The app and meals. The app is great the only thing I have difficulty with is if I want to swap/change a recipe; I find that to be challenging. Great possibility it’s just the user/me. The recipes have been really good and inventive, although I would like to see a little more variety of vegetables it seems to always be kale, collard greens, carrots and/or potatoes. Prior to blue apron I cooked everyday normally so the recipes have been a nice change up and are incredibly easy. Blue apron takes me out of having to think and using spices I haven't used before, it’s been enjoyable. I also like that my meals are for two and the portion sizes are perfect and help me stay w/in a good portion size for me which is helpful for the New Years resolution. I am excited about the whole 30 trial I love the idea and hope that we can make it for every meal if someone wants to make that choice. It would be great if Blue apron helps to lose weight with easy healthful meals.

Blue Apron brings our family together. I'm a single dad and historically struggled to meal plan. That is until I subscribed to Blue Apron several years ago. The meals are absolutely awesome - it has expanded my kids (and my own palette) - brings us together for at least 3 sit down meals each week - and has brought us closer as a family. Now sitting down for dinner several times a week is a tradition and my kids would not have it any other way. We sit, eat, talk and laugh. The best part is Blue Apron continues introducing new things like Craft Burgers and new recipes. I am always excited to go on the app (which is fantastic ) to see what's coming this week and select upcoming meals. Thank you for all the great work!

Definitely need to give this one a shot!. I thought so was going to sign up for Blue Apron and then give the other competitors a shot because they all have some awesome introductory pricing. But I ended up just sticking with Blue Apron because I liked it so much. I love that a meal for two can fill us up (and we love to eat) and most of the time we have enough leftover that one of us can take for lunch the next day. (This can’t be said about some of their competitors) I love the diversity and flavor of the meals and putting meals on the table that I would’ve never concocted on my own. Blue Apron saves me the hassle of going to the grocery store and plan my own meals for the week. Considering that I usually end up throwing away food or purchasing expensive, high sodium frozen meals; I’m saving money and time by going with Blue Apron. Definitely encourage everyone to give it a shot.

Good food/Meh service. Out of three boxes, all contained meals that were good to great. Two arrived late, however, so I wasn’t able to use all the meals and didn’t want to bother with seeking a refund. My real issue started when I tried to reschedule my delivery date from Monday to Sunday; it was a debacle. Although the app says your delivery choices run from Sunday to Saturday, their week really runs from Monday to Sunday. So when I switched from Monday delivery to Sunday delivery, they cancelled the Monday delivery and didn’t schedule a delivery until the following Sunday—leaving me with no food for a week. But then they kept the old Mondays scheduled too! So I had food being scheduled to arrive Sunday followed by another delivery the next day. Customer service was not helpful. The concept is great; the execution needs some work though. Too bad because the food was good.

Mom never had it so good!. We love Blue Apron and the app. It is easy to use, and we haven’t had any issues using it. Pricing is transparent so we always know how much we are getting charged. Food choices are easy to make based on the complete information, including nutrition, for each meal. One can change the order up to a certain point in time, one can add a premium meal if one wishes, and can even add wine or additional meals. Company coming? Don’t think that is a problem either, order meals for 4 instead of two! Or do the meal prep instead, which lets you prep your meals for the coming week. I was brought up doing cooking of a certain ethnic group, and Blue Apron has allowed my husband and I to try out new ingredients and techniques! I wish my mom had lived long enough to try Blue Apron - I think she would have loved it!

Gone Downhill Fast. We had the Blue Apron service for over a year. At first we liked the variety, getting precise quantities of ingredients and the flavor was generally good. But in the last couple of months, things have deteriorated. First was when all the vegetables froze during cold periods (cold but normal winter weather for Chicago). The mushrooms were so solid the could have been used on a pool table. Then the delays started happening. Shipments wouldn’t arrive on time. Coupled with the less cold but normal winter temperatures, we again received frozen vegetables (bok choy doesn’t do well frozen). We also received ingredients that had been unsealed at some point in the process so we were afraid to use them. Then we got moldy cheese. The last straw was last night’s delivery that didn’t come last night. It was supposedly delivered today at 12:09pm but when we went outside within an hour, no package. I hope the delivery guy enjoyed my $90 of food. Subscription cancelled as of today. Something is amiss with BA quality control. Hope they fix it but I’ll never know.

Blue Apron. I buy 2 meals a week from blue apron. It has helped me to get motivated to cook after a long day of work. I buy the 4 person meals so I have 1-2 left overs to take to work the next day. The pre-portioned spices and seasonings are a life saver. You can’t stock every single spice so I would tend to make a lot of the same flavors over and over before I used blue apron. Now my meals have variety and everyone loves to eat! The only thing I wish was that I could choose my favorite meals more often so I could become more familiar with the ingredients and cooking would be faster. If you want to eat healthier, but don’t think you have time you should try blue apron at a larger portion than is needed so you are meal prepping for the week! This is a great service!

I can Actually Cook Now. I'm in my 50's. I thought I was a terrible cook. Really what I was terrible at was the organizing part of cooking, which is what Blue Apron does for me. Because cooking really is following directions, right? I'm fine at that. The Blue apron people give you really easy to follow directions. But they also give you all the ingredients including interesting spices I never would've tried otherwise. They give you the right amounts of the ingredients, so in the cases of the vegetables, you don't end up with lots of extra food that goes to waste when you're like me and you don't have the kitchen-confidence and creativity to know what to do with it after you cook one recipe. And it's just easier and more fun to cook now. The food is also delicious which is a huge plus of course. I feel healthier. I feel better about myself as a person and I'm so happy I found and tried this. And my husband is like, who are you and what have you done with Kristen? 😂

Insanely hit or miss. Amazing recipe IDEAS and general flavors, but the written recipes are normally so sloppy or if followed exactly will result in a terrible outcome. You must have some knowledge in the kitchen for for this delivery service to be at all plausible for you, because you often have to improvise around their inadequate instructions or ingredients. Speaking of ingredients, there is ALWAYS at least one ingredient missing, rotten, or otherwise unusable (looking at that nasty, rubbery tilapia and tough steak) in each box and nobody at the company will do anything to remedy these problems. Most recently, weeks after I’d confirmed the recipes in an upcoming order of mine, I went to check it (out of habit?) and it had changed to three recipes I did not want without notifying me. Thank god I had checked in time to cancel the order, because upon further inspection, almost all of the recipes offered for that week were suddenly “sold out”. Sold to who? I’m a paying customer, a subscriber to the service who confirmed my order, and for whatever reason they’ve been sold to someone else without any notification asking if I’d still like my box despite the fact that I can’t get any of the meals that I wanted? What a nightmare. Most likely making the full switch to Home Chef soon if all this trouble continues.

Overall Good App. For the most part, I like the app. It’s easy to navigate through. I gave it a 4 star because of its inability to track your package. I like to track its delivery so I can check to see if it’s been delivered. The FAQ says your tracking number is in the email received once the box is shipped. This is inaccurate. The email does not contain the tracking number. It does have a link to click that is supposed to take you to the tracking. That link goes back yo the app where you have to input your tracking number. But you don’t have a tracking number. There is no tracking number in the email nor can you find a tracking number within the app. I hope they can get this fixed. When the package is delivered, the delivery service doesn’t notify you that it’s just been dropped at your door. If possible, I do ask that Blue Apron start putting the tracking number in the email as stated in their FAQ. Thanks.

No Value. I’m truly confused on where people are finding value in this service. It’s cheaper to shop elsewhere. It’s more convenient as well. The meal options aren’t particularly quick to make. If you want to set it and forget it and simply allow the service to pick your meals, you’ll end up with the cheapest option they can provide. For example, I let it auto pick my options one week and they sent me a pasta dish that should have one of two meats, without the meat. Why would you default to the alternative vegetarian option if I’m not on a vegetarian plan and have ordered meat dishes? Lastly, I don’t find the dishes particularly healthy. It feels like they overcomplicate some dishes so you feel like the service is more worthwhile (because people might question the value if they were sent a dish with just a few ingredients which would be easy to shop for on your own). But in doing so, they’re adding so many calories to dishes.

