Not playing mp3 (edited). I’m trying to play music on my home mini but when I try to get mp3 from Dropbox it says it’s not supported. I went to the link in the desc and mp3 is supported EDIT: Uploaded mp3 to google drive and everything works. Very good quality, but still pulling off a star for the fact I had to transfer to drive. 😐

Not working on Apple TV 4K. Enjoy using this app on other devices but it doesn’t open/crashes on launch using Apple TV. Would gladly buy the pro Version if it was working.

Smh. When I first downloaded this app, it crashed on startup, making it unusable. Now it actually opens, but it can't find a single device to connect to. Do you even test your app before submitting it? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Worth a Try. Don't be discouraged by the other reviews. Don't be discouraged by the other low reviews. It really depends on how you are using it. I love this app and I think it's worth trying if you have a lot of local content on your device like personal videos, photos or movies that you want to cast. I've been using it a lot and have been sharing it with friends and colleagues.

Better than nothing? Maybe. This app will cast exactly one song. It will do continous play within an album or artist, nor will it shuffle at all, even though it boasts that function. Casting one song is better than no songs, because apple and chromecast hate each other, but I can't figure out why this app does the hard part (cast), but can't do what is presumably the easy part, play two songs in a row. I use the app to hear the one song I have a hankering for, then give up. Looking forward to an improvement or alternative.

Doesn’t work. I bought it with the intent to cast shows and movies from my google drive and desktop onto my tv and it can’t even do that. It just makes the screen go black for like a second then shows the cast logo

Not good for movies. Tried playing a movie out of my personal library and either it paused or crashed every few minutes. After restarting the movie multiple times and getting frustrated I just downloaded another app that worked a million times better; and the other app had 10x faster optimization of the video. Not being able to modify your queue is not good

Great idea for an app. This really is a great idea, and it does work well. Unfortunately, it has some bugs. I hope these bugs will be fixed in a future version. Specifically, the ability to fast forward / rewind (video scrubbing). I did not test this with all videos, but his feature did not work when I played videos from my google drive.

Please help. I love this app but when I log in to my google drive none of my shared videos or pictures of anything pop up it just says loading please fix this problem

Works with drive video, scrubbing is broken. 5 stars for being the first app I can find to cast Google Drive video. However it's not perfect: video scrubbing doesn't work at all, and I usually have to restart the app after each video. Still worth it imo

So broken. This app is so broken - don’t bother buying it. So slow, plays wrong files, plays the same file over and over when you’re selecting different files. Really a shame that a $5 app is so underdeveloped.

Works where other similar apps did not. Performs the basic function I was looking for of chomecasting my iphone resident music files (albums) end to end without locking up. Interface is ok but not great. Little slow on the track to track buffer but not that big an issue for the music genre I listen to. Only exception to not being ok I’ve encountered is that the app does consistently lock up when the auto lock display is on. Otherwise it’s the first app I’ve tried for chromecasting iPhone Apple Music that consistently works

screen mirroring does not work. Agree with the other reviews attesting to the screen mirroring not working. Since the main reason I bought the app was to stream streaming services onto Chromecast, the app is useless to me. My guess is the streaming feature may’ve worked in the past but a Chromecast or iOS update broke it.

PERFECT. I have always wanted to cast my videos from Google Drive directly to Chromecast on IOS. This app has made it possible, flawlessyly, for FREE. I will be forever grateful to the developer(s).

Apple TV not showing. Pretty good but Apple TV is not showing up under devices after many attempts. Would be 5 stars and a purchase if it was working like advertised

Does not cast Dropbox. After paying for this app I discovered that it will not cast photos from Dropbox. It can open Dropbox and access the photos but will not cast them. The error message is “file type not supported” even though many of the photos are .jpg. I am using it on my apple 10 iPhone and my up to date apple iPads. The app has not been updated in 11 months even though apple has made several os changes in that period of time.

