Airmail - Your Mail With You Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Charged for a full year. I reported this to Apple in the hopes they remove these scammers from the Apple Store All I wanted was to try the pro sub before committing, the site clearly states there is a free trial with the monthly sub, so in the app, I clicked “try pro” without realizing they conveniently do not give people the option of the monthly sub with free trial within the app, by the time I realized this (literally 2 seconds later) I canceled the subscription, but it said I had one year to use airmail pro, it was already too late, Apple already tried to charge my card on file. This is extremely wrong and deceiving, I was planning on getting a yearly subscription if I liked the app, but I needed to try it first, which I was never given the option too. If you offer different sub planas ex monthly / yearly but only one comes with the free trial, you have to offer both options in the app for people to choose, otherwise you’re just trying to scam the people who accidentally click on “try pro” like myself thinking they were going to try the monthly sub with the free trial

Feel scammed. I purchase Airmail 1, then I purchase airmail 2. I get it for my iPhone and I Mac. Everything paid for. Now every time I open up my air Mail in my phone or Mac, it’s I always trying to sell me on monthly. Monthly for what?? It does nothing that warrants a monthly fee. It’s not like it scrubs spam or do anything different than air Mail 1 and 2, which I paid for. Now it’s almost not ever opening up because I always need to refresh tokens and re sink my phone and my iPad and all my Macs with all of my hot Mail accounts. This is seems to be every week. I’m guessing you do this on purpose to make people sign up for the monthly. You obviously won’t grandfather any one in and you apps really are a sub par time waster. I wish I could post screen caps of sync issues. Just got done putting in all of my email into the phone app for the zillionth time! After it un syncs I will definitely be deleted this garbage from my phone and all of my devices. Should have just stuck with Apples email. At least it always syncs and works. Sad

Now I Regularly Zero Out My Inbox. This was the tool I needed to be more diligent about email. There are just a few things I don’t see that I would like to see. The most useful features for me have been “unsubscribe”, “send to reminders”, “send to calendar” and “copy message link”. These capabilities are very synergistic with other apps I use such as Workflowy and Sorted. Any email I get can be instantly processed with these features, so I can focus on clearing my inbox. The features that I find missing are “copy message link” for the macOS version and the ability to set a title and due date for any mail that is being sent to reminders. It would also be really awesome if the app could automatically pull from and email the time and date information and suggest that when exporting an email to the calendar. When and if those features are implemented, this will be a perfect app. As it stands, this is the clear winner of all the email applications I have tried. It is beautifully simple, has a great design and manages to be practically powerful all at the same time. Props to this development team for sure.

Great program, horrific marketing. I purchased airmail at version 2 for all of my devices. As others have said, airmail decided to go subscription based. Great for them, and I won’t rag on them for that decision. Price was way out of line at first, but now a decent value at $10 per year. My issues are 1. The forced upgrade to the new pay version with zero notice. 2. The upgrade nag screen every time I open the program. The time to correct #1 has long since passed, but #2 is easily fixable for prior purchasers of the program. I am happy to pay for the subscription, but not until they get rid of the nag screen for customers who paid for the software. There are plenty of other email clients out there. While airmail is arguably one of the best, I refuse to give money to a company as deceptive and tone deaf to their previous customers needs.

Fix the ALL Inboxes to show more than 50 emails.... Why won’t you fix this issue??? It’s still like this in your latest beta too. This issue is infuriating at times, especially when needing to search for something. The main ALL inbox only shows the last 50 emails from any one account, so if you have two accounts, you will see a maximum of 100 emails. This drives me crazy when doing a search for something and not finding anything, only to realize I have to drill into each individual account’s inbox and search each one of them INDIVIDUALLY in order to search for something. It just should not be like this. Please change/fix this so ALL emails from EVERY account are visible in the ALL inbox. I don’t think I’ve tried any other email program with this type limitation.

An inspiring mess. As an email power user, this app inspires me. It has all the functionality I could want, and nothing I don’t want. Fully (and I mean fully) customizable actions in just about every aspect of the app. Visual and UI customizations, and it’s all modular. Super easy filters, simple app integrations, and no half-baked calendar functionality. But it is simply executed poorly. The UI is somehow consistently bulky, with wasted space and inconsistent design language. Moving between UI states is almost always clunky and jittery. Certain features easily corrupt the state of the UI and result in weird artifacts. I want this exact app but with a much more consistent UX. For now I’ll be going back to Edison.

Longtime Subscriber - I USED to Love It. I have LOVED Airmail and have been almost a zealot in getting people around me to use it. As much as I love the features and more importantly the design elements that keep Airmail less visually cluttered than default Mail and other apps (I’m looking at you Gmail for iOS that is so visually dense on any settings and is like reading the Magna Carta on an index card by candlelight). I’d even be fine paying the YEARLY fee EVERY MONTH if the software worked and the documentation was good. At least then their horrible tech support would not be a barrier as I would be able to solve the problems myself. I can handle EITHER terrible documentation OR terrible tech support. I cannot handle BOTH. Handling aliases in any email client can be a bit clunky. Airmail takes and inherently clunky process and makes it almost unusable. If there is a SINGLE help article or tech documentation on iOS aliases, I defy anyone to find it. There is a very rudimentary article on MacOS that is barely helpful, BUT ZERO ON IOS? What percentage of Airmail customers use time is on iOS vs MacOS? It’s hard to “trust” a piece of productivity software that the developer is that out of touch with its base. I realize no piece of software will meet 100% of each persons needs and satisfaction. However, my satisfaction percentage with Airmail has now dropped so low that I HAVE to leave and find another option.

Airmail. Not too happy with this app, I downloaded airmail to use for work since it was the only app that would work with my work emails, and I get them, and I can send them, but the inbox counter does not work, notifications does not work, sounds don’t work, I just have to open the app constantly to check it instead of getting notifications that I can check without having to do that. This app definitely needs work.

what happened to Read Receipt in iOS?. I have been successfully using Airmail for 4 years and the recent changes after the newer tiered subscriptions started have been very disappointing. I paid for a yearly subscription but last April (2022) the app became super buggy. Read Receipt on iPhone/iPad disappeared, 75% of my sent messages from iPhone are actually saved in drafts and never sent. If I send an email from my desktop, it doesn't sync & show up as sent in my iPhone version, and other issues on & on. I loved this app when I got it & unless these issues are fixed, I'm looking for a new email app before my current subscription lapses.

Too many annoying bugs. [UPDATE] I finally decided to leave this app for the iOS Gmail app. I waited for Airmail to address those fundamental annoyances but it never came. Using the Gmail app feels much more peaceful. === The only reason I still use this app is the app icon badge shows the email count in the inbox read or unread. Otherwise I wouldn't keep it. Too many annoying bugs. Emails in a thread jumble. Their received dates get messed up once a thread is snoozed and comes back to the inbox. Some HTML mails don't get formatted correctly. Composer quits randomly. When it happens a number of times, it leaves a draft in the draft box each time and there will be too many drafts to delete, once the email is sent. And then, it bugs me to subscribe almost every time I open the app. No, I won't subscribe until those bugs are fixed.

Switching from Spark to Airmail. Spark seems more focused on business clients these days. I wanted a mail app that is designed and updated for the individual user. I didn’t think that I’d find one as feature rich as Sparks until I came upon Airmail. It is everything that I wanted and more! I encountered some friction finding all the features that I needed in Airmail, but they are there. Fortunately, Airmail (and particularly Steven) provided excellent support which is accessible right inside the app! Nicely done!

Subscribed after a trial. Best design, privacy and functionality. This is amazing. I was in a search for an alternative of iOS default Mail app, mainly I wanted to have “schedule send” option for my Mail but iOS Mail app didn’t yet implemented it even at iOS 14!! So, among all other alternative, this app is the only one that did NOT link any data to you, no ads or other privacy-breaching points. Obviously as there is a fee your data are not any more the fees. Also there are a lot of other features that I were not aware about and knows about it. Long review in short: this is the best secure, private, handy, highly customizable Mail app ever.

Improved quite a bit lately. I’ve been using this app for years and it went through some very buggy periods suffering very slow performance. I stuck with it simply because the integration of multiple email accounts was better than any other app. But recently the developers put some effort in improving the performance and I enjoy using it again. I’m still missing the email tracking functionality though and searching is a bit slow (not as good as gmail) when you have several huge mailboxes.

Nearly great mail alternative for power users. I often juggle 2-3 accounts and it’s very easy to set up Smart Folders, rules and other aspects of management. I like the color coding, to do and starred options as they all fit into my workflow. However, the iOS version still drives me crazy when it comes to searching. I often can’t find a chain of emails or specific phrase or user because it’s so particular and limiting to the mailbox. Another downside is you often have to restart or completely rebuild rules after you make changes. So close to being the best out there.

Mediocre mail app. Used this app for a while because it was unintrusive and just worked. Exchange account does not work anymore because that’s apparently a premium benefit after the latest update. I had already paid for the year but the app won’t respect restoring previous purchases since it’s a new version. Switching back to Outlook since it has better functionality and at least Microsoft warns me when it’s about to engage in shady practices rather than just cutting off my account and asking for more money. This app is mediocre at best and the devs want to charge a premium price and will cut off certain email accounts whenever they want in order to up the price.

Great App, but too many bugs and support is non-existent. I really want to use this App, has great features and customizable to your needs, but they just make it so tough. I use the app on my iPad Pro, about a year ago the arrow shortcuts stopped working (you could assign left arrow, right arrow, etc. to do certain things like trash, move to spam, etc.). This was a huge feature for me as it allowed me to quickly go through inboxes. I have used the ‘live’ support a dozen times to resolve. You should first understand it is never live, no one ever responds immediately no matter time or day. Secondly, you get an email and most of the time it says a generic suggestion (update your software) and ‘support will look into this’. You never get an actual resolution to your problem, even after you send them requested screen shots, etc. If they are going to charge you ‘pro’ for live support, then they should actually provide live support. Very disappointing.

Quality drop. I’ve been a long time user of AirMail, probably when it first was released! I use both the macOS and the iOS version, and both suffer from quality issues. I have enjoyed using it but now it’s become bug ridden and frustrates me every day! Now, when I go to delete emails, they just reappear, the app constantly freezes, or takes quite a while before I see any mail, and doing simple things like a replying has become a chore with so-called quick reply. I’m really disappointed that the app has become less friendly and enjoyable to use!

