Horrible...even the paid version!. I have the paid version and I have very good WiFi, good signal and connections (I am a tech person and I totally understand these things!). I cannot get this app to allow me to see things (on four different iPhones) for more than a week or so. I have to continually close out the app and re-start it on each phone, and it usually happens when I am away, so I cannot re-start things! I have used Manything on one of my iPhones and it has been working flawlessly for close to one year without any re-starts at all! Horrendous is my nicest words for this app! I have given them a chance to improve it but I am about to say goodbye and get real WiFi cameras. Save your money, unless you are home all the time and you like to continually re-start the apps!

Was a great app. Until recently, I loved this app (free version). Although there were a lot of ads, they were not obtrusive. However, Alfred recently started using ads that immediately take control of your entire screen, without the option of canceling out of the ad, forcing you to watch for a full minute, before accessing your security camera. I use this app to monitor a kiln that is firing. There are times when I need to see the kiln temperature immediately. Should these ads continue, I will stop using Alfred and stop recommending the free and paid versions to my friends. Too bad they are ruining a good thing! It is now just another extremely frustrating app and rather than convince me to move to the paid version, it will convince me to delete the app.

Get it working then leave it alone!. Bug fixes are fine but whatever else is being done that has caused the bugs in the first place needs to stop. This app was great when I first got it but the number of times the entire app or separate features have stopped working is becoming an issue. We shouldn't have to babysit the app and have to close and reload it or delete and reinstall it to keep it running properly. When it's running it's really great, simple UI, correct price point for annual use of premium version and all that, but I truly can't imagine that more features and bells and whistles and GKW are in demand vs. a simple, robust app that just keeps working without annoying the crap out of its users. Remember, K I S S. Keep it simple, stupid! Complexity is not your friend. Your customers are.

QLINK Motorola e5+. Ok so my camera is on Motorola e5+ & for some odd reason every week or 2, my camera &/or viewer device screen is only showing black…. But it is actually is still active, like, it still records if there’s motion but it doesn’t notify me or anything…. Like Um, I could be missing very very important stuff… have you guys figured out why this malfunction comes about & also, when are the next Camera features going to be & im sure it’s not going to be soon or too soon, but when are the facial recognition features or the retina scanning features going to be available to the public!!?! Up the price to maybe $6.99/$7.99 tops ud make bookoo bucks!!! 😆😉🤪

Just Amazing!. This is by far the best app I have ever downloaded, I jst recently downloaded it and messed around a little with it to see how it worked and it’s amazing! I have to watch my moms house in a week and my boyfriend works midnights and I hate leaving my animals alone without knowing what’s going on bc I have some anxiety and this app is saving my life, now when I go to my mothers house for a week I’ll be able to check on my animals anytime I want! So thankyou so much for making this app I will be using this app all the time! I’m def getting the premium bc it’s an awesome price for an app this amazing! 5 Stars!!! I would recommend this app to anyone! And I don’t make these kind of reviews very often only when I really find a awesome, well made app like this!

Audio frustration…I hope someone listens….. I’ve been using this app for the better part of a year now, and I have to say for my purposes, it’s AMAZING!!! However, recently I’ve been noticing the audio doesn’t record with the “motion detection” and “moments” video. This is insanely frustrating because the subject of my investigation is aware of the camera and the only “proof” I have in most videos is the audio. Sometimes the sound fluctuates too, like it’s strong then muffled. I’ve emailed customer support for help to no avail which is quite frustrating as well. Also, I saw on some other apps there’s a “sound activated” recording feature….any chance Alfred will add this? AFTER they fix my audio issue first pretty plz! I’m spite of my audio issues I still highly recommend this app :)

Very helpful. I love this app, as I can’t hear well so I can just look at who’s at my door without getting up to see. I also love that it’s free and I can use old phone cameras, which are just gathering dust. I recommend this app service and love the motion sensor ability. Beats spending money on other tech that basically does the same thing. And it records! Not much more I can ask for. I’m thinking of getting premium since it’s working out so well, other than the adds (which I get they need to make money to keep it up). So glad I found this. Will recommend to friends and family.

Great option for places with no Wi-Fi access. I have been looking for something to monitor inside my home while away and haven’t been able to find exactly what I was looking for. There are cellular cameras for outside that I have but didn’t really want to install those types inside. I stumbled across this and just happened to have an extra phone with service on hand for the data (no Wi-Fi, remember). It is exactly what I needed. I can open the app anytime and see the space I wanted inside with basically what I already had on hand. The apps monthly fee is very reasonable and well worth the comfort it gives me! For the same price I can also use my iPad and laptop as cameras. If you have home internet this would be even more convenient. For me not having wifi the phone with its own service has been most useful. Highly recommend.

In love with Alfred. Revised: Originally, it surpassed my expectations and It seemed perfect for keeping an eye on a second home in another state. My neighbor there has it as well, so we watch each other’s houses and use the cameras to their best advantage between the two properties. I can’t believe I can look out my front window there from my house here!! Night vision could be better, but.....ya can’t have everything. Ok... I just dropped a star because the “camera” device keeps going offline. I’m over a thousand miles away, so I can’t possibly check it, which pretty much ruins its effectiveness for many users. My neighbor might figure out the issue ...but.... so far it has done it twice in 3 days...not good. Too much hassle if we can’t solve the problem.

Alfred. I have had several surveillance cams , spy cams and security.. this is by far the best ! It’s clear , discreet , real time, motion detected , storage , can download ! Also I can get 2 views . Front and back with zoom features ! Night vision ( to an extent ).. Walkie talkie, and flashlight . You can’t beat it. I can hook up as many devices and can have more than one account ! The options are unlimited . As I play around with it .. there’s more I learn . I watch my Cars at night and it runs all night plugged in and it runs off if WiFi! And I leave my son in the car while I shop and I get to watch him in his phone and then I watch another view on mine so I feel safer and so does he. Love it! Highly recommend Alfred!

Previously loved; now so unreliable it’s useless. I have been using Alfred camera as both a security camera and a baby monitor for about a year and have loved it BUT over the past few months it has grown to be so unreliable it useless. I’m so disappointed bc this app was really valuable to me and was considering an upgrade 😢. For the camera I use my old iPhone - I have it plugged in to the wall and constantly charging in my home that has WiFi. However, the past couple months the camera only stays “online” for about an hour after I open up the Alfred app on the camera phone. Of course, I’m usually home within the hour it is working... and then when I get to work and check it, it’s already “offline” again. I’m not sure what’s causing this problem; my best theory is that any notification on the camera phone disconnects Alfred or something? Either way I’m at a loss what to do bc I loved this app but it’s basically useless now as it has been months since the camera has stayed connected while I am away from home. Bummer.

Why does an IP camera viewer require an account and to sign in with your google credentials. All the reviews seem to be very good here, but it’s almost as if the same person was writing all of them, and any app that requires you to create an account and use your Google credentials to do it seems highly suspicious to me. I’ve never seen this requirement except on another app which ended up surreptitiously charging me four dollars per camera per month for a service it never gave notification for anything. And none of the review address this issue of requiring your google credentials to log in to an account for IP camera viewer? No one here has even mentioned this, seems crazy to me. I’m still looking for an app that works, but not one that requires to create account giving away your Google credentials or any other credentials.

I love Alred!! It works!. I really love Alfred because it works! I started by using cheap iPhone 5s’s a year ago and it’s worked like magic. I was honestly surprised. The first few months I started I got problems and needed to keep fixing the app but gradually over 6 months the app got better and better and it’s nearly 98% reliable. Now sometimes I can go weeks without touching my iPhone cam and it will let me view and won’t glitch . I can leave my house for weeks and alred will be on. I love how speedy fast the notifications are. Super super super fast. And the quality is amazing. The iPhones have the best cameras in the world so if u buy a really good iPhone like an iPhone 7 or 8 you could get mega HD pics of the suspect even better than professional security cameras I really love Alfred because lately the app has been working flawless and I been getting notifications within a second and it’s stayed online and hasn’t crashed as long as I use guided access really excited to see it advance along the way it only gets better from here. I love Alfred keep it up

Amazing!. I absolutely love this app. A friend recommended it to me when she started using it after someone attempted to break in her door. I use it to monitor my front door, living room, balcony, and I keep a camera on my pets so I can check in on them while I’m at work. So far I’ve only tried the free version, but plan to upgrade to premium and give it a try. We’re going to be out of town soon so I feel better knowing I’ll be able to check on our home while we’re gone. Sure the video quality isn’t the greatest on the free version, but all things considered it does an amazing job. Thanks to the team for making such a wonderful app.

Busted update not working on cellular. I have a premium subscription and recently updated the app to view my cameras, now the app won’t load, connect to the cameras, or view events unless my iPhone 11 is on wifi. The app keeps timing out with an error that there is no internet connection when on cellular. I even tried turning off LTE, resetting network settings, updating iOS, and reinstalling the Alfred app a few times, but no luck. Even if I am in the app looking at the camera or events then disconnect wifi, it drops the connection immediately. All other apps I have that need internet work with no problem without wifi. Also trying to turn off notifications on a specific camera won’t stick. Once you leave the settings screen it turns itself back on.