Paid still charging money doesent work. I paid version didnt cast from google drive. Dev response : next version Fixed.. I waited. Next version still no gdrive support. And now it’s charging me money again. Wasted money!! Apple please remove this garbage from the appstore.

Nope, still won't connect after latest update!!. Under the tab "DNLA/Upnp" your app used to connect fine to my "WDMyCloud" drive it used to work great until you redesigned the look awhile back and broke something. Now under "DNLA/Upnp" it still sees my WDMyCloud drive and it shows icons of content including all the photos, videos & music on my drive. BUT it will NOT play anything anymore. When a video or music or photo there is clicked now it says "NOT connected, touch the amber button in the lower right to connect." So then I do that and it just forever reads "Scanning network for devices...". It stays stuck there forever & thus is not working now. It used to work fine & was great until the latest recent updates, (thank goodness your Apple TV app still works). The new iPhone app design looks very nice but since it broke the app from playing anything that it still sees and shows on my drive but will not play any of it then what's the point of having it if it shows the contents but won't play any of it anymore now. (Maybe go back to the simpler design at least it worked then.) Please fix ASAP and then I will reconsider the review, thanks.

It launches next video on its own. While playing a video, if i bring the app to foreground, the app automatically stops the current video and starts the next video in my local nas drive folder. It should not start any video without user action. Otherwise good. Thanks.

Does not want to cast videos or music from my dropbox. I have this app and I connected to my Dropbox and I clicked on when the MP4 videos it’s Says file type not supported on the MP4 videos and the MP3 music‘s this app is really bad app do not get this app it’s a really crappy app get like a better one and do not get any of the Apps that you need to buy that can support dropbox and do not get allcast because it only gives you a watching time limit for each video

I like it except.... ...for some reason it won’t let me upgrade to the pro version. When I tap on “Buy Now” nothing happens. If I could do that then it’s an easy five stars from me!

Wow complete lie and does not connect. I didn’t look at the reviews before purchasing but once online you can see it is a scam to buy this app. It does not route audio as it claims and does not do several other things. Reviews on the google play website say a little more of others experience

I can’t stream Netflix?. I’ve been trying to figure out this app. It’s impossible to stream netflix using it? It doesn’t link with my other apps. I bought this so I could re-route the audio from my iPad, but this app has virtually no support. Please help me and I’ll change this to a 5 star rating

Excellent. Casts videos and pics from many sources: cloud, device, network storage(NAS). Easy to use. Highly recommend.

iOS is a joke. Can’t believe I paid for this but I was desperate a solution this particular app offered. Constant crashes, layout not even accommodating to iPhones made in the last few years. Solution turned out to be Android-only which was my bad for not reading that detail. Bugs everywhere. While trying to stream I was somehow prompted to activate another “upgrade” for $0, but just opted to stay away from the app as a whole. This is not even alpha-testing worthy, let alone pay-tier.

Useless. Two issues with the app: 1) description says the app is free but the cost is $3.99 and a pro version is IAP for $0.00. So basically you have to buy the app to test it even though developer says it’s “free and fully functional” in the app description. 2) the app has all sorts of issues. Confusing and hard to figure out. If not giving access to all pics but only select - it does not populate and doesn’t show any files even though I’ve selected several. Had to redownload just to give access to all pics/videos. Then all populated. However, when streaming a video it loops the same video over and over even though I’m selecting different videos to play. I had to restart the app just to play a different video and it happens every time. Developer claims you can play video files in only a couple of formats which is ok but there are zero instructions on how to play video files that are not in your camera roll. I would delete this app in a heart beat but man, having spent $4 just to see how raw and lousy the app is made just breaks my heart.

Local Cast won’t run in iOS 11. I installed iOS 11 on 2 devices: an iPhone 6sPlus and and iPad mini 2, and Local Cast crashes on both devices after about 3 seconds during the app’s startup. I tried deleting and then downloading fresh copies on both devices as well as shutting down each device and restarting. No luck. FYI, 5 stars because I loved the app when it worked. Hopefully a fix is in the works.

