely for other (local) newspapers.

Brilliantly made. The app provides a compact news format in a brilliant minimalist design. If you want the essence of the Economist's daily news then have your Espresso

Intelligent, Witty. Very well written with just enough humour. The short articles are good, I would personally ditch the market stats. I appreciate that the weekend edition focuses on the arts.

I'm enjoying it every morning!. A shot (or two) of the news and the state of the world in the morning, through short but insightful articles that focus on what matters, with a pinch of the very same analytical view of the Economist that make the news something much more than just news.

Technical issues. I m a big fan of The Economist, so I hate to say that this app is really not working well. It constantly crashes and it also takes a long time to load (if it loads at all). Definitely room for improvement - not recommendable yet!

Who came up with these ads?. Always liked the Espresso app. Good layout, good articles. Only criticism was, that it was very slow and sometimes wouldn't open. But who came up with these ads lately? I paid the 3€/month fee gladly, thinking this was just a fair amount of money for what I get. No you push ads (even they are native ones and not too bad) at me? Just ask an honest subscription price, that is sustainable for. Don't alter the deal a few months in ...

Good idea, but hypersensitive to slow connections. Very useful app in principle, and could over time develop into a great "day-starter" containing essential news. My complaint: If you have a slow internet connection, the app will think you are offline. For people like me, who works in Africa where connections are often sluggish, it is outright frustrating to restart the app again and again in the hope it will finally bite. Economist: Please make the app more patient to slow connections, not all of your readers live in high-tech environments. Thanks.
