Read the description! Great app. I had a plant in my yard I couldn’t identify on three other apps. I had an answer about a half hour after I submitted it with this app. The free coins to start with are super useful! Turns out it’s a hollyhock so I won’t cut it down!

FlowerChecker app. Tried the app and really like it. I sent about 8 what I would call difficult flowers to identify and I had all but 1 named within a day. I'll be using this app a lot. Highly recommend.

Great app have suggestion to make it better. Would the botanist be able to give advice for unhealthy plants? For example plants that lack certain nutrients, over watered etc. I think this app would be much more popular if it could.

Does exactly what it says it will do. So far has identified 5+ flowers correctly each in under 24 hours. You can narrow down categories to garden plant, wild plant, indoor plant, mushroom, moss, or lichen. You get a few credits to start and subsequent credits are reasonably priced. Great app for this newbie gardener!

IF I HAD KNOWN. Would never have purchased IF I HAD KNOWN...... You have to access my Google Account to use, responses take up to 24 hours AND each inquiry is at an additional cost

Wow!. I wish I could give this app more than 5 stars! I have been racking my brain and blowing up Google trying to identify 2 trees that popped up in my backyard. I sent a picture of a leaf for one of them and a wider shot for the other. I checked after a day or two and there were my answers. I am perplexed as to how a Mulberry & Edleberry tree ended up in my yard but glad I know due to growth habits. The cost to identify my two trees was only $.99 each (2 coins). What a deal! Thank you so much for developing this app, it's a winner!

Have to use Google. I hate that I can’t use this app without logging into my Google account. I don’t like doing that and there’s no way around it. They should’ve put that in the description because I would’ve never purchased it.

Impressive service. Although I am familiar with many plant/fungus species, there are still some (a lot!) I don't know. Happy to say that I have never won at "Stump the Botanists"; always they have come through for me, even with scarce, hard to identify specimens. Suggestion: it would be helpful to be able to upload more than 3 photos (i. e., leaf, flower, fruit, bark, growth habit). Thanks for all your hard work, plant scientists!

Pay and then pay again. So I figured that for 99 cents even if I didn't like the app I wasn't out that much money. I am out 99 cents. Perhaps this is a new tactic in making money on apps. I am suspicious of every "free" app and I check the "in app purchases" list very carefully. I'll call it my bad on this one for being taken in by all the five star reviews and not reading over the details in detail. On the other hand this app should have been free, with "in app purchases" via buying coins. So--Note first that this is not snap a picture and find out what the plant is. Your photo will be analyzed by someone (time frame?) Not what I was expecting. Second is coin payment. I run away as fast as I can from this. In short, it's not snap and identify. Plus coin payment on top of paying for the app. I'm not saying it may not be worth it, but learn from my mistake before you buy.

Great app!. In our flowerpot full of dead flowers and not much else came this beautiful plant that we could not identify. I spent a lot of time googling aspects of this plant and could not come up with what it was. I found this app while looking how to identify plants, so I downloaded it not thinking much would come of it but it was worth a try. I sent a few pictures and in a day I revived answer to what plant we had growing. This was a super easy app that I suggest to all those who love plants.

Quick and accurate identifications!. I recently moved to a house with a wide assortment of plants unfamiliar to me. Instead of laboring through thick picture books or using ineffective computer-recognition apps, this sends a few photos to a team of botanists for accurate, personalized identification. Brilliant app, great execution! (one minor improvement would be to allow asynchronous uploads of identification requests so I can snap off a bunch at a time without having to wait for each upload to complete)

Worth every penny and every minute waiting. My husband and I are self taught plant lovers. We generally know our own local flora. But when we travel we observe magnificent new species. Sometimes we can sleuth and accomplish a confident identification. Sometimes we need help. We love having the expert assistance of the botanists who work with flower checker. With our additional research 100% of the identifications received have been correct. Worth every penny and every minute waiting!!

Read the entire app before buying. .99 gets you 3 identifications. After that you pay for each identification.

Could not identify on first use:(. I sent the pictures as requested, answer, “unable to identify” !!! What? Isn’t this what you do??????