Doesn't work well. I streamed music from my Google Drive just fine, but showing pictures and videos from my iPhone didn't work. Too many ads and not enough of what the app is supposed to do. If they would work it all out I would purchase an ad-free version.

Google Drive won’t Cast videos. Used to work a couple years ago now every video brings up an error. It’s the only reason I need this app, which is why I give it one star.

Should have read reviews. I’m not going to recite the things others have said. I bought the app without reading reviews because of the number of stars. I’m giving it 3 stars because at least it seems to work OK for local pics on my phone. Hoping the developer can fix everything as it’s a great idea.

Best Cloud Casting App. This app is by far the bast way to cast video from Google Drive or Drop Box. Easy, simple, I've tried them all & this is as good as it gets!

Terrible app. Doesn't recognize any video what so ever! Takes for ever to play a video! I dont see the option to hear the music through headphones! Crashes too many times! Hopefully this app gets fixed!

Best features don’t work. I’ve owned this for a few years hoping some day that the issues would be solved. The screen mirroring doesn’t work...this is the main reason I purchased this app. The local storage casting doesn’t work for most video formats.

A Chromecast that actually works!. Four stars because I haven’t found a user guide, and because the app has not been updated for two years. I am amazed it actually works after so many iOS updates. There are some peculiarities, and if there is a user guide I need to read it. I won’t go into the incredible difficulty I have had trying to get iTunes onto my so called smart tv, but it has taken two years and 120 bucks. I hope iPadOS 14 doesn’t blow this app out of the water, because an app not updated for two years has been abandoned by its dev.

Decent but still having some issues. Fundamentally this thing works ok, it'll connect to my cloud device and cast things to the tv. However, there are still core issues that need to be resolved: it will randomly crash mid stream, and if the app times out, reconnecting to the tv stops your stream and you have to restart your video. Still usable but I'd love this app to have the kinks worked out.

Works EXACTLY the way I needed!. I could not find a suitable app that would let me stream video from my LAN connected drive to my Chromecast. This app did it flawlessly and with minimal lag. This is a keeper.

Works well. This app works very well for me just a bit buggy I'll give y'all that five star but I'm waiting for you guys to add the playlist but other than that it's a great app

Great app, but need some fixes. Works great, almost everything i needed! Some features like subtitle (.str) isnt working and the app crashes when loading the ad.

Can’t find “Route audio to phone” feature. I installed this app because it has the route audio from Chromecast to phone feature but don’t see it being available anywhere on the app

No option to play audio on phone.. I was looking at multiple web articles on how to play audio on phone while watching on tv and they recommended Localcast. However there was no trial period to make sure this would work. The iphone app store made it an immediate purchase. There was no option to play the audio on my phone. There should be a way to confirm way to confirm before buying. It was a waste of money.

Does not work. Sketchy privacy.. Does not work with Chromecast 2020 & iOS 14. Also when signing up for Google Drive the app needs access to all your files, but there is a warning from Apple about this developer's privacy practices. ToS available only in German. Bought this app but immediately deleted it. Sketchy.

Works For Me. Glad I can transcode video and cast it to my Chromecast despite my very restrictive iPad not allowing much as far as downloading goes.

Great concept, poor execution.. I downloaded this app to stream from Google Drive. The bulk of the videos (3-5 min in length) streamed fine. One was too choppy and I had to give up. The issue was that after each video, it read as disconnected, so I had to reconnect to my chromecast every single time I wanted to stream anything, which is ridiculous and annoying. This app could be great but it's extremely buggy, and I'll only use it as a last resort because of this.

Not helpful for using apps with headphones. You need to have downloaded content on your device, I wanted to cast to tv and listen through headphones,this will do this but not while streaming through an app like Netflix. (I thought web video would allow Netflix) There was no free version thus the 1 star review since I wasted my money and a trial would have told me this was not going to solve my issue, I wish I could return the app….I was going to change my review since streaming from Dropbox could be useful, but it does not support mp4 format, also tried web video that also did not work….

