Worst Streaming App I Have. Definitely disappointed in this app. I recently downloaded it to watch The L Word: Generation Q and immediately realized I can’t even connect to my Chromecast through my iOS device, only my LG tablet. As if that’s not bad enough, it doesn’t even allow me to connect most times. It continued to say that there’s “an error connecting to device”, super inconvenient. I ended up having to watch the show on my tablet at home smh. The layout is very poorly created and there’s so many steps just to play a certain episode of a show. It doesn’t resume where I left off I have to manually guess where I need to start watching again. All in all, after this show is over I’m deleting/unsubscribing.

Profiles needed. This app would be greatly improved by adding profiles, so multiple viewers could more easily keep track of where they are or what they’ve seen in the shows, movies or series. Most households consist of more than one person, and it is annoying when you stop watching something, and then someone else starts and messes up where you’ve left off. It’s also the ‘glitchiest’ streaming app that I have… and I have quite a few. If it was free, I wouldn’t complain about this, but when I’m paying for the service, I appreciate not having to start and stop over and over again to watch a show.

Video works well, playback controls lacking. I've had no problems browsing and streaming content, but other than the typical forward/backward click-and-drag scrubber, all they have is a "back 30 seconds" button. 30 seconds is too far back 90% of the time. I usually just missed the last 10 seconds of dialogue, and if you really need 30, hitting a 10-second button three times is simple. So a smaller increment please! Having a forward-10-seconds button to undo that would be nice too. I do like the easy on/off close captioning button, though only seems to work for English because it doesn't seem to have a language selector. But for me, a native English speaker, being able to turn it on and off without disrupting play is awesome, and it's the first app I've seen with this. Having an option to turn CC on only for a back-10-seconds playback would be cool though, where it turns on just until you get back to the spot where you originally hit the button. Overall, the app does the job. But the meager playback controls are probably the most frustrating I've found in a video app.

How do I cancel???. I only got this to watch some Colbert report video. This isn’t my first free trial, and I know it should be easier than logging into the app, being told to dig into iTunes, not seeing anything there regarding this specific subscription, and being right where I was. It shouldn’t be this hard to stop paying for a subscription. Edit* I found out how to do it, and this may be on Apple’s end or maybe mine. Add in a way to control your subscription through the app, please. I only came to see the thing I did, and I doubt I’m missing much. The UI was buggy, didn’t work as well as other also buggy UI’s with chrome cast. Get with it guys, I know TV money’s drying up, but pay your programmers more.

Ok, could be a lot better. Ok so don’t get me wrong I love Showtime and it’s content but this Showtime app just isn’t it. Ok he user interface is not up to par with the rest of the stream apps and even the player interface is lacking many features that it’s competitors have. I should be able to create a favorites list of shows for quick access. And even when you search a show the layout of the shows is confusing and not well done, it doesn’t even show which showed you’ve already watched. Also like someone said before for whatever reason this all is constantly buffering on iPhones. I would just like showtime to go through do a complete overhaul of this app and create a functional UI.

Not sure why Showtime can’t link anything. Like most people, I don’t have cable. I own an Apple TV and subscribed to Showtime. The confirmation I got told me to download “Showtime” not “Showtime Anytime.” These are two different apps. I figured this one out on my own, downloaded Showtime Anytime and logged in with my iTunes account. It worked for exactly 48 hours. Now when I open Showtime Anytime it says I’m not logged in and I have to sign in with a cable TV provider to continue. There is no other option. I can’t log in using my iTunes account that I paid for the subscription with. There’s no “restore” button. To watch Showtime I have to go into the Apple TV’s main search, search specifically for what I want, and then it will open. The Anytime app is useless and I have no way to browse content. Needless to say I won’t be keeping this subscription.

Abruptly stopped working, but it’s been fixed.. Update: bug has been patched, app is working fine again. 👍 After 30 days of normal use, all of a sudden this app will not load. Like, at all. It spends about a half a second on the Showtime loading screen then conks out. I’ve reset the phone, deleted the app, reinstalled the app- nothing works. I’ll have to cancel my subscription pretty soon here if ya’ll don’t fix it- and that’d be a shame cuz I’d have to stop hate-binging Billions: the show where all characters have infinite deep-cut knowledge of all things pop culture and sports and make comparative references to said things in every line of dialogue. That’s right- I’d have to cancel it harder than Fox did after 6 weeks of Chevy Chase in the Fall of ‘93. (Feel free to use that one) Aaaanyhoo, please do the needful and link me to the customer-facing Sev2 ticket addressing the iOS update breaking the app. (I want to see real-time updates on progress. Using iPhone XR, iOS v.14.4.1)

SHOWLESS. This is by far one of the worst streaming apps EVER. Poorly designed. Same tired content. Same docs. Same movies. Nothing new and if it is new it’s one show! Too much about boxing. Docs are limited. Dated. Nothing decent at all. But the biggest issue is the loooong annoying movie description and NO TRAILER to anything. Seriously???? I have to go to YT, find the trailer then come back to the app. Come on!!! Just lazy. Check out Tubi. Now that is how you do things. Plenty of content. Great choices. Movies from all decades and TRAILERS in the app. Yes they have ads but the app is FREE!!! They have so much more content that it’s worth the 2m ad. How is this not happening with Showtime? Absolute waste of money and time. Your ONLY redeeming quality is the ability to download but this is not quite accurate either. You still have to be on WiFi. Ugh!!! Just awful. This app is worth maybe .25 cent a month…maybe. 🙄Your latest update was a new thumbnail. Woohoo!

Can’t get through an episode. I’m trying to watch Dexter and I can’t get through one episode without multiple glitches. It will either skip backwards like a broken record, replaying the same 5 seconds over and over, or it will freeze or just go black. I either have to wait for it to start working again or switch between watching on my tv and iPad just to finish one episode. The same thing keeps happening on both. I know it’s not a network issue on my end bc no other streaming service is having trouble connecting or streaming. I tried downloading the episodes to see if I could watch it all the way through that way, but it won’t download either. If this doesn’t get fixed soon, I won’t have showtime anymore. It’s not worth paying for if I can’t actually watch something all the way through. UPDATE: Responding with “let us troubleshoot with you” won’t fix the problem. The problem isn’t on my end. It’s obviously a problem on your end bc if you look at the reviews, especially the recent ones, everyone is having the exact same problem. The few recent 5 star reviews all say the same thing (“Dexter/Showtime is the best!”) and I’m starting to wonder if those are even real people reviewing this app or you guys trying to keep your rating up.

