Gorgeous, relaxing design. This is an amazing app and is well worth the money! The only improvement I would ask for is for an option to keep the "guide" from growing outside of the screen. I would like to watch it follow my fingertip and I find that part most relaxing. Update: very bummed that the newest update requires an annual fee now to access the additional features after I paid for the app, but at least the original feature is still free…hoping the same won’t happen to Sway…

No option to turn off sound?!. I used to live this simple little app. When I was in a meeting and having trouble focusing it was perfect. It was both calming and focusing. Now it is useless! The only time I can use it is if I’m alone in a quiet room, and then I don’t need it! I bought it because it purports to help anxiety and improve focus, but I can’t use it in situations where that’s needed. Even with the volume turned down on my phone this app broadcasts to everyone around me that I’m using it.

Waste of two perfectly good George’s.. WTAF? Total bs and a waste of money.

Fack app. No good

Good potential, but flawed.. I want to give this more stars because it does cause me an immediate physiological response, calming and almost sedative, but you have zero control to make it work better for you depending on your needs, and it’s disappointing. Here’s what would help: - Add an option in settings to turn the sound off. The music and birds are not relaxing to me (and there are no music or sound options). Yes, I can just mute it, but that’s not the point. - Allow adjustments to the speed of the growth of the blob. This would not decrease the effectiveness, and it often takes me longer to fully relax than the current timeframe gives me. - Let the user pick the color. Some colors are more soothing than others. The way it is the frustration is outweighing the benefits.

Blob with a privacy policy.. For no discernable or stated reason, the app is now unusable with signing in. Why does it require an account? No idea.

Great app... some flaws. This is a great app! Super calming and awesome! However, the screen fills up much too quickly, and it gets boring after that. And, when you go too fast or too slow, the entire thing shrinks back to a dot, and it gets frustrating. I like it it, but it's not completely worth it

This app does what it claims to do but seems unnecessary. You essentially move your finger around the screen, listen to sounds, and eventually close your eyes. The description says this technique was tested using an electroencephalogram which showed that it decreased brain activity however I would think any form of mediation would achieve a similar effect. This app is for people who have a hard time relaxing and meditating without assistance. If you close your eyes and can't seem turn the voice in your head off then this might be able to help you. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend $1.99 on this app. Also, I personally found the bird sounds to be annoying and distracting so it would be nice to have an option to turn that off.

Better than Headspace. App is simple and straightforward. Developer continues making meaningful improvements to the app in response to feedback!

I don’t get it. I’m sure some kind of research went into this app’s development, but I am disappointed that no information is given through the app. I was looking for relaxation, but this app feels like work.

Relaxing App. This app makes it easy to meditate and is super relaxing. Only complaint so far is it needs to be able to go full screen on iPhone X and above. Looking at black bars on top and bottom is aesthetically unpleassing. And with you’re eyes closed if you move your finger over the bars then it stops the session.

One of a kind app – comments on the update. I bought this app a long time ago, and am happy my original features are still here, with the added bonus of new iOS and phone support. None of the core features changed; however there are new options that are “locked” which one cannot remove if not purchased, or not being used. (Your original purchase, or newly-downloaded app/purchase as the case may be, is quite similar to the original Pause app.) Unfortunately, the “Pause Premium” is currently the cost of the original app purchase – but is monthly on a monthly basis. This astronomically increases the price, if one is interested in the advanced metrics, themes, and so on. (Subscriptions do enable developers to devote more time to apps, and not release “new” versions after abandoning the current app listing, as the App Store does not offer upgrade pricing. More on that later.) Feature Requests: Adding an “advanced” screen in settings, which would allow all of the visual elements to be customized, such as removing certain functionality, if one is not using them. Alternatively, they could be “relocated” (in that “advanced” menu, or in general) so that the “Pause Home Screen” remains as singularly-focused as it once was: just place your finger… :) My belief is that “metrics” for meditation has some degree of irony: I feel meditation is about the abandonment of intentionality, thought-movement, and willful doing. Not trying to do so, and trying to not do so. It has no “point,” and is the point. “How can I improve at no-thing?” Its relaxing, because it’s, in simpler terms: a break! If you’re reading that, please consider that question; if you find it funny maybe that’s the answer, it’s ironic, and a bit of a riddle. However, not everyone holds this philosophy: the app authors have told me that some “objective” guidance can help one start on the right track to meditation. If you are interested in the metrics and believe it could help you, and/or like the neat also-included colorful themes, subscribing may help keep the app alive – aiding in funding further development! Though, I feel the price of $4/month is too steep, as the app 1Password is less than that, for example. In my personal opinion, I believe $10/year is fair for the functionality I derive from it. (But the stress relief Is worth more). —— Note: This is a much more thoughtful and revised review, since I received a comment from the app developers who read and said they will consider my original review. Consider this a more thorough, better one. (And I have upgraded this to five stars after thinking about it more.)

