Decent, but there’s much to be desired. First off, when I first downloaded the app I thought that the coach would be an actual person, and was a little disappointed that it’s an automated bot. However, I do like that it’s more personalized than other basic apps and actually takes into account my habits and averages so it doesn’t feel like I’m following a super basic pattern or plan. I don’t like how basic some of the features are, especially the food tracking. The input is very basic, which means there’s a LOT of room for error as far as ingredients and calories go. I know the point of the app is to not focus specifically on calorie counting, but when you’re actually trying to lose weight it’s vital that you track them to an extent, and it’s just not possible to do that with the current interface. I find myself doing the bare minimum food tracking with Lark, then going to another free fitness app to actually track my food and calories. Lastly, I think the “mindful check-ins” could be improved GREATLY by just including more options for answers rather than just good, ok, or not good. The options are way too vague to actually log and track my mood and to try to make improvements. If you’re looking to make changes by developing habits without tracking a ton of details or stats, this app is perfect. But if you’re trying to seriously follow a goal or lose a good amount of weight, you’re better off with a different app.

No shaming. I tried Lark on a whim following an invite from my insurance company. I have never been one to diet or exercise much, but using the Lark gives me the accountability I need without shaming me for what I ate or lack of activity. In the past few weeks that I have been using the app, I have noticed some changes in how/what I do to be healthier. The app is very easy to use and I love that it has pre-generated replies making it even easier to use. There are even reminders, throughout the day to help keep you focused. I was busy and missed a couple check ins but still NO judgment. I look forward to seeing how I can improve my health.

Almost Too Automated. The AI makes the app super easy to use, get registered, check to see if your insurance plan covers the cost of the program and to order a free digital scale! All of that is incredibly easy. But there are drawbacks. The app is buggy. I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro Max so and sometimes when I bring up the app, the screen freezes for a few (3-5) seconds and then will eventually move to the chat screen. I slept 6.5 hours and somehow it recorded 9.5 hours of sleep. Logging food is clunky. Compared to MyFitness Pal, there just are not enough options to input what you ate and the AI will make some wacky interpretations. It logged 45 calories for water! In the long run, I think I will get used to the quirks, but I will constantly be hoping for improvements.

Waste of time. I have had the Lark app for 2 months and it has never worked correctly. My Fitbit would not sync. So the “coach” kept telling me to move more. I reached out to support and they did respond. Support contacted me and it was the same solution repeatedly. To uninstall and reinstall the app to disconnect and reconnect my Fitbit. Support even told me they have a new update and it won’t solve my problem but it is best to have the latest version. I even set it to ask me for my pedometer steps so I could enter the information myself. The “coach” only asked me twice. There is no where for you to input this information. You can only do it if you are asked. Maybe the “coach” got confused with all the uninstall and reinstall that was happening. The “coach” is just automated responses. Everyday it told me to eat more whole grains and vegetables. That has been my Lark experience. No I would not recommend it to anyone.

Determined to use, but not a fan especially after losing data. Update: Lark lost all my meal data and another week of activity data for a second time at the end of the third week of using. I have used this app for a little over two weeks now. I received my free smart scale this week, but am still waiting for information regarding the free FitBit (for the diabetes prevention program). Chat style interface is annoying and slow even on the fastest setting. I hated this interface on Sydney and I’m glad the developers moved away from it there. Please get rid of it here as well. Also the app seems to lose data at random. I lost all my meal data for over a week (21+ meals worth), two days of sleep data (not even the most recent days - 2 consecutive days from about a week ago), and activity data for 5 days (all the days from the past week that I didn’t lose sleep data for). This is a pretty big problem since the utility of this kind of app is directly tied to the quantity and quality of data entered. Smart scale came preconfigured and uses a cellular connection so it is tied to this app which is sort of disappointing and frustrating not knowing where this data is being sent or stored. Bluetooth would have been a much better choice, but it was free. Could not provide developers direct feedback because it requires the default Apple mail app which I uninstalled because I use the Gmail app.

Better Than Noom. Even though I’ve just used this app 4 days, it seems much better than Noom! It walks you through daily what meals you’ve had and your activities. It asks easy-to-answer questions to walk you through your day and advises you on steps to take to live a healthy lifestyle and it’s FREE!!! The one downside that I’ve noticed so far is that they send you a scale quickly, however, they don’t send your Fitbit or other item that goes with your program until you can prove you are using the program effectively. What if someone needs that item to more efficiently complete the program, like count steps? Overall, I believe this works and takes minimal time daily. Definitely worth it!

Few Changes Needed. The app is great and I fully get the concept of the check ins and the constant communication. I love this feature. What I would love to see is a way for me to type something other than the pre typed message. It should use the same concept as when you enter meals which I love because of no counting and measuring. The second change I would ask for is a way to look at the missions or save information. There was a suggesting to read and article and when I went back to view the conversation it was gone. I also wanted to look at my mission list and it was no where to be found. There should be a way to save it to your notes. I feel if I don’t instantly do something Lark suggests I miss the chance. I would have given it five stars if I could do those two things.

Program review. I like the overall program. I got my scale in a reasonable time. I’ve been logging in and doing everything it ask & I have lost some weight. I still have not received my pedometer. And I can’t seem to find out how long do I have to wait before I get that. I think it would be good if they gave it out sooner to help in motivating the individual. I do wish they had an area where they let a person pick out a specific work out that they did and let someone type it in. For some reason every once well it’ll ask me to pick a day to weigh in, which I have already done. It does help me be accountable and I have been able to adjust some of my habits. I am a work in progress!

Love this App!. I don’t usually rate apps, but I really felt the need to with this one. After using the app for 3 weeks, I have to say that I am hooked. I used to use BodySpace which is just mediocre especially in terms of its plans for women. This app somehow has a way of keeping me accountable. It has a lovely layout and I love checking off each exercise as I go. I love that it tells you how much you lifted on that particular exercise last time; I have been upping mine to challenge myself. I feel amazingly accomplished and extremely tired after Linn Lowes awesome program. Best I’ve done in a long time and I’ve tried many plans and fitness apps. Now I have completely moved away from BodySpace. I hope they continue to grow and add more... I’m excited to see!

Change habits and the way you think. I’ve been using Lark for a couple of weeks now and overall, I like it! I don’t currently have a Fitbit or the like, so I like that it can use the health data from my phone for activity. I also like the way it looks at your diet as healthy, unhealthy, and mixed - as a combination of choices. It feels less boxed in and restrictive than being meticulous about counting calories and portion sizes, but I can see the pattern of my choices, and instinctively want to improve to more green. I wish that there was somewhere to input medical conditions - I have no way to let the AI know that I have anxiety and that’s why my sleep may not be optimal so four hours on a high stress day is actually very good for me, or that I have food allergies, so will not be trying to eat more of whatever. There is a notes section though, so I’ve been marking that up so when I review, I can say oh yeah, this is what was going on there. And I’m down about five pounds just from getting a little more active and making better choices and that is always encouraging.

Meh 🤷🏻‍♂️. The concept is cool. I want to like this application but for one that uses AI to disseminate information, it doesn’t seem too intelligent. Why can’t the user input their own responses and ask questions on health, wellness and nutrition related matters? Frankly, interacting with the “Coach” becomes quite boring. Also, the scale seems a bit off. One typically is lighter in the morning over evening and it weighed me around 5 lbs less in the evening one week. (This type of fluctuation has occurred frequently.) Well, according to the scale yesterday, I gained that all back last week. There’s no conceivable way that happened, not with my nutrition plan and what I know I ate and logged. I have no illness to cause it nor taking any meds that would. I know weight fluctuates but not in the patterns this scale has shown. So, I double checked my weight at my fitness center and actually lost .7 lbs for the week, which is realistic. I’m going to change the batteries in hopes that’s the issue. So my overall opinion at this point, is the idea is awesome but I hope my insurer has done their homework and realize what they’re (through my premium) paying for because it were an app I was paying for directly out of my pocket, I wouldn’t buy it.

