THANK YOU!. I just recently began using this app and love it! As a person with Celiac Disease, I must be extremely careful about anything I put in my mouth. This app helps take the guesswork out of an ingredient list. I like the fact that I can put comments for each item that will help me to remember any specific reaction I will have to a product. As I continue to use the app, I will give an updated review, hopefully with positive comments.

Almost perfect. I am newly GF and this app has been a great help. My only problem is that a lot of the items I’ve scanned are not recognized, even with the full version. But what I usually do when that happens is search the ingredients individually on the app. Which makes it slightly more time consuming but still very helpful.

Great App!!!. This App has helped me so much! My daughter has Celiac Disease and can not have any gluten. I use this App at the grocery store and scan everthing, even if it says gluten free on the package. I have found several items marked gluten free that were not. Thanks to this App it will let you know if there are any gluten ingredients hidden.

Thank you. This app is very helpful to me, especially at the grocery stores. I've even used it at home to double check a food or ingredient. Going gluten free is more complicated than I expected but this app makes life a little easier. I've been using it for about 10 months now and have found it to be very accurate. One request: add lots more store brands and generics.

A lifesaver. I have celiac, and when I want to eat a little snack, it rhymes I am always worried that I might accidentally get a bit of gluten but with this app I can scan a barcode and I can find the hidden gluten if there is any in the product without this I probably be really sick because I have scammed numerous items that said contain gluten when they were labeled gluten-free I highly recommend to people who are gluten-free. This app is amazing.

A life saver. This has been most single helpful tool in finding gluten free food. Some food might claim gluten free and even have a certification that it’s gluten free but when scanning, it has warnings that it could have gluten in it. Definitely a must have app for those who have celiac disease or other gluten allergies. Download this app now!

AMAZING. My friend was recently diagnosed with celiacs disease. Even without the full version this app worked amazing. We were able to eat things without a care knowing that a professional was answering her questions. Because she was recently diagnosed she is scared to trust many things by just looking at the ingredients. This app literally saved our lives. 😊 So amazing!

Useless App..... Update to developer response: I’ve tried everything. I’ve update to the latest iOS, restarted my globe, uninstalled and installed the app, tried it on WiFi and then regular internet connection. It doesn’t work. My assumption from other reviews is it doesn’t work on older phones (I have an SE), and I’m not spending $1000 on a phone just to be able to use an app. I’ll stick with the “ipiit” scanner app which actually works on all phones. Very disappointed. This was a great, easy to use app. I've tried to use it multiple times this weekend and it just loads a blank screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still nothing. Glad I have another gluten free scanner.

Wonderful tool. This is a valuable tool for me, having been diagnosed with Celiac disease in the later mature years of my adult life. I have scanned many items, from foods to beauty products. Used to love it... I used to love this app, until it asked me to rate it a 5 star review to keep it free. Ever since I gave them the five star review, every time I open the app it is not on the scanning option and I have to seek out the scanner, and then once I scan something and try to go back to scan something else it cycles to a blank white page and I have to search for the scanner once again. It used to be really convenient to just scan multiple items back to back and now I have to individually select the scanner option every time I want to scan some thing and backpedal to find it. I have adjusted my five star review to two to reflect this unfortunate new bug.

Deleted first day. I tried 10 different barcodes the first day I downloaded this in a grocery store. It errored our every single time. I get it can’t know every single barcode, but a can of progressive soup? A jar of heinz ketchup? Really? I just started doing everyday things to see if it would work. It didn’t. Can you make a way for us to add our own barcodes at the store and enter the deets in to help your database? I finally got so frustrated I just deleted it after about an hour. It never worked.

GF Granny. I love this app. I have celiac and have used this app for several years now. Saves so much time in the stores. I would recommend purchasing the full version. I can’t imagine how much work has gone into it, but I thank the developer very much.