The cancellation flow is tricky. I tried to cancel the subscription before my billing day, and thought I succeeded since the 30 day free trial ads came out on the screen and also top right corner like what it did before I subscribed. But noooo, it turns out I have to find and click the very small line of “no I still want to cancel” on the 30 day free trail page to finalize my cancellation. Learnt that after I got charged today. And I feel getting tricked which is not a good feeling. I wanted to cancel in the first place because of some tech preference such as the ui and recommendation doesn’t serve well to me but now I just feel like I don’t want to use this service ever again.

Infinite Storm Review (and side note about HBOmax). (This review box popped up and I don’t know if it is for HBO or the movie i just watched). Anyway,a phenomenal experience; so much more than a movie. I’ve never seen a better piece of art about grief..this is up there with Picasso’s war painting/s, The Scream, Bird Song (by Phillip Glass) and perhaps Deer Hunter and Toni Morrison’s Beloved and John Trudel’s life. As for showtime…liking much here..therapeutic some of it like the movie infinite storm. Would be nice to effect play speeds and perhaps have place for social connection/comments or whatever though the latter is probably way too much to ask. Can’t believe what is available these days to watch (and the quality too) compared to the old days not long ago.

Amazing App. Don’t watch THE HUMANS the most pointless lame excuse for a rated R movie ever absolutely nothing happens in the movie and when I say nothing I mean nothing these people sit at a table and have a Thanksgiving dinner and it’s all pointless conversation for an hour and a half I didn’t even watch the last 10 minutes because I figured if nothing had happened yet nothing was going to happen this movie should be NR and taken off of this app!!! Besides that this is an awesome app I love it I got it to watch Dexter and I found a lot of other good shows and movies.

Struggled with multiple shows. It has been so frustrating to have a spinning wheel all throughout playback. I have even tried to delete the app and put it back, and I can not get through a single show without pauses, having to start a show from the beginning and never getting to the end of an episode. I double-checked by watching other apps, and all was just fine.

App Has Issues. I love Showtime, the content is awesome, but the app is meh. If you download shows to watch offline, they always skip or freeze and there is no way to fix it other than watching back on wifi. It’s like the files are corrupted. Occasionally even on wifi it still does it during streaming. Plenty of others have had the same issue. It’s not my internet connection. All the other apps are working flawlessly. Just some bugs that need to be worked out is all. But it is pretty annoying at times.

GOOD SHOWS, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE APP!. This is the worst most joke of a streaming service app out of all of them which is baffling since its showtime.. i cant even find a way for help other than showtime claiming its my problem on my end when its theirs, just like many others are claiming. Im so disappointed that i have been paying monthly for an app that glitchy at best, and UNUSABLE at times.. while watching any show or movie you may or may not get interrupted with it stopping, loading and saying “cannot play title” or something of the sort. Then you close the app over and over and it wont let you resume that same title but will allow you to start a new movie or show but cant finish what you were watching. Id give it NO STARS if it were an option. I want a refund for the months that Ive had this unusable app and i will be canceling when I'm done writing this review unless something is done to fix it.

Constant need to log in again, doesn’t cast anymore, no auto play. There are a few persistent as well as a new issue with this app: 1. When you log into the app with your tv subscriber, it only keeps you logged in for a limited time, even when you’re signed into that tv provider with your iPhone. Very annoying to constantly have to re-enter your credentials. 2. Would be nice if the app auto played the next episode of a show. Also it would be nice if, similar to Netflix, you could pick up right where you left off in an episode/show from the home screen. But you have to go back into search, click through etc, to go to the last episode you watched and continue from there. 3. I used to watch shows from the app on my tv via my chrome cast, but for the past few months, there is no longer an option to cast from the app. I’ve troubleshooted, downloaded the latest app version, etc. yet nothing. All of my other streaming apps continue to work with chrome cast. This is a major drawback as this has resulted in my no longer using the app since this issue started (for at least 5 months now). Developers, when will this be fixed?

Showtime for one. I love showtime and the shows it has. I was between Paramount and Showtime and I did the free trial for both. I know they are both within the CBS umbrella so hopefully showtime will get absorbed by paramount app because they offer profile options and showtime doesn’t. There are four people at my house that watch and I don’t want to watch what they watch or get recommendations because of what they watch or see the continue watching of their leftovers. If they fix this it would be an ok platform but both paramount and showtime alone can’t compete with HBOMAX. Put them together and now you are talking.

One of the worst apps to use offline.. Downloading content for offline take forever...plan to have it 4x times the length of the content (1hr show will take about 4hrs to download). It will lock up several times during its downloading, and the only way to get it back to being responsive is to force quit it and re-launch it. Then when you go to play your recorded content back be prepared to only watch 10min of it before it crashes out with a generic “Server Error”...and wouldn’t you know it when go back to play your content again, it has no idea that you made any progress on it, so you gotta fast forward to where you think it crashed...play 10min more only to repeat this process. Worst app ever made for downloading and playing back offline content. UPDATE - It’s been more then a year that submitted this review and they have yet to address any of these issues.

Absolutely Terrible. This is the absolute worst streaming app I’ve ever used. I couldn’t get through more than a minute or two of any episode of the show I was trying to watch before it started to glitch, then eventually fail. I’d be watching, then out of nowhere, the show started looping. The same 8-10 seconds would play and repeat about 3 times, then a network error would pop up and say the episode is unavailable. This happened with every movie or show I attempted to watch. To troubleshoot, I switched back and forth between Wi-Fi and cellular streaming, restarted my phone several times, and deleted and reinstalled the app twice. I tried for a solid 45 minutes before I giving up.

Needs to be accessible. Voiceover is my screen reader that iPhone uses like I said the main page of the app when you open, it works great with voiceover it’s just the player it’s just when I click on the movie and it starts playing and I run my finger across the screen it doesn’t do nothing I can’t get the rewind pause fast forward button or player back so if you can fix that thank you guys keep up the good work that’s the only thing it needs to be accessible is when you get into the player besides that it’s a really great app everything else is accessible with my voiceover I can run my finger, crossed the screen ever tell me the name of the titles and the movies The main page the whole app works great with my voiceover. It’s just when I click on a movie and hit play and it goes into the player. I can’t ask it without closing the app I meant to say exit without closing the app if you can just get a hold of some tools to make your player accessible I’ll change my rating and I’ll subscribe I will actually go ahead and change it up to three stars This is a really great app. I love it I love listening to movies but I’m asking if you can make your player accessible because I can’t see I love listening to movies but I need it accessible with voiceover. I’m using an iPhone 12 pro max. Thank you. on iOS 16.2. and if you can do that, I will give you a five star rating.