Learning New Ways of Cooking at 80!. We love our Blue Apron Meals. My husband has a lengthy illness. Planning so many meals from our old family recipes became boring. We eat most meals at home. The variety of meals of various international foods has been much more exciting and delicious than my old fashioned cooking. I enjoy learning new ways to prepare my meals that I am serving my husband. I am amazed how he has enjoyed them and asks for repeats of them. We are both 80 years old and usually stuck in our ways. I like not having to shop for groceries , the ease and organization of preparation, using fewer utensils , and of course, the outstanding flavors in each meal. I have never cooked this delicious ever… it is not too late to learn with the help of Blue Apron! Dishes and cuts of meat, chicken and fish are excellent.

I’ve compared you to Hello Fresh…. For the past 2 months I’ve been bouncing back and forth every other week between the two top rated food delivery services, Blue Apron and Hello Fresh. Both companies delivered fresh quality food with tasty recipes we truly enjoyed week after week. It was difficult to choose. Customer service was outstanding for both companies also. But the deciding factor came down to use of the App and ease of ordering! Blue Apron you are the winner, hands down. Your App has a brain! It knows who I am and what I ordered previously. The Hello Fresh App on the other hand, has no clue. Every time I opened it up , it thought I was a new customer & never recognized me as a returning customer. After speaking to the technical support representative I found out I wasn’t the only one having this problem. So if it’s a recurring problem, why not fix it? My evaluation is complete. Blue Apron is the keeper. Thank you for having a user friendly outstanding App and a great company too!

So happy!!. I could say this about all these recipes. I love this idea. As long as you keep sending great food with easy to follow recipes for a great price, I am sold. Most of the time I don’t know how to cook. I work night shift. I tried TV dinners, the cafeteria, drive thrus and making my own. I just was having such a time of it with chicken breasts. Because of my previous bad eating habits, I was putting on weight like crazy. Thanks to your service, I now have great meals at work that are part of my Weight Watchers plan. I love the way that ingredients that I would normally buy that would go bad later are sent to me in the just right size. I can’t stand when my shelves get cluttered with ingredients that I won’t use again. I am so happy with this. Thank you!!

Good product, abysmal customer service. Okay, so the positives are what everyone already knows. The food is good quality and the recipes are simple but tasty. Here is the bad: There is no “pause” button for anything indefinite. You have to manually skip, week by week, which can be a huge pain. Sometimes the skip button won’t work and you’ll get billed for orders you don’t want. There is no way to cancel this, and you’re not given an alert as to your deadline to skip things you don’t want. And once you get fed up with all of that, there’s no way to cancel the subscription in app! You have to call. I can’t see any technical reason why these features can’t be integrated into this app, so it really feels like intentional oversights. As much as I genuinely like the product, I have no plan to continue giving money to a company with such awful customer service (or at best, a horrible app development team, which I think is incredibly unlikely). This has been a very upsetting experience.

Flawless execution. From signing up on the website to being able to surprise my wife with a delicious five star meal paired with wine one week later - Blue Apron makes the dream possible. Hi, I’ve never cooked a gourmet meal in my life; steaks, sandwiches, even salads - I can do that, but a balanced beautiful display of sides, a main course, and a wine with a fool proof pairing guide- complete with history and flavor notes I felt like I was getting a full education in food. The quality is great and ultimately I was able to surprise my wife with my cooking abilities which was a real treat. I would recommend this to someone who wants a turn-key option, someone who wants to learn to cook (myself), or someone who wants to supplement eating out with an in-house option (myself). Highly recommend!

Easiest app to navigate EVER. App is super easy to use and Blue Apron is genius. The meals are so flavorful, they always show up to my house Mondays, so I don’t have to waste my wknd food shopping/prepping for dinners. There are lots of options to choose from weekly! I even have leftovers for lunch the next day bc portion sizes are big. I learn to cook with new ingredients, no food waste, and I get to gift boxes of free food to friends. They even have a recycling program. Can’t go wrong with Blue Apron! They even have Whole30 friendly options now. The app is suuuuuuuper easy to schedule/skip deliveries...and look at the recipes during the day to get an idea of how much prep is needed. I use my app multiple times weekly! You can also preview each recipe before you add it to your order. And it’s soooooo easy to navigate/use. Good job Blue Apron 🙌🏻

Thanksgiving. I’m ordering sides from Blue Apron this year. Everything looks so good. I learned so much from cooking in the past. I even learned how to chop an onion when they offered videos. This thanksgiving is going to be great. I’m forced to be a vegetarian because of health issues and Blue Apron gives me so many healthy choices. My meat eating son tried some of what I cooked vegetarian and he loves it. He is kind of a snob too. It was too expensive for me in the past but now my friend who is vegetarian too is paying for everything. It’s so great I can skip meals I’m going to visit my cousin in Napa so will skip in December 1 but look forward to making over night oats for breakfast one of these days. Blue Apron is Great. 😊

Grandma is a chef now!. I’ve been using Blue Apron for approximately two months now and I couldn’t be more delighted! I am 81 years old and refuse to cook for one person, but I still like to eat well. My main concern was that I was wasting too many ingredients, didn’t know what I was going to eat the next day, and frankly I didn’t like my cooking that much. Problems solved with Blue Apron! I can plan my meals weeks ahead, I only get the necessary ingredients, no waste (a sprig of parsley instead of a bunch), and ingredients that I would have never thought of using or combining but that taste amazingly good! Another plus is that I can follow the instructions to the letter and end up with a magnificent dish and a clean kitchen by the time I sit to eat my delicious meal. I also appreciate the quality of the ingredients. I also realized that I am spending a lot less now than eating take out on the spur of the moment. I feel like a chef now! Thanks so much, Blue Apron!

Best thing since Kool Aid. I’ve tried two other meal kit companies and by far, Blue Apron is my favorite. The meals are easy to make and are really delicious!! I’ve also had so many different types of food that I’ve enjoyed. My goal in 2018 is trying to eat better and Blue Apron definitely has assisted with that. I also decided a while back to reduce how much meat I eat, but I didn’t think I would find too many vegetarian meals I would like. Mannnnnn....listen hear!! Blue Apron vegetarian meals are my favorite and they are actually filling. However, I do love the chicken. It’s juicy and taste great regardless how it’s cooked. On the other hand, there are a few things I don’t like about Blue Apron. First, they seem to force certain types of food in your meal. When I first became a customer, I ate potatoes like every week. I had to take a break for like two weeks bc I was getting tired of potatoes with or in almost all of my meals. Now it’s snow peas, but that’s not a big deal; I just throw them a way. Snow peas don’t make or break your meal. The second thing I don’t like is the chicken portion size; especially when it’s already chopped up. I ran out of chicken for one of my taco/wrap meals before. Last, is the price. $60 for three meals a week is sometimes too much for me. Nevertheless, I’ll still give them a five because I can’t give them 4.5 stars.

10/10. This app and this service make my life easier to live. Having this OG set it and forget it delivery service for FOOD is incredible. Having fresh veggies is a cornerstone in fighting off depression. Not having to go to the store is a RELIEF on my stress and gives me more time to focus on myself. Having the set weekly prices, helps me to budgets and gives me financial wellness. I cannot stress enough how much this service has saved me in stress, mental health, and finances. Don’t get me started on the wine pairings. It feels like I’m having a beautiful high end dinner at HOME. The app is EASY to use and is really good at showing the extras available that actually apply to me. I want them all so bad. I will have to budget them in. As a child free duo, getting the 4 person meal set ensures we aren’t spending money on lunch at work. It’s also a fulfilling lunch that is delicious and made at HOME. They fit perfectly into our glass meal prep containers and pop right into our lunch boxes. Having this meal kit makes me look like I have my life together at home and most importantly, at work. Thank you Blue Apron for the absolute amazing service, it really is something that I can appreciate and rely on in my life. You give me more time to focus on my health and wealth, when everything else is against me in those goals. Yes. This is not an asked for review. I’ve had this service for 5 years now. We are well past the “asking for review” stages. And everyone always swipes those away.

Great quality. Not only is Blue apron great quality, they make everything simple to make with easy to follow directions. There are many choices to choose from and have delivered recipes to me that have taught me how to use ingredients I would never have thought to use before. Customer service is amazing. One time I got a meal that was supposed to include 2 full chicken breasts but instead it came with basically I pre chopped up chicken breast. I reported it on the app and they immediately responded with their apologies and refund us the difference. Also it’s so nice to have so you don’t find yourself asking your spouse “what should we do for dinner?” Then finding yourself just picking up unhealthy fast food! A+ for sure!