Alfred = Peace of Mind. What a GREAT app!!! Thank you very much Kim Komando for mentioning it! We have a security system, but no cameras. We also had a spare iPad and smartphone. We established eyes on 2 levels of our home in no time!!! While we were away for 3 mos, we could check on our home instead of asking daughters to do so. For ABSOLUTELY NO COST, it easily reduced the amount of worry and angst for us as well as inconvenience to our girls. This is a MUST HAVE app for anyone who wants to remotely look in on your home, pet, child, etc!!! Turning a smartphone into a security camera seems much smarter and economical than trading it in for next to nothing when you upgrade your phone!

Best cctv spare phone app. I love this app. It does not lag at all. When I say not at all I mean it’s two time video and audio. All the others I tried on iPhones have a few second delay among many other issues but Alfred is the best by far. It offers everything I need or want including notifications and motion detection as well as real time video and audio. I only have one small teeny tiny complaint that I wish would be available. I would love to see the battery life on my viewing screen of the phone that I’m using for a camera just incase I don’t have a charger hooked up. Other than that flush all the others bc this ones the best. To the developers thank you so much for a great free app not to even mention the affordable upgrades with even more options. Keep up the great work!!!!

I love this app! One hundred percent love it. All around!. I have used this app for over two years now. Being a lower income single parent, it has always been a struggle working and doing daily tasks outside the home bc I have five children under seventeen years old. Oldest full time home is 13. Unfortunately times are not like they were thirty fourty years ago when you didn’t have to worry so much. But nowadays you have to be very careful whom you let your children go around and who you let into your home. I found Alfred camera after a google search. It’s only a few bucks which is great! And also. I love how you can use old cell phones to set up as cameras. You don’t get 360• angle view. But you can switch from front to back camera very easily and quickly so if you keep your phone / camera up in a corner of the ceiling, it is easy to get a view of the entire room. And the image is very clear. I don’t think you can go wrong using Alfred camera whatsoever. And I thank you all for such an amazing app that has helped ease my worries by a ton, which makes my days away from home so much less worrisome and that alone is worth more than words can say in this fast review. But Ty again for an awesome easy and affordable app!

High quality app! 5 stars. Ok first off to all you people that can’t describe anything in life without any other word besides “amazing” just lose yourself and get some vocabulary skills! This app is definitely the best one for a security app to use with an old WiFi cell phone. I was using the presence app in the past which crashed every 5 mins and had to reset it. This one so far is flawless. It’s still connected after a week. I love the ability to be able to talk to people when they are in your house. This one is the top one to download! 5 stars. It’s not “omg amazing”. Christ I read that stupid overused word by you teens on here 12 reviews in a row. Knock it off.

Good, except it fails at random. UPDATE: The developer seems to blankety reply with this copy/paste response that is below. My network is fine, I’ve been testing it and have no problems with anything else. I am very careful to not hit the home button or anything, and I’ve tried both with and without using that power saving lock button. It works for a few hours, and at random the app stops broadcasting with no error on either end - the camera phone still thinks that it’s working as far as I can tell, it is no crashed or anything. If you’re going to reply, please read the whole review properly - docking another star. ORIGINAL: I have an old iPhone 4s setup as a camera. It is freshly factory reset, cellular turned off (WiFi only), nothing else running on it, a perfect WiFi connection, etc. This app stops broadcasting every so often, at least twice a day. The app is not crashing, and my internet connection/WiFi is perfect. When I go to the 4s, the app is still running and has no indication that it has failed... but it is not broadcasting. Restarting the app fixes it, but I’m not home all the time so this isn’t a good solution. My wife and I both watch the camera from time to time (watching our new dog). She has her own account that I share the camera to. We’re not able to view it at the same time. I was thinking of purchasing premium, but I don’t think I want to invest in this.

Love this app and service!. I haven’t had hardly any trouble with the app or the service. The only thing I wish it did was allow you to share cameras and give those you share cameras with full admin control over said cameras. So, if my wife is annoyed by constant notifications she has to text me and turn off the motion detection. Also, I never get reminders to turn the motion detection on or iff depending on whether I am home or not. I thought that was a free feature. Over all, I am super satisfied with Alfred. One question—why the app name change?!? DIY CCTV is really boring branding TBH. One more thing—there needs to be a way to turn of “phone is not charging” warnings. I am getting them repeatedly and all of them are not necessary. I need one and then I need another when the battery gets to 50 another at 20 and maybe start to nag me at 5%. But there is no reason to bug me every minute or so when I know the phone is plugged in and I am at work. Plus it usually stops charging until the battery level actually drops. Then it starts charging again.

Useful. I love the app and the price, and would give it five stars except.... in continuous monitoring, even from the computer, it “lost connection”. I have to close the app or browser, then restart to be able to view. Also, we used it while we are vacation to keep an eye on things at home and after the first day, it was “offline”, “camera not available “. When we returned home, the app needed an update to keep working. I have it set to receive automatic updates, but that did not work. Suggestion for that would be to allow the app to work regardless of the update, unless it is an actual security update. Overall, it is a good app.

Good but buggy. Don’t know what the issue is but has a problem often where you can connect to camera even if WiFi on both end but as soon as I get home and I’m on the same network it’s fine. Then other days it runs perfectly without issues so don’t know and won’t upgrade from the free version until I see stability improvements. No use in paying for a service, if you can’t live view while away from home. This issue has persisted for nearly a year now. I have used multiple platforms and even web version.

Great app. I needed to leave for a last minute trip so I didn’t have the time to wait on an order so I came across this app which allowed me to use my old iPhones security cameras. So I installed the app on both iPhones and it worked just the way it says! Very happy due to the fact setup was easy and under 5minutes!! I didn’t have to pay for anything extra because I just needed it to monitor things so I’m satisfied with that! Saved me time and money! Very happy customer! Will definitely recommend!!.

It’s not as good as it was. I have used this app off and on for almost two years. I don’t like the recent upgrades that limited the amount of time movement is recorded. The app used to stop recording at a certain point and pick right back up because it defected there was still movement, not any more. The kids can leave the view of the camera, it stops recording but does not pick them back up when the walk back into the view of the camera, they made it through the living room into the kitchen. Both rooms are in the view. This was not just once, it’s a lot. Many times it will pick up a person walking in OR out of view BUT it dies not catch both. I have Alfred set up on a tablet that is next to the router and always plugged in charging, I’m not sure why I get logged out so often and it takes forever to get logged back in. The Alfred app was better and more reliable before all of these changes. I purchased a one month subscription to the premium for $3.99 to see if that makes a difference and restores the dependability of the app, so far I have to say it does Not. I have a 45 second recording, when I watched it, I found that it only recorded movement for 15 seconds, the rest of the recording was still frame, no movement at all. If I do not see dependability like it used to have I will start looking for another security app and cancel my premium subscription to Alfred. I am crossing my fingers, I liked the Alfred app.

Good Ole Alfred!. I had previously paid for a year of the Premium for only $25. Since then I have purchased a Blink, Samsung & some other cheap China made P.O.S. For which I am so disappointed in.. so I was searching again for a good security camera and my Partner suggested “Alfred” again and I all the sudden felt so stupid for spending all the money on those other cameras. As long as you have a graveyard of old but functional phones like I do.. you can have yourself a quality CCTV Security System but with sound and HD! Obviously the best choice for interior security unless you can weather proof and consistently power a phone for outdoor..?! Thanks Alfred!

Some Issues to Report. I’m having some issues that are extremely frustrating. When I first started using the app, it worked great. Recently though, when I open the app on my “viewing” iPhone, and hit either of the two cameras I want to check, it says connected but it’s not. No picture or sound pulls up and I can close the app several times and re-open and nothing changes. Only when I reset my iPhone can I see the video and only once. If I close the app down, I can’t view it anymore when I log back in. Thought this was just my iPhone so I tested my wife’s iPhone and it’s doing the same thing on hers. Not sure what’s up and why it stopped being reliable. I’m currently on an iPhone 8 Plus with t mobile.

Life Saver!. I will forever be grateful for this app. Was staying at an AIRBNB and was a little skeptical about people we were renting from. I set up camera to monitor the room while I was out. While out, the alarm sounded on my phone letting me know there was movement in the room. I watched live footage of what was taking place and it was my girlfriend. I watched her for a few minutes when all of the sudden she took a couple steps backwards and dropped to the floor. I got on my Harley and rushed there. I was able to perform mouth to mouth and CPR on her till paramedics arrived. This app saved her life. If it weren’t for this app, she wouldn’t have made it.