App is crashy, poor design. I was very excited to get showtime as I love so many of their shows, but the app has been a major let down. Offline playback is nearly impossible. The app crashes after less than 10 minutes of playback, every time. About 50% of the time the player won’t rotate. I’m shocked this app has such a high rating with such a bad video player. As a new user I’ve found the design confusing. It took me a week to find where my currently watching shows are. Why aren’t they on the front page of the app? Why isn’t there a “pick up where you left off” on the series page? Two stars only because playback when connected to WiFi works okay.

Worst Streaming App EVER!. I recently downloaded the Showtime app because showtime is not available on my Vizio TV, and let me tell you.. this app freezes, buffers, goes black, just plain out doesn’t play anything every time I go to use it. I am on a fairly new iPad Pro and have very good internet, yet the am still not able to stream off this app. All my other streaming apps work great! Never have issues with them, I only ever have issues with Showtime, which leads me to believe it is the Showtime app itself that is the issue. From doing research online, I found I am not the only one and this is a very reoccurring issue. I’m highly disappointed to say the least. Showtime, get it together please! This is so frustrating, I can’t get through 20 minutes of an episode without the network giving out😤 about to give up and cancel my account.

What are you guys doing?. I pay for Showtime through my cable provider. It’s bundled with HBO. Do you think I’m denied the HBO Max experience because of that? No, of course not What service am I supposed to be using with you guys, Showtime Now? Showtime Later? Showtime Anywhere? What a messy mess you’ve created. I see very few offerings that justify a continuous subscription to your service in the first place. I then see a show I want to watch on Showtime through Apple TV and have to download some crummy 720p old app that’s glitchy, that I’m not even sure is the correct one. Fix this. It’s incredibly stupid. To the showtime developer response: thanks for the follow up. I will pass on your suggestion to use Showtime Anytime 720p and cancel my subscription instead. Good luck with your brand!

Good shows, confusing presentation. I really like Showtime, especially the movies that aren’t available on the other services. I don’t want Paramount Plus, though, and don’t appreciate having to exit out of 2 nag screens on my Roku before I get to Showtime. I probably won’t continue my subscription because of the promotional content. Also, Apple needs to add Showtime and HBO Max to Apple TV channels. It is ridiculous having to own 2 streaming devices to access all the subscription services. As with many platforms, and I have tried almost all of them, it’s the execution of the app and not the actual programming that affects the viewing experience.

Terrible. Ok so this app is just out right terrible. Showtime its self is a good streaming service with a great selection of content that is not the issue. The issue is with the design of the app, I subscribe to most of the streaming services available and Showtimes app is by far the worst. Now I feel this is a huge shame as Showtimes content with verity and just out right quality shows is one of if not the best streaming service for TV seasons etc. Just the navigation and design of the app puts it down at the bottom of all the streaming services. At first I thought it was me and I was just missing some menu or button but after asking my family and others I know they all had the same problems. Now I’m sure when you eventually figure out how to perform simple tasks on the app then what I’m saying would seem silly, but that is the issue after 4 weeks using the app I am still unable to skip backward 2 episodes, or buying up the list of episodes for instance. I genuinely went on to my local university to see if there was a coarse or something Showtime expect you to take to be able to navigate the app, I have no issue performing any functions when watching on different platforms e.g. Roku threw my television but the Apple app for me with a masters in software engineering, its just to complicated to use.

Awful & glitchy. I got this app two days ago and have had nothing but problems. My show either stops after 5 minutes or it replays the same scene over and over. If I FF 10 seconds it’s fine for another minute or so and then the same. It even lost sound once. I’m constantly closing it out and refreshing. Way too much aggravation to watch my show. I am on Wi-Fi but that shouldn’t matter anyway, every other streaming app I have works just fine if I’m not on Wi-Fi. This is not a great into to the 30 day trial. I’ll probably cancel before they bill me. Really sad because I really wanted to keep it and watch dexter next.

Worst Streaming Service App. I have never enjoyed using an app for a streaming service less than I do this one. The interface is useless when watching a series and you are tying to pickup where you left off. The way the My List portion works is useless and makes you constantly search for the series you are watching to find what you are looking for. Recently watched series need to be available on the first page. It also frequently starts you over at the beginning of an episode you have partially watched. It always rotates the wrong way when you begin playing. There is also no button to jump forward in specific increments. Absolutely awful!

Search?. What a bizarre navigation system this app has. It is not compatible with a keyboard. When you select the “search” option, if you decide that you actually don’t want to do a search or accidentally selected it, there is no way to get off of the page. You can’t tap on a blank space to return to any of the other navigation. You have to type something in the search and press enter, in order to get the navigation tab on the bottom to show up again. Or, if you are using a external keyboard, you have to select the keyboard icon on the bottom and hide it in order to go to the nav bar again. There isn’t even a “cancel” option in the search bar even when an external keyboard isn’t connected. Someone didn’t think this one through.

Navigation is awful. This app (on firestick) isn’t just not user friendly, it’s user hostile. If you want to watch a series from the beginning (e.g. Dexter) there’s no way to add the show to a watch list. Every time you log in you have to go to the menu, series, scroll through all shows until you find it, find the season you want (newest first, of course), then the episode. You get to do this every time you log in. If you watch more than one show, you do it for that show too. This is such a fundamental blunder in design that it makes me angry each time I use it. It is mind bogglingly bad. There’s not even a search function to enter the name of the show. You can’t even pick up where you left off because if you go to menu, recently watched it restarts the last episode you watched. The only possible explanation I have for this poorly designed app is that it was created by someone that does not watch television and doesn’t understand how tv shows work.

Review. I wish you had more real life docs like the Time for Death. we need more shows that make us realize what is important. thank you for that. another reason I didn’t give u five stars, your app doesn’t allow me to minimize it. horrible! I will probably cancel after i’m done with the docs just for that reason. sometimes I need to text or something while i’m watching and don’t want to restart.