Helpful. This app has been so far great in helping me find foods that are gluten free, I have been eating Linder coconut and on the back it says may contain soy and that’s it, so I thought I was fine eating it but lately I have been getting stomachaches and I had no idea from what, so I downloaded this app scanned most of the things I eat and it said that Linder coconut does have gluten, so I stopped eating it and now I am back to feeling fine. (I do recommend the full version)

Locking in GF Scanner. I LOVE this app. However, there are times after I have scanned a product and see the results, I cannot exit the app without taking my phone completely down. This same thing happened on my old iPhone 6; I now have an iPhone 11. Yes, I’d cleared out the memory of the places I’d been on my phone. Sometimes even after taking my phone completely down, bringing it back up, and going back into GF Scanner and scan again, it locks again, so I cannot exit GF Scanner. Yes, I tried going to other places in GF Scanner to see if I can exit without just shutting down my phone - no difference!!!! Help, please.

Great tool but glitchy. Very helpful for quickly identifying if some items are GF but the app is glitchy. After I scan a product the back arrow doesn’t work. App freezes up periodically. I find myself having to shut it down and restart it a lot. Get some bugs worked out and continue to grow the database and it will be a truly useful app.

Really helpful but stopped working :(. This app is amazing and makes shopping so much easier. I used to have to google a new item I wanted to purchase while in the store...now I can scan the barcode. Not all barcodes are found, I am hoping more barcodes will be available in the future. However, I have not been able to use the app recently, the scanner won't even open.

Gluten free app. I am celiac last week I went to Castle rock Colorado with my mother to visit with one of her friends. Ms. Ewing’s has a daughter that is gluten free intolerant and a grandson who is celiac. They had been to a conference earlier in the month supported by celiac foundation in Colorado. One of the things Mrs. Ewing had on her phone was the gluten free for scanner. ($3.99), I believe is the one time fee for the full version. I have just downloaded the app on my phone and I do not have the full version as I have only tried it on two items and it appears to work well so I will probably purchase and download the full version. Thank you

No Aldi’s??. I’ve scanned four items from Aldi’s so far and one from Kroger, and not a single Aldi’s item came up as “in the database.” While the app isn’t completely useless because of this, it is certainly nothing I’d ever consider paying for after finding this out. Very disappointed unfortunately. Edit ** I received a reply but it didn’t really respond to my issue. Kroger items are not the problem. ALDI’S are. I will use the leave feedback feature, but I’m not the only one to make this complaint.

So helpful. This app is so helpful when I am grocery shopping! I can zap the product and find out if there is gluten in it! It’s also good when trying new recipes which need ingredients or products I am not familiar with,and I want to make sure it is safe! Plus it is cool to be zapping in a store ,for my allergy! People are amazed !😊

Great but missing one feature. I really like this app, just started GF and this has been such a life saver but one feature I think it's missing is on the history list it would be nice if you didn't have to click on each item to see if it's GF or not.

If you can read you don’t need this. My daughter was just diagnosed with celiac and we found this app and thought it would help with some of the questionable labels - it doesn’t. The very first thing I scanned it told me I needed to pay for the app, so we did. Now it scans but it just tells me exactly what the label says, if the label says gluten free so will the app. If the label doesn’t say gluten free but there are not listed gluten ingredients the app will say “no gluten contains ingredients” and then say but they don’t know about cross contamination - duh. That’s why I needed an app. I thought it was going to give me more info on products than the labels do - through user input or because they contacted companies and recorded the info etc - it doesn’t. If you can read a label you do not need to waste $3.99

Love the app but there’s a few bugs. I love the app so much I bought the full version. But when I go to the list and click on a product and hit back it doesn’t let me go back to the main list( breads, cheese’s, ect.) it just keeps going back to the bread list then back to the product I clicked on. I have to close the app completely then open it back up and go to the list (breads, cheese, ect) 😩 please fix.

Very helpful. I love this app! Simple scan, don't even need to press a button and it pops up green check mark or red exclamation. Downside is when what you scan isn't in the database and that doesn't happen too often. The app seems to crash a fair amount, too. I just keep closing and reopening it til it works again. It's made going GF so much less stressful

Easy to use but.. This free app is helpful in getting through grocery store without having to read ingredients on every label. But there were sooo many foods that scanner couldn’t find. It would suggest I purchase the more complete app which I did but the pay app doesn’t work any better! Don’t waste your money just use the free one. In July the developer responded to me. Basically told me to try scanning more products. Wonder why I need to do that? I need it to scan the ones I’m interested in, also they suggested I need the paid app which I have! I have tried it more but at least 1/2 of the time it can’t find the product. Rarely even open app anymore. Very disappointed.

