Fun for mobile and I have ideas for 2. This game isn’t really as wacky creative as other games but as a mobile game it’s excellent, I’ve had my moments of totally zoning out while beating dudes up. Also pay for it as the ads and timers ruin it and it’s only 5 bucks. I’m mainly writing this to say it would be awesome to have online and local multiplayer in the main story because survival mode multiplayer gets lame fast. Halfbrick, I get that you’re working on some excellent looking projects right now but at least add this in dan the man 2. Also think outside the box for future enemies. My idea for one is a big guy who takes damage from hits but isn’t stunned and can’t be knocked down by most attacks. Thank you for reading halfbrick.

A lot of fun! Just a few things that bug me.... I ended up paying for premium, which wasn’t that expensive, and i really enjoy the game! I’m working on completing hard mode now! The things that get to me is that half of the moves I can upgrade I barely use because I don’t have the time to! If I have 10 enemies coming at me, I don’t have time to charge up a power attack, or even a sucker punch. So I feel like having those power ups don’t really help me with my game play. I also wish there was more of the story to play! Survival is okay, although I never really get anything from the token machine, 90% of what I’ve gotten so far has been 50 coins which I feel like is a rip off, and I don’t even really get anything from survival mode in general. And the adventures are tedious because I have to power up multiple characters just to get gold in them, and if I’m trying to do the story and level up the main character I use, then I feel like I’m wasting money trying to level up other characters just for the adventures. HOWEVER! I LOVE this game, it’s super addicting and I think it’s so much fun! I just wish it was longer!

A little problem... I had been playing this game and had been playing its for the longest, it’s my favorite! game on my phone but there a little problem...it has made me lose my progress sometimes, my game would sometimes freeze (crash) which is not a big problem to me because the gameplay is amazing with the action but when I am playing the game it crashes which make me have to reopen the whole app. And I have to start over or go back to the checkpoint to story-mode, but when I was playing a mode that was on the title screen, it randomly stopped and crashes. I try to play with that still going on. This game to me is the game I play everyday and all I want is to fix the crashes to make better gameplay and no more bugs.

OMG. This game is so fun I can’t Even handle it I extremely like it i’ve been having a blast I just download it today and this is my first time playing and this is the best game ever!!! And thank you half brick studios for making my favorite game everybody’s favorite game I really like it so I gave you guys a 10 out of 10 thank you very much!!!!😁😀 this is so much fun thank you half brick so much for making a awesome game and I was playing it I just saw about Barry have to spend money I was fighting a lot and the enemies were great I’ve been fighting a lot unlock some characters in the adventure mode and level mode by hitting the Bad guys made me more coins thank you very much for making a Dan The Man!!

A Masterpiece Being Held Back. Dan The Man is an amazing game, that can be compared to beat-em-up games of the old. And is probably one of the most real games I’ve played on a mobile device. But the overwhelming amount of ads you must watch Destroys the flow of gameplay! Every technical thing in this game requires you watching an ad, want to save progress? Ad. Need a little weapon or health from an item station? Ad. NEED TO PLAY THE NEXT LEVEL? AD! It’s to the point that this is the only game where I have found myself considering to buy a lackluster add on just to get rid of ads all together. To sum it up Dan The Man is a stellar game but the amount of ads is unbearable and destroys the flow of gameplay, and could’ve been handled much better with it maybe showing up in the pause screen or before and after a stage. It’s worth the try but if you are not someone fond of the waiting in many mobile games then it’s not worth the time.

Unplayable game. Now I know you guys have made the masterpiece that is Jetpack Joyride but this game, while fun to play, gets very annoying. First off, there are way too many ads in this game. Every new checkpoint, every death, every mission start, EVERYTHING involves watching an ad first. It’s horrible. I can’t even play the game. Second, I can’t even play the actual game because I have to wait a whole day before being able to do another level. That’s so crappy. Especially since I need to do levels to get gold and level up my characters to get more gold. Without high level characters I can’t play the adventure game modes. Third, the game tries to force you to pay $5 for the 4th character by keeping him at the lowest possible level so you can’t complete the adventure game modes and get the reward chests. Fourth, the game constantly freezes so I have to restart it all. Overall the game mechanics are fun but the amount of flaws in this game make it completely unplayable. But I know you guys aren’t going to listen to this because you can’t take criticism. However I would absolutely love if you proved me wrong. First step of doing so, don’t give this some stupid copy pasted response. Second step, fix your game. Thank you for your time

THE BOSSES ARE TOO HARD. Ok I’m a kid who had a lot of fun playing these kinds of games and when I found this one I knew I had to try it. It was fun at first but after the third boss everything was near impossible to defeat, even the underlings. When I got to the fourth stage It was mostly running and less fighting, and you only had like 3 seconds to hit the boss (if you were even able to get to him) and you never even got the satisfaction of seeing him defeated, some other guy that looked like him just attacked him and you ran away. Now the last boss... IT TOOK ME LITTERING MORE HALF MY LIFE TO FINISH THIS BOSS!!! THE ONLY WAY YOU WIN IS IF YOU HAVE LIKE 1 BILLION GUNS TO HIT HIM WITH WHEN HE IS DOWN. (I got to calm down) and when you attack him it only deals like 15 damage to someone who has like 500 health. I loved the game but the level of impossibility of the boss is really turning my day around. To the developers... PLEASE MAKE THE BOSSES EASIER. I would not even wish this upon my worst enemy and I would wish a lot of things upon them. To the developers again, please make the bosses easier.

Halfbrick has come a LONG way. I always had liked their Jetpack Joyride and hadn’t played it in years. I saw the graphics and immediately knew it was my same favorite company that created a game I spent so long on. I downloaded this and played for about an hour and all I have to say is a few things. 1) Halfbrick fell from grace. The amount of ads placed in the game every checkpoint is frustrating when I have to take a 30 second break in the middle of gameplay multiple times per level. 2) The whole pay to win aspect is really getting old now. I understand people like to make money off their products but when the quality of your game deteriorates based on your ad revenue and a system that forces you to watch advertisements is really annoying. Especially since every game you advertise has essentially the same marketing strategy of ad enforcement and pay to win aspects. 3) The game in itself is really fun. I enjoy playing the game but when you have to wait for a half hour in between levels that you can play through in a few minutes THAT really doesn’t sit well with me. All in all I think this company has gotten lost in what they used to be (that being quality retro style games) and now I won’t be supporting these developers any longer. Not worth my time to play or pay.

Great side scrolling beat’m up rpg. This game harkens back to the old days of double dragon. It’s a Side scrolling beat’m up that sprinkles in weapons and power ups as you play at just the right frequency to keep things fresh and fun throughout. It does not take it so seriously and at first feels like a kids game, but it grows challenging enough to engage A more mature audience as well. There are even some time trial and survival mode as well. There are plenty of micro transactions available but with a little patience, you can unlock most of them without paying so it doesn’t seem like a Cash grab at all. My grade school age children and myself all love this game, so it is good for any audience. Try it today excellent for a free to play in this genre.

Absolutely phenomenal. This has quickly become my literal favorite mobile game of all time thanks to arcade-style graphics, the incredible controls, and the great music and sound effects. However, nothing is perfect. Two issues: 1) The DIFFICULTY SPIKE. MY GOD. This game has a very consistent execution requirement minimum, right up until the last The Finger Of God. Why did HalfBrick design those levels to be so difficult? 2) Everyone in this game(including yourself) has a case of superhero syndrome, which means when something is getting shot or weakly hit, it’ll just... float there briefly. You can do cool things with this, including an infinite height glitch, but... why? Those are my ONLY complaints. If you haven’t played the game yet, just go... go and play it!

I love this game. This game brings joy out of me. But you know what doesn’t bring me joy? Jetpack Joyride, i understand its peoples childhood game but i never seem to find enjoyment out of this application. I know games are meant to be repetitive with different elements, but this was just too repetitive and its just not that good in my opinion. I know jetpack joyride is an old game and it has really simple mechanics but its just “too” simple. And this is why i think dan the man is better than jetpack joyride. P.S i am not hating on jetpack joyride just putting my opinion on it out there, so i will go back to playing dan the man because i have spent way to long writing this review, thank you😄

Great but,. I love this game but there is one major problem and a nitpick i have. Major problem, when you start a level of any kinda, could be endless, you can get a ad. This in itself isn’t a problem, but sometimes it doesn't pause your game. This happened several times during endless and I died because when the ad was over my character was dead. Thankfully i found exiting and going into the app without resetting it causes the game to pause even if there is a ad playing. A very small but obvious nitpick, Dan’s charge punch’s first picture is of a kick instead of a punch when he punches, and the upgraded version where he kicks is a picture of a punch. This is a very small but obvious swap error and I hope it gets fixed. Love the game and more people should play it.