New breathe feature is bad. Out of all the available known breathing techniques this is what you’re going with. I have to lay down and put my phone awkwardly on my stomach. And then the audio keeps cutting out every few seconds. This is incredibly annoying and the most frustrating breathing technique I’ve ever tried. You shouldn’t have to lay down to do breathing exercises. I’ll keep using my other breathing apps that aren’t just a gimmick.

Good app, dated on a couple fronts. I find the app really lovely. The initial blob is not something you’re following so much as something you’re leading. The aggregating color helps bring my focus to the session. Once the screen was filled with color, I began exploring the colors. The first time it filled with a gradient from blue to green to gold to orange from bottom to top. I found myself exploring these gradients and the way the direction of my motion changed my perception of them and how my finger obscuring parts of the gradient would make different colors stand out. This was all surprisingly engaging. That said, there are a few things this app really needs to rise to the next level for me: 1) Some sort of audio or haptic feedback for when you’re moving too fast. It instructs you to close your eyes and then puts feedback on screen in text. :\ 2) Update to support the full screen of iPhone X. Seeing black bars is distracting and using the full screen of the X would make the experience much more immersive. 3) An Apple Watch app. This would be a great place to offer feedback while the user’s eyes are closed. 4) Siri support to start a new session without needing to locate the app.

Is this real !!. I just move my finger around screen literally !!! and i can do it without this app !!!!!!!

Awesome For Anxiety. This app is literally a life saver- when I used to have bad panic attacks, this app was one of the few things that reliably calmed me down. I am so grateful!! I highly recommend to anyone who has anxiety and needs an easy way to calm themselves down.

Full Screen is great!. Always enjoyed the app and now with the full screen it’s even better. Thank you for taking the time and effort to update Pause!

Great app!. Update: Love this app, simple, relaxing, and effective.

I use this daily.. This is one of the best and simplest meditation-on-the-go apps I’ve used. I’m hoping for an updated version to take advantage of my iPhone X screen, please! 🤓

Not worth paying for. I don’t get why this costs anything..

0 rating. No use at all 😡

IAP not cool. sick and tired of the rip-off pricing

Don't buy. You follow the blob for one minute then it turns into a solid color instead of spending 2 dollars on this you could just turn off your phone close your eyes and move your finger very slowly on the screen which is the same function this app would have minus the bird sounds I thought I was going to be following the blob for the whole time but I quickly fills the screen I think this app is misleading For only showing screenshots of the blob and not what truly happens for the whole ten mins I feel scammed

Confused. The dot disappears after a couple of minutes. The whole screen is covered so I’m not following anything. Then it tells me to close my eyes. For how long? It never tells me to open them so I peak. Im going too fast is in the screen. How am I supposed to see that with my eyes closed?? And I could just put on some zen music and move my finger across the screen of my phone and it wouldn’t cost me $1.99. Don’t waste your money

Helps Anxiety Attacks. I find this helping as a grounding method before/during anxiety attacks because it forces me to focus on moving my finger with the dot in a precise fashion, so it changes my minds focus.

Contact us. Usually there’s a contact us for clients but this app doesn’t have one yet. I purchased a new sound for my pause app but it’s gone because of the new update installment.

I never write reviews but. This app has seriously stopped some panic attacks from getting worse. I’m off meds so I need natural ways to control them and this app helps! I would suggest waiting for the blue or green color to start the movement because they are much more relaxing to look at.

Relaxing. This is a nice app. I like it best in the beginning when you can see the edges of the circle growing. Once the circle gets too big, it pretty much fills the whole screen with color which isn’t as hypnotic.

Extremely simple - in a good way. A simple and efficient way to reset your mind, for the price of half a cup of coffee. Just don’t expect it to do anything it doesn’t do.

Mindfulness at hand. I've done mindfulness work in a lot of settings, but I don't often have time or the structured environment to really settle down for a long stretch-- but I still need that pause (apt name). Yes, this is very simple, but I appreciate that; it's what I was looking for. If you do want something more complex, then this may not be the best choice. What this is good for (for me): tense moments during the day when I need a breather. The first time I used it, I was frustrated because I felt like the blob expanded too fast, like it was giving too many directions, etc. I realized that was my mind focusing too much on the details of the app and being distracted from mindfulness practice: once I let all that go and let myself fall into the soothing aspects, it worked beautifully. Your degree of satisfaction may vary depending on how much you're willing to let go of focus on design details and drift I to mindfulness practice-- and that is purely an individual preference. It is too bad that there isn't a brief trial period or demo so that users could see which side of the line they fall on before paying. My best advice is to ask yourself whether or not you're typically bothered by function or if you can set that aside. Pro tip: this mindfulness app is great for using at work. It's so unobtrusive that no one will have any idea what you're doing-- if they even notice.

Great. It actually works. I’d like shine haptic feedback to let us know when to stop or what to do next. But fantastic!

Good, with Some Opportunities for Improvement. I have enjoyed using Pause for a while and have been very happy to see the feature set grow with new and very helpful additions. I have been considering subscribing, but have one major complaint: Pause does not seem to offer the opportunity to log mindful minutes in Apple Health. As someone who likes to track that metric passively, I would really like to see that added to a future update.

