Procreate Dreams

Not quite there. I must say I’m disapointed so far. Like many, I find the lack of the tools that made Procreate so wonderful a huge strike. Also very clunky to work in. I will hang in there for a bit longer, but atm it feels like a somewhat slicker version of flipaclip

Not sure. It’s pretty cool that you guys are working on a new app but so far I would prefer the animation in that you can do in the original procreate app. But I’m excited to see what the future will bring this app. I believe in your guys

Glitchhh in layers. It wont let me draw a line on the second layer or others than the first, it glitches and either erases the line or brings back the last line everytime you draw. Its an annoying glitch cause you really cant use the app with this problem…

Just love it.. It is great, but it is annoying that the Apple Pencil keeps changing from draw to erase when I’m drawing. Hope there is a way to block this.

Missing significant key features, but has great potential. The app genuinely has great potential, and already functions well, however it makes most processes in animation way too long due to a significant lack of basic tools, like the lasso tool and move tool. It also doesn’t have undo or redo buttons, something you had to figure out using your fingers to press the screen. This is a bit silly, as procreate had an amazing UI and is by far the superior drawing app on ipad. I wish dreams would rework their UI to be similar to procreate. The app is also overly confusing and chaotic with layers and buttons with minimal indication for what they do, making you have to study the app before you can even attempt to make anything. The onion frames only being shown for the layer you’re drawing on, seemingly not allowing you to see the onion layers for other layers. Still, i recommend the app if you’re very dedicated and already have good experience with similar apps. If not, then i recommend FlipaClip or Rough Animator instead. This app has amazing potential, but due to the significant lack of tools and functions, it almost seems like it was released way too early. Even though, it is quite new, so it isn’t impossible for them to add new features. Looking forward to more from this app, and the Procreate team.

Good, but missing features. The app has lots of good features, but I am missing the lasso tool, move tool, and the perfect shape tool

Something is missing. Ive been experimenting and I don’t know exactly how to feel yet. I wish you could import your own brushes from procreate, as well as having the opportunity to edit the already existing ones to your liking. The layout is interesting but hard to figure out without a tutorial. I personally took almost 10 minutes trying to figure out where the onion skin was. The program keeps kicking me out if I do a lot in a short amount of time and I find It annoying. I’ve seen a lot of people including me, wishing for the opportunity to merge tracks together instead of just grouping them, as well as getting a selection tool like in procreate. Hopefully more functions will be added soon, if not I feel this isn’t worth the money yet.

Key features missing. There are key features within the animation software that are seemingly missing. Like for example then the absence of the lasso tool and copying and pasting layers has not been implemented yet, significantly slowing down the overall workflow. In addition you are unable to customize your brushes like in the parent app I understand that when making an animation app next to the parent app, the developers would have to make sure that the old doesn’t become irrelevant by having the new have the same features. But there are features like the lasso tool 9 feel very strongly should not be locked to a singular app. I wish I knew more about why the app released in the state it did, but here I am without much positive to say after having used the app constantly for a few days

I’m so glad to see improvements. This app is not perfect yet, but the addition of drag and drop layer organization, we’re moving in a much better direction. Brush import/adjustment and lasso tool will make this app much better, but more move options/types would also be appreciated.

The bare minimum and constantly crashing. I’ve used procreate for YEARS and I l have never even considered changing drawing software, love it. But this? I’m just SO disappointed, not only does it constantly crash. I’m talking every 15 minutes or so and I have barely any layers in the file I’m working on. But also, where are all the drawing functions? No lasso tool, can’t merge layers, can’t even change positions of the layers! Editing is tedious, it just lacks so many basic functions. I expect procreate with extra customization but at this point you might as well just use procreate animation and edit it in CapCut or something. I expect some BIG changes in the future updates 😐

Not good. If the same features available in the Procreate app were added to this, then it would be a good app. The only thing this app does better (currently) is the timeline. It is more professional and feels better then procreate animation does. But it does not matter when all the good features from Procreate is gone. Transfer the layout from Procreate, and setting and everything else, incorporate it with the new timeline tool from this app and it should be good

Mye potensial. Veldig bra app men jeg savner å kunne importere børster å kunne fylle opp med farge i omriss med malingsbøtte slik slik som i paint å Procreate.

May be useful in the future. Just animate in Procreate, it´s a 100 times better right now. But a lot of potential here!