Lark. Been using this app for about two weeks now it is very easy to use and helps make changes to your lifestyle a little bit easier. I had no problem filling out the questionnaire and I got my scale within about four days. I wish I could interact just a little bit more. I happen to be very sick with laryngitis and bronchitis and wasn’t up to filling in the app, I wish there was an area on the app to be more interactive instead of just pushing yes no yup woo hoo on the app I also I’m having trouble tying my Garmin to the app so that it tracks my steps but overall I like the app so far took me a little while to get used to recording my food but I’m getting the hang of it every day I get a little better and I’m working hard to improve my health.

Works well, but could use some improvements.. Lark works well, but it could use some improvements regarding food intake and lifestyle, specifically alternate work/sleep schedules. It works be great if it could interface with more intuitive apps such as MyFitnessPal. Overall, it’s OK, but I’m not married to my phone, so it’s doesn’t track anything for me. Most of the data I must enter manually. Regarding meals, it’s easy to tell Lark what you consumed, but you must list all ingredients for Lark to understand. There is no method to tell Lark about a customized meal. For example: I often have variations of “Overnight Oats” for my breakfast. Tell inform Lark, I must list the following ingredients/portions each time. Oats Skim milk Yogurt Apple Raisins Cinnamon Chia seeds Sugar free maple syrup Also, Lark does not recognize my sleep schedule. I’m constantly find myself having to change this, which I found to difficult initially. Now I wait a full day, go back and delete what Lark calculated, then manually enter the correct data. I like it, but improvements and interfaces with existing products would definitely improved this app.

Not worth $20 a month. Not special.. My gym cost $40 a month. And there are many apps for free that can do what lark does as far as tracking of weight, food, fitness and sleep. Not only do I have apps to do these things but a simple google will tell you what you ate is bad or not bad. I know what is bad and how much I’ve worked out in a day so Lark does no good for me anymore. If the price was dropped I’d pay for it. Users are silly to even consider $20 a month. This is like $7 a month. Lark isn’t doing anything special or telling me anything new. Just overpriced with a lovely way of sorting the information. I’ll keep it installed but never will I pay for it. I have friends that would have been interested if it wasn’t overpriced for no reason. The developers don’t seem to be interested in paying per year or creative pay plans in general. It’s always been a flat $20 a month since they made it a subscription. I remember when lark was entirely free. :( certainly not $20 a month. Your funny!

Needs meal information from Lose It! app. I think almost every feature of the LarkApp is great, and I’ve been using it daily for about six weeks. The only thing I would change is the nutrition information data. There is some assumed knowledge of ingredients and caloric content of common foods, but I would love for lark to except information from Lose It! about nutritional intake each day. Lose It! is extremely specific, and contains an almost endless catalog of barcodes and nutritional information from restaurants, not to mention the ability to create your own recipes with individual ingredients. Lark would not have to build a database anything like this, if it would only accept meal information that was already logged for that day in the Lose It! app. I realize that might make it more difficult for lark to track servings of particular types of food, like unsaturated fat and fruits and vegetables, but I can’t see that it would be too terribly hard to figure out, as Lose It! is already also tracking those things to build a person’s daily nutrients profile. I also know I’m not the first lark user to make this exact request. For those of us who track our food diligently as part of our health journey, Lose It! is hands-down the best for this function. Incorporating that information into lark would be extremely helpful for success in the lark app, as well.

A great tool to help manage weight. This is a great tool for tracking what you eat, when you move or exercise and to help keep you motivated. The coaching provided helps gives you information to keep you motivated. There is also a corresponding Facebook page which helps connect you to a community who are sharing recipes and food choices. It did take about a week or two to get the scale but I was okay with that. I love that the scale connects to the app, making it easier to track. It also gives you reminders to do your weekly weight check which is a good thing. Knowing that I will be putting my information into the app makes me more accountable in what I eat and making sure I work out and move more often.

Not gluten accurate. When I signed up, I was able to indicate that I was gluten free. However, when I entered gluten free food( even generic gluten free bread) showed up as zero calories and no nutritional information. As a result, Lark wanted to increase my calories and kept telling me I wasn’t getting enough whole grains. Also, my FitBit wasn’t synching, no matter how many times I disconnected and reconnected. I contacted customer support, they were very responsive and nice. However, they wanted me to give them the nutritional information for the missing gluten free food… that’s not really my job… As for the FitBit, the response was some type of 5 step procedure involving app developers contacting me to troubleshoot. I honestly thought this was a new app until I read some of the reviews from 4 years ago! If they can get the app working as responsively as their customer service, it might be worth it. I’m deleting the app and going back to My Fitness Pal.

Easy and Enjoyable Way to Track. I’ve been using the app for a few days. I enjoy the interactions with the app. It’s simple to record food for a good overview of what I eat. One feature I would like to see is suggestions for foods when it mentions to try to get more unsaturated fats for instance, or anything that it’s suggesting more of...it would make me more likely to grab something. I know it doesn’t take much to either look up or know how to get the recommendations, but it would help subconsciously as well. As far as the subscription pricing goes, I’m not sure it will feel worth paying for once I’ve done it for awhile unless the suggestions get more personal or informative. Time will tell. Having access to real coaches or nutritionists - even if it was based on email feedback might make it more valuable to me.

Lacking in basic features. I was so excited when I got the letter from my health insurance company that I could sign up for Lark. I had seen the ads on social media for a couple of years and it looked so helpful. The reality is, I’ve acquired better (and more accurate) tools over the past few years so I don’t feel like this program is as helpful as I thought it would be. The AI *wants* to be helpful, but it still comes off as judgey. There is no way to scan bar codes of foods, no way to fix the horribly off calorie counts and macro nutrient info. I have no idea why it thinks diet soda has over 100 calories in a serving 🤦🏻‍♀️ I already have a blood pressure monitor; the one they sent me is ok but the setup instructions for it and the digital scale were inaccurate and confusing. I finally figured it out and it’s all working fine. The scale they sent is super basic- for some reason I thought it might be one that tracks body fat percentage but it doesn’t- just my weight. I also have to keep family from trying to use the devices because it could mess up the data that syncs- I don’t see a way to fix accidental measurements which is frustrating. In short- if you already use a good food tracking app like My Fitness Pal or Lose It, have an Apple Watch to track your activity, and a decent digital scale that also reads body fat percentage and connects to Apple Health- you can probably skip this whole program and just journal your progress.

Should have read the reviews — NOT a quality app. I signed up because I’m on a fitness journey and my insurance covers the whole cost and I thought it would be nice to upgrade to a smart scale. I was shocked when the insurance claim processed as $93. I thought, “wow, that’s a lot for a year” based on what I’d seen so far. So I just entered my second month and saw another $93 come through on my insurance statement. They’re charging $93 a MONTH. Even though it’s not my own money, I’m canceling because it’s a complete scam at that price point. It’s not personalized or customized. It’s not AI. It’s scripted and unless you’ve never learned anything about nutrition and exercise, this is all basic knowledge. On top of that, the tone is frequently judgmental in its effort to provide “support” and the food tracking is useless. The calories are all off. There’s no crowd-sourced database or barcode scanning. Looking back at the reviews, these have been the same complaints users have had for at least four years. They’re clearly not interested in making the necessary improvements when they can continue to collect from insurance companies. My guess is that a lot of people just give up on the app without formally canceling and they continue to get paid; I’m not interested in being a part of that.

Not Impressed. The only good thing is it sends the weight information to the app with a time stamp. Unfortunately, I have to enter it manually into Apple Health because they only connect to FitBit. They’ll pull from Apple Health. The Chat feature is horrendous with forced replies of only 1 or 2 options. What if those options aren’t what a person is thinking. The Food Log is useless compared to what you can find from free apps(MyFitnessPal or Cronometer). This one doesn’t allow you to search and select items or scan items. If they’re billing my insurance any amount for this pathetic program, then I’ll need to contact my insurance provider to inform what they’re wasting money on.

Cheery change of habits. I do like the Lark. It is easy to put in food. You are not able to manually put in weight though except the first time setting up the app. Like everyone else, once I completed the survey as was accepted, the app would not work. There was a lag and I had to call my insurance company, who could not help at all. I sent an email to Lark. It took a couple days to get a response, but it finally got worked out. I still have not received my scale, but it says they are on the way. I have not heard from my coach either. Maybe I am doing something wrong or maybe the scales have to come first. I do like that it marks food with badges, but I have not figured out how to find the best foods for some of the badges. I’ve been using it a week now because of the lag time, so I have a lot to learn and will get it figured out. I did lose 3 lbs just changing my eating habits and moving more the first week. I would like to track my water intake though. There is not a place for that. Overall it is a good app and I think it will help me become healthier and more motivated to eat right and move more.

