Keeping track of our aquariums can ultimately be one of the most important parts to the 'reef keeping' hobby. Maintaining husbandry tasks, testing, stability, water changes, inhabitant stats etc. are all vital to keeping successful aquariums.

Pocket Marine was designed to make inputting, storing and keeping all information with you at ease. Often, any issues that we have with our aquariums can be linked to actions that were performed a short time beforehand. For this reason, a log of changes made, actions performed or additions can be vital when trying to decipher a problem that may be in play. Pen and paper has always been a great way to keep this information at hand but, Pocket Marine offers a place to store this somewhere that, this day and age, is with us at all times.

Not just for tracking events. Pocket Marine is a great way to help you log your inhabitants into specific tanks, record your latest water change for your mixed reef tank or simply log your latest maintenance action performed on the fish only office tank. Recording your information couldnt be easier and keeping it on your mobile device saves on that frantic search incase of needing the information at a later date.

Help with that last second impulse buy at the store. With an in depth library of over 800 species of fish, invertebrates and coral and being added to daily, you will always have the information on hand that you need to make that informed decision on a purchase.

We hope you enjoy using the app and that we can help with your success in the hobby and welcome any feature requests you may have.

Happy Reefing!

Good app but still room for improvements. After trying out all the available reef keeping apps I’m sure this is the one with the best UI and design, others look plain and outdated, but the thing is, I don’t get why the parameters shown on the main page can’t be changed all at once, there could be a default setting to choose certain parameters on the 9 squares, or just show the first 9 you record in. For me, I don’t usually test my NO2 and NH3, and it’s a bummer I have to change them to PO4 and something else all the time. Another thing is the graphs aren’t that easy to read, you need to drag and drag to find the right parameter and then drag once more to check out the whole timeline

Love it, but have a question. Love this app and have been using since restarting (2 months) from a farrow tank of 2 years. Have been using the app to document tests, list fish wish list, and other important research. Can I sink my phone and iPad version? UPDATE: Quick response from developer that there is a plan to allow sincing between devices in the near future. Very satisfied here.

Very Good. The app is very helpful but when I click on the soft corals tab the app crashes. Edit: The developers were very helpful in helping me fix the issue and now the app is fully functional. This app is a must have in terms of keeping track of your reef.

Great tracking app. Love how easy it is to track my levels.

Worth the money!! It’s perfect. This app does everything. It is so easy to keep track of it all. Worth every cent! Definitely needs to be checked out.

Needs more fish species info... and needs a little editing.. The image for the Picasso trigger is incorrect. Would love to have more species in the information area. Like: Doryrhamphus excisus, strawberry crab, Monodactylus argenteus, Blue Ribboned Demoiselle, Halloween hermit crab... etc Also it would be nice to be able to see the full extent of the notes input in the inhabitants diary. And have the data be backed up some how in case of a phone crash (caused by dropping it in the tank accidentally.)

Fantastic app with some minor issues. First of all, I just want to say this is the best app I have found for tracking parameters as well as keeping information on all of my tanks. One of the biggest issues I found with other apps is that they only let you have one or maybe two aquariums able to be stored or if you have more they make you pay. As we aquarists know we typically have at least two, probably more tanks, so this app caters to us. The first issue I have with this app is probably something they could fix and it’s the default parameters that appear when you go to log them. Only nine parameters are showing at any one time and if you want to see other ones, you need to change which ones appear. It’s unfortunate that ammonia and nitrite are set to default to appear since most people don’t commonly check them. Every time I want to check/see my phosphate levels I need to go under the visibility filter and swap out either the ammonia or nitrite and then select phosphate in its place. Kind of annoying because it’s something I have to do multiple times a week. If they let us change the default parameters, this issue would be solved. The only other minor complaint I have is under the databank of fish and corals sometimes they don’t have what I’m looking for. They just need to have an update where they include more fish, coral, and invertebrates. Overall, the app is pretty fantastic and worth the minor charge for it. I never pay for apps, but this is one that I am glad I purchased.

Need some help !!. How to change liter and temperature to gallon and Fahrenheit in the details page. I see an image in your website about us page where the blue tang picture shows in gallons and Fahrenheit but I don’t see an option in the app to change this setting. Excellent work on the app overall. Brilliant Design!!

Great app. I really enjoy the app. It helps keep track of testing and maintenance. It also provides a lot of information in regards to species. I would like to see more categories on the calculator such as ppm to dkh or NO3- to NO3. Little things like that would help so that the app can be used for any test or parameter measurement. I also think it would bring a little more content to some of the thinner features in the app.

Love this app.. This app has made it easier for me to manage my reef. I hope they add some more features like being able to add all your tank and inverts and then select something new to add. It would show any issues with any inhabitants I have more suggestions if the dev wants them! Absolutely love the app!