Must Authenticate With Google. I refuse to use any app that requires authentication via Google or some other 3rd party. There seems to be no other way to use this app. I want my 99 cents back.

It’s progress!. I submitted a plant for review and was given the identification of the specimen, within less than a Twenty-four hour period. The review was apparently conducted by three live Botanist, at which I find to be humbling and at the same time hope to be the real deal. The team of Botanist gave me what seemed to be an honest 90% accuracy rating upon diagnosis of the species in question. I will continue to support this app, as long as certified real live botanist are getting the compensation they need and deserve. If that means they’re getting paid for their time, or just the experience of practicing Botany in a cool new way. This app has great promise! Thank you for your time! Sincerely, The User

Easy and fast for getting tough plants ID'ed. I am a botanist myself, but we all get stumped now and then, especially by strange cultivars. I had been asked to ID a plant with neither flowers nor fruits (not ideal) from Los Angeles. I submitted a photo to FlowerChecker and had an answer (that I confirmed!) in under 24 hours. The people behind the app are extremely kind and responsive as well as good at their job. The app is simple to use too. Definitely 5 stars. If I had one small complaint, it's just that the alert (that a message arrived) sometimes led to...no message displayed. Later, it would be visible. Not sure if that's operator error though).

Terrific app and great support from botanist experts. One of the best apps I have.

Follow-up... work flow isn't polished yet. I was pretty thrilled with the initial purchase. I liked the back story on the developers, and I really like the idea of learning about plants. The app works very well on submittal. You can take multiple pictures. I wish there was a comment box, but I use the Request Title field to jot down notes about height and location. The issue I have is one of my first requests was returned unresolved. I wrote to their info email and gave them the result of my research. See, I want to have FlowerChecker be an index to all my plants and who wants "unresolved". I got a quick reply explaining they couldn't change the case (development item!) and to resubmit (because my guess was close and the email exchanged zeroed on the right plant). But when I resubmitted, I got another Unresolved. So now I have two. :( And I guess I've become a PiTA to them as my email go unanswered. So I really like their business model and back story, but this sort of thing has to be "perfect" to really make my heart sing.

Sorry, but a bit bunk. I posted a photo of a plant, gave its location and a bit of background on what it was labeled as but how U believed it was mislabeled. The app ultimately told me it couldn't identify the plant; meanwhile within that 24-hour period I managed to identify it myself. Sorry, but not worth the download.

Used to be so helpful! What happened ?. So I’ve been using this app for at least two years now. Lately, they have not been able to identify all but one of my inquiries. I always include clear photos & my location. I used to really love this app. I certainly don’t mind 99 cents for an ID in less than 24 hours. When an inquiry comes back as “unresolved” no credits are used. This means if it’s not resolved, you don’t spend a credit (99cents). That’s good, however, I really am disappointed, as it’s super obvious it’s gone down hill.

A waste. You pay for the app and then you need to spend coins to get your answers. Submitted two IDs and got one answered and one unresolved. Not impressed.

Not Good. They couldn’t even identify a simple plant. Nickname: “Hen and Chick”

Shame on you!. I have tried several free apps and seen this one for $0.99 because it’s in my budget, not only do you want more money but you want total access to my Google account.... For what purpose do you truly need to have total access my Google account? If I don’t let you use it then I don’t get to use you even though I paid for you I don’t think so give me my money back and we will call it good

Fast and accurate. I used this app last spring to identify a pesky weed I had growing at an old house. I got an answer within 30 mins and it was spot on. My family moved to a new house about a month ago and now, with it being Spring, we have many plants growing. I just used this app a little bit ago to identify 3 plants and got answers within 10 mins. I'm beyond excited to have this help me figure out all the new plants in my new yard!

Perfect. It takes less than 24 hours to get plant recognized. Never got wrong answer. Glad that botanist get paid for their service. Way cheaper than having botanist coming to your place and start identifying random plants.

Don’t recommend this app.. Don’t recommend. Sent in one photo of a flower to be identified. A legitimate botanist should be able to identify with flower only. Did not have pictures of the rest of the plant. Misidentified.

