To clever by far…. Either I’m stupid or this game is stupid; OK, maybe we’re both stupid but the point is there’s no point. I downloaded the app and the screen came on. There was cool noise and by tilting my phone I actually could create melodies. When I was done soon around and wanted to find out more I look for a table of contents or somewhere to click or some explanation on how to get the different visuals that we see in the App Store. Couldn’t figure it out. Tried to find information online. No dice. Don’t get me wrong, even being used as a theremin like musical instrument, the app is beautiful and the sounds are lovely. It’s one thing however to sell mystery in the challenge people by asking them if you are you good enough for you clever enough? But if somebody downloads your game and is clueless on how to figure it out then what’s the point? Sure it says you can solve puzzles without touching the phone but I would expect that would be a landing pageFrom which you could sign up, or have a table of contents, or some explanation of what’s going on. If I had to guess, maybe the idea is to hold the phone so that it no longer makes noise? I don’t know…I’m clueless

Incredibly Clever!!!. (I'm not one to really write reviews, especially not long or in-depth ones, so don't expect an immaculate review), but I really just wanted to say that this is so clever and so much fun, whenever I solve a puzzle, I can't help but smile and think "That was super clever, I liked that one." Some are quite challenging, but I actually want to try and avoid using hints, (no not because I don't want to give the developer money, trust me, they deserve every penny they get with this extremely unique and fun collection of puzzles). I am up for and excited for every challenge that's thrown at me, and I love how it forces me to think outside the box and use essentially every aspect of my phone besides the use of touch! All in all, it's an amazing puzzle game backed by an amazing developer and small team!

Interesting concept, not enough info. This game is cool, I won’t deny that. It makes you play around with the functions of the phone in ways that you might not expect but ultimately I found myself more frustrated with the minimalistic approach of the game. I wish there was more to at least get your started rather than blinding messing with systems that don’t matter to the puzzle. For me it’s just not the type of game I’m looking for when it comes to a puzzle game; and it says there is not touching the screen for swiping but the third puzzle I encounter required you touching at swiping so it’s not necessarily the game it claims to be either. Again, a cool idea but the puzzles don’t even begin to be noticeable in any way and all really have to go off of is pure luck of finding what you’re supposed to do and that’s not a puzzle in my opinion, that’s just a gamble. If there was a bit more direction then maybe but there isn’t any consistency in the puzzles and that overrides the fun that might be had. Because of that I give it 2 stars out of 5

This is possibly one of the best games I’ve ever played.. And yes, before anyone asks, I do consider this a game. I got pretty bored of all the rip offs and games with obnoxious ads and I stumbled upon this game. With my dying breath, I downloaded it and I was instantly revived. The amount of effort put into the coding of this is absolutely award winning. The game itself is quite confusing at first, but once you get the general feel of it, you start to know what to do for all of the puzzles. I’ve had to look a few of them up because my small brain can’t handle the amount of awesomeness this has to offer. If you ever find yourself looking for a game changing app, please, download this. You won’t only be supporting Ryan (the creator of the game), you will be helping yourself. Every time you complete a puzzle, your brain just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I wouldn’t recommended buying. I must say, this apps incredibly well designed and the first few puzzles are great! I got suckered in and bought the rest of the levels for $5. It’s at this point with the new levels that the level structure itself changes. The free puzzles are all things you can accomplish immediately. A lot of the paid puzzles require you to check in at certain times of the day, check in once every hour for 12 hours, during a new or full moon, travel a ridiculous 650 miles. Some of these have ways they can be cheated, and others don’t. I don’t like games like this where the puzzle is entirely out of my control until a very specific moment arises, or when you have to constantly check back at the app to see if it does anything. Like I said, the beginning levels are great because they’re out of he box, accomplishable tasks. The paid levels in comparison are just a lot of waiting and it’s really not worth keeping this app installed for the next time I take a plane trip just to complete all the levels, so at this point I’ve decided to quit early and delete the game 😕

My detailed review. Alright listen here, there are many puzzle games out there that are simply great and amazing. They have good art style, challenging puzzles and maybe even a deep well hidden story. But, they don’t compare to Blackbox’s level of creativity and innovation. It’s simplistic design makes the player become deceived when deep down there is a large level of complexity. There’s no big story, no impressive graphics. But it goes back to what puzzle games where always about. Solving the puzzle itself and nothing else. These puzzles really made me think outside the box and show us how much an app can have access to. I have bought both expansion packs because I loved this game so much. It brought me joy to complete a puzzle and turn on a “light.” This game will make you frustrated, make you cry tears of joy. But you keep solving puzzles because of how great they are and the cleverness that goes into each challenge. Amazing game, 5 stars.

My Favorite iOS Game!. Blackbox is my favorite game that is currently on my phone. It's innovative, challenging, and funny. I think that some of the levels are a little bit too difficult, for example the level where you have to go a certain distance to turn on each of the four lights. I would prefer it if the distance was not so far, because I drove about 54 miles (~1 hour 15 mins) and only reached the second light. The speed at which the distance indicator advances only gets slower as well. I also live at a fairly high elevation, and I have not even reached the first light yet on the erudite pack level in which you must increase your phone's elevation to turn on the lights. I understand that these levels are meant to be challenging, but many people don't have the funds to travel such long distances or to travel to where there are very high elevations. Other than those two levels, I have found this game very enjoyable (although frustrating at times) and I get excited every time I see a new meta challenge has come out. Thank you Mr. McLeod for this wonderful game!

This games broke me.. When I saw this I thought I was up for a fun challenge. What I got was one of the most grueling experiences I’ve ever had. The first challenges are easy enough but then things get more difficult and extreme. You may start with tilting your phone, but then you get to waiting hours for a challenge to finish or walking what seems to be a pretty far distance (haven’t finished that one yet). This game is will break you. If you thought you were smart, clever, a genius or anything in between, this game will prove you wrong. You could give in and buy hints, but that’s the easy way out. Instead take that money you would spend on hints (you also get free hints) and buy more levels, and buy Ryan the burrito he deserves. Also, quick thing you might want to know, you don’t need to tap or swipe in this app to complete the problems. You may have to dig around your setting but that’s the only touching of your phone screen. Get this game and realize how you aren’t that clever. Good luck (it’s the only thing you’ll have playing this).

Changed my entire perception of puzzle games.. This game is stunning. It has a fun style and design, and challenges you to extremes to think outside the box. I previously had no idea about some of the features of this game, and even some of the features on my iPad. (Side note: Although this game is not designed for full iPad support yet, I have experienced no issues thus far.) I have spent days and hours and still have not completed half the puzzles, plus, new ones continue to appear. I believe this game is worth every cent, and have highly recommended it to others. Please show this app some love, because I would love to see more. Signed, Me.

Think Outside the Box ⬛️. This is an absolutely brilliant game! It is so intricate in such a simple, satisfying way, I can not even express it in words. I generally forget about most games and then delete them, but Blackbox is not that kind of game. I have had it since the beginning and it is unlike any puzzle game I have ever played, quickly becoming my favorite app. I adore the simplicity of the graphics and the creativity of the game in general. The humor in Blackbox just adds to it all the more. It always makes my day when I get another funny comment from The Developer. I have recommended this game to almost everyone I know, and I still think this game could be for anyone! It gets you thinking, and even if you aren't that fond of puzzle games, try it! The only thing that I dislike about Blackbox is the wait until the next update. I always look forward to it! Thank you Ryan for taking the time to make such a brilliant game!

Five furious stars, I have a mostly love, but surrounded by hate relationship with this game.. The quests (yes, these are quests, NOT TASKS/PROBLEMS) given to you are split 30-70, some have a clear and satisfying answer that is obvious and isn’t enraging, and other 70% are ENRAGING, I had to DRIVE IN MY CAR TO ACHIEVE A DOT ON MY PHONE, *A PHONE GAME MADE ME LEAVE MY HOUSE AND DRIVE SPENDING GAS TO GET A FULL CUBE WITH A DOT*. Now on the flip side, the feeling you get from figuring it out is addicting, especially when you refused to spend hint points on it, it is just not for the faint of heart, it requires brain power with the Will to try things right or wrong, and to accept the wrong answer and then find the right one after it kicked you in your face hole with a digital boot. 7 out of five, ran out of stars, I love this rage filled game of dopamine release accomplishment.

Not sure why there are bad reviews at all 🤷‍♀️. I absolutely love Blackbox, and after a few days of playing it I decided to take a look at the 'most critical' reviews out of curiosity. To anyone reading these reviews in search of a fun puzzle app, Blackbox may be the best puzzle app I've ever come across! The one-star reviews are misleading and largely untrue. One of these reviews said that "The game forces you to write a review," which is not true in the slightest. Another said something about "sad this game is too difficult, not everyone goes to college." 🤨 If Blackbox is not enjoyable for you, you can delete it- and you certainly do NOT have to go to college to play this game! I digress- Blackbox is a wonderful app, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a game to stretch your creative and outside-the-box thinking skills, no matter if you go to college or don't!

Absolute genius. Playing iPhone games can be frustrating when part of the screen is broken and won’t respond to your taps. So when I heard about a free game that you didn’t really have to tap to play, I thought “What the heck? Let’s try it.” I love it. I think it’s brilliant. In spite of advertising that “Many start, few finish,” Blackbox rarely feel threatening. In fact, it sometimes feels a little more like a toy you have to use your imagination to play with. You’ll find yourself shaking the phone, moving it around like your trying to take a picture of something invisible, asking for a charger while your phone is at 80% battery, and laughing and thinking to yourself, “Wow, I bet I look like a lunatic.” But most of all, the game embodies the kind of quirky outside-the-box thinking that sets puzzle games apart from every other kind of game. Be warned: There’s not really a clear tutorial so you will have to experiment quite a bit, but as far as I’m concerned, that just makes it better. I can’t wait to see what Blackbox has in store for me next.