Good for basics. This app is good to keep track of inhibitants and aquarium maintenance. However, when you put in more than one of the same species of fish at the same time, it only shows up as one fish. Ex: my trio of scissortails only showed up as one fish even though I entered three on the quantity. It also doesn’t take into account the different fish of the same type in comparability. Ex. Wrasse are not compatible with wrasse. You don’t have an option to add what kind of wrasse and sometimes they are perfectly safe together depending on species. Good for basics. Not good for details. Hope this helps.

Love it but would like another feature. I love this app it’s very useful for many reason, but one feature I think would fit nicely would be like an average price of the specimen.

Loved app until 4 months of test results deleted. I have been loving this app since I’ve had it over 6 months. Just today, the app got rid of 4 months of test results for no reason. What is the point if glitches and deletes all of my saved tests and resets the default ranges.

Great concept. I thought it would be more informative as far as species go. If you are getting it to help you with info on fish, coras, and other stuff you might want to keep looking.

Great App. A lot of good info!

Yesssssssssss!. Honestly I don’t have anything Major to complain about. The only thing I can say is it automatically assumes that you have a sump.

Beautiful App. I actually love this app and the look is so much more modern and friendly than other alternatives. I just wish so badly I could share and access the data across multiple devices. When I test the tank I want my boyfriend to see results on his phone and when he tests I want those records too. I don’t know why but this is something all of the best thank management apps seem to be missing. I mean, it’s 2023 people… love the app though.

Avoid. Numerous bugs & usability issues.. Wow, really surprised a paid app that is so highly reviewed and has been around for many years is filed with so many bugs. I’ve used the app for a few hours and was left very frustrated. e.g. when trying to edit the targets / range of temps for viewing the trend graphs, and selecting say 75 degrees Fahrenheit for the low, it picks a random degree Celsius and then crashes. If you scroll the never ending list of values to finally reach 35ppt that starts at 11, it crashes. This is reproducible. Come on! It’s like no one actually uses this app or tested its UX. I can’t be the first app user who switches values from C to F or gets annoyed with an endless scroll for 5-10 seconds just to select 35, 34.9, or 35.1 ppt, every time. This app takes much longer than an spreadsheet or even paper and pencil. Lots of room for improvement; avoid for now.

Nice App. I really like this app. Has a lot of information on hand about different Inhabitance. It would be nice if we could turn off some test if you don’t use them so they don’t show up when you email. It would also be nice to be able to sync between multiple devices. Auto tank calculations would be a nice additional feature.

Excellent!. This app is very handy for recording your maintenance history including water changes and a plethora of water quality tests performed. Good basic info on a variety of livestock available to the hobby with detailed information that is well suited for the novice or intermediate reefer...Great for the low tech hobbyist. It seems the developers have a very solid vision for this sweet little app. They are actively updating it regularly and so I cannot wait for full maturity! Thanks.

Worth it!. Really great app to help log, monitor, create a critters diary, and several other parameters of your saltwater system all in one place!

It is ok ... but solid value for money. I think it works ok and seems to track the info well I wish the graphing showed the target range so I knew If I was in or out of range And the directory of coral is not as good as I thought

Awesome app. Crashes on me when I got to soft corals

OK App - Needs Detailed Improvements. The app in general is helpful. It’s worth the $3 or whatever it is. However, it has many small annoying bugs throughout. When you enter a maintenance note, the dates always enter in a random order (sometimes mo/day/year, sometimes day/month/year) sometimes year/day/month), so your notes are never sorted correctly. Tank parameters are sometimes a mess: missing temperatures to select from, and it colors parameters such as a pH of 8.2 red (as in bad) and not green (ok) as it should be.

Very unhappy recently. The app keeps crashing when I go under clean up crew and or the soft coral categories. Please look in to this issue. Thank you, other than that it is a great tool for me. Still not working for clean up crew! 1-30-20

Add wish list!. Love the app, but hoping creators will add a wish list! I want to be able to favorite fish.

Good but.... It’s a good app. Worth the price. I only wish they had a settings page where you could change the dark background to white with black type. It’s difficult to read in some lighting conditions.

Great App still needs some improvements. This is an awesome app! It tracks just about anything you would need or want to track. There are some improvements that would push this over the 4 stars -Test Diary:Allow users to set the “preview tiles” in the testing diary as a default view for them. I don’t test all the app’s’ default parameters and am forced to manually configure what I want to see as a “quick view” every time I enter test results - Test diary: graph is great. However it would be great to see multiple parameters as an overlay of each other to get a better view of balance. For example I’d like to see PO4 and NO3 to see how they correlate with each other in one graphic view. It would also be nice to have the ability for us to export to an excel spreadsheet as well Habitant diary: it would be awesome if we could enter the fish store’s name and info in our user database so when we do add new livestock, the “where purchased from” can be a drop down for frequently used shops instead of manually entering in info with different variances for the same store. Other than that, this is an awesome app. Thanks for making it!

Great app for reef/marine enthusiasts. This app is a great resource for new refers like myself. A great add to this would be to be able to add fish etc to an aquarium directly from the encyclopedia entry.
