!!!!Great Game for most part!!!!. The story is good and the game is pretty scary especially if played at night. The only bad parts about this game is there are only 3 different monsters and it only last about 5-8 hours depending on how you play. It need more chapters added or a second game!

Not scary. Disappointed.. Full disclosure: I played the game for about 10 minutes. The voice acting is painful. The movement was frustrating though I appreciate the effort at innovating touch controls. And worst of all I found the encounter with the monster to be yawn inducing. It's not the worst game on the iOS store, but there's too many other, much better games to waste my time with this one.

Well-made, moderately scary. This game looks fantastic, the story is on point, and the controls are fairly easy. This being said, the amount of content in the game should probably be higher, considering the price. As satisfied as I was with the storyline, the whole game only took me about 5 or 6 hours to complete. Also, there are only 3 different monster variations, and none of them are extremely hard to get past. I suggest lowering the price for anyone who buys this in the future. Then, put an "add-on pack" that is free to whoever purchased the expensive version of the game, and make it an in-app purchase for whoever bought the better priced version. All in all, I think this game a a bit overpriced, but I still think it is a good game for whoever is willing to spend $8 on an iOS game.

Just get it!!!!!. This game has an amazing story and when you keep on playing it every step you take it will scare the crap out of you. This story is scary and fun it's worth it to buy it.

I find controls to be easy to learn. I found the controls pretty easy to pick up on. A few things took me awhile to pick up on, like peeking around corners. I had previously attempted to play Forgotten Memories and the sloppy controls were impossible. So I am loving Lost Within by comparison!

Too Hard. This game is fine until you get to the 3rd chapter. Then it becomes incredibly hard. I understand survival horror involves running from monsters, but here the monsters are too difficult to escape. There are several levels I had to play over 10 times to pass, and I finally quit when I couldn't finish one after 20 tries. DON'T MAKE THE GAME SO HARD! It shouldn't be a contest between the developers and the players. You can always win, we get it. Now the challenge is to make it hard but playable.

Good game but seriously should have Apple TV with game controller support!. I just don't understand these games that are difficult on small screens that don't take advantage of making the app available on the Apple TV 4 with added game controller support. It just makes no good sense to me to pass this option up as a developer!

Great game! Bad ending. I love lost within! It practically gives you everything you want in the horror genre. But I was not satisfied that the game ended so quickly and that there is only 3 episodes. At least make a level system or generated episodes so is lovers of the game could continue playing! The ending doesnt say crap about what happens with betrand. Please fix this or make it a bit longer then it will be 5 star worthy!!!

Amazing Game. First of all, this is an INCREDIBLE game. I HIGHLY recommend it. My only complaint is that it gets a bit repetitive at times. For example, smaller enemies would just keep showing up and interrupting the story. I liked the smaller enemies, but I didn’t like having to constantly avoid them while I was trying to enjoy the story. Other than that, no complaints. Good graphics, great story, great actors, and genuinely creepy as opposed to a lot of modern horror which is just jump scares and gore. This game does have those, but it also has a disturbing story and a really creepy atmosphere.

Best horror game on iOS!. Story, visuals, voice acting, it's all really good! And some of the "inhabitants" are quite terrifying. My only complaint is the controls. There should be two halves of the screen: one for movement and one for camera. Right now it's all for movement and camera, making me walk right into enemies sometimes. And the virtual stick option should be free instead of fixed. It takes some pinpoint accuracy to maneuver around without inhabitants noticing you. Other than the controls, the game is fantastic!

Scary, Entertaining, Intense. I became obsessed with this game and played it all the way to the end, I beat it after about a week. I really liked it, some levels are difficult and will get you frustrated but it's a really good game, also has a really good story

and it had to be first person shooter. Survival games are best on 3rd person, why making it 1st person? Besides, some people get dizzy with 1stPS, why limiting it? If i had checked the video i would not have bought it. As for the game and graphics, eell it seems pretty good, if only i could play it more than 5 mi utes at a time

So scary. I can't sleep after playing it unless the lights are on!!!! It's great but it is a lil too expensive which makes it not as good. The only reason I got it is because I heard it was coming out months before it did and it sounded really good. Which it was but was almost not willing to pay $6.99 for it.

