Please, please bring back the private call option. Sure, Discord is much better in terms of quality, but by far my biggest complaint is the removal of the private mode option while calling people. I deserve a right to privacy, as does everyone else, and it’s too loud for that to be an option. Other people can hear my conversations and it’s very bothersome. I miss having the option between the two. Don’t fix something that isn’t broken please! Otherwise, there’s this constant bug with webcams/ turning on your camera. sometimes it never loads and you have to turn it off and on to get it to work properly. I’ve had to do this up to 3 times maximum to get it to work finally, which is nothing at first, but becomes annoying. Finally, (most likely not 100% discord’s fault, you can ignore this if you want) the connection seems to be getting worse. I used to love discord for the quality of the calls, but several times a week the quality becomes so bad that I have to restart the call several times to understand a sentence the recipient. The most common connection issue is definitely the that audio seems to skip out entirely for a few seconds sometimes. I understand that this could also be due to my own connection and the recipient’s connection, so take this with a grain of salt. Considering that, many times before there has been nothing wrong with our internet and this still happens.

Issues/maybe add-ins. I love using discord, great to talk to friends on here, but i have one problem is that whenever I’m on call with my friends and I’m away from my phone either they wanna call a group chat or someone calls me I don’t hear it saying that this person or group chat name is calling me and I never know until I go to my phone and notice it later that someone call me or I have to manually go back to my phone and join the call, I don’t know if it’s just me but it’s been happening for a while and when I’m not in a call and off of discord and someone calls me I hear it saying that this person is calling me, just not when I’m already in a call, which it did before. Also I think maybe they could add in where we can record our private or group chat calls to like record for memories or something cause you’d always want to remember those moments and I know you can in servers but not in private calls, which I think it should, to record the funny moments going on and not just audio but maybe record when we turn our cams to cause we all be doing funny things and also for security too if someone calls someone in private chat and keep harassing a lot of people and need to record the audio or camera too incase if they do have their camera on and doing something wrong.

Okay, but mobile keeps glitching. I like Discord because the app allowed me to meet many people and get myself involved with different activities but during texting sometimes the “connecting” makes it glitch and then my messages can’t be sent at all. I could easily leave the app and refresh it but it’s a pain when it happens all the time. I’m afraid one day the app would kick me out and all of my text would disappear, my time wasted. Every update I hope this gets fixed but I heard Discord isn’t very efficient in fixing their app compare to their desktop version. I do update it, but it’s no use when the same issue arises over and over again. Please fix it. It used to not do this before and if I knew this was going to happen I wouldn’t have updated the app. But then that would prevent me from other perks like background gifs and each individual server pfp from Nitro. I’m usually on mobile because of how convenient it is to bring around the house and when I go out so I use it more than desktop. So if Discord could please keep up with the updates on the app as much as the desktop, that would be greatly appreciated. Especially this buffering of sending messages, since it’s an annoying hiccup that keeps coming up despite being small. Otherwise, it’s a great app that has me spending on it even though I told myself I would never spend on an app.

Please read this. From the very beginning, I have had numerous problems with this app. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because when it does work, it is phenomenal. When I first got the app, it wouldn’t let me join the server I wanted to and said I was banned (even though I’d never used the app before). I re-downloaded the app recently because I was joining a clan and they required discord. I got the app and I was still logged into my old account, which was glitched, so I created a new one. I actually had to create that account on my browser because the app didn’t even let me do that. I created my account and tried to login on the app, no success. I’ve re-downloaded the app numerous times since then and still, no success logging in. Luckily, my browser still works and I use that to chat with my clan. Unfortunately, even when I turn my phone sideways, I can’t see all of the writing because it shows all the members of the group on the right hand side and it takes up half of the screen. Then, I have to read downwards one letter at a time and I don’t have the patience for that, especially with all of the scrolling it requires. If I could get on the app and not have to worry about that, I would have no complaints, but this simple fix is ruining the entire app for me. If you want people to use your app, they have to be able to create an account, but so far I haven’t had any luck with that.

Follow up to my previous reviews. Just wanted to say I’m sorry for getting all worked up before. I should have done a bit more research and also could have worded my concerns better. While I may be sorry for how I expressed my concerns, I still stand by what I said overall! Although from what I’ve learned recently, it seems you are currently working on new features that help to keep discord as safe as possible, while also giving users the tools to keep themselves safe as well! While I’m still cautious of course, I’m glad you guys are actually trying to help keep the platform safe, and being more transparent about things and giving users the tools to be as safe as well! (That being said, please try to balance safety and privacy. I’m all for making Discord safer and all, but I don’t want either side to overpower the other!) One last thing: I noticed that the app was updated on my iPad, and while nothing seems any different from before the update, I do want to reiterate: please fix any bugs that your users are complaining about! For me personally, I haven’t experienced anything different yet. (Even the UI is pretty much the same on my iPad, and honestly, the whole UI thing isn’t too big of a deal. As long as it’s still ergonomic and easy.) so if you guys fixed everything, then thank you! But if the bugs are still a thing, and they’re something that affects the iPhone app and Desktop app, please fix them!

Amazing but some suggestions. I love discord it’s an amazing community kinda but I’m having some problems relating to my server and my friends server we have a server about winx club and we let people earn different roles based on the shows fairy forms and we also include fanmade forms for both fairy and witches but with the role limit of 250 we might not be able to keep up the server as people expect more roles to come out so they can have fun show how active they are and just have an overall good time trying to speed run or collect these roles while there bored so where trying to make more forms so the same system will go over and over again and people can collect them and even collaborate together to try and get them but like I said before the limit of the roles is getting in the way and I kinda wish there where unlimited roles or even 2500 role slots what ever can help to keep the servers going now ik this feature will probably not get used as much but it will be fun for a small community to have a chance to have fun and be active in the community I know this is probably a lot to ask but please add this feature it can be more booster perks and such but please I really hope this gets added in to the future updates Ty again for reading and have a good day

Near Invaluable. Since I joined my first server, it took some time for me to get used to all the functionality. There were so many things I didn’t know about, and yet that’s one of Discord’s biggest selling points. Most of the time if you want to do something, you can. Mark a server or channel as NSFW or 18+? You can do that. Change your display name for only one, specific server? You can do that too. But for me the most valuable thing about Discord is the sense of community that you feel almost immediately after logging on. Depending on your server choices you’ll almost always have an unread message, meaning there’s almost always something or someone for you to come back to. And if you don’t want to be bothered? Turn off notifications for servers and channels you don’t want to hear from. Not once have I had a security issue or even fear that I would lose personal information. Setting up 2-factor authentication was the easiest security experience I have had in a long time, and if you still have concerns, you won’t be required to even give Discord your phone number, much less your name and other personal info. When I’m not using the in-built messages app on my phone or tablet, Discord is my #1 default

Wonderful app from a member of the Discord Role-play Community!. Honestly, this app is what gets me through a lot of boredom in my day. It’s great, and even on the occasions there’s a problem, the devs tend to fix it rapidly with surprising speed. I use Discord to Role-play a lot, in fact it’s become my favorite pass time for the last year or so. The only thing I kind of wish was a bit better, is the character limit. As a member of a few role-play servers I find myself often constricted by the 2000 character limit, especially considering I tend to write out 10K+ messages in google docs that I then post for characters that I role-play. As I’m sure is obvious, when I do several of these posts an hour the process of copying and pasting fragments of the messages becomes tedious. Not something that I generally hate, because with how wonderful discord servers are, allowing for many channels to be set up in ways that allow role-play servers to set up several settings, the limited characters per message is far outweighed in my preference. But, in a future update, if at all possible, I’m sure I, and the large amount of Novella Role-play members would certainly enjoy and appreciate an extended or unlimited message character limit.

update.. i love discord and i’ve been using it for about 5 years now? there’s never been an issue about it until the newest update with the layer format that we see now. i get it, a lot of people don’t like change and all and you want people to get used to it but it was still simpler and unique in the old layout, now it feels like your just trying to be a carbon copy of other apps and that took the fun out of it. another problem is that discords been ignoring everyone who makes a comment about it. They respond to people on twitter, until you make a complaint. they want their app to be picture perfect whenever they’re just kinda copying things. BUT. overall, aside from all that, it is a great app and i continue to use it and i continue to like it, i have a lot of friends and stuff on there and it’s my one app that’s used almost everyday all day. There’s a few bugs here and there but THANKFULLY discord is really good at fixing them, and they fix it as soon as they can, which does make them a lot better than most apps out there that you use to talk to your friends. All the servers you get to make are pretty neat too, i’ve made a lot of friends. but, that’s just my review, lol.

New update was unnecessary and it hurts my brain. I’ve been using discord for years. I love discord and it’s my main way of messaging. I love the original layout. My only complaint was that there wasn’t a good purple option for nitro themes. And I certainly had no issues with the original mobile version. This new update is trying a bit too hard to look fancy and I really just don’t like it. Not everything has to have round bubble boxes. Changing the channel symbol to be ‘Aa’ instead of ‘#’ is so weird. At least change it to another symbol like ‘-‘. Not letters. The swipe left to reply is so annoying and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to view the online members. It’s way too different, it hurts my head, I don’t like it. It’s so much less streamline now and it’s just- eugh. I know companies rarely revert an update, especially one as large as this, but I really want the old one back. It was easier to look at, it was nice and streamline, it was simple. This is way too bubbly, it’s trying too hard, and it just doesn’t look like discord anymore. Opening discord makes me anxious now and *please* at *least* give us the option to have this version or the old one, I am begging you 🙏 It’s so different and hard on the neurodivergent brain ;-;

User unfriendly / learning curve. Unlike most apps discord has a learning curve that makes it’s hard to find things and unfortunately creates for a forced experience as a student having to use this platform for class to get help as a option because we have no lab. I would not chose this app if it weren’t for my school using it and saying I had to in order to get help. I think the hardest part is just navigating and understanding why it even exists. It’s a platform that lets you share but has limited file size, and is more like a Facebook group because it has limitations on how you can interact within the platform based on who created a page from what I understand. And I dont understand much. All my gaming friends use this for streaming. I really is great for that, im not so sure it’s my favorite thing in the world to have to use to many forms of communication just to get help. I would say make it more user friendly. That’s vague, but it could use some work on the interface, the side bar option is a strange approach. Possibly something that goes across the top of the page, alittle less hard to find things. Also the ability to tag and message more easily findable rather than a secret option you have to right click give it something pre intuitive like a button for messaging and tagging and the options to use @ when tagging teachers rather than finding them in the strand right clicking on their name and picking the option to tag.

Great! Except for one thing…. This app is great! I gave the app a 5 star only so this could be seen, but I truly rate this a 3 But I give it that rating over one thing… THE PHONE NUMBER! Discord randomly asked me to put in my phone number in order to proceed so I did, when I finished that process I went right back over to delete the number because I did not want my number in my account. However when I did press “Remove Phone Number” It took me right back and said “Something’s fishy here, we need your Phone Number” So I realized I had no choice but to keep my Phone Number in my account. So, I put it in once again and then it said “This number can’t be used because it was used recently in another account” I was furious! Discord Devs, you’re not slick, this was basically you guys just saying “We don’t want you to remove your Phone Number, so yeah lol” That’s honestly not cool, you’re forcing people to put in their information they aren’t comfortable putting in! Others have been having this same problem, and some different reason why they don’t want their phone number in their account. This is not cool Discord Devs! Please remove this! Other than that… I love the app!

Keeps crashing and marking unread messages as read.. I like Discord for what it offers, but the iOS app crashes randomly whenever I try to load a picture, gif, song, or other upload someone else posted, and crashes when I try to post pictures quite frequently. I know that a lot of people upload stuff, so the fact that it crashes as often as it does is a major concern for me. Another issue is that the app has decided to randomly mark all messages in random chat channels as read when I open them, even though I’ve still got dozens to read before I reach the end of the string. Or I’ll be reading the messages, and suddenly it marked all messages as read, to include ones that happen while I’m reading, and not even remotely caught up. It happens randomly, so I don’t even know what might be the issue. It might happen to a chat every time I open it, or just once in a while but it’s a bug I want to see gone. Being tagged in a message, and then having that indicator removed randomly is an issue. I don’t always have time to read everything in one sitting, so I want to be assured that I can read it later. It is a major issue when it starts you over at the end of the conversation, and doesn’t save from where you had to leave off. (This is mostly for my admin duties on servers.) I like that I have the ability to take Discord with me, but if I can’t use it half the time, then it’s like I don’t even have it at all.

The new UI is bad. The old UI was easy to navigate. You could actually leave the search menu easily and enter it again. The search menu actually worked. The search menu showed your previous search history and let you simply tap on one search in it to search that same thing again. The old UI had a similar feel to the desktop app. The new UI is difficult to navigate. I find myself having to leave the app and reenter it every time I enter the search menu because I cannot figure out how to leave it otherwise (if there even is a way). It doesn't show your search history anymore, and doesn't show the most recent messages. The desktop app doesn't feel the same as the mobile app anymore, especially since the search menu actually works on desktop. I frequently find myself needing to look back on messages in different channels at the same time by the same person on a server for multiple reasons, including but not limited to, checking an IRL friend of mine's messages to be sure he isn't suicidal because he had a depressive episode last year and stopped going to school for a bit. He's fine now, but I don't want to be forced to use a crappy system that doesn't work to check his discord messages and directly ask him how he's doing when his phone cannot receive my texts or calls if it ever happens again and I don't have access to my laptop.

This discord talent show should be shut down. So these people were making a discord talent show and when my sister was up she was in the middle of talking and they stopped her. They said “alright have a nice day thank you for coming!” And my sister was so sad. We actually arranged at this certain time to go to a talent show together and I was there to support them so they were gonna tell dad jokes together. So like they’re here calling me just upset and embarrassed sad, and I already reported the discord server. I’m livi#5618 reporting the server and can u please shut it down. Me and my friends weren’t the only one experiencing this bad disrespectful behavior, this guy was complaining about how they kicked his friend out and I heard them kick a lot of people out while they were talking. I’m just thinking: give them some time to talk! I reported livi#5618 that’s me, so I hope u the server I reported as well. I was super mad about it and right now I think they’re kicking out more people. Please shut it down and give them a warning because this behavior is not respectful and for the first time I hate one of these talent shows. I think a lot of people are upset about this to and honestly I’m not gonna accept this. I don’t know if they’re gonna make another one just shut it down please. Thank you!

Integrated Phone Calls. Discord is an amazing app that lets you do casual conversations without the loud notifications you would usually get from text messages. It does an amazing job at keeping notifications hidden when you want them to be. But I cannot say the same for calls. Recently, Discord started integrating their calls with actual phone calls. This means that every time I get called on Discord, it goes through to my ringtone. The whole reason I use Discord is to keep my online life separate from my personal life. Although there is a setting that allows you to disable this feature, I still get the ringtone. Whenever I get called on Discord, even though the app is closed, I still get a ringtone. I even have all notifications turned off in my settings. The ringtone only lasts about 2 seconds before it realizes that it should not be there, but it gets pretty annoying, since it forces me to stop whatever i’m doing on my phone. What annoys me the most is that this issue has been fixed before. The previous update had the setting that disabled the integrated phone calls, but it actually did its job, unlike this recent update. I had no calls going through no matter how much I was getting spammed with calls. I thought this problem would be gone forever, but it still managed to find its way back. I’ve resorted to having to delete the app just to avoid the ringtone...again. Please fix this issue.

Where is the customer service. The app itself is a 10/10, the mechanics are great, i’m able to chat with my friends for hours on end, it was overall an incredible time, UNTIL out of the blue “ your account has been suspended for violations against the discord terms and service”,OK what exactly did I do, “we will be investigating your account”. I emailed them, A bot responds “ The reason your account was disabled was because you violated the discord terms in service” OK, BUT WHAT DID I DO?????? “ you violated the terms and service”. Needless to say I lost about 20 friends because I can’t speak to them anymore. In their eyes they see someone who’s completely ignoring their messages, it just won’t let me get in. I tried to log back in, and I had to take the robot verification test eight times before it stopped letting me take the test for “Rate Violations” which basically means you tried getting your password in too many times and now we’re not gonna let you do it anymore. The app itself is great, But be warned, your account might get disabled for no reason what so ever. Discord if you’re reading this (a real person that is) WHY IS MY ACCOUNT DISABLED??????????

If it’s not broken don’t fix it.. I really do not understand why discord even changed their ui but here we are. In all 5 years I have been on discord, over 1826 days, I have not once ever seen anyone complain about how the ui works. It was fine the way it was. In the beta for this you were able to switch back to the original but I don’t see why they removed the option to switch back. It over complicates so many things which were once able to be done in one swipe and a tap. Searching for stuff is absolutely horrific to do, it’s very glitchy sometimes and I had troubles looking up messages from certain people. It used to take about 8 seconds to search something up but now it feels like it takes forever. Checking dm lists is very overwhelming as well, it feels like it’s popping out of the screen and scooping my eyes out with a metal spoon. The color change is an odd choice as well, again, I’ve never once see someone complain about the color of dark mode. I feel like the new dark mode is too dark, especially since there’s a night mode which is basically pitch black. If you want to change the ui, at least give people a break or listen to people’s complaints. When this ui was in beta I did not see one good thing about said from other people. People looked at it for about a minute, complained to someone about how weird it looked, then left it to be forgotten. Save your developer’s time and don’t fix things that aren’t broken.

