Difficult, tedious, not for autistic people... The picture of the sweet little girl being carried by a bubble is not an accurate description of the game.. its not a gentle fluid game, its tedious and the people in the game the girl has to talk to are not encouraging and she has to do everything herself and things creek, and make noises, just cant enjoy the cuteness because of the difficult mechanic work, i thought i was gunna be flying on bubble. :( I cant play it because im autistic and it takes a lot of problem solving and executive function, which caused me great frustration and it felt like a great stressful burden to have to restore a whole city with only a book. Also there are no hints at all.. I wish i could return it. Idk why i try anything.. all this modern design is made for neurotypicals. Im not a mechanic and its really hard to play, i feel confused as what to do and did not even make it past the gate, all i got where the lemons... too difficult to play on iphone, use an ipad only..

Really fun and cute!. This game is really fun. Logical puzzles for when you are bored. This is a book that has the answers but it is really fun to try and figure it out all by yourself (I wonder if you can!!) If you like games that take 10-20 minutes to complete you must be SUPER good at logic games or this is not the game for you. If you aren't good at math, logic, and/or reading then this DEFINITELY is not the game for you. But I do think if you like math, logic and/or reading then Lumino City has your name on it (not really it’s an expression that means you’d probably like it). The art is amazing and definitely really cute!

Was great until snag by photographer. Gave it four stars at first. Was having Good time with game until photographer. I hit the button on the left and then bubble said “ it doesn’t recognize me perhaps it I’ll recognize someone else.” It did this repeatedly. I went to the-walkthrough, and everything I had done was the same. I then looked at the wt video, a face popped up on the side. Was this the other person? I started from beginning in case I missed something, again, no face popped up and again it would no recognize me and let me in. I downgraded it to two star. Can you assist me someone? I would like to continue

Great game. This game is awesome. One of the best games I’ve played on iPhone. I’m sorry it’s not for everyone including the person that left one star cause they are autistic. But I love how the game makes u think and every thing u need to figure the game out is in the book. Until I found that I thought this game was Impossible. But I love this game

I always seem to have trouble finding one that is challenging enough to be fun, but not so mind-bending that it feels like work. And with this game, I am so hooked, I sincerely hope there will be a sequel!!!!

Beautiful puzzler. I first have to say the game looks amazing! The puzzles could be a little more challenging but you’re still a good mix and they are very interesting. So clearly made with so much devotion, effort and fun. There's not a corner, level or puzzle in this game that I didn't see an incredible amount of intricate energy put into this game. Even if it wasn't completely made by hand, this game clearly just had so many little things to catch the eye and show that it was made for you to enjoy. There was no cutting corners here, and it worked. I had so much fun playing this game, and there's not a lack of challenge here because they even included a handbook which you can have help guide you on levels, which I did use quite a bit to be honest. It was just amazing how much hard work and fun was had creating this game!! If this game doesn't deserve five stars I don't know what does!

Beautiful game that is hard to see. I’m really enjoying this game but right out the gate I’m hitting problems where I’m straining my eyes to read the small writing in the book and on other papers in the game on my iPhone 8. At times it’s entirely illegible. There’s no zoom or magnifier feature, a fix that would be so easy to implement and that so many reviews have requested that I wonder why it’s not here yet. This is a huge shame because the art in the game deserves close inspection, but one a phone screen, the resolution just isn’t there to see it. I bought the game on the recommendation of a friend but I didn’t realize her tablet version would make such a difference.

State of Play has outdone themselves!. I enjoyed Lume, but found it to be a bit on the short side and had potential to be so much more. Along comes this ha D.C. rafter masterpiece to pretty much exceed my every expectation making a gaming experience that is truly engaging and unique on the AppStore. This is a bargain for the depth and quality of content with brilliant set pieces, detailed animations, and clever puzzles paired with a compelling narrative direction. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys feelings.

beautiful, challenging game with clear instruction. Lumino City was so wonderfully pleasing to look at while also being a great puzzle game, which I am always a sucker for. What’s more, a lot of puzzle games have unnecessary challenges that are more a flaw than mastery, but this one falls right into mastery. If i got too stuck, I made sure to look at the page in the manual over and over and by-golly eventually it would click, and how fun it is to use your brain in that way! So grateful I ran across this gorgeous game. The ending storyline is a mystery to me, but I appreciate the visual story rather than it being spelled out, so kudos there. I’m curious if there’s something with the her grandparents named Mary and Joshua? Leaves me thinking. Well done.

