Permanent pairing with dash cam. My family has 2 cars, one has a dash cam. I like it cuz then the phone does not sit in the window and over heat. The other car only has a mount for the phone in the window. In an update the app now ONLY searches for dash cam. It will not stop searching and revert to recording from phone like it used to. So when I use other car, app will not work. Nexar’s unhelpful solution is to delete the app and reinstall! Ok thanks - a pain to do on the fly. Fine, I did that. It works. Then I go to the the first car and it automatically pairs again to the dash cam. Now it won’t work again in the 2nd car. SO frustrating. I cannot be the only family with more than one car. Seems like it would be easy to check Bluetooth connections and see that the phone is connected to a different car. Or even a button to kill the search and revert to phone camera recording.

Nexar became crap when I switched iPhones. So I bought this early February and was working like it should until a week ago. I upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro Max and it started not working like it should. Prior I had the iPhone 8 Plus. Didn’t have an issue then. Once I had reconnected my iPhone’s wifi to the dash cam it started not letting me connect to it. I went and logged out of the app and disconnected the WiFi as well. Reconnected it hoping it would work but it didn’t but for some way or another it connected finally to my new iPhone. The other thing that I dislike before I changed iPhone’s was it was able to stay on recording without any issues. Now it won’t stay recording if even I’m on standstill at a light. It turns off after a few minutes which is irritating. Goes on whenever I move and turns off continuously. I hope you fix this nexar.

Glitchy software. Ive had my Nexar for a few years now. It was great in the beginning and the camera quality is very good, however the software gets really glitchy. I’ve had issues with auto recording for seemingly no reason when nothing has changed. More recently I’ve had issues with the ride uploading to the cloud (twice in March alone) which is a huge cause for concern. I was involved in a traffic incident and just as my luck would have it, my camera glitched and did not capture the incident, even though the camera had started recording and had been streaming for 30 minutes. Stay away if you’re worried about it not capturing the crucial moments! Support staff couldn’t do anything about recovering the missing footage (nice). They get 3 stars for customer service but lower rating for glitchy software.

Update burns though battery. I have had this dash cam for near two years if not more and really it’s been a let down the whole time of having it. seeing that the only accident I’ve been in wasn’t even recorded cause it wouldn’t pair with my iPhone like many other times I fought with it. If you drive for more than an hour, forget it you won’t see your drive, so imagine how stupid you’d look in the event of needing your footage and “oops” it didn’t even save….Every app update seems to make it work less and less each time much like this update. I would drive my 50+ mile commute to work my phone would be RED HOT and my battery would be at 50%. (a big no go for a guy who has to rely on his phone a lot) (iPhone 12 pro)… I had to uninstall the app to save my phone from needing a new battery. Needless to say I’m going to take this garbage and punt it in to the highway and hope it gets ran over.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!. I own two of these Nexar dash cameras and I've had problems for over a year now. It took forever to get them to work, but as soon as the app updated I have two cameras that are nothing but problems. Every day it happens with one camera or the other. The camera won't record, or the app won't record. I drive a truck in the motion picture business, and I cannot be fumbling with a phone or a camera as I start driving. It is against the law to handle a phone when I drive especially in a truck, and I also had an incident that was not recorded because of product failure. Technical support is terrible. You can only email somebody and if you're lucky someone gets back to you in a little over a day. in order to get out a specific email you have to fight with a robot who tries to give you solutions until you finally are able to send your solution to them. Then you get a response that has basically the same responses that the robot gives you. It is an absolute waste of my time fighting with these cameras, and also tired of the frustration. Wasted 200 bucks. Kind of bad, when you're in the middle of a recession, and I have to go out and look for other cameras to stay safe from accidents and road rage

Nice Dashcam Terrible Battery User. The camera works great, beautiful movies, clear videos. I love how it starts right up when I open my door, and is pretty much ready to record right off the start. However, the program is insistent that you have location services on at all times, and if you don’t have it on, it messages you telling you that you are missing out on you experience with the recording device. So you turn it on to the point of using it when you are using the program, but it is still insistent that you turn on location services all the time. So it is my belief that the program has a design flaw that makes it keep the location services on and runs down the battery. Unfortunately, for the company, if there isn’t a fix before long I will quit using Nexar and use a competitors camera that I also bought, although was going to give for a gift, but may give the little used Nexar instead.

Great little app. I have used a few different camera/app combos and always found them to be a pain in the behind, especially hated having to either pull the SD card to transfer to a computer or wait for the slow download from the camera to the phone, those things are history with Nexar...the camera is small enough and needs no user intervention so you can place it behind the mirror and out of sight....the video starts recording just about immediately (or as soon as you’re able to get off your Wi-Fi and allow it to connect to your phone) and it’s available for playback as soon as you arrive to your destination...crisp, clear and easy to scrub to the desired spot of necessary . I’ve seen complaints about being unable to use your data but that depends on your phone/carrier limitations...I use AT&T and have no issues whatsoever.

Battery Drainage With No Fix. I got my Nexar One a few months ago and noticed my phone battery would drain. I started looking up this issue to see if there was a fix, but all I saw was over a year of people complaining about this issue with no real fix. After playing around with the app, the figured out that the issue is the streaming of the ride that happens within the app every time you start to drive. I got through to support to see if there was any way to stop the app from streaming my drive automatically, but support was no help. Their remedy for the battery drainage is to shut down location services so that it won’t drain my battery. That’s not a fix. In fact, it’s in inconvenience. Their remedy is for us to manually turn the app on when we start driving. That doesn’t fix the battery drainage while driving either. So my fix for now is to manually turn off the streaming when I start my drive. That fixes the issue. Just a quick click of the “X” on the stream. Why is that even an option? Who wants to watch a stream of the drive as they’re driving?! If support wants to help themselves, add an option to permanently turn off streaming. It doesn’t affect the recording at all. It should be off by default. Trust me people will enjoy their dash cam much better if you implement this fix. I love the camera, I just hate the app and the support.

Meh at best. It’s a good dash cam (been using it for a few years now) but the app is absolute garbage. In order for it to work you have to let it use your location 24/7 which drains the battery (it’s constantly the highest battery usage despite barely using the app). I created shortcuts to automatically start and stop drives when I connect to CarPlay but if the location is off I get an error of “something went wrong” so then I don’t have any drives recorded. I also hate the fact that it will “reserve” space on your phone even though there aren’t enough drives stored locally to warrant 20% of phone space (lowest setting). Before I could delete drives locally and keep them on the cloud but now it’s an all or nothing for both. I just feel there’s a lot of improvements they could make so the app is more phone friendly. I have contemplated using an old device just for the camera to pair to in order to save wear and tear on my phone’s battery and storage

Great camera, okay app, terrible communication. If you don't give the app permission to access location services all the time, it will constantly badger you to turn the option on. Every time you launch the app, you have to tell it no. It will send you push notifications at random times, telling you to turn on location services. It WILL SEND YOU TEXT messages asking you to turn on location services. The explanation is that they want to more accurately turn on and off autorecordings. I see no need for this as the camera is continuously recording locally when I turn it on and I always turn on the recording in the app manually. I said NO and don’t want to be asked again. There is no need for a camera that is sitting in my car to have access to my whereabouts at any given time in the day. This is a horrible feature and serves barely any function as the app uses the phone’s accelerometer to start recordings with no issue. DO NOT DOWNLOAD if you appreciate your privacy.

Great Dashcam. The Nexar dash cam is a needed departure from the others that rely looking at a very small screen or require removal of the memory card and inserting into another device to view the video of your driving experience. Unfortunately, this is usually at another location long after the event (i.e. crash) has occurred. To me, it is important to be able to immediately view (and show to police) my incident ON SITE on my smartphone screen while the initial police investigation is being conducted. The Nexar dash cam stores your entire drive and events on your smartphone’s internal memory as well as in the dedicated Nexar cloud storage. The video resolution is great. There are many other great features which are too numerous to list here. If you have ANY issues or questions with the cam the Nexar customer service is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. They are responsive, courteous, and provide accurate answers.

Crap. UPDATE: I was in touch with support and they offered me a prompt refund as I was not interested in troubleshooting anymore. Updating star rating from 1 to 3 This camera was fine until I got a new truck. My truck has continuous power to the USB even when the engine is off. I park it in my garage that is up against my living room. Since installing this in my new car, I have had an incredible amount of issues. When I get in the car, I have to physically turn the camera on, if I forget, I miss half of my drive. When I get home, I get constant notifications for hours about my camera recording the inside of my garage door. If I tell it to end the drive, it immediately starts back up again. Since updating the app, it has destroyed my phone battery. The other day, my phone went from fully charged to under 20% in 2 hours, where I was only driving for 30 min of those two hours. It’s constantly turning off and on and killing my phone, and support just keeps telling me to update the app. I’m ready to toss this thing in the garbage. I better get a refund on this.

I don’t know anymore. I’ve had this dash cam for about 6 months and I’ve just become irritated with it. The camera doesn’t end up recording at all. I would average about 2 out of every 10 drives would miraculously record something (even if it was less than 3 minutes of footage) because the app would just crash in the background and I would get a constant “Drive Started - Tap to Drive There with Nexar” notification pop up on my phone so many times throughout my average 45 minute commute. It crashes every 10 seconds, I know for a fact because it makes my music go silent-- not pause, but just go low in volume as if I received a text message with the ringer off. I would have to go into my phone, go to the Nexar App, let it crash by itself, open it back up and manually close the app myself, re-open the app, then hit record drive to somewhat fix the issue but it would just end up reoccurring. Doing all those steps is not safe when driving. Since that keeps occurring, it makes my iPhone overheat which causes it to lag as well as my Apple CarPlay, and two or three times it caused my phone to entirely reboot by itself. It makes me want to buy a different dash cam but none have all the features as Nexar does. That was the reason I bought this camera in the first place. I just don’t know what to do.