Same Issue as Before. What good is an email app if it doesn’t actually notify you of new emails? This is the second time I’ve tried this app and now it’s doing the exact same thing it did previously when I was using it. Notifications will work for the first 2-3 weeks of having the app installed, then presto no more notifications (yes all settings are correct). To see if I’ve received new emails I have to open the app and check. So again I ask, what good is an email app that doesn’t notify you of new emails? Sure this app has all the bells and whistles (if you’re willing to pay for them) and you can customize this thing to your little hearts desire but what good is all that JUNK, if it can’t even do the most basic process an email app should do? Deleting this garbage once again and going back to Spark. Won’t make the mistake of giving it a 3rd chance either!

So close to perfect!. There are just two features I wish they would provide: 1. Dark background in the email reader. It's 2024... for the love of God, why doesn't this app provide a way for us to read emails without being blinded by that white glare?! I've paid for the pro version of Airmail, and even that doesn't provide a dark background! Pretty pathetic, really. 2. The ability to "click away" from the currently open email in order to close it. As mentioned above, even when the app is in Dark Mode, every email you open up has a blinding white background that is almost painful to look at, and there's no way to simply close that email from the viewer panel, but still remain on the email list screen. You have to click on another folder, like Trash, for example, and then click back on the Inbox to make it disappear. I just wish they'd provide away to do this to prevent that stark white background from always being on the screen.

Sadly moving on from Airmail. Airmail has been my go to email client for years, yup it’s buggy and search has never really been great, but in spite of the flaws, it does what other clients can’t and it’s super customizable. I started have issues with notifications months ago and although support was initially responsive, when their suggestions didn’t work my ticket seemed to have gone into a black hole. Lack of consistent notifications is a deal breaker for me and I’m tired of contacting support and getting crickets. It’s a real shame the app seems to have taken a step backwards, if the developers can get it together than Airmail could be a legit 5 star app.

So far, useless for me and deceptive. All I want is an email client to use with my mail forwarder. The mail service I use (gmail, yahoo, etc, etc) should be hidden. Net, all messages sent come from the email address of my forwarding service - in other words from an alias. This app claims to support aliases and you can even fill in the email address of the forwarding server. When I compose the message, it even looks like it is going to be sent with the forwarding email address. However, when it arrives at the recipient, the reply ignores the alias and uses the actual address of the email provider. Also the 30 day free trial is actually 3 days but you can cancel your subscription if you cancel 3 days before the renewal!

I came back $9.99 a year I can do. Ok so I’ll make this quick was and still is the best email app. I bought it a long time ago when it came out. Well, the developers made it have a subscription that was really high after this was a paid app to start with. Now that it has been lowered to $9.99 a year I’ll happily pay that. I do understand it cost money to keep the app working and updated. Thanks developers for being more reasonable with the subscription. Really is a great email app. I use it as my default on my iPhone.

Poor Tech Support. I keep trying other email apps, but I always come back to Airmail. It is simply the best. I can’t find no major problems with it. It is easy too use, customizable, and the $10 a year fee is acceptable. The only complaint I have is in regards to their tech support. They are indeed quick to respond to a support request. But if a problem is not resolved after they make 2 or 3 suggestions, they simply leave you hanging and suddenly do not respond. I recently had a question about the Apple Watch AirMail app. After 3 email conversations back and forth that did not solve the issue, they were suddenly silent. The support simply stopped, without any further ideas. It is as if they completely forgot about me. Improve the tech support and I can at least give 4 stars.

Pay To Receive Push Notifs?. I just started using Airmail and, as part of that, received a free trial of the “Pro” subscription for three days. All was well during that time and I started to like the service. However, I noticed that I no longer was receiving push notifications for new emails in my Inbox. It took opening the app for me to see any new emails. I did the standard measures to ensure push notifications were enabled, even deleting/re-downloading the Airmail app and rebooting my iPhone. Nothing has worked. I find it strange that this all began once the free trial ended. I particularly noticed a setting called “Real Time Inbox Monitoring” was toggled off when it was on during the trial. I don’t know if this is the cause of no push notifications but it is interesting nonetheless. I’m also disappointed that Airmail support is virtually nonexistent, as the “Contact Support” links the user to a forum on Reddit as opposed to contacting support directly. After just one week of trying Airmail, I will be finding another email app to use.

Is there any meaningful documentation for this app?. I have used this app for a couple of years and have been generally satisfied. This week several incoming messages I received from someone who is in my Contacts and I regularly exchange emails with were classified as JUNK. When I did a search on this person the new emails showed with a JUNK Icon, the old emails showed as in the inbox or in a folder I had for our emails. I looked for the JUNK folder and looked at settings to see if there was a folder with that name that I could make visible. Nothing. The only documentation I could find was their web page that was more of a list of features with no details. I did a search on their page for junk and that wasn’t even mentioned. I guess the honeymoon is over, because if I can’t figure out how to see and manage my JUNK mail I will be looking for a new email app.

Good app overall. Good app overall though some long-standing bugs. Just been using it too long to switch to something else. Good: nice UI, innovative features (though since copied by others) such as snooze and 1-click unsubscribe, good keyboard shortcuts, good support for various account types (Google, Exchange, IMAP), no ads/fair pricing model Bad: search is slow and bad, scroll position in very long emails (i.e. newsletters) is not maintained when switching between apps or when rotating phone, hard to differentiate swipe to archive via swipe to snooze

Maddening delays make this a painful user experience. At it’s core, this is a really good app. But the developers make highly questionable choices on a regular basis. Currently the 5-8 second hard coded delays when sending or deleting an email are ruining the experience, forcing a user to stare at the screen for five seconds after sending/deleting before another action can be taken. I request an option to disable those, and they respond to me like I am ridiculous, or have a problem with my hardware. This is a trend with this developer. It’s always something. Unstable app, strange feature they force on you, odd behaviors that take weeks/months to fix. Overall it’s a very solid and attractive app, but it seems to be driven by sloppy decisions.

Best looking email.. I don’t know why the app star rating is always low. I been using air mail for a few years and have not had any problems with the app. Air mail has more features and custom settings then any email I have found. The app looks great, and a while back I asked them about adding dark mode. Well they listened and now there is dark mode with black, ruby red,and blue. They look great. You have to pay for the premium package like 9.99 a year. That is cheap to have all the extra features this app has. Thanks air mail!

Decent App, but Fatal Flaw. This is generally one of the better IOS mail apps, but it has an inexplicable Flaw that makes it unusable in my work flow. When you delete an open email, the settings give you two options: go back to the mailbox, or proceed to the previous email. There is no option to proceed to the "next" email. This makes zero sense. If I am browsing emails, I don't want to go back to the last one...I want to see the NEXT one. This has been brought up to the developer by many users over the years, but the developer seems to have no interest in improving its product or listening to users.

Please FIX THE SYNC WITH EMAIL, gmail updates WAY TOO SLOW. I wrote the below response a year or so back, the integrations with other apps, search feature, snooze feature , sync with the other devices - these were all great features BUT have not been updated by the developer over multiple Apple OS updates - Please FIX THE SYNC WITH EMAIL, gmail updates WAY TOO SLOW! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PRODUCT so that it will work great again!!! (The Airmail app is a great app. I did use it on both my iPhone, iPad and my Mac. It does a great job of connecting other apps to email and makes email communication a breeze. Please keep up the great work!)

Still removing features from those who paid for Airmail 1. One of the features I paid for is the right NOT to be pestered to purchase a subscription. The frequency of this makes the app unusable. Now, I’m getting a message that my phone is “insecure” and the app refuses to run at all. Total fail —————— Latest version now removes the ability to mark email as unread. This was included in the non-subscription paid version of Airmail that lots of us paid for. Under pressure from Apple, the developers had to restore a lot of features they tried to move to behind a paywall when they went to subscription. Well, looks like they’re at it again. I’ll be filing a report with Apple again as this is a violation of App Store policies unless I see a quick update with functionality restored.

Easy to use. I have been through so many email clients trying to find one that has usable tools (like a flexible snooze for one), doesn’t cost an obscene amount every month or year, allows multiple email accounts and respects my privacy as much as possible. This one hits the sweet spot. A bonus is excellent customer support. I haven’t had many issues, but when I have needed help I get a quick and useful response from Steven. I’ve paid for more elsewhere and gotten less.

Good Client But Has Some Issues. Airmail is a decent iOS email client as it allows a great deal of function and customizations. However, there are some issues that make the app annoying to use. Those include getting notifications for all emails received even when set to VIP only. Also, there is no way to create a hyperlink into an email (seems like email 101). And although the tool has trackpad support, you can’t use the trackpad to swipe on an email to delete/archive/etc. I hope the developer continues to fix these issues and add basic functionality to the tool. Time will tell.

Once Good App Too Buggy To Recommend. I’ve used Airmail for a few years and I liked the amount of customization it offered. It wasn’t perfect, but the pros outweighed the cons. Not anymore. Now the app is simply too buggy to recommend. More and more glitches has cropped up that have never been fixed, if they worked at all: “Send Later” email option never worked, “Forward As An Attachment” has stopped working, the photo attachment sizing option never worked properly, rules created in macOS don’t sync to iOS or vice versa (which is ridiculous), Gmail gets bunched together in the All Inboxes field on iOS. I’ve contacted customer service multiple times but these bugs still exist and nowadays my requests for help go unanswered. There are too many other email clients that provide similar features and have better customer service for me to recommend paying money for one that isn’t properly maintained. Even Apple Mail is catching up in features. Airmail had so much promise. It could have been the best alternative to Apple Mail. Its extremely disappointing it’s fallen into disrepair.

Top Notch. After years of searching for the email client that does it all, I finally found it. Airmail will change your life. Finally a developer brought in all the right features - including a conversation view that show most recent messages at the TOP! I know Apple has such a feature, but Apple does not allow custom font settings in signature on the mobile app. But Airmail sure does. I love this app. What a breath of fresh air.

