Be Focused - Focus Timer Comments & Reviews 2024

💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Not impressed. For one thing, as I am trying to learn the basic mavigation I am distracted by banner ads and pushes to upgrade. Dude, I am not going to upgrade before I know what the app really does. I consider that to be taking advantage of the impulsivity of adhders. the company knows people with adhd are impulsive shoppers and they want to "get them" while they are buzzing about the novelty of a new app. Trust me on that one. Second, i plugged in one task for last night. It's done and it wont go away now. I hit the only button I see ( top) which says"done" , it erases the task until I switch pages. Come back and the task is still there. At which point I give up. Not interested and don't need the stress

Two problems. I’ve been trying to find an effective pomodoro app that connects to my watch to keep me on task. After giving this one a shot for a day I already had two major issues. The first issue I have is the inconsistency with which my watch tells me my time is up. Sometimes it buzzes to let me know and sometimes it doesn’t. My second major issue is the discrepancy between my phone and my watch. It’s like they’re on two separate timers. I’ll pause it on my watch but it keeps going on my phone which leads to my phone telling me I’m due for a break when really I’m not. I guess I’ll keep looking for an app that meets my needs.

Simple, but has a bug.... I like that this app is easy to use and tracks how many blocks of work you've done. I also love the sounds it features. However, I'm not receiving sound notifications when the time is up. I am getting a banner, but it would be very helpful if I could also receive a sound notification. I did check that my phone would allow sound notifications from the app, and made sure that my phone wasn't on silent. The app did send me a notification the first time, but not after that Otherwise, great app!

Love It. This app combines the effective "pomodoro technique" with helpful customization on an easy-to-use platform. Users can choose the standard 25-minutes-of-work and 5-minutes-of-rest approach, or personalize the sessions and break times to fit their personal needs and goals. A wonderful bonus is the range of alerts available. I have come to rely on the sounds of the "victory" chime telling me I have finished a session and the "train whistle" signaling the end of a break. Frankly, I don't know if I would have finished my current writing project without Be Focused. All in all, this is a great app!

Simple and effective. Not all apps need a million buttons and whistles and this app proves that true. It’s simple, clean, and easy to use. If you’re like me and tend to get up every 5 minutes because whatever, this is a great app to help keep you on track! You can change the work and break times to fit your schedule which I really enjoy. I like to work for 35 minutes and break for 10 instead of the default 25 min work/5 min break. I like that you can also add a label to your “work” so you can keep track of your time spent on multiple projects.

Lacks perfection. I have the paid subscription, and the tool itself is great for pomodoro workers. HOWEVER, you’d think a paid subscription would give you seamless cross device synchronization, and that’s not the case, knowing it lags a bunch. I could start on one device, and the other one won’t catch it unless I am in the app, even if open and functioning within the used apps of the device, which is a huge disadvantage.

Work From Home Help. I work from home and the BeFocused app really helps me get my work done without getting distracted and without taking more time than is necessary for a particular task. I love that the app is customizable. I set different intervals based on my schedule for the day the chronometer for certain tasks, like grading papers, that are easy to spend too much time on. Bonus the frequent breaks keep me from sitting too long and I get a few chores done between work sessions.

Great design and options, but notifications sounds do not work. This app has great design. The tasks features and custom options are useful. However a key component of a timing app such as this is to alert you when your work time and break times are finished and it fails to do that. The notification will pop-up sometimes, but the sound never comes on. I’ve tested this at various time intervals and made sure the volume was at max and it doesn’t work. The sound alert is central to apps like this and it’s unreliable. The Mac app doesn’t seem to have this problem.

Be focused is very good. I love using this app; however, the alarm doesn’t always sound once the time has run out also I don’t know how to adjust the time from 30 minutes to an hour. Some tasks can’t be accomplished in 30 minutes and the timer will just let me set it for 25 minutes then 5 minute break. I’d like to be able to adjust the time for break time too.

Does its job. It’s amazing that the use of a simple timer can keep me focused. On the days when I use this app, I get more done than I thought possible. When I tell myself that I don’t need the app - well, my productivity falls apart. I gave it four stars because I can’t figure out how to delete tasks from the task list when they are done. I also wish there was a feature where the user could estimate the number of “pomadoros” that a task would take and then compare that to the actual number. It would be helpful in calibrating and estimating time for future tasks.

Great focus timer app among similar free apps. I have used this app for about a week or so, it is simple but also practical, so till now I have chosen to use app among several others that I have installed.I like the way you can customize sessions and breaks, sounds, tasks. The one annoying feature for me is lake of dark mode theme on the app, the widget has dark mode but unfortunately the app theme doesn’t change to a dark mode. Look forward for an update and thanks for your efforts to keep it free. Also as a suggestion it would be great if the app has a Lock Screen widget while using it, I mean having some sort of widget as the one in the homepage but on the Lock Screen to show you how much time is left without unlocking the phone. Kind Regards 🙏🏼

Love it after one day of use. So far this app is doing everything I want it to and more. I wanted a timer to help with focus and got that plus a clean representation of where I'm spending my time. Apple watch integration is great too. UPDATE After a couple of days of use, the app started"losing" timers... I ran it for an entire morning (three or four cycles of work) and then it was just... gone. Timers that I started on my watch didn't show on the app on my phone... and so on. I've gone back to using a regular multi-timer app for my pomodoro needs.

A Few Things. Seeing as how this app hasn’t been updated in over a year, I doubt anything will be done about this. It tracks time and tasks well, I like the categorization of tasks feature. My issues lie with the Watch app being hit or miss as to whether you can begin tracking from the app. Sometimes it works, I can literally see the clock ticking away. Then I check it a few minutes later and it has reset as if it was never started in the first place, and no progress is logged for the task even if the allotted time has passed. Which brings me to my second issue... notifications. The app is again unreliable in chiming when time is up. It does this on both the phone and the watch. It makes it difficult to take breaks when time is up, or to know when a break is over and it’s time to begin working again.