App Needs REAL Updates. Major bug with iOS 9 device (Yes, using this device as a second phone) and ever since version 4.0.3, iOS 9 keeps crashing - Tested all newer versions which only lead to crashing. Works on my iOS 11 device though. Please fix this DEV. Besides the flaw, somewhat disappointed that although you can have the device AUTO record for you without having to open the app each time you drive, it records video that LAGS. Upon looking in the cloud, the lagged footage is in TIMELAPSE. Why are all these features controlled by the admin of the app and not the client? Personally, I want the app to record all full drives, no edits, no lag, keep things simple... Also, the website login can be so much more improved on. Extremely limited. Provide more intel on each video, memory size, speed logs, data accessible to user. Other than that, the only solution is to keep full videos with no lag is have the app running full screen (Which anyone with one phone will quickly find this is near impossible if you need to answer calls, texts, GPS while on the go) - Hence using 2 phones, but the iOS 9 issue is crippling my options - Thankfully found an older IPA online and got the app to run for now.

Well worth the price! (free). Considering most decent quality dash cams go for $50+, this app is outstanding. I’ve been using it with my iOttie iPhone holder and sure it’s a bit shaky but that’s only to do with my set up. It still gives good results and would provide sufficient evidence in case something did happen. I like the clip feature by tapping the screen a lot too. The only issues I’ve encountered is sometimes there’s a issue where if you’re playing music out of your car speakers the app will sometimes switch the audio to your phone speakers for some reason. After some force restarting and messing around you can usually get it back. Besides that the app will occasionally crash during recording but this is rare and can usually be spotted and fixed. It’s a bit awkward to do while driving however so if anything could be improved that would be my choice. The addition of MPH monitoring would be cool for playback but that’s just nit picky. Thanks for offering a great free dash cam app!! Please don’t stop updating lol this is a awesome thing to have.

App is terrible, integration with camera is terrible. The dash cam itself is fine. Kind of hard to screw up a camera, I guess. But the app is absolutely terrible, and the way that it syncs with the camera is pitiful. Every time I get in my car, a new drive starts recording and that’s good. But, if there were any incidents that the camera recorded while I was parked, they don’t download until you stop driving. Which means after you’re finished driving, you have to sit in your car and wait for all of the videos to sync to your phone or else they just sit in the camera. You’re telling me that during my 30 minute commute, two videos can’t be synced to my phone simultaneously while it’s recording my current drive? Then, after you sit there waiting for 87 videos to download, it tells you the connection failed and to try again. So now you have to sit there for another 30 minutes in your parking lot trying to get some stupid videos to download on your phone. The way that this dash cam is designed to work with the app and your phone is abysmal. For the amount of money they charge, to call this a “smart“ dash cam is really a lie.

Great investment. 2 1/2 years ago my wife was struck in her drivers door while attempting a left hand turn. She was leaving an entryway for a McDonald’s onto a 2 lane road with a center turn lane. Since it was a red light at the corner, a car stopped to let her out. As she was competing her turn another car went into the turn lane to go around the stopped car and struck my wife. My wife was held liable because it was “he said, she said”. After that accident I bought Nexar dash cams for both our cars. Recently I was attempting a left turn. As I was entering the intersection the light turned yellow. Before I could complete my turn I was struck on my drivers side by an oncoming car. I was found at fault for not yielding to oncoming traffic. After I was able to, I checked my footage since I couldn’t remember the details of the crash. My video showed the other vehicle enter the intersection on red, not yellow. I also pointed out the fact that the drivers headlights never dipped which happens when there is a sudden deceleration. Just something to look for. The driver later admitted that he was accelerating to beat the light. Because of my dash cam footage the other driver was found 100% liable. Thank you Nexar for a quality product that saved me thousands of dollars.

Wish it had 1 feature. First of all I love this camera so much. Only wish for 1 feature. I wish it had the option to erase the “new parking incidents” without having to sit there and wait for it to download to erase. I open my doors all the time and it always counts as a parking incident and whenever I turn my car on I have like 63 parking incidents and I don’t get to delete them until they all download first. You need to have the app open and not just in the background but just open as the main app for it to download. It takes up space and time when all I want to do is delete them. And even when I do wait 10 minutes to download them all I can turn my car on again a minute later and all the incidents come back up. So idk if my camera is faulty or the app doesn’t work because it wouldn’t have deleted anyway. Wish they made a feature where I can just delete the backlog right away.

Fantastic Support. I purchased my cam a little over a year ago and now do not feel safe driving without it. I enjoy the quality videos it provides. I found it easy to set up and use. The few times until now that I contacted support, they were always helpful and quick to respond. Recently I had an issue with my windshield suction adapter. I contacted support. They explained to me that the unit was out of the standard 1 year warranty. However after a few questions and and comments, they stepped up and said they would be happy to replace the part. Just a few days later the part arrived. I was hoping for that outcome but with the poor support most companies are providing these days, I was amazed to find a company that shares these exceptional values. As inexpensive as this unit is, one would not expect such great support! They have earned any of my future business of this type product.

Best company ever. I have never had a problem one time with my nexc1 dash cam I love mine it takes super clear videos day or night if I could rate the camera higher than a 5 star I would. Also the features is amazing that is included that they give you with each camera. It could truly also save your life one day if In a accident sending out alerts to whom you pick. It’s already saved me from a close call, and a ticket for red light violation when the cop was so sure I’d ran the red light but when I told him I had not and not being smart with him I said I can show you on my camera when I showed him with in just seconds he said wow that camera is amazing and wanted to know where I found that at that he wanted one it’s better then the one in his cop car and I have to agree having worked in LE this camera is in ways a lot clearer than the dash cameras iv had in my past. Recommend to anyone it’s very easy to install and the customer support is amazing if you ever need them for anything.

Double Whammy. Camera was good for awhile. Now it barely works and I have to spend time every few days resyncing and reinstalling the app. Customer service was friendly but no resolution was found after 45 emails. In addition to those emails, they had me basically QA the product for them. In total I think I had to take 6 15 minute drives over the course of the emails. Solely to test their “solutions”. No solution was found so they offered me a 20% discount. Yea…why would I be interested in giving this company more money after their dash cam had failed in less than 2 years. The double whammy is that the app is a total battery drain. Even with “optimize battery” option checked. This app made my phone super hot. iPhone 14 pro max battery doesn’t stand a chance. The amount of heat this app generates will have a significant impact on your batteries life span. I want this product to work, the UI and work flow is convenient when it works. It’s too bad that their cameras basically become inoperable in less than 2 years and the heat generates by the app will cause irreversible damage to your phone battery.

Great support.. I placed an order for the camera and received it within three business days to the mail on upon opening the package I didn’t receive everything that it said it would I didn’t receive the SD Card and contacted customer support they replied with in a few minutes and sent me a replacement Sd card. I had purchased the camera through Facebook ad and thought I was eligible for the rebate when I registered my Camera says I was in eligible cause I didn’t purchase the rebate offer contacted support support so they will look into it and get back to me if you days because they had to check with the team they approve the rebate and receive my rebate within a couple days overall for a very semi-decent camera and good support I would recommend this to other people. Overall very friendly and informative team. Thank you Nexar team

WARNING! DO NOT BUY! Too many problems!. My boyfriend purchased two cams, one for my car and one for his, in hopes that we could be in a “group” together. At first we loved how cool all of the features were on the app, but then things turned for the worse. Well we set up the cams and all was working fine until I realized I wasn’t getting notifications when my boyfriend drove. I contacted support, and every message in the thread was from a different person. Almost all of them telling me to send a screenshot of nexar in my settings to prove I wasn’t just missing something I guess??? Well anyway they told me the developers put out a new version for the app to fix my problem, so I updated the app and ran into more problems. Now my boyfriends drives weren’t showing at all on my app (same with me on his app), and on top of that it doesn’t save clips of drives (only the whole drive) AND the whole drive has bits and pieces of choppy, laggy footage. Looked online and almost everyone is saying they’re having the same problems as us (along with additional problems). It’s outrageous that they are even selling this underdeveloped product. My boyfriend is working on getting us a refund right now and we will be returning this product with no intentions of purchasing from this company again.

If you’re asking yourself, “Should I Buy?”. Out of the box it’s easy to install, extra long wiring to help conceal and keep from being tangled up. Amazing clarity! WIFI connection works well, too. I bought the Pro version because I drive for long periods, and encounter dangerous motorists daily. Having Nexar will protect me, whether it be insurance claims or police reports. That makes for a less stressful drive because now I have Nexar as backup. What about other brands? Well, I’ve owned other cameras that required a lot of fidgeting and button pushing that are now in my junk pile. Nexar does most everything automatically and not a bunch of button pushing involved. Integration with your smartphone makes it even superior because now you have records on the cloud. The SD card size only involves how long your recordings last before looping. Any incident will get recorded automatically. So there is no fear of losing your recordings. One button switching to alternate between recording the road or the cab (front seat) I have mine positioned to capture the back window when cars are approaching at a high rate of speed. Audio even works well. There’s just too many pros to pass this product up!

App takes forever to start. Crashes sometimes. Doesn’t save GPS info.. I don’t know how you guys completed the spring cleaning. This newer version is a piece of crap. I’ve never written a review regarding this app cause all this time it was working as described. Now the latest version takes forever to start. And after it does. Occasionally crashing at startup. After it does start working at the end of the trip this latest version says GPS info unavailable. With the last version at least this working. Since the last version the orientation has also messed up. I record my videos in landscape. After I mount my phone in landscape and start recording. It records fine. However after I end recording and start the recording again it’ll record in portrait while the phone is still on landscape mounted. This issue started in the last version and has passed down to this. I miss the earlier versions of this app when you guys had just started. Not to mention super fast startups. I think I’ll switch to another dash cam app.

Great price ,clear video but terrible after every update. I thought I hit the jackpot with the price of this front facing camera and the app seemed easy enough to navigate and the picture was crystal clear but unfortunately after every update everything goes south and the camera along with pairing to the app become such a headache after every update everything unpairs you’ll be driving for 30 minutes and not realize your camera isn’t paired and then pull over and follow all the steps with so much trial and error doing the same over and over on and off on and off always claiming something went wrong please try again oh the WiFi this the WiFi that please check your WiFi just a bunch of nonsense then you try the same thing over again and poof it what’s again till this last update when it never paired up again that I actually had to contact customer service which gave me the seem steps to follow to no results so frustrating and annoying after every update such a pain

Recent update. This is my third Nexar dash cam and it all worked fine up until this update where the camera will capture clips while the car is off if motion is detected. That’s cool and all but when I go to actually start the car it will try to download all those clips to view them instead of just immediately recording the way it used to so now I have to manually go into the app and press stream video and cancel the downloads. So if I happen to forget once and I get into an accident where it wasn’t recording, I won’t have any evidence. It’s already happened once where I forgot and started driving and some moron turned left in front of 2 lanes of traffic and almost hit me if I didn’t swerve out of the way. Looked at the dash cam and it had both the green and blue light meaning it was recording but surprise surprise I open the app and it wasn’t. I’m leaving it at 1 star until they make an option to stop motion detection clips or just remove the feature all together.