AI Health Coaching. This is a pretty cool app. I’ve been using Lark as part of the Diabetes Prevention Program offered through my insurance. It’s been a great way to visualize my progress and receive support throughout my weight loss process. The best feature of the app is the insight it gives you into multiple aspects of your health data, including sleep, activity, weight, stress, and more. I find these insights really helpful in getting an overall picture of my health! The one aspect of this app I really don’t like is the food logging - it’s very unintuitive and doesn’t provide options or customization of entries like most food tracking apps which makes it pretty difficult to use. However, this app is still a great tool 🙂 I’m already down more than 5% of my body weight and I can’t wait to keep going!

On my way!. I am very grateful to have the Lark app to hopefully help me lose the weight I need to lose and get myself healthy again. I haven’t had any problems using the app. I am enjoying having the Lark app. at my fingertips to keep me encouraged and motivated. I was very disappointed that when I did receive the scale (absolutely free) one of the slots where the batteries fits into had a missing spring. I procrastinated over this minor dilemma which actually was a very easy fix. Nonetheless, I am excited to be on my journey to a healthier me! I have decide to also journal nightly just to help me keep track of my journey with Lark. I may just do another review in a month. To hopefully give another positive review of how it’s going using the Lark app. So far so good!

Doesn’t work for prediabetes like they claim. I signed up because I was diagnosed with prediabetes, and I’m on a special lifelong eating plan specifically for prediabetes/diabetes. Lark doesn’t let you customize your eating outside of vegan/vegetarian/dairy free/gluten free. There is no option for low carb, low carb high fat, high protein, or keto—all of which are prescribed by endocrinologists for patients with prediabetes or T2D. Frankly I found it incredibly frustrating to be told DAILY that I’m eating too much saturated fat (I’m not) and that I’m not eating enough fruit and grains (which spike my blood sugar!) I deleted the app after my Fitbit shipped. They also have ads advertising a higher model of free Fitbit but once you qualify you find out you get the lowest model for free and have to pay for higher models. I’ll just end up selling the free one (because I already have one just like it and hate it) and buy a higher model that is used.

Can’t Connect to 23andMe and Support is Disappointing. I received an email from 23andme about Lark and how it connects to my data and will provide a more comprehensive and bespoke wellness plan for me. I downloaded Lark, launched the app and went answered the chatbot questions. None of the questions included 23andme so I tried to find a setting where I could input the account info and there was nothing. Then I emailed support and the first thing they replied with was a link to install Lark. I replied and said I have Lark and I just want to connect 23andme. They told me to launch Lark and Lark (the bot) would ask me for my information. I said again, that the bot didn’t ask me and if there was somewhere else that I can input the info. It’s been days and I haven’t received a reply. On top of that, the interactions with Lark the Bot based on the health info that it does have about me is pretty basic and doesn’t lend to the extra time I have to spend having a scripted exchange with a poorly written chatbot. I literally want those hours of my life back that I spent trying to get this thing to work. I recommend using Fitness Genes if you want a comprehensive fitness report based on your genetics.

Not particularly helpful. If you’ve ever taken a nutrition course or have a nutritionist, then this app isn’t particularly helpful for you. The app basically gives you small, really basic steps for you to take towards a healthy lifestyle. That’s great, but I can get the same information from my nutritionist or from brochures from my primary care provider’s office. It says it’s “personalized” with your 23andme results, which at first attracted me, but really it’s just telling you what your results are.. which you can already do on the 23andme website. It’s interface is easy to use and all you really need to do is check in and tell the app what you’re eating every day. However, I’m already tracking my food on MyFitnessPal (which is free btw), so that wasn’t really useful for me either. I would recommend this to someone who has never sought guidance from a health professional before and has not a single clue what healthy looks like.

Accountability. I appreciate the accountability of this app. Meals are very easy to enter. I’m trying to learn how to meet Lark’s badge expectations. I would like the app to include help with that. I changed time zones while on vacation and the app could not keep up with what day it was, so even though I entered meals for Monday, it was still giving me feedback for Sunday’s meals. It will be hard to stay motivated to enter all the information if the app attributes one day’s food and activity to a different day. Something else that would be helpful is the ability to add sleep. It seems like I only can log one period of sleep per day. Often, I’ll wake up at 2 or 3 and the. Go back to sleep at 5. The app only figures on my sleep from 10 - 2. I do enjoy the health tidbits. And it has definitely made me more mindful about fruits and vegetables. I think it will be effective in the long term.

Lark App Review. Although this app has assisted me with thinking differently about weight loss and how to achieve my goals, there are several things that are less desirable. The app doesn’t link with my FitBit which I received free, so if I don’t carry my telephone everywhere, my steps are not calculated. You may add these to the app but it would be so much more convenient if the app and FitBit synced. Also, when logging foods inputting a tuna steak often gets mistaken for a steak which can be misconstrued as a not so healthy food. Then again if I would just put in tuna, it would take away the doubt. I may have to change my way of recording meals. Otherwise I do like the app and it’s hints and suggestions help me through those times when I may be weak!

Pros and Cons. I appreciate the app for helping me track my activity and the educational missions have made me much more aware of the health benefits of unsaturated fats and fiber. However, the food logging portion of the app is often confusing to me. The app tells you up front that if you are counting calories to do so in different app so I have been using FatSecret for that. FatSecret uses nutrition labels to track serving sizes and macros. The Lark Health app lumps types of food together and it is difficult to figure out how to input good choices. For instance, inputting 2.5 ounces of skipjack tuna canned in water, 6 triscuits, a bunch of fresh veggies and a vinaigrette made with 2 tablespoons of olive oil came out to 20.9 grams of saturated fat! According to the nutrition labels the total saturated fat should be 5 grams. Part of the issue is that the app has palm oil as an ingredient in Triscuits, when they are made with Safflower oil. Not all fatty fish are created equal either. My point is that these glitches with the app make the daily Nutrition Badges practically meaningless.

Overall a good app. Very user friendly and easy to log your food There is no where to track water intake which would be a good thing to be added This app makes you aware of what your eating and helps to keep track which in turn helps me a lot because actually logging keeps me focused so that I try to eat better. A scanner for food items would be good too because there are many items that the app knows but the values it puts in are way off from what I’m actually getting I don’t like when it assumes and I have to manually correct. Example: I enter 4 oz chicken burger it assumes chicken burger on a bun with lettuce tomato and so on…. Then I have to correct it and remove all the item or find another way to enter it that is accurate such as ground chicken Overall it’s a very good app and I’ve been losing weight simply because I’m actually tracking my Food and trying to eat better. As far as activity I’m mostly quite active anyhow. But with eating better and logging I’ve lost 15lbs so all in all I say. It’s a good app if you just need a little bit of help and support to be accountable along the way. There are lots of tips and eating information it gives you along the way also

Not quite sure. So I came across this app/offer on Facebook and went for it since my insurance covers it. It’s been very confusing going between two providers to try and get to the free scale and Fitbit. Had a near six week back-and-forth trying to be recognized on the app and get my scale ordered when FINALLY that got worked out—though I’ve yet to receive the scale (it’s been a week so hoping in this next one I’ll get it). The scale is connected to Solera which monitors your app usage and sends the Fitbit. I should have that by now had things gone smoothly. Anyway, it looks like most folks do get their scale and Fitbit in a reasonable time period but that’s not been my experience at all. Customer support is slow but does respond. The app itself is ok. Looking for it to get stepped up and really give some helpful tips. I’m willing to give it a bit more time so I hope it all comes together and helps me reach my goals.