Not worth it 😒. As others have said, once the blob fills the screen there’s not much else to do. You could just rub your finger on your screen anyway for free... not worth the $1.99

Really like the idea, but it doesn't quite get there. I was expecting a little more from this, given that it's a paid app. I knew it was just "thumb tai chi" and wouldn't have anything exciting to it, but I also didn't expect the "lava lamp" aspect to disappear after a couple of minutes in a session (the bubble grows as you go, eventually growing larger than the screen such that you can't even tell if it's still moving with your touch). I also didn't expect it to be so easy to just forget that you're doing it. It's supposed to be a focus for mindfulness, but really, it's so simple that it would be more effective to hold a very full cup of water and use that as your focus point. Tai chi has forms to give some structure to the controlled movements, this does not. It also has no minimum speed, so you can just creep your finger across the screen and defeat the purpose. If it was free, it'd be a nice app, but for 2-3 bucks, it's not worth it.

Pretty cool. I like this app a lot. I think it pretty much does what is intended. If you really listen and try to be mindful. Good app

Relaxing, lovely little blobs. If you’re having a hard time with stress, falling asleep, etc., I highly recommend the Pause app. I cannot overstate how much I love this app. (I’ve been using it for a few years now.) You basically guide a little blob around the screen - verrry slowwwwly - picking up other gently floating little blobs, as your blob grows and grows and eventually fills the screen. All while gentle, floofly, space age meditation music plays. It sounds weird, but it’s actually a lovely, relaxing experience! If this app ever went away, I’d honestly be bereft. It’s a big part of my relaxation toolkit!

Really really love this app!. I don’t know how it works but it really does relax me every time I use it, puts me to sleep at night. Thank you for making this!

My New Cigarette Break!. I am a very busy person. There are not enough minutes in the day. I have been smoking cigarettes regretfully because until now, I have never found as short of a break as a cigarette gives. Seven minutes. I can't watch a show, cook a snack, catch up on social media, read up on political issues, call my mom--ANYTHING in just seven minutes. It's been a great excuse to smoke cigarettes and still feel like a well rounded person. Pause is exactly what I needed. Something that would help me take healthy breaks in between all the running around I do. On behalf of everyone who loves me, thank you for helping kill a bad habit. My undying gratitude to you and your team. ❤️

Why😩. Why did I buy this? Smh

Finally integrated with health app. Why it took so long?

Wonderful 🙏. PAUSE is a refreshing take on mindfulness/meditation. I love the latest update that sends mindfulness minutes to the Health App 🙏

The one I keep coming back to. I’ve tried my fair share of similar apps. Pause is the one I use consistently. Thank you.

Success. I’ve loved this app till it went silent. Wish I had known the fix was to take my phone off “silent mode.” All is well and I can now enjoy the app again!

I don't like the text. "Too fast" text is distracting. Just give some visual feedback, don't holler at me.

10/10 recommend. I'm definitely a culprit of watching tv past when I should go to sleep. This app gives me something to do so I don't feel restless but also allows me to fall asleep. I also love using it between activities to just take a break and relax myself.

Enjoyable. OK, so here’s the deal. I use this just like those old “ocean wave” toys. (The ones that came in a plastic tube, and were filled with a thick blue liquid and a clear liquid. You tilted them from one end of the tube to the other to make “waves”.) With this app, i don’t close my eyes, and I pay no attention to the “too fast” or “too slow” because I don’t care what the developer had in mind, I just want to play with the colors. It does fill the screen, but, if you move around toward the corners you will see that the circle is still there. Then you can start playing with it, making it bigger and smaller, and moving around. It’s a not perfect app. I’d like a little more control of the size of the circle, and the colors, but I enjoyed it.

Overcharged. I was charged $6.41 for this app. I haven’t used it but overcharging is deceptive.

Like rubbing a smooth stone. Wonderful and mindful moment of clarity. Starts off with a lava-lamp looking blob that you move around the screen, then as you get the hang of it the blob fills the screen and you close your eyes to relax. Really great. Nice to destress for 3-5 minutes when things get overwhelming. As of this writing (Jan 25, 2018), the app has not been updated for iPhone X. Still functions, but it isn’t the full screen. Hopefully they will update it soon!?

Pointless. Can’t believe I paid for this. Absolutely pointless after the screen fills with color. Buy a good meditation app instead.

Very helpful in today’s society. I suffer from a lot of stress and am dealing with blood pressure issues. This app while incredibly simple is also very effective. It gives me a chance to just calm down during the day and bring my heart rate down. I really needed this. Thank you so much.

Almost perfect. There’s no option to mute the sound! This would be perfect for listening to a podcast or music and relaxing, but your ambient music ruins any chance of that. An option to keep the circle on the screen would be good. Also, once the colour fills the screen, moving my finger feels pointless as there is no visual feedback after that. An idea would be to have it automatically start again with another small coloured circle and so on.. Let me emphasise that this app is pretty amazing. It’s super clever. But you’re a 6/10. With a few features you can reach 10/10.