Great system with awesome support. I’ve had this camera system in several vehicles now. The same system, I remove and then reinstall when I change vehicles. It has always worked as intended. Whenever I’ve had questions, their team has always answered promptly and professionally. Recently, I had an issue where I was no longer getting my drives recorded to my phone. I reached out once and Evette fixed the problem instantly. I had been using my iPhone for a hotspot so the grandkids could play their switches going down the road. This is a no no lol. Anyhow, back in business. Thank you. I do with they had the speed recorded all the time as well as constantly recorded inside image to phone as part of the drive. But, if there is an incident the speed is recorded and you can get the inside view if needed.

Nexar Pro. One thing can be said for doing your due diligence: researching this before buying it for me, a skeptic in life, has ultimately paid off. I’ll set the stage: we had just bought a vacation package for out of state and also recently bought a new vehicle that was light years ahead of our old one, in every way. The only thing we were lacking was a way to stay covered and protected as we traveled. Everyone has heard the tales - two motorists in collision - both disputing fault - insurance says make your own repairs and that’s not cheap these days, unless you’d prefer a back alley patch job instead of top shelf care with a price to match. This is the fix - get a quality dash cam. These days the price point varies, with entry level models leaving much more to be desired and quality models being much closer to the consumer. The decision was easy, and 3 days later (springing for expedited shipping was only $30 extra), a grand total of 20 minutes in the car, and following 3 simple steps, we had the protection and peace of mind to navigate even the hairiest of road conditions. After the vacation, this model continues to impress - no easy feat, I assure you - and consistently deliver top-notch service, while occupying an unobtrusive area of my windshield. It’ll stay there, and keep on providing the comfort and easy coverage that I’m growing more fond of from Nexar, until we add to the family, and have need of additional equipment down the road.

Great except for phone battery usage. Love the dash cam and would highly recommend it except for the horrible battery usage when you allow the app to be “always on” so it automatically records your droves without having to remember to hit the “start drive” button every time. When I got this dashcam I had an iPhone 8. The “always on” setting would cause a 45% usage within 3 hours with only a 20 minute drive. Turned off with my 20 minute commute it only uses 1 to 2% battery. Since I got the iPhone 12 with much improved battery life I tried “always on” again. Today I have made one 5 minute call and one 15 minute drive and mid morning my battery is at 75% mid morning from a full charge, with Nexar using 45%. Cannot make it though a workday with this feature without plugging in the phone. Please fix, truly excessive battery use for simply trying to detect if I start driving

Seems great, but I wouldn’t know.. The camera looks great and the features sound awesome. My rating is because I haven’t actually been able to use it. The app will not connect to it no matter what help websites I look at and no matter what videos I watch. It simply wont connect. I’ve even driven to parts of town with better reception and it still does not work. Furthermore, their customer service is nearly useless. They don’t offer a phone number to call; rather, they suggest you either email them and wait a few days for a response, or visit their help sites and forums that haven't mentioned the issues I’m having. They do have a live chat option for support, but to use it, you’re supposed to click “help” within the app. Without a dash cam linked (which mine cant), that button simply takes you to a forum post that finished by saying if this didn’t help you, join a live chat, essentially sending you in a loop of helplessness. For $130+ I would expect this camera to do something as simple as connecting to my phone correctly. I might return it as their customer service is essentially nonexistent which means I just can’t use the dash cam. Unfortunate as I was incredibly excited about it.

Best dashcam out there!!!. I have owned dashcams and mirrorcams before, but this one beats them all.... Hands down!!! The clarity is totally amazing as is the sound. So many great features. I tested the hard brake feature and it worked like a charm. Came up ready to send to the issuance company or to share, or both. I live up north and the drives are incredibly scenic, I have sent clips of my drives over the mountains to friends and family all over the world. And everyone said it was like they were right there on the drives! I also love the fact it's not going to die in the heat or the cold (which has killed my previous cameras) because of the wide variants in the temperatures. Great call!! I can see me owing and enjoying this camera for many years! Now for the customer service... It can't be beat either! The team answer any questions very quickly and professionally, they are also like your new best friend! I've only had a few questions, and they were answered in no time and in full. You get to know each team member, not like other companies with so many different people. They make sure you're happy with the Nexar cam at all times and nothing is too much trouble. The best camera, the best customer service. Win-win. You won't be disappointed!!!

Great camera, with some flaws. I have to start off with how great this camera is, I’m super happy that I have it. I have already had a close call with another driver who wasn’t paying attention. This is probably the best camera that I have gotten my hands on, and it’s perfect for my work. Plus the app is super helpful when it comes to those close calls, because it detects my hard breaks, and it’ll clip that exact situation, and in a insurance claim, having footage of the accident taking place, vs not having footage is your word against their word. I’m super happy with my purchase, and will recommend it to friends and family. With that being said, there are so flaws with getting this camera. For starters you can only connect to it with your phone is if your cell service is good, if not you can’t connect to it. On top of that I can’t say for certain but the camera doesn’t start recording till you connect to your phone, which is the opposite of why I bought the nexar camera. It’s kind of a backwards process as far as having a dash cam. My camera also broke on me, which is unfortunate but I’m still standing behind this company, I just hope they fix the whole needing cell service in order to start recording. If I get in a accident and the camera didn’t catch the accident taking place, because of poor reception, then I have lost money with this camera, and lose even more if I lose the insurance claim.

Records audio inside vehicle. Considering junking this camera as despite checking all settings, it records audio inside the vehicle any time the camera is on which means during every single time I drive. This is NOT acceptable as I have a job where I need to have confidential conversations, not to mention my right to personal privacy. I have no idea how long this has been going on but it has been doing it for quite a while! My further question is, are my conversations uploading somewhere beyond my phone like Alexa and security cameras do?! I have NO idea and that is NOT OK!!! The other problem is that it has a mind of its own. The other night after getting from a ~4 hour drive, I couldn’t figure out why my 3-month old phone was really hot and wouldn’t hold a charge despite being on the charger inside the house all night. 13 hours after I got home, I got a notification that my Nexar drive ended. It had been recording in my driveway overnight!

Great when camera connects. I’ve had the Nexar dash camera now for about 6 months. It’s great when it works. The camera records and transmits the video your phone. There’s even a feature that allows it to back up to cloud storage for free. The primary issue we’ve been having is that even with the auto-record feature, the feature that automatically starts the camera recording when you start your car, works about 25% of the time. Not great odds if you think you’re recording and get into an accident and find you have zero footage. It really is hot or miss. Seems to be an issue with the camera over time. Bought this Nexar dash cam for my wife’s car as well as my car and we both have iPhone 12 Pros. She experiences the same issue. I guess if you’re willing to to manually turn on the camera with your phone every time you start a drive this could work, but you might be better off with a cheap $30-$40 dash cam recording on an SD card that will automatically start recording when you start your car. At this price point $125-$130 for this Nexar dash cam, the spotty reliability in terms of recording when you start your car is a major disappointment. Last thing you want is to go days or weeks thinking your camera has been recording your drives and then come to find out you have a fraction of what you expect. I can deal with the camera not starting to record 30 seconds to 5 minutes after you start your car, but to miss trips in their entirety every 3-4 trips is inexcusable.

App drains battery, causes overheating. When it’s 10am and my new iPhone only has 30% battery left, there is a problem. The Nexar app uses 60-70% of my battery everyday. My phone would get super hot and I would need to turn it completely off to cool it down. I finally had to disable location from “Always” to “Only when using the app”. This change has helped quite a bit, but now I must remember to open the app and ensure the camera is connected. WOULDN’T IT BE NICE if the camera just recorded whenever it powers on and stored those drives in the micro SD card that’s inside the camera? THEN, if I ever need to access the drives from the SD card, I can either remove the card and transfer to my computer, or I could sync to the camera with my phone and view the drives in the app?! WHAT AN IDEA!!! I want to record my drives, but I can’t have the Nexar app draining my phone to nothing before I even drive home for the day.

Why should you buy a Nexar camera.. First thing it me real time footage. I was very surprised how clear you can see and read everything it captured on records. And recording everything on cloud so you can delete footage and save it. And then there is the GPS it takes you right where you are going all you have to do put in the address and boom your there and it still recording your trip as well. I was impressed. Another impression is it helps you find your car. Just imagine you are going to the Mall or your favorite store like Walmart all you to do is hit the Nexar app and a few click there your car. And you can link with family and friends friends who have a Nexar camera system. You can see how far you are and how far they as well. And say you have a elderly family member who still love ❤️ to drive as long as you both are link you can find the elderly person like grandma or grandpa. It going to give you a piece of mind knowing where they was last seen. My only regret is that I should have ordered four more of the Nexar camera for my family and friend. So that means I am coming back to buy a few more Nexar camera.

Issues nexc2. The automatic start/stop detection is pretty terrible. Will start recording while parked for no reason. Turn off the car the video ends but will not start back up automatically at all until you go into the app to delete the recording or just go back to the main drive screen. Being in and out constantly this is crap. The manual for the nexc2 shows the different led light indicators and what each type means..my record light is a solid green no matter what..recording solid green..not recording solid green..the manual doesn’t even list green as a color that’s represented. After setting up Siri Shortcuts to start and end drives Siri tells me she cannot do this while in the car..are you kidding me? I use recorded voice gestures to accept and decline trips hands free..when the camera is recording voice control will not respond to my gesture commands forcing me to touch my phone illegally on the freeway. Basically everything about this app is terrible besides manually doing everything yourself. The lack of ability to use gesture commands while recording just might be a dealbreaker for me. Forcing me to not be hands free is not desired. Day 1 user here. Glad I choose the 30 day trial option.