Sometimes necessary to think literally!. I love that this game uses both literal solutions and some unexpected approaches to solve puzzles. Sometimes you just need to think literally in order to solve, that’s the last thing you expect from a puzzle. Most other puzzle games follow a very generic formula to reach a solution. You search for items, look at images or listen to audio, move things around on your screen. Predictable and eventually boring gameplay. Black Box is refreshing, this game challenges you to abandon the problem solving methods you’ve grown comfortable with. That in and of itself is just another part of the puzzle. Oftentimes a simplistic approach is how you’ll get the answer, all the while you’ve been avoiding it for minutes looking for a difficult solution... Great concept, exceptional execution.

There is nothing like this game. This is probably the greatest puzzle game on mobile devices, it makes you really think where the rules start and end. The thinking is not restricted to the game like most other games even on computers, but it encourages out-of-box thinking that you won’t get in many other games. When you complete a puzzle you really feel accomplished, and it makes you think about the other puzzles more thoroughly. There was a time where I couldn’t get a puzzle for months, didn’t touch the game for I don’t know how long, then just booted up the game and got it on the first try. It can seem too cryptic at times but that makes completing the puzzle all the more rewarding. I give this 5 stars only because of its uniqueness and lack of competition, I would want to see this sort of thing expanded upon for the pc.

Interesting, difficult, and a bit creepy. I have to say this is a very interesting little game and it certainly makes you think. It makes you use your device in ways you wouldn't normally think to use it. My only big issue with this game is that some of the challenges are incredibly difficult. I won't spoil any of the game (you can find many walkthroughs online if you'd rather cheat your way through) but for some of the challenges you have to do things you would never think to even attempt trying. You know it's hard when even a walkthrough has to write two paragraphs on how to solve one of the problems. All that said, I do enjoy this game and wish there were many more free puzzles available at once. It is a big creepy, though, seeing just how much an application knows about what you do on your phone/tablet without giving it permission, like viewing your notes, homescreen, etc. This game would earn a solid 5 stars if not for the insanely difficult puzzles, which, thankfully, don't make up all of them. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend.

Beyond Event Horizon. Where did the last five hours go? They got sucked into the Blackbox hole. I love/hate Blackbox. I’m engaged. I’m frustrated. I’m clever, I’m stupid. I solved a challenge. My chores aren’t done. What’s wrong with me? …to Aha! Oh, that Aha moment. That’s what’s been missing from other apps. I have learned a lot about my phone that I never would have bothered to learn otherwise. I guess that makes Blackbox my teacher. My sensei that called me out and reminded me that Patience is a virtue when I tried to rush a challenge. Yes, I can hear that!! Blackbox knows what you’re thinking before you do. The interaction from this app is intelligent and amusing. I begged for a puzzle game that wasn’t made for fifth graders. I desired an app that could challenge me, engage me. I got one. Boy, did I get one!! Thank you Blackbox. ….Hey, Ryan, think you could design a word game app?

“Just plain good”. Normally I hate puzzle games but this game I don’t know what it is but the puzzles that make you think outside the box the creativity the devs put in this game. Like do I stand up spin around circles? Tilt my screen? Yell into the Microphone . This game is not plain not bitter but it is a sweet game the controls are awesome getting threw levels doing something you think would not work and it works you are speechless when that happens. To me it’s not plain not bitter but sweet and if it was plain it would be just plain good. This game can make me spend hours on. By the way I HATE most mobile games but this game is “just plain good”. This just is mind boiling that this game is free (in app purchases are in tho) like that’s crazy! I would pay 5 bucks just to have 30 levels because their so hard. This game is great download it just give it a shot. Trust me you’ll love it... Make more mobile games like this man we need good mobile like this. Keep up the good work. And keep thinking outside the box . The black box.

Mostly obsessed. Okay, absolutely obsessed with this concept. The difficulty is there, the humor is there, the design is all there. This game has a lot to offer with it’s unique gameplay and I am all for supporting small teams on creations like this. I truly believe that anyone should try it at least once and it’s super fun to have others try and figure it out with you. The only real downside, is in one particular puzzle which I think may benefit from a modification and that is needing headphones to solve it. I truly think it would benefit from being changed to having to plug your charger in instead to make it more accessible for others. Otherwise, great game. I recommend it to everyone due to the way it encourages you to use all your senses in a fun way all on one game. I also think pricing is more than fair and despite it only costing so little on our side I do hope that it still helps the creators in some way. I pray the price for us ended up working out great for you guys cause honestly…take my money lol. I just hope that this puzzle can be changed and other puzzles that may be built in a similar fashion can be changed accordingly to make it more easily accessible for all players who want the challenge of playing this beautiful game. Amazing. I love the concept of this game and i think that it is very good but it took me w while to get past the first puzzle and i know that it’s supposed to take a long time to get past puzzles like that, but i am very dumb so it took me a while. Other then that i love how this game is made, even though it took me a while to get past the first puzzle i love this game, it relieves a lot of stress that i have, and i love how creative the game is as well. I have never written a review on a game before but i knew that i had to write a review on this game because i love the game so much, and i just the game today! I hope that you keep making creative games just like this one and i will be sure to check them out and maybe write another review on that game, that’s all! Keep up the good work!!

This is what I’ve been waiting for. Blackbox is the first puzzle game that I’ve played in a long time that I think is actually worth playing. The puzzles are challenging and creatively designed, and they maintain that simplicity and beauty that makes you keep coming back for more. The developer frequently updates the game, adding new puzzles and special events. Blackbox is not your average puzzle game. I was confused at first when I read that you don’t touch the screen, but I was shocked after solving the first puzzle, and even more so as I continued to solve them. There are so many things I did not know my phone was capable of that I do now. This developer has restored my faith in humanity because they really have made something special. Please, world, make more games with the level of creativity and ingenuity as Blackbox.

Loving this game so far. Just got it today. Playing so quickly although I’m stuck on a couple of things. Regardless it’s a ton a of fun. Mad respect to the dev, the amount of Easter eggs and thought that had to go into this is nothing if not impressive. Not to mention the overall aesthetic, the look and feel of the game, is absolutely enthralling, i don’t think there’s a name for the style but it feels akin to “Flow Free” a game used to play all the time on my iPod touch when I was younger, only this feels more suited for modern software and hardware alike. Completely recommend. I’ve probably already spent $5 on hints but the dev deserves it haha. I’m just captivated by making progress in this game! It is somehow so effective at making you want to keep going. The game does a great job of making progress fun, and rewarding you with more of itself. Genius haha.

Challenging but exciting to play.. I'm not good at puzzles and such, but this game was actually fun. It's very difficult to understand how to solve it but once you get the hang of it, it becomes more and more entertaining and exciting! It's kinda funny on the complexity of solving the puzzles and the how different everyone of the puzzles are from each other. But I recommend this game because it's fun for me , depending on your age of course. I'm 13 so, but anyways, I think of this game as a puzzle sorta thing and kinda a challenging one. But once you figure it out, you'll have fun with it and keep playing it and enjoy it. So if your bored and think about downloading an app, I suggest this one to you because it's entertaining. I say probably 13 and up, considering the complexity. Well I was happy to write this review, hope you enjoy it!

Sketchy. This app is extremely sketchy. I immediately turned off all allowances to mic/camera/notifications and deleted the app once I got to the puzzle that I realized was making me say “Hello” in every language. There was no asking for permission or disclaimer that my information could be/would be sold (that I saw). One of the QR camera puzzles was flipped to my face and the hint said “Let me see”. Just red flags everywhere. Know what you’re putting your money into before you do it. EDIT: Look, I’m just going to say it… The creator, Ryan, acts like a total baby when some people give him anything other than a “5 star” review. I read A LOT of the reviews on his app and he even told someone who gave him a 1 star, “…It doesn’t matter because yours will get lost in all the 5 star reviews” Like, dude… it didn’t. He literally had an entire argument over the review section with a customer who was unsatisfied with his app. People are going to hate it, dude. You are asking for their opinion and they are giving it to you. You can’t sass them just because you don’t like their response 😂 …a whole year later and you’re still a cry baby. Hope you didn’t think too hard on that response. 🤘🏼

This is the best iOS game I’ve played in years!. I’ve only had the game installed for a few days but this has been the source of some of my most frustrating moments, as well as the best feeling of accomplishment, all from a seemingly simple puzzle game. This really threw me for a loop after the first few levels, it looked pretty on the App Store and that’s why I downloaded it but this game is so much more than a pretty face. Ryan manages to use every aspect of the technology we have in our pockets in seriously creative ways and (I’m not sure if this was his goal from the beginning, but) it made me really think and appreciate how much tech really is in our phones. I only have two gripes with the app and no ether of them really are the apps fault, but the time based level(s) are bothersome because I know I’ll forget to open the level at the right time (I understand that’s a me thing). The only other issue I have is while our phones are amazing pieces of technology, they’re fragile, I’ve got a life proof case of mine and I still can manage to cause some sensor or mic to work good enough for every day use but it’s not up to spec with a phone out of the box. Other than that it’s an amazing game and I’m upset I hadn’t heard about it until now. P.s. Ryan, this is my first ever App Store review so kudos for making something really worth gushing over! P.p.s. Ryan if you end up reading this, I’m blaming you for my grades on my finals!

Truly stunning and innovative. Absolutely beautiful design choices combined with oftentimes difficult puzzles creates one of the best apps on the store. Each puzzle utilizes a different function of the phone such as the light level the camera sees, the accessibility settings are heavily used, a feature that many people wouldn’t have known about until playing. The simple art style adds to the experience of the game by reducing the distractions in each level. There are no buttons, tapping on the screen in any level will bring up the exit, but if you have trouble and can’t make much progress, you can press down on the boxes in each level to bring up a very helpful hint menu. I haven’t even scratched the surface of this game, and there’s already so much to do. The first handful of levels are great introduction to the rest of the game. After those levels, you can either buy the rest of the game for a very reasonable $4.99 USD or just quit after you finish the free levels. I chose to continue, and I am glad I did. Truly an innovative game and I’m glad I could play it.