The latest UI is a step backwards. The new user interface has a weird flow. It used to be that new direct messages would appear at the top of your server list, which means you were able to keep your attention on one section of the app. Now direct messages can only be accessed from a separate part of the app that’s accessed from the footer. Now you have to keep your attention not only on the server list to monitor for new activity, but also on the footer, and the footer doesn’t tell you who you’ve received messages from in the same way the old system did (where profile pictures would populate at the top of the server list). Now one must navigate into the direct messages directory in order to see who they’ve received messages from, which takes you out of the familiar Discord interface. You cannot access the server sidebar from here. Before you were able to easily return to the server listing by swiping your direct message to the right, just as you would a server channel. Now swiping away a message reveals the direct messages listing. Now one must take the additional step of tapping on the servers icon in the footer. This may not sound so bad, but it really breaks the seamless flow prior versions of the app had, not only because of the additional inputs, but because of the added spatial and relational complexity. Discord’s UI used to give me the sense that I was in one place, choosing to move things in and out of that place. Now it feels like two places.

overwhelming and disorienting new layout. My main issue is the new layout. Everything is spread out and hidden away in other tabs and buttons making it very overwhelming. Discord is trying to hard to be like other social platforms when it doesn't need to. The old layout worked wonderfully with this new one just being a ripoff of imessages. It might work for other sites but for discord it is completely unnecessary. The size everything takes up is far more for no additional amount of information. The new update makes finding members annoying. Before you could just swipe left and see all the members of a group chat or server. Now it's hidden away at the top which is unnecessary. Not only is it an useless change but the members list is way bigger. This makes it look overwhelming searching for people. The main feature that this update takes away from is the search button. Before it was clear and easy to search for whatever you needed. Now it is more disorganized and unnecessary. My main issue is that you can not search in the entire server anymore and is limited to one channel at a time. This is a major flaw that takes away from the fluidity of the search feature. For servers with many channels, which is most of them, it is a pain to find what you were looking for. It would be gladly appreciated if you would reconsider these flaws to optimize our user experience on discord to make it a better app.

Downgraded. I love Discord, I’ve used it for years with the same layout, automatic 5 stars with that, without fail I would be on Discord 24/7 chatting and calling friends, having fun, chilling by myself, making servers for fun and. I had a organized system and everything worked perfectly, then these new updates came out changing the layout, and whole idea of Discord. My whole organization system became ruined. I try to swipe to get to the right side where everyone’s profiles and tabs for pinned messages are supposed to be but instead I start replying to a message. My friend tried calling me and I didn’t get any notification and now no matter how much/many times i go in and out of their chat the dumb red notification won’t go away. I’m also not a big fan of how the calls now look, I think the only two things I like about Discord now is the logo and how the only thing that didn’t completely change was the now known as the “server” tab with how all the servers are lined up on the side. The anonymity likability of it is gone. The calming swiping side to side ability, gone. The organization with the pinning ability, gone. I love Discord and have been using it as my main communication/organization platform but this layout has made me revolted by how it works and honestly I don’t think I will be using it as often as I had in the past.

Discord’s Doom. Discord was fine before, I don’t know why they bothered to take this unnecessary action. Before I never got bots/spammers somehow adding my account even though there’s no suggestions on adding accounts like Snapchat for example. Even so I still shouldn’t even be getting added by said bots/spammers because there’s this safety thing they make you do to verify if you’re not a bot which is completely useless I’m already seeing because even apparently bots can bypass it. The main issue is that I can’t even use my Discord account because they are forcing me to “change” my email that I didn’t even put in because I registered with my phone number, and they’re saying that my email is somehow already registered when I’m putting in my email and password to verify. I don’t remember registering in with my email and I’m pretty sure I never did. Also I don’t understand why/how putting in my email (personal information) on my Discord account is going to protect me from bots/spammers. I read on why/how but it still didn’t make any sense. In the old version I never put in my email like I said before and I didn’t get any bots/spammers like I said before as well. They made this app absolutely awful and I recommend not downloading this app unless you want to share your personal information to the world because that’s apparently what they want you to do and that’s their definition of “protection”. Developers, you have a lot of fixing and/or explaining to do.

AAAA I LOVE DISCORD! j one thing tho.. 😕. tbh discord is j great. i use it ALL the time and it’s a really awesome app. i would TOTALLY recommend it for communicating with friends, family, or for school purposes bc of how great and easy it is to use. i’m pretty sure i have been on discord for 8 months now and so far i haven’t had any problems. well, maybe this teeny tiny bit of a problem.. i wouldn't mark off a star for it though, it’s not that big of a deal. anyways it was j abt when u “report” someone i’m not sure if it actually reports them? if i could j have some clarification on that it would be very well appreciated! i’ve j brought this up bc some ppl from servers im in, or friends of my friends, would always msg me or smt and it would always be smt negative and i didn’t like it very much. so i reported them but it didn’t even give me a clarification on if my report went through or not. and it didn’t even give me a choice to tell them what i was reporting about. like i said, i’m not going to take a star off my review because i really don’t see it as a big deal, but if this tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny little ‘problem’ could be fixed, it would definitely satisfy me! OVERALL THOUGH, discord is just freaking awesome. i love it sm. thank you for such a wonderful app!

The new discord update is gross. I’ve been using discord for almost a year now and it was chill and fun to use which it still is. I just can’t get over the new font they are using and the way they highlight pings now it’s so gross, and the logo is fine and all but the color is kinda wonky like it just doesn’t fit the theme for discord as well as the other one did. And I get it though they’re trying to make it marketable to tons of other groups (which it already was) but really what’s so wrong with the app being known for gaming? Come on. I still use the app cause it’s my main way of communicating and gaming with my friends but it’s just really throwing me off now. Before the update I would’ve given it a 4-4.5 cause there are quite a bit bugs and I think it’s annoying I can’t send my friends videos and pictures just because it’s a small bit too big, and if I wanted to send them videos of my dogs being cute I’d have to pay 5-14 bucks (because of tax) to do so, but that isn’t too bad. Anyway now because of the annoying fonts and all the bad things I’ve been hearing coming from the new update, I’m giving it a 2 but it’s an in general great app if you wanna meet to new people online and communicate with your friends. I believe this app has a place for EVERYONE, disboard is a common and easy place to find a server for you.

Good, but message requests is aggravating. Overall, discord is a good app to keep in touch with my friends, especially as we’ve stopped playing the games we’ve met in or fallen off other social media sites! It’s an alright platform for us F2P folks since none of us particularly NEED extra emojis and it’s really just for communication (although I’ll admit the video length threshold is a little low, I think most people consider a “short” video to be about Vine length) But this “message requests” thing is AWFUL. I was told it was a newer thing, but I’d like to be able to set my messages to just “if you’re in my servers you’re probably messaging me for a reason, approved automatically”. I’m sure you’re trying to protect me but I can block anyone being annoying pretty easily. Or, at the very least, let the message requests NOTIFY me I HAVE a request. The pm icon doesn’t pop up an alert at ALL and there’s no request push notification either. It’s a pretty good way to miss someone in your server messaging you about time-sensitive stuff and it’s really not helpful if you’re the unlikely-to-message-first-unless-they-do introvert sort :( If there could be a fix on the notifications for it, or a setting that bypasses it, that would be great!

Bugs and Glitches. Discord is great overall but ever since the recent last 3 updates, there has been some bugs and glitches on mobile that needs to be fixed. The first bug I found is getting out of control now. When I am creating my own server and trying to edit a channel, the channel would freeze on my phone and I can’t do anything. I tried refreshing the app numerous of times but nothing happened. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it and it worked, until I go back into my own server with the same channel and it freezes again. I even tried updating my phone and nothing happened. Please fix this bug. It’s so minor and can be so fixable. The other bug or glitch is that, it seems like it got changed. When I am trying to make a certain role not see a certain channel while having a specific role that allows you to see it. I moved the certain role above the specific role and apparently the certain role can still see the channel that only the specific role can. I liked it how it was where the certain role was above the specific role and the certain role can’t see the channel that the specific role could. I mean this is up to you to decide whether or not you want to change it back but I am not fully satisfied with this.

Amazing, with several missing opportunities. Discord is a great app, as I myself have been using it since 2018, and it hasn't given me any problems. However, there are some things I wish Discord had that it currently doesn't. Here's some I could think of: -In servers it would be great if you could mention a role without the person(s) that have that role being notified (maybe a different prefix, like $). -If, for example, I want to ping people with a certain assortment of roles, such as Moderators that are online at the moment, or Friends that are also Server Boosters. Some way to combine role pings to capture the attention of a more precise bracket of people would be nice. -I'm in so many servers that it's extremely difficult to navigate through each of them, even with folders. I really think there should be an option to lower the size of server icons, and a new folder functionality, instead of appearing on the same row as others, servers in open folders would travel to the right of other servers, giving space to be able to see every server and navigate with ease -Slightly similar to the previous point, but there should be an option to make channel tabs smaller. Same reason.

Severely disappointed with Discord Support. My account was hacked and during the two days it was hacked, three Nitro gifted subs were purchased by the hacker. Discord Support helped me get my account back, but even though I mentioned the false purchases when I explained in detail the whole situation, they didn’t pay any mind to that part at all or offer any solution to my financial dilemma. I didn’t know what to do, so I went to my bank provider and decided to get my money back that way. This was apparently against the Terms and Conditions, so they disabled my account. I tried to appeal by explaining the situation again, but all I got was a cookie cutter response that denied my appeal. I tried one more time; this time I offered to undo the chargebacks because the Discord email that informed me of my account being disabled said I could. I just wanted my account back even if it meant giving back money that was wrongfully taken from me in the first place. All I got was the exact same cookie cutter response denying my appeal. Are bots running Discord Support? There seems to be zero empathy and zero reading of anything I said. From my POV, I’m getting punished by Discord for trying to get my money back that was stolen from me while using Discord. Although, I didn’t go about getting my money back the “right” way, this still doesn’t sit right with me at all. Now I lose my account of 5+ years. What a joke.

Absolutely awful new mobile layout. Look, I get that Discord is known to get criticized for every new feature they add before people eventually move on because they realize it wasn't that bad (think back to when when they made the logo symmetrical or when they changed the font). But this is the first time in my three years of using Discord that I've genuinely felt that an update made me want to uninstall the app. Yesterday I'd have rated the app 5 stars, and today I rate it a 2. The app went from great to clunky, messy, and less usable overnight, which makes me wonder: How? How is this even slightly necessary for improving user experience? I have many complaints, but my biggest issue is that the swiping doesn't make sense anymore. You can swipe right in DMs, but you can't swipe left to make it go back. The members list is now hidden in the oddest place, the message previews in DMs make the layout look incredibly busy, you can no longer open the list of your friends to see people's statuses and who's online, and you can only use the search function to find things in one channel at a time. It's objectively not a good update, and you'll just end up losing current users like myself. I don't see why this layout couldn't have remained an optional feature like it used to be. The only thing I maybe enjoy about the change is the color, athough that alone is certainly not enough to make this a good update.

Big problems for motion sensitivity.. I use discord on mobile because it's often inconvenient to get to a PC, and while it is adequate for sending a message in a pinch; there are some meaningful shortcomings. I am someone who is sensitive to things moving on my phone screen outside my control. I needs gifs to not autoplay, and if the screen jumps around at random, it is stressful, almost painful. On gifs, fortunately discord delivers. Unfortunately, it does so by disabling gifs entirely. Even when I tap on a gif to look at it, it still doesn't play 90% of the time, so in exchange for having a useable client, I can't see the contents of a gif, even when I want to. That's problem number one. The big issue comes up when I want to read a message in a channel in which users are actively posting. Every time a message comes in, my scroll position in the channel moves wildly, up or down, seemingly at random. It makes it literally impossible to read anything in a channel, unless the channel has no current activity. This to me is unacceptable. At no point should I be interrupted from reading something by the text suddenly moving, let alone moving entire page-lengths off of the screen in an unpredictable direction. This has been an issue for years, and somehow it has never been addressed. Gives the impression that the mobile client, and accessibility, are not priorities.

New UI Update. I absolutely hate that the messages like group chats and DMs are in a different tab than servers now. there was absolutely nothing broken about the way that it was laid out and displayed before, so there's no reason to "fix" it!! I also am sorely missing the ability to swipe left to look at all members of a server, the having to click on the top feels clunky and visually unpleasant. I hate being taken to an entirely different screen just to see who's online! it's an entirely unnecessary extra step that helps no one. the idea of "prioritizing messaging" by putting private messages and group chats in a tab seperate from servers is completely asinine when discord as a whole is a messaging service in and of itself! also, it's a small aesthetic change but rounding the corners of the servers when swiping to look at the servers at the side is unnecessary and unwelcome and overall incredibly displeasing to look at. speaking of swiping, making it so swiping left creates a reply to a message is the most unnecessary, confusing, and almost MALICIOUS feeling change yet, especially when swiping left had an entirely different function before. please listen to your user base and stop making so many changes that absolutely NO ONE is actually asking for and actively make the user experience worse. you have a good app, it is not broken, stop trying to fix things that don't need to be changed because you've continually only made things worse.

The new UI update ruins this app. I’ve used discord since the start of 2018 and I’ve gone through all the ups and downs of this platform, but throughout the entire course of using it, this is the first time I’m considering completely abandoning it and getting all my friends to make the switch to something like Guilded. The UI has changed almost entirely, the backdrop color changed from a easy on the eyes grey to an extremely harsh dark blue. You can no longer swipe left to see the members list, now you must press on the search icon (for God knows why??) to see it and then it seems there’s no way to exit that screen other than jumping to a message someone sent or that was pinned. Instead, swiping left now replies to messages, which is very unnecessary as you can just hold tap on a message and press reply—very little of the time do I actually need to reply to a message to even need a quicker action for it, as most conversations flow naturally with very few uses of the reply feature. The friends list has been moved completely, which isn’t the worst thing, but it’s just more inconvenient and unnecessary. I haven’t tried streaming or voice calls yet since this change, but I imagine they’ve been messed with as well. Frankly, the app just makes me feel incredibly claustrophobic now and it’s so infuriating to use now. If they reverse the UI update, I will bump this up to 5 stars, as the app has been great until now.

New Mobile layout. I get your trying to make the new Discord layout more convenient for everyone, but some people find the old layout more convenient than this one. This update isn't like your other discord updates that have minor fixes and upgrades, this completely revamped how things work on discord. Layout is very important for any app company to have it efficient and convenient for users. I know this is what you tried to do but it really isnt doing well. The discord layout has been the same for a very ling time and a sudden change like this makes it seem very clunky and annoying. I hate how all the notifications and everything are so up front and big as well as the buttons. The new layout completely ruins the uniqueness that many people liked about the old Discord layout. The new layout looks a lot like other social media layouts and is incredibly off putting as the old discord layout was very iconic. If you were going to make such a sudden change like this at least give us the opportunity to switch layouts like you had in a previous version. Another thing worth noting would be when you slide to the side to see who in a server is online and what roles they have, that was before but now you have to slide up which is way less convenient. Overall all Im saying is that removing the option to switch between the layouts seems like an inconvenience to many people as this new layout is incredibly crowded and clunky.

Go back to the old style then having large words in your face.. In short, it's ugly af, and feels incredibly intrusive. The previous ui design was much nicer to look at, and much less in the way and in your face. Please remove this asap, or change it to something more akin to the previous design. I'm seeing a lot of other people expressing dislike of it, so I hope that will help convince you to change it back. On a side note: I'm someone who really needs empty space when using things. Not too long ago, Twitter completely updated their website, and in doing so removed a significant amount of empty space which was previously present. Until a plugin was developed to set it back to the previous design, I actually could not use the website. Something similar happened recently with Discord to a lesser extent, specifically with the friends tab. The recent addition of the "active now" section removed a lot of the empty space which was previously present, and as a result I can rarely use that tab without needing to look away or click something else immediately. This new update again takes away more empty space with the new ui changes, albeit to a notably lesser extent, but it's enough for it to instill at least some discomfort for me while using Discord.

New Update. I’ve had discord for almost a year now, this update is the worst update since I’ve gotten discord! It’s ugly, it’s sm harder to see users in servers I’m in, when I tried to look for pinned messages it’s glitched and they don’t show up, it’s really confusing and just excess buttons everywhere. Discord lost it’s uniqueness! It looks like every other chat app now and trust me that’s not a good thing! Plus I am someone who makes and has made many servers before and the way you took away the feature to add channels without going into server settings is confusing and terrible. And DON’T get me started on the new role icons they look lazy! Also as a server creator, you still haven’t added the feature on mobile how to view the server from different roles and I don’t have my computer around me at all times of the day and this has caused me many issues when I release my servers and stuff. Also my discord is automatically going to midnight theme which is too dark for me and it won’t change to dark. Lastly I don’t know if this is a glitch or not but, the way it now reorganizes my servers without me doing anything in them! I will chat in a server and it’ll automatically move to the top and some servers I really don’t talk in much and I don’t want them on the top! Listen I am a very active user, I basically am on discord 24/7, this is my main chat app to connect me, my friends, and my community and idk what to really do anymore as it’s now very difficult to use the app!

Great Website!. Discord has been incredible for me, I have been able to talk to and call friends, connect with new people, and it all has been very private and secure. At first, I was a little bit superstitious when it came to discord. It did seem like a very open messaging service, leading to incidents with cyber bullies/child predators. Since getting discord, all of these worries have basically vanished. It is a high quality messaging and calling service (especially for large groups), and it can also serve as a way to meet new people. In my experience, I have stayed on private servers and direct messages with my friends, but I have still gotten a ton of usage out of the app. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a nice voice calling or messaging service. I would also like to mention to any parents who are nervous to allow their kids to use this to at least give it a chance. If your child stays in groups with just his friends, they will be absolutely safe, and if they do go into a public server, I have found that people are generally very nice. Plus, if you do get into a situation that is uncomfortable, you can simply leave the group or block the caller. I hope this helps!