Doesn’t work. This is not ready for prime time. Considering the cost of one of these cams and the reason that people are buying them, you would think that it would do what it’s intended to do. I’ve had it installed for two days. I figured maybe there’s a learning curve. Not a single function works. I can live stream to my phone when I’m sitting in the car- that’s about it. It records video(at least it says it is recording) but I’ve yet to be able to replay a video or have a video or clip “automatically” saved to my phone. I think I uploaded a clip to the “cloud” but how do I know? There’s no interface to access videos “saved to the cloud”? No instructions for that, what “cloud” did they go to? Total crap- will be returning. Update- I’ve started a return, you CANNOT use Apple CarPlay at the same time and that’s a no-go for me, to be fair Nexar has been responsive for the return process.

Great interface!. The app works seamlessly. Easy to review drives & create clips to share. I switch between cars & was able to add another camera to the app so that it detects whichever car I’m in. I like that it gives me the ability to control how much phone storage it will use. I live in WA State, we have overcast, rainy & sun filled days (yes, we get sunshine), the video the camera produces regardless of weather is of great quality. (I’m guilty of creating clips & messaging them via WhatsApp to family members overseas just to showcase my State).This has them asking if they could also buy the cameras in their countries 🇭🇳🇰🇷🇳🇱🇨🇦🇵🇦🤔 Bonus, customer support is immediate & helpful. So for those of you that may experience issues, take the time to message them through the app. I promise, those folks are on top of things & are very helpful. Keep it up, you are doing great!😎👏🏽

Not as easy as they say. Started out great, then I noticed it wasn’t recording the trips to the app on my phone, after I ordered a second one and installed it in my other truck. Then I realized customer service was a message deal with no guarantee on when you would catch them or they catch you. I had these installed professionally so I wouldn’t have wires showing and hopefully they wouldn’t get stolen. So the first thing they say is unplug the unit. You then have to shut the unit off which mine never does so I always have to wait for the internal power source to die, then eject the card. This seems to work. The problem is why should I have to do this every other month or sooner it seems. I have been assured by Nexar that the video is being saved to the card and all I have to do is pop it out and look at it on my computer. Then why have the app why not just give me a card reader for my phone. No good answers. I’m sure this will be a good product one day, maybe it is now and I just got two bad ones, either way I’m done with it. Still looking for a good camera and good service.

Awesome Dashcam. Purchased dashcam to replace old, cheap cam I bought a couple years ago. The old cam only had SD card recording, however this new cam has app that will have the full drive recording or small clip (if requested) right on your phone. At first the app did not work as expected, it would not connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Talked with support, they quickly resolved the issue by giving me the proper steps to take…primarily my home Wi-Fi was not letting cam Wi-Fi connect to phone, had to wait until I got out of driveway, then it connects fine. All worked we for several trips, then reported that I could not get into Siri cmds … within a few days, app had new update and Siri cmds were now available. Support has been great to work with on both occasions, timely responses. Highly recommend this dashcam and app…very happy with purchase. Thank you.

Outstanding. The customer service is absolutely outstanding, I received a faulty dash cam from Nexar which happens not every product is going to be manufactured perfectly there’s always going to be faulty products but it’s how they handled my problem when I reached out is what I want to talk about. When I got into contact I explained the problem and I was immediately taken care of not only did they send a new camera with all the cables etc. they sent EXTRA SD cards as I can only assume as a we’re sorry which they obviously didn’t have to do but it spoke volumes. If you are looking for an affordable yet astonishing dash cam this is the one for you and rest assured any problems you may run into will be swiftly taken care of by the Nexar team. Big 5 stars from me if I could give them more I would. 11/10 would recommend!

Why not 5 stars?. It would be 5stars if UI gave us the option to see current speed and speed warnings. For example If you’re driving Speed should be on the corner of screen while Live viewing and it’ll be nice if it Flashes if going above Limit. This Can be done with GPS on board. Also I know cam can be muted if u dig deep into settings but it would be nice if there’s a touch mute/unmute on screen on one corner. Also please work on tweeking mic settings sometimes voice recordings sounds great sometimes it sounds distant. The 1080p only if you view it from memory card with pc not cool. It should be viewable at 1080p on phone too..make it a choice on settings. If user wants 1080p or 720p they should be able to chose it. I’m sure you did it this way because of data cap but almost everyone has unlimited data. This is good especially for hit and run the 1080p would be able to show license plates more clearly. Other than that this little dash cam is great- g price is great and it does what it’s supposed to do. To sum things up: Give us current Speed with Bold Numbers Speeding Flashing warning with color scheme Ability to mute and unmute by touch on live view Microphone tweek And Absolute 1080p

NEXAR IS AMAZING. I have a fleet of CMV and I purchased the dash-cams to see how they would work and here’s what I found. I love the quality of the the cam itself, setup was easy, and mounting was a breeze. When I downloaded the app and connected everything to my phone, I was impressed on how clear and accurate the videos were. I love how it automatically connects every time I enter the vehicle and all I have to do is push record and that’s it. The dash-cam records my entire trip, give’s me the option of recording the route, and if I am in idle or parked for longer than 15 minutes it will tell me it is going to auto stop for parked position. I am allowed to save all the videos of the day on my computer so if I need to put them on a drive I can. Because of the added safety the NEXAR dash-cam give me and my fleet, I have saved a lot of money by receiving huge discounts on premium’s every year. There is so many great things to say about NEXAR dash-cams that I’m just going to make a commercial to show everyone my experiences from the start to finish of my day so you can see for yourselves. Always improving the experience. I received a Nexar Beam dash cam for Christmas of 2022. After using it for over a week, I was very displeased (2/5 ⭐️) with how the dash cam didn’t “always” automatically start recording my drives. Sometimes it would surprise me and work perfectly as designed, but more often than not, I’d have to force quit the app, then restart the app to manually have the camera recognized and begin recording on its own. That was 5 months and several firmware updates ago… fast forward to now — May 2023. After the latest round(s) of updates, my Nexar Beam links up and starts recording my rides almost immediately, and without fail. Thanks to Nexar and their developers’ constant strive and consistency in improving the Nexar UI experience, my satisfaction has improved greatly! 4/5 ⭐️

Disappointing product. I was gifted 2 Nexar cameras. The halo and the beam. The beam is trash, being the newest camera I was gifted, the battery blew up within months of having it and the halo stopped recording drives. It use to give me the map of the drive but now it doesn’t even do that. When I tried to contact customer service about the issues and replacement, I was told I needed to have proof of purchase. I had fallen out of touch with the people who gifted me the cameras so there was no other way of providing the information needed to replace the cameras. So I never got a battery replacement for the beam or a replacement for the halo since it stopped recording. Over all, I think it’s a waist of money for a product that will stop working, has potential defects and it’s hard to replace of find parts too. Customer service makes it impossible to accommodate your needs and concerns when you weren’t the one who purchased it, so this is not a good gift. I wouldn’t recommend these cameras for the price they are being sold just because you’d have to spend the same amount, if not more, to replace the camera every year since they stop working around the year mark and that’s as far as the warranty covers.

Nexar is great!. I live out of town where i am, and the road i drive theres a lot of people who don't know how to drive so for my safety and for insurance i thought about getting a dash cam for my van. I wanted the best dash cam there is and as i searched through and did some research; Nexar seemed like the best option, i saw it as an ad on Facebook and every time i saw that ad i would actually watch it to see what the other stories were from people who bought it. Eventually i went on the website and looked at what they had. I was a bit bummed when they were sold out of the Nexar pro dash cam but at the same time it looks like a pretty popular one too. So i got the slightly less expensive Beam dash cam. Its awesome! I literally caught two almost-accidents near my work and accidents happen there a lot lol. I just love looking back and seeing if i missed anything. Nexar is amazing. I highly suggest getting one especially when there are insurance scams out there too. Definitely getting my family dash cams for Christmas

Integration with Apple CarPlay needs to be updated. The app is very well thought out, though there are a few that really should have been looked at design-wise that would save the user time and enhance the overall experience. After using the app for about a week now, it is very annoying to accidentally tap the “drive” button and have to wait for the app to start a drive, then end it, then delete that short video from the device and could. I wish there was a back arrow you could click to avoid all of those steps in the case that you accidentally bump that button (especially if you’re like me who does that twice a day!). Another pretty big annoyance is the apps integration with Apple CarPlay. Anytime I get in my car and plug in my phone, my music starts playing. As soon as nexar starts a drive, the music stops in the car and plays on my phone. I have to pause the music on my phone and resume it in the car. That’s a pretty big annoyance considering how much some these Nexar dashcams cost.

Drains my phone battery. When I first got this dash cam I really loved it. I had been in a hit and run before purchasing and I finally felt a bit safer having something to backup what I had experienced. However, after a while it wouldn’t start recording when I would start driving. So I deleted the app and downloaded it again, which seemed to help for the most part (sometimes I still have to check) BUT THEN my phone started heating up to a point where I couldn’t touch it and I get really worried that it’s going to mess up my battery or explode while I’m driving (it heats up that bad) and it’s then that I realized it only heats up like that when I’m in the car and it starts up the dash cam. It also drains my battery which it never did before. I have to lean it up against one of the air vents with the AC up to attempt to cool it down but even then, once I take it off it just heats right back up again. I’m not sure if it’s an app update but it’s not something it did before when I first purchased it. I hate that I feel like I have to constantly choose whether to take care my phones battery or record my drives. I wish they would fix this issue as I had bought my sister the same dash cam and it does the same things to her phone as well.

Fantastic camera and app. I bought the camera not expecting it to probably live up to its sales pitch. I was wrong. The camera was easy to install and the app is just excellent and easy to use. I haven't needed any of the footage I've recorded so far but I have tried creating a smaller clip of one of the recordings and it's very user friendly to do.

Best dash cam I’ve had.. Super easy to use, lovely easy app and good features. Very happy.

Actually works.. I am not a professional driver... Just a normal driver in Sydney. First day I used this, it captured footage of taxi pulling out in front of me without looking (of course). Nearly caused an accident. The app recognised the sudden breaking flawlessly and marked it as an accident. The quality of the footage on playback (iPhone 6+) was smooth and clear. Whenever I had questions the in app messaging support was very helpful and efficient, with a response time of < 1hour.

