Update Needed. The interface is a little old (so are the videos) and somewhat confusing. 1) It would be way easier to have all lessons listed for a given category with tabs that open right there to show individual videos within each lesson. 2) There’s no kind of marker to see what videos you’ve completed or where you left off. 3) Every time you go full screen in a video, you’re forced to exit full screen just to hit next again and re-enter full screen. No auto play feature or “next” button there on screen. 4) Why do you need a “begin” page right after you click a lesson. It just feels like I’m going down level after level and it’s so complicated for no reason.

Don’t Believe Negative Reviews. Guitar Tricks, their organized approach, small bite lessons (typically 5-minutes), and tracking system is phenomenal. Better than anything else out there. I can’t understand the few reviews that are at all negative (most are very favorable). I think some people just like to criticize because it makes them feel in control, powerful, and good despite their miserable lives. If they could do better, then why don’t they? Hard to do better than Guitar Tricks, in my view. Guitar Tricks is outstanding and I highly recommend.

Great content but poor app. It’s a shame this app with excellent content is almost unusable. The app’s buttons (back button etc) when in a lesson frequently become unresponsive . The video control buttons disappear randomly. And there is no way to play the videos in landscape mode, which is basic stuff! I am using iPhone 6 with latest iOS. All in all the app quality does grave injustice to the awesome content. At the minimum, the unresponsive buttons, disappearing video controls (pause, forward/rewind, no skip back 10 seconds!) and lack of landscape mode video must be fixed on priority. Eventually the app must rewritten by some quality/experienced app developers and experts in mobile app user interface/experience . The great content in the app deserves better software for presenting it! Had it not been for the awesome content, I would have given it 1 star.

Perfect ten. I have been trying to learn the guitar for 15 years now. I am on my first month of playing and I already know four songs I have learned more in one month than I learned the entire 15 years of playing. I highly recommend this program if you were to pay someone to give you lessons, they would charge you $30 for an hour, then that’s only for one hour. This you get unlimited everything for 20 bucks they don’t move too fast and you can slow down the speed of the lecture. I figured out how to print off the tabs so I can practice it even when I’m not online I have so much practicing to do before. I can move forward with the next lesson because that’s how much we have covered in about three weeks I can’t keep up with these guys and I don’t have to go. Let me go at my own pace. I am confident that I will be playing the guitar in no time thank you guitar tricks.

Other instruments?. Hi I just got the app and most of the videos are acoustic and electric, I have an electric guitar but I mainly focus on my ukulele, do you guys have any videos on that, I wanted to pay for the subscription but there’s no point if I can’t learn the instrument I want, also whenever I choose a song to learn on the electric they all say “upgrade for full access” are there any free lessons or a sorting button for free? I just want to see how the instructors teach on the app to see if I like it, other than that it’s a pretty good app.

I’m a beginner. There is no doubt the content I encountered so far and the teachers are great. I enjoy the lessons and practices and try to use the app on the iPad everyday. I even dropped fender play because guitar tricks is so much better. But, the user interface and experience on iPad is lacking. 1. It’s really important for me to keep track of where I was and my progress as well as history of usage. While this is available on desktop and web, it’s not on mobile. The need to keep going back and forth from app to website to look at progress and history so I can jump back to a section or continue where I was is the reason I only gave 3 stars. I prefer to use the iPad for everything and I’m sure the future is in mobile, so please make the UX friendlier and easier.

Love the app, but a few problems. I am just learning to play and it is truly painful to get through the beginner courses. The lady is probably so nice, but I don’t want to learn guitar (especially power chords) from a Rosey cheeked lady who can’t sing. It was so hard to motivate myself past those courses. Also the phone app is not great to look at the notations etc, it seems to be more suited for a desktop use. All in all it is a great app with lots of great lessons and ability to pick and choose what I want to learn. Would recommend, but please fix the phone app difficulties and reinvest in new beginner lessons.

Amazing learning system but poor app. I am loving this program for learning guitar however I am frustrated with the app and so I wanted to provide some feedback. I am having a hard time with the navigation. When I finish a series I don’t know how to get to the next one. Also if i close the app and return I can’t figure out where I left off. I see the history but it isn’t linked back to lessons so it is not very useful. There is also no way to save favorite lessons like I can on my computer. If these abilities mentioned above are present they are hard to find or understand. There are also some really great features in the app as far as how the screen is split so you can see the words, music, and teacher. Thanks for a great learning program and I look forward to an improved app as I intend to continue with this program for a while.

Great way to learn. I have been playing for 35 years and I do alright but I wanted to go back to the basics and really learn some things. I love the simple steps they take and break down the lessons. This has really been great for me. I’ve learned a lot so far, there is also a lot of content so I won’t get bored I can jump around a bit and do different things. I would recommend to anyone at any level. Great app!. Thanks Guitar Tricks

Excellent Site. I’ve had Guitar Tricks for about three years and it has really improved my skills and song learning. I’ve tried a few others but I believe that the song library and versatility along with the top notch instructors make this the best. If you want to approach learning songs the right way, this is the app for you. I record on a multitrack so learning all guitar parts are crucial and this does it. Also it teaches all types of skills and techniques which I really need. I usually use it at home on my desktop but when away from home this keeps me practicing. Guitar Tricks is constantly adding new material, instructors, and songs. This is a 5 star all the way.

So far enjoying it. For a total beginner like me, it was kinda difficult to find the perfect guitar lessons that fit my needs. I have tried other apps good for structure and practice, but they lack the theory I needed to complement my knowledge, so I could get to know what I was actually doing with my guitar. To play notes and chords just to play them makes no sense to any guitar player who wants to become guitar savvy in the long run. But then I found a Guitar Tricks, I was doubtful at first and reluctantly paid for the first month of subscription, just to get a taste of it, and the combination of both theory and practice have worked out just fine for me. This app is very resourceful and helpful to get your started. It’s been week one so far and I’m enjoying the way the instructors handle the levels of teaching and difficulty. They don’t rush you out to get to do anything you are not comfortable with. Week one and I have learnt a few simple chords and rhythms, and also the importance of taking good care of my gear. So far, I can say that lessons with Ms. McCormick have kept me in touch and motivated to learn to play and love this instrument. Most likely I’m looking forward to renew for another month to keep falling in love with it, and who knows, maybe a year. Keep up the good work, guys. Totally worth it.

Don’t look anywhere else.... IMO this is the best online guitar instruction site out there. There are a lot of great guitar instruction sites, but I haven’t found one with more content. The App is easy to navigate and I use it daily. The App doesn’t have everything that is offered on their site, so, if you’re looking for something and are unable to find it, go to the web site. Enjoy and Good Luck!