Great app except for a couple of issues. I’ve been using Discord for quite a while now and overall it’s a really good app. However, although it’s mostly accessible with screen readers it needs some improvements. For one, when a person sends a text even if they wind down a couple of times it’ll still read the text as one complete block. This is a problem because for super long posts it is really hard to read the whole thing. The second problem is that when using voiceover if you try to move the cursor automatically jumps to the button to exit the channel you are in. For me at least, this can make it very difficult to scroll through the channels messages and it’ll do this while I’m trying to write a message as well. Again, overall really good app and I’m so glad that I downloaded it because it has helped me connect with all of my friends. Edits. Thank you so much discord for fixing see bug with the screen readers. I guess that the paragraph thing is a little bit harder to do so I’m not even going to complain about that. If you can fix it eventually great, if not that’s completely fine and what you’ve done so far with fixing the buttons has been great. Thank you so much for creating this app that’s provided me with so many great experiences.

Good and all, but one small issue. Not quite sure if this is just a “my phone” thing, or a “recent discord update” thing, but I noticed after some time that images I try to send from my gallery in the app directly will not show up with a preview like they do now. Instead, it’ll show up as a file being sent, as in like, a webp-esq file where you can’t see it and have to open it externally. Except for the fact that they just DON’T send. At all. As an artist, this is very problematic for me, but I found a workaround where I just copy images from my gallery app to paste them on discord, which sends them normally and without issue. While inconvenient, it’s all I can do until there’s a future update where it could get fixed. On top of that there’s my role icons disappearing every time I send a message, the random freezing often whenever I open the servers or members tab, and the occasional crashing. I do wish discord calls themselves weren’t treated like phone calls where my screen darkens and the sound quality is terrible, but I’m not sure how much can be done about that, or if it’s just something iOS does. Either way, those are really all I have to complain about. Otherwise, the app is great. Cheers to anyone at discord who reads this and gets back to me about it :)

A Genuinely Outstanding Social Networking.. Discord is A Genuinely outstanding social network. It’s great for being able to stay in touch with buddies from school, Family, work etc. You can join and create servers with as many people as you wish. Servers can be very useful for a group of 11+ people. They can be themed for School, Work, Business, Game updates, and even just having fun and talking with your pals. Your able to make group chats with up to 10 people in them. And if your worried about other people friending you, it’s no problem unless you have a user name that is a popular funny joke with a predictable number at the end. Discord makes it so you have a four digit number that is uniquely yours to your account, so you don’t have to worry about random people friending you. There does need to be work done, maybe have it so if it’s a server that is for kids make that a option to tag out or remove any crass or abrasive language although I can see why it’s not necessary since the app is rated 17+. If you want a secure, comfortable Social app, this is the one for you. And there is also a dark mode which makes it very easy on the eyes.

2 people. Discord is the best texting app for me but there is only 2 people which are bad because one of them “travisscartlover” did a very traumatic thing. When she called me she shared her screen so I joined because I didn’t know what it was but then it was that inappropriate website and she is calling me uncomfortable to her when I did nothing. I feel like I want her account deleted because she is making me super uncomfortable and all she talks about is inappropriate stuff so I don’t want her account to be on discord. Another one of my “friend” “maru9213”which I don’t think we are anymore they always bully me and made me feel the 3rd person and like she lied about her gender because she is calling herself “he/him or they/them” I feel like she can’t be a boy and don’t have a gender because that doesn’t make sense unless she is a tomboy but I didn’t know where to report the bullying and stuff but she had 4 other accounts and she said people banned her because of like something she did in a couple of servers. Also they are both not the required age for this app. I am not comfortable with her and my other friend so is it okay if you can delete both of their accounts? Please and thank you!

Bugs need some work. I use discord everyday, and I believe discord is one of the best apps to text, talk, and video call on. But does not mean there aren’t a lot of bugs, I have no clue why but sometimes when I’m on voice chat with my friends I try to show them some sound on another device, and they can never hear it? I turn off the Krisp option each time when I’m on vc because it will sometimes block my voice if I talk to quiet. But discord has no problem showing sounds that come from outside my apartment that my friend can hear (planes, cars, etc.) I hope this feature can be fixed because I do not like any other apps to voice chat. Another problem I’ve had is that sometimes features on the Chrome or safari version are not on the app? It’s a major inconvenience to turn off automatic emojis I had to log into discord on chrome, make this option on the app version. There are a lot of small bugs that happen on this app, like sometimes when I change tabs and go back to discord while on vc the app freezes to the point I have to close it and open it again. Messages also will get stuck not sending, I’m not blaming my Wi-Fi for that because I have good Wi-Fi connection and I have data so this is 100% a discord problem. But these small bugs add up and are super annoying and frustrating. I just ask the discord team to fix the app to be better.

New UI. The new Discord UI. Personally, I find it really confusing and hard to navigate. It seems like they've tried to cram too much information onto one screen and it just ends up being overwhelming. Plus, I've noticed a bunch of glitches and bugs since the update. It's frustrating because Discord used to be so simple and intuitive, and now it feels like I have to relearn how to use it. I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the recent changes to Discord's UI. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for progress and improvement, but it feels like the new design is a bit cluttered and confusing. It's harder to navigate and find the features I need, and some of the changes seem unnecessary. I appreciate that Discord is trying to stay current and innovative, but sometimes simplicity is key. I'm hoping that they'll listen to user feedback and make some adjustments to the UI in the future. That being said, I still think Discord is an incredibly useful and valuable platform for communication and collaboration. The ability to create and join servers, voice and video chat with friends and colleagues, and share files and links is unparalleled. I just wish that the UI was a bit more user-friendly and intuitive, especially for newer users who may find it overwhelming. Overall, I think Discord is a fantastic tool, and I hope that they continue to make improvements to the UI to make it even better.

No customer service. I will start this review by saying that I haven’t actually been able to use discord. I downloaded the app for a school class but when prompted to verify my number, it wouldn’t accept it because it was linked with another account. So, I went through the process of trying to find an account I had created years prior. In the meantime I contacted support and got a very quick robot response telling me to do exactly what I had just done. I found the old accounts and deleted them. However, that wasn’t enough. Apparently when you press delete on an account it takes an additional 14 days before discord actually deletes it. A day later, support for back to me and told me that I needed to send a copy of the error message I was receiving (even though I had already stated it in the last email). So I did. And a day later I still have received no response. I had to sort this issue out myself and eventually found that simply deleting the account wouldn’t remove the phone number associated with it. Finally to remove a phone number from an account I had to add ANOTHER email in the process - further convoluting the account issue. And finally, after 20 to 30 “account verifications”, 4 password resets, zero help from discord- I had access to a discord account. A whole 3 days later. All of this could’ve been resolved if I had access to someone at discord who knew a lick about user accounts and how to immediately delete them.

The New Update Has Me Frustrated.. I love Discord and all I’m on it like alot, but I don’t think I will be anymore, and it’s all because of the new update. The update is so confusing, complicated, and hard to navigate stuff. The old layout was so much simpler. I don’t even know how to edit, or delete channels anymore. I can’t even swipe right to see if members are online or offline. There was absolutely no tutorial on how this new layout works. This update is so weird. I really want the old layout back. This is the problem, you knew NOBODY would like the update that’s why so many people changed to the old one in settings, that’s why you took the option off. The layout isn’t even that good? It doesn’t help at ALL. It just makes stuff harder to do. I was so used to the old layout now everything’s so different I don’t even know what to do anymore. Please, just please. Bring the old layout back or at least give us an option to change it again. It’s so complicated and is not helpful. There are multiple people like me who hate this update. Please give us an option to change the layout again. I know multiple people gave you guy’s feedback about the layout.

Yeah okay uhm what. Usually Discord is great, I’ve had it for several years and it’s pretty great for most things. But this new mobile app style update has got me all messed up. It looks bulky and gross, it seems that discord has fallen victim to the Facebook effect where every (mobile) app tries to look the same. It has its pros but to be blunt it’s not good looking and the interface is hard to use especially with the separate tabs for severs and messages. All of the available options being in separate places makes it feel very bulky and the way calls look now is just honestly bad and the message options/information interface is even worse. I appreciate they are trying to change and the time it must have taken but it’s just outright bad. Discord, like all apps, need bug fixes and such like the status’ being weird, but the actual user interface and styling of the app was simple and easy to use so why it’s been changed is beyond me. (TLDR: new mobile update is bad, otherwise the app has been (/was) great and easy to use. Would be 5 stars if the new mobile update did not exist.) -as someone who uses Discord daily and has used Discord for YEARS to form and keep some of the best and strongest relationships (relationships included friendships guys) I’ve ever made/had. I love discord but please help. I have been having discord for two years and this thing that’s happening I’m starting to not like it so lately my profile has been becoming pixelated and every time I change it to my friends profile who don’t have a pixelated it becomes pixelated for me I don’t know what’s going on but I definitely want this problem to be fixed because I look so weird with the pixelated pfp idk what’s up with this but please fix it I do not like my profile being pixelated every time I change my profile to my friends it always comes out pixelated for me but not pixelated for though I even went on PC and I tried on my phone and it still makes it pixelated I don’t know what’s up but discord I think your update is making profiles pixelated because my friends profile is pixelated too and I don’t know what’s going on with the profiles but please fix it I don’t know if y’all are making a new update for Discord and it’s hacking peoples profiles I don’t know because everyone profile is pixelated to it’s not only me and my friends it’s a lot of people read it is talking about this too so I don’t really know what to do please know that I want this to not be some type of hack because this happened on other social media‘s and I hope this is not some type of hack and I hope it’s kind of like a update y’all are trying to do right now but please fix it I hope that this is that some type of hack please and thank you!!

Disabled My Account Because I canceled my nitro subscription!. I’ve used discord for a very long time, for 5 years and I really enjoyed using it until I my account had gotten disabled because I decided to cancel my 3 month free nitro subscription. I had canceled because I didn’t really have a need for the subscription. I was rarely on and never really used the perks of their nitro. I had canceled my subscription on September 22nd 2021 and didn’t think they were gonna charge me, but I had checked my bank account to find out they did. I waited a few days thinking maybe it was on an accident and they’ll refund me my money but I had seen they didn’t. On September 25th I had put the request for a refund and got approved. As soon as that happened my account was immediately disabled and I wasn’t able to access it anymore. I contacted discord support to see what the reason why and explained what had happened but they insisted that I had broke their terms of service because I didn’t let them charge me for a subscription I had canceled. I had some of my best friends on there and was in a lot of really cool communities and it’s an utter shame that I will never be able to communicate with them again because of their poor customer service and api. Don’t use discord, they’ll disable and ban your account because they have bad api and customer service won’t listen to what you have to say because they feel like it superior to you.

if this was two weeks ago, i would’ve given 5 stars. i WAS paying for nitro for over a year now, and i didn’t have any issues until my last payment. since then i’ve decided to no longer pay for nitro or give support towards the discord company. i got an email saying that my automatic payment was late and i needed to pay for nitro or else i would no longer be using nitro. i was confused and quickly paid for nitro while i was at work, i got a confirmation email and i was good to go. the discord app was no longer saying i needed to update my payment plan for three days, before getting pop ups saying, again, that i was going to run out of nitro on the day it was stating in the “late payment” email. i emailed discord support, didn’t hear anything back until i opened ANOTHER ticket and i finally got a response. they asked for where i paid (?), the email, and what day. although i had stated all of it. i told them and they told me i needed to get transferred to a higher level of management. i didn’t hear back for four days, two days AFTER the day i was told nitro would run out. which it did. i opened a new ticket and demanded a refund, and the NEXT DAY i got a response to the second ticket i opened and was informed they fixed the issue and gave the fakest apology i’ve ever seen from a company.

Spoiler Alert: There are No Spoilers.... I love the app, great to talk to my friends and everything, service is improving with each update and I’m able to find different chats easily enough. When it comes to discussing subjects like books or movies, though, I want to make sure that I’d have a spoiler tag to hide the words or image so people who don’t want to be spoiled stay spoiler-free. Problem is, through research when I couldn’t find it, there is no way to make a picture or sentence “spoiler hidden”, which ends up having me to avoid any postings or talk about movies and such. Having a way to turn a picture or post onto a spoiler post would be something fine since it exists on every other device known. Also setting a custom status is also a slight pain, once you make one it either disappears after a small time or stays forever, but what about having the option to save a custom status? So that way you could have up to three you can switch between or turn off on the fly without having to delete it and go through the process of making the same custom status all over again. I want to let my friends know when I’m at work, if I’m still asleep and other such so they don’t have to guess why I’m idle. I know Discord can’t make everything happen, but some quality of life improvements and features that actually match all the other versions would be nice after all this time. But it’s a great app, still.

Recent problems. I’ve been using discord for about 2 years now and recently I’ve been having multiple problems, be it screen share not working as intended and closing my application, over heating problems or discord closing while I’m in other apps. Usually I fixed these problems by just redownloading the app, but just yesterday it wouldn’t even let me open discord after redownloading it and so I thought “maybe it’ll work after I shut down my phone and it that doesn’t work I’ll wait until tomorrow.” Now today the app doesn’t open so I try redownloading it and it still does not open, (by the way when I mean the app doesn’t open, I mean that it gets stuck in a loading type animation and no matter how long I wait it seems to be infinite) so now I’m sitting here writing about the recent problems discord has been having and asking if the developers are even caring about mobile discord or is it really just a case where I should just get a mic and use discord on my pc. Despite my 3 star score I’ve still used discord for 2 - 3 years and it’s always been working as intended and it’s worked well up until like 8 months ago. Maybe this is just a problem with my phone despite me having an iPhone XS Max, maybe it’s just an iOS side problem, but discord team keep up the work maybe you’ll find a fix. Thank You

Functional but frustrating. Discord works well. The app does everything I need and want, group voice calls work flawlessly with almost no issues, and the design is fairly user-friendly. As other reviews stated, the notifications leave a lot to be desired. It's a bit annoying that I miss some notifications that I need, and that I get bugged about servers I have muted, but my biggest gripe is the notification grouping. You'd assume when opening a notification, it would dismiss, at a minimum, the notifications of all other messages from that chat. No. Instead I have to manually clear all notifications out of the notification centre everytime. It's handy that it doesn't assume that I have read every single message on all my servers (looking at you, FB messenger), but it seriously bugs me having hundreds of messages sitting on my lock screen, despite having read them all.

Good app but fix these bugs. So I wanted to call my friend so I went on discord but it took forever to actually load the app I spent 10/20 minutes trying to get in the app when I actually got in I couldn’t press anything so I restarted the app and waited another 5 minutes for it to open then when it opened I was able to to call my friend but she could not hear me nor I could hear her there was just a green circle around my profile and it was dead silent in my house nothing was making a noise it would not allow me to press anything else I could not even leave the call so I deleted the app and tried downloading it again here’s the mega problem it won’t download it just keeps going in a circle I have enough storage for it so I don’t know I try to press it but nothing happens it’s like it’s broken I tried to charge turn on and turn off I even tried waiting till the next day and nothing works it’s still like that and won’t let me download it fix this please it’s been a whole day and it still won’t let me download discord

Amazing App. As a 15 year old I was looking for a good texting and calling app and after using discord for 3 years I can comfortably say it is the perfect fit for all types of situations (Calling, Texting, hanging out with friends). The call experience is very good with only minimal microphone issues (prob from my 8 year old computer). I would recommend discord to anyone who is looking for a safe and easy to use, you can create severs for you be your friends and also call rooms so that you can all call and hangout. Discord is also has a very good privacy system which if have used for 3 years with no issues or data breaches. To sum up, discord is a very effective and easy to use app that I would recommend to anyone of any reasonably mature age.

The new UI 💀💀💀. I’m someone who loved using the old easter egg ui, instead of being a “scaled down desktop app” the app was finally designed for mobile use, and what do discord do? They remove the choice, they merge the easter egg ui with the old ui. Luckily they kept the features i loved from the easter egg ui such as swiping left to reply or accessing media and server members by pressing the channel name at the top (although for those that never used to easter egg ui, discord doesn't make it clear where to find these). However discord decided to keep the old ui for the server and channel side menus, remember when I called the old ui a “scaled down desktop app”? Kynthia in a recent Help Center Article used these exact words to describe the old ui too, yet the new ui released tonight has the exact same issues, its a scaled down desktop app with small changes. It’s not just me as someone who used the easter egg ui that’s mad, it’s also those who liked the old ui, instead of being given the choice to choose between the old ui and the easter egg ui, they've been mixed together and we lack a choice to change it. This could have been done very differently, we could have a separate option for the old server menu and the new (easter egg) server menu and then one for everything else, but instead we’ve lost the ability to choose how we would like to use the app as that is Discord’s choice now, not ours.