When your phone turns sideways…. While reading a newsletter or any long email, if your phone switches from portrait to landscape and back to portrait, Airmail always refreshes the email and starts you back at the top….so you have to then scroll down to where you were. Yes, I could turn on portrait lock BUT gmail doesn’t do this, nor does outlook. My other gripe is the email formatting in dark mode. Paste content in from another app and you have no idea what your recipients are going to get, if the colors are legible. And having to remove format and then manually reset to your default formatting every time is a tedious time consuming process. I’ve been using airmail for close to 10 years and it’s pretty dang good except for these two things. It does more than any other email app I know of and I use it religiously on my phone iPad and desktop.

The app is a little bit shaky but the support is great!. I have been a pro user for a couple of years and Mac version has been nothing but perfect. I have just started using iOS version and the unread count has been confusing ever since the beginning and it doesn’t not reflect the real count sometimes even though there is none. One of the reasons has beed attributed to the pending operations specifically when you close the app before letting them complete. It is a bummer that every time you use the app, you have to wait like 5 secs to make sure there is no pending operation. I contacted the support and a guy called Steven helped me with that and he was responsive and detailed oriented. I wish in the future versions the issue will get resolved and there won’t be any need for anybody to reset their message cache to resolve this kind of issue. Thanks

I really want to like this app, but it’s like a beta. Too many issues to be useful.. I really want to like this app but there are just TOO many bugs and issues that render this app nearly un-usable. The first, most obvious and strangest is the fact that the main mailbox window “blinks” the email shown in the right hand pane as if it is perpetually updating and trying to re-draw the window. It’s very strange and makes selecting anything other than the MOST recent single email nearly impossible. Also, It seems that the application only downloads (or has access to) a very small subset of ones total email. What use could this possibly serve?! In other words, I CANNOT use this application (even though I paid for a year of it) because I have ZERO confidence that the emails shown in the browser are ALL my email. If i open Apple Mail, I see a completely different set of emails all the time. I hate to say this, but there seem to be SO many quirks and strange behaviors that this software is nearly unusable. The developer needs to make a stable piece of software.

Airmail for iPad OS: A very good eMail Client, but.... ... For years it has had a flaw that is illogical and inexplicable, upon opening the app it automatically (by default) selects and displays the content of the newest (top most) eMail in the Inbox, this is an awful flaw that should have been fixed ages ago, not to mention the fact that it should have NEVER been allowed from the onset, imagine that whenever a physical postal service box were to be opened, it would open its front/top most envelope or parcel for everyone that's present to see... NOT desirable at all, is it? Well, the same should NEVER happen when opening ANY eMail client. Please, FIX this annoying, privacy violating FLAW. Thanks.

The glitches are too frequent. I am desperately looking for a better product and after reading some reviews I thought Airmail might be it. I like the user interface I love how it works until it glitches. Here is the glitch I experienced, in the middle of writing an email it suddenly disappears. within the first 24 hours it happened three times. I reached out for support and they asked me to videotape my work to catch this happening and then send them that. I read reviews were other people reported similar kinds of problems, those reviews are honest. The product does have issues and instead of the company investing time to fix it they askTheir customers to do that work. The search continues for a better email system on Mac. Air mail is not it, it needs to be a glitch free or at least let me get through the first 24 hours without a repeat of the same problem and the air mail people acting like the problem doesn’t exist

I am hooked. After using it for few days, I am hooked into this thing. Level of customization it offers is mind blowing. I have inbox zero right now and able to stay on top of my emails daily thanks to airmail. Actionable emails go to todo, emails with important relevant information but not actually actionable goes to memo, I also have set up a custom action where interesting reads go to read later tab. All in all it’s a must have upgrade to stock email for nominal cost. Highly recommended..

Constantly wrong!!. Needs fixed!! Constantly letting you know there's emails but nothing shows up, then you check again there's wrong number as to what it shows on home screen.. You can delete emails and they stay on the home screen.. Just a constant game playing of going in and out of the App to see if you have any emails.. Annoying!!!! 🙄 Udating! I've used other email Apps in the past and the Smart function actually works, but in Airmail I get tons & tons of junk crap with Smart turned on, down right ridiculous since paying for it

Like a beautiful car with some wheels missing. I actually paid for it. Without closer scrutiny, it looked awesome: Editors Choice, snazzy graphics, incredibly robust settings. Obviously a lot of work and effort went into the creation of it, and seemingly you can customize it in a myriad ways. I spent several hours trying to set it up, and testing it. The more I dug in, the more confusing it got, and ultimately, I found it unusable. The biggest deal breaker for me was, all sent messages disappear into thin air. There is nothing in the Sent folder. Ever. I have no record if the message was sent. If there is some setting that is buried somewhere which controls this behavior, I am all ears, and curious to know. Second, there is no tech support. Messages sent through the internal setting do not get returned. Live chat is a joke - you cannot even enter your email address in the field provided. Again, so sad, because obviously the app has enormous potential.

Love the App Concept, Hope Team Continues to Develop. I’ve used more email apps than I can count, and none have been great. I tended to go back to Outlook, but it just isn’t great on MacOS or iOS. If the team continue to improve Airmail, I am more than happy to pay the subscription. It is definitely worth it. Airmail is a huge leap forward, though these improvements would be terrific: * Actions Menu still shows all actions even after you deselect some in Settings (and it is really long list, great functionality, but better to have the option to turn it off too) * Settings do not always sync across devices (at least for me) * Sort Inbox by Sender (not just Date) * Not easy to find support or documentation (though there is some on the website) Fingers crossed for continued

Kudos to Airmail Support. I’ve enjoyed using Airmail for some time now on my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. Recently I changed the password on one of my email accounts. That went well on my MacBook and iPad. But on my iPhone the app very often had to go to my account web page to refresh the app’s credentials. There never was an issue doing host but it took a bit of time and became annoying. Steven with Airmail support was able to talk me through the process of refreshing thee we credentials in a way that they stuck. I’ve had no repeats of that issue since. Many thanks and kudos to Steven.

Please please LISTEN to all the negative reviews. I was looking for a spark alternative. I ran into airmail and I saw many negative reviews, which I took stemmed from people’s anger about the subscription model. So I pulled the trigger. Everything went downhill from there. The interface is clunky (takes minutes to load past emails when other apps take a few seconds at the most). Push notifications don’t work, despite having tried everything that customer service told me to do (All the other apps on my phone send me push notifications just fine). I’m cancelling the subscription, asking Apple for a refund (which I hope they’ll honor) and I’ll try to forget I ever downloaded this.

Best thing ever!. I have had a lot of email clients the past many years and I have to say this one is better than any of them. It literally has everything I was needing to take care of personal business organization but seems I had to get several apps for each thing I needed to do. But, this one has all of them in one application. You definitely need to get the Pro version to get all the benefits of all the app has to offer. Great app, I will be using it a long time.

Devs never use the apps they make. UPDATE: Do you devs use your own software?!? I've got a folder with 50 items I need to attach. After being asked the dumb question of where I want to upload from, I'm allowed to choose that folder. Yes, I can select all. Guess what that does. Jack all. "Done" and "Deselect" do exactly the same thing. So I'm forced to attach all individually 1 by 1, being asked that 1st stupid question every single time. ____ I've got a great idea for an email app. It lets you read an email, then when you switch over to your calendar or whatever for a second to verify information you're about to send then switch back to it, it loses that message completely such that if you're a power user and use keystrokes to reply, you don't realize you're not responding to the original message. Oh, and even better, if you copy/pasta an email link YOU CAN'T EDIT IT. That would be brilliant. Don't forget to make it ugly, impossible to navigate, unable to customize shortcuts (you know, the simple ones like "Forward"), and incapable of formatting signatures correctly.

Utterly shameful bait and switch. I’ve used Airmail for a few years now on my Macs and iOS devices. I was generally pleased with its features despite ongoing buggy behavior, particularly badge notifications not working. But the bait and switch to a subscription model is infuriating. Now, in apps I have PAID for, I routinely get popups nagging me to do a subscription for themes. $3 a month for themes? Oh sure, there are other features, but themes are what they scream loudest about. That’s insane. I’m not interested in stupid flipping themes nor the other features. I just want the apps that I PAID for to stop nagging me! Of course that won’t happen. The developer got their coin from me and now it’s the middle finger if I don’t pony up every month. Shameful.

Way too many features. At last, an IOS email client with inbox rules! I no longer dread looking for the few email messages i need to see, buried the flood of spam. This app also has to many excellent features. Documentation focuses on what things do, but not on why they exist, or how they interact. I want to be able to be productive without becoming a power user. I also am disappointed in the paid support. So far, all I have received are responses like “Read this article.” It’s the reality of economy of supporting software for the masses, but the marketing material over hypes.

Need option. Can all mail be the default option at launch? I like seeing the labels

So much promise. Great email app, almost ready to move over (from Spark). Just a few things holding me back from moving over full time: a) Keyboard lagging when forwarding messages with multiple threads b) When using soft keyboard to compose email, the message body doesn't scroll so as you type, the input line disappears out of view c) The text size of the subject line when reading email is stupidly large, if anything it should be smaller than the messages body I've raised the above with Bloop, who have confirmed they are working to resolve, go thumbs up for the responsiveness. Love the full screen experience that offers a pure view, with heaps of functionality. I love the ability to color each message (small slither on the left hand side) per account, love the customizable keyboard shortcuts and nothing comes close to the number of direct third party integrations (including my fav task manager, Swipes). The UI does need a bit of polish, I'd love the swipe gestures not have a pre notification of what you are doing, instead just got on with the gesture (small issue I know). Can't wait to move over once my issues are sorted.

Crashes constantly.. There's nothing more frustrating than writing an email and then having the app crash while you are writing it, only to open the app again and have nothing you had written saved. Every four out of five emails I've attempted to write in this app this has happened. I have now gotten into the practice of writing emails in notes first and copy pasting them into airmail.... only to realise why? Why am I even using this app? Have gone back to the standard Mail app, can't remember why I thought to use this email app at all - possibly there was a feature that didn't exist in Apple Mail at the time I originally switched. But now I can't see any reason to use airmail. Good riddance.

