A disgrace. This app is okayish. However, compared to the 3rd party apps that Reddit ultimately killed off, it’s trash. Been a Reddit user for almost 12 yrs, ever since they killed off Apollo I barely use it anymore.

API pricing. The new api pricing is absurd. Reddit is trying to kill off third party apps like apollo in the most disrespectful way. It’s been a good run but that’s it for me, i’ll find content elsewhere.

Newest update has ruined the experience.. The layout changes in the newes update has ruined reddit for me on iPad. The images/gifs gets so large as a standard that they can´t fit in the screen. First the API changes kills all alternatives, and now they make the original ugly and unusable. Another good concept ruined by greed.

Worse with every update. Was completely functional and pretty good to use around a year ago. Now they keep on randomly changing placements of buttons and removing functionalities. Get an alternative app for Reddit on mobile instead of this. The only reason you would download and use this app is to get constantly frustrated when Reddit decides to randomly swap your layout when you open the app. They do not listen to any criticism, even though they make posts specifically for feedback on the updates.

API Fees. Im uninstalling this app due to the new API fees. Garbage change in policy. If you work at reddit you should be ashamed of yourself and co workers.

Newest version is garbage. Videos dont play and different things load instead of what I click on. I regret upgrading the app

The worst app for browsing Reddit. Ads are injected as normal posts. Video player is maybe the worst I’ve seen. You can’t even filter subreddits.

Ehh ... This needs to be fixed. When I tap on a picture and then swipe to the next one, I get sent back to the first picture when I exit. (Witch happens all the time because I accidentally swipe the picture away) When I have swiped to picture 78, and then exit the picture, I have to scroll all the way down to find where I left off. Fix this, and the five stars are yours ...

Comments. Impossible to see comments on videos when iPad is in landscape view. Really rather annoying wrestling a 12.9 inch screen around every time you want to check what other people are saying. Please fix.

Really bad app. The UI is clunky and bad to navigate. A lot of features are missing compared to mich better apps such as Apollo…

Worse experience than most third party apps. I give this review based solely on Reddit activly pushing out third party apps. Apollo is the best experience in my honest opinion and I will be boicotting Reddit from now.

No option to select video quality. No option to select video quality so videos seem to always be 360p at start then loading to higher quality which makes information at the start of videos impossible to see, due to poor quality.

Killing 3rd party apps. Don’t bother with the official Reddit app, you’re much better of trying out Apollo. apalling. its well known that the reddit app kinda sucks so im not gonna beat a dead horse. i was in the middle of an in depth post about korean prose when the app crashed, followed by a forced update that i didnt consent to (i have automatic updates disabled) and not a single word was automatically saved in the draft. this isnt the first time something like this happens. i never had this issue on other apps that were alternatives to the reddit app, but since we cant have anything good anymore ofc reddit decided to abolish them by enforcing policied that only benefit them. seriously, why wont you take the constructive criticism and improve the app with a full overhaul instead of pushing NFT's and crypto?? to the devs and employees of reddit: dw im not mad at you, thank u for doing ur jobs. seriously. to the reddit higher-ups: hate from norway.

API Pricing. Killing 3rd party applications won’t force the users over to the official one, they’ll just leave completely. Reddit is easily replaceable now that some of the biggest subreddits decide to close down. It was a good run, Apollo.

Quite buggy interactions. I can hear a random videos playing in the background when viewing a ape in video. Have to kill the app and open it again for navigation to work. When there are single dev reddit app projects with much higher quality, highlights the incompetence of the reddit mobile engineers.

Third parties, tiktok format and constant downgrades. They have decided to kill third party apps, the only thing holding reddit together. For some reason they also made reddit «reels»/an annoying tiktok format. All on top of constant downgrades to the app while constantly banning subreddits.

Got Banned. I got permanently banned due to a petty argument after someone reported my account multiple times. The auto moderation kind of sucks, as I never said anything bad to the person i was arguing with. Reddit is a place that is supposed to spawn discussion, and for me to be banned for it sucks given that i had a 2 year old account and 13 thousand Karma.