Audio routing. I got this specific app to split video and audio to my phone and tv respectively, it does not work, wasted my money

Doesn’t work at all. I was referred to this app but it doesn’t work at all on my IOS 11.4 unfortunately. It just keeps toggling for scanning devices and yes both my Roku and iPhone SE are connected to the same WiFi. It also crashes every time I tried to access Google drive and Dropbox so I had to delete it and will be searching for another app now.

Ios 11.1. Crashing when opening DLNA

Unusable in its current state. As per the title. Ads block the menu below which makes it unusable. I cannot connect to my NAS drive like I did previously.

Not good at the moment. Crashes on Apple TV when browsing photos, and is slooooooooow. Like opening a folder on my nas with 20 pics in it, it took about 1 minute to bring up 7 thumbnails then crashed. Tried 'casting' from my iPad, one photo showed up, then when trying to swipe to next photo it crashed the iPad app. iPad app only opens in portrait too. Needs a lot of work... This is maybe an early alpha release..?

Doesn’t work. Trying to use with chrome cast and all I can get is the app logo on my TV screen .. ok if you want an object lesson in zen for the evening, not good if you are trying to load your iPhone screen on the TV

No useful functionality. Read that it could cast video to my TV and allow me to hear audio via headphones. Nope. No settings to divert audio. Waste of money.

Disappointed!!!. Referred to this app to try and stream audio to a different audio device than video. Totally did not deliver on promise. Out of pocket. Would like a refund.

Could use some improvements. The app works fine. Took me a while to get Kodi working but none the less, it works. The menus are kinda simple but simple at first but after using it, the process isn't as intuitive. This app gives off that beta vibe, not a finished product. If you aren't tech savvy, you might find this app a little awkward but this app does more than most other apps which is a plus.

Excellent app. This is exactly what I was searching for for months, it streams Videos directly from my NAS drive to Chromecast, it doesn't need any server to be installed on the PC. I highly recommend it and it is great investment.

Not what was expected. TLDR; no Netflix, not worth at all. Found this app trying to find a way to play Chromecast audio through my Bluetooth device whilst playing the video on the tv. Can’t find a private listening mode which was the whole draw of the app. Also what kind of garbage developer makes the app 5.99 with a premium version for 0.00, yes that’s right. The premium version is free for the low price of 5.99. I downloaded the app the play Netflix and listen though the app doesn’t have any kind of support for other apps so unless you can watch it on their browser which doesn’t support streaming Netflix from their website this app is useless. Though it does have the nice feature of being able to stream content from your camera roll onto your tv, though for 5.99... yikes. Some other good things I see is that it can stream Instagram, Dropbox and google drive content though I’m not sure if you could do so already without the app.

Doesn't work. I'm pretty comfortable with tech, but simply put-this doesn't work with any of my media. I am running a Plex media server which plays absolutely any format I throw at it via my Chromecast. I was certainly excited to learn that I would be able to run my files via the LocalCast app and have the video stream via the TV and have the audio streaming through my connected Blutetooth headphones. This did not happen. It tried a number of files but to no avail. Extremely disappointing.

Almost. Please add ability to switch audio tracks if there are multiple in single video container. Right now it just plays default/first one. On more issue: 1. Start a movie in folder where are multiple ones 2. Lock the phone 3. Still playing 4. Unlock the phone to resume to app 5. It plays next movie automatically interrupting current one

Can’t find my Apple TV :/. So I wanted to try to cast to my Apple TV from my iPhone but for some reason it couldn’t find my Apple TV device. I tried all troubleshooting steps within the FAQ, but nothing worked. Please fix :/

Solid App. Works effectively enough for me to keep using it, but it’s not without its flaws. Issues I experienced: 1. Skips to the next video when unlocking your phone and going into the app with a video already playing 2. Have to restart the app on tv and phone to get some videos to work even though they were compatible from the jump Overall, I like this app but I’m looking forward to them releasing a better version.