Deserved all the awards it won!. This game is gorgeous in every way it can be, grand music, fun story, and the sets were made entirely by hand. I applaud all the hard work that went into this! P.S. I think I might’ve encountered a bug. After getting the key in the Moving City, I can’t seem to climb up the pipe again. If there is a bug, can you please fix it? Thank you for an amazing game.

Awe-inspiring, but for your consideration.... It would be an understatement to say that I found Lumino City absolutely breathtaking. It’s the story of a small girl venturing through handcrafted, visually pleasing lands to locate her beloved grandfather, the handyman of a vast city. However, there was one suggestion I had. When you select the level titled “The Captain”, you do not have the fish and chips you acquired in the level prior. As I find this level really enjoyable, I’d like to play it on its own, but I need the fish and chips to complete the level. It’s quite a process to have to hunt for the potatoes all over again. Maybe players could be able to select the level and automatically have the fish and chips? Thanks!

Charming puzzler. I truly enjoyed this game! Finally an innocent puzzle game where I can use my brain without harming characters. Took me a relaxed few days to finish and had lots of fun while playing. Liked the cheats even though not always were they helpful, still needed to use my brains. Hope to see more games like this. Sincerely appreciate it!

Compatible with many devices my dad got me this and I love it I’ve played through it 3 times even educational it taught me many things best game for all ages and I’m 9 years and I love it but I hate writing but it’s worth it highly recommend this game !!!!!! Astounding. This game is visually and intellectually and artistically awe-inspiring. A tiny girl moves through an incredibly textured world using her wits and the manual given to her by her granddad. The world is so small, and it feels small, but it is also vast and filled with familiar mysteries. The manual itself is a work of art, and it’s only a piece of the game. It makes it everything that it is. For any challenge, it gives instructions, a simple clue, or the whole solution. This means nothing is miserably tedious or too hard because the answers are built in— not just to the game, but to the narrative. Our hero is learning the ropes, after all. You can play the whole game just by following/working out the explicit directions in the manual, and you’d be well within the narrative to do so. Not cheating at all. Absolutely immersive and challenging and mind boggling. I started to play it on my iPhone — not fun. Too small a screen. The whole thing changed for me when I tried it on my iPad. Finished the remainder of the game during a blizzard. Absolutely magical. Fully recommend to anyone and everyone.

Appreciate this. You can tell the amount of work and detail that went into this game. I will not lie it is probably not for everyone because it’s not a just fly through real easy game. It’s tough but I like it. I appreciate the effort and thought that went into this game. Incredible. Underpriced in my opinion.

I absolutely adore this game. Lumino City is one of the most creative and beautiful games I have ever seen, based on the concept and design alone. The levels were challenging but not impossible. Admittedly a couple sections didn't make sense to me and I had to hunt online to see how to get started. My single, solitary, one and only complaint about this gorgeous game is that it was obviously designed for a much larger screen than my iPhone. At times it was extremely difficult to maneuver or trap what I needed to because of the size. At other times, the camera angle, which might have been accommodated by a large screen (turbine tower!), were nearly impossible to see where I should be going. These things aside, I stuck it out and even watched the entire credit reel. It's a work of art, disguised as a game. 😊

Words can not explain how well crafted this game is.. I seek out games with this level of mystery, thought, challenge and immersive experience. It over delivered on all. What you simply can not anticipate is the level of storytelling, adventure and just sheer craftsmanship of this game. This is next level puzzle-making - because the puzzles are based on engineering concepts that we may take for granted in our daily lives - like lightbulbs, electricity, and engines to name just a few. Moreover, if one goes searching for answers, Lumino City has provided a manual does more than just provide answers. Indeed, the manual is a highly detailed engineering guide that can’t help but teach you a few scientific principles, if you are curious and love to learn about how things work, and prefer to have fun while doing so. Then there is the hand-crafted design of the entire city which captures one’s imagination and provides moments of awe and delight. I just can’t say enough. Thank you for the smiles and the joy your creativity provides!

Very Entertaining!. Simple game play with interesting graphics and a calm background music makes for a unique game. I like the colors and style, and the plot seems simple and adorable. The puzzles aren’t very complicated which is great when I want to relax instead of becoming frustrated and uninterested. I think it’s enjoyable all around and was worth paying for.