Works well but drains battery. This dash cam is really good, connects easy and the quality is great. However, it absolutely drains my phone battery when I’m at home (not driving) with back ground activity. Not sure if this can be toggled off. Also, there needs to be a select all and bulk delete option on drives rather than manually spending hours selecting and deleting these videos

Horrid battery drain issue. The app is draining my battery where I went from above 90% to 0% in just a 2-3 hours! This happens soon after I finish driving and supposedly disconnected from my Nexar Beam and I noticed my phone heats up in the next few hours after that. The problem is slightly mitigated if I turn off the Background App refresh. I have had my nexar beam for more than a year now and never encountered this issue before so I’m not sure when this all started - whether from your last update or from when I updated my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 15.4. Please fix.

Custom Siri Commands. Custom Siri commands not working on Apple Watch. I couldn’t make it work. It’s pretty convenient to have Siri commands on watch especially while driving. Could you enable this feature as soon as possible please?

Dashcam. You have in part stated reason to have phone number or casebook to access, however I as many others are not prepared to do so. Files are on your servers - therefore nothing is private! This may or may not be a good app, but I refuse to put my files into third party possession!

App crashes. App is not stable at all. Crashes after trying to save a 1 min clip length.

Great camera. Almost everything you can ask for in a dash cam. Two things would make it better, -the ability to link a second camera for rear facing all on one app. -get rid of the “location access required”, “enable location”, warning messages. I, and I’m sure a lot of people, like to keep this feature turned off. Maybe pop it up every 10 logins? It an annoyance.

Want a hot, dead phone? Use this app. New review: I was so excited to read about their update that uses less battery. Unfortunately, all they’ve done is found a way to make my phone hotter faster, and drain the battery just as much as before. Please keep trying. Old review: Looks nice. Connects effortlessly to my phone. Love the feature to save a clip to my device and how it shows my route on the map. I only wish you could export longer clips or the entire drive. Please consider adding these features. Thanks!

Feedback. I am currently use the nexar dash cam. I was having problem in the start how to connect it but after reaching out to the nexar support team I was able to connect my dash cam and it’s working perfectly amazing now. The customer service is super amazing and helpful. They are highly professional and skilled. Definitely I will give them 5/5 star. Even though after fixing my issue they reach out to me again just to confirm that the dash cam is working perfectly or am i facing anymore issues. I will highly recommend it. Such a great experience

Works great, but there can be some improvements.. Love the cam, works great. However, a few suggestions: • The account phone number should be changeable. The camera is in a family member's car and I didn't want to have to wait for them to send me the verification code during setup so I used my own number. • Battery optimization. The app drains the battery a ton, I thought I had a defect with my iPhone until I figured out what was going on. • Not a software thing, but I'm hoping for the future you have a camera that has a rear window cam as well. Would be great for getting proof of rear-endings.

battery killer. the app glitches alot, doesnt always connect to the dashc, and oh yeah, KILLS your battery. i have a brand new iphone14pro and it eats 84 % of my battery with constant location services in backround, even when im nowheres near the dashcam. has been killing my battery in 6 or less hours because of that. seriously Nexar, what in the world are you tracking my phone that much for?!?!

Drains Battery, CarPlay Issues. This app drains your battery, overheats your phone and won’t even work if you have a car that uses car play. Car play - you need wifi for the features of this app to work, but CarPlay turns your wifi off, therefore nothing is recorded properly. I got this as a Christmas present, but I’ve already deleted the app and wouldn’t recommend anybody buy anything from this brand.

DO NOT BUY A NEXAR DASH CAM. This camera will ruin your phone. It gets your phone ridiculously hot and drains your battery even though is plugged in. Worst purchase I’ve ever made as their support is useless and won’t fix this issue even after 2 years of updates

Drains battery, overheats phone. Sadly I will have to stop using Nexar. It’s an ok camera, and it works nice without any user input. Unfortunately it causes massive battery drain and the iPhone to overheat. I’ve contacted Nexar multiple times and there’s been no fix. Read Reddit to see multiple threads of the same thing. Could of been a good product if they prioritized fixing this bad sadly it’s been 3 years and it’s just too unusable.

Battery drain. Even after the latest update and with the battery saving feature turned on, my battery is still dead at only 3 pm, when usually I would have 50% left at the end of a long day! This is ridiculous, and I am going to ask for a refund and ill return the dash cam if this doesn’t get fixed!

Drain battery. Drain lot of battery. Almost 70% of battery usage is by nexar.. my phone overheats and always keep charging it. Fed up with this, just uninstalled app and going to buy new dashcam

Can’t access the videos. The fact that I can’t access my videos unless I am in my vehicle and connected to the dash cam is incredibly useless. The whole point of having a dashcam is so that you can videos accessible when you need them. We paid good money for this dash cam and it’s just not good.

Great dash camera. It is really good camera, excellent night recording, absolutely easy to make clip from drive record, quality of recording and communication in between camera and iPhone. Strongly recommend to buy this product. Alex

Major battery draining 🪫. Since the last major update your app is draining my battery. Fix it ASAP!!!

Battery draining!. The nexar app used to work flawlessly. I could allow it to “always” access my location and the app wouldn’t consume more than 20% of my battery life in a day. There was a small hiccup a couple years ago where an update caused extreme battery consumption which was fixed not in a couple of weeks like it should have been, but instead in 3-4 MONTHS! This was extremely frustrating but they did eventually fix the issue. However, I wouldn’t be writing this review if the same issue of extreme battery consumption came back about a year ago and still hasn’t been truly “fixed” they just released an update that is said to address the issue, but they’re addressing the issue by giving us the choice between disabling the automatic ride starts or just living with the excessive battery draining. This is ridiculous. If I could find a way to just install the same app version I had when I bought the dashcam I would, but I don’t think that’s possible. Time to go buy another dashcam and throw this pos in the garage. It wouldn’t even be so bad if the camera would just start recording when it senses power from the car, like every other dash cam, but it doesn’t, so if your phone doesn’t automatically “start a ride” it just sits there and does nothing.

Fix your app, drains a lot of battery!. Drains my iphone battery faster than it should be. Developers must fix this problem.

The one time I really needed it: FAIL. My vehicle was involved in an accident. Their fault. I was relieved to know that I have my Nexar dash cam and it would prove that it was their fault. I hear it turn on every time I start the jeep, it’s a sound of relief. So I thought…. I go to download the footage and all it’s showing is GPS map stuff. No actual video footage… literally months worth of GPS mapping. I tried taking the SD card out and putting it into the computer, nothing. No video footage. I’m livid. Should be called a Nexar dash tracker. Not camera…

Terrible App. I just bought this dash cam, and I can’t even connect it to the app… I don’t understand how there can possibly still be issues like this in 2022. The website is of no help either.

Battery draining. Since recently, Nexar is draining my battery in background.

Worth the $$$. Easy to install, everything is just easy. You can save, videos that you like, and delete anything you don’t need. The best dash cam I ever had.

Latest update broke Data. Once connected to the dashcam, nothing works (Apple Music, iMessage, etc), “not connected to the internet”. Turn wifi off and it comes back (through 5G), but then you’re not recording… Please fix this ASAP

Nexar dash cam. I’ve had it now for a couple of years absolutely love it. I have used it several times to show how bad drivers are in my area. Definitely recommend it probably one of the best cameras that on the market you could buy. The battery even after a few years works absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend.

Drains battery. The dashcam is decent, but it seems they can't figure it out how to make the app not to drain your battery.

Excellent view and performance. I’ve had no memory or overheating issues with my phone like these other reviews I’ve seen, super easy set up, even easier to view video, only thing I’d upgrade is the size of memory card, cheap and reliable. I love there’s no extra costs or fees after purchase

Overheating and battery drain. The idea behind this app is fantastic the camera is great quality however my one star rating is due to the fact that this app running in the background always makes my phone so hot to the point where the screen is barely visible the app has been deleted and re-download it and settings have been double checked this is not an issue only for me many people are in the same boat. Why do I need GPS location services turned on for this app when the dash cam itself is supposed to have a GPS unit that would for sure help reduce the heat and battery drain from my phone if the dash cam just used its on board GPS

Gps. So weird every week I have to delete the app and download it again Becuase the app can’t detect the gps so the video won’t show also the worst thing is after a long drive you go to see the video and it won’t even show you it will show you the gps I’m about to sell this thing what a great product just failing on the technical side

What a great dashcam!. Super easy to set up, can be programmed with Siri Shortcuts, auto start and ride tracking videos to my phone just everything you can ask for.

Amazing dash cam and support team.. I bought Nexar and ran into some problems with the set up and just had some questions overall. I opened a ticket with the support team and they replied so quick every time, it felt like I was texting them over email. They had over 4 people reply to me to get my questions answered and my problems solved. 10/10 for customer support. As for the cam. It works great. It works both as a traditional dash cam (with an SD) and as a modernistic one that uploads videos straight to the app in your phone. It caught hard brakes and sharp turns and created the clips automatically for me. It definitely brings more peace of mind while driving. The only drawback is that the videos that are uploaded to the app take up quite a bit of space on your phone, but this can be avoided by just using the dash cam as a traditional one, or just by deleting videos you don’t need. When you set your cam up, make sure it’s doing what you want it to do before you find yourself in a position where you need it and haven’t properly set it up. Talk to their support team and I promise you that you’ll have a great dash cam.

Like the camera. But needs work.. Overall, I like the camera and the ability to use an app. The app needs updating though as it DRAINS my phone battery and my phone also gets hit while driving. Please update the app to resolve this. Also, please add the ability to have additional drivers connect without having to create a separate account. When my partner drives alone, the only way to get footage is through the SD card. It’s not ideal. Having the camera connected to 2 accounts also disables parking events from downloading to the app. Customer service isn’t great. They don’t really listen to what you are saying and act like their app and camera are perfect. Sorry to bother you with questions is basically how it feels.

10/10 useful. App is easy to use. Setup for dash cam itself took 8 mins. I just plugged it in, and then had to hide the cord..super easy. Dashcam itself takes 1080HD quality. Very discrete on windshield. Reasonably priced cam. App is super helpful.

App Crashes. App was awesome but recently keeps crashing when trying to create a clip. It randomly unpaired with my phone too, I didn’t capture a long drive - was super annoyed with this

Great camera and Great customer service. I ordered 3 camera’s, packing, shipping and delivery was very smooth also you can track the process. The setup was very easy, i had a little problem on one of them, text the customer service within one day the shipped another one. Very friendly team and great experience with Nexar. highly recommend.