Love this technique. It really does something to your approach to studying when you know you only have to work really really hard for short intervals and taking a short break. It makes you want to be more productive in that short time and it makes you appreciate the value of a break without allowing you to become distracted and break too long. I love having the ticker on.

It actually helps!. I didn’t realize how much time I was wasted looking at my phone. With this tool, it allows me to quantify my discipline. I focus when needed then goof around when allowed. I must say, I’m more productive. I also think it’s worth the 5 bucks to support the developers. I like this app and hope they continue to maintain it on both iPhone and Mac.

High quality app!. I’ve used plenty of time management apps and this one is the best one I’ve used so far. Other apps tend to limit it’s use if you didn’t buy the premium but this app works wonders even without buying premium, which is plus for a frugal student like me haha. I love how it shows stats of how many 25 minute intervals I’ve done for certain tasks. 10/10 would recommend to everyone who wants to be focused!

I like it. I really like this app! It’s useful, and is easy to use. I had an issue with something, so I emailed customer service. They responded right away, and were really nice about it. The only thing that I don’t like is the fact that you have to pay for some features, but I suppose that the company needs some way to get money, right? Anyways, this is a good app, I definitely would recommend!

Buggy - options don't work properly. If you just want to use this as a basic 25/15 timer with no extra features, this app will work fine. But the feature that lets you give the items on your task list custom times doesn't work. You can set it to whatever time, but as soon as you hit start, it's going to go for 25 regardless of what you set it to. Also, there's a blank task item you can't get rid of that's just kinda there for no reason. You can't even edit it to use it for one of your tasks. You can edit the time but not the name. The basic timer works, but there are plenty of other pomodoro apps that are just a timer. The point of choosing this one was that it supposedly had some extra features, but they don't work.

My Go-To Pomodoro Timer. It does what I need I to do in typical Pomodoro method. I enjoy using it on my iPad because I like to dedicate the iPad to the time while I work on the computer. I like the buzzer that I always hear because it gets your attention. What I am disappointed in is its lack of ability to disregard tasks and target Pomodoros and just keep it running until I stop it and not care about keeping track of the Pomodoros I did. All things considered, a great, simple, Pomodoro timer that is designed efficiently and provides advanced Pomodoro functions.

Good introduction to the Pomodoro technique. I like this app for the way it has introduced me to this technique and for helping me realize how important it is to take breaks. I also like that both the on-task time and the break time can be varied. I’ve tried a few different intervals to see which blanks work best for me. I guess the only thing I don’t like is that it seems as though the longer I use the free version the more frequently the “buy premium version” ad pops up and interrupts my use of the app. That’s the main reason for four stars instead of five. I can handle of the banner ads but I don’t like it when I am interrupted while trying to use this tool.

I recommend this app 100%. I think that this app is awesome because first of all, you don't need to pay in order to do something in it. You only need to pay if you want to have extra little gadgets but you don't need to. It helps me stay focused all the time and I get my homework done faster and in a more efficient way without getting burn outs. It super easy to customize the time for your break and work time!

Useful and simple. After downloading a few pomodoro apps, I liked this one the best due to it's simplicity, and that it has the features I wanted. It includes an alarm, easy to categorize your "focus" times, and make any adjustments if needed. A lot of other apps were very complex. I wanted something I could learn in the matter of seconds. If your main focus is to spend more deliberate times, why spend too much time learning an app? I am able to categorize my work, study, and free time. I'd recommend to the developers to create a feature where you can enter your own manual time, more of a time management tool. That would make a good addition, making the app a more robust. Even for $1.99, I'd buy it. Especially since I would want to enter my time I'm wasting. I could compare how much I'm spending on productive time vs wasteful times.

Great concept, but needs some minor changes. I’m an engineer, so I like to collect data about myself, whether its my health data or even what I did that day with Life Cycle. Data is knowledge, and knowledge is power, so I’d like for this app to communicate with my Life Cycle app somehow so that I may look back on how long I worked on a project or studied. I think one way to do this would be either through the Health App or the Workouts App’s communication to Life Cycle. Studying is technically a mental workout, so I’d like to see that data shared with Workouts with the workout name being the subject of that task in BeFocused.

Addictive and extremely satisfying creation. I have been using this app for over a year and I can’t put into words the amount of satisfaction it brings me. Everything is just the way I would want and imagine to make if I were to design the app; simple and rather minimalistic (compared to most other apps) but contains all of the features I would need to be completely happy (the last of which was added very recently — deadline button). No clutter and very user friendly. It was very addictive to me; so be careful. I bought the paid version too to be able to synchronize my data and have it in all of my devices. However, the only sad part about this is that (at the moment) I don’t think I will be able to transfer the data I have been collecting for over a year from my unpaid version to my paid version to be able to keep and display it as well. So for now I keep using the unpaid version until I either find a different way of transferring it, or the developer adds a feature like that, or I get enough courage to say “goodbye” to my lovely and diligently collected large data set. Despite remaining an unpaid version used while having the paid version, I have no regrets at all for my purchase and I hope the developer gets many more people discovering his apps and becoming as happy as I am with it/them. THANK YOU!

New suggested features. I just upgraded to Pro and wanted to use its ability of tags and csv exports to analyze how I spent my time. I’m thinking: 1. Is it possible to also add “tag” in the exported csv? 2. Does the app have access to the local time for each task, ie. when it started/ended? This might be more difficult because people can pause the timer, and the start-to-end local time can be confusing. Maybe just recording the start time makes more sense. Just some humble ideas that I thought would improve my own time-analysis, I understand if they’re not that cost-effective. Just wanna say really love this app you guys made:)

Keeps me motivated. I’ve been using this app on and off for a year til recently the last 6 weeks I’ve been very consistent and I love the mini break timers I get to keep from burning out and deflating my brain while I study. Highly recommend for busy moms, business owners, and students to help keep you on track! Also it’s very satisfying to see my productive stats over whatever period set of time I set it to so see my progress.