Very good but still needs improvements. Great app with lessons on techniques for beginners to advanced. They really need to work on their song library. A band like Green Day is not even in their library. Popular bands like Led Zeppelin is in there, but not even their top hits, 2 lesser known songs, really? GunsnRoses there is no Sweet Child of Mine or Welcome to the Jungle, you just get Knocking on Heavens Door. GuitarTricks needs to at least make videos on bands’ top 5 songs. Instead they have like the 20th most popular song. They do a decent job with AC/DC.

Absolutely the best for beginners.. I learned guitar from scratch on this app. The lessons are great and I advanced quickly. As I progressed I wanted to learn more songs. That is when I turned to other options. It’s not that the lessons aren’t great but I’m one guy with an acoustic. I don’t need to know three plugged in guitar parts. If I were in a band that would be great however. My only suggestion is to gear more of your song lessons to people like myself.

Site nav tool. There are several things I would like to see added. Quick links to songs preview of the entire song in the beginning of the actual class give us a video tour explaining how to track progress navigate the sight. Kind of frustrating when you’re just trying it out before buying. By the time I learn the site and where I place in it and getting acclimated. I know that you guys deserve 5stars but I can’t really navigate the site that’s where the other 2stars are at😊

Spend the money it’s worth it. Listen if your like me, which is , I need to know how things work Before I do anything, then this is for you, yes you could jump into songs and they have easy modes on that, BUT they’ll say things like sus4 , Barr , power chords.. etc I need to know what that is completely to understand what I’m doing, their beginner stages goes into that in detail, does it take a while .. yes .. is it sometimes boring .. yes. But you’ll understand why they go into detail later on.. and it’s def worth it..I don’t like to rush into the next lesson.. I need to have the chords sounding almost perfect before I go on..oh and tons of songs to learn.. love this app

Senior, rank beginner.. This app may not suit the needs of everyone- but for this senior total beginner it is just the thing. Been taking and repeating beginner lessons virtually daily since Christmas ‘17 (one month) and making progress. Love the ability to repeat lessons over and over. Initial teacher, Lisa McCormack, is clear, patient, full of great tips, instills optimism . . . And makes learning fun. I got a one year subscription from wife, for Christmas. Could hardly be more pleased. . . Except for sore fingers - not the fault of Guitar Tricks! . . . Which rocks! -B .Wade Houston

I am learning to play the guitar!. I am learning to play the guitar. This app/program seems to be very good. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks and thus far I am impressed and happy. I like that the lessons are broken up into manageable segments and the instruction is very thorough. The benefit of this program is that it’s easy to pick back up when you want. When ever your practice may be it’s easy to jump in.

Don’t hesitate. I’m 47 and have been playing off and on since jr. high. GuitarTricks is the most helpful thing I have ever found to advance me as a player. The lessons are in depth and amazing! Every thing is broken down and taught extremely effectively. You can even loop a portion of a lesson until you got it down. Having the jam tracks to all the great songs on the site is awesome! No more do I learn bits and pieces of songs I go through each lesson within a song and then jam to the backing track. The backing tracks are fantastic quality. Kudos GuitarTricks! And thank you, you have me more excited to pick up my guitar than ever! I also go through the lessons when I’m not near my guitar they are so good

Glitch on subscription. Im furious when I downloaded the app within 15 minutes I subscribed to the monthly option after a week out of no where it wouldn’t let me access the lesson I was on and it said upgrade membership I go to my account I click restore purchase and nothing changes I try to re subscribe even tho I had already paid once and it wouldn’t allow me Because it stated I already had a membership I deleted the app reinstalled restored my purchases and still the same issue persist I don’t understand how this could even be an issue I’ve never in all my Years of downloading apps and becoming a member to them have had this issue

I love this app!. I am a beginner- I learned more in a week of using Guitar Tricks than I did in two weeks of apps that listen to you play. The instructions are excellent- well presented and easy to understand. My 12 year old and I are learning together- me on a nylon string acoustic and him on an electric and the lessons are well suited to both of us. The only thing that keeps me from putting a 5 is that the app could use options for some of the things available on the full website such as the tools and being able to mark lessons as complete. It would also be a great feature if the music sheets would scroll down with the songs as they are played - songs that are copyrighted can’t be printed which means it is impossible to play along without memorizing the song.

Impressed. Learning guitar has been one big goal of mine since I was a kid. I went through atleast 3 phases of trying to learn and it never worked out. I’d learn some riffs and that’s about it. In person lessons always felt very pressured to master something in about a weeks span. I finally decided to give it another try but the right way. In my first week of guitar tricks I’ve learned more than I ever have, and I feel like I’m learning it in the right steps. Overall impressed with the quality and price of this

Guitar tricks is a tremendous boost for me.. I had just been essentially doing warm up exercises and dabbling with various guitar apps. It was not until I started with GuitarTricks I expanded my playing by an order of magnitude. I was basically just trying to exercise my fingers and toughen up my finger tips on my fretting hand. I didn’t not want to pickup any bad habits. It was not until this I began picking cords and building a base. The more I am learning the more I am wanting to play. I feel by the time I finish the beginner courses I will have a solid foundation. From there I can pick up other guitar tabs and other theories.

Structure. When I was in my twenties, I taught 10+ people how to fly a helicopter, from zero experience to a private, commercial, instrument, instructor, etc. rating, using a structured program. Works almost every time. When I tried taking guitar lessons (3 different instructors) in my advanced years, the instructors had no plan, no structure, no stated goals. I spent a good portion of each lesson watching them display their talents. Then another third of the lesson sitting and watching them decide what they wanted me to practice for the next lesson. It just didn’t work for my mindset. I’m sold on this program. I think they are doing it the right way.

Long Time User. Some instructors talk way too much, especially with the advanced Learn How to Play songs. When teaching a phrase, why not play the notes as a slow musical phrase instead of singularly reciting the position or name if each note out of the phrase context? It’s really frustrating. I don’t think advanced players need as much hand holding. Also why can’t I search for a single song (mobile app) without scrolling through the lists? On the bright side, I’ve learned many more difficult songs with you guys than I ever did ruining my old records! Just wish you could get those private lesson costs down for long time users. Keep up the good work, I’m still a paying customer!

Good learning and practice tool. The app is great for easy access to good content. I like the instructors level of detail and pace for each level. The app gets ongoing improvements which is good. I use it almost every day and they keep adding content which is key. Update : Nov 2018 > still using Guitar Tricks daily and am starting to use courses for different styles which GT provides. I've see no other online sites that have the level of video training for beginners through to advanced. Lastly GT's content covers many genres. Always best quality for each and every lesson.

Enjoying this App so Much. This is my 2nd go around trying to learn guitar. My 1st was in-person lessons 15 years ago and I was just not mature enough for them to sink in. Fast forward to present day and being stuck at home during a pandemic, I decided to give guitar another shot. This app was well reviewed so it was the first I tried. I love it! The lessons are structured in a way that let you learn at the most basic level but feel accomplished if you actually do the practice between lessons. I can’t recommend this highly enough. I feel like I might actually be able to play when I’m done here. The song selection from real artists is fantastic as well, they’ve included a huge library! You should definitely go through the trial period. The app will speak for itself from there. Once the trial is over, it’s reasonably priced and well worth the money.