Helpful in the grocery store. We just had to change our entire lifestyle to being Gluten Free. This app is helpful especially in a time crunch run to the grocery store and on a budget. Not everything in the store has to say "gluten free" to be the expensive gluten free label. The only problem I have is that some very common items are not yet listed on this app. Please add. Items that are needed for everyday life of a kid that wants to be normal and fit in at a slumber party and not be singled out. Halloween and Birthday Parties are my child's biggest worries. This app is about 60% helpful on those specific areas. On daily meals and snack, this app is about 90% helpful.

Thank you. After 53 years I finally found out what all my medical problems were. I’m gluten intolerant. My life has totally changed. This APP has saved me so many times. I’m still in the learning process but thanks to this APP I know what I can and can’t eat. It’s the most used APP on my phone. My whole family has downloaded it. We scan everything. Waste. I tried this app and it has a VERY SMALL amount of items that it has stored. I’ve scanned so many and more times than not, there is no listing for the item I’m scanning. Definitely deleting it Update: So the developer sent me an email, asking me if I’m scanning products that aren’t food or drink…. That question is unreal to me! Luis, you got me! You’re right.. I shouldn’t be scanning walls, pictures or pieces of blank paper! OMG! I can’t believe you asked me that question! How dumb do you think people are??? Thank you for that massive insult! Don’t ever email me again!!! Now I would give your app a -10!

Why isn't it working?. My fiancée has Celiacs and I (still being able to eat gluten) rely heavily on this app to be able to do our grocery shopping without sending my fiancée to the hospital.😧 however over the past few weeks I have not been able to access the app. I've deleted it restarted my phone reinstalled checked for updates and to no avail. I'm very disappointed and would REALLY like to continue using this app. Any advice? I literally won't try any new foods without having this handy. Please help!

GF Scanner. This is a huge help when I’m at the grocery store. I want to thank you so much for making it available. No longer do I have to guess or cross my fingers!!! So easy to use too! Thank you. I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and I’m so overwhelmed with everything. At 49 yo it’s hard to change your whole lifestyle. I lost a lot of weight 78lbs over the last year due to this I’m losing my hair and I can’t remember things. This is the best app for me because I can’t remember anything due to malnutrition. I found this app today and almost cried because it odd going to maker my life so much easier. I bought the full version right away. Best GF Shopping Buddy. This app is SO handy at the grocery store! Our daughter was diagnosed celiac two years ago. For this Italian family, it was a huge adjustment. And we started out extremely ignorant. This app was recommended by another friend with celiac and it completely changed our ability to keep our daughter safe. Now we go to the store feeling confident that what we buy (labeled GF or not) is not going to make her sick.

Not enough items in the free app. I downloaded the free version and found that a lot of name brand items are included but most generic label are not in the database. It keeps saying to purchase the full version to see more items. Based on other reviews it seems like the full version doesn’t include a lot of items.

Saved by the GF app. Dont know what I would do without this app, It has saved me many tines in the grocery store when trying to find if there is gluten in different products. This goes for plain frozen vegetables. It has been very helpful and saved me time reading ingredients that I have no idea what they are. Thanks!!

Nothing to see- new update. I purchased the full version… every time I scan a product it tells Me not found and says I can upgrade to the full version…. I already did!!! Sent a message for help… if it gets fixed, I will do another review. After I got the full version, this app is pretty helpful. I’ll bring giving it a more thorough test drive the next time I go shopping….however, we were uncertain if some of the items in our pantry had gluten. This app answered those questions! I foresee it being a good help!! Thank you for the quick response in getting me set up correctly!