App works well, only minor issues so far. So far I love the app. Probably one of the better (free) Pomodoro style timers available. There are a few things keeping it from being perfect. For starters, it seems to reset back to 25 minutes every so often which interrupts my workflow. It doesn't tell you when this happens so often I'll check my timer and I'll realize it's at 25 minutes when I should be starting a break soon. This is mildly annoying as it only happens every once in a while and brings it down about half a star in terms of rating. The other issue is that the task list is somewhat unintuitive with the swipe style controls. It'd be great if these options, such as done and delete, were simple buttons outside of the swipe control. Again, this is a minor issue and really only worth half a star in my mind. Keep up the good work!

For self-interrupters. I find it hard to focus and am constantly jumping from one task to another. This simple timer helps me stick to one thing for a pre-determined time. I make a list of all those other things that pop into my head and tend to them later. When I use it for work, I know how many 25 min intervals make a good workday and then I can use that as a goal to have high focus days. It also reinforces brief and longer breaks. I have used it for years and gladly gave my $0.99 for this useful app.

Easy to use. I used another timer before switching to BeFocused which worked for a while and then started having idiosyncrasies. It would stop if I was playing a podcast or answered the phone and then not it wouldn’t start up automatically. It didn’t let me know that it stopped timing. Not only does BeFocused keep time unless I stop it, it asks that I start each timer. I like this because if I’m in the middle of something, the “break” timer doesn’t start until I tell activate it. The free version allows the user to set up their own timer schedule. Also I can run the timer for various different tasks. I did this at first. Now I just run the timer regardless if I’m working on administrative stuff or specific projects. I don’t need to keep that close an eye on my time but can if I want.

Great App!. I use this app on my computer and phone, though mostly on my computer. It’s simple, easy to use and sleek. I like the list feature and the stats. I use the free version but definitely going to upgrade at some point. It has been such a quality tool in keeping me on track with studying and working without distractions.

Helpful and nice. I love this app and it helps me control my life so much better. My productivity increases and I feel more motivated to just keep working instead of checking social media because I feel guilty if I have to pause the timer. This is motivation I haven’t had with just my phone timer. One thing I would like added is if you could customize the amount of time for an interval in each separate task. For example, one task might have one hour intervals while another task may have half hour intervals.

Incredibly Helpful. This app has helped me fight mental fatigue through 12 hour study days and I could not be more thankful! My productivity has skyrocketed! One suggestion: While the tracker for number of work intervals completed resets daily, the short break vs. long break setting does not. (Ex: After my second work session this morning, I was told to take a long break.) If you could make the “long break after” setting reset with each day as well, it would be greatly appreciated!

Love as is, w/ suggestions to bump to 5 star. Love this app, it’s super useful just a few tweaks would turn it to a five star app. 1. Ability to have multiple tasks with different interval times. Currently I have to go to settings to switch the time for different types of tasks. 2. Ability to create a recurring task or to duplicate a previous task would work as well. None of the current pro features are enticing enough to go pro BUT the above features would totally be worth the money. Having said that, I think this app is so incredibly helpful as is and worth using without having to pay for pro.

Strongly recommend, of all Pomodoro apps. I tried about 6 different Pomodoro apps, even paying for a few, and this is by far the best for me! SO user friendly, allows you to do a lot of the stuff you have to pay for with other apps (e.g. create different projects and then the ap keeps track of how many 25 min segments you have spent on each project, charts showing you how you’re using your time). This is a really great app and I may upgrade to pro just to support you all even though the free version is so good. Thanks!

Super helpful for schoolwork. I love this app, I’ve been using it a couple of months and it really helps me get instant gratification for working towards long-term goals. It’s really nice to look back at the end of the day and see how much time I actually managed to take advantage of. I appreciate that it has a streamlined interface and but that I can still sort my focus periods into groups. Also, I know some people mentioned they didn’t like that it couldn’t freeze your phone during focus sessions but for me that’s a benefit - sometimes I need it for hw.

Great reminder to take a break. I love using this app. They say you learn better and can focus more if you break your work into short blocks of time. It’s also not good to sit for too long. This app helps remind me to take a break. I set it to do 20 minute blocks with five minute breaks after each block and a long 15 minute break after four blocks. I get up and move around during each break. It’s easy to loose track of time but this app fixes that issue. I also love that it tracks everything so I’m able to see how productive I’ve been at the end of the day.

One of my fav apps & most used. Love the simplicity of it. The ability to set multiple tasks that are saved and then go into the 25 min timer is awesome. I wish like my phone alarm I could choose to still have the completion of time make a noise/vibrate when done even when my phone is clicked to vibrate mode on the side. Also wish I could change the ticking sound to other sound options that are not as loud without changing my entire phone volume at times but hey this app is awesome and one of my favs to use, thank you for making it!!

Productive!!. I’ve had it for two days and I already see my productivity improving. It’s nice to track my progress and have a to do list. Naturally you can write it down on paper but having it on my phone and being able to check home much time I spend on each assignment is very convenient. And the app is free! :)

Simply effective. When my boyfriend suggested I install this app to get my many tasks completed for building my business, I went along with it. Now I'm addicted because my brain loves to be told to focus for short periods of time. It keeps me on task in such a simple yet effective way. If I didn't have the timer set to one specific task, I would spend hours or all day on one item. That so easily leads to me being overwhelmed and burning out. So, thanks for the simple app and thanks, CB, for the suggestion <3

So helpful. I’ve used this app for years. It is hugely helpful! Helpful for motivating me to do things I don’t want to (only 25 minutes of it!) And helpful for things I don’t want to stop (how long have you been doing that!) I especially share this with students around time management to give them an internal sense of time (reading for 25 minutes a day with a 5 minute celebration is good for everyone). That’s a lot from one small app.

The Unusual yet Traditional method to Study. Pomodoro method was something I heard on social medial by a motivational speaker, 5 years ago I learned about it and thought to myself to try it, this app makes easier for me to use efficiently, I have used throughout high school and still using it in college, this app is actually very effective, you should give it a shout, you may actually benefit from it like I did. Best of luck to every hardworking student & every developer of this app

Best used for Focused Effort. I use this to track my study time. 25m on, 5m breaks. I THINK I’m doing more than I actually am. Also use this to focus on giving undivided attention to work tasks. It’s not looking at a long list of to do’s and thinking how long will this take, it’s the opposite effect. How many thugs can I do well in a focused session? The tracking is a big eye opener. That’s where you see how much time has gone by and how much or little you have accomplished.