Guitar. After retiring, I started learning guitar with GuitarTricks. After close to a year, I am now starting fundamentals 2, and feel confident I can play many songs out of various song books. Maybe my rhythm and strumming isn’t perfect, but people can follow along and sing! I am going to continue with this program, excited that fundamentals 2 will expand the entire fretboard. Thank you, I recommend this app.

4 years now.... I joined Guitar Tricks as a beginner and now 4 years later I’m feeling really good about the progress I’ve made. I haven’t missed more than 3 days of practice since I started. I admit to being a poor student and I could be much better if I were smarter. I am 57 and have put more time into soloing than learning chords. My plan is to have FUN and not join a band or get too serious. Thanks to the instructors and folks that put the site up. Other than Steve Stine I wouldn’t consider another site or teacher. Good luck!

Edit out fluff. I think the app is good from a learning perspective. I think there is opportunity to spend less time with reminding users at the beginning of every video that it is guitar tricks. I think the videos could be edited down to half the time so that students could spend more time playing and less time listening and waiting. Overall I think the instructors do a great job explaining and I save time by not having to drive to a lesson, plus I can take a lesson any time that is convenient for me.

Great tool for learning guitar or improving your chops.. I’ve been learning to play guitar for 35 years and so far this program for learning is the best thing for me. There are always new things to learn. From warm up exercises, to different styles, to teaching songs the way they were played on the record, writing songs, and solos. If I’ve ever had problems with the app, I’ve had help with them. No problems. It works for me.

This is the only one that worked for me. Ive tried to self teach my self electric guitar 4 times and i always put it down and get aggravated. Until i found guitar tricks that is. Ive been playing 21 days now and i am actually remembering the things they teach on there. So it feels way more natural to play and i actually feel like im making momentum and maintaining traction with this. Cant complain about a thing. Im able to fully learn and remember a chord in less than an hour. Its not clean but i dont forget them. Thats hasnt happened any other way that ive tried. Very happy!

Lessons are fine, App needs work.. No fast forward, rewind, or scrubbing through the jam tracks? There isn’t even a simple way to stop and start over from the beginning, you’re forced to listen to the entire track before you can start over? Super frustrating. Screen formatting on iPads seems a bit off in places. Things are cut off on the screen. Come on. Biggest problem. There really needs to be a way of bookmarking where one is in the countless core learning system and song lessons. It’s very easy to forget where you left off and looking in the history is not convenient nor entirely effective. Good new is that there is a ton of great content, bad news is that there doesn’t seem to be a way of organizing it in a way that is useful to the user in the way of favoriting lessons or bookmarking. I seem to be spending a silly amount of time trying to find things I want to easily return to. The low rating is because these seem like app fundamentals to me. Focus seems to be on the website (where all these functions exist), but the app, which I would prefer to use, lags substantially.

Good program, annoying membership cancellation. I watched a bunch of the videos and found the program to be very helpful but found it not to be worth the cost for me. What I found frustrating was first the free trial sign up. I like apps that allow a sign up through the apple store because cancellation is simple as subscriptions can all be found in one place. Guitar tricks doesn’t allow that. Maybe they have their reasons but when i eventually went to cancel on their website they made it difficult. When you go to cancel, you need to select 1 of 4 options of why you want to cancel but only one option actually leads you to cancellation. Then you still have to read the small print (not in the pull down menu) that says “there’s nothing you can do”. These steps to make a cancellation are a bad practice. Clearly if someone is truly cancelling they probably don’t care about your final opinion so they make it this difficult to try and keep you signed up.

From zero to infinity. I knew nothing about guitar a year and a half ago, but I always thought it would be something I would want to learn someday. So finally, after deciding that I spent too many winter evenings watching Netflix, I bit the bullet on a $200 guitar and bought the gt app. I Worked through all the lessons in fundamental 1 and 2 in 6-8 months. i have been playing songs ever since and learning more each day. Guitar tricks continues to offer song lessons at easy to advanced levels so I know that as I improve, I will never get bored. After a year I decided I liked playing so much I bought a $2,000 Taylor guitar which I love. I will tackle the advanced fundamentals when I decide on a direction. But meanwhile, I’m having too much fun learning songs. I get a little better every day.

Great Tool to learn guitar. I love the structure and everything about the learning process with Guitar Tricks but the only reason I don’t give this a five star rating is because I’ve had this app over a year and a half and they still haven’t fixed the bugs. Not all the time but often I’ll click on a lesson and it will bring up a different lesson than I clicked on or a lesson not even in the category I’m in. For example in the beginners tab in the practice tip section I’ll click on the left handed playing lesson and it will pop up a lesson from the Funk genre. If the developers see this please fix this. You will gain a five star rating if you do because right now the computer version is more reliable than the mobile app.

Love the update! One suggestion. I’ve been primarily using the website since it has been more feature rich than the app, but this update is wonderful! I didn’t care for the old layout much, but the new one is amazing. I’m sure you guys have thought about this, but one thing i’d recommend is incorporating auto-scroll into the app. Other than that, great!

What I am missing. First off: This is the Course/subscription you want, if you really want to learn ALL the aspects with regard to playing guitar. However, the song library is severely missing content. There is hardly any Metallica (really!), not much Guns N’Roses etc. Layla from Derek & the Dominoes etc. there are just a ton of iconic classics that you would have to google (and find questionable instructors) On the songs that are there, I would appreciate a visual explanation of the Amp setup instead of just rambling it off. Lastly, I have not found a way to get feedback from instructors. Maybe I am not looking in the right spots, but this would improve the subscription.

Solid, not great. The app has an issue on the phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) where if you touch the screen in fullscreen horizontal mode (widescreen), the app will return to vertical mode. I don't think this is the intended design, so maybe it’s a bug. Perhaps it is meant to be a swipe so you can quickly exit full screen, but it’s too sensitive if so. This is frustrating when trying to rewind because you must return to widescreen mode. Another issue is when doing a chord switch when trying to play along the chord switch is sometimes not notated until the new line of notation comes up, so it’s easy to mess up because you don't see it coming. You either need to memorize the chords/notes or bring the notation up, which is too small to read on a phone with the video also playing. You could also print off the notation, but this is a hassle for shorter videos. I have used primarily blues and classical lessons. The blues lessons are very well done, and the teacher makes me believe he knows what he is doing. The classical teacher is fine, but his play is either sloppy, the guitar is out of tune, or the recording quality isn't good. I can't figure out which it is. However, he teaches the notes and techniques well overall.

