Not the best tool, but probably the best app.. There are certainly better programs in terms of composition if you have a computer, but this is an excellent choice if you’re limited to an iPhone. The app has some interesting options packed in, but the fact that you have to pay such an expensive, monthly fee really holds it back. The instruments offered for free are way too limiting and are only barely serviceable. However, the paid instruments, while a bit of a mixed bag at times, lean more towards a rich and varied sound palette. Overall, it will help you as a beginner in finding interesting harmonies and crafting unique melodies, and it will also help in providing a very intuitive interface, but it will limit you in the long run if you get too comfortable with it. Make it a supplement, rather than your primary means of composition.

Absolutely LOVE this app but just one thing.... I’ve played around with garage band for a while now and it never provided me with the SOUND I was looking for. I don’t know how but I came across this app and I am SOOO glad I did. I was looking for something to make raw examples of tracks with but that sounded decent enough that wouldn’t embarrass me when I show my examples to producers. A way to get the songs in my head out of my head. But garage band wasn’t cutting it for me. I love this app! I went ahead and unlocked everything cuz I love it so much. My ONLY ONLY thing I don’t like is not being able to just record myself in one go over the beats I make. Nor being able to hear the song play while recording at the same time so I know where I’m at in the song. Please please add that feature and this app will be PHENOMENAL. Or at least make so it you don’t have to record by each bar! Anyway GREAT JOB!

Yes but the rating.... I do really really really (yes, in Chinese old scholars say that important thing should be told three times) like Medly and already have composed songs even better than my old composition Raining Roof (the improved compositions are Rainy Day, Rendezvous, and Change respectively). However I’d like the price to no longer be free but Member no longer required. You can say the price - $5.99 and even more people just will get past the MONEY barrier and you get profits better than just...before now. Say, do you know my second dream in my mind? I’d like a free, open-source Notes app replacing Medly (and free - but, people do make instruments as a donation.) And I looked at other reviews saying that a gifted teenager could make Medly. Just stop there, you could trust me for new Medly stuff. (Personally, I’d replace the Starter electronic pack with a better Electron, with the Aura (now named Electron) being the lead.) But I’d do the ripping out since my actual status is close to yours, just three years behind. The Notes ... it looks like Apple .... but maybe I would lead in the E-field later on. Oh, and the musics are not just a rip-off of Gallop. Just to make this rating appear as the most relevant of all, so people can get in the Compositionist school. Yes, the Compositionist Axis Rebellion of Music (opponents: Medly, Auxy, MusiQuest). And there are so much parentheses.

AMAZING!!. I LOVE THIS APP! I have been using this app since the for at least 2+ years, and I've recieved nothing but excellent quality per every update. However this app lacks a lot of common instruments as well as a suggestion box where one could suggest new instruments and features. I would love to see more basic instruments including a vibraphone, tube bells, more acoustic guitars, more pianos (with more range), a standard drum set, a brush drum set, and more. Some of us love modern music, but at the same time, some of us would like to use common instruments. I'm sure people have improvised but that doesn't have the same feel as a classic instrument. I hope this comment can be heard (or read). Overall this is an amazing app and is very easy to understand. The UI is easy to understand after trial and errors. I'd recommend this app to all.

Sound focused, not development focused.. I use Medley more than anything else. It’s easy to build melodies and bass lines without hassle, pretty accurately, and it’s easy to get these files onto my phone to send them away so I can use them in a bigger song. That’s what Medley is: A small app where you can create little music samples to send off to your bigger projects on your laptop or so on (or that’s how I see it). However, that’s not what Medley could be. There is so much potential here.. more ways to mix audio, built in vocaloid plugins (better than the current ‘Vox’ or whatever it’s called). Packs of instruments that can go together, better tutorials for beginners, so on. Trust me, this is a great app, but I think it’s too focused on simplicity.. which I know that sounds like a good thing, but simplicity really affects professionalism, especially in this circumstance. If Medley was able to integrate more types of mixing, more realistic instrument sounds rather than just a bunch of random synth and electric sounds that can kinds sound the same and nothing fits, and other little things that make it more professional, the community as well as Medley would benefit from that. Also, prices are fine. And there’s little bugs and freezes here and there and sometimes recordings of songs come out quiet but overall, so good.

Very great app. A few bugs though.. The “Done” button gets blocked mostly by my phones clock display which makes it so i can’t exit out of screens unless i press it a specific way which takes 20 tries. Also if you hold a section to drag it or move it and let go a little too early (which happens a lot) the whole screen will freeze and not let me do anything) Another thing is that lowering the pitch to with the pitch slider for most instruments makes the whole pattern off beat. so i can’t have low bass or low notes without it sounding very out of place. One very last thing which isn’t relevant anymore but i never said this: I’m still mad that the medly creators had me buy music packs to keep… i bought like 10 music packs.. then all of a sudden then changed their minds and i don’t own any of the music packs i bought… and i can only access them if i have the membership subscription which really made me mad lol. also the fact that it deleted all of my old projects with that same update like 3-4 years ago. it was tough times for me. Other than those things the app is amazing though. Literally the best phone music app i’ve ever used.

apologies. my apologies for trying to understand your business, although i still am saying i recommended 2$ not just 75c, i do not understand completely these things since i am a child ( I'm 13). i wont argue the price anymore but i still think you guys were very rude to me and others but my rating is going to be 4 stars still. thank you for responding to my previous reviews and i wish you guys good luck previous response : you see this app is really good, i don't write reviews unless i have something i really want to say so ill just get to the point. i truly love this app and making music is so easy, but i don't agree with a subscription. i understand that the app must be expensive to produce and i appreciate that but... i think that you should give us more than one pack, even two would be good? and make the rest of the packs purchaseable for around maybe 75c-2$?? that way people can choose what sounds they want to use without worrying about a charge every month. some people don't have the money to pay each month, so i really hope my idea is looked into at least a bit, since personally i am only interested in having a few packs anyways, so if i got the subscription i would be spending a ton of money for things i don't really need. thank you for your time but i still do really enjoy this app, just not the starter pack being extremely limited and there being a ton of other packs i have to pay each month for.

Best app ever. (Almost). I love this app because there’s a game I like called FNF. With your squeak sound from the essentials pack, I can create songs for it. Now, here’s why I wrote almost. I love the different variety but it’s missing the feature to add your own sounds. That’s all, I’m just saying that in a future update, it would be nice to have the feature of your own sounds. Edit: Why did you make it so there’s a SUBSCRIPTION? Seriously, For new people, (like me who got a new iPad recently but no way to save my data) you should make it a one time purchase like it was before, and add a data saving service. Edit 2: You are literally the best music making app for mobile ever. I love how when you answer replies you dont just copy and paste things. - Oreo.

Great, Except.... Hey! This is an amazing app. Well designed, clean, professional. But the only thing I dislike about it is that it is expensive. Hear me out, because I am not recommending that it be free. As a hobbyist I don’t have the money to buy a membership, but having the extra samples are kind of a must if you want to make songs with variety. What if in the free version it played an ad every time you added a premium instrument to a song. It would be like renting the instrument with an ad. You wouldn’t unlock the instrument universally, only for that song. It would keep the free version restricted while allowing hobbyists to make more with the app. It would generate income from all users instead of the few that buy a Membership. It would still give plenty of incentive to buy the pro version. This is a brilliant app and I want it to keep progressing. I think it would be beneficial to both users and developer. Just an idea, Cheers! P.S It would also be cool if deleted songs went to a temporary trash. This is a relatively standard feature in many media creation applications. (Or you could just put a couple extra messages telling people not to be idiots, like me, and delete songs they want :D)

Love this app, here’s my suggestions.. I use this app regularly and love it. There’s a few things I’ve noticed that I’d like to suggest in case the devs read and consider these reviews. 1. I’d love a wider variety of “darker” sounds, particularly for the guitars. Everything is really upbeat and happy sounding, which isn’t bad (it suits most of the EDM stuff this was designed for pretty well) but I feel as if it could benefit from a broader emotional spectrum. A “metal” and/or a “blues” setting that’s similar to the “rock” setting might be appropriate there. 2. IMHO the pizzicato violin is the worst sound in the sets, I’ve been trying to use it but it’s kind of cringe which is unfortunate since I’ve liked the rest of the classical set. 3. A way to do glissando would be really nice and might not clutter up the UI too much if done well, such as with a tap and hold setting on a series of notes. Similarly, a way to do really short notes such as grace notes or ornamentals would also add a lot to the app. I was imagining this might work with a UI if you tap and hold a short note that precedes another note. 4. More time signature options wouldn’t hurt, although you can always just force them by writing it in manually, it wouldn’t hurt to have more coded options.

Newest updates. The newest update made it harder to control the interface. Every time I tried sliding to the right to add patterns for the 2/4 of the loop it just took me to the next 1/4 loop without letting me go back to the one I was working on. I needed to manually exit that loop just to go back to the previous one. And although I could press the top to switch sections of the same loop segment it’s much comfortable being able to slide within it. Until the newest update made it a little frustrating. Sometimes when I think I was able to slide it I just ended up grabbing one of the patterns I placed and moving it on accident. so now I have to make sure not to grab them when I want to slide. so if I use to many patterns on the 1/4 it’ll be me trying to grab between them just to slide slightly onto the 2/4 of it. In all honestly I preferred the old interface than the new one.

Great in some aspects, good in others. This app seems like it’s really tailored to a few different genres...I bought all the packs and for me as a metal guitarist it’s somewhat limiting, I can’t manage to double bass drum and change time signature which you’d think would be pretty standard...as it is, I do use it for getting basic rhythms from my head to a tweakable medium and it’s really easy and nice to use. They’ve done a great job with everything, I just feel it’s an update or two away from being incredible. Instead of looking for more instruments or whatever to add next, try including the ability to change meters after a segment...and if these are options I haven’t discovered, then really consider a manual that covers all these nuances please! ...but seriously, really great job on the programming thus far.

Great for any level of experience. The app is really intuitive and easy to learn regardless of your experience with digital audio interfaces. It’s great for beginners to get started with simple music production, and for the more advanced people out there you can still put together some really great sounding stuff in a variety of genres. It’s amazing when I have an idea on the go and I only have a few minutes to quickly get down some chords, a melody, and even record some lyrics. If you’re new to the app, it’s definitely worth looking into the yearly membership. If you’re like me though and you’ve already purchased the packs and you only want one new one, it’s up to you to decide if that’s worth a subscription. I think I speak for lot of dedicated Medly fans when I say that I would love to still be able to purchase individual packs separately from the membership subscription, but either way it definitely won’t stop me from continuing to use my favorite app.