I’m loving Lark!. I signed up for the free scale. I had no idea how belonging to Lark would chang my life! My thought process about food has changed completely. I’m no longer eating everything in sight, and I think the fast food places are going bankrupt because of it! I’m now in it for LIFE-I want to live a healthy life. I’ve stopped soda and most sweets. I read labels. I WANT to be healthy! Over the weekend when we were out of town I ate some things I’ve been staying away from, but in moderation and mindfulness. I didn’t go off the program and in fact couldn’t get back to eat the new way that I’ve grown to love! My husband is also a member and we are living and loving it together! I’m more mindful of getting exercise although I’ve never really been into that. I park further from the stores and I walk my doggie more often and longer. I’m in this for the Win! For ME! I’m down 10 lbs in 3 weeks and I haven’t had acid reflux since I started. I FEEL better! Eating right is for me now! So glad this program came along to save me from my pre-Diabetes diagnosis! You’re coached daily and you log your meals and snacks. Just makes it more FUN! Try it-you’ll LOVE it!!!

Nice app. This app tracks everything and cheers on your small accomplishments while also giving you feedback where you can make a change to improve. It also lets you track your mood, feelings and activity in addition to food. It starts with focusing on one area and then slowly adds goals. It gives you information on why it is suggesting something including the occasional link to a related research article. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t ask you to verify your food after you type it in. I put in chicken ginger soup and it read it as chicken finger and called it an unhealthy meal which it wasn’t so a little more intuition in this area would be very helpful so it doesn’t classify things incorrectly as I can’t fix it once it’s in and it doesn’t change even if I delete and re add with different wording. Other than that it’s great! It helps me stay on track by reminding me to log stuff and letting me know how active I am throughout the day.

Calorie Counts Off. This is an ok app. I like the coach aspect but I don’t always like the choices they give to answer with but it’s fine. The thing I hate is that none of the food calories are correct. NONE of them. I tried to put in cherry sparkling water and it said over 100 calories - it was obviously confused by the word “cherry” another example is that I put in triscuit thin crackers and ot said a serving was 250 calories. The box said 130. That’s a huge difference when your counting calories. No where does it tell you what a “serving” is and how they arrived at that number. I guess I was spoiled by My Fitness Pal. Since they got this aspect so very wrong - I’m not sure if people are really losing weight - then again they might be starving themselves if they go by the calorie counts in this app. I’ll try it for a bit longer but having to figure out all the calories for every piece of food I eat is super irritating, but maybe the coach aspect of the app will grow on me and I’ll see some results. I’m happy to give it a chance but might be more work than it’s worth. Oh - and I got my scale surprisingly fast - within only about 3-4 days of signing up. Sounds like I was lucky considering some other reviews. I may come up and update…if it’s worth my time to (and it gets significantly better in the coming months.

Program drives me crazy.. When I first started using the lark program I really enjoyed having the ability to track my activity levels and food consumption. The lark program gives you some great tips for maintaining your health. However, there have been multiple glitches in this program over the past few months. There have been multiple updates to the program to try to fix these glitches to no avail. My activity is being added inaccurately lately. For instance, I put in two walks one of 35 minutes and another of 40 minutes. It added these two activities as two 25 minute cycling activities. Not only was it inaccurately tracking the type of activity but it also inaccurately added the total number of minutes. These glitches are becoming more and more the normal with this program and I am getting frustrated with it. Not sure what has happened. When reporting problems with the activity the only advice I ever get is to delete the current program and add the updated program. Yet each update has the same problems consistently.

Approved and Finally Using. Got approved straight away but it took a week before I could actually use Lark. Have a friend who signed up too, and same happened to her, just slightly less time - took her 3 days to be able to use Lark. Approval is nearly instant but something happens once you try to get going. It seems like the account takes extra time to actually create. In fact I got made a new account with a new email, thinking the other was ‘buggy’ but it probably turned out to be just an app issue not creating the account fast enough. I “think” I even tried online - but I can’t remember- it’s been a month!!! 1 month in, and I’m loving Lark!!! Not quite learning anything yet, but I’m expecting I’ll start learning new things I weren’t really knowledgeable about before!! 📌 I’m loving Lark- wish we could type some responses- wish it was more Siri-esk... as in open communication and Lark could open chat instead of prepackaged responses. 📌 I also wish we could archive the “convo” ... or rather, the information and knowledge that Lark bestows on us. 📌 I am still waiting on a water logging / drinks log feature that is separate from the food. Reason behind wanting this is because drinking fluids are also a part of weight loss and being healthy - especially with diabetes!!

Easy setup, abysmal food diary. It does everything that matters the least well. Weight, sleep and activity tracking are fine. It just pulls from my health app or its scale. I had a withings scale before so nothing gained there. But that’s where it ends - you talk to a chat bot through guided conversations, the goals are fine, but this app performa minimal effort to achieve success. Now the food tracking is the worst I’ve seen. You can’t ensure the food you enter is correct because it only shows you servings and calories. Today I ate “protein powder” and any time I tried to make that more specific, it just screwed everything up worse. I have used myfitnesspal, lose it, Macrostax and myplate - all of them do the food tracking much much better. This doesn’t even pass as food tracking. To think this thing is making recommendations based on gross inaccuracies and charging my insurance is ludicrous.

Don’t Expect Them to Contract with Your Ins. I signed up because my insurance was literally the example in their search for insurance box.... It still would not come up. No one was available through their support at that time to assist. My insurance company advised to enter it as an instate (CA) network saying that if one is accepted the other will be as well and systems often have issues with the out of state info. Well once I entered the instate info Lark had no issues verifying my group number as covered in their system. So today I call as it has been about 2 weeks an I have not received anything more than the initial welcome email from them. No scale or notice that it’s on the way. The app keeps telling me that I’m almost to getting the Fitbit... The rep tells me I was kicked out of the program because I don’t have h the correct insurance. No notice and my “coach” is just stringing me along.... waist of time. Also this is the 3rd time with a 3rd different insurance so I’m not sure what you have to have to “qualify”.

This App Helped Me By Being Free. I have to say I have been using lark for years now. I don’t do the pay wall as I am a poor individual for full disclosure lol. That said this app helped me on my journey of 170 pounds of weight loss and healthy lifestyle choices. This app and the hard work the men and women put in to it really is worth it to at least try. I love how they a Siri like chat bot that helps you log and learn. Then you can go crazy from there and the pay wall seems to be something I’d do if I could afford it lol. This app is something I feel like is an Apple offering, I would not be surprised if I see Siri starting to do what this app has been doing for years. Kudos to the Lark Team!

Pretty useless so far. The “AI coach” is a pre-programmed coach, completely not personalized. It doesn’t know or recognize the difference between healthy & unhealthy foods in some circumstances and asks me DAILY is my unsweetened iced coffee has a substantial amount of added sugar. Support says this “AI coach” learns as it goes along, yet every morning it asks again if my unsweetened coffee had substantial added sugar. It logs meals that I know are healthy as either unhealthy or neutral, and there’s no way to edit or adjust it. I’m a former power lifter/body builder who gained weight from chemo after surviving cancer 5x. I’ve since dropped 150 lbs before starting to use this app and I find the errors not only infuriating, but detrimental to motivation. Thank goodness I rely on myself for my motivation and not this garbage. Support is apologetic, but useless, nothing changes so why bother. The canned responses are also useless. The app doesn’t talk to you, it talks to itself. There is no way for you to provide your own responses, only choose the dev’s canned answer. I have no idea how that’s considered interactive. Why bother chatting with a “coach” that answers it’s own questions? Useless I’ll keep using it for the scale and the Fitbit...if they ever show up, and I’ll keep complaining and reporting errors until/unless they start getting it right. The idea is great, but in practice in it’s current iteration it’s a waste of time.

Loving Lark. I have had such a pleasant experience for the last 3 weeks with Lark. The app is user friendly, easy to enter in food intake & make changes if necessary. The scales they sent works seamlessly with the app. As soon a I step on the scales it takes my weight and uploads to the app automatically. They are suppose to send a fit bit if you keep up with it but as long as I have my phone on my body, it the app keeps up with steps. It also keeps up with my sleeping as well. I love the chats as they are very beneficial to my weight loss, healthy eating and lowering my stress. I haven’t had any issues with it as of yet.. so I am well pleased thus far

Simple health app. This app is very helpful for people wanting to start or continue a more health conscious journey. It is simple to use and guides you through tracking food, activity, sleep, wellness, and mood daily. Provides easy to follow feedback and encouragement. Gives resource links and info on it’s feedback when needed. Allows you to fully edit wrong entries on food and asks if activity levels look correct - then reminds you that micro activities like cleaning, etc can be manually entered to capture more correct data. This is a fantastic add-on tool to track important data and be able to use on your own or in conjunction with a doctor to give him/her insight into your health related behaviors. It seems it will work more efficiently with a FitBit for activity tracking, however, it is not absolutely necessary. I’ve been using it without and still enjoy the simplicity and daily feedback to keep me focused. You are able to change the times of activity or meals so you aren’t tethered trying to enter data in real time.

