Good. Needs more features. There is an issue when if you’re scanning barcodes and your phone goes to sleep, the camera will be frozen when you unlock your phone. There should be an option to add nutrition facts and take pictures of things. (Multiple pictures so you can take a pic of the nutrition facts label?)

Account was deleted, no support. We signed up with this app and also added the pro subscription for $5.99 per year. The app has some quarks but in general its a good app. I would say the app deserves 4 stars, but support left us high and dry, so that gets them one star. We have used the app for about 6 months and have about 600 items in the list. All of a sudden when opening the app, the app greeted us with a welcome screen. This happened on all our iOS devices. We tried resetting the password but never got the email. We contacted support and for several weeks we did not receive an answer. We emailed them again, another few weeks have gone by, still no answer. Just as a test, we tried signing up as a new user with the exact same email address, a new account was created but all our items are lost and we cannot restore the $5.99 pro license. It seems our account was deleted! I leave this review and it’s up to you to decide if you want an app where you enter a ton of products, spend a lot of time doing so and when there is a problem, support does not care and does not respond. I am very, very disappointed.

Super Easy. We just put this on all our iDevices and have all three freezers in it. We upgraded to the full version and are very happy. Plan on doing the 2nd pantry in the basement later so we don’t end up with another 5 bottles of Mayo! Absolutely LOVE the sync feature. Everything was updating in real-time on our devices. Highly recommend!!!

Superb app. I wrote a review earlier because I was frustrated when I purchased this app. I would like to change that review and give this app a 5 star. This app is great and superb! The Developer got back with me and fixed the problem (the Pro upgrade would not upload); it took a little while for the Developer to get back with me, but it was worth the wait and I must give him credit for getting back with me. I am loving this app - there is no other app out there in comparison to the “No Waste.” There is no subscription fee - just a one time fee for the Pro upgrade for $5.99 (I believe it was). I thanked the Developer for creating this app and a job well done!

Glitchy and missing stuff. Such a shame. I liked this because the interface was cleaner, simpler, but it is glitchy with the expiration dates, categories, and editing the names of things. It automatically puts things in categories or freezer-pantry-fridge that I want to move to a different area, but if there’s any kind of quantity you can’t do that. I wish I had the option to build a grocery list directly from my inventory, not just recently added inventory. ...little annoyances here and there that pile up and make the app frustrating. Bummed.

No customer service. Impossible to get ahold of anyone. Locked out of my account and PW reset doesn’t work, paid for the PRO feature and can’t use it. Have sent 3 emails and waited a month, still no response. I want the app to work and would gladly change my review if someone would reach out to help. Doubt another 1 star review will trigger a response from the team, but hoping it does!

Helpful App, Great Support. I downloaded the app to try it out. I tried several others but they each had something that wasn’t quite what I was looking for. This app has some flexibility that allows you to get a handle on your inventory. Though it may not be prefect for everyone as we all have a different idea on what we need an app to do. In my opinion it is close to what most of us need from this type of app. Now that being said I did have a slight issue when upgrading to pro, which I like the ability to send to CSV by the way. It was having trouble upgrading, I sent an email advising of my issue and had a response in 24 hrs and the issue was resolved within 48 hrs. Thank you for taking care of this issue so quickly.

Do not use. My wife purchased this app for us to use to track inventory in our pantry. Worked well until we tried to setup the user for sharing and import her list, that deleted everything she had spent hours working on. We sat down together to start again, we scanned the printed list. While working through the scanned items, the app crashed and lost everything again. This is a very poorly designed app not worth the 5.99 or the aggravation!

I like it. I like the concept, it’s well designed, not expensive (I upgraded), and I was excited to use it! So I scanned about 20 items in my pantry, went through and edited categories and amounts, and then clicked “add all” and the app crashed and went I went back in none of the stuff I added saved. It probably only took about 5 to 10 minutes to do, but it was tedious and I was too frustrated to do it again. I probably could scan each item individually but then it would be even more tedious. Also: when you click “add all” and it actually does work, you get a message saying something like “added!” You’re supposed to click “ok” but no matter how many times you do the message won’t go away. Lastly: there isn’t an icon for oils. I use oils. In spite of all of this, I do like the app, so I’ll keep it and hope for bug fixes.

Free or Pro worth it either way. I got through cataloging almost my entire pantry with Free and decided to upgrade because I wanted to export. Am loving it so far. My only ask is that you could have different expiration dates within each item so I don’t have to have 5 separate listings for each item in my stash. I’ve been keeping 1 listing and just using the most recent date, but there’s room for improvement there.

Excellent software. My family uses this app to track our food in our different refrigerators and freezers. The app helps us plan our meals much easier, and know what we need to buy at the store in a pinch. We purchased Pro soon after downloading, the barcode scanner is robust and having multiple inventories was very helpful. As far as I can tell, the app is unique in its features, UI, and function for food inventory. It’s the only one that kept a proper inventory when we were searching. Been a user for a long time now, the latest versions (late 2020, early 2021) are even better and more functional. This is an example of an app that gets better with time, something that doesn’t always happen. Keep up the good work!

Super helpful app!. Really enjoying this app. It’s a little difficult to navigate at times and we’ve maxed out the number of locations, but overall it’s worth a little time and effort to have a full picture of what food is on hand. The expiration date reminders are very helpful!

Could be improved. I really like the idea behind this app and have wanted to be more conscious about food waste. I got the pro to help with notifications but I’ve noticed that the app will not actually communicate correctly with my phone’s notification system. While the notifications keep appearing in the app, I’m not getting notified outside the app (checked the settings too). It also seems to do double entries when scanning barcodes and putting in inaccurate expirations dates for certain items. The scan receipt feature also seemed to be stuck when I tried to use it (wasn’t even a long grocery list). I think this app has potential but has quite a few bugs which I’m hoping will be fixed soon.

