I'd been searching for an app to teach me about meditation for quite a while. I came upon this one after hearing about the book. I was only going to subscribe for a month or two just to learn some basics, but I'm on my 4th or 5th month and I keep discovering new courses I want to try! There are great instructors and so many interesting things to learn. I've noticed a change in myself already. This app is fabulous!
Great 10-20 minute start to my day, either with following a week to two week course or picking one of the 'just meditate' sessions. Also recommend the podcasts.

I have found by using this app it is much easier for me to stay focused and continue to do what makes me 10% happier. Which is spend a few minutes everyday in meditation. I began to use this app daily over a year ago. The app, the courses it offers are so very helpful on many levels. So many of the meditations it offers are so helpful! I also appreciate the coaches that can assist when needed, they are prompt and super helpful. I love this app!!!!
Dan Harris understands the little judgements we pass on ourselves that turn into mindfulness speed bumps. I bought his book awhile back and enjoyed it, but did not start meditating. The app reconnects me with what what I identified with in the book and eases me into meditation by beginning with a short interview conversation. The message is clear that it's alright to be you and think what you think... with awareness, "Simply begin again".
I read reviews of a lot of mindfulness apps and decided to try out three different ones for a week: Headspace, Calm, and 10% Happier. I found them all to be quite good but 10% Happier was a better fit with my personality and had a much larger variety of content. Plus there's something about Dan's unpretentious approach to mindfulness that really appeals to me.
This is amazing and has helped me so much in such a short time. I suffered from panic attacks and meditation has changed my life.
There's essentially no other app where you can get courses and guided meditations from all the top mindfulness teachers in the game as part of the regular content in a meditation app. All the competing apps work just fine in terms of instructing you on how to meditate and allowing you to go through some basic guided meditations, but I find myself using this app as my go-to because the quality of instruction/instructors here is simply unmatched elsewhere.
This meditation app sets itself far above the others due to the world class teachers that will support your practice regardless of your experience. This brings more of a sense of community especially with the option of having a meditation coach on your side.