That annoying friend that’s only being helpful. Lark is a great app to keep y’all on your toes. If any of you need a constant reminder, or someone who is always letting you know when you are not eating healthy, or if you want someone to point out how you haven’t done anything all day, this app is for you. I know it doesn’t sound great but honestly we all need direction, and discipline when it comes to weight loss. I’m just being realistic. I know I’m hard headed and need the annoying reminders and facts the Lark app gives me about my eating habits and lack of movement. As annoying as the notifications and feed are in the Lark app it’s that friend that keeps you on your toes about important goals in weight loss.

Dont bother with this app. Because my insurance offered Lark for free, I decided to try it. I used it about a week, and it is very difficult to use and has so many bugs it's not funny. I got logged out, and couldnt log back in so I tried "change my password." The app never sent a link to my email. After researching on how to fix that, I finally got logged back in only to see everything was deleted. Logging food is difficult to say the least, because it randomly crashes and you have to restart the app, even after redownloading it from the app store. It took me nearly two hours to log a simple breakfast due to the crash issues. You also cant scan barcodes so if you eat some frozen food you have to log each ingredient from the box, but you'll be lucky to do that if it doesnt crash. I own a apple watch and there is basically no support for apple products. I even tried emailing tech support about all of these issues, and only got a response with information I could easily look up on the internet. Dont waste your time or money.

Lark review. I think lark is pretty decent for an automated app. If something could be improved upon it would be nice if one could scan barcodes so food items consumed along with nutritional value would be more accurate. I am only on week 4 of using lark. The first few weeks were difficult because I am assuming it lacked my history to interpret any meals logged. I tried reporting it, but have never heard back from a real person. After the 3rd week it began working very well with only a rare occasion of lark being unable to interpret my food data. It may have been an internet or connection issue of some sort. As I progress the app advances into different areas giving me information on different areas of knowledge concerning health. It is also very encouraging to get you moving and eating healthy. I have become very unhealthy and need to change my habits. Honestly, lark has motivated me to be accountable and encouraged. A sincere Thank you to the developers for this program. -Dainta

Good and Bad. It’s a good app in their idea and concept and works well. But the data is old. If I ate as they wanted I would be stuck. I have been doing a Ketogenic diet and in a few months I have lowered my a1c into the normal range, bp is normal, LDL is in the mid 90s HDL is good and I dropped 71lbs By the time LARK sent me the information about using this app and devices I have been pretty much out of the woods on some things and when I set up the program LARK basically laughed when I set up how much I wanted lose in my first 16 weeks. I pretty much already lapped the Lark suggestion and well on my way to my goal. I think they need to up their data base and stop following the nation guidelines and use what really works Low carb works! Stop recommending whole grains. I eat enough veggies for fiber and have stopped feeding my insulin sugar.

Insert Cliche about Weight Loss Programs. I have to say this because it’s true: this isn’t a diet. It’s not a lose weight fast program. In 6 weeks I’ve lost 6 lbs, more some weeks and less other weeks. Most important to me is the way the app tracks food. I enter whatever it is, and the app analyzes it and, after saying “that sounds like a good meal,” gives warm and, if warranted, tells me only 2 things to improve. I never felt that I was doing anything wrong, or felt shamed that I went over points, or felt like I failed because I only went down half a pound. For activity, Lark would only tell me benefits of increasing my activity. When I was low activity, it would say “sometimes we have days like this.” Meanwhile I felt gently encourage to increase my activities. The fact that the program gave me a fitbit helped as well. In addition, Lark checked in on how my mood was. Being aware of my mood helped me look out for myself, take care of myself. Overall, Lark is the app I was looking for after “failing” with WW, noom, golo, and beach body on demand/shakeology. Lark is sustainable whether I’m living my everyday life, on vacation, or just having a tough week. I feel as though I can’t fail with Lark.

Manual Entries for Lark Desired. I love the app. Would just love to be able to make manual entries or be more clarifying when entering meals or movement. Other than that it’s great. It seems to return feedback based in preset values. For instance in manually adding a grain bowl meal, I had to enter each ingredient, which included 1/4 cup of brown rice. Lark advised that I had a good bit of carbs when in actuality 1/4 cup of isn’t a good bit. The goal was to use grains that Lark recognizes as grain or I’ll get feedback to include more grain. Also I have it set to read movement data from my Apple watch but it only reads movement data when I’m carrying my phone, which isn’t often. Other than that it’s a great tool that I use through out each day.

Appreciate The Service. I appreciate the service offered from Lark. I gave a 4 star rating because there are a few things that are a bit difficult using this program, which is very different. Sometimes the app has some issues but usually just by going out and then back in, it works. It doesn’t know some food terms and sometimes gets it wrong with what you did log. Other than that, it’s a good program to really see what you’re taking in with food and how much activity your putting out. I think if there’s a little more work out into the logging part of the app, it would make it a lot better and easier to navigate.

Super Informative. The app guides you throughout your day with motivation and information that goes deep into the “whys” behind it. It helps you understand what your body is doing in response to your choices in nutrition, sleep, weight, mood, etc. I find it very helpful in my journey towards a healthier me. There are badges and other rewards along the way but more importantly, the Lark Coach tells me when my food choices contain too much sodium or sugar as well as shows me charted comparisons of my meals and activity so I can see patterns I was not aware of. I have lost 25 lbs easily with the app and look forward to continued success in reaching more health goals.

I want to rewrite this after 6 more months. I have used this daily for three weeks and am hoping to get into the overweight category from the obese category this Friday. It has been helpful to me in the fact that it keeps me accountable for my food and activity. Sometimes I feel a little discouraged because I don’t have a Fitbit to link up with the app so my activity isn’t recorded electronically. The calorie count is sometimes WAY wrong but I can correct it up or down myself so that works. All in all it’s been helpful. Like my title- I’m very hopeful to be in the healthy weight category by 6 months from now-

Love this app. I have been using the Lark app for almost 3 weeks and absolutely love it. It is simple to use. It makes think about what I am eating so I am starting to make better food choices. I do think it would be awesome if I could scan bar codes on some of the foods I am eating like other meal tracking apps. I also really like that it is tracking my activity and making me think about how much activity I am getting. The app also looks at how much sleep I am getting and encourages me to get 7 to 8 hours of sleeping. I have lost weight and have more energy.

Great app. I only started Lark about a month ago and I really enjoy it. I like that it’s cheery and easy to use. I like that it does a mental well-being check in and the tips. Receiving the scale was great, and it’s nice that it only encourages you to weigh in once a week. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because when you put food in, it’s not as specific as some other apps in way of portion size or calories. I also wish that it would recommend a healthier alternative to the bad thing you ate instead of saying get less sugar, for example. Or offer a recipe for the day. I do really enjoy this app though!

Helpful with Being Mindful. This is a pretty good app overall. It’s very helpful to have the daily check-ins which keeps me mindful about food choices and being active/doing daily exercise. I think the app could be improved by adding in other types of exercise such as yoga and swimming. You can add “workouts” but that seems like a different kind of category to me compared to lower impact/gentler (but still effective) exercises such as swimming and yoga. I also wish there was a scanner for foods. I think that would make the food journaling more honest. Overall though, I think this is a helpful app which is making me become more mindful about daily exercise and diet.

Almost perfect. I love the app. Tracking meals, sleep times, activity and weight is so relieving when you only have to use one app. The only thing I don’t like, though, is that I work on third shift, so my sleep and wake schedule is opposite. So it thinks I’m up late when im just on my lunch break, and lunch is breakfast, dinner is lunch, and breakfast is dinner. It’s harder to track my meals when I am thinking that they are all in one “day” (24 hours), but they take place on two different days. It would be nice to set your sleep/wake schedule in the app so that it wouldn’t be so confusing for people keeping different schedules.