First-Rate Super-Responsive Tech Support for Brilliant App. I bought Airmail for my iPad yesterday after getting fed up with the numerous shortcomings of both Outlook and the native iOS mail client. Airmail looked amazing, and tremendously clean and powerful. But I wanted to change my signature from just my email. I wanted more stuff in there. What if I wanted, eg, old Kibo quotes, or a huge Ascii-art Enterprise-D? I mean, come on! ;) So I shot off a support query, asking about these very issues, and--I kid you not--*within seconds* a support guy named Steven was on the case. Now, I'm in suburban Perth in Western Australia, and I'm guessing Steven is really not, but he was right there with help, support, and doing everything short of offering a kind cup of tea and a biscuit. As we in Australia say, Phwoar! Impressed! :)

Some promising features, but.... I bought this because I use multiple exchange accounts and Apple Mail no longer lets me move email from one account to another. This transfer function works well with Airmail, but the app has a number of annoying quirks which is stopping me from using it as my primary app. The size of the email header font is ridiculously large, and the font in a lot of email previews is tiny (and you can't zoom previews)... so give me some more control please. I'm not overly fond of how they handle conversations, but maybe that's me. I don't use a Archive folder (I put email into individual folders) but the Archive button is displayed prominently on the bottom of emails (reply, archive, delete) leading you to archive stuff accidentally. And the Delete button is not very responsive - so further refinement in needed. I assume Labels is their term for folders? Whatever it is, it sloooow to download emails when you navigate to a folder for the first time. Many folders I tested were just blank and didn't update. Maybe with enough time?? There are some nice features like color coding accounts (pay attention Microsoft), and a customisable actions list. The ability to change color, alignment, bullet, etc when writing emails is very welcome. So it's promising, just lacking in refinement. It's not good enough yet to replace Apple Mail, but could be. (Dang, doesn't work on my iPad Pro - just appears as a small phone app in the middle of the screen)

Pay for the app, then take away functionality I have already paid for!. So I bought Airmail, and don’t get me wrong, apart from a few minor bugs, it’s great. But it’s morally wrong to remove functionality from an app I have paid for, and then try to sell me back that functionality on a subscription basis! As far as I am aware this violates Apple's policy when switching to a subscription based policy! I will not pay for push notifications when I already bought them. This is really wrong. This policy should be for new users, not existing users. Based on this I don't recommend Airmail. What functionality will be the next to disappear and be sold back to me? Not happy!

Could be great, buggy Exchange integration. The app is well designed and has a lot of promise. Unfortunately I've experienced serious issues with Exchange and Office365 accounts I use for work both on the iOS and OS X versions of the app: snoozes change the date in the conversation history, messages in conversations are presented in the wrong chronological order and sometimes lost entirely, searches often miss messages, signatures on saved drafts disappear. These are a few examples among other issues which make the app not suitable for me. I've contacted support many times and they've always been kind and supportive, but bugs have yet to be addressed. Until the quality assurance process for both the iOS and OS X apps improve sufficiently, the app is in my opinion definitely not worth buying. What a pity.

I'm seriously impressed. This is probably the best email app I have seen and used on my iPhone, streets ahead of the standard Apple iOS app. It's relatively easy to use once you work out how. I had a problem trying to find out how to create folders and I was brilliantly assisted by Steven at Airmail Support who very quickly showed me how its done, Thanks Steve. If I have any peeves, it would be the lack of any manual or user guide. So as not to bloat the software, perhaps a seperate download could be created, just a thought. I highly recommend this mail app, certainly worth a try.

Feedback Button. Todays update has a bug team. The feedback button when hidden keeps coming back on constantly when switched off.

Squeezing customers for more money. Already paid for a lot of features and now a monthly subscription is needed for using them . WTH . Isn’t this cheating the customers that helped grow this company and already paid once for the features . Shameful on your business strategy that doesn’t respect any of it’s customers . #UPDATE : Increasing price every 6 months . Now i have to pay more and more and buying the app long time ago doesn’t count . What a waste . Switching to Spark .

Best mail app with awesome support. I've been using Airmail on my MacBook and iPhone for over a year for all my email accounts now. I love it, especially things like Evernote integration with one swipe. I've had questions for the Airmail team on a couple of occasions and they've answered my queries within seconds, with people like David replying via the in App support conversation function within seconds at any hour of night or day. Love this App.

Terrific alternative to default mail app. I feel like i've been searching for an alternate mail app for years now. Having attempted outlook and several others, there were always downsides such as sync issues or apps being flat out boring to use. Have only been using airmail for 24hrs now but already love how customizable it is and more importantly, how solid an email client it is! Not to mention terrific support by Steven on a weekend with a pretty basic question I had, couldn't recommend this app any more. Will now look at the desktop version for my imac.

Absolutely terrible if you are on the move. This is the worst email Client app if you are on the move… I have been a paid user for three years and it has failed me. Many many many times if you are trying to email through a cellular network, just very very very very disappointed.

Great App and Great Customer Service. I've been putting up with the Apple's Mail idiosyncracies for a long time, till I became fed up with the whole thing and installed the Airmail 3 on my iMac and MBP. What a relief! Then I purchased the Airmail for my iPhone and had a couple of minor issues with setting it up. The customer service staff '.Sarah' was very helpful and the issues were fixed within a minuted. Great App and great customer service.(Farid from Sydney, Australia)

It’s still good!. I know everyone is complaining about the subscription model they changed to. However at $15 AUD a year I think it’s great value especially compared to the likes of Newton that charge $50 a year! I’ll happy $15 a year for something that’s good especially considering Netflix is $15 a month and most people pay for that yet I barely find that good these days.

Don't bother.. App has bugs. Cache issue and random badge showing 6000+ new emails more than there are. App support have been silent on this for over 2 weeks. Not good enough.

Pro, what exactly?. I had been with Airmail free for a few years, until I started getting annoying pop ups about Airmail Pro this year. One day, I was so frustrated that I did it, and paid for ‘Pro’, and you know what? Same annoying pop ups, no pro. I swear this app has just turned into a costly spammer. No longer worth it. Wish I was still Airmailing for free. Will NOT be renewing my yearly sub :/

What you need to know if you are looking at Airmail. I’ve just cleared my email on two accounts, using custom actions to move some items to my task list and saved something off to Evernote. It works the same on my iPad, phone and two computers. I’ve also tried most of the email clients and I’ve decided to stick with Airmail because it makes my life less painful. So why is this app getting such poor reviews? It’s because the developer changed business models and decided to start charging a monthly or annual fee for some features. Some people like myself thought we had already paid for those features and are disappointed to now be asked to pay again. Fair enough. Here’s the thing. Since this change, the developer has in fact added a few new features. I still think this is the best email client option for me. Could they have handled this change better? Probably, but I want them to stay in business and supporting the best client available, in my opinion. And I’ll pay a bit more to have that. If others want to go off and use another client, I understand that but this is how I see it. I’m giving them five stars because the app works really well for me. I don’t have any affiliation with them and I hope they continue to support this product for as long as I need it or at least until someone else builds something better. Then I might switch but for now I’m sticking with them.

Forced users to subscriscriptions. Used for a year and now forced to subscribe. Moving to another client.

constantly crashes. Chatbot premium support suggested I leave a review. Use something else.

Review update - I’ve cancelled my subscription. As much as I disliked the subscription model imposed on users, I decided to give it a try for a couple of years on the iPhone, iPad and Mac. While there was no single defect that drove me away, the increasing number of small defects that appeared over that period has driven me away. Examples are: Regularly forgetting account authentication details requiring them to be re-entered. The undo function not working consistently. Undoing the deletion of an email brings back the wrong email, or several wrong ones. When clicking on a link then returning to the app, the email position had "reset" to the top of the email. Rules work inconsistently. Searching doesn’t find all the emails matching the criteria. Formatting of received emails is often wrong. Emails do not conform to the size of the preview window. And many, many other small defects that, taken together, means the app is must too annoying to use, and demonstrates poor QA from a testing viewpoint.

frustrating. It started off good, but over time it became unreliable. Pros: very nice UI & customisation! Cons: I can’t send/reply to emails, the app freezes every single time. Constant pop-up offers to sign up for Pro, when I am already subscribed.

Message Faillures and slow support. Was hoping this could be a good alternative to Outlook or Apple mail but my message sending intermittently keep failing. There is no way to see why it is failing. If you click on notification it just disappears. Also searching is a lot less limited than with Outlook or Apple mail. There doesn’t seem to be advanced searching option like searching within date ranges or text inside message body etc. Not great if you rely on Calendars a lot.

Terrible support. I emailed support with a problem and they initially responded quite quickly. I gave them all the information they requested and now they have gone silent. It must be 2 months now. I’ve emailed and asked for an update but I get nothing!

Great for corporate. I’m equipping our executives with iPads and google services, so it’s great AirMail handles calendar invitations well. I’m also pleased there’s a gDrive action and works on multiple attachments to and from the gDrive. We will not be using apples calendar, but prefer Calendar 5. And there’s an action for that too. So with AirMail I can customise what features to include (and hide) from my mobile executives. Steven has been giving me great support too, thanks!

Great app with support. I have been using Airmail for a while now. I chose it as it has prompt notifications. Recently I had an issue with the app. I contacted support via the app and the issue was resolved promptly. Thank you Steven.

Didn't update my email. My email account that is working perfectly fine with Apple's inbuilt email client is not updating anymore out of the blue after 2 weeks of normal airmail use. Unfortunately I thought I had simply not received any emails that day, which meant I missed an important email with potential consequences. I was shocked that there was no error message that the account could not be updated. This is an extremely important feature that is simply missing and reminds me that Airmail both on OS X and iOS is just full of bugs that make it at the end of the day not suitable for serious use. I want to believe in these products as the provide great customisability and design, but who cares if you cannot rely on the app.

Forced to pay more. I was a long time user and lover of this app (on both iOS and MacOS), the way it handled my mail and the many awesome features made it worth using and pay for over other free alternatives. However, since the update some of the basic most useful features have been shut out from us long time paying users and we are being asked to pay a subscription to unlock them again. I understand that a one-time payment method is sustainable and subscriptions are better for business. However, I would suggest you should have let the past paying users keep the features they paid for and allow the subscription service to be for new features if they wish to unlock them at maybe a discounted price. And any new customers would pay for features old and new you deemed appropriate.

Never known such a nagging app. I like this app, paid for it years ago so decided to try it again. It constantly nags, & I mean constantly, to sign up for a monthly or annual subscription. I’m sick of it. Without the constant nagging I’d have given a 4.5 rating but the developer harassment has reduced it to 1 imo. Regretfully deleted . PS How many subscriptions do developers think people can afford?

