No matter what I do, including uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, I can't get this app to launch in Windows 10. >:/
I would call the pro version a necessity over the regular version for the zero-lag stroke prediction (it’s great). I use this app for making YouTube videos, and it has served me extremely well using the 12.9” iPad Pro. Definitely would recommend.
For anyone who travels with an iPad and PC and is used to using a 2nd monitor when at home or in the office, this is a must-have. Easy installation on both devices....simply connect the iPad via usb to the PC, open the app on the iPad and you have a second display in seconds. Can use typical display controls on PC as if you truly have a 2nd monitor connected so nothing different there to learn/manipulate.
Really useful the app. It would be much better if was wireless
Couldn’t hardly get the app to work, totally unusable for Apple Pencil as frame rate is such a joke, reached out to Duet several weeks ago, no response. Wait for Apples version, will be FREE in macOS Catalina. Don’t waste your money!!!
Hi, I have been trying to use Duet with my PC Windows machine and my ipad Pro. It is not working properly, making it impossible to do any work. I tried to use Sketchbook Pro and the cursor is either offset, or too much lag. I tried another software (that I don't use) Microsoft Paint and it works OK. But it's not for my work flow. I spent hours, trying to look for online solution, but nothing. I tried Astropad with my older macbook pro 2013, and it works fine.
Don’t get it, didn’t have a good time with this app, it just caused stress because I thought I was doing something wrong. Worst app ever!
It worked until the latest OS was installed. Before, it would often disconnect, but now it does nothing.
I have a 15” inch MacBook Pro that I wanted to connect to an iPad Pro. Initially, the two paired well, but I couldn’t move the mouse across either screen. The whole operation froze and I had to spend an hour waiting for it to unfreeze as both devices began to heat up and my Mac’s fans were nearly as loud as an F16’s. I tried reaching out to customer support and I didn’t hear anything back. I gave asking for help and simply wanted a refund, but again, no response. I don’t believe I could have done anything wrong; the app just didn’t work for me. Read other reviews, other people have faced this same issue! I guarantee that the company knows and receives these complaints but they just ignore them! There has to be a bug in this version, or the company needs to make a disclaimer regarding the efficacy of its product with specific computers/tablets. I truly feel ripped off. I have never regretted a purchase more in my life. I have wasted hours trying to figure out how to work this app. The customer support is nonexistent, and what’s more, the app burns through battery like nothing else (even when frozen)! DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY
I use Duet for nearly half of my work as I travel often, and don’t want to carry my laptop, iPad, and a 2nd monitor. It does exactly what I need it to do, and the few times I’ve contact support, it has been quick, friendly, and effective. I recommend Duet Display to everyone I work with.
This app been used only for a few times and I always installed up to the latest version and updates, however the performance and latency is not as I expected and I am truly annoyed when I know that the app cannot be refunded.
Was working perfectly until i updated to the newest IOS Mojave. Updated to the latest Citrix... wasted my time.
This has been a huge value add! I am a public speaker and now able to illustrate using my iPads pencils and project with both my Mac and IPad - simple beautiful. If I could buy shares in this business I would! - can I ?
This makes my iPad Pro a fantastic quality second screen for my MacBook Pro. Saved me buying a second monitor. Totally recommended - it’s by far the best app of its kind.
With the latest NVIDIA drivers, duet causes a lot of problems if you have other types of displays installed. I often found my main display failing with duet. I have to install and uninstall the duet service on the PC every time I want to use it. Because it does not work concurrently with my current graphics card. I have an RTX2070. Might be due to having two graphics cards on the laptop. But my VR headset stops working with this. Quite sad because I love being able to have a second display on the go
Good iOS integration and bug free.
Couple of minor issues with the app here and there, but support is quick and efficient at sorting them out. Great as a second screen for Final Cut editing.
Changed my rating from 1 to 5 for Windows 10 (1903). Duet Display for PC build 1-6-0-6, it now all just works! Good job:) Tested on Surface Laptop 2 and DELL Precision 5530.
If it wasn’t for duet I would be failing university
The app was performing great until the desktop client began crashing my laptop. The support rep that I talked to was one of the most friendly people I’ve talked to in tech support and was able to provide me a solution in a timely manner for the problem. Duet Display as an app is very smooth and is the best app of its kind.
