To the point. This paper really go’s deep into all the things I crave to know more about. I learn a lot and enjoy well written stories about the world.

Good content, horrible app. The app is laggy, slow and unresponsive. This is unfortunate, because the content is good.

Ambition does not match execution. Looks great, works barely. Many bugs that make it feel very amateurish. Ultimately dissappointment.

Renewal trouble. Every year the same problem: I loose access because of some cock-up in the subscription renewal process.

Great publication, ruined by poor app choices. Great and interesting articles (5 stars). Annoyed that I’m getting advertising when I have paid for the subscription (minus 1 star). Having to chat to support to end my subscription is really unnecessary (minus two stars)

Bring back playlist. Five star publication, but really miss the playlist function in old app.

Issues with Audio. Very good app but I gave issues with audio

Major audio issues. I love the magazine, but the app and audio has become useless to the point where I am eondering if I should give up on the Economist. I use exclusively the audio and ha e done so for many yeats. My current workaround to make the aidio work is to go into flight mode. Otherwise I can listen to half an article before i get an endless spinning icon.

Greatest magazine on planet earth!. My number one source for factual and sensible information on markets and world politics. Love it!

Impossible to unsubscribe. I tried to cancel my subscription. Even sent a mail to make sure it was cancelled. Got a mail back: Thank you for contacting The Economist and for confirming the cancellation of your subscription with us. However next month they withdrew from my account…….

Audio playback speeds. Please allow other audio playback speeds than 1.0 - 1.5 and 2.0 The gap between those speeds are huge. Instead I suggest for example: 1.0 -1.2 - 1.4 - 1.6 - 1.8 - 2.0

Great app, but needs to allow text selection. Hi Guys, You have done a good job with this one. It has all the good stuff in one place: espresso, daily news and week magazine with audio in one place. Good stuff indeed! It needs however the capability for selecting text allowing for some of the nice iOS features (copy, cut, look up...). With this feature, it will become a 5 Star app. Looking forward to seeing the updated version with text selection capability. Cheers

App has become a mess. Ever since they changed the font on the app in an update a few months ago, swiping actions freeze the app for 10-15 seconds and clicking the "back" button is like rolling a dice. And why does the app take up 994MB of storage (app size 52MB, documents & data 942MB). It's just text and images ffs!

Problems playing audio. This latest version contains a bug that makes it difficult/impossible to play audio. Hopefully a fix will be released soon. Usually a great app with fantastic content.

Great content, terrible app. I’ve been a subscriber for over a decade, but the digital experience continues to let this newspaper down. From automatic downloads that don’t, to downloaded copies that won’t load when out of comms, poor performance, taking an age to generate a gift token, it seems ever aspect of the app is below par. Two stars for an awful app, 5 stars for the content, but as I consume only digitally, that’s no where good enough.

Please remember where I stopped reading. I love the new app in so many ways, but for the love of God, can you please open where I left? This is especially important if I leave the app somehwere inside the «Weekly» section. Exact screen/paragraph would be preferred (like on a Kindle), but even just the same article would be a fantastic improvement. The feature mentioned above is to me the single most important one that lets me consume The Economist in a joyful way every week, and no layout or navigation improvements that you have made (that are great!) can compensate for this. Right now I spend several second finding back to where I left every time I start reading again. Thanks so much for making great content, but please let me find back to where I left quickly so that I can get my nice long-reads back as part of my daily breaks without first having to navigate. I just want to dive right back into it.

Can't buy single issue. Great content, but preferred old app. How is it not possible to buy a single issue anymore?

CarPlay is missing. CarPlay is the missing feature of the app

How to buy single issues?. As The Economist is one of my favourite references in an increasingly unreliable media world, I have been buying the odd issue for years. Subscribing is just too much in my busy schedule. Now that option is apparently removed. Don’t you need my money any more?

Complex cancellation process. There is no button to simply cancel your subscription. When you follow the link for cancellation in app it redirects you to support. It took me one hours in waiting and talking in a chat box to cancel it. Half an hour of answering various questions in a chat box to be able to cancel your subscription felt like an overkill. After this experience I will definitely not subscribe again. As for the app itself - it felt like the Economist got shallower. Too many superficial articles. And the app does not give you any good overview of what is available.

State of the art, technical and content. This app is as leading as the content. Well wort the download and the content are well worth the subscription fee. Keep supporting a free press.

Holder meg oppdatert og opplært med snert. God journalistikk, setter agenda, utvider horisonten, bringer verden og historien nær. Redaktør-styrt media på sitt beste. Mange av bøkene jeg leser oppdager jeg (bare) i omtalene her. Dessuten er appen god.

Listen to news. Much easier and more enjoyable and more convenient to get economic news from my mobile, specially with the opportunity to listen to it when I relax on the coach.

My favourite way to enjoy the Economist. Works well, easy to navigate and few bugs. Really enjoy the audio version while driving.

Latest update completely ruins audio. I love the magazine, but the latest major update of the app has removed several important audio-functions. I am no longer able to make playlists, but now have to listen to the entire magazine from start to end. Big loss of functionality!! Also, there’s several bugs (still) that abruptly restart audio over and over again. Previous version was way better! Please fix the bugs and relaunch playlist function!!

No possibility for audio playlists anymore. I like the app, but it was better before when it was possible to only download selected articles for audio (then you could create playlists of relevant articles). That option doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

Functioning slowly. The economist is great, but it’s app functions slowly and some times it unexpectedly quits. Hope it will be more user friendly and suites for listeners in the next update

Freezes every second swipe. It loads the ads between every page when you read the weekly magazine. This takes ages, specially when offline (and you end up not seeing the ads) If you need the ads, please change to preload, reading the weekly paper is now a terrible experience. Ok if you use it to read articles they come

Messy design. Content is as good as ever, my compliments to the current editor. However, this app design is another step backwards from the time Economist had the best reading app in the entire ecosystem. Please reintroduce clarity, overview and the swiping of pages like in digital books. Scrolling does not allow for a proper reading experience. I dare you to do a test: Which group of readers enjoy the most and retain the most from your articles? App users or paper readers? Edit: Downgraded form two to one star for two reasons: 1) I cannot select edition in the app, it seems stuck to the American edition whereas I would like the European one. 2) The toolbar keeps jumping in and out whilst reading articles. This is so annoying I cannot concentrate. You have two weeks to clarify and/or fix this or I will have to cancel my subscription.