Finally, my email search is over. Having searched high and low for a native iPhone email app offering more than the bare basics, I took the plunge & spent the AU$7.99 - thinking it is probably a waste of money, regardless of the positive reviews: AirMail just blew my socks off with the levels of flexibility offered to manage emails. Fantastic! And, real-time support to boot: I spoke to Sarah real-time & she quickly & effectively answered the questions I had! Bravo!

Does the job, but ads to upgrade are obnoxious. I’ve been using AirMail for a few years now. I’m not a heavy email user - all I want is something that handles multiple accounts gracefully and is stable. The colour coded inbox that AirMail offers is an attractive solution to multiple account, allowing you to see at a glance where a message has been sent to. I found it so useful I also bought the desktop version. But recently the app has moved to a subscription model for premium features. I don’t use any premium features so I’m fine using the version for the plebs. But I’m constantly being nudged to upgrade. Every once in a while a full screen promo to upgrade takes over my whole screen and needs to be dismissed. It’s obnoxious and annoying that I can’t just dismiss this and then never see it again, and is slowly souring me on the app. Maybe that’s the point? Perhaps as a non-premium user I’m actually a drain on the dev’s resources and they want me to either upgrade or stop using the app entirely? It’s a shame because the design of the app has slowly been getting better (good riddance to the hairline thin icons). So if you’re a “pro” email user AirMail might for the bill if you’re happy to subscribe. If you just want a simple email experience, stick with the stock mail app or look at other alternatives that won’t nag you.

Simply the best. This is the best email client for cross platform OSX, iPhone and iPad. The ability to sync settings via iCloud is magnificent. Yes there are a lot of possible settings and it can be a little daunting if you go beyond stock standard, but the “Live Support” is second to none - thank you Steven (I was trying to sort out how to see sent mail without using the unified inbox, the trick press on the Sent folder and select the account you wish to look at :)

Great email app. I tried a few email apps on iOS and settled on Airmail, which I have used daily during the past year and now rely on it to safely handle my emails from multiple accounts & using multiple alias settings. I have just taken my first steps using a Macbook after years with PC's, and had a couple of Airmail questions. Went to the Airmailapp site and received great online assistance from Sarah, who provided good tips & info, and now my Mac Airmail is working well. Very happy with this app. :-)

Yea..... nah!. So I buy and install Airmail for our desktops and phones. We use it for several years happily and today I find that you want me to pay a subscription for core functionality? Seriously? If I remember correctly, one of the selling points of Airmail upfront was the once off cost, I would never have bothered if I knew you were going subscription based. If you want everyone to pay for a major upgrade, that’s fine, I do that with other apps, but to force everyone to subscription so they can keep what they paid for up front? Sorry guys, no dice. I’ll wait and see if you wake up to the error of your ways. If not, I’m dumping you - it’s not as if there are not alternatives these days.....

Always getting better. While the app is a bit pricey, I think it compliments the Mac app very well and is much better than the stock Mail app - particularly when it comes to managing multiple accounts. Every update brings more stability and more updates, I'm really happy with Airmail on my iPhone. In case you do have any trouble, they have some incredible support available. Paul from Airmail got back to me within 5 minutes and my issues was solved within 20mins. Top job, high recommend it.

Power and Stability. I have used Airmail since it first came out. I defected to Spark for a while since it looks nicer and handles newsletters and notifications better, but Spark always had synchronisation problems and lacked the power of Airmail, so I have returned and am glad I did. I really like how just about everything in Airmail can be customised, and it has features for bouncing spam e-mails back. My only gripe is that the desktop version allows me to sort e-mails by oldest first, but the iOS version doesn’t. As I go for “inbox zero” each day, it makes more sense to read the oldest e-mails first.

Poor app. Constant crash. Support from the team is abysmal. I am a paying Pro customer. Will find another app. Hugely disappointed.

Great eMail App and Sensational Support. I have the Mac OS app as my eMail client and just downloaded and installed the IOS App. I have 8 email accounts and the time you save importing settings from iCloud is worth it on its own. It’s a fast app and easy to become proficient with quickly. I had a couple of user related questions and fired off an email to support within the app and not 5 minutes passed before a received a reply from Steven in support. He answered the questions and had me on my way and it was great to deal with someone so at the top of their game. All round, you cannot go wrong with this app for Mac OS or iOS backed by sensational report. Just ask for Steven 👍

Rubbish. How is this app even still around? Horrible way to treat long time customers. Switched everything over to Spark immediately. Removing functionality that I had already paid for and trying to make consumers pay again via subscription is beyond shady. Anyone wanting a good email app, use Spark. Way better functionality.

Loss of functionality with latest update. I’ve been a happy user of Airmail for a few years now. I’m probably not using it to it’s full potential but I use it to keep some separation between my personal email (that lives in Mail) and some organisations I’m involved with. The latest updates has now paywalled push notifications behind a subscription service. And the 4 months grace period only applies from the original purchase date - in other words, long time users of the app are given the middle finger. Don’t get me wrong, the app itself is great for handling email, particularly if you use more of the advanced features built into it; under normal circumstances this would be 4-5 stars easily. But I fundamentally disagree removing functionality the app previously had and then trying to sell it back via a monthly subscription.

Sensible setup for self hosting. I tried a number of email clients that did not play well when I tried to enter or edit my imap mail accounts and server details. I host my own email server and can not believe how hard it is to enter or edit mail server details or ssl port numbers. Some won’t let you edit at all and have to delete the account and start again (Sp*rk) The default mail client (M*il) could not cope with two or more mail accounts using the same mail server, and was insufferably useless to try and troubleshoot by just hanging… I tried others and had similar issues, or were stupidly expensive. Anyway, what a relief to find Airmail works well and has a great feature set. Reasonably priced too. And allows family sharing.

Airmail premium?. I’ve been a very happy user of Airmail for a long time and have loved this app and its features. But imagine my surprise when I open it today to discover that I will now have to pay a monthly fee to be able to use the app (and yes I know that I can still use it without premium, but honestly what good is an email app without push notifications?) I can understand wanting to change to a different business model, but I paid good money for this app and I feel like I have been completely thrown under the bus. If you need to introduce a new paid plan to make money then go for it, but let the users who have paid for the app already keep using it. Or at the very least don’t put something as important as push notifications(???) under the premium tier.

OMG awesome and powerful. This app has so many options and customisation. I’m not too sure why other people have given this app such a poor rating. I am currently using this app on my iPhone X and have not experienced a single issue which is a pleasant surprise because the poor rating is why I never tried it before. I was after an email client on my phone that had the features of outlook on my computer. Needless to say this app has everything covered. Give it a crack and ignore the negative reviews.

Pretty but pointless. Sure it's the nicest looking email client around, works with any email account and has a million features but I find I spend all my time fixing syncing errors. If I do something on iOS I have to fix something on OSX and vice versa. Tapping 'return' on a subject line doesn't drop the cursor into the email body when composing. Small...but it drives me nuts. The amount of features and customisation is mind boggling. Sometimes I don't even know what they mean or do. I find all this just wastes time fiddling around with unimportant matters.

Devs can’t fix bugs or support customers. Has the potential to be the best app. Fails miserably because of tragically incompetent coding. Bugs, bugs, bugs: - Search fails to find obvious hits - Send Later fails silently with aliases - Switching folders takes ages And so on. As a bonus, support is completely unhelpful and the devs ban from their Discord people who have the nerve to report problems.

Good when it works!. Really good functionality but totally unreliable. I have Airmail on 4 devices and it now only works on 1! Each time it ceased to work on a device, I went through Airmail support, who failed to rectify the problem, told me they would report it to the developers and I never heard more. I use many apps and this is the only one that I’ve come across where the support service fail to rectify problems and just give up! Extremely disappointing. Save your money and maybe more importantly, your time and frustration. UPDATE Developer left a message on this site to contact them for help to resolve the above issues however when contacted they then claimed to have no record of my past multiple reports of issues and expected me to start the process over (having been through this multiple times already), conveniently ignoring my request for a refund given their inability to satisfactorily resolve the fact that I am unable to use the app on four devices. What a joke! Steer clear of this app.

A solid app with many features. Airmail has a multitude of features that provides diversity for a wide range of requirements. I can use it for the simplest of email tasks to the most complex. The ability to add services provides flexibility and control over the material received. The use of labels is not too dissimilar to folders but with the ability to duplicate emails and store them in several places allows for an easier search. While the format is clean and relatively simple, it provides many layers of complexity that allows for structure within the many emails I receive daily. The recent need for support was also refreshing. The online chat with Steve was productive and efficient. This is not amateur hour, this is a professional outfit that demands a fee and is well deserved. There are many free mail clients out there but you pay for what you get. I am more than happy to pay the annual fee. Well done, the support from Steve and the app itself lends itself to significant interaction and durability. I actually enjoy doing my email with Airmail!

One mail client across all devices. I have just about tried them all, I want more than Apple mail offers and yet with some of the other mail clients I got less. Airmail for iOS (and OSX) does everything and more, and the relatively unified user interface across both Apple platforms makes for a seamless user experience. With tight Gmail integration, icloud storage of user settings and full integration with Apple and Gmail Apps such as contacts, calendar and reminders, it just does it all and much more. The integration with other iOS Apps is phenomenal. Support has been great too - Sarah I thank you for your prompt and helpful live help :-) I highly recommended Airmal

App doesn’t refresh mail. Reinstalled this after a brief fling with Readdle’s Spark email app. First attempt, the add account window just froze, so uninstalled, then persevered later with a reinstall and the add account allowed me to add my gmail account, but I couldn’t get the inbox to refresh, no matter how many times I pulled the inbox display down. Also tried sending stuff, but it just sits in the drafts folder. Have deleted the app and re installed again, but it won’t send or receive. Which of course, is a great shame as I have paid for the subscription, but as it stands at the moment, it’s unusable. Back to Spark or outlook I guess as Airmail has great functionality that beat its rivals, but never experienced these sort of issues when using it in the past. Hope they sort them soon

Doesn’t check for new messages. The only way I can get new mail is to open the app and manually refresh the inbox.

Awesome. By far the best email app i’ve ever used

Fake ratings. Not sure how this company keeps getting high ratings. Buggy and a waste of money. Support is garbage abs very unhelpful.