If you download the app, there is an in-app purchase option called Duet Air and Duet Pro. These 2 cost money and in the description, it said “Monthly updates and upgrades”. So if you paid one-time for the app, you have to wait for a long time for updates to come in.
This is great application for photographers you can use iPad as a second display and make your work more productive. thank you so much for this application.
Love this app. Worth the price; I use it all of the time. It’s seamless: plug in the iPad, open the app.
Purchased the basic version a few months back. Brand new iPad with a couple years old Mac. Duet is extremely finicky. Works about 50% of the time for me. You have to make sure you don’t download any external plugins because it doesn’t play well with other applications. Oh and if you want to get help, you can’t. So don’t bother, just skip this external monitor application and look for another
Screen color on ipad is poor, it looks like an old one, even with Ipad pro. It freezers and so on. Have a second thought before u buy it.
The free trial was flawless, but as soon as my payment went through, all Pro features were disabled. I contacted their tech support team, who told me to uninstall/reinstall, which I ultimately did several times. Victor then told me it was a billing issue and to contact Apple. When I sent Victor a screenshot of my paid, year-long subscription, I didn’t get any response. After many uninstall/reinstalls, I was able to restore my purchase, only to have the Windows app crash repeatedly, or cause a black screen timeout on the ipad. On the rare occasions that the connection is successful, the Apple Pen often gets disconnected, requiring me to unplug the cord and start the whole maddening process from the beginning. If the connection is successful, the pressure settings glitch out in Illustrator, which is the whole reason I wanted this app. I’ve spent many hours troubleshooting this, and I’m beyond frustrated. Requested a refund. Basic ‘second monitor’ features seem fine, which is the only reason for the 2-star rating. Pro version would get less than 1 star if I could.
Easy UI, and the experience has been world class. My only troubles have been a bit of lag, but after a few minutes it’s no longer an issue. I’d give 5 stars if I could display to multiple iPads.
According to Lestat
very poor optimization, it is very slow, it is not suitable for active use in graphic editors. fit for web surfing only and static tasks
No longer functions reliably. Simply cannot get it to work. Have tried restarting, to no avail. Regret paying for the full year of Pro :(
Waste of money. I am running this ona a new mac book pro and an ipad pro. it stops working and no longer reconnises the mac when plugged in. You are just as well off burning you money than buying this.
Pro subscription promises to work as a digital tablet but in reality image jitters and glitches so much it is impossible to do the simplest pen tool adjustments on the latest iPad Pro. At least there’s a trial available but it’s behind a ten euro app.
I was one of the people who got ripped in by the fancy marketing to buy an iPad but in reality I rarely used it. With duet I have been able to remove a cluttersome second screen from my desk, and in turn its helped me fall in love with my iPad again!
A little bit laggy but works really well
So easy to use and set up. Wish I bought it ages. Ago!
This app is perfect. It’s only missing one thing for me.If you could please do an update so that the video window in the reaper 64 DAW can successfully be dragged over to my iPad without causing my laptop to shut down and restart. Thanks a mill
Not sure what I might be doing, or not doing, but this doesn’t work. It sort of half sees the iPad and Mac connected, but fails to launch the app fully.
After I installed the software on my Razer Blade laptop with Windows 10, it wouldn’t boot into Windows and wouldn’t restore properly. I literally had to run safe-mode, hack through the reg to enable the Install manager service, and uninstall Duet on Windows to boot normally back in. To make sure it was Duet causing the problem, I installed it again. Same thing. As with other people, there’s clearly a driver problem. Maybe to do with dedicated and discreet graphics cards, but maybe not. Clearly the thing has potential and I bought it despite the bug reports assuming they’d have fixed them up by now, but I was wrong.
I really hate to leave negative feedback but after paying and spending far too much time setting it up and trying to get it working I am giving up and going with their competitor.
I bought this app because I used to use iDisplay app before but it doesn't work anymore... So I decided to invest few bucks into Duet and it doesn't work either. Connecting my 12.9" iPad Pro to my 27" iMac to extend the screen and it just doesn't work. What's going on?
