Not as easy to navigate as it should be. No way to branch off to movies or shows that’s are similar to what you just watched or direct by a particular cast member. Also far less options as far as movies than I thought it would have. Has the potential to be great but not worth it now.

It works really well for me. It never buffers and the content looks high quality . I have fast internet so idk if that plays a big role. Great app
Love HBO so it’s sad that I have to write anything negative. It seems that if you use a fire stick on your TV and automatically paying your subscription fee via iTunes that the app gets confused. Although I don’t log out, I need to login in via my phone or computer to enter a code and THEN I can log back in via my fire stick and watch HBO on my TV. Can’t seem to watch Bill Maher via the app although I don’t have an issue with any other show or movie. In addition to addressing these issues, it would be great to have a better search feature, maybe something along the lines of Netflix....
I canceled this subscription and turned it off months ago... why am I still getting charged for it?!?!! What!!!! Seriously!!

When i got this app it said start your free trial and the word FREE!! When i click start your free trial i have to play? What do you mean start you free trial this app is not a useful app
I have had hbonow for a while now and when I downloaded the iPhone app, I sign in to my amazon and it goes through asking you to accept the terms then says it can’t link the account. I have double checked my account status on amazon and it works but this app just doesn’t... very disappointing
This app has issue after issue. Where to begin? The Watchlist is a joke that doesn’t allow you to choose a season or resume from where you left off with a show or movie on your list. You have to search for what you were watching to continue watching it. The “continue watching” at the top of the home screen gets stuck on a title you already finished and did so months ago. It doesn’t keep track of what you’ve watched, which gets very tricky with series’ episodes. Subtitles have numerous errors. If you try to resume an episode, it regularly starts it from the beginning and you’re playing “guess where we left off”. Very disappointing considering it is an app you pay to use. Please make improvements HBO.
Cancelled my service in November and was still charged in December. Called their support and not only can they not refund my money, they can't even confirm my subscription is cancelled. For all I know I'll be paying $15 a month forever for a subscription I do not want with absolutely no recourse.
Not sure why it took 1.5 months to get rid of the white bar that would never fade, but now that it’s fixed, the app is awesome again.
Never remembers where you stopped watching and often goes back to the very beginning so you have to fast forward thru every episode, absolutely brutal. Should also allow user to skip intro every time. Takes forever to load (usually 2 or 3 minutes minimum, sometimes much longer) even with a good iPhone and strong WiFi, and freezes fairly often. If this wasn’t the only place to watch GOT then there’s no way I’d use this app if I had other choices.
Recently suggested iPhone X support and the dev team added it within a few days of my review.
This barely suffices haha. When you scroll, there’s a noticeable gap between the bottom of the visible content and the Home bar. so it looks super awful. I think the top part is a black background, so it’s hard to tell if it really blends into the “ears” at the top. Much disappoint.
Even with 4 full bars of connectivity, this app’s interface is very clunky at best. HBO itself makes great series and has some of the best movies, but their app is incredibly difficult to use.
I was charged from day one there was no trial month! I notice HBO support never chimes in to correct this problem for anyone. I would have kept them after the month if it actually worked properly, now I will file a complain but also cancel. The 1 time $14.99 will be all they steal from me.
This review is more about the need for support of the iPhone X than it is about the app. I have no issues running the app on either my iPhone X or Apple TV however, it is annoying that after the iPhone X has been out for over a month, the app still doesn’t have full support for the phone. Watching video on the great screen of the iPhone X is annoying because the video is smaller than even an iPhone 8! How is it that Netflix, Hulu and YouTube all released updates on day one and this premium content provider has yet to do so a month later (not to mention this is the most expensive of the monthly subscriptions) This app could’ve gotten a 5 star review if they had supported the iPhone X in a decent amount of time.