1 star. Don’t waste you time of the $4.99. I was very excited to use this app after seeing all the ratings. Since downloading and using it’s been a complete disappointment! Half of everything I scanned came up with “ Barcode Number Not Found”. One some of the largest lost popular brands.. It was beyond frustrating. I opt to pay the $4.99 to get more access to labels. ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! if you get this app just keep at free. It’s not worth a cent to upgrade. It provides nothing…

Happy but...... Y’all are getting 5 stars regardless. It’s probably really hard to do and I totally understand but Wegmans products need to be added. There are more that need to be added but this app works great! I can’t knock it because it doesn’t have Wegmans products they are not national but I know a lot of people shop there. This actually let me know that Cookie Crisp is not a gluten containing food and I was surprised by that. Great app! ❤️

So helpful!. I love this app. I have Celiac and use it all the time when at the grocery store. It works best with most brands you find at the larger grocery stores like Kroger, HEB, Walmart, etc. A lot of foods don’t mark whether or not they’re has been cross-contamination during production so this is helpful with finding out whether or not it’s safe. I recommend this app to so many people. I do hope it eventually includes brands at more specialized stores like Costco, Trader Joe’s, and Aldi.

Great Tool. I have just gotten this app and so far I've only tried it with items in my pantry. I wanted to check to see how reliable it is before using it while shopping. So far, it is 100% accurate. This will come in very handy and save a lot of time not having to read every label.

Thank you for a great app!. I am so happy to find this. I've recently been diagnosed as gluten sensitive. A busy mom who works full time, I've been having a hard time reading labels. Results not found. 90% of the scans I make to identify if a product has gluten or not come up with “results not found” as a search response. I have to manually type in each and every ingredient to find if something is safe when not indicated on labeling. It has made shopping very time consuming and extremely difficult. Which has added a whole new challenge in helping my 5 year old and her recent celiacs diagnosis.

Fingers crossed. I can hardly wait to go shopping and actually try this app out. Stay tuned lol I have had the hardest time making sure everything I buy is gluten-free. My husband’s gluten-free and although we’ve been together for almost 10 years I still don’t have it down pat

Couldn’t have done it without this app. My daughter was getting married and I was making all the food “Italian”. I have family that cannot have gluten and some of the other guests could not as well. This app is so easy to use when shopping for the menu. I had my marker and marked all the food that was gluten free. Had more food for the guests because of this app. Thank you

Works great. I downloaded this app because my grandson was diagnosed with celiac and we were overwhelmed on our first trip to the grocery store trying to figure which products were gluten free. This app does that so quickly. And the best surprise was it only cost $3.99 for lifetime use. No subscription like so many other apps.

No longer works. I am a celiac patient who has used the free ap for about a year with great results up until now .. it seems to have stopped working in my grocery store. I have deleted and downloaded the free app twice with same results.. I even had a friend download to his phone with the same disappointing results .. my conclusion is that the free version no longer works in a store without WiFi

Great in theory but.... There are way too many products that come up as not found. For something like this to actually be useful I need more than one out of eight products a scan to actually be in the database. Same with the search feature. I found that all too often I still just have to search Google anyway. I did purchase the paid version.

Love how easy to scan. My husband and I use this app all the time. It’s so nice just to grab and scan and know !! Thanks for this app. A lot of items are in there, I can’t wait until more. Gluten Free. I am very happy with the app and being able to find out if a product is truly GF as gluten can be hidden as “natural flavorings” in ingredient lists. However I am confused about up to 6 family members being able to share the app but then the in-app purchases can’t be shared? The basic app is free so where does the family sharing apply?

Charmine. I use the Gluten Free App because I have a Daughter in law who has Celiacs. The App is very helpful in purchasing things that contain no gluten when I cook a meal that she will partake of. It is so Helpful. I use it while at the Grocery Store, and it saves me having to go back many times. I’m Grateful an App like this is available to me. Thank You.

Suggestion. You should enable a method of feedback that doesn’t involve entering a users first and last name and email address. I recommend two buttons indicating “suspected reaction” and “no reaction” And also a way to communicate more within the app with a login user name and password. Thanks

Very limited database. Finding this App much less useful than I’d hoped. Sooo many national-level products aren’t in here, and especially the store brands. So frustrating to scan & constantly receive the response that it’s not in the database. (Don’t know if the full version, perhaps, has a larger database.)