Great Learning Tool. Guitar Tricks is packed with beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons. Tons of tools, practice videos, info on gear and types of music and artists. The instructors are top notch!!! The app is easy to use, intuitive, has everything the website has in an easy to use package. I have not encountered any technical problems with the app. I like guitar tricks because they stay true to the songs they teach, the don't "dumb down" the songs, slow them down, or abbreviate them - they teach the authentic version of the song. They do offer some simplified versions, but label them as such.

Please fix full screen 🙏🏻. I love the app so far and the content is great, but every couple lessons the video options disappear and there’s no way to get them back. When I tap on the video, no options come up, and so I have no way to put it full screen. Unfortunately, all I have is a phone to access the website and watching on the tiny window that shows up is pretty difficult. Would be greatly appreciated if this could get fixed 🙏🏻

Learning song section can be very frustrating to use. Some instructors spend too much time talking about theory and other things mixed right in with the middle of the song instruction, irrelevant to actually learning the song, and then fly way to rapidly though the chords, progressions and riffs, making learning difficult and multiple rewinds and replays necessary. (Example; Behind Blue Eyes by Mark Olesky. ) There is no way to mark or loop song sub-sections, so it is hunt and guess tryin to find the section you want to repeat without wasting time listening to the irrelevant taking and or parts you already know again and again . The theory may be interesting , but should come in separate sections, NOT in the middle of trying to learn to play a part of the song. Songs should be broken down into smaller sections for learning , or have ability to mark and loop sub-sections so you can repeat as needed. On the plus side, transcriptions and techniques are generally good, except for songs with multiple guitars in the original . “Just play guitar 1” is a cop out. There are usually very good ways of combining multiple parts for solo.

Loving it!. I’ve never picked up a guitar before and have decided to learn. I love how this app breaks everything down for you! It’s helpful to have the visual along with the instruction. My favorite part is that they even break down how to strum. If you’ve never done it before, all of this stuff is unknown. So, to have someone there to teach you all of the techniques is extremely helpful! I’ve now mastered quite a few chords and I’ve also been able to play along with a couple of the songs that they teach! Thank you for the awesome instruction on so many levels!

WB student intermediate level. I have used GuitarTricks for about one year so far it’s reall a great help for learning at home. My biggest advice it to not get in a hurry to move to the next lesson practice until you feel certain that you have mastered the current lesson before moving on. If you hit a snag maybe go back a few lessons and work back to the point that you starred having a problem. Good luck work hard and long

Incredibly easy and successful. I am a beginner and have taken lessons from two different instructors, who were in my mind, real good. When people told me to go on-line for lessons, I had the impression of a young dud in a garage teaching me what he knows to earn some extra money for beer. This is not the case with GuitarTricks—it’s structured, well organized, has a jam track for most lessons to practice with, and I can binge lesson when I have a lot of time. These folks have guitar lessons nailed, I have no questions after each lesson and I feel progress with each lesson. It’s propelled my guitar success and gratification with playing.

Doesn’t get any better than this!. I’m a busy father of three who doesn’t have much spare time. I have a seventeen year old son who plays guitar great. I gladly spent a lot of money for his one on one personal lessons growing up, and I would have loved to be able to take lessons like him. However, that isn’t feasible for me. Anyway, after discovering Guitar Tricks, I subscribed to the yearly options to begin. YOU CANNOT BEAT THAT PRICE! That value took the pressure off of me because I wasn’t sure how much time I’d be able to put into it. A year and a half later, I’m amazed at how much I’ve learned. If I stopped right now, I’d have enough skills to enjoy playing many songs for the rest of my life. If you’re on the fence, just subscribe and get started. You won’t regret it. The app is good, but I’d recommend saving the website to your Home Screen and using that (I just love the layout of the website better.)

Slovene Guitar Tricks hate the new App. The new App now has fixed windows that can’t be adjusted. You can make the video section window full screen but the tablature is isolated to the small bottom third of the screen and you can’t resize it, like before. You have to replay the video over and over again to understand what you can’t see in the tablature section, or pause the video, move the tablature around to see the noted, then unpause to follow along. The windows on the screen need to be adjustable again. Why do app developers keep refreshing the look of an App and breaking things that used to work fine?

Great courses - song library underwhelming. Anders’ fundamentals course has been the one I have stuck to the easiest, I am excited and look forward to his lessons. It has been easy to stick to. I Have tried other self guided apps / tutorials but Ander’s curriculum and method has been the best I’ve experienced. The only downside of the app is their song library. While it does offer some great selections of songs it feels like the songs that I would be excited to learn are few and far between. If your looking for a great fundamentals course (or a course on a particular style like blues) I’d definitely recommend the app!

Totally worth the price!. I’ve been playing guitar for over 35 years and in that time I’ve sought out numerous instructors, none of whom were particularly good. I decided to give Guitar Tricks (which is anything but a “trick”) a try. To my delight I have found it to be very informative and covers such a breadth of topics, very easy to use, and very flexible. Even at the monthly subscription rate (vs the annual rate) it is still a screaming deal. I said I’d never have an app that was subscription based but this is different given that it is an ongoing instruction app. So very glad I signed up. My playing and understanding has definitely increased and I look forward to using the app daily. Good job!

Great app! Amazing lessons!. I have reached through all the internet for a good app that can teach me guitar. I was a complete beginner!! But when I start things I like to do them well (especially if I’ll pay for it). I did a deep research on the apps that teach guitar, like Yousician and Simple Guitar, and believe me, this is the best one that you can invest on! I’ve been using this app for a couple of months, and even though I haven’t been as persistent, I can definitely see so much improvement! Imagine if you go serious about it with this app! They go slow pace, they really take in count that you are a beginner. They have different levels (if you are more advanced). They have a ton of classes of every type of guitar that you may have. Also they have full tutorials on songs and other cool tricks. If you want to get serious with the guitar and learn every detail (and not just know how to play it) this is the app for you. And if you also are looking to just know how to play songs, this is the app for you. I truly recommended! Amazing professors! And the price is accesible. Right now I’m paying 10$ / month

Great learning tool. Great lessons, well presented, wide range of techniques and skills covered.

Great for all levels. This is the best online guitar teaching site that I have come across. I have been playing guitar since I was a youngster in the 70s, paid for private lessons, played in bands and jammed with friends but never felt that I could become more than an intermediate guitarist. I joined guitar tricks nine months ago and have learned a lot more about technique and 'how to play'. The vast content in guitar tricks will help you improve your playing whatever your level.

eXcellent GTR lessons. Though it is quite highly priced the lessons are excellent for all levels. Therefore, an excellent purchase for the serious aspiring guitarist. I am a bassist with 30 years experience and I've learnt quite a few new tricks and details Guitar Tricks I hadn't picked up before. Videos and printable scores are available throughout the lessons and there are some great additional ideas to old favourites!