DISCORD IS GREAT, but a recommendation:. Discord is an amazing app, letting me talk to my friends, see my favourite youtuber’s streams, and so on. When I was first introduced to this app, I had to use it by the browser. It worked but I never chatted to any of my friends, so I gave up. Soon about a year later after that, a new friend asks me to get discord. Of course, I got it, as how I had some experience, and soon I got to chat to all of my friends at home! It worked better than messenger, which was useful. RECOMMENDATION: I would personally recommend letting younger ages use this app, like 12+. Some parents play by the rules, so some kids at maybe 13 can’t get discord, for example, me. I wanted discord when I found out about it, but I had to wait for a year or so to get it. Some kids do already use it, but strict parents wouldn’t allow their kids, so I think it would please children if you had lowered the age restriction. I also recommend that if you download on an iPad, you can see the compass. I am currently using discord on an iPad, since it has a bigger screen, and I don’t wanna talk to my friends on a PC. I first used iPad for discord, and I’m not seeing the compass that the instructions tell me about. So I have had to use the browser for discord to join special servers. Anyways I hope you enjoyed my rating! Of course Discord most likely won’t see it or do it, but it’s just a recommendation!

This app changed my internet life for the better!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. To start off my journey of discord, my friends really wanted me to get it, so I eventually listened to them, and I’m really glad I did. I friended my friends and started chatting to them and eventually made my first server. I have now made three and I am in 6 (including my own). I have met amazing people in this, including people I don’t know in real life. I don’t friend those people, but I still talk to them in other servers. As soon as I got the hang of discord I gave up messages/messenger completely, apart from one part. Sometimes, I have to use messenger/messages to send videos to my friends because the “file is too big.” I really want this to get fixed because it means I can’t send these videos to people that I am friends with in discord but aren’t in my contacts, and it’s also a hassle. Apart from this one small flaw, this app has changed my internet life for the better, and everyone should download it, rate it five stars and tell their friends to go and download it, because this app deserves more glory than it gets.

It’s a cool app. What can I say... the app is great and looks cool 😎, the bugs get fixed (probably by fixing them, good job coding peeps) the improvements to the app make it better and that’s not a given, and the update logs are a source of puns and funny comments. The app is great to be apart of a community, have a group chat with friends (over some games) or to talk with distant relatives because teleportation isn’t available yet in this patch of Life. Now if only light theme could disappear, that would be great. I recommend gradually changing the white theme to dark theme, going through a few shades of grey (more than fifty tho) they won’t notice a thing if the transition is done smoothly :^) But yeah, discord is a solid 5/5, the Discord team did (and is still doing) a great job with this app. Buy it (for free) to be cool today (I mean you can also pay to be extra cool but you don’t have to (you’d be extra cool tho, which is cool))

New update is horrendous. Discord has updated their app with a new UI layout which has totally misrepresented its community’s needs and values. First of all, the new layout makes it so you cannot swipe to the left in order to view the participants or server members, and instead creating a reply feature which is not able to be turned off in settings. Secondly, which is the MAJOR change out of the two, the DM location has changed to be at the bottom, and now it has made it increasingly difficult to view whether there’s a new notification or not. Furthermore, simply accessing DMs has been made much more difficult as Discord users could slice to the right and click the DM on the side with the old update, rather than having to slide and open a whole new menu which doesn’t even emphasise new notifications like the old layout did. This update has not reflected anything the community has asked for, and it is evident through the countless 1 star reviews both on the App Store & Google Play Store. Instead of changing an entire UI layout which its users have become accustomed to, Discord should to create more meaningful features which doesn’t decrease the efficiency of the app.

The is app is great. I got this app two teases ago (I know, not that old) and I already found how easy it was to use both on mobile and on desktop. You can friend people easily, create a profile (and it’s not even real usernames!), and most importantly, talking to people! Discord is great for socialising with others online, and you can do so by going into different servers! The text channels are easy to use, the bots are easy to install and play around with, and the server sizes are MASSIVE! Even if you don’t plan on using this to go into servers and explore what else discord has to offer; mainly just using this to talk to your friends, it’s still great! A plus I can say is that you can add so SO many people compared to other platforms, and you can have so much fun playing around in a friend server/gc dm.I don’t really know what to say about this app, other than it’s amazing! Looking forward to what else has to come!!!

Great app but just one thing.. Discord is a really good app and super sufficient when communicating with others. I love how the servers are also spread out simply throughout each category, the way you can react to things is a really cool and customisable thing and I love that. There’s just ONE issue though. Profile banners. All I can do is customise what colour I want it to be. It doesn’t automatically match up with the photo like it did as default when I first started using it. I’ve figured out a way to make it invisible so that I don’t have to look at its bs anymore, but please, and I’m speaking on behalf of most of the users on Discord, PLEASE! Bring out the setting to change banner colour back to default back to matching profile pictures. Please 🙏🏻. You’re driving us mad over here!!

Billing issue.. The app is good, i’m able to chat and play with my friends and meet new people. But when buying nitro i’ve had heaps of difficulties, and i’ve looked them up to see if anyone else had gone through the same thing and if i’m able to fix it. According to reddit, many others have experienced similar, if not the same thing I did. After buying nitro I didn’t receive it, I tried pressing the “restore nitro subscription” button over a hundred times and it did not work. I got the confirmation email for my purchase of it, and money was taken out of my account yet I wasn’t able to use or claim my nitro perks. I’m on iOS and used an apple gift card, someone else on reddit said they did the same thing and the same thing happened but i’ve used a gift card on the same device before and it did not do this until now. I refunded the nitro and bought it again to see if it’d work a second time, and nope. Still the same results. I’ve contacted apple support and hopefully they’re able to restore it.

Let me use this stupid app!. Let me just say this app id excellent for calling mobile and other! It has a variety of amazing features and qualities. But, as good as this app is it does have its flaws... Firstly it keeps on logging me out of my account saying 'somethings going on here'. Although this is to rid bots and other things its annoying because it keeps on doing it to me just whenever i have three people im not friends with in my dm's, but i just have people in my dms because there my friends that im waiting for them to accept my friend request. This makes me have to create an entirely new account and try to contact my friends with them. Ive made about 6 accounts so far and all of them have logged me out if. This was so annoying because i wasn't doing anything wrong so i just quit discord. This wasn't the only flaw. Whenever i tried changing my profile picture it made the profile the corner of the picture i chose. This too made discord very annoying! Overall i would not recommend this app to anyone who cant verify their account, though if they are able too then i would recommend it.

New “blurple” too saturated, causes eye strain. So I love discord, and I have for ages, but this new update really severely strains my eyes. I struggle with retinal ghosts from really bright colours, and now discord causes the same when it never used to. The hyper-saturation is glaring, and stands out way too much compared to dark mode, or even light mode. I know others have accessibility issues with the new font for example, but the eye strain from the new colour within the app is really too much. The new message notification bar, the message send button, the DM button, they’re all now a new glaring saturation that hurts my eyes even looking at it for a few seconds. I would appreciate an option to revert back to the previous blue, even just within the app, and would change my rating if this happened.

Discord Nitro. I have enjoyed Discord for a long time now but why would you add nitro just so people get extra things while just chatting? Like just buy nitro to join 100 more extra servers or buy nitro just to use different avatar pictures in servers. I think it is really stupid. I feel like Discord is a pay to get things. Pay for just a texting app? I mean the app is really fun and great but the idea of nitro is over the top. I just want to enjoy Discord. I don’t want to pay just to enjoy Discord more. Sorry if I sound mad I just don’t like the feature. Please reply as soon as you can. Also when I write on mobile my about me, it doesn’t say how many characters to type I have left or any other writing fields.

UI change has brought this app from 4 stars to 1. The new UI is absolutely atrocious. Numerous users have been complaining about accessibility issues (such as the decision to alter the dark mode to make it *less* accessible to users with astigmatism), poor design, moving essential app features previously accessible through a single swipe or tap to behind multiple swipes, taps and button presses seemingly moved to completely obscure locations. Additionally, the new UI features a number of (potentially dangerous) bugs, ranging from infinite loading screens to crashing when certain inputs are made (amusingly, the ‘feedback’ button has caused numerous users’ apps to crash when pressed) to sending DMs to the wrong person, or even to a server. While the ‘new’ UI has been available for a number of months, discord has always included the option to instead use the old one for users who prefer it. Removing that option was an unfortunate sign in the decline in quality of the developers’ responses to user feedback, and is a major blight on what has otherwise been an amazing app up until this point.

Why I used to love Discord but still use it.. When my best friend first introduced me to discord I was very sceptical, I was using messenger at the time and didn’t see a need to have a second messaging app. After a while of pestering, my friend eventually convinced me to download it. It was to my surprise that Discord was very different to messenger, it had the core features of a messaging app but soo much more. It was the fact that you could own and manage your own personal channel that I really fell in love with. Immediately I felt a great sense of community and social acceptance. I met a bunch of new friends and saw a bunch of great memes, all was good for a long time. Then Discord added the news tab, and started to become more like a game store than a social platform. And that’s what really annoys me about it, I still continue to use it because I have soo much invested in Discord, but every time I launch the app I have to look at promotions for games and ads everywhere, I don’t want that, I have enough applications that do that already. I don’t want my the social hub that I use to relax and talk to friends to also be a market place for games and other stuff. ~Ockley

Broken again! Bothersome and unusable.. As other users have reported in some less than favourable reviews for this app, it keeps on crashing! I have to delete and redownload it just to use it but every time I do this the amount of time I’m actually able to use it before it crashes again just gets shorter and shorter, until just now I think I had the app open for about 10 seconds before it crashed and kept me stuck on the loading screen when I tried to open again. Really!? This is so infuriating!! I still get notifications from the app but I can’t open them at all! I can’t believe how bad it is right now. Only a month ago I was able to use it like normal but suddenly this problem has cropped up and it doesn’t seem like I’m alone. Why is this happening? I even cleared all the space on my phone and did a system update just to try to rectify the issue but it still isn’t working so it can’t be my phone, but the app. I see a new version was released just a few days ago. I think this glitch must have come with it. Pretty bothersome. Let me know when you’ve fixed it so I can stop wasting my time.

Potentially god tier app let down by lack of support. Still the best voice and video chat around, and an unavoidable app if you game with other people. Still, support is lacking. Support seems to be staffed primarily by robots who don’t read your replies or even the original problem report. Reported bugs never get fixed, even after providing mountains of evidence and even, in some cases, telling them how to fix it. Dev team more interested in shiny new features than making the stuff they already have perfect before moving onto the next shiny thing. Basically all the hallmarks of a company driven by something like scrum, which you can’t spell without “scum”. Hopefully with the new advances in AI, Discord will finally be able to get some decent support staff, even if they’re not human.

I LOVE DISCORD!!!. I really like discord, I can talk to my friends all the time and call them while I play my games, but there ARE a few bugs, like sometimes when I get onto discord it will only show chat above like 4 lines of text so I’m unable to speak, meaning I will have to close the app and then open it again, it’s infuriating but I won’t really mind it a lot. I have a suggestion, maybe a few mini games in discord because your friends don’t have the same games as you, mini games like that dinosaur on google or maybe a short game of Pac-Man, I understand that we can use bots like the akinator bot to play akinator but in personal DMs we can’t add bots, or not that I know of, but besides that it’s a great app I like to use and I can make so many new friends! not impressed. i love discord , it’s a really good app to connect with friends and everything- but i have a problem about the app that won’t go away and it’s starting to really annoy me . When Discord changed my screen and told me to verify by phone or email i clicked email first . I did everything right but when it loaded up the *verifying your email page* on google or safari - the next step didn’t load so I was very annoyed with that . So next I tried my phone number and everything worked once more but when I typed in my password and pressed *done.* nothing happened .. so I kept retrying until it told me I was rate limited? Like wth discord. How am i supposed to verify if none of the options work for me? They’re actually not working for lots of more people to . I own a popular server and my members are going to get worried if I’m not there but this stupid verification is stuck on my screen page - THANKS A LOT 😡

Nice and a little bit bad. This is a nice app but I have not opened it for over 1 year all ready some ransom kid encouraged be to get it, but I feel like you should add some more detail or something if I’m wrong, I feel like you should make this thing like you can just have like a tab and all your friends can play like a certain thing and join to play. I feel like it would be better, like that then just clicking on share screen all the time which wouldn’t even budge or work sometimes. The Discord is just good it’s atleast better than better than messages which is way worst, I still try to get my friends interest in discord but he think it’s to impropriate people are just swearing and with racist scenes. I know it’s for over 10 years but how come people just download the app just to boast and tease, Everything you say has no tags it’s literally just a swear word or whatever people even name them own self into something weird I just have to say how are they not banned or blocked yet I suggest they should get time out for all those wrong things.

What did you do. The single worst move was to change of your app functioned as a whole the move doesn’t make sense in any capacity because not only is the update Not needed it was forced upon us with no regard for what the community wanted and not only did you give us a mandatory update that nobody wanted you made it terrible the app is now unorganised and has a bunch of glitches to name a few images not sending, messages not sending, messages sending multiple times, unable to go back to a channel you have selected the pings not showing up as yellow in app notifs the notifications being faded for no reason. And not only is it buggy you made it claustrophobic you increase the size of everything just by a smidge and it’s very hard to see what’s going on the screen even harder than it already was, I will say there are some good things in the update but do they really matter if the cons far outweigh the pros, I know nobody will probably ever see this but please either revert the update or at the very least give the people the option to chooses how their discord should look like back when this update was in beta an im only writing this because we care about discord pls don’t hurt it Thank you

Amazing. I have Ben using discord since 2017 and have loved it ever since the app is very convenient and so easy to use, I love the fact that you can mute people as well aha!! But over all it’s really good I definitely recommend it, There’s just one thing I think the discord team could add that would make the chat a whole load better and it would be very good if you guys added a feature where you can see the first message of a group chat or a private message..I have a group that’s been active for 4 years now and it takes ALOT of scrolling to get to our first messages, My friends and I would probably love to see what we were up to those days,But over all very good app so grateful I have it

Improved call feature?. I love discord, I think it’s great that there is an app focused to the needs of gamers and it’s the only app I need to communicate with my friends. However, in the recent update for iOS I found the new call features when putting your phone to sleep prevents me from getting discord notifications (and maybe others, I haven’t tested). It’s cool that you can integrate the call feature with iPhones but I’m looking for an option to turn it off. So far I’ve found a way to prevent the app from creating the call that is recognised by the iPhone; simply close the app completely while in the call, then reopen the app. It should connect you to the call automatically, but if you press the home button before the call has finished authenticating, it will go back to being a normal discord call, the same as before the update.

Future Improvements. The platform is one of the best platforms currently in this generations and quite possibly future generations too, but that will require more improvements, which is why the 4 stars. A recommendation would be to add like a favourite list for dms or a grouping system like the one for servers and I strongly believe this will help the platform to become better as we can favourite the people and/or GDM we interact with more and can find them easily instead spending time scrolling through to find them. Having the favourite list category at the top with all the people and/or GDM we favourited or the same sort of system with the servers. And maybe a sorting system, like “Recents”, “A-Z”, “Z-A”, “DM > GDM”, “GDM > DM”, just to name some at the top of my head. Best texting app I have ever used. Discord was a trendy app my friends begged me to get. I eventually got it and it changed my life. I could do what what I couldn’t do on my other chatting apps. It’s was like an all in one chatting app. The app allows you to chat, video call, voice call, voice message, send videos and play games while calling with your friends. It’s a good app that has all the features for a perfect chatting app. You can meet new people and start chatting with them - a great to communicate and have a good laugh. There’s this premium mode called nitro, which is like kinda expensive but is VERY VERY worth it. You can send longer videos to friends and send gifs from other servers to another chatting area. You can create servers and invite your friends into them - chatting and calling in one place. There are bots which you can add to your server to make it more fun! I’ve been using discord for 3-4 years now and it definitely changed my life. 10/10 definitely recommend. Very good 👍

Excellent app!. This app is amazing! It’s really good for talking to friends, and I like the idea of making your own server, however, I want something to be added. Can there be a feature where you can see history of old friends, and make it so you can add them back? Also if you have their discord name or old discord name, can you make it a feature so that you can see everyone with that existing name, or current name, and be able to add them? Overall though apart from adding old friends (which is fine) I would highly recommend this app. To all the parents, the 17+ rating is pretty over exaggerated, as you can block someone or unfriend them, whenever you like. The only problem is that if you have not many privacy settings, you could see some explicit content, however like I said before, you can block and unfriend then whenever you like. Would recommend.

A serious lack of settings.. Hey! Great app. Thoroughly enjoy using discord, the view is quite pretty and I usually get all my notifications. I just have one issue. The settings leaves much to be desired. Unlike the desktop application, which has everything you need, there are a lot of settings missing from the mobile version! Want to turn off automatic emoji conversion? You’re gonna have to go find your laptop for that one, buddy. It’s annoying and time consuming. I also have an issue with uploading photos. I’m not sure what it is, but sometimes I try to send an image in a chat and it comes up with an error message saying ‘under 8mb, please’ or something of the like. It’s been like this for multiple different things (screenshots, photography, etc.) but for some reason the same thing doesn’t happen upon taking a screenshot of the error message and sending that? Weird. Please fix both of these. Much appreciated.

It's Great, But.... Nitro. No, no, before you 'ugh' at me, call me 'cheap' and say the creator is trying to make money, wait. Nitro is fine, I don't care about it except the fact that it limits video sizes. Me and my friend have no other way of communicating, which I know isn't the creators fault, but since its meant for gaming... it ties in with our GAMING channel (which, sub to...jk lol) . We try to send videos and stuff to each other to do collaborations and such, such, which we usually can't and eventually have to download a whole other app, post it, view it, download the part, delete the app,... when it could be done a lot easier just by using Discord. Every other part of the app is fantastic, and I love how it's a social media app, yet there are no followers and it feels like normal message apps such as iMessage. Regards, Rosewell <3

Worst update yet. This new layout and everything is so stressful to even look at. I’ve used discord for many years and it’s my main source of communication with my friends, but it’s just sad seeing this app fall. I just don’t understand how they need to put something new and shiny on it so often, no one was complaining until they started changing everything which on top of that has made the app work less and less. With every update the app gets worse and worse with bugs, all my friends and myself included have had to closes this app constantly because chats won’t load, calls won’t work properly, sometimes my whole keyboard won’t load. Ever since this update I have not had a single day where I haven’t had to shut off the app. Another thing I’ve noticed is the lack of care for customers, all complaints are ignored and are replied with a half effort message directing them to a app directory page. It’s clear they do not care what people think of the update because they’re still getting their money. BRING BACK THE OLD UI!!