Sorry this is long but here out my idea. These are just things I thought of you can use these ideas if you like or not. I will still like the game. I tried Barry out before and his move set is awesome but when I got the game and finished the prologue and went to the character select I was disappointed to see that it costs money and the other way to get takes way to long so my idea is too still have those two ways to get him but with yet another way to get him make him able to buy with coins but with a high price just like the ninja suit for the custom i have other ideas but this review is getting to long so I will continue this another day. Ps I was playing on my friends phone when I tried Barry

AWSOME GAME!!!! With some suggestions. I just got this game, and it’s already an immediate keeper. I also like jet pack joyride, but about this game, the graphics are awesome! The only issue I have Is the ads.. I understand there is a premium subscription, but I’m only 12 and don’t got a bank account and its just annoying how many there are in some places.. and also I feel like it takes to long to even get up to 250 coins. I feel like the clothing for the avatar maker in this game are to pricy. I also think that there needs to be something to do without WiFi, that doesn’t cost coins. So other than those suggestions this game is very enjoyable! Keep making games like this please! And one last thing, I’m trying to get Barry, but every time I invite a friend, it doesn’t work, I’ve sent 6 messages to friends and it won’t give it to me. Another thing is that when I break a statue and I get a gun/ weapon and I’m in a low ceiling place the gun gets stuck in the ceiling and I can’t get it.

Good game but it is lousy with problems. I love this game to death but there is only one problem: THIS GAME IS A NIGHTMARE TO PLAY! also why is it that when I reach a checkpoint there ALWAYS has to be an ad!? And adventure mode just loves to taunt the players with no money by forcing them to play as Barry and also I got no money for Barry and the premium so I’m basically just trying to have as much fun as I can while playing which is very easy to do and on top of that I can’t play the fight zone story mode or the frosty plains story mode like it’s some kind of dlc! Did I really just put all that into one sentence? Anyways this game still is really fun to play, the story is good, and it feels like super smash bros’ classic mode and that mode is well, classic. And like I said I love this game to death to the point where I’m revisiting all the previous levels for absolutely no reason whatsoever and online mode is my favorite part of the game. That was one sentence? Dang.

Just a great game.. I love the style of the games you make, halfbrick. And this game is an example of that! The humor and art style is amazing, I love the characters, and it’s pure fun. Just wish for something though, remember age of zombies?(r.i.p. btw) The two player mode was really fun! Maybe you can bring this to fright zone, or that you can fight friends locally and online? It’s just a suggestion though. Anyways, THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!! And now we’re finally in 2020. I’d like to see some changes to the costumes for the custom character. For example, I recently got the kings goon, and I thought it looked weird seeing an enemy without a knight stick(the weapons the enemies use), so maybe you can consider giving some custom characters weapons based on the costume. But the weapon wouldn’t deal extra damage, it would just look a LOT more stylish. And, once again, thank you for the great game.

My opinion. Before reading this just know I have sacrificed 3 dollars to get premium, so this is my opinion of the PREMIUM version of the game. But I’m just going to say this game is great. It is fun and the mechanics are easy to use. The use of multiple modes is cool and the story is great too. But no game is perfect and I have my problems with it. Number one is the fact you need to buy Barry. Now this wouldn’t be a problem but even with premium you still need to buy him for 5 bucks, and you need to buy him to upgrade him for when you use him in survival mode or he’ll be at level 1. Number 2 is how short the game is. I know that there is survival and (insert game mode name I forgot here) but the main game is shockingly small. I got this game a few days ago and I only have one world left to beat. So yeah that’s my opinion on dan the man. If you are reading this just know I’m not that smart and I probably forgot something, so yeah I’m dumb bye.

Nice game but a game-mode can be modified. Hello, I have been playing Dan the Man for quite some time and have enjoyed its lasting gameplay, style, and enjoy the fact it feels like a retro game in general. Once I beat the game I played the game-mode where if you beat every level you can get a free DLC. Soon after playing I have realized how they find a way to halt your progress in such a way, the way how is by making a difficult level and making Barry the character. Soon after seeing this I can see the only way to beat it is by relying on power ups or buying Barry so you can level him up to make the level much more easier. So I am just asking if you can please try to find a way to get rid of this blockade and make the mode easier to get through to try and unlock the DLC. -Max

Certainly resembles retro games. **BUY PREMIUM. IT IS LESS THAN $5 AND YOU SHOULD SUPPORT DEVELOPERS** I beat this game twice for what it’s worth. Fairly solid game, controls were nice and fluid and I never felt like I had misinputs outside of grabs, which is still better than other games Hitstun was fairly inconsistent which can lead to confusing moments such as being hit by projectiles, and the grab mechanic felt too stingy which made me randomly use grab attacks. Taking a lot of damage because of cheap enemy hordes with pits nearby created frustration. Difficulty spikes are everywhere. Especially on bosses. Upgrades use gold which adds RPG elements and grind. The grind is super steep if you’re into that. Custom character and Barry are nice touches with unique styles, even if one is a clone character. Bosses were meh. It’s similar to old games where you memorize attacks and then dodge, but sometimes there weren’t great clues which leads to trial and error, which while not bad, makes bosses feel lazy. The final boss in particular is super long for no reason outside of dodging more convoluted attacks before you counterattack. Unfun boss. 3/5 because difficulty spikes felt rampant and harsh. Grinding for upgrades is really slow. Everything else seemed fun. Dan is a funny character.

To meny adds. I don’t know what happened to my favorite pixilated Ninja friend, Dan. The game play is still amazing and fulfilling but I'm frustrated that there are so many adds. I am fine with the adds that don’t affect gameplay and are instead there to help players if they get in a tough situation like if you are down on health and need a chicken leg you watch a 30 second add to help with your problem. However it is mandatory to watch a 15 second add at varies save points through out different levels. You may be watching 2-3 different adds through out a single level. I love Dan the man and it’s plot and every battle it brings but I hope to see the game improve its add policy. I’m done ranting now, sorry. -A Dan the Man lover and long time fan

This game has to many advertisements now. This game is good and all, but they are more ads now than the last time I played this game (which was 2019). Here’s what I think should change: make items also allowed in shops and not for ads. They should be randomized in my opinion so it’s all based on luck. Let life potions be adless. This is definitely one of those games that can become hard as you go on in a more intense way, but making the life potion with advertisements seems greedy. It maybe should have the life potions be a freebie then when you die for the second time, you can use a ad, and then the third time, you die. Also the game after I level a level always shoved the VIP gift in my face. It’s not pleasant that the game always wants me to make to money and it seems like the game is more of a cash grab then letting the player enjoy themselves. This game has potential to be good and I hope you don’t take advantage of it in the future. This game is good overall.

How an ad took away my whole game process ^^. This is an awesome game i got far into the game and advanced a lot but then an ad suddenly showed up and it crashed the game i had to close the game and open it again but when i opened the game i had to chose between Dan or Josie. The game didn’t save my progress even though i had gone trough the level that shows a train even the little character that i created was gone even the money i worked hard to get. Two weeks on the game just to lose all my progress to an ad. And the funny part is that i was close to finishing the vr event. Otherwise good game one of my favorites

Too many timers which force you to wait or purchase to u lock all levels. I’ve been playing Dan The Man for about a month or two and it’s been a stress reliever..kinda because the one thing that triggered me was the timers that they would put on levels. When I was playing the story, I got to the castle and then it had a Timer which made me wait for a certain amount of time, so me being triggered I went to adventure mode and it was really enjoyable but guess what happened when I got to the baud adventure another timer but this time it said a whole 2 DAYS I had to wait just to play one level like cmon if you want ppl to enjoy your game at least put a lower price or make them wait for at least an hour or two because I wouldn’t want to wait 2 days to play one level. But overall it’s a decent game.

Half brick never seizes to amaze. Half brick studios is know for such classic titles as jet pack joy ride and fruit ninja the pioneers of the mobile market still going strong but things have changed since my day there’s more ads and micro transactions in movie games than ever so much in fact some games are unplayable but the ogrinal games are pure with fun for half an hour those pick up and play games are childhood and Dan the man will be part of a new generation of mobile gaming fan the man will be one of the best in the gen apart form jet pack 2 due to all of the other games being pay2wins now I know this game has ads and stupid microtransactions but it’s more than usual keep the ads down halfbrick I know you need the money but don’t shove ads in faces DURING GAMEPLAY I haven’t played this game in a few months since I now have a console but my main complaint is ads otherwise this game is pretty solid it can be cringey at times but mostly just fun I like the retro theme of halfbrick games and this is no step down from quality but it isn’t really a step up either I hope in the new multiplayer mode things work out but this game still has its flaws TL;DR cut down on ads old halfbrick is was better but this game is alright

Bruh. First of all, this is a great game with tons of things to do and interesting characters. The problems I have with this game just out weigh the benefits. The ads in this game are just over excessive, every death, every checkpoint, every time I want to play a level early, I have probably watched over 500 ads in just 2 weeks of playing this game and already beat hard mode. I feel like the devs are just trying to become millionaires from this ad revenue. And the game basically forces you to buy Barry steakfries to beat adventure mode even though I’m on the 4th adventure without spending a single penny. You can’t even complete all of the achievements in this game with out spending a few dollars because Barry. I feel like this game is trying to squeeze every single penny from the players to become rich. If your going to make this much money, then at least use some of it to donate to charity

Amazing Retro Game. There’s a great deal of fun to be had with Dan the Man. While the premise is simple - fight opponents and clear them out to advance - the formula doesn’t get stale because of the variety of opponents as well as how difficult they get as the game goes on. That, and there’s a surprising amount of depth in the storyline that even tackles mature themes, yet it never loses its retro feel. People might complain about the ads, but to be frank that’s what you should expect from a game that is free to download - the devs have to make money somehow if you’re not gonna pay. I mean, c’mon, you pay the price of a burger value meal to enjoy the majority of the game, and the DLC is reasonably price too. I’ve logged hours on the survival mode alone, and there are some console games I paid 60 bucks for that didn’t give nearly this amount of fun - nor for the same amount of time. Ultimately, I feel people whining about the ads are just too cheap. You pay for what you get, and if you don’t pay then you need to support the devs another way. Ignore the whiners, and give this game a try if you want to play a good platformer to kill time on.