It’s good but not great. The lessons are terrific, but the app needs improvement. It doesn’t track your progress and can be difficult to find where your next progression of lessons are once you’ve completed a set of lessons, as it doesn’t mark the lessons you’ve completed. Also if I view a lesson in full screen, when I pause or let it run to the end, it freezes and the close button disappears, forcing me to close the app, reopen and then find the lesson again. Frustrating to say the least, but the content is great.

Looks pretty. My biggest gripe is that the app doesn’t track your progress or recognise what lessons you have completed. A simple tick or completed 3 of 7 would help me So it takes me time each day to backtrack to find out where I was up to. So far I think the lessons are good and easy to follow along with. The app is also laid out good.

Fantastic guitar learning app.. As a relatively new player this app has been most helpful, especially if you pay for membership. Good teachers. 👍

Guitar Tricks review. The quality and the specificity of the lessons for specific songs is unmatched by anything free I've used before. Worth the spend to get it right. And the lessons and gear / tone sections are great for all levels of guitarist. Well done guitar tricks!

Beware. This app is just bait to get you to subscribe. You can't get past the first base unless you give them $129 joinging fee. I can't believe Apple allows this sort of conduct. The other review here is obviously by a staff member who does not have to spend the money on subscription.

Nothing valuable for free for testing whether is it god or not. I tried to an exercise to see whether the app worth to buy, and the only lesson-video free was just boring things the I could pick anywhere on YouTube, nothing really useful to start play guitar for real

Ok. The app is pretty good itself but most of the songs require some special equipment. Recommended for beginners, and songs are pretty good, just some minor details missing

Well Done. Good app for short practice rather than firing up the laptop.

Better than the website. This makes Guitartricks so much better. I was already a full member and was waiting for the App to come out.

It's working. I am learning to play, and this method is simply working for me.

Great learning material, terrible app. How do get back to video that is playing if i navigate to the home page and can still hear it playing in the background.? I’m on the last lesson in a section. How do i skip ahead? Where am i in my course? Nothing is numbered. The website UI is really awesome. And this app still has a long way to go. I get lost in it.

Excellent App. Excellent application with clear and easily understandable instructions / lessons. I’m an absolute beginner and have found the lessons structured logically with easy to understand video instructions. Only wish is for some form of interaction where my playing is assessed and advice given. Thanks again to GuitarTricks.

No song without upgrading. Want free songs

Loving learning with this App😊🎸. So so so helpful, the step by step process is “mint” awesome. With discipline I will reach my guitar goals🥰🎸

FREE SO FAR !. Presented by sensible musicans, evenly paced and clearly directed. As a complete newbie I couldn’t ask for more. Thanks.

Easy to learn an very valuable lessons. I wanted to Thankyou for a amazing guitar program . Your trainers make it very easy to learn . I was on (fender play) putting hrs in of play every day an realised i felt like I was going no where . I jump on guitar tricks an put the same amount of hrs in an I’m switching between chords like I’m a pro . Of course with a little practise an repetitiveness. I’m just about to pass course 1 an I’m feeling very happy with where I’m at . When learning guitar I found strategy is a big percentage of it . You need to know learn how to switch to chords quick because that changes your perception on what songs you can play an what songs you can creat. Fender play didn’t do this within its courses . It’s a very key foundation for me (personally) to get a handle on guitar so you can start rocking the world with your own amazing music Love learning from Lisa . She makes it fun an so easy .

Nothing better. Structured progress, this site focuses on you actually playing music. The songs they teach are all licensed from the creators so are accurate. Great value, this site is the best when you want play actual music on your guitar.

5 Stars. This is a great App for everyone not just beginners. The more I use it, the more functions I find. The instructors are first class. Well worth the expenditure

Awesome. If your looking to learn guitar I highly recommend Guitartricks. They have video, tools, tabs, backing tracks and much more well done to all the the teachers keep up the good work. Cheers from the land down under

Must Have App. Absolutely a must have app that makes learning guitar and songs so easy and enjoyable. Great instructors, step by step instructions and worth every dollar of the subscription. A great extension to a terrific website, and best value for money on the market - hands down.

For new people. Great app must try if new

Mike’s review. Best thing I have done to support myself learning the guitar...full time access to teachers at anytime I need. Plus, presented in a way that allows me to understand and develop my skills with a vast selection and styles of music...I feel more confident and enjoy my guitar more than ever!

Muzo2. Fantastic help and reference for my guitar playing.

Don't get sucked in. Yes it's free, but only the first lesson which is kinda redundant. Then it's $279 for a year from the second lesson onwards.

Yo. Good

Excellent Instructors. I do like this very much. The instructors are outstanding guitarists with great instructional styles. There are a few areas they could improve though. Eg. 1. A pictorial of a song’s strumming pattern for instance would be extremely handy. On one of the “Paint it Black” videos I cannot tell whether the I am meant to being strumming on the upstroke as well as the downstroke. 2. Having a search function for a song title or artist rather than just having to scroll through the master list. 3. Being able to save a song from the master list to go back and learn. i.e. I would like to be able to go to “my list” of songs that I intend to work through. 4. I’d love to see “Angie” being taught.

Very solid. Excellent app for beginners, core system gives you a clear pathway with structure. The way they teach songs is exceptional - covers the gear, sound and technics of all guitars used in the song. Really good learning tool.

Great. I absolutely love the way this app has been able to get me motivated to play and learn. Superb instruction and break down of songs. My playing is developing so well now. It turns out this is a cheap investment for a really worthwhile return. So much is available. It’ll keep me busy for years. Well done.

Broken.. Guitar Tricks as training is great. The video playback through this app isn't- it's broken about 50% of the time.

Works well. No problems so far

Brilliant system. Great learning tool for guitarists of any level. Instructors, song choice and lessons are all fantastic. Love it on my Mac, even happier to have an iPad app as well. Won't disappoint.

penis. hate it

ᗩᗯEᔕOᗰE ᗩᑭᑭ. It really helps me and it’s awesome I get loads of help it is super good:) (^-^]:

Very good system. Enjoying learning guitar 👍

Love it. Clear and concise. So many lessons. Great app

SCAM!. You have to pay to play any song at all! I just want to play music people.

Great app, great functionality and look. Lots of room to improve.. Please add the toolbox like the main site. Even a metronome.

Creating a masterpiece. Great way to learn for someone looking to pick up the art of creating music

Great site, great app. The app is great and allows you to access everything you can on the website as far as I can tell, the only thing missing are progress bars, there is no easy way to see where you left off within a particular lesson.

Subscription issues. Upgraded to a new phone. Now cannot access current subscription and cannot renew. Keep getting a error that subscription has failed. Extremely annoying.

Not working. Don't know what's happened but the video lessons won't play on my iPad. Give me an error that the server with the specified host name can't be found. iOS 9.3.5.