Please Read!!. This game is amazingly creep and horrifying. Although the characters are not close to as scary as the ones from other games, they are still extremely creep and this is probably the scariest game on iOS. This game combines so many different things from other games I play such as the evil within so this makes it so much more exciting you can play this game for a long time and it is a masterpiece for the iOS. I haven't finished it yet but I hope to soon and I would wish more games like this would come out for mobile

Awesome!. Great story, immersive gameplay, the only thing I don't like is the awkward controls, such as when those enemies that only move when not seen, it's hard to look at them as you walk by. Beat the game without this, but it would be helpful

Already love it. I only played a little bit so far, and I can already tell it is going to be a good game. This is also my first shot at survival horror and this game is a great place to start.

Thrilling!. It's pretty much Outlast on your phone, the story's similar and the gameplay and setup is very similar as well. The graphics are incredible on this and controls are very smooth. 5 out of 5.

Fantastic game!. This is a great survival game! The presentation is phenomenal and the game is very polished. I definitely recommend it to anyone that's a fan of survival horror games. Sadly it doesn't support Mfi controllers, but nevertheless, the touch screen controls are nicely implemented, and it runs without a hitch - no crashes or bugs so. Additionally, it seems to be fairly lengthy. Definitely worth the asking price!

PC gamers, watch out! The App Store is catching up!. This game is fantastic. I very much enjoyed alien isolation, but I didn't know I had a portable- easy to use way to play the same way. Great graphics, but bad controls (3 out of 5). The crafting is great, I love when games offer that (particularly survival horror games). Worth every penny. If outlast and alien isolation combined, this is it. a must have app for of and mobile gamers.

Scary but awesome. First I though that this game was going to be like a really dumb game trying to be scary but this game really reminds me of Outlast and the graphics are amazing. If you played Outlast and you liked it you should really get this game.

Amazing, then good, now ok;. This game looked like outlast on the trailer but when I played it I was slightly disappointed game developers good job on making it scary, but what is a horror game if you can't crouch lol. Yes... There is no crouch button. And after a while I learned that the AI go back and forth and then repeat the cycle over and over again etc etc. BUT I love how when they move the enemies sound like they are constantly stepping on a Doritos bag with chips in it. I love it. The one thing that made the AI hard to go against was when there were 8 enemies in a single room. The controls are pretty fricking awkward and they probley almost got me killed. Opening a door or locker on its own is just so hard to do and in a horror game you need to open doors at lighting speed. Any way the game was fun I beat in like 2-3 hours without dying. This was my first very interesting horror iOS experience this and Fnaf Good Job

Over priced. Visually stunning, with head phones it completely draws you into a horrifying story... Unfortunately it's only a walk through game. Many doors with only one way out. That's true, but only one way to get there, the only way you can go. Controls need tweaking, not great...

Painfully Average. Lost Within is about as generic as its title. Overrated graphics and gameplay with cardboard characters, and a boring storyline that barely kept my interest. The enemies aren't even scary, just like its atmosphere. The only thing scary about Lost Within is its price tag. Coming from an avid 26-year old gamer that's a huge fan of survival horror video games and horror movies, I think this might appeal to 12 and 13 year olds with rich parents. It was really hard for me to tap 2 stars and not give this game a 1 star rating. I gave it 2 stars just for creative effort, and because it's not truly worthy of getting one single star like a lot of the free independent garbage that lurks around on the App Store.

Meh, the early levels were OK, then.... Meh, the early levels were OK. The graphics are decent, but not exceptional. The dialog in the the cut scenes in simplistic and the story line is predictable. The sound is atmospheric (better with headphones) but repetitive and the controls are a bit awkward. However, the game play is lacking. Too much time spent tapping on highlighted items just to follow a recipe to craft an item. All the levels feel the same, run around and blast past monsters then hide in a locker. Watch a cut scene. It’s moderately scary, but it’s not worth the price.

LOVE IT!! MAD SCARY. This game is totally worth the money. I just recently bought it and I get jump scares. I love it!! If I get jump scares it is good it's like outlast except it has a different story and monsters in it. Totally recommend the game!