Love this App!!!. I have been using the mail app that comes on the iPhone for ever, never even thought about switching, but managing my email was a nightmare. I finally decided to look for something else and I looked up what was popular and am I glad I did! I LOVE this app, it’s so easy to create folders, label emails, create rules and manage my email like I do for work on my laptop. For $10 a year it’s a win!!

Really Great App and Amazing Live Support. Been using this app for a couple of years now. Recently upgraded to the premium version. It has great functionality, really clean looking, ability to snooze emails, send emails later, all email accounts in one inbox, really cool! Also live chat support is pretty cool. Thanks Steven for answering all my questions and assisting me.

Moving away from the best?. Airmail is now a subscription based app. Listen, I’m all about supporting developers, but as someone who has been using Airmail for my iOS devices and on the desktop for years, I’m truly disappointed in the move to a subscription service. I’m willing an able to pay for major upgrades as a way to support my favourite developers, but this is just ridiculous. Subscriptions are not fair to the average user nor are they fair for small business owners. A little warning would have been great. Hopefully I can update this review (again), proven that the move to a subscription model is a benefit to me as a long time user.

One of the Best Email App!. Love the GUI and its simplicity and the all of the formatting tools available nicely laid out and easily accessible. The support staff, especially Sherlyn, are very accessible and answer questions quickly and accurately. The only reason for not giving it a 5-Star is that it is still missing an internal Calendar that other lower quality email apps have. Keep up the great work.

Honteux !.

Really Nice.. BUT. I’m just currently trying this one out but sadly it disappoints me right away, there is a “get airmail pro” floating banner at the bottom of the mail. At first it’s ok but as I navigate to settings the upgrade to airmail pro is intrusive, I don’t like that it keeps bothering you to upgrade to pro, paying monthly or yearly, some people may argue that it is worth it especially yearly, why can we just have a normal free email app for day to day use and to those who wanted to upgrade to pro to use more of the features, they can do so by going to settings then hit upgrade, not like getting into a random “hey upgrade to pro” surprise pop up.

Love it. Best email app I’ve ever used

Not worth the subscription. I read good things about this app and decided to pay to use it. I’ve had it one day and have already run into numerous bugs. The biggest being that the app won’t show a badge that says how many unread emails I have. This is… the most basic feature for an email app. I’ve contacted support three times and received no replies. Moving on to the next one I guess. Seems this app has been abandoned. Trying to get a refund now.

Good, but janky. There are a lot of features here. So it’s too bad the basics are so wonky. Like viewing and reading email. The app jumps around in a message as you’re reading it. As I scroll down in a message, it keeps forcing me back up to the top. Also, when you move between apps on an iPad then return to this app, it will close the email you had been reading. Extremely frustrating to use in a basic sense, despite all the advanced features.

Scam. Was good until they made a subscription out of it. App is useless without push notifications, which you now have to pay extra for.

airmail. tres bon appli et tres rapide quand il est synchronisé! :)

Great App, Clear Privacy Policy, No AI Push. I was looking at alternative mail apps for iOS, and within those with good visuals and UI. Airmail seems to be the only one that supports all types of accounts, has a clear privacy policy that they’re not in the business of selling data, and finally, are not pushing some AI read and write your email solution. Almost everything else I tested out of five or six apps either had aggressive data collection (Edison), or pushed an AI solution which I don’t want. I prefer to maintain my skill set and write for myself. The only minor feature that would be great to add, is if you could set a default font for composing a message. You can change it per message, but have to select it each time. (Every other mail app was the same here, so this may be an iOS limitation)

HORRIBLE UPDATE. I love how I paid for the app and now I have a green beggar icon permanently floating around now. RUDE!

Love/hate. I love/hate the app. Love that its good option to Outlook and Mail. What i hate about it is that its unyielding. For example the reply button has to sourced from a list. The signatures work, sometimes. There is no way to link it to Google calendar. And few more glitches. Hopefully, they will be corrected soon.

Relentless pop up asking you to pay $40 for Premium. $40 a year for an EMAIL CLIENT ? How delusional are you?

I like it, but……. I find it easy to navigate, but I was immediately bombarded with upgrading to pro. Since I am using this for personal email, not sure if I see the benefit of a pro account. I was also a little annoyed by this prompt almost immediately. If it is a pro account it should be specified in the App Store.

Really gone off a cliff. Loved this app. Used it for years… for the past few months it’s just been an absolute mess. It no longer works properly. Frequently freezing. Doesn’t load messages. I’m about ready to dump it for good. Very sad. Like I said, loved it, but I’m at my wits end with my email not working on a regular basis.

No Support Available. Paying customer with an ongoing issue, I’ve tried chat and email. Never get a reply. The App is great, the after support service is simply not there. AirMail please respond!

Dormant development, “just ok” app sums it up. I've used AirMail for 5 years now on Mac and iPhone, of which the last few with the yearly subscription. I can see "regular" updates, but I have no idea what changed; certainly nothing significant, but also not the bugs (staying stuck in night mode on iPhone, quirky behavior with list on Mac, etc). It works well enough to be usable, there are some interesting features that got me to use it and kept me with it for years (vim keyboard bindings, send to Things 3, etc), but today is the end of the road. I'm cancelling my subscription (not sure what I paid that yearly "rent" for anyway) and moving to Outlook.

Cons. These guys keep triggering pop ups that ask you to upgrade to paid plans. There’s no way to say no and shut them off. These guys annoy you till you pay them. Save yourself the time and use a different email client.

Well designed. Practical functions and excellent designs. Definitely worth the money

Nice, but no flags!. If you use flags in Apple Mail or Spark, like I do, you won’t be able to find them in Airmail. Here is what Airmail support had to say about flagged emails: "For now, we do not support flags in Airmail. You can see them in the starred folder. The starred folder in Airmail will show you only those messages which are starred in Airmail and not any other email client or webmail. You can see these (from outside Airmail) starred messages in Inbox but not in the starred folder.” I was thrilled to try Airmail after the 2017 Apple Design Award it received. I now regret having bought the apps on iOS and MacOS, so I’m leaving this review to warn others. Nice app, but deal breaker for me :(

Fairly good in general, but definitely needs some polish. Every time I open the app, it asks me if I want to enable notifications. I say no, and dismiss the prompt and the next time I open Airmail it asks again. That’s ridiculous!

The best email app & I’ve tried them all. I have been using Airmail since it came out on IOS. Recently, as in 2023, it has had problems. I have had to uninstall and re-install three times because it keeps loading a blank, black screen. I have tried to contact support, but have never received a response. It is a PIA to re-do all four of my maiI accounts each time I re-install. I love this app, but I think I’m going to have to switch to another email app. This is simply not acceptable. I’m going to try one more time to re-install this app, but if it happens again, I guess I’ll have to accept the loss of my subscription fee because I refuse to continue dealing with this glitch.

Scammy and lack of support.. If you’re interested in this app you should know two things: 1. Airmail charges for family sharing in their pro subscription but doesn’t officially support the feature so you feel ripped off. 2. Their support is MIA so if you have a problem, like the one I have, you won’t get very far.

Good UI, terrible features and support. I have used Airmail on Mac for years, and now iPadOS. It’s astonishing that features remain broken for years, despite their “award winning customer service” and online online forums (mostly consisting of users repeatedly asking for the same features to be fixed) If you ever need to search you email, just don’t even bother with Airmail, it’s terrible. I really like the overall UI and function of Airmail, but I honestly keep an alternate email app available on my devices solely to search my inboxes & email accounts. Insane really. Support is non-existent - even with the paid subscription. It’s like a black hole of request. Despite all this, I continue to use Airmail with all it’s issues for business and personal use. Overall, it’s the best solution for my needs, despite needing an addition email client app to fill in simple things like “Search”.

Great app!. Many thanks to Steven for his knowhow!

A bit sluggish and privacy concerns. App is slow to load emails on iPhone 6s - should be instant like Apple Mail app. Also I have privacy concerns, they store your email credentials on their server to enable push notifications

Airmail is the Truth!. I have been using Airmail for over a year, and it just keeps getting better. I have to give a big shout out to Sarah from Airmail who gave me excellent help on solving a problem. Great app and fantastic customer service have become synonymous with Airmail for me.

Extremely buggy - Useless and Arrogant Support. I had high hopes for this app but it fails with flying colours at the most basic functionality. Notifications don't work properly at all!! If you receive an email and check it from another app; the new email badge doesn't refresh in Airmail. So you're always thinking you still have a new message when you actually don't. Whenever you send a message from Airmail, it creates an unread message in Apple Mail which is extremely annoying and wrong. No other email app exhibits this buggy behaviour. These are only two examples of the ample amount of bugs plaguing Airmail. Trying to communicate with customer support is a nightmare and the attitude is careless, incompetent, and arrogant. The customer support rep even told me to request a refund from Apple because he couldn't be bothered. Stay away from this buggy app. It may have tons of features but it also comes with tons of problems. The developer should take a cue from others and do some serious quality control before releasing their rubbish. I highly recommend both Spark and Outlook. Both work flawlessly.

Much better!!!. Version 5 has all the features I wanted, minus all the bugs from the previous version. I have finally found the PERFECT mail app that works great across all my devices. Absolutely perfect. Can’t wait to get into some of the more advanced features.

Disappointing lack of support. Despite paying a subscription there is a lack of Live support which when off-line states they will email you back. Offline again today a week later and still waiting for a response. No instructions on their support docs that address Microsoft 2-factor Authenticator issues on the iOS version. Probably explains why the last Apple Design award they proudly display was 5 years ago….

Airmail. Love this Email app, used over a year and no issue just renewed subscribe another year. Thanks.

Does not do as promised I want a refund. I chose to go pro because it says can sort email by sender. It does not. False advertising. Please refund.

Subscription without notice?. I have been using Airmail for years. Paid for it several times over on iPhone, iPad, personal Mac and work Mac. Wake up this morning to no emails and think that’s strange... Only to find out there was an update last night that made this a subscription service which caused me to miss important messages because no push notifications. Incredibly poor service and a disappointment to loyal customers. The proper, respectful thing to do, would have been to grandfather existing users who previously paid full price for the App. Deleting the App from all my devices and will not recommend ever again.

