Unstable on iPad . Poor email function.. Continually reloads the articles. They must have to many functions and measurement bots running in the background. I'm lucky to read the first two sentences before it reloads. When you start the app it takes longer then other news apps to load. When you click on an a headline to read the article it takes forever to open and even worse to top it off you get a failure warning and it blacks out and reloads. And reloads again. And again... Their app has so many things running in the background that my iPad can't keep up with all their tracking that it constantly reloads. To counter this I will try emailing myself the article so I can at least read it later, but that doesn't always function well with opening the email at the same time their app is open. Email function has less support over the last months. Finally,I am a paid subscriber and there is no function to leave comments. In conclusion, I would tell me friends not to subscribe to them. I only gave two stars because of the excellent journalism which deserves all five stars but the crappy app only should receive one star.

All around coverage. I knew that the WaPo was a great newspaper that covered from politics to sports to fashion. It really became a reality (for me) when I wanted a cohesive and nonpartisan journalism on the U.S. election. Proved it by all means (not endorsing any of the candidates as an example) I really love their “long-reads” about topics abroad (i.e. South Asia) and the print edition that they have available. All in all, a great insightful newspaper that gives you what you need most at the exact time! Fully worth the subscription.

Good App. Great app of a fantastic newspaper. But - and this is bummer! - there is no way to toggle between lightmode and darkmode exept changing the whole device. I want to be able to toggle the app to light mode, even if my device is set to dark mode.

Crashes when opening. The last update makes the app unusable. Urgent fix needed.

🗞️🧠Not bad, but…. Good in itself. BUT extremely annoying: - why are there advertisements in the articles? It's extremely annoying! The NYT doesn't have that and for good reason. - why is the function for saving articles hidden behind the 3 dots? - why is the gift article function also hidden there? Please bring both functions to the front next to the comments icon. Please improve this in the future! An sich gut. ABER extrem nervig: - wieso gibt es Werbung in den Artikeln? Das nervt extrem! Die NYT hat sowas nicht und aus gutem Grund. - wieso ist die Funktion zum Speichern von Artikeln hinter den 3 Punkten versteckt? - wieso ist die Gift article Funktion dort auch versteckt? Bitte beide Funktion nach vorne bringen neben dem Symbol für die Kommentare. Bitte das verbessern in der Zukunft!

Inhalt gut, App ok. Seit Trump lese ich die WP und die NYT regelmäßig. Inhaltlich ist die WP top, aber das Design der App spricht mich nicht sonderlich an. Das der NYT ist intuitiver, frischer und lädt zum Stöbern ein.

This thing is cluttered and ugly. Having transitioned from the Washington Post Select app, this one is cluttered. And can’t hold a candle to the experience and visual presentation of the soon to be closed Select app. Disappointed.

Find solutions, paywall. Paywall alert! I want more political reporting on solutions to global problems, and less about drama about trump and fights between dems and Republicans.

Dark mode?. Just updated the app and now it’s no longer working in dark mode although everything on my iPhone is set up that way. I find it so much easier to read. Love the content so I hope this isn’t a problem with the app but rather me being too stupid to figure it out...

Invaluable updates. It’s invaluable as a source for reporting on news from around the world. I love being able to choose which headlines are delivered to my inbox. Also a fan of Karen Attiah’s writing, so I’m feeling like I can start and end the day with a sense of what’s going on around me and with smart, incisive analysis.

Invaluable information. A german European is more than thankful for getting information and analysis on the „true“ US. You are not to be envied. Keep it up.

Newspaper. The App always auto-downloads the newspaper. There is no way to disable this function. Costs too much storage!

10 bucks a month.... for things I can get free? Nope, thanks, too many alternatives out there.

I criticized your slogan, DEMOCRACY DIES IN DARKNESS, the meaning of which you have an obligation to explain to your readers. Ads despite adfree premium subscription!. I have a premium subscription without tracking and ads. The app still displays ads and keeps tracking me. //Edit in response to dev comment about there being ads in all WP apps/adfree only on website: Thanks for your response. Oddly enough the other WP app does not display any ads once I am logged in. It is only this, the classic app, not respecting my subscription.

Ads are horrible. Reading articles is a nightmare. In one article five time a heavily animated ad is shown with really disturbing content. Reading the Post is no fun any more.

Ok. I really like the articles and the ability to comment on them. I don’t like the audio and would like an option to completely disable it. It’s too easy to activate and I have NO interest in listening to articles.

Please include better Read-Aloud-Functionality. I am disappointed from the poor Read-Aloud functionality that is less natural than Google's Read-Aloud-Service, which could be used instead. I guess there would also be other options.

Top content.. The app is pretty good with features. But the content is top. One of the best places to get accurate news and superb opinions with excellent editorial oversight and proven journalistic quality. Can't go wrong with this app.

exzellent journalism. The Washington Post is one of several papers I read every day. The articles are written well, information is presented in a fair and factual way.

Trump made me reading it. WASP is doing fine. I am closer to US affairs than with European news. Since DT it is a must; "sidenews" are appreciated. The language used keeps my brain busy.

American Voice in Germany. I like this APP because - living in Germany - it tells me all about the latest news in the USA and with more details than CNN

AI read. I don’t like how AI reads the articles or the news. The tone is always the same and the hard to follow. So I only listen to actual human voices, and unfortunately there are less and less.