Wonderful choices and wonderful customer service. We have been using Blue Apron for about 4 months now. I love the different options that are given each week. The meals have all been great. I am able to go in, pick the meals that look good to us and then when they come, I place each meal and ingredients in a clear plastic container and write in dry erase marker what meal is in it. I enjoy that I don’t have to shop and really ask what’s for dinner each night. I love that everything is labeled and the quality is simply amazing. The protein quality is ABOVE wonderful, beats supermarkets and local specialty stores near me. I will say this. My husband, mom and I do not have small children so we love the different options of food. If you have picky eaters or are looking for more Americana home cooked I would recommend going elsewhere. We love the more unique flavors and we have had foods that we have never heard of and most certainly wouldn’t be willing to try otherwise. I have had 1 issue and customer service, called, emailed and followed up. I am 1,000% satisfied and really have enjoyed this service as well as the app!

App works well, food good but pkg could be better. So far I’ve had this subscription for a few weeks and loving the food I’ve been sent. This is my second time using a food subscription, and compared to Hello Fresh, I do enjoy the meals a little more. HOWEVER, packaging is all over the place. The produce looks like it’s literally thrown in, without organization. The only one in bags are the smaller items, like spices and lemon. Hello Fresh was more put together, all in one paper bag. To my surprise, Blue Apron has the box and the gel recyclable, but then the bag for the small ingredients are in plastic versus the paper bags that Hello Fresh has. If I were to compare ease, I would rather go with Hello Fresh than Blue Apron. Everything in one bag and the recipes are easier to follow in Hello Fresh.

Fully appreciated!!. It has become increasingly difficult, in our city, to find a restaurant that satisfies my husband’s and my desire to enjoy a quiet, intimate, relaxing atmosphere with a gourmet meal. Blue Apron has allowed me the privilege preparing dinner in as much of an intimate relaxed atmosphere as I can imagine and create. When plated on fine china and silver, with candles, wine, and my own selection of music, I am so delighted to offer a gourmet meal that has yet to disappoint either of us. The convenience of this beautiful and healthy selection of quality food, fresh and well packaged, is worth every penny. I’ve introduced a number of friends to this service, and all have been grateful. Thank you to the chefs and workers who have produced a unique service of excellence. Kristine Kalamazoo, MI

Blue Apron is genius!. My husband returned to a full time job 7 months ago, and I work full time as a nurse. Prior to my husbands return to work, he took care of the house, the shopping and the cooking. We are in our 70’s and we love our jobs, but we have been struggling to find time and energy to put good meals on our table every night. I love to cook, and I am so impressed with the quality of the dishes, but the real genius is in the way it is all prepackaged with every single fresh and organic ingredient, complete with step by step instructions that can be perfectly exercised to make a meal new, different and delicious within minutes. Chef quality meals! I don’t have to think or shop or run to the store for an ingredient I don’t have in my pantry! Thank you for changing our lives and broadening our palates.

Scam or really bad developers. This site is either a scam, or written by really bad developers. We were given a gift card to try this service. It said in the info that we did not need to supply a credit card to try it. After multiple tries with both the website and app (working with a customer support person on the “chat” who kept telling us to click on buttons that didn’t exist) we think we had an “order” placed. Three days later our account is canceled and the gift card no longer works! We were told that the account was canceled because we didn’t put in a credit card (which the site specifically said we did NOT need to do). They re-activated the gift card, AND we put in a credit card number, but it was impossible to tell what would be charged, if the gift-card was actually recognized and going to be used, etc. There seems to be no “account” information anywhere in their system so you never know what you are actually going to be charged! So, to us, this seems more like some kind of scam so we just canceled our account and are closely monitoring our credit card for unauthorized charges.

Very Caring and Great Responsive Team. I have had a delivery problem for 2 weeks and not did Blue Apron go above and beyond, they heard me, investigated the issue and quickly came up with a solution. This week everything was perfect because of the team’s caring and hard work. My husband and I love the service, choice of food, easy prep and delicious recipes. We did not want to find another service, but our frustration level was at an all time high, which is not really out personalities. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, care, and communication that the staff at Blue Apron showed in reaching out out your us via email on a daily basis with updates and solutions. We will be dedicated customers with Blue Apron for many years to come and continue to share what a GREAT service it provides all around. I cannot express our appreciation and gratitude to your team as this week we had the experience we have always experienced with Blue Apron! We will be resuming our happing cooking this week! Thank you for working with us, going above and beyond to ensure that we were receiving your quality service and were more then satisfied. Amy and Alex Easley

Incorrect direction sheet. This has been our first week, with Blue Apron, and we were quite happy! We recently spent a week in Florida, with friends and they shared 3 recipes with us. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality, recipe diversity and the portion control, with these meals. They then set us up with 2 free meals to further evaluate the program and it’s usefulness for us, on an everyday basis. We have loved the 2 meals and had just one mishap. We received an incorrect recipe sheet for one of the meals. Fortunately, you provide the instructions on the app. We anticipate keeping the program, at least through the winter and even through the Covid-19 pandemic. The biggest hurdle I see ties to summertime meals and events that tend to be last minute get together as. Perhaps the meal options can better reflect that style of eating as we get closer to that time.

Reliable and tasty - possible bug in app. I think about cancelling all the time but the meals are always good, food is high quality and fresh, and my family always rates them at least a 7 on a 10 point scale. It’s nice to not have to think about dinner for two meals each week, plus I get a lunch leftover or two (we are a family of three). The bad: there seems to be a bug. I have paused two weeks recently before the deadline and still received food. They credited the first time but I really need this solved. Also, I want an option to order some of the seasonings, sauces, or specialty ingredients as add-one to future orders so I can “make it again”. And I’d like to be able to have a section of “always on” recipes to choose from so we can get repeats. I understand they want to offer variety but it’s good to have some standards too.

Helpful. So I usually just cook from the recipe cards, but for some reason I couldn't find the one for the recipe I wanted to make (I have about a 3" stack of recipe cards from Blue Apron because I thought I would end the service soon after beginning). Needless to say I haven't ended it, but I still have all the recipes. With the app, however, I was able to pull up the missing recipe and cook away. In addition, the app is very helpful in planning my menu and with skipping weeks where I know I won't be able to take full advantage of the service. Overall, I'm very pleased with Blue Apron. The food is fresh, the recipes are delicious, and although the portions are generous, the portion control has also helped me to control my weight. I went out to dinner with my wife not long ago and 70 bucks later with bland food, I was wishing we had just come home and had Blue Apron.

Blue Apron, Mom’s best friend!. Blue Apron has solved my what’s for dinner dilemma for good! I’ve been a home maker for 20 years and I have a few great family favorites up my sleeve. But after many years of cooking 5-6 nights a week, I’m left feeling uninspired, tired of my rotations and wandering the grocery store aisles wondering what to cook for dinner for my family, again! Blue Apron, to the rescue! Blue apron has made cooking fun again and dinner is always new and delicious. It’s so easy, even my husband has stepped up to cooking, and he loves it! The recipes are so straight forward and easy to follow. There’s no guess work, everything you need is on hand and just the right amount, no waste! No more searching for ingredients all over the grocery store, having to drive back to the store because you forgot that one key ingredient! Everything is fresh and stored in a convenient package ready to go in the fridge (makes my fridge look so tidy and organized). The recipes are always delicious and never disappoints. The best part is I’m exposed to new things I would never try on my own. Blue apron has made cooking fun again, and it will always be on my weekly menu. I’ve subscribed to other mail delivery meals and the food in Blue Apron is the freshest, best quality by far! My family looks forward to it every week! Thank you Blue Apron for coming to the rescue for dinner at my house every week!

Great food, great company. The food from Blue Apron has consistently surprised me, such that I always love their food! Even when the ingredients are odd, and I don’t think I’ll like them, I end up loving the combinations. It’s a very healthy solution to not knowing what to cook each night. Personally, I often spend more time cooking than their estimates, but I’ve also felt my cooking skills slowly and steadily improving. I really like that I have ingredients delivered to my door, since I don’t have too much time for grocery shopping. One of the biggest perks I think of Blue Apron is that they provide exactly how much you’ll need; no more and no less, which prevents me from wasting food (my pet peeve). The app itself is very easy to navigate, and you can visit all of your delivery history to remember which meals were your favorites. You can also save a meal to have the same effect. It’s very simple to skip or reschedule a delivery, and I love how easy it is to pick your meals for the week (they provide 8 options). The customer service is also very competent and quick to respond to any issues. You can tell they really value customer satisfaction. Great service, great app!

