Guess what, iPad crew? Split-screen is here! You can now simultaneously watch your Skillshare class while using another app to follow along. We're working hard to make life easier for creatives like you to multitask productively—stay tuned for more improvements!
Just earlier today the Skillshare app was driving me slightly crazy not being able to split screen. By chance I happened to glance at the app updates and pow, an update that finally(!) solves this very thing. You just made this app ten times more useful.
I have a transaction dispute, I want to resolve.
So far I like the app, though I have only been using it for about a week. I wish I could access all the class resources from the app instead of logging in on my web browser.
So many great tutorial videos! The videos are easy to follow along with and so informative!
I love her class have to stop it often in order to catch up. she goes a little bit too fast, but she is a wonderful teacher and adorable I don’t know how to work this very well. I’m looking for the place to thumbs up and can’t find it. but anyway thank you for offering this I like it very much. ......When she suggest a color, not everyone Has all the colors. When she says indigo blue, she should give an alternative like dark blue or green blue or something. Not everyone has indigo blue. Thanks for the great class. LindaFenner
This is a good platform
This program is a perfect way to practice, learn and grow.
Don't download this app, they will fool you to get your money. they said one month free, but then they charged me !!!
I’ve been seeing sponsored bits for Skillshare on youtube for years now and finally decided to take the plunge. I really wish I jumped in sooner. So far, I’ve greatly enjoyed the classes, especially the illustrative techniques. Even though I’m very familiar with all sorts of art theory, sometimes just watching someone’s process and technique is really informative. When I’m not learning something new, I’m being inspired by the incredible artists. So far, my only gripe is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to add reviews from the app, and when I go to edit my profile there isn’t an option to upload a photo, so I’m stuck on the default blank head. But, I realize that this could totally be user error so I’m not knocking off any stars. Overall, I really like the app. It’s easy to search for classes, save videos, etc. I find the quality of the classes to be very high and some are on par with the topics that were covered in the art college I went to. The three classes I’ve watched so far are clearly taught by professionals. When my trial runs out, I’ll happily pay the subscription fee.
The SkillShare service is really good and has lots of great content. I think it is worth the fee. The app on the other hand seems like it is in a beta state. Some of the UI does not work. Very few features vs the website. The one good thing about the app is the ability to watch content offline.
I started with a free trial for a moth and really did enjoy the classes and I thought it was very useful to the kind of work I do. After a month, was quite happy to go for a full year premium subscription. After I’ve been charged, I lost my access to the videos and it constantly asking me to go premium which I should already have. So I contacted support exchanging email, then suddenly no reply and issues still unresolved. I understand that there is 30 days for me to claim my refund after the payment has been processed but I feel like days are going by and I am not getting any resolution for this. I wanted it to be resolved but I guess I need to uninstall this. I had sent emails asking for how 8 can get refunded but still no reply. I guess I will need to contact my bank if no one else can help me or tell me my next step.
Skillshare is a fantastic resource with thousands of courses to watch at your leisure. I only pay something like $20.00 per month which gives me access to all the courses, now you will be surprised on the variety of topics covered in the Skillshare courses. I just love all the things I can learn, watch on PC, IPad, IPhone any smart device really. You can Download Courses to you Smart Phone or PC to watch when you don’t have Internet Access. Skillshare are always updating their App with new Tools & Features To make it better for you. Great fo learn new things, Self Educating Yourself is Fantastic & you learn at your own pace. “A Formal Education will get you a Career, Self Education Can Make You Ritchie” Great Resource, Never had a Problem with it, Try it out , You will love it. PS-If you have a skill , craft , a trade, something you know how to do well, you can make your own Course, put it up on Skillshare and start making a side income.😃
Skillshare is absolutely amazing, unfortunately I just updated the app and it crashes as soon as I open it. I hope it is fixed soon as Skillshare really is incredible and I loved being able to watch classes when I was out. Please fix it!! ( the newest update 1st May is still not working and crashes immediately upon opening)
They instead charged me $40 for an extra month in advance. Will be demanding a refund. I have only trialed the services for a single day.