Amazing app. Just some suggestions.. Hey Medly creators. Just writing this review to give some ideas for future updates. This app is amazing for people to use, it’s simple, useful, and runs fantastically. The ideas I had for newer updates was for integration of different time signatures. So far we have 4/4 and 3/4 with triplets. But in the future I want to be able to have it so I can make a 5/4 song with ease. As well as keys using /8 like 7/8 and 6/8. Another feature is tempo changes. I want to be able to change the tempo so I can have a beginning of a song be 90 bpm but then later I want it to be 120 bpm. These would be tremendous upgrades to an already phenomenal app and I hope to hear some feedback/see these features added in the future.

Love The App, just one thing missing. I’ve been using medley for two years now, and used Member for one year, and made some amazing songs with the app! Great place to start out with music, especially if you don’t have money. The one thing I wish could be added was a way to make your own sounds, like a wavetable inspired by the serum plugin for computer programs or something, while keeping the existing sounds, some as presets, some as member exclusive sounds not possible with the sound designer, to keep making money through to keep updating the app, and keeping people in music. I’m not completely freaking out over it since I have no idea how hard that is, andirons can live without it, but if it’s at all possible for a small company, at least try. Thanks! Keep up the great work!

Very nice, but.... This app seemed confusing at first but eventually you get used to how to use it. I like all of the different options there are (changing how loud a note is, being able to hear a note before placing it, being able to change the key of the piece, etc.) However, these are some things I’d like added: 1.) Crescendos and diminuendos. Being able to change the note’s loudness is helpful, but being able to have more steady dynamics where it’s very gradual is better. It’d be cool if we could just place this feature under the group of notes we want the crescendo or diminuendo to affect. 2.) The way we have to pay monthly or yearly for other features. I dislike having to pay in that way; I’d rather pay a base fee instead of each month or year having expenses for the app. So please add a bass fee option where we can just flat out pay the expenses for other features and get the payment over and done with.

incredible app, even for free. this app has turned me from a high school violinist into an EDM producer at 15 years old- it’s the only program i understand well enough to use, and i love it for that. it’s allowed me to pursue my passion for music beyond anything i ever could’ve imagined three years ago when i downloaded this. i recently paid for a yearly subscription cause i just had to have all the sound packs, and it’s paid off tremendously! i just finished the best song i’ve ever made, using all those new sounds i just unlocked. thanks so much, medly team! the only additional thing i could ever ask for would be the ability to add a glissando effect between notes, as the pitch bend tool isn’t quite accurate enough to do this quickly and easily. i think this ability would be the cherry on top of the awesome cake that is the app :) thanks so much y’all!!

Medley please read!!!!. I have been using Medley to make my music for more than a year now and i can say that I am thoroughly impressed, the packs of instruments you can use are all wonderful, I love the drag and drop style of it, but there’s just a few things I wish were a little bit better. I wish there were more rap/trap/hip hop style packs or sounds, me personally I make beats and a wider variety of high hats, bass, and sound effects would be amazing. The other thing I wish was slightly better is the ability to input your own sounds/music/samples into the track you’re working on straight from your phone, it already works pretty well, but I’ve discovered that if you are trying to use this app to make a remix of something it doesn’t quite work as well, when you input a sample 30 seconds long And expand it across the track, there will be a slight audio glitch whenever the line passes into a different bar, this makes it difficult and tedious, I have to alter how my sample sounds just to cover up the glitch, if you could please fix this I will love you forever

Amazing app. I got Medly about 7-8 months ago and I loved this app ever since. It really helped me create music like I always wanted too. It fits all my needs to make a song just perfect. I even got my friends to download this app as well and they also love it as much as I do. I don’t have any complaints about it and I love that you can still have access to many things without member. I’d wish I had a little bit more access to other instruments instead of just starter and sapphire pack but it’s honestly ok. I make it work. You do a fantastic job working with this app. However, some glitches to occur… I have to refresh the app sometimes because it mutes some instruments that I didn’t even turn the volume off on. And it also freezes my entire phone sometimes. That could just be a me problem but I thought I’d let you know. Also the glitches don’t happen too often so it’s all good. Have a nice day!

Superb App. I love this app! I’m a piano composer, but I travel quite a bit, and I can’t lug my piano around everywhere. That’s why I use this app. I can log down different notation patterns I like the sound of on the app, and then try them out on my piano when I get home. I love how real the piano sounds are! I had a bit of trouble understanding the app design and how to log in notes at first, but they give handy step-by-steps for how to use many parts of the app, which is spectacular. I still very much prefer physical instruments to this, but I think that’s because I’ve never been an ace with technology—😂. The friend of mine who recommended this app to me uses it to make beats, which just goes to show it is easy to be used for many different people. I could only possibly think of one thing to complain about—which is just that it would be cool if you could lower the cost of a membership. I did try it for a month and loved that I could mess around with violin and saxophone sounds, but I really just would like if it could be a tad cheaper for a yearly subscription. I won’t be ungrateful, though, this is much more of a steal than most apps offer for premium—and just flat out better, too. Thanks for the great app! You guys rock! 😊👍

🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️ NOT A CHANCE I WILL RENT THIS. This app seems like it is cool, and well made, BUT I will NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER be ok with a subscription model for anything that exists in the realm of virtual commodities. I rent tangible items, begrudgingly, but renting software and features of software is absolutely ridiculous, and I think it is absolutely criminal to hide your app’s entire desired feature set behind a NEVER ENDING paywall. I’ll take my business elsewhere. Thanks anyway! P.S. For a look at a better app with a better model, check out Loopy Pro. Buy once, keep the year’s worth of updates and bug fixes. If you don’t want to pay for the following year, you keep what you have already paid for. Pay for another year and get another year of the fixes and features to KEEP. It’s very much more fair to the consumer and without the developer(s) feeling like they are losing their shirt, just like nearly any commercially available ( or PC based) DAW (Reason, Bitwig Studio, Ableton Live, etc.) and it is the furthest I am willing to dive into the idea of renting a virtual commodity. Everyone else can pound sand.

Complaint. Sorry to bother I but I like this app but why do we have to pay to use loops I don’t think really like that many people may not like it too sir you created a great app but the only thing that you should only change is being able to get the loops for free to create some great songs many people would like and download this app it’s perfect just change it to the loops being free take that being a member thing there’s also people that don’t have credit cards or money like me but with this app I can make money I can create many great projects for my Tucson rappers please bro just do that one thing for 7 billion people all around the world think how many people with download this if you do if free just like the app music maker jam or garage band their competition if you just take off the member request many rappers and singers or producers will keep installing it that benifits you because you created something very useful why take money for it if it can be useful so your next invention will be liked because of the first application made was so good know people trust your great creations that benifits you well

Medly got me into music. I got medly at the start of COVID because i was bored and my mom just gave me her Ipad. I didn’t know anything about music, i didn’t even know what the word “melody” meant. But i figured out how the app works very quickly and i used it to write down melodies in my head, and i had a lot of them! In the unpaid version of medly i mostly used the piano sounds and the chiptune. In fact, i used them so much that for weeks of using medly didn’t even notice that there were drum sounds! People say that the unpaid version of medly has too little sounds to pick from, but i didn’t feel that way at all. As a kid that’s never made music before, I just saw soo many posibilities you can do with just the unpaid version. Medly got me extremely intrested into music theory, i just saw music theory as this massive rabbit hole of things to learn that never ends and because of that i wanted to buy an instrument to express what I learned and to be a better musician. Great app.

This app is great, don’t question it.. I was expecting more instruments, of course (the ones there have been out for a long time), but I was not expecting a monthly subscription. I’ve been using this app for a long time because it didn’t have a subscription, I could just buy it and make songs on the go easily. I love the app always but this is not what I expected nor wanted and I’d think a lot of people using this app agree on this. Please take this into consideration. Also, there have been some things that have ticked me of before this. The overlay feature where you could see the notes of other instruments while editing was so useful back then so could you ever consider bringing it back? If you can’t I can understand. Edit: For people who have bought the packs before the update, you will not have to have a subscription for it. It will be kept. For the newcomers and new packs however, you will have to subscribe fir that. Hope that clears the air.

Wonderful. Now before you roll your eyes hear me out. Some may find Medly annoying because you only have one pack without a membership but to me it’s worth it. The membership is a bit pricy (I’m not rich duh) but It’s worth it if you know what you’re doing (Unlike me 😂). You can create wonderful pieces or just simple ring tones. From Intros to background music the possibilities are endless. I would compare this to Minecraft. Pretty good if you are creative and will keep trying to find a solution. If you like me are un experienced the free version is great just to see where you can go with it. I do feel the one moth price is expensive and I think 3.99 or 2.99 would be much more decent, but I understand that the developers need money for the addition of new packs. TL:DR: Free version is great for beginners experimenting and paid is pretty good for intermediate music makers.

Great way to get people inspired to create. First I want to say that the complaints about wanting free or much cheaper add ons are ignorant at best. The app didn’t just plop out of the sky without any investment or work done by the developer. Who do they think spends time making the loops, or coding the app, independently wealthy altruists with nothing but free time on their hands? No of course not. Real living humans do all the work and deserve to be compensated for their efforts. Asking them to work for free is just silly and a little insulting. Try walking into a burger joint and asking them for free food because you can’t or don’t want to pay for it. Same silly thing. Anyway, great looping app that reminds me a bit of Looptastic from iOS past. This is a well thought out app that is excellent for those who are new to music production to explore some creative avenues at a super low cost. I think even some vets with more experience may find this useful as well or at least a bit fun.

I’m not entirely sure what to say!. I was looking for music apps so I can make my own music and every other app has gotten deleted not too long after I’ve gotten it, except for Medly. I went from making random note pattern that made no sense to actually making detailed songs. This app has made it easy for me to understand what I was doing and all the options are amazing! Instruments, Tempo, Keys/Scales, but all in a simple, organized style! The logos of the instruments also add fun to it. Making music has just felt like a fun game thanks to Medly’s developers. I can’t stop listening to all the songs I’ve made and the ones I’m working on. If I could change something, it’d be the ability to make your own instruments, but I’m not too eager for it since there’s already so much to do! When a new pack is released, it feels equivalent to waking up on Christmas and getting presents! 🎄🎁 Also, I think a Eurobeat, Happy Hardcore or any exotic genre of music would be a good pack to add next.

Almost perfect. This app I stumbled upon quite a while ago (think December), and almost immediately upgraded to member. For a price such as almost 25 dollars a YEAR (more or less, I don’t remember exactly), you can get amazing, quality instruments to make music as you wish. But as I continue to make music, one thing keeps nagging me: the inability to change the time signature. All songs and beats you make are required to stick to the common 4/4 time. But sometimes, I might want to make a song that feels Waltz-ier, and want to go for a 3/4 signature, or maybe I want to just go crazy and challenge myself with a 5/4 time signature. I see how implementing this COULD be difficult, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be done. I’ll definitely keep using this amazing program, but if it were to add time signature changes, I would give it a full 5 stars.