How do you ring the bell. Hey there! I wanted to ask you something. On level 1, how do you ring the bell? I’m 10-years-old & I am stuck on the 1st level! WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Forgive me! I am just a bit frustrated on how to ring the bell. I know that you jump on the box, hang on to the hook, but I just need to figure out how to make the bell ring. Can you help out? Please, respond.

Brilliant Idea. This app was defiantly worth what I paid for it. I Love making little trinkets out of home materials, and this app inspires me to take that love, and make something amazing out of it. This game is it’s own little world with adventures, puzzles, mysteries and so much more! I have a bunch of games on my phone that I love, but this takes it to the next level! This game is amazing! I hope to see more like it!

So much fun! Need more!. Such a great game. I am hoping for updates with more because I couldn't stop playing and beat the whole game in a couple days! After watching how the game was made, I realized how long it must take to make the game come to life so I understand why it's not the longest game. “As Good as it Gets”. I believe the highest rating should be reserved for almost-perfect games. This is one of those rare apps. My criteria are: 1. Unique, clever, thinking “out-of-the-box” creativity. 2. Beautiful, original graphics. 3. Audio that complements, but doesn’t distract. 4. Intellectually challenging, but follows a discernible logic; “genius I.Q.” not required. 5. Good quality for the money; long enough to be satisfying, but doesn’t overstay it’s welcome. 6. A true adventure in game playing. Congratulations to the brilliant development team behind this game; from a programmer that understands, appreciates, and thoroughly enjoys outstanding quality. Kudos!!!

Don’t believe the hype. First off, I NEVER write app reviews. But since the App Store so heavily hyped this $5 app I feel people should know that it is not even worth a dollar. She walks slow, climbs slow, talks slow. The conversations are mostly pointless and waste time/fun. The music isn’t even good. The visuals are kinda cute but that’s really all this game has going for it. Puzzles aren’t very fun. Having to flip through the stupid book all the time is annoying too. But the WORST part is now I’m stuck and can’t even finish the game because of some glitch it will not let me pick up the coat hanger. So total waste of time and $5. Not worth it at all.

Really good concept and perfectly done. Title about says it all. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible. For all the reviewers who say there's no hints in the game, there's a book that acts as your guide and has page numbers to help you figure out each challenge without completely giving it away. Overall, it's intuitive, beautifully done, and I would definitely buy again!

Not super worth it. So the game is well crafted as far as the artistic side of it goes, however, the functionalities really, really lack. The character doesn’t respond like you intend and it gets incredibly frustrating because you will be forced to start the whole segment over again. I found it seriously aggravating more than a couple times. Had I not paid for it, I wouldn’t have continued playing.

Pulls everyone right in. I tried this by myself sitting next to my almost teenager son who doesn't agree with me on anything lately. He jumped right in and started solving stuff. The past week has been great as we finally have a game we both like and can work together on. Yay! The only little thing that could improve is the book readability. The letters are too small for iphone. We used the camera to take a pic and zoom in to read it better, but thats just an inconvenient workaround. It would be great if the book had a zoom button. Even so, love this app.

Beautiful and fun!. I usually don’t write reviews but this game was just that good. It was beautiful from the first scene all the way through to the end credits. Really intricate and thoughtful puzzles with an adorable storyline to go along. Beautiful job creating an intricate and unique city!!

Absolutely wonderful game!. To start with, I almost never write a review unless it’s to warn people off wasting money. Not this time. I just finished this game. 100% worth paying for! The visuals were stunning. You frequently forget this was a hand-made game. The artist(s) did an incredible job on this. The story is engrossing and amusing. The puzzles are challenging enough to be fun, but not frustrating. The book was a perfect touch. Just enough to get you through. I highly recommend this game and want to assure everyone that you are absolutely getting your money’s worth!

Beautiful and interesting. This game is absolutely stunning and I applaud the makers for devoting so much time into making it. The puzzles are fun and some are challenging (at least to me some of them were). I just wish there was more because when I finished the game I was heartbroken. I played it any chance I got and finished the entire game in 3-4 days (I don’t remember it’s all a blur 😂). The game is totally worth it and I’m thinking of redownloading it to play all the beautiful puzzles again!

Please make another one!!. This was the most beautiful game I’ve seen. The whole game was a work of art combined with ingenuity and cleverness. Absolutely loved it. The puzzles were great as well as the story. The only downside is it leaves you wanting to play more when it ends. I really hope the makers make another. It’s that good!!

