So I'm learning bass and at first this app was great, but then something started to bother me. Notes that I was obviously playing correctly weren't being counted and it would say I did it wrong. This is incredibly annoying, especially when you're trying to get to the next lesson. So this resulted in me getting so angry I threw my iPad across a room. Honestly good idea but I wouldn't recommend.
I really enjoy this app. It allows me to do things I wouldn’t other wise have the means or motive to do. I have a hard time with retention & it allows me to repeat what I’m struggling with multiple times. Amazing so far.
Good, a bit pricy for some. May be a reasonable substitute for A human when expediency and situations demand, but the human teacher is best.
Picked up a guitar a week ago knowing nothing and have found this app a godsend! Easy, fun and very well made. Worth every penny
I love this app, but something is going on where I have to tap below the button to make it work... annoying cause sometimes it takes me like 5-6 try’s to get it
I think it is a great way to effectively learn different instruments. From the minute I got it, I was addicted!
I'm learning how to play bass guitar and this has been the best tool I've found by far. I tried one-on-one lessons for a while but was having way more fun and making way more progress with Yousician. I signed up for the premium service for 12 months (which was less than a month worth of lessons) and I play it almost every day. There are little snags, of course but they are never more than an inconvenience that is almost always resolved by rebooting the iPad. Otherwise it is flawless and I truly look forward to advancing to the next song, the next skill, and the next level. Special thanks to the crew at Yousician for constantly adding fun and challenging new songs. Thanks also to the other Yousician users who add great popular songs to the available tracks. Please keep 'me coming!
This app is amazing! Really helps you learn how to play with the small mini games after each cord you learn, and listens to make sure you are playing the right note! Wouldn’t be where I am without it!
Im trying to learn a melody and writting the notes down is incredibly hard since im struggling for it to accept the notes the touch sensibility is quite strong i have trouble for it to accept it
It works most of the time but sometimes it doesn’t read the sounds of my guitar correctly. I spend my limited practice time trying to get the app to read the strings and chords correctly but it never does.
Yousician is really helpful
It is the best I used to not know how to play I am the best it is so fu N!!!!!'!!!!!!!!!!
I think this app is great but could you please let us compose songs on piano
Never played guitar before this is great to play along
Love it but costly. Worth it if its the only app you are going to learn from.
This app is an absolute godsend!! 🙌🏼 I haven't had this much motivation to play in years. Since downloading this app a few months ago though, I have played for over 100 hours! (The app logs your playtime, so you can keep track!) It's easy to use, the lessons are plentiful and broken down well for beginners - it's literally everything you could ask for if you're looking to learn a new instrument, or even just brush up on your skills. The only thing I wish this app had was the option to record your performances to listen to/share to social media, perhaps even with a video function. That's the only thing I can think of that would make this app totally complete! 👌🏻
Turns the tediousness of trying to learn guitar basics in ti fun game with set goals
When you play a perfect note it says try again. I think it is a total scam. 😤😡
I can afford lessons so this is my 'go to'. I love being able to play anywhere, anytime. It's like Guitar hero with a rear guitar. Such a great way to learn as a total newbie to the instrument.
Automatically renews itself and charges 175 dollars to you account, shameful behaviour
@alaslipknot Thank you so much for the suggestion! Have you checked our Feedback Forum already?
@schecpiece We can help! Can you shoot us a DM? We'll get back to you ASAP!
@yousician Bass fingering on Yousician can be horrible!!! Please stick to the one-finger-per-fret approach. Are you testing these songs???
I tried yousician because I was curious to see how it worked. I download and tried it, deleted it because it was a free trial. I never authorized a yearly subscription. They charged me 128.69 and when I contacted them to cancel the transaction they told me to call iTunes customer service. I spent hours going back and forward between this vendor and iTunes only to be told that the either iTunes or the vendor had to cancel and refund the transaction. It’s been MONTHS and I still haven’t seen my $128.69. I just want my money back.
As a beginner, I could only go so far on my own. This has given me the ability to challenge myself and to learn how to learn! I have been playing off and on barely for years and have never gotten close to as advanced in my skills as I have since I started using this app!
Like it starts off with you doing a practice and then stops when you miss a note then after awhile it jumps straight into a song your fingers aren’t ready for and you’ll have a hard time
Yousician is so far the best thing I used to learn how to play but there are problems with the keys. When I use yousician it is always saying that I’m using A flat when on the beginning screen. It’s good but there are some problems
This is a great idea but the format is very frustrating and as an intermediate guitar player, none of the lessons teach efficiently, mostly leaving you to your own devices to figure it out. In addition, if the only direction I got when starting out were the videos, there is no way I’d be a half decent guitar player. They really baby down every little thing, some give incorrect information, and do nothing to help you improve your skills. Also, the app is VERY unfriendly to left-handed people and caused me to screw up my skills assessment when you start because you can’t choose left-handed mode from the start
Great app, but I think the Fancy chord section should get more attention, as it is a bit confusing and difficult to learn.
This is the bast app I’ve ever used, it has all kinds of my favorite songs and all on tabs, I don’t even have to look up on the internet anymore! It has amazing methods for learning and most of the songs to learn on are great examples.
Really makes learning fun. A great app for beginners to stay motivated
The whole thing should be for Christmas Day
I wanted to start from the beginning since I think it’d be best to re learn what little I knew, which was very very little. But this app is so frustrating. To learn an instrument it’s important to learn the notation, it’ll just come and bite you in the butt later. And when I’d practice and get it wrong it’d stop and mess with my rhythm. Now I play other instruments and usually would catch on fast, this app didn’t help me but hurt me instead. I think I’ll just stick to learning from a book. This app is so frustrating and not worth it.