Love It. At first, when i saw this game, i figures it was like every other puzzle game (not to many mechanics and fairly easy), but as it turns out, this game actually uses everything your phone can do and pushes it to the limit. I first saw this game as a game like any other, just something i would do if i had nothing better, and now here i am trying to figure out all the puzzles (and there are plenty!). Most games get dull and repetitive pretty fast, and it’s usually game finished within five minutes, but i can see that this game isn’t going to run out of ideas any time soon. All that i would want out of this game is if you could do more puzzles and get more hints without having to pay, since i don’t really have the time or money for it. Overall a great game, and would support the developers as soon as possible (and just might buy ryan a burrito at some point ;-)).

The one the only Black Box. Review: Amazing game 4/5 stars. The puzzles are complex and fulfilling when solved (with no help from the internet). This is a game can be played over and over again, and still some of the challenges leave you baffled as to how you solved it. All of the aspects of the app are very thought out and programmed to perfection. I highly recommended it to anyone who enjoys problem solving or anything related to it. The in app purchases of extra levels are worth it if you think you can solve them and have a couple of extra dollars. On the other hand it’s only downfall is it’s hints. While it is one of the most creative and interesting games I have played, you have to pay for tokens to pay for hints in game (granted there are a few given to you for free). Black box’s hints should be accessible without payment, because it’s like solving a riddle, without the riddle. Other than that Black Box is a solid game. Note: I have thoroughly played through black box, and it has been an eye opening experience to what is possible. With companies wanting proliferations of data, data-mining will become more common until it’s a common place occurrence. If an application asks to access to location, or contacts, or notifications, they are actually getting access to more than you would initially think. Black box makes you think twice about mindlessly tapping through prompts that ask if an app can access a function of your iPhone.

Accessible fun game (details added. I can't tell if my changes are going through or not. This game is clever and almost completely compatible with VoiceOver. Ryan I see your response but now it's not letting me click back in to respond back. There are a few challenges, and I do mean a few as in like three, where the thing that makes it look different from other challenges isn't described or reads weird, but this game is more accessible than both my high school's and my college's websites. Which is pretty sad, but still good for Blackbox. I also have a weird problem with the teal-colored challenge where the screen is covered with shifting black and white squares. I know what makes the squares change size, but I ac't seem to get enough of it ato activate the challenge. There's no specific reason why I didn't rate the game five stars. I've just always kind of felt weird rating things five stars because there's always room for improvement. The game is fun, challenging, humorous and clever and I will definitely tell my blind and sighted friends about it.

OMG. This is the best MOBILE game i have ever played not joking i have had the best time playing this it is hard but thats why its so fun because i can feel play it and laugh too instead of being frustrated cause you can buy the developer coffee and a burrito and it has reasonable prices like only 40 cent for like 100 hint credits im SO surprised that the ratings are not a complete 5 star rating it has a 4.8 so close to 5 but i think it should be 5 cause this game is a MOBILE game that is amazing this is like one of the first mobile games to pass the line of me throwing up after downloading all the way to me LOVING the game it is so amazing and i dont even like puzzles so if you do this game will DEFINITELY hit the spot and if it doesn’t your WEIRD (jk) and its free so you can download it so you know im not lying no adds so by downloading this game the only way your helping the developers is popularity so please download this and try it out please cause i seen this and thought it would be bad bbbbuuuuuttttt its NOT EVEN CLOSE to bad its amazing so if yous see this you have to download it cause remember i hate puzzles and puzzle games but i love this one so please download this the reason im adding SO much urgency is because i skipped a comment on this game and decided not to download it but then changed my mind and im so glad i did you please download this its got funny stuff puzzling stuff (duh) and fun stuff

This is a cool game.. I would download this if I was anyone else who loved puzzles this is pretty cool. This would help boost people, (each box level should come with a hint,) so you’re not struggling the whole way through and you can pick like from the levels in that box (idea)>>You can pick the hint you want for it for the box inside of the level that would be a great help. I would expect that the levels were a little bit easier and wouldn’t rank up the IQ amount that quickly because that makes it harder and harder and harder. You should be able to get to know the game before you get into an extreme level like when I’m on right now. I would say it is an awesome game. Otherwise I want this to be seen because this can actually make the game better, and that’s just my thoughts. If it’s not a good thought then it doesn’t need to be added to the game anyways I hope you beat the game. I hope you passed the level before me, it’s pretty difficult and I don’t think I’m gonna be able to pass in time before new player does and that’s all, bye-bye!

Fun but hard and have to pay. Im a puzzle girl. I like a good puzzle, where i have to use my head. when i have to think out side the box. this game is a great game for thinking outside the box. but there a few things. first off it's HARD!!! now i'm not talking about "oh just do this" or "use ur head for this" no no no. i'm talking like it gives u a puzzle that just has a square. you can't touch it, you can't shake the phone. it's very difficult. now i know what you thinking, "dude, just use the hints" I would but it's expensive! if you want the first hint it's one "token". "alright? not bad" but if you still don't understand you can get another hint for two tokens. then the next ones three. "why does that matter" because you get seven tokens for free. once you use them all. that's it. no more. if ur stuck. pay. no ads. no way to get more free tokens. you gotta pay. and sure they cheap. 100 tokens for, what, 70 cents? that's not bad but what if your a broke person! not calling myself out but dude! there's gotta be another way to get tokens! and that not the only thing you have to pay for. Lets go down memory lane for a sec. i finished i believe five boxes. then it gives me so many more. so far so good. BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. you have to PAY for basically MORE THAN HALF the game. and it's like 6-9 dollars! again broke dude. so there are some things that u wish that they could work on. but it's a good game overall.

Awesome. It is definitely not your average "mind game". This game might actually help people to find out some extra features of their device (although, I already know all the features used by the game) Edit: If the App Store supported crossing out words, then that last in parentheses would be. This game receives regular updates and more challenges. I wish games of this level of quality, care and character were more abundant on the App Store and elsewhere. I don’t like spending money on in-game purchases just for a game, but I do like using my money to support developers that deserve money for awesome and thoughtful games like Black box. I try to make sure that developers like the creator of Blackbox can keep developing games like this and I hope that more developers with similar levels of care, creativity, and outside the box thinking (pun partially intended) start to come out into the light. Also, I think helping people discover the functions of our high-tech phones along with just having this game use every facet of things built into them to solve these challenges is awesome. Especially since this game is not necessarily designed as a discovery game for phone functions but as instead an “everything goes” (within the physical possibilities of our phone) type puzzle. And I love every bit of it.

Best game if played since ever!. Blackbox is a beautifully designed simplistic puzzle game, with a twist. You pretty much never have to touch the game to solve the puzzles instead you have to go to the top of mountains, wait days and moon cycles, work with friends near or far, find a peaceful and quiet place, explore the safari and think outside the blackbox. I’ve tried for months to find a game as satisfying and with as many “Ah ha!” moments as blackbox. I think blackbox has set an impossible standard for indie puzzle games that I hope is one day met. Now I’m no game critic I’m just a kid who loved this game so much that I actually wanted to write about how good it is (I hate writing). The only games that have even come close are Maginary, Secret Signs, and Axium. If you know of any other mind bending puzzle games please let me know (including pc games or even a game you reading this might have made). I still haven’t beaten this game because I missed the full moon last time and I need to find something to play afterwards.

Very satisfying and fun but not as challenging as you’d expect. Yes I recommend this app. I’ve done 66 puzzles so far and really enjoyed the game. Originally I’d rate this 5 stars, but after a bit, the puzzles became less challenging and more tedious, I guess? As in, they just require time to solve or opening the puzzle at a certain time of day, walking a far distance, and climbing in height, etc. After the first two like this, I was a little dissatisfied and some I have left undone because I can’t be bothered after I figured out the solution. The others felt more like trying to make you share the game on socials/to friends to solve the puzzle. (Like free promo which is smart but I can’t be bothered 😭) The game itself is very satisfying and pleasing to the eye, but it also crashes semi often and at one point I had to offload and re-download the app after I used the hints and it implied something I already tried… the same solution worked this time. I was a bit frustrated after wasting so much time—thinking the solution must be super creative… overall I recommend just for the several fun puzzles, haha.

Amazing with only a tiny issue. I love this app! It challenges you in ways I never thought were possible on my phone! I love the developers humor ( I love any clever humor) The challenges are extremely clever and fun but I have one tiny issue: some of the challenges are just too hard. I have to look it up online and I would have never thought to do that had I not looked it up. I also feel like the app wants you to spend a lot of time on it because on one of the challenges, you have to be on the app one time every hour of the day. I am not staying up until three a.m. just because of that challenge! I also think the app should give you 5 free hint credits just to try out if you get stuck on a level. You have to pay for the hint credits and you have to pay just to unlock some levels! I don’t want to pay for an app if it is just some game. I just don’t think it’s worth it. However overall, BlackBox is an amazing app and I have been recommending it to everyone who will listen! I absolutely love BlackBox and don’t regret downloading it!