Garbage. This app has recently and consistently received 1 star ratings for the exact same basic reason …it doesn’t work. Any competent developer would immediately address customer satisfaction issues by resolving ASAP.. You will see that the same issue is raised repeatedly by users - app freezes, crashes, can’t get thru show. Sort by most recent and you will quickly see what I am describing. The developer, if they respond, will cut and paste the same response- contact customer care, we are sorry you are disappointed, we want to work through this issue with you and your device. None of those extra steps should be needed if you have a reliable app that works! Whose going to pay for a subscription that you need to sit on a support call because the developer’s app doesn’t work? No one has time for such nonsense. I’m actually surprised this app is still available. Seems off with all the 1 star ratings that the ratings matrix isn’t updating reflecting the recent and consistent 1 star ratings.

Bug fixed! ~ old post: Cannot get through one episode of dexter without this app crashing. I recently got a showtime subscription and I can rarely finish an episode of dexter without some buttering time loop or the app not being able to connect. This is driving me insane as I just want to watch this show and have spent hours in loading screens and buffering while trying to watch this show. Needs to be a functional app for a solid review from me. Update; Bud fixed, showtime is really running the show now!

Needs user interface improvement.. I enjoy the content however the App needs serious improvement. When watching multiple episodes, there should be an option to skip the opening theme. When the show ends, there should be an option to skip the credits and start the next episode instead of playing through the entire credits. There is no good fast forward button when watching content. The tracking function to fast forward doesn’t show the time as your are advancing. There is poor organization as far as choosing an episode when watching a show. Why have all of the shows just out and cluttering the screen, when you could organize them into season folders? Do yourselves a favor and look at what Netflix and HBO do as far as their user interface and how their apps are set up and do likewise.

Trash. I’m big on streaming services and I took a chance on showtime to not only watch but PAY FOR a PPV. Never got the chance. Had to use a whole other platform that worked great unlike this service. Didn’t even have the respect enough to tweet out updates and acknowledge the problem until the fights were over and didn’t even provide a direct link for customers to get a refund. A refund should be automatic knowing you were selling a services that was not met. On top of that people made plans, and spent additional money and time for this event that you ultimately ruined. Trash app. Trash service. Trash company. And I hope you fix, compensate and suffer for this mistake.

So many glitches, unfortunately sigh!. First of all, showtime itself has a great selection; it has some of my favorite atm binging shows. But the problem is with the amount of glitches and issues this app has - it sometimes repeats the same 5 seconds over and over until it craps out completely. Or it just shows network issues and then I can’t resume the show/movie, even after shutting the app down manually. Amount of unfinished shows and movies are piling up on my list now and it’s really frustrating. Idk why showtime is having such a tough time with developing its app as all my other streaming platforms are working great. Shame really, coz it could be an awesome service otherwise.

Consider some changes. Showtime, do better. Your app has specific issues that need addressing and make it stand apart from other streaming service apps in a negative way. So many better ways to improve UI/UX: Rewind Instead of allowing users to scrub through the episode and have a visual of how far back or forward you’re actually going. I can’t see where I am so I’m doing more FF and REW to get to the right spot. There’s a separate button to rewind and fast forward instead of being able to simply scrub along the track. That’s an unnecessary step too. Next Up Episodes Often the next episode is coming and the episode I’m watching isn’t even done yet. Should know not to end the episode and auto-begin the next one until there is no more show left to see, even if it happens after the credits (rare but should be considered) Loading Shows and movies and CONSISTENTLY being interrupted by reloading. This is 2022 and none of the other apps I use have this issue. I’ve literally begun playing a game where I try to guess the next action or words the actor is going to say. Closed Caption Options are too big. Small is really large.

Constant issues using Apple TV. I haven’t been able to watch a single show on our Apple TV’s without the playback glitching and rewinding back 5-10 seconds multiple times before kicking me out of the show/movie. Then when I try to go back into the show/movie it fails. The only way to get back into the show is to close out the application. Then periodically it occurs again. It happened 5 times on one show and twice in the first 3 mins of 21 Bridges. Fix this or I will be cancelling my subscription. I have 5+ subscriptions with other companies and no issues. This is not a WiFi bandwidth issue either. This is clearly bugs in the application and poor integration with the newest versions of Apple TV.

Great app!!. I downloaded this app because Netflix was taking off one of my all time favorite shows, The Tudors. I like to go back and rewatch this show now and then and was happy that it is available on here as it is an original Showtime series. I am also seeing other shows on here that look interesting. This app seems to run very smoothly, which I greatly appreciate! However I was wondering if you can put a rewind 10 sec and fast forward 10 seconds instead of the 30 sec rewind. Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to have it but sometimes if I missed something and want to quickly go back 30 seconds seems kinda long to me. Would greatly appreciate you guys considering this and thank you for a great app!!☺️👍🏼

Trash. This application is terrible. I watch shows on my Apple TV often through Showtime. Going on a work trip I decided to try the app. Terrible mistake. Downloaded the app and logged in just fine. Even downloaded several movies for the long flight. NONE of the movies would play correctly. The stuttered and stopped often and the sound and video would be out of sync when they started playing again. I spent and hour going through starting and stopping a movie, force closing the app for get a few more minutes of movie. Eventually the choppy view was too much and I stopped. When I arrived at the hotel and got onto wifi the same problems showed. I thought it might be my device so I opened Netflix, downloaded and movie and turned off wifi. The download played flawlessly. Opened iTunes, another great viewing experience. Tried Showtime app one last time, again terribly unwatchable. Do not waste your time.

A ranked contender of top 3 streaming service’s. Phenomenal content, great app performance and wide selection. Not much more you can possibly ask or hope for. If they ever did potentially aspire to gain the championship throne and overtake arguably either HBO or Netflix, than in this very credible reviewers opinion they should invest less in the startups with particular emphasis on the cultural push that their making and more emphasis on their proven winners and particularly the numerous amazing series they’ve got only a single season of. My own strong advice would be more crime documentaries like ‘Active Shooter’ since lord knows there’s enough weekly for at least 10 seasons and ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ to name a couple. Make no mistake, they’ve hit solid gold with the Kevin Bacon series and a few more that everyone knows. I wasn’t a fan at all of killing off Micheal C Hall in New Blood! What a blunder that was who’s ever idea that belongs too.