Best Meditation App on Market. Truly best meditation, particularly if you find guided meditation and bodily focus ones more stressful than relaxing.

This app lives in my home row now. The decrease in anxiety I get from using this app is palpable. Highly recommended.

worked well, healthkit would make it perfect. this is the best meditation tool i've tried on iphone. it works really well, and took me deep quicker than i'm used to with simple mindfulness meditation. efficient! it it wrote stats in to healthkit, that could make it easier to stay motivated. then i think it would be perfect for me :)

Does what it says on the box. Beautiful app - great way to immediately calm down and relax. Lovely music, easy to follow. Thank you for creating!

Simple & Effective. Great for short meditations anywhere.

Really helps!. Thanks so much for developing this app. It really help me release stress at work with a quick time out.

It works.. Sceptical at first but after using this 5 times so far, this works. The combination of the sounds, and the constant slow paced finger movement allows a point to focus on, thus providing focus.

an account needed?. pretty much never going to do that. Apple nor you need to know about my usage nor state. deleted

Very relaxing. It’s really satisfying and peaceful beautiful app

Surely this hasn't been user tested. I was hoping to find this relaxing but instead found it aggravating because there was no indication as to why I wasn't able to make the pause time go for 10 minutes. This might be the most frustrating app that I've used.

Lovely. This is such a lovely app. So calming. I use this quite often and it brings me back to a calmness.

Try it, it's pretty damn good. I am finding this app incredibly useful in mindfully focussing on touch, sight and sound rather than the white noise in my brain. The colour changes are wonderful and soothing, I'd love to have slight variations in the music if possible?

Fantastic Application. This is a fantastic application. It works as advertised. And has helped me tremendously. Keep up the good work.

The app that creates more anxiety than it relieves.. I didn’t find this app beneficial, my issues with it being: 1. Any app made for the use of stress relief, meditation etc; should avoid using the colour red. It is not a calming colour, it evokes feelings of anger and or passion. Not a colour I enjoy seeing covering my screen when I am trying to find some inner calm. 2. The instructions say to follow the dot, sounds simple enough except it’s not. It kept instructing me to go slower and when I would it would tell me to go on as if I’d stopped completely? very confusing. 3. When the app is already paid, it’s a bit much to have to purchase other music in app. It’s not the price but the principle.

Good app to calm down. It is somehow relaxing that relieve your stress because it helps you to calm down when close you eyes and listen to peaceful music. But it might be a little boring and getting tired because you need to move your fingers constantly with a slow motion. If you move too fast, the pause stop. It was frustrated at the first time. But perhaps it is because it need every to be slow to really relieve stress. Another thing is that I cannot figure out what difference is the difficulty in the setting made. All in all, follow the instructions and be really really slow, it works.

Cheap sounds and loops. While the app is such a wonderful idea. The sounds and loops sounds cheap and fuzzy when playing without headphones. Sadly it should be much easier to play high-quality sound even without headphones. With such apps as headspace and thunderstorm this app compares very poorly.

$3?. Drag a thumb app.... $3 for this app is a little ridiculous. Beautiful yes, but it's too simple

Excellent. Does what it says, is easy to use. And it really does help you take a 'pause' and calm down or focus. Recommend to anyone with a busy life.

Just what I need. This app is beautifully simple, calming and delightful. I have used it so much for my anxiety and ocd it's not too long and it's relaxing. Perfect find, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Pause. I don’t like how you it always shows the add thing saying pause premium.

Could be better.... I think it would be better if there were at least an option to keep following the circle, rather than going wherever and the dot filling the whole screen anyway (because it's easy to not pay attention to the latter).

Where's the music?. This looks the goods but downloaded WITHOUT background music. The settings' page is no help either!

Love it but iPhone X compatibility?. This app is awesome! It’s very peaceful and it’s overall my go to app for when I am stressful during my student life or workplace. One thing that is really essential for me is for the app to perfectly fit on my iPhone X! Please add this compatibility in order for me to give this app 5 stars!

Simple, yet effective. I was sceptical of this app due to its simplicity—but it really does work nicely. I recommend using it with headphones to really benefit from it.

Instant calm. I really love this app. No matter what is happening, simply opening this app and moving my finger on the screen while watching the gathering energy ball and listening to the beautifully evolving sounds never fails to bring me right into calm focus. Highly recommend.

Amazingly best!. One of a kind, and amazing.

Nice idea. It’s simple and it works, sound + movement + visualization are just perfectly challenged to put you -yeah- in transe. It’s as simple as hypnosis. But I would suggest that the circle doesn’t take all the screen so the eye movements keep being challenged by all the little circle aggregating the main one. And where are explanations about the levels of difficulty? Edit: minus one star because I emailed you with a simple question and you just didn’t replied after a week. Do you guys care?

Simply The Best. This app is amazing never thought that this could be a thing!