So much fun in a such a small box. I actually stumbled across this app when I got my iPod touch 5gen and remembered it the other day only to not remember the name only that it had to do with box and last night I looked up puzzle box apps and after some searching I found it and got it on my phone played laughing at all the funny notes after figuring something out and finding things But it all soon ends when you can’t unlock the ones you need to pay for as well as the ones you just can’t figure out what you need to do but you know you’ve seen the symbol before or you need to wait and you just want to get it done cause your very impatient It’s so fun playing it and figuring things out as well as finding things you didn’t know you could do with your phone or just relearning things you forgot you could do Looking forward to figuring out more of these challenges

Insane game!!!. At first, I didn’t think this game would be challenging. I have played other games that weren’t challenging because either the questions weren’t hard or I have already seen the questions on another app, but this app is different and unique. I have to admit though, some of the levels are going to take a while to accomplish. I have a few ideas for Ryan, the person who makes the game. So I think you should add an icon that allows us to design our own levels to give to you. There are some creative people who have ideas and also it would help if we don’t want to type a comment. Also, I think that if we want to buy the extension pack we should get to know what kind of levels there are. Obviously you can’t give us like a few levels to try because you aren’t making money. The only reason I say this is because I have gotten a free app before and paid to get the extension but it wasn’t much different from the free part. It wasn’t worth the money I paid. One last thing, you should add, which you might’ve already added I just haven’t gotten to it, but you should add maybe timed or memory activities. Maybe every 3 seconds there will be an object in one of the boxes and a new one will show up every 3 seconds. Then, after the sequence is over, you have to choose what was shown. Maybe a symbol would stand for whatever was shown. These are just some ideas to extend the game because I would definitely be disappointed if you didn’t add anymore levels.

Longest game I've played on my iPhone.. There are those games that get you're attention with dazzling effects and action or addiction. This game doesn't do any of the above. Well, maybe it's a little addicting but not like other games. This one challenges the nerd in me. I've been playing through all the levels for a little over 1 month and I've been amazed at what I've been able to solve! The best parts of this game are when I'm outside of the game mucking about in my phone to solve the puzzle inside the game without even touching the puzzle. There are time based puzzles that stretch my patience but it's so enjoyable to solve it because I figured it out! Be prepared to get frustrated and use hints that at first don't seem to help, but keep going and keep your mind open so you don't get stuck in a mind rut.

Like No Other!. When I first saw this game I was confused about what it was, so I read about it, and got hooked even before I downloaded it😀, and after taking a look at the reviews I saw this game isn’t a ripoff like much other games. When I downloaded it I was immediately introduced to the creative game design and levels, and I was so excited to keep trying to beat this game (which I’m still working on :D). I have to say I LOVE how I can hop on this app and play without the annoyance of ads popping up every 2 seconds, and it’s even cooler how cheap the “Full Version” is, instead of being $50-$100 like some other apps, it’s mere dollars, and the app isn’t pushy towards buying it either. I also can’t get enough on how creative this game is! I mean all the small jokes, comments and idiotic statements, it’s just amazing! Along with the insanely hard and mind boggling puzzles it’s just amazing. I read a review on another app awhile back and it said “Nothing good comes with free” and I thought I agreed with that until I got this app. Thank you for putting a bit of amazing ness and creativity into the App Store, I truly think this work from one person can do a lot. Has some really cool concepts. I have to say I didn't enjoy this game very much, but I can tell it had a lot of work put into it and it has some really neat tricks in the puzzles. I'm a huge fan of puzzle games but I didn't really feel like the puzzles were hard in a way that made you feel super smart when you solve them. In games like the room, myst, and even the witness, the puzzles are made so that they're difficult because you have a lot you have to think about at once, and to figure out the puzzles you have to use Logic. In this game, it's more guessing, and then once you figure it out, you say: "oh wow, I had no idea the phone could detect that". The main puzzle side of it is using the clues to figure out what you have to do, but a lot of them are very vague, which is fine, but for a puzzle game where each puzzle really only has one step, it's kind of annoying. I'd say everyone should try it out though, maybe I just don't like these types of puzzles, because it seems like a lot of people do like them.

Amazing and addictive. Okay so in this comment I’m going to address some of the things others are talking about. 1: “There being no instructions” This game is made to test the limits of the brain and challenge you. There has been a study that more and more, people are Challenged less and less. This game is a good way to bring make that Challenge and find out what you need to do. It’s similar to life in that regard, you weren’t born knowing what job you’ll get, so find out as you journey 2: “The game is creepy and asks for too much control” To start off with, I’m still alive, writing this comment. The game needs these to help challenge you. An example would be the voice level. It’s one of the harder levels and gives a slight change and the game makes you think more, without the permissions the game has lost the ability to become as great as it could be! Even if you aren’t comfortable giving them permissions there are still base levels you can play. If the game were trying to steal your money (or whatever) all the levels would have these limitations. Please get this amazing game! The creator clearly has worked hard on this awesome app and the game is fun (sometimes frustrating) and challenging.

Maddening, but in a good way, kind of.. I love puzzle games. I love working out the solutions to even very difficult or frustrating ones. I take notes. I look for patterns. I observe. None of this helps at all with this game (for most puzzles). Some of my puzzles solve segments on their own and I have no clue why. I can’t even undo or start over to observe why it may have happened. It’s impossible to know what caused it and to use that info for reference. This is maddening to me, but it does keep me coming back more often to check things. I have to admit, I am completely lost most of the time. I don’t know if this is wise marketing by the developer though, because it doesn’t exactly make me want to buy the other locked puzzles. If I figure something out and start to recognize a pattern, I may buy them, but I certainly will not while I’m just stabbing in the dark.

Unbelievable. I came here to write a review but honestly, I can’t even begin to think of the words that do this game justice. Is amazing really, It doesn’t even feel like a game, it feels like a teaching tool almost, like I’m getting something out of it and making myself better. Lot of deep mental thoughts for an App Store game I know, but it deserves it. I was on the App Store looking for a new game to try and this one caught my eye immediately. The quick witted one liners through the levels when you’re trying to figure things out is a nice touch. (Woah there cowboy was prob my fav so far.) I normally don’t put money into a mobile game, but I had no choice but to get more levels and send my support for this team. Excellent game, easy 10/10. I feel better off by playing it and I hope many more can feel that way too.

10/10, you should definitely play this game.. I absolutely love this game, it’s so fun and challenging. I keep aggravating myself by stupidly wasting my hint credits on puzzles that feel like common sense after I figure them out. I don’t think I’m a very smart person so this game automatically feels very complicated over all, but I don’t think the complexity of the game for me is all about my brain. It’s definitely very complicated on its own, personally I think that’s a good and a bad thing. It’s just hard enough to be so fun and intriguing, the more times I fail to complete a puzzle, the more I want to keep playing and trying to figure it out. Honestly I can, and have spent hours playing it and trying to figure out different ways to complete puzzles. If you enjoy a good challenge or hard games, Blackbox is worth downloading.

No game like it. Honestly, at first I was skeptical. I was browsing through the app store looking for games to play since I became bored of the ones I had, and I stumbled across BlackBox. Let me tell you. This will probably be one of the most if not hardest puzzle game you will ever play. This is not like any other game that I have seen or played before, and let me tell you, it’s a breath of fresh air. This has helped me think outside of the box, trying to come up with different solutions, some of which included me looking like a complete weirdo with their phone. I also greatly enjoy the social aspect of this, it doesn’t force you to play with others, but it does give you a chance to be more social, which is another thing that I like about this game. Most games want your time and to be constantly on it most times of your day, however it encourages you to put your phone away and walk away from the puzzle to come back to it another time. Here’s your chance, challenge yourself and test your wits against others! Have fun and remember, think outside of the box!~

Fun at first. My biggest problem with the game is that the description is kinda lying. There are multiple puzzles that involve digging through settings on your phone, and interacting with menus in weird ways. That would be fine if everyone knew every function of their phones, but I’m not super tech savvy. Because of that every other puzzle is me just frustratedly digging through phone settings. Also, there are only so many ways you can interact with your phone without appearing crazy. It’s to the point where I’ve seen reviews where people can’t finish puzzles because they don’t own stuff like headphones or a plug in charger. fun interactions, that bystanders will love, include; screaming into your mic, moving your phone all over the place like you’re filming a bee, plugging in and unplugging peripherals, accidentally taking multiple screenshots (very fun having camera sounds come from your phone on a bus), turning your phones volume to max, and much much more.

Hard to figure out and etc. I’m not buying more puzzles. I’m still worried about the Face ID and more about my private information. Regardless, I feel like the game just pushes you for the hint credits. And the way the wording for purchases and sentences throws me off and makes me feel guilty for not donating or purchasing the puzzles. No sense of directions for many puzzles. I get like a couple, 2 or 3. Other times Im screaming in the mic, moving the camera around so clueless about what to do touching the power buttons, up and down volume buttons etc. but I do feel like people who have a bit of broken phones or glitched phones are at a high disadvantage. These people may not have the time or money to fix their phones just to play this game which would drive them away. The level design is simple but a lot of them are locked behind a paywall. If you give our information away to third parties you’re a complete sellout

Decent game, but I’m a bit bothered. I like the concept behind this game. I feel like it could help me navigate my new phone. But I’m frustrated because I spent quite some time and my limited free hint tokens trying to figure out a puzzle only to realize that it wanted me to plug in headphones— I don’t have wireless headphones or an adapter to use wired headphones because it didn’t come with the phone and I almost never use headphones with my phone, and I’m not about to spend money on stuff I don’t really need. I don’t think an app like this should require any hardware that doesn’t come with the most basic/barebones model on the market. I will probably continue to work on the other puzzles and I may even buy the full game. I’m just frustrated right now because I know the solution to the puzzle I wanted to solve, but I don’t have the means. (On the other hand, I really like that the hint tokens are reasonably priced— I’m unlikely to buy just because I feel like it’s a slippery slope to overspending and because I would be afraid to spend money only to find that the puzzle was physically prohibitive in some way, but I don’t feel like the developer is trying to take advantage of me. And of course I’m all for financially supporting a good game.) EDIT: I did pay for full version, I do think it was worth it. I’m still concerned about overall accessibility when it comes to needing anything external to the phone.

Highly recommend!. This is my first and only game I have ever bought in app purchases for, and they were definitely worth it. Unlike other games, this has no ads, but solely relies on donations in order to support the developer, who’s genuinely a really cool person. Also, even without purchasing more puzzles, the base game is still a delight. One minor nitpick, when resetting your progress, you lose all alternate app icons you may have unlocked. It would be nice to have an option to keep them, as sometimes they’re only available during holiday updates, but again, that’s only a minor issue. The game is constantly being updated with bug fixes and new puzzles even after 5 years, and it’s always fun to make new discoveries and find out new things!

