First time user of a Nav app. I’m a first time user of navigation app on the water. Wanted to take a trip down to St. Michael’s but was a little unsure of how to get there. Found this app by accident and thought I’d give it a try for $15 bucks. Wow, what a great investment. I’m not a tech person by any stretch of the imagination but it was so easy to follow. The auto routing feature was fantastic. And to be able to see exactly where you are and where you’re going made the trip this past weekend so enjoyable and stress free. Would highly recommend. Great deal and easy to use! Really like the record feature to save it for the future when we do it again. Now I’m eager to go more places on the water I haven’t been to before Thanks, David P

Great Map Detail but hidden search. I really like looking at bathymetric maps and this app includes awesome detail for lake maps across the country. However, the interface feels like it was designed for my original iPad from 2011. It’s hard to find things like search, if you want to find a specific lake, and other tools are hard to access. I use the lite version because I will not use this as a real-time navigation tool, but I imagine for anyone who was doing that, these annoyances would be much more consequential.

Maps does not download: error message. I just got this app and when you tap the map to download- it gives an error message. I would eventually like to purchase if it works- but I will not be willing to risk paying for $20 bucks and it doesn’t work. Update: I contacted support on a weekend and they responded back within hours and gave me instruction on how to download the map. And it works!!!! Now I’m a satisfied customer. Will be trying the app out on the boat this weekend. So far, as I am reviewing it, it looks detailed and very useful. If it is what it set out to be, I will be purchasing this app.

VERY GOOD. I only give 5 stars when something is amazingly good. That said, this app is VERY GOOD. Basically, nothing comes close for the money considering subscription prices to data. For my needs (21’ sailboat on lakes -including the Great Lakes) this pretty much covers it. The coverage of smaller Midwestern lakes is excellent. Customer service is also VERY GOOD. I had a minor issue and it was well taken care of. Look forward to a lot of boating with this app. May update after I have more experience with it.

I like the app but the update feels like extortion. I really do like this app and would have rated it higher if it wasn’t asking me to pay ANOTHER $20 for the update. I bought the app last year for $22 including tax. It’s the most I’ve ever paid for an app. It kind of goes against the grain for me because so many apps I’ve had in the past and relied on have either been bought by another developer or have ceased to exist. So to come back a year later and require I purchase it again just to keep using it is a hard pill to swallow! I can understand the cost of the map update but to stop the functions of my already purchased map to me is truly unfair. Sure I can navigate using existing routes I created but not allowing me to edit or create new routes using my existing map that I already paid for is not right. Seems like extortion to me. For this reason I don’t want to pay for an update.

Skip this app. Disingenuous business model. Turn off your ability to identify your location after a few days. There are better apps available, search them out and skip this app. I received a message from the developer telling me that the free version ends after a few days. No kidding. I got that message when it was turned off during a boat ride. I don’t see anywhere on the app information that you have to upgrade after a few days. When they cut off your location function, the gps is essentially useless. So developer, if you have a problem w my review contact me. I’ll be more than happy to talk to you.

Does not retain data, pay every year. Thought I was making a great purchase but no. I simply need local charts to review if I do some inland saltwater fishing, and like to look a local shore data. Purchased and downloaded maps to my iPhone and appeared to work fine but then keeps saying I need to purchase again, after I already have purchased. App support responded that you have to pay yearly, but when I purchased, a while ago, this was not disclosed. Support says they have no control over that. I just want the data from when I purchased it, without updates is fine, but no. Kept original download on my iPhone without updates for years and did what I needed, until I purchased a new iPhone. Now I have nothing. The app won’t return my original download data on my iPhone and again wants me to purchase again. Buyer beware. This is an annual purchase not one time, even if you download and don’t need updates, they do not give you your original data back after one year.

On and off. I had bought the U.S. and Canada maps, i don’t know if it was for a yearly subscription or something but after a recent update, your app is asking me to buy the maps again otherwise I have to bypass two questions to continue using the app. Every time I do something I have to go through the two requests to upgrade and I shouldn’t have to for paying what the costs of the map are. I used this app hard for a year and for it to be failing now is disappointing. I’ve almost used it enough that I don’t need it anymore for the waters I fish locally.

Perfect for what I needed. Finally got to use this for what I intended it for. Just returned from 4 days fishing in the west coast of Vancouver Island. The loaded charts in my Garmin fishfinder/GPS don’t cover the area. Rather than spend the bucks on the chart package for the GPS that I’ll only use once a year I opted for this app. It worked perfectly and had all the functionality I needed. I used it right off my iPhone and it kept me dialed in and on course. Based on visual surroundings, paper charts, and depth sounder, it seemed to be very accurate.

So far sooo good!. Downloaded the app onto my iPad Pro along with my one free sample chart. It worked great. I’m using it for navigation on my sailboat. I’ve now (paid for) downloaded several charts all of which have worked well. I did run into a problem with a GPS error message (wouldn’t fix my position) while pre-plotting a route. I sent a message to the developer about it and had a response the same day. Turned out to be a system setting and the problem was rectified in short order.

Structure fishing. This app makes it very easy to use structure fishing concepts to identify fishing hotspots in a lake esp if it’s a large reservoir or somewhat unfamiliar. It’s very easy to eyeball most structure including channel swings, humps, feeder creeks, sdddles etc. I was at Emerson recently for a friend’s wedding and had a chance to fish Allatoona for the first time. I used this app to study the lake to scope out where to fish. I was very happy to find that the areas I had identified were visited by two guide boats while we were there. Well worth the upgrade to find unexplored fishing spots. Nov 1 : The app includes man mad fish structures for several lakes. That’s really useful when fishing a new lake that has them. I was surprised today to get an email from their tech support today that they have added contours for the lake I had requested. That’s really really awesome. Thanks for adding some of the lakes I had requested. It’s really appreciated.

Support is non-existent. I purchased the USA maps last year and everything worked fine until I got a new phone. I’ve tried numerous times to activate the app on my new phone but it still shows my license tied to the old phone and won’t let me do anything unless I buy a new license. I have emailed the support email address numerous times to have my license transferred to my new phone but have never received a response. There is no phone number to contact anyone and the website is seriously outdated so it seems like the license process is automated and they are no longer supporting their app. Stay clear unless you want to pay for a new license and start over new every time you get a new device.

Recommended!!. I recommend this app to anyone looking for a primary or a secondary gps chart plotter. Purchased the US version a few years back for kayak and shoreline fishing in the Tampa Bay Area. Although I have been reduced to the free version after being unable to restore my iCloud when changing phones, I finally bought myself a small boat and got to use iBoating to find a wreck today. The gps was spot on with this parted iPhone5. No bottom finder test but we were catching fish as soon as we dropped a bait on the sunken sailboat. I will be soon to make the commitment to get the most out of what iBoating has to offer. If they sent me a shirt and a sticker I would represent this company just like I do for other respectable companies. The team at iBoating have done a great job on this application.