Easy & helpful. I do like this app it is not as tedious as I thought it would be. It's very easy to log your food which is usually what stops me from doing anything like this. It doesn't always record your sleep and exercise well sometimes you have to add activity or change your sleep but overall it's pretty close. I recommend it I just wish they gave you the Fitbit when they give you the scale because it would be much easier and more motivating. But I do recommend it if you're trying to get serious about getting healthy not just losing weight.

Just what I’ve been needing!. I love this app! The digital coach is so helpful. It gives me helpful information and encouragement. I love how it has me do a mindful check each day and I love how it gives me direction on what foods I need to eat more of and which ones I need to cut back on, all while being positive and encouraging. I also love the digital scale and how it communicates with my app. All I Have to do is step on the scale and it automatically sends my weight to my app. Great way to keep me accountable! I can’t wait until I get my Fitbit so I can track my activity even better! Awesome app and program!

Newbie. I have only been using the app for about 3 days~ logging what I eat, amount of sleep, any physical activity and getting moral support from the virtual coach. I was surprised when I was asked to give a review but thought that if there is anyone thinking about this program, my comments might help you make that final “let’s go” decision. I feel good about having to be held accountable for my own health. I would say I am going to do something and not do it, but there was no one asking, “hey I thought you were going for a walk??” With Lark, there is that question~ what physical activity have you done, what did you eat~ but also no negative stuff- not yet anyway. Anyway I’ll check back in when I have finished my first month. 🙂

App seems incomplete. The AI coach needs some adjusting. It’s programmed to say certain things whether they relate to you or not. I was hoping it would be more individualized. For example. my first day on the app was yesterday and I had already logged meals (and was congratulated by the AI for logging) when it was introducing me to food tracking and invited me to log my first meal of the day. This morning, my second day with the app, the coach wants to introduce me to activity and activity tracking and it said “I haven’t seen much activity from you yet.” I literally just woke up and haven’t begun my day yet. I also wish the food tracking was more robust. This is a great concept in mid development. I will stick with it a bit longer.

Great app. I’ve been using lark and I really like it. I like that it’s so friendly and casual. It helps me looks at my accomplishments instead of my ‘failures,’ and I really appreciate that this app is more supportive than aggressive. It really does help me stay motivated instead of discouraged that I didn’t ‘do enough.’ I don’t pay for the upgraded versions so it only keeps track of my exercise and sleep, so I have no opinion on the food intake part of it. My only dislike is that I can’t add extra sleep. I often take naps in the late afternoon and I can’t seem to add my naps or else it will delete my nighttime sleep. I am definitely thinking of paying for the app because I’ve been enjoying it 👍

Encouraging and Helpful Digital Coach. This is a pretty fun and intelligent health coaching app. It’s easy to use and informative as well as entertaining at times. It checks in with you about your meals, gives feedback, checks in on activity as well as gives helpful feedback on trends .. what you are doing currently vs in the past, etc. I use Fitbit and needed a 3rd party app to try to keep it synced.. Not super successful so my activity was often “off”. The food part was so-so.. easy to put in, but the feedback was often inaccurate. But then things would adjust, so I think it was being monitored? Overall, I like it and find it encouraging and easy to use.

Effective, but annoying glitch. I really like the app and it’s been working well for me. I lost 7 lbs in just ~2-3 weeks! The only annoying thing is that it keeps asking me to set a weigh-in day even though I set it the first week I had the app. It’s annoying but i’m assuming it’s just a glitch/bug that will eventually get fixed. The apps been very helpful with keeping my activity levels and the food that I eat in mind though! It’s been very helpful and surprisingly helpful. I highly recommend it!

Like The Program, App Needs Work. I am using Lark in addition to another weight loss app that has better content but is not as interactive. The Lark app has helped me off a plateau and got me losing weight again. I am grateful for that. The app itself needs work: It crashes on first load consistently and has to be re-launched It gets hung up “analyzing” my data frequently each day, often forcing me to close and relaunch the app It seems the more data I provide over time, the less capacity the app has to provide me timely feedback. I have waited as long as half an hour with no app response. If you want to add an exercise segment or adjust your pedometer readings the app will crash every time Tech support did not act on my feedback, it was even difficult to get them to understand that I was trying to share technical issues and bugs rather than seeking instruction on app usage After 5-weeks of enjoying the app, I am begging to think that I will need to abandon this app. It’s a good program but if the app doesn’t work, there is another one that will.

New to Lark. I have only been using the app for 1-2 weeks. It is nice to get information quickly when logging on. I want to lose weight and logging in the food has been easy once I realized I should enter each item separately (the coach gave me the tip). Although I want to use the app to lose weight and become healthier I think it will also help with mindfulness. Sometime I get too busy with lift to take the time to really think about what I am doing, eating, exercising and time to relax. I would like more help with ideas for food prep and meal choices as I learn the proper way to eat and proper portion sizes.

Some positive feedback would be nice. I think I would have stuck with the app/program longer if I got positive feedback more often. Instead it told me that I didn’t do anything as much as I used too. The app doesn’t recognize habit changes. Even after 3 weeks of a habit change (ex: walking 2 miles in 30 minutes vs 2miles in 40 minutes) the app would say “you usually do more by now.” The same with eating - according to the app, I did everything better before. The app no longer helps with new/different habits. It just says I was better off before. I’ve deleted the app now just monitor my activity through other phone apps. The scale is nice though!

Great app but too expensive!. I’ve used this app for about a month or so and have lost a couple of pounds. I really like the communication aspect. You can check in and get updates as if you had a real coach. I just cannot pay $20 per month. Yes, my health is worth it but I’m not having any serious medical problems and would like to keep it that way. So upset with price; will most likely uninstall. You have to pay the 20 to get the weight and eating support. Good job though developers, you have an gem with this app just overpriced. I would pay $5 but not $20😔

Motivating app. This is a pretty cool app that is motivating. I like the way it reinforces my hard work by motivating me and reviews my daily and weekly achievements. Is a good app for someone who is either getting back into getting fit and exercising, Or who is really busy and needs help keeping track of how they fit exercise into their day. I check this app a lot. It’s one of my favorites. Only thing is that it’s really expensive if you want to use the weight feature. $20 a month is way too much and I kind of can’t afford that so I don’t use that feature. That’s kind of disappointing because it’s a good app otherwise.

Ok app. Lark is just okay for me. It does have a lag when starting if it starts. It is easy to use. Need capabilities to enter precise food. I use another app and now having to enter twice and Lark ‘assumes’ a lot with nutritional information, good prompts when working. Sometimes unable to send responses- it won’t send so end up getting stuck in coaching only to be given same question over & over because of not being able to send response. Feel like I have to use this app because of insurance but frustrating when already using a more workable app that fits my goals.

Addition. Lark explains that house work can be beneficial also & the calories it can burn. In the activities/movement tracked it only has four basic forms of activity and movement. Adding some others, such as housework , I feel would help some keep more accurate track of activities. Life is not cut and dry to the four you have listed. Yardwork could also be included. Also, being able to advise Lark of “ work time” would be possibly less condoning than hearing a couple times a day “...not much activity today, getting up and moving ... “. Having the app refer to each user by name would be nice also, less impersonal. 😀 Thank You for reading and considering my thoughts.

App issues with unresolved help from Support. I have been experiencing problems for going on 2 days now trying to get enrolled for the Diabetes Prevention program. I’ve checked all my information and it’s all correct. I’ve emailed back and forth with a Veronica and a Jay from support and have not gotten a resolution. I’ve included screen shots of the errors which are either the server timed out or it couldn’t process my request. I’m very frustrated that this is taking so long and I feel like I’m not getting any useful support. Your company advertises wanting to help prevent disease yet the structure and process of your program only increases the stress and anxiety of someone who genuinely is interested in bettering their health and lifestyle. The canned responses give me no human contact which ultimately makes one feel less support and there is zero compassion and understanding from someone who has walked a mile in my shoes.