Please fix this bug discord :(. So at first, I was calling my friends on this amazing app as usual but then suddenly I couldn’t hear anything and I went to check what had happened to the call. For some reason, the app made me leave the call for no reason! It was probably a bug so I just rejoined the call.. but then after a day or few it got even worse! Every time I call and play games at once the call just stops and I would have to leave the game and rejoin it. I got so annoyed one day so I decided to try to find out what’s going on and how to fix it. But nothing worked.. I tried deleting the app and download it back but that did work, so I tried to restart my discord and that didn’t work. Please! Discord please! Fix this bug it is very annoying and if this doesn’t get fixed then I might have to use another messaging app. Other than that, discord is amazing.

It was good until the newest update. Discord is a really good app to talk in small or big groups amongst your friends but this new update has messed it up on my phone. Every time I start texting a message and go down to the next line, the screen starts jumping up and down. Sometimes it’s just a little bit and other times it is massive and uncontrollable. On top of this, occasionally when it’s jumping around it will send my messages earlier. Sometimes when I press on the app to go into it, it will just stay on a blank screen and not go into the app, so I clear the tab and try again. I’m not sure if these problems are just on my device but ever since this update it has been messing up. It’s really annoying because I talk to all of my friends on discord and it’s a pain to have the screen mess up on me. Hopefully the developers see this and can try and fix it. I have tried reinstalling and logging out of my account but it doesn’t fix it. Otherwise, it was a really good app.

THE BEST APP OF ALL TIME. Discord has been probably one of the best internet experiences I have had. At first l, I had gotten it because many other people were getting it and it was getting trendy. But after actually spending some time and using it, it became a great way to talk to my friends and family. After a few months on it I decided to create a server, the idea of this server was to connect people all around the world to be friends or have a nice chat. Eventually it became popular and plus with the new timeout feature and community guidelines help it was very easy to professionally make it. There is one issue with hackers in discord, but I’m sure that discord is doing the best they can to prevent hacking situations. Another issue is that sending videos or even images it can say it is too big and it requires you to purchase the monthly subscription Discord nitro. Which is very nagging and hard to handle. By overall discord is a great app!! Five out of five for me :)

It’s perfect except for max file size. This app is so good for talking with your friends and joining communities through servers. It has voice chats and different chats to ease sorting that other apps lack. I mainly use discord to talk to my friends because it’s just so convenient, it has dms, group chats and servers. The only downside to discord is the maximum file size of 8mb! yeah you heard that right, 8mb! Unless you have discord nitro which you have to pay for. This isn’t a problem for sending photos but for videos, oh my lord. Sometimes a 5 second video is too big! I would have given this a 4.5 but the App Store only allows to go up and down 1 stars (which is a bit dumb) so I decided to go 4 because there is still a major fault, the max upload size. Other than that the app is flawless in my eyes.

Best messenger app in the world. Hi!:) Discord is my farvite messenger app in the world the first reason why is the messenger apps I had before discord pretty 0 of my friends had them and discord the reason why I downloaded it is because one of my friends had it and I thought he was the only one then I asked all my other friends if they had discord pretty all of them had it now because of your amazing messenger app I can contact all of my friends reason 2 I have never had a glitch or a problem with my other messenger apps I all ways have a problem you see when my friend first added me to a discord server it was my first discord server and that’s when I first feel in love with discord cause people who you’re friend knows but Idk you can still talk to them that’s all I have to say about the wonderful messenger app:)

Great, just one thing to add.. Discord is a great app, but there are 2 things I hope you add ^^ First is, I’m in a lot of voice acting projects. I always have to download files (me being an animator) and they’re always wav, mp3, or mp4 files. I have to go on pc to download them, since you can’t save them on iOS. Second, I hope in a different update we’ll be able to set profile pictures or server icons to transparent, instead of having to go on pc or google chrome to do that. On iOS, it just has a black screen where the transparent part is meant to be. BUT; it’s an amazing app with that aside. I love how you can pin messages so you can look at something when you need to remember a note or something, I find it really helpful when I need lines for voice acting. I also love the feature where you can edit and save permissions on a server’s channel, so you can make it where only special members can send pictures, and muted people can’t talk. But I do wish for groupchats to have more features, like audit logs. It’s a little unnecessary but someone in my groupchat keeps unpinning important messages and it’s getting annoying. I want to find out who did it.

Great app!!. About 2 years ago, one of my friends desperately wanted me to get discord, basically to the point of him downloading it on my laptop. At the time I thought it was unnecessary as I could just use Skype to connect. I have to say, I was wrong. Discord is a great app, you can tell it has been made with gamers and the meme community in mind. It looks great aesthetically and runs well. I can’t imagine the amount of time I’ve been on call playing games like Counter Strike and having a lot fun. Additionally, the inbuilt bots like Pokémon and slotbot (just to name a few) add another aspect to the platform and make servers much better. Truly the gamers platform. I really think playing games with friends make games 10 times better. Discord makes connecting with friends easy to use, efficient and all-round amazing!

Remove Clyde auto-ending calls. Discord has its glitchy moments with notifications, but on the whole is a solid app. However, I absolutely hate the new “feature” which means private calls on mobile are automatically ended after three minutes if one person leaves. I rely on discord to call my long distance partner and we love falling asleep with each other on the call and checking in with each other throughout the day/night as the other person sleeps to see if they’re okay. It was so disheartening the first time we discovered that Clyde had disconnected the call after three minutes, meaning we couldn’t check on each other without waking the other person up and making a new call. I understand that the idea behind it is the save data/bandwidth, but that’s for me to manage, not discord. I’m really disappointed that this has been added and think it should be at least a toggle button where you can disable Clyde from auto-ending private calls on both PC and mobile. It’s up to me to manage how I spend my time on the app, not discord to decide for me.

Discord. I rate Discord 4 stars because there are some things they could change. Firstly, having more control of what people can send you. (Being able to put a filter on things that you don’t want to be sent). Secondly, the group owner having to ask permission before they change your display name on the group. That happened to me and it wasn’t a very fun experience. That leads me to my last request, people should ask you before they give your account to other people, because if those people message you and you ignore them because you don’t want to talk to them, you will seem mean and no one will want to hang out with you anymore. Overall, discord is a great app to talk, chat and hangout. I would rec it to people but I would also warn them about things that can be done.

Sooo good. This app is sooo good, it does sometimes glitch but then p it goes back to normal, I love to talk and call friends and it is so child friendly, for me it never has any adds but if I could fix one thing about it, it would be for it not to glitch but altogether I recommend this app if you want to talk to friends with the feeling of safety that you will not be hacked. I say you should for sure download this app bc I have made new friends that are extremely nice, also it is so good for people who live in Melbourne bc you get to talk to people in servers and meet new people and you can become really good friends with them Download this app it is soo good ( and I know I have said this aloud already but still) it is sooo good and fun to talk and call people on. 😊✌️❤️🍀

Great, but these notifications omg. The app is wonderful and full of features that other chats don’t have, but one thing that’s really on my nerve as of late is the in app notification banner. It used to be amazing and slid away when I opened the server list... but now, when I swipe right to open the server/dms list, if there’s a notification for another server I’m not engaged with at the time, it blocks access to the dm or first server on the list and I have to swipe upwards to remove it. What makes it worse is that it backs up, so if there’s multiple notifications, when one is swiped away, another immediately replaces it’s space. Please, revert the banner to how it worked before; a thing that moved across out of the way when you opened the server list so it didn’t interfere with opening dms and servers

Definitely fake reviews. Look, discord is a fine idea. it's a functional (partially) app and does it's job. but it's possibly the worst at what it does. it's free! but if you want to have a solid 80% of the features, it's a subscription service. it's convenient! but they keep changing the layout, and removing options in the settings for the sake of "aesthetics", and they have not bug tested this app since 2019, i'm absolutely certain. it's where all your friends are! and the moment someone with slightly more competence realises that the site famed for pedophiles, paywalls and moderation that ranges from "entire severs made to groom children" to "we might restrict what you can say in private messages with your friends" and somehow no overlap between the two, they'll make a better site and discord will be to them what skype is to discord. tl:dr just use 3 different apps instead of this 4-in-1 deal, nothing works and it will do all in it's power to make things worse for you

Perfectè. Discord is a reliable source where I can create or join multiple different servers, ranging from different varieties in genre, theme and people! I usually use it for the purpose of speaking with my friends, and sometimes joining casual roleplay groups to do what I do best. You can upload pictures, write pretty big paragraphs and design your profile and own servers! There’s only one reason why I should rate it a 4, but since it isn’t the apps fault, I won’t! Sometimes the community can get a bit wild. By this I mean that it can range from sending random DMs trying to convince somebody who might be 12 to have, well, the adult naughtys, all the way to simple bullying. I have, of course, never gone to any servers that involve this, but I warn anybody who wants to download Discord, or has it; Do not enter any servers involving things like racism, general rudeness, online dating (can get super serious) or anything that just seems unnaturally strange to you. Also random DMs. Avoid those. Discord is the perfect app to download to chat with people you know or people you feel safe with, but be careful of the community.. some people are lurking..

New update is a hindrance to users. The new update you have implemented has been a hindrance to more people than just me, people hate the way Discord looks now. I understand that you guys only want to improve the experience of your users on this app but this is definitely a step backwards. The app looks like almost every other social app and it isn’t as unique anymore, people can’t find member lists and others are having trouble navigating to other servers without accidentally swiping to reply to another person. I even turned off my auto updates with hopes my app wouldn’t update but it still did. If you guys really care about the users on your platform then please take the feedback you receive from this update seriously. I guarantee that majority of people dislike the new update and would prefer you revert it back to how it was. It’s causing far too many issues for users other than myself, please think about what they say and apply the feedback better. Thank you x

Was my number 1 messaging app on mobile. Discord has been an app I used for a long time, it was an incredible app that was easy on the eyes and even easier to use. Then they changed the ui and gave NO way to switch back. I have seen people’s comments on this new ui talking about how buggy it was but that wasn’t my main issue. The issue I had was all my muscle memory is no longer applicable thanks to the changes. Luckily a YouTuber posted a way to revert to the old ui using console. HOORAY… a month later they patched it and within 30 seconds (not an exaggeration) of opening the app all the buttons froze and I had to restart discord. Some people with medical issues also have been negatively affected. While I haven’t used the new layout a lot, I speak for a lot of people when I say it’s garbage The only reason that I don’t give one star is because the pc app didn’t get a new ui. Worst app update I’ve ever seen in my entire life and I will be downgrading discord to before the ui update despite any security issues that don’t get patched with the old versions.

Bug Fix? More like break the app more. Updated the app yesterday for bug fixes, but ended up with the app being completely unusable. Once you go into the app, the logo page loads up then the app force closes within 10 seconds, rendering the app not functional. This new ‘update’ is not a great early Christmas present. But the app continued to function well before this disappointing update. It worked great as a place to socialise with various people of similar interests. I do recommend people to join and interact with others because it’s one way to socialise online. However I don’t really recommend this to those below 15 - 17 years old or people who like to spew nonsense like a gibberish toddler or like to create drama out of nowhere; doesn’t make a great social interaction for anyone. Only advice for those still wanting to use this is: be street smart and a responsible individual (which should apply to anywhere offline and online spaces as well). Back to the issue: now that the app is like this, there’s not gonna be any sort of socialising that can happen with this technical problem. On the App Store, it states the app still supports my iOS (iOS 12.5.6), so not sure if that’s something. Installed and reinstalled to no avail either. Would greatly appreciate this to be resolved soon.

Huawiaahh. I love to use discord on a daily basis, whether it be on my phone, iPad or computer. But i think you should increase the max file limit for free users. 8MB isn’t a lot and i want to send funny or cool videos to my friends, such as tiktoks that are 1min+ or cool clips i hit in a game or i have. While it is tempting to get nitro i feel it isn’t worth it. Me and my friends chat on here all the time, real life and online. It’s changed everything. Ive had discord for almost 3 years and it’s only gotten better. (Apart from the 9-11 year olds that make “your mom” jokes and act tough) But all is fun, especially when they’re trying to threaten you and they misspell their whole sentence 🤣. But keep up the good work guys!

I love this app but somethings not right. Now this app is amazing, but theres some things that really annoy me. When I want to send photos or videos, it says it takes up too much storage and I think the storage worth should be extended. There’s also something wrong with my friends’ discord. They tried writing a review but discord wouldn’t let them. What is also happening is that randomly they are just using discord, but many verifications come up. Here’s the thing, they already verified like one million times but discord is still telling them to verify. I made this review for them because they weren’t able to. They have tried downloading then re downloading the app and made multiple accounts but the same thing happens to all accounts. We both have no idea why this is happening. They have made over 5 accounts but nothing has worked. Please do something if you can! If you need this, they have a iPhone 6+ and a big apple ipad. Im not sure if you need that information but just in case you do! - their bestfriend.

New discord is terrible. Everything is glitchy. Everytime I’m in a server and a message pops up it says “1 new message since…” but it doesn’t go away even after I’ve went to the server. Now everytime there’s a busy server, all I see is that blue notification that won’t go away. This is so annoying because now I have to constantly slide up and down. Same with server pings. The search part of discord is terrible. Why in the dms are all the profile pictures the same? I keep thinking all the messages are from the same people but no, it’s just the other persons pfp. If I accidentally click on a message it sends me to it and that’s super annoying. The filter tool is glitchy too and will only work before you type anything in. You can’t type the commands in anymore. In the dms, I’ll get messages from people but when I go to check it doesn’t appear so I have to leave it and click back on it to see it? The friends place is also super unnecessary. Why is it so uneven, why are some of them long rectangles, than squares, then back to long rectangles. It doesn’t separate the online to the offline so it’s annoying too. I also get a glitch where the server logos at the bottom don’t properly show, like I can only see one house and it’s black with white spots in it. Bring old discord back or at least fix the glitches.

Revert recent updates. Discord mobile used to be super easy and convenient to use. Every recent update has completely spat on that. Want to quickly send or take a photo? It now takes twice as long. Want to check your DMs? It’s no longer as easy as seeing it and pressing it, you have to go to a whole different tab and then looks for the right DM. Every single thing you might want to do on this app is now made more difficult, except for maybe creating a thread (which is something I very rarely do, and did not need easier access to). I don’t see the point of changing an app that previously worked really well and felt good to use, especially when none of the changes have been good. Most interesting or positive changes require money to use them to their fullest extent (soundboards, profile banners etc). Stop changing the app just for the sake of it. I do not know a single person who has enjoyed these changes.

UGLY GARBAGE UPDATE. every change you have been making to this platform for the past little while have been objectively terrible decisions, unneeded, unwanted, and making it worse to use while not fixing actual issues. but now this new update that changes how everything looks ???? hate it hate it it’s so ugly hate the layout why is there a button for threads ?? I do not want threads in my server. I do not want the events button always in my server. I do not want any of these changes, I want to be able to use this god forsaken app without it crashing, which you have not done for me. also the colours are so much worse also all the profile customization stuff is also terrible

discord doesn’t care about its users. the vast majority of discord users are well aware of how terrible the new UI is, but you can look at any other review in the past week to see that. i, as well as many others, pay for the discord nitro premium service, and have for years. and yet despite that, they didn’t feel it was necessary to let anyone know ahead of time, or give people a grace period with this new ui, they just immediately changed it and on social media essentially just told people to get used to it. discord clearly has no intentions of responding to any of the feedback, despite how much there is, and for a service this big, their lack of response is disgusting. they released a beta of a similar ui several months ago and gave the option to return to the previous ui, to which almost every user went back to. i don’t know if they’re responding to shareholder demands or just hate everyone who uses their app, but this is a fast track to ending up as obsolete as skype. tl;dr discord has ignored responses from it’s user base, many of whom pay for the premium account, and have not acknowledged the outpour of negative feedback

UI change. They changed the UI and now the mobile app is hot garbage, it was prefect the way it was, a 1-1 copy of the desktop version but works on mobile. I’ve lost all my muscle memory, you can even see server list, and it runs slower half the time. Don’t get discord for phone now.

Updated into Hot Garbage. If discord plans to take this worthless mobile redesign to PC- they will be committing economic suicide. We have lost features- and “gained” a confusing mess of a UI in turn. 👎

Good but needs work. I use discord everyday and these problems are getting worse and worse, one I can’t set my Xbox live as a status I like to know how much time I’ve been playing a game. It logs me out for no reason, the app always needs to reload when it opened. The app will stop working and shut down every so often.