Needs more for free. I love this game. It's absolutely great and really gets you thinking. Although it takes quite long to get through the levels there are only 50 free. I would much rather have to watch more ads (for extra hints ect) than to be limited to only 50 levels. Other than that. Amazing

Woah. Super creative, won’t spoil any of the puzzles but almost everything needs to be solved without touching the screen. I’ve learnt a lot of features and settings on my phone that I didn’t know about before!

Blackbox. An amazing game that is constantly pushing the limits you didn’t even know existed. It is a great game to play to get you thinking outside the box. Definitely all inclusive!. What an incredible experience!!! Not only… Has there been much design and thought into the implementation of this gaming experience. As a totally blind user of voice-over on the iPhone... The attention to details invested into the accessibility of blackbox for those of us with special needs also... is very much appreciated... and other developers out there... should take note and follow the example of Ryan McLeod... who is truly worthy of not only for 2017 Apple design award... but for many more California burritos to come.

Really interesting. I can tell that the game developer had heaps of fun coming up with ingenious ways to make games out of nearly every aspect of regular features of the phone. They also came up with fabulous snarky comments about what whacky things people were likely to try in order to figure out how to solve some of them. This game is a really fun puzzle where your phone is the game board. I’m still working on some of the trickier or more involved challenges. Highly recommended!

Funny and frustrating. It was both funny and frustrating. The little bits of humour added in the parts you least expect it are hilarious, like the burrito for Ryan. The puzzles were very hard, but rewarding once you finally workout the answer

Most impressive trivia. I’ve never come across a trivia game that stimulates my problem-solving skills in such a way. I’m genuinely stumped by a few of the challenges and I’m trying to get a friend to play it too (not going to say why here) but overall this is a fantastic game

You need to play this game.. This game is one of the best iOS games out there. The puzzles are challenging, constantly have you thinking ‘wait, he can do that?’, and lighting up a box never fails to bring a smile to the player’s face. An awesome game, you’ll be constantly wishing there were more puzzles, even after purchasing the two expansion packs that are even more amazingly difficult than the base game (not to mention the mostly hidden meta based puzzles that are just so satisfying to uncover and solve). A challenging and self-aware puzzle game with capabilities we weren’t aware were even possible when it came to iOS app development as well as a modern, sleek, and very thoughtful design from a witty developer come together to create Blackbox. You must play it.

Great game but one problem with a level. I love this game and I’ve been looking for one like this for ages. I know it isn’t completely ready for iPad but one level requires you to mute. Ipad kiiiinda has a mute button (the bell) not sure if I’m missing something but I can’t work it out

Great game but.... This game is one of the most creative games I’ve ever played! It required innovative solutions and an open mind to try and figure out how each challenge clicks together. There’s one challenge I can’t get, number 9, the orange one on the top right side. I’m 99% certain I have to mute it, but once I’ve muted it it won’t work. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or just my phone. Help me out!

Wow. Genuinely a super cool experience and a huge brain teaser. If you have enough time and your are alone (you don’t want to loom like a crazy person) this is a great game. It can be frustrating but eventually when you figure it out it’s so satisfying. A really alternative game experience

The only game I would ever spend money on. It is so rare to find a free game that is made purely for fun and intrigue that doesn't bombard you with ads every ten seconds. This is one of the most fun and pleasing apps ever made and the ingenuity behind each puzzle is amazing. All these reasons leads me now believe that the developer is worth feeding and the cost of the full game is completely worth it.

Good... but.. A great game! I’m hooked and I’ve gotten my family hooked onto the game as well. We have been playing non stop for the past few days trying mostly in vain so solve all of the puzzles. Loved the game so much I was willing to spend money on it... until they changed the prices on me. Didn’t realise that the prices would change on me and become doubled, I would have acted faster and bought the pack. So now I’m just stuck trying to solve the same ones over again. Great game, you’ll most certainly be racking your brain for the answers, but beware of mysterious price changes...

Best. Puzzler. Ever!. This game is a hard one, let me tell you that. But it's so....rewarding when that box you've been working on for a week goes 'bongggg'. It's very satisfying and lots of the puzzles will leave you lost for words and thinking: 'how did he do that?' My relative hooked me on this game, and I've become so engrossed in it I bought the extensions just so I can have some new puzzles. You can laugh at me if you want, but this game really is that good!

A Game from my Dreams!. Since about 2013 when I got my first iPhone, I’ve been imagining a game like this that integrates the features of the phone into its puzzles. I always wanted to make it myself because I never found an app like this but gave up on the project quite early. Almost 8 years later and I find out that Blackbox has been out for 5 and I didn’t even know. It was an instant download and purchase upgrade is a no brainer. This game is amazing in its simplicity yet fun through the challenging puzzles and clever design in play. It has surpassed anything I envisioned back then and will continue to surprise and amaze moving forward. Truly one of the best games you can get from the App Store and it will keep you coming back for more.

Decent game when it does have puzzles. Honestly, some of the puzzles are fun, but when the solution is “Share this game with a friend!” or “Rate this game on the App Store!”, it’s not a puzzle. Spoilers: Some of the solutions are very demanding- I believe one requires you to check the game hourly for 24 hours? And apparently another needs you to travel far enough and get to a high enough altitude to complete it. While I appreciate the sentiment, it’s not so much solving a puzzle as filling in a to-do list.

LOVED IT. I truly think this is an amazing game. It really makes you think and when you complete a challenge you think ‘why did I not think of that before’. This game deserves so much love and support because it’s so well done. One of the best games out there if not the BEST. Truly loved it, still playing the game and finding it difficult here and there. Great game. Very happily surprised that the dev replied to my rating. Maybe some more levels? I’m yet to complete all the free levels so I haven’t discovered anything that I don’t like about the game. I haven’t bought any levels either so maybe I should... I love the look of the game but it has seemed to crash/freeze on the rare occasion on my iPhone 6.

The game I’ve been looking for! 2.0…. This game is breathtaking as it brings in the system of the phone and the surrounding environment to complete the brain boggling puzzles! This game has left me speechless this is the first time I’ve played a actually challenging game. The one problem is… it needs more levels even though the starting ones are pretty challenging, you should add a difficulty section that divides them in a different part of the game, maybe once you finish all the levels it will show you the difficulty from easy to extreme. Overall, the game has a interesting idea that isn’t used in many other games which surprised me, not one of my FAVOURITE games but it is up there in the top 5! Ps. Im going to share this with my friends and watch them try to solve the puzzles and see their reactions. :3

Absolutely beautiful. This is one of the most beautiful, well thought out games that I have ever seen on mobile. It makes a player think outside the box, and allows them to feel such a great sense of pride when they complete it, Blackbox is a brilliant game.

Great game. This game is a perfect little time waster for when you are bored, it doesn’t push you to spend money or crowd you with ads which is better than most games on the App Store. I also love the concept of how you use the functions of the device like wifi or brightness. Just a warning to future players though, there are a few levels that require your mic, location or camera. The game will ask you for permission for those which is good.

Frustrating yet Satisfying. Such a good app... seriously makes you think long and hard. We spend so much time on our phones that you’d think it would be a breeze lighting these boxes up. There are some days where you want to launch your phone across the room and other days where you want to squeal with excitement for getting a puzzle right.

I have a problem. One of the levels, the one where you press the volume buttons and the off button, requires you to press the home button. There’s just one tiny problem... I don’t have a home button. Also the levels where you have to share the game is kinda annoying I just want the puzzles Other than that it’s a creative game and really fun and will make you feel like an idiot

Love this game. I’m so hooked! The puzzle REALLY DO make you think outside the box, some you need to move the screen around, some want you to change the volume, and some want you to change the time entirely! It’s the best!

Absolutely incredible.. This is the one app I’ve been coming back to for an entire year or so. It’s witty and keeps you thinking outside the whole phone, and it’s been an absolute delight to have something keep my attention for this long.

Give me more games like this. I have only just discovered this game and honestly shocked it took me so long. I love the out of box design and thinking that keeps the game moving and you coming back for more and more. The snarky comments of when I try beat the system rocks and I can’t wait to see what more I discover and shake my head at. Its innovative and low key tech savvy smarts required thrown in and gives great accomplishment when you win a task. Definitely a game I’m happy to spend some dollars on though wish I could have hints on Easter eggs 👍

Black box. Intensely frustrating, mind-boggling fun that has just the right amount of complexity, allowing for that sense of satisfaction when you complete a level. Truly fantastic and first one I've seen of its kind. Love your work and hope you make more!

Engage. This app has me locked in to find every little hidden secret that could or couldn’t be in any nook n cranny within the game. I feel as if there are many more challenges hidden that are seen normally, and I won’t spoil the ones that are... Even with one last square to light up, the creators get you to use your phone in a way where you may have never even thought possible, to solve the simplest puzzle/riddle, and always got me questioning how or if they could actually do that. Either way, a must have app, and I highly recommend if you want to be stuck playing it!

Amazing. I’m quite amazed with how creative this game is. We’re so used to touching the screen for everything now that it’s crazy that to solve all the puzzles requires no screen touching at all. I still catch myself pressing the screen out of habit but I love the idea that you can solve the puzzles without it. Can’t wait to finish the puzzles I have left

AMAZING GAME. The structure of the game, the art style of the challenges and the level of difficulty is perfectly curated. The creators have clearly put in so much thought and humor and life into each aspect of it, and it is truly a work of art. The amount of times I’ve rage quitted and then gone back to it minutes later. Seriously download it now do it do it now.

I love this game!. This game is so fun! But it’s also hard don’t get me wrong. Unlike other games, they don’t really force you to get the premium because there are so many amazing free games. I love that for some levels, you don’t just get it for finishing a level, you actually have to do something, like a secret level. Anyways, I absolutely love this game, and totally recommend it.