You couldnt ask for any better. This app is really good. The information on bodies of water is amazing. The people are even better. If you have a problem with the app, contact them and they almost literally fix the issue as you are telling them about your problem. I was abit leery about the purchase price at first. After having it for a couple days.... i would have payed double what they charged had i known it would be like this beforehand.

Works and Support team is very helpful. I’ve been using this app for quite some time and it’s always been reliable and very functional for my navigation needs. Over they years I’ve built and honed a number of routes around hazards and navigational issues that makes this a critical part of my boating safety. Recently, after an iOS hardware upgrade, a new phone, I was having difficulty restoring my routes which were saved on an iPad back to my phone. On a Saturday I sent a email to the support team and they answered back almost immediately, worked with me on my issue and within 15 minutes my routes were thankfully restored to my phone. Now that is going above and beyond to make a customer happy. Thanks.

It wouldn’t hurt you to have at least a decent lite version. Unless someone is to buy you extras, this app might as well not exist. You don’t have to waste memory and storage on your phone by downloading an app. You can just Google your home lake or any other lake of choice and the words NAUTICAL MAP to get the same results as this. You could at least make your product have the GPS work on the lite version so you could call it a functioning app but I guess that money over humans play a big roll in some Jews world…..Some people show no appreciation. Well your welcome for World War II.

Feature rich with excellent customer support. I’ve used this app for almost a month now and I am very impressed with the feature set. I have tried almost every charting app available on the store but I keep coming back to it because this one is the easiest to use and has the advanced feature that I am used to. Recently I was trying to figure out how to set up a real time depth alarm using the depth data coming from the transducer to our boats NMEA network. The tech support responded timely with detailed steps and a video regarding it. Thanks for all the timely help.

Lake maps. Decent app to have if you boat on inland lakes for fishing or skiing. Maps have a lot of detail and work well with gps. Edit: I contacted them two weeks back regarding navigation buoys for Clear lake. I was pleasantly surprised to see an email from tech support regarding an update this morning that Clear lake map has been updated with all ATON markers. Upon update I do see all hazard buoys, lighted navigation buoys on the map. I have used the app gps on the lake and it’s very accurate. It’s even more useful with the buoy update.

Decent water gps. I’ve used this app for hundreds of nautical miles. GPS follow is very reliable when it’s hooked with my Bluetooth GPS. Accurately locates me on the chart with a breadcrumb trail and a heading line. Charts are crystal clear and show ATONs, obstructions and depths. I have started using the most recent update with auto routing and it’s incredibly useful. Overall a decent app well worth the upgrade.

Great. Have used this app for years now. Have used it to travel from Texas City Texas to New Bedford Mass. and In Between. I’m a commercial fisherman and I’m all the time traveling, fishing different areas, and it’s my go to app at all times. 99.5% of the time it is dead accurate and I have had to navigate solely using this in dead of night with no other means to see navigational aids or water depths after my electronics were knocked out by a storm. I came in just using the app and a compass, nothing more. Did so accurately and safely. Week later after repairs I retraced the track I had taken based on the app information and it was exact on time, course, and marker position of all aids, and water depth was within 1.0ft average of the area. Very impressed and highly recommend as a backup system or even a primary navigation aid for experienced mariners who need a compact application. I will say not all movable cans will be 100% accurate at all times. That’s why I say it’s 99.5% accurate overall but the recommended channel and route has always been marked accurately or well enough I haven’t been grounded. But, as usual, always use precautions and read addendums regularly in any new area. I can also add that I have been in 4 hurricanes since I’ve had this app and after each hurricane it marked locations of potential hazards such as sunk vessels, logs, debris, navigational hazards, etc. within hours of the storm. Good luck and safe boating.

No Maps Available. I'm not sure what all the 5 star ratings are about. I kept clicking on regions to download freshwater lake maps (Large lakes with ports like Lake Coeur D'ALene, Pend O'rielle and Dworshak Reservoir in Idaho). Nothing comes up...just errors stating there is no data. Don't waste your time on this app. UPDATED: The developer contacted me about how to download the maps, which was helpful. I was clicking too long and holding down the tile too long. So I did a short click in the region where I wanted a map to test out the app. (Lake Coeur D'Alene area). It highlighted that area, but downloaded a map (my one free download of course) for the Columbia River in Washington instead. Nothing in Idaho shows up except for Priest Lake which is not where I go fishing. Something is off on your Idaho mapping system. Not going to try this again...if I can't see the detail of the lake I want before I purchase, I'm not going to buy it.

In depth review of this app. Gives the user friendly great access to nautical information as far as depth , & marked fishing areas where differing species have been caught, but it could be better served with information as far as connecting la land based ma, in order to provide information to those who are also fishing from shore, ... the lack, of put in/take out areas, that could/would also be relevant to last cal eateries, and bait shops/gear-based shops, & amenities such as electrical , fuel, & ice to be obtained is also crucial not only to the fisherman using this app, but also to the local economies that are there to provide these unique services, ...

Good app but some improvements possible. I definitely like this app overall, cool to be able to see depth changes in the lake and pick spots to fish based on that. Only real cons are (1) the navigation is not super accurate when tracking you, and several times when I updated it it jumped all over the map. (2) similarly would be nice to not have to update to see where I am, but instead to have real time updates as I move on the lake. (3) finally, my map does not show any POIs and despite app saying it also recommends fishing spots, it does not do so, at least not for this lake. Overall a good app though and well worth the price.

Confusion. No instructions to fully utilize app. Selected one (1) free area to evaluate product but app keeps returning me to my present location, therefore, I could not use route planning. Do not even know how to buy the area I want. The site replied to my concerns promptly but their reply did not address my needs. The chart details are excellent but can be cluttered. Lastly, maneuvering around led me to get lost. But, perhaps this was due to the fact that the search method did not locate a prominent port for me. I believe it is an outstanding app but needs some refinement.

Great App with lots of features!. By far one of the top marine navigation apps to have. The design layout is very easy to follow. The vector charts have outstanding detail and are very easy to use. Chart folios are very reasonably priced and the grid based interface makes it very easy to download charts and verify what area exists on the device. Make sure to tap on the arrow icon at the bottom. It turns on the moving map functionality. All in all it's a great app which I would definitely use again! 5/5

Life saver!. Not an avid boater, mostly go out on the weekend at my near by inland lake. Decided to go out on Lake Huron. Knowing that the part of the lake we would be on was notorious for random shoals. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars on equipment I came across this app. It’s a really good thing that I did because I am absolutely positive I would have unknowingly ran up on a reef 2 miles off the coast. Thank you for the app. 6 stars if possible

Routing has potential. I was a little hesitant to try out automatic routing when their tech support told me about it. Now that I have tried it I have to admit it’s very useful. It’s able to identify the channel and route around islands and rocks. I was impressed that when I changed the draft, it was able to identify the channel like I would have done it manually. The route changes every time I change the draft. So that seem to be working. Not sure that I would rely entirely on fully automatic. But it’s definitely a good step in the right direction.