$3.99 per Month?!. ...for push notifications? Goodbye. Moving to Spark.

Crooks. Wow, paid for this app on all my devices. Buggy, but still loved it. Now they want me to pay for push notifications, which I try on as a freelancer. Lost a customer, for sure.

It was great. I loved this until about two days ago. It was the perfect app for me to manage multiple accounts from different domains in, but now all the sudden it keeps disabling two of my accounts and every time I try to add them it either fails, or adds them completely wrong so that they some how end up duplicating another email I have set up in the app. It’s pretty irritating.

Ads. The ads upon opening emails are very irritating

Not worth the monthly fees.. The app itself is okay, but based on their business model of monthly fees, there are better options out there.

Been using for years, switching. I’ve been an active user for years, it had a lot of features I wanted. But they haven’t updated it in a very long time and it just doesn’t compete with newer platforms. It’s 2023 how does Airmail not have autocorrect on the desktop app??? I contacted support for it, never heard back. Airmail was good in 2018, but they aren’t updating or improving. Wouldn’t be great for the future.

Money Hungry. The app is okay, but garbage business practices. Monthly subscription in order to get push notifications; and the have the gut to write “airmail is now free” in the description 😂 Time for a new mail app

Original customer who can’t get help and is being overcharged. I was an early adopter of Airmail. I purchased pro. I’m now continually being asked to upgrade even although I have paid for my annual renewal. I cannot seem to get through to anyone never mind a human being to attend to this. The Chatbot keeps telling me to leave feedback and provided me with this link. So here is the feedback. Could someone please respond to me? Alan

Great App — unless you use iCloud. I have 3 email accounts on Airmail, and 2 of the 3 work great (Office365 and Gmail). My iCloud account, however, has a serious issue with Airmail. All new incoming emails are marked as read upon arrival as soon as the push notification arrives on my phone. If I turn off notifications, the behaviour stops. It’s a real pity — I otherwise love this app, but marking all new emails as read on my iCloud account is a deal-breaker for me. If you do a Google search, this isn’t a new bug (been around at least a couple of years), and their “premium” support is completely useless in solving it. If they fix this bug, I’ll happily come back and renew my subscription, but as it is I’ve cancelled my subscription and advise anybody with iCloud email accounts to steer well clear.

Great app and great support.. By far my preferred mail app, and the subscription gives it to me on the laptop too. Had a minor problem and Steven in live in-app support fixed it in minutes.

AirMail Fail. AirMail is unable to properly sync with @me.com iCloud accounts. My account is constantly going offline and stuck in the initialization stage. After spending hours troubleshooting, and multiple conversations with AirMail Chat Support, I give up on this app. Back to Apple Mail.

Want my $$$ back ASAP. Will not push notifications. Waste of money!

ALREADY PAID, SHOUD NOT BE PAYING MORE TO USE AIRMAIL. [Update] Reading around on the Internet, it seems that this really comes down to if push notifications are considered as part of app's 'primary functionality' or a ‘side service’ as the developer claims. If the former, then it appears that this is in violation of Apple's App Store Review Guidelines. I strongly feel that push notification are considered as part of app's primary functionality because without them, this app is useless - what do others think? —————— Luckily, I saw the update description before updating Airmail. I think there are few issues here. 1) It is absolutely unethical for Airmail to do this; why do paid users have to pay more to get what they have already paid for!!?? 2) As a paid users, we should have the option not to upgrade (essentially, throwing away our paid version of Airmail if you “upgrade”) 3) Apple needs to add a feature in the iOS App Store to allow users to stay on a particular version of an app by locking, hiding, or by any other means. But the bottom line, the Airmail developer has made the wrong decision. I know when Navigon decided to start charging for map updates, the users just exploded with negative reviews and this made the company alter its decision ; so hopefully with enough unsatisfied voices, we could hope to see the same from the developer.

👉 Are you looking for an Adsense alternative advertising platform?

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!

Don’t do it!!. Yep, the subscription is a fair price, but if you want the key element of an email app - notifications- this not the app for you. I have used the app for two weeks, have sent three different support tickets for 1. Repetitive notifications for one email. The only way to stop the notification was to remove the app. 2. Reloaded the app, at least I am not receiving repetitive notifications, I am getting no notifications. I have missed two important work emails that my boss asked why I hadn’t answered his question. Run away quickly!!

What happened to Airmail?. This email app was the best, and is now among the worst. There is no control over font size when you are composing. Sure, you can control what others see, but it is inexplicable that you can’t control the font used that the user sees while writing an email. The default is too small. To go bigger, you end up sending a huge font that make the recipient think you’re 105 years old. Airmail does a lot of stuff well that no one asked it to do, it the basics continue to be a failure. Hopefully the developers will fix what ails it.. including a setting that lets Airmail truly use the ‘real’ system font.

The three dots problem.. With all of the software that I have, and every website that I visit, tapping on three horizontal dots brings up an options menu. Consequently, when I tapped the three blue dots in the Airmail composition window, I expected to see such a menu and was shocked that it sent my uncompleted message. Please use a different icon or just the word “send.”

Permanent Contacts. I would give this app five stars. It has everything in an email app that you would expect. I’m charged a monthly fee! But there’s NO way to delete email contacts! If there is it’s not intuitive! Apple! How does an app win editors choice when you can’t delete contacts?! Not even spam addresses can be deleted! From All Contacts list! So every contact listed is permanent. Shame on you and on the developers! I should not even rate this 2 stars! But other than the contact list it’s a five star app.

Terrible support. I’ve been using Airmail for several years and have been a satisfied paying customer. Four months ago a minor update introduced a bug with swiping actions. At first, support told me this was being prioritized. Then they repeatedly asked me to upgrade to other versions, none of which addresses the issue. And now they no longer will reply to my support requests at all. This is a fine app, but don’t count on things getting fixed if you run into bugs.

Used to be great. Was a fantastic option for the last few years, over the last year or so even basic functionality - like alerting me with notifications or the badge numbers that I have new unread mail - has stopped working. Sad, but this will be my last year paying for pro and using this app.

Cheap but buggy. This app is a good value and mostly works, but the savings are brought to you by an unending series of annoyances and little bugs. It feels like an app that has outgrown its developers and is drowning in its complexity. One example, it regularly shows a badge for unread messages even when there are no unread messages. Quitting and restarting will usually, but not always, reset the badge count. I pay for it and use it, but it brings me no joy or confidence.

Don’t be so cheap.. Unbelievable how people are trying so hard to sink a company because an app they use 100x a day wants to charge a few bucks a year. And the rage... the RAGE!! So you paid $10 or whatever a couple of years ago... who cares? Have two less coffees a month.

Customer Support. The greatest plus to this app is prompt customer support. Steven is always around to help and to point you in the right direction if you need a question answered. Airmail is the best email app out there and since I’ve tried them all, I know. Pleasing to the eye, plus a myriad of features. It’s definitely worth its small cost.

Gone downhill. This used to be a great email app and it still has more features than most of its competitors but it’s just not worth it anymore. The mute function quit working for me several months ago. I contacted support and they said “update to the latest version” (which I was already using) and they never responded again, over three months. I think email is an important enough app to know that there’s some support when you need it, Airmail has none.

Pretty buggy for a paid app. I’ve been using this app for a couple of months and mostly like it. But there are some things which simply shouldn’t be happening in an app you pay for. It’s really rather buggy. Deleted emails don’t always disappear from the list view after deletion. Screen/emails jump around at times while looking through emails The inability to easily look at folders under individual email accounts is ridiculous When looking through emails, sometimes the first email I read in the sessions pops up, when I’m not looking at that email or even in that account My signature is white or off white text, when the original text used to create it is black If you charge for something it should be bug free or nearly so. This app needs work.

I like it but stop deleting my outlook emails!!. I had airmail until today with about 3 or 4 accounts loaded. I was quite happy with airmail up until I went to my browser on my computer and EVERY email from the last two months (in my outlook account only afaik) was in the part of my trash that has been deleted from trash, but can still be recovered. Seriously? That’s what archive means to you?! I’ve been archiving everything cuz you never know when you’ll need that old email so like why is it beyond deleted???

Airmail 5 Stars. Would use again. Powerful email syncing app. Make sure you check the permissions before just allowing to run in the background. It has a lot of pull within said system

Great app for people with multiple accounts. Love this app (when subscribed)! Great for users who have accounts with different providers and the quick actions are great. If you pay for the subscription it’s completely worth it.

So far from perfect. I do have this app as a backup since 2-3 years. It the most frustrating app I have ever downloaded. You have to always troubleshoot the emails I have more than 5 emails using iCloud, Gmail, live, yahoo and private etc.. every day or two I have to re-enter the password once I do that and never solved work for an hour then I have to re-enter again. Spark is way better app, interface and reliable but has less features than this.

Best Email App on iOS. Great email app. I use the search function a lot for referencing old emails, it is really useful compared to all the other email apps I’ve tried. Also, big props to Steve on their support team for helping me out with some technical issues I have. Their support is very responsive and friendly.

I Love the App and they Have Excellent Support. I have used Airmail for several years now, across five devices. It’s an excellent way to communicate and keep all my mail synced. I have not needed support assistance much, but when I have, they have been awesom. The pro version is totally worth it!

I love this app. I was going to give it five stars but I can’t get all my messages read or make it so the little red numbers go away I’ve tried selecting all the messages and marking them all read but when I do that there are more and more popping up on the app saying I have 75,000 messages unread I can only get it down to 2,000 help.

Buggy. The app always shows some incredibly inaccurate number of new messages on my home screen (like 84,357!) and within the app itself, it frequently continues to say there are new messages when in fact there are not. Tech support has been largely unresponsive other than requesting a bunch of screenshots, which I provided with no further response. If they happen to get back to me and get this resolved, I’ll update my review but until then, this is in no way an acceptable replacement for the native iOS mail system.

Great app. I’ve been very pleased with this app, especially the appearance/formatting of messages, compatibility with labels (using FastMail), and integrations (specifically Evernote and Calendar5). I’m struggling to understand the negative reviews. From my perspective $10 annually is easily worth it. I hope the developers will continue to support/improve this app.