10/10 UI & general app but new genres packs are lacking. I love this app! Making music was a passion I set aside ever since my explosive break up with GarageBand. Thanks to Medly, I can start mixing tunes no matter where I am, easily and efficiently. As a developer, It’s rare for me to come across a REAL public use app (rather than design mock ups or $$$$ apps I don’t need) that’s UI/UX is inspirational. I myself aim to create applications that are as clean cut, easy to use and that actually runs smoothly! #devboss #killedit With that said, my only and I really mean only wish is that new genre packs would be available soon!!! The ones we have now are hella rad and I can use all of them for some decent tunes. Yet! The available packs can only go so far since I mostly listens to future bass, trap, dubstep, bass and many electronic dance styles that are, in four words, face melting musical carnage. I weep about the fact there’s not a lot of options for me to play with. I’m sure your working on it! I will wait patiently with eager hope for some new packs that are more my style. Otherwise, keep up the spectacular work and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next!

An AMAZING APP!!!!!!!!!. I’ve tried almost every single music making app on the App Store and nothing comes CLOSE to Medly. I play the piano and the violin and have experience with making music of my own, however making music that way is very time consuming and not very efficient, and not many people who want to make music can play instruments I have several friends like this, BUT with Medly, anyone can! Plus, buying all the different sound packs (like I did) is well worth the money you would spend buying them. Its simple and easy to make music with and I’ve created entire 2-4 minuet songs (that includes all the re editing and even re doing the entire song itself) in a matter of minutes. So I guess the easiest thing to say about Medly is that it’s PERFECT for any kind of person and you shouldn’t waist your time searching for a better music making app. -Tristan Garrison

New Medly sounds grating and annoying, please fix.. Everything sounds different with the new update and not in a good way. It sounds so grating and sharp and it’s really annoying. I attempted to fix it by messing with the HiLo option but wasn’t happy with the results. The drums have this effect where everything else gets quiet when one plays. This is something I notice in a lot of modern edm and I kind of hate it!! I herd a a setting called ducker being mentioned but I can still here this effect clearly when ducker is turned all the way down on all the instruments. The bass is also different it sounds deeper which is ok but it’s also kind of muffled, this is a problem because I like to use a bass sound called overdrive as a lead by turning the pitch all the way up and now it sounds kind of muffled. I regret not saving my songs before this update because now they sound weird. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate all the new stuff in Medly but I want my songs to sound like they did before and for new songs I make to not sound too harsh.

MEDLY IS THE BEST!!! But I have a question. I love medly to death!! It’s the best music making app I have ever came across!! The amount of different sounds and artists to choose from, the diversity of styles of music genres to choose from…. All of that is just breathtaking to me! However, I have a very very big question. So I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I am about to get the iPhone 14 PRO MAX… I am so happy for this opportunity I’ve been waiting for almost a year of! But here’s the thing. I’ve made so much really good music on this app that I don’t want to lose… but I am getting a new phone and I need to switch all my data and stuff to the new phone as soon as I get it… my question is.. will all of the music pieces I’ve created on this app transfer to the new Phone automatically? or do I need to do something to make that happen?

Dissatisfied. I have purchased the Jazz pack, and I am disappointed. I wanted to purchase the pack because I wanted to write out some of the pieces from my previous year in my schools band. The reason I am dissatisfied is because the range for the instruments doesn’t change at all. I was hoping for there to be an option for me to change the octave of the instruments, as I played the Baritone Saxophone. But there wasn’t. I had used the Low A (two ledger lines below the staff) numerous amounts of times and was sad that I couldn’t change it. I don’t want to just move up my music an octave because I’m lazy.... lol. This paragraph has basically just been a persuasive ‘essay’ for you to add an option to lower the octave range. Another hint I would like to mention is that the Gb and G for the Baritone Saxophone sound weird when put on the octave above the lowest F. Thank you for seeing this if you ever do, because I love this app and want to see it succeed.

Lovely, but a Bug and some Suggestions. This app is nice. The new update is alright, though I particularly preferred new packs as in-app purchases over membership (of course, I understand that’s how you guys make money). But recently the app’s been doing something weird: when I play something and turn my phone off, the parts come out all choppy, some not playing at all. Sometimes this leads to the app crashing. If it’s important, I do use Low Power Mode often. I’d appreciate if this were patched. Other than that, Medly is great for beginning musicians; after warming up to it, it’s relatively easy to create tunes. A question I’d like to ask is if new packs as outside of membership will be released, but I’d assume not if you’re plan is to release one membership pack a month. If you could, I’d love for the rock pack to have a dirtier guitar, or have the guitars play for an extended period of time at a consistent intensity. It would also be nice to have a “note” function that you can attach to bars if you want to fix/edit something in the future. It could also be different kinds of stamps. Overall, great app, love to use it :)

Amazing, but this is a suggestion.. I love it! All the different sounds, all the different ways you can make music, all the combos you can make with the music, it’s just amazing... but there is only one problem with me, and it’s something I want content-wise. I want something like the “8-bit plugin.” Something like the “8-bit plugin” is essential for the music I want to make. I am an Undertale nerd, so I want it. Also, people should be able to upload sounds to use and there is an in-app currency you can buy or earn to get things from the store. This would be marvelous, but these are only suggestions. I think this would make you a tremendous amount more money, and us, as users of the app, would love it. Oh and we should be able to download FLPs, too. This would be awesome.

Love the app but one suggestion. I’ve been using this app for quite a while and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT ^~^ I’ve recreated music from Mario Galaxy, Hamilton, and some of the music from orchestra but I have a suggestion, is there any way in a future update an option can be added to change the time signature? Since this app can be used basically anywhere with ease I put in the notes for some of my music so I can listen to only my part since I mostly play by ear but a few pieces are a different time signature or some of the other music I transpose are a different time signature and this app only has 4/4 “^~^ or even to change the time signatures in an individual measure, I’m not really in a hurry or anything for it, it’s just a suggestion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyways, this is my favorite music app to use; it’s fun to use and I love showing people the stuff I make on here and they love listening to it! ^~^👍🏼❤️

Medly, thank u👍🏽. I just got Medly not too long ago, looking for a new music maker and I found Medly, and I gave it a shot. This is probably the BEST music maker I ever used. I love how the controls are so easy, most packs are cheap, and that more sounds are available in the free pack, making easier to make a song without buying everything. Even if i did buy the Future Bass pack, it’s worth it and so cheap. Im probably soon gonna buy the master pack. Out of all the music apps I’ve used, especially Auxy studio, this is the best one. Keep up the good work plz🔥 Edit: Ok, the new update is ok, but a problem. The Master and Band packs used to cost about $9.99 (or around $9) and now, I can’t buy a pack individually anymore because you apparently gotta buy some sort of trial. It was better and easier for me when I could just buy a pack on its own and have it forever instead of buying a trial including ALL instruments for a LIMITED amount of time. Im just suggesting that maybe instead of having just the option of a trial, you can get the packs by themselves OR get the trial. Overall still a good app 😆

Really Good. I’ve been reading some of the reviews about how “this should be free” or “why do you have to be member to get that”, but the response is plain and simple, Medly is a small company that needs funding to continue future operations. Now that that’s out of the way, here’s why I gave this app 4 stars. I get that you do need money, but I feel like at least one instrument pack should be free, I completely understand the reasoning if you are not able to, I just feel limited. The free trials of packs is a really good idea and I feel that listening to what is possible makes me want to be a member, but I just like to make little tracks so I’m not looking to purchase anything. In conclusion, I know I kinda sound like a choosing beggar but I feel there should be two starting packs. Now, I don’t know what all goes into making the instrument sounds, or how much it costs, so that also might be a factor in why the member option is important, but I hope you see where I’m coming from.

Pretty Awesome...but...why?. Look, I get that with the new subscription variable, you can receive a whole new pack monthly (which is pretty cool) but AT LEAST give us the arcade and Christmas packs WITHOUT THE SUBSCRIPTION. I’ve been using this app for, a very long time. Loved it, and I still do. But never in my mind did I think that you guys would throw this in our faces. I mean CMON! You seriously can’t get the best out of EVEN YOUR FAVORITE APPS without some kind of purchase. And it had to be my favorite type of sounds, arcade. I’m super disappointed and dissatisfied, but I still have hope in this app as long as you guys stop bribing us to get a subscription with ARCADE SOUNDS. Couldn’t have been anything else huh? Oh well, I hope this gets resolved and I will Continue to stick with this awesome app (as long as they don’t chuck a “SUPER DELUXE EXTRA AMZING SPECTACULAR” subscription at us.) Thank you.

Almost loving it, almost. I really like it, I do! It’s just that… when your a much younger user, the “free” sapphire instruments becomes less free and more unavailable in general. I suppose I would love it more if I had just one more instrumental. Just one more. But I can’t have it and I’m kinda just stuck making the same noises over and over and over and over and- It’s… boring, and tiering. I like how simple the app is and how easy to understand it is, I just don’t like how restricted I feel with just one type of instrumental. That’s kinda why this app has been wasting away in my phone. Totally forgot I even have it til now after listening to Toby fox music, 1 in the morning, and thinking “Ayo don’t I got a app for this?” Lol I get it, y’all need money n what not. I just wish I had one more. Just one. I’m not asking for the ENTIRE ost to be free cuz that’s just plain stupid and that stuff don’t pay the rent. I just would like one that doesn’t require a subscription, a week trial, or locked behind a paywall. I just want something that’s there, like the starter pack. It doesn’t even need to sound that great! I just want something different, ya know? But hey, I ain’t no musician, I’m just some random kid. Cant really force y’all to do anything lol. I’ve just been thinking about this for the past year, thought I’d at least give my two cents on this app, even if they are small, cheap cents.

For Those Who Love Making The Music. Okay, I want to start out by saying you do NOT need to buy any of the in app purchases in order to make awesome tunes. Everything you need to start with is already there, but if you want to go advance or fine tune your music, I would suggest getting the band pack. Second, the app is EXTREMELY easy to get the hang of, even if you buy the band pack. I’m usually slow in “getting to know” apps, but this came as easy for me. Third, I have no problems with the app in terms of glitching or crashing, other than the times where I make everything extremely loud, which causes the app to either make it staticky or crash, but this is only due to the fact that I tried making it INCREDIBLY loud. This app is simple, easy, but the things you can make on it is incredible.

I loved the app before the 6.0 update. The app is amazing but with the new update changed some things that were already fine, and it wont even let anyone change how thing are. The app should have an option to change certain things things in the app like: how many fingers to scroll (max 3), the way the notes work, note options, ability to change the speed of certain parts of the song, adding your own instruments (im not talking about audio or recording a video), or even just choosing what version you could be on for the bare minimum, etc. its a great app don't get me wrong here i bought the membership its just that version 6.0 kinda ruined it for me. You should at-least be able to change what version you are on.