Don't piss off staff (by being nice). If you enter the field of view of any staff member you will be permanently banned for unfair reasons, no matter how many accounts you make. And they don't have a functional appeal system. In a just world sites like these would not be permitted to ban your speech if it didn't incite misinformation.

I’ve been using custom apps for so long until recently when Reddit blocked their access trying to charge insane prices I’ve tried using the default reddit app but my god the design is absolutely awful, littered with ads and you can barely tell the difference between genuine content and ads

Bug or intentional. Even when videos are muted, if I scroll past an ad it pauses Spotify, which makes it almost useless as I like to listen to music while scrolling through Reddit.

Subtitles. It would be great if subtitles could be available for all videos. Because, sometimes the subtitles don’t make it clear what the video is about.

Forced to use app. Reddit is a pain in the mobile browser, so I finally installed this app. Essentially forces you to download the app if you frequent reddit

Crap. You get banned for literally no reason

Runs in the background. Because Reddit essentially forces users away from its mobile site, I installed the app. I turned off background refresh but it didn’t stop this app from consistently draining my battery when I wasn’t actively using it. It was consistently among the worst offenders of battery usage and it was always labeled “background activity.” Sending data home to the mother ship? Who knows! A quick google search revealed that I am far from the only person to have experienced this. The solution: 1) delete app and 2) find a new place to get content. See ya, Reddit!

Forces to update. Would be great if every time i want to open reddit link from the browser it doesn’t force me to update the app.

Boycott Reddit. Reddit forces you to use their ad infused app and blocks 3rd party apps that works better by enforcing ridiculous pricing policies.

Reddit hates women. Reddit has made a concerted effort this year to ban, without warning, almost all the women-centred subreddits. Whilst allowing almost all rape-centred pornographic subs to remain untouched. Please take your time and attention to a different platform, Reddit has made its feelings clear.

Worst Reddit app. This is the absolute worst app for reddit. Apollo (and other third party apps) was fantastic. Screw reddit and spez.

Workable as a browser, really janky when commenting.. When just browsing and up/down dooting it’s generally usable, even if there are a few things that just don’t work, including some notifications that don’t get you where you’re supposed to go (though at least generally you get to the correct subreddit, even if it misses the post completely). The links most if not all moderators use to point out where you went wrong, don’t work and require you to open a proper browser. Commenting is kinda useless beyond twitter sized replies, as editing the text tends to break everything and make the app really confused wether you have entered text or not. (:if I try to leave the post, it asks me if I want to discard, if I just type a single letter, autocorrect tries to show me the last word I was writing with that added letter even if text box with comment is gone, and hitting the reply icon again and typing a character before hitting reply button (text, not icon) leaves you with a 1 character reply in a random place with the app still asking if you want to discard your comment when trying to leave the subreddit. My suggestion: the core team and the app team should probably have a meeting about how they communicate with each other. I generally like the site though, even if this app is a huge frustration.

New videplayer is awful. So for anyone thinking of downloading: dont expect to watch any vids. Since they rolled out a new videoplayer about a month ago (which is eerily similar to TikTok’s) its become practically impossible to watch videos. Opening the wrong video, comments being impossibe to access, impossible to scroll through different videos, and sometimes when you DO get to see the comments, the end is cut off. Oh and also the comment section is either off or takes up half the screen. Please for the love of god revert it back.

Sorry excuse of an app. Let me ignore, block and remove the low quality ads you keep serving me, if you don't wanna quality control them yourselves.

Moist garbage left languishing in the summer sun. Reddit is a midden heap. It once hung on by allowing capable programmers to develop third party, usable apps. Now Spez can not see though his own greed and actually resorted to blasting out harmful lies about many good people. The communities are dead or dying. The app will kill your battery, and good luck seeing actual content through all the nonsense.

Buggiest app I know. If I were to point out the worst app on my phone in terms of bugs, it would without a doubt be Reddit. Random videos start playing in the background, some videos won’t start playing when you want them to, some content won’t show up. And the most annoying of them all is if you tilt your phone, it scrolls you far up. Get another app to use reddit