I loved this app. I definitely give it a 5 star. The whole imagery gives you such a beautiful feel that you almost feel sad when you’ve finished it. It’s fun and I spent my entire vacation in the Maldives playing this app. Genius work.

Easy puzzles. I like the environment it’s really beautifully designed. I didn’t like that most of the conversations were pointless or went on for too long. There’s a lot of tapping just to move forward from a conversation. The puzzles are really difficult to try and figure out on your own, really no rhyme or reason to them. The only way you can beat a puzzle is to use the book which just gives you the answers. Then all I’m doing is just flipping back and forth from the book and the puzzle to complete it.

Great game. The visuals are beautiful, and the story is cute and touching. I feel that the interface isn’t quite perfect; the book could have been made a little more user-friendly and maybe without all of the fluff text, its description of some of the puzzle solutions seem a bit misleading. But that’s my only complaint, this game is otherwise great, I’m glad I bought it. I’d like to see more games made this way.

Not quite for me. It’s a descent game but the puzzles are not good they don’t make any sense! There so confusing and frustrating. It will be like follow the arrow, but there will be 15 arrows pointing in different directions! Ugg! The graphics are beautiful. The graphics are like nothing I have ever seen before. And I’m sure they took a lot of work too but THE GAME PLAY IS HORRIBLE. it’s like they took 2 years to make the graphics. And 2 hours to make the game play. I wouldn’t buy it if I had a chance to get it again!

Gorgeous!!!. I love this app it's so beautiful and knowing that everything was hand made makes it even better! The structure is perfect and it isn't too easy and isn't too hard. The only thing I don't like about it is how much storage it takes up but other than that i love it!

Not For “Kids”. The reason I didn’t put 5 stars is because this game has language, 2 characters say the D word, The handler of the crane, and the person with the net in the Sky Garden. I’m also reporting the puzzles, they’re very HARD that kids who play the game have to use the guide book “Every Time”! You lied about the age rating too so please, remove the language and make the puzzles “Easier” so that this game will really match the age rating, please! P.S., I hope State Of Play is reading this.

Fun and beautiful. The design is very interesting. There are some complaints here about the design not being spectacular. However, I think those people are missing the point. Much like live opera is not as visually spectacular as a Hollywood blockbuster so this is not as visually spectacular as some video games that are a 10gb download. It’s the total experience that is achieved. The game is well made and the puzzles are well thought out. If you enjoy a well made fun game you’ll love this. If you need your eyeballs melted then go do that.

I WOULD NOT EVEN PAY 99 cents FOR THIS.. I consider myself to be a bit of a “graphics snob,” so it always catches my attention when there’s a game with rave reviews about its graphics, and the actual game play is equally as important. The screenshots didn’t look impressive to me at all, but I also understood this was made using real world objects and that sometimes screenshots can be rather misleading. There are so many great reviews about the game play, so I figured that even if the graphics are as disappointing as the screenshots look, I’d still enjoy the game. Wrong, wrong wrong. The graphics look exactly as you see here. I happen to be an artist, too, yet I have so little appreciation for the design of these “sets,” or whatever you might call them if they can’t be called “graphics.” I can’t think of a better description than “Childish.” (Maybe children would love this game? That’s a possibility...) As for the game play: Ugh. It’s just so plain stupid. Maybe I’m spoiled from the great games I have played? Maybe I expect to be challenged more than others? This game was so uninteresting to me in every way that I deleted it before even completing it. I’d rather re-play one of The Room games than play this game for another second. Gadz, I really regret paying money for this...

Cute game with terrible controls. No one play tested this. The navigation is the worst in any iOS game I’ve played. The game is cute. The puzzles might be interesting if you can find and then navigate to them. The help system is neat the first time you encounter it, but gets very annoying when you need to access it on every puzzle. The puzzles aren’t terribly complex, but there are few clues as to what needs to be done, and navigation makes it difficult to solve every puzzle. Do not waste money on this.

Sublime. Most of the puzzles and challenges are fairly straightforward—only a few are very challenging. But unlike in most puzzle-based adventure games the real reason to play this one is not necessarily the puzzles themselves (although most of them are enjoyable) but the incredible beauty and richness of the environments and the sheer delight you derive in spending time in such a rich, vibrant world, one clearly lovingly crafted. In that respect this is one of the best games I’ve ever played, and an utterly unique experience.