What. Did I seriously just pay $3 to move my finger across the screen ‘slowly’. There’s literally nothing else to it

My fav. I love this app! I've used it for years (though I probably don't use it enough) and I've found it consistently calming and visually stunning. The audio is also very effective in clearing the mind. If you're like me and don't respond very well to someone-talking-in-a-smooth-voice meditation, this might just be the app for you. (Pro tip: put the time up to 20 minutes for a deeper and more calming dive.)

Almost perfect. As others have pointed out, audio should play regardless of mute switch, just as alarms do. Notifications or alarms should be blocked while using. App does put you in trance like state when you move the bubble around but when closing your eyes it would be nice to have some audio feedback. Loss of visuals tends to take me out of the experience. Should have been a 4 star review but removed one star for not making improvements over 2 years of feedback. Could be a 5 star app if some quirks were worked out.

I like it.. Yes.

It works. Very simple yet effective technique for practicing mindfulness - love it!

Waste of money. This is a complete rip off. I want my money back

Relaxing. Everytime I use this, I sigh, as it relaxes me instantly. Funny how simply following a circle at slow speed will do that to you.

Beautiful. I for one do not enjoy the traditional guided mediation where a voice guides you, but this works perfectly. It's even helped my anxiety some, I'm sure when I practice this meditation more, it'll help immensely. Suggestions: • Make the bloated blob less blurry • After a certain total time, be able to set your preferred colour

So calming. This is such a good tool to calm the brain when it's twirling. Might not be what everyone needs when anxious, but I found it ideal!

Good app but takes power battery and data. I just bought but I had to delete it. It eats battery power of my 4s and data. If this can be fixed will somebody let it me know to downloaded from the cloud?

I like it too. Relaxing

Not for meditation. I basically buy all apps related to meditation because I practice intensely and appreciate help. This app is a distraction and not a meditation. It's beautiful and can be calming but it doesn't accomplished anything. I don't like when it asks to close my eyes, I get confused on when to open them. It doesn't make sense. Not recommended unless you like to see an evolving blob.

Overhyped beyond reason. Do not buy this app. It's a complete ripoff.

Incredibly boring,. Because I like to be told that I'm dragging my finger too slowly from an application I paid 3 dollars for.

One of a kind. ustwo has done it again. With a scientifically-backed meditation app that does truly relax, focus and inject a small dose of mindfulness into your day. Ingenious, calming and great.

I'm confused. It tells you to love a circle for 10 minutes how is that relaxing its pissing me off

Works for me. Works on me as a shot of endorphines, wife can't stand the app and music keeps breaking. Guess it's a hit-or-miss... I for one am very satisfied.

Incredible. This app is amazing, I have never been able to mediate as I can never shut my brain down to get to that level. This app helps to meditate, it brought me to different places and I saw incredible things. It not only helps you relax it takes your out of reality for a few minutes. I highly recommend. Enjoy

I like it but.... Should be clearer that the sound only works with headphones. I couldn't find this documented anywhere.

Perfect. Almost fell asleep in the first two minutes . Super relaxing and relieving . I'm actually shocked at how well and fast this app worked to relax me and clear my mind . Definitely a great buy with positive results !!!

Great app but lacking iPhoneX support!. Provide iphoneX compatibility please!

Such a great app!. I love this app. It truly is calming. I also appreciate that the developers have been updating it and refining it for literal years, which is nice so I don’t worry about my tool to relax getting abandoned, which has happened with so many other mindfulness apps.

Love it. WOW tried few times. I love it. Very relaxing. Would be nice to have some features so you don’t have to open eyes to check if you are on track.

Has a Lot of Potential. I would love to see the ability to set a timer upfront. Really like the idea behind this and the graphics are beautiful

Good idea. Especially if you started learning about meditation, you have to keep you mind empty by concentrating on breathing, if your mind wanders, you try to bring it back, here you can concentrate on you finger moving, it also really helps. Good app :)

Amazingly effective. I’m astonished at how relaxing this is. I’ve done different mindfulness practices for years and this one immediately kick starts my parasympathetic nervous system,’to the point where I get a wave of drowsiness within a minute and I feel very centered in the present moment.

Great app. The app is truly relaxing, but for some reason the feedback stopped working. Even reset my phone and it’s charged and I’m using a 7.

Relaxation. Felt relaxed after doing this for 5-10 minutes. I believe it's more the music than actually moving your finger on a screen. Use headphones and turn your mind off.

It's good but. I love this app. However, for an app that advocates meditation, it's pretty annoying how the name of the app is so obtrusive with the two middle dots on the side. For god's sake please rename it to just Pause.

Mindful Meditation. Meditation requires you to focus on a repetitive task and Pause does this is a simply and beautifully.

It’s good. Just a bit laggy some frame rate issues Definitely relaxing !

Meditation for ppl who don't meditate. Not a ripoff. It's a tool to help achieve a relaxed state of attentiveness, which is what mindfulness meditation is all about.