Definitely recommend. I just finished cooking my third meal tonight for my family. Everyone loved all three meals. I attend school online and work from home. Plus I work on my two daughters school work and activities and care for a 9 month old. It’s not easy coming up with new ideas or going to the grocery store for certain things. This has definitely made it easier. The meals don’t take long but they’re made from scratch and my daughters love helping me read the directions and prepare the food. I definitely recommend this. You eat a variety of healthy food you honestly wouldn’t of thought of buying and you don’t have to worry about fresh food going bad. The best part it all taste delicious. I am very happy that I decided to try it.

I LOVE Blue Apron!!!. I have tried several comparable apps, and this, I think, is head and shoulders above the others! I have had serious problems with the other apps; I have had problems with one sending the wrong recipe cards, and, at LEAST once they sent me the wrong ingredients! Another forgot to send any of the meats and fish! The variety of foods Blue Apron offers is amazing, and the recipes are extremely easy to follow. There are great photos; They even show photos that give you an idea for plating your creation! Also, I’ve been introduced to seasonings that I have never heard of before. I keep all the recipe cards so I can attempt to make something from one of the recipe cards , minus the ingredients that I can’t find, but I try to make it as close to the original as I can!

I LOVE BLUE APRON!!. I have never been disappointed with a single recipe from Blue Apron. There were times when I was cooking with food I’ve never heard of before but I never discarded an ingredient or changed a recipe. I figured, how bad could it taste? A recent recipe for roasted broccoli called for squeezing the juice of a fresh lemon on it after it baked. I said to myself, “I don’t need lemon juice on my broccoli. My broccoli is fine the way it is.” Then I said, “What the heck!” OMG! What a new taste sensation! I also roasted garlic cloves with the broccoli because they were left over from a previous recipe. If a recipe calls for two cloves of garlic, Blue Apron will send a whole bulb of garlic so there’s always leftover garlic. I cook for just myself so Blue Apron has been great for me. I thought about trying other food services but I figured, why mess with perfection! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Not so “fresh ingredients* & Bad customer service. Sometimes when I ordered food from blue apron it was good or just ok. But sometimes it wasn’t such as receiving spoiled tilapia or like my last order had the ponzu sauce spilt all over the bag and all over other ingredients when it arrived ruining the entire meal. When I voiced my concerns to customer service they refused to issue a refund and said I could receive a credit towards future orders. I said no thank you, I don’t know when I’ll be ordering again and would just like a refund, they still refused. If I were to buy defective or spoiled food from the grocery store they would give me a refund with my receipt if that’s what I wanted not a gift card, and for this I cannot give blue apron a good rating. A customer should not be forced to get a gift card for defective food they should get a refund if desired within a reasonable amount of time. I was forced to purchase and for this I will not be ordering from blue apron again. I feel it’s dishonest business practices and stealing from my credit card.

Streamlined. The BA app is so streamlined and easy to navigate I actually look forward to opening it. The only problem I’ve had is deciding which meals to order from the variety of choices given! Deciding when or if I want a delivery is my choice. BA does not tie you down with a subscription or contract. Using their app I’ve been able to appreciate the nutritional values of their meals. What I truly enjoy is the education I’m getting! So many ingredients I never heard of as well as the tutorials for the various methods used to successfully follow the recipes are beneficial to any cook! Being a newbie, a particular favorite of mine is the section in each recipe that has tips from other members of the BA community. One question usually has multiple answers from those who are more than happy to share their spin on a recipe.

Best decision to use Blue Apron!!. Initially, I was skeptical. But after making a few meals, I am truly impressed with the quality, flavor and ease of preparation. I've worked in gourmet restaurants and am absolutely a foodie. I'm also no slacker in the kitchen. But I hated how much food was getting wasted and how I would just stock up on all the stuff and then never really know what to make. While I do think the individual servings are a bit pricey, about $20 pp, it's less than you would pay at a restaurant, far healthier, more delicious than most things you get and we we can usually squeeze one and a half to two meals out of each portion. In fact, it's hard to eat out anymore because I'm so unimpressed by many of the meals compared to Blue Apron quality and flavor. I love that there is zero waste and I get to pick from a pretty good selection of options. I don't have to think about what I'm going to make, no more grocery shopping list, and the whole family is much healthier. 🥬 Not to mention, I've tried new foods that I would never have even considered, like barley instead of rice, it is so much better! I don't know how this isn't a normal thing. One big complaint... from My Son who isn't ecstatic. We have gone from going through the drive-through at least five times a week to once a month. 😂 🍔 🍟 I've also learned that cooking doesn't have to be crazy with a million ingredients; some of the techniques and sauces are as simple as salt and pepper. Mind blown 🤯🥗🍲

Food consistently rotten or missing. Tried to cancel after the veggies we got were brown and mushy and/or meat had ripped packaging (aka not safe to eat) five weeks in a row. They make it very difficult to cancel. Every time I tried I was ~*mysteriously*~ logged out. Feature or bug? It’s not clear. Like others have mentioned, Blue Apron will not refund you for spoiled food. They keep offering you gift cards that will cover at most 20% of another order. When I said I don’t plan to order again because the quality has gone way down hill they refused to refund me for the spoiled, inedible food they mailed me. :) cool. If I’m paying a huge premium for the convenience of having food delivered right to my door and every week something is spoiled and I need to go to the grocery store, how do you possibly think reimbursing me for the money I spend at the grocery store is somehow fixing the problem? I literally paid you 5x specifically to not have to go to the grocery store. Not at all impressed with the customer service.

Horrible. I was very excited about using Blue Apron. However, I was a member for four months and every shipment had an issue. These included gel packs leaking all over the ingredients (the gel isn’t food safe but they don’t tell you this until you report it), lost shipments, shipments arriving days ahead of the scheduled arrival date (so I wasn’t home to receive them), ingredient/dish substitutions without asking me first, etc. Whenever I reached out to their customer service, they would send the same template response that they’ll let their quality and logistics team know. I wanted to enjoy this because the idea was perfect on paper for my lifestyle (I like to cook but have little time to plan meals and purchase ingredients) but the quality and customer service are extremely low. Save yourself money and headaches by using a competing service or delivering ingredients from your local supermarket. I hope this review helps.

Weight Watchers meal plan. My wife and I are trying to make healthier lifestyle changes, and or meals is one of the more drastic changes we are focusing on. We signed up for the weight watchers meal plan for two, with two meals per week. So far we have been relatively satisfied with the meals. They taste good and don’t take long to prepare when compared to other meal delivery services. The only complaint I have, as with other meal delivery services, is we’d like to have options for more meals per week, especially with the weight watchers meal plan. I feel that having more meals per week options would help us stay on track with healthier eating. The other complaint I have is some meals don’t have a lot of substance, which left us still quite hungry. For example, we got the grilled chicken with apple and kale salad ( I can’t remember the exact name), and we got one chicken breast for two people. We just wish there was a little more chicken; however, I understand WW focuses on portion control, but the portion still felt a bit small for two people. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Blue Apron for the ease and faster prep time than other meal delivery services, and also recommend the WW meal plan since it shows you the number of points for each meal. Hopefully Blue Apron will increase the number of days the WW meal plan is offered, or offer both a 2 and 4 meal per week plan.

Good, but not for everyone. I’ve been using BA off and on for about 7 years and overall I think it’s a great service for a certain type of person. I live alone and travel often for work so it’s great for someone like me. But there are a couple of things that could be improved. The app used to be much more user friendly when it came to searching for past recipes. Now it’s absolutely useless. I go to my delivery history if I need to find something now, which is not ideal. They also seemed to have gotten rid of the in-app community element. I used to rely on that for each recipe to get tips on how to adjust recipes because let’s face it, sometimes the recipes need to be adjusted to work. Now I think you have to join the Facebook group which is limiting; I don’t use FB anymore. Overall the recipes are more elevated than the competitors and it still works for me, although it can be hit or miss. It’s not for everyone.

