SkuHarmony App Description & Overview

What does this app do?

SkuHarmony keeps your inventory count in perfect sync between one Square location and one Shopify store. For example, if you sell 2 units of SKU-A0001 in Shopify, 2 units will automatically be deducted from that same SKU-A0001 in Square, and vice versa.

Who is this app for?

SkuHarmony is for merchants using Square for their POS and Shopify for their website, who wish to keep their inventory in sync for accurate stock levels and financial statements.

What does this app do?

With a small monthly fee, SkuHarmony receives (via webhook) both Square and Shopify events that affect your inventory. These include: (a) orders, (b) refunds, and (c) manual adjustments. Each time a change is detected on one platform, it is AUTOMATICALLY replicated on the other.

What does this app NOT do?

This app was not designed to keep your product details/descriptions/images/pricing in sync between platforms. This will still need to be done manually. SkuHarmony syncs inventory quantities only.

What's required from me?
  1. You must have the 'Inventory Tracked by Shopify' setting enabled for all products/variants that you wish to have synced.
  2. All of your products/items and variant/variations must exist in both Shopify and Square.
  3. All of your products/items and variant/variations must have matching SKUs assigned in both Shopify and Square.
Troubleshooting
  • If no products show up from Shopify, check that each Product and Product Variant has a unique SKU and a quantity assigned (even zero). Leaving a blank for inventory can cause syncing problems.
  • If no items show up from Square, check that each Item and Item Variation has a unique SKU and a quantity assigned (even zero). Leaving a blank for inventory can cause syncing problems. Also, please ensure that "Tracking" under "Manage Stock" for each variation is checked and that it is available at the location you've chosen to sync using SkuHarmony.
  • Assigning the exact same SKU in both Shopify and Square for each Product/Item Variant/Variation is essential to ensuring a smooth sync. Please check to ensure this is the case before contacting support, as this is the #1 reason users experience issues.

Every time I add inventory to Square, the numbers in Shopify get screwed up. It often goes rogue, altering inventory numbers when no transactions have taken place to change numbers. Auto-sync works sporadically. Heading into the holiday season, I really need to trust the sync between Square and Shopify but cannot with SkuHarmony.

SkuHarmony's customer service is horrible! After deleting the Skuharmony's App, due to its poor performance and the hardships I suffered due to the economic crisis from covid-19, I still got charged. I reached out to Shopify a few days later when the funds came out of my account. Shopify was helpful and understanding. They reached out to SkuHarmony for a much needed refund. This is the response I got from Dustin at SkuHarmony, "I authorize a refund for the SkuHarmony application if it was not performing to the user's expectations, but to request a refund "due to current situation with covid needs the funds back for the subscription" is a bit out of the ordinary. I don't run a charity. Do they have a better reason for requesting a refund?". I am completely turned off by Dustin's reply, simply hurtful. Do we need a better reason than Covid-19 and a pandemic? Unbelievable.

I would honestly give this app a zero because that's what it deserves. It doesn't work. It's customer service is not good and it has made so much more work for me to clean up what it's app broke between Shopify & Square. The amount of duplicates the app has created is ridiculous. They should be paying me to clean up their messes. This app shouldn't be allowed on either Shopify or Square's platforms. It's horrible.

I can completely relate to the other reviews saying that it duplicated their inventory and made a huge mess. However, once I sat down with customer service via zoom and they explained how to fix it, it made so much sense. I run a brick and morter via square and have an online store via shopify and hopefully once I get my duplicate skus edited...this platform will do what it says. It does take time to onboard the two apps. Just make sure you don't have duplicate skus in your inventory or you will have a mess when you merge! Josh in customer service is Super helpful and Id reach out to him if you have questions!

I really love the ease of use of the app! it makes keeping my square inventory connected with my shopify inventory seamless and smooth; the integration and interface are super simple and easy to understand and use. this app makes my busy life just that much easier, and that way i can better serve my patrons!

I needed this app for a transition from Square to Shopify. This is the absolute worst app for this task. Half the time SkuHarmony won't open and the other half of the time it takes a half hour to load just to end up crashing. I do not recommend.

