Every time I open the app it keeps freezing or closing. I’m not even able to sign into my account.
For some reason the movie Fantastic Beasts is streaming so dark in my Kindle Fire HD that I can’t see a lot of it. Is there some kind of adjustment I need to make? I installed and reinstalled the app but no joy.
There is literally no way to sign people out of your account if you’ve ever signed into their device. There is zero support for kicking people off of your subscription that should no longer have access to your HBO Now account. HBO wants you to share your account with as many people possible and doesn’t care about how many people are getting HBO for free and not paying. Until they add a feature to sign out all devices, I’m adding as many people to my account as possible. Changing your password doesn’t work, and I’m not abandoning my email address to setup a new account under a new email. This is a basic feature that so many apps have. It’s mind boggling that they don’t have this feature for user security reasons even!
Not sure what’s going on but it keeps saying ‘Account already linked’ when I go to the sign in option. Bug?
I canceled my HBO subscription within the timeframe but was still charged $14.99. Seems impossible to find anyone to dispute the charge.
I expected a lot more from HBO. App is glitchy, often quitting when moving around the UI. Buffering often, when all my other apps like Hulu, Netflix work smoothly, and I have a very fast connection. Also, why are shows delayed? Real Time, John Oliver etc are delayed hours. Why? Just today, Saturday 8/19 Real Time episode from last night still isn't available, and what shows in the app is an incomplete version starting halfway through. And why, oh why, is something as simple as a ‘season pass’ not enabled? It’s 2017; most other streaming apps let you set a favorite series and tracks your episodes watched, even partial episodes. The developers need to look at Hulu or Netflix as examples of how to write a proper streaming app. Very poor, and damaging to HBO's reputation. Solution: what works for me is to trash this awful app. And subscribe to HBO via Hulu. That way, all my gripes about the watch list, smooth performance are solved as you’re now within the vastly superior Hulu UI. Same money, much better experience.
What shame that they are such a huge industry, they charge as much as they do for subscription fees, and they still can't even make a halfway decent app so that we can view the movies and shows that they spend all of that money on. There's no way to make a list of the shows/movies your currently watching - you can only add certain episodes to your watchlist. No way to favorite or make any lists so that you can find what you were watching when you come back to it at a later time. No personalized suggested or easy way to find anything at all, really. Doesn't work well when using multiple devices to stream. All-around bad design. Clearly a very basic design with no actual thought put into it.
This is the worst app I have ever had. But at your own risk.
Shows will freeze up mid episode. I can't believe people are expected to pay $16 on top of wifi/data costs for this.
It is very disappointing that streaming services are not supported in the Republic of Korea, South Korea.
I tried getting it to play video 5-7 times and not one time was it working, it's a very unreliable and way over priced app
Not even through my free trial and I cant get through one session without it crashing. Happens on all of my devices.
Had MAJOR playability issues in August on both web interface on my Mac and my iPad. The "official" troubleshooting page said to delete and reinstall the iPad app. Deleting went just fine. Have been unable to re-download the app for a month - the progress circle s l o w l yyyy fills, then nothing for a few minutes, then I get an error message (twice!) that the app "can't be downloaded right now – try again later." Meanwhile, the web interface on my Mac has become unwatchable due to constantly buffering and regular "plug-in crash" problems. Have tried all four different browsers on my machine – no improvement. Consensus seems to be that it's a problem with using the [outdated] Flash technology. Most galling, the helpline lead you through a multi step menu and then loops back to directions to go to the [useless, uninformative, incomplete] online troubleshooting help. Don't. Waste. Your. Money
As expensive as this app is, it should perform extremely well but the movies, shows constantly pause and stall. It is not worth the money at all for the monthly price charged.

Jessica Gomez September 17th, 2017 I have had the worst experience with this company!!! Which surprised me because I had HBO under my cable provider and never an issue. Customer satisfaction is a priority ! I had an issue and emailed hbo received a generic "someone is working on your ticket" I call HBO to expedite it and spoke with a live rep who was rude and refused to help and advised me that someone was working on my "ticket" two weeks later all I have is numerous emails that state "working on it " I've requested supivisor to call me and still send a email "what's your contact number " umm I should of stated "on my ticket" so disappointed !!!!!' All I know is I hope none of you ever have an issue because I will get the run around!!!!!
I expected better from HBO. The most frustrating part is that there is not a "recently added" so you literally have to look through every movie again to see what's new. Not how I want to spend my time, or trying to remember if it was there last time. At least other streaming apps can show me what's new or recently added so I'm not wasting time. Canceling this month.
I watched the last 3 seasons using the app and never had any issues with streaming any shows. This app made it easier to drop cable.
I live HBO and how you can literally watch it on the go but the reception is awful. Most of the time it restarts from the beginning if it plays at all. It's streaming isn't great but the shows are awesome.
I reset the password to my HBONow account because my account info was circulated by one of my family members. When I reset the password, the app didn't do anything. It still allowed whomever had access to my account to use it. It never stopped working. This is awful. Your app should be able to recognize the account password reset. Once the app notices, it should required anyone who had access to the account for the new password. I was forced to cancel my account. But I don't know if that will work either?? So once my account cancels on the 20th, will the apps know this?? PLEASE FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY. IM TIRED OF PAYING FOE MY ACCOUNT SO EVERYONE CAN WATCH FOE FREE. Thanks