GREAT SERVICE!. Blue Apron has proven to be a wonderful way to make meals easier and fun. It saves a lot of trouble with shopping and makes cooking a fun and educational experience. It’s nice not to have to think about getting all the ingredients and having to find the recipe and hope it’s a good one. I haven’t had one single Blue Apron meal that I disliked. There were literally only one or two that I rated less than 5 stars. The meals are creative, tasty, interesting, and all the ingredients are fresh and pre-measured. I have expanded my cooking skills greatly since using the service. The app works great and gives me all the options of the website and services in an easy to use interface. Pricing is extremely fair, even after the trial period. For the quality and convenience and variety, $10/meal seems very reasonable. A+++

Very friendly and easy to use. A well-designed app to go along with their well-designed recipes. My wife and I constantly comment on how tasty dinner is as we’re eating what we’ve prepared. The offered recipes contain all the details you need to make your choices: ingredients, prep time, nutritional data, etc. Very easy to select and change your selection of recipes for a week’s delivery. You can look ahead about a month to make choices. Very easy to skip a week or several weeks of recipes. If you have questions or problems, their chat help is pretty prompt (a minute of two wait after you activate the chat) and quite helpful. I’m sure it’s a real person helping, unless science-fiction quality AI has decided that Blue Apron will be where it makes its debut. Also fairly easy to cancel membership entirely. (Which I did when I felt that I wanted a break and didn’t want to have to remember to keep skipping weeks.) I appreciate this bit of honesty in business practice. It’s also easy to re-establish your membership. (Which I also did.) The only flaw I’ve found on the app (and it’s a tiny flaw) is that if you change a week’s selections from the default choices, and then skip that week’s delivery, and then change your mind and un-skip, the selected recipes revert to the default.

Please make app more user friendly. 1. This is a review of app, not the service. 2. Please make a full screen version for tablets. I can expand the view partly, but not fully. Why? If there’s a way to do that, why is it not user friendly? 3. Please improve the “extras” interface. One of the surprises about BA that I like is the wine service. The only way that I know how to reach that screen is by clicking on an ad (for something that I don’t want) in the middle of the screen. Then I can access a drop down menu that maybe, kinda gets me where I want to go. Then, you keep listings for wines that are sold out - and I click on that, realize it’s sold out, and then when I go back to the original screen, you’ve kicked me (way) up into the kitchen utensils. Then I have to scroll a very long way back down to the wines. There are customers out there who, when confronted with this sort of commercial tactic, wind up aborting the whole transaction. Otherwise, the app works fine. Thanks.

Do not sign up!!. Do not sign up for this food delivery service! They will take your money and not help you when THEY make a mistake. They charged me for a delivery that was canceled, as soon as I saw this charge I sent an email informing them of the mistake. They then tell me “ok well thank you for letting us know we need more information.” After they receive said information they do not respond to me emails until 2 days later and proceeded to tell me they can’t do anything about it. Not to mention the meals they sent were not anything my family would eat. So I asked if they could at least change what meals we would be getting. Nope they wouldn’t help at all. So then on top of them charging me for an order that I did not want, it overdrafts our account and we end up paying 140$ for food no one would eat. Do yourself a favor and do not sign up for this service. There is more than one company to provide this service that I’m sure cares about their customer base than Blue Apron.

Convenient & now I’m a better cook!. I love Blue Apron! It’s so convenient, the ingredients are fresh, the protein is high quality (especially seafood and ground beef/pork) and the meals are delicious! By using the recipes and learning how to do preparation first, I’m actually becoming a better cook/chef! It’s awesome. Even my husband who is hard to please likes it. Anything with spicy sauce or seasoning I can make it on the side or non-spicy first and let him have all the spices. We are a family of 3 most of the time (when my son visits we are 4) and the 4-meal weeks work great for us. We usually have a serving of leftovers for lunch the next day. When he comes we have just enough food. I like that all the veggies are seasonal too. Thanks Blue Apron for making it easy & delicious! Can’t wait to try the Thanksgiving menu!

Blue Apron is a Star. Blue Apron is a Star at dinner it’s so true they bring new and healthy things to the table. Nothing ever goes to waste and you have everything you need at hand. Nothing for the meal is ever forgotten it’s all right there in the box nice perfect and fresh. I have done other meal services and blue apron is the best hands down. They also will pay shipping for you to send everything back to recycle so that nothing goes to waste. I mean seriously I have Blue Apron as part of my weekly meal twice a week and I love it. I am thinking of adding more days. The beauty is that you can add and take away days using the app on your phone. That’s it one key stroke. It’s brilliant. Blue Apron is a life saver I’m telling you these recipes are amazing, delicious, fresh, inventive, and the whole family can do it. Don’t hesitate to take Blue Apron for a spin you won’t be disappointed.

Not good.. What started off as the go to meal delivery service has taken a turn for the worse. I used it years ago in another state and was thrilled with the service and innovative recipes available. After getting an offer in the mail, I decided to try them out again, but I was sorely disappointed. The first delivery was delivered a day late. The second delivery was then canceled by blue apron. We are now on week three and the delivery was said to be shipped and delivering today. After not showing up, I got an email at 5pm saying that it had been delayed again. On top of the inconvenience of having to scramble for dinner tonight, I have been let down with the choices now available. What used to be exciting dishes with flavors from across the globe has become cheap and mundane. I have tried out other meal kit deliveries, and your money is better spent with pretty much anyone else.

Thank you Blue Apron. Merry Christmas! I’ve been a gift recipient of your chef quality meals on and off over the past 2 years as I struggled with an illness zapping me of strength and motivation to prepare food that previously excited me, gave back to who I am, connected me in an international sense. Then along came my gift … 💙Apron. The recipes, spices, sauces, complete ingredients at my Montana doorstep, ignited my desire for food again. The quality of produce, protein, spice is beyond what I could source for myself. It is economical on my budget, flexible with your skip delivery option, nutritionaly healthy, fun to prepare. I am ordering meals going forward. TYSM! Trish Stark

Gourmet Meals. We have been purchasing blue apron meals for the last 10 years five or take! The meals have improved tremendously over the years. Don’t get me wrong - they have ALWAYS been excellent but the last few years have just been over the top with unique meals and outstanding flavors! We do subscribe to the other mail order meals but we always find Blue Apron meals to be extra delicious! The other little thing that I like is that ALL of the ingredients are included such as butter and sugar. All I need is the olive oil and salt and pepper! Keep it comin Blue Apron!!!

The delectable menu that you will Love. Everything from picking the recipes that you will be cooking, to receiving your box, to taste the amazing meals, has been a sheer pleasure. It inspires new confidence to create such fantastic food. This is definitely the foodie's option for a meal delivery service. Their ingredients are of high quality, clean, full flavor. You'll receive just the right quantity of the ingredients necessary for each recipe, but you have to prepare, which is part of the process of reclaiming your ability. There are great tips and tricks on knife skills or the best way to cut a carrot, and history of different foods, as well as nutritional value. The recipes are innovative, colorful, and divinely scrumptious!

Date night. I got this for two reasons. One being a fun date night that both my hubby and I cook together. Which was such fun. We worked together well, helped eachother and cleaned up each others messes. What a bonding time we had and we hadn't even had dinner yet. Throughout dinner we laughed and talked about how good this, that and another was and how funny certain things were that we did while cooking. It was an sharing time and Second is simply because we wanted to try new recipes that we don't typically use . All CB I can say is soooo good. Loved every piece of food we created.

Simply amazing!. I’ve been using blue apron for some months now and I love everything about this service! The price is reasonable, I can cook the recipes for dinner and pack a portion for lunch at work, ingredients are always high quality, and my cooking skills are improving so much! Plus, if you want to try something fancier, the premium recipes are incredible. The only advice I have is to include more vegetarian recipes, probably most people don’t pack a portion for lunch, but doing so I often end up having a ton of meat during my week.

Do not use Blue Apron!!!!. Blue apron is bad case of athletes’ foot that just won’t go away. No matter how many times you try to cancel their “services” they just keep charging you. How many times can I email them to tell them I DO NOT want their meals. My friend sent me free meals through them when he first started his kits. I thought he had been doing them so o gave them a chance. As soon as I signed up and they required a credit card for free meals I should have turned right the hell around. I plugged in the numbers like an idiot and began browsing the “options” I don’t know who their chef is putting together these cards but honestly peanut butter and jelly would be better then 97% of the options they have. I’ve used multiple meal kits before and honestly most of them are pretty good. Every plate and hello fresh are both fantastic. Please save yourself a lot of head aches and upset stomachs and stay the hell away from Blue apron!