Disappointing. This app is completely unfunctional, I have only had it work once and I’ve tried repeatedly to do all the instructions to update it and all the problem solving that it tells you to do. All the solutions and trouble shooting it gives , I’ve done. It still won’t work which has now been close to 15 to 20 times. It continues to not function. Which is funny to me because if I can’t see the demo version function properly why in the world would I pay for it. I don’t understand how this app has 71,000 people saying that it’s a five star ; my honest opinion is that their bought reviews because this never seems to work. As we’ve now seen lots of companies are getting away with buying reviews, so I want surprises this was any exception.

Negative reviews are user error.. I needed a security camera up quickly to record possible issues on my property. Found this app and honestly didn’t expect much. I was SO pleasantly surprised. It honestly works as good if not better than $900 cameras I’ve had in retail locations. I immediately upgraded to premium for the extra features with no ads and it’s flawless. You get a short recording after movement but from what I understand if you have ‘continuous recording’ on, it will save an 8 hour loop onto your phone in the case that you need to have the longer video. You can then reference the shorter clips for time stamps. Any issues people are having are 100% device, settings, or network related. Truly can’t say enough how happy I am that this works the way it does. Great work guys!

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. FIND ANOTHER CAMERA APP.. I’ve used this app for a while, much longer than I should have. It CONSTANTLY has connectivity issues and the camera goes offline. This completely defeats the purpose of a camera, since you can’t get it back online remotely. They’ve told me before it was likely a network issue, but our network is perfectly fine, and strong. Currently, within the app, when checking the “camera status,” it says it’s online, “signed in successfully,” and “everything looks great!” However, the camera is NOT active. It is showing “This camera is offline.” It’s been doing this specifically for about a week now. When I got home from my last shift, I reset/turned off the app and phone, then set it all back up. It was working. Even recorded a couple motion clips (which usually NEVER works for more than a day after fixing everything). Then I get to work and the first time I try viewing the camera... this BS. I’m done with this app. I’m going back to Manything. I don’t remember near as many complications with that app. And it certainly recorded clips better, including just “sound” clips (if it’s dark and can’t pick up video). This is ridiculous and I feel like they’ve just become money hungry over time, making less options available for the free version, and more crashing.

Read reviews before buying.. I downloaded the app on Sunday for a few hours. And after a couple of hours the phone i was using for the camera got extremely hot. On top of the free version of the app. It showed a low quality mode and hd was available after the upgrade was purchased. I updated both phones to the latest ios and upgraded the app like it suggested to get the hd quality. The hd quality ended up not being much better than the low quality. I even moved my phone to a different spots farther away and closer and it still had terrible quality. Save the few dollars and invest in an actual security system. Ontop of this all i already checked to make sure both video qualities were hd and the same. The developers emailed me back a few days later acting like im a idiot. I will not recommend any of there apps or anything they have partners with to anyone except the garbage company cause thats exactly where they belong. As for the fellow reviewers you cant say that something thats constantly running does not create any heat. So you all are b-sers

Great idea, but.... ...30 seconds of movement is most often broken up into 3-6 different videos. It’s never consistent. A 30 second video which is rare is the most you’ll get out of 1 motion detection. When it’s broken up into several different videos it omits a significant amount of time, thus losing valuable audio. With audio every second counts. Unfortunately, a very damning phone conversation was missing a whole lot of audio. Is it worthless? Not entirely. Could it be better? Absolutely! Do the faults improve with a paid subscription? I’m not going to risk finding out. Also, purchasing a paid version would definitely blow my cover. Is there another app like this? Not that I can find. Not with the high amount of reviews that Alfred has. To me a high amount of views shows popularity and promise. I also see that the developer responds to poor reviews. I appreciate that kind of accountability.

Was Working great. It’s simple enough. I’m not sure why but my T-Mobile WiFi kicked it off about 15 minutes after I subscribed. Then I got it working again. Then I shut the camera off for a few days because I didn’t need it. Then when I turned it back on it worked fine, but this time my TV got kicked off of T-Mobile’s internet Wi-Fi . Then when I tried to use the T-Mobile internet app to see what was going on everything shut down. Then nothing was working until I completely reset everything after deleting the Alfred apps. I’m assuming T-Mobile did it because when I went to reset my TV, my network was like 5 from the top with the box sitting 10 feet from the TV when normally it is first at the top, but regardless I can’t have everything shutting down.

Great for pet sitting. I love this app so much and am so happy I found it. My wife and I were wondering about the best way to keep an eye on our lil puppy while we’re at work and make sure he’s not barking or whining all day. We were looking into buying cameras or expensive pet monitoring equipment when we found the app Alfred. We were able to use our tablets we normally leave at home to easily monitor our little pup for free. We can always see how he is doing from our phones and even talk through the microphone to calm him down or just to check in before we get home. The night mode feature helps us tremendously since he is a black lab and hard to spot sometimes. The app also lets us swap through accounts easily to switch our viewing tablets and lets us know our battery percentage at all times. I’d highly recommend Alfred to anyone with a need to monitor their pet. Also, the motion detection feature along with instant notifications to your phone make it a solid choice for baby and house monitoring as well.

Light sensitive. I have had this app for quite a while and it used to work OK.I use it as a security camera out my front window. It definitely is a plus with the motion detection, recording who is coming to my front door when I am not home. Although I have one big problem. It has always been light sensitive but for some reason lately No matter if I have The sensitivity on high or low, all day long up to 60 times in just a few minutes it is recording the light changes on the outside constantly. It was not that bad before but now it is super bad and irritating because I have to go through all of the videos to see if anyone came to my door with all the false recordings. I still like the app but I don’t know what to do about this major problem that is so irritating.

Frustrating. This app gives you a wireless, remote view through most old iOS phones. It is able to record on motion and save to a remote location for later viewing. That is the positive. Unless you are able and willing to check that the camera/phone is constantly connecting properly, it is nearly useless. If you expect this to be your constant, reliable second set of eyes, don’t waste your money. The three times in the last month that I really needed to review footage of a recording, the camera had disconnected itself. And when you are off site, you can’t reconnect. It wasn’t till a day or so had past that I had any knowledge that it wasn’t recording. You have to physically go and turn the app back on on the camera device when you lose connection. Really hard to do when you aren’t there to reconnect it. Until this app is able to remotely reconnect, or at the very least alert you when the app is disconnected, I won’t be using it anymore.

Impressive. I have been terrified lately since we noticed someone was trying to open our door so I wanted to get a security camera and alarms for our home. But they are kind of pricey all together. And luckily I found this app and was able to put my old phones to use. Although it is slow to connect sometimes and notifies late, still thankful for all the features of it for only a few bucks for their premium. I was hoping that the delay would be eliminated once I've purchased the premium but it didn't. It still takes a few seconds to open up and view my camera. And I wish it has an alarm sound so if you caught someone then you can play it from the viewer's device to scare that person.

Love it but settings are missing!. The current version of the app has no settings option for iOS. As in, I am trying to setup this app for integration into my Google Home/Assistant. The Alfred forum gives instructions on how. Yet when I search for settings in the app (not the camera settings for the remote device), there is not any button. I click the top left icon of the home and it opens the leftside nav menu, but there are NO SETTINGS features. Sad. Please fix this. Please make it easier to use with Google Assistant. Thanks! Please make landscape view for iPad available for Viewer. I can only see thea app in portrait mode tag this time.

No upgrade. I started using this APP recently per the suggestion of a friend. Almost immediately I wanted to zoom in on the picture to see more clearly. I was notified that I needed to upgrade in order to have this feature. I paid for the upgrade a few days ago and I am still getting the same message. I have contacted the company only to get an auto response that pretty much says we will get back to you. I don’t appreciate paying for service that I am NOT receiving! I am sure and certain they wouldn’t give me anything for free. You got your money, now provide me with the feature I paid for. Additionally, I would appreciate a credit for the days this feature did not work after my payment was received.

Awesome!!!. This app is amazing. Unlimited cameras, and a week of cloud storage all for the minor inconvenience of ads. There are a lot of ads, but to be fair, no other app offers everything they do for free. AND!! It’s pretty cheap to get rid of the ads. As far as value, Alfred offers the most. It wouldn’t work when I had CenturyLink internet, because they interfere with a majority of the surveillance apps. Wish List: 1. I would like to be able to delete a video that’s on my screen. It’s really frustrating to have to back out a couple screens, click delete, select the one I want to delete (which is hard, since an ad has popped up, so I can’t tell which one I wanted to delete now), then click delete again, then done. Way too many steps to delete videos. 2. Fix the sensitivity. Low and medium barely ever pick up anything, while High picks up so much that I can’t tell if anything really happened. 3. I REALLY wish this app worked with the older Apple devices. I think they are back at iOS 6? PLEEEEEEEASE!!! 4. On the iPad to have 2 rows in portrait and 3 rows in landscape on the home page. It would be great if all of my cameras could show up on one page.