Sailing gps. We use this app on our sailboat. Includes detailed charts covering the bay showing all depth, channel and navaids. Charts have the same look and feel as the ones on our plotter but are more recent and have a lot more detail. It’s easy to overlay wind speed and direction on the map. The app is very battery friendly. It looks like it uses GPS only in the follow mode. Route planning and studying the chart does not seem to use any battery. Aug 5 update: We recently updated the nmea 2k instrumentation on our boat. The new one has a Wi-Fi interface. Now we can stream gps and other data to all iPhones connected to our boats network. We are now able to see gps, ais and other data on all our iPhone and iPads.

Effective, cheap, easy!. We boat in multiple locations from Delaware watershed and Pennsylvania lakes, to Hampton's, to Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, occasionally in Northern California... Usable simple maps, obtained as downloads after app purchase.... I have been very pleased by the ease of use, quality of tracking, and ability to download decent quality maps to remote areas as we reach them. My family agrees that excellent bang-for-buck. Having compared to standard nautical charts, is perfectly adequate for routine navigation. Wish List: - that maps could be automatically downloaded based on boater's location - automatic centering of your location... can require re-clicking in screen to re-center your location - advanced information on docking locations and communication channels imbedded in maps... But really happy I can grab my iPhone in a waterproof case and navigate almost anywhere for a couple of bucks!

Fishing points. It’s like having a large compendium of lake depth sonar maps. Most of them have an amazing level of detail. It’s very easy to eyeball where the flats are located, where the underwater islands are, where the ditches are, where the underwater valley runs through. This information is really helpful in figuring out where the fish might be hiding. Whenever fishing a new lake or a lake I am not familiar with, I use it to mark potential fishing spots. The large lakes even have all the brush piles, PVC etc clearly marked. I would suggest overlaying all this info over Apple or Google maps. Apple Maps have more info on restaurants and businesses close to the lake. Edit: I did update the background map to street maps. It’s very useful. Overlay atop satellite imagery also works well. Found quite few useful options under settings. Still playing with the advanced settings. Will update more once I have had a chance to try them out.

Needs fixing!. So after being intrigued by the simple but elegant app logo I was greeted by a prompt to download maps as there were no maps installed and after tapping yes I thought everything was fine. I spent about 1 minute trying to figure out the apps features when the app just crashed and I was sent back to the home screen. As I thought it was because the app couldn't handle me navigating through the map too quickly I tapped on the icon again and was greeted by the same prompt (would you like to download any maps) and after tapping yes I tried to figure out more about the app for the second time. But again the app cashed about 1.30 minutes after the prompt . This happened repeatedly till I lost all hoe in using the app. Definitely a thing which the developers ave to fix. By the way I am on an IPad 4.

Lake depth maps. Very user friendly app to download lake depth maps and coastal charts. GPS features including recording and moving map works very well and is very reliable. The support is very helpful and answered all the questions I had. I had asked them about a specific lake that was missing. To my pleasant surprise they contacted me today to let me know that they had added depth contours for it and it was a available for download. Update1: I’ve used it quite often in sf a yas well as Sac delta. For navigating the Sac delta I wasn’t able to identify the deep channel. The support was very helpful and suggested me to change the shallow and safety depths. Once I did that I was able to identify the deep channel. I plan to use it in Shasta next week. I am glad they cover it. Will update the review with more details next week.

Excellent. I’ve been using this app for a few weeks in shore/near shore. I have a separate depth/fish finder, but I wanted a nav tool. This app has FULLY exceeded & surpassed my expectations. A small in app purchase covers way more map than I’ll ever need. And I can download large “tiles” (as the app easily directs me) so I can have the navigation map when I don’t have cell service. The channel markings and general data are spot on. I highly recommend this app for anyone.

Many bodies of water not even on the map, much less charted. I would give this application a grade of C- for the shortcoming mentioned in the title. Searching is not intuitive, some lakes have no charts and - could it be coincidence? - don’t even show on the surface map of Washington State. Quite disappointed. Update: my issue was addressed by an app developer, and previously ‘invisible’ inland lakes can now be located. My rating goes up a two notches to a C+. Some large, navigable bodies of water remain uncharted, while in other cases, truly tiny glacial lakes are. A tutorial video or two on how to interpret map features would also be helpful. Contour lines are straightforward. But search though I may, I remain in the dark about the meaning of the magenta lines in the charts. The Object Query function identifies them as S. Not helpful.

False Advertising. Downloaded this app a year or 2 ago and purchased all of USA and Canada so I had all the maps. Now it says I don’t have the maps anymore and I need to buy them again. It says “strict offline mode” and I only have access to the maps i previously downloaded, which were just a handful in certain areas. Now that I want to see other areas, if I want to download those maps I have pay the full price again. Even though I already paid for all the maps once before. Definitely will not be giving this app any more money. After reading many similar reviews, it appears you have to pay yearly which is not disclosed upfront.

Easy boat navigation. I have been trying lots of apps to make boat navigation easier. This app meets a lot of my criteria. It’s very easy to set up for offline use. For just planning no set up is needed. Over the years I have accumulated tens of gpx files with 1000s of waypoints. I am glad that I was able to import all those files into the app. And the best part is that I didn’t have to create an account or jump through the hoops for that. I have these files as email attachments and the app was able to import them from there. Have been playing with automatic routing and it seems to work ok. Again I was able to select waypoints from existing files for routing. Still haven’t tried out the gps features. But from what I can tell it supports moving map and route follow. Will update once more I have tried out the gps. Update: I have tried out the GPS now. The phone gps is very precise and located me accurately. It clearly shows the path I’ve taken with a magenta line and a dotted line showing where I am headed. Also gave voice alerts when approaching a waypoint. Overall satisfied with GPS.

Offline charting and lake maps. This is a very good app if you are looking for nautical charts to work fully offline. Worked very well this season in the Keys for us. It’s very easy to download all charts using the grid and see if it’s downloaded or not. GPS works very without internet or cellular signal . Clearly shows where we are and where our boat is headed. As a plus it includes complimentary access to all lake charts with HD contours. That was a good deal for us since we often go fishing inland waters. Thanks for adding Wilamette river charts south of the Ash island. I have always wanted to explore that part of the river. Now I can do it more confidently.