You can’t try any lessons. You have to pay before you can even try the app lessons

If you can’t stand being marketed to, skip this. I actually paid for this twice. My problem is that when I pay for a service, I don’t want that service aggressively marketing to me-constantly spamming my email. I like this app. I like the service. But regardless of my clicking the button that says “DON’T send me email notifications”, they just ignore your wishes and treat you like someone they’re not already collecting money from. I can’t express how much I hate being marketed to. Equally as much, I hate a device that ignores your wishes and spams you like crazy. Literally. Sign up and you’ll see. 😕

Great content - more price options needed. These are fantastic lessons. There is so much here for both beginners and experienced players. I just wish there were more pricing options. I know it is a great value for what it has but it is more expensive than other apps out there. That being said, these are real video guitar lessons. The jam tracks and sheet music are great additions. The only thing it lacks are built in practice and review.

Useless App. Not able to log into b via app. I use a password manager which inputs my credentials... works w/ website however in the app it is saying “you have entered incorrect login details”. Inconsistencies between web and app password requirements or passwords lengths?

Impression. J’aime beaucoup GuitarTricks ,peu dispendieux,comparé à un professeur,personnel compétent.parcontre il n’y a rien en français.

Amazing. I can’t tell you how many songs I’ve learnt from this app, it’s amazing and it’s totally worth the money!!

Fast. It was to fast for me to learn from

Great App. I had been taking lessons from an awesome instructor. He took the summer off and I was super bummed. A friend told me to try Guitar Tricks. Holly Freak!!! It has been the best. I started at the beginning figuring I can always learn more and man did I ever. Now I’m playing songs I never thought I’d be able to. Highly recommend this app.

One flaw. The app is great. Possibly the best guitar app out there (and I’ve tried several). However, one infuriating flaw is that it doesn’t show you which videos you’ve already viewed and which you haven’t. It’s particularly frustrating when you have to stop today’s lesson and can’t bookmark your position. I find myself surfing through many similarly themed videos in search of my bookmark. That wastes a lot of time. Otherwise, very well done.

Amazing app. Has everything you need to really learn guitar. You can focus on songs but it has all the theory you need to get really good.

Dont bother!. Have to pay for everything; Scam

Very limitate list of songs.. I give a 3 because the foundation series are great, some diserve a 10 on a scale of 5, really. But I was drown back for another year because in an email they were saying they had so much new videos, well not so much.

Wow. So kool

Beginner Lessons to be free. Looking for a free guitar lessons sorry

Garbage. You need to pay in order to access the app! Not free, scam!!!

Learn guitar. Everyone’s who say it’s note free bla-bla-bla it is expensive... This is a professional learning app not waste time game or what ever... For 100$ a year try to find a guitar teacher who will be available 24/7... Go try! Lol It is my third year with GuitarTricks ! Love it Hard to find better! My only negative point will be not a lot of recent songs Free option btw Justinguitar is awesome!!!

Best video resources. Love how most lessons come with jam tracks. Selection of songs is second to none. Subscription price is well worth it.

GuitarTricks. Waste of money

Awesome app. Awesome

Guitar Tricks App. App was working fine then the newest update does not work on my devices. Sucks

Best guitar instructional app. I have been using this app for a few years. The quality of instruction is excellent. The lessons are easy to follow and I like having the tabs to refer to. There’s something for e everyone. Keep adding more songs!

Be careful!. They waste no time in wanting money! Can't tell how helpful it might be with the basic lessons as your only gauge. Very expensive to even try it for a month! Don't waste your money, there are less expensive and more helpful alternatives out there...do a little research before you pay!

The best, nothing else. Where ever you are, they'll be helping you. Go, there is no excuse anymore. Play and enjoy life.

Excellent. Nice app for iPad . With the repeat a/b function, no need my computer anymore. Good job guys

Very good app. I find the app very helpful with lots of good examples. Would appreciate ability to see more tabs of the exercises and demos. That would make it perfect for me.

Great App!. Fantastic detail for Noobs. I’ve learned a lot. The problem is I’m learning the bass! Why don’t you add a stream for the bass guitar, I would certainly buy!

Learning Made Easy (err, easier). The instructors are fantastic. Each lesson is short and teaches something a bit new. Although the lessons build on what's come before, you can skip lessons if you want. Where the app falls down a bit is in managing your lesson progress. You can't see what you've already completed (by say a checkmark), you can only go directly to the last lesson. You also can't mark lessons as favourites so that you can return to them easily again. Also, they send out regular special lessons. But, if you tap them, the next time you try to resume your regular lessons, you'll be brought back to that special lesson. If it wasn't for that, I've be giving this five stars.

Very impressed. A well organized app with lots of interesting lessons that really delve into topics.

Problem since last update. App will open up but when I try to open up tabs on app, the app kicks me out..

Holliday. I travel US, Canada and MX and it is great to be able to take my lessons wherever Internet is available and on my own schedule. The instructor I choose is fantastic. I would recommend this program to all levels of guitarists.

Holy Emails Batman!!!. Can’t believe the amount of useless emails I got for the first two days after signing up for this app!!!! I get it you want to up sell everyone to buy the lessons but give people a chance to just go through the free demos before bombarding them!!

Great app.. Thanks for all ur help. Slowly getting better. The instructors r great as well and a big help. Thanks for everything...

Great app. Just what I needed! I can learn at my own pace and the lessons are easy to understand and follow. I feel it has better cost value for beginners than a physical instructor.

Needs search options. Happy with lessons but needs search to find songs

Have to pay to learn. I don’t like it because you have to pay and I am only a kid

Needs search. Pretty good but desperately needs a search function to find specific songs.

Ok. Fairly good.as boring as you'd expect

Greg content, app needs work. The videos are amazing, I’ve learned so much so quickly I can’t complain at all in terms of content. The app however could be greatly improved. It should make accessing the content easier but I would almost say you’re better off using the website because then at least when you close it you won’t have to filter through all the choices again just to get to the song you were working on. There needs to be a search function to find songs it’s crazy that there isn’t. Also the app should have a function to let you book mark or save songs you’re working on. Having to scroll to the bottom of the songs list every time I open the app to find the one I’m trying to learn is a bit frustrating. Would be handy also if the app could show your progress through lessons like the website does.

Pay to play. Good variety of songs but you have to pay to play

Straightforward Review. First thing is, it’s a pretty good application. I was just browsing when I found out a comparison between Fender Play which I had against Guitar Tricks and Jam Something. I was astounded what Guitar Tricks was rated to. I signed up for free and I realized Fender Play wasn’t something right for me even I was a beginner. It was kind of expensive though and I hated the Guitar Tricks old interface. But when I saw the instructors who don’t hate making videos like the ones on the Fender Play it was awesome and the amount of knowledge I gained in 2 months really is worth. Even the guitar fundamentals are beyond expectations that even my friend who has been playing for years doesn’t know. Some of the reviews definitely mention that it has some issues with the password and stuff. I had that too but here I’m rating about the content and the application usability. For any issues, I call them directly and they get my account fixed.