Great app!. I’ve been using this app for a long while now and I love it. While it doesn’t have information on all scannable items it does have the majority of them. I would say it has info on 9 out of 10 products that I scan. It’s great and very useful!

Makes shopping easier!. This app is great. Often times, I feel overwhelmed when going to the grocery store because it can be challenging to know what is and isn’t gluten free. There could be more labels that are scannable but overall I’m happy with it.

Nothing ever scans. I don’t know if the other reviews are fake or what, but I purchased the full version and have scanned over 100 items at 3 stores (Kroger, aldi, Walmart) and not a single barcode has worked. Every single item has said product not found. So far this has been nothing but a scam, which is heartbreaking because my 2 year old daughter was just diagnosed with celiac and I am trying to redo all our groceries.

USELESS APP!!. I scammed several items and it said item is not available. I was given the option to pay for more features but FORGET THAT!! I’m not paying money for an app to tell me if something is safe for me to eat! It should be FREE!! Money hungry app is all this is! DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING!! Great App for Food Shopping. I love using this app when I am at the grocery store. It clearly states if the product I scan contains gluten, has gluten containing ingredients, or is gluten free. I have told more than a few friends who are going gluten free to use this app while shopping.

Scanned Product Gluten Free. This scanner scanned a product Gluten Free that contains wheat. I have Celiac disease so my whole family downloaded the app and when they are out shopping they rely heavily on this app. My husband made me a plate that contained one of the items that stated gluten free. After eating the product I wanted to check the ingredients because I just couldn’t believe it. And in bold on the ingredients it stated contains wheat. If you have celiac I would not rely on this app to be accurate.

Great Gluten Free App to scan bar codes. I recently was diagnosed as a Celiac. I needed to quickly find a way to identify existing products in my home as gluten free or not. The bar scan feature in this app was a terrific time saver. Also it has a search lookup feature. Fantastic help!

Do not use. So I was coming home from school one day and a got a Rice Krispie so I came home from school and I scanned it, it said “gluten free” so i searched it up and it says the cereal in it contain gluten. Once I also scanned something that said gluten free on it but it came up as “contain gluten”. Get the app right.

New to Celiac. This app has saved me multiple times while grocery shopping. I have been recently diagnosed as Celiac and reading labels is a little overwhelming. This has taken some ease out of the trip to the store.

Gluten free app. This app is a really helpful tool when grocery shopping. It’s not always easy to tell if a product is gluten free and this app saved me quite a few times from accidentally buying something I previously thought was gluten free.

So fast!!. I couldn't believe how responsive this app is. The result pops up nearly instantly, without having to fumble with getting the label perfectly centered, lit, or focused either. Quick, easy and straight-forward.

GF Must Have. So handy at the grocery. I can add On 1/2 hour to my shopping trip just reading ingredients to see if what I want is gluten-free. With this you just point and click. Only gave it four stars because I just bought the premium and it isn’t as smooth as the free app and often times doesn’t get you anywhere except to what feels like advertising to me.

Great app!. This has been a resourceful app since our soon was diagnosed with celiac. There are some items that were not in the database so I either read over the ingredients or put back on the shelf...but otherwise pretty helpful!

Celiac Must Have. After 55 years of being able to eat/drink anything I wanted, I was diagnosed with celiac disease. At first it seemed it would be a huge undertaking to get on a GF diet. Thanks to family, friends and this app the transition to a GF lifestyle has been much easier.

StillSaneAt68. This app is great! I scan all barcodes of foods when I'm unsure of gluten content, and so far it's been 100% accurate in it's screening. Of course, if the barcode itself is inaccurate, it can't scan the actual food, so let's hope the Big Food Conglomerates stay honest! (Good luck on that!).

Meh. This app is helpful when it actually has the item in the database. However about 85% of the items I’ve scanned aren’t listed. 🙁 I downloaded the full version ($3.99) hoping that it would help. It didn’t. I don’t usually buy name brand, a lot of the time I buy the Kroger, member mark, Kirkland etc. none of the member mark products are listed. Really?! Disappointed so far. Especially since it came highly recommend.