Banned for “Spamming”. Abroken Appeal system. I’ve been a long timetime Discord user since 2017 and HypeSquad Member. I’ve done a lot to help grow their userbase as best I could. Now I shall provide my feedback on this experience here. Discord’a autoflagging/disabling + Trust and Safety team is absolute whack. This autodetect system is broken and only serves to raise a number for statistics to look good. The Trust & Safety team won’t actually care for their community. Auto detection will just flag anyone using their services they provide to you as spam if used in anyway not suitable to the system. Immediately disabling the account without warning or a second chance. Due to my heavy use and longtime standing account I’ve gained a ton of friends throughout the years. Being in multiple servers and having multiple friends. Well into the hundreds. Cause of this I had a ton of Friend suggestions, near 200 and wanted to use their Friend Suggestions feature they provided me on their platform. After sending friend request via their own features my account got flagged as spamming/botting. I had only used their Friend Suggestion feature and added friends and messaged only to have my account flagged as spam. Immediately disabled without warning for using their own features and nothing can be done on my end. I’ve sent an appeal but they refused as the terms were broken due to bottong/spamming. This system and team is broken. I’m willing too wager the vast majority of the millions banned for spam were wrongly banned. Flagging accounts for claims of “spamming”/“botting” when in reality it’s just using your platform and services If discord Trust & Safety Team actually looked into my account they’d see the 5 years being a longtime heavy member and a HypeSquad Member to help build their community and userbase. The system is broken & this trust & safety team doesn’t seem to look into anything with nuance and a critical eye. Immediately going for an auto disable and ignoring the users afterwards. This system needs fixing, an overhaul and more heavy moderation. Support tickets should serve to support, not just hold accounts hostage for a single mundane mistake after years of good use. Sometimes a real person’s account can get flagged by mistake, and in those cases you should work with the person to make sure the account is unsuspended. Instead of immediately disabling and deleting for spamming. A temporary disable and warning of what was violated with the behaviour would be more ideal for users and the community. For example, you may be prevented from logging into your account for a certain period of time needing to verify info before proceeding. Everyone deserves a second chance. Discord users should be able to access and work towards getting their accounts back. With a warning in tow and strike on their account for the temporary disable. Immediately disabling an account for a spam flag detection as that account’s first mistake is completely unreasonable. With all this feedback and info being said. I’d really enjoy to give positive feedback for a platform I’ve enjoyed for years and helped a ton of others get into. I can’t when I’ve first hand experienced this situation and how it’s handled though. This flagging system and support is trash. Discord will never be able to compete with the likes of Microsoft if they don’t take their users appeals more critically and nuanced. The reach to a more broad and professional user base won’t go over well with this system. They need to really reconsider their actions and system. I really wanna enjoy this platform, I’ve had nothing but good things to say up until this point. This experience has soured my perspective on the behind the scenes and the inner workings of Discord. I’d love support on this. I wouldn’t wanna give up without trying my best to get my account back. I don’t want to have to dislike the Discord platform and lose the friends I made and helped get into Discord over the past 5 years.

Awful new updates. Every new discord update has been awful. My breaking point is the new, garbage UI. It’s awful, glitchy, hard to navigate, and I think whoever designed it needs to be fired. It’s the opposite of innovative. If you’re gonna even have this UI, at least make it so that you can turn the damn thing off. Fix your app. Stop making unwanted and useless changes.

Some irritating new issues. Ever since the update in late February my phone has had issue after issue. My phone locking crashes the app. I change to another app and it disconnects me from the call until I swap back to discord. The call quality is amazing when it works but the fact that it’s a 50-50 chance of failing is... not promising.

Volume. The volume for voice chats isn’t appearing on my screen? I’m literally going deaf with how loud it is plz help.

Poor UI update. Terrible new UI. You needed to keep role hierarchy something you could see from the right side of the screen if you wanted to. Putting in “list” view on a separate page ruins the whole hierarchal aspect of things, and it makes the role system seem less important. I like everything else about the update, but Discord is trying to hard to look like a social media platform on mobile. Discord will never be that. It’s not supposed to be that. What makes Discord better than other platforms is that it isn’t like a social media platform (ie. IG, FB, etc.) but it seems to be trying too hard to be. If you change the PC version, you guys will lose a lot of respect. I wish I could reverse this update.

It’s cool.. Discord is an amazing app but I have a few struggles with it. 1.It keeps on crashing on me each time I click on a channel or server. 2.I seemed to notice that some of my messages take longer to load in then usual.(Not bcz or bad wifi-) 3.The raiders and the racist peeps. 4.Hackers going around trying to steal my account on my journey. That’s basically all my complains about it but really- It’s an amazing app.

Bad ui. This new ui is so bad and very glitchy, it wouldn’t automatically delete the message in the text box when sent so I had to if I wanted to send a new message

Terrible update. The layout was perfect, a bit confusing at first, but then they change the entire thing and remove everything from discord that made it what it is. This app is no longer about what it was and instead about following what every other app is doing, I will not be using it anymore as other apps offer that and more. I have no idea what they were thinking.

The new UI is quite possibly the worst update ever. The fact that the discord app leadership have seemingly decided to make their app less intuitive, far more clunky to navigate this strongly when they already had something good going is somehow astonishing.

Why fix what ain’t broke?. Discord continues to roll out awful, buggy, and frankly unnecessary updates. These updates add nothing new, go against community feedback, and are released without proper testing.

You had a decent thing going, and you ruined it.. I’d rate 0 stars if I could, but I can’t. Don’t use this service anymore. Discord no longer values the safety and privacy of its users, and they definitely don’t deserve your money anymore. This username change seriously has me considering canceling my Nitro and switching to a new application. There was nothing, nothing at all, wrong with the current discriminator system you guys had going. The pomelo system is a terrible system and doesn’t fit the needs of the online population on other sites, let alone on Discord, so why would you guys take a currently working system and switch to something that nobody wanted? You’re making it easier for people to get harassed over their usernames, making it easier for stalkers to track down their victims because now there’s only one username per person, accounts will be hacked or the owners will be harassed and threatened/blackmailed into selling their accounts for profit, or worse - swatted like that poor man on Twitter who died from after he was swatted IRL, orchestrated by people who wanted his username. A man is DEAD IRL, because someone valued a USERNAME over a human life. Congratulations, Discord, this is the possibility you’re now opening up your users to. This update takes away any security you guys had, over a made up issue that nobody was complaining about. You’re not helping anybody with this new system, and it’s going to cause WAY more problems in the near future than it’s going to solve. 300 million people on this platform and your solution to “there’s too many x” is to make it so there can only be ONE? Where is the logic?

Ugly layout. New update feels extremely invalidating after using discord for years. It doesn’t feel like discord anymore, it feels like a generic social media app. I don’t use those because I don’t like how they are set up and now I guess I have to add discord to that list. At the very least give us the option to choose between this new layout and the old layout instead of forcing this upon us and the. Have the audacity to say “this is an upgrade that we’ve all been waiting for.” Absolutely insulting.

Everything is alright. It’s a wonderful app. No complaints but why did the age change to 17+? I’m 14 and I would like to use discord while I’m gaming but I have restrictions on my devices so I’m requesting if it could go back to being 12+ instead.

Yikes... I've been using discord for around 2/3 years now and honestly back in the old days it used to be cool. Nothing was wrong with the app, call feature was fine and everything. After the recent update on phones, joining a call turns your originally 'on call' red bad near the top green, and initiates it like a phone call or FaceTime. It's annoying, I can't turn my phone off without hanging up or not being able to check my notifications. Not to mention, I have to restart the app and join again to rid of that feature AND to actually communicate with whoever I'm on a call with, because it glitches out and they can't hear me, vice versa. I wish it was reverted, everything seems to laggy and glitchy with discord nowadays. I love the app and I want to support it, but it's difficult when I can barely even use it.

The new mobile ui. Please change back to the old one, it’s overwhelming, eye straining, and laggy, nobody likes the new ui and it’ll just make everyone leave discord, also it’s a 13+ app, stop making it look like it’s for 6 year olds

Amazing on so many levels. I have been only using Discord for about 6 months and have loved it too much! I keep it open 24/7 to see what friends are playing and love chatting with them while we play games! I have loved all the fun features that Discord has to offer! You can create a massively public server or a small little server for your gaming peeps! Also, it is so easy to manage the server! Everything is so clear and easy to navigate when you own a server! I love it how you can customize the roles and have other people have higher roles and being in the group of people which everyone is! I love the things that you can do when you don’t even own a server like try and earn respect and climb up the ranks! It is like a little civilization that you are in with a bunch of other people! The settings and security of Discord is great! I love the fact that you can completely secure yourself and only allow messages from people you know or having the freedom to meet people! Plus what I have researched Discord is like unhackable! You can do so many things with Discord that it’s mind blowing! Anyone who is uncertain of getting Discord read above and just get it!

Amazing app, but terrible update bug.. I love this app, as it it my primary source of communication between me and many of my friends. I use it to play games and have conversations with my friends all around the world. Anyways, onto the point. I updated Discord today after seeing it was in need of one. One issue I've had since the update was constantly having the "Connecting..." issue. About every three seconds I would get stopped by this issue, not letting me send messages or watch videos all the way through. I usually wouldn't have a problem with this, since it would usually be a small connection issue that would easily be fixed by closing and reopening the app, but no matter what I do it won't stop saying "Connecting..." After talking with some friends of mine I figured out it's not only me that's going through this. Several people who have updated their Discord have had the connection issue and the time in between the times it connects keeps getting shorter. I've checked the connection issues by opening other apps, but all of them work perfectly fine. I truly hope this issue gets resolved soon, so I can continue to communicate with my friends.

An absolute disgrace of an update. I’ve used Discord for a while now, and quite frequently. I’ve never had serious issues with it, until this recent update. This new update is the most atrocious thing I’ve laid my own two eyes upon. The new font is disgusting. It makes me want to punch a hole through my screen. It brings forward such an unbridled anger within me, I can’t stand it. Put it back. No one asked for it to change. Please, I swear to god, PLEASE change the font back. If it was for easier reading purposes, then make it a changeable setting, not an unchangeable default. The S makes me want to cry, the longer E makes me feel like I’m about to go insane. This update is honestly one of the worst things I’ve seen come from discord. Myself and many others are disgusted by this new update, so maybe, just maybe, please listen to the community and put it back. All that aside, Discord is a pretty decent messenger app. I talk to many of my friends, and have it downloaded on multiple devices. I enjoy how much more connected the company is to its users compared to other platforms. I love it, but this update makes me so angry and upset I think I’m going to throw up.

Amazing app, one suggestion though. Please read.. I absolutely love this app. Finding a gaming partner is way easier using this! I’ve actually found a group of people that I frequently game with and talk to that I honestly really love. My experience this past year has been really amazing, and without trouble. However, only one thing really annoyed me in my time using discord. When you want to leave a server you’ve created, you have the option to pass ownership to someone you trust or someone that’s qualified. It isn’t the same for group chats, though. If I had created a group chat, and had to leave, I would also want to pass the ability of owner to someone trusted, but it randomly picks a member to make the new owner. As the owner, I think I should be the one making that choice. Because even though I absolutely love my discord friends, some of them tend to abuse the power of owner chaotically, and I don’t want to be added back into that kind of environment. Leaving a group chat you and wanting to be added back soon just leads to you crossing your fingers and hoping someone worthy got the crown.

It would be the best social app, if they would just leave it alone.. Discord is a great base service. The idea is really simple and a great evolution of something like Skype and Teamspeak and Ventrilo. I’ve been using comm apps for games and just keeping up with people forever, and release discord was incredible. The customization and usability was unmatched and honestly it was fantastic. They keep updating and changing things that don’t need to be changed and I get changing usernames and everything, because it could be confusing for a different group of people, but completely changing the UI around to where people have to not only relearn it but to make it completely unintuitive for those people that did already know how the system worked is just plain nonsensical. Its constant updates of things that nobody asks for, people don’t like it, they get upset and cancel their subscriptions, they revert it, and the cycle seems to continue. I understand that they want to implement changes, but if you’re making money, which I know they are because EVERYBODY uses discord, and nobody is really asking for all these changes and updates. Why waste the time and effort on them to begin with? I just don’t understand breaking something that works perfectly fine.

It’s fine.. This app is great if you want to message your friends, make calls and have a blast but their is still some issues I would like to be fixed. Discord lost a bit of popularity since the update. The issues I find most annoying is when you are trying to delete messages in a DM you have to go through each individual message and press delete. Instead of just deleting all messages at once, you have to scroll for hours deleting thousands of messages. Knowing you could just put a button to delete all, instead you made everyone suffer by deleting each message. I want to delete all my messages on a DM with a friend and it’s taking too long. Nobody wants to sit here for hours deleting messages when you could literally just click one button, taking less than 5 minutes. Think how easier and happier customers will be with 5 minutes, because nobody wants to delete messages for atleast an hour. Think this through, and please, fix this. I love discord, but at this state mind as well use messages.

Worst customer support. Discord, a platform somehow worse than Facebook, because at least Facebook support uses real humans. Recently, my account was disabled under pretense of “Selling Cracked Accounts or hacks”. As I’ve done no such thing, I contact support. 7 hours pass, I get a reply from their automated bot saying they won’t reinstate my account. Wouldn’t be an issue, I’d be able to keep going with emails if it wasn’t for the fact Discord full on deletes your account, with no way to recover it. All of this following me trying to apply for a Bilingual Japanese Customer Support job for the company, and purchased a full year of their Nitro Subscription. Not only are they wasting time, but they refuse to give me actual human contact. My long-running account of 3 years is doomed to perish, and it’s all in the hands of The Discord Messiahs. There’s a reason everyone complains about the discord support, and how often they get falsely terminated just to speak to a degrading robot. If only they had a better support team, or even just helped me not lose an account after I conveniently drop a huge amount of cash on their service, something so I don’t lose contacts I’ve built. Only one can hope, and I’m sure the Discord Staff reply to this review will be just as robotic, if they’re even able to stomach reading this review, since I know they’re not too keen on criticism.

My accounts. My main discord account just magically signed me out and i know the password but it said it didn't work so i register and trembling because i lost all my friends, but then it magically signed me out again, i quit using discord, my account ElliottLian#4141 remains dead and never work, if you read this discord please bring my account back, or saying the token expired because i tried making a new password for my main discord account but it never works and another attempt it said token expired, i keep waiting and finally doesn't say token expired, and when i made a new password for my main discord account and remembered it, i was in a joyful mood, ready to login. But when i did, it just said it didn't work, i put it correctly and never work. I was crying, never meeting my friends I've met a long time ago when i started discord. I miss them, discord ruined my relationships with other people. If your reading this discord, please don’t mess this up for other people, you might ruin their day. Also, if you get a chance to revive my account send me a dm in gmail so i can see. You have ruined all my relationships. Good bye discord, its nice having you for a long time, but its time for me to go to another path of light, where it will never crap itself. Goodbye, Discord.

New UI is practically unusable. Usually it doesn’t take me more than a day or two to get used to a new user interface but this update is SO bad and SO illogical that even after a WEEK I’m still struggling to find where things are. There are so many terrible things to discuss, like the new location of DMs and the way it’s laid out with your contacts in a weird row at the top. But the worst to me is the new search “function” - why are there two places to perform a search? Why add a channel-only search when it was incredibly easy to filter by channel in a server-wide search? Why is the channel-only search almost exactly where the general search used to be so a gesture I’ve been performing for my entire three years as a Discord user leads me to incredible frustration until I remember y’all screwed it up? And what even are these search categories - why are images showing up in both ‘media’ and ‘files’ when I’m desperately searching for a PDF I sent but can’t filter to JUST files? Bummed to have to cancel my Nitro over this but I doubt you’ll get the point unless it hits y’all in the profit margin. Wait omg I submitted this review and then came back because I’d forgotten to mention the glitches!! It lags so badly now, and it WILL NOT clear unread message notifications even when I’ve tried over and over to clear them.

The New Update is Horrendous. No one asked for the new mobile UI update, I have heard zero positive views on it, and I dislike it so much I almost hate it. I can no longer slide my screen, I have to tap to get places, and it’s so incredibly disorganized. I do not like that I have to click on the “server” or “messages” option to switch between DMs and servers when I could’ve easily swiped to see my servers, my DMs, channel information, DM information, etc. It’s very clunky and serves no purpose. I can’t see people’s statuses very easily, I can’t tell which of my friends are online and offline, and while I think the addition of the icons at the top of the screen showing what people may be playing or listening to is nice, I don’t like how it’s showing users who aren’t my friends. I only want to see what my friends are doing, not random people I DMed once from a server I barely talk in. It’s a pain to get to pinned messages in channels and DMs and now I can’t see previews for links or images/files when looking at pinned messages. It just says the file name and I then have to click on yet another thing to see what image it’s trying to show me or what link I was sent. It’s not helpful in the slightest. Please for the love of goodness, change things back this update is ridiculous and no one likes it or wanted it in the first place.

Good on PC but on mobile.... Perfect on PC, well... the camera mode on PC nearly broke my PC and broke my discord, so I had to delete it. So I used the online version and it does work and so when it was broke on my PC I was trying to fix it but I gave up after a while, so I downloaded it on mobile to be able to talk to my friend because he can’t call or text. So I go on the mobile version of discord and I like to talk to him and the sound is broke. I can hardly hear him, so I turn up the volume, doesn’t work, turn up the discord volume, doesn’t work, and finally I turn up his volume so I can hear him better, (and you wouldn’t guess this) IT DOES NOT WORK. Only then do I find the online, but I do want to play with him when I’m not at my house and I hope it works this time. The only reason I gave it 5 ⭐️’s because it helps me reach my friends that I can’t call or text and it works well when I don’t use the camera, and I could get in contact with online friends that I don’t know irl without giving to much information but I get to talk with them. I hope to get a developer response explaining why I had problems.