Dropping emails … over and over again.. I can’t get help with the numerous headache-inducing problems with this app. I bought it to use an a companion to OmniFocus and it has been a ridiculous purchase so far. I’ve had it numerous months and on numerous occasions I cannot find email threads (not in sent/deleted/inbox/spam). I am tired of it and sick of the fact that I am paying for a service that I can’t get support for. I mean, you could have a baking app that consistently forgets to put sugar in cookie recipes and I’d rate it higher than this.

I have to restart the app frequently. I want to send a bug report. The airmail app for the latest iOS doesn’t work well with the phone’s auto dark and light modes. it might also happen when I have app open for a while but I’m not sure about that. it seems I’m always having to restart the app because the text becomes invisible, which has become very annoying. I love the app otherwise. thanks.

Message counter badge/Stop showing tips!. Within the past couple days, I keep getting bubbles that pop up to inform me of features within the app. I already know how to use the app! I want to turn off these “tips,” but I can’t figure out how. Also, my message counter badge is no longer showing. I have done everything I know to do to get it to show again but to no avail.

Slow and Buggy. I liked this software for a few months then it all went downhill with crashing or exiting out when typing an email, taking forever to load, constant logging in and re-verifying email when none of my other device with other email apps had to. Had to re-sign in every 15 days on ipad and mail app on iPhone would last 6 months before asking. I canceled my pro as it is a unusable software.

Amazing Email App. After trying several different apps over the years I have finally found the one!!! This app is amazing. Handles several email account flawlessly. Verifies the sending email and gives you the chance to cancel sending.

Airmail’s my fave. Every once in a while, I think I should try another email program, but I always come back to Airmail. It’s just works the way I want it to. And I appreciate the prompt tech support. Steven has been particularly helpful.

Don’t waste your money. After researching email apps for iOS, decided to procure Airmail.. Really sorry I did and will request a refund… The Dynamic font that Airmail claims to have does not work, and their FAQ on the website is misleading.. It shows in the screen shots that it’s available, but when you go into Settings>Appearance> Font Size and Preview Lines as instructed, it’s not there.. Without this capability, the fonts are way to small to be efficient… Secondly, although I sent two (2) separate emails, and a DM thru the app itself, have had absolutely no response from the developer.. Buyers/Users beware…

Okay. Slow app. Buggy. Has a lot of trouble with email rendering but is one of the few apps that doesn’t advertise constantly or just waste space with poor design. Unfortunately this app is bloated with broken features and plugins. There needs to be a way to actually disable these features. Support does not care either. I’ve submitted many tickets and they go entirely ignored.

Nope. **Pros: Fast loading, fairly easy to set up after you figure out the clunky UI which looks very similar to the native iOS mail, in colour. **Cons: Never get notifications, emails don't load in real time until I open the app, most things can't be tried out unless you pay for monthly or annual fee. 🧐 The thing is, why would I buy something when I can't try out 85% of the features AND when the most basic feature (notifications, loading emails in real time) don't work already? It smacks of greed and future issues. Ain't nobody got time for dat. Will keep looking for another developer to get the basics of an all inclusive email app on iOS. This one ain't it, either.

Great but composing email is pain.. I was composing email and I pasted some text from website and now that all cr*p spreader. Can’t simply there option to paste as a default non formatted simple text same format as compose mail format rather the origin format which mess everything. Fix this. Also while I was selecting text it was kept on blinking option and these was now at I could select and remove all the formatting. Annoying.

Good app and service. I love this app so I paid for the pro ver. The other day I had a problem so asked a help. I received a support email from Steven. He gave me the answer and problem was solved at once. I can rely in their customer service and so good to manage my emails and good looks. Even I can change the icon!! I have no regret I paid extra money for the pro ver.

Mediocre functionality and Subscription Basrd. Been using this app since it was free but recently the app changed to subscription based. I started using this app cuz it supports POP3 protocol. If you prefer IMAP, then go with Outlook which is better than AirMail. On the iPhone the included email app has steadily improved and regarding functionality, is now superior. If you prefer POP3 protocol, use the iOS included mail app as it works better and there is no subscription required.

Was once great. I want to use, but just don’t trust it anymore. Emails are deleted in Airmail but not in the mailbox itself. Repeated refreshes doesn’t change that. Snoozed emails are stuck in the snooze mail box. You delete a message, say the 2nd message down from the top. It decides to refresh when you are mid-swipe and now that is no longer the same message. Deleting another unsuspecting message. It could be in any account so you have to refresh each box trying to figure out which message you had half deleted. It seems to have its own pool of email addresses and it doesn’t seem to be able to delete old addresses (long deleted from account address books). Sent more than a few emails to these phantom addresses. Like many people email is too Important for these kind of issues. So on to some other app.

I'M OLDER AND I LIKE IT. Just started using Pro and I am not a power user. It was a little confusing to set up the app but I played with it and Steve in Support responded quickly to my questions. For 9.99 a year if I end up not liking it the price is more than fair. The Apple Mail worked but kept messing up my folders which was discouraging. The other mail apps I've tried (all of what Apple Store offers) are way too expensive and involved for a single user who only receives 25 messages a day. I can adjust Air Mail to my leaner needs.

Search Function is Terrible. I often have to dig through old emails to find information and the search function on Airmail is awful. It rarely finds what I’m looking for either by subject, sender, keyword etc. But if I manually dig through hundreds of emails, I can locate it. Tried deleting and reinstalling twice and did not resolved. Technical support is difficult to get ahold of and it’s slow.

Annoying ad. If the very annoying “Get Airmail Pro” button that is stuck on the bottom of my email list didn’t bother me as much as it does, I would have considered signing up due to its reasonable price, but because the developer chose to include such an intrusive feature, I will likely not sign up for Airmail Pro, and look for a different iOS mail option. Otherwise, well done.

Previously have liked this…but now it’s buggy. Previous review would have been largely favorable. Generally Airmail has been rock-solid, and its user interface is quite comfortable. I have some small nits — the most important of which is that the treatment of “labels” and “folders” is confusing — but it’s been great on the iPad and iPhone. BUT … today it’s just completely broken. Using the “new window” button gives me windows that are all black, featureless and empty. Restarting does nothing. When this is fixed, I’ll go back to four stars, but this release is toxic.

Embarrassing editors choice. This is a paid email app. I can’t compose email. I’m unable to click into the subject and enter content. Tech Support responded very quickly, but then couldn’t figure it out and stopped responding. Then they released an update of the app, and it still didn’t fix the issue. And Tech Support still isn’t responding. If it’s a little mom and pop outfit, that’s not OK but I guess it happens, but for it to be endorsed by the Apple App Store, that is disappointing, and makes me want to crusade to get my $10 back. Come on Tim, Quality Control!

IOS Combined With Mac M1 = Bug Success!. I fought for years trying to get the two native apps to simply work. With four different email providers I never achieved 100% operational success on getting both apps to work together! After I got Mac version running I bought the IOS ver. Amazingly, when installed I immediately saw option to import fromiCloud. Perfection… WORTH THE $$ INVESTMENT…

A Work of Function and Art. This app has created the perfect choice to be visually appealing, and also functional to the max. Once you set your preferences, and that will take some time due to the possibilties, you may find that you look forward to opening the app. A really great piece of work that is helping me get things done.

Using for more than 3 years. I have been using Airmail on my Mac and iPhone for a while. It's still my favorite mail app and easiest to manage multiple inboxes. If you have one email, maybe you won't find it as powerful, if you have a work and home email or more, signup and don’t look back.

Need a fix for random crashing. Been a longtime (happy) user of airmail on both macOS and iOS (iPad and iPhone). Recently on iOS (and iPadOS) airmail crashes 1 minute (or so) after launching. Both under iOS 16 and now 17. Delete and reinstall didn’t help. Any hints? I don’t really want to switch apps, but it’s unusable right now. Thanks

Great email app. This is a great email app with great support! There are a lot of settings that you can customize it to your liking. I had an issue where I somehow managed to change the default font on one of my accounts and couldn’t find where to change it back. Did a support chat and Steven got right back to me with the answer I needed. Great app with great support!

Don’t do it 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. Horrible. I’ve been a long time user of airmail. I purchased the full version and then they made that obsolete and started spamming me with fee for the new one. I finally gave in and subscribed because it was a great program and I wanted to support the developers. Bad decision!!! This program is full of bugs and is almost unusable. Customer is horrible. Even when sending videos of issues I’ve had they failed to respond. Ignore what ever reply they give to this review. Trust me don’t do it. Definitely not for the Mac it’s worse then the iOS version.

Good so far…. I believe Airmail is a great app so far. The customizations can be a bit daunting for some though I’d imagine. Once you’re dialed in however, you have an email app that does exactly what you want with every email on every account.

Just one more thing….. I totally love this app… It does everything I want and need. In my opinion, there’s only one thing that needs to be updated… The wide black columns on both sides of the email message. It makes the contents of the message very narrow on an iPhone. Not a terrible thing. But the app would be virtually perfect – in my opinion – if that were fixed.

I love Airmail. I’ve tried lots of different options and have really fallen in love with Airmail. It has lots of options and is very intuitive. I also love that it interfaces with Todoist so seamlessly. That is a huge deal for me. Their support is great, too. Shout out to Steven who helped me fix a small issue I was having in record time. The support team is very responsive which is also a big deal for me. Don’t hesitate to go with Airmail!

Never ending pop up!!. I’ve been using this app for years and have loved it. But recently they’ve changed something about their software so now I get a pop up on my desktop and phone app at least 5 times a day prompting me to subscribe to their Pro plan it’s obnoxious!!! And there is no way to turn it off. I’ve contacted customer service about this twice now, because I thought it might have been a big. I reached out once through email and another through the web chat on their website and they NEVER respond. I hate this app now!!

Promising app marred by unreliable contact sync. I spent about a month using Airmail across my Mac, iPhone, and iPad. For seemingly no reason, the iPadOS version of Airmail refuses to properly sync my gmail contacts. I have tried everything multiple times and it simply won’t bring a random assortment of my contacts into the app! The overall app experience is pretty enjoyable, and I do appreciate the customizable nature of Airmail. But it falls on its face when it comes to, y’know, being able to send email to the people I want to!

Great Support. Thank you Steven for a great support. I had some issues with the way gmail was setup initially and Steven was able to point me in the right direction on how to fix those issues. I’ve been using Airmail for a month now with 3 email accounts on both MacOS and iOS.