Not thrilled or calm. Are red and yellow the best colours to use for "calm" no, they are not! You'd think you would have put some colour research into your studies before you released the app. Red triggers the mind for rage, danger, blood! Nice work guys!!

Life Saver for Anxiety. I have an anxiety problem. Sometimes my mind just can't stop thinking, worrying. This app has been an invaluable tool. It helps me slow down, center myself and stop all of the ruminating. I'd recommend this to anyone who needs help "chilling out." Best $1.99 I've spent in the App Store yet.

Go-to app to calm a busy mind. I have multiple mindfulness apps, but this is the one I go to the most. It is such a simple concept. Mesmerizing enough to bring my focus to the present.

I was doubtful, but it really helps!. I woke up and had a really rough and frustrating morning. I didn't think it would help, but this app calmed me down and helped me focus. Seriously!

Not worth it. Mediocre. I really like the initial blob phase, it's very relaxing, but within a minute the blob has expanded to fill the screen and you're left swiping your finger with your eyes closed with music? I can do the same by turning on a relaxing song and turning off my phone screen. Would appreciate being able to fine tune which sounds I hear, like turning off the birds, and having the blob phase last longer/indefinitely. Not worth the $2.

Good idea but iPhone is not the right medium. Having to keep your finger pressed to a small screen while you’re told you’re going "too fast” or “too slow" is not terribly relaxing. I really like the idea of the blob, but I think an iPhone is too small an interface for this to have it’s intended effects, and the commands are too strict. Contact should not be mandatory. Ultimately you end up staring at your phone like one already does all day, focusing on having to force your finger to remain in contact with a device that’s not exactly a signifier of peacefulness or mindfulness… I felt like I was worshipping a smart phone.

Great for showing people what meditation is and convincing them they need it. The word meditation seems to have acquired a reputation for having to do with mysticism and woo-woo nonsense pseudo-spirituality, which is extremely inaccurate and unfortunate. This app makes you do something that naturally puts you in a calm meditative state, and in doing so shows you how much you benefit from it. For people who are already good at meditating this may not be all that helpful.

Lovely App. Really a lovely app. It does exactly what it says it does; and while I confess I was a little skeptical about the utility of it, the simplicity is a selling point for me. Easy to use; easy to explain to someone else--doesn't really require explanation, with the text on. There's an effective level of customizability as far as duration, etc., without that turning into a distraction. This is something I feel great about using with myself and my therapy clients.

Not quite worth the cost. This app very basic, and there could be some features added to give it more value. For example, I wish there was a setting that could keep the dot from growing into a giant blob that fills the entire screen. I wish there were variations in colors or music. The current version doesn't quite hit the nail on the head as far a relaxing experience for me, although it seems to have someone worth developing.

REALLY works!! Dangerous!. Great app! Downloaded while camping in a state park, used it and mysteriously lost three days of my life. Still looking for a way out. This app has taken me to the edge of reality... All I can remember to do is use the App Store. Where is the 'Play' app? Please find me.

Excellent, when it works.. The first couple times I used this app, I was very impressed--it's surprising how something so deeply simple can be so calming. It's also nice to see people trying new approaches to mindfulness. That said, after the first couple uses, the app seems to have a *really* hard time tracking touches. This could be down to the latest iOS software, but I haven't had trouble with any other apps on my phone. It's ironic that an app designed to promote calmness and peace of mind can be so insanely frustrating when you keep getting spurious "Stopped" errors even as you press down firmly on the screen.

Great, but there could be some better things.. I love this app, but I think there should be a mode where you can move faster just for fun, for people who like fast-moving things instead of slow, and also I think that there should be an option to choose the color you want, because my anxiety was triggered by one of the colors yesterday. It would be really fun to choose your own color, that way there would be no triggers by color, since this app is designed to relieve stress and anxiety, not cause it.

Very relaxing app. I am very satisfied with this app for those of you who dont know what tai chi is its like yoga. This is a great app and i recomend it to anybody that has a short temper, has alot of stress in life or family or even to help you get to sleep. I hope you are as happy as i am!

Very interesting.. The app is pretty good. It really does help you focus on one thing and relieve stress in that regard - the only gripe I have is that one must press fairly hard if you have an otterbox defender case on - but that has nothing to do with the actual app. Taking a star off because $1.99 seems a bit steep for what this app does.

You need this in your life.. My first time trying this I had gotten more relaxed than I have ever been in the past week.

Glad I only spent $0.99 on this.. I'm not seeing the benefit of this. Follow a dot for three seconds and then go where you want. I just kept getting anxious waiting for something else to happen. That music makes it even worse because it always sounds like it's about to pick up and start rocking, but no, it's just always hanging on that note. Actually had the opposite effect on me than it claimed it would have.

Animated wallpapers please. I love The design so much and think it fits so well with iOS that you should include animated wallpapers for 6s/6s+ users. I use a static screen shot of the app as my wallpaper

Great app!. When I am stressed, there isn't really much that a can do to help my mind just slow down and I wasn't thinking this would work, but as soon as it told me to close my eyes I was completely relaxed. Nice job developers!