Excellent!. It has very little impact on your wallet, for the amount of convenience and capability it provides for safety and reliability of simply being able to use any device (phone) as a camera. As a 𝙎ingle 𝙋arent myself, I have used this app from the time my daughter was less then a year old and shes 3 now. Simply having the ability to keep an eye on your little one when you don’t want to risk walking in and they wake up. But you don’t know if they’re actually napping this bridges that gap. To say the least, you have anyone watch your child(or children) this is the peace of mind that you can count on.

No longer that great. This app has increasingly gotten more unreliable with every update. You can’t lock the screen on your camera device or else the app quits working and then you can’t view from your viewing device, which completely defeats the purpose because without screen security all someone has to do is pick up the camera device and they can do whatever they want to. Not only this but the connection from camera and viewer has gotten unreliable, telling you the camera is offline when it’s not, telling you it can’t access the settings at times, and a whole host of other issues. Since adding all the subscription nonsense which NO ONE LIKES BTW this app has turned to garbage like all the others trying to make ushers rent their apps on their phones.

Stops Recording Way Too Early. The app is ok but kind of useless as it stops recording after it’s triggered by motion way way to early to be effective at any kind of surveillance. There should be an option for the user to choose minimum recording time after motion triggers start recording or at very least, let it keep recording for 30 seconds after the last motion was detected. Reply to developer: Notifications are great but when you get 900 notifications in 5 minutes, they become pointless. For security, having a longer recording of things that may be suspect is far far more important than having a ton of notifications. Can the cops use notifications to catch a bad guy who broke in to your house? Nope! But they can use a video of the offender or crime! If the video is cut extremely short and doesn’t capture most of the criminal activity, then what good is the app doing for security! You have to understand priorities of law, especially when you market this app as a security monitor. Point being, notifications are far far less important than actual video of potential offenders/offenses. Especially when 90% or more of the notifications are false alarms triggered by birds or passing cars etc.

Trying it out for a few months (Free Version). I’ve been trying the free version for a few months and I am trying to decide if I should upgrade. The HD video sounds good but I wish there were more features like zooming, continuous recording or different color filters. I hope it’s something that can be added in the future. Otherwise the app does what it’s supposed to. I use an iPhone 5 and the camera is decent. I use the low light filter but it’s grainy (might be due to the free version). I like that they have a battery save option. Wish I could use it without having to create a gmail account. Sometimes the motion sensor goes off but there’s nothing there and sometimes when I know people are passing by it won’t go off, don’t know why that is. I’ll keep testing it out.

This app possibly just saved my life. I downloaded this App last night after a few days of dealing with an unpredictable ex boyfriend who has aggressive tendencies and attempted to break into my apartment earlier this week. Last night I was so tired because I hadn’t been able to sleep since I was afraid that he might show up and try again. I thought being able to have sight on my front door while I was in my bedroom might help give me peace of mind and help me sleep. When I woke up this morning I was so relieved that nothing had happened overnight and I got up to go to the bathroom, thankfully I had my phone with me. While in the bathroom I heard some fidgeting at the door and for a second thought I was loosing my mind. I shut and locked the bathroom door and immediately opened up the app only to see my ex breaking through my front door. I was able to call 911 and get help before anything bad happened and the app caught and recorded the whole thing! Never in my life would I have thought I’d be in a situation like this and I am beyond grateful for this app! Thank You!

Wish I found the Alfred App sooner!!. Man, have I been missing out and paying subscriptions I never needed to pay. This app was made for me since I have 2 phones for work and personal use, so I keep one at home as the camera and the other with me and I have no complaints. I could care less if it was crap quality I’d still rate 5 stars. And the quality is good. Wouldn’t change anything I can think of. I’ll be a customer as long as they don’t get to the point of selfishness and not thinking about the customer. So far so good. Would recommend 100%

Very Buggy. Although still a useful app overall, it has several bugs that can be super annoying depending on your use case. The first one I experienced is related to the night vision mode or whatever it’s called. When turned on in combination with motion detection, my camera phone constantly changes from night vision on to off and vice versa for no reason and this triggers a motion detection and thus notification to me. This doesn’t happen due to change in light, it simply does it at a regular interval of 10 min or so even in a pitch black room. So I turned off the night vision thing since it wasn’t that great anyways and it fixed that issue. Now I have a new issue where the app changes my camera phone orientation for no reason every hour. I have the phone laying on its side for no reason the app keeps flipping it to portrait mode, thus triggering another motion detection and notifying me of it. Even locking my phones orientation doesn’t help since the app has its own determination of this setting. So basically if you want to use motion detection you can’t use night mode or rely on the orientation to stay without getting useless notifications about nonexistent motion. Pretty annoying.

In no way dependable for paid/free service. One star because the one thing this app is supposed to do, it can’t. If you depend on this to monitor anything while away, don’t bother. This app is great if you’re constantly home and can be repeatedly reconnecting the camera device to the app, otherwise it’s totally pointless. I’ve gone through all of the suggested steps to improve stability of connection and despite having zero issues with anything on my end, it won’t stay connected for more than several hours at best. This means I get recordings of 1/3 of the time I’m away from home. I did pay thinking maybe the paid version would somehow be more secure, and it absolute is not. Serious shame because when working properly the app is great and has potential- but this issue has been around for as long the app (this was my third attempt using this app). TLDR- Don’t bother unless playing around with it for free.

An A+ DIY alternative to costly paid services. I have a small shop with limited hours. I can now check on the space and inventory using Alfred. Sure there are ads, but they are a small inconvenience for simple security. You can have multiple camera points. I have three old phones with working cameras and wifi. Rather than send the phones to recycling I repurposed them - DIY security cams. The Alfred site stores the moments the phones record for only a limited time, so you must take an active part in the surveillance and review any recordings. Another plus is that you can speak through the system. I've had a non-surveillance opportunity to use Alfred to talk to a family member when they were picking something up from the shop, and I was at home.

Don’t waste your time.... Biggest waste of time and effort! Refused to link to my Gmail account and then it wouldn’t let me sign out and try a different gmail account! If I have to delete an app and reinstall it in this day and age that is ridiculous! Won’t bother with it again!

Works Perfectly for me. Just started using Alfred as a Skype replacement for animal monitoring. Works like a charm. Easy to setup, and it just worked like they said it would. Great to be able to turn on camera light when I need to. Awesome App.....

Overheating. I have used an old iPhone 5 twice, but each time it overheats and the battery swells, and I am getting a second replacement battery. Also it stopped working while I was on my 1 week holiday. The program did not manage thermals well, despite the energy saver mode being activated it doesn’t turn off the screen completely.

Cool app.. Definitely does what we need and it works very well.

Manefield. Excellent platform and so simple to set up and control. But most of all it is complemented with the exact functions it requires to be an effective useful system just as much as any other standard CCTV system.

AWESOMELY DEVASTATING. So Ned was showing a fair bit back then and never called first. He also wasn’t exactly heavy fingered and when he wasn’t sleeping he was pinching something to trade for a single of the uptown the old fashioned way - Warrick Farm. I noticed one afternoon a few things were on annual leave and considering it was April I set up Alfred to meet Ned and see for myself. It turns out the main character destined to meet old Alfie was my missus, in fact I never actually saw old Ned again. I wonder what he’s doing these days.

Apps that offers a free version and is still really good!!. It's enough for free use and you know it works :) If I want extra functions I don't actually mind paying because the program still offers the basic needs of the app ♡ I highly appreciate this... More apps should do this :)

WOrKed. I had iphone 10, two of them, i had to reload the app after everything was set up as the viewer iphone was not loading the camera 100% it would load a few % then jam. There was an image and recordings on the other iphone. Once closing both the apps it worked good. Amazing this is right here with a phone i left neglected for ages with no use and suddenly i can do all this without buying a new cameras. Looking forward to experimenting more.

So far, so good. I very quickly decided to get the premium package as I have someone who keeps entering my place, using my washer and dryer without my permission… Now I’m going to catch them and confront them. My only concern is it seems to chew the battery faster than it charges from my connected computer port. guess I’m going to have to figure out how to get a dedicated charger connected where I don’t actually have a plug to connected LOL thats a tomorrow problem. overall, rather happy with the ability to be able to look at my place when I’m sitting at work

CCTV. What a great app thank to my son for informing me I use up to four cameras and a monitor. You can even use your pc to monitor

Very reliable, face detection and motion sensing notifications. I've been using the Alfred premium version for approx 12 months now utilising 3 old iPhones and an iPad as the camera's - overall an excellent app, has been reliable and mostly easy to use.

Best monitor app ever!. This app was for our first 6 months old child. After test and trial with many apps as suggested in various sites, this must have to be the best! No BS solid functional app with min issues. Try it out! Highly recommended!

You guys should download it, all you need is to do is sign in and then, get 2 phones, and with the 2 phone you have to log in with the same email, and you have to allow the camera and microphone then done! Aggressively tracks user. This app is constantly sharing information with: Yahoo! Google Mopub Nexage This unexpectedly chews through the internet date on your viewer phone. App does not work with VPN. Other than that app work quite well.