Great but too many ads. I checked the app store for good apps with only a little bit of ads, But when I checked the games I found a lot of ad rains like Bowmasters, Elemental Master, Kick the Buddy: Forever, Sword Play, and so, much, more. But when I searched up “Fighting games” this game came up and I was excited to find an arcade-style game on the app store, so I played it, and it seemed like every other level I got ads. So that's why I rated this game 4 stars. Message to Creators of Dan The Man: Hey! I love your game. Can you at least remove ads when you're in a level and just have ads when you are not in a level and just have rewarded ads? (ads that are optional to watch and you get a reward out of it) You can still make as much money.

Could’ve been great. I love these platforming games but this one doesn’t live up to other platforms. The controls first off are great, I don’t get to buttons mixed up often. The gameplay is the worst in multiple ways. The game never has cool little things that make certain levels stand out between the rest. Celeste, for example, has different objects and mechanics that make the game cool and memorable. The fighting is always repetitive and nothing cool is done to make the bosses different from the normal enemies. The difficulty is always overwhelming and is either too easy or too hard. The story is okay nothing revolutionary. The last world has the best levels and still isn’t very clever. The game is filled with secrets that are way to difficult to find most of the time and I’ll be spending minutes just to find a secret I know exists. I know a lot of work has been put into this game, but all for the wrong reasons.

But why?. What happened to this game? I was bored a few days ago ago I re-downloaded this game to occupy me. First thing I noticed was multiplayer, and I was really happy because I’ve been waiting for that feature for quite some time. Second thing I noticed was the ads. There are SO MANY ADS. It’s terrible, every mission start, end, checkpoint, EVERYTHING INVOLVES AN AD BEING PLAYED. The third thing I noticed is while playing survival, you don’t instantly get revived by the revival potion like you used to, now it’s either watch an ad, or die. The forth thing I noticed was that while playing the story, when you unlock a new level, you have to wait 4 hours to play that level. I don’t understand, why would the devs do this? Just why? This game used to be my favorite game to play, if you can even call it that anymore. Now it’s just an ad fest. Yes, 2.99 to remove ads really isn’t a lot, but I don’t see the point in paying to play a free game.

Good game but a few suggestions. So just to start off, the gameplay is super good and creative, just about everything is 10/10 here. But there's something that I've noticed that may not be seen as a problem by other people. Every single character in dan the man is white. You can't even make your customizable character anything but white! It's a simple fix, add skin tone and hair texture options. And i don't mean add a skin tone option that you have to pay for, or hair textures that you have to pay for. But for the base character, have more options of hair texture and skin tone. All it does is make the game more accessible and not continue the cycle of little black kids feeling like they aren't normal enough to exist in a video game. For me growing up, seeing black characters in games and tv shows made my day, month, entire year even, just because it let me know that I was normal, and that this game was made for me in mind too. So please, add skin tones and hair texture options.

I lost half of my data.... Well first... let me start off by saying, that I used to love this game. Sure, it did have a lot of ads but it still didn’t bother me that much. I got “Dan the man” 4 years ago and worked hard to complete the adventure mode, story mode, and upgrade all the weapons and characters. It was pretty fun! Now I’ll get to the main part: One day I deleted “Dan the man” only for a couple of days. I wasn’t worried about deleting the game because I had done it many times before and when I installed it again, it would restore all my previous data. But this time... something else happened. I got the app back, opened it up, and went to the character selection. That’s when I found out that my characters and weapons weren’t fully upgraded which I thought was strange because before I deleted the game all characters were at level 16 and all weapons were maxed out. After finding out that my characters weren’t level 16, I went to check adventure mode. When I went in to adventure mode... I WAS STILL IN THE BEE ADVENTURE INSTEAD OF THE LINCON ADVENTURE!!! It was very frustrating because I had spent 4 YEARS trying to upgrade everything, beat the game, and get all golden trophies in adventure mode. Halfbrick, if you are reading this review, please help me in anyway possible to regain my data. Thank you for reading this review.

Two problems. The first problem that gets really annoying is that when you kill enemies that give multiple coins they spray those coins to either side, this doesn’t sound bad until half of the coins you get from an enemy fall into the water an become irretrievable. This becomes especially bad when prize tokens from the survival arena fall in the water... the enemy that gives them is a rare spawn. The other problem is gating each adventure challenge behind a 24 hour cool down... I understand gating them for 24 hours in sections. But either way there is no way to time skip, not even watching adds. The annoyance that people have with adds is petty, developers have to make money, and the adds either give you something or become skippable most of the time. I don’t have premium and have had a great time with the game.

Pretty dang good!. Hey there people who want a new game! So dan the man is really good, a 2D platformer. So what you do is your trying to overthrow this king. And basically, you play the level to upgrade your different characters. The thing is really quickly you have to wait for like 24 hrs (no joke) for the next story mode level to unlock. However you can watch ads or get premium for $4 but if you wait a bit u can get it for $1. Also before premium I hated that I had to turn off internet to not watch ads. But other than that it’s pretty good. Also devs I really wish you wouldn’t make the timers on story mode. It’s actually kinda pathetic to get an easy four bucks. Also devs it says you get “unlimited free continues” but you get a free revival and the next death is death so could you please fix that. The final boss on hard mode is WAYYY too hard though. I can survive until he gets half health, and then he does 2 attacks at once. Anyways this was a long review so it’s a good game 😀

Re: I got ripped off. Addendum: The developers recently contacted me to let me know this problem has been resolved and premium now removes all ads. I still maintain that they should not have even bothered with premium if it was not going to be enough for the game to be profitable, but I can’t complain too much if my premium purchase is now fully functional again. Still, the fact that this occurred at all has caused me to doc at least one star from my rating. I really enjoy this game, and I don’t regret my purchase anymore. What’s the point of paying for premium if I still get ads? I gave you money for the express purpose that you removed ads in between levels and game time and you didn’t even do that. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

worst platformer ever. this is stupid. way too hard. the third boss is way too overpowered i can’t even dodge him. he just teleports on you and does a ridiculous amount of damage. the second boss is doable, but frustratingly hard. also, I have to wait half a day to play one level. this is way too frustrating and time consuming. adventure mode is UNDOABLE because I need to pay $5 to even get barry to upgrade. you will always die on the adventure levels because you can’t buy barry to upgrade him. play if you want to not have fun and hate your life. this game also is just bad because it’s always too easy or too hard. some parts feel like it’s mario and you are playing as nabbit and some parts feel like you are fighting the radiance in hollow knight. sometimes the enemies TRAP me with infinite hitstun. sometimes the buttons do nothing. sometimes I hit the enemy 5 times in a row but does not get stunned. and no it was not a shield enemy. oh yeah. did I mention how repetitive this is? it’s so boring and every enemy seems the same with different health being the only difference. wanna know A GOOD PLATFORMER? Dadish. Dadish is a masterpiece with almost no ads, good difficulty spikes, unique bosses, and cool mechanics. AND DID I MENTION THE ADS? EVERY CHECKPOINT.

What happened to Survival Mode?. I am a long time player of DTM. I prefer playing survival mode over the other game modes. In survival mode, you played for tokens and you cashed in tokens for coins or power ups. The last time I played, there was no limit on the amount of tokens you could win. Now you can only win 3 tokens every 8 hours or so. Now there is no point to playing survival mode! The tokens you won basically replenished your power-ups or the coins you spent on weapons or health throughout survival mode. It would be better to give less prizes when you redeem the tokens than to limit the tokens received every 8 hours. Currently, the most you can win when redeeming a token is $250 in coins, 3 tokens or a power-up. Please reconsider going back to have survival mode was originally-- allow players to accrue tokens throughout the game without a token and time limit! I spent more in-game currency before the limit and I also purchased more tokens too. Now, I only want to play (not really because it's not fun) once a day, whereas before, I played for hours! Love it but all my data was deleted by accident some how 3 TIMES NOW. I’m a kid and just wow just wow Halfbrick your my fav the can you make more games pls and add a make button so you can make your own level and play it and also make it so you and other people can fight in a mode that’s in multiplayer that’s called match mode where you fight player and your friends but after long time no updates to my review in till NOW all my data as you can see up above yea my data something is wrong and I feel confused by this so please half Brick fix this bug and please don’t replace my data in till I say when if all data is somehow found halfbrick good job keep up this great work.

A New Classic. I first got this game when I was really young, maybe 5 or 6, and I didn’t get the story at all. Nevertheless, I had an absolute blast playing it, I felt like the coolest person every time I played it on my parent’s phone. I played it all the time until my parents got a new phone and I forgot the name. Still, I kept trying to find it when I got my own phone, and I still felt the same about it. Of course, now they’ve expanded the game and really had it take shape, and I don’t really mind the ads, since it’s a lot less compared to a lot of other free app games. Overall, I love this game, and it’s definitely a must play for anyone who likes retro arcade style platformers.