Amazing app but membership isn’t necessary. This app is the greatest things of my life. I love all of it. Every single piece of it. The way the app works easy and simple to learn and use. And the amount of sound bites to use is plenty and they all sound amazing. My favorite pack is Master! But, sadly I can’t not use it. See, ones you download the app, the pack you start with is the starter and to get any more packs, you have to pay money. Now I would be fine with this if you could retrieve these packs by being given an option to buy as an in-app purchase or as an add-on in the App Store, but nope. I have to pay for a membership. Let’s just list some possible Scenarios that could happen: “1. I’m too young and I don’t have a credit card. 2. I don’t want to add my credit card to my phone cause someone could hack it. 3. I can’t pay for that.” Can guys please change the way I got to pay. Thxs!

Crashes way too much!. I would like to give this app 5 stars but I can’t. I get Auxy is similar and as much as I wish that app would allow vocals in there, you can’t add any. It is why I tried to find a similar app to Auxy and when I stumbled across this app, I thought great. Another app similar to Auxy but better since this app allows you to add vocals, right? Wrong. This app is worse. Despite being able to add vocals every time I try and work on a song and I get into a minute into the song the app begins to crash. Every time I try and re-open my project it just crashes. I really hope this app can get a major stability fix. Keep in mind I am using this app on an iPhone 11 so my phone should be able to support and run this app without a problem. Hope the developers read this and instead of working on more instrument packs work on getting this app fixed first. Then maybe I’ll re consider my review and download this app again.

Jit trippin. Aight I just wanna say sorry, compared to a lot of people your not greedy at all. I made that review a while ago and just now thought about what I painted myself out to be. I’ve also upped my rating to a 4. I haven’t reinstalled the app yet but I have a feeling it will be better than last time. I also have the original review below. So yeah, I’m sorry, everyone needs to make cash somehow. (Also I kinda sound like a Karen in the last review, heck’s nah.) Original review: I like the game. I would legit rate it 5 if it wasn’t so greedy. All mobile games have this “premium” thing I’ve seen it everywhere mobile games are getting worse. I can’t afford premium I’ve got other things to do and I don’t know how to spend my money yet. So I was pretty disappointed when I found out my favorite genre, dubstep, was premium only. So yeah legit most of the things in this are premium. I would recommend only if u like wasting cash.

Fantastic app, some suggestions. To get it out of the way, I love this app. I have no problem paying the yearly subscription because honestly, the content given is worth the cost. As someone who has used medly since 2016, I have some ideas that I would love to see. First, the ability to have ritardandos and accelerandos being stuck at one tempo severely hampers the more advanced level of song writers. Second, the ability to change the time signature. This would be great because not all songs are in 4/4, and even just adding 3/4 would open avenues to much more dynamic music. Finally, revamp of some of the older sounds. Such as the jazz and classical, their sound fonts are kind of… well trash. As someone who develops sound fonts for websites such as MuseScore, they aren’t terribly difficult. Thank you for reading this, and I can’t wait till the next pack comes out. Sincerely, Isaiah

Please Read. Hey Medlylabs! I just want to say that this app is amazing and I pretty much use it everyday. For the price, the amount of content you have is fantastic and I couldn't ask for more. There's just a few questions I have about some instruments. Firstly, the guitars. The guitars in the rock pack are pretty cool, but they seem to only last as long as a single pluck. Like, you can't extend the sound for more than one beat or so. Why is that? It used to be different some years ago but you guys changed it before I could buy it. I'd really love to use the guitar instruments (because a lot of the songs I cover are pop rock and need guitars) but I can't use them the way they are now. Is there any way you can change them or make a new pack? Secondly, the violin, cello, and bass instruments lag by half a beat. Could you remove the lag? It’s sort of irritating because it doesn’t flow. Thank for reading this!

There’s a problem with the new update. So, the new way to swipe to different bars of your song is to use the dots at the top of the screen. This is pretty useful if you don’t want to manually swipe and swipe to get to the part you want to edit. However, I wish I still had the option to manually swipe. If I do that now, it goes all the way to four bars later. I don’t have access to edit certain notes and it feels really annoying and clunky. Wish I could visually show you what I’m talking about, but I don’t think there’s a way to do that on here. As of right now, I can’t use your app the same anymore. Hope this gets resolved soon ✌️ Edit: Ok, I don’t know if you guys did anything or not, but I’m not having that issue anymore. I was going to send a video to you guys explaining everything, but there wouldn’t be anything to show. All I can say is thanks!!

It’s good for beginners and casuals! Get Auxy Studio too.. This app is just not a great app for me. It’s not my main DAW but I use it every once in a while for fun. The method of viewing scenes is restricting: You can’t easily have the same loops in multiple scenes, because the copy-paste can become tiresome. Medly features 10 or so instruments for free, and honestly, the selection is decent but the sample quality is a little lacking for professional use. If you are serious about music making, try Auxy in addition to Medly. It has customizable high pass and low pass settings, reverb, flexible delay settings, customizable drum kits, equalizer, and attack/release controls. These features would greatly improve Medly. Thats why I’m only rating this app 3 stars, because it’s not really for me. For now, Auxy is my choice for professional mobile music making. While Medly is not something I use often, it’s worth a try if you’re a casual user.

Fantastic Platform. Love medley, been a user for a few years. I pay annually for the membership and it is always worth it to me. They started adding on packs sometime through my time with them, so you’re always getting more and more variety. Only issue I have had recently is that audio clips intermittently just will not upload. I get past the screen where you choose your BPM, Key, Major/Minor etc.. and hit import, and nothing will show up in the slot. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. It says that it works for samples up to 30 seconds and all of mine I have this issue with are 5-25 seconds. Otherwise, it’s a pretty in depth music software in the palm of your hand, I recommend to anyone who is interested in creating as a fun hobby, but not want to spend a fortune on DAW, MIDI, etc ..

Another Subscription Swindle. Pretty sure I paid outright for this app, now it seems to have changed to a subscription model, with features I already paid for no longer accessible. No thanks.

Impressive. Many similar apps will have me compiling and mixing for a while, only to pump out a rather limited number of variations. (which is also fun). Medly however has the versatility and depth necessary to go further and is amongst the best music generator apps i have tested. An option to set 3beats per bar would make it stand out even further. Also, I'm not sure if the iphone 4S is at it's threshold in regards to automation / volume envelopes (which are accessible using many other devices), or, perhaps a version is possible to make this feature available using the 4S, idk. Everything does work as intended and i recommend Medly to all,, thankyou,, and well done!

Amazing. It’s very easy to use but, i have problems with music pauses because there is no 3 page option and because of that, my pauses are either too long or too short

Great sounds and easy to use but…. I’ve been using this app for a while and made three songs that were easy to make and export, except for one problem. The app doesn’t have any metronome or rhythm check and the sections seem to cut off before heading into ones. The music doesn’t quite flow like it should. For a 40 buck sub? The app should be able to have a rhythm detection and a metronome. Disappointing that it has such cool virtual instruments, yet the subscription is overpriced and the melody is always off rhythm. I would resub if it were cheaper and had something to help check rhythm. Hopefully we can get this to work, the beats just don’t sound the same on other apps.

Awesome. What’s the next pack that u guys are releasing could I add more bass to the next one like more future house sorta stuff and future bass I’ve also released a few songs using this app and I say from a producers perspective it’s actually rly amazing for an on the go DAW rly useful and amazing keep up the good work but please make a pack more towards future house or more bass house synths also maybe a change I. The scale as it would be good to have some Channels play at a different key than all of them have the same key

Apple Ruined It. I love the app. It’s got good rhythms and a good way to make music. Without the subscription you can still make cool things. I only send my songs on messages, so why the F#&$ does it not play the full song? Apple ruined it, so 🤬 them. It is all my songs. It must be that apple has not updated messages recently so some of the ways to send them are not compatible. Also, why does it crash? Every time I open up a member demo it crashes. Do you know how to fix?

Whoop whoop!. This is great! I have been looking for an app with MIDI (i think) but in the handbook, can you make it it tells us what the stuff is for and not how? Also, for those who download this , at the membership thing at the start of the app can you make the x a bit more visible? I know it’s a trick and not to be rude, but you know, i think more people would download this if it weren’t for the invisible x. Thx - a Midgett

Sound not good. For me... the longer the song the sound get worse and worse ...

Absolutely amazing but…. This app has truly helped me make music but here’s a little tip-ish thing: For the starter pack, probably add a few more sounds in it for people who’ve not used a membership or don’t want one. Example: you should add an atmospheric sound to the started pack along with another drum type. That’s all I’ve gotta say but over all, I love the app, thanks!

This is much better than garage band period. Hello! I have enjoyed this for the past 10m of getting it haha. I enjoy this dearly because I have been having trouble trying to make music! Thank god for Frances Focalor for doing a tutorial on how he/she/they made his/her/their music! From— floofys lemonade —or: floofy Haha .^. Thx for the amazing app!

I would recommend. Great app

Great app but…. I don’t like the subscription only feature. Maybe you could give us an option to buy packs we want instead. I don’t get a lot of time to spend on this app so paying for a subscription seems hardly worth it given that it will take me some time to work out all the mechanics of it.

Thanks. HDR Thanks for all your help

Great but music suggestion. Great app love it I have pro and I like sad songs so maybe some sad type beats Also when record something why is it only 4 bars other than that great

It’s great, ...... however!. This is an impressively presented product however we don’t generally like or agree with a subscription marketing model. Having said that, this is a great concept, has a terrific GUI and is a generally highly creative app.

awesome. One of the best music apps I’ve ever tried

We need this:. Grid snap in automation.

Amazing App! Suggestion!. Love the app it’s amazing for music! There’s a subscription to get ALL the packs…but…you have to pay regularly. Can there be a lifetime buy for individual packs. Some may not be useful which is why each individual pack should be able to be sold. I love the app and I’m always excited to see what updates come. Please consider my suggestions! Thanks :)

5 stars review + request. Heya, this is an INSANE software for beginners, it has everything you need! And people complaining about the subscription thing? It’s one of the best out there! 35 bucks a year is extremely good for what you get! On the request side of things, could you add a pack that sound like the Tf2 soundtracks? (It’s a well known game) maybe like bongos or chains and steam sound effects! Like a whole FX pack!

Pretty decent considering the platform. This app is pretty simple and fun to use and I've purchased the master pack and everything is better. A complaint I do have with the app though is the inability to individually alter the speed of each box thingy, it's made audio recording and sampling pretty tricky and annoying and I don't want the only option to speed up and slow sounds to lie solely with the alteration of the BPM. Otherwise a really good app and recommend to anyone else who's interested in creating beats and instrumentals, especially with the masters kit

It’s not good without spending money. It costs money before you can access more then like 3 notes and you can’t import without spending 50$ a year

Would recommend for beginners. I would recommend for beginners because it is easy to use and comes with starter sounds.

More time signature options. This is a really great app to compose and create music with, it has a variety of sounds and instruments that let you play a vast array of different styles, however one thing I’ve always wished this app could do is play in 3/4 time and/or have 3 bars per section. It is very frustrating to try to compose songs in 3/4 with this app. Besides that, the app is very accessible for beginners and is a good and affordable tool for musicians and composers to use. Highly recommend just please add 3/4 time signatures, or time signatures period.

