Deceiving Users. Price of subscription increased 10x without prior notice. Cancellations only via phone call. The app is unstable, frequently asking to track and collect personal data and articles don’t load unless you bookmark them and then click on them in the for you tab.

Quality journalism to a adequate price. This newspaper delivers quality journalism. It is (oh wonder) focused on business but their politics section is also pretty good. They publish interesting essays which I genuinely enjoy reading, too. Newspaper has a center-right bias. Pricing absolutely adequate for the content delivered

Great App, insane data consumption. This is a much better App than eg the FT‘s, but loading times and data consumption are insanely high.

Great news. The app is great and I have really only the best to say about the wsj, really trustworthy and up to date , If you have the money buy it, I’m always waiting on some action or something to get it for two months for 1$ or so.

Great app but missing some things..... The app overall is elegant and interactive to handle. I think it is the best newspaper app at the moment. HOWEVER, there are some features missing that I find very important... such as the WSJ PRO news tabs. I am subscribed to the AI reviews but there is not way to access the articles directly from the app. It would be nice to see this in a future update

Best journalism anywhere. I love the WSJ. Most of the articles reach much further than the other papers I know of and give a much better insight by giving a large range of facts around the topic. This app makes the articles available anywhere anytime. The navigation is easy. Many thanks indeed.

Top Journalism, but app drains your battery!. In using the app for the last 7 days, it has become the top “drainer” of my battery according to the iPhone statistics, even though I have used other apps for 4x longer, and downloaded much more data via those other apps too. The Programmers need to get on this problem- I already called the customer service line, but the wsj representative clearly didn’t care.

One of the best Newspaper Apps. The content is in-depth, balanced and without any hysterical reporting. However there is one major flaw in the app, the articles one saves for future reading cannot be accessed when viewing the site from ones PC. There is no sync between the 2!

Ok. Good interface and content. However, I get logged out almost daily for no reason and therefore, I don’t get any push notifications. Makes me want to cancel the subscription because I don’t receive any news

Excellent App, focussed news. Can’t stress enough how good the app is from a purely technical POV at presenting the articles, readability and organisation of news. Wether I read on a iPhone or a large iPad, it’s always pleasant. The actual content is obviously very market oriented and political, far more complete and in-depth than pretty much anything I have seen. The paper has a noticeable bias towards conservative/republican viewpoints(not sure if that’s the correct way of phrasing it, it’s not fox by a large margin), especially in the opinion pieces without it becoming too partisan. I have grown to like this even where I do not agree with the opinions since it helps me get a more complete picture combined with other news sources imho.

Bestes US-Amerikanisches Journal. Sehr gute Berichte und Hintergrundinformationen. Man kann sich problemlos in Sachverhalte hineinlesen und bekommt dabei die vorangegangenen Texte angezeigt. Vielfach noch Querverweise zu anderen Themen sowie eine sehr gute Aktualität runden das ganze ab. Besser geht es einfach nicht.

App funktioniert nicht. Online ein Abbo abgeschlossen welches durch die App nicht erkannt wird

Ok but.... Works well in general but I don‘t receive sound alerts for Breaking News any more even though I enabled alerts in general and for Breaking News specifically. This looks like a bug to me. Does anybody have the same problem?

Nicht objektiv. Verglichen mit seriösen deutschen Zeitungen ist das reiner Meinungsjournalismus. Jeder einzelne Artikel ist überlagert durch die „America first“ Ideologie. Keine Spur von objektiver Berichterstattung, keine Nachrichten man sie zum Beispiel von Tagesschau oder Heute gewöhnt ist. Vieles ist blanke Hetze verbohrter Anti-Europäer und Trump-Anhänger. Selbst 1$ ist noch zu viel für das Abo.

ipad App buggy. I don‘t know what you did but for some time now the ipad App (Pro 12.9‘) is super buggy and does not make use of the screen like it used to do (multiple columns next to each other), but centers the article on a third of the screen and you can‘t adjust the font size anymore. Very disappointing, was beautiful once.

