Current version is a rip off. One year access only!. I used to be a big Luxe guide fan. These little guides were useful, stored in my phone for easy reference and had some fantastic shopping and dining recommendations, and they were updated regularly. With a recent update, these guides are now $14.99 each and it expires after a year! I've also since realized there's nothing very special about their recommendations, with a little bit of effort, you can find them anywhere online for free! Sorry Luxe, you've just lost a user who used to buy your guides religiously! Update 31/7/17: my digital guides were accidentally removed due to a technical glitch. I've since received the guides back. Thanks Luxe, for the response and technical fix.

Highly INACCURATE. This is the second time I have tried to use this app. in Italy, specifically Florence. The information is out of date, wrong or just not true. Really sad that you are advertising the best of the best, yet your information is wrong. I’d like a refund.

What a resource!. I’ll never travel without the Luxe app. Absolutely everything at your finger tips when you’re on the go - directions, restaurants, things to do and more. So convenient, love Luxe!

Never leads me astray - the BEST. I love LUXE guides and I've dutifully been using them for a decade. They've never let me down yet! I still think about this tiny shop in Dubai off the beaten path where I bought the most gorgeous silk tunics....sigh. The app is even better since you can make itineraries and lists and keep it all sorted on your mobile phone. I just came from Milan and used the LUXE guide...the bar and restaurants and things to do where all on point. Sometimes the app isn't correct about the neighborhood (Gino Sorbillo restaurant was absolutely NOT in the Duomo neighborhood) so make sure to double check locations on Google Maps or a similar app. Otherwise I'm thrilled with LUXE on my mobile!

Don't buy this app. This is the most ridiculous waste of money for an app. $9.99 for an app that tells you less than I gathered in a day and a half here. There is almost nothing on the Paris guide. Considering that this is the most visited city in the world, it is appalling how little info is actually available, though they promise you five times as much in the preview. Buy a Kindle city guide for $5.99. DON'T BUY ANY OF THEM! Wish I could get my money back.

Wasted 9.99 for in-app purchase that doesn't work. Did in-app purchase to buy a guide, which is then 100% inaccessible. Pointless app.

Bangkok on-line Luxe Guide very limited. Bangkok is a big thriving city with many incredible things to do, see, eat. The $14 cost for the App Bangkok Guide is not worth the price as the recommendations in all of the categories are very limited.

Have trusted Luxe for 15+ years of travel. As much as I like real books and paper, the app is even easier to use than the original Luxe foldable guides. Can always depend on the quality and number of ideas given. Trust!

Limited and disappointing. I bought the Barcelona guide and found it very disappointing, especially for the price. Several times we were in pretty basic neighborhoods (Barrio Gotic, El Born, Eixample) and found more to do from searching recent posts on local or travel blogs. For one restaurant recommendation, the name was completely wrong (or it closed). The focus seems to be more on curating a limited, exclusive, travel experience than on offering a wide variety of options.

Luxe Guide - out of date as of 2023. I have been using luxe guides since 2003 and purchased the full digital set in June 2023. Unfortunately most of these (eg Hong Kong, Istanbul, London) are 2+years out of date (post covid) with simple info available on most tourist sites - vey disappointing as Luxe used to be great with unique insights

Brilliant to see, shop and eat for busy people. My partner always one-ups me when it comes to finding great places in Istanbul, New York or Tokyo for shopping, eating or seeing the sights. Not so anymore now that I have this guide that finds what I need on a nicely curated and very accessible basis. Turns out she was using the Luxe Guide all along...

Great content for luxe travel. I have been using Luxe guides for years to help me plan my adventures, and they have always served me well. I have probably visited 8 cities now with my Luxe guide in hand, and use it for everything from hotel selection to restaurants and shopping.

Updates. Doesn’t seem like they are keeping these guides current, some restaurants and bars have a lot negative reviews on tripadvisor and some bars are completely closed out of business. Might be good to cross reference but perhaps Luxe is only advertising businesses that pay them to promote those businesses which would be a real disappointment. Further, I have bought several of these guides yet they have an update or when you try to restore your purchase you still cannot get access to a guide previously purchased that isn’t right because the consumer has already purchased it - so clearly they are just charging twice - they need to fix this or be more transparent in their costs if they are charging you multiple times for the same application- I feel ripped off.

Rip off. Each city requires an additional payment of 5.99 - all information available on the net with better reviews and prices - trip advisor / zomato/ or even Yelp!

Luxe Rox!. This app makes your city travel way easier. Tons of useful information about shopping, dining and hotel'ing. Well worth it.

Fantastic guide for shopping and dining. This app is great for people who want high-end shopping and dining experiences in the cities they visit. By high-end, I don't necessarily mean expensive, just well-curated and with a sense of humor. Of course, the Luxe guides will help you find the finer things in life, but they also concentrate on places that make you feel in the know. No chain stores or tourist traps here. Love them and hope they have more cities soon!

Essential for smart travel.. First discovered the paper version in Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 and have never looked back. Excellent curation. Honestly all you need. Perfect on the phone.

Trip Saver. As a judgey New Yorker... Luxe is the only guide I trust. It has saved trips for me!

Great guides updated regularly. I love these guidebooks. They are updated regularly with new listings and match well with the way I like to travel. Don't be fooled by the "luxe" name, there are plenty of less expensive experiences that are unique that luxe recommends in the guides.

The app itself is okay but the guides are great. Very useful guides - use them exclusively when traveling

Nice for short city trips. Great recommendations, tips, maps, all rolled into an easy to use app when on the go city trips.