Professional Level Navigation App. I have been using this app for nearly three years now for professional work on yachts and it has yet to fail me. As with all navigation, I strongly advise users have two different and independent devices running this same app. I, for example, use an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 7, and for positioning information I use a Garmin GLO and a Bad Elf 2200 GPS signal receiver. The Garmin GLO has temporarily shut down in the past, so it is essential to have the other device running especially when operating in hazardous areas like busy channels, near shoals or barely submerged hazards such as wrecks or isolated rocks. The main improvement I would recommend to Bist LLC at this time would be to offer an in-app purchase cruising guide feature that would enable the user to access critical information about facilities (such as good phone numbers, radio channels etc) by virtue of simply touching the facility name on the current ECS. In the event of emergencies, be they weather or mechanical etc, it would be extremely useful to be able to immediately find the phone number or radio contact information for potential landing sites like marinas.

Almost. This is almost what a boater needs. It still has way too much distracting information. For example, where there are rocky areas, rather than a simple marking, there is a red star with “rocky areas” next to it. That just clutters the whole map. Likewise with very subtle depth differences: there is an endless number of lines on the map. Much more useful would be much less information, but focused on the important question: where can one navigate and where can’t one navigate. A simple green/red overlay, maybe keyed to a depth setting, is everything—and no more—than is needed.

Why buy a Raymarine?. For $20, works just like the pro chart because it is pro. Love it, but wish loyal users could get a break on updated chart purchases because you have to pony up another $20 to get a updated chart after less than 2 seasons of use. Maybe give a option to turn off annoying update prompt after 2-3 uses with old chart? Hopefully you can address these issues by next chart update. Thanks!

Marine and lake GPS. I’ve used this marine charting program a few times on both the coast as well as inland lakes. It’s one of the few apps on my phone that includes excellent ENC charts for both offshore and inland navigation. Works very well with phones GPS even when outside of cellular coverage. Clearly shows where my boat is, how it got there and where it’s headed. I used to have this app as a backup to our onboard plotter. But I keep coming back to it since maps are more detailed and I am able to pull all the data from our boats NMEA network onto the app. Will post more updates as I investigate it’s more advanced toolset. Update: after 100s of miles and an year I find this app pretty reliable and useful. It keeps getting regular updates. Tide and currents plus wind overlay have been very useful. One thing I would recommend adding is support for auto routing. Aug21: Got an email from their tech support today to try out automatic routing in the application. Have been playing with it and it seems to work okay. I had to adjust the min depth to get the route I wanted. Definitely a good route planning aid. Edit: The latest update is very useful if you cruise the Tombigbee waterway. More detailed depths and more accurate. Tried hooking up this app today with our boats Ais transceiver over Wi-Fi. It worked well and showed all AIS targets around us.

Very costly upgrades. Great operation and user interface. But I had to stop using it and go to another navigation app, because it started requiring me to purchase new charts every time I updated the app. It didn’t do that when I first started using the app. Now, that makes updating the software a costly mistake. Perhaps there is some way around this, but quite a bit of searching didn’t find anything. I requested a refund the last time because no reason to require repeated pay for the same chart—ok, I got the refund but no clue as to how to avoid repeating chart charges going forward.

Very disappointed. I thought this seemed like perfect app for me since I take my boat all over to many lakes in my home state and other states, some far away. So I paid for the upgrade to get all US LAKES. And that was last week. Then this weekend we decided to go boating on the chain of lakes. So imagine my surprise when the app doesn’t even know the lakes exist. I thought ok I’m sure it will work once we get to a larger lake on the chain. Nope. Shows the boat on dry land. So I’m not happy. Wasted $20 for maps that don’t even know that some of the lakes I want to go on exist. I know that there are GPS units that have inland lake maps for pretty much every boatable lake but this app with US lakes is not it. Sorry for rating. I wanted this to be GREAT and thought it would be.

Accuracy Paid Dividends. My trip from Kaneohe Bay to Molokai brought me into a new harbor (to me) in the dark at 2100. Using the app to guide us to the Lono Harbor we found it incredibly accurate as we shined our spotlight on the lineup markers and just close enough to the large rocks to feel some real joy at dropping anchor safety. I immediately asked my navigator what app he was using and purchased it the next morning!! Saved my boat and gave me a very good night’s sleep! Highly recommended!

Underwater maps. Came across this app when I was researching boating apps that include charts for inland lakes and waterways. It’s one of the most comprehensive amongst all apps I have tried so far. Depth maps for rivers and lakes are included in the price. GPS integration works well even without cellular internet. Accurately shows the boat location and path. Auto routing finds a decent route. Will update more next week. The latest update works great on our boat. Shows real-time wind speed and direction right on the iPad. The recent update on fishing spots AI is very useful. Makes it easy to identify which parts of the underwater structure would be more productive for fishing.

Best boat navigational app available for your basic user. I use this app very often for navigating my boat in different lakes and waterways it works perfectly and gives you all the information you may possibly need very happy with the fact that you can get tide charts you can get weather and you can get wonderful navigational aids to help you so you don't end up on the rocks. I give this app a rating of five stars

Not bad. All of the Bathymetric maps are good. The interesting part is the space around the Maps; unless I am missing it there is no base layer map of the land associated with it, which make searching a bit tougher but doable. Also I’m left to wonder how many bodies of water have been mapped, and if so are all of those on here. I live in an area that has quite a few lakes around it but it seems like there’s some that are missing, although I don’t know if it is an issue from these ever been mapped. i’ve only use this product so I can’t compare it against others.

They are fast to respond. We bought the app to use in Alaska, it is great in the salt water , but was missing some lakes we wanted on the charts, so we sent them an Email, they respond in less than 24 hours and are adding the requested lakes. I love the features and everything you need to have fun boating while still having all information is at your finger tips. I could only give it five stars, or I would have given it a 10.

Boat Safety Officer, Mohave County Sheriffs Office. All of us here have tried several different applications for the purpose of navigating our lake and river, but especially for night operations as with the surrounding mountains on certain nights no Horizon is available and so you have to operate by braille at times as it is just so dark. I have been experimenting with your app now for about three weeks and I must say that it is the most user-friendly most accurate and provides the most abundant resources for this purpose. We are based on an Lake Havasu City an Arizona on the Colorado river and I think we have just under 50 miles of shoreline in our lake. The detail we find with your maps and depth information is remarkably accurate. Thank you very much for the zoning such a great asset

Unadulterated crap. I purchased and downloaded what I needed to use in Laconia, NH area. However, when I try to use it, it says that I need to update it or it will only show previously downloaded charts. But, it does not show previous charts. It only wants to sell to me again. Also, back when it did work, if I wanted to work on a planned excursion area from home, it would randomly force me back to the area of my house which is nowhere near Lake Winnipesaukee and loose all of the lake data that I was working on. Be warned, this company is all about navigation to your wallet and less about navigating a boat. Less you be confused, I am a seasoned USCG master mariner and an expert navigator on commercial vessels. It doesn’t matter how many time I complain about this software, they just send a canned answer about their Utube videos and NOTHING about it not showing the charts that I purchased. But, that doesn’t surprise me. Just more evidence of their crap customer service.