What a creative rarity. I’ve read reviews but I think few tap into the game’s import: its creativity based on nothing other than the most down-to-earth everyday experience with iPhone, and what curiosity and freshness it brings forth! (Warning: Spoilers Ahead) Whether it is the fingerprint verification process that miraculously fails 3 times in a row (in one of those days), or summoning Siri to launch the game, black box stems from iPhone and successfully creates a sort of invisible intimacy and unity between the game, iPhone and more importantly, Life with iPhone.

Not responding to anything. Is this app compatible with IPhone 11s? Because the tutorial was barely working for me (I was tilting the phone but almost so response at all) and when I finally passed that none of the levels responded to movement or actions at all, people are talking about comment and statements I didn’t see anything like that also I got a square that was yellow with two lines outlining the shape; I didn’t know what that was supposed to be and there so no like information tab to refer to so Idk maybe that would be a good idea of a thing to put in but yeah, disappointed because it seemed like fun.

One of the most creative games I’ve ever played. This is one of the very few puzzle apps which genuinely had me thinking outside of the box. I cannot tell you how smart I feel when I manage to figure out how to fill a square. It’s also a really fun way for me to get more familiar with my phone and test my memory as to just what this little box of metal can do. Also, love the little secrets you’ve added in, developer. Won’t give anything away but it’s super cool to have explorations in the app rewarded just as much as completing a level. So worth the money I spent for all the levels. Hopefully your game reaches more people because this is some of the most fun I’ve had completing puzzles in a very long time.

One of the best games yet. Absolutely hooked on this game! All the challenges are so different from anything I’ve seen anywhere else! My only complaint is that there aren’t very many puzzles, although as it’s a new game I’m assuming this will develop over time!

Best Game Concept and Production. This is the best game I’ve ever played. You will spend way too long trying to figure out some puzzles and kick yourself when you do. Bug!. I’m so upset! I waited for almost 10 days without turning my phone off to pass the puzzle with red dots. Went to “General” settings tho morning to turn off background app refresh to save my battery life and later took a look into the puzzle to see if I today it will finally get solved. And all the red dots from previous 9 days are gone! I wasn’t cheating and didn’t change my time or date,nothing… That’s so frustrating and unfair as I’ve waited for almost 10 days and for what?!Will probably just delete the app.

Impressive. I have to give it up to the dev, this game has exceeded my expectations so far. No Ads. Funny dialogue. These puzzles are actually pretty challenging, and with the hint option having a good way of telling you what needs to be done without not actually telling outright (which is what a hint is supposed to do), it doesn’t decrease the sense of satisfaction when you complete that particular “module”. The game integrates with just about everything on the phone, which blows my mind (and makes me second guess what other data can be read and received, and why there aren’t more apps that utilize these data reading capabilities). I can’t wait to see how much this app expands.

Too deep in the game to write a review, amazing game!!!. 10/10 This is a game that will break your brain if you try to follow conventional thinking, this game is definitely a must get for any problem solver. You really have to try and tackle this app with a open and different mindset than normal, expect to do unexpected things to solve these puzzles. I don’t care how this sounds but I’m hard pressed to actually call this a game, it’s more of a immersive experience that you can’t pull yourself away from. It’s really clever but…. I really like Blackbox!! It really challenged me to think outside the box! The idea is really clever and I enjoyed most of the levels! But.. I do have a few suggestions: some of the levels are way too demanding!! For example, one of the levels has you go to a high altitude and really far. Another level requires you to charge to 100% and then drop to 10%! That’s not that demanding, but- like how are we supposed to know to do that without a use of a hint!! Also, some of the levels just don’t give you anything to work with! It’s just a plain light. Like I tried everything but i can’t get it! Maybe try to add a little something to naturally hint us or give us something to work with.. Overall, I think Blackbox is a pretty good game!

Brilliant but Lacking. Difficult, Delightful...Unsettling: all easily describe this game. Makes you think about checking privacy policies on apps more often; there were many moments where I thought "oh, I didn't know it could know that." I've finished all of the levels I can aside from those that, in the interest of avoiding spoilers, require a little more commitment. I'm pretty confident that I know how to solve them and some are partway done. But it didn't take me long at all to get this far and I'm left wondering, "is that all?" Really hope more levels are incoming. Not for the price particularly but because I want more levels to solve! I wanted to give it 5 stars but yeah, I'm definitely disappointed at how quickly it can be finished. Also...more seriously I wish the privacy policy for this game was a bit more clear about types of data collected and whether or not that data is shared beyond telling some Ad software where I live. I don't want to ramble on that in a review especially since apps I use daily already collect invasive types of data as well, but it certainly doesn't make me feel good.

Amazing Game!. First off I would like to say this game is amazing! Before I got it I thought it would be one of those games that’s actually really easy. But I was very wrong the first challenge was kinda easy but the ones after that are so fun a mad challenging! Although the app does require you to download other apps, but some people may not be able to pay for or won’t be be allowed to get them. Obviously you have to have some in app purchases or the people that made the game wouldn’t gat any money, but maybe the in app purchases shouldn’t be super important to solving some puzzles. I also think it would be cool to be able to fret your own levels and be able to share them! But other than that this game so amazing and fun even if it gets on your nerves sometimes. 👍

Best Puzzle Game!. There are not a lot of quality puzzle games out there. Most seem to be too easy, too hard, or similar to other games. That is not true of Blackbox. It is not too easy, not too hard, and it is definitely unique due to the fact that the puzzles can be solved using different iPhone functions. One suggestion: please, please, please consider adding a Blackbox deck of cards with custom backs, faces, and tuck box to the merch. That is something I would definitely buy. Anyway, keep up the amazing work. I hope you keep adding amazing puzzles because, if I may say it, you, sir, are a genius. Oh and enjoy the coffee and burrito I bought you😉

Paywall. It starts off really cool until you reach a certain amount of completed challenges, then to unlock more than what’s half of the remaining challenges you need to pay $5.30 (the tax included based on my region) just to keep having more “fun”. I feel like this paywall is a rip-off because there’s locked merch you can get based on how many challenges you complete and in the message it says “Complete (#) more challenges to unlock this. It’s almost like I don’t want your money.” You read that correctly, “IT’S ALMOST LIKE I DON’T WANT YOUR MONEY” but you unlock the first one and you have to pay almost $10 to get the 3 poor quality stickers that they consider “merch”. There’s also a very difficult challenge that you unlock after the paywall that can’t be completed unless you get a flight on an airplane. Not everyone can afford a plane ticket.

Programming genius. Let me begin this with a simple statement. THIS GAME IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you hate puzzle games that require abstract hints, you will hate this game. With that out of the way, this game is an incredible meta game! Never have I seen a game that I have to open up another app just to get the next part of a puzzle nor have I seen a game where you can change the icon in game! It is a programming treat! My only complaints are that the game crashes frequently, though considering how advanced this game is, I understand that crashes will happen, and that there are so few puzzles. I do not know how often the maker adds puzzles, though I can spend days trying to figure out a puzzle. An excellent meta puzzle game!

GENIUS. I have been looking for a game thats unique. A lot of these games are repetitive and boring, but with Blackbox every level is different and so well thought out. This app completely expands what i ever thought was possible on a phone. Its stupid fun. Like the certain level with the 🔒 (if you know you know) is absolutely brilliant. And also the little hidden levels like the certain level where u go where your not supposed to and you fight the dev for that “shiny thing” its just so fun, all the context and stuff is pretty funny too. Great game 50/10. Love it, keep it up. Best game I've ever had. And to anyone new, the game will take patience, but the key is to think outside of the box! 🤪😉

Unbelievably Satisfying and Testing. I was bored and had nothing to do on my phone one day. I went to the App Store and scrolled thru hundreds of apps that had no appeal at all. Then I found it, like water in a desert. Under Indie games, I found a curious looking application that tickled my brain. This would be the last time my brain would be tickled, for this game pulled a full Muhammad Ali on my cranium. Yet, when I just happened to solve one of these queries, It felt as if I had one the lottery but better. This game shatters the limits of what a app could a can be, brilliantly at that. I would suggest this to anyone who likes a good shake-of-the-head puzzle to pass the time. Two thumbs up, five stars, just perfect

My requests and review. Hello, I think that Blackbox is actually super fun and challenging of course but I wish that there was a daily gift thing that you could eventually earn credits by playing daily because they give you credits in the beginning but ya know I didn’t really get the game in the beginning so I used them up…and I don’t feel like buying any or even the “all knowing pack” which gives you access to all of the puzzles, but besides the point it’s a really good game to have. I wouldn’t say it calms you when your stressed it probably makes you even more stressed but it’s for the fun of it 😄 I hope this helps!

Great challenging fun but..... First of all I want to thank you for creating such a fun and challenging game, I don’t think I have spent as much time in or kept coming back to any other puzzle game as I have with this one, I appreciate the hard work and the new puzzles and the frequent updates, but with one of the last updates I started experiencing app crashes every now and then when I open a puzzle from the main screen. Nothing that a fresh launch from the home screen doesn’t fix, but frustrating none the less. Again thanks for the hard work and fun challenges. And good luck with future updates, I’m looking forward to what you come up with next.

Okay but the hints are hard to figure out sometimes. This game is super fun and challenging. I would recommend it if you want a challenge in your life. I wouldn't recommend it if you are like me and are easy to give up. I used all my hint credits and now this app just takes up storage. I love it though when I have the time for it. I have a stressful life and this game adds to the stress. Also some of the hints are difficult to find out like I'm on a level with like these slide things and the hint says touch me, touch me, touch me. but it doesn't make any sense because You can't really touch the screen. Other than that this game is very fun and I would recommend it to almost everyone.