Phone number. There is absolutely no reason to require a phone number for a dashcamera. You have no need to know who I am.

No Data Privacy Whatsoever, App Not Stable. Started beeping constantly while driving about two weeks in, I don’t think loop recording is available which is ridiculous for a dash cam. Working in tech and data science myself, saying that it uses AI is an overstatement. The technology with this dash cam is just simply not there, it’s not worth the premium- better off getting something off Amazon. Also, May I just ask why would a dash cam require tracking my location at all times?

Please fix the battery drain issue. Great Hardware, Good Quality, Good Auto-Record But holy….. why does the app have to use 65% of my battery everyday. Kinda hard to sell a dashcam with great phone integration when their phones are dead.

A truly must have cam. I have tried many other cams, however, the Nexar cam is far more superior then the rest. Setup was simple and syncing to my Apple phone was a breeze. Support is truly there for you with quick solutions. I love it so much that I purchased yet another for my oldest son for his vehicle, which he immediately installed once he received it. He too loves it. Well done Nexar and great product. I would highly recommend it.

Awesome Dashcam!. I’ve had my Nexar dashcam for about a year and it’s been nothing but awesome! The app is great and easy to navigate as well. It does have bugs but that’s to be expected and it’s easy to contact support for some help. The cloud saving and instant access to drives is extremely helpful! I’d recommend it to anyone.

Good video but privacy stinks. The video in this app and camera is quite good. The problem is the app HOUNDS you to keep location on and always available to the app. This is without regard to whether I’m anywhere near my car or even driving. Today I caved in and set it to always allow, now iOS hounds me to be more conservative and have it only while using the app. I’ve discussed this with the Nexar team via support and they don’t seem to recognize any issue (last report I was 2800 miles from the car and camera, so….yeah). Why not just ask when the camera pairs with the phone? Too easy? Short summary: Good camera with no regard to personal security. Bottom line: Company’s products not recommended. I’m sure someone in a foreign country is tracking my every move. Jokes on them, I live a pretty boring day to day life.

Saved me a headache and held up amazing. So I installed this camera less than a week ago hoping to never actually need it. But today I got in a pretty bad accident. The other driver told police and claimed I ran the red light but I was able to pull up the clip on my phone and show the police within 20 seconds of them asking my side. The video was more than clear enough to show my light was not red and I was able to send the clip to the officer before I even left the scene. The camera itself held up amazing. I found in my backseat still in working condition with no scratches! I don’t usually write reviews but this camera saved me a lot of trouble. I’m gonna recommend it to anyone that needs a dash cam.

Top notch customer service!. I’ve never written a review before, but I just had to hand it to Nexar for their excellent customer service. It’s top of the line! I got replies within seconds, and the correspondent (Vik) answered all my questions appropriately and thoughtfully. If they put so much time and care into helping their customers, just think about how much time and care they put into their cameras and app. They’re continually implementing new updates and innovations for the benefit of OUR safety, and I can confidently say that I feel a lot safer driving now than I did prior to Nexar. Thank you Vik for all your help and thank you Nexar for putting your customers first!

Really regret buying, wish I could return. Went from a no-frills dashcam to the Nexar. Thought I was upgrading but this is terrible. If you don’t have a windows computer, you can’t open up your MicroSD. If you turn notifications off for the app, the camera won’t record to your phone. If your Bluetooth is off, camera won’t record to your phone. Think you want to use the nifty feature of an app to watch a video from your drive? Wait… the app doesn’t show any drive. Or perhaps it shows your drive, but there’s no video. Or perhaps you see the drive, you’re trying to click on it, but nothing happens. On and on and on. Really really disappointed. If you’re downloading this app, you probably already opened up your Nexar cam. But I’m begging you, just return it. I wish I could return mine but it’s been more than 30 days. Such a shame and waste of money.

Login issues. Update: The app has been working fine since my last review so updating to four stars. I also appreciate the development team contacting me. I look forward to future enhancements. …… I like this app when I can access my account. However, more often then not, the app logs me out and I have to login again. I understand that from time-to-time this is necessary. The PROBLEM is the after I’m logged in again, the app goes straight to the setup screen. The app should remember which device I have and go to what had been previously recorded and start working again. I should just be allowed to quickly use the app. This is a HUGE problem. Please fix as soon as possible.

De-valued yourself with new upgrade. Hello, I’m a nexar user and I have mild experience with nexar from time to time with some stuff. But I still used it. But now with this current update and adding new feature which showing you online and also navigating where you exactly is. It’s cool but one thing I’m really missing and feels is downfall cause I’m a driver and having an interior camera it’s very important for me. But with this new update there is no option left for me to switch interior view than exterior view. Now I’m stuck and if anything happen within my work. Then I’m required to take out the memory card and spend tons amount of time to process data over device or pc and then forward it to the place I need too. But before I could easily switch upto interior mode and start screen recording or double tap to shoot a clip. Which I can’t anymore. So, I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied right now with that

Best Dash Cam Ever. This dash cam is amazing. I had a super cheap one with horrible quality so I wanted to upgrade. I took advantage of the promotion and ordered 2 cameras so I could save a little bit of money- but the price of these cameras are a STEAL with how great they are. My boyfriend and I each have one. It was super easy to set up, and we both love the cameras. The quality is amazing, even at night. And I love that audio can be recorded for iOS- it would be super helpful if something ever happened with another driver and there was confrontation- it would catch the whole conversation. I could go on and on, but bottom line these cameras are the best. Thanks Nexar!

Used to be the best…. Nexar, used to be the best app on the market. I have been using this app for years! But for some reason, you now have to buy a specialized camera which is completely unnecessary since every phone has a camera built into it. This app was amazing at running in the background while still using iPhone maps or Google maps in the foreground. Now they are trying to build navigation into it and for a while you couldn’t take a trip without putting a destination address. This makes no sense? If you were just going for a drive, why would I need to input an address? And now you can’t use the app whatsoever unless you use their camera. Everything is built into the phone for a reason. You shouldn’t need extra equipment. Bye-bye Nexar!

Great camera. I purchased an NEXS1 dash cam and when I received it, it did not work properly. I wrote a hast review and pretty much trashed it before actually contacting the company. They read the review and reached out via email concerning the review and my issues with the camera. After explaining the problems I was having they immediately sent a replacement camera. The new camera works perfectly and does everything it promises. The video is sharp in daylight and dark and is easy to use with the app. I should have contacted them before writing the review but it was still taken care of in a timely and professional matter. I will be purchasing another for my wife’s car.

Latest iOS upgrade malfunction. This camera was fine until the latest Apple iOS upgrade. Tech support is a joke; no phone support, just a never ending chat that takes hours into DAYS to get a response to a single entry. I’ve gone in circles for three weeks with several techs that don’t seem to know what the last tech has advised in dealing with this issue. I hope they figure this out and PLEASE ADD PHONE SUPPORT!!!!! Edit… After a month of back and forth… Tech support was so slow and vague that eventually my own troubleshooting found the issue. This camera WILL NOT WORK with a VPN. When I shared this with tech support they replied that indeed the camera WILL NOT WORK with a VPN. This was asked my me in the BEGINNING. The reply was always “we’ll look into it”. Beware of this camera if you’re using a VPN, as they said that they have no interest in fixing the issue.

Good product, destroys my battery. The camera works as designed. The pros: It’s user friendly and I pulled drives directly to my phone. Good camera quality. For the cons: I didn’t want the camera to kill my battery but it drains it pretty bad. If you don’t have your phone on your charger your phone will rapidly loose charge. Especially if you use your phone for GPS like I do, it make it very hot. I did the battery optimizer and it still didn’t help. Even tried putting my phone on low battery mode but it still pops up in the background. I think my last straw is just to forget the network and it I ever get in an accident retrieve the memory card and pull it from there … but what’s the point of the app if It comes down to this lol. I drive 10 minutes to work at 100% battery and get to work at 91%… no GPS or other apps on and not on a charger. Either way I’m keeping the camera and will let it drain my phone till they fix it since I was in a crash that wasn’t my fault but didn’t have a dash cam … so it’s a necessity at this point.

Battery draining!!. UPDATE: Nexar did fix the initial battery issue but now it is happening AGAIN. NEXAR PLEASE STOP THE UPDATES THAT DRAIN THE BATTERY!!! I have had my Nexar dash cam for a few years so far and absolutely love it. It is definitely the best dash cam out there for the price point. That being said…. With the latest updates to the application, my battery life on my phone suffers so much. It absolutely kills my battery when the app is open even when my phone is plugged in and charging while driving. It kills the battery faster than it can charge and by the time I am done with my work day my phone is nearly dead. This is with maybe 1 hour of drive time throughout my work day and using my phone regularly throughout my work day when not using the Nexar app. I have never had any issues with battery before this last big update. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

Amazing Cam, good app, BAD battery usage on phone. I absolutely love the Cam, and the app is pretty good, but while driving and recording/streaming to phone it uses all the battery, and constantly makes my phone overheat, especially if it is mounted. Also, can’t connect to Bluetooth on my phone since upgrading to the 14 pro, but not sure if that is just a 14 pro issue. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next update. All in all, the best dash cam I’ve tried, and the other brands are much harder to connect, use, and don’t offer this seamless of an experience for saving, or transferring videos to the phone. Can’t give 5 stars because of the battery usage/overheating part, once that is fixed, I’ll gladly change!

Good, things to improve. The app seems decent, starts up every time I start the car and seems not to have issues it used to have a year ago. Things to note though are that it has only 3 options for memory storage, 20, 50 and 70 percent and the 20 percent the least one takes a lot of space in my phone which I don't want to, would suggest to break it down into more granular options pieces so I could dedicate less amount of memory. Also every time I start the app on my phone it brings a weird popup message asking to pair up with the camera which it already is, kinda tedious thing, but overall the app seems decent!

Stopped working after less than one year.. I really tried my best to make this dash cam work, first it started glitching green , I complained , they did nothing. Then my dashcam started recording only a few seconds of my 45 min drive , I complained, it got fixed for about 3 weeks and now it’s doing it again. I have tried doing what the help center told me to do, i reseted it , i checked the WiFi connections, the Bluetooth , everything was running and working but no recordings on the app or the SD card. (I have the newest up to date iPhone) The other week my car got egged , I couldn’t see who did it. I used to love this dashcam because it actually worked in the beginning but I have given up, my safety is more important and I can’t even review the actual website so I’m here writing my review.