Beautiful but poorly designed. The music and graphics are top notch but unfortunately the game just does not make any sense. Parts of the game are so difficult my engineering friends could not figure it out. I’ve been stuck on the lightwell for over a year and each time I leave the game for a few weeks and come back it seems like there is no path forward. The mechanics of the game are unintuitive (where you tap, how certain levels work, the interactivity of the map, etc. etc.) I’ve looked up walkthroughs but people seem to just click randomly and rapidly because you have better luck with sheer randomness than you do using your brain. I wanted to like this game but it’s so deeply frustrating. Please fix this!!!

Wait What!?. I was at first a little skeptical of it mostly because I never pay for games but this really caught my attention... When I started playing I’m like WAIT WHAT!?!? It’s was sooooo awesome and you can see that they put a lot A LOT into it. It was a breathtaking experience and is completely worth the money!!!

Love ❤️ it!. Fun yet challenging puzzles. I almost got stuck a few times. The trick is using the manual (take screenshots if necessary!) One puzzle I had to use two phones side by side so that I could see a zoomed in picture of the manual next to the puzzle I needed to solve. I agree that it would be better if you could zoom in on the pages of the manual. I loved the artistry and creativity of this game!

Great. This game is challenging, but not too difficult. Very fun and addictive. One minor thing I’ve noticed, the page #s listed for the diner are not in numerical order as the rest listed are. Maybe it’s part of a puzzle I haven’t reached yet, but wanted to mention it in case it was just an error/oversight. That is OCD me speaking, but I still love the game. Worth the money.

A beautiful game horribly executed.. It’s a gorgeous game with a interesting story and that’s where the draw ends. Cons: puzzles that without grandpas diary would be completely unsolvable because there’s no logical way to deconstruct them. If you’re not playing on a 55” flat screen you’ll be pixel hunting for places to move and items to pick up. And when playing on Apple TV the remote is terrible for any puzzles that require timed movement to complete puzzles.

Love it. This is one of the best games I have every played. Though sometimes it is challenging I figure it out. I can’t even say how amazing this game is thank you for taking your time making this amazing game that I love if I could give it 10 stars I would. Thanks again!

Amazing. This is a really amazing and I would recommend it to anyone because it’s so fun. But if you don’t like thinking games then this game isn’t for you. But if you do like thinking games then this game will be a really amazing game for you. So I think you should give it a try

Astounding in visuals, lacking in gameplay.. The first thing I said when I opened this game was “Wow.” I couldn’t believe that this game’s visuals were made purely through real life modeling. After all, I got this game because I knew this, and I wanted to get the whole effect of actually playing it; because good visuals or no good visuals, no game is a great one without entertaining gameplay. Then I actually started playing. After playing for a few hours, I was underwhelmed by the gameplay. All I experienced in this game was easy to solve puzzles. Nearly no story. No mystery. And no shock factor at all. If I had one word to describe the gameplay for this game, it would be “lacking”. There could be so much more done to make it so much more entertaining. Maybe it’s just me; maybe I’m not the kind of person that can just appreciate a puzzle game, and puzzle game only, for what it is. But with as good visuals as this game has, puzzles aren’t enough. I need a story...that is, something to keep me hooked. Without having that, games like these get boring fast. I would suggest passing on buying this game if you want something more than visuals and simple puzzles. If you want something more fulfilling, maybe try a game like “The Silent Age”. It has excellent visuals, somewhat challenging puzzles (but not too challenging), AND has a super compelling story with a more than satisfying ending.

Bugs spoil otherwise good game. Cute graphics and interesting puzzles are used in an "explore the world and work it out yourself" style of game. However, I have found a few problems with it on my iPad. Some of the graphics seem to be out of alignment (the character is standing in mid air, or you actually have to click on a wall around the corner to get a door open. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to progress further in the game than "The Park", as the character standing in mid air seems unable to correctly interact with the ropes and wheel, no matter what I do. If the bugs were fixed, it would be a good game.

Doubled in size.. Played the previous version and it's a good little adventure puzzler, albeit a little short and simple. However I'm loathe to download 1.7 when the description is so scant, "speed improvements", "improvements to replay kit", when the download is 2GB. That's twice the size of the original game just for performance twiddles?!

Loved it so much I’m playing it again. This is the most beautiful and unique game and undoubtedly my most favourite all time.