Movies ok- APP Bugs are awful!. The connection to my app was awful even on 800mbps WiFi, I couldn’t watch my movie. When I went to customer service, I kept having to reconnect to the chat when the representative told me to do anything on my phone (reload app, redownload etc). I finally had to figure out the issue on my own, which was that the movie wouldn’t play while downloaded. I kept getting the same error message repeatedly. I had to delete the downloaded movie, and play off the network. I was on a free trial, and I absolutely would not pay for an app or subscription with this many bugs and issues. Very inefficient app, and too many bugs.

Are the 5 star reviews paid?. This app is the glitchiest app I have ever used, which is shocking considering it’s ShowTime. I can get through about 10 minutes of a show and it glitches and stops, I have to restart the app, and pick a different show for it to work again. Now I’m 20 minutes in! Yay! And it does it again. Can’t skip forward, it won’t play, it’s all black. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting my internet modem (everything else is working fine, all other apps…). I’ve tried troubleshooting on the website. I’ve looked up the issue on forums. Nothing works. Can’t even watch a show so what’s the point of the app?

Good for a few months, solid app. Good enough to pay for because of Dexter, Dexter: New Blood (for me), but once I'm done with those, they really need to add some more original content. The app also feels just a tiny bit outdated and the buttons lag, barely (but noticeable enough) at times. My biggest pet peeve is that the downloads take absolutely FOREVER - even on a great wifi network. I don't think I'd be willing to pay the price (once I've seen the Showtime originals) that the app commands for what you get on here.

Great selections of movies and shows. I originally set my subscription up for the show American Rust but it never got renewed. I stuck around for Dexter and watched yellow jackets. I decided not to renew my subscription since they decided not to renew American Rust. And since then there were many shows or movies that would interest me to resubscribe. Now I have the paramount plus and able to watch showtime! Every now and then there are great movies that peaks my interest which is awesome. However… I’m not sure if it’s just the movie or on shows too but the caption option is kind of useless. When I have it on it just places the captions anywhere on the screen blocking a scene or a face and it moves it around. So that’s annoying. Sometimes I like to use the caption if some of the dialogue is not clear or I can’t have the volume up too loud to prevent disturbing my elderly grandmother while monitoring her.

Good content, buggy app. I like the shows that Showtime is making. Their movies aren’t that great in my opinion but their original content overall has been highly entertaining. We really liked Homeland and Dexter. The Showtime app unfortunately has been frustrating due to technical issues. When we watch “Homeland” on any device, it will randomly start looping a 3-5 second scene infinitely and then eventually the episode will crash. Other times the episode will just crash without looping. It is very common for us to restart our Apple TV 1-2 times every episode of Homeland. I looked on their website and they actually mention this issue and the fix is to just restart your Apple TV. That is unacceptable in my opinion. You can’t have an app where your customers are resetting their devices 1-2 times an episode, it just ruins the experience. No other streaming service I have tried has had this issue, which means it can be done. Get it done Showtime and earn that 5th star in my review!

Showtime is a joke. Terrible agent. Instead of explaining anything I asked she just shrugged it off like I was stupid. She tried to make it seem like it was my fault that your servers were down. Instead of trying to help with anything she just gave trouble shooting issues for my router when again it was your servers. You people wasted my time and money on a PPV fight that you should have been prepared for. Showtime is a joke. To make it all worse I still don’t have my $50 dollars back. Showtime scammed me. From now on I will not be using showtime for ANYTHING. This company is a scam. The app was down the whole fight with no solutions and the agent couldn’t even give us an estimated time. Showtime will not get anymore of my money and I’ll make sure I pirate everything that comes from this company.

Worst of the paid streaming apps. I’m sorry to say, this is by far the worst of all the major Marie l paid streaming services. I can’t speak to the content that is included but that’s because the app layout is horrid. If you know what you want to watch, you can search; if you’re trying to browse, then good luck. Also, when trying to pickup where you left off on a series, make sure you remember where you left off, it will always say you are episodes ahead of where you exited. All said, I gave two stars because it does technically play shoes (albeit slowly and laughingly). I will not be paying for a second month.

Good Shows. I have been liking Showtime. My husband and I have finished Dexter and I also have been binging onRay Donavan. My only complaint is that when I change devices, say between my bedroom TV and my iPad during the day, my iPad doesn’t keep up with my place. Every time I start to watch on my iPad in the kitchen, I have to “catch it up” with what I watched the previous night on my TV. Also if my husband and I are watching a series but are not together, it is almost impossible putting it back and forth between what we are watching. They need a personal watcher like Netflix has to keep us straight.

Delete and re-download. As the other recent reviews, when updating to the new version, the app won't run. Solution is to delete it (don't just "remove from home screen", delete it completely) then download it again from the app store. I know some people say they tried that to no avail, but it worked for me, and I'm using iOS 14 too. I haven't subscribed yet, so I don't know what running the app and playing movies is like, but the app quiting on update problem everybody is complaining about can be solved at least.

Love Twin Peaks The Return. Twin Peaks The Return is the only reason I’m using this app and it’s an amazing show. In this current time of streaming services and IP, I’m surprised Paramount + hasn’t ordered another season. A new season would bring more new people (like me) to Paramount +. And let’s face it Paramount needs it. Also it would be great for tv show and pop culture fans who want a streaming service to use great IP that isn’t just comic book properties. Also the original Penny Dreadful was great.

This app has issues. I just got a showtime subscription and so far I haven’t been able to watch ANYTHING. It plays for a minute and completely kicks me out of anything I’m watching and thinks I’ve finished an episode. It does this over and over regardless of restarting my Apple TV or force closing the app on my iPad. Please fix this!! Update- I have deleted the app and reinstalled it. STILL DOESNT WORK. I can’t play more than 30 seconds of a show before it freezes and kicks me out of the episode. I will be canceling this service if they don’t fix this.

Awful. This might possibly be the absolute worst streaming app I’ve used. Crashes 1/3 of the time just trying to open the app. If you’re watching a downloaded video, it’s bound to buffer for an extremely long amount of time. In addition, the app downloads videos very poorly. Loading an already DOWNLOADED video should not require any buffering or loading. Functional but not at all user-friendly when it comes to the interface. Buttons in hard-to-reach places, in need of an easier button to rewind or fast-forward as well.