Great game mechanics. This is a brilliant design for a horror game on this type of platform, The game mechanics feel spot on and let you feel in control compared to most games played in first person on smart phones and I definitely recommend this game

It's good.. I like it but I'm not a fan of the controls. It's one of those click and move games not drag the dot inside a circle. Being chased in this game is freaky because it's hard to move quick but if there is an update for this to move more freely I will play again other wise it will wait.

Gets boring quick. Like others, I found this initially scary but it gets really repetitive really quick. All 3 characters (chapters) are basically the same game. Hide in a locker, search drawers to build stuff, find and read notes. That's basically it. I went out of the way looking for puzzle pieces and after the game was done... what for? You also can't retry levels which is a huge disappointment. Towards the end, the scenes made me nauseous they were so shaky. The ending is abrupt and gives us no idea to what happens to the madman. There is so much buildup of the story by reading all of that asylum inter-office mail - that you just spent hours searching for - and the end is incredibly weak. If they have a second game to continue the story, I'll pass.

Grand Old Time!. I have to say, this was a really good game! I loved the first-person perspective, and the slight movements of objects and random sounds; those things all added to the creep factor. I think the splitting of the game into episodes, and three different characters was brilliant and allowed for the different view of the situation from each character, and opened the gateway for three separate stories that were all connected. The visions into the past had the perfect of amount of shock and horror. I have to say, the ending actually caught me off guard and gave me one of those “oh my god” moments. Surprising me is a very hard thing to do, and happens rarely. Now, I will admit that the controls were kind of wonky, especially with opening doors, and if you tilted your phone, the character would move. But, overall, I think this game was excellent; great story, decent graphics for an IOS game, pretty good for the horror genre, and really fun to play. I can’t wait to see what else the developer will create!

Wow. I’m only on chapter four but I dab already tell this is going to be an awesome experience. The game genuinely gave me chills and i almost screamed a couple times. I can’t wait to play more!

Amazing. Oh my gosh. This game was amazing! There were parts I was really scared from certain monsters, and that added to the experience. I don't really do horror games but this one was well worth the money!! It was addicting, and just a great experience :)

Great, Totaly worth the money. I was expecting more jumpscares but as I kept on going it was creepy and well thought out. I also liked how it all came together at the end like all the mysteries and secrets.

Whattt. I literally just payed a couple dollars for this game, the game opened and told me to make sure asylum was empty and now it is frozen on a ‘game center’ screen. No exit buttons work. Restarting the game does not work.

Truly Horrifying!. I'm a fan of many horror games on PC. If you are like me, you will love this game! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am still not done with the game, however I heard it was short. Something interesting to add to this game would be more ways to explore while not getting sidetracked from your original mission. Almost like side quests. I just think the game needs a bit more for the money. The graphics are great for a mobile device. I also liked how at some parts of the game required strategy. I was also surprised by the storyline in this game. Loved it! Can't wait to see what other games this creator makes! Keep up the good work.

Good, but not my fav. This game is alright for a pastime, but in general it just doesn't quite hit the spot. It has a good story and the pacing is pretty good; however, the endless repetition of the environment gets old quick. The further you progress in the game, the more noticeable the "recycling" of visuals becomes. To me, a good game should visually reflect where you are and a general progression as you play, but 95% of this game are the same hallways or rooms with the same lockers, desks, and cabinets. It also didn't quite pull off setting an atmosphere. I felt like I was playing an updated version of Wolfenstein 3D. While I don't regret purchasing this game, I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase it again.

iOS is getting on their game. I finished this game in 2 days. It had about 5 and a half hour long campaign and it was great. I enjoyed the creepy plot to the twist at the end. I hope a sequel comes out where we find out more... The man in the water... He is alive!

Outlast ios. This is Outlast for ios except, as another reviewer pointed out, the enemies aren't quite as freaky. That evil doctor in Outlast that cuts your fingers off and then chases you around looking under beds... Now that is freaky! Otherwise this game is pretty cool. I agree with one review that stated some tweaking of controls might be useful.

Lost within. I really liked it it's a really good game but I saw some reviews about how they don't like the controls well I found out that you can fix that in the settings it makes the controls way easier the play the game.