Absolutely gorgeous. Touch controls can be a little irritating at times since there is no hotspot highlighting and taps on background are sometimes interpreted as unwanted moves (especially at the boat). Fun, relatively light puzzles... the guitar tune is a challenging memory test, though. But five stars for the stunning photographic graphics and amazing presentation throughout. Absolutely standout art.

This game deserves more than a 5. I went on their website and tried restarting my iPod and it works! The game is very unique and beautiful. Absolutely love the graphics! It crashes a few times but not when I always try to use the handbook. Really great game

Superbly pretty. Other than the gramophone music glitch that refused to turn off till the end of the game even after I have supposedly turned it off, the game was a joy to play from beginning to end. I enjoyed the puzzles a lot more than monument valley and the graphics & atmosphere are superb. Can't wait for the next installment!!!

Beautifully created! Wow. This is definitely worth the purchase. It's a beautifully created game with interesting puzzles and mesmerising scenes. Amazing work! It's wonderful to see that the makers of the game took the time and effort to craft and create these artworks, especially when we are in a time which computer graphics may be much more easily accessible. The sound is broken on iPhone 14 pro max. The sound has strange annoying distortion on the iPhone 14 pro max. Couldn’t even start playing the game.

Wow. Just gorgeous.. I'm only just past the market level so not far into the game but it's just a pleasure to play. From the amazing visual experience to the great soundtrack, to the huge and incredibly involved accompanying manual, the game just constantly reminds the player how much work has been done to produce this. Another thing: it really seems like a game that almost wouldn't suit any other platform, and when you can do that and make it work so well on a mobile platform then you've really won big time.

Speechless. I once wondered why there were so many people rate 5 stars when I purchased the game. I don't usually write a review but this is an absolutely great game and I would regret if I don't rate it. The game is a bit difficult but that's nothing compare to its wonderful music, decoration, animation and theme. If you are reading through reviews and thinking of does this game worth it or not like what I usually do before purchase, believe me, you really wouldn't want to miss it and you would be thankful for the absolute wonderful experience from this game.

Best puzzle game ever…. It’s a great game to play, it has no pop-up ads and the plot twist at the end of the game is a huge part of information about the grandfather. In conclusion, this is the best game I’ve ever played.

Breathtaking. Congratulations State of Play and all those involved in making this wonderful game. I play lots of puzzle games and this by far rates over and above all of them. From the beautiful graphics, the puzzles, great storyline, and amazing features of each town, it was pure delight. I even had to watch the credits at the end. I am hoping that there is another game in the pipeline soon. For those looking to buy it's worth every single cent.

Apple TV. I purchased Lumino City as one of the first apps on my Apple TV 4K and sadly it doesn't work at all. Quits immediately after launch. Playing it on my iPad Pro, it's excellent and well worth the money. Please fix the Apple TV version. :)

Beautiful !. I’ve finally finished playing this wonderful game on my Apple TV over the weekend. So lovely on screen. The puzzles are all well paced and solvable (especially with the aid of the wonderfully depicted manual). This one is a gem!

It looked wonderful and I'm so glad I bought it because upon beginning to play the game I could just see how gorgeous the animations were and it's so worth it. I love it!!! Good game, but issues with tvOS version. Like many other reviewers, I am very impressed with the attention to detail in the game, and I've greatly enjoyed playing it - on my phone. However, for us, it's almost unplayable on the TV because the automatic download between stages doesn't seem to work properly. The download stalls, and nothing works. I've tried many workarounds to no avail. I don't know if it is to do with the new app thinning technology, but would appreciate feedback.

This game crashes A LOT. Ok I'm playing for the first time and in the the first minute it crash and I'm like oh ok. I go back on to it. And it crash AGAIN in it the first minute or so. Charming and Hugely Enjoyable. I bought this for my Apple TV. It's gorgeous to look at and is pretty simple, which I appreciate because, while I enjoy puzzle games, I'm not that good at them. Music is lovely, the heroine is super cute. The level of detail is impressive. The in-game book you consult is almost 1000 pages long but you use only a fraction of it. The whole book had to be written and illustrated. Huge amount of work. Happy to pay even more than I did for such quality work.

Game all fixed and loving it. Loving the game, had some crashing issues when the latest iPad update came out but they were very quick with releasing an update for the game and now it works better than ever.