Sort of cool. After you get into it it’s just making normal song. Please make it more exciting.

Handbook confusing. The handbook doesn't explain how to export a single piece of element to pc Or am I missing something?

Great app. This is app is one of my favourite music apps. It is easy to use and produce music. Is there a way to transfer the music or set a piece of music as a ringtone. If not can you plz add it.

Excellent. Best music maker app I've seen by far. Nothing comes close to what you can do with this app. My only suggestion is more updates please!

Great except for constant crashes. The app is awesome but constantly crashes on my iPad mini 2. The extra packs seem quite over priced as well. But still an awesome tool.

This is the app I’ve been searching for 🤍. This app is a dream come true. If you’re looking for the best way to make music easily on mobile, while maintaining impressive levels of creative freedom, you will likely find everything you need in Medly- and believe me, that’s without a subscription. I am really going to miss my 7 day trial! That’s a me problem, though. The style range in the free pack surprised me. It includes more than enough material to go off. Working with timing becomes tedious once a piece gets too involved, and the note durations + spaces can be awkward and confusing. Personally, it took a lot of adapting to. I consider this more a flaw with the mobile platform than anything else. There are definitely limits on what can be realistically achieved by the developers right now. Also, not that I’ll be enjoying the luxury of the HUGE variety of sounds and instruments available for long, I still thought I’d ask whether there are any plans to add more classical instruments? In particular maybe some more authentic guitar sounds? I understand this isn’t the type of music the app is focused on, but I find the authentic instrumental stuff is great for establishing a clean foundation upon which changes in sound and effects can be built. In the end it’s hard to dwell on things Medly lacks because the developers have evidently gone above and beyond in make the app they know we need- this is clear when comparing it to anything else available right now. If the cost is an issue for you, as it is for me, don’t let that put you off giving Medly a chance. Yes, the subscription is amazing and worth it (in my opinion) if you can afford the small price. However, you get so much in the default pack alone that not purchasing a subscription won’t subtract from your experience in any way.

LOVE IT. This game is used to create beats perfect for beat writing

Uhh.... It’s great but... WHY THE HELL DOES NONE OF THE INSTRUMENTS PLAY ANYMORE REALLY? I brought everything except for the stuff in the subscription packets but like NOTHING WORKS.

So good!. This app is so wonderful & and creative 😝

Really good, except it keeps crashing. It is a really good music making app, but I’ve been having difficulty recently. Whenever I try to export as a video, audio, or to Soundcloud, the app crashes after 10 seconds or so, voiding the export. It also won’t let me listen to the project fully in the edit board, only letting me play 10 seconds to a minute. Can you please help me. I am on an iPad Air (1st generation) and have iOS 12.4.2, which appears to be the final update I can have on my ipad, so I can’t update. I am very annoyed.

Watch out for the subscription wall. Looks good, but really??? Only one stinking pack and the rest are under a subscription wall? NOPE. See ya later; I’m getting something else.

Hey guys who wants to play mine craft with me. .b

3/4. Why can’t you do 3/4 time?

Good! But........ Last time I downloaded medley and it was an amazing app!! This app is GOOD! BUT every time as in: 1 of 8, it keeps crashing. So... very good app.

Love the app except.... This app is great. Better than GarageBand and any other mobile music app out there. I use this to remix my trumpet playing into a super chill song. However. The thing that edges it close down to a 4 star is the subscription. When I went down to the in app purchases, I was for sure going to get a couple of packs. But when I found out it was a subscription, it put me off right away. In future, I hope they can implement a system where you can only buy one or two packs before needing to buy the subscription. If this does happen you can be sure i and many others will use this app more often. Other than that, I have nothing else to say. Clean design, no crashes and great sounds. Just the subscription that put me off a bit...

Use a Update for release date. 😽 new music

Nice!. It’s really awesome for making songs and remixes but, it’s it ok if you fix it please? By that I mean the crashing.

This app is amazingly awesome! Just needs a few bug fixes. I’ve never experienced such an amazing app like this. I have all options to so many musical tracks and that. Okay now the bug part so sometimes when you go to the drum or possibly the synths and that it brings you like...it’s hard to explain it like gives you a blank screen with only 3 notes showing sometimes you can click the notes and it will just turn back to normal and the other problem idk if it’s fixed or not but when you copy and paste it sometimes glitches and permanently stops you from copy and pasting and just leaves the copy and paste options on your screen you would have to restart the app to stop the copy and paste glitch but other than that this app has a bright future ahead of it bro keep it up

It’s really good. Ok so I’ve just started making my own music and this app is pretty good, but there are some parts of the app that aren’t as great it’s cool how you get some of it free but if you want to make really cool and amazing music the play thing that’s stopping you is the membership, it’s not to expensive but there’s only one pack I want and I would rather buy it instead of the other ones I don’t really want to use. It would be five star if you got to buy the packs Separately instead of the membership.

Hey Please Read This. I Bought Premium And... I DIDNT GET IT!?! I WANT MY PREMIUM BACK 😡

Ruined By Subscription. Used to be a good app that you could pay a smaller amount when you wanted by paying for a pack. Now the devs have gone down the greedy and obtrusive road of forced payments every month which includes packs you don’t even want. There are other apps that still allow you to either make a one off payment or pay per item....use them instead and let subscription based apps suffer the consequences.

Brilliant - but one suggestion. Firstly let me say what a terrific app this is. Simple to use, no glitches, and most of all it provides hours of enjoyment in creating new music. My only suggestion to the developers is if you could increase the amount of fx or 'samples' as this would add what my creations are missing - vocals. Once again thank you for creating a terrific app!

Can’t share app across devices. Can you please enable sharing across devices? I have an old iPhone and don’t want to risk losing all my hard work

Good BUT the subscription ruins the app.. Medly is a fantastic music creation app that boasts a user-friendly interface and a vast array of tools for composing and producing music. Its intuitive drag-and-drop features make it accessible for beginners, while its rich sound library and powerful editing capabilities cater to more advanced musicians. However, it's frustrating that Medly requires a subscription to access its full potential. Many users, especially those who enjoy creating music casually, would appreciate a one-time purchase option or at least a more affordable tier for essential features. Removing the subscription model or providing alternative payment options would undoubtedly make Medly even more appealing to a broader audience. Despite this drawback, Medly remains a top-notch music-making tool that's worth considering if you're passionate about music composition.

Musical creativity. Just the app to let beginners make great songs.

Awesome app!!!😱. I love this app! It's really cool how you can be creative with your music! Can you please make the other music sounds free though. It will then be my favourite app! And I have a lot of apps...😂

More than I hoped for.. I loved it.

Amazing, stop begging.. Medley is an all built for making music on a MOBILE PHONE. At least thank them for making this possible on a device used for calling people virtually. Also, if you’re gonna write a review saying “MORE FREE STUFF! THIS SUCKS!” Then you shouldn’t be making music in the first place. The world isn’t free, and their time isn’t free either. Pay the damn Subscription, and stop complaining about something that is already top-tier. Props to the Medley team, keep it going. This app is amazing, EVEN IF you aren’t a member.

Great. I've had this app for about 4 years now. I've subscribed for two years but ended it because of my financial circumstances. I still keep the app with the free version because the piano is all that matters for me to be able to make melodies, and chords. It's a simple but effective DAW. I just read the developer responses though, and they seem like they have actual humans behind them that explain themselves rationally. Never seen such class. I also live in Canada, and aspire to work with you guys. (I'm an undergrad in software engineering) Just trying to make connections 😂 Love the music, and the mentality y'all have. 🇨🇦

Not for beginners. Really complicated🫣🙄😬😵‍💫

add new sounds! ❤️ (and add chords). It would be cool if you added a dubstep pack or a glitch core pack, It would be really cool! You guys should also add chords, it could be very helpful when making songs! You guys can check out my YouTube channel! SmolBunnyxoxo with candy

Very good app. Good app

Best app ever. Oh thank you for making this app, it means a LOT! Free pack, some are paid, and EASY TO MAKE MUSIC! So, MAKE MORE APPS LIKE THIS PLEASE!

Lol. Dis app is super

Great. This is a really great app

Why.. I know you won’t let us get anything! Almost all of it is have to be payed!!! I don’t like this game! Don’t get it! It sucks! NOBODY GET THIS HORRIBLE APP! DONT DONT GET! IT IS SO BAD! WE CANT EVEN PLAY ANY PACKS! IS SO BORINGGGG I MEAN AT LEAST GIVE US A 7 DAY FREE TRIAL!

Generic sounds. Trash not only because of how generic everything sounds but you replied to someone’s review with at least 3 paragraphs and all 3 had BandLab in them somewhere so here’s the truth obviously for an IPhone GarageBand is a must cos it’s better than this app and while we’re talking about better let’s bring up BandLab and the fact that app is better than this one too and if you think your app is better than Soundtrap I hate that app but it’s still better than your app ‘nuff said

Add more packs for purchase. This app was great until they added the subscription feature. I feel like there could be many great music possibilities if they made each pack available for purchase or if they made packs specifically for purchasing outside of the base packs that were available before they added the subscription feature.

Pay pay pay z🙁. Love the app but why do we gotta pay ?? Its just annoying

Amazing app!. Why is everyone dunking on this app because of the membership!? It’s so cheap! Most apps have memberships that are like $20 per month and offer so much less. No ads even without the membership? That’s something you don’t see alot. 16 instruments with all the automation features and over 100 loops without a membership? Thats just insane. And to think people are saying this is a SCAM. Ever since i got the membership I’ve been making music better than I ever have on things like GarageBand and Groovepad. And the music is original too! Im not just using loops. Also, the developers actually read these reviews, like they respond to the message instead of just “Thank you for the support!” using bots. All I’m saying is, this app is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

Recording needs work. It a really fantastic app .I can’t give it 5 stars because I can’t listen to the rest of the track while I record. I should at least have the option to do that. It would make syncing up lyrics waaaaaay easier

More crashes with every update. Been a loyal paying member for years now and the app is amazing but the crashes are unbearable. Every time theres a new update I get more and more crashes when Im not even doing anything particularly complex, or something that would be taxing on the app. These crashes used to be less frequent and would at least save my work, but now I just lose it entirely every time the app dies. Really upset because Im losing my hard work.

Very very good!. We need at 16 instruments that can be added! That would be so amazing

It’s Okay…. This App is Okay… but I wish the Phonk Music Pack was Free, Then it will get Five Stars. Thanks!

very mehhhhh. the included sounds are like a 70,s video game…. when you move a chord you should be able to hear it you cant export you can’t clear a song….. really?

Too many paywalls. If im going to buy a music app, i want the extra stuff to feel, well, extra. Honestly, i just want to make decent music without having to pay monthly to access more than a couple instruments. Can you guys who made the game please reply, and then address this problem?