Glitchy, and lost all my food. It takes many many hours of upfront and ongoing investment to set up and use this app. It would be worth it, but it has proven so glitchy as to barely be usable at the best of times. (My husband finally swore it off a few months ago and said I’d have to do all the input and deleting myself, because it was so glitchy.) But the real issue is that the developer decided to move the database to a new server this month, and in the process MANY users’ food was lost, including mine. This is apparently the users’ fault for not responding to some notification that the developer purportedly gave that they’d have to export and then import their food. I still have no idea how this “notification” supposedly happened (I have no emails, noticed no pop ups, saw nothing in the app), so it was either a 1-time unclear notification, or it was hidden well. Regardless, my food is now lost and many hours of my life wasted, and my $6 for the app wasted. Seriously, just use a google spreadsheet to track your food.... cause this app is not worth the pain. The barcode scanning feature seldom works for our food, anyway. Edit: apparently the “notification” to export your food was in the NOTES TO THE UPDATE DESCRIPTION IN THE APPLE STORE. As if anyone EVER reads those; all our apps auto update. What a joke.

Great app with great potential. This app is has all the main features I am looking for and then some. - meal planning option - shopping list - pantry (freezer, fridge and pantry) I have few issues with this app which is why it got 4 stars. 1. It seems to sync after every single change made. If I have my data off it just keeps waiting to update. I wish syncing would be done on the opening and closing of the app with a manual option to sync on demand. 2. Also there is no prompt on the sign out feature. I touched it and I immediately got signed out. I wish there was a prompt for this. What I wish this app had: - allowing item price as well as tax percent. This would definitely help with budgeting which is one of the reasons I searched for and got this app.

Highly Recommend!!!. This has almost everything I am looking for in a pantry tracking app. You can add categories (fridge, freezer, pantry, ect), type of packaging, weight, and even where it is! The expiration date is customizable and there are rings next to each item showing how close to expiration it is. Very easy to use and perfectly simple (without all the unnecessary clutter other apps add). This is a genius solution to tracking and reducing waste in my home and across the world. The only suggestion to make this app better would be to type in the weight/ quantity rather than selecting the set number. This would help for the 1.5lb packages. Still great without that option!

HUGE WASTE OF TIME. I purchased the app and the paid for the ability to have access of more scan bars and additional storage areas. Recently I went to updat my pantry and received an error message. There was NO ability to contact the technical folks at No Waste. I checked the app store and found an update. I updated and now I have LOST ALL MY DATA and access to the extra scan bars. I found an email address on the internet but no one ever responded. HUGE RIP OFF.

Cool Idea, App needs work. The idea of saving money and food is great! However the scanner does not work. I also have tried adding food multiple times and it won’t add to the list. I wouldn’t go pro for this one you’re better using your phone calendar until improvements can be made.

Can’t access my account! Hours wasted!. We spent hours scanning and organizing our inventory. The app worked great for a couple months until about a month ago. It now doesn’t let me log in! When I try a password reset the app gets stuck and never sends a reset password email. There have been multiple updates since and nothing. I’ve reached out to customer service several times and nothing! No waste? Total waste of my time. Worst customer service ever!

No Longer Functional - No Support. I have been using this app for years and have become thoroughly dependent on it. I have lifetime pro membership, which turns out it doesn't mean much, since I expect to have decades left yet I can no longer even use the app. It was wonderful until it stopped letting me add items to my inventory (I'm nowhere near the huge pro limit). Whenever I try to add anything, I just get a loading/processing icon that never goes away. I can still remove and relocate items, but I can't add anything. I've had to keep a separate list on paper of things I've bought since the app broke for me. I've tried logging out, uninstalling, restarting the phone, redownloading, and signing in. Everything is still there but I still can't add anything new. As others have reported, contacting the developer is pointless. I have received no response. Disappointing. This was a wonderful app when it worked, but it seems completely unsupported.

Lost everything, including all my time. One week ago this would have been a 5 star rating, loved the organization and all the entry methods. We spent a great deal of time inventorying our freezers. A notice was out to upload everything to cloud before the update, and we did. The program updated and we are no longer recognized. Trying to enter your email and claiming you want to reset password results in the little spinny going around for hours and no reset link sent in the mail. I honestly don't think I have the patience to start from scratch knowing this developers lack of update skills may cause me to lose everything once again.

Doesn’t save material. I recently downloaded the app, went on a scanning spree made sure to save all my items to find not all them saved. They were done one on one so to not miss anything. I brought the app because I was so excited to have something like this to fail. I have reached out on IG and no answer. I would like to get refunded if possible since I will not be using it any longer. Thank you

Actively updated app, but clunky UI. What separates this app from its competitors, for me, is the fact that it is being actively updated by its developers. I think this is excellent, so great job to the developers who didn’t abandon this :) The app’s UI is a bit clunky though. I wish it was more compact and menus/settings required less taps to access. The date selection/quantity selection is quite horrendous, with the option box being terribly tiny. The quantities of items should also accept custom values from the user.

Wish There Were More Locations. I did a lot of searching and this seems to be the best app for pantry organization. There are 3 locations ; freezer, fridge and pantry. Each location has only 3 sub-locations. I wish they were unlimited or at least way more than 3. Otherwise the app has barcode ability to add items, track expiration dates as well as different locations. I haven’t seen all 3 together outside of this app.

Expect frustration and data loss. I spent a fair amount of time creating an inventory, only to have the app unexpectedly crash and lose all of the data. Now reading reviews, several others have had the same problem. This appears to be fairly common. There are number basic use-ability issues that are also frustrating, but unexplained data loss is a show stopper.

Great idea, needs polish. My family has been using NoWaste for several weeks now. Love the idea (WANT to live the app) and the app is a great start, but it needs a lot of work. Adding items isn't intuitive, for instance the system shows you defaults based on the last item you entered, but you have to re-enter or at least tap on each option (size, number of items, category) to set them for the current item. You have to scroll through the categories list each time, you can't search for the category. It takes the app a significant time to sync your list each time you add or remove items. Need to partner with sure database of UPC codes so that users don't have to enter details of so many items. Lots of small bugs like that around adding/moving items means that it takes WAY too long to add your new items after grocery shopping. This friction will cause many potential users to give up. It would be nice to interface with existing shopping list apps like Anylist. Instead NoWaste offers its own inferior shopping list option. Stick with your core concept, providing access to the list of the food you have in your home. There have been several app updates since we purchased it so at least the developer is actively working on it.