Poor implementation on AppleTV ruin an otherwise beautiful game. Finding this game VERY frustrating to play on AppleTV due to the poor (lazy?) implementation of controls. The interaction model that works well on a touch screen does not work on AppleTV. Having to control a mouse pointer to find and interact with hotspots instead of simply swiping the touchpad to cycle through the hotspots onscreen gets old very quickly. These unnecessary and demanding interactions include forcing users to move the mouse pointer to a “next” button instead of accepting a simple tap to continue is just one example of the work to convert the touch screen interaction model to AppleTV has not been done, instead pushing this effort onto the users. Hopefully this is improved with a future update.

Beguiling. Almost unknown in the world of electronic games - something quite different. Visually unusual and highly pleasing, with a reasonable story to string the puzzle quests together. Even better once I figured out how to use the manual without flipping one page at a time - just swipe right and hold.

Intelligent and thoughtful. Terrific game that’s been developed with thought and intelligence. So much better than those mundane games that have you dropping cherries and donuts ad infinitum. This one actually challenges you to think.

Really lovely. Love the design, the music and the story. Just wish you knew when you were at the end of a conversation with a character instead of the conversation repeating until you realise that’s all there is. Worth the cost. Wish there were more games like this.

We’re so quick to blame something or someone else before trying and looking for other solutions. Even I did as I stated below. And Also at first I thought I had to scroll through every single page which I was like there is no way I’m gonna flip through each page to get to page 688 or wtv but again I knew that was ludacris so I thought there has to be an easier way that I’m not doing and BINGO of course there was, use your finger and slide over the many pages as you would use your thumb on a real book to skip thru numerous pages and you will see that u can jump from page 0 to whatever u want. I read a a review where someone complained about that when that was not the case at all. Played this on my iPad pro 10.5 and omg it was amazing. A visual treat, the graphics are whimsical, creative and adorable!. Music was perfect, puzzles were challenging, fun, engaging and I love the idea of the Handy book in case you get absolutely stuck. I feel so stupid now that I emailed thinking I had a glitch when I got to the park and could not for the life of me get on the wheel. i knew what I had to do but it would never light up for me to be able to grab the bars. Lemme tell ya, sometimes the best thing is to put down a game and come back later or even another day and look at it again. Wouldn’t you know that a few days later I realized there was a dialogue I missed duhhhhh. 🤦‍♀️ I felt so dumb after. I’m sad the game had to end. The only thing I’d say is I wish there was a way u could repeat some of the dialogue cuz several times I would touch the screen either by accident or I thought the convo was over and then I would realize I double clicked so I missed a couple bubbles of dialogue and couldn’t read it again. I mean it was essential but still I hate missing anything. Also sometimes I wished there was an option to either hear talking or have captioning, just an idea. This was such a great game and fun for everyone of all ages. I love the creativity and this team deserves a big 👏 for all their time, effort, & love that they put in to this. Great job! Worth every penny.

Expected more from this game. Downloaded based on the novelty that this game was built by hand, but it ended up disappointing. The visuals are decent but the storyline is lackluster and dry, the UI is terrible and the puzzles are challenging but ultimately meaningless. I expected a lot more here especially since it was selected as editors choice. The developers had a lot of potential here but they left it sitting on the table.

Honest Review. Lumino City is a pretty cool game. It's a point and click adventure with about 50 puzzles to do while you travel the world in an interesting narrative. The art style is also very good and everything in this game looks great. However, this game does not have much content wise. It's beautiful and the puzzles are interesting and different, but for the maybe 1-3 hours of gameplay, it's not worth close to 8 dollars. It's creative, looks great, a bit short and overpriced, but a solid game non the less. I however would not advise pay 8 dollars for this.

Beautiful game, but unplayable on Apple TV. It took forever for developers to update this game so it wouldn't crash when launched on Apple TV. Now it launches, but Apple remote doesn't respond to one of the earliest puzzles, the lemon circuit puzzle. You have to twist the lemons to place them properly, and they don't twist. Frustrating bug for a great game. (Also tried nimbus controller which didn't work with game at all)

Too much book work. I like games like The Room, The Broken Age and Thimbleweed Park. This game seemed to fall into this category. I don’t like the book flipping for clues and there are some objects that are really hard to find that can hold up an entire level. For me, this game doesn’t have the same feel, as the above listed games.

Just what I was looking for. I needed a puzzle game like this and searched for games like The Room. This came up and it is exactly the kind of game I wanted. It Is mentally stimulating, problem solving in a fantasy world. Bravo to the developers!