Very Very good app. Now I have been seeing the reviews like “More free packs!” all the time but Medly’s membership is is almost the best out of all of the other apps. First of all you can get access to all of the music packs in the entire app (which is A LOT!) for a good price. Also this is probably the best music production app in the App Store. Like it has all the fundamentals to turn someone into a music producer. And one guy I know is using it for the music in their indie game. All I’m saying is that just buy the membership. Every penny is worth it.

I like it. It’s a very good app overall, but one thing I would suggest is to make a lot of instruments free. I don’t mind the starter pack, but I would really appreciate it if you make the other packs free! Thank you very much.

.... the worst part about this app is actually just the snarky sounding developer responses to everyone's reviews. far worse customer service than the app.

Amazing app, but some problems…. This app has been great for anytime I want to make some music. It’s simple, but works really well. But, there are alot of problems with the app crashing and me losing a bit of my progress when using automation, audio, or loops. There also needs to be a second rock pack as the electric guitars in that one are… not exactly that good. Other than that, this app is great.

Cool but…. When I try to do automation, the app crashes.

Good. I think the devs should put electric bass and autistic bass in there own catigory in types of instruments

So far so good Thanks. Bit confusing but educational

I don’t care. I know how to make music, and I don’t need to copy and paste! So just tell us how to put a note and stretch.😊🤬🤬🤬🤬😤😤😤😇

Super. The game is super fun because you can make any kind of music.

love medly. best app ever made. thank you

Amazing app!!. It’s like an easier version of fl studio, I’ve been using fl for a couple of years but this app one hundred percent is a lot easier to use on the go!

Pretty good ngl. Good app

very good. it's really simple to use and the ui is made in a way that it's not to hard to navigate around and it actually feels very mobile friendly which i like a lot. i would like more free instruments added if possible though but other than that, good app.

Needs an undo button. I’m loving this app after just a few days playing with it. It’s pretty basic and won’t allow you many controls that desktop softwares would, but i can deal with that since it’s a mobile app and we wanna keep it simple and intuitive. The only thing it desperately needs is an undo button.

Perfecto. Absolutely awesome! Perfect for anyone who has creativity!

It would be good, if it weren’t for subscriptions.. I love the instruments that you give us and they’re very useful, but all that is thrown in the trash with the godforsaken paywall. Even GarageBand has similar instruments to you and they don’t have a paywall. Get rid of the subscriptions, just make it so you can pay at least $13 dollars to get the packs without a subscription. Please, listen to this.

Dang. Honestly would use this app but the developers think they can make money, this is an iOS game, if you want fans, make everything free THEN go from there, I wanted to use something that would be good to use on the go, but I can’t even make any music with the little starter pack the provide, I’ll stick to FL studio thanks for nothing...

Awesome. Good for practice.

Amazing app and UI……Subscription. Limited amount of starter pack sounds, can’t import sounds either without subscription. Make 1 time payment option, would gladly purchase.

Professional real life musician here,. Coming in a review I would like to mention that there’s not a lot to use in the one starter pack. You do have a lot of packs which are in one member ship but most likely for an idea when you first get the app you have the basic pack, and then you can choose one more pack that you would want to use, as well as being able to look over all of the packs and listening to all the instrumented sounds. As well as this, the basic pack only has one option for drums which really sets the bar low for us drummers here who are making music, especially since some of us can’t afford a full membership just to get one pack that we want to have an actually realistic and good sounding drum kit on Medly. Great app overall, made some of my most popular videos with it, but there’s gotta be more variety, right?

Levi reid. This is a great app for music editors that are up for a challenge at first but when you get a hang of it you get to it really fast and this app kinda simplifies making the music easier so great going you devs

Add more instruments. Add more free instruments please, and don’t reply by saying you are offering the best free pack in the app store because that is completely wrong, bandlab is completely free, it has over 100 free instruments and alot more free loops and effects than medley

Force et faiblesses. C’est Magic mais il manque quelques fonction avant que ça ne devienne un séquenceur professionnelle.. bravo

Great app!. I do not understand people complaining and giving one star because the complete app is not free. Those are meaningless reviews. Nothing is free nowadays, so why would software developers work for free? The app has a lot to offer for free and is well put together. The “I want all instruments to be free” crying babies should be ignored.

Great app!. Sometimes I can spam random places on a track and it makes catchy tunes. I’d like it if there were more instruments for free, because a lot of the tracks sound a little the same with the basic stuff. But it’s a great app nonetheless! Edit: I understand. I couldn’t imagine spending months on fixing bugs! Although I probably won’t become a member, I hope you keep on making quality updates!

Dont wants the app din’t know need to pay for all the content. Please give me back my money

Good app for producing. Great for producing for a friend to rap too.

Awesome!. Awesome app, a great music maker for starters and the membership is worth it, I think it would be cool for a riddim dubstep pack or future house pack, just suggestions, love this guys🔥😎👍

Woh. Great. Is it possible for you guys to add a phonk pack? Its something that would surprise other medly users since its kinda a whole new music genre, if it did come out i hope i would be the first 😁

Greedy Developers.. avoid avoid avoid!!!!. The free version of this app is disgustingly limited. The devs have no interest in making more instruments or sounds available in the free version, as they’ve stated a number of times. The devs are so far removed from reality that they think the free version is actually useful. Laughable. You can download a number of free DAWs for your computer that all outperform this app in every way possible… so I don’t know how Medly rationalizes their pricing. What a joke !!! If you want to download an app that shoves subscriptions in your face every minute, this app is for you! As a free user, most of the buttons you click or sounds you pick will simply take you to their subscription landing page, where they will try to rip you off :) Clearly you guys are greedy and not actually interested in making a useful app. Your app is not nearly worth the subscription price, and your free version is an actual joke. The app will inevitably fail, as there are plenty just like it that are far cheaper. But I’m sure you don’t care about that, as you’re clearly profit driven. Maybe make the app useful for free users, and then you wouldn’t have to shove subscription offers down everyone’s throat in order to make money :) your reputation dwindles day by day, and rightfully so!

Nice but…. Its nice but theres bugs that are not letting me do what I want

Great app! Slightly upset... Please change this!. Don’t get me wrong. I love this app and make loads of tracks on it that I enjoy. It is easy to pick up and learn, and once you become good, you can make seemingly professional tracks. My only issue is that I used to love the fact that you can purchase different sound packs separately. With the new membership program makes it feel like a license to keep the instruments that you pay for rather than actually owning them if you get what I mean. Hopefully there can be a way to add both ways of obtaining a pack of sounds for users who don’t want to jump right into the membership. Me and many others are really looking for a change to revert back to the old ways of obtaining new sounds. I hope you understand where I’m coming from with this, and that something can be done soon! Thanks for reading!!

Super fun. I’m a music producer and honestly I had a blast toying around in this hahah. An incredibly well made app—having such limited options really forces you to be creative in how you write. That being said: an FX instrument would be an awesome feature! Impacts/downlifters/risers etc... this has pretty much everything except those, which make a big difference. And effects in general, like reverb or delay sends+respective automation would be killer. I also wish I could zoom in and out of my arrangement window. Regardless, this app feels great to use, and I was able to make something that got me dancing. Great job!!

Pretty good app. I’ve been using Medly for over two years now, and i use it for most of my music. I would different recommend Medly for anyone who is willing to pay a little money. However, if you’re looking for something free, then this is not the app for you. You only get access to a single pack if you don’t pay money. Though it’s not a bad price considering there’s like 20 packs, and they’re adding a new pack every other month. Overall i’m giving this app a 5 star rating because i love it and it’s a great app. Honestly i don’t why this isn’t higher up on the music charts.

Medly best music maker. I downloaded this app a while ago and I love it, one of my songs on SoundCloud has almost a hundred views, I never thought I was going to be good at making music but I am pretty good, but I didn’t know this until now, I’m trying to be a member and get better instruments and I have a visa gift card and there is 15 dollars left on it and as I was trying to make the monthly payment it wouldn’t accept my card, I know that I didn’t use it when I had 15 dollars left and it just won’t let me use the money to become a member, but that’s the only negative thing I have to say about the app, I really recommend getting the app

Great but improvements are defined possible. I love this app and have used it to jot down musical ideas and make some decent tracks. The sound selection is alright if you’re wanting to mostly do electronic styles of music and you can certainly get better sounds but these are great for the cost. My biggest concern for the app is the lack of different time signatures and measure lengths. It’s impossible to make any music outside of 4/4 3/4 or 6/8 and have it loop well. Some more variation in these aspects would be greatly appreciated but overall it is a great app and I will continue to use it for years to come.

All around nice stuff.. Starting off, it gives you a good starter pack for free. This allows a frugal person like me to make great music for what I'm paying, which is nothing. The member subscription is cheap, and gives access to MANY more sounds. More sounds can be purchased as well after becoming a member, which opens creativity to the point where you are the limiting factor, not the toolset. The UI is great, and it looks very smooth and clean. About the only problem I have is with eq-ing, which I don't think is a feature and I think could make this app better (although there's probably a reason why it's left out).

Amazing App, Want More Features. First off, out of all the music apps I’ve tried, this one is by far the best. It is EXTREMELY intuitive. I decided to buy the membership (which is shockingly affordable by the way) very quickly. There are a few things this app needs before it reaches perfection, but the most important of those things, in my opinion, is time signatures. That’s my number one request. If you aren’t working on it already, please add options for time signatures other than 4/4; it would immensely increase the utility of the app. You’d make me a subscriber for so much longer, maybe even for life.

Amazing, but I have an idea/issue. Hello :) I have been using Medly for +3 years and I have to say. From then to now it’s been an amazing ride using Medly. I do have a little issue, for the loops I use personally that I transfer to my phone an then into Medly, I can’t seem to use a Loop that’s over 30 seconds. I’d like to be able to use any loop and any length it is to continue making music that I love, with the app I love. I only ask to use any length of a loop I have downloaded on my phone onto Medly without restrictions, but the app is amazing over all and I hope the crew helping with this app has an amazing day :)

I Have One Problem. I’ve been using Medly for a year and a half now and I love it. It has really helped me develop my music producing. I started from absolute nothing and I was able to grow with Medly, and I will continue to. The one issue I run into a lot though is when Medly cuts out some of the sounds I insert. I’ll be listening through a song I just made and a certain part I put in won’t play even when I delete the note and put it back. A lot of the time I have to restart the app and sometimes the instruments will play their part again but this isn’t 100% of the time. This is extremely annoying and I hope you fix it soon.