Info at your fingertips. A much improved app. Older versions took an age to refresh. Easy to pick and choose what story is relevant to the reader.

Qualität hat extrem nachgelassen. Vor einigen Jahren noch war das mit Abstand die beste Nachrichten App, bei der ich auch gerne für das Abo bezahlt habe. Leider hat die Qualität innerhalb der letzten 1-2 Jahre massiv angenommen. Artikel die früher absolut sachlich geschrieben wurden kommen mittlerweile mit möglichst reißerischen Überschriften und den dazugehörigen Inhalt. Teilweise macht es sogar den Eindruck als würde man sich nicht mal mehr die Mühe machen für die veröffentlichenden Berichte auch nur ansatzweise zu recherchieren. Bei den Push notifications gibt’s die gleiche Entwicklung. Zu Beginn hatte ich eine Menge Kategorien ausgewählt und immer sachliche und interessante Artikel bekommen. Mittlerweile musste ich nahezu alle Themenbereiche deaktivieren und trotzdem bekomme ich noch jeden Tag mindestens zwei Push Benachrichtigungen auf Bild-Niveau aufs Handy. Noch habe ich die Hoffnung dass sich das WSJ irgendwann doch wieder fängt. Bis dahin ist aber zumindest mein Abo gekündigt.

Sad state of US journalism. Biased, blind and cynical.. I subscribed to WSJ for balanced journalism, and hearing ‘the other side’. Don’t expect to get that here. Instead it’s a one-sided, unscrupulous and, worse, unquestioning idolation of Trumpism. All obvious incongruences of Trump are ignored. No consideration no ‘checks and balances’. Very sad to see how low American ‘journalism’ has stooped. WSJ 2020 is like Pravda reborn.

Tech that works. Since two years I’m using the app every day. It’s part of my collection of must haves on the iPad.

High quality journalism. I really love the WSJ it’s a great source for real articles that are a proof of real and investigative journalism. It’s worth every penny and helps to get access to high quality information.

Good luck canceling. Frustrating experience with the WSJ. I am paying for a subscription but when I try to read an article it tells me I need to subscribe. I’m logged in. I’ve considered cancelling my subscription, but there is no way to do it online, you have to call a US number from abroad. Terrible experience.

„Restore Purchase“ leads to „Invalid receipt found“ on iPhones (app works on my iPads). until two versions before it was merely a daily routine to hit „Restore Purchase“ to remind the WSJ app of my App Store-paid subscription - now my iPhones throw „Cannot connect to iTunes - Invalid receipt found, please restore purchases and try again“ (while the daily restore still works on my iPads) The journalism is five stars, but their ecosystem tries hard to scare customers off.

Only half the picture. I know WSJ is a million times more republican than it is democratic but still, I thought it was driven by journalists who dare to give a fair representation of what’s going on in the world. Especially when it comes to financially important decisions. So please cover all the important news, and not forget journalistic bombs such as trumps most recent income tax publications.

Best mainstream content, but tech is lacking. Content is what I pay for and from that point of view WSJ is worth it. Issues are: No dark mode. Every other reader app I have offers dark mode. Why don't you? Articles are dispersed with weird invites to conferences and such, which use the exact same font and size as the article content. So it is super confusing reading about the oil price and suddenly it morphs into an ad, and then back to the oil price.

Tedious Font Size Setting. The App doesn‘t remember the set font size. Every time I start reading a new article I have to manually set the font size from (very) small to large. There is no such setting in the general settings menu. Within one reading session it has to be set again and again in every article. It‘s the first and only app I experienced this rather stupid behavior…

Can't open the app. I have a premium membership on WSJ and have the app on my iPhone. As soon as I click to open the app, it breaks down. Hello? Developers, testers???

not optimized for the large ipadPro. The app is ok...I like the library feature for plane rides but in general I very much prefer the flexibility of the responsively designed web version. Why ? I use an ipadPro 12,7inch and usually prefer the split view. The WSJ does not allow a split view. The app also shows a low resolution version on the large ipad screen (actually a blown up 9inch version). I have no idea why in sooo many years there was not time yet to bring out a version which really adapts to screen size. The FT can do it, the Guardian can do it...even Austrian newspaper apps can do it. Why not the mighty WSJ?? What I don't like at all is that wsj links you click on (e.g. in emails) default into the the app instead to the website. There is also no way to select and copy portions of the articles.... so net, net I have a very mixed feeling about the app. I could do without it except on a plane.....

