Used to work fine. Worked well until recently. Now when you turn the phone to landscape view (as the app forces you to do) it goes haywire. I think they’re done caring about this app. Don’t bother.

PLEASE UPDATE. This was the best app for travel recording.

Useful, but.... You can’t to load video from the gallery, and what about the vertical video format?????? Come on guys, no vertical recording??? No way, is stupid, there’s a lot of applications using vertical video.

Not accessible for the blind. This app needs to be updated so it is accessible for people who are blind or visually impaired who use a screen reader like voiceover. When I open the app, all I get is the camera flip option and the duration of the recording. Everything else voiceover, the screen reader on the iPhone does not read The menu options and more.

**Please make volume button a record button. This is the only app I could find that successfully has reverb you can mix into your video for vocals and is super easy. I have a request. **** Please set the record button to the volume button like the iphone camera has for a shortcut. I have a bluetooth camera switch and it doesn't work because you disabled the button to only do volume adjusting. It'll make recording video so much easier because I won't have to touch the phone that's on the tripod which can change the shot angle.

Almost perfect. Impact does everything you might expect it to do. Good recordings. Solid interface support. Best audio fx for a video app. I wish the videos were stored locally instead of inside the app. I would currently gladly pay a $20 iap for the ability to apply AU effects to the audio of a captured video. The built in effects you can add are probably still the best out there but the ability to choose your own AU effects would slay every video capture app on the market.

How long is one able to record?. I played a 3 minute song but it only recorded 30 seconds. I have an IPhone SE. Is there a correlation between the two? Or does the app need updating?

Export is broken. Recording functions work ok, but exporting to files/Dropbox/Drive etc. is broken. Only way to get a file out is to save it to the camera roll (iPhone 5s, iOS 11). Also, audio won’t play through a Bluetooth speaker, always plays through phone.

Couldn’t save video. I cannot save my videos after I recorded it.. it went rendering video and stuck in the middle of the way then it stop.. help me with this.. it runs ok when im using my old phone..

Great idea, bad execution. Hopefully someone can use this idea to make a good app

Audio Lag and Orientation issues.. The reason I gave it three stars is because there’s two issues that make it difficult for me to work. Number one, the orientation lock makes it so that you can only record horizontally. I found a workaround this issue by starting recording horizontally and then manually making the phone vertical after I start recording. The second issue, after the song gets to about a minute to two minutes into it there is a very apparent lag from the video to the audio. Haven’t found a workaround other than upload it to iMovie and drag it where it supposed to be.

Great when it works. When it works it's a great tool for recording, but after I record 1 video, even if I delete it after it says I only have 1 minute to record, and I can only get more time if I delete the app and re-install it

So much potential.... 1) Why can't I import a video I already shot? This would probably bring the review instantly to 4 stars, as the functionality this app offers would be highly useful to me as a simple way to shape the audio for a video I've already recorded. 2)Totally not optimized for iPhone 7+ (or 6+, or 6S+). This would bring me up to a fifth star in a heartbeat. I haven't even used any of the actual editing features (didn't get that far, as the very basic functionality of the app didn't work for me), but I know Focusrite, and I'm confident that it sounds great! If they would allow me to import videos already in my camera roll, I'd be a MUCH happier camper!

Issue when exporting the file.. I dont understand why it is so hard to export a file after recording it, at first I thought maybe the size of every files I tried to export were too big so I modified my camera settings to save space, also thinking that maybe more than 200mb is way too big to export so I trimmed my videos, still wouldnt work, it would start rendering then would froze halfway then the app would shut down. Maybe someone can enlighten me here... I would appreciate some advice. Thank you in advance.

Crashes. Why can’t I hear my video through my AirPods?

Fix the app!. It could be useful if Novation would spend an hour fixing this thing. Disappointing.

Put some pride into your your product. Stop robbing your costumers and take some pride in your product . The app is the main reason why I bought the recorder/mic . It’s a mobile studio . Last update was three years ago ? What do you pay one lazy developer in cheeseburgers to sit around with his head up his bum ? Get this fixed ASAP ! Make the app compatible . This is highway robbery .

Great app, but slow on exporting or sharing. Best advise airdrop or the app will take a while to render for export

Love-but request?. I love this app! It does wonders and records great. In my opinion I think it would be awesome if I could upload videos, that I recorded with a different device, to impact and was able to edit vocals and guitar there as well. Just a suggestion! I think it'd be great!

5 stars but... The app doesn't show the audio input menu on the app, if your iPhone is updated to 9.3 this app is useless until focusrite updates impact

Need big fixes. The app is not compatible with iOS 11 Can’t save videos to phone

App crashes every time I try to share/export. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and every time I go to export or share my video the app crashes and I can’t get the video off of the app onto anything else.