No waste. I have used this app for awhile and generally have liked it. I went to check my inventory and have been locked out of some locations. I paid a one time price for access to 3 pantries, 3 freezers, 3 refrigerators. Without any notice the app has switched to a subscription and locked me out of seeing most of my inventory. This is an unfair business practice and I would not buy any app from this developer. It’s sneaky and malicious. After emailing with the developer this problem has been resolved satisfactorily. It is a great app for keeping inventory and modifications were made quickly once they were aware of the problem.

Great tracking app for freezer food. I am using this app to keep up with food in my freezer. It is easy to set up and use! Until now food got “lost” in my upright freezer, but not now. I have not been using NoWaste long but am finding it indispensable. I’ve already saved money according to the included tracker, and I have noticed it. No doubt about it, I am very pleased by NoWaste.

The best pantry inventory. This is the best pantry organizer I found. It has a pleasant, if slightly odd, interface. Ability to scan barcodes. Expiration alerts. It is important to me that it is not on the subscription bandwagon. The fee for extra functions is a reasonable one time fee. However, the free version is generous and usable.

Barcoding was sort of ok, but not great, but I didn't mind manually entering pantry items. Functionality is very good when it works. I was able to enter more than 1600 items into a variety of locations. Then all of a sudden it stopped letting me add items. The other functions still work. After about a week to trying to enter more items and unsuccessfully trying to contact the author for support, I gave up and exported my data to an apple numbers spread sheet that is working ok for me. I would have hung in longer if I received any response from the support email address. Too bad, it has the potential to be a great app.

It’s all gone. I’ve been scanning my incoming food now for awhile and had a good handle on things... until today. Today I opened the app and it acted as if I had never used it before. Then it demanded a email address and password that it never required either. And now months of data entry and recipes are GONE! Add to that the developer making excuses that not all subscription perks I’ve already paid for are not available because no legitimate excuse. Where the hell is my DATA???!!! Vendor instructions to get refund on 12 month subscription after only 4 months doesn’t work. Reported to Apple. Avoid this app like the plague.

Photo taking would make this app better. Great idea! It is very useful for eliminating food waste, however, I think that an easy option of allowing photos to be set as the logos for the food so that it is easier to picture where the food is or what it looks like would be awesome.

Just what I needed. This app might not be the most intuitive when you first open it up, but, stick with it for just a little bit and it gets easy! Brilliant way to track food, plan meals, and make shopping lists. It paid for itself the very first time it reminded me to eat some frozen kale that was about to expire. Also, from a moral/ethical standpoint I'm so happy to be reducing my food waste. I'd been throwing away a lot of food because I forgot I had it or missed the expiration date, and this is helping so much.

Useful, hoping for improvements. Overall this is a useful app. My main goal in downloading it and getting the pro version (very reasonable since it’s a one time cost) was to get notifications of when food is about to expire so that we don’t waste as much. For the most part this app works, but there are some glitches that hopefully will continue to get fixed with future updates. For example, once in a while when you scan the barcode, the wrong expiration date pops up. There are still other times where it doesn’t recognize the type of food, and when you try to enter it manually, it doesn’t let you put an expiration date or puts the date that you enter as the expiration date. For this to be useful, the expiration dates have to be accurate. Overall though, I’m hopeful as I do think this will help me keep better track of our food and when it’s expiring. I haven’t used the receipt feature yet but I’m hoping that will work too.

Crashes and upgrades don’t preserve data. Seriously guys? I’m glad you released an update that hopefully fixes all of the crashes but would it have killed you to migrate my existing database into the new database format? I launched the app to see what was due to expire soon and all of my data was gone with this latest upgrade. I’ll have to reimport my entire pantry if I want to use it. But if I do that, will I have to do it again next time you decide to update things?

Camera is too blurry to read barcodes. This has been the bane of my existence for every app that includes a scanner. Apple has not taught developers how to use specify the close-up camera for the new iPhone, and so it always defaults to the wide angle lens, meaning any every barcode ever made is too small to capture using the default camera. I’ve dropped many apps for this reason alone, but so far the manual item entry is manageable.

Why I love No Waste. I love NoWaste because it gives me control of my food inventories at any time or place across all my devices. I can look at my inventory while at the store.

This app is the BEST!. I really discovered this app looking for a way to track the food in my house currently, but I LOVE the “no waste” feature! I felt like I wasting a lot of food and want to do better about that to save money. And this app made it SO easy! Only a few days in but I have already made efforts to eat soon-to-be expired foods and eat out less, since I have a clear picture of what is already at home. Thank you!!

Hangs to “updating” when editing an item in the shopping list. The app hangs when editing an item in the shopping list. It shows “updating” text with a spinning wheel and stops working. The app is clunky in many other aspects too. For example: The shopping list shows items in the general overview together with “pantry” and “freezer”, but it will not show any of those items if you don’t select the exact date you have planned to buy the items. So there is no quick way to know what you need to buy when or a quick way to change the date you plan to buy something. I set the language to English, but when I add groceries to a new meal, it will show a label in danish instead for the total added groceries in the overview page once I have added an item. Sorry, but it seems to be that the app needs a lot of debugging although the basic idea is a good one.

Keeps CRASHING!!. So in the middle of cv19 pandemic I wanted an app to track what food we have to work w, what we’ll need...etc., I install 3 similar apps(this1, pantry chef, myinventory)...decide to go w yours and pay the 1 time upgrade. It’s user-friendly, has quick video tutorials, cute icons for the categories and other stuff, bUT... it keeps shutting down just as I input the details for my stocked stuff! It’s gonna take forever to organize what I’ve got on hand (and that’s ONLY if it doesn’t keep crashing). The developers and their creative team have a good idea, but it defeats the purpose of managing food waste&costs...if my time waste increases. DEVELOPERS: Please fix this bug, it’d be nice to rewrite a post review for the app w 5 starred details. Or at least refund my purchased upgrade.

Paid. I paid for the app so I could list things with no expiration date but when I click no expiration the system seem to just choose whatever date it thinks is right.