Great lessons. This app is so appreciated finally I feel like I have hope to learn the guitar. The instructions are clear and concise and give you valuable tips on the learning process.

Guitar Tricks. A great app! I am a beginner who took a few lessons many years ago. This app, and the website, have lessons suited for every skill level, plus a large and varied song library. The videos are great for following along, and you can go as fast or as slow as you want. The subscription is about $27/month, but that is cheaper than guitar lessons, and I can sit down and play with it whenever I want. I am definitely getting value for my money so far.

Worth to pay!. I am a beginner and tried many YouTube videos to learn. Some were good, some not so good. After reading a few online reviews, I downloaded GuitarTricks free service. I loved the layout and the quality of the instructional videos so decided to pay for the yearly membership. It has been a week now and I enjoy it so much everyday. Highly recommended.

I am mad. I WANTED TO LEARN THE CORDS BUT THRN FIND OUT I HAVE TO PAY?!?!?! THIS IS MADNESS! I just wanted to learn how to play a few cords and maybe some songs. Now I get that you guys have to make money somehow but at least make the cords part free because for the most part I don’t think someone is going to pick up a guitar and play it on their head. So I am probably going to delete this app and get a new one because I am not paying nothing for a couple notes.

Software improvements. Amazing app but it just needs a few features like autoplay and continuing your video where you left off. Also some sort of progress report for better engagement.

App easy to use and sync with TV. This App is easy to use and sync with TV for better viewing and control than just watching from the phone internet.

Could not be better!. I think the course is the best online by far. The course is laid out logically and thoroughly so anyone can learn guitar at his or her own pace. The lessons are complete and precise so that every detail of playing is carefully and thoroughly explained. I have never been more satisfied with any online course of any learning whatsoever!

Old guy learning something new. 57 year old dude picking up on guitar through video. Yes , you need to be wanting to learn , but the teacher “ Lisa” is super at teaching and going slow. It’s been 3 days with the program and so far I’ve learned 3 chords . I’m stoked, for someone who never picked up a guitar .

Not bad, could use some improvements. App needs ability to speed up / down the video, and to loop if posible, like online. Some of it is way too fast / slow and some parts need multiple reps to get it right. Overall not bad though, just a little basic.

Amazing app. This app is incredible. I’m learning so much and I’m retaining the information. Everything is broken down and explained so well by all the incredible instructors. This app actually teaches you how to play and not just play certain songs or follow a bouncing ball. You learn styles, techniques and actual songs. I wish I tried this app first. Couple critiques: 1. The notation in the lessons are difficult to read. You aren’t able to zoom in or full screen the tab. 2. I wish there was a way to mark your progress or mark the lessons that you’ve done. (I believe you can in the actual website but not the app) 3. Add some Bass lessons.

I WOULD love this app if.... Look, I’m new to playing guitar, and I was SUPER excited when I found this app! I downloaded it, then started the very first lesson. Soon enough I finish, and I go to start the next lesson, and then I see what almost everyone hates. “UPGRADE”. Fricken ridiculous! I wanted to learn how to play the guitar, not how to spend fricken 30 bucks a month for guitar lessons! I would HIGHLY suggest not getting this app if you don’t want to spend 30 bucks for something that you don’t even know if it’ll help!

The app is more difficult to navigate through then just going through google. It’s muted when the videos start and you have to tap to unmute. Annoying. Just not a very good app or program. Limited songs and some instructors go fast and don’t break not down enough before they move on. I want to know string and fret for each note or phrase.

Great for beginners. So far I really like it. I can’t make in person sessions except for weekends and they’re pricey. Only issue is the new version isn’t on the Apple TV app and streaming from my iPad to TV isn’t too convenient. Other than that it’s great

Very insightful. Love the app. Let gives a brief look at why why you are going things. Gives the option to take it to the next level if you want.

UI needs an update. The site contains a lot of stuff, but it is difficult to get around. There is no auto play for the videos and no indication to move forward after the video is done. And when I open the app, it shows the last video viewed, but shows nothing about the course progress. The UI needs an update!!

Great app w/ tons of info. After researching several apps I decided to give this one a try. I haven’t regretted it so far! I played when I was younger and got away from it. I started as a beginner with the app and the information it teaches is unbelievable!!! Definitely worth the monthly membership without a doubt.

Website is better. Website has more features versus the iPad application. The iPad application lacks the ability to keep track of each lesson progress. The content is very good although at times can be a rather slow pace. I end up playing the video at 1.5x to 2x the normal speed.

Glad. Glad to be back. The last year I left GuitarTricks, I was looking for something better. Didn’t find it, a wasted year later I’m glad to be back, and look forward to getting better at guitar with this method. Sincerely, Tim Norris

Great app with awesome support. I’ve been using guitar tricks a long time now and I can say that they are committed to providing new content and updating their app on a consistent basis... this is especially important to me when I’m paying a subscription... I’ll continue to be a loyal customer as long as their support remains top notch

Ok. I have been a member for years and they haven’t added new songs in a long time just a couple in years and they have lost quite a few songs over the years, kinda disappointed

Great Learning Program Overall, but.... Really great program for ~$15 a month. Tons of learning materials and tools. My only knock is that not enough of what’s available to take advantage of from the website is not present in the app.

No in between. I’m an intermediate player lesson are either to simple and boring or to fast with little explanation the tab graphics on screen are helpful but not used in advanced lessons for some reason extended jam tracks would be great paid for a year and will use it but probably won’t renew

Mobile video. My biggest complaint is that the video doesn’t automatically turn when the phone is turned. My next complaint is the camera shot on the videos doesn’t really provide clarity of finger placement. Other than that I love the walk through of each vid. Over all great teaching tool.

Frequent app crashes. Although the app content works fine (when it works) the app keeps crashing very frequently ;especially when we pause a lesson and return to resume. The app crashes. The app hangs if a lesson is paused to access another app. When I return, the lesson hangs and then crashes. I have to restart the app, locate the lesson I was in and then resume which is very inconvenient. Please look into this and release an update to address this issue. No other app in my devices behaves in this manner.

Very good content. The content (lessons) have been excellent. The app is missing some of the functionality that the web version has (e.g., lesson progress). I've found Guitar Tricks (web and app) to be well worth the subscription as I've started learning guitar

Crashes and won’t pause. Really enjoying this app but crashes and restarts videos and the worst of all it won’t let me rewind or pause the video, so I’m stuck trying to figure out a song while the video is almost over causing me to restart the 10 min video for just a minute or two of material.

Love the app, but I have a few recommendations. I am loving this, but can you add more modern pop artists like Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift. That along with those as artists courses would add so much to the app for me at least.

Great lessons. I’ve been a subscriber for over 5 years now. Great lessons. The three screen video of the instructors face, left hand and right hand makes it easy to follow. Then all guitars 1, 2 and sometimes 3 in the back in track performance makes it clear. All notes are reviewed in detail. I can rock again!