Use to work. I used this app all the time up to the last iPhone update. Now it won’t import video to camera roll and when you turn your phone to landscape mode it cuts your image in half. Please fix!

Problem fixed!. It was not working for my iphone 7 plus, I went to the website and still could not figure out how to get support. I had to delete the app and re-install it and thankfully it works, now I can get back to downloading my music videos 🤗

Great Focused App. This app does a great job recording singer-songwriter-type videos. Even without the companion device, the enhancements and interface work well. I ran sound using the camera connector, a powered USB hub, and a Zoom H4n, and the f/x in this app really livened up the sound. I'm thinking I'll be buying a Focusrite Itrack Pocket for an on the go solution, but this simple app really filled a need. Thanks!

Needs fixing.. Fix your app. Recorded a whole video and nothing showed up... only sound. And 30sec of the 2mins I sang.... so wack. I have a lot of gigs too, so it's not the phone. -AG

Works well. I tried this app to record myself playing acoustic guitar and the audio came out great. I do have a few gripes mainly around the UI. It can be so much more intuitive. Also wish they’d add a apple watch app so a user can use the rear facing camera with the watch as a viewfinder.

My go-to video app. While there's a million video apps in the App Store, almost all of them are variations on the same thing. Impact is different. While it's supposed to be paired with Focusrite hardware, it isn't necessary. Personally, I take a line out of a mixing board and, through an interface, video record the performance. Board recordings are notoriously dry but impact allows me to add room ambiance (and some compression if needed). The result is the clarity of a board recording but with the ambience of a live room without the hassle of an external mic. Also, a nice feature is that when cropping, I can do so by the audio waveform. This makes things quicker for me. No other app does these basic things. I feel like they're sitting on a goldmine of a unique video app that has the sound come first, whereas most video apps, it's just an afterthought. The downside is that Impact only records in 720. Not a deal breaker, but higher resolutions would be very welcome. I use this app weekly and so far been very stable.

Figured it out. I was hitting the stuck with rotation icon... Then I turned off my rotation lock in settings and it now works! Duh. Records and sounds great. Exported to camera roll. Cool application.

Broken!. This app just constantly requests that I turn my iPhone 6s+ on iOS 9.2 Constantly and don't even allow me to record anything

Waste of time. I got the iTrack Pocket and tried to use this app with it. Stuck in camera rotate screen. I see reviews from 2 years ago with the same problem. I haven’t been able to record a thing. Awful purchase, bad product.

Worked once, now app won't record. I have the latest version of the app, and a brand new IPhone 6 and this app, for whatever reason, only worked once. After that, it won't get past the "turn your phone" prompt. This device and the app would be a really good product, but it's basically been $80 down the toilet. They need to figure out or fix this issue as there are numerous others stating the same problem.

Broken again. The latest iPhone update breaks it again, where it’s stuck on the screen rotation... :(

Crashing. I love focusrite gear, but this app is crashing when opening it, therefore one star. I'll update the stars when they update their app.

Waste of time. Terrible software. Useless. No sound. No meaningful control. Totally regret wasting the money on the hardware. Focus rite completely failed on this one to the point that it makes me leery of the higher end "real" recording equipment. This was a disrespectful joke.

Disappointed with Focusrite. First of all, I love Focusrite's equipment for audio recording on non-mobile devices. Their interfaces and preamps for DAW's are available for every budget, they are reliable, and at times, they are the best in their class. I own two audio interfaces by Focusrite at the moment. One is my go-to except I just purchased the Apollo Duo so that may change, but only if Apollo lives up to my expectations that have been determined are from utilizing Focusrite gear. Now with that said, this app is a disappointment. I left a not so great review on another outlet online, which I did change after getting it to work properly, but someone for the company contacted me with a bunch of different suggestions on what I'm doing wrong, but my suggestion to you, Focusrite, the bottom line is its been over 2 years since you've updated this app. I feel like I'm doing too much work just to use the app. I was using iOS 8.3 when suddenly the amp simulators disappeared. I have plenty of storage available, and I'm sure it's something that MUST be my fault, so I upgraded the iOS, I uninstalled the app, I reinstalled the app, I made sure the itrack pocket was plugged in, after all that, not only are the amp simulators are gone, but now the ground noise is God awfully loud. I have zero fans or any noisemakers running in my room I record in. This isn't ok. One of the reasons I really liked this device, was for the amp simulators. If you guys actually updated this app, I would've bought the version for iPad. I've almost purchased it a few times, but because the app has been neglected and it's been troublesome, I think I'll stick to Shure for mobile devices, and Focusrite I will continue to use in the Mac book. If the simulators worked and the floor noise lessened, this would've been the perfect plug n play for us musicians getting our videos out there. Thank god for the Shure Motive88. Just in case ppl are wondering, yes you can do video with it. The Shure app saves your microphone settings to use in all other video applications. It also has phantom power. If you guys do ever update the app, I'll eagerly check it out since hoping it'll one day be usable again.

