The applications Skillshare - Online Classes was published in the category Education on 2014-12-02 and was developed by Skillshare, Inc.. The file size is 55.89 MB. The current version is 4.5.13 and works well on 10.0 and high ios versions.
As a Skillshare user, you’re probably someone who is always trying to learn new things. We applaud you! And we want to help you build that learning habit, so we send you an occasional notification when we have a class we think you’ll love.
In this update, we make it even easier to opt-in to our push notifications. You’ll either see a new prompt on your Home screen or you can check Settings to make sure you’re receiving notifications.
We also fixed a few issues. For example, we know when you’re a premium member, but sometimes the app would forget and show the wrong state in Settings. It remembers now!
My review is for the app itself. I really enjoy Skillshare as a whole. I’m a paying subscriber and do A LOT of art/creative classes where there are project assignments and it’s a pain to not be able to easily upload photos directly from phone to the mobile app. AND recently can no longer get to my project resources or the project tab on the mobile app. I don’t want to have to go to a web browser, that’s a big part of what an app is for! I see recently the focus on your iPhone X subscribers, but please, these seem to be basic issues that reach a wider range of subscribers. I think this would increase posted projects, and I’m guessing this is an advantage for your class teachers as well.
Another one of those subscription to use things don’t download it’s a waste of space
Can’t sign in.
Most of the app works okay, but when I try to load one of my projects, the app always crashes. I have to load it from the website. Kind of defeats the purpose, especially when the website keeps reminding you to install the app instead.
It’s a great app to learn new things in the creative world. However, I wish there was a way to digitally write and save notes as the classes are teaching. Right now I’m learning with no notebook at sight at the moment while trying to put a 3 month old to sleep. I would love to have a way to take notes down without sneaking off to my office. Just a thought!
Did a free trial. It was decent info but nothing you cant find on youtube. Decided to stick with it to support the company and use recreationally. They ended up charging me a whole year up front.. Emailed several times to resolve and go month-to-month but there’s been no response. Would like to cancel conpletely.
With no speed feature on the app it makes viewing classes cumbersome and slow. It’s great for browsing selections but that’s about it.
For the amount that I have been billed I could’ve taken a class with a professional and not dealt with a buggy app. I thought I canceled within the trial but I didn’t, and they were unwilling to help at all. Not worth it in my opinion.
iPad and iPhone Apps clunky and unpolished. Such a shame as I love Skillshare as a learning tool but basically only usable on a PC. Forget about sitting down at your TV, the Apps don't even have a send to Apple TV function. And if you want to mirror content, forget that too, rotating a full screen rotates the entire image on your TV. Please polish things up guys, else back to Udemy for me.
As others have stated, they will charge you for a year at an exorbitant rate if you forget to cancel before the end of your free trial. A reminder email could have been sent before the payment was taken. Skillshare want nothing to do with refunding. This is a rip off. I certainly do not recommend.
Just scaled version from the previous generation of iphone. The website is better.
They charge you for an exorbitant amount for a FULL year subscription if you don’t cancel before the end of the “free subscription”! Luckily Apple support are aware this had been an issue for other people and refunded. But I actually would have been interested in case better content came on the app (not a lot that is relevant for everyone) if it hadn’t felt like such a scam and an awful shock. Felt robbed! I see this has been an issue for others.
Don’t even bother to use free trial.
The app has been crashing upon loading
There is some great content on there, but—the app feels very neglected. The iPhone app still hasn’t been updated for iPhone X and the iPad app STILL doesn’t have iPad Pro support for the 12.7” screen size nearly 3 years after its introduction. I’m hoping this delay is because they’re working on a big awesome update. I did pay for a full year but that was after seeing it on the web, after seeing the state of the iOS updates I wish I hadn’t.
