Review. It is pretty good, but sometimes it does not show any definition even when I spell it right and I have to go on Safari or Google. It also has a sort of limited vocabulary, and if it doesn’t know the word it will almost always pronounce it wrong (only when it doesn’t know the word).

Like this app but issue with high quality voices. I really like this app. I purchased the pro. But I noticed that it too has issues with loading the high quality voices. I followed the instructions, but it keeps using the low quality voice. I even restarted my phone, which had the latest iOS 17.

Pro version didn't carry over my topic pack. I've purchased the topic pack from the nonpro version only to find out it doesn't carry over to the pro. Having to purchase it again. This transition isn't enjoyable. And will like to be reimbursed for the nonpro-topic pack. Please and thank you! But I do enjoy the pro nonads features!

Pronounce. I use this little APP almost daily. When I read with my grandson I use it as well. I want him to know not to know is okay. Very handy APP that was well worth the small price I paid.

4.99$ learn more features gone. I bought learn more feature earlier for 4.99$ then I bought voice record feature for 1.99$ but now learn more feature gone. How to get the 4.99$ or learn more features?

Love it. When ever l’m reading and I come upon a word I can’t pronounce i use this app it works great helps and helps me pronounce properly i recommenced it

Mispronounced the first word I tried!. About half of English words have rule-predictable pronunciations. The other half are irregular to some extent. This app mangled the first word I tested (anime). To its credit, the next several words I tested were pronounced correctly. If you use it, be aware that it may supply you completely wrong pronunciations at times.

Best pronunciation app ever. I use this app almost every day because it helps me pronounce the patients last name correctly. It’s worked so far on most last names 👍🏼

Ventilator patient can now speak!. I have used this app for speaking to doctors and nurses. It has been a lifesaver. Hopefully I will be weaned off the mechanical ventilator and be able to speak again, but until then, this is the most used app on my phone.

Work. I’m a terrible speller. It gets me through the day.

Very bad. I cannot figure out how to use this. Everything that I tried requires additional payment. I cannot even make basic sense of this app's functions. There are several free alternatives and they are pretty straightforwrd. So, I wasted $2 and I'm done with this crap.

Lacks functionality. It doesn’t have any functions one would expect such as saving favorites or even returning to prior words. You have to type each word each time and you can add to phrase or sentence.

Absolutely great application. I have use this application number of times vendor to be extremely enlightening and very informative. Great thing to have on your iPad or iPhone for those times when you hear words or words you don't understand or have never heard. The app has never let me down.

Love this app. I have been using this app for a long time now and I love the functionality that it has. Whether I’m working on French homework or anatomy using this app helps me understand the word on a deeper level and how to pronounce it correctly. Sooo helpful. I am slowly learning French from several different sources. I need to do a lot of quick checks of sound and meaning. This has been an extremely helpful on the spot reference to keep me moving forward.

Kms. No additional features. It just listen and record you voice with no correction or check with model. It doesn’t help at all..

Employee Reference Guide MUST HAVE app!!!. Working in the medical field; I constantly have to read medications that I may not know how to pronounce. Having this app always me to pronounce the medications before meetings and save the most commonly used!! Saves my nerves from feeling embarrassed when saying it incorrectly!! This is amazing!! horrible app - Useless!!!!!. Do clear directions on how to play your recording at the same time as the recorded speaker, and pronunciation varies WIDELY by speaker chosen to the point where the app Is completely useless!

Excellent. I am an avid reader and encounter many words that even my very well read friends and colleagues do not use in conversation. It is exceedingly comforting to learn the correct pronunciation, thus enabling me to use these words in conversation. Moreover, the app pronounces last names and foreign words. Finally, it will allow you to hear the word spoken in its native tongue. Try Caillebotte!

Pronunciation. I enjoy reading daily, so how to pronounce words and learning their definitions has certainly increased my vocabulary.

Amazing at helping me learn French. Please update it for iPhone X!!! I’m using this to help me learn French pronunciation in university and it has helped my studying 4x. App may not be intuitive for some people writing these comments but it was pretty easy for me. You will want to make sure that you use the enhanced voice pack provided by Apple in Settings>General>Accessibility and if you’re using it for foreign pronunciation make sure you have the preferences in app pointed to that language. The mic function is also pretty simple to use.

Voice change. I can’t understand the American Accent when trying to here the pronunciation of a word. And is extremely difficult to go back to the voice over I had before when searching through my settings. Not feeling to confident in the pronunciations of the words I type in.

Extremely helpful. English is my second language and I pride myself on trying to speak it fluently. Learning new language, how to communicate with people makes me happy. This App helps me with learning so much. I love the read slow option. Perfect! The definition comes in different languages, another of the highlight of the App in my opinion. It’s an everyday App. A true definition of an App - helpful!

Does not work for Russian. The Russian pronunciation is wrong: vowel and consonant sounds are pronounced always the same, no matter if they change depending on their accent, position, etc.

Very helpful. A great tool if you're learning a new language and you're not too sure about a pronunciation of some words.

Bugged. I don’t know how this app is getting so many 5 stars. There is a massive bug where the voice doesn’t change if you have “Alex” installed and will override everything else. I had to delete “Alex” off my iphone to stop this. Fix this bug and I will rate it higher.

Voice is gone. I bought the app. It was working fine at the beginning but after a month the voice has gone. This app is nothing without voice.

A very useful little app!. I love to read and I often come across words that I’m not sure how to pronounce and also not sure of the meaning. This app answers both questions!

Disappointed. I thought I was going to see the curve of my voice over the one of the model to reproduce the same sound . But instead I just have to listen to the sound ans repeat again I til I think it’s sounds correct. I don’t need to pay for this .

Very robotic.. The features in this app are great but the voice is the worst. Worst than Stephen Hawking! The enunciation is terrible. I'm trying to use the app to polish my accent for an audition and I'm wasting my time. I wish I could get a refund.

Great for me!. This app has really helped me play Magic the Gathering. Funny I know, but some of names of cards are difficult to pronounce and this app helps me not look so uneducated. Recommend to anyone who struggles with some words.

Very midleading. I thought it was an actual dictionary of pronunciations. In fact, the app just uses Apple's default speech engine to pronounce words and phrases. This engine is good, but it's prone to making mistakes in difficult words. Try asking this app to pronounce "catalepsy." I wish I could have my money back. Don't be fooled like I was!

Not a great app. It's just a (bad) text-to-speech app.

Buy again??. Good app. Bought the full version. It started to ask me to buy again, I thought it was my mistake and bought a 2nd time. Guess what? It is asking me to buy it again! Annoying. I bought it twice and still not able to use the full version.

Do not purchase. This app was not helpful at all. I wasn't sure of the pronunciation for "ylang ylang " .i decided to test it out with words like "acaii" and "quinoa". It's basically phonetically reading the words. So it does not give a correct pronunciation. Only helpful if you do not know how to read