Nexar Pro Dash Camera. I love the Product, in the beginning I hooked it up like how the diagram shows and it wasn’t working properly, It was working only for very short time and I have to power it up again to work, for about a week this went on and I was getting frustrated to the point I was going to return it, I decided to unplugged everything and reconnected it again but I didn’t connected it like the instruction says, I connected the power straight to the port that says POWER and it has been working fine since, it works very good, in fact I’m going to buy two Pro versions again for my other vehicles

Great app with serious bugs. I love the overall UX. Intuitive Ui, great features. However, the pairing with my camera fails inexplicably about 25% of the time. This could just be a camera firmware issue, so I didn’t deduct stars for this. Two stars off because this is the second time the latest Nexar release (since September) drains my battery faster than I can believe. My iPhone is heating up, too hot to touch, and is disabling with an “iPhone needs to cool down” notification. Its not exposed to sun, and closing the Nexar app stops the overheating. I have a 12 Pro Max… so I should not need more cpu power for this simple video stream. The toggle in settings for improving battery life does nothing for this issue.

Started okay but now terrible. I recommend avoiding until they get their bugs fixed, they are severe. Started out okay, I’ve had over a year now. For last 6 months iPhone gets super-heated and battery drains like nothing ever before. Did not do this to start and I have a new iPhone 13 pro, under a year old. I HAVE to keep plugged in while driving or won’t last 30 minutes on drive home regardless of how much battery is charged. I have been in contact with support over last several months, and they keep promising fixes, and the revisions come and nothing works. Online, these issues are piling up on discussion boards and nothing is resolving them. When I get where I’m going the phone is so hot I have a hard time with it and I wonder what kind of damage might be happening. I definitely do not recommend this app for now.

Drains battery/ over heats phone. My main complaint is the fact my phone overheats and my battery drains significantly. Even if I charge my phone while using the app/cam my battery won’t charge once my phone gets too hot. This problem wasn’t as bad not long ago but now suddenly I feel it’s worse. I have the battery optimization toggle enabled so I’m not sure what that’s for exactly. On top of those issues I have to check every time to make sure my cam is automatically recording when I start my car because sometimes it’s not and sadly it’s been a habit to check every time because I’m worried it won’t be and something will happen which is the point of the cam. This cam wasn’t cheap to be having these issues.

Works great for me.. I’ve been running it for about two weeks. I don’t seem to have the same issues as other have. I’m running an iPhone X in a vent mount charger. I participated in a offer that refunds the cost after 3, 5+ mike drives. I have recommended it to several friends. The report generator will definitely save your story if you get in an accident. Where I’m at the scammers are running brake check scams on the freeway and backing scams in parking lots. I am not Looking for some features others are, I hop in the car, put the phone in the holder and run the app, I also run Waze in the background with no problem. My only issue is I have to manually connect to it with WiFi. I’m sure it’s a phone setting, I just haven’t researched it yet.

Easiest Set up ever!!. I’m so impressed with this tiny dash cam. Installation was so easy, I actually installed it myself without needing my son or brother’s help. I love how it automatically starts recording when you start driving. The clarity of both day and night driving is insanely sharp!! Customer service ROCKS!! At first I was disappointed that there wasn’t a phone number to actually talk to a live person, but the turn around time is incredible once you email them. They continue to reach out to make sure everything is running smoothly. For the price, you definitely won’t be disappointed. Get one before Nexar realizes they can be charging double for this.

Eye on the sky. I’m truly happy with the Nexar dashcam and its seamless use from connecting to disconnecting automatically, also with the clarity and quick response to motion sensors through the phone during an event. I feel more comfortable when driving and knowing the eye in the sky has my back. I’ve had 2 people reverse into my car at a red light as odd as that sounds it happen within a month of each other. The other drivers could’ve easily said I hit them and it would’ve been my fault. Thankfully they were honest people. This makes sure I don’t run into the dishonest people, you know they’re out there lurking or cut you off and slamming on the breaks. Don’t hesitate and get one now before you have to pay full price.

Amazing product and app but. Nexar is fantastic but there’s a downside to having the app’s location settings on “Always.” Lately my phone has been burning up and the battery dying to the point where I have to at least charge my phone once a day and my phone is an iPhone 12 Pro. I decided to check the battery in the settings where it turns out Nexar was running in the background for nearly the entire day killing my battery! Now I have changed the settings to “While using” and I now have to manually go in the app to start recording each drive. This is something I can live with but it’s quite a nuisance.

Good camera, app not so much. I have some connection issues from time to time so I have to double check to make sure that the camera is actually recording. When it’s working properly it’s great though. My biggest issue is the app itself. It drains way too much battery in the background, even when I didn’t open it or whether driving the vehicle with the camera installed or not. Example: I haven’t driven the camera installed vehicle in the past 2 days but the app opened itself and proceeded to drain 20% of my battery within an hour and a half on both days, not good. On the days that I am driving with the camera installed vehicle the app drains my phone battery faster than my fast charger can replenish….

Still not working. Just like a bunch of others I had the same issue back in April. Battery draining and phone overheating. I even went to the Genius Bar. I had to change the settings for location to “only when I’m using the app” and it solved the problem. BUT then yesterday I come to find with that setting none of my drives were being recorded at all. Thank goodness I haven’t needed any footage. Also yesterday I saw there had been an update, that’s how I found out about the lack of recording, and changed the settings back to always track location and turned on the optimize battery. My phone still over heated and the battery was drained. And I wasn’t even driving. It didn’t fix the issue at all. So what ever you guys did to the app in April, get rid of it and go back to how the app was previously.

Pros and cons. This dash cam has both pros and cons the customer service is absolutely terrible as you can see from every review some features on camera don’t work for some reason I can’t get Siri to work as well as groups to work it took me about 2 hours to get it to connect to my iPhone 13 max I had to factory reset the cam after 2 days of trying to get into contact with customer support I ended up searching through google and found the solution the cam doesn’t automatically connect when you get in car must do manually most of time , •Pros cam has great quality Very easy access to videos Kinda user friendly app Easy to move around on windshield doesn’t fall Very small hides perfectly behind mirror

All around great dash cam. Pros: Bluetooth/WiFi capabilities to connect to your phone, automatically saves all clips (you don’t have to manually save)- and it separates specific clips such as drives with “hard brakes” or any other detection like that, easy to get set up with the app, automatically turns on and starts recording when you turn your vehicle on, footage is immediately available Cons: this is with the camera itself- the directions were slightly confusing as it didn’t go over ALL accessories that are in the box. Other than that, literally no complaints. Camera is very much worth the money, app is very easy to use, everything is all around great! Best dash cam I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend (and have already recommended) to friends, family, coworkers, etc! There’s too many crazy people on the road, don’t wait until AFTER you get in a wreck to buy a dash cam, it’s like having insurance with you 24/7, it’s there when you need it most. People do insurance scams all the time, don’t be a victim!

Excellent App, TERRIBLE Battery Drain!!. I love my Nexar camera and the functionality of the app and all, but the battery drain from this app is just like nothing I’ve ever seen. When I connected to WiFi after a 15 minute drive, the app sent my iPhone XS Max battery from 100% to 5% in less than 3 hours. After having to leave my phone plugged in for the rest of the day, charging was severely delayed because the app continued to eat battery!!! Over the course of a day (with only about 30mins spent driving total) it spends an average of 11 hours working in the background, and accounts for nearly 90% of my battery usage. Doing what, I don’t know. This app has no excuse to be doing this, cloud backups should be optional and on-demand. I can not imagine what this would do to the battery of a smaller/older iPhone. Please fix it Nexar!!!

Would Give 5 Stars, But App Drains Battery. I love this camera, the quality is amazing especially since I do most of my driving at night. The automatic record start and stop works every time without a hitch. I love how it saves all my recording in an app rather than having to use an SD card. This app would be getting 5 stars if it didn’t drain my battery so quickly. When you have location turned to always on, which is necessary to use the automatic record start and stop feature, it absolutely kills my battery within a couple of hours. Granted I’m on an IPhone 13. If they came out with a fix to this I would totally give this app a 5 star review.

Great app camera is good. Would love to be able to give it a 5 star but after having to return 2 cameras for glitchy issues this 3rd one still has the same problems. Constantly stops and starts recording during my driving. Or it will just completely stop recording all together. With my job I can’t afford for this type of thing to keep happening. I’m constantly having to turn the camera off and back on to reset it. Sometimes the light will blink when it’s not recording sometimes it’s solid and sometimes it’s off. Never had any problems with shaking pictures so instead. Fix this problem. I’d hate to be in an accident thinking I had video proof of it and nothing being there. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Good dashcam but the app drains my battery hard. I have a new iPhone 13 Pro Max and this has been happening ever since I use the app with the dashcam. Yesterday it drained 60% of my entire battery and when I look at the battery page in settings it says that Nexar has been running in the background for ~70% of the time. I’ve turned off background app refresh for Nexar a few weeks ago yet it still runs in the background?? After I’m done driving too?? Huge battery drain because that was 3 hours after fully charged and my phone is already at 40%…. So in 3 hours Nexar essentially drained 60% of an iPhone 13 Pro Max’s battery… Great dashcam but how much do I want to sacrifice my battery life that usually lasts the whole day, I don’t know.

Great, but could use some adjustments. I’ve had Nexar in my car now for almost 6 months and it’s incredible! Best dashcam I’ve ever had. It’s really great at video quality and storage on the app and your phone. However I have noticed one thing I wish could be changed. Nexar does this thing where it will save what it feels like are “incident reports” and put them in your app storage. These videos cannot be deleted and I wish that could be changed. I only ask for the change because I have about 50+ “incident reports” and it’s just my garage opening or a car or person driving/walking past my parked car when I’m at work. Out of all the saved “incident reports” I really only need 4 of them because they were “hard breaks.” I only ask for the option to delete them like you can the trips you record simply because it’s starting to take up all the free space on my phone. Since downloading Nexar, I’ve put 55GB’s on my phone just from this app. It’s not a major issue, because I have a 120+ GB phone so space isn’t a problem, but some of the space could be freed up due to the nonexistent incidents occurring on my app.