Skillshare has provided me with the flexibility to learn when it suits my schedule, in turn boosting my desire to both diversify and further my skill set. I happily will recommend Skillshare to everyone and anyone!
Great watercolour art classes, well presented and easy to follow for a newbie painter!
I can’t believe with such a great website comes with such a poorly made app. It constantly freezes and videos won’t play properly unless mobile reception is perfect. The interface is awkward and everything loads so slowly. Because I mostly wanted to learn when commuting, this app makes it very difficult for me to stay. It is a real shame because it’s such a good platform and the app is such an essential part of user experience. I will cancel my membership after the free trial unless there are major improvements made to this app.
This community of teaching and learning is amazing. I’ve heard of Skillshare around YouTube, hearing artists bring it up here and there but I never really paid any mind to it. Until, my interests in learning art myself such as portraits which I really enjoy perked me. So I decided to click on the link and try it out. Pretty much the best decision I made. I’ve only upgraded to the premium subscription today and I’ve been studying for hours. The classes are great, super nice community, the app i rate a 5 star. I love the recommendations and how you can pick what you’re interested in to present you more like them. I could never get enough of this. Amazing app, I love it :))
Five stars for Skillshare, three stars for this app. App needs major improvement. The search function does not allow to narrow down to classes released this week, this month, etc. like the web version does. Even if we could see the most recently released would be better. I cannot save any classes either, the bookmark does not work. When watching a class, the tiny little area to scroll down to other videos and info. is too small and awkward to scroll through. It feels constricted. Skillshare is fantastic - but this app is letting the platform down. I am so disappointed. I’ll go back to using the web version, not this useless app. (I am using an iPad Pro 1st Generation, iOS 12.2). Hopefully the developer will improve the app soon.
I was first introduced to Skillshare through Jenna Moreci, Cyborg Queen and Indie-Author of The Saviours Champion (she has two classes here just so you know!) I couldn’t be happier with the classes. It’s perfect to learn at your own pace (even standing on a train) and to improve your skills in anything artistic. I’ve got classes for writing, photography, painting, marketing... and there is so much more in the banquet I haven’t tried yet. Do it today and learn something extraordinary.
Sadly I can’t open the app since updating...it crashes on open on both iPad and iPhone...please fix - a paid a subscription fee and want be able to use it.
This app is amazing but some videos give you just about the same info as a YouTube tutorial. Some of the teachers you could tell that English wasn’t their first language so subtitles would help. Overall I’d recommend it
Having access to skill information at the top of your fingers is phenomenal. Youtube, is great, but if you want to spend less time searching and scrolling, then use Skillshare. A lot of the information here will not be given for free. Using Skillshare, you are getting it for a fair price. Plus, it is so simple and easy to use.
Absolutely love this app and platform! I’ve improved and learned so much about my craft, I may start teaching on Skillshare! This platform is amazing! The all however could use some improvements, I love the fact that you can download classes to watch offline. However, I don’t love that you can’t access the about section of the class page from the app. You have to go online to do so.
Found Skillshare by watching my favorite YouTube artist Chloe Rose! Love her classes as well as from other artists such as Tom Bancroft and Gabrielle Brinkley. Watch during my plan period at school. Perfect little classes in all my areas of interest! Try it out—I highly recommend it!
I signed up for a free trial, which I canceled. I was still charged for the $99 annual membership, which I was informed at the beginning of the trial would be $14.99 monthly.
In just 6 months of having this app, I’ve learned how to play piano, design websites, invest in stocks, etc. I’m grateful to have this is app and would it to anyone
THIS APP OR SOMEONE FROM THIS APP TRIED SWIPING MY CARD FOR $200 GOT THE CONFIRMATION FROM MY BANK ACCT! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!
Amazing and lovely content. Make video cast available so when can cast on our TVs pretty please..
It’s an easy and accessible platform feeding my curiosity toward any idea!
Really great collaborative environment!! Perks with the premium package are amazing
I've been using Skillshare on my pc for the past year and I upgraded to pro for a year. Just got the app today. Love it so far, so user-friendly and inviting. Can't wait to do even more classes. Thanks skillshare, you are amazing :)
Really good idea!
I've watched two classes so far and am impressed.