Best free baby monitor app ever. Have been using this app for years between an iPhone and iPad. Perfect those times when one of the kids has fallen asleep somewhere other than their bed. Always has been reliable, never had an issue.

Good but... Having paid for the premium subscription and realising the auto record feature misses A LOT, I’m not too happy. It is a good app but that’s my one complaint, could be improved upon.

This is a fantastic app!. I’ve been using ‘Alfred’, for a couple of years now. I’ve never had any issue with it to be honest. For the free version, it does exactly what you need it to do. To the review complaining about it not working at night, I’ve also never had a problem. If you adjust the setting to night or whatever that function is, I’ll agree it’s not brilliantly clear, but you can still hear and see picture..(obviously not like a video if it were captured in natural day light). I’ve had it set up in my room, hidden, & I’ve managed to catch people in the act in my room. Well done to the developers ! Anything negative from anyone tells me they perhaps need to actually install outdoor cameras etc.... installed professionally and need to spend hundreds of dollars). Don’t diss the app! 100% 5 STARS!

Definitely Worthwhile getting, some room for improvement.. This is a really good app simply does what it says. And when everything is working well it would be 4 1/2 five stars in my opinion. I have had a lot of trouble with the Internet viewing on the PC which is very sporadic, but I don’t think it’s my Internet connection is something not quite right there. However phone to phone has been pretty flawless.

This is fantastic!. I was actively looking for a security camera to put up till I stumbled across this. Easy to set up (once you’ve created a gmail account) and works very well! It’s got a 1-2 second delay but beats paying over $100 for a security camera. Very satisfied!

Amazing. This app is fantastic. I’d purchased a new phone and both new and old phones were the same make (apple) and both signed in under the same iCloud account so all I had to do was set up one phone and other was automatically set. I wanted my new phone to be the monitor so I went into settings in Alfred on that phone and chose that option and went in with the other phone and chose camera. Bam, I was using it immediately. When my nieces come for a visit or sleep over I can use the phones as a nanny cam. I open the Alfred app on both phones and place my old phone as the camera in the bedroom and can watch, listen and even record from a other room.

Rubbish. So sick of having to log in and out just to keep it working. Seems incapable of just setting and just being able to forget about it. Open and close app. Turn phones off and on. Too time consuming. Every time something happens and I need to go back and view events, my cameras show “wake camera up” constantly.

Nice app. I can see what’s going on in the back while I’m up at the front of the house. Just what I was looking for!

Way too many pop ups!!. The app works as advertised but if you don’t subscribe, be prepared for many pop up ads. Some make you wait almost 30 seconds before you can continue or back out of a menu. I had enough after a few hours of playing around with it. Your experience may be different but I have little patience with long pop ups.

Added More Ads. It was perfectly fine with the banner ads but recently they added full page pop up ads. Although I like the ability to see what my dog is up to while we’re out, adding so many intrusive ads steers me in the direction to delete the app, not pay for a monthly subscription.

Cool app but 360p when viewing from LTE?. I decided to upgrade to paid member but will be cancelling. I can view in 720p fine when viewing from wifi but when I’m away from home it says connection not fast enough. Completely useless. EDIT 4: On the plus side, the app now works for the most part. There are currently four main issues, but basically it's relatively stable. Two of these issues have been present for years, while the other two are new. The issues are: 1. The automatic recording. You cannot turn it off, and it's not accurate. It pops up while I'm watching, and I can't turn it into manual recording until there's a point where it's not detecting anything anymore. Even worse, it'll falsely state that it's recording even when it's actually not. For example, someone will walk to a door, open it and then walk downstairs. The app will say that it's recording until after they disappear down the stairs, but in reality the recording stopped after they opened the door. That's around 5 seconds (or more) that was lost, which could be valuable time depending on what (or who) you're wanting to capture. 2. The motion detection and auto recording are both unreliable. Sometimes it will capture someone in poor lighting conditions erratically moving (or standing still) across the entire room. Other times, it'll stop recording halfway while they're steadily walking across a well-lit room. Why they programmed the automatic recording to sometimes stop before the 30 second limit is beyond me, especially when it's even stopped after only 5 or 10 seconds. Why not just record the whole 30 seconds every time, just in case? 3. A newer update has made it frustrating to watch while not on wifi. Previously, if the connection had a hiccup then the app would automatically refresh the feed. Now, a pop-up will appear and the feed will only refresh after you press on the confirmation. Why is this a feature? Why must I be glued to my phone? 4. 2 minute unskippable ads. Enough said. Anyway; the downside? The app is ****ing useless. Why? Because they're phasing out every phone I own with the exception of my current phone that I'm...currently using...which is the iPhone 12 Pro. They want you to either buy their security camera or use a newer phone, both of which defeat the entire point in this app. Or at least what this app was originally supposed to be. At this point, it'd be both better and cheaper to just buy an actual indoor camera instead. Unless you're the type who buys a new phone every year, you should go do that. ...Actually, you should also do that anyway because if you can afford to spend $1,000's for a new phone then you could certainly spend a $100 (or less) on a nice security camera instead of this app. Just sayin'. EDIT 3: Currently entirely useless. Gives me an error whenever I load the app, and if I can somehow manage to get to the event page no video will load. Even if it did work, I'm still annoyed because they keep cutting support for older phones. Wasn't that the point of the whole app in the first place? Or does it not matter anymore since they're now pushing their new product? EDIT 2: Going to take another star off for a creepy pop-up. It told me that they needed ads to keep the app free and asked me to click "allow" after I see the next pop-up, but in reality they want to track me across multiple apps. It's incredibly misleading and rather unnerving. EDIT 1: It used to be pretty on point, but fairly recently it went downhill. Possibly because it's now brighter outside so the light or any flashlights isn't used in the morning. This app almost only works in a very bright room, or with a bright flashlight in a very dark room. That's it. Even worse, if it actually DOES manage to detect someone, it'll stop recording after a few seconds...even if the person is moving or is actually /approaching/ the camera. I'm not going to pay $40 just to see if it fixes the problem. Even if it DID fix the problem; if it was a one-time fee, then maybe I would, but not $40 per year. The only reason I'm not rating it lower is because the streaming/recording feature works great. The problem is that I don't have the time or energy to monitor it 24/7. That's what the app is supposed to be for.

The absolute WORST. One day it works, the next day it cuts out on you. One day the “low light” filter works, the next day it doesn’t. I wouldn’t buy the upgrade if they paid me. I cannot trust this app with my baby or my property. Garbage. Thanks for frustrating the crap out of me.

Demands for mic. Alfred is absolutely amazing! That aside, it’s pretty darn disturbing how much it demands for microphone access even though I have never once used it.

Home monitoring. It’s easy to setup. I’ll try more to check the functionalities.

Alfred home. Used this app awhile ago while leaving our dog home alone , and while selling our home. Lost the app awhile back when getting a new phone . Now I’ve reinstated it to watch the new cat! Works well .

Pretty happy with my purchase!. Ordered 6 Cameras for my store and I’m happy with my purchase the only thing I would complain about is the cord isn’t long enough you have to have extension cords on hand and also you have to buy a micro mini SD card if you want to save any video clips but it does save it on your phone for 7 days and then everything will get deleted after that time frame. The setup is pretty simple and easy to do even if your technologically challenged. Once you have it connected and installed properly on your phone or whatever you are using, you can buy the premium plan if you don’t want to watch ADS popping up every time you switch outta the camera(s) or you don’t want the cameras watermark and a bunch of other things. Anyways, thank you! 😁😁😁

No red marks for continuous recording. I’ve recorded myself with continuous recording but there are no red lines showing where something has been recorded

No multiple viewers???. Why limit the feed to one viewer, bought the premium package thinking it would work great for our Bunny Hut watching but only one viewer at a time allowed, pls fix this

Disappointed. I downloaded the apps for both my old & new phones. The idea is probably good but doesn’t connect with my viewing phone TILL I take out a subscription. At first I refused to believe that this doesn’t happen with repeated attempts to pair up each phone it doesn’t work without the subscription. Not sure I want to be pulled baited into a purchase that may not work out for me. No thanks. Tom

Shame, I feel it’s these giant full screen ads that have caused it.Hunting for alternative Update: Finally loads back in. These newly implemented full screen ads are a disgusting addition. Would happily pay a one time fee, especially since I have no need for the cloud, but never a subscription. Have now ordered a remote wifi accessed camera to replace older phone and this application as a direct result of the obnoxious advertising methods in-app. Shame really, previous apps were at least not function-killing.