Problem on Apple Watch. Really nice app except for one significant flaw: end-of-timer notification on my Apple Watch is unreliable. I want to say that the vibration alert (what Apple calls haptics) starts working as expected after the 3rd or 4th interval, or pomodoro, but I haven’t spent enough time verifying this is consistently true. All I know is that the several days I’ve tried this app the timer expires without an alert on my watch, at least for the first handle of intervals, which defeats the point of using a timer. Will definitely give 5 stars if this issue is resolved.

At least somewhat distracted basically ALL THE TIME. I have ADHD and this app really helps me control it. It allows my brain to see that I only need to focus on whatever I’m doing for a set amount of time and then I can take a break for a set amount of time. Without this app my breaks end up taking longer than my study time, so I basically just take breaks to study and then go back to doing whatever else I’d rather do and am actually able to focus on. It also helps remind me that I can’t procrastinate because I am being timed. Therefore, this app is especially helpful on days when I don’t just have 1 or 2 assignments to get done, but I actually have 4 assignments due that day and 2 I need to do from the day before and then 2 others that I should have gotten done A WHILE ago but I didn’t have the motivation, energy, or focus in order to do so. In conclusion, IF YOU HAVE ADHD THEN YOU SHOULD GET THIS APP. And if you get it, then don’t be like me and USE IT OFTEN. ADHD doesn’t have to define you. It can be a superpower when used correctly. YOU GOT THIS! YOU ARE CAPABLE, SMART, MOTIVATED, FOCUSED, BRAVE, AND CREATIVE! Also if you are like me and have been labeled as “slow” your whole life, then here is an important reminder: YOU ARE NOT SLOW! YOUR BRAIN JUST WORKS DIFFERENTLY. YOU JUST HAVE DIFFERENT SUPER POWERS AND STRENGTHS! The hard part is remembering that and learning how to use and control them in order to be our best selves.

Work flow. It’s been the thing I’ve needed to break my day into manageable chunks. The 25 minutes speed by with a reward. I’ve never been rewarded for working before. I’ve accomplished more in 1 week with this app than almost 1 month before. I like the “pause” option. It keeps me time accountable while allowing me to take important calls.

Does what it is supposed to…. Not much more, nothing less. The advertisements in the free version are not really obtrusive, which in my opinion is great. You just have to understand that this application on its own is not intended to help form habits. This is only a tool. Once you get that, it is pretty handy. One thing I didn’t like is that you need to keep your phone unlocked to get a sound notification when your timer ends. I understand that there are cases when this is preferable, but it would have been useful to have the option to override this behavior. There does not seem to be any option for this in the app itself, and all notifications and background app refresh in my phone’s settings are turned on for this particular app.

Work from home? This app is a Godsend.. This app has helped finally find a flow that works for my work projects. I work from home, primarily, and this has helped me stay focused. I do a 25-minute work session with a 5-minute “reset” break. When I started couple this app with another free project management app called “Trello” my work day not only got more productive but became infinitely more organized. Thank you for this product!!!!!!!! -Ryan

Work from home life saver. This has been super simple but the best tool for me to stay focused and set goals and benchmarks through my day. Love it. Use it every day. My only issue is the timer doesn't always sound at the end of the interval so I have to look at my phone to reset which is what I'm trying to avoid. I keep my phone on not disturb and silent while I'm working. Guess you can't have it both ways.

Sound Doesn’t Work Well. I love the app overall, but if my iPhone is on silent, the end work/end break notifications don’t sound—even if the in-app volume is up. This makes it hard to use the app at all; I work in an office and don’t want all my phone notifications going off while I work, causing not only myself but my coworkers to get distracted. I wouldn’t mind the occasional short timer going off, but it’s all or nothing. I am disappointed because I love the premise of this app but it’s just not practical with the sound issues.

Great Study Hack. I tend to struggle with focusing and end up distracting myself, but my friend introduced me to this app and it's helped me. Generally 99% of the time, seeing how many tomatoes I can get is a good boost to me feeling productive, thus helping me continue to study. The one thing is it takes a while to get a "long break" which is set back. But, still am somewhat new to the app and maybe in the settings you can change the breaks.

Works well. The only pomodoro appp I can find that lets me adjust the volume of the ticking sound so I can mix it with other background music playing at the same time. Wish I could make the ticking louder.

Most useful timer. Great Pomodoro app with clear interface that allows you to label your different activities and customise your intervals and breaks. High recommended.

Overall it does the job. I have had this for a while, it has a simple layout and is relatively easy to use. However, its not very customisable and you can’t set specific timings for each task so you have to go through the settings everytime - it doesn’t take that much time but it can be frustrating

Less burnout. Really helpful for breaking up work so you get get burned out quickly. 🙂 It’s all about the long game

Stay on track. Keep your productivity on track with this app

Great way to manage my time. Simple and easy to use

My Review. Very simple to use and achieves its desired outcome as my quality of study has been increased substantially.

Helpful to concentrate. Any other timer would do the same but it’s a good timer.

App crashing. The app is constantly crashing, as in it works for a bit, but then none of the buttons work, which is quite frustrating.

Good effective app for the pomodoro technique. I have used several similar apps and what I like about this one is that I am able to track my performance and efforts over a day or weekly period. Great feature. Definitely worth a look

Best app for Pomodoro. One caveat, please allow colour change, as I am colour blind for red, so the option to change the colour scheme would be welcome.

Extremely useful for long-term productivity. I've found this app to be extremely useful for helping me (as the name suggests) 'Be Focused' on whatever I'm working on. I really like the way you can adjust the 'working' and 'rest' periods to suit whatever task you're performing and how it then tracks the number of cycles you've done. A great tool, especially for those who wish to be productive with the time they spend on a task.