Nice but can be better. I really like this app for the most part. It’s pretty buggy for me where it randomly closes or my meals will just go blank after saving it. It’s weird that you can’t add meals from the Meals list to the Meal Plan...they have to be added separately along with all the ingredients and recipe. It would be extremely nice and make way more since if I could choose meals from the meals list to the meal plan

Glitches. I love the idea behind this app tho there are some glitches. I can understand that it wouldn’t have every barcode for everything. I can even understand that it wouldn’t have the correct expiration for every item, but can’t some items be correct!? This app keeps putting my dry beans in my fridge for some reason. Who stores dry beans in their fridge? I can’t get it to read receipts. And it would be really nice if when I have a shopping list and I enter new items that match that the list would be linked somehow and check off on its own because I’m doing enough manually as it is. But no I have to go through one by one with the same screen to say whether its been wasted, eaten or just delete it. I am still learning how to use this app to its fullest potential but with so much manual entry work I worry about errors. Did I miss dates, is the app changing them, are items in the right place, who puts dry beans in my fridge and frozen cauliflower in my pantry? Can it just get ONE expiration date right?

Love this app, one major complaint though.. This app is very helpful and allows me to make sure I eat what food is about to expire instead of wasting it. One thing that I wish the app did is allow you to add ingredients from your ingredient list under the meals that you are planning on making to your grocery list.

Great app! Could become very popular with some work. If you’re looking to get this app, I would go ahead! It’s really great to track all your food items. I’ve just recently downloaded this app, and from what I can see it’s pretty great. Most of the bad reviews on here are pretty old and have been fixed already. A few tips I have for the developers are: - Add more categories!!! I find it a bit funny that you have a category for “Chocolate creme” (which basically means Nutella)but not for something as simple as baking ingredients or sauce. Some of the categories are a bit too specific as well, like flour. People usually don’t have multiple types of flour at once. - Maybe make there be a way to eat some of a product but not all? For example, if I have 5 packages I could just check it off and it will move down to 4 packages or something. Keep working on this app! I love it so far and I think it will just keep getting better!

Great idea, it poorly thought out. This is a wonderful idea! Being able to keep up with the foodstores in my kitchen (Didn't I see a bottle of ketchup in that cupboard?) would be a modern wonder! But not this list keeper! It needs to go back to the drawing board for a completely thought out app. (Broccoli will never be found in the pantry.) Re do and then reissue. I would even pay for such an app that is well done.

Very disappointed - a real ripoff. First you download the free app to get started to test if you like it. Immediately you need to upgrade to use the inventory scanner. I bit the bate. Once I upgrade $5.95, the app looked totally different . When I finally located the barcode scanning option, not one item in my entire 2 refrigerators and pantry was recognized. The scan option was the reason I selected this inventory app. I would like a refund.

No Customer Support. While this app is well structured be aware that you are on your own regarding customer support. My question sent was to see if the app could support more than 3 freezer locations because with 2 houses we have more. In addition, I’d like to find out why using search on an iPad, doesn’t display items. I didn’t bother sending that question to customer service because it appears to be a waste of time.

Notifications do not work. This app design is nice. I bought it to notify me of when items are about to expire. However this feature does not work. I don’t get any notices. You can specify how many days in advance you want to get an alert, and the settings never save. I could make it 4 days to alert, if I go to edit again, it says it’s set to 1 day. This feature needs fixed. I should be able to receive notices when app isn’t open. If this feature gets fixed I’ll give a nice 5 star.

Bugs. A lot of bugs. Every food expires in 10 months even when I have set the custom expiry date. Does not use apples “Password” function to help sign in.

Really helps the forgetful. Takes a little bit of time to get used to the interface but this is great for reminding me of all the things in the fridge that need to be used, and warning me a day before things go off.

Cloud-Freezer. This app is a big disappointment. I made the in app purchase of the barcode scanning function. This appeas to be money wasted as when you scan a barcode, nothing appears. It does not capture the product's name or anything else about the product. It claims that once you have laboriously typed in the product's name after fighting against the Apple text auto suggestor, that next time you scan the product the name you have manually typed in will reappear as a new item on the list. So far, I haven't been able to get this to work. Other apps like My Fitness Pal bring in a host of information about a product once you scan the barcode. In Cloud-Freezer this doesn't seem to happen. Why purchase a barcode function when you still have to painfully type in the product name? I asked Cloud-Freezer about this and they simply didn't reply. I'll be looking for alternatives to this app.

Login no longer works. Since upgrade to version 6, the app needs an email login instead of user name it previously used. So despite exporting my data as required, I have lost access to my list and recipes. Email to developer completely ignored. Don’t waste your time on this worthless app...because developer seems to change login rules at his whim and doesn’t care that subscribers lose data that can take hours to load. If I could give this zero stars I would.

Loving this so far. I love knowing what food products I have available in each area. this is especially helpful since we produce and preserve a lot of our own food. We use chest freezers and it is easy to forget what is in the bottom of them or when it may expire. Just one suggestion could weights of product be selected differently, so many of the tinned, bottled and packaged products do not finish on 00 grams and 50 gms eg 65 or 375 etc. in our case what we preserve especially does not fall into 00 or 50 gm categories. Great app that’s changed my food habits, but has now logged me out. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS APP! It really has been such a life-changer and given me a much better relationship with food and my general grocery shop. It took me forever to put all the items in my fridge, pantry and freezer in, and I was shocked about how much stuff I actually had. I’m absolutely devastated though because I opened the app today and it had signed me out. I tried to log back in and it didn’t work and the app has been loading the “reset password” screen for an hour. Hoping that it’s just a slight hiccup and I can go back to loving and using the app.

Good but not Great. It’s great at having basic inventory control of your pantry but duplicate section of the same product can easily occur when the app doesn’t associate what was written in pre-existing food items that’s already in the system when adding more of the same food product. The app should remember what I last wrote as a the title of that certain product so when I buy another one of that item it generates the same title, thus having one name for all quantities of that product item. I’m aware you can search for that item and increase it on the menus but it’s easier and more convenient to scan and add

Lack of instructions. I'm sure the app can do a lot but it's very light on instructions. Every time I select Settings the app closes.

“A bug has appeared”. Since synching the app, everytime I open it I get a message that a bug has appeared and I have to click on fridge, freezer and pantry to reload everything. Quite frustrating considering the app is otherwise great.

Waste of my time!. Spent time scanning everything and the app kept saying “expiration date missing , etc.” at the end. No clear instructions nor any intuitive options to proceed with. Time wasted!