Awesome game, just the timers. Game’s fantastic. I’ve loved it since it came out and have always gone back to playing it to try and find every secret item and unlock every suit. It’s fun, challenging, and simple. I don’t even really mind the ads. What bugs me is the timers for the new adventure mode. I get that it helps encourage people to buy premium, but having a twenty for hour wait to get to the next level of the challenge kills the fun completely. Five hours would be totally understandable and ten would be a little cumbersome, but fair to premium investors, but twenty four hours is a bit overkill. The timers for the story line levels can go down with ads, and that works for me. If the developers fix the timers thing with adventure mode, it’ll be five stars for me.

It’s alright…. The first add i saw for this game was dan the man punching somebody at the bar getting arrested and failing to escape, and i THOUGHT that’s what the game would kind of be but no. You see i thought the game would be this one big multiplayer and single player game with a big city that you roam and get to talk to people and make choices, but then i download the game and it’s just a bunch of mini games and fighting some guys with police gear and weapons. It got incredibly boring after an hour of playing it, and then… the little pop up ad in the game telling you to play adventure mode came up and i said to myself oh heck yeah! This is what i saw in the adds! No… it was even worse than the main game. But hey i can’t hate on this game to much i love it’s style, and the character creation, and the leveling up thing, the fighting mechanics and the animations it’s definitely a hidden gem it’s just i don’t like the main stuff. No hate to the creators or developers for this games they did an awesome job and the game is pretty cool just maybe next time add some actual gameplay in your adds please. Thanks

TO THE DEVELOPERS. I’m giving this a 3/5 because I start the game off amazing, so much that I couldn’t help but purchase the premium. Now I’m on an apple device which means a notification is supposed to pop up on your phone saying “purchase was successful your all set!” But when I went to purchase the premium ads still showed up after everything ! , this is such a good game but please fix this ! Because I didn’t type this review until the SECOND purchase incident and this was twice in the same day and no money was refunded to my account and I basically bought NOTHING and got NOTHING back. The second purchase was the 0.99 cent for 1,000 in game coins and I got nothing back and I don’t wanna keep spending money on this game if this is how it runs for me please get back to me I wanna make your game better I hope this review helps you guys fix it.

Great game however the boss fight on 8-2-3 needs to be nerfed.. At first when I downloaded this game, I enjoyed the many different levels and the bosses you had to encounter until 8-2-3. The task was simple, hit the head of the boss to win. However, the developers had made this boss extremely overpowered and to hit his head multiple times, you had to do the following, avoid the cannon shot. (Which was long range) avoid the dogs that attack you (which can stun you) and, avoid the boss from ramming into you. At one point the cannon, dogs and the tank was all attacking me at once and I was somehow excepted to be able to defend against that all at once. I’m seriously considering deleting this game since this boss fight is near impossible. All I’m asking is that this boss gets nerfed. Until then, I probably won’t consider playing this game due to the difficulty. Thanks for reading this and have a great day!

The money I spent and progress I made. This is an amazing game and I’ve had it for a long time now but there’s a lot of things you got rid of. One is getting rid of saved progress. A lot of people deleted the game and lost all of their stuff and it happened to me too. I beat both adventure mode and was just grinding to get everything maxed out then I deleted the game cause I thought nothing would happen to my save then I lost everything. Even the premium I paid for got lost. I don’t know why you got rid of this mechanism to save your data but you did and now almost everyone lost everything. And also I can’t restore purchases which is stupid because now I can’t restore my premium that I paid for. If you wanted people to continue playing then you would’ve kept all of this but no. You just had to get rid of these essential mechanics for whatever reason. I loved this game but now it’s something I don’t want to play anymore. Sure a lot of fun things were added but it would’ve been a lot more fun if I had all of my progress. I get that this is your game but you got rid of so much and I can’t just ignore it. I spent a lot of time and I spent money on this and it all just goes down the drain. Fix this or I don’t think I’ll be playing this game anything soon and I think a lot of people agree with me

Really good game, just a few things. I totally recommend this game to people who have other games to play. Ones who have very little games and less patience.... no. The thing is, the game has a REALLY long timer for each level, making you wait. I wouldn’t mind like 1-3 hours, but it has like 11-12 hours for each level(but the levels are long, and you can replay them). Also, for each checkpoint, there is usually an ad. 9/10, you get to a checkpoint, there is an ad. It should only be half of the time, and not on levels you have already played. Another thing is that the adventure mode, for the levels you have to have Barry, you can’t level him up unless you pay for him or do the 5 friends thing. So it makes it impossible for the silver and gold trophies to be won in the adventure mode unless it’s really good or your skilled. On last thing, when I try to use the skip 60 min. thing for the timer, it never works. And it’s the game for sure, because I have a well taken care of iPad Air 2. Besides those things, it’s a great game. I love it, and will continue to play it. But I speak for most people, please do something about the timer, at least. Thanks for the great game. PLZ UPDATE

Would have rated 5 star but. I think the timer should be shortened because I see no reason as to why there is such longs ones for levels in the first place. Please cut us some slack with the ads on this game, I don’t mind them but it gets annoying when you are connected to internet and get ads for every little stop. Jet pack joyride is really good and this game has potential to be as good but needs some tweaking. I’ve also noticed that in this new update there is a glitch where your coins sometimes don’t save and are gonna when you exit multiplayer mode. It’s very frustrating because I could have had much more coins than I do have and upgraded stuff way faster. I do enjoy this game and the new update a lot but please take into consideration of the feedback, if you need the ads for money to maintain the multiplayer servers than I don’t mind that at all but the TIMERS in sorry and adventure need to be reduced, and that new glitch needs a looking at. Anyways continue on working on this awesome game!

Amazing but have some ideas. The quality of the game is amazing the game and its storyline is thought out this game is VERY entertaining but I would like that players could fight PLAYERS and even friend them I would love to see this happen because your fighting people instead of computers and maybe we can have team and you would be able to play with your friends or sibling again the game is amazing even the computers know what there doing when they fight it’s not just like there easy to defeat but I would be fun to play with real people because you would be able to talk to your siblings while you defeating them or loosing towards them love the game keep it up please consider my ideas thank you for your time

Great game but.... Dan the man is a great game. I’ve played other games that are alike such as apple knight. But it isn’t like those other games. in this game it gives the characters life. Like the two guys who run around trying to take on things as well. It’s fun getting to run around and beat things up. The knock back or the stun feature when you hit an enemy lets you hit them over and over makes you feel unstoppable. And the videos really explain the story and give the game and characters life, it also makes you care for Dan and the goal he’s after. What could be better is the money grab. Once you get to the main levels you get a timer after beating levels and this really makes me sad because it ruins that unstoppable feel to the game. I don’t mind the ad statues because it doesn’t make you watch an ad but please get rid of the timer. That is my criticism for the game, but again there’s something about running around and beating every living thing up that makes me laugh.

Really entertaining. I think the game is awesome, with the new things added especially when there was a way to get Barry for free. I also love the design of the Robots their pretty cool. It was cool to know that the game was a mini series I think it was a great idea to tell us that, so that way we know what was going on. One last thing to say the customs are great right now I have the shark costume and it’s good. But one thing that I feel this game needs to add is more enemies because this games enemies is just guards, animals, and robots so I hope that you guys add more enemies. Anyways overall I had fun with this game so if I rank this by grade and rank I’d say A and 9/10. Keep up with the good work I hope you add more than 3 types of enemies.

Dan IS the man!. One of the greatest mobile games I’ve ever played, period. I would suggest this game for anyone looking for a find a 2-D, fighting platform or experience. there is not an option to rate 4 and a half stars though, and there is a few things. overall though, amazing game.

Awesome game. At first I used to play it when I was small. But then it was soo hard at the first boss fight and I had to quit. The next two years I found the old game I used to play, so I played it. Took me 7 days or 5, 6, days to finish easy mode. The final boss was a bit too hard The final boss was really really hard because I had to wait for it to be stunned and then attack… didn’t worked because it takes a bit of damage. Somehow a I opened a final boss fight video and it was useful. So it took me 2 ads for the boss fight cuz I die all the time, I finally defeated the boss fight with RAGE 😤. 3 years ago version and today version was so different. The last time I played this game was 3 years ago, we using coins to upgrade the skills and you can even upgrade the special character but you can only using it in the mini game but now, we have to using gem to upgrade the character skills. Every round I play, I’m always low level because it was so hard to find the gem, after every round I play, I only get “1 gem”. This game was my childhood game but I can’t believe how they changed.

Game Keeps Crashing. Can’t play. This game crashes at literally every save point within a level, and when the level finishes, and the end screen finishes. Literally unplayable without having to reload the entire game, wait a few minutes, until finally you get 30 seconds of game time, until the next save point where it crashes yet again. Great Game, but terrible service, and terrible optimisation. FIX THE CRASHES. Tl;dr, game crashes way too often

Premium= 5stars. Once you’ve got premium, the game is basically all playeable. You have unlimited lives and no ads which gives you the arcade feeling of a game you go back to playing when you feel bored.