Keeps me on track. I’m juggling a lot and am easily distracted. Let’s just say it is a huge recipe for disaster. Breaking off my time into project-based work/tasks, plus the timer set for each, makes it much more productive and I manage (somehow) to stay on track. Love it!

BeFocused. I do things in order, so this app is very good for me. And I like the trumpet sound in the settings. That’s why I got this app and thank you 💎🌈

Misleading. With paid desktop version, I downloaded iOS version. Was prepared to pay but Get button made no mention of in-app purchase to access features like sync across (yeah: last paragraph after expanding description). Not transparent, not good practice. Deleting both apps. Bye

Literally makes my day. It’s completely changed my work life and wellbeing at work

Easy to use.. I find it easier to concentrate in stretches of work using this app. Also easy to set longer periods and the project name to track work per project.

Fantastic. Using this or not using this is the difference between my productive and unproductive days. Of all systems I ever tried- this helps most.

It does what it says it does, and does it well.. It does what it says it does, and does it well.

This app saved me!. When writing my thesis, this app was amazing to keep myself on track and also make sure I took breaks while writing. It’s easy to use and so helpful.

Keeps me on track. Great app to keep me focused and on track. Simple to use. Just add to widget on iPhone and it makes time optimisation easy and doable.

Keeps me focussed. This app has been great at making sure I focus and get work done. I put down down or turn off distractions, put on some headphones (just for added quietness) and then press Start. It’s awesome.

Use it everyday. Works great, Saves my sanity.

Great app for studying!. Really helped me improve my productivity! Easy to use, super helpful with pacing and any level of study. Great theory packed into a convenient app! Download it - you'll use it all the time!

Good app, please add watch complication. Probably the best overall app for multi device users , with times syncing across devices live. However, adding a Watch complication to make pausing (when interrupted by colleagues etc) and resuming super quick, would elevate the app.

Decent free version. Decent free version that provides some statistics around personal use over time.

Helping me study despite my horrible ADHD!. Helps me deal procrastination and impatience when studying, flunked out of classes 3 times, now medicated and using this app and now have almost completed my first course ever!

Works well, free version has key features. Great app, the free version has enough key features to be useful. The paid version looks enticing and ill eventually succumb. Good stuff!

Best free iOS app I’ve found for Pomodoro timing. This has made incorporating the pomodoro technique into my workdays painless, recommended

Expectations met. The interface is actually really simple and easy to use. Straight to the point and really helps with procrastinating Thank you👌🏼👌🏼

Really good. It has been really good using this app to see my progress and to see the number of times I’ve done something. As well as it has been really helpful in other ways to

Simple to use and actually motivates. Very simple to add to-do items and hitting the timer button. The fact that it records daily activity motivates you to study to increase your activity. It works well for the Promodoro method I'm using.

Excellent. I feel I have been more productive! So thank you :)

Fabulous tool. I use it all the time to control my screen time while drafting patterns on the computer. If I take a few minutes break every 25 mins my eyes don’t get strained. If I don’t use the timer I will sit for hours without a break. I love how easy it is to set the time blocks and it is so easy to use. I don’t need to track my blocks so the free version is great for me.

Helpful. Super helpful app when studying & keeping free from distraction.

Perfect. Good tool and convient to use to track on how much time we spend for study or work. Strong recommendation ✌🏻

Effective study tool. This app allows for effective timed study and works well for revision. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Great app for studying. Great app. But the notification for a break doesn’t always work while the phone is locked. So I have to keep checking the phone for time or the app for the breaks. Other than it’s really great and really helped me stay focused.

Absolutely amazing. That is the thing that I looked for for years

Meets my need. I just need something that I can set a time interval for both resting time and study time. And this is a simple, easy to use tool that meets my requirements perfectly.

Sync is now working!. The sync credentials and sync is fixed! Now can start using across devices! Thank you!

Simple, but effective. Love this app- does exactly what I need it to do, which is help me focus for short bursts. Every time I use it, I am amazed that I actually CAN focus and get work done! Love the ticking sound you can turn on as that especially helps get me in the right headspace for working. Only downfall for me is making sure I actually turn the timer on, but that’s a much smaller step for me to take than trying to force myself to focus without the app. Highly recommend if you’re a big procrastinator!

Great interface. Easy to use and customise. I love checking my productivity chart at the end of the day.

Very buggy. Timings of new tasks continue to backdate from the present time, so setting future tasks is impossible. Intervals add up even if you delete them. Deleting this app and trying another! Disappointing.

Best I’ve tried. I’ve tried a few different focus apps similar to this one but this seems to be the best out of the free versions. I really like the customisation

Ok but does weird stuff. For instance stopped counting when it demanded that I write this review. Also doesn’t seem to link to Apple Watch

Love it. Really helps me stay on track. I recommend to all my business buddies 🙌

I was sceptical that this would help!. But it did!! I’ve got so much study done just knowing I can break my day up with this!

Love it but unfortunately no access from apple watch complications. This is a very useful app and I love it. Just one issue, Can you please make it accessible from apple watch complications?! That way it will be easier to use and I will change my review to 5 stars.

Sharpening my tools. Great app. Makes up time and saves more time for the things you love love to be doing 😊

Good Enough. I like this app for staying focused. However, while it works well on my desktop, the alarm to signal the end of a work/break interval does not sound on my iPad if I am using another program (despite the timer still running), which defeats the purpose a little.

Wiped All My Data & Doesn’t Notify When the Round Ends. I’ve been using this app for a few years to track my studying. It very inconsistently notifies you when the round is complete (sometimes it will make noise, sometimes it just ends silently) so it’s not a very effective tool for the little it does. However, I kept using it to keep track of the amount of studying I did and just used my phone timer to make sure I knew when a round ended. Today it updated and wiped all my history. I’m a little disappointed because the only thing I was really using it for at this point was accountability for myself and tracking - the tracking and timing features are flawed, which are literally the only reasons for using the app. I won’t be using this anymore.

Great!. Really great to help me manage my homework time!