Following my boat on the map. It would be advantageous as we are going along following the the gps map that the approximate depth was showed magnified Thank you

Ok. Sorted out my earlier issues, app is fine.

Poor app. Paid $54.99 for this App and it has failed to download. Contacted the vendor but no response. Wanted the App for Christmas boating. Very very disappointed!!

H28 Sailor. Great marine navigation app. GPS features are very easy to use. I especially like their take on autofollow. It shows instant heading as an arrow. This is very useful when approaching harbours. Maps are interactive. You can touch any symbol on the maps and find out what it is.

Fault. Depth colours aren’t what I am used to. Would be good to be able to customise them. Gps location is out a lot. Also when I purchased the app I thought that was a once off. Now I am strictly offline and need to upgrade which is purchasing the app again

Great. Great app...only have the free version but will buy full version...worth the download

Re purchase maps after buy pro version. I wasnt aware maps run out or expire, so i have pro installed and purchased but unusable..paying again ? I think not

Destination Rabbit island. New destinations always come with new challenges. Sailing to rabbit island. Wilson’s prom is none the different as a first time we had no navigation issues complements to i-Boating. We did however beach the boat complements to our inability to judge the tides. Love i-Boating, great tool

Useless. Just downloaded my local port and only shows about 5mile out to sea. May be better if your willing to pay for the full version. Was hoping it would be a good back up to my gps...

Easy as. Great for beginners not to complicated this is my second download and it is even better than the first.

Beware. I downloaded the App and purchased maps When I tried to use the App on my other device- I had to pay agin. App doesn’t recognise yiu and therefore has any way of knowing its you. So every device yiu use it in yiu have ti keep paying And don’t waste your time emailing them, because the email address they give you for help is switched off!!!

Not much to say. I use it to measure distance from shore to meter depths. Its only the free version so its practical for very basic operations but i believe if you are to but the in-app equipment it could be very helpfull.

Works well, but expires. Expensive. When I bought it I assumed the charts wouldn’t expire, but in fact after a year my purchase is no longer valid and the app stops working. It’s a shame the developers are so greedy when this otherwise is a well working app with good charts.

Fishing. Easy to use thanks

GPS on iPad mini. Hi, I’m thinking that I can’t use this app on my iPad mini. I downloaded maps but when I go off the coast the track won’t go off the land. Can I down load it to another device and use the maps , I don’t want to pay again. Does it work on an iPad mini..? Thanks

Not good. Was good at first but I had to pay to get all the maps an to get the full version now it won’t even open

Comprehensive. I like the level of detail and the way it is presented. Otherwise does just the same as every other nav app.

Incredible value. Full fledged chartplotter with offical ENC charts. Amazing.

Commercial quality. This is an amazing app... I’m a commercial boat driver, and I use it as a back up if I ever need it... it’s as good as the gps on our commercial boat.

Worth every cent. This app is must for any serious fishermen. Easy to use, excellent tech support. You won't be disappointed.

Easy to use electronic charts. Best I know off.

Another $55 to update.. Sick to death of ridiculously expensive subscriptions. You’re deleted.

Love this Apps so much! Perfect!. Awesome app. Maps are more detailed and accurate than the ones we have on our plotter. Plotting routes and recording tracks is very use. The compass divider tool is very handy.

Love it. I love mapping apps. Great app to study under water topography.

So far so good.. Can’t complain so far, will update after some further use.

Not great. Could be really good but asks you to rate the app every 10 seconds while trying to navigate . So here it is . Enjoy.

Leigh. This is one app that includes charts of Lake Macquarie Australia

Review-. Not a bad app. Could do with additional items such as piers, berths and marine fuel docks

Nav tool. If you own or work in a boat, its a handy tool to have on your phone.

Higher level of detail than other apps.. The app has a higher level of detail particularly in remote areas. Great app- Don

Tight spots. I found this app to be quite accurate, where I park I have to go between some reefs without much room and not enough water even at high tide to go over the top of them. That makes it harder as the reef is hidden at the top of the tide. I zoom in the chart and go in and park with no problems. Worth its weight in gold. Well that my 2 cents worth Cheers and free winds

Difficult to use. Not a patch on the old app , hard to use and not enough place names on shore as a reference point

Fantastic!. Having previously used paper based maps and charts, I cannot believe I was missing out on this app! Very useful, and I highly recommend!

A great fishing friend!. Found this app when I was looking for a fish finder application. I recently moved down the coast from Sydney to Melbourne and was looking for a great fishing spot. I found a place called Mud Island in the middle of Port Phillip Bay and this app was of great help when navigating through the obstacle course that is the Bay (forts, shallows, reefs, rocks, buoys, tides and currents). Think Google Maps for the water. Highly recommended!

Great app. Thanks

Seems good - trial glitchy. App looks like it has all the necessary functions. Map seems to have loaded incorrectly - with lots of black patches and areas without detail. I didn't get to test it out properly before the trial period finished. If I want to use it on iPhone and also on windows tablet (external gps), I'm not sure if I need to buy it twice??

overpriced. app works ok but overpriced, they removed the gps fonction..

decent app but obsolescence is frustrating. This app reminds me of old Star Trek. It works decently. But what drives me to tears is being out in the wilderness and the app is telling me to update. cannot use the Maps at all. Gives me option to dismiss or purchase update. Click dismiss and the menu starts over. Fine and dandy… I guess… But not when you’re out of cell service, and in the middle of a fishing day. For god sake, build functionality into your app so you can at least use what you purchased when most needed. I’ll be thinking of other options before pulling the trigger on the update.

Mediocre at best. Not a particularly good app. Compared to the aviation apps that I use, this marine app seems quite amateurish. For what you get, it is way overpriced. The developer’s response was that this “is not an aviation app”. Duh!! It’s a navigation app, which is what the aviation apps are. For a navigation app, still amateurish. The maps are not seamless. I can’t see a way to insert speed. The whole thing is quite cumbersome. Lacks anything off waterway map so you can’t give help to someone driving to meet you. No ability to overlay street maps or satellite images. Just a minimal product.

GPS. I really like this app,…its really easy to use with lots of detail. My only suggestion is to make it usable without Wi-Fi on my iPad using my Bluetooth Garmin GLO 2 GPS. Cheers.