I downloaded this up and started a 30 day free trial to see if I would find it beneficial. After 2 days I decided that this app is not for me. To my utmost discussed, I have been charged $144.99 to my credit card. I’ve tried contacting the Skillshare help team via the link but it does not work. HOW THE HELL DO I GET MY MONEY BACK?! I am so frustrated that funds have been taken from my account before the end of the trial period. I have also unsubscribed.
It is much more organized than a random you tube class. The details are also greater. I really saves money and time.
I find the app to crash and be a bit slow sometimes. Other than that, great
The latest update has caused the app to crash before it will even open all the way.
But I’m still waiting for the iPhone X update because the two black bars on the top and bottom make the app look not so good. More detailed settings are preferred also.
- This app is not optimized for the iPad Pro. It is scaled up and feels awkward to use on the 12.9” - Not responsive, I have to tap on the video thumbnail to open a class, tapping the table cell doesn’t work - The app asked me to rate it within the first 3 minutes...not enough time to have used the app. Seriously why ask for my thoughts immediately, at least wait until I’ve had a chance to use it and maybe you’ll get better reviews.
I already paid for the premium 1 year but the classes I’m still locked out from the classes I needed to take! And it’s still asking me to take a free trial; does it not know that I already enrolled?! Where’s my premium benefits, and where did my info and money go? So yeah, I can’t rate it unless it does what it’s supposed to do.
I used a two month free trial of Skillshare for 99 cents and without any warning today they charged me $99 for a year subscription. I did not want to get Skillshare Premium and the two month trial is a scam because they took a full year's subscription without asking me if I would like to continue using their product. They also charged me in the middle of the night which to me is just sketchy. This is the first time I have ever written an app review, I only say this to emphasis how mad and upset I am at this company. I am trying to fight to get my money back but who knows if that is going to happen.
I have used this for my paracord hobbies, my 3d printer, and my self authoring dream!
The classes are amazing but I feel like it would be better if it had a casting option other then that an amazing app.
Go to udemy or YouTube or something. You shouldn’t have to pay just to learn... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME
I think this would be amazing app if only the videos have subtitles. This inconsideration of the deaf community took away 3 stars.
Such a diversity of skills taught this is a benefit for the seasoned artist to hone skills or the curious to pick up something new. I’m a retired teacher with a fine arts degree. This is just what I needed to jumpstart my love of creating.
Really great collaborative environment!! Perks with the premium package are amazing
I've been using Skillshare on my pc for the past year and I upgraded to pro for a year. Just got the app today. Love it so far, so user-friendly and inviting. Can't wait to do even more classes. Thanks skillshare, you are amazing :)
Really good idea!
I've watched two classes so far and am impressed.
I love the concept of this app but I have purchased the premium subscription and still do not have access to all of the classes I was promised. I have deleted and downloaded the app multiple times and nothing has changed. Please fix this fault so that I can learn!
On a paid subscription and can not finish a video because it keeps crashing. iPhone x
I use Skillshare on an iPad, Apple TV and on my computer, and the videos always take a long time to load, or they just stop loading at all. I have fast internet (by South Africa’s standards) and I have no trouble playing YouTube videos or Netflix. So this is a Skillshare specific problem. Please add the option to reduce the quality of videos so that we can load them quicker.
Skillshare is an incredible platform where anyone can learn, share or teach a skill. It's remarkable how they encourage all the users to become teachers as well. The feedback & engagement is great! A remarkable idea, platform & application to up skill the world. Thank you.
This class is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I am so grateful for this app. I have been looking around for affordable art, illustrate, design classes. Now that I found Skillshare, I have enjoyed the classes that I have taken. The classes is broken up in short clips which allows one to view it over slow bandwith which helps. I can recommend this to any creative individual who might not have had the opportunity to have formal training in their creative area of interest. To the Skillshare team and all the lecturers know that you are making a massive difference by providing these video clip courses. All the best!
Thanks to the guys from Wild Rabbit for a good piece on aerial filming using the DJI Phantom Vision Plus.
Already loved the Skillshare site, the app is perfect too.