Pause put me to sleep. The first time I used Pause, I actually dozed off. Smack in the middle of the afternoon... I fell asleep. I can see "Pausing" before I go to bed at night. Perhaps this app has the power to shorten the amount of time it usually takes me to fall asleep. Pause provides my own private moment of Zen.

Amazing experience!. For those new to the app, ignore the 1 or 2 star reviews. They completely miss the concept of the app. May be thinking as if it's some kind of puzzle. The app is gorgeous ad minimalistic, yet highly effective. This is not a puzzle or goal based game, it will not trigger your brain's reward center and that's the whole point. To think and do nothing for few minutes while keeping a focus on one point or activity. It's a must try.

Update to my first review.. Update: After trying it, here's what I think. Pause is definitely a well put together app. Gorgeous views. Calming music. A minute or two after you close your eyes, you are in a trance and everything melts away. A beautiful app. Well done.

Very interesting method. I have to say this is a very well done approach to meditation. I have tried headspace before and it's outrageous to me you have to pay a monthly or yearly subscription to meditate.... Anyways I highly recommend this app to everyone because for only 2 dollars it is really relaxing and a mediation that you'd think wouldn't work but really does.

Only useful for the first minute. When I looked at the screen shots in the app description I thought I would spend the whole 10 minutes following the blob with my finger, which would be very meditative and mind-clearing for me. However after I purchased and used the app I found that the blob only appears for the first minute or so, after that the whole screen is filled with a single colour and the blob is gone, which renders this app completely useless for me because that is no difference from just meditating on my own, then. I too hope there will be different modes (e.g. blob all the way) and different colours to choose from. Until that happens this app is of no use to me.

Interesting app. I've been using this app for about a week and thoroughly enjoy it. As a mindfulness app, it works very well, helping to develop relaxed concentration and awareness. Well worth the reasonable price. My only critique is for the blob to build up slower as you increase the timer. It would be nice to have the option to choose your color/set it to random and to incorporate isochronic tones and binaural beats to the ambient music. If they can do this, I'll come back with a 5 star review and share this app with everyone. Well done, developers.

Wow. It really works if you want it to. I was annoyed the first time I used it because I didn't know what was going to happen when I closed my eyes. Should I keep moving my finger? How will I know when it's over? Once I figured that stuff out I started doing it right and having fun exploring. And relaxing. Clearly I needed this app. Thanks!

Cut my finger. So I was winding down after a long day and was browsing the App Store for a new app when I came across this. At first this app seemed amazing! I was sliding my finger all over the screen with my eyes closed, when suddenly, my screen was wet. I opened my eyes and my screen was covered in blood. Silly me, I forgot about the crack on my phone screen. So now I'm sitting in the ER getting my finger stitched. 0/10 would not download again.

Glad I got it for free. Got this when it was going free for a short period. I'm glad I did not have to pay for this. I was constantly on the fence about whether or not I'd like it and enjoy it. Now I can safely say it's not for me. The sound is kinda relaxing. But the actual interaction is not something I really find nice. It forces you to be slow with your finger which CAN help you relax. But for me it does not do well in that regard. It does relax me some. But hardly. More importantly though, I don't find that this truly leaves me feeling refreshed even after trying a 10 minute session of this. In short I can safely say this app isn't worth the price it asks. Nor is the interaction it offers very nice. It's a good start. But far from an app that I can honestly say is worth the money. Right now I'd say it's best as a free app or $0.99 usd tops.

It really works. This app is amazing. I use it as a sleep aid. My mind will be racing in bed. I'll use the app and within five minutes I feel much more peaceful and calm, and I usually fall right to sleep.

Helpful and useful app. As someone who was diagnosed with anxiety I thought of giving this app a go. Though I was skeptical at first I must say that this app is very helpful. It really teaches you to just stop thinking randomly and focus on the task at hand, slowly moving your finger. Love that you can customize the length of your "pause". The first time was weird but by the 3rd or 4th time you catch on. It's helped me calm my mind and made me learn how to focus on the now. If you keep at it and "pause" on a regular, I am sure this will be beneficial. I plan to be using this on a regular.

Pretty Crazy. Really grabs your attention and let's you focus. Didn't think it would affect me but it did quite quickly. Almost addictive.

Good but not great.. The app actually helps you feel more relaxed. The best part is the initial follow the blob phase because it makes you pay attention to the app. BUT sadly the blob phase should be is too short when it should be longer because it's what actually makes you "pause" and relax. I don't mind having to keep moving my fingers after I close the app but I wish it could also be done without.

Good Start, Incomplete Programming. The nay-sayers do not understand this potentially brilliant, but flawed-and-fixable, program. The software at once encourages the user to watch the blob and close his eyes. This is a common error in programming: being unable to create an interface that is not visual. The static, annoying sound track needs to be swapped with an aural interface. Pause might, for example, be made to play a gently pulsing drone when the pace of moving the finger is correct, but that raises in pitch and turns somewhat grating when the finger moves too fast, and glissandos down to a slower, lower throb when the finger moves too slowly.