One of many that bought the Floyd fight. My friends and I decided we were going to bite the bullet and buy the fight. I looked up how many devices can stream at once and it stated 3. Not stated was that they are not like espn ufc fights. What I mean by that is that when you buy a ufc fight you can still stream on 3 devices. With showtime they only allow streaming on 1. I got stuck with a 53 dollar charge and I ended up watching the fight by myself. Also, they weren’t prepared for the traffic. So many error messages trying to make an account. Took forever just get the fight to stream. Terrible experience.

What time is it?. It's just about Yellowjackets season 2 time on Showtime! Which, I have to admit wouldn't have given a second thought if it weren't for Christina Ricci being part of the cast because she is such a talent, her character Misty is such an evil genius and I'm staying on the Showtime app for it. This has got to be one of, if not the best horror television shows I have ever seen. In my 32 years of life, proud to say I've never set foot on a plane and this show reminds me of just how overrated flying truly can be.

Maybe add more titles & shows. I feel like Showtime is lacking more content, but you can’t beat the offer they give out when a new series is released! First month free and $4 I think for the next couple of months and I get to watch the new Dexter series & Yellowjackets. Just wish this app had a bit more though, I wait all week just to see those episodes and I hardly use it for anything else.

Worst streaming platform. As most users have already noted, the Showtime platform is terrible. Whether it’s the mobile app, on tv, or online, it always seems to crash constantly. Not to mention the UI hinders the UX completely, to the point that having to delete and reinstall just to get it to “connect to the network” is reason alone to cancel the subscription. Nothing is intuitive more easy to find. Did they even user test before rolling out the product?! It’s a shame because there is a ton of great content but it’s almost not worth it. I eagerly expect an update/revamp soon enough, but I’m not holding my breath.

Some good some bad. The good: decent quality video. Lots of programming for the price. Not all of the programming is worth watching but the variety is good. The bad: the interface is annoying. You can’t make a favorite list of programs you want to see unless you do each episode. Who wants that hassle. I cant find the skip forward option. They have not learned from Netflix. We don’t want to watch the intro and the rehash. It’s several minutes long and it would be nice to skip it.

App needs some serious updates!! Tons of bad reviews. Not sure how this app has high ratings? Fake? All the reviews I’ve read are terrible just like my experience! For how much showtime charges + expects to get paid their App is absolute crap! It doesn’t keep track of what you’ve watched, doesn’t show you on the main screen. Can’t see which episode you’re watching while watching it! No clue which one you watched last. No 10 second fast forward or rewind (only 30 sec rewind). Can’t skip intro. Never again!!!. Got an email that Billions is back and come back and subscribe again with showtime! So I paid with my CC and the website says it didn’t go through and got an email from my CC company that I have a new subscription with showtime! After wasting time txting on help line with Alicia she told me to pay for it again to be able to watch my favorite shows!!!! Alicia excuse was the charge is still pending and didn’t go through…well Alicia that’s how CC work! It’s a pending charge initially then it will show charged later on!! You DAMF!! Never again…deleted all showtime apps from my devices!!!

Dexter. I thought dexter was cleaned up nicely. The scene of his survival instincts in the ocean were placed. Leaving no clue on how he survived the hurricane. Didn’t have the money to take case international. His son finds him and kills him. Son gets away scotch free and that little booger will not have the innate instincts of his father now that his father is not around.. I liked how his son is not genetically matched with dexter. I feel Harrison had to settle a quick score.

Worst UX I’ve seen in a while.. I downloaded the app and started watching on my tv, the seasons are laid out starting from last to first. Needless to say I started on the season finale of dexter. I’m furious as I made it much of the way through the episode before I stopped and verified that it was not the first episode. I’m a huge fan of the original dexter show and this left a horrible taste in my mouth as the entire first season of the new show is ruined. I’m furious with this app’s layout, as a UX designer I KNOW how apps and websites should work and flow, this deviates hard and was a terrible experience. Get it together Showtime!!!

App is now failing to launch any show and self closes anytime I make a choice. I am a longtime Showtime viewer! I watch it on our Apple TV, MacBook and IPad. I recently began watching on my iPhone 11 and the app is completely unusable. Anytime I click on a show or on the “menu”, the app abruptly closes down. I have tried several times this week and it is not working at all. I searched for an app update but there isn’t one. It needs bug fixes pronto. M-

Good sometimes. Not worth the monthly fee.. I’ve signed up and canceled a few times. I mostly used it to catch up on Shameless. The movie selection is decent sometimes. Every 3 months or so I come across a movie that is only streaming on Showtime and after weighing the pros and cons of re-subscribing for that one movie I just don’t watch the movie. I would probably keep it if there was a $70-$80 yearly fee rather than the monthly. It makes budgeting for something you don’t use that much easier.

Great App...unless you’re a parent. No technical problems with the app. In fact, I like the setup, including the way that My List works - it’s sortable. However, this app does not allow for multiple family member profiles and its viewer restrictions feature is worthless - just check and save, no password. Any kid who knows how settings work can change it. Also, viewer restrictions do not remove mature content from the home screen or suggested content lists, it just keeps the item from being viewed. It’s a good app, but not if you’re a parent.

First Lady. I absolutely love this series!! The actors/actresses did a phenomenal job bringing history back! I’m learning so much about the First Ladies, and what contributions they have made to our country. I hope showtime will have another season and show case another three First Ladies. It’s been awhile since I looked forward to watching a series. Thank you to showtime and the cast and production crews that made that happen.

Quality entertainment. First time signing on with the Showtime app. Looking forward to seeing your new schedule of programming this season. I am looking for employment, hopefully opportunities will open up soon. Apple TV. I got this app for my Apple tv, it is so extremely frustrating to use. I’ve been trying to watch the last 10 minutes of a show for at least 30 minutes now because the app keeps kicking me out, and making me restart so I have to fast forward to where I was, and when I finally get to my spot, it continually freezes and rewinds until it kicks me out again. Luckily I’m on a free trial right now and not paying, but at this point if this is how the app is going to work I definitely will not go past the trial. It should not take close to 2 hours to watch a 50 minute show.

App shuts down and stops working. Almost every time I’m watching something the app just stops working because of some kind of error. I don’t experience it with any other streaming service. It is quite annoying because you’ll be really into a show and then it’ll just stop right in the middle. Sometimes the app will just loop the same couple seconds instead of going on so you have to fast forward out of it. The actual application can use some work.