Need categories back. Features slowly coming back, but really needs categories back, it’s sooooo important for the usefulness of the app

Great app but scan database fail for Australia. I’ve been using this app for probably a year and scan/enter after a grocery shop, especially for refrigerated perishables. The scan database for Australia used to work but in recent months it fails to lookup anything new that I haven’t bought previously so I end up having to manually enter the food product. Any fixes forthcoming please? Otherwise very useful to remind when expiry dates are coming up to use and not waste.

Support is Lacking. This app has the potential to be great however there is no password reset function so I’m now unable to access any of the information I spent hours logging. I have emailed support multiple times but have gotten nowhere.

Love it! Can express how useful this has been for me!. I struggle with impulse buying and then forgetting what I have in my fridge This has helped me use the food I have and not over buy or waste money or food My only suggestion is for things like When I open a long life soy milk I no longer have the years left on the expiry date only about a week If there was a “Ive opened this” option so the notifications jumped to say 6 days to let you know how long it’s been there that would be amazing But I love this app Very very useful for people with adhd and other non Neuro typicals who like me have a difficult time with impulse buying or memory function, not to mention the green aspect of less food wastage and so forth.

The scanner isn't working.. The scanner isn't working.

Potential, but categories are broken. App has a lot of potential, but .... The categories are broken in the latest version, (Pro version). If you try and filter by category, it displays the name originally assigned to the icon, not the new category name you created. It also adds an ’i’ after the name and ‘(null)’. The tick does not remain against the selected category. Unfortunately there are not enough icons to choose from when you create a new category so it’s impossible to create new categories with unique icons. This makes it difficult to sort. Why not have a heading before each category? Update: Thanks for the response Kasper. Looking forward to the fixes to Categories.

Keeps crashing. Downloaded this app with high hopes, added some meals in and now every time I try to open the app it crashes ☹️

Needs more features. You add in all your pantry items into the first tab and then you tap over to the shopping list....it’s empty and so you have to manually add in everything again. There should be a way for foods that are low in stock to be added automatically. The ‘essentials’ feature does nothing new. Also how much of an item is left should be displayed visually without having to tap into every item. I should see how much I have left of everything at one glance, not one by one. The slider feature for how much is left is pointless, just have one tap to mark something as low. In the shopping list, have everything in my pantry etc already listed but greyed out. Then anything that’s marked as low is not greyed and you can scroll through it and tap something to un-grey it if you want more of it or manually add in anything new yiu don’t already have.

Fantastic app - highly recommend. This app is fantastic - even when I had a little issue upgrading, the developer was quick to help me. Really appreciate it!!

Needs categories. Needs categories I can name myself within fridge freezer etc, eg: beef, chicken, cooked meals, snacks. Without this my paper inventory works better

This app is great!. Loving your app, it’s sooo helpful to keep track of what I have stashed away in my fridge, freezer and pantry. I’m using more of what I’ve got, as well as not doubling up on buying things I already have. Only thing I wish could be updated is the weight selector - can’t enter accurate weights as it’s in increments of 50, would really love if it was enabled to select any digits, or at least in increments of 5 or 10.

Disappointing!. I have an old iPad mini which sole purpose at the moment is cataloguing our freezer content. No more updates is very disappointing. Just another kick in the pants for those of us still holding onto “outdated” hardware. 1 star for the new version.

Is this app supposed to be in English?. I’m sure originally it was English but it’s not now.

Save your $$$. We tried to make it work, but so many scanned products were wrong, and then we couldn't edit them. Such a waste.

App is functional but not efficient. Qualify this by saying I am using the free version at the moment. It does the job but adding lots of items at a time is tedious on phone. For example adding multiples of same item with different due dates. iPad better but clumsy using scanner. Does the job though. Would I recommend it? Yes.

Keeps me organized. Great app that helps me keep organized and stop wasting money at the grocery store buying items I already have at home. A couple of improvements to the Category function would be helpful - ability to rename existing categories, ability to select a category grouping for the new categories I create (example add a new category for Veal to the Meat section), and ability to delete Categories that I don’t need :)

Categories. Badly needs to be able to browse each category on its own, instead of grouping on one page.....very messy.

A few features I’d love for you to add!. Loving this app! Although I think it could definitely be improved in a few areas. I’d love the option to colour code, I often find it hard to differentiate between groups, so if I could make meat red or fish blue, it would help soooo much! It would Alamo make it visually appealing, which personally adds to my enjoyment of an app. I’d also love some more personalisation if my profile, such as profile pictures. It’d be cool to also scan best before dates as well as the current barcode feature! I adore how organised the app is. Its easy to use and simple :-)

Very useful app. I like the scanning barcode feature to quickly update your records. My food waste has decreased since using this app. One minor bug is that when scanning a new item the expiry date you specify is not saved. It defaults to today and you have to edit the item and save the correct expiry date.

Turned into a subscription app.... ... with no benefit for existing pro members. I even wrote to the developer about it but got no response. App showed promise but I’ve decided not to use it.

Terrible App. Paid for upgraded app. Was finally getting the hang of it and had about 80 items in it when it suddenly when’s “white” and I cannot access it at all. Hope I can get it all back somehow.

Can’t wait for the update. Love this app and just read and watched the videos about all the new features coming in November. Great work, looking forward to it.

A few key features needed. I was so excited to see this app, and very hopeful that it would help me know what is in the endless hole that is my deep freeze. This is a good base but needs some key features updated. 1-It should be easier to take out one item from the freezer, for example if I have three pies and I take one out for dinner, there should just be a plus minus or a check box next to the pies that deducts one from the quantity. Right now it deletes the whole thing whether there are one or three. 2-it would be handy if instead of an expiry date, you could put the date it went into the freezer. That's how I work, I don't necessarily have expiry dates for everything. It's when it looks freezer burnt. 3-It is also very complicated to enter a new item, should just be item name, quantity, date entered and then a drop down 'more' if you choose to use more details. Exactly what I’m looking for!. I’ve been looking for this kind of App for a while! It is essential if you care about not wasting food. I have downloaded a lot of other apps like this months ago and none of them works for me that I even thought of maybe creating my own app instead. But months later I decided to try to look for food organizer again and I was surprised to see this and was already installed on my phone. I think it went through a drastic overhaul that it’s now just perfect! Thank you for making this! I will upgrade to the pro after posting this!