Waste of money. Don't bother with this app. The so-called "botanists" often can't identify the images posted. You're better off posting for free in the Dave's Garden plant identification forum where you'll get fast accurate identification of plants from other gardeners around the world.

Helps a lot. Just moved to a new house with lots of weeds, some of which looked like they could be poison ivy. This helped to identify questionable weeds in a very timely manner.

Great app. I uploaded a picture of a weed from my front yard and got an answer in about 30 minutes. I had spent about 20 minutes before that trying to figure out the weed myself and got nowhere, so was so happy this app worked and it was so fast. And also appreciate that the price is reasonable for this service.

Just Like it Says!. Sent 4 pictures and got 4 answers in the same day (probably faster but I didn't check). First 3 are free then it's about $1.00 per answer. Well worth it!

Three out of three!. This app has been great so far. I confirmed my three plant identification requests with gardener friends later and the app had the names right. For a neophyte plant person like me, I would highly recommend this app.

Pretty great. This app has been really helpful for plant identification. It's currently my favourite app. As far as cost is concerned, it's cheap, supports botanists, and feels worth the tiny expense. Why shouldn't we be willing to pay for knowledge and expertise? We pay for the knowledge of doctors and lawyers. Scientists should be valued for their knowledge and experience as well.

Paid for incorrect information with no way to challenge or get my coin back.. Not sure this is worth it. It just seems someone in the other end is guessing. All my requests were incorrect and marked resolved 🙄

Quite good. Overall quite good. Have used for several plants at my new house. Only one not identified. Would be cool if there were a 'retry' feature. another suggestion would be to create more standardization in how answers are submitted. Some have posted multiple helpful links, other times just the plant name and a Wikipedia link. Regardless, valuable service, happy to pay for it.

Do not buy this App!!!!. It's a scam! Once you purchase the App, you have to use coins to get each identification and if they cannot identify it the first time, you have to use another coin to upload more information. You only receive 3 coins, upon purchase of the app, so you will have to purchase more coins in the future. I have already used 2 of my 3 coins on one plant, only to receive an identical answer, which was "need more information". I uploaded more photos and detailed information the second time, so I don't know what else they need??!! My guess is they continue this back and forth, so you are forced to purchase more coins.

Beware, will cost more after you purchase. Deleted app same day I purchased. After paying for the app, had to pay in "coins" that cost $. to get answer to question. There was no mention of the additional costs before purchase of app.

Waste of money. First of all you get three free options "coins" to identify three plants. After your 3 coins are used, you will have to pay to continue using the app identifier. The app has 24 hours to resolve. It never was able to identify my plant of a pic I uploaded. Complete joke.

The BEST!!!. I am so happy to have found this app - they are so quick to respond! The price is totally reasonable - my local county extension office suggested I BRING in the plant and they would identify at a cost of $20.00 per plant. No way! Some of the plants I need identified I only have one growing in my garden. We moved to this house last fall - the entire back yard is a huge garden. I'm trying to sort out the weeds and invasive plants from the good ones.

Disappointed. Waited 24 hours to have them tell me they couldn't ID a plant and then asked me for more money to ID a different plant. Waste of money.

Not really free. I tested this app by uploading a picture of a plant I already had identified. I had to use (or get?) a coin before I even knew whether they had correctly identified the plant. They did correctly i identify it. But I don't like the pay aspect or the wait to get in and then if Acacian. On the plus side, another app I tried that did picture comparison was unsuccessful

Great App. Used it quite a bit and they have been spot on each time. Definitely most accurate identification app out there.

Expensive. My plants were identified quickly and accurately. Unfortunately, you only get three ID's for the 99 cents you pay for the app. All remaining ID's cost $1 unless you purchase 20 for $15, which means you're still paying $.75 for each ID. Might as well buy a book and look them up yourself. Neat idea, might be worth it if each ID was $0.10.

No luck for me. App was easy to use but plant wasn't able to be identified. Might be a good app for non-gardeners. Might be useful for identifying common plants. Disappointed as this could have been a great tool.

Best App On My Phone. This is the most useful app on my phone! I would otherwise have no chance of being in contact with an actual botanist for help with plant identification. Thank you for properly identifying my Cat Whiskers plant!