Best app so far.. As for all of the reviews claiming for this app to be bug filled and laggy, it’s not an issue as of discord itself. It’s a personal user mistake and wifi connectivity problem. I have been using discord for years, about six now, and I have never had an issue with lag or bugs. Even with all of the new updates. Only once has the calling been unavailable but that was because discord put it on hold to fix a connectivity issue, since discord calls aren’t the clearest out there. I would definitely recommend this app to friends and family to keep in contact. I’ve created a whole community on discord and brought many people together, even saved lives. And I’m not being dramatic. This app gives people a way to vent and learn new things, meet new people, make connections. I met the love of my life on this app and now we live together in person, in our own apartment! I’ve never been more happy. And before you call me some old nerd with a joy for gaming, I’m actually not a gamer, and I’m only 18 years old. (: I recommend discord! It’s helped me through so much!

Please help. Discord is a great alternative to other apps, I got it because I was in a group and that group required you having Discord, and at first it was really complicated but then I got a hang of things. The problem started randomly, what would happen is whenever I open Discord it goes completely black, like the first time this happened I literally thought my IPad died, but nope. I closed the application, and on the screen, it showed “discord” but the app screen was almost empty discord was going very faint, and I can’t do anything on discord, I deleted it and reinstalled it multiple times. Still, nothing changed, idk what to do now, because when my clan is hosting a training or a patrol to get promoted, we NEED to be in Voice Chat. This has been limiting my ability to be a active member in my clan, the only way I can use Voice Chat or chat or other servers is by using my phone. But using a iPad to play games, and a phone to communicate is really hard. Other than this I have had no problems whatsoever. This would have been a five star but this issue has made things VERY difficult. Please Help.

Opening profiles while in a voice channel needs reverted. I just updated from a really old version of discord mobile so I don’t know how long it has been this way, but the way you open people’s profiles while in a voice channel is not a good mechanic. It used to be that you would press and hold for a short period of time and the profile popup would appear. Now, you have to press and hold for an unknown amount of time, just some time that is deemed “long enough” defined in the UI design, and then the profile appears (with volume slider, individual mute button etc) on release of the press and hold. I don't understand the purpose of this mechanic, or if this is a bug, but it is definitely not something I enjoy having to deal with when I’m in a voice channel and need to access someones profile popup while in the channel. Otherwise, the app seems to still be well laid out. This was the primary thing I noticed that drastically changed and it is not a short timer for the press and hold as was previously. It is definitely longer, then this combined with the activate on release behavior makes this difficult to use.

awful UI, inaccessible, eyesore. new update went through despite the fact that I have updates for everything turned off. mobile layout now functionally useless and actively frustrating to navigate. no more swiping to see who’s online, group dms/ dms are in a different menu you have to navigate to separate from servers, no more swiping in and out of chats, useless and distracting clutter at top of dms/group dms sidebar. and that’s just what i’ve noticed from my 2 seconds using it since, because i have been unable and unwilling to use it again after the update. not only is it unintuitive and the exact opposite of the previously ergonomic setup, it’s just really, awfully, truly ugly. coming from someone who used to work in graphic design. clunky. inaccessible. so bad i will honestly delete my mobile app and move platforms if it persists, despite the fact that i have used discord near-daily for the last 5+ years. makes opening discord on mobile dread-inducing. there is no option to revert, no response to the two support tickets i sent in, and the new color change (which you also can’t change back) has poor contrast and has been causing me headaches and eye strain. if i could give one star i would. if you want to use discord anymore, don’t get the app: it’s a waste of mobile space.

Great, just a few problems.. This app is very very good but has some bugs... One is if you tap on a msg to dm someone then go to user settings it bugs out and the message typing thing will be at the bottom of the user settings preventing me to access and leave the user settings and forces me to restart the app. Another bug I have with this app is that I’ve noticed whenever I join a call the app constantly makes my phones screen black as if it keeps constantly putting my phone to sleep. And my last problem is that I’m a nitro user and I constantly change my profile every now and then, and when I select the animated profile I want to use it displays it as if it were a normal profile picture and when I go to save it my profile picture won’t update.... I deleted the app and tried again and then it changed so it seems like I have to deleted and reinstall the app just to change my profile picture. Nonetheless it’s a pretty nice app if you ignore the problems that it has as they are easy to ignore. The only problem that really bugs me is the blackout screen thing when I’m in a call with my friends my other friends have that problem too and we have no idea if there is a fix for it.

Help. This app logged me out several times and it won't let me log in no matter how many accounts I make. It logged me out, but I already saved my acc password and user, so I tried using that. It failed saying that the email was not registered so I thought "oh it's no big deal I can just try registering again with the same email cause it says the email is apparently 'not registered' yet" so I did that and THEN sit said that the email was 'already registered' Okay WHAT?! So I tried creating an acc again, it failed. I tried signing back IN again, still a fail. And I know it's not my technology glitching our non kyle and that it's apps fault be no matter how many devices I tried to switch to, it still wouldn't work. I used to like this app a bit before this stuff started happened cause this app is really good for like if your friend dosent have a phone and can only text on pc or something like that and it's also good for gaming and streaming I guess but if you keep getting logged out, there's no point of giving the app a good review, especially if your like me and have been downloading and deleting the app several times with no success and have literally been trying this for over 4 DAYS STRAIGHT!!!! The developers) should really fix this problem before it gets a lot more bad reviews due to this glitch.

Unable to Send Messages Glitch. I use Discord every single day on PC and have never encountered noticeable glitches, but the Discord app is getting on my last nerve. The app has had this glitch where the send button suddenly doesn’t work anymore. It’s not just the send button, but the emoji tab won’t work either. You can still type and even scroll left to right and see your DM info and server list, but all of the buttons freeze up and don’t work. I literally have to copy my message, fully close out of the app 2 or 3 times, deleting the half saved DM still remaining in the text bubble each time I reopen, and then finally, usually after the 3rd time, it will be functioning again and I’ll have to paste and send my message. I’m writing this after having gone through that process just for my phone to lose what I had copied, not giving me the option to paste, losing everything I had typed. This glitch has me asking my friends to download different apps because we’re all getting so frustrated with it while trying to communicate during work or school hours. Y’all have a LOT of money, I know you can do better and fix it.

It could’ve been better... It’s actually a really good app but once I accidentally Unfriended someone and couldn’t send them request again cause I did not know their tag number , I wish we could see our Unfriended people list but I can’t even when I got the discord data package I even tried emailing the support team but they did not even reply to emails, and still I try to contact that person who is very important to me but I don’t get any response because I know that person always uses discord but yea.... Or instead of showing the unfriended people list I wish we could just search the user or a feel letters of a user and then there could be a lot of users with tag numbers instead of user name and tags number to send that person a friend request but when you search some person up any user with the similar name it still doesn’t show up , and you can’t even have your own profile so others can see who you are and if they want to send a friend request. Major Features Don’t Work For Me. For some reason, whenever I click on a link to join a person’s discord server, it will direct me to the app and it won’t do anything else. I don’t join their server, and I don’t know how to fix it. The website would always direct me to the app no matter what, so I can’t just do it on the discord website. Also, when I upload an audio file, say from Google Drive, that file is no longer accessible to me. If I download that same file from Discord, it won’t play any sound. It’s just a corrupted file. These two things are how I use this app, and if it can’t function properly, than the app serves no purpose to me. And whenever I do to their website to try to use Discord from there, it keeps “suggesting” me to download the app. It’s just a huge headache that isn’t worth the trouble. This is just a nit-pick, but I wish there was a feature were there was a search engine to look for public discord servers and join through that, rather than using a link alone. It’ll make things a lot more easier than searching far and wide to see if a particular creator or influencer has a Discord server, let alone a link to join automatically. The links can be used to join private discord servers instead.

Suggestions for an already great app. I love the features, I often rescue kids from the Amino Communities and show them the quality differences for communication. There’s a lot of secret quirks you find out from other users and I think it’s a good way of differentiating newbs to the OGs. However with all of the cool things I’d like to be able to have a few features that I’ve seen in other apps added one day. For instance backgrounds for the channels ((could be nitro feature)) make it easier to submit transparent stickers on Apple mobile. I have to get on the PC site and it’s such a hardship when I have to mess around on the site that isn’t meant to be seen on mobile. And for the censors || || maybe keep people from screenshotting the message after you uncensor it. I’ve seen photo editing apps do it so I’m sure we could squeeze the feature into Discord. ALSO:: can we get rid of the emoji conversion? I’m pretty sure if someone wanted to send an actual emoji they would. Otherwise everyone probs want to stick to the keyboard aesthetic. Over all a sturdy and nice app once you get accustomed to it. As a newb things seem very cluttered and you just have to figure it out on your own :/

Forced update. I like discord-or, well I liked discord-but I didn’t sign up for automatic updates and that’s what they did here. My entire mobile discord changed and when I went to write this review, I saw that there’s an option to update, which was like an insult almost. For starters, when I sideswipe to the right now, rather than go to my members list of a server, it replies a message. The reply part would have been a good part but having it replace member swiping was…a choice. The UI change was also bad. They didn’t even have the decency to do a tutorial of where everything is, I only found out where the members list was after clicking through everything (it’s in the channel name now). The background of a vc is now a sunset type of color, which again would be fine, but my friend who uses midnight mode and my other friend who uses dark mode both said it looked the same. I use light mode and it looks the same. I haven’t found an option to change it and, I suspect, I will not (in fact, I suspect they might charge for the privilege to change it, which is very cynical of me, but I have no more good will towards this app). I don’t think I can, in good conscience, recommend anyone use this app or spend money on it, and the second there’s a good alternative to discord, I am going to jumping ship.

New Update. I've been on different accounts on Discord since 2019, many of my friends have been around since 2016 and we all hate the new update. It's a shame to see that the toggle was removed; it was a great choice to keep it for those who were uncomfortable with the new layout while also allowing the ones who enjoyed it to be able to experience the freshness of it. Seeing how Discord has basically told its users, especially the ones who are paying, to simply "get used to it", I would no longer recommend this app to people anymore. How can the users get used to something buggy and inconvenient? Users appreciated the simplicity of the old format and being able to get everything done with a few swipes. Many people are now bringing up the issue of bugs, being unable to upload files, slow messaging, delayed notifications, etc. I personally am experiencing crashes and am unable to navigate the new system. Again, how can the users get used to something buggy and inconvenient? It's a shame to see how Discord is responding to those who are giving out constructive criticism and feedback. It is no longer worth spending the money on an app that doesn't listen to its majority of users. Bring the "new layout" toggle back. There was nothing wrong with the old layout.

Update looks like a cheap and overdone version of Facebook Messenger. It’s overwhelming, unoriginal, messy, and forceful. They now changed the colors when you are in a call, make you see what random people are doing in server you are at when in dms. I personally hate it so much, to the bare minimum it would be nice to be able to choose some things such as where the dms are and the background color of calls. This two things would make me accept it a bit more because I just hate how it looks and how inconvenient some changes are. It’s so uncomfortable to navigate now, and straight up just ugly and just looks like another knock off facebook Messenger, discord was so original and beneficial with it’s set up, now goes backwards trying to copy what it’s being mostly used. The only thing I really liked was files, likes and images having a spot in server and dms. But everything else can just go back to normal, please. Or, let us choose some things at least. The way servers are distributed is so bad, I get the slide reply, it is nice, but there could be rather a double slide kind of format o double tap?? Bare minimum let me change the background colors, i’m begging.

The worst form of social media. Out of all of the social media platforms I’ve tried, discord I would say is the most toxic of them. And it’s not because the employees and staff working at discord are mean, or anything, it’s because of the nature of the setup discord chooses to use. Essentially when you join a server, the guidelines you have are the ones the owner sets for you. Larger servers are often governed by mods. But the problem is that these mods generally don’t have too many qualifications to be a moderator. And when the mods are ineffective at creating a safe environment, that’s when toxic behavior thrives. Discord does have some policies, on its ToS but these are generally very simple rules, and are few and far between. I’ve had many terrible experiences on servers where toxic behavior is present and the mods either do nothing about it or they take the wrong course of action. Now this isn’t something discord has much control over, but rather design of the website in it’s entirety is flawed. I wouldn’t recommend this app to people who who are not in a healthy state of mind, or to anyone in general. However I guess discord works for some people and if you find that this style of social media works for you then by all means download it. But do be prepared for possible toxic behavior thrown your way.

Used to love you.. So when I first came across discord I loved it. It was a free social media platform where as long as you didn’t offend your friends everything was kind of a free for all. There was acceptance, old friends, new friends, some people I’ve come to call family. I met my fiancé in a discord server… 5 years ago I had nothing but good to say about it. However with every update they have put out things have grown worse and worse rather than better. I know why they don’t want negative public reviews and want you to tell them privately… it’s a save face moment. But I have to say… discord used to compress files so well I could pop off 5 photos at once without nitro their premium service. Now? I can’t pop off a single one because they retracted the auto decompression without adding a manual option… why? So you have to buy a monthly nitro. I’m not foolish. I’ve been coding servers there for almost 5 years now. If you can’t be good to your customers and honest to boot? Your customers will leave. They will grow tired of your greed. I won’t pay for something I used to get for free. Especially not when its barely what I used to get for free. I might think different if it was at least twice the value but it’s not it’s the exact same value as before. it’s the free value at a cost now. I’m as disappointed here as I am Facebook now.

New mobile UI is trash.. I love discord, I’ve been using it as my main form of online communication for many many years now. Whenever there would be an update where certain things would change slightly, I was always okay with it and got used to it in no time. However, in the most recent update the user interface did a complete 360 from what it was before and now it looks and feels horrible. Discord’s interface was what set it apart from other messaging apps, once you figured it out it was comfortable and easy to navigate. Now, it is not only clunky and unnecessary, but it also forces us long-time discord users to completely relearn how to use the app. Also, the new look of video calls is horrid too. The space for the preview that you see yourself in is now much much smaller, so much so that if you’re more than like 8 inches away from your phone, you can’t see yourself. Changing it from a rectangle to a square is dumb too, because now you can’t see everything that your camera is capturing. You can’t see what’s actually in frame and what’s not. I know I’m not the only one who’s upset either. I believe the majority of discord users would agree with me that we want this UI gone. or at LEAST an option to revert it. Stop changing things Discord!! Your app was perfect how it was before!!!

Good way to interact with friends or family. I normally do not use discord when I don't have to but I actually have the app just so that I'm able to stay in contact with the people that I know and love. Discord is a pretty safe place as it only allows you to add people that you know personally because when adding someone, it ask for their name of their account and the 4 digit number that comes with it which I personally believe is really good as it doesn't allow for you to just randomly talk to random strangers on the internet. Another thing is that I like it because the app also allows you to play games on there while chatting with friends on discord. Sometimes I would be messaging a friend I know on discord and he'd be playing whatever game and I'd still be able to message him because while he plays and interact with me which I personally think is cool, and convenient as it allows for message interactions and gaming time. And I'm the type of person to message a lot of my friends and family on the app itself. I do believe that this is a good place to stay more connected to those that you know and love.

New UI is a serious problem. I'd been avoiding updating my app after hearing and seeing the new UI change, but it was forced through anyways. The new UI layout it clunky, unintuitive, and unnecessarily complicated. It now takes several taps and swipes to find what you need, the search bar only search within the channel you are actively in unless you scroll to the top of the server and use that other search bar (WHY would you make two search bars?! It's not just redundant it's ruining something that worked perfectly beforehand) The developers need to take the community's opinions on this UI to heart and radically overhaul the layout to be an 'improvement' instead of whatever this unappealing and needlessly restrictive current design. Better yet, revert the change ENTIRELY to what it was before and then take steps to improve the layout from there because clearly this is a drastic downgrade in accessibility compared to what it was prior. I'm cancelling my nitro immediately because of this update. Why purchase for quality of life upgrades and aesthetics when the system itself is now so terrible. Hear the voice of the community. You will and are losing money over this, so get it through to your team that changes are supposed to improve things, not flip them on their head in annoying ways that nobody asked for and nobody likes.

My Favorite Social App, But.... I’ve been using Discord for about a year and half now, the app for maybe a year. They’re been a lot of improvements since then that I was happy to see. The CallKit was definitely not one of them. I wish there was an option to at least disable it. I don’t like my Discord calls showing up in my history. I don’t like Discord calls ringing on my phone like a normal call. Also, I’ve had a lot of audio problems since it was added. My alarm goes off? Can’t hear or talk anymore, have to leave and rejoin the call. Someone calls my phone? I can’t just mute my mic and answer anymore. I have to hang up. And even if I decline the call? Audio problems. Can’t hear. I also hardly ever get proper notifications anymore. People send me messages, but I don’t realize I get them because the sound doesn’t go off while I’m in a call. A few times I just never got a notification at all. And I’ve missed a lot of calls because Discord never rang. I actually like the new update that lets you choose whether or not to use speaker. I was sad to see the option go, so I’m glad it’s back. Wish speaker was default though. Still, it’s nice to have the option.

Please change it back.. I recently got the new update with the new set up and I’m not a fan personally. I love discord as a app for communicating with friends and I’ve had it for but this new set up is way to complex. I liked swiping on the screen to see the members in a chat or being able to swipe over and see the servers I’m in. This new set up is just more complicated than it needs to be switching between chats and servers would be as easy as a simple swipe before but now we have to click the back button or swipe out and switch to messages or servers depending whichever you’re trying to access. Don’t get me wrong I get why this change was made but this is just going to continue to confuse old users. I’m even confused on certain things such as how you view all the members on your server. I’ve had discord for a little longer than 3 years now and to have such a sudden change in the format is just going to confuse us and make us unhappy. I’ve seen multiple people complain about it on discord already, so please consider changing it back or letting us have to option to change it to the other format.