Review. As part of an assignment, i installed this app. But its very helpful for me managing food items. Really impressed.keep tracking of food,i reduced food wastage to be an extended. And i found error sometimes language has been changed and dont have any option to change language Otherwise worthful

Version 6 wiped my old data. I got an update to this today for version 6. After the update all my previous data was gone. I then checked the release notes, which say that this intentional and I need to import my previous data as long as I know my username. I don’t recall ever having a username.

Nice idea but not done well. The screen design for this app is frustrating--poorly laid out, tedious to navigate. Data entry is unnecessarily cumbersome and involves many screens and lengthy scrolling selection wheels. I regret this purchase.

Very well thought out. Well designed app that everyone should have. Our family just got a lot busier so sometimes food was going to waste. Never again!

What’s happening?. Started out loving the app, but as I kept entering items from my recent food inventory, it seemed to stop adding items. When I search for anything past a certain point all I get is a gray box. What’s happening? I do have a lot of items but I paid for premium!

All my data is lost!. Not rigourus development. I spent hours making my inventory and lost all after the updating of the app. Found after in the FB FAQ that I had to export my data..... no answer from the developper

Not bad. Would be handy if I could scan an item and add how many of that item I have instead of having to scan each can

Stressful and confusing. This app has an amazing concept but it causes more stress than relieving any. After hours of logging food, it then tripled or even quadrupled the amount of logged food. Because of Premium restrictions, it made me unable to see some, no most of the food logged. So rather than logging 1 salsa jar it created 3. Then when I select to delete the 2 other jars, it selects ALL of them.

Bar code scanner. Your data base needs work, after trying to scan a dozen different bar codes, it couldn't find any of them. Some from Canada some from the USA.

Error. Meal planning closes the app but otherwise a very functional helpful app.

Love this app. I got this app at the start of the pandemic to help me keep track of what supplies I had on hand during the lockdown. Takes a bit of time to scan/add what’s already in the cupboard, but it was worth it. Has helped me waste less food and having a place to create a meal plan is super useful. I’ve actually saved money on groceries by not overbuying/wasting.

Bug. Set amount menu on the scan feature make the application crash. Cups is in quantity and amount menu. Not useful.

Great initiative to reduce food waste. NoWaste application is a real game-changer for everyone who wants to combat the food waste issues and make more conscious decisions in the kitchen. It was good to see how well it worked with regard to waste reduction and I realized that I was throwing away less food. There is potential for making improvements by offering more recipe options and more personalization opportunities, yet NoWaste is still a worthy tool in the fight against greenhouse gas emissions arising from food wastage.

Small feature suggestion. I would like to use your app but since my iPhone is in French, the app fallback to Finnish and I can’t find how to change it back to English. Would it be possible to default to English when language is not found?

Great app!. No need to be premium user, default functionalities are doing the job for me. The interface could still be improved to be more user-friendly.

Easy tracking. I love how easy it is to add and take away food from your pantry or freezer. It makes tracking expiry dates so easy! No more food going to waste. I wish you could print out lists by category, but otherwise it’s a great app!!

My data evaporated. I painstakingly took an inventory of my entire pantry with this app. Today, lo and behold, only the item titles are listed, but the quantities are gone. Are you kidding me? I wasted a whole day for nothing. Stay away

Frustrating to use. Tried entering items in my freezer. The app would randomly delete items already added, or bulk add a bunch of items that I hadn’t chosen.

give the option to disable extra lists. i paid for premium and now i have to deal with freezer2 and freezer3 lists etc that i dont wanna use and cant disable! super annoying and inconvenient, give an option to disable them

Not enough features. This app had potential but doesnt allow you to customize categories, instead offers vague clipart. Not to easy to navigate when adding or editing foods.

Difficult to use, not user friendly. App is very messy to use, not easy to organize the items. Scanner doesn’t recognize common items. I went ahead and purchased the full version because it thought it would be better - but it definitely didn’t help. If I hadn’t paid the money I would just delete it, but since I paid money I’m going to try and make it work :(

Canadian bar codes not recognized?. I have had to manually upload pantry items as the app hasn’t recognized any of the bar codes - which sort of defeats the purpose this app. Megan

Food Waste Solution. It simplifies food management effortlessly. Its interface and timely reminders help me stay on top of my inventory, reducing waste effectively. However, the setup takes some time…but it’s worth it. It could be better if the barcode scanning is quicker.

crap 😡😡. this is the worst app i’ve ever had in my life. why do i need to pay for food AND an app that’s is supposed to help me. DONT DOWNLOAD THIS FOR UR LIFE periodt 💅🏾

Could be a lot better.. The interface is not user friendly. It takes too long to enter and search, especially if your entering multiple items. Fields are not long enough, and in many cases French descriptions pop up before English on Canadian products. It eventually serves its purpose, it keeps an inventory of your food items if you are willing to do a lot of work to track this stuff. I hope they work on fixing these issues, and then I will give it a higher rating.

Brilliant idea. My wife and I both love to cook and entertain - so we have a huge inventory of foods, spices and baking and cooking products. Knowing where items were, between multiple fridges and pantries was just as big a problem as knowing what we actually had around and was available for today’s impulsive recipe choice. NO WASTE is well on the way to making our life in the kitchen much easier. NO WASTE IS A BRILLIANT APP! While time and patience are needed for initial organization, bar code scanning and data input the resulting knowledge of what we have and where it is - is FANTASTIC. Some tweaking of the APP in future updates will increase functionality. But we LOVE it. Gracias

Migration to v6 painful. I have not been able to use this app since the upgrade to version 6. The data migration process is absolutely PAINFUL. I have to select a location for every and every single item individually. There should be better migration to make this automatic. I have emailed the developer with no response and I am now looking for an alternative app.

Excellent App for Reducing waste. This app helps fight food waste at home! Simple to use, allows you to create shopping lists and store items digitally. Cool barcode scanner saves time while adding new items. Plan delicious dinners with ingredients you already have in your home. Connect with people doing the same thing worldwide. However, keep an eye out for problematic labels, technical issues, and acceptable recipes. Still, it reduces rubbish and bucks spent...so why leave? Get it now! :)

German?. Great app but since the last update half of its in German I think... so pretty difficult

Need another folder. For the our groceries I buy infrequently I recommend another folder where I can put stuff I’ve eaten but don’t yet want on my grocery list

Doesn’t do much. Only one of 10 things I scanned worked and the app reset my quantity back to 1 no matter how many times/ways I tried to enter more. Pointless.