Suggestion. Is there a way that you could set up a system as to where people could vote for the monthly pack genre? Don't get me wrong I love the app and the variety of instruments, but the sounds do have a similarity issue. Too similar. A Tropical House Pack after already have a Dancehall Pack isn't the best idea to me (Especially since Dancehall is the biggest one). When you have many versions of basically the same sound, it started to feel oversaturated. If your team were to release a genre like Synthwave or Alternative/Indie, that would be amazing Other that little thing, the app is amazing, easy-to-use, and fun. I've used it since near the beginning and it has only gotten better.🤩🤘👏

It’s great but limited. I just want to start off by saying, this app is not bad. It’s really fun to just play with and helpful to use if ever making music. I’m glad that they don’t use ads at all and it gives things to start out with to help you learn it. But after a while I got pretty bored using the same one starter pack, so I wanted to use more. But the problem with that is there is a ton of great packs that I could’ve used, but can’t since it’s pretty pricey. I feel like there should be more packs that are free to help it be more interesting other than the app begging for me to pay for more. Once again I respect that it doesn’t use ads but instead of ads it begs for you to pay for the other packs. Love the app, it’s fun to use, but I’m only giving three stars because one starter pack only gets you so far.

Great app! BUT........ Love this app great way to start making music but my only problem is that you only get a starter loop and every other loop isn’t free so it’s kind of hard to make a different genre of music that requires a different sound or beat:( please make the loops free I could understand why the developers put the other loops for members but if you can make all the loops free that are in the app right now and add more loops that are exclusive so people have to buy the loops not join a membership it would be so much better so just make all the loops free in the app then add new ones you have to BUY thank you Because there are other apps that all the loops are free and they add new ones like every week or so. You the developers would get way more people to download the app

Excellent app with lots of potential. This is a great concept, and the app is super well made. I’m reviewing this to push back on all the top comments being cost complaints. Good products shouldn’t be “free”. Imo this is well worth <$4/month they ask, and I respect that far more than an app sending a million ads or microtransaction pop ups. Well done, thx for making such a cool toolkit accessible on mobile. If I could make one request / suggestion though: good pitch-adjustable user audio Vocoding would be insanely cool. Sure it’s not easy, but it would be a massive value add.

Issues With Imported Audio. There is a wide range of instruments & they are fun to arrange, as well as to adjust volume, echo, reverb, etc. and the gradual progression of those through automation. Theoretically, this is a great app and the monthly subscription fee is very reasonable. However: 2) My biggest concern is the audio import feature - the fact that it is limited to only 30 seconds in length, and furthermore even if you do only have 30 seconds, it makes a weird jump in audio when split into 2 parts (even if you click continue from previous section) is very inconvenient. Having the ability to import continuous audio that flows seamlessly across sections, and goes for a longer period of time, would be enormously helpful. 1) There are also issues with some of the higher or lower notes on certain instruments, that end up sounding odd; this is a minor problem though, as most of them are fine. I believe that this app could be improved vastly through allowing imports of longer audios, and allowing those audios to be stitched together across sections without interruptions. Potentially, it could also be improved by fixing up the notes on a couple of instruments; but again, this part is minor.

Amazing music production app, great for first-timers. I've never attempted to produce music before, but I decided to try this app out and once I started experimenting with everything I started to finally get into a sort of flow state where all the sounds started to just come together. The UI is pretty straightforward and the app is pretty easy to understand and use. If you want to take a first step towards music producing but don't want to buy crazy expensive programs, this is the app you'll want to check out. The basic set that it comes with is alrighty, but the fun really starts once you buy more instruments.

Suggestions. I personally love this app and use it a lot in my free time. I have made some pretty cool songs. There are some suggestions I have. First, add a way to change the scale. I never really use the pentatonic scale but a major scale or something would be helpful. Also, add 3/4 Time. If I saw these changes made this would easily be my favorite app. Keep up the good work! Edit: Definitely pickup this app. Crazy to see that my suggestions were actually implemented! I personally have created 85 songs in the app and can’t wait for the next update. A way to change time signature would be nice.

Keeps bugging up. This is great app to make music on (if you pay) but the more I use it, the more it pisses me off. I can’t just relax on making music because when you play the music, all kinds of glitches would happen. Some notes won’t start, some notes won’t stop, and usually I would fix it by stopping the song and playing again. It used to work the first time, but now, more often, it would take me 5-10 tries for the music to actually play correctly. To add to the fun, the line that is SUPPOSED to follow the music will now jump to the middle of the page or just not show up at all. This app can’t be a four if I can’t make music without me trying to throw my phone across the room. PLEASE FIX SO I ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING WITH THIS APP THAT I HAVE ALSO PAID FOR!!!

Downgrade…?. I’ve been using this app for a while now; Before additional, new packages were being released. But up until maybe early this year(?), there were multiple, free instrument packs with additional ones being member-exclusive… Yet now, all except for the Starter pack are locked behind a paywall. You’ve claimed in response to other reviews that the majority of what this software has to offer is given free of charge, yet only 16 out of 478 instruments in total are available without membership. As a long-term user of this app, I find this frustrating, and admittedly a little distasteful. I wouldn’t be as disappointed had there not been so many previously-free tools put behind a paywall.

It’s good but.... I love this app so much! However, it would be more helpful if either, there were more free sounds/loops or if you could actually purchase sounds instead of paying monthly/weekly for a membership. I say this because I am young (still in school) and I love making music, but, seeing as I am young I don’t have a lot of money to spend monthly, and my parents said they won’t pay for it. Edit: Thank you for replying and making me aware of your circumstances. I will take in to consideration what you have said. And to end with a question: is there any way to purchase sounds? Again thank you for the response.

8/10 not bad. There’s not much to complain. The prices are fair. I don’t see why people are complaining for a free app. It’s not like they charge you every time you open the app. What they’ve made is much cheaper than fl studio. The app is easy to use. You can basically take it anywhere it’s much better than all the music apps you can get. Some cost more than this. So if you want to become a future producer you should first think of prices. This is one of the cheaper ones so don’t complain about the money it’s better if you try a different app if you can’t afford it. Don’t try and haggle an app that doesn’t get as much money as all those apps that insert a 30 second video after you click on an instrument. Or take advantage of the free trial.

Medley Review because yes. I’ve stuck with you guys for the past 4 years, and I gotta say, I love the app and how easy it is to use. Plus the sheer power of the studio and how much atmosphere the sound fonts can produce. One problem I do have is with the Playback function. It tends to completely drop out certain instruments or jump ahead in the song out of nowhere. The dropping of instruments is usually due to a multitude of instruments all playing at once, or if I loaded another song, and then returned back to the one I was working on. It’s kinda weird but it doesn’t hinder my ability to use the studio.

One question. I just downloaded this app because I have an endless pile of songs that I wrote over the years and have been recording my vocals on Voice Recording forever. But I thought it was finally time that I professionalize my music. I don’t have any instrumental talent as far as creating a beat that matches my song unless I create a beat on my guitar, but not all of my songs pair up with guitar sounds. So my question is will I have to design the background music or will it pick up on the tune of my singing. As long as it creates a beat for me, I can customize it just fine, but there’s no way I could create instrumentals and sounds on my own.

This dev wants you to think you need to pay.. Don’t buy anything. They say they have the best free offering on the App Store when there’s apps like audio kit synth one. How can you think yo I have the best free offering lol. Have you (the dev) even used these other apps? Why would you think you need to charge for the ability to loop? Ridiculous lol. I like the app too, I used it and tried the free 7 days, and all that did was reinforce how crazy it is to charge for the things they charge for. Instruments is one thing, simple features like looping is another. If you spend money on this app then that’s unfortunate as you could’ve just bought something actually worth the money like iMaschine or FL Studio if you really want quality. If you want free, audio kit synth one. Dev, you don’t need money the way you say you do, you WANT money. This app could’ve been developed by a high schooler in his free time with all the features for free.

Medly Membership. I really like the app a lot but its extremely annoying how i can only access 1% of all of the instruments. I dont want to have to pay for them. I shouldn’t have to pay money just to make a good song. And its even more annoying that I would have to pay 5 dollars every single month or 40 dollars a year to keep the good instruments. There are so many instruments that I want to use for a song I am probably going to make but I can’t because of the dumb membership. Please make the app better by getting rid of Medly membership so everyone can use all of the instruments.

Make Some Improvements. I think the app is great. There is a large variety of instruments, and there are a lot of options to easily assist with creating a song, such as adjusting the tempo and key. However, I think the app would be better if you add the option to change time signatures. Also, there are only three octaves when you add notes, so I think it would be better if you added some more to increase the pitch range. Lastly, I think it would be pretty cool if you allow users to tie/connect notes into other measures, and add an undo option for mistakes. Overall, I think the app has some really nice features but could definitely use some improvements to make it even better.

After Huge 4.0 Medly Update. After the huge 4.0 Medly update, there have been a lot bugs and annoying crashes. Like every time I use a vocal loop from the Jungle pack, Medly always crashes on me and its really annoying me. So, lets just hope that you fix all of these bugs and crashes. And maybe adding more vocals to the app in later updates would make me happier. I mean, the bugs and crashes are all I really hate about this app but in my opinion, its still one of THE easiest and best music developers out there. Keep the hard work and you’ll gain great potential in this app👍🏼👍🏼

Good but a tiny problem. Medly, you have made these months become so entertaining! I’ve seen my old songs and my new ones, and my skill has changed a lot, But, when i am writing this review right now, i’ve noticed that my songs have changed pitches, and it just kinda bothers me out, i switched to another key on my song, and it is kinda normal, but i just don’t really feel like it’s fine. But if half-fractions could be added in app store, I’m definitely putting it on 4.5 star, but for now, I will put 4 star, So if you can fix that, i’d be happy to know!

Good. This app is easy to use, clean, gets constant updates. Very cool. The only thing i think is kinda sucky is the membership. I mean, I get it, but some people don’t want to buy a year to get the $3 a month. I think the membership plan needs to be rethought a little bit if you want a broader audience. To me, this app is great for people who are really into music and are making it all the time. This isn’t really an app for people who like to fiddle around or only would use the app seriously once or twice a month. The membership would just be a waste of money at that point. However, changing the membership might not be as profitable so, I can see why it is the way it is.

Favorite music making app but there are problems. I make music as a hobby and I was looking for a better software to use than the one I was using, and I found Medly. I checked it out and instantly fell in love, but there are still problems with this app. The bar count only goes up to 1, 2, and 4 not any higher and you can’t select 3 either making it that in some songs the last not may be too long but you can’t do anything to fix it, and maybe you can’t cut the parts in half because you would cut notes that go onto bar 1 and 2 or 3 and 4, either way I still love the app, but I might have to get a different one because this could ruin a song.

Worth raving about. The hands down BEST music creation app I’ve ever had to date. Amazed is what I am. It is free without ads and provides you with a basic sound package to get to know the software, which is beyond user friendly, although it does take a second to get to know. Loads of sounds are available for purchase through a subscription which is ~$32/year or $6 a month if paid at a time. The sounds they give you for free are not bad at all, but the software is so good these developers are sure to receive my $32/year for a great app that I open up on my phone every day! Thank you :) Cheers!

