Any translation of the Quran no longer retains that 'official' and perfect status, however it can be tremendously helpful to people wanting to learn more about Islam.

We would strongly encourage those who want to learn about Islam to also read a scholarly written commentary of Quran (tafseer). A tafseer references to reasons behind a verse, to sayings of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (hadith) and to acts of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (sunnah).