Excellent app.... A long-time user, really find this app excellent, easy-to-use, and offering the flexibility that I need. Seems it is continually being improved. Really like the location-specific scanning codes. Highly recommended!

I kept buying mustard. My brain was just permanently set on "Oh yeah, we need mustard!" I've gradually worked my way through the 5 accumulated bottles and have just legitimately added it to my grocery list for the first time. And I have a response for "I don't know, I'm still pretty sure we need mustard."

Terrible. Impossible to navigate without getting stuck in some dead-end. Not sure how you could take an idea so simple and make such a terrible app!

Sync just deleted all my data. At first I liked the app. It was a way to bring everything in our freezer graveyard back to life. Then my wife wanted to get access to the data and - poof - hours of categorizing and entering was deleted without ANY notification during a setup and log in on another device! The app assumes upload only instead of checking and syncing data - useless and not usability tested at all! Unless you want to pay a subscription to make paper backups of your data - be super careful with the time you spend with this app!

Couldn’t install it. Register screen wouldn’t fit on mobile phone screen. Couldn’t select ok to register.

Unfortunate. I can unfortunately not recommend this app, it’s been buggy from the start. The biggest issue I’m having so far is that I paid and bought the pro version and then set up the reminders a day in advance, but haven’t received any yet. I’ve deleted and re downloaded the app many times to try and fix the issue but no luck. Not having reminders renders the app completely pointless. I’m paying to get reminded of the food that will expire soon ! By the way, every time I’m re downloading the app I have to guess with logos how to change the language because it automatically sets it up as a foreign language that I don’t know about… very annoying.

Total money grab. I entered all my freezer items. A week later I tried to access it but it was locked. I would have to pay 8.99 to access my list. Keep the list I will find a better app. If I had the option I would give 0 stars. Today which is August 16, 2019, I open the app again and my stuff reappeared to my surprise. I’m not sure I should even close it again because the stuff might be gone again. I will re-review it in a week to see if the stuff is still there.

Wasted my time. Used this app all the time when it was on the old server, did not get any notifications it was moving this lost hours of careful documentation of my pantry. Now, trying to sign back into the app to start again and the password reset does not work. Tried making a new account and it keeps saying my email is wrong when it certainly is not. Thank you for wasting my time.

Best kitchen inventory app out there!. I’ve been looking for this kind of app to help me manage my fridge and freezer expiration dates for a long time, and I can safely say this is the best option out there. 4 stars for now, the only thing keeping it from 5 is the lack of iPhone X support. Hoping there’s an update planned to support it!

serious user interface issues but has potential if fixed. What I’m assuming are errors, show only a white screen. Messages to users are confusing and inaccurate. “Already scanned” for net new etc. Word wrap for some product name fields is required; but not available. Standard form icons (selection circle) used to mean different things. Category icons too small to be useful. Most entries require extra keystrokes/ actions that should be intuitive. Ie I scan in a item, then also have to change quantity from 0 to 1. It should be the same as If you are in grocery store; when they scan, it adds to your total. They can override the quantity if required, but by default, scanning the item means you intend to buy it. A pantry app should work the same; if I scan it, I’m putting it into my cupboard. The good stuff: Tracks expiry of food Has different locations to track & estimates expiration based on location. Ie chicken expiry in freezer vs fridge Able to search by category

horrible. I have removed the pro version from my phone. I can accept that the app does not recognize scans of products in Canadiann grocery stores, especially store-brands. I was quite okay with manually entering stuff like "green relish". But in the last few weeks, the next time I bought the same product, the app told me it was "bran bars". This sort of thing happened over and over with several items. Instead of a tool, the app was a pain in the .... I hate it that I got sucked into buying the pro version.

Food Inventory. This is the best inventory app I have used to date. Very easy to use. Like that you can section out our shelves. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone.

I am hating this App. It took me an entire day to add in my entire kitchen item into this app and when I synced my list to my phone it moved everything I had entered to eaten section and now the app won’t let me put them back in my pantry. I had to enter in the name, quantity, grams or kg and the expire date for every item. I would never recommend this app to anyone.

Complete waste of time. Put my information in twice and lost it twice. First time it let me set up an account with no email just a user name. Then it wouldn't let me log in without an email. Then after a set up a new account with an email when I tried to update the expirations on my list- my lists kept vanishing or not updating. Skip this app- it's garbage.

Lost all my saved items after the new update 😡. I have the paid version and lost all my saved items after the new update which I think they made it to turn everything into a subscription versus one time payment now this is a rip off 😡😡 Contacted the support twice with no respond😡😡😡😡😡😡

Sounds good. I would love to use the full version app. I started using the free version and then immediately ordered the upgrade but there seems to be a problem downloading the upgrade. I will start looking for another app. Too bad.

Was Good, Not Anymore. Just got the new improved version. The in-app purchase I paid for pro version is now nullified. It turned into an annual subscription. No longer worth it.

Can’t see my lists with a category. I click on a category & it says the list is empty & it doesn’t show all the items I’ve already added. Am I missing something?

Will not update. I’ve paid for the update, it will not load. I’ve removed the app and reinstalled, the update still will not load. I’ve tried it on cellular data, I’ve tried it on WiFi — it will not update. I’ve tried it on weekdays, I’ve tried it on the weekend. I’ve tried it in daytime, I’ve tried it at night. I’ve tried it in August, I’ve tried it in September. Please help me, or refund my payment.

Not recommended. I purchased the Pro Version of this app to unlock the multiple lists feature.. After rebooting my phone, all items have reverted to one list. To add to my frustration, all the data I spent hours meticulously entering was lost. The barcode scanner rarely works properly. The expiration dates are NEVER correct, not even close 99% of the time. Very dissatisfied. I’m requesting a refund.

20 copies of all my items. I purchased a yearly subscription, added a bunch of things to my Pantry, setup a user and synchronized the food. Now I have 20 copies of each item.

Needs work. This app is not intuitive to input data it lacks printing choices and the current state of the print option has errors and the price for the app is over the top compared to others so I would download it and check it out for yourself

Okay app. Would be nice to include pictures of items or make it easier to change things. Keeps popping up that there are “bugs” and issues loading items to lists. Kind of annoying.