The best!. This app is awesome. I love all the options, and I have Medly member. There is a lot of things I would like to be added, though. The ability to create your own instrument would be cool. You could record your voice and use it like a vox instrument, or record sound effects and put it in a drum set. Also, I know that there is a tutorial, but that only shows you how to use everything. The demos are great, so maybe make some tutorials on how to make good music? This is still an amazing app, but there is lots of things to improve. If anyone sees this, this app is great and is updated frequently. If you like music, download this app.

Solution!. Edit: I just want to say, I’ve found a way around the synthesizer problem. If you want to know, I just take two different videos of the same song: One of all the instruments except the synthesizer, and one with only the synthesizer. I then put them together in iMovie, and just raise the volume of the synthesizer video (audio works too). Now that I found a solution, I’ll admit that I never stopped using this app, and I never want to. Even though I thought I’d never get past this problem, I made new songs and realized I still treasure this app a lot. So, I’m still using Medly, and found a way to make it work. ❤️

very good app 👍 one suggestion?. i really like medley! i use it for making lil' video game remixes, and i'm getting member soon i'm also very new to medley, and am wondering if there is a way to change the time signature on your songs? right now all the songs that i've made are in common time (4/4), but i want to recreate some songs that are in 3/4, 6/8, 6/4, etc. i am VERY new to this app, and i'm pretty sure i have it all figured out, so if i'm wrong about there not being a way to change the time signature, please let me know! if i'm not wrong about this... is there any chance of figuring out a way to integrate this kind of feature?

Amazing... But one request.. Hi Medly, to begin I'd like to say how much of an awesome app this is. It has allowed me to create some awesome songs and melodies! On top of this the Medly subscription allows for even more hours of fun. However, with this said I have one suggestion. It would be super fun if you could add a way to share some of your tunes with the Medly community inside the app. I know you can export your songs, but I feel as though it would reach more people if it would be easier to do. This would both give inspiration to people who view your songs as well as a way to share your talent with others. Please consider. Thank you for reading!

Suggestions. Hi! I made many suggestions for countless reviews before, but I saw one that stood out to me, that it’s the guitars in the rock pack, no offense but most of the guitars in that pack don’t sound to good, and I think we can all agree some heavy metal guitars are needed and not for loops, but for actual instruments in a pack, and that would be immensely helpful, thank you, as well you should also add more customization wen it comes to sound like for more EQs, more ways to edit a certain sounds like for example an attack, release, etc. and as well as some flangers and such, and this would take a level up, so I hope you consider this, thank you!!

Simple but Diverse. Just one thing.... I’ve been using Medly to make music for about 2 years now. I absolutely love this app and it’s one of my favorites to make songs with. I am part of the membership and just love messing around with the new Halloween instruments. I just have one request though. There are often times when I want to go an octave higher than the app allows me. I have tried using the pitch adjuster to get that note but more often than not it just doesn’t sound right. So I think it would be a cool addition to this already amazing app if it could go an octave higher and lower.

Best Music Making app EVER. I have tried quite a few apps but this one surpasses them all. It’s set up to be very user friendly and easy to navigate but also pleasing to the eye. I’ve bought the entire $40 a year set because the amount of sounds is crazy! They have very unique sounds and tons to choose from. Not only that but they come out with a new pack every month. I haven’t committed to music making in full but I do like to play around and make my own stuff. I’ve actually already made 4 songs and am currently working on 4 more. It’s very easy to record vocally on the phone too. I have nothing bad to say about this app! It’s my FAVORITE

Starting to get frustrated. Ok, so Medly is my go to app when it comes to music, but here is why it doesn’t get the full five stars. I waited a long time after melodic dubstep came out to get lantern. I wasn’t crazy about that pack so when it said on the App Store “we aren’t taking a break, we’re just working on something big” for a sound pack, I was so excited. They said it would come out in June so the clock IS ticking. Besides, the member exclusive pack promises a new pack about every month which is down right a lie. So there are a few things that are frustrating me right now but overall I still do enjoy medly

Many things!. First off, the email for support. They reply usually within 1 minute-30 minutes. This is awesome because if you need help, they’re right there and are able to assist quickly. Also, the possibilities of making music are pretty much endless. It can be slightly hard because of rhythms, but after a while, you will get the hang of it. But, I will be dropping it a star because the only type of music that is free is the starter. It’s handy for a while, until all of the sounds sound so boring. There are other packs, but they cost 3 dollars each, and 10 dollars for larger packs (multiple smaller ones inside). I know the apps need to make money, but it shouldn’t be 3 dollars for a pack of classic instruments. Other than that, great app and staff helping with the app! =)

Great except....... 100% unintuitive. Many of the features have to be “discovered”, if you know what I mean. But once you explore for a few hours it’s really fun!!! I suggest starting by trying to compose “Americano”, then maybe part of “The Greatest Show” or “Rewrite the Stars”. Then once you have the hang of it, compose your own songs. Other than lack of intuitiveness, it’s a really great app for making great music!!! Update: I am currently working on three TGS songs. I still love this app and I love it more and more every time I play!! I don’t know why people complain about the music being too quiet, cause I had to turn DOWN my music because it was blasting my ears off on low volume!!! I also have no complaints about the subscription (Since some people use this app professionally) because I wouldn’t have been able to make any in app purchases(disabled). I legit don’t know why people complain. The only con is that it’s not exactly intuitive. But they do have a handbook in the settings. See the gear when viewing sections, tap it, and at the very top there’s a book icon. That’s where more detailed information is located. Oh dang this got long fast....

Lies. I was advertised a “free” app but in reality it’s just a lie a scam there’s only like 5 free instruments at that point just make the app cost money. Don’t get me wrong I’m not hating on the developers, I get that an app like this need a lot of money to upkeep but I’m just saying don’t lie to people either add more free instruments or advertise the app as costing money. But over all it’s a great app that’s why I’m putting 4 stars instead of 1 it’s just I don’t like that I saw it was free and it was exactly what I was looking for and just to find out you can’t even use most of the common instruments that I needed to use for my purpose. So all in all either advertise the app as costing money or add more free instruments.

An amazing app. Taking in the fact that this is an app on mobile makes this an amazing app to use when producing music. Not only does this app allow creators to construct their own melodies with a very large variety of instruments and music clips, it also allows music producers to add their own clips through the Import option in-app. On top of this all, the additional collections that creators can purchase add so much more life and creativity into soundtracks and the purchases are very worth the price. Overall, this app is a very good one and would recommend it to anyone who wishes to pursue music production with only a phone.

The app is pretty good. Medly is ok... I like the music a lot but whenever I try to make a song it always glitches... But I still like it. Because my mom was able to buy me Medly member it was ok! Not a bad app after all! It is still really cool and fun and the new pack Dream Hop? So relaxing...! Hehe 🙃The app is pretty interesting and now I am getting better at making songs! Thank you for making this cool app! I got confused and mad at first.. then I learned all about it in the handbook! I love this app so much that I might be able to make real songs in this app! Thank you for making this really cool app! Really interesting and fun! I uninstalled cause of the glitch 😅 But I’ll install again because it really is a really cool app

Great MIDI Sequencer. This is EXACTLY the kind of app I was looking for, and I’m thrilled I found it. Medly has all the power that your note roll in your favorite DAW does, but with none of the extra visual noise - the interface is gorgeously simple. It even undersells itself at first; the demos make little use of the automation feature, which allows you to dynamically modify effects like volume, pitch, and reverb on a note by note basis. I’ll include my personal grievances below, but I refuse to give this great app less than five stars. The developers clearly care about creating a quality product. - The only drums in the default instrument pack are basically non-viable. Too high pitched and tinny for a good drum sound. I would honestly prefer synthesized drums from some old console chip. Luckily it sounds like there are better drums in the instrument packs. - No support for VST instruments. I haven’t purchased the ability to do imports yet, but based on the listed supported file types, this is a no-go. Understandable, but creating a proper full instrument from recordings alone is a complete nightmare. It would be a massive boon to have some kind of digital synthesizer support. - No undo button?!

Amazing app, a few suggestions.. Medly is an amazing app that I have been using for a while now. I love the direct export to soundcloud and other places and the simple and easy way to make music. I have a few suggestions though. One is a community. You could upload your albums/songs to a community area so other people can see your Medly music. People could like and comment on music they like. Another suggestion is some kind of point system. This could be based off likes on your song in the community. Basically, a certain amount of points can buy other instruments while others will stay member only to give you a reason to get a membership. Thank you for reading my suggestions, and I hope you take them into consideration in the next update.

Good interface, one annoying bug. I just got medley, and I was able to make a decent song pretty quickly. There’s one really annoying thing, though. I tried to make a new album. I changed the name and then wanted the change the artwork, though the presets looked really nice. I had my own custom album art saved in my photos, and I had let it access those same photos, but it wouldn’t let me change the artwork to anything besides the presets. I even tried restarting my iPad and it still didn’t work. If this is something where you have to get a membership to change the artwork, that really should’ve been made clear.

Fun. So, all of my reviews keep escaping from the queue, so I will make another one. This is happening because I rate after I post the reviews. Hello! It’s me again! This is my #1 favorite app. Better than Auxy, better than Magix, better than GarageBand, and better than everything else. Welcome to Medly 6. (insert everything I said in the previous reviews here) Okay bye Edit: Actually, there is a bug. It happens when I tell the listener “thanks for listening” and all that stuff. The audio is delayed 2 bars, and I hope you fix it in version 6.2 Thank you

This app is wonderful but I have a suggestion…. I have a suggestion that would take a while to develop, but would pay off in the end. You should make a system where people could make their own instruments by recording a sound and then it matches the sound up with the notes and makes a full scale user instrument. (Member exclusive) With this tool, you guys could also feature user generated sounds, only usable by members. That way your team could stop worrying about getting instruments out and just feature user generated instruments. You guys could focus even more on the UI and core elements of medly to make it even more AMAZING!

Good synths, very cheap workstation. This app has great synths! I love the variety of sounds provided. However, there is also a massive pool of “mix and match” chords available. It takes away from the creativity aspect of making electronically based music! You can practically pitch an entire track from what’s just provided! It’s not really a music “maker”. Its a decent DAW, but with absolutely horrible controlling. It’s so hard to create melodies! The solution to said problem seems to be by publishing pre-made chords for users to add to “their” tracks. On top of that, applicable effects to the synths provided are very minimal, and you cannot bear a preview of the synth you’re going to add to the track! It’s so time consuming to insert every individual sample. It would seriously make things more user friendly by providing a playback feature.

Phenomenal App!. I’ve been using Medly for almost a 2 years now. I downloaded it with no musical talent at all just for fun, and it quickly became one of my favorite apps ever. I’ve learned so much from it, and listening to the pre-made songs with each different genre. The work you do with such a small team is absolutely phenomenal. I became a Member pretty much as soon as the option came out. I love all the sounds and options you have available. Every bug I’ve come across has been fixed within a very short amount of time. I’m so thankful for what y’all have done, and I’m excited to see what the future holds! Thank you!