Good simple to use with additional features if needed. It’s a classic pomodoro app, that is simple enough. If you want more features like naming the tasks, changing the sounds of notifications etc. That’s also possible. But my favorite thing about it is the compatibility with apple watch. *One thing I would add as feature would be a soft reminder like 1 min before the end of break so that I have time to go back my desk when the break is over. Or maybe a reminder to return to work, if I don’t start the timer after the break.

Facile à personnaliser. J’aime pouvoir crée mes propres catégories et avoir des diagramme me montrant mon progrès très chouette

J’adore. J’adore

Extremely Useful. I use BeFocused not just to help me focus, but also to keep track of how I am using my time. It is especially useful in the latter respect.

Useful. It serves for its purpose, easy to use and ads arent that annoying or persistent

Great for studying. Great app, been using for years. One star off because I wish you could sync the amount of pomodoro intervals between devices

Productivity. Nice and it helps me to study more and focus better. It’s helpful for the upcoming semester and exam.

Very helpful. It is very nice and helpful application

Très utile. 👍🏼 l’app fait ce qu’elle dit faire. :)

Good,. I love it

Perfect for what I needed. I use it for taking break in between drawing sessions for avoiding tendinitis

Easy to use & Effective. It’s easy to use. In the settings you can set your work time and rest time to what you want. One thing I wish it let you do was pick a longer rest time. It only goes up to 30min and I like 40min because I work longer intervals. Otherwise great app. It does the job without excessive features that are necessary.

5 start. Usual for students.

Does the job. Like the functionality and I paid the pro version to track different things

Essential app. I use this app on a regular basis. It is an essential productivity tool. Highly recommend!

Best thing ever. I love my life

Love this app. This is the best Pomodoro app I have used. Better than the one I paid for. The free version has all the features I need. Keeps me productive!!

Great. Great

Fantastic!. Great app. Consistently get more done with this app.

So far so good!. Ça fait la job pour l’instant! Nouvel utilisateur, trop tôt pour en dire plus.

Hesitant but it works!. I wasn’t sure how this was going to help me manage tasking, but it has! Maybe it’s like Pavlov’s dog and I’m just conditioned to the beeps, but who cares?! The productivity is real!

App works great but. It would’ve been 5 stars if not for the amount of data they collect from users.

Great tool to manage my time. Great tool to manage my daily work and life.

BeFocused. Great app- simple to use for any purpose.

Best app. It's so helpful for me to keep things in order

Helps me stay focused so much!. I love this app. When I learned about the Pomodoro Technique in my behavioural psychology course I downloaded the app and have been using it for years since. It helped me study when I was a student. It helps me get a ton of cleaning done, it helps so much to keep me on task!

Good app. I’ve been trying several Pomodoro apps in the last months and this is one of the best.

Love it. This app is amazing

Super useful. Very good reminder for me to pace my work

Amazing app. Keeps me very focused. No ads so that’s a plus point. I can set my own times for study and breaks! Very well done app.

Very good. Good application for study and is good for all student to be focus and happy during study

Best I found. Simple and efficient, love it.

Outils utile pour suivre mes objectifs. Compagnon quotidien de l’exécution de mes tâches récurrentes.

Works well. Will review again after some use

"Perfect for my needs". This app has helped me get a lot of work done, in the short period of time… It's easy to use and convenient… I'm able to work on several projects at once, making significant headway on each, Was easy sticking to my custom schedule. I really like this app, nice work.

Great !. Organized and fluid. Helpful for doing assignments and studying.

Purchasable! Yay! Doesn’t sync w watch. I bought the full app, excited there’s purchasable, not subscription, apps! But disappointed it doesn’t sync with my watch or have complications, even though there’s a watch app :(

SofiiDraws. Nice app!

Suits my needs. I like the ticking or the option to remove it. Also like you can choose to leave your screen on. Also like that the time frame can be modified. I like bursts of 15 minutes…

Solid app. All around solid application but it does need a dark mode. If it has one it needs to be more accessible. Other than that one critique I really do love the app.

No complaints. Does just and everything I need.

Great app. It’s an app that helps you, while respecting your own pace

It’s easy to use!. I like it, although I wished it had more colourful options and graphs.

Good product. Simple and uncomplicated. No paid feature requirement. Just focus!

TonyDrake2. Good for concentation and planning work

Upgrade. The app is cool and helps a lot but it will be better that it starts automatically at a given time that will ease revision

Best. Best tomato clock on iOS

Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. Simple. It gets the job done and worth using if you use the pomodoro technique. One issue: if you’re not on the app or listening to music you can’t hear the bell ring which is frustrating because then you don’t know hat your break is over. - also the notification is quite short and there is no option to have it run continuously until you tell it to stop.

Fantastic app!. I love how easy this app is to use. It integrates with my task management app and is really nice. I wish there were more personalization options as well as the ability to integrate with Apple Music or something along the lines for some background noise, but it’s still good for what it does!

Let me delete intervals! And select each individual day to see more stats would be nice.. Update: Used again and nice while it worked. Completely stopped alerting me at ends of time intervals. No sound, no alert. Tried restarting my phone, the app, redownloaded, nothing helped. Pretty useless if I have to keep looking at the phone to check if I’m actually in a break mode or if I missed one completely. ———— I fell asleep studying while using this and woke up with false stats-- multiple rounds of studying that I didn't really do! I love tracking my time and it just bugs me that I have hours of "studying" that shouldn't be logged. Also, i hope this comes out with a way to view stats daily-- not just by the week. Otherwise, I love this app and it keeps me on track while I'm studying I grad school. The layout is very aesthetically pleasing and the alarm options are just adorable!

Wonderful app. I use Be Focused every day -- for study, prayer, reading, writing, etc. It's especially useful when I feel as though I don't have time for something important. I can always take 15 or 20 minutes out of my day for something, and Be Focused helps me to do just that. I love this app.

ADHD life saver.. I found myself in a place where I was unproductive. As a self employed person, this meant it was affecting my bank account. I was desperate for anything. When I discovered I could turn on the ticking. OMG. It keeps m focused and reminds me to take breaks when I'm too engrossed.