I'm trying to use this app to sync my square brick and mortar and my online, however customer service is so lacking that they don't even write back for weeks to help me get set up. This app is pretty bad. I spent days setting up SKUs and entering inventory. Signed up for the auto sync at $50 a month. It’d be worth that if it worked. Shopify orders aren’t decreasing inventory in Square and Square sales aren’t decreasing inventory in Shopify, except one in about 10 inventory changes (an order for 4 products correctly changed inventory for only one of them). Inventory is randomly being changed for one product with no activity to tel it to do so. I am sad, if this app worked well enough, it’d be great. It’s unusable.

I have been using this app for a couple of years now, I sell online and have a brick & mortar store so for the inventory to be adjusted immediately is imperative. This is an amazing app in a the price range I can handle. First off they have a free plan which makes it soooo easy to do yourself, just a little time consuming or upgrade and let it work for you. I have used other plans and the inventory was ALWAYS off, i trust the accuracy of SkuHarmony. As for the customer service, WOW! What an improvement there! I had somewhat of a hiccup and I got a zoom call from Joshua! Keep up the good work!

If you use Square and also have a website with shopify I HIGHLY RECCOMEND this app! It has made my life so much better! When I add anything to my website I am only One click away from adding to my Square! Anytime i scan something out of my Store with Square this app also takes it out of inventory on shopify and the other way around as well! It is worth every cent! Just download it and see for yourself it comes with a free trail!

It worked for a few months then stopped working. The new support guy told me that my account had been disabled because I had 5,000 items in Square and their new limit is 2,500.

I have a B&M store where I use square and a shopify website plus an ebay store. I don't think the syncing between square & shopify always works. Sometimes we sell an item in store and find it is still on the shopify website. I don't think this app is worth the high monthly price they charge. For this price it should be exact everytime.

Love this - as our business has grown this has saved us from many potential awkward 'out of stock' issues for online orders. Couldn't keep on top of our almost 1000 product lines with out it. Clone function has been really helpful too but find it lumps some products in all together with others of the same brand, where I'd prefer them listed as separate products on the website. Otherwise - fantastic - lifesaving - and super quick support.

Excellent app, It fits my stores needs very well. We use square in our Brick and mortar store but we had a hard time syncing our inventory with shopify but once we started using SkuHarmony keeping our shopify and Square inventory in sync was so much easier. I even use the app to add new product to my square store. Uploading the product to both at the same time makes my life alill less stressful. :) Note: It would be nice if you could search in the square inventory tab for specific items i want to add to shopify store, instead of scrolling through my entire square inventory till i find want in looking for. Also when transferring into square it adds the new items without tax. Then i have to manually go into square dashboard and product to add tax to every new item. That being said its a great app that tremendously helps my business flow more easily. The draw backs are small compared to tremendous gain this app provides. :)

This app is overall an okay app, however a bit inconsistent for my liking, which causes a bit too much duplication of work. Too often I find my inventory levels being manipulated without me touching anything. Unfortunately, it doesn't automatically sync, either, as promised. After I press the sync button, it duplicated inventory which is also duplication of work because I literally need to go in and delete the second item created, which falsifies information. Another thing to note is that when you create an item in Square, it seems to create more issues than working in Shopify. However, on the flip side, when working in Shopify, my Tax settings are not connected and I have to add an additional step to update the Tax settings on the items that were just added to Square. IN ADDITION, THE DESCRIPTIONS NOW DO NOT CARRY OVER. They used to, though. I have been using this app for a few months now and feel I'm giving a full review, as opposed to a review right away. I depend on this app and wish there was something a bit better out there for the same price. Given the constraints, I find it too expensive. Explore other options prior to choosing this one, however note that the sync between the two applications is valuable enough to continue using it, despite having to do it yourself and double check "automated" work. I had this app at 3 stars before dropping it to a 2. Sorry, but a bit too many problems for my liking

A little slow start but once I received help from the app designer things got better. I love how I can sync my shopify store with square perfect for a summer pop up shop I am attending in a few weeks.

It worked great for almost a year, then they updated the app supposedly. The customer service was really lacking. The person I spoke with was very cavalier. (As if it did not mater that my inventories were not synced daily from my POS to my website.) Now, it does not work at all! I went to remove the app to try and reinstall it. The plan I was using is no longer available. But they do have a plan that no costs $49/month. Hmmmm! I think I see where the problem is... Its all about trying to make more money than they were. Will not ever recommend this app.

This app really helped us streamline our operations. We used it to copy all of our products from Shopify to Square and then enabled auto-sync. Perfection!