No alarms. I don’t receive alarms anymore but motion detection and push notifications are on

Valuable Medical Tool. I have had epilepsy for 25 years, and most of my seizures occur at night, thus I do not know when I have them all. I have used this (just free version) to record myself sleeping, and when the motion activation is used it begins recording when a seizure happens, providing info I can share with my doctors. I have also mentioned this app to epilepsy groups as a possible aid for others who need help. A downside to the free version is the 30s limit. I have to save 3 or 4 clips and use an editor to make them into 1 continuous video, a minor inconvenience for me anyway. Prior to this app I had no way to know frequently they happened.

Great way to use old phones. This app works good for its purpose. So far I have just messed around with it but sometime I would like to have my cameras monitor some animals around the yard. Nice and simple to set up and I can access my cameras anywhere that I’m connected to the internet.

HomeKit?. It would be really cool if you considered adding HomeKit support, especially now that you are selling your own hardware. The four stars isn’t because you don’t have HomeKit support though, that’s because as amazing as your service is, the App Store privacy policy does divulge that my usage content is linked to my identity. That’s a pretty big no no. I would use your service in place of others more than I do, on more devices than I do, if at the very least what content of mine which is stored on your servers wasn’t also linked to my identity.

Best, easy to setup home security camera out there. First, it's amazing that they allow you one camera completely free, there are no strings attached, there's no free trial that bills you later, none of that. They deserve a big thank you for providing this type of security to anyone with an extra cell phone and wifi. Of course there's ads but how else can they keep it free? The free camera has some restrictions like no zoom, limits on amount of recorded video, amount of concurrent viewers, etc. but in NO way does it take away from your ability to secure your home. There's motion detection, flash, siren, microphone, flip screen, real time notifications, etc. All the stuff you would literally be paying hundreds for going with another security company. The only gripe I have is on Canada's poor conversion on the USD cuz I decided to upgrade to yearly for $29.99 USD and it came to $41.40 CAD. Ouch. The benefits are worth it though and it's still works out to $3.45/month so, meh, now I can have more cameras, better quality, zoom 4x, etc. I really applaud what this company is doing for people's piece of mind.

So slimy!. Open the app, it **immediately** captures your clipboard content! 😡 Also, check out its app privacy labels. They track you across the web and other apps using everything from an identifier to your location! ☣️

I would give a 4.5 If I could.. The app works well but I only have one suggestion, There should be a way to lock your device because even though it may be highly unlikely for an intruder to enter your house, it is still possible. If an intruder enters and finds your device they can take it because it is unlocked. I understand that most people may use an old device as their camera but some people might use a working device that still has their Apple ID or Credit Card information attached. This is my suggestion and I’m not trying to criticize but overall well made app!

Perfect for what I need. I caught my partner cheating on me twice. And this camera app is so great that it works even I lock my homescreen. I wish I could have found this sooner because maybe it wasn’t only two times that my partner cheated with different people and having fun behind my back.

Impossible to install. In my 10 years of using smart phones, I have never found an app that I could not install until now. I must’ve tried at least a dozen times to install Alfred. I am using two iPhones and there is no way I could get it to work. If I could read it at half a star, I would.

Ad Audio Noise Plays Over Live and Recorded Video Sound. When I go to live view or when I view video clips, there is a strange audio track that plays over top of whatever the microphone is picking up. It is the audio for a pop up add that appears occasionally and that also runs in the background that is overriding the microphone and also embedding itself in the audio part of the video clips. Brutal. Zero star rating if it was allowed. The developer has really dropped the ball on this by taking ads to a level where useful functionality of the app is significantly impeded. They have completely eliminated any thoughts I had of changing to the paid version.

Great features, but ads are ridiculous!. This app has all the features that I wanted and much more, and has served me well for about seven months now. The cameras rarely disconnect. However, the reason I am not rating five stars is because recently, the developers have added ridiculous ads that appear every time you watch a clip in the event book or exit the live feed from a camera. These ads can be 1-2 mins in length, without letting you skip or anything. This makes going through my event book a huge pain and it is actually faster to close and reopen the app than to watch the ads. Please fix this, it is completely unreasonable and I have never seen anything like it on any other app before. If it weren’t for all the great features, I would be uninstalling and looking for an alternative.

I spend more time viewing adds than my recordings. I realize that free apps make their money off advertisements but this is RIDICULOUS. If you tap anything at all in this app (want to see any “events”? Open the app? Change a setting? Tap anything at all?), you are shown a LONG ad with no option to skip. So if my camera caught 5 motion-activated recordings, each 5 seconds long, then that means I’m viewing adds for a full minute for every 5 second surveillance clip I watch. No thanks.

Amazing camera and feature loaded. I am so happy with this app. Yes the free version has ads…but don’t all free versions?? I did upgrade to paid because I use it so much . Not glitchy, works 100% of the time. Audio is amazing… very loud and clear. Video is crystal clear. Lots of settings. My only wish would be to have the feature of disabling the low battery notice. Other than that I really couldn’t complain about a thing. The price for the year is excellent value too

Worth it. I hardly ever give five stars I think there’s like one or two other apps I’ve given a five stars too. In my entire life. But this is a good app I love it. One thing you guys should really add. is Motion detection should also be able to set the alarm to go off and have it to where you can have the flash blink when it goes off. And maybe some different alarm tunes you can choose from. So Really I give you a 4.5 but definitely a 5 star, If you can pull this off.

Absolutely the best.. Every other security camera app severely limits your options and abilities, without paying for a subscription. Alfred offers just about everything(Motion-sensor video/image capture, notifications, low light filter, control of smartphones; flashlight, speaker, front and back cameras and ability to save video/image) at the cost of a few unintrusive ads. If you need a home security app for your smartphone, I highly recommend getting Alfred.

Good but needs more work. This app is good but it still needs a bit more work. Cons: *Multiple window view is a must in surveillance. Does not have. *App sometimes doesn't start up correctly or it just takes way too long when you really need to look at your cameras. * Longer recording times would be great. *Seems like it purposely lowers quality on your camera on the free version, forcing you to upgrade. * Doesn't let you save videos or pictures to your phones photo gallery Pros: *Low light is decent not the best but that's not the apps fault. * Instant motion detection notification * Controls are great: flash, low light, 2 way audio, manual recording. * Motion detection sensitivity levels. * Ability to put it on power saving mode that allows the camera to run while the screen is blacked out. *Turn as many smartphones that you have into surveillance cameras. This is incredibly valuable!. I rarely write reviews but this one is a lifesaver. This is so great it’s beyond words. It is so easy to use, yet incredibly functional. The camera is super sensitive and more than I could ask for. You have the option to set sensitivity, so feel free to do so as it suits your needs. Mine is on high and I am getting notified every few minutes and for me right now, more is better. I don’t necessarily need the premium function, but I am so thrilled, I am going to support the devs with a purchase anyway. Amazing app. Thank you!

Camera Revice Crashes. App works great, when it works. Doesn’t do much good when the old device being used for the camera crashes every couple of days randomly so when I hear a noise outside and open my viewing device, it says camera off-line. Go to check the camera and it’s on the home screen with stupid Apple pop-ups about iCloud memory being full (which I have tried turning off in every way possible) and I need to close like six of them before they go away. If something could be written into the program to somehow override apples constant and incessant pop-ups about iCloud storage being full, that would be awesome.

Almost 5 Stars. Can’t seem to get the reminders to turn motion detector on/off when you leave/get home to ever work. Maybe if it was location aware, needs that option in iPhone settings. And the enable camera switch doesn’t seem to work on the viewing phone if you want to turn the camera off when you’re away from it. Other than that it’s great. I have an iPhone 5 as a camera in my apt and when the leasing company has had to send somebody in, I’ve been able to watch them without them knowing!

Fix the update. The newest version of Alfred camera completely mutes the sound you hear after you speak using the walkie talkie button when the audio was working fine you used the walkie talkie. Fix it! It also crashes like crazy and shows the camera as offline when it’s working fine from the host camera Update the updates keep making the motion capture worse and worse. How are you going to capture something or someone leaving but not entering?! Also it’s crazy that even after all the updates you still don’t get a notification that a camera has gone offline.

Dog Nanny. I downloaded the app when my dog was spayed as so I could leave the house for a few minutes while she was resting. The download and setup was extremely easy.I use a Samsung A5 as camera and IPhone 6 as viewer and Apple watch for the motion alerts. It has worked without fail....truly amazing for me as I did this on a whim so I could keep am eye on her. I can even use the walkie talkie so as for her to hear my voice while gone. I did pay for a one month membership and will be renewing and extending as to me it's worth the money. Thank You Alfred!!! My new friend!

Great app!. This is a very good app. I tried four or five others before this, like manything, presence etc... this one work better. There’s only one more thing I think they can make it better, and complete ... And that is to have an alarm that we could have the option to turn off and on, just like the motion detector. The alarm could trigger, once the video has started, thus putting them to flight! Please add the option for an alarm, so it will also serve as a deterrent to keep them from actually taking anything.