Fun, Worth $$, but short. I enjoyed the game, but completed it in 5-6 hours. The story doesn't leave much room for repeat play and was predictable. It wasn't as scary as I'd hoped. The creepiest characters have to be looked at and will pop up on you, but don't come into play until the end and very little. Secrets were easy, not much strategy required. Looks good and controls were easy enough to handle.

Repetitive level design, clunky controls, laughable story. I am a huge fan of survival horror games. Some of my recent favorites were Outlast and Amnesia. The idea of having a similar experience on an iPad or iPhone was too good to pass up. Graphically speaking it looks pretty good and sounds great too. Gameplay is not perfect but decent. You can craft various items that can be used to lure enemies away, temporarily stun enemies, lay traps, or heal yourself. Unfortunately that's pretty much it in regard to the good. The controls can be frustrating sometimes. It's very easy to get stuck next to doors or accidentally click the wrong direction. Very frustrating when you're trying to escape from a baddy that really wants to kill you. The story is garbage and laughable and unfortunately the game is kind of repetitive. It is broken down into three chapters and all three chapters basically follow the exact same formula. In addition the level design is very repetitive. You will find yourself traveling down similar-looking hallways and rooms endlessly. Since the game isn't very expensive and some would say it gets a pass for being on a mobile platform, I don't think that's a good excuse. In fact I would have gladly paid $20 for a better game. If you're desperate to play a half baked survival horror game on mobile platform then it might be worth it otherwise I would stick to the much better games on console or pc that do it so much better.

It felt like a drag at all times.. When I bought this app, I was hoping to buy a mobile game which demonstrated amazing graphics, a well designed movement system, an intriguing story line, and in general, a challenging gameplay. All these expectations were considered from the plethora of positive reviews made by people on the internet and from the reviews made in the AppStore. This game did not meet my expectations. The graphics were a little above average, the gameplay is repetitive and boring since AI is not that intelligent, and in fact too easy to dodge. The movement system is a smart attempt for a mobile game, but it feels clunky when moving, especially when there are lots of enemies in a certain level. Characters and the story line is a bit above average, but the ending of the game is too confusing to comprehend, as it just feels incomplete (I will not tell the ending because I would not want to spoil the ending for any player. I also played the campaign 2 times to confirm the ending). Horror. This was the key reason I bought this game. This game lacks jump scare horror and creepy horror. It is just not that scary. That makes the whole game, especially from reviews and how the game is described, seem like a ruse. Every individual is untitled to their opinion, however. Most people like this game, but I personally do not. I believe this is a 2/5.

Creepy & Spooky. I admit. I love it when a game scare's the hell out of me till I have to play it with the lights ON at daytime or else I'd be forced to put it away and shut it off! LOL...... But the storyline is so addictive, you'll just keep coming back till you solve it. Until you beat it! Job well done. Haven't had an app this addictive since' Dream Revenant' and 'The Room!' Best play this at night with the lights off and a pair of Beats By Dr Dre for the FULL effect! ;-)

A little like outlast and mental hospital accept you don't have night vision. This is a little like outlast a definite must play horror game controls are pretty good no bugs and no crashes much more scary and added the scariest monsters yet and I feel like this is the only good horror game that's on App Store that compare to outlast cuz outlast has monsters this game has monsters and it has long hallways outlast has long hallways this is just like outlast only thing is you don't have a night vision camera

Really digging this one so far. This is the sort of premium experience that I hope we get more of in the tablet space. No ads, timers, or constant pushing of IAP here. The graphics are great, the atmosphere is great, sound effects, controls, it is all great. If you like survival horror genre this is a no brainer.

This was $3.99?!?!. This is the first review I’ve written for an app. I just wanted to say that I appreciate the game developers giving us such a lengthy, well thought of and detailed story plot. It was entertaining and exciting and it was like a mystery/horror movie unraveling. For $4 I did not expect the game to have such a long game play. Also, the graphics are amazing for a mobile app and they even a cool feature by tilting your phone and your first person camera view would lean left and right on the screen. The videos scenes were very smooth and transitioned so well. Totally worth it!!! So glad I purchased it and gave it a try!