Loved this initially. Started w Plated - awesome. When bought out by Blue apron, quality didn’t seem to measure up. I was ok with it, but three things (after 3+ years) are leading me to unsubscribe: 1) I’ve had two boxes not show up on target date in the last couple months, and I was relying on them for family meal - super annoying to spend the $ and yet still have to make a run to the grocery store. 2) prices went up. 3) no way to indefinitely‘hold’ the account - every few weeks I would have to go in and skip the weeks ahead and inevitably I’d forget and receive a box I didn’t want / plan for. I like to use this maybe once a month but it’s not worth the hassle for me. There is no way to stop the service vis the app so I have to call or email customer service.

Could not live without Blue Apron. We are a typical two working parent couple in Silicon Valley. Fabulous gourmet kitchen, love to cook, and no time to even plan a dinner in. We’ve been customers of Blue Apron for years. We always look forward to both cooking and eating these meals, even on weekends, because they’re so delicious. We have two teenagers with very different taste preferences. So the meals for two are perfect for three of us. The other teen makes his own pasta or burger. If it’s something we all like, I stretch the amount of food by adding more of some ingredients. This is the first meal plan we have tried and we like it so much that we never considered trying another. Yum.

Save your time & money. I’ve used a competitor meal delivery service in the past & loved it, but it started to become a little too pricey for my budget. When I heard Blue Apron was having a promotion for new customers I figured I’d give it a try. I quickly realized I’d made a huge mistake. My first delivery was MIA. The tracking said it was delivered to a different city than what was on my account. When I reached out to customer service they had a generic auto response email which both customer service reps used during my interactions with them. Basically their resolution was to refund me my money with no further action. I was looking forward to the meals & super bummed the situation was handled this way. Needless to say, I cancelled my account before I even received anything from them.

Blue Apron is the Best!!!. So far so good my husband and I have been wanting to try a meal service like Dinnerplate, Martha Steward’s brand, HelloFresh, and Blue Apron of course!!!! We looked at all of them and compared reviews and narrowed it down to two which was Blue Apron and HelloFresh!!! After giving it much thought and the good reviews that Blue Apron had we decided to try it!!! And a look at our first glance all the recipe ingredients were included and all the easy steps of how to cook the recipes that both my husband and I choose were easy to follow and cook!!! I cannot wait to see what’s next delivery weeks food going to taste like!!!

So worth it!. This has been the best fix to wasted food, repetitive food choices, and absence of creativity of flavor. Blue Apron has reignited my love of cooking and saved me so much money! No more buying ingredients I will not use and trying failed recipes. I have enjoyed each meal and referred 4 friends that were in the same bland doldrums of cookery. I will recommend this to anyone. As a single mom, this works great with our busy schedule. I am able to expose my sweet girl to new flavor and make a great meal for date night. Portions are grand. Give it a try. You will not cook any other way. So fresh and so clean clean. Love this apron!!

Long time fan. I have been a subscriber of Blue Apron since it’s inception and I find the value and the quality of the food and the recipes exemplary. I am constantly astounded as how tasty the recipes are and how simple they are to make. And an added bonus is I don’t have to go to the grocery store or figure out what to make this week for something to eat. I am a big fan of Blue Apron of a big supporter of Blue Apron I hope they succeedAnd I hope more people subscribe to them because they’re really fantastic. Plus they have increased their prices since I started subscribing six years ago. What does that tell you?

I am blown away. With the quality of ingredients, packaging, recipes and meal options from blue apron. I never normally write reviews, but our first 2 meals have been so amazing that I had to commend the company on a job well done. The ingredients have all been so fresh, and I was shocked to see that the steak I received was actually farm raised grass fed organic steak!! This is literally the most expensive type of steak you can buy. I figured they would send the cheapest, crappiest type of steak to preserve their margins. But no they send the best. The ingredients are perfectly measured out, the recipes are beautiful and easy to follow. I can’t understand how this company does it all so well. Seriously in love with blue apron....

A fan of many years. Nice portion size. Fewer ingredients and easier prep than when first started. Yea! Enjoy chance to change up our usual fare with these new and flavorful options using items I would never otherwise buy. And there are no leftovers. Yea, again. The web site is very much improved and very useful. Just tonight I was able to copy recipe for our third meal which arrived last week. I mislaid the card; so this was a lifesaver. I also like the way I can mix and match the offerings easily. (Before you had to take or leave what was decided for meat or non- meat.) Prices remain excellent. What’s not to like?

Great app, wish there were videos tho. This is a great app, as a non cooker and someone living in NYC just getting into cooking I wish there was step by step videos on how to cook the meals. In my first meal there was only two videos - one of how to cut the meat and one of how to peel the garlic. Reading the instructions and trying to cook a meal for two at the same time was a little difficult. I was worried about burning food or even causing a fire. I hope this is something you consider adding to the app so we don’t have to keep scrolling and reading, this would allow us to hear and see real quickly if we need to and still be able to watch the stove.

Great meals! Why 1 star?. Are we really just going to ignore the fact that we have to log on once a month and cancel meals so we don’t get charged?!?!? They refuse to put an option to cancel or suspend your subscription, but we can easily and efficiently select our weekly meals which makes this service great. But we pretend that they can’t let us cancel or suspend our subscription on the app?!?!? We have to call customer support and do it over the phone?!?!? I love Blue Apron, but stop letting companies getting away with that B.S! It’s a matter of principle! We all hate having to call the customer service or support and cancel a subscription when we can do so many things over their app but yet they conveniently leave those options off of their app to make it harder for us to cancel or suspend our subscription.

Too much plastic waste and garbage. Pros: food was good, we tried things we would not have otherwise tried. Learned how to cook new things. >>>> Cons: incredible amount of garbage in each shipment. Some things you can place in the recycle bin such as paper and cardboard, but almost all of the plastic, and there is a LOT of plastic bags and containers, it all has to be hand delivered to a certified recycling center. They “say” it is all recyclable, but it’s too much effort to drive all the way out to recycle this stuff, so most people just treat it as garbage for the landfills. It can’t go in the recycling bin. These containers will still exist in a landfill for decades and decades more. Other than that, a lot of the meat bags leaked, they were placed in ziplock bags (more trash) but it was pretty gross, all that raw meat liquid leaking all over the box. >>> better solution to just get recipients and buy food fresh locally.

Needs Improved Rating System. App is constantly changing, usually for the better. However, my recipe rating notes were deleted after an app overhaul a while back and replaced with a very generic and limited form. Additionally, my star ratings hardly ever appear in the app now so I have no idea which recipes I’ve rated and searching for a favorite/saved recipe requires endless scrolling. Working on a better interface to find/organize recipes you enjoyed needs a lot of work. Other than that, the menu ordering process has markedly improved but it changes so often I never allow myself to get comfortable with it. I’ve been with BA since 2016 so I’ve seen the evolution.

BA is the the best yet. I’ve tried 6 different meal delivery services. Some were good, some not great and some were pretty good for the most part. Blue Apron had the best tasting recipes followed by hello fresh then plated. Home chef had the most options and best packaging but the meals were very sub-par. Blue Apron had the freshest ingredients but were not the easiest to discern what recipe they were for. Not a big deal considering it used lest packaging. I’ve only had two weeks of deliveries from Blue Apron and the second week I was sent a completely wrong order. I was disappointed but ended up not minding what I got. They did refund my money for the second week (as long as I sign up again). Overall I’m satisfied with Blue Apron and have recommended it to many of my friends.

Useless For iPad Owners. I would prefer to use an app to display the cooking instructions for what I am preparing. The app that Blue Apron provides is not optimized for iPad screens nor will it display in landscape mode (which is the orientation you would likely want to use if you were cooking with your iPad using its cover stand). If you own an iPad, you are much better off browsing the Blue Apron website on your browser (which looks nicer and is formatted so much better) and skipping this app all together. There is no benefit for having this app on an iPad at all. Also, comparing this to Hello Fresh’s app (a competitor), it really shows the lack of effort Blue Apron has put into this one. Hello Fresh’s app is optimized for iPads, displays in landscape, and even has built-in timers to use while you are cooking. I’m hoping this app improves in the future.

Life saver during times of social distancing!!. I always depended on eating out at restaurants. Blue apron or any other meal kit services have never even crossed my mind until recently. I tried blue apron for the first time last week. So far, I could not be happier with the convenience and value it brings. I save time on grocery shopping and it’s actually way cheaper than eating out! I love the variety of choices and being able to learn how to cook for the first time!! They bring you just enough portion for your meal which means I can learn to shop efficiently when I do choose to go grocery shopping. I think I’ll be sticking with blue apron for the foreseeable future.