Works great!. It’s been updated since the last time I purchased it. A must have for boaters. A+

Won’t money give u first bit for free then try to tempt you with a new version for cash crooks. Rip off

Restricted to a single device…. Just starting to use the app, and enjoying it so far. However, it is frustrating that the paid version is limited to only one device - you apparently cannot view the paid maps on your iPad if you’ve already registered the iPhone.

Excellent service after having problem. A développer answer and solve our location problem

Fun. Great

Worth the money. This app along a depth finder is all you need for safe boating / finding fishing spots. I recommend this 100%

Coordinates. North and south were good but east west was off a fair ways. I am hoping it was just the weather. Will see next time I take it out

Thanks. Course plotter sucks

Beware. Upgraded phone and won’t load/update previously purchased maps. At 40$ to buy maps I got last years is that unacceptable.

Good app.. Seems good so far.

Very good gps for navigation. I used it to go to 1000 islands and it was very easy and comfortable to use.

Shipwreck. Not sure if my and my friends experience is indicative of everyone’s, I hope not. He took the full version, but if you were seriously relying on it, you would be on the rocks, sunk and in the air ambulance, before the GPS would track your location.

In app purchases expire. Buy charts in the app and they expire rendering the app useless unless you continue LT upgrade at $34.99 a pop. Slimy business practices.

Inadequate app for Newfoundland waters. Abysmal lack of data, and maps on the island of Newfoundland. Poor, disappointing purchase

Constant nagging. The app is great but the constant nagging to update the maps that I already purchased is terrible. Every time you start the app or turn “follow me” on or off it “warns” you. I paid for the maps and they don’t need updating. Leave me alone.

Excellent. I’ve tried a lot of different naval apps and this is by far the best so far. Well worth the money👍👍

Review. Awesome app!

Maps. I bought tha can usa map now I can’t access it what’s happening here

All my waypoints disappeared. Seriously, that’s a deal breaker.

Inaccurate. The majority of lakes on here are dead wrong when it ones to depths. Pretty much useless other then the countries are semi accurate

Don’t need a stand alone- use your i/phone!. If for $40 you can get a gps why bother with a $700 stamd alone unit. Works for what you need to safely get scross the lake to your buddies camp.

Needed an app for last min ocean venture. This app saved me, especially with the offline map(s) from getting lost in some fairly large water ways, needed something last minute that worked offline as we had 0 signal where we were going. We pre routed off this app using it’s offline mapping, and it got us to everywhere we needed to go to safely, without needing cell signal.

I’m impressed. Very friendly UI, very detailed charts

Just purchased. Not that easy to use would like my money back

Pay every year. I don’t like paying every year for charts I already purchased. No thanks !

I like it. It is working

Best navigation app. This is my go-to navigation app. I have about 5 on my phone including my Garmin one. This is literally the best app by far - you can plan, save and review routes. I’ve found that the depth measurements are very accurate too when I compare them to my depth sounder readings.

Communicabilité. Ajouter un accès profil pour favoriser une meilleure connexion entre appareil IOS et entre IOS et PC.

So far so good. Enjoying the features and still learning

Need to buy the map every year !?!?. Keeps asking me to purchase the same map I already purchased last year for 40$

Helpful fishing!!. We use this when ice fishing. Great help!

Great until. I love the app but it try’s to get you to pay for stuff as soon as you open it didn’t at first but now it is other then that would definitely recommend to any fisherman or boater

Not restoring purchases. Good app but Bought Canada and USA last year and they’re not letting me restore. I’ve emailed twice. Two weeks and no response.

It’s a good app but having to pay every year. It does work, no questions there. I bought my area twice now. First time thought I changed phones and was ok with buying again but this will be the third time. Once I pay I do not expect to have to pay again each year.

Great. In detail mapping. I could never find in depth mapping of my local lakes (looking for ice fishing spots). This app was perfect, and I found some great looking spots. Hope they produce!

App. Great app! Thanks for the free usage.

Toujour payer. Faut Toujour payer 40$ par année ça revien trop cher

Maps. Très intéressant et outils

This is a subscription in hiding.. You think you are buying the maps but you are not. You are getting the use of the maps with updates for one year then as soon as any one map has the slightest change they will hound you with multiple warnings to update at the same cost as a new purchase. Saved my maps offline thought I had them, that they were mine but no. Maps that had changes came back as scanned in paper charts. When I tried to restore my purchase they disappeared completely. The app store should remove this app for its false advertising. As long as you understand that they will hound you to make yearly payments it works ok. But there better apps out there.

Unable to restore. I purchased previous Canada maps but upgraded my phone and now it won’t restore or update and won’t work without a update. Really not impressed

Better than the others for my area.. Much better than Lakemaster chip that I have in my helix, and better than Navionics app I had on my phone for my area (central Ontario).

We love this more that my Navionics chip!. We rather use this on the phone rather than the Navionics on my helix 5 chirp !!! Easier to see the important things like rocks and such. Easy to find anchor points also. It’s a breeze to use!

Missing many small and medium sized lakes in Central and northern Saskatchewan. A number of lakes in my area are not available on the app, myself and some of my colleagues would like to see more areas included on the app.

Excellent app. I bought the app last year and now it saying I got to buy it again for almost $40. That’s why I only rated it two stars and I emailed them about it and never ever replied.

Good app. This apps great for finding depths of local lakes does most larger lakes but I’ve noticed it doesn’t do every little pond around! Wish it did a few more trout ponds!

Great App !!. One of the best !!

Great app. We planned a boating trip for the first time in a while and I searched for a navigation app to use on our journey. The free version of this app provided all the data I needed to guide us through the day trip. I will definitely purchase the US charts information before the next trip.

Needs some things. As a inland guy training for my masters I found the app to be cool. I run the ditch from Baton Rouge to Houston, so looking at this while I’m at home is a help to study on on my course. What would make for some improvement would be a way to pin notes. There’s a lot of bends and twist and things to remember about what bends you can hold the point and ones you need to keep wide, and radio check ins. It would be nice to be able to put notes so I can reference back at that location for learning.

Includes lake contour maps. This app includes both HD lake contour maps and coastal navigation charts. Maps are all vector and respond very well to touch. Moving map gps auto follow is a toggle button. The best part is that it shows the path one has taken with a dark line and where you are headed with dotted line. Easy to share your tracks and routes with others as gpx files.

The app I was looking for. I wanted an app that I could reference for basic inshore boating navigation stuff from my boat but also at home. For serious off shore fishing use a good chart plotter but if you have a 19 foot boat like me and just need to reference things from time to time this is perfect.

Excellent App. I sail around the cost of South Africa and have found this to be an excellent app to back up my navigation - my iPad and this app have become my chart plotter at a very affordable price. The only issue I had was when I upgraded and renewed my subscription the information wasn’t to clear on how todo that but now that it is installed and running I am very happy and can confidently recommend this app to others.