Totally awesome. This game addicted me as I got it when I was 6. The 1st boss fight in the main story I completed in about 30 seconds when I turned 8 (which is my age right now in 2017). The last boss in the main story confused me a lot. I am now a pro at this game so here is my stats. Ultimate punch basic high kick basic down kick direct sucker punch (I forgot the rest).

Loving the update!. Great work with the recent changes to the weekly events! It’s a little annoying having to log on every 24 hours in order to unlock each level, but the three difficulties makes up for it (no, I’m not talking about the story, I think that delay is completely fair too, too bad if some players are too impatient to wait). Together with the time delay, it makes it a more engaging challenge. And the hardest difficulty is so hard that I often have to equip a powerup! It gets me on the edge of my seat and I love it! A small complaint though, the game crashes whenever I try to use the in-game function in the wardrobe to take a pic of my Custom. It’s been a problem for a while but I don’t know if I mentioned it. Fantastic game. Solid gameplay with very neat attention to details such as secret area, secret items and idle animation. If only there weren’t so many timers for level unlocks. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact that even the paid character, Barry, is balanced, despite the game been almost entirely single player, Very nice touch

Best mobile platformer. With smooth and simple controls that give you control of how you play along with the charming art style and with updates even 4 years after release, this is definitely worth playing

Boss power. I love this game and all, but some of the bosses are insane, INSANE! How are you supposed to beat the robot at the end of the colosseum level, the answer is simple, YOU DON’T! HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO EVEN HIT IT WITHOUT DYING!??! My guy was level ten in a recommended level four area. HOW IS THAT SUPPOSED TO WORK?!!? Also I am loving this update. It makes it all better, but PLEASE consider an extreme nerf or just replace it with an easier one.

I literally love this game!. At first I saw my brother playing the game and I thought that it was the most boring game ever. But now that I actually play it I think that it is the greatest game ever! I love all the levels and all the adrenaline when you are fighting bosses. Even though this game is perfect in every single way, I will still suggest one thing. I used to play this game when I was 10 and now I am 12. I wish that you could make an account for yourself without an email so if you stop playing the game like I did and want to play again you could log in to that account and start from where you left off.

Extremely Fun Game But You’re Prevented from Enjoying it. Both story and adventure mode have 6, 12 and even 24 hour wait times. So let’s saying you finish a level on story and want to do the next one you will for absolutely no logical reason have to wait 6 hours. The actual gameplay itself is a 5 star but the design of the game is a 1.

Disappointed in the ads 5 stars without ads sorry but ,,, 3 stars with so many ads,,. I bought the game to avoid ads as this is what was advertised but this is not true... you have to watch ads on and off the whole time, if there’s no way to avoid them I will probably need to look elsewhere but it is a really good game but so so many ads!

Sorry. I’m sorry but it was great now with adventure we have to use specific characters instead of a choice and now we can get Barry free? I paid for him and now that he is free I wasted money on nothing? At least give us who bought Barry previously the expansion packs like winter and fright zone free, we paid for something and now you make it free, other than that it is great but I fear it may go downhill like other games, just take angry birds go for an example.

Five star rating. Love the game it’s a great strategical game with a bunch of different little people you can get. and with all those upgrades and victories along with those ferocious robots It makes a great game. I just love the game especially about the fact it’s a free game. You don’t normally find awesome games like these that are free. In all total I love the game and I think I’m gonna give it a five star rating.

Why.... This is a great game, the best ever but the reason why I gave it a 1 star is because of the ending press read more to see spoilers Why did you make Josie die in the ending and if you beat it in hard mode theres no secret cutscene, its like the whole webseries and stuff built up characters so they appeal to the player and then in the end that doesnt matter and everyone dies, so thats sad meaning you wont see Dan and Josie together or anything :(

Halfbrick changes the goalposts. I’ve played this game on and off for years. I paid for no ads, frosty planes and Barry. But halfbrick keep moving their paywall goalposts. Changing the game in ways that only incentivise pay to win. Restore the game to its previous gameplay status, particularly the special character/token limit in arcade mode. Find more innovative ways to incentivise payment add features don’t strip stuff back. stop making your games worse and worse to flog an annoying pay to win system like fruit ninja, which went from one of mobile’s best to whatever always connected junk you’re flogging now.

Ads ruin it. Despite the amazing gameplay, story and graphics having ads pop up mid story to save progress or at the every possible chance to chuck in an ad for 30sec’s can really make you want to close the app and move on elsewhere. Not too sure how I feel about having to wait a large period of time in order to play levels, never had these issues with other halfbrick games such as jetpack joyride. I am aware that there is a fee to ‘disable ads’ but surely there’s other ways of getting income.

Barry Steak fries. Can’t work out how to get Barry Steakfries, sharing app doesn’t seem to work. But still love the game anyway it just a little annoying cause can’t upgrade Barry so find it difficult to complete some Adventure mode levels.

What a twist. This is my first ever review and this is the best game ever I don't know where to start I love side scrollers and I can't believe it was a web series you can make your own personal character, well, not exactly I finished the game last year and I came back to it and I just can't believe the twist by the way, after the twist when you kill the ninja militia what happens next, you didn't save the villagers who are going to be killed and you didn't save josie I hope you make dan the man two and I just imagined if you made an actual series see you later......maybe😎

The adds.. Here’s my thoughts on “Free” games. They aren’t free to make, and games this good aren’t exactly too common. So if you like the little taste test you get, and are too tight to part with less than $10 for a good game, then “watch” the adds and consider yourself lucky it’s not one of them games that just straight up asks you to open your wallet before you can even test play. Good work Joho and Halfbrick. I hope many people like me will be happy to send you a few bucks to support your excellent games.

Great game but.... This is an extremely fun and addictive game with good fighting mechanics and balanced enemies. But their are some annoying things. 1. Some bosses for new people are hard to beat as they do not understand how to damage them 2. I really hate the electric zapper thingies 3. The bats are annoying

I’ve been playing his game for 5 years now and I never get bored I deleted and stopped for like a month then I downloaded it again last year and I never deleted it since then with hard mode after you complete normal and adventure and survival mode it’s to good adds are short unless you have premium which if you buy there are no adds

Epically old school (Please fix the TV app). Not only is this game in the style of the old school games, it's gameplay is above and beyond what I would have expected. Playing this on my iPad Pro with my Nimbus Steelseries Bluetooth controller is beyond awesome, I only wish hope they put this game on the Apple TV! I felt I had to reduce the rating by two stars, as much as I love this game the Apple TV version is still not working properly (won’t load profile) and it was last updated 28th January 2017, almost a year ago.

Best Game On My ipad. I love every thing 11/10 and the character customisations are like the best I can even be my favorite character from a different game I love. It also has such a good story and upgrades and power ups. I also love how wide a age range you can play. But the one thing that's really bugging me is one question and I hope you can do something about this, can there pleeeaase be more stages (and I can assure you that other people think the same) thank you.

Annoying song in background. For some reason, there is a very annoying song playing instead of the regular songs. Please get rid of it and revert back to the normal songs. Also, I think you should change the buttons back to their original form, because they gave the game more of that ‘arcade’ feeling you guys were going for when you made it.

Gotta good idea. I have been kinda thinking for a while when I’m playing hardmode. There needs to be a seperate story from easy mode because it makes me feel like I don’t really wanna do hardmode because it’s the same story. If you do add a separate story, I. Thinking since you kill the king maybe the king’s son takes over and makes the soldiers more buffed up and tries to finish what his dad couldn’t. Thanks.

Great old school platformer. Rare to find a free game with such depth and amazing gameplay. The in-app purchases are non intrusive and non essential. Premium upgrade is also not essential & players can decide if worthwhile or enjoy the app as-is (with ads & some time restraints) if they wish. Highly recommend!

Great but one question. I’ve noticed with the custom characters clothing, it adds special abilities such as extra health or damage resistance. If custom character has these abilities, doesn’t it make them better than dan and Josie? I mean do they have anything better than the custom character??? Thanks. Please answer my question.

Ads kill the game. This game is absolutely saturated with ads. At first I was like, hey no problem, a few ads to keep the game going and the developers happy. But within a few stages it turned into 4-5 ads per level, 5 ads to continue the game, ads to get items, random ads just popping up in the game out of nowhere. Overkill. There are so many video ads that I completely lose track of what I’m even playing, it’s that bad. The game is basically a promo channel with the small illusion you are actually playing a game.

I’ve lost all my progress :(. Please fix this I had completed all the levels also I had the robot skin please bring it back if you can I beg you :) please fix this might have been because of the new update

Second island and onwards. This game is super addictive and fun, with one problem. The second island and onwards requires hours and hours of wait time. You can skip forward an hour, but once your later in the game, you have to at least watch 15+ ads just for one stage. I suggest you remove the feature in the next update because people who can’t afford premium, will have to wait. Thanks for reading.

LOVE IT. I downloaded this game since it first came out and I love it. Everything is there from adventure mode to story and survival. It’s fast paced and action packed. I bought premium so it has no ads but if u have ads it’s kind of annoying. If u love arcade games filled with action this game is for u!!!

Just get it. This is what other iOS games wish they could be. There are micro-transactions but unlike other games, they are not required or shoved in your face every 5 minutes. Stop reading reviews for Dan the Man and play it already!