Robin. I used to think I hated cooking. What I found out is I enjoy preparing interesting food but hated planning what to cook, finding just the right recipe, making a grocery list, going to the store to find all of the ingredients, loading into the cart, then unloading cart, loading into car, then unloading in the house to finally put groceries away. That’s handling food five times before you start to cook! Love the convenience of having a variety of food delivered to my door. I’m using ingredients I rarely used before and enjoying new spices. The recipes are written so well. The end result makes me feel like a chef!

No PayPal, no Health integration. I absolutely LOVE that Blue Apron added an option to only have meals shipped if you select something. The old option of automatically shipping random meals every week unless I remember to log in and mark the week as skipped, didn't work for me. I would constantly forget, and get charged $60 for food I didn't need. Every meal delivery service should offer this ability to have the default be to ONLY ship when the user selects something. HOWEVER, the app doesn't support this version of the service at all! You have to go to the website to select meals and manage your account if you don't want the automatic shipping method. So the app is completely useless for people that want to take advantage of the better version of the service. That's a massive disappointment! The other two problems are: - Doesn't accept PayPal. I don't want to enter my credit card numbers online. If it doesn't accept PayPal, I don't use it. - Doesn't integrate with the Health app. This is crazy for a food app. If you know the meals I ate, and the nutritional value of those meals, then why can't I transfer this data to the Apple Health app?

Perfectly inspirational!. After tirelessly searching for the right recipes, and the right cookbooks to find the right recipes from, the Blue Apron app has more than successfully enhanced my approach to cooking. The way this app has managed to play a significant role in my life when I needed it to has entirely uplifted my motivation towards cooking as well as my usefulness in the kitchen. For this I am the upmost grateful! Furthermore, this app has inspired me to transform my life. I went from repeating unwanted daily living habits to thriving in my job and personal life because of the opportunity the Blue Apron app gave me to absolutely spice my meal routine up! I completely thank and appreciate the commitment and sophistication dedicated by the people who make this all possible!

Wouldn’t Join During Covid-19 Outbreak. Under normal circumstances, I think these meal plans would be great. But during Covid outbreak, one week our meal was cancelled completely, three meals delivery dates changed, two of those three delivered more than a day late, and my wife and I got food poisoning from one of them. Their customer service is overwhelmed, understandably, and won’t even address my reports or issues. Difficult time to trust a company that can’t reliably get you ingredients that need to stay refrigerated to maintain safety. I would wait until this whole world gets back to normal. Edit: I’m changing my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Honestly their customer service did fully refund any missed meals and the meal that was late by multiple days. And A month into Covid they really got back into a delivery rhythm that I would expect. I’ve tried several food box companies since, and this is the only one I would pay full price for. Meals are healthy, great calorie counts, and the tastiest. Also the instructions are the easiest to follow too. Worth a shot over other competitors.

We Love Wednesday!. I don’t know why I waited so long to try Blue Apron but I love the experience and the app too! I think you should rename your company “Cloud 9”... I feel like I have died and gone to heaven where cooking dinner has turned into a Joy!! We love the tasty food, the convenience, and the flexible selections that are available. The quality of the meats, pasta and dairy products has been top shelf! This new dining experience has been a fantastic find in our busy life and at 50 something I just look so forward to the arrival of Wednesday’s Blue Apron Box. The bonus is that my non-chef, never-in-the-kitchen Husband has decide he likes to cook. Thanks Blue Apron xxooxoxo💋

Terrible service. I’ve been using another meal kit service for a couple of years now but thought I’d explore some of the other options out there so I tried Blue Apron. For my first box, I ordered two meals. When the kits arrived, 11 of the 14 ingredients I needed for one of the recipes were missing from the box. I promptly contacted customer service. It took four days to get a response!! Four! The representative was very nice and said she’d put a credit on my account for future boxes. Considering my experience with my very first box, I wasn’t interested in ordering ever again and asked for a refund. It’s been almost 7 days and no one has responded to me!! This is terrible customer service. I’ll stick with the service I’ve been using. They have always responded in under 24 hours on the very rare occasions I’ve needed to contact them.

Why I love Blue Apron. Getting the box is exciting and I always tear into it like a kid on Christmas before I put the ingredients away. I have learned to enjoy cooking again and since my kids are all grown with families of their own I haven’t really enjoyed cooking for just myself. The two serving meals are perfect for me as I already have my lunch for the next day! I have used ingredients I’ve never heard of and prepared food in new ways like marinating veggies to add to a main dish giving even old classics a new ‘pop’! Try it, you really will like it!

Easy to use app!. I could go on for hours about how good the food is and how it helps us eat healthier with great variety, allowing a very busy family to spend time together and not roaming the grocery store. We’ve been ordering Blue Apron for more than 5 years and while we have tried other meal providers, we always come back to BA. Besides the great food and variety, the app makes it SO easy to select the food we want and change orders when we need to. I can say of all the other meal apps I’ve tried, this one by far is the best and easiest to use. Nice job, designers.

Delivery Unreliable. I love the recipes. The instructions are easy to follow, the food is yummy, and there are a variety of meal options available. I’ve had blue apron for about 2 months now. Almost since the beginning the delivery drivers have not followed the instructions, but I tolerated it. What I really had an issue with is the box was getting left outside my apartment building. I live in an area that is very hot and where there is a lot of foot traffic. Anyone outside can steal the box, or the ingredients in the box could spoil due to extreme high temperatures. Most recently my box just didn’t arrive at all. Too bad the delivery service is unreliable because I like Blue Apron.

Best Meal Kit. As far as meal delivery kits go, Blue Apron is the best I’ve found. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality. The recipes range from “easy to make after work” to “involved,” but all of them have been accessible to me - someone who usually doesn’t cook often. All of the recipes I’ve had were delicious, even ones featuring ingredients I don’t usually like. It’s been great. The app is also ridiculously easy to use. I can manage deliveries and switch out recipes on the fly right up until the date the kit is shipped. I can also plan about a month ahead. So whatever your style is, you plan around it on the app.

10/10. We got our first package and it looked small but the portions are very healthy and fed us well. The recipes are easy to follow and very specific for those who don’t cook a lot and all the ingredients are portioned and labeled. The produce and meat is super fresh and the recipes we choose are usually for dishes that we don’t normally cook so we get an opportunity to eat different foods all the time. The value is there for sure especially if you throw away anything from regular grocery runs. We’re used to cooking for many ppl but for us this works for just a few ppl. Great app. Easy to change menu. Great healthy options. Recommending already.

Useful App, meals not friendly for dairy intolerant. I like the ease of use this app has, everything I need is readily available and I enjoy being able to pick my meals for the week whenever I have a moment in the day as opposed to lugging my laptop out. It's especially nice when I need to skip a week due to work trips or unexpected events. My only issue lies with Blue Apron's "one size fits all" recipes. Many of the meals contain dairy ingredients. My dairy intolerance isn't something I make a big deal of, but it's frustrating when I choose a meal specifically because it has a non-cow cheese option and then that ingredient is swapped out for a cow's milk item after the deadline for changing meals has passed. It's not a common occurrence and I know I can replace the ingredients on my own, but it's sad to waste food because there isn't a way to customize the box beforehand to avoid allergy/intolerance items. Unless there is a way to change it, and I've just been unable to discover it. Thanks for the great app and the great meals.

Love it!. I’m so impressed with everything about Blue A! The food has been straight forward to prepare and I’m even getting my picky eater (he’s 39 and rather set in his ways) to try new things. Just had an amazing roasted pork roast with a spicy maple sauce. I had tried the spoon delivery service and was disappointed. Spoon often was missing items, sent some rather sad vegetables (some of which I had to just toss), and the flavor profile of the meals lacked complexity. Blue’s meals deeply satisfy. The app is a little less easy to use than spoon’s is, but I am here for the food. The app does what it needs to do.

Convenient (Tasty!). I haven’t noticed any major issues with the app! Easy to navigate to “this week” or future weeks to either view or select meals, financial information is easy to change if need be, format and layout is intuitive and attractive… The only thing I wish they had was a way to categorize meals you “save” (like a “folder” for the grilled cheeses we enjoyed, or pasta dishes) and a way to highlight meal options as “you’ve eaten this in the past and rated it highly” or “you have this one saved, it’s an option again this week!” or something to that effect. Overall no huge complaints. It’s pretty well designed.