Should have read the reviews first!. Terrible app. I fell into the trap, like others mention, where I saw comments about using this app and how great it was online. It’s terrible! Doesn’t do anything! I wanted to use it to stream video via chromecast and audio to a Bluetooth stereo. There is no options to do anything, other than use it for your pictures or videos you recorded. Apple should take this app down. It is not as advertised and they steal your money! I’ve tried contacting the app developer and no response. He must need $5.49 more than I do, so considering it a donation.

Gimmicky. Not at all what I was expecting. Bought this for the sole purpose of rerouting audio back to phone so I could use headphones when watching YouTube videos, listening to music. Turns out you can’t even do that, not to mention the layout is a mess and doesn’t really do anything on top of what the Chromecast already does.

App crashes all the time. Trying to allow this app to access my google account and it crashes right away. It doesn’t work at all. I have an iPad mini, latest version of iOS.

Just false advertisement. You are going to see lots and lots of websites recommending this app. The icon just gives you the impression. The app is made by google. All the UI and layout also mimics google in order to make you believe it’s a trusted app, it is not. I just don’t know why apple doesn’t take this app down.

Easy to use and super fast but.... This app was perfect but then I tried streaming a movie from my DLNA NAS and the audio didn't work. Streaming 1080p over to my chromecast was so fast! No lag and no precahing! :) wish more codecs were supported though. As a result, no pro purchase.

Works but needs work. For all giving 1 star, you need to really understand what’s going on with your internal network. I have no issues with this app in regard to casting media to certain devices that support it. For example, i can cast to my shield with no issue, and to a Firestick with the added LocalCast app. I can also cast it to my Vizio TV. In regards to functionality — when trying to cast from your local storage you can only cast from your Photos app pretty much. It does not allow you to access the other “my files” local storage which is a bit upsetting. I am trying to find a workaround for it but may just email the dev to see if Apple blocked it. This app works. You just need to understand how to use it.

Bad Poor and doesn’t deserve your money. I bought this app few days ago as I want cast videos to tv and listen from my earphones. Some sites in google claimed this app will help. This is not true it only displays photos and videos from your phone and you cannot separate the audio. In addition it takes the money for pro version and you cannot access it. I emailed the developer more than one time with no response. The rating of 3.9 in app store looks like manipulated and not true. No refund offer. Save your money.

You got rid of the audio extraction. Now it's useless without audio extraction and chromecast works with all the apps that it naturally is hosted on.

Needs some work. After a long time, the app finds my second Dlna server, identifies it with the wrong up address (same as 1st dlna server). It's possible to browse the media content but not even playing back a simple h.264/aac MP4 file works.

Poor DLNA Support. Doesn't work with HDHomeRun Prime tuner. Connects to box, sees the channels, but doesn't play them.

Useless. Supposed to read my apps and act as an interface between my iPad and Chromecast. Tv recognizes the app. That’s where this ends. App recognizes none of the apps on iPad to cast to TV. Garbage. So mad I trusted reviews and bought Pro version.

Crashing all the time. Bugs don’t seem to be addressed. Always crashes

Update crashes. Crashes with new update.

Must be connected to internet for local DLNA. DLNA does not work with out internet connection, even if you are connected to a WiFi that the DLNA device is connected to.

Terrible. Stay far away from this terrible app, refuses to do anything.....

Google Drive. Still does not work on IOS with Google Drive. Do they test these updates?

Trash. Absolute trash, and complete waste of 3.99$... I mean wth??? The app doesn’t cast at first, had to redownload it cast... even then the cast is crap... doesn’t cast all video formats for some crazy reason... There’s some free cast apps that work much much much better than this one... atleast they work properly

Freezes up or just crashes. The iOS 11 update did not help crashing issues. Too bad, looked interesting.

Terrible app. Beware, don’t spend the money for this. Everything I read online that this app could do, it can not. It couldn’t even open any video that I had saved on my phone.

okay. It keeps on kicking me from the app, I’ve restarted my phone but once I get in the app and click anything it kicks me from it