Dan The Man Review. This game is good. I like that the creators didn’t make it like any other game, by putting themselves humorously in the game. Their is a bit of ads, but it’s not too bad. I do have a slight problem with in game purchases though. You will have to pay real money for good customisations for your custom character, and you also have to pay for Barry from Jet Pack Joyride. It would be cool if you were able to earn them. Overall, I recommend you get this game, it is entertaining and original, but not too far off from other games to the point where you really need to learn the controls. A strong game for all ages.

Everything about this game is cool accept this...I have a half brick account and I tried to link it with my Facebook, but it kept denying it and kept saying stuff about not reaching criteria or something. TOO MUCH PAYING AND ADS. The game is great and awesome but whenever you go to a different level, you either wait for more than 10 hours or skip by using the power of ads. Paying is ruining the game also, when you want to get a character or a item it costs a lot of money that maybe not be worth it. Without paying, you wouldn’t even make it to the end. That’s when ads come in. Still, it has stories and fighting with many enemies and bosses. To make my rating to 5, please lower down paying and ads to make it more fun and playable.

Great game. The good: one of the best mobile games out there that isn’t pay to win garbage and is tons of fun. The bad: no ads is somewhat a scam - no ads between arenas in Adventure Mode or at save points in levels during the campaign, but still an ad after every campaign level. Why? I bought premium to avoid them, not see more. Also, to anyone buying premium: do not buy the starter pack, go into the shop and buy the Barry plus Premium combo pack. Much more value in my opinion, and makes adventure mode more fun considering you can actually upgrade Barry

Favorite game on App Store.. Yeah it’s good, way better then most payed games on here and it’s free! Gameplay is awesome especially if you use a controller, the graphics are good classic pixel design as a any good side scrolling beat em up game should have and level design is fun too. I don’t have much cons with this game at all (it has ads as expected, but they are few and sometimes optional so not a problem) and really the game is simply just great. Seriously I'm not a mobile gamer at all but this one is good my favorite on here by far. Check it out. And thanks guys for making a good game.

Poor implementation.. I realize my Airport Extreme is behind a cable modem firewall from my ISP — but this software has repeatedly said “no internet connection detected” — so I assume Halfbrick hasn’t integrated the Apple reachability project in their network layer. I was going to throw $20 CAD towards in-app purchases, but this situation has come up on my iPad and my AppleTV 3rd gen. Additionally, there is no resolution in the marketing materials WRT does an IAP on TvOS match the (different price and benefits) iOS IAPs? Because if the company is cool with broken delivery to their clients and is ambiguous about their IAP policies, that really dissuades me from giving Halfbrick Studios any money at all (no matter what the $# magnitude). I’m so done with giving $ to people who dot their Ts and cross their eyes as a business process. I have no confidence you deliver value in this situation.

It’s ok but….. And its very pay to win you have to wait after you beat a level for 30mins or watch a video but if you buy no ads for 3.99 you don’t have to you know it’s just annoying but or else if you like the game terraria you will like it it’s like terraria mixed in with some kind of like dungeon/runner game

I NEED MORE LEVELS!!!. When I first heard of this game, it was in an ad supported mobile game. So I didn’t install it. Next I saw a friend playing it. So I was kinda thinking “I’m not gonna like it, but I’ll give it a try”. When I went to download it, I saw my favorite Halfbrick character was an unlockable. Then it clicked. Barry Steakfries=Halfbrick. I knew I needed the game. I still don’t have Barry and his unlimited ammo shotgun, but you don’t need him to love this epic beat-‘em-up platforming mobile game. I am almost done with the sewer level pack, and I don’t see more than 10 levels afterwards. Please, let me play more levels.

Good game. Overall, this game is good, but the only thing that is wrong with it is that after complete if the level, the next level has a wait time. So for example, if you complete a level close to the beginning, then you can’t move on with the next level, you need to wait about 30 minuets. I don’t know why. At least they have an ad button that skips I think 30 minuets of time so that is good. But once you get to the last levels (I’m not spoiling it), the game doesn’t allow you to watch ads until the waiting time is done, it stops and you will have to wait at least 24 hours. You can make the wait stop by buying the predium for about 2 dollars and no ads

Great game, but the ads are ridiculous. I had so much fun with this game it’s pretty unique and awesome but the ads are just too much to handle. So just realized that I need to watch an ad to make a checkpoint which was weird, but then when I lose the level I have to watch an ad to start at the checkpoint which I already watched an ad for! I thought that was crazy. Oh ya and I also hate the fact that you have to wait about 6 hours to open the next level!!!! What? That makes no sense and I was forced to delete the game because honestly it was unplayable, I know that’s the only way they can get money in a free game but at least make it to where I can enjoy it not just sit there and watch someone play solitaire

Good game!!!. The game is guide fun. It’s a good retro fighting game, the adds pop up a little bit so it’s impossible not to enjoy! But there is one thing I’m less than concerned about. If you get a new character then you have to redo ALL the upgrades which is why also I only use one character But there is one thing I haven’t mentioned. The adds are sometimes annoying. For example, if I am fighting a boss and I die I can come back with a potion... but it means watching a add, I wouldn’t care. But it won’t allow you to leave (for most adds anyway) and you have to exit out, continue, and not get that revive potion. But two things are not stopping me from giving this 5 stars!

Great, but too much ads.. I have been playing a this game for 3 years and I had just redownloaded a few days ago. Then when I was playing I got so many ads and you now need to watch an ad to use the revival potion m(before it was free and no ad). When I was playing adventure an ad popped up. When I was playing and the game was still going through the ad and I died. They should fix this or put the ad before choosing a power up. I would give it 5 stars but the ads make it barley playable and like 60% of the game is ads. Please remove some ads.

Good Gameplay — Terrible Value. I’m not gonna lie — I feel kind of cheated having paid for Dan the Man. Don’t get me wrong, the gameplay is fun if not a bit repetitive at points. But the value just isn’t there. The free version of the game is so ad heavy that it’s incredibly annoying to play. I don’t mind supporting developers through in-game advertising, but DtM brought this to the extreme, with ads before, after, and in levels. I liked the game well enough so I paid for the premium version. Problem is, the game is so short to play through that I really don’t feel like I got my money’s worth. And the parts of the game outside the main story aren’t really fun enough to continue playing for long periods. Both options — free and paid — feel like no-wins.

A retro GEM 👾. In this game you can play up to 4 characters so far, the plot of the game takes place after the events of episode 7 of the web series of the same name , this is a platformer beat em up where you play as dan the man and its you quest to stop the threat each level leaves of for the next on, the controls are touch based they are good trust me , as now for the recent update of the game the is a new adventure mode 4 characters requires 3 characters the forth character you have to buy with real money there is two dlc you can buy that gets you brand new levels and boss fights , if you are a fan of things retro or your looking for a game this is for you 5 stars

Super Impressed!. This game really has a lot of fighting and it is awesome! The pixel art is really good and approve to how much physics there are! The game in all is perfect, but I really enjoy the challenges that make the controls easier. All in all, this game is a definite hit in the App Store. Thank you soo much for making this game! I know it’s been out for a while, but there should be a part 2 of this game! The game shouldn’t stop here and should instead keep growing with a multiplayer option included! I know this might not happen, but I still believe it will improve on the community and the amount of play it will get.

Dan the man. It’s one of my favorite games and I recommend people that don’t have it should get it because it’s fun adventure and loads more and there are really hard boss battles but I’m pretty sure a lot of people can beat them plus some of my friends have this game as well plus they really like the game and just maybe if more and more people start playing and enjoying it maybe just maybe half brick could make Dan The Man 2 I don’t know but I just hope you guys enjoy the game as muck as I do and most of all thank you so much half brick for making this game

Amazing!!. I have played this game for 3 years and have spent maybe 10$. I have almost every cosmetic and character, and the add free version was 100% worth the price. I understand that the ads are needed to make money, so I'm not upset about the small fee for no ads. The Barry character is my favorite, because I have been playing Jetpack joyride long before Dan the man. And his shotgun is just freakin' cool. I have been grinding for a year, and I finally got the ninja rebel, which should be as expensive as it is. It looks great! Well I hope the review convinced you to support halfbrick and download this game.

My Favorite iOS Game!. First, I want to begin by saying that this is, by far, my favorite game on the app store. It has tremendous replay value and great level and story progression. The premium version is 100% worth it. Ads are completely done away with, and that makes the game even more enjoyable and fluid. The mechanics and gameplay is simple but elegant, and it is challenging enough to make it satisfying and rewarding. This side-scrolling slug fest is fleshed out in a way that allows for hours and hours of play, especially for a completionist (I, myself, am counted among that lot). All in all, 5/5 stars. No complaints from me.

Amazing game but we need new levels. Dan the man is by far one of my favorite mobile games and many would agree with me on that but the only bad thing is that you need to add new free levels. I know there are stuff like the frosty plains and fright zone but most of the time you have to pay for them or you have to grind for days on end just to get like 6 new levels. What I’m trying to say is that you should make new levels or make another difficulty mode that is even harder than hard mode. Thanks for reading all of this. 😁

“Dan The Man” is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!. Any person who has shared their positive thoughts and opinions on this game totally know what their talking about! I’ve already beaten the “Story Mode”, but that still doesn’t stop me from replaying the levels and having a great time. Only issue is, sometimes when I play the game, there’s a point where the screen on my phone would just freeze and I can’t do anything about it except to just close the game and start again. It’s a real frustrating process, but despite that, I love Dan The Man and I totally recommend this game for gamers who like retro-style fighting games with a storyline, epic bosses, and some inappropriate humor that I’m sure a lot of people like me enjoy! 5 ⭐️!!!