Camera Great, App is Terrible!!!!. The camera has great video and super clear but the app is terrible! The app does not always connect to the camera and I will have to open the app and start the camera manually. There are times when the camera has to be synced again as well. Now, for what’s even worse…..since the iOS update the app has become problematic. The app will use 50% of the battery life in a couple of hours. This causes the iPhone to die on a couple of hours and to heat up to almost feel like it’s going to burn you. I spent over 5 hours in 2 trips to Apple to figure out what was wrong with my phone and it turns out this app is the culprit. This happened to 2 phones in our household. This is terrible seeing as we spent money to trust Nexar with our vehicle investments. I may just go back to using my GoPro at this point.

I bought two cameras and they are so unreliable. My wife and I each got one 6 months ago and we regret it so much. At first we were fooled because they seemed to work great, but it wasn’t long before the video recordings became distorted like green spots and pink skies. We contact support and they were responsive but very difficult. Eventually the issue was fixed but it seems every time one issue is fixed another pops up. Lately it’s been constant disconnects while driving. They will record for 3 min, stop recording for 5 min, then start again. Of course it didn’t capture an incident I had, which is the whole point. Bottom line is you can’t trust this camera to be there when you need it. It’s an appealing choice because it’s affordable and initially works. But you will soon regret it.

Lifesaver (and great customer service!). I had this app as a standalone app on my phone for months (no external camera), and in May some guy cut me off and I had $9,000 2 in damages to my car. Thanks to the video both the cops and the insurance companies quickly assigned fault to the other driver - not bad for a free app! Afterwards my phone kept shutting down because of the Texas heat, though, so I bought a Nexar camera. It automatically runs in the background, it’s awesome, I don’t even have to think about it. My sticker attachment fell off, though, so I reached out to customer service and they mailed me a suction cup adapter for free! Crazy! Really happy, I recommend that app to everyone.

Great and terrible. The nexar app and dash cams are the best in my option in the market plus free cloud storage I have been using them for 6 years now and the one major issue witch is the only issue is the battery consumption on your phone for recording while driving then uploading when your connected to WiFi I have an IPhone 13 max pro for me to drive 45 mins then get somewhere and it uploads in the background between drive time and upload starting at 100% battery when I leave will shoot you down to an unimaginable 45-60% battery verys on the phone signal as well lower speeds means longer upload and more battery consumption. Do not know what it is using so much battery for but usually want to delete the app because of this.

Ok. My apologies, I just uninstalled the app and re-installed it and notice that there’s an option to have the app not stream automatically. I shut that thing off as it was a battery drainer on my iPhone every time I was near my vehicle 🚗. Even when exiting the stream the app would notify again and again and start streaming. So I turned that feature off now let’s see how it goes. If anyone is suffering from over heating iPhone just turn off auto stream.P.S. you guys are quick to respond and love that. Great support. Will contact through the app if any other issues. 👍🏽👍🏽

Not worth it. I bought this dash cam with extremely high hopes with all of the advertisements they had to offer unfortunately to me it’s just a scam to get you to purchase this Dashcam I am surprise there is no class action lawsuits pending for false advertisement I reached out to customer service with zero results on why I cannot create a group I can’t even connect my phone to other cameras in different vehicles I own to me it’s just all one big scam. maybe it’s the app maybe it’s the camera the connection is definitely broken somewhere and next-door really has failed customer service is terrible.

The best I’ve owned. I’ve owned several dash cams. All of the leading brands and Nexar is hands down the best. My Nexar has lasted longer than any of the others, and offers way more for your dollar. Like all dash cams you use an SD card, which I only use as an emergency backup. The Nexar can record directly to your phone which is great, if something happens you can easily show the police officer exactly what happened. My favorite is it records everything to the cloud which is free. Did I mention they have replacement parts if you happen to break something. Oh, and they’re free! I love Nexar and will never own any other dash cam.

Love my Dash Cam, App Needs Some Features. Cameras are great, but it gets really old trying to free up space on my device, or because I don’t want all my drives stored on my device forever. Really need the ability to select multiple clips under the activity tab to delete multiple at a time. Keep making great hardware that works well with the software, I’m looking forward to my Nexar One preorder! Pretty minor complaint given how well everything else works. TIP: if you’ve ever changed phones make sure you go back through the setup process to get the Bluetooth paired again. Without Bluetooth connecting and starting drives automatically is definitely less consistent.

Great idea, one serious issue. So I like the quality of the camera and clips. However I must give this two stars as I have been dealing with an issue for months with no solution. My problem is being unable to access the interior camera view when making a clip using the app. We have gone as far as replacing the camera itself and the problem persists. The whole idea to having the interior view is to access it on the fly just like I can with my front facing camera. Thank goodness I haven’t been rear ended or something yet because I wouldn’t have access to that view. I have done every troubleshooting steps and have been in communication with them for months now. They need to fix this. I think it’s definitely a software problem as the problem did not exist when I first purchased but only arouse after a few updates to camera and app.

Great Dash Cam If Everything Will Work Properly. Bought 2 Beam W/GPS (2021 release) and paired them to my device and they worked great for a while one day out of the blue the dash cams would disconnect randomly. Got that fixed then started having issues where the recordings would cut out. For example out of a 45 minute drive only 6 minutes of the drive we’re actually recorded( I was also told that even though the recording cut out on the app I could always pull out the SD card and download the full drive to my computer; Guess what this is not the case) Went through all Nexar supports trouble shooting multiple times (the same steps) with no solution. I was sent a replacement dash cam and still have the same issue. So 2-4 weeks into dealing with customer support and the 3 ring circus I’m not sure what to do. Apparently they don’t know what to do or how to fix it. Good to see I’m not the only one having this issue.

Great camera for a great price. My wife and I were searching for a dash cam so we would have video evidence in the event of an accident. We found the Nexar dash cam at Walmart and, after a few minutes of installation (I opted a simple installation over a more intensive one) we were watching the video on my iPhone app. I ran into trouble when trying to get it running on my wife’s iPhone. I contacted customer service and after a brief description of my problem the service tech had me all fixed up. I’d not only recommend the camera but the service also.

Not a terrible app. But!. Download this app last year in September. App did everything it suppose to do. Sense having the app, nothing would get back up like I normally have it do thru my phone. I did talk to apple the other day. They talk me thru all the steps and saw thru my phone, what was going on. They couldn’t do much but wanted to call me on Monday and go they the software thru senior tech support. Just now going thru apps i never use. And saw this app Nexar, deleted it off my phone and now phone is backing up like it should have been. Something on this app doesn’t corroborate with backing up thru ICloud. Will never download this app again! I don not trust it. Almost nine months were I couldn’t backup anything thru ICloud. Now I I know why and Apple tech support agrees.

Great function but noticed some problems.. Great functions app. Good video quality, and I don’t even need to think about my dash cam I know it’s always recording once I’m in and driving. My biggest problem is in order to do this you need to let it always know your location, and this drains your battery very quickly. My 2nd issue is the app will take up a considerable amount of space on your phone. Even after deleting the clips it records the app will remain the same size as if it still holds that data. I’ve been using it for just 2 months and it’s already at 10gb. I still would recommend product but in fairness I would mention these issues to some that asks about it.

Editing. I bought the Nexar Beam because I’m a truck driver and thought it would be great to have an onboard camera that streams to my phone. However, there area a few things that makes this camera a hassle. 1: When I start driving it starts recording just fine. But it doesn’t stop recording until I park, There are no intervals. So if I drive 8 hours straight it’s a full 8 hour video. Editing would be easier if there were intervals like every hour. 2: editing is almost impossible. I open a video to edit and I can’t get the little arrows to separate to find the part of the video I want to make a clip of. I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro. If editing gets better and intervals in recording happen it will make it a better system. Right now it was a waste of my money.

Lots of flaws. Recording quality is good however the app and external camera interaction needs major work. You can’t seem to mute alerts from your Nexar camera, even though the app has an option to mute alerts. Is this for something different? No explanation. So camera beeps every time you get in and out. Also, the app wants to use your location “Always” which drains my battery - so I turn it to “while using the app” - then half the time the camera doesn’t work. Why? The camera connects to Bluetooth, so start recording when it’s powered on and connects to Bluetooth. It should not need my location constantly for that. It’s only later when you go into the app WHEN YOU ACTUALLY NEED a clip, to find out that it didn’t record anything, and recently I learned it hadn’t recorded anything for over a month. Even if the app wasn’t operating, it’s got an internal SD card - so why wouldn’t it record there and then download to my phone when it connects? Nope. That also means the camera is not operational when someone else drives your car (ie: a valet, a dealership etc) if your phone isn’t present. Good concept but I wouldn’t rely on it.

What to expect. This road camera functions right out of the box. Download the app, unpack the box, pair it to your phone, plug it into power in your vehicle, and it's done. No extra steps. No calling technical support. I got in, started the car; it began recording automatically. The integrated route planning works excellent. My drives are on my phone and the cloud. I expected more trial and error. This was not the case. The quality is HD, it records sound if you tell it to, and the playback is one-touch. Then there is parking mode. You park, and it keeps an eye on your car. I was not aware of this option, and it was a pleasant surprise. Five stars plus!!

Incredible app. I Purchased the Nexar camera that they advertised on Facebook Which required the use of the app. After downloading the app I have had nothing but positive things to say about the way my camera runs and auto syncs to my phone. It auto records incidents when it detects unusual G-force. The best part, because it’s an app that I use on my phone when I’m in someone else’s car that doesn’t have a camera set up in the vehicle I can just use the camera from my phone. The company is always updating the app and has always been very fast to respond with any conversations that I felt I needed to have with them as for things that I’ve noticed with the app.

Love the interaction between cam & phone. I had previously occasionally used the Nexar app before I got the camera, using the iPhone’s camera. But the dash mount didn’t hold it high enough to see over the dash. The camera is permanently mounted and always available with what looks like a 150 degree horizontal view. When I turn on the ignition the camera gets power and the image automatically switches from the phone’s camera to Nexar within 30 seconds. The Nexar app is always open on my phone and uses the phone’s accelerometer to note accidents and sharp braking. I initially thought that the Nexar cam was primarily to protect me from other drivers but now, concerned that it’s recording any stupid moves of mine, it serves to ensure that I am driving responsibly.