Great app. I needed to leave for a last minute trip so I didn’t have the time to wait on an order so I came across this app which allowed me to use my old iPhones security cameras. So I installed the app on both iPhones and it worked just the way it says! Very happy due to the fact setup was easy and under 5minutes!! I didn’t have to pay for anything extra because I just needed it to monitor things so I’m satisfied with that! Saved me time and money! Very happy customer! Will definitely recommend!!.

Beats the standard home security. Very innovative way to have a security type of system. It is not a common camera that sticks out and is obviously recording. Keeps the files that are time stamped for future viewing. Ability to share the camera and it’s content with selected household or individual. Motion and sound activated so not just endless recordings of nothingness. I love technology and this was definitely 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for me!

PRIVACY CONCERN!. Alfred takes video regardless if your camera is set to DISABLED!!! They ignore my feedback! Start documenting by using “screen recording” as I have! I love the app but not that much! Alfred home security will not respond or fix this MAJOR issue! The app will take video regardless if you have the camera disabled! I have tried many different ways of using the app, but to no avail. They absolutely have to know about these privacy breaches. I find it hard to believe if this issue isn’t known to their developers.

Loss in connection once in a while. Not sure if it’s the internet or not. Other devices work fine. I have 3 iPhones connected and one random one will lose connection and if I check back to it in 10-15 mins it will be connected again. Then I get a few error codes. It doesn’t seam to be a smooth system and I paid for the year program which I thought would be better, apparently not. Also if you have the camera set to high sensitivity to motion sensor the camera goes on and off even if there is nothing going on in the room. Not sure if it’s picking up dust or just tweaking out. It’s ok just not reliable.

Great but.... The past 2 days I’ve been trying to log into my account to see my camera and the app just stays on the screen after the logo and says logging in but nothing , then when I get exit and double click I see my cam so I click it to get into the app and it freezes up again . I used this app along time ago and it kept charging my card so I didn’t sign up again for it because when I paid it would keep missing the stuff it didn’t when I didn’t pay , I just use it to make sure no employees are at work and when there gone. Good app but hopefully you guys can fix this glitch or bug .

Awesome back when it worked. I loved this app back in the day when it worked. Then I got a new iPad and I was no longer able to connect a camera to it. Every time I try, it insists it’s already set up and nothing I do fixes the problem. Glad I stopped paying for the service before this and I guess I need to find a new camera app. Also, why doesn’t it have an iPad app? Having to crane your neck when using landscape iPad orientation seems ridiculous for an app that wants money to use the full version. Anyways, I loved it back when it worked but I made the mistake of changing up my iPad and it no longer operates at all

Works great. I started using the ad based model and liked it so much I upgraded to the Pro version. I like how smooth the live playback is and how I can control the camera from my viewer phone/web app. My lone suggestions would be 1) an easier way to export videos (which apparently is due in the next release?) and 2) a way to make motion triggered videos record longer (or even better combine short clips into continuous longer videos so that quick notifications). are preserved.

Doesn’t work. The cameras will work fine for a few hours, but then they randomly stop recording anything with no warning. I have to open the app, stop continuous recording, delete all footage, and restart continuous recording to get it to work again. What’s the point of a security camera if it doesn’t work when you’re not watching it. The support team re-sent me the instructions off their FAQ section when I reached out and I verified I’d done all those things. I also made sure my phone didn’t go into focus mode thinking that was it. It worked overnight for the first time, but then randomly cut out the next evening.

DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR SERVICE. Here’s my reasoning: you cannot cancel the plan after you have purchased a subscription. The app works, don’t get me wrong, but I stopped using the app for months only to find that I was still being charged. Welp there goes my money. If you absolutely need a secure and quick way to monitor your home or family- it’s decent. I had no issues teaching my Spanish speaking mother to use the app which means that it’s simple. Would I recommend this to anyone? No. The practice of not letting your customers cancel a subscription as easy as it was to initialize it, is a scam. These are terrible business practices. In short, think before you buy.

Kills battery constantly goes offline. Used an old 5s, worked great at first, for something unused otherwise at the house. Then it started going offline every few days so that made the program useless, because you want something you set and forget. You’d have to check it every few days and reinitiate the program on the camera device. Found a tutorial that showed how to lock the program which worked a little bit but you still have to update the program as new versions of iOS come out, and even then it would go offline but not as much. Last time I took it down from the mount the battery would die if. It plugged in, so now it’s destroyed the battery life. Useless app destroys battery life. Best to just get a camera system and avoid this.

Horrible...even the paid version!. I have the paid version and I have very good WiFi, good signal and connections (I am a tech person and I totally understand these things!). I cannot get this app to allow me to see things (on four different iPhones) for more than a week or so. I have to continually close out the app and re-start it on each phone, and it usually happens when I am away, so I cannot re-start things! I have used Manything on one of my iPhones and it has been working flawlessly for close to one year without any re-starts at all! Horrendous is my nicest words for this app! I have given them a chance to improve it but I am about to say goodbye and get real WiFi cameras. Save your money, unless you are home all the time and you like to continually re-start the apps!

Gotcha!!. I absolutely LOVE this app and the service they provide! Not to mention how easy it is to set up and use, especially for the price….FREE! I’ve been using it now for years to keep an eye on the “off limits” areas to my kids, (now adult children) around my home. It kept them honest and my home, my belongings, my state of mind safe and sound. I highly recommend this app for anyone, especially those who are on a very tight budget. I give it 5 ⭐️‘s!!!!!! Just missing 1 thing. This app is awesome. Two problems tho. First and most important one is that you can’t push the phone screen save button or whatever it’s called bc it will close the app but the app doesn’t have an option where you need a password to get into it. So if someone picks up the phone and turns on the screen. They see that it’s a recording app that was being used. And lastly and this could be my fault but I think I’ve done everything I can but the camera goes offline Other than that the app is great. Very user friendly. Simple and Hugh quality

Simple yet sophisticated!!. I just want to come right out and say it. This app has been heaven sent!. I needed something quick and easy to use when I was on vacation and it turned into a full fledged love affair lol. The interface is so easy to learn and the features you get even for free are awesome!! I recommend this to anyone if your in the need of a simple but useful security camera. 5/5 stars for sure!

Now working with T-Mobile. iPhone 7+. Only work with WiFi, not with my T-Mobile 4G LTE. Over the phone network, I can't watch camera live streaming, I can only watch the motion event recordings. Disappointed just switched from Verizon. Funny thing is if I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot, the app is just normal! I can see the camera live streaming on Samsung tablet over T-mobile. Hope developer will be able to fix this asap. 9-13 update: Somehow this app has been updated. To my surprise, it works perfectly now with T-mobile 4G LTE. Thank you.

Coolest Little Thing. I pay for monitored security cameras and they have a cool little app with those and that’s tight but they don’t have the options you have with this like, front/back cam and HD zoom, motion recording and if I’m being real, they don’t have iPhone quality cameras either. I’m using an old iPhone 11 for mine and it’s pretty stellar. I just got this so I could check out what one of my pythons is doing when I’m not there (sleeping, the answer is sleeping), but I discovered that it’s pretty cool.

Needs FaceID unlock and automation rules. I use this camera for security when traveling. It works great for that! There are two features that I wish it had. First, I would like the viewer to have FaceID and TouchID unlock so that I could secure it without entering a pin manually. Second, I would like it to be able to arm/disarm when exiting/entering a GPS radius set in the app. That would be much better than doing it every time I go out. If that was too complicated, then at least making it IFFFT compatible to arm/disarm using automation rules would also work. Thanks!

Too many ads, too long. I have used this app many times to view my pets when out of town. Generally it has worked well and I enjoyed using it. However, this last time I used it the length and number of ads that you are forced to watch have rendered it almost useless. Watching the same ad for over 30 secs multiple times just to be able to view a few events is very irritating. While I understand the need for ads in a free app their comes a point at which it is no longer a pleasant experience to use. I will be looking for another solution to view my pets when away.

Using for 5 years!. I have been using this app for 5 years and various old phones. It’s easy to setup and use. One downfall in the last couple of weeks is that I can no longer control my different cameras from my daily devices. When I pull up active cameras at is asking me to add a camera even though the are already added. It forces me to use the web interface (on a computer only) to view and manage my current cameras. What changed?!

Dropped support for iOS 10.. I had been happily using this app on an older iPhone 5 which could only run up through iOS 10.4. Alfred ran with no issue on that version. However somewhere along the line recently a change was made and now Alfred only runs on iOS 11 or later which this phone does not support. Why claim old phones can be used when in fact they can't? Why was support for older iOS versions suddenly dropped?

Not too shabby!. My husband and I both enjoy being able to just quickly log on and check on our home and yard whenever we’re gone plus we love being able to keep a screen on showing the camera views and what’s actually going on in real time! I do recommend going ahead and buying premium access because the hd quality alone is worth it!!