Great way to learn. If you want to learn from the ground up, or just learn a song, this system can accomplish both. The instructors are great. The camera work is outstanding. And the ability to slow everything down and loop sections to learn is incredible.

Works!!🎸🎸🎸🎸. Easy fun affordable. ESPECIALLY when you are a beginner and Kent meet with your music teacher every week keeps you and your fingers moving and you’re learning. Easier to understand when you do meet your teacher.

Great for when you're mobile!. Love the website and the app. It does the basics and I am able to view lessons wherever I am. Not tracking progress in the app is a bit annoying but I am more concerned with content!

No Excuses. Absolutely the best !!! Positive encouragement with practical advice. Answer most if not all of those little “why didn’t that sound right” questions. I’ve tried to learn to play several times before and each time gave up frustrated. I now know that it was because I didn’t have good, practical, guidance. Now I do, so I have no excuses. Thanks Guitartricks !!!

Love it(one problem). I love this app!! It is very useful and the step by step learning structure is so very good!! The only thing Is the lack of some music. There is a ton of songs I want to learn that aren’t on here. Most the songs here are all oldies or something. Help me out here, and add some more lessons for new country or something.

Has Issues. I love guitar tricks for learning to play guitar. I hate it for learning to play songs. The song lessons are taught as if they’re teaching someone who has never seen a guitar to play a song. JustinGuitar is a much better app for learning songs. The app itself functions poorly. It’s hard to play along when some of the sheet music is cut off. And why doesn’t the music scroll like on the website?

Loss of content. If you can find material you like then it’s worth the cost. Problem is that many of the most sought after artists/songs are not available and quite often they loose that rights to that content. I would find another provider.

Issues on iPhone. The content is great (same as on the website). However after nearly every piece of a lesson, the app locks up and the only thing I can do is close the app, reopen it, and go through all the menus to get back where I was. If I try to go to a different part of a lesson, I can no longer click anything else or go any farther. Would be a great app if it worked more than 10% of the time.

Straight up worth every penny!. Hey, I admit the app tends to be limited, or honestly I simply haven’t taken the time to learn the app. Most importantly to me is the content! You want to learn? Then this is the place. I really have no opinion to give about the app.

Great way to get started!!!. I’ve tried a few different online/ cd guitar lessons. Guitar Tricks is by far the best. For the beginner there is no better way to build the foundation. For Guitar Tricks- 1) think their should be some lessons on fretting and strumming hand position and technique. Maybe that comes later but haven’t seen it up to Fundamentals 2. 2) would suggest that the lessons add some comment on how much time should be spend practicing each lesson or in fundamentals 2, if you have to memorize each scale shape? they are coming fast and furious now.

Loyal customer. Been using Guitar Tricks before it even had an app. Great website and app that always improves and adds content. Thanks Guitar Tricks for all of the wonderful lessons! I am also a music teacher and appreciate the quality teaching. Well done.

Good for beginners and low intermediate players.. Pros: Good format, with several options (visuals, tablature, etc). Teachers are clear. Good for beginners and low intermediate players. Cons: Limited inventory of songs. Mostly geared to electric. I play acoustic. Levels were too low for me. Frustrating signing up, frustrating help section. Example: I couldn’t figure how to operate the looping feature, help section didn’t address it, and my email to support on the subject went unanswered.

Great support group!. I had difficulty with my password, but my problem was fixed in a few hours. The team was helpful, and I haven’t had any further difficulties.

Outstanding platform for aspiring guitarists of all levels of experience.. GuitarTricks offers a curriculum of well-taught lessons for aspiring guitarists of every level of proficiency; from beginner to well-versed instrumentalists, to practicing professionals out to maintain their chops. Each lesson offers well-explained tabulature backed by easily understood instruction offered by any one of a GuitarTricks’ outstanding instructors.

Very helpful app. This is a terrific way to learn to play the guitar. I’m still very new, but I’ve learned more from this app in a week than I have with formal lessons. I think they both have there place and these two different approaches are working well for me. I suggest that anyone who’s interested in learning to play guitar should definitely give this a try.

Guitar Tricks works. I’m 55 and have always wanted to learn guitar. My husband bought me one for my birthday, but I had no idea where to start. I found guitar tricks and it’s been fantastic. I can move at my own pace and repeat a lesson 5 times if I need to. Absolutely recommend Guitar Tricks

Love it!!. I’m a beginner on guitar, and this app is amazing! I learned more in my first week with the app than I ever thought was possible! It’s great to be able to play simple songs right from the start!

All you need 👍🏻. I love Guitar Tricks and all the awesome content. The back button is not the best it is difficult to get it to work. You have to try a few times till it will work. All in all it’s a great way to learn. 👍🏻

Total beginner - Love this app!. I have always wanted to learn guitar. Problem is I have no experience playing any other instruments, and no time to go to lessons. I bought myself a decent acoustic guitar for Christmas, and started with this app. I LOVE it! I practice every day, and have actually made a lot of progress. Also, after the first week, my fingers stopped hurting. Totally worth it if you want to get the basics of technique down and actually learn guitar vs just learning a couple of songs. I feel confident that this app + regular practice will get me to a level that I can play anything.

Great app with a few suggestions. 1. You can’t download lessons for use offline for folks in areas without broadband. 2. Include the lyrics in the notation 3. Make the notation printable (like Guitartabs). Right now I have to screen capture each page, crop, save as photo, then print.

Good app. So far I’m enjoying the app! It’s simple to use and easy to follow the instructors. Only thing I don’t like is that we can’t print the tabs. I mean I get the copyright laws and all but if we can get it right in front of us why can’t we print it for ease of learning? Anyway still a great tool for learning!

Jack. NH Live Free and Play!. Keep it up! Make the best better. More songs and style study of the greatest influencers of our DAYS. Edward VH, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Life by the drop, Life without you, More Clapton and Gilmore! The best can Keep Getting Better, great instruction. Need all the theory comments and gear talk to really get a handle on this irreplaceable hobby. Good work folks!

Great for beginners!. Well done! The lessons are short and well explained. Perfect for those starting out. I find myself looking forward to practicing. The fundamental classes are perfect for anyone playing for the first time. Each lesson is broken down to small steps and well organized. There is no need to hunt around where to go next.

Best guitar source from beginner to expert. This is an indispensable site for anyone who wants to learn guitar and enjoy practice . The instructors are knowledgeable and thorough and bring out the nuances of theory . Their love and appreciation of the craft and material shines through. There are great songs in multiple genres , lessons for building chops, and interesting tips. Worth every penny - best bang for the buck !

Website is way better than app. Guitar tricks has definitely taken my guitar playing to another level. Unfortunately the website is way better than app. Ok website it easier to track your progress and save your place.