Creepy as Hell. A great entry into the ever-growing iOS survival horror market, arriving a week prior to Forgotten Memories with NightCry, from the developers of the Clock Tower series, also on the way to iOS in the near future. Lost Within features a mix of the survival horror staples such as a creepy environment, an interesting backstory that shares some similarities to House on Haunted Hill and other horror films but would still make for a great movie, and diabolical monsters that at first seem pretty brainless but actually are twisted in that they will chase you through multiple doors. Oddly enough, they never figure out how to get you if you hide in a locker.

Truly amazing. Graphics:amazing story:amazing the game overall is one of the best on iOS in a while even the game is a little short (7-8 Hours) the presentation alone over shadows that. 5/5 stars

Outlast on iOS!!!. This game reminds me of outlast. If you do not know what outlast is its pretty much like this game. You hide and fight off Monsters and try to get out of an asylum...but there is one thing I don't like about the game and that is the monsters, the monsters really don't look scary. I want something I will run for my life from, Not standing there and going like..."Meh not too scary" although I do like where the story is heading off to, Good graphic design. Review. This game was absolutely amazing ! My friend and I instantly became hooked on it that we finished it in three days !!! and we were so sad when we realised it was over but it was totally worth every single penny. Boring. Ok game but is BOOORRRIIINNNGGG...

Fun stealth game. I'm a fan of stealth games so this is completely my genre, gameplay is pretty easy, good graphics and interesting atmosphere, only downside is the virtual stick which can get a bit fiddly, when I try to get through doors I always get stuck. Overall still a great game I especially like the fact that there is no in-game purchase.

I brought the game and when I was playing I was pumped and also I haven't seen these type of mobile horror games in a long long time...and I just wanted to say thank you that this game is great. The thing is tho it's annoying how you're characters slow and all but I still give this five stars. I'm on episode 2 chapter 2/3 now and the games still great. Thank you for the game 😎

Amazing horror survival game. Controls are great, I'm always worried about the controls on these devices since they tend to get hot after continuous play. The story and acting is top notch. Sound is perfectly fine, read a review that complained about the sound... I experienced no problems at all so far, plus there are subtitle if there are any words you missed. If you like survival horror games then this is well worth the cost.

One of the best games I've played. Don't usually write reviews but this game was incredible. I was a bit put off at first because it's not like other games I've played. But it's so simple. Everything makes sense. So intuitive and just captivating. Please make more of these. Just brilliant. Thank you.

Enjoyable game with a good story. I have played this all the way through and as a fan of horror games it's the best one I have played on the iPad, I am glad I forked over $9 for it, definitely worth it. The controls are easy enough, the graphics are very good for an iPad game, the story is well told and will keep you guessing to the very end. This isn't a cheap horror full of jump scares but more akin to Amnesia where the surroundings build up the tension. The monsters were quite well done too but I think they showed up a bit too often, near the end you kinda get used to them. That all said and done I would recommend this game and will be buying any other survival horror games this company releases.

Great game but.... This is a great horror/stealth action game the graphics are good the story is great and it is over all a fun game But I found it a bit to easy and was a bit short maybe add a survival mode or something but anyways great game would definitely recommend

Needs Much Better Virtual Controls!. Aside from being too expensive $7.99 (+Taxes - Making it $9.00), the controls are terrible. Needs MUCH better virtual joystick and MFI controllers. Been playing only for awhile and kinda bored already. When you encounter a creature/inmate, you're dead. One of those games where you touch the spot where you want to walk to, and your character moves there slowly towards the "X". If running to a locker to hide from a creature/inmate that's after you, you'll likely die before getting there. Needs controls similar to those of Dead Trigger/Dead Trigger 2/etc.. Graphics are good, responses are too slow. Needs a major overhaul to make this a better game. Get the two games I mentioned and Bioshock (amazing how that PS3 game is all on one Game App for only $10.00!) instead. All games should now model their controls after these games.

Great game. I loved the story line, the game leaves you confused at times but answers any questions you have throughout the chapters.

