Что такое приложение news explorer? News Explorer is a full-featured yet easy-to-use RSS, JSON, Atom, Reddit, YouTube, Podcast, Bluesky and Mastodon news reader with iCloud synchronization between Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV.
Full iCloud Sync
• News Explorer syncs your feeds, filters, folders, articles including statuses, notes and tags, across all your Apple devices.
• Synchronization is based on iCloud, so there is no need to login or to sign up into any other service, it just works out of the box.
Smart Filters
• Filter your news according your own conditions and preferences, easily accessible from the feeds list.
• Filters customizations are synced across all your devices.
Automatic Reader View
• Use automatic Reader view to download and read the full text version of truncated articles from supported sources.
• News Explorer makes use of multiple parsers to offer the best Reader view results.
Article Comments
• Read article comments from other readers directly in the app.
• Works with RSS feeds that has comment feeds per article, YouTube feeds, Reddit feeds and Hacker News feeds.
• Also works with most feeds from websites that use Open Web comments.
Article Notes
• Create rich text notes, directly in the context of the article.
• Notes are synced via iCloud together with the related article.
Feed Settings
• All aspects of a feed like title, source link or icon, can be adjusted in the Feed settings dialog.
• Disable the feed temporarily or permanently.
• Override app settings for syncing, downloading comments and reading articles.
Feed Prefilters
• Prevent the app from downloading articles you don’t want to see or read.
• Prefilters are synced via iCloud, and can be easily configured on feed level in the Feed settings dialog.
Article Inspector
• Inspect metadata, tags, media, notes and comments of articles in the Inspector panel.
• View and add custom tags in the Metadata panel.
• Browse and download media, including podcasts, in the Media panel.
Article Tags
• Article categories of RSS articles are displayed in the Inspector panel as tags.
• Can be extended with your own tags.
• Custom tags are easily recognizable, and are synced via iCloud.
• Tags can be used as conditions in filters.
Local Account
• Add feeds to News Explorer that only exists on your device by activating the Local account option.
• The local account option can be used in addition to or instead of syncing with iCloud.
Reading Features

• Navigate with one click to the original content.

• Full text search in the List and Timeline view.

Функционал норм. Но не хватает эргономики reeder
*All* the platforms!. It may sound silly, but I do appreciate that I can read my feeds from the Apple Watch and mark specific articles to read on the desktop later.
An app draft, not a final app. Traditionally, aA button is made to choose font family and font size, and sometimes also font weight and a theme. In better cases it allows to customize line height, page margins/width, 2/3 columns layout, and to create custom themes. In this app, it only chooses a theme. And this poor usability is seen in all of the interface parts: Add subscription doesn't allow to specify site URL. In present times, searching for RSS links on a page is industry standard de facto. You also have Search for subscriptions… but it doesn't open typed text as URL at all, searching for it as keywords instead. The other apps had no difficulties getting RSS links from the same URLs. No way to choose font family from all fonts installed system-wide. Even font size isn't customizable at all. (As mentioned before.) Which lead us to the next problem: the article text is way too tiny on iPad, and articles list font is also miniature size. You see, the RSS app is mostly about reading, so text readability and aesthetics are the most important parts of user experience. Another epic part: you can not copy feed URL. Even worse, all added feeds have no properties at all. You are not allow to customize how they are loaded and displayed. Groups don't have properties either. If you feel this is enough, I'll remind you that we are on mobile device which is limited in memory by construction, but in the app you may not specify max cache size or clear cache and choose app's images download behavior. The Newspaper view opens sites rather than article views. It seems the app was made for its screenshots, just to be bought, and not to be used. What I like: seamless OPML import, image viewer with Save and zoom. Прога сделана на отъ… на отвали. Как будто только ради красивых скриншотов, из-за которых Вы её купите. Не настраиваются ни шрифт, ни размер шрифта, который по умолчанию крайне маленький, ни вообще ничего в плане отображения, кроме выбора из фиксированных шкурок (3 шт, из них 2 светлые). Нельзя указать лимиты по максимальному размеру кэша. Отвратительно. Пользоваться невозможно.

По сути программа не выполняет своих функций. У меня больше 200 фидов. Новости не приходят, теряются, приходят позже или в другом порядке. Консистентность нарушена. Бесполезный хлам. Нашёл опенсорс аналог, который работает как часы

Nice feature packed RSS reader. I have some feature requests: - recognize swipe back gesture from the middle of reader view, not the left edge - move “read all” button from the top to the bottom panel - give more options for text size in feed list, reader view and comments view (super large or custom) - option to not underscore links in reader view - hide top and bottom panel on scroll in feed list - on swipe right gesture in reader view open link in safari view - vibration on some actions (feed updated, mark all read etc) - timeline view with all items from all feeds and save current position in timeline via iCloud. - customization of bottom panel items. - liquid glass redesign - more themes