Sea doo michigan. App is hard to use on sea doo. Jumps for function to function. Every time you touch the screen, goes to upgrade or update screens repeatedly. Payed a lot for the app, not user friendly. Kind a like a fishing app got good money on original purchase, and keeps fishing for more money!!!

Marine nav backup. This is a great chart plotter backup or a primary app if you happen to be on a boat with no electronics. Charts are updated frequently and I have found them to be accurate. Autorouting and tide prediction are spot on. Definitely an app worth having if you have a boat. Thanks for updating Norman. The new auto routes are much improved.

Trouble loading map. I purchased US and Canada, I can’t get a portion of Canada to load. I sent an email concerning this issue and have heard anything. I deleted the app and reinstalled, now it works. It was probably my fault, I’m not always an expert at this sort of stuff, LoL

Awesome App. This is one of the best apps I ever used. It performed perfectly and was great having the depth map ,tracking recorder , and the position and track markers. Used it everyday while out in our boat and found our way back each time perfectly. Helped us avoid rocks on unfamiliar lake! Thanks for a great app!!

Easy to use marine navigation app. The app lets you download offline ENC charts and uses the iPhones GPS to turn the phone into a chart plotter. Includes moving map boat display with track recording and tons of advanced plotter options under settings. Definitely an app worth trying.

This app will not disappoint.. I’ve had and used this app for over two years. When I upgraded phones, tech support was quick, helpful, and provided clear instructions to transfer info easily. Definitely recommend this app!

Great App. This app turns your iPhone into a full fledged plotter. Works very well with both built in GPS and external ones. Connected seamlessley with our NMEA router and pulls in AIS and other instruments data. Make sure to tap on the navigate icon when in the waters. Its turns on GPS autofollow and accurately shows where the boat is headed and where it has been.

Great South Bay-Montauk. Used exclusively on an IPad with GPS capabilities, 22ft center console . Our area, sandbars change annually -rely on local knowledge, otherwise markers accurate. Tracks well while underway with anticipated tracking, indicating direction . Saving and creating route not as intuitive as it could be, could be easier , otherwise would give it 5 stars

Buy buy. The app itself works well. After purchasing it was extremely difficult to load the map. And now I am required to buy the same map again, apparently, but never received a receipt saying that I only purchased a map subscription for a specifically limited time. The app is helpful, the loading and clarity of what is being purchased is terrible.

No fancy high dollar marine GPS needed with this app.. Downloaded the light version initially and decided to purchase the full version, well worth the 25 bucks! I have used this app from inland lakes to the inter coastal and ocean on my boat and it works great! I like that it has a tracking feature and a route creater that give you waypoint bearings and ranges.

Very functional but not intuitive. Once I figured it out, it was the best $20 I ever spent. I still haven't figured out how (or if it's even possible) to chart a course starting at an address on land. What I did was plot a course from one distinct landmark to another and it worked well even when I lost cell service.

Awesome!. We do long range cruising and absolutely love this app. Found it to be great reference and in several situations, offered more info on approaches then our time zero and furuno systems. Not a replacement for the bigger more expensive systems but a must have system for us! Also love it when on the dingy cruising around remote anchorages!! ⭐️

Good app. This is a good app to have when sailing. ENC Charts are accurate and reside on the phone. GPS moving map works very well even there is no internet accurately showing where the boat is and where it is headed. The US charts include both coasts and inland lakes. Definitely a good app to have whether you fish in salt water or fresh waters. We had an issue figuring out checking depth unit and it was promptly resolved by customer support.

In app selling. I don’t really like that I made a purchase of your app, my only app purchase ever, and now I have to push cancel and buttons twice to get tot he screen I need. I paid the money you requested the first time. It said life time use, or what not, why should I have to cancel through screens??? That’s juvenile.

Outstanding Resource, Excellent Support. I downloaded this app ahead of my first trip to a lake a day’s drive away and it was fantastically useful. When I couldn’t find a chart for another lake in the library I wrote to the developer and not only did I receive a prompt acknowledgment the chart became available shortly thereafter. If only all apps were this useful and well supported.

App good I think.. I paid for it but the app did not load everything. Tried to go back and login and now it wants me to pay again. Not unhappy with the app just wish someone would help me get it all?

Extremely bad “customer service”. Contacted developer about a problem using the app on two devices, but was treated by a very rude, coarse person, instead of helping me, I was called a “petty internet thug”. Now, where -I- come from, that’s pretty lousy customer service, and of no help whatsoever with my issue. Uninstalling app, notifying Apple, and Google, and requesting a refund. It may be a great app, but I never got a chance to truly find out, and after being called childish names, won’t stick around. It’s amazing that people still treat customers like this and stay in business.

No support, can’t restore purchases from the App Store. Don’t buy.. The product is ok and would have gotten more stars from me - until I needed tech support. I needed to restore my purchases from the App Store and the “restore” button in the app does nothing. Three e-mails later to the only point of contact available from the developer’s website and - nothing. Not even an auto-generated reply. The restore purchases function simply doesn’t work - so unless you are the perfect iHuman and never need to restore a purchase, stay away from this app!!!

So glad to find this app. Last weekend I went fishing using this map. I am impressed with the overall quality. Easy to download marine charts using the grid interface. Vector maps with excellent GPS features. It was very easy to change depth from feet to metres and overlay charts on satellite imagery. Adding waypoints and routes from existing GPX files was a breeze. Looking forward to using it. Thanks!

Affordable Marine Navigation!. I wanted a Real time nav System for our pontoon. Something that had accurate charts and real time GPS following. Since I didn’t have a depth finder at the time, good charts were a must. This App has it. It’s so good that I was able to use and trust it for some late-night navigation after last year’s Forth of July fireworks. $20 is a great price for US fishing and live chart following.....buy this app!

No data for Erie Canal. After previewing the free area of the charts this app looked promising. I purchased the Canada and USA chart package and went to check out the area around my dock on the Erie Canal. The canal was a blue blob with no details and ends unexpectedly. I contacted the company. They were actually very responsive till they realized that they simply didn’t chart that area. A refund of my $25 could have resolved this amicably. But they stopped responding. The missing chart does not bother me but the lack of making amends does. I now use Navionics app which is fantastic.

Enhancements to consider. It would be nice to have more robust depth shading. When I am on a given lake my boat location is on land instead of lake. This margin of error makes this app nearly useless for me. Positive features are the different fish habitat is displayed and Turning on AI adds additional locations to fish which is a big plus.