Helpful App!. Overall it’s a pretty good app. Sometimes there’s a glitch or things weren’t proofread before adding but it does help me keep things organized.

Notifications don’t work. Notifications aren’t available in the free version so I paid for the full version. I have setup to be notified 1 day before expiration and I have enabled notifications in my iOS settings. Nothing. Without notifications, this app is worthless to me. Want my money back.

Hoping this will get better. Really liked the promise of syncing and scanning, and the UI looks slick. Receipt scanning is basically non-functional.

Needs work. Just purchased the pro version and I’m not satisfied with what I got. The idea behind it is incredible and new, but the delivery isn’t what I expected. It still needs a lot of work.

Terrible. This app is absolutely horrid. I wanted something fast and intuitive. Instead Everything I scanned wasn’t in the system and I was manually adding everything. After a fee items, I said screw it and moved on to another app. Total waste of money.

?. Does not pair to help you use products in pantry in recipes. Takes a very long time to input each pantry product, and at the end it's like what was the point?

VIRUS. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, after I download this app my iPhone SE 2nd gen started controlling itself for example: typing on its own, opening and closing apps, changing my settings,etc.

Not worth it.. I paid the fee so I could print but now I can’t get to the print button. And now there will be an update that will erase all scanned items. Total waste of money.

Wrong Expiration Dates. I wanted to love this app & it is super easy to use, but I have repeatedly seen the expiration dates be far off from what was marked on the food’s packaging. Not sure if it is because I am in the US and this was developed in Denmark.

Grade doesn’t work. I added most of my pantry, freezer and fridge items when I decided to upgrade to create additional lists. All of my items disappeared after the upgrade. There’s no help or explanation how to get them back. What a waste. Pun intended.

Wrong Expiration Times. I love the UI and it feels smooth to me. But I hate that these expiration times are inaccurate. Ketchup does not last a month in the fridge. It’s between 1-2 years even opened. Yes, you can change it but it’s a hassle to change for almost every fridge item. Flour lasts two months but if properly stored and sealed, it can last longer.

Crashes. So sad :(. Everytime I go to add the amount, app freezes and closes out. Ugh, such a great concept too.

Great app, but. I enjoyed this app for years, but stopped keeping up with it a while back and now find that I am unable to login. Several emails to support have been met with silence, so I guess I’ll find another app.

Restock list. Missing a feature to remind restocking food that is getting low. For example, if i stocked 5 dozens of egg, ate 4 dozens, 1 dozen remains then the app should add eggs to the shopping list. It should have an option to set that “low” threshold.

NoWaste. Good idea Nut needs work. Upgraded to pro but scanner doesn’t work at all. More categories more relevant icons. Hard to sort by category because basic pantry stuff like sugar, pudding, mix jello, sauces are missing and no relevant icon. Why not list by category name? Custom categories would be meaningful.

Inscrutable UI 😖. The UI of this app is positively inscrutable and it made me delete the app. The developer needs to look around at the well-established standards and customs of list maintenance in every other ios app 😠 Developer: Do not contact me or respond. I don't want to hear from you in any way other than you redoing your app UI so that it's usable.

Pro version not uploading. I purchased the pro version but the uploading goes on and on and never updates the app.

Expiration date always says today’s date.. Every time I scan an item the app displays the expiration date as today’s date. Once I add all of the items to a list (even after I correct the date), I am told they are all expired. Then I need to open each item individually and change the expiration date. Ridiculous. Deleting immediately

Awesome App!. Love the app! Only thing I would complain about is accuracy with the expiration dates. Other than that great app!

App fails. Barcode scanner doesn’t work. Functionality missing. Don’t bother downloading till next year when planned updates are released

Error messages. I continually get error messages when I try to add items. I have updated the app in hopes that it would fix the problem. It did not. My wife is having the same problems with her app. Also, when we try to update the quantity of items, it does not always save.

Hmmm. Idea is awesome! Very convenient to scan barcodes. Just what I was looking for, HOWEVER, it seems to be broken when creating an account and logging in. It’ll continuously say “Updating” and never finish, making it unusable. It works great until logging in! I’ll keep it installed for now to see if a newer version fixes it.

Works well. I like the setup and use of NoWaste. I’d like to see the database grow. I’d also like to see widgets and reminders about food approaching expiration.

Weak. It doesn’t record when items have been consumed. Their names is not fully showing. Not sure if it isn’t erasing products from places. Not worth it.

Lost all info. Like others, I exported my info as instructed but when I tried to update my app, I just get errors. Trying to reset my password just hangs forever. I don’t usually pay for apps. This is why.

App works...then doesn’t. I loaded all of my food into this app only to get an error message saying that the data can’t be read and now I can’t see any of my items.

Lousy support. Purchased this app and spent a lot of time inputting. Then got locked out of the app. Requested support multiple times with no response. Asked again (3rd or 4th request) to be told they deleted my inventory. Claimed an email was sent but we never received one. Someone needs to refund my costs. Zero trust in pro version. Deleted.

Erased two hours of work.. I scanned 347 items. 3 hours later, if deleted my entire entry. I paid for the one time unlimited fee. Very low price. Disappointed.

Very difficult to use. Video dhows how to add to catogories snd add food but doesn’t work No + symbol as shown video. Always wants to scan which is silly. Wasted my money on pro. Dont buy!!!

Just stared using this app, will review later. Are you working with stores to scan the receipt to automatically add all items purchased at once and then all is needed is to add expiration dates? Thus removing the laborious effort of scanning every item one at a time.

Poor customer service.. Initially I thought this was going to be great and it was for a while. Then we moved. I went from having 2 refrigerators, 3 freezers 2 pantry’s to having 1 of each. I texted and emailed twice on how to delete a freezer. No response. Then I deleted app to start over and now the app wants me to pay again. Unless I get a response. I will go look for another app

Where is my inventory. I keep on getting a solid white screen when I click on an item in my inventory. I’ve now scanned my spices 3 times and I still have NOTHING in my inventory. I want my $5.99 back. This is absolutely useless. I’m wasting time rescanning the same thing over and over. Supposed to save me time and money. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!

Great but needs improvement. Best app of this caliber, just needs to fix the minor bugs.