Great motivator, good potential. I like this app, because it helps to keep me accountable, it has positive feedback, and it has goals. I’m only given ng it 4 stars instead of 5 because it has room for growth. I would like to see an in-depth meal tracker that would show me total calories and macronutrients, as I’m trying to workout and be healthier and want to make sure I’m eating enough. In the beginning it was telling me how I needed to eat to lose weight, i was 114 lbs when I started, so that wasn’t my goal. I would also like more interaction with my 23andMe data. I’m trying this for a few months for the tracking and to explore the app more. If it adds these other functions it would be stellar!!

My thoughts about The Lark App. This is a good app for those of us who need a little bird to sing a song for encouragement and reminders, until our eating and activity habits are replaced by better ones. The scale is accurate and syncs up to the app so there is no temptation to fib about your weight. The only thing I can think of that could be improved upon is the logging of your food. I’ve seen other apps that you can scan, with your phone, the barcode to get accurate nutrition information from a package like a can of tuna or a tortilla wrap. But otherwise this app is a good tool to have in your toolbox to help build a healthy lifestyle.

Great so far. I have only used this for a few weeks so far, no real weight loss yet but I feel better. I like that it is a constant reminder to do better. More motivation to be active and to make better choices when eating. I also like the sleep tracker, I lack in sleep a lot, busy with work & taxi for my kids, just makes more aware of what that does to my body. Encouraging when you do well. Makes you want to continue. It did take longer then I expected to receive the scale but was easy to set up when I did get it. Only complaint is it would be nice to interact by typing my own responses at times rather then preset ones. Sometimes it doesn’t understand meals or drinks like chai latte, it separated it latte any significant sugar? Then chai any significant sugar?

Best app EVER!!. This app lets you know all the positive things you are doing, it never gives you any negative feedback. I lost 4 pounds within the first 2 weeks of having the app & that’s because I along with Lark pushed me to become a little more healthier and less lazy. I love the scale I was given also. It’s more accurate then the one I had before. It automatically goes to the app and lets you know exactly what you weighed and on what day. I just would like if we could put in our own input when we’re being asked questions or responding to a statement on the app.

Bad at tracking sleep data. This app is quite poor at tracking sleep data if you don’t remember to use it every single day. I’m not trying to make huge life changes just get some general data regarding my activity and sleep. I like seeing how I did against last week etc in an accessible way. HOWEVER if you miss days and then come back to the app it just repeats today’s data for the last week. I don’t know how or why but if I have not opened the app in a week and got 4 hours sleep last night she will just fill in all the days for last week with that same data. This makes the data useless and skews the data so badly that if I haven’t used the app in a few days and got a lot or a little sleep I won’t open the app at all. Wait for an “average day” and reopen

Wish it would sync with Fitbit. I used this app pretty consistently for the first several months until I earned a Fitbit through my insurance. I tried to continue using Lark too but tracking eating twice is too cumbersome and Lark doesn’t sync with Fitbit. If the apps synced I would still be using Lark too because it is a decent virtual coach and it did help me motivate to start losing weight through healthier food choices. I still weigh myself almost daily with the scale that came with the app (again through my insurance), but Fitbit is motivating enough that I no longer need Lark.

Works for me!. I like the app. I have been struggling with weight, my entire adult life. I know there are lots of “programs” and “diets” and most will benefit you if you can stick to them. The good thing about this one is the accountability and instant feedback (even if it is just an app I’m interacting with, it still feels like accountability to me) Anyway, I also like the way it connects to track my activity and how it pretty accurately tracks my sleep habits. Looking forward to getting a Fitbit so I won’t always have to have my phone with me though.

Interesting. This app is strangely addictive which I think would contribute to its success. It makes you feel accountable to someone or something when you are eating healthily or when you eat something questionable. I do feel the “meal tracking” portion of the app needs work. I’m a fairly clean eater and when I eat something like “slaw” which is cabbage, carrots, almonds, sunflower seeds, almonds, extra virgin olive oil, lime juice, and vinegar, the feedback implies it was not a great choice and I should try and do better. However it recognizes baba ganoush as a vegetable—eggplant—which it is. But when I have yogurt (grass fed, organic, plain, full fat, raw) it fails to recognize it as a healthy choice. I know the programming knows how to ask questions about the food. For example, when I log coffee, it asks about the amount of sugar in my coffee. So a good adjustment with the slaw example could be....was the dressing oil based or mayo based? Was there a significant amount of vegetables in the slaw? I think the meal portion needs additional programming to be effective. Overall though I feel the app can be very useful!

Insightful. Lark appears to be a very encouraging app to say the least. It’s like having a cheerful buddy to always encourage you to do a little bit better. My only issue with the app is that some foods are not as accurately logged with similar diet apps. It’s lovely to get “green badges” but I prefer a break down of the micronutrients I consume and more detailed information. I’ve only been using it for a little over a month and I’ve lost 2.5% of my body weight. It’s important to be accountable for your choices and Lark definitely helps you do that with only the most positive support

Accountability. The best thing about the app, which is used with a diabetes prevention program, is the accountability. My insurance company is paying for this program, so I have to participate and the app is like a paid coach, helping me with generalities. It can be confusing when it says eat more whole grains so I do and then it says eat fewer carbs. It also tells you to eat more or less of something, like fats, but it doesn’t help at all with meal planning. You really have to have your own healthy meal plan like the diabetic exchange or something else to use with this, and then you have to be okay with the corrections from the app even though you are following your plan exactly.

Holds me accountable. I really like the fact that I can list all my foods throughout the day and see how much or how little I’ve eaten. I’ve found that you have to be very specific about your food your eating, especially if it’s as sandwich. You need to list everything on it separately. The scale only worked twice before showing E3 error. I did all the troubleshooting that was suggested to no avail. It seems to take awhile to get an answer. I would be nice if you could manually put in your weight instead of waiting forever to get a response. I also wish you could just type in your own answers in the coach section instead of have to pick from the coach’s answers . I lot of improvements could be made.

There’s a reason it’s free and they give gifts. You cannot manually enter calories, and the ones they have in their database are WAY off!!! For instance; a Chick~Fil~A chicken biscuit in their database is only 268 calories when it is actually 460 calories and there is no way to manually adjust for this unless you want to say you ate 2 of them and go over in calories. When you attempt to talk to the virtual coach there is no options for you to actually do. Only just preprogrammed questions and preprogrammed responses for the AI to interact with. The whole experience is underwhelming and made me glad I did not actually have to pay anything out of pocket. Lark should be ashamed for teaming up with insurance companies because I can think of beret developed apps right if the tip of my head that could actually help insurance companies better than they ever could.

Lark. I’m so thankful lark came into my life. Recently I got a poor A1 test. and per my Dr I needed to schedule an appointment with him. Meanwhile I was nervous trying to figure out how to lower my A1 as it was in danger of getting a diabetic coma. Amazingly I received a notice on my phone to try Lark. I did and within the first week I saw a 2.5 pound loss and my blood glucose has dropped from 300 to 160. First of all I thank God for sending me help. I needed to have accountability and Lark has done that plus encouraged me with positive feedback. I still have a lot to learn about Lark but I’m taking it one day at a time.

Didn't work with other apps. I subscribed to the pro palm based on the website's claim that Lark could share data with MyFitnessPal through the Apple Health utility. Food tracking is very clunky on Lark, and I wanted to have the option of using the other app for that. In the end I finally got them "connected" but was unable to share any actual data. I contacted customer service and was told the two apps didn't actually work together at all, despite the website's claim. I'm so disappointed since basically all I get from Lark is prompts to enter meal details which I'm already tracking more easily and in more detail in MFP. Would have been perfect is Lark lived up to it's website's claims. I actually moved my subscription from Google so that it could do so.

Good Start Could be Better. The app is very engaging and it syncs well with you tracking devices like Apple Watch or any activity tracker. The feedback you get after inputting data is good although the limited responses you can give back is a bummer. The major adjustment I would suggest is to add a barcode scanner for your food intake so that the dietary information is more accurate. Sometimes the number of steps are vastly different then what my Apple Watch reports and I have to attribute that miscalculation to random steps throughout the day. Overall it is really good especially with recording my workouts and daily steps when I move. Will continue to use the app hopefully updates coming soon.