It won’t take my money!!!. I tried the “lite” version and really liked it. I didn’t realize that it basically shuts down after a few days so wanted to “buy” the full version. However, numerous times I tried to buy it and went through the purchase process only to not have anything happen...so many times that I am about ready to try another app for northeast Georgia

I used to love it but my purchase “disappeared”. I bought the US upgrade last year and LOVED using the chart of the lake we live on. It made me feel safe. The bad news? I bought a new phone and when I installed it to the new phone- my purchased upgrade didn’t appear and the restore button doesn’t do anything. So if I want to use it, I need to pay another $20. I feel ripped off. I’ve tried contacting but it’s next to impossible. I’m really upset and frustrated. It WAS a great app until it stopped working.

Data does not load correctly. Bought a new iPad to down load this software but instead of getting everything I paid for it has fallen short!!! Has anyone else had this issues? There are no settings to change depth from ft to metric or visa versa, all I have is one third of my screen blank and the map taking up the rest of the screen. No instructions and no GPS coordinates..........frustrated.......wish I hadn’t bought this app feel ripped off....

Just as I want it!. The best application of its kind become even better. This app includes ENC charts and lake maps for offline use. The download grid makes it very easy to see what's downloaded and what's not. GPS works very well on the phone clearly showing the path traversed and where the boat is headed. Plenty of advanced chart plotter settings that I am yet to explore.

Very useful!. I’ve only used this app a few times, but it’s been a great tool. I like being able to record my outings and it’s great when boating in unfamiliar places as it has helped me to get an overview of the depth changes in the area and to not get lost. Highly recommend.

Great app and charts. We sail mostly on the mighty Columbia River in the NWUS. I’ve made a couple of extended cruises relying on this app on the iPad in the cabin, and in the cockpit on the iPhone. It’s awesome to have a high quality, zoomable, lighted chart in your pocket at all times- especially when making landfall in a new place. We’re using it on a San Juan Islands cruise coming up, supplementing paper charts.

No Wisconsin lakes. When I was on Lake Superior this app was very useful!! I Was very happy with it. Good detail for such a massive body of water. I Just downloaded Wisconsin and I am sad to say that I am extremely, extremely unhappy. More lakes and flowages missing then it shows.. I strongly feel like I wasted $20. And if I could get my $20 back that would be nice. On a positive note I will definitely continue using this app while fishing on Lake Superior!!

Can’t access maps when changing phones. I’m phone broke recently and After I replaced the phone I uploaded my data from iCloud I opened the app and added my email but couldn’t find a place to sign in I reached out to customer support several times with no response so unless you want to pay for the same maps every few years look for another app besides that the app is ok it seems out of date and takes time to figure out the app just is not laid out in a way that is easy to use

Huge Help!. Great features! I've been using i-Boating for a long time now and have never been disappointed. The detail and functions are amazing, especially for a free app, and just gets even better with purchases! Compass feature is a huge help!

Makes boating and fishing so much easier. Great app. When I first bought my near shore boat I was prone to finding rocks and sand bars in unexpected places. The unknown was taking a lot of the fun out of sight seeing trips and relocating a good fishing spot. This app soled the problem. The depth maps are great and being able to mark my spot where the fishing is good makes catching much easier.

Very helpful & useful. This app seems to be the only app I’ve found to be useful and work to my liking. It includes everything you would want and expect in a chart-plotter. The charts are all vector and they have so many apps you can download, covering your cruising area using the grid . As with my Phone gps, the moving map works well and accurate . I would definitely recommend this app !

Extremely useful. I use this app to measure distance between waypoints, plan routes, check depth of water, and save GPS points as a backup source when out on the water. The app works great! Very simple and easy to use.

Kerr Lake,NC. Just what I was looking for. Kerr Lake has over 780 miles of shore line, with many many coves. Finding the same spot is not always easy. I’m very impressed with the quality of this app. Having years of experience with deep blue water sailing using much more expensive GPS systems, was really surprised with this app.

Love the charts and direct gps interface.. Trying desperately to get the lite version upgraded so I can use it for GPS navigation on my iPhone. Repeated attempts through Apple apps store at $25 for USA and Canada charts with GPS feature installed. Cannot get the GPS feature downloaded. I do get the charts, but don’t know where boat is on the chart. Leaves me no help or alternative but to discard and try another product.

USER INTERFACE. Appears to have functionality, but it’s not user friendly and I have not see a tutorial, only Q&A to sell the product I just bought. HOWEVER, I do like the maps, and that why I bought the database. At this point if I figure out the functions, I’ll treat it like a bonus!

Pathfinder and Boysen reservoir. Used these maps to fish walleye tournaments at Boysen and Pathfinder Reservoirs in Wyoming. In some areas of the lake the maps were relatively accurate but in others they were dangerously inaccurate. This was my first time on both of these reservoirs. Luckily I was paying attention and did not have accidents but more accurate maps would be really nice. I will also say on a positive note that this is the only app I found that had mapping for either reservoir.

Up close. This app saved my life last week about 1:2 miles from the Andrea Doris wreck... the Nantucket Fog bank suddenly captured us.... so foggy I couldn’t see even my Garmin... felt much more comfortable with this app... right at my nose..and also the mileage feature was very helpful in a terrifyingly helpless situation.

Waste of time. This is a great app if you’re in for a challenge. I’m giving it one star because I don’t think I can give it any less. I spent an hour at shorten my trip out, and then the app turned off and reset and erased all my information. I have yet to have a track my location, every time I turn on location it tells me there’s an error. If you have lots of money and don’t know what to do with it this could be a very good source. I have found that every feature I’d like to use on this app prompts you to spend more money.

The google map For boats. We boat primarily in the bay and sometimes inland lakes. For us it’s very convenient the app includes seamless maps for coast and most major lakes. Has depth contours and most aids to navigation , obstruction etc. are marked. GPS follow and wind overlay is easy to turn on. Overall well worth the upgrade if you own a boat.

Using as a pre-cruising planner.. I like this tool, the only thing I would change so far, I would like the ability to insert waypoints into the route as necessary. This way, I would be able to plan the beginning point and end point, then insert places of interest along the way.

Love the detail, but our map is completely off on depth.. I purchased this map to navigate a specific lake. We are also using a depth finder. Unbelievable how off this map is. It is showing a depth of 1’ across the entire width of the lake, making me think it was impassible. However, using the depth finder it is actually 19’ and totally passable. Now I’m afraid to trust the app at all.

Way off. Downloaded my 2 home lakes on this app to use while on the water instead of a paper map. I will stick to the paper map. I don’t know where their information comes from but it’s terrible. They have land where there should not be and nothing where land should be and boat ramps in the middle of the lake. Shoreline contouring is also off. If you use this app to navigate with BE CAREFUL. I will be deleting it

Ok but not great. I have it loaded on my phone and at one time it was on my iPad. I was able to restore purchases on my phone but it won’t allow me to restore purchases on my iPad anymore