Helps me focus while I work from home!. I’m currently in training for my job and it can be very hard to focus while reviewing a lot of different videos and materials! This app has helped my focus immensely and I am able to get a lot of work done throughout the day because of it!

Love the app, wish it would get one new feature.... I use this app on my Mac quite a bit and just installed it on my iPad. I find the Pomodoro method to be effective for me (if I remember to use it, ha!) so this app has been hugely beneficial for me. I wish the app would get updated so that I can use the flyover mode in iPad os so I can easily swipe and see the progress on my timer. My two cents!

New user with ADHD - enjoying so far. I’m a new Family Medicine resident physician and this app was recommended by one of my faculty. Today is only my second day using it, but yesterday it helped me get started on and finish some paperwork that I’ve been putting off for weeks. Still learning how to use it best, but overall I like the concept and simplicity. I’m hopeful!

Best app out there. This is one of the best apps anyone could ever use bc you can set a timer for how ever long and do your homework and not be distracted and then have how ever long of a break and then you also get a longer break after 4 times of doing your homework

Helpful.. This app has helped me be more focused and productive when it come to school work. I have gotten more done when I use this app then any other app I have tried. I definitely do recommend this app to anyone who is looking for a app that helps them stay focused and motivated to do things.

Amazing. I have been using this app for years and motivated me throughout my higher-Ed careers. Also, this app helped me to stay on top of my work but healthily; instead of reading and writing for hours and get overwhelmed, I completed my tasks and feel not so stressed. Also, by looking at the stats, it made me feel motivated and optimistic.

Does exactly what it needs to. I utilize this timer to keep my severe ADHD brain from wasting time or getting hyper-focused. It has been enlightening to see how much time I am spending on things. The timer is crazy easy to use, I just poke the button, and however long later, it lets me know to take a break. Super straightforward.

5 star for Be Focused. It is an amazing app I love the 25 minute entervals and the 5 minute rest time it really helps get work done. Also you don’t feel like your working that long and you can do 25 minutes then 5 minutes or you can keep doing that alought or just one time.

Need PRO versions on all platforms to sync. Firstly, the app requires you to create an account on their servers to sync. In today’s world of iCloud this is unnecessary and is only there so the developer can harvest more data. Their terms of service even make this clear. Second, the description for this free app says you need the pro version of the desktop app to sync when you actually need the Pro version of all the platforms to sync. This is deceptive.

Solid Pomodoro app. Easy to use and straight forward. I would give 5 stars, but sometimes when the work interval ends, I don’t get a vibration when my phone is on silent. I really need this due to working around other people so I don’t disturb them with notification sounds from my phone. Other than that, this helps me to focus and produce.

Focus focus focus. This app has really increased my productivity. You do have to be willing to follow the app and use it. Be in a productive mind and let the timer be a guide. During those breaks I do something completely different than reading and studying, I color. I can set my pace for the day and know that whatever I get done during my time blocks is an accomplishment.

The title is accurate!. I’m able to put a start and ending on 25-30 minutes of work, then give myself a 5 minute break to move around. It’s amazing what’s done in both those instances! I’ve been super productive lately with this app.

Boost focus and productivity!. This app is my go-to when I need to get things done. I work hard and focus for 25 minutes and the 5 minute breaks are long enough to enjoy but short enough to keep me on track. As a working college student who’s also a mom, I needed something like this to make the highest and best use of my time.

John G. I don’t write reviews much but they kept asking and i do use this app a lot, but yes very useful can’t complain about anything, been using this for maybe about 2-5 years now, you could use you phone really but i like this because it stores your time and you can make labels for different timers

More effective. Working with pomodoro cycles definitely increases my productivity and keeps me focused. Moreover, it helps me to make daily or weekly plans by thinking about in how many cycles i can finish a work. I also love to check my past statistics on similar tasks or similar time of the year to have more realistic long term plans.

time management. This app has helped with time management so much especially through this quarantine. I have been packed on with work including essays and test and I can never seem to get off my phone this is a amazing app really helps me from snacking all day and be on my phone. Thank you so much for making this app available!

really great, trouble with alarms/notifications. i really like this app and will continue to use it/make it work for me! obsessed with custom times, setting when you want the long break, how long to set every timer etc. the stats seem really helpful too, but it’s not for me. i have only had trouble with making the alarms / notifications work. it goes off sometimes, other times it doesn’t. i get the notifications on my apple watch which is good but i really wish i could hear the sound (especially because i can choose cute tones from their library!)

Has some improvements but good. Pretty good but sometimes it doesn’t ring the alarm or it can be difficult to navigate which cycle of work you are on. I want to change which one I’m on or if I don’t want to take a long break then that’s hard. I also don’t necessarily want to work for 5 cycles, I might want to work for more.

Still Using This App. I started using BeFocused while I’m high school to stay on top of homework. I now have gone back to helping me manage tasks at my marketing job and my side gig. I love setting myself a time of when tasks can be completed and I only work 15-20 intervals a day. I’ve regained some me time and am able to stay on task!

So helpful. When I want to zone out and just focus on studying this is the perfect app to use as it gives you a great balance of rest time and study time or if you want you can customize the setting. I found it great for time management and getting things done. Overall I found this app amazing!

Critical error wrecks an perfect build. This app has the potential to really help me minimize becoming burnt out from not taking breaks. The first day I used it the was excellent, but when I went to the library Monday after class it all went back to the way it was. I started up my new study partner, but when I picked up my phone to see that if been there for almost an hour. Where were my helpful *dings*!? Who knows. Could be that I listen to music, or that my phone was on silent. Could be that My phone is programmed for do not disturb mode M-F 9:30-6:30 to prevent distractions...

Great App. I have ADD and this was the one thing that really made a difference, it helped me keep track of the time I was studying, plan my breaks and keep me off my phone. I never write reviews on anything but I had to for this app because I’ve been at least twice as productive while using it.

