iDEAL is a Netherlands-based payment method that allows customers to complete transactions online using their bank credentials.

iDEAL payments are made through direct online transfer from the customer's bank account to your merchant bank account. Customers can use their mobile banking app or online banking environment. As soon as a payment is made, iDEAL sends you an online payment guarantee so you can deliver goods and services right away.

1. Merchant offers iDEAL as payment method
2. Consumer selects iDEAL and selects their bank
3. Consumer is redirected to their bank's login page
4. Participating bank displays transaction data
5. Customer enters account number and signs the transaction digitally using a 2FA token
6. Bank authorizes transaction in real-time, deducting the amount directly from the consumer's account (if there is not enough balance, the transaction will be refused) Merchant received real-time confirmation of the payment by the bank