Horrible service, policies, food. They send wrong, mismatched, and even spoiled ingredients, arrogantly refuse refunds, and ignore complaints. Recently I ordered a premium item for extra money and they sent a cheaper non-premium item instead and refused a refund because I got a “non-empty” box. They apparently think people use them to buy random groceries. I complained and their response was they’d give me only partial credit but I couldn’t use the credit if I canceled my membership. But why would I want to order again if they keep getting the orders wrong? This was the second time this happened. I complained again and was ignored. They also sent slimy smelly spinach once and did nothing about it. The items they do get right are cheap, grossly marked up, and inauthentic. Avoid at all costs.

Life changing. Blue Apron might be one of the greatest things I’ve ever discovered in my life. Every night I cook a new meal, I follow the instructions exactly and when I take the first few bites I think to myself.. “There’s no way I just cooked this” Honestly, almost every meal I cook is better than any meal I’ve had at a restaurant and I live in NYC where there is no shortage of amazing food. Blue Apron meals are perfect In every way and every night it’s like a cooking class where I learn something new that will stick with me forever. I couldn’t be happier, oh yeah. And the app works great too, everything you need nothing you don’t.

Difficult Cancellation Process. I have used Blue Apron for a few months now and it would have given it 4 stars for 3 reasons: variety of meal options, dependability of deliveries, and app design. I have decided to explore other subscription services to compare quality of ingredients, ease of app use, etc. There is no way to cancel your subscription directly from the BlueApron App or website. While skipping meals is simple enough, I would appreciate if there was a simple way to cancel/pause your subscription for customers like me who want to shelf the app and not worry about a surprise delivery. To date, the process requires that you email someone for cancellation instructions which is not the case for other meal services I am exploring.

Love WW Freestyle, but.... Was so excited when Blue Apron teamed up with WW Freestyle! I was already a Blue Apron customer, but had discontinued my membership because I was on the WW Freestyle plan and was finding it difficult to calculate points on the regular meals. Upon learning about the partnership, I got back on board with Blue Apron immediately! I love the ability to choose meals factoring in the number of Smart Points. All ingredients are fresh, and top quality. My ONLY complaint is that I have a family of 4. My kids want and need to eat healthy, as well. I need a WW Freestyle option to feed 4. Blue Apron, can you offer one for your best customer?

Wonderful! Vegetarians beware though.... First off, customer service is always SO great. They are friendly, generous, and quick to respond. The meals are a tad expensive, but I think the learning experience makes up for it. We’ve saved each recipe card, had each member rank the meal, and written notes about what we might change next time. It’s building up into a great recipe book. The ingredients are usually quite transparent and can be duplicated later. My only complaint is that there’s not a lot of plant based meals, and usually only one salmon or tilapia meal a week.

Perfect portions, fresh, healthy!. Delivery arrived just in time for dinner. I recently had foot surgery and can’t stand in the kitchen for too long. Very easy and simple! My 8 yr old daughter prepared the meal with very little help from me. I can totally see how too many people complain about packaging, but if you recycle like I did that should not be a problem at all! All the ingredients are packaged individually for easy execution. However, jasmine rice called for too much water! No big deal though, easy fix. (I was able to correct the amount of water because I suspected it was too much water before hand.😜 My first meal came out as I expected and I was able to feed 5 of us with a 4 portion meal. Thank you!

App is better than the website. Actually, the BA website is fine, but I do more in the APP, and can do more, on the APP. When I want to change up the meals that BA has scheduled, for me, it is easier, on the APP. Everything you need to do and see, is on the APP. It is easy, to contact customer service... Update: I am not changing from my 5 Stars (yet), but often I change my meal selection, it shows updated, then when I get back on the app, later, it is changed back, to what it had been. This has happened fairly often. It just happened again, changed meal selection, last night, this morning it was back to what I had changed it from.

Very much enjoy the Blue Apron meals. I love most of the meals i have received over the past couple months with Blue Apron. Nice quality ingredients and great variety. I had a shipment that had a bag of lentils spilled all over everything which made quite a mess. In addition, some of the ingredients were damaged. One of the previous orders had missing ingredients but i did not notice since i froze the meal for later. I received a $10 credit but think that it should have been more just for the work involved in cleaning up the mess! Also, I realized on Tuesday this week that i would not be home this Saturday but when i went online to cancel on Tuesday it had already been shipped! So now i need to ask a neighbor to get it for me.

Meh.... I was really looking forward to signing up for Blue Apron, but I’m, so far, disappointed. The delivery service is unreliable, we actually did not get to use our second box because it was delivered late and we had to leave town for the weekend, and although we were refunded, it is still discouraging to waste food like that. The recipes, while tasty, are not that inventive; we do quite a bit of cooking on our own and find the recipes to be a little uninspired and high in sodium, fat, and cholesterol content. We also weren’t expecting so much packaging waste. Blue Apron does have good customer service, which is what warned them the additional star. I think this might be a nice thing for someone who doesn’t know much about cooking to try, but it’s not for us.

Enjoy cooking.....broadening our horizons 😁. At this point my only complaint is the Knick Knack bags, I have been receiving Blue Apron for approximately 6 months give or take, love it overall ..........the plastic bottles ALWAYS seem to leak. The screw on lids are almost always loose to the point where some if not most of the ingredient is spilled out ........ don’t get me wrong, customer service has credited our account, but still frustrating....... not looking to create ill will, but trying to get quality control to maybe talk to vendor of such items to maybe add shrink wrap seal to keep lid tight......... just a suggestion from a peon. Can’t give a 5, sorry 🙁 Thanks for the opportunity to suggest Butch

Excellent Company. I live in the farthest, most deserted part of Texas. My librarian husband seeks out quality services, new and fun excursions for the kitchen. This by far, is an excellent company. We’ve been with Blue Apron for 3+ years, 3 meals a week. We’ve been through the WW meals, Teigan meals, the Bob’s Burgers meals, and we cannot get enough! I am able to plan my own meals, with technique.... but why? My Blue Apron will have something new this week!!! I wish every family gets to prepare a Blue Apron meal together!! If I had kids, this would be so ideal. I love the directions and the pictures!! I’ve even bought tools that I’ve seen pictured! Blue Apron, you’ve made my house a home💙.

5 Years of Outstanding Service. I was first introduced to Blue Apron on a first date, we cooked together. It was such a fun and unique experience that I signed up myself! In the past five years of cooking with BA I have never been let down. I’ve been introduced to so many delicious meals some that have become favorites that I cook on my own. I love that the menus incorporate unique foods that I wouldn’t normally buy or cook with on my own. It’s a great way to adventure and try new foods and tastes! I look forward to continue to share the experience with my family and friends.

Great food, shipping to Seattle not so much.. The food is great, the variety is great, not having to think about preparing meals for the week is great. However, they use Ontrac for shipping to Seattle, which is inconsistent to be polite. I’ve had meals held over until the next day and I have shipments show up around 9pm more often than I’d like. The couple times that the carrier has been Fed Ex, the packages arrive mid to late morning and on the day they are supposed to arrive. Not too cool when you’re counting your meal to be there on time for dinner. Anyway, 5 stars for Blue Apron itself, but I have to take one away because of Ontrac’s mediocrity.

App is good... cancelation not so much. The fact you can’t cancel your account from the app is ludicrous. I understand why they make you call, so they can try to talk you into not canceling - like the old CD for a penny clubs. It would also be nice to have a calendar pop up so I could skip out a month or two rather than having to remember to check back every couple of weeks to skip. There should be a setting where I can choose “all weeks are set to skip unless I say I want a delivery” or “all weeks set to delivery unless I say I want to skip” pretty easy to do and wouldn’t make me want to cancel my account. The service is good, and so are the recipes and I have no complaint there, but it gets tiresome and it would be nice to be able to take an extended break without having to periodically revisit.

LOVE Blue Apron. I eat about 10x more vegetables now that I get blue apron deliveries. I’ve been doing Blue Apron for a year now, and couldn’t live without it. The recipes are always delicious, produce is fresh and tasty, super high quality secondary ingredients like yoghurt, cheeses, vinegars, sauces etc. and deliveries are on time and reliable every week. The app and automatic payments function seamlessly. Their spice blends are fantastic, I actually bought their spice blends for using in other dishes. I’ve learned to cook so many new dishes, I’ve lost over 10lbs and my body is so much more nourished than ever before. Thank you Blue Apron, I appreciate you!