Focus!. I downloaded this app after a good friend mentioned she uses it. I enjoy it because it keeps me from being too scattered during my work day. Since I started using it I noticed how easily I am distracted while trying to complete a task. This now helps me stay on task, prioritize & actually be more productive while make less errors as it keeps me focused on one thing at a time.

helps keep me focused. this app has been very helpful to keep me focused for a certain amount of time while also giving me a good break so that I stay engaged in whatever I'm doing and get stuff done. Definitely recommend if you have trouble focusing.

Flawless. I love this app! I should use it more, but I mainly use it when I get off track. When I find myself wasting too much time doing other things that I shouldn't be doing during the day. I just open up Pomodoro and away I go! Back on track!!

This app makes me SO PRODUCTIVE. Best focus app ive ever tried hands down however the fun sound effects to signal when you are done with ur work or your study break is up don’t work I tried it on multiple devices and checked my sound settings and they don’t work :( otherwise no complaints this app is super helpful and defs recommend

Good structure but annoying persistent ads. I really like this app. It helps structure time and break down tasks and goals. Unfortunately, I’ll probably have to delete it as video ads have begun to pop up very frequently (9 times in one minute). I understand ads in free content but this is excessive. Additionally, full screen video ads that pop up during the work times is counter productive. Please fix this as this is the best pomodoro app I have found but The ads are too disruptive.

Yes!!!!!. I am sooo happy that I finally found an app where you can change the study and break time durations without having to upgrade!! I like the app’s interface design and I like that you can choose whether you want to hear the ticking for each second/minute or not. Overall I’m really grateful for this app and I definitely recommend!

It Works!. Aside from fairly relentless nagging to upgrade to the paid version, I have no complaints about this app. The interface is clean and simple, and the free version is adjustable enough to suit my needs. It definitely keeps me more focused and has boosted my productivity. My practice is to upgrade apps that work for me anyway, because I believe developers deserve to be paid, so less nagging while I'm deciding would be appreciated.

Be focused. This app can really increase the efficiency of your study if used properly, for example if your target is to study for 6 hrs daily don’t do it in one chunk, instead divide it to 30 minute chunks and take 5 minutes break after each session. This way instead of 6hrs you would have studied 5 and half hours but with 80% extra efficiency.

Good Pomodoro Technique Timer. The free version allows up to 10 tasks. I might end up getting the paid version if I need to go over. - easy to use. - not a huge fan of the colors. I’d prefer a little more contrast or possibly the ability to change color themes. - recommend if you are getting into the Pomodoro Technique

Excellent self-discipline / accountability tool!. I'm in law school, so I have a lot of assignments and many of them are long. It can be hard to stay focused or to become discouraged at having been at a task for what feels like forever and only 20 pages in. This app provides perspective and short breaks to get my second wind. I find it very useful and the format is intuitive.

I'm in love with this app. For a long time, I have been wanting to get some things done but it is just so hard. This app's time cycles have allowed me to get more done in two days than I have had in two weeks. And my motivation just keeps improving the more I get accomplished. I seriously love this app.

Great but could use some tweaks. I don’t know if this is available on the paid version, but it would be awesome if you could have different times for each task or project. They all have to be the same time and it’s a little annoying sometimes. Overall though great app, very helpful.

It’s pretty good. I used this app through my college years. It’s pretty good overall. Some times you can’t hear the timers during certain focus modes. Over all would recommend this to anyone needing some structure during deep work.

This app made finals soo much more productive. I love this app! It's simple, easy to use, and very effective. You can program how long you want to study, how long you want your short breaks to be, and how long you want your long breaks to be. It's very great and still runs when you lock your phone, which helps with battery life! I recommend this app!

Great simple app. Even using the app very casually, it can help you control procrastination and improve focus. I never thought this technique could work for me, but it does, even when used in the most basic, simple way.

Thank you.. I use the free version and have a wireless headset on while I work so I can pace with the ticking off of seconds. My mind follows that rhythm and that helps me focus so easily. I have ADHD and have used Vyvanse successfully since 2010. BeFocused was recommended in an ADHD blog and this app improves my focus thus productivity whether or not I take Vyvanse when I am studying. Easy to use.

Where’s the Apple Watch complication? ⌚️. Love this app for both iPhone and Mac! The syncing between devices and custom timer settings are perfect. But as a TIMER, am shocked at the lack of attention given to the Watch app. I was expecting this app to have a countdown visible for your Apple Watch home screen. That’s the only thing that’s really missing — but since it’s a time-based app, it’s important.⌚️ With a Watch complication, this app would be five stars.

Great app!. I love how everything is customizable. It’s really helped me with my practicing and breaking tasks down into manageable chunks. The knowledge that my working chunks are fairly short and that I’ve given myself permission to take a full break really does keep me focused. The free version is also totally useable, no intrusive ads!

helps me focus. I’m very scatterbrained, and big projects/projects with lots of steps usually find me procrastinating, distracted, or just up against a wall. This app helps me focus! I feel more productive and I *am* more productive in the things I need and want to do. I wish I’d had this tool in college and graduate school.

Bad notification. Maybe I have my settings set up incorrectly but... I hardly ever hear the timer go off or sometimes won’t be notified when an interval is done. Extremely annoying when trying to figure how long I was actually studying for etc. almost always have to keep my phone on next to me to see the clock which then makes get distracted still because I’ll see other notifications popping up

I love this app!!!. This app is amazing. I’m a college student who struggles with staying on task or focusing on one assignment. I recently started using this app and it’s amazing. I enjoy going against the clock to see how much I can complete within 25 minutes and then I use the 5 minute break to scan social media or go grab a snack :) .

Good app for stydying. I use this app to study and clean up. It works great and is almost completely free. The only thing to purchase is the pro version which it only asks you if you want to buy every once in a while. There are no ads, and you can choose how loud the alarm is. I also like how you can choose how long to work for. All in all a great app.

love it !. I use this app so much. it helps me finish homework, cleaning, and any other dreaded tasks. i love it also, being an artist, i can see how much time i spent on a single piece by looking at my weekly stats and specific tasks. i do wish i could change the color palette, but that is very minor! thank u for this app!