Does not work. I downloaded this app to complement my viewing for when I am not home on the big tv. I only watch 2 shows on Showtime: Dexter and Billions. Dexter is over now, so imagine my frustration when I can’t watch the other show because this crappy app won’t let me play it. It just crashes back to the Home Screen as if as I hadn’t clicked on the watch button, over and over in a loop as if as Showtime is trying to force me to watch their other shows, I refuse to watch the other crappy shows you have on, I just wanna watch my one show, is that too much to ask?

Lousy app with glitches. Does work on new Apple TV. At random times through a movie it will skip back 15 seconds and keep doing that at spots in the film. Tried resetting and rebooting the unit but this is the only app that is doing it. So the movies are unwatchable and no reason to continue subscription for a useless app. Also the HBOmax and even the free apps seem to be a bit more intuitive with their menus. The selection is also barebones compared to other apps when it comes to content. The only thing it has over its other premium competitor is live channel feed for east and west coast. Crappy app overall.

Needs more subtitles and languages. I really enjoy the movies showtime has but for some reason noticed that the app on my tv didn’t have subtitles or other languages. When I got on the Mobil app I noticed that it did have subtitles but I only had the option for English subtitles. This app would get 5 stars from me if more variety of languages and subtitles in other languages were added. Other than that there is a great selection of movies.

Content, functions are horrible…. CONTENT needs a makeover: 1. Why is Twilight under the genre for horror/sci-fi???!!! 2. Horror and sci-fi should be TWO separate categories 3. I can’t watch on my iOS app vertically… it forces it to be horizontally 4. I searched horror and only Yellowjacket came up under series as the result 5. Coming soon on browser DOES NOT need to take up most of the screen… the ux designer of this needs to get let go 6. The web browser categories are: series, movies, sports, comedy, documentaries, after hour, coming soon, live tv… these are horribly inconsistent categories!!! FAIL 7. Why does current series include dexter new blood and the First Lady? These two series has concluded a few weeks ago… you guys need to up your game or Netflix will always beat you…. I’m so so disappointed in showtime. You guys make so much money and can’t even support family accounts?!?! Get better yo!

Can’t compete with rival apps. It feels like they are trying to make this app different from their competitors’. The interface isn’t very user friendly as the only way to browse is through their drop down menu. Otherwise you can only scroll sideways through their few featured movies. I also have a hard time even getting on the app because the animation that plays at startup always freezes. I have to quit and start up the app several times before I can get on

Not sure what app Y’ALL are using. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but nothing in this app plays except ads. You try to load a movie and it either starts to play and immediately exits back to the screen with the description or after about three tries it will look like its gonna play and then load an ad and then take you back to previously-mentioned screen. People work too hard for their money to be being robbed by Showtime - if you’re unable or unwilling to provide the content people are paying for, a refund is in order. Theft is a criminal offense.

literally terrible. don’t waste your time or money on showtime it’s quite literally the worst streaming app ever. why am i receiving a notification saying “Network Error” on a downloaded episode. i took the time to go in and download each episode since i knew i wouldn’t have wifi for a certain amount of time and now youre telling me im not even able to stream the episodes i downloaded? one, your episodes take centuries to download despite how short they are. two, even after waiting those centuries for your downloaded content they’re not even gonna work. most definitely not continuing my subscription

Great content but playback is terrible. Playback in certain series hangs constantly, regardless of episode. The series American Rust specifically has hung in each episode to the point where the app stops playback completely and returns to the series page then marks the episode as complete. Oddly, the places where the playback hangs is consistent from one day to another. The best case is that it’s mildly annoying and playback resumes after 10 to 15 seconds and the worst case is you can’t finish an episode no matter how much you try.

Downloads don’t work well without internet. When I download movies it is because I will have a bad cellular connection when I decide to watch it. The video takes forever to come up and when it does and I lock my phone, it won’t start where I left off. Netflix does not have this problem with their downloads. Showtime needs to get this working if they want to compete with them. It would also be nice to have an option that skips the intro as well. It’s annoying having to hit the 10 second forward button 20 times to get to the episode.

Cancellation problems. After canceling my account at least 4 to 5 times they proceeded to still charge me. I only downloaded and paid for it to watch one show upon finishing I canceled but noticed I was billed again. This went on so many times I had to contact support over the issue in which I got no answer as to why they were continuing to charge me or why my cancellations were not processing. On top of that out of all 8 months it’s went untouched besides trying to cancel the subscription I was only given money back for the most recent month very sad that they couldn’t give more answers or be of more help.

Error message on 2 separate iPhone versions. Periodically while watching a show I get an error message that states: network error and won’t play the show, or sometimes won’t play at all. I have attempted deleting and reinstalling, restarting my device, tried on 2 separate iPhones 11pro max and 13 pro max. Turning my wifi off then on again, making sure my internet connection is fast enough. And no dice. Also wish it had a skip intro option. But most frustrating is I can’t watch my show. And I would watch on my tv but it’s not a show I can’t watch around my kids so I’d rather just watch it on my phone.

what I like. The show that I like the most or the sex shows. I don’t like to watch shows that are comedy, adventurous or any of the uneducational. I like shows that you learn from it such as shows that are science, documentary,shows that you will learn from it, shows you could get a career out of and shows that kids can learn to produce something or make something out of something.

Streaming Stinks. I’ve always had an issue with this app and streaming, but it’s recently gotten so much worse. I choose to pay for showtime through the app alone so right now, this is going to cause me to cancel the membership. The app disconnects from chrome cast constantly but continues playing on chrome cast. The tv goes in and out attempting to connect while the app indicates it isn’t synced. After trying to sync the two, the tv is further ahead than the app so I have to try and fast forward to get caught back up. By the time I’m caught up again, the app recycles it’s disconnecting which is unreasonably annoying. I hate this app.

Needs “Play from beginning” button. I love showtime and I love the choice of entertainment on showtime (Particularly Desus & Mero. However, I’m trying to rewatch episodes on my phone and I can’t. Since the show is at the very end of its duration and there’s no “Play episode from beginning” button it only plays the last few seconds of the episode and brings me back to the previous screen. Very frustrating because there’s literally nothing I can do to rewatch the Desus and Mero episodes. Besides that this app and showtime is perfect.

Thank you!. I’ve enjoyed this app, because of the content, for a few years. The recent updates have fixed the bugs with keeping the time remaining on a show, correct, when re-opening the app. With the great content and the app working as it should, I am am very happy with the service. Thank you to the engineers and everyone else who worked diligently to fix the issue!

