Great! Some features missing. I would love a paginated mode, where you swipe through pages from left to right, like a book. Also Full justification for the main text. Collapsable comments.

Highly recommended. If you’re looking for an alternative option to find your true fans and monetize your writing skills at the same time, the Substack app is a great app to start. It provides writers the opportunity to showcase their creative writing talents and stories without complicating things. It’s simple to install and use. Definitely a writer must-have! ❤️

Work in progress. I love the new notes feature, unfortunately the app keeps crashing at the moment. Hope it’ll be sorted soon. A couple of weeks later : still crashing. I desperately want to give the app 5 stars but they make it a bit difficult.

Great platform. This is a terrific platform whether you’re a curious reader or you want to start your own blog and moneitze it in the long run.

Keeps crashing while scrolling in “Notes”. Currently it’s impossible for me to use the notes feature because the app keeps crashing whenever I scroll around on notes. Happens on latest app version (1.2.15) on iOS 16.3.1. Apart from that there is obvious way to report bugs inside the app or on their website.

Useless for creators. The Substack iOS/iPadOS app offers an excellent reading experience for newsletter enthusiasts. The intuitive design and user interface make browsing and reading content a pleasure. Unfortunately, the app falls short when it comes to newsletter creation. Creators do not have the necessary tools to create their content directly within the app. This forces them to continue using the browser, which impacts the overall experience. While the app does provide some features for managing subscribers and content, essential tools for newsletter creation are missing. The absence of a comprehensive editor function is regrettable and makes the features available in the app more of a nice gimmick than a complete replacement for the browser. Overall, the Substack app is recommended for its reading qualities, but for creators who want to create their newsletters, it remains an useless solution with plenty of room for improvement.

New update sucks. The new inbox is really disorienting and there’s no option to make it chronological in any way. Also, I shouldn’t have to leave a terrible review just to report something. The new inbox and home page design are really bugging me and taking away from my enjoyment of newsletters!

Good app, needs a darkmode. It’s an app to read the articles on the website. It works well, but should get the functionality of managing subscriptions in the app. Also, I’d really like a darkmode, or even some more options like sepia etc.

No way to report bugs. There is no way on the substack website, app, or any contact email to report bugs. That’s certainly a confident move. In any case, I’m reporting here in hope it can get through. I have lost the majority of my subscriptions. One day they just weren’t there, save for my three paid for subs and one free sub. I used to have roughly half a dozen unpaid subs, among them some of my favourite writers. They are all gone, and I need to search through and resubscribe. Further, my feed has stopped updating. There are new posts from what subs have remained, I can see them directly on their respective substacks, but they do not show on my feed. My feed completely died for the last several days and it took me to actively search around to discover this. Aside from these issues, please - make some means of reporting bugs available! You surely can’t rely solely on a user faq and instrumentation to take care of possible issues that may (read: will) arise.

Love it. The pure idea of Substack is amazing. Just the customizing to chose another subscription model is loading sometimes endles for me :/

Requires personal data to be used → illegal. This app should be removed ASAP, since it offers no way of anynomous usage.

Payment functions main negative. Reading is good, but anything payment related is very painful and typically needs to be done via the website

When email sharing. Have the title appear in the subject line. Thank you.

Good read over noise. If you want to focus on good reading and writing without noisy distractions, this is the place.