Cheerful Adventure Game. Highly enjoyable. Easy to moderate difficulty, with a few harder challenges thrown in. Good length, plenty of intriguing locations to explore. Only quip is a little light on story, but that does not detract from this delightful game. Be sure to watch credits/cinematics at the end, as it puts story into perspective.

And heaven forfend you forgot a pg #! You’d have to click each individual page to return to the table of contents. By the 3rd location, I had to abandon it due to the pain in my hands

Love games like this. Love love love all the mechanical drawings in the book. Love how kids can learn to use them and learn nifty things like how lemons can be used to conduct electricity.. we’re missing a potato clock here guys.. I’m only up to the part where I’ve entered the city but so far I’m loving it.

Interesting graphics needs music setting. I like to listen to audiobooks while I play games like this. There are no setting controls for this game. I can’t turn it or off. The music is nice but I would be more interested in playing this if I could listen to audiobooks.

Beautiful and Fun. As a graphic designer I am very picky about the art style of my games. This is such an amazing unique art style I rarely see in games of this style. The puzzles are perfect, just the right level of difficulty for me.

Great Game. The art style is not only beautiful but masterfully done. The stop-motion style art adds great character to all of the settings and give the game a unanimous feel. The characters and storyline are both cute and whimsical while holding integrity throughout the game.

Glitch in game. As an avid puzzle game fan I was really looking forward to trying Lumino City, but as soon as I got to the boat level it wouldn’t wake up the captain. I tried everything, even restarting the entire level... I watched multiple walkthroughs and read different forums. Can’t progress in the game. Very disappointed because until this point I really enjoyed playing.

Pretty, but freezes up on Apple TV. I love the inventiveness on display, but this game shouldn't be offered on Apple TV, as it freezes up often on that platform. My son was so excited to play it, and we solved a few puzzles together, but eventually we were spending half of our time opening and closing the app, trying to get it to respond. Frustrating, and not in a clever way.

Now, however, I have an iphone 14 pro max, and there is a rhythmic popping that interrupts the soundtrack. In addition, the game doesn’t fill the phone’s screen. Not for Phones. Though beautiful and a welcome change of mood from the typical horror and battles, this game is not suitable for use on phones. The manual is illegibly small (and too long to be practical in any case). Needs clear, in-scene statements of the objectives of games, and a hint system geared to phone visibility. Controls are awkward on a phone. So much potential; so much frustration.

Finally something different. Puzzle games are mostly the same on this platform. This one is a solid combination of detailed and accessible. It’s worth the money if only because the makers deserve it for all the beautiful crafting.

Beautiful but not much else.... If it wasn’t so lovely to look at/listen to, I’d have given this 1-Star. Puzzles are overly complex with little to no sense of reward. Each chapter feels unresolved and empty. Story pieces are easily overlooked, and without much guidance it’s easy to find yourself lost. I made it half way through and gave up. More frustrating than enjoyable. Not sure how this got such a high rating in the store. Truly a dull game.

Beautiful and fun!. I usually don’t write reviews but this game was just that good. It was beautiful from the first scene all the way through to the end credits. Really intricate and thoughtful puzzles with an adorable storyline to go along. Beautiful job creating an intricate and unique city!!

Okay. I’ve definitely played games more fun than this one but it wasn’t too bad. The one thing that really bugged me was towards the end if you just wanted a hint the book would give you the whole answer so I didn’t feel as challenged as I could have been.

Fantastic game, but we need more help!. We love this game. It’s a beatuful! However, we would like more hints, and I think it’s a little buggy on our 5th gen mini iPad. Well worth the money!

Great, but.... Only 4 stars because you (the makers of this app) need to allow us users to turn off the music in the background so that I can listen to my own without it being covered by the background sound.

AMAZING. This game is so engrossing and stunning. The writing and gameplay is top notch. The soundtrack and mechanical knowledge is unique and makes this game so much more impressive. I’m very impressed. One of the best games I’ve played, and I’ve played a fair few!

I LOVE this game!!. It’s a beautifully made game! Everyone says this game is “too hard” I’m twelve and didn’t find it too difficult . I just finished the game and I just love the concept. I would love more games like this!

Wow. I am in awe of the amount of effort that went into this. The sets are fantastic, the world feels so fleshed out, the puzzles are so interesting. I would spend a day in Lumino City if I could. The mechanic of the Handymanual is a genius hint system. All around, amazingly good job.