App always misremembers last episode and time. Mostly the app works fine. However it always incorrectly keeps track of which episode and time in the episode I stop at. It seems to always incorrectly think I’m 2 minutes from the end of an episode, when in fact I haven’t started the episode or have just started it. Also there is no way to submit feedback or a bug report for the app. Hence I have to make a bug report in these app reviews…

Worthless. The majority of the time when I try to stream something, the app tells me that my iPad is not connected to Wi-Fi but I can immediately go to another streaming app and it works just fine. I downloaded movies to watch on a plane, but when I was on the plane (without Wi-Fi), the app wouldn’t let me access the movies. Don’t even get me started about trying to stream to a smart tv. They’ve got some shows I like on Showtime but the problem is, I can’t watch them! Unless you’re going to watch it on a computer, I don’t see much value in this app or subscription.

Forward and rewind buttons should be basic. I like the content but hate using your app, the downloaded content always fails and requires restarting the app every five minutes. The rewind 30 seconds being the only control button while every video app has a 15 seconds forward and rewind being basic is a pain. Like I said like the content but make this app usable, it’s as if the programmers never use the app, it’s a pain. Change those two things, make it less buggy, shows mostly start from the beginning instead of where you left the episode.

Issues and more issues. App is very problematic. With cellular data turned off, I can immediately see the user control to display the downloads and quickly start a downloaded movie playing. However, the app crashes every 3 minutes. With cellular data turned on, when in a low signal area, the Showtime logo is displayed, but that's as far as it ever gets. App and phone are up to date, and rebooting the phone didn't help. Also, landscape mode only works with charging port to the left, which isn't the case with most video apps. Maybe that could also be improved upon.

Worst streaming service. I paid $50 to watch the Logan Paul vs Mayweather fight. I have never been one to buy fights or go through extra apps to watch a sporting event. This was my first time splurging, and when it came time for the first undercard fight, the showtime app had a server error. I tried on my TV, phone, and laptop, all of which couldn't connect to the server. Seems like showtime should have expected a couple viewers on the fight. 10/10 do not recommend spending money on showtime app. I will be spending my day figuring out how to get a refund. I hate having to even give the app a 1 star. Terrible.

Pretty buggy. Compared to Showtime’s poor website this app isn’t half bad. But like the website, it’s clear there have been minimal resources committed to this app. It’s impossible to go to your recently watched shows without going there manually. The downloaded shows bug out and force you to restart the app. There is no good fast forward button, neither is there anything to skip the recap/intro. These changes are manageable but in this day and age they are very basic design flaws that could easily be taken care of if Showtime spent any money on it.

Good Shows, but Glitchy. I cancelled Showtime about a month ago hoping the glitches would be resolved after the New Year, but they seem to be worse now. I figured a month would be enough time for IT to fix the software issues, but I guess not. I’ve played Showtime on several devices (over the last couple of days) thinking it was my device, but it’s not the hardware, so it’s probably the app’s software.

Cast button never there. When the button to cast the stream to a device actually appears, I have few complaints about the app. But after closing the app, restarting my phone, restarting my google chromcast, and uninstalling then reinstalling the app, and I’m still unable to cast, I’m near the point of canceling my service. I wanna watch the content on my tv, not on my phone. Why doesn’t the cast button show up when I open the app???

App is inaccessible. I am legally blind and I downloaded this app specifically because I was excited to find content I couldn’t find anywhere else. unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to have audio description for the visually impaired. Or if it does, it is very difficult to find. I downloaded the app on my fire TV as well as my phone and do not see a way to turn on audio description with either device. It does have an option for closed captioning, which is great, but I wish that the developers would think about other types of people with disabilities. Very disappointing!

Great app and programming. We love the programming and the app, including the ability to download shows to watch on the plane. Occasionally a download gets corrupted and will not play, so I have to remove it and download again when I get to WiFi. And when it plays a movie, the signal strength, time, and battery level show at the top; it would be nice if those would go away and just show black. Otherwise all good.

I love it!. Binge watched one of my new favorite tv shows on this app, I think the only thing that I didn’t like was when I was scrolling through the tv shows (the list of them) and I would click on one to see what it’s about, and then exit back to the list, it would take me right back to the top of the list and then I’d have to scroll back down to where I left off, but really other then that I love it!

Worst streaming app. Absolutely the worst streaming service I’ve ever used. Have had so many issues on desktop and mobile. All I want to do is stream dexter and I’ve had constant issues of it randomly exiting out and freezing up while playing. Literally can’t even finish my episode on the mobile app cause it froze up and every time I try to resume that episode, it just sits there on a black screen. Tried resetting the app and my phone and nothing. Literally can’t finish that episode. I’m on a free trial and will never consider actually subscribing to this awful service ever.

Chromcast. I have tried everything I can think of and I have looked up ways to get it to work. I can not for the life of me get it to connect to my chromecast on any of my devices for the last three weeks now. Very frustrating. The icon does not show up on the screen, but does show up when I turn off WiFi but then I can’t connect to because I’m not connected to WiFi. Help!!

Crashes. App keeps crashing when I try to watch downloaded content. I was able to watch 1 movie all the way through with no issues. But when I tried to rewatch it, I think it kept crashing at the same time intervals. When I first watched the movie, I left when the credits started. When I came back to watch it again, I started over by dragging the bar to the left. I think the time originally remaining on the credits keeps interfering with watching any new content. The same movie or other movies, the problem keeps happening. After several minutes (the time remaining on credits) I’ll lose audio or the video will perpetually buffer.

Never felt so Compelled. I had to write this review because the developers must know that this app can be so much more but simply do not care. Every time this is renewed I get upset that I forgot to cancel my subscription because the app is just a pain to use, and not surprisingly I can’t cancel in the app. It doesn’t mark shows as watched, it’s too much of a pain to fast forward and rewind and the overall all layout of the app is very old school. Shows are great, movie content can be better but overall it’s the poor app experience that compelled me to write this review.

Racist. Everything is gonna be all white is the most racist piece of trash just watching the trailer upsets me being native and the mother of two half white children, way to help divide everyone based on race. I’ve taught my children to love both cultures they are from. I will be canceling my subscription with you guys as I only got it really to watch yellowjackets and dexter. I don’t need to support a company that puts out this trash, shame on showtime for letting this on and shame on everyone that participated in this racist trash. You literally use the show to talk about how terrible white people are and laugh about it, extremely toxic