Great game, but two reasons why only four stars.. I love this game, I’ve been playing this game for a good while now and still love it. It’s my “go to” mobile game. Between the humorous yet still maintaining a sense of seriousness to really make you enjoy the game for hours. The simple and customizable controls are very easy to learn. Even paying for the permanent premium pass is far worth it. The reasons why only four stars is: 1: The duration between adventure mode levels is far too long at a astonishing 24h. I find myself wanting to play the game, but only being limited to survival because I’m waiting for the adventure timer to complete. I would recommend a 8h timer between levels. But acquiring all previous trophies would remove 6h from the timer. Under that system, you would have incentive to complete all previous levels and still maintain the“not burn through content in one day” state that all games struggle with. 2: I would seriously consider not having the nearly nude statue of the king in in the levels. I believe its a reason that could get a younger generation not wanting to or being allowed to play.

Too expensive for a lot of the upgrades and to replay after you lose in the boss battles. I like the game it’s just that the coins you get are way too low in currency you would have to play for a very long time to to add up to 5000 coins for the upgrades or even 2000 and when you lose or die in the game it starts at 200 coins then 400 then it go’s straight to 1000 people need have a lot of them coins for all the upgrades. It would be ok to keep it but make it easier to get coins so people don’t have to restart the entire lvl over again. If y’all can make these changes it would be much appreciated if y’all do

A lot of fun. A lot of fun. It’s a little annoying that you have to level up your character to play every level, but I guess that’s a nice way to spread out your playing time, and there’s no shortage of free gems. One thing I noticed is that in survival mode, if you used a shield power up your partner immediately dies when you die. I’m not sure if this is intentional or not but if it is, it’s not fair for punishing you for using power ups. After level 11 in survival mode it’s so hard that any extra health would be appreciated. Other than that, I had a great time playing this game.

I don't like getting stunlocked. This game is heavily reliant on absolute dog crap to manufacture some form of challenge. After the main game, every adversary is horrendously over keyed to slap you around effortlessly. I'm so glad Dan becomes inoperable for a solid second every time he gets hit, it really makes it easy to die when there's more than one enemy at a time. I just played the first Christmas level in Challenges. It's actual dog crap. The enemies do 55 damage instantaneously, can't be grabbed reliably, and get projectiles whenever they want, they can literally just oppress your screen and kill you for giggles. It isn't fun, being barraged by ads isn't fun, especially when there's a PREMIUM UPGRADE, SO HALFBRICK SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO NOT NEED TO INTEGRATE A PAINFUL AMOUNT OF ADS. Play Soda Dungeon. It's made as a game primarily, not a cracked out unfair pain fest.

Terrible controls, punishing gameplay.. You can customize the placement of controls which is awesome, but they’re only sometimes responsive, even if you hit the button dead center with some force. Causes a lot of grief when trying to beat any boss, even the easy ones. Sometimes the enemies trap you in a corner with infinite hitstun and then you’re dead. Or you hit the enemy right in front of you which should stun them, but NO. The game decides you should die right then and there. Or you fall off a platform you were on and have no way of getting back up before you die from full health. Or the enemies literally run away from you and fly somewhere you can’t reach and you can’t finish the speed run no matter how hard you try. The controls decide to stop working and you fall to your death. Stupid game. Just stick with watching the webtoon series. It’s meaningful and not punishing in any way.

Very well done. First and only time since smartphones and app games that I’ve had to take a break because my hands were cramping up. This game is crazy addictive. This is every side scroller I grew up with. I did purchase the ad free bundle with a bunch of coins and a costume. The least I could do for the amount of awesome that went into this game. But there is much more to unlock, for a price of course. That can get a little expensive for all the extras. Guess I’ll be grinding away. Still working on perfecting some combat moves. A little tough with touchscreen buttons as opposed to old school joysticks and crosspads.

Pretty good side scroller beat em up. I like a few things about this game. It gives you the option to pay for an ad free version but is still f2p if you don’t mind ads. More games should absolutely be doing this. This is a fun take on the classic 8 bit snes side scrolling games that’s original and tbh I was almost about to just toss it and try other games but I was sold on the sfx that just made this game almost funny in a way. Original, fun, creative and best of all f2p if you want it. You don’t need to pay for a good game, but if the ads are annoying it’s only like $3 to get rid of them if you care that much.

Greatest game in my world phone. I love half rock studios and they have been with my my entire childhood and when I saw this game I immediately knew I needed to have it. After plying the first level I was excited. I know that halfbrick has not let me down again. Then I saw my favorite Character Barry steakfries!! I was like holy crap I need him. So out of my heart and memories ( especially of age of zombies which is the best game my tiny little brain played when I was young). I’m sorry but. I really used to love dan the man I really did but now it feels bland. And in a bad way. I’m mean sure the new story’s got me to play again. But besides that nothing to it. The adventure mode just feels like another challenge mode. I know working on a game is hard and I get that. But add something that really makes it interesting again. Plus you guys announced you were making a multiplayer mode. ITS BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF AND STILL NOTHING. Just more things for newcomers. Here’s a tip add something to the game that makes us and your team Really happy. Something that you can work on while keeping the team really intrigued( not sure if I spelled or said it right) in working on it and seeing it grow even more, also keeping us updated in seeing how it working. Do that and I will Change my rating.( i mean that’s why I wanted to write this review.)

I lost all my progress trying to transfer it.. So I’ve been playing DTM for a while now, and I had really good progress, equipment, and levels. But when I tried to transfer this data to my Game Center account, there were two options, Import of manually reset, I chose Import because I didn’t want it to be deleted. So I went through the transaction and realized ALL of my progress had been deleted. And realizing I’d never get it back really p**sed me off. I was really far into the game and was enjoying it, but losing all that progress changed my opinion in a great manner, I eventually got tired from trying to get my progress back that I just deleted the game. If there is a way to get my progress back PLEASE do so, and make an update where you CAN do that without throwing all your time down the drain.

Last Boss Hard!!!. The game is really fun all the bosses bring back fun from arcades that were closed down , but the last boss is really hard even for a pro it’s so hard it might even be unfair because the boss uses so many of its weapons with dan (you) can get destroyed in minutes I feel like dan needs a power-up of his own like something really powerful like get something from his past or make up a past like a friend he summons or something, probably not possible because the ending is already made but probably add another lever with new characters and weapons like swords that doesn’t throw but besides all of that BESt GAME EVER -probably make a multiplayer mode with people across the world or with your friends

Weird bugs in the game. Ok I love this game but there’s to many bugs that make the experience strange first of all there’s one bug that cuts the games music out entirely... the way this happens is when your in a portal fighting waves. IF you die and watch a ad to get revived after you watch that ad it just stops the games music and it’s just the sound affects playing after that. Kind of creepy if you ask me. But this is just a example of what the bugs in this game are like the rest of this game has a lot of effort put into it but it’s just the bugs... that’s why I’m giving this game a four star

Waiting for levels?!?!. This game is fun. Love it. It reminds me of my childhood due to its graphics. I felt like I was playing it on a Super Nintendo. However I’m angry you have to wait for levels. 5 hours to wait for just one level? Last one was only 30 mins. It’s stupid. And to make me pay money to skip it is ridiculous. Most people don’t want to pay money for a Mobil game just so they can skip things like that. Love the game but hate the fact that I have to wait 5 hours. I’m not spending money on it either. You could be set apart from other games like this by simply removing this one horrible aspect. Don’t make people wait for levels. It’s seriously annoying

The Best Ninja Game. Man, I just got this game late last night and I’m already enjoying it. It’s a mixture of a kid-friendly, old school, action packed video game enjoyable for all ages young and old. I love the bosses and the fighting styles and how they don’t throw you into a difficult situation if you don’t want to be. This mobile game is acceptable when it comes to being a ninja game. I am addicted to this game and I think the creators did an excellent job on this game and I hope to see many more video games from them in the future. Thanks for making this game guys!

Pretty good. I got this game some time ago, and I think it’s really fun. The retro style of a side scrolling fighting game is super fun, and I love the upgrades, controls, and all the different modes. The game does have its faults though, and most of them are simply annoying. Firstly, every level, multiplayer*, mode, and even in between every 3 arenas or so you have to watch an ad. Although you can just turn off Wi-Fi, that means no events, and no multiplayer. The worst part is the timers every 6 HOURS you unlock a new level around… the tenth level? (Idk I haven’t been keeping track.) it’s super annoying and tedious, but luckily you can watch 6 video ads to skip the timer. In conclusion, the game has great retro graphics, controls, upgrades, and weapons, but there are constant ads and annoying timers. * I forgot to mention but multiplayer co-op is really fun. Same for adventure and survival.

Dan the man is the greatest game to ever exist.. Thank you, halfbrick studios for creating this joy of a game which has truly graced this Earth. Before I found this wonderful creation, I had no purpose whatsoever, I was just a wandering soul. When I found this lovely mobile game, I was not just addicted, but my friends and family were too, It has become THE household name. I sleep for Dan the man, I work for Dan the man. I truly feel every moment of Dan the man’s heartbreaking situation and story as he watches his friends die, just so do it again and again, yet learning everytime. Thank you, for creating this, this is the great game ever made.