Loading of update NOT possible. I would need to buy a new Ipad to load the update of my WSJapp! This is frustrating, has not happened with any app before! I have also not got any pre-warning, automatic solution, in case it would not work ... is it, load the app with a new Ipad or leave it?! People at Apple are smiling for sure.

Digitale Zeitung wie sie sein sollte. Leichte Navigation und immer wieder erweiterte digitale Inhalte (zB. Videos zu den Artikeln) bieten einen echten Mehrwert. Wenn man ein Abo abschließt (4 $ pro Woche) kann man die Ausgaben der letzten 7 Tage auch im Offline Modus lesen. Sehr praktisch finde ich die Funktion einzelne Artikel zu speichern.

Cancelling subscription. I have to call customer service to cancel my subscription. Really?!

Confusing. The different categories and no real “front page” make the app unnecessary complicated to navigate. Why having all those different sections anyway?

Tolle app. Die App ist in unterschiedlichen Fonts gehalten, deren Größe skalierbar ist und das finde ich super mit iphone 6 plus. Ich habe das Monatsabo für 22 Euro und lese auf Englisch. Bin sehr begeistert, weil WSJ aus allen wirtschaftlich angeschlossenen Regionen berichtet und die Qualität der Artikel sehr gut ist.

Die Autoren nehmen oft eine etwas andere Perspektive ein als Handelsblatt oder FAZ. Das ist erfrischend Und regt zum selbstständigen nachdenken an. Eine große Zahl der Artikel ist frei zugänglich. Man kann die Beiträge auch einfach weiter mailen oder weiterzwitschern. Mehrmals täglich gibt es Aktualisierungen. Eine der besten Wirtschaftsapps.

super Zeitung, super App. Habe die App runtergeladen, weil das WSJ eine der wenigen Zeitungen mit viel Gratis-Inhalt ist und wurde mehr als nur positiv überrascht. Großartige Artikel mit tagesaktuellen Wirtschaftsthemen. Ich lese die Zeitung täglich und empfehle jedem Wirtschaftsinteressierten den Download. Abo bietet einem die Möglichkeit auf alle Artikel in Deutsch und Englisch zuzugreifen und auf alle Ausgaben der letzten 7 Tage, ich bin bisher sehr zufrieden mit der Gratis-Version, überlege aber ein Abo zu kaufen, sobald ich kein armer Student mehr bin ;)

Sehr zufrieden.... ...bin ich mit der App., auch wenn sie momentan noch einige bereits erwähnte Probleme hat, welche, wie ich hoffe recht bald behoben werden. Und da das Handelsblatt fast schon einer zweiten 'Bild' Zeitung gleicht kann ich nur sagen: macht weiter so!

Most Objective News. Best Newspaper ever!

Wirklich gute Zeitungsapp. Man findet sich sehr einfach zurecht, die Übersicht ist super. Die Titel Seite wird sehr schnell geladen und die restlichen Seiten werden im Hintergrund aktualisiert. Die Videointegration ist auch vorbildlich. Hier können sich die deutschen Zeitungen, wie die Welt HD ein ordentliches Stück abschneiden! Ich bin gespannt, was als nächste Verbesserung kommt.

No international version anymore. Before WSJ offered an international version. Now the app shows that users have to change to US version, as international one will be cancelled. With focus on US domestic news, app and subscription become uninteresting.

Login troubles. While I can access my WSJ subscription in my PC and mobile, the iPad is a different story. I do the normal login but when I want to read an article I receive the message that asking me to subscribe.