Maybe it’s Me. Let me start by saying that I’ve used the mobile app before and had no issues previously. However, ever since I switched to my iPad Air 4th gen, I hav heard nothing but problems with the app. For one, I can’t use it while it’s in the background. Before, I could use the app while doing other things, such as using the internet browser. Nowadays, if I leave the app, everything on my end stops working. I can’t hear anyone speaking, my mic doesn’t pick up my voice, nothing works. This problem persists even if I disconnect and reconnect. Most annoyingly this problem will persist even if I restart the app. The only solution I’ve found is to restart the entire tablet. The above is already problem enough but I figured if I just stay on the app without leaving, I wouldn’t have the same issues. Nope, I still encounter the above issues after a certain amount of time with no reason for it. The only reason I’m not sure if it’s discord or my iPad Air is that I don’t encounter these same problems on a different iPad. It’s only on my iPad Air do these problems occur. But I have tried everything from updating both the app and the iPad, to deleting the app and reinstalling. Nothing has worked and I’m stuck with the problems.

Discord you need to see this. Dear discord, Right now I’m extremely mad and furious, you want to know why you may ask? Well I figure there is a lot of bugs in your app that you may not know of. First I made a discord account that I loved with a group and a lot of a friends, I also was attending groups and having fun until I was wanting to invited people to my group. It showed up a picture saying this “Somethings going on here” it also says this “we’ve detected something out of the ordinary going on. To continue using discord, we will need you to verify you account” so I was like no big deal right? So I did everything. I put in my number, I put in the verification number, until it got down to my password. I was like “oh I know my password in a heart beat. So I put the password in. It was correct to I thought when I hit done it will bring me back to the page with my friend. When I hit done, it brought me to are you a robot thing. So I did the task and I was done so I hit verify. And guess what... I hit done again.. it loaded.. and did nothing. I was having a full panic attack. So I deleted the app and did the whole thing over again. Yes all over again. Same thing happened. So I don’t know if it’s a bug or you guys want people to get so angry. No-Sign In Bug Problem. Hey I’ve been using Discord for about a year now, and I’ve mainly used it to chat and communicate with friends, explore and stuff. But I just recently got a new phone and I wanted to install Discord so I could transfer data on it. The downloading part was easy, but as soon as I opened the app, I got stuck on the main screen loading screen for what felt like eons. And no matter how hard I tried to figure out what the problem was it always brought me back to that same screen. I literally did all that someone with that issue would be expected to do, I reset the app, uninstalled it then downloaded it back again, checked for updates, and looked at tutorials online to see if I’d missed a step. Not to mention that when I tried to long into your web browser, it kept rejecting my pass. And there was no “Login with Google” option either. I don’t know whether or not I’m the only one experiencing this error, but I feel it’s happened one time too many to be ignored. Please look into this. But overall, the app works pretty well.

The app was AMAZING until this happened... First off, Discord was super good and I had my old account for like over 2-3 years, but one day I was just chilling listening to music and I go to text one of my friends on Discord, and I was signed out of my account. I thought it was just a glitch and brushed it off, so I went to sign back in and it said my account was disabled! This has been a recent glitch, and it happened to two of my friends and they got their accounts back, so I just wrote the Discord team an e-mail stating that my account was falsely disabled and I wish to have it back, but about a day later they finally responded saying that my account was permanently disabled for “breaking the TOS and Community Guidelines”???? I had that account for over 2-3 years and I had a bunch of important stuff and friends that I still haven’t talked to since on there because I only knew them on Discord and no other app and I forgot their usernames. I also had a whole server, that I now can’t do anything with anymore because my main account was the creator of the server. But I have never broke the TOS or Community Guidelines. But other than the random disabling accounts glitch the app is great.

Discord hates their community.. Let me preface this by saying that I’ve been an active user on Discord since July 2015. I’ve been in countless communities, and actively been invested in Discord’s mission for almost a decade now. That being said, it is becoming increasingly aware that Discord no longer cares about the community that made them what they are. Adding bloat features, such as the nitro only profile cosmetic shop, unnecessary popups for purchasing nitro, or forcing strangers’ activities onto your client, all of this serves to slow down the program, with no option to opt out. Anti accessibility features are becoming more apparent, (one of their blog posts literally implies they know this is an issue, but ‘get used to it’) forcing a new ux onto users with vision problems, with no option to revert to something that doesn’t harm them to use. I am personally affected by this, because a certain friend of mine (who is blind) can no longer use the app. Discord customer service is no longer run by people, only a bot that will paste the same response on every twitter post or app review. I was once comfortable and even proud to use this app, but this company is now actively hostile towards it’s userbase. Check out Revolt Chat for an open source communication app that won’t push microtransactions and bloat onto your device.

Fantastic on Mobile/Desktop, Needs to Be Ported to Other Platforms. Let me get one thing straight. I love using Discord as a platform for chatting with friends, playing games together, etc. There are a few minor bugs I could do without (the first one that pops into my mind is how if a message is sent almost exactly as I switch to another channel, flipping back to the first channel won’t get rid of the notification unless I switch off it and switch back), but overall, it works fantastically. I especially love being able to search up GIFs on mobile. That was definitely needed. The only thing I’d request is that the team would bring the Discord app to other platforms; namely, console platforms. Currently, I can’t stream my console gameplay to Voice Channels because I can’t easily access Discord on console. While typing on a console keyboard would be a nightmare and a half, I imagine streaming and voice channels would work beautifully, as that’s exactly how party chats tend to work. I’d be willing to put up with getting out my phone to type quickly in a channel if I could join a Voice Channel and stream to it from my console.

Confusing And Difficult. I downloaded discord for school related reasons, at first it worked fine, no issues with logging in and the app seemed to be user friendly. As I started to use the app more and join and leave servers I noticed that discord was extremely confusing and not straight forward what so ever. Correct me if I’m wrong but discord is supposed to be an app for quick and easy communication with people you know or don’t know. A fun place to meet other and talk. If discord is promoting itself to be this exciting and nice app for everyone then they should first fix their issues regarding logins, verifications, emails, phone numbers, and overall user friendliness. I tried going to their support page through the app and even then the app would not give me a clear idea or explanation to fix any of the issues I’ve come across. Now whenever I try to login with email or phone number discord tells me that the email/phone number is already being used for a different account or the email doesn’t exist. Seriously, I get safety and all but it has gotten to a point where I literally cannot even use the app because it will not allow me to login. Luke is aid previously, I need to be able to access this app and account for school related reasons and now I am behind in my courses for the semester because my issues with this app.

Suggestion: Please Read.. Hello there ‘Discord’, I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Now, this app has always been amazing. I’ve never really had a problem and to do this day no complaints. Complaints and suggestions, two things often misunderstood. But I am here to say I am not making a complaint. All i suggest is that we have the same options as computer users. I’d like to change my game status on my mobile phone because obviously i’m not able to take my computer just anywhere with me. The games mode isn’t available in the app or web login unless it’s on the computer. It slightly bums me out but since discoed has always been such a great app i overlook it. I think everyone would be happy if the game status option would be on mobile as well. Playing on the go IS a thing. Why not add it for us too? All in all that is my suggestion, the ability to change my game status on mobile just like in my computer. Yes, I understand that this may take time. But it is worth waiting for and I know you and your team can accomplish it. Thank you for reading and have a great rest of your day. Mobile app has issues. Discord works great on a desktop computer/laptop, other than finding the right chat room and general navigation issues like getting a message noise but never seeing the message because you were in a voice chat room. Could use a redesign. Like why isn’t voice just enable in the same chat room so there’s no switching back and forth? However, this review is for the mobile app. It doesn’t work. Every time I do so much as sneeze (another app notification/text message comes in, if I get a phone call, etc.) the app stops working. I get that the voice should stop but after switching apps and coming back or after ending the phone call, the Discord app never recovers and must be restarted, rejoin the room, and then it works...for a while. Until almost anything else happens. Worst of all, when my phone falls asleep, so does Discord, sometimes. It’s unpredictable when I’m just randomly disconnected from Discord. My friend reported his phone calls not coming through when he’s on a Discord voice channel. Not sure which problem is worse. I’d highly recommend using a different app. Often, my friends and I just use a phone conference call. And I can send a text message while on a phone call. So how does this app improve my gaming other than taking bandwidth from my gaming?

Pretty Good. All in all, it's a great app. In fact, I'd say it's nearly perfect on PC. However, there are some features on PC that you can just not access on mobile. For example, you can't change privacy settings to turn off DMs on a certain server, which can be a struggle for people with, uh, fans. Another thing is that you can't change somebody's role on mobile, which is very aggravating. I'm a moderator on a server and we have a specific role to give to misbehaving people which prevents them from sending messages. But, I can only do my job as moderator if I'm on my PC, because mobile won't let me change roles. In addition, for whatever reason, certain pictures refuse to upload, and it’s not the channel settings because it’s only with certain pictures (only on mobile). The last thing I recommend, which is currently neither on mobile or PC, is having some version of read receipts for DMs. I know that's probably gonna be controversial, but I personally know that some of my friends are big YouTubers, so they get caught up, and forget. However, if I was able to tell if they'd read my message, I'd be able to yell at — er, uh, talk to them about it.

What Once Was Fun…. …has now become far less so for me. As a writer by hobby, I love using a Bluetooth keyboard with my iPad, making it easier to type up documents, messages and such without having to lose the tactile effect of a real keyboard. However, the most recent updates to this app, which I used to communicate with a small group of friends, have brought a crushing blow to my enjoyment of it. Up until recently, when using my Bluetooth keyboard, I could hit the “Enter” key to send messages, but now… now it only causes a line break into a new paragraph in a message, which used to be tied to the Shift+Enter combination exclusively. And there is no button in the settings menu of the iOS app to change this. I could easily forgive if this update aspect had simply swapped the functions of Enter and Shift+Enter, but removing the “Enter to send” functionality entirely? No. This is an absolutely appalling decision on the part of the developers, and I would strongly urge them to change it back, or else give users the option to choose whether to use it or not, and/or to what key or key combination they would rather bind the function. Otherwise, many users who, like me, have developed a muscle memory to hit Enter to send messages will continue to have a problem with what was once a glorious app.

New UI. Look, I’m one of the few that can still actively switch between the two UI layouts; however, I want to speak on behalf of all of the people who are FORCED to use the new layout. The moment it was introduced eight months ago, I HATED the new layout. It’s one thing if you want to do a total overhaul on the app and change everything to make it better overall, but this is a GIGANTIC step backwards. Forcing your users to work with a layout that is inconvenient and so different is just ridiculous. Hoping people get used to it over time is not going to fix the issue at hand. Make it optional. It was optional for eight months for the people who originally got to experience this new UI, so make it optional again. Literally a “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” situation. The app wasn’t “fixed” it wasn’t “made better” it was made worse and more inconvenient. I will continue to use the old UI unless it becomes impossible for me to do so. Make it right Discord. You’re doing wrong by so many people and it’s extremely aggravating and infuriating. Make this an optional layout. I guarantee this will make many people a lot happier. If you truly care about your users, you will honor their wish. Until then, the app has been made nearly unusable. Fix it.

Has potential to be good, if they change the UI back…. I’ve been using Discord since 2017, and throughout most of the time I’ve had the mobile app the UI has stayed pretty much the same. However, their most recent update, for whatever reason, decided to completely overhaul the UI and replace it with a new and worse one (think Facebook style.) It’s slow to navigate, hard to look at, and the new art style is just corporate blandness. I initially hated when they removed the ability to swipe left on a server page to see who was online, but grew complacent to it because i have better things to do than whine about one small feature being removed. But this new update completely changed the way the app is used all at once, and not in a functional way like Apple does with their big IOS updates that take a minute to get used to but are better in the long run. They even got rid of the classic Discord gray, which honestly is their biggest mistake. Whatever new shade they used makes the white text stand out way to sharply and glare off the screen even in regular light. Discord devs, idk if you’ve gone corporate because you have a monopoly on this style of communication app, but please listen to your users on this one and change the app back. The new one is really a change for the worse.

Great so far, but add updates for mobile.. It’s an amazing app! There’s just some things that I hate, like add some mobile updates? The updates you guys add to pc should also head to mobile too. After all, it’s an amazing app I recommend you guys to download it. I have just saw that you guys just made the app 17+, coming from a 15 year old I think you guys should make it back too like to 13+ because people older then 13 have already downloaded it (like me). Also think you should allow us to type more then the limit of 2000 it gets very annoying, for example your gonna write a paragraph for someone and it’s very important and it’s about 5000 word long. Even though it has some issues, very amazing app and I’m always on there for like 8 hours a day to talk with friends and stuff! I’m always making servers In discord, but I think you should really do something about those hyphens and get rid of it so we can have our own fonts to add and watch out for what you do to your app, because people underage are now faking there age and when they were born, I once saw my 8 year old sister in discord! Please watch out.

Decent app but support is nonexistent. My account was hacked 2 weeks ago. Filled out a ticket and was told my case was “escalated to a team member.” After that complete silence. All of my follow up inquiries were completely ignored and did not receive a response when I asked how long the process takes. Malicious bots have always been an issue with discord and now I understand why. The support team does absolutely nothing get the accounts back to their owners and actually allows the bots to run rampant. Extremely disappointing support from probably the largest voice chat service. Edit: sweet. Developer response. Maybe it will be helpful. Oh, nope. Just telling me to go through the same avenues that are already ignoring me. Guess since they recommend to submit a new ticket if you don’t get a response, I’ll have to clog the system with a new ticket every couple hours until someone responds Final edit: Rather than transferring control back to me, Discord deleted the account. So bear that in mind before you pay for anything in the app. Customer service will take over 5 weeks to respond, and when they finally do, they will take the absolute shortest route. They will cut corners in order to provide the minimum support required no matter what it costs to us. We do not matter to them at all.

TL;DR Too Many Updates. I love Discord, it has helped me in so many ways, gaming, interpersonally, working, I have used it with so many aspects in my life and I probably will continue to use it until my friends and I move on to a different service. I enjoy being able to send an instant message and edit it if I need to add or correct something, I like that it can be personalized with an emoji or the like and servers bring communities together. My only complaint is now with so many updates, gone is the simplicity, gone is the uniqueness of the service and in comes being like everything else. Every update it seems less to do about giving to the users and becoming more about business. And every year incompatibility issues arrise. What’s messed up now? Notifications, Voice Calls disconnecting when trying to multitask or random disconnects, Streaming requiring more and more resources, even Discord itself becoming more of a social media platform than an instant messaging/gaming integrated app. Maybe it’s just me but, personally I don’t exactly like where Discord is headed, and I’ll probably see everyone in the next platform, whatever it may be. The next “Myspace/Facebook”.

New Dec 2023 Update.. If you’re expecting the discord you know and love from gaming on your laptop. You’re sourly mistaken. It looks nothing like the discord you know and love, it’s purposely different almost as if it’s a rip of discord of itself. Navigating, managing, and messaging is hard. Those who are easily effected by sensory issues, like myself, had had a hard time navigating the app through all the different colors. At first it blended but now you have your nitro app theme, the whole discord layout, and profile differences. (However ik it can be a fix for profile theme wise but then it forces u into midnight/gray) It feels unwelcoming and confusing at the same time, it does not navigate like before and some basic functions are even gone. Discord’s support then mentions about how the user base must get used to it instead of hearing out its live feedback audience. The app bugs worse, it will glitch from the original UI to the new one. It will copy text after it’s sent. I don’t receive notifications between servers and messages regularly. I cant tell whose online or noticing status’ unless I go out of my way to look at them from the user itself. This makes me not want to enjoy mobile anymore, and I’m sure many others could agree. If you’re going to improve discord, don’t make it feel like a separate space.

The new image cropping isn’t as pleasing as it would be.. As someone who’s in servers where a lot of images get sent, mainly art or other little things, it’s quite infuriating having to deal with the cropping not showing the full images of the images being condensed. From what I know, we didn’t mind the long string of images taking up our screen, especially me, and I would’ve highly preferred if it was a toggle instead. Yes, this app is quite great and lovely, but maybe put light consideration into making certain things toggles as not everyone may enjoy them. I’ve seen the drama over it, or just merely people ranting about it if that’s a better term, but yes personally I think things like that that would be quite major should be a toggle. It makes life easier on everyone, as it generally seems quite a lot of people had preferred the older image method. Again, a lovely app, but some things like this just don’t seem too fun. It would be ten times better as a toggle to turn it back into the old way or keep it like that, and I hope you take this into at least slight consideration. Especially since it might be a bit worse on mobile for people.

Simply the best. I started to use discord around a year ago, with that said I use it for everything, I own a few gaming teams and it is so nice to communicate with other team members, other teams, etc etc, I also use discord to communicate with friends, teammates ( especially in games where a mic is not supported ) discord does not affect my frames which is something I enjoy, I can still play my favorite games with discord open without sacrificing graphics or frame, I also have a few servers which I moderate and using bot support I can easily put up chat filters to prevent people from using certain words that may be deemed inappropriate, setting discord up was surprisingly easy and I had no trouble what so ever, I have never been let down by discord either, there servers have never been down allowing me to always communicate the quality is purely amazing, for any game devs out there I would use this as this app allowed my favorite developers to host polls, show updates, and even do giveaways, simply put this is the best way of communication for any devs, gamers, or fans, and even friends and would highly suggest that you get this app