Great game ruined by ads. Ads ads ads ads ads ads ads ads ads ads. This game used to be great but has become unplayable because of the amount of ads. It’s ridiculous. I understand the need for ads, but don’t understand why game developers think overwhelming players with ads is a good business model. It feels like extortion. If the developers think people will pay for the ad free version to get rid of the nuisance, they’re wrong. I am sure most players are like me and will play the game less frequently or simply uninstall it. There are so many nickel and dime purchases in this game anyway that you’d think the ad flooding wouldn’t be necessary, but this game gives you about 30 seconds of gameplay between ads. The ad to gameplay ratio is practically 1:1. It’s completely destroyed a game that I used to really enjoy. What a shame. Let people actually play your game for a few minutes between ads and you’ll have more people playing it for a longer time. These developers that overwhelm players with ads don’t care about their games or players. They have to know this drives most people away, so they simply try to cram in as much ad revenue as possible before the inevitable uninstall happens. Bye, Dan. It was fun while it lasted.

It's enjoyable, but there's a few problems.. Okay- first…saving progress. PLEASE SAVE OUR PROGRESS- I had this game like 2 years ago. I didn’t get to a really high level, but I would like to start from where I was before. Second, for making a custom character- ADD DIFFERENT SKIN COLORS. I was quite excited to see that I unlocked a custom character- I wanted it to look at least a little like me, but I didn’t. Because it was light- there’s nothing wrong with white people, or people who have light skin, but I’m black. THIRD, ADS. WAYY TOO MANY ADS- I think that the ads should only appear when you wanna get free coins or free upgrades. NOT AFTER EVERY LEVEL OR MISSION- WHATEVER. That’s it for now 😀

I love Dan the man. I think this game is awesome the detail the story line everything is so awesome and there is two thing you could do to make it better 1 multiplayer I know you just updated that but like you could be on the same level and help your friends beat a level I just think that is a thing that would be cool 2 and also you should make less adds and that’s it you should get this game and play it it’s very very very addictive and fun and I could tell you one thing the evil and the good guys the black and white so cool and I like how the white one came in the end and stopped the other one

I finished normal and hard mode. When it was my first time playing this game I finished normal mode in story mode and then I unlocked hard mode and I finished it and the final boss was just a piece of cake and survival mode I finished easy but not normal mode but I did not unlocked hard mode because I didn’t finish normal mode and an adventure mode it had so much places I didn’t win so much golden trophy’s and finally multiplayer mode I was playing it but someone else was there and we worked together to defeat those bad guys and there were 3 areas and both of us finished it so that was it guys have a great day/night

Double Dragon on crack.. This game is honestly one of the best mobile phone games I’ve ever played. It keeps me on my toes with its generous yet challenging difficulty. The gameplay is just so much fun for its replay-ability even when I die so many times for the dumbest reasons. And the coin collecting, too! It takes time, but there’s ALWAYS something to get. If I had the ability, I would make some sort of Endless Mode where you’d fight till you dropped. That would make this game even better. And you thought Jetpack Joyride was addictive.

Favorite Mobile Game. I purchased premium just to support the company, $6 was a little more than I'm used to spending but the game is amazing! I beat the entire game on Hard mode, maxed out all the characters & weapons, now I'm just working on the costumes. The replay-ability of this game is great. I just wish I could change my custom character's skin color & that the weekly challenges were actually challenging. Also adding a boss rush mode would be really cool. Edit: cool, they added everything i suggested but the ability to change your skin color which is fine i guess.

THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER. This is the best game ever, there is hardly any adds, I beat the whole adventure mode using level one Barry. Also, you don’t need internet to play, how convenient is that?! Including, it’s amazing how I can continue playing the game and it dosent make me take a break. This game has the best mechanics, plus when I deleted 5 times I got my progress back so I don’t know what those other reviews are talking about! One of the things I love the most about this game is that you don’t have to pay to win. To conclude I think my point has been proven and this is the best game ever, can’t wait for Dan The Man 2! Great game but adventure mode is not so great.... Dan the man is probably one of the most entertaining games i’ve ever played so this isn’t about the story mode but this is about the adventure mode. First of all I really like the way you put the frosty mode in if you complete adventure mode but I think you should let people choose there character because the fact that you guys assign a character for the level maybe some people only have lvl 16 on there custom and lvl 6 on Dan and Josie and maybe they didn’t even buy Barry so they can’t level him up. Also you guys should lower the price for the power ups because if your on hard mode it cost 1500 coins to buy the things. And the time limits are super low so when you are fighting basically unlimited waves. Please make changes soon. By

MORE CHARACTER DESIGN OPTIONS!!!. Halfbrick I must say you all did a very great job with this game and I enjoy playing it but the one thing that bugs me the most is the HUGE limitations I have in designing my character. I am not implying any disrespect to the Caucasian community but some of your players have different ethnic backgrounds and would like to play as them in this game. Of course I love the suits and hair and all the things that make the character design option great but would it be to much for I (an African American) to play as a character who is also African American OR AT LEAST HAVE THE OPTION TO. Being forced to play as a caucasian player is simply frustrating.

Good game but. It can do with a few more things to make the game better 1 less adds i no premium exists but I prefer watching ads than paying for stuff but less ads would be good 2 level creator the game is loaded with content but a lover creator would be amazing if it’s already in the game I don’t know why it typed this I just got into the game 3 more special events I quit the game after some time five years ago I guess and there’s been far more content since I’ve played but at least a bit more events would be cool that’s the end of the review thanks for Reading

Great Game, Too Many Ads. This game is awesome! It’s not the most complex thing in the world, but it will definitely give you hours of fun... that is if you either buy the premium version or power through the ads. This game is infested with ads. You finished a level? watch an ad. You got a checkpoint? Why don’t we celebrate by watching an ad? You’re about to play one of the challenges? Awesome, but watch an ad first. I understand that you have to support the creators if you want something great, but this is too much. I wouldn’t mind ads here and there, but this is almost unplayable with just the standard version. I’m sure a lot more people would buy the premium one if it didn’t just bore you to death with ads while you’re first experiencing the game.

Great game, better support. The game itself is super fun and addictive and very replayable. Really a solid good game. I spent maybe two months trying to report an issue I was having with the game (rewards were not crediting to my account). It was very frustrating. However, once I was finally able to contact someone on their support team, they spent most of an entire day getting my issue settled. Which was super wonderful and the attention and correspondence more than assured me that my initial experience of zero communication was probably out-of-the-ordinary. Rarely has a company gone so far out of their way to make a (fairly minor) problem right. Great job!!

I paid for an ad-free game...restore purchases is N/A until after "DEMO". I just played this game for the first time after several months and promptly deleted it after seeing an advertisement. Putting ads in your game should not be allowed after the fact especially since i would not have purchased a game only to have to endure 30 second video ads between levels. *UPDATE* - The "restore purchases" feature is not easy to access when you first start up the game. It seems to start in a forced demo mode that makes it difficult to get to the option to turn off the advertisements. I wouldn't have been so put off by this quirk if the ads weren't so annoying.

Dan the man is great but... Okay I love the game, the combat and the story. I even love the fact that you can make your own character. But I find it ridiculous that in one level I came across like 5 ads. Like I get you need to make a profit but it frustrates players when all they want to do is continue the game but have to wait in the middle of the game till the ad ruins out or you can click out of it. Also I hate that you have level timers. Like why? You have to either buy the premium or watch over 10 ads just so you can play the next level. Which could run from 15 to 30 seconds each as far as I noticed. I would give it more stars if it wasn't for that. Thank you for listening to my feedback.

I want more. Hello Developer's. I love Dan the man I do but for multiplayer I want more out of it. Sure the multiplayer we have right now is fun but wouldn’t be great to play multiplayer on story mode. Oh and it would also be great if you added a friends list. Oh and there is one problem for me. When I invited my friend to play Dan the man I didn’t get my reward for it. But it wasn’t a big deal though I’m just telling you because I think other people will have the same problem and give a bad review. Anyways please add multiplayer story mode. Goodbye. I like this game but. The adventure skeleton level one of them on hard mode I didn’t do you like because I don’t like it because sometimes they can shoot fast or when they’re shooting twice or when both of them were shooting, it’s getting pretty annoying. Because how am I supposed to dodge it because one time when the fight started, and both of them were shooting twice I can’t dodge it and I died so I think you should fix this cause it’s pretty annoying me and been dying a lot and make me feel like a noob so please make it where they cannot shoot twice and cannot shoot so I can dodge it.

What’s up with your game?. I got this game after my brother started playing it. There is a huuuge difference between our games though. I need to use gems to upgrade or do anything else. But my brother on the other hand uses gold to do his upgrades. He has a much easier time collecting gold than what I do collecting gems. After all he collects gold throughout his levels. I can’t collect any gems throughout the levels. I’m always at a point where I can’t continue the story because my character is under leveled. The only way to get gems without purchasing them is to play the non story missions which I don’t care for. (I have iPhone 8+ he has the iPhone 11 pro max) would our different phones be the reason? If so why is it designed this way?