Does NOT work when we need it to.. We have a petty elderly neighbor who unpots and tips over our plant collection when she walks the halls at 4 or 5am. For whatever reason, the Alfred camera works all DAY, but does NOT capture anything after midnight- but that’s when we need it! I’m glad I can get notifications for every stray cat that walks by, but we really needed this to work at NIGHT. We’ve tried using the low light filter, not using the low light filter, and auto. Nothing works late at night. We even test it by walking in front of the camera at night and it doesn’t even register us. So disappointing that it doesn’t work after dark.

Cool use for an old phone. Found a bird nest on my property and thought it might be cool to add another camera onto my home security cameras to watch the bird activity...well as cool as it would have been it would have also been expensive, so being able to repurpose an old iPhone 5 for this temporary project has worked out great thanks to the Alfred App. The motion detector has captured lots of great moments of momma bird feeding her chicks and stores them in a library which I can then choose to save to my device. Great app

Notifications need overhauled. the notifications from this app are annoying to the point of making want to throw my phone at the wall. Every 10 seconds for 15 minutes at least. I’ve had to turn notifications off. I wish you you could set time period for notifications on each camera. You should also be able to set a separate sensitivity for notifications. As a paying user it’s came to be so frustrating I’ve almost installed the app at times the way it makes my phone go off non stop. Good price but man they need to fix notifications.

Tries to force install spyware!. This app works beautifully and does everything I want. But after a few hours of use it gave a FALSE message that my iPhone storage was full and refused to run until I installed a “cleaner app”. Based on the deceptive message that held my camera hostage, I can only assume this additional app Is spyware or ransomeware. Do Not install this app! It shuts down and tries to force you to install unneeded additional software! Highly deceptive!! Developers responded to the above complaint with a form letter that didn’t address any of my concerns. They didn’t even bother to read my complaint and obviously don’t care about their customer’s concerns. Do NOT use this app!!

Does work, but.... I purchased the premium version, no ads but it always wants you to rate it. Even if you already have. Very annoying. I also use an iPhone, and come to find out that you can’t lock the phone if your using the app. Kind of useless for me if you care about the phone. Anyone can grab the phone and do whatever. Won’t be paying for premium again unless these are fixed. Customer service is non existent. Update: customer service did reach out to me. If you have an iPhone, you must enable guided access. Much happier, thanks!

BAD image quality in free version. I’ve used this app for years on my Apple devices. For both cameras and viewers. 3-5yrs ago the image quality in the free version was fairly decent. Although now it seems that the developers have seemingly reduced the image quality (worse at night) to the point that one can hardly tell whether or not something or someone has come into the camera view. The image is so pixelated it appears as if something or someone is moving around when it in fact is only the poor image quality. Not to mention the number of false alerts you receive. Fix these simple issues please for god sake.

It gave me an virus. So I was doing good till I saw my phone it had a virus detection and it said virus alert so I thought it was an app I had that gave me a virus so I deleted some. Then a couple days later I got the virus alert again so I thought it was an app I got that I didn’t delete so I deleted some more. Three days pass and I get it again so I quickly deleted a lot my apps then I found out it was Alfred that was giving me viruses so I undownloaded it from my phone and iPad and then I never ever downloaded it again maybe I will give it an 2 chance but I don’t know if I should give it another chance. Anyway if you can fix this problem thank you I want to use it I just don’t want a virus that’s all hope you can fix it.

Works as advertised. No issues getting this up and running. I had 4 old phones lying around my house. Installed the apps and was up and running in less than an hour (including mounting and placement of the cameras). Only issues I have with it are (1) the ads a kinda intrusive when you’re in the app, but I can live with it, (2) sometimes it tells me an event was recorded but when I go to the Moments I can find them, and (3) the “Motion Detected” alert fires off when the low light filter turns on/off. On overcast days I’m getting alerted 20-30 times a day from that.

Charles. I love this app. We are broke because of the COVID pandemic and subsequent closures. There’s a‘halfway house’ that recently opened up in our quiet little neighborhood and some seriously unsavory characters are walking in and out of the place. Several have looked intently at our home and my wife and children. I recently added two phones/cameras and signs stating that cameras are in use. We feel a bit more secure thanks to your service. We’re very thankful to y’all.

AMAZINg. This app is completely amazing!! I don’t use it as a security camera mainly, but when I’m not around my child I can connect to the camera and see what she’s up to, hear the video she’s playing on her device, randomly check in to see how she’s being treated by others when I’m gone, and to get her attention because she’s young and uses a tablet and I can’t call her so I can talk to her through the camera! It’s PERFECT! I’m referring it to everybody!

Unreliable. I got this to use as a security camera while I was out. I haven’t been able to access my live feed since day 2 of my week long trip. So really and truly I’m the fool for not only not choosing to trust this app because it worked well once but also leaving my iPad pointing at the door to be the first thing anyone to see if they break in. Could have and should have just planned ahead and purchased one of the numerous and more reliable ACTUAL security cameras out there - with accompanying apps that actually work. Also I would like to mention that I DID reach out for support several times over the last few days and have gotten no sort of response.

Absolutely love this app. I bought your new Alfred cameras and they are awesome. The quality is high and picture is clear. The only problem is I bought your newest camera the plus version and it disconnects once in a while. Even though th me camera is right next to the router. Also most camera apps have where you can view all cameras instantly but you don’t have that feature. I subscribed also because I like the 14 day recordings and longer recording.

New Updated Version Does Not Work!. I have used this app for many months and it worked great. But since their recent “update” it is terrible. Cameras will not connect or disconnect constantly and cannot be connected remotely. What good is a security camera if I have to be there! My WiFi and cameras are exactly as they were before, nothing has changed on my end. I have done everything they suggest including Guided Access. Since the problems only started with their new “updated version” I know the problem is with them. I suspect they are doing it to get people to “upgrade” from the free version to the “pay $3.99 a month” version. Not a nice thing for them to do!

Alfred. I’ve had something’s I’ve heard outside and wanted to purchase cameras but can’t afford them. Now that I have just one camera on the side I think it comes from it hasn’t happened. If I have to pay for the extra service because she sees this review I guess I’ll have to. It’s still cheaper than buying the whole setup. So thank you Alfred for giving me the peace I feel I deserve. Nobody deserves to be driven crazy or lose sleep over someone’s pranks.

I love this app but there is one thing that bugs me. I use all iphones for my cameras (and I am a paying subscriber) Everything just works, and this app is great BUT- on my cameras, I am constantly nagged to enable notifications! Why? These phones are 100% unattended (or I would like them to be..) but I wake up at night to pee, walk through the house, and see a bright white popup asking to enable notifications. The cameras aren't in easy to reach spots so it would be nice to not interact with them manually. Thanks for a great app otherwise!!!

Robbed, no footage. At first i loved this app, it seemed great it, worked with my phone it even picked up small movements and notified me. I thought this would definitely keep my belongings safe, well I was robbed TODAY WITH NO NOTIFICATION OR ANYTHING AT ALL. Earlier in the day when simply light reflections came into view it notified me, but when their were legitimate burglars it decided not to record a single second. Granted you could say maybe they were out of view, no their was stuff rummaged through directly in front of my camera(camera untouched) but still no motion detection. It seemed good in theory but in use it ultimately failed i have no type of video or anything of the people that broke into my house.

Most frustrating app EVER. Sorry developers, I'm not running iOS 12. I'm not touching the camera, home button, I tried both with and without guided access. Stop trying to blame everything else except poor development. This app is the most frustrating app I have downloaded since iPhone 3 when I first started using Apple products. So, no. Turning off guided access didn't help. Neither did turning it on. Oh I also don't touch the power button. Phone is plugged in and I use the lock button in the app to dim the screen. I followed every step you outlined in the too lengthy list of how to stay connected. Nope. Done. Will never again download anything else you make.

Defeats the purpose. The camera captures everything but what it needs to. I have the motion sensitivity on high and it doesn’t detect a person walking in my driveway it doesn’t detect a car pulling in the driveway and it doesn’t detect a person on my porch. And I have checked the camera for it in the events. The camera will capture vehicles driving up and down the street, leaves blowing , lightning striking, but not what is needed. I refuse to upgrade when the free version doesn’t give me any security. And as a woman who lives alone that is of the upmost importance. I need to see and know who is coming to my house or might enter or try to enter my home when I’m not there. I’d like to make sure that my packages/mail are delivered correctly and not stolen.

Use it to monitor my 3d Printer. I use this app to monitor my 3d printer when I’m not home, honestly great. It’s super simple to set up on your computer and phone. The only drawback is you have to leave your computer on the whole time but this gets overshadowed by everything else. For a free app you get motion detection, 7 day storage for recorded footage, and night vision(albeit it’s not the greatest but it does somewhat help). All in all I definitely recommend using this app.

Great app just a few ideas , Motion sensor flash light that would come on if movement happens , that would be cool next idea split screen where you can merge two or more cameras on one screen and finally my favorite make it to where the flash light can stay on permanently even when the viewer puts his/her phone to sleep so it would continually stay on maybe even have a option to where it automatically comes on when it gets dark .