BEST APP EVER FIR WEIGHT LOSS. I have been using Lark for quite awhile now and absolutely love it! It has really helped me stay on task without feeling guilty or ashamed; whether eating something I shouldn’t or having a low activity level. However, it does make me want to do better each day. I have lost almost 25lbs and am thrilled with the progress of having Lark by my side; literally! Haha There was a point where I stopped using Lark, but it would pop up as a reminder asking me what I had for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Although I would just ignore it, I found myself coming back to try again. I’m so glad I did. Now, there is no turning back. I would hope more people would turn to Lark for better eating habits, and exercise habits. It’s so important to eat right and move the body, everyday. Lark helps you with that. Lark also has great tips and explains the, “Why” in good choices and exercise. The scale that comes with the program makes it easy to track weight loss. I love it!! Can’t get any easier than to use LARK!!!

Time consuming. The ease of the food tracking is convenient. The “text message” platform is irritating at best. I do not have time to wait for the program to “type out” text replies. I have turned the setting to “fast text” but it still takes several seconds for even a 3-4 word phrase to appear. (It’s like chatting that coworkers who sends 20 text messages with a sentence each instead of one message with all the information.) I think the information the app shares is important but this cutesy way of presentation is time consuming and I usually put my phone down because I don’t have time to wait for it. If the information was presented in a concise and straightforward manner I would be more likely to participate.

Put all of your Data to Use. This is an excellent app that helps you change your mindset and lifestyle! Not only does it help you to lose weight, but it also teaches you habits to keep the weight off in the future. You can use this app to track your activities, sleep, and meals. I particularly like how it can seamlessly deliver you data based upon your sleep and activity for the day, all without you having to input data somewhere. It also has a great user interface that makes you feel like you’re talking to someone and delivers tips in a good manner. Also, I like its interpretation of 23andMe’s health data, better than 23andMe itself! The only thing I wish it could do, is accept my diet choices; for instance if you’re on a Keto diet, it will label any meal only if red meat as unhealthy even though this is part of your diet that leads to weight loss. Still overall, it’s a great app and service! I highly recommend it.

Lark is my Coach, my friend,. As I was saying, Lark is a great tool for my health needs (with many benefits, in different areas) It’s done online and many “times to check in”) Fitbit is a part of this platform or smartphone… I had been on the heart 💜 watching Platform and it was amazing how Lark put this together! No interruptions, no going anywhere, yep, it’s a breeze! Fun 🤩 as well! I’m working on a Pre-diabetic platform, and so far so good! I definitely recommend this for everybody even if you’re 30 and you have a disease or a problem call Lark! They’ll monitor you and you feel safe, 24 /7!!Good Luck 🍀 Cynthia:)

It’s great. I lost 10lbs the last time I used this app. It is tad bit expensive. For the price I wish they change and incorporate some things. I feel like it is still too generic and does not allow more alternatives to food choices and it does recognize quite a few foods. For instance it did not recognize oatmeal as a grain or chia seeds and hemp as protein. I also wish it also addressed mental health, which is also a huge component of a consistent lifestyle change. Meditation, yoga, stress management...and other lifestyle management suggestions and advice. Maybe providing evidence-based articles for education on nutrition, stress management, and mental healthcare. This would be make this app perfect.

Friendly Advisor. I like that Lark gives a lot of friendly encouragement and advice about how to make the most of your meals and motivates me to exercise more. The weekly accountability of the weigh-in gives you feedback - sometimes good, sometimes not so good. But, if your weight trend line is heading down, that’s what really matters. I do wish the app recognized foods, especially brand name foods, better than it does. I often have to adjust the serving size up or down to get the right calorie count, but I’m not sure the app adjusts the sodium, fiber, saturated fats, etc. to match my adjusted serving size. At least it doesn’t seem to. All in all, I would highly suggest giving Lark a try.

Refreshing. I like the simplicity. It feels like something I could stick with long-term. I also like the idea of badges and categories of how well you did. I struggle with “all or nothing” and knowing I can eat something not super and still get some badges. I like the ease of entering food but I do wish it had a few more options - such as light ranch dressing - which it breaks down to mayo, etc. The only other thing I would love is suggestions on what to eat. And maybe this will happen after I’ve been with the program longer - but give me some suggestions for whole grains when you tell me to eat more of them. Lol

Great App. I’ve lost weight and appreciate not having to go to meetings where I have to sit and listen to other people talk about stuff that I do not need to hear. Therapy should be a private conversation. You get what you need from Lark. Has a great mindfulness feature that helps me when I need it, on the spot. The staff who man their questions related to the app are quick and thorough. The only reason I give it a 4/5 is their food intake feature. It’s only accurate if you know portion control and if you know how many calories items contain. I’d love for them to add a scanning feature and more accurate portion identification. Besides that, it’s exactly right for me and my weight loss needs.

Lark. I really do like Lark quite a bit. It helps me to see my blood pressure measurements every day gives me advice of how to get my blood pressure under control. I like how it tells me which types of food of to watch out for, for instance sodium. I have started to look for sodium on frozen vegetables that you think are healthy and was surprised at how much sodium is in the seasoned vegetables. I stopped buying the seasoned vegetables. I stick to the plain vegetables. It talks about protein, and fiber. I like the coach and I like how the scale automatically connects to Lark with your weight. Lark helps to keep me motivated. The only downside was getting Lark set up. That part was not easy.

Lark is Helpful for Some. If you are looking for an app to support you and keep you accountable this is a great app. Lark talks to you like a friend texting you. It’s comforting to some who are going for a social pal to keep you in check with your goals. Fitness and losing weight is the only big free option to keep track of. I can see my progress week to week and go through parts of the day when I’m most or least active. Eating etc is subscription only. What I do like: - I can check in anytime and look at my fitness throughout the day, week, etc. - Lark gives small information and details related to my goal each day. Some are fun. What I don’t like: - The small details Lark mentions related to my goal start repeating, and get tiresome. If they want me to check in everyday, they should change up the “conversation.” - I can check in for different things like if I skipped dessert or checked in with how I feel in the moment. But to fully experience those details you need to subscribe. It’s a tease, but one that is emotionally draining at times - there are other apps that do that without the baggage.

All other programs i failed on. I started this program October of 2018 and I have lost about 40 lbs. I struggled with my weight for so long. I still have about 20 more lbs to go and I have slacked off a bit with my eating but the goals and the check ins really do help. What I really like the best is the accountability. I have gone from almost a size 18 ( my 16s were really really tight) to size 12 now that is now getting too big. I haven’t worn a 12 since being in my teens. Now I’m moving my way to size 10. Try it it’s really worth it especially with your insurance covering it all including the scale and Fitbit

I lost 15 pounds so far. I asked my doctor how to lose weight. She told me no alcohol, pork, red meat, or cheese. Eat smaller portions as well. Mercy Health sent me the Lark app and it’s easy to use. And comes with a great scale. I like AIs and enjoy learning from Lark. Happy to give them a good review. I’m losing weight because I’m 68 years old and after retiring I’m studying to be a glider flight instructor. The smaller I am the easier it is to get in the glider and the larger student I can teach. I’m also studying to do ocean sailing and it is best to be fit and weigh less so I need less strength to maneuver around on deck. Wish me luck!

Easy to use App. I like this app a lot. It is user friendly and connects to the health data from my phone. I even got a scale today that should connect to my phone. I haven’t used it yet. My reason for giving 4 stars was due to having questions on the food I log. For instance I logged gluten free crackers that said 0% saturated fat on the box but app said I received too much saturated fat because of the crackers. ??? But, I’m not going to fault it too much. The important thing is in tracking everything. Being aware of what you are eating. It even sends a reminder to weigh myself. Also a good habit,

The ONLY reason I didn’t quit.. For years I had anxiety going to the gym because I didn’t know what to do at the gym or at home I just was confused with workouts. Then I found Linn Lowes on Instagram and watched her videos! I saw how knowledgeable she was about exercising and muscle groups and different types of movements, etc.... I bought The Lark health app specifically because of her, and that was a year ago. I am consistent with the gym, she has workouts coming out all the time and there’s plenty of other athletes that you can supplement form as well, there’s a little bit for everybody. Best app ever for working out.