New to gluten free diets. This app is incredibly helpful especially when you have parents who do know much about being gluten free and this was an easy way just so they can find me snacks for school and dinners. We never knew about being gluten intolerant until I had to be.

Great App but it’s missing more food than it has.. My daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac disease so I installed this app for her. Most of the time when she scans something it’s not found. There also several times that things come up as containing gluten but per the manufacturer the product IS gluten free. I hope the app improves.

Gluten Allergy. This has been a great free app to assist me at the grocery store on GF items for my husband who has a severe allergy. Have been using it for a few years now and would definitely recommend it.

Very Easy and Helpful. This app is so easy to use as well as helpful! People that are new to a gluten free diet can use this app in the store to scan the barcodes before they buy it. My mom finds it helpful because you don’t have to read all the food labels. Highly recommend this app!

Makes taking care of Grandkids less stressful. When grandkids with significant dietary issues come to visit without their parents, it is much more relaxing to meal plan when we know what items are safe for them to eat!

Great resource. This app helps us a lot. We can quickly scan an item and it tells us whether it is gluten free or not. If cross contamination is an issue , it provides that information as well. It works for a lot of the products but not all.

A fantastic resource!!. Ever since getting diagnosed with Celiac Disease this app has been a life saver for me. It’s quick and convenient to find gluten free food! I love scanning barcodes and quickly seeing if the food I want is GF or not. Highly recommend this app!

Helpful and quick. It’s wonderful to have a quick way to check items for gluten free. However the reference library is limited and searching online while in the store does occasionally happen.

Love it!!. I use this app on a regular basis when shopping and often when I’m at my friend’s house for dinner! So easy just to double check with a scan than to have to google everything!!!

Celiacs Disease. Having just found out@67 years old I have Celiacs is devastating . Having to change your way of eating and learning what has gluten in has been extremely challenging. Thankfully someone told me about this app snd it is a Godsend🙏❤️

Database is lacking. I have a 10 yr that has been diagnosed Celiac so was excited to see this app! I would say that more than half the items I scan aren’t in their database.l!! I went through my pantry scanning everything and found items labeled as gluten free NOT in their database as well. I spend more time looking at ingredients to determine if there is gluten in it! This app is minimally helpful!!

Totally Worthless. So far I’ve scanned 10 different things around my kitchen and only 1 of them was found in the apps barcode database. That 1 found product then didn’t even have accurate information. The product was certified gluten free rice cereal and the app incorrectly indicated there was gluten in it. This was all after I upgraded to the paid version of the app. This thing is totally worthless, just skip it.

Newbie. I am new to gluten fray and had no idea what gluten even was. I am so happy with this app it tells you everything and you can scan everything in the grocery stores to see if it is gluten-free. It comes in so handy perfect!

Helpful App. This is one of the most helpful Apps when shopping or even at home in my pantry. Knowing if something is GF at the tap of a button is the best thing for anyone especially a gluten free cook!

Amazing. I don’t know where I would be without this app. I was diagnosed less than a year ago with Celiac. While I still read labels, this app gives me confidence that I am processing what I read for ingredients correctly.

Very helpful!. This app has become a staple for me. I have celiac and cannot be exposed to cross contamination, let alone ingest gluten. The scanner helps me determine if something is safe or not. I’m so grateful to have something that I can trust when it comes to my health.

Huge help.... This app is invaluable to a family in which celiac disease exists. Shopping without it would be so much more difficult and time-consuming. It’s made the whole thing so much more manageable.

Best way to shop. As a recent newcomer to the world of gluten free eating using this app makes shopping so much easier. I am so glad a friend told me about it and I frequently share with others how helpful I have found it.

So far...... I just spent the $3.99 for the upgraded app because wasn’t finding all I needed. Unfortunately, having a similar problem with the full version!! I scan Tyson chicken strips, for example, something my daughter ate a lot, and it says item Not found but here’s things from same manufacturer- but it’s a completely different company and products!! It’s happened 4 times now. Not happy, hoping this doesn’t continue.