Very useful, though implemented weakly. LUXE maps integrate very nicely with mobile phone mapping (on iPhones anyway), helping you find attractions even in tough (geographic) locales like Venice. Content and suggested locales include some great suggestions, and good restaurant picks, but much of the material is a bit slanted towards party-hardy 30-somethings, FWIW. The app attempts to work even when offline (a key issue if you're on the road) but that's hit-and-miss: sometimes it forgets what guides you have, and needs wifi to refresh, and there isn't any where you are. So don't rely on it alone.

Out of date. These used to be fantastic but have sadly gone way out of date. I’m sure it’s difficult economically to keep them up to date but it’s dishonest to keep selling these guides with out of date info. At least they should be labeled as historical and buyer beware.

Very Little information. I would give this guide minus if I could. I paid $22.99 and received the Miami Guide which consisted of little info, one or two photos of each entry and a paragraph of info which you could with little effort find more out for free. So far I have sent 3 emails to Luxe and received no reply.

Very different, but very cool. A bit of a departure from the normal travel guides - hard to get used to at first. Short content for recommendations, but really spot on! Very sassy writing too, but you do occasionally need to decipher some descriptions. Dining section is especially outstanding for Melb.

Travel the world with luxe!. I love this app. It makes planning where to eat, shop, hang out & what to see & do on holiday so easy. Even better that my home city is included, I love being able to tick off my favourite restaurants & bars as well as find new ones to explore.

Style without the seriousness. These are style and travel guides with the best taste, without the elitism....They always make me smile and feel 100% comfortable with the listed recommendations. Get these and get ready for a FAB trip!

Great tool to have on your phone. I have been using Luxe guide for years originally hard copies but now only digital. I find them very helpful for finding accommodation and restaurants and so very convenient being on my phone

brilliant guide. have been using these guides for years and they just get better all the time. if you have technical problems they sort them out quickly. try them you will not be disappointed.

The easy way to navigate a new city. We have used the app in a number of cities. It really comes into its own when you use the places near me functionality. We have almost always been pleased with the recommendation

Paris Lux. Not good. Not value for money. Lacking in depth. Better off with TripAdvisor i think. Would not recommend

Great value app. Excellent information all in the one place. The recommendations are spot on.

Milan: super expensive with limited recommendations.. I’m pretty disappointed with this digital guide. Very short descriptions, limited pictures and limited recommendations. Probably good for someone only with a day or 2 in this location. Very expensive. Complete rip off for what you get as I trialled the the free version and this was not much different at all. DO NOT GET THIS.

So disappointing!. I used to purchase the paper versions before covid and always found it great. Perfect for finding those cool understated luxury gems. When I purchased the Bangkok edition last week, there were only a handful of suggestions which would barely cover a envelope with outdated photos and places which are very off brand for Luxe. Don’t bother.

Great. Few teething problems but now a great app. Suggested itineraries is a brilliant addition.

A complete ripoff. Somehow these people think it's ok to take your money (as in, VERY recently), stop supporting the app that you purchased, and then start a new app and take your money again. Buyer beware: who knows how long before they take the money, run, and start again. And shame on Apple for allowing it to happen.

Be in the know!. These guides have been my travel backbone since before the digital age! What a joyful, helpful and useful guide series. Love the insider tips and the voice of me in your context t! Mwah!

Luxe City Guide Ho Chi Minh. This was an in-app purchase. Content OK but very limited for $22! Not value for money.

Love these.. I’m addicted to this app and the guides within. I love how you can navigate what’s around you easily, save your favourites and get a real sense of what to skip and how to best do the rest. Love the apps flow and functionality overall.

The perfect city travel guide. I've been to Barcelona 4 times already but this app has really helped me sort out my next visit based on the experience I'm looking for; whether it may be chilled or sophisticated or or a mix of the two.

Virtually useless. I used to love the fold-out cardboard guides with wonderfully written copy that was bang-on, but these guides are terrible in comparison. The information is scant and the maps just don't work, so rather than helping, they helped get us lost. The technology just isn't up to scratch but neither are the guides themselves. All the fun of Luxe has gone, sigh.

My GO-TO app for travelling. Trying to wade through all the guff on the internet or guide books is impossible. These girls are totally on my stylenut wavelength for the must-dos and must-sees of major cities. I use their guides almost exclusively.

Cool friend in every city. Have you ever wanted a cool friend in every city who wows you with every carefully curated item they have slotted into your city break itinerary ? Well then please let me introduce you to Luxe City Guides. I use them to plan. They guide me around when I hit the ground. They distract me when I am rudely awoken by jet lag in the middle of the night. I love their sassy tone so much, sometimes I just read them for fun.

Out of date poor service. I would never buy from Luxe again. 50% of the locations are closed. When I complained they offered me a “free guide” through a link that didn’t work. Then suggested I lie to Apple to get a refund. Total shonks, sad because Luxe used to be great.

Great service and guides. Luxe guides are great. Getting one for a new place is almost like a holiday in itself! And the mobile team are lovely and responsive with fixing an access issue I had (due to my fault). Very highly recommended.

Spend the money - still waiting. Despite buying a guide, paying the money and registering (for all those email ads) ... I still don't have the guide - bring back paper and the good old book store!

Not so good anymore. I have been buying Luxe guides for over 15 years and they used to be very good. However, since COVID I have bought 3 and they were all outdated. Many of the shops and restaurants have been permanently closed but the Luxe guide doesn’t say so. They need to be updated. Unfortunately I won’t buy any more until I see some improvements.

Amazing content and design!. I've been enjoying LUXE guides for nearly 10 years. Nothing out there surpasses them in terms of quality of content for the modern traveler or value-for-money. The new app is ingenious and beautifully designed.