Quick Fix. This app compels you to slow down both your thought and actions. The colors it uses are in itself soothing. For those who meditate for stress, this is like a mini session that is not obvious while in public!

Perfect. Beautifully & minimally helped my mind slow down and really relax. Not easy for me to do that. Love this app. Also works great if you have insomnia. Within 3 minutes you'll be out.

Love this simple design. Very effective stress releasing app. It helps you focus back and slow down. I like the option to remove the written cues and that there are different levels and different time settings.

Very relaxing. I've been using this in late mornings and in the afternoon after a lot of driving to pick up grand kids. It definitely eases the tensions and I can focus more clearly. My Grandaughter is in kindergarten and she takes a turn after me. It seems to bring her back to earth from all the activities at school. I read the little messages for her and she keeps it up for over 3 minutes. My opinion is that it really helps to release stress so I can focus on the kids. I just started using it before I go to bed. So far so good. Thanx

This is AMAZING. I tried this for the first time when I couldn't sleep last night... and it totally tripped me out and helped, I was very surprised how calming it was... and now I just tried it on my break at work, and I feel completely refreshed... totally amazing concept, and the music is perfect

Worked better than I expected!. Honestly, this really works for a guy like myself who gets stressed often. This worked so well I couldn't convince my body to get off the couch cause I was in such a calm state. I'll definitely use this app on a regular basis!

Bought it on a whim, improved my life a bit. I've been trying to get into meditation for a while and for some strange reason this app was designed to get me into an awareness state. After a 10 min session I feel like I rested for a long time. It might not be for everyone, but it works for me.

Can't wait. I know that they will update this with different sounds for the 6 pluses etc and hopefully they do it quickly because I know when the birds loop in lol.

Wonderful. I've had problems with anxiety and stress for a good long while, and I didn't think it was possible for me to fix the problem. Ultimately, I discovered that it was because I always felt I had somewhere to be and something to be doing, even if didn't actually have any obligations. Pause offers me an outstanding and simple way to just… let go. Awesome job, ustwo. Awesome job.

Great design/ux. Poor use for meditation. I loved the design and user experience, it's all so beautiful! But using it for meditation (at least in is current form) doesn't do it. Also not enough variety with music and visuals. The folks behind this are wonderful people! Hope to see an outstanding iteration on the app.

I want my money back.. I initially installed and went into the game with the idea of what the app had shown and I was pleased. I enjoyed the blob part but it quickly told me to fast. I stopped and tried slower and it would always either say "Stopped" or "Too Fast" and despite my best efforts the blob would slip away back to nothing everytime within the first 3 mins. Never able to accomplish the full cycle. I don't know if this is a phone issue or the apps but either way I'd like my money back as the app is of no use to me.

Great for relaxing, could use customization. The concept of the app is great - touch the dot, watch the blob, close your eyes and continue moving your finger slowly. It invites you to focus your thoughts on the movement to clear your mind. Could be interesting to integrate 3D Touch so that the pressure being exerted is the same. Would also be nice if it offered color schemes or customization.

Very appealing. Hypnotically very peaceful and soothing. I like that I can vary the time of each session. Perfect for taking 5 minutes during my hectic day of work and just slowing down and recharging my mind.

Drains your battery. I put this on my phone and started to notice my battery was suddenly draining very quickly. Spend half a day in the Apple Store at least twice and reloaded my whole phone to no avail. Didn't even think it could be an app causing the issue. I got bored of it and removed it and immediately stopped having the battery issue.

Disable Sound, and It's Really Very Effective. First, I have sound disabled for this. I suppose soothing music would be fine, but it seems like a distraction. After that, I just keep slowly moving the image, and about 20 or 30 seconds in, I can feel the difference. At 55 seconds, VERY relaxed yet focused. Yes, it's a very minimalist app, it doesn't brush your teeth and comb your hair, but it does what it does quite well. I think the early adopters here could have played around with it more and discovered its potential.

A great app..but... This is a great app, however, it may not work for everyone depending on your propensity to these kinds of stimuli. With that said, for me it worked 100% and I am very pleased. With that said..this app is undeniably incredibly simple..something that could be put together in less than a day simple..so don't purchase if you want your money's worth in an app..because you won't get it..what you will get is a very well put together singular app that has one function and one function only. Only buy if your looking for an aid for relaxation.

Keep it a dot!. I would like this app a whole lot more if the moving blob of color stayed that: a blob. Instead , the color takes over the whole screen so that you're just moving your finger around a plain, albeit colored, screen. I like the visual of the color blob. It's relaxing. But I give up once it takes over.

Does what it says on the box. I just meditated for a full 10 minutes. It was effortless and I feel serene. This never happens to me! Thank you, Pause. Thank you so very much.

I feel uncomfortable saying this but.... I feel has this app makes all breathing and relaxation apps I've ever tried obsolete. Because I've done both taichi and Chigung, it doesn't surprise me that it works. But am surprised that it does work well as it does.