Disappointed. I have also tried iTrack Pocket on multiple devices and cannot get the audio input to appear, nor can I export a video. The app continues to crash during the rendering. How can you market a product like this? Why do your initial videos show the multiple input selection, but your most current release doesn't have this capability? Unbelievable.

It won't let me record or do anything. Please fix this

Unusable after IOS 11 update. App will crash if you try to export a previous recording to save it. Also, you cannot record anything as the record button is cropped off the screen when you rotate to landscape mode.

Hardware Great, Software not so much!. I was excited to try this today. Now I am just left frustrated. I have never been able to get the Impact app to show me the “audio input” icon. So, without being able to see that, I can not tell the app to look for input from the ¼” jack. The jack is useless. I have deleted the app and re-installed it. No luck. I have tried it on 3 generations of iPhones, no luck. Tried on my iPad Air, no luck. I wonder if anyone at Focusrite is listening. I see nothing on their support forums about this. Only here. For those of you still having trouble, flood their support site with requests to find the bugs.

iOS 11 Update Required (DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF U HAVE iOS11). App is not ready for iOS 11 It keeps crashing every time I try to export a file from the app. Can’t record even when the phone is not on locked screen mode.

Almost what I'm looking for!. When I first discovered the iTrack Pocket (the compatible hardware for this app), I thought I had finally found the inexpensive solution to my multi-tracking/video problem. I want to record multi-track audio and video simultaneously to my device. This does allow you to record two tracks of audio via any supported hardware (I used a duo-capture), but you can not edit the tracks separately after the fact. If you plug two channels into your device, you get a stereo recording. You can apply high quality reverb and compression to both tracks of the video, but not as separate entities (with panning options etc). Also, I could not figure out how to add amp simulation to my tracks as noted in the iTrack Pocket description, maybe it's part of the hardware? Just to note, I'm using iOs 8.3 with an iPhone 6.

Very disappointed. This WAS a great app/ device until recently. I upgraded my iPhone to 9.3.1 and now the impact screen comes up and immediately goes away. Focus rites response is that this not a known issue and that I could try resetting my iPhone to the previous update. I was able to use it on my iPad, which I had not yet updated. Well, a few days later, I go to use it with the iPad again and it won't record. If the left side icons for recording mode are on the screen, there is no record button . If the record icon is on the screen, they go away. It appears to be recording--video does record, but no sound. This is the case for both the microphones and the guitar jack. This app is in bad need of an update, and the focusritefolksdont seem to care.

Troubleshooting issues. My device is stuck on the turn your iPhone logo! I can't record or get past this screen :( please fix !

All hype. Whilst the mic works ok with both my 5 and 6+, the guitar input does not work at all, even changing the settings and fx. Doesn't change the levels at all. Just sounds like it's being picked up by the mics. Tried with two guitars, different pickups, even a boost pedal! Nada. Methinks the unit is faulty.

Not working at all. Looks like a good app, but doesn't work at all. Stuck on start page with no buttons or options to get out.

Problem. Camera rotation issue

Crashes. Crashes about 95% of the time that I use it. If I turn it wrong the app crashes. If I knock my phone over by accident the app crashes. It takes almost an hour to even save the recordings.

Camera Rotation. Very frustrating knowing that I paid $80 for the itrack pocket and now the camera rotation doesnt work with the ios 11 update! Please fix this! -.-

Don’t waste your time. The idea of the app is great but it is greatly outdated and doesn’t work with the current iOS. At least I can’t get it to work. Turning it sideways in landscape mode doesn’t work properly and you can’t save the video. Crashes as soon as you go to export it. Really wish they would update it or someone would put out an app like this.

Guitar/Vocals. This is an amazing app!

Won't work.. The app opens and works fine, but it doesn't work with my iTrack device. The audio records thru my iPad microphone, not the 2 microphone on the iTrack device. Also, it won't record sound with the guitar plug in. The instructional video on YouTube explains nothing about my iTrack device and no one seems to know how to solve the issue. If the app would work with the device, I'd be happy. Instead I'm upset that I wasted $100 on something that does absolutely nothing.