This game is fantastic.. This is easily the best puzzle game I have ever downloaded on my phone. Every once in a while I go on a tangent, looking for a new puzzle game to download because I love having my brain and creativity put to the test. I like things that engage me and make me think, and I love the things that have obscure answers staring you right in the face without you even realising it. Blackbox delivers so much. I’ve never found more entertainment in a puzzle game in my life, either on my phone or my computer. Every puzzle is a visual riddle with visual cues, and you have to question what it wants you to do without touching your screen. Give it a try, and don’t give up. Keep exploring, keep going back to puzzles you thought you couldn’t solve, and most importantly... Think outside the Blackbox.

Whoa.. This is not your average puzzle game. That Ryan guy is super creative and i really appreciate how everything is put together. Its usually like a free app that isnt actually free and requires a subscription to use or has an obnoxiously ridiculous amount of ads. Ryan used the right approach. A one time purchase and a sample of the game that is very fun and interactive and actually had me puzzling for weeks (foreshadowing the months of discipline to not look up the answers for the paid ones). But, oh my god these puzzles are creative man. Props. Most puzzle games are so dumb or so unoriginal but this, i dont even touch the screen! Just charge my phone, be quiet, drive to a higher elevation, wow. Love the art style too. Great creation, man! Keep doing what your doing ryan!

Blackbox is a good puzzle game but one of the levels require changing the language and I didn’t know how to change it back since I didn’t know which settings mean language luckily my parents understand the language so they changed it back and I was saved but not everyone has a parent that knows a different language also never gonna give you up never gonna let you down never gonna run around and desert you hehe rickrolled. ⬛️. Never have I been compelled to write a review for an app before (needless to say I am slightly bored and haven’t been able to crack any of my new puzzles) but Blackbox has really done it. I love the minimalism, audio, and how stupid you look playing it sometimes. I also like how smart and witty the whole thing is. Good job Ryan, I’m sorry I can’t get you a burrito. I feel so accomplished when I crack one which I something I don’t really get from other apps. I definitely recommend this app to anyone. Even if you don't like these types of games and just came to see what other stuff you could find on the AppStore, just give it a try. You’ll like something. ◼️

One of my all-time favorite puzzle games, period.. Blackbox is the type of game that you will never forget. A game that sets itself apart from the others in its genre. One that will pop into your head at random moments of the day and inspire you to keep solving. It’s a breath of fresh air from the frequent tapping and scrolling that we do in our day to day lives and forces us not only to think outside of the box to solve the puzzles, but to think about the blackbox in our hands and how creatively we can use it. Without giving too much away, I can guarantee that this game will leave you wanting more because there is nothing else like it out there.

Amazing game would recommend!. This game is full of so many interesting challenges some of them may take a longtime but actually the answer is right under your nose! It is extremely fun but I get lost really easy so it’s a good game to test your brain :) the only thing is, once you get the game you get some BOXS but then after you get far into the game it makes you pay for most of them. I read a review that there is someway to unlock it without paying unless it was a glitch because it has worked for a bunch of people. Please get this game! And I would rate it 4 1/2 but they don’t let you do that so I’ll give it a five.

Love it, but.... Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this game. However, some of the player interaction with the UX doesn’t feel quite right. As a game developer myself, though, I do understand that that is fairly hard to get into that sweet spot. Aside from that, I do love the puzzles. One puzzle in particular, however, I am finding hard to complete. It’s the one that involves using light that the camera detects. As of the time I’m writing this, I have not found a light source bright enough to solve it. At the very least, I know what I need to do to get it, but I would like it if the light required for it was a bit dimmer. Please continue working on the game! Hopefully we’ll see new puzzles or features soon.

Incredibly fun, just the right amount of tricky!. As someone who loves puzzles but is usually pretty bad at them I was worried I’d be stumped by this game. However, it does a great job at giving you just enough information to solve while not making the answer obvious. Each puzzle could easily take days, or even just a few minutes and that variation is super fun- it’s exhilarating when you get it right away and really satisfying to rack after being stuck on one for a week. Those hints certainly help too tho lol! I only gave it 4 stars as I’m playing on an iPad rather than an iPhone, and some puzzles are def more tailored for a more portable device, and one that doesn’t have to be connected to the internet all the time. Incredibly enjoyable game though and one I absolutely recommend to anyone who loves puzzles.

Unlike anything you’ve ever played…spectacular!. This game is like nothing you have ever played—the puzzles are creative and unique, and provide challenging puzzles that brings on frustration…but when you complete them it’s all the more rewarding! To be honest, I didn’t think it would be so hard, but I was proven wrong! Definitely recommend, this game really makes you think more ‘outside the box’ and makes you use every aspect of your phone, not just the screen. And it’s completely free, and ad-free. I was scrolling through the reviews, and noticed that somebody said that they got a notification that they were one of the top players, but didn’t get a reward. I received the same message, and also didn’t get anything. It seems that this type of thing happens to me a lot, because I also got a message when I opened the game that said I had a free gift in the store, so I went to the store, but did not receive anything. I don’t know if I just misunderstood, or what, but I just wanted to say something because apparently other people have had that problem too. I hope you read this Ryan. It’s still a great game. 💓⬛️

Cannot stop playing. This is the ultimate when it comes to puzzle games. This goes beyond what a puzzle game even is. This game opens your mind to the possibilities of what a puzzle game can be. Ever since I downloaded this game I cannot stop playing. The best part is, your never told how to play. You don't even have the advantage of basics. It's a puzzle game only for the strong minded and determined because it will attempt to break you, it will try to make you hate it to the very core, but you must not give in. This game is the only puzzle game of it's kind and I will continue to play it until the developer stops improving it. Keep it up, and here's a burrito :)

I LOVE this game!. This us one of my new all time favorites as it is engaging but rewarding when you solve a puzzle. I love the quirky messages and notifications, so keep those up. I haven't bought the expansion, but I plan on doing so soon! One suggestion: you should probably eat more than just burritos and drink coffee. Maybe add a healthy alternative? Or maybe a dessert? I'm sure this'll help you a lot. All in all, I love this game and it deserves 5-star reviews. I hope the developer sees this and knows how awesome I think his game is. I'm doing my part to help with the angry people who don't realize that game developers need to eat too and rated this game 1 star. Thank you so much, and keep up the good work!

Soooooo Fun. I am only 12, but I have been able to figure out a lot of levels. My favorite was probably the “Undo this level” very clever! There are a few that keep telling me to have patience... does that mean change the time or just sit there and stare at the screen. I am only twelve and I cant buy more levels or hints as much as I want to. Please reward the smarter people with hints... for ex. If some one is absolutely stuck then they can solve a riddle or something. To wrap it up... Get this game. Every time you beat a level you get a fuzzy feeling inside(except if you don’t have a clue how you beat the level... I have done that a couple of times). Great job! Keep it up! Can’t wait for the new levels!

Finally, some original thought!. I have left mobile gaming for a while, especially when all of the clone games came out. I had lost all hope in mobile games! But after the iOS 11 update, I saw this and instantly downloaded it. I love puzzle games, but normal puzzle games get boring for me and I lose interest. After seeing three puzzles I knew this was the game that I would love, and I do! This is an original game, I’ve never seen anything like this that involves so many new ideas! This gave me hope that the AppStore does have good games, and this should be an introduction to the quality that games should be, if you enjoy puzzle games, you will love this, there has never been a puzzle game like this, I won’t spoil anything though.

It’s “good”. I have no idea when or how I downloaded this on my phone I’m pretty sure it was Devine intervention. But when I saw it I decided to open the potential malware and that was the best decision I have ever made in my life (it was not) I was immediately frustrated with the difficulty of the first challenge and after about 5 minutes of frustration and finicking with my phone I looked up the answer and immediately found bloodlust surging through my body because of the simplicity of the difficulty. I 9/9 recommend this game and if you've hated yourself for years or just starting out this game is an upgrade pack! Have fun thanks for making my life better!! (that’s a lie)

You have no idea how hard it is to not look up a walkthrough. I love a good puzzle; ever since the days of Myst and putting together puzzles with my mom, I’ve been drawn to them. So, anytime a good puzzle game comes along, I tend to try it out. I remember playing Blackbox when it first came out and getting frustrated. It took COVID to prompt my rediscovery of the game. I must say, the care and consideration that went into the creation of this game is immense. I find myself coming back day after day to divine the answers to many of these puzzles; I feel it’s a good sign for a puzzle game when I can solve some of the puzzles within easily, but others tempt me immensely to read a walkthrough. Up for a challenge? Give this a shot!

The Blackbox. The little girl sitting there alone in her room stairs down at the strange black box in her hand it keeps moving keeps making noise but being silent all at the same time it confuses her makes her wonder what’s going on within her to bare hands but then there’s a dash there’s an explosion sparks fly everywhere her eyes wide open as she screams at the sound she’s so scared but yes so curious she looks back down at her hands whenever the smoke fades away and all she sees is a little coin with a little square in the middle it’s a hint a hint to life she must collect all three or four as many as there is within the world she is not alone there is more hunting for these coins she must find them she is on her own

Challenging game. Blackbox is an iOS puzzle game for practicing creative thinking by solving puzzles that generally don’t involve touching the screen; it’s a growing collection of 70+ puzzles that are solved with things, places, timing, careful thoughts, and other outside the box thinking. It’s a hard game to explain and hard to get out of your head once you start. It’s an Apple Design Award winner and is free so why not give it a try? Individual challenges are represented by “lights” that turn on and stay on once solved. Each light/challenge is unique and has its own hint if a player gets really stuck. These hints are revealed with hint credits which are provided to new players, can be bought, or earned by referring new players.