Good. Feels like I'm exploring the same areas over and over, rooms and corridors decor doesn't change much, good story I guess , doors move u out of the way if ur too close a bit goofy, only 2 different kind of bad guys ? Just wish there was a bit more then just rooms and hallways , still a very good game , there's no puzzles , finding keys too easy , I cant complain too much , with the bundle deal on sale, till mornings light made this game free

One of the Best Mobile Horror Games. For those searching for a long lasting, story driven horror game, look no further. This game is a great example of quality games, even though it’s on mobile. One of the coolest aspects of the game are the “Inhabitants”. Each type of monster plays differently from each other and each is equally frightening. I also like how the player can use the flashbacks to move through areas they normally couldn’t. My only problem with the game is the control scheme. When you are using the joystick, tapping the screen will still make you move to that location. Otherwise the game deserves my five stars, and my money as it delivered everything I want in a horror game. Even if it’s on mobile. This quality of games are rare so remember this title.

Wow .... just wow. This is an amazing game. The graphics are phenomenal and the story is addictive. Worth every penny!!

Incredible Game‼️. Purchased the game yesterday after having DL'd it with vShare a week ago. I only buy games worth the money, this one being VERY pricey @ $7.99 it's definitely worth it!! I'm playing it on iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.3 and have nothing but great experiences. I HIGHLY recommend. Also, it's a fairly big/long game. You won't beat it in an hour and want more.

Lost within. Very fun game nice long story. Extremely suspenseful and creepy. Great buy! Only con is the price it's a bit expensive

Survival horror at its best. Perfect pitch. The characters are interesting and engaging, the story is clever, the pacing is fantastic. I really liked how multiple items can help you craft your own way around, gives it a personal touch. Controls were generally functional, pretty solid for iPad. If you like survival horror at all, this is not to be missed.

I'm liking it. This is a good game. It's a very moody atmospheric thriller. Although I'm stuck in the locker and get killed every time I venture out I just know there is a way. Again I'd recommend this game to anyone that enjoys a scary romp down a uncertain path with lots of enemies and mega things to acquire.

Twisted Game. Now one of my Favorite scary games for the iOS. The ending is unique and creative, I never saw it coming.

This game is ok but needs an update for some stability which I see none so far it needs more crafting and actual weapons, a gun with bullets can't be too much to ask for a 5-6$ fone game and this game lags and some of the models look like complete garbage cmon man ... Interesting story. The controls are very bad, and you can not even shoot a gun without tapping an enemy, these flaws make it very difficult to enjoy despite the interesting story.

Awesome but short.. This app is an awesome substitute for amnesia (the game). Awesome amount of scary scenes and awesome commentary or voices. But the one thing that I hate about this app (which won't deduct the amount of stars given to this app) is that the game is VERY short. I kinda wish it was longer instead of having 3 episodes. Great game, kinda scary, few things wrong, totally worth the money though!. Considering this is Amazon's first game, this is mind-blowingly great! There are a few things, such as the controls. Not to much of an issue, I walked into inhabitants a few times, but it wasn't that consequential. However, the controls really become an issue in chapter 3 when the SCP 173 style monsters are introduced. It's virtually impossible to move away from them without looking away from them, which can, and in some cases did, kill the player. The controls CAN be changed in the settings though, so this is a very minor issue that can be fixed very easily. The story is very reminiscent of that of Outlast, but not so much so that it seems like a rip-off, so yeah. Great story, and they managed to pull off a sort of double-twist ending, which is incredibly impressive. Despite the lack of monster variations, I still found the monsters pretty creepy, but not really legitimately scary. The first 10 minutes or so of the game are absolutely terrifying, when you hear the monsters shuffling around, and all of the atmospheric creaking and moaning, it's really well done! And the first monster encounter froze my blood, and the first chase had me screaming, and having the monster bash me around in a locker had me moaning with dread, but after that.... The game wasn't that scary. Not to me anyway. The atmosphere loop was a little to short, and every time that there wasn't anything happening, it wasn't to build up tention, it was just to give the player an intermission. The atmosphere was constantly building trying to build up tension, but never really nailing it, except for the first part. So I guess it just proves that what you can't see scared you the most, and that this game should have utilised that more. But still, I consider this game GREAT, despite whatever griping I may have done about it. It's fantastic, And worth the money. If you like horror games, than maybe you should think about sticking to PC and consoles, but I must say, this is DEFINITELY the best iOS horror game there is, or at least that I know of. So yeah. It's worth the money. Buy it.

Started great but get t bored. This game starts good but it basically is the same level and enemies over and over. Got bored about half way and quit playing.