I am angry. This is a good game, it’s cool, whatever, but I’m stuck on this stupid level where the screen is filled with black boxes on a white screen that fluctuate when u move the phone. I’ve unlocked the last 2 hints and they aren’t helpful and idk what to do. The green box thing will only go so far and I can’t finish it and I’m about to cry cuz it’s impossible and idk what to do and nothing is recent enuf online to include this level. Plz just tell me what to do or something cuz it kinda ruins the whole game and I’m like panicking cuz I can’t even do it by cheating and looking online and this is giving me rly bad anxiety. Maybe you just hav to be absolutely perfect in order to get it rite, idk, but at this point I don’t even wanna play anymore cuz I’m like this close to a panic attack ugh

Most unique puzzle game. This is one of those puzzle games where you really have to think outside the box (both figuratively and literally) to solve the puzzles. Every puzzle will give you one of those "eureka" moments when you finally figure out the solution. My only complaint is that a few of the hints are so vague that they aren't even helpful. I respect the developer's decision to not just give you the answer when you unlock a hint, but when you pay a handful of credits to unlock a hint it's kind of annoying when you are given a riddle that's as vague as the puzzle you are stuck on. This is a very small complaint, but just something worth noting.

Super fun and very creative.. When I take my daily scroll through the App Store looking for some game that I can play to waste time, yet feel like I'm accomplishing something, I am met with nothing but disappointment. Hardly ever is there a challenging, yet entertaining game in the deepest crevices of the "What We're Playing Today" category. However, this game reminds me why I choose to live. This game is the epitome of mobile gaming entertainment and I will not stop trying until the developer becomes the richest man alive, because he deserves all that and more for the great deed he's done in creating this game. Ryan, if you're reading this, I want to personally thank you for once again bringing purpose to my life. God bless you.

Awesome!. I’ve been reading through the bad 1-star reviews and just wanted to set some things straight. First, don’t say the game is stupid or confusing just because you don’t understand it. Not everyone has common sense. It isn’t the game’s fault. Second, I don’t understand why people think it’s a scam. This game is very fun and unique and unlike any other game, and is very well developed in my opinion. Great quality, no suspicious elements or anything. You don’t have to allow the game to access contacts, camera, microphone, etc. It makes it clear that they are only for adding new possibilities to the limits of the levels. Such a fun game! Always challenging and so satisfying when you complete a level. P. S. I hope every $2.99 you get really does go towards coffee.

Love Blackbox Just One Urgent Problem. Okay so I just got Blackbox maybe two days ago and I already love it to pieces, which is rare considering I don’t really play games. Blackbox makes you think, without physically touching anything inside that app, and for the most part you don’t even touch the screen. This is unlike any game I’ve ever played and I would recommend it to other. I only wish that 50% of the levels were not available through purchase. However, I’m here for one MAIN reason. With one of the puzzles, where it says “hello” in different languages, I keep getting kicked out of the app. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’m positive this is not just happening to me. Just a few things ;). This game is amazing!! I don’t often write reviews for games, but I can’t help but love this game. I never thought it possible to do half the things you put into this app! I have, however, gotten a bit stuck of a few levels. This is nothing against the app but… take for example the sound level. I understand the gimmick of blowing or “sh”ing into the mic to cause the bubbles that fill the boxes, but that top one just won’t fill. The hints suggest the “shh”, and I did that the point I was out of breath. But the top box, though being covered by bubbles multiple times, never filled. Do you think this might be a bug, or am I just doing something wrong? Still, great game, love everything about it!

Mixed feelings. I love the game. It's literally my favorite game. I did, however, quit playing when I ran out of boxes. I just had no idea how to get anymore and my friend and I searched online for hours and we tried every thing possible. I got quite a few boxes, payed for some, found out secret ones from tips but it would be cool if the game could notice someone is severely stuck and it pop out a hint on how to get another box. Maybe have a limit of hints it would give but that would be really cool or maybe let out riddles or something on social media for us to solve so we can find another challenge? That would be cool. Play a game, with the game, outside of the game, for the game. Haha. I dunno I just thought I'd throw out some ideas I thought of.

Best puzzle game ever. I love this game, it pushes the envelope on what I thought was possible from a puzzle game. I have played and completed all the room games and the thing about those games is that once you complete it it’s done. But with black box no two puzzles are the same and you guys are constantly developing new ones. Which is by far its best quality, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who would wait till they forgot the other games and would play it again, but I don’t experience the same thought provoking need to play as with the first play. But Blackbox has found a way to do it. I hope there are more puzzles to come.

Infuriatingly brilliant. Exactly the kind of game I needed.. I love this game. I mean, I also hate this game, but I love this game. From the integration with other apps to the usage of the motion/light/sound sensors, Blackbox is absolutely brilliant. The only thing I would suggest is in challenges where doing things in a specific order is required (I'm thinking in particular of that teal one that requires you to open the hint screens) making it easier to redo it if you make a mistake. I figured out what I was supposed to do only after doing it wrong and now I can't seem to reset it. But seriously. If you derive any enjoyment from puzzle games, download this one. You will be entertained/frustrated for hours. 10/10.

horrendeous UI. Horrendeous UI, can't even tell when a challenge is complete due to the "minimalist aesthetic" that just comes down to being confusing and inconsistent. I do not enjoy using various features of the phone like the volume slider, turning wifi and data off, etc, id rather interact with a phone in the game rather than messing with my own hardware and OS settings. The first level is an absolutely horrendeous introduction, as you will fill in the color over a block and it will not be "solved", instead needing to rotate it in a different orientation to fill it with the same solid color to "solve" it. It's such an obvious fix to use different colors that are accesed by different orientations, but its like the first level is deliberately designed to be confusing and inconsistent with its own ruleset just to arbitrarily confuse the player. From the start the game is holding up the middle finger and telling you it doesnt have to follow any set of rules or logic. How fitting and ironic this game is on the iOS.

Amazingly crafted. I mean, at first I was skeptical of this game because it was so hard, but then I realized that you had to really think about what’s on the screen, and then I realized how clever this is. Every puzzle is cryptic and you have figure out what to do, and its probably something you would have never thought to do. And when you finally finish the puzzle it gives you an immense feeling of satisfaction. That’s what I really like about the game. You have to think outside of the box. And even the hints are cryptic, but it gives away just enough that you can figure it out on your own. So I’m giving this a five stars even though at first it is quite possibly the hardest game ever.

Best game of all time. I cannot even express how good this game is! The creator clearly put his heart and soul into this game and it turned out amazing! You can see his personality show through into it. It’s incredibly fun, frustrating, and addicting and I only just started! There are a few in app purchases, which I NEVER pay for normally, but for this game I already have and will continue! I don’t want to buy the hints but I appreciate that I can support the developer via the app by buying him coffee and lunch as well as a one time fee to unlock way more levels! And even if you don’t want to spend any money that’s okay because there is plenty of frustration packed into every free level!

It’s... fine, not really for me though. It’s... a little weird, and hard to grasp. It’s too challenging for me, and I can see how some would like that, but puzzles where you basically do relatively random trial and error until something happens just isn’t super great. Considering the fact that for some reason, I can’t use the swipe up menu in game, and that seems like it might be a relatively large part of the game in general. So, I dunno, the puzzles seemed like they might eventually start giving you more and more helpful hints and ideas, at least for those in the beginning, but I don’t know if the success is worth the frustration and lack of direction. And, the fact that you have to pay for what is basically all of the game beyond the tutorial feels pretty bad.

Problem with Location.. Hey guys! Firstly I gotta say I love this game so much, I’ve unlocked almost all levels except for the three vertical light blue squares. I tried resetting my location whilst on a plane with my internet shut off and no wifi. This made all location levels stop working. I tried deleting the app and re-downloading it, reseting the location while on ground and several different things but it doesn’t work. I was hoping you had any suggestions as to what I should do to fix it? I understand that I was stupid for resetting location in a place where no location could be detected, but I didn’t think it would break the game forever. Please help!

The Best Puzzle Game. I have been looking all over the app store to find a perfect puzzle game for me but all of them not only have ads, but they are not the best graphics. Blackbox has amazing graphics and is come pretty free. There is only one concern about it, is that not all the puzzles are free. I wish that there were more free puzzles since when I finished all the free puzzles, the game was pretty much useless. Some puzzles were so hard that I nearly gave up but, then when all of a sudden, I had just found the solution. This puzzle was the specific dark- purple puzzle near the pink and the green wi-fi one. Overall, good game and graphics but yes, as I know, not all good things are free.

Excellent game, tons of fun. This game is fantastic. Nothing feels better then that moment when “the light comes on” and you figure out a challenge you’ve been puzzling over for a while. And then, not only do you get that feeling, YOU ACTUALLY GET YO WATCH THE LIGHT COME ON AFTER YOU SOLVE IT!!! At first I though the extra packs were a little too expensive for what they contained, considering how much you get for free originally. Then I realized how much I got for free and didn’t mind counting some of what I paid for the extras towards the initial game. Basically, this game is a great deal and you should play it even if you choose to only play the free levels. But the paid packs are worth it, they really are.

HOLY MOLY. I got to say this game is my ultimate favorite game of 2018. No one can say that I don’t know what I’m talking about because this game is pure originality. Talk about THE HARDEST GAME you’ve ever played. But the addicting hard. The one that keeps you coming back for more. I spent about 2 hours playing this game, no lie hahaha. After beating one level I feel so happy and satisfied, because I know I worked my brain in order to figure out these challenges. But you must know, THIS GAME IS NOT A GAME FOR JUST LAYING IN YOUR BED AND RELAXING!!! This game requires you to think COMPLETELY out of the box, hence the title, Blackbox. It boggles your brian and may even have you holding your breath! Some levels do require you to move around so just a heads up! Have fun and enjoy this crazy, mysterious, and entertaining game! Very interesting and creative app. I really like this app because it makes the player have to think outside of the phone as for most challenges you don’t need to touch the screen. This is a really interesting and original concept that most people wouldn’t have thought of. Although it does require you to pay to play most of the levels, there are still some hidden levels you can unlock by doing certain actions. (One of these may require you to check the settings for the app ;)). This is a 4 star review as you have to pay to play most of the levels which some people can’t afford. Overall a really entertaining and creative game.
