This app is trash. This is one of the WORST food reward apps out there right now. For one if you want to use a gift card and there’s not enough balance to cover the whole transaction, instead of allowing you to use another form of payment like most apps allow, you have to reload your gift card. When you go to reload your gift card, it takes you to their website and then doesn’t allow you to reload the gift card. The only reason I go to subway is if I have a gift card and this is why. Your service is trash. Your app is trash. What’s even worse is that the number on the card to call won’t even allow you to speak to a person to get your problem solved, instead you have to deal with a stupid robot that’s powered by their faulty system. Also delete your card information off the app, I had someone hack into my account and use a gift card because thankfully I removed my debit card in time. I can’t go into the store due to an injury and was just trying to use the last of my gift card with a curbside order. Fix your app and your system. It’s almost as bad as your food.

“Just wait a hot minute” says the girl who…. So I already had problems from the start of my desire to order my subway sandwiches from one store for curbside pickup and was told when I called there that they had to cancel my order because Covid showed up with two of their staff and they couldn’t give me my order. I totally get that and was sorry to hear they were affected and pray they’ll get through it unscathed. So I asked if they could forward it to another store and they said know. So I placed an order at another store on my way home. When I got there there was no one in the store and the young man started my order from what I could tell and completed it and put it to the side because a family walked in along with a female employee. I’m in parking lot watching this. So she joins him to help with family order but I’m wanted to get going tsp I called to ask about my order and she answered the phone. I told her I was ready for my order to pickup. She said, “Just wait a hot minute” and proceeded to hang up on me. I feel I had ordered way before the family walked in and should have mine completed and delivered first before starting in another. Then I get home and my sandwiches were not prepared according to what I had ordered. Very disappointed. Don’t appreciate the disrespect either. I was nice when I called, didn’t deserve it. Won’t go there again!

*edit* app is horrible and rarely works!….. *Edit* this is the worst of the food apps i use. Rarely does it work when i want it to. And of course why would the restaurant uphold the coupons that the app offers? That would be too convenient to the customer. Customer service is as rare as a unicorn these days. Im only leaving this review based of a recent experience I had using the app. I ordered a sandwich from a local subway shop, I got a call almost instantly saying that they were out of almost everything, at that point why they were still even open I dont know, so I obviously didnt want any other sandwich of the two bad options I had with what they had left, so I asked them to cancel the order, and the employee said there is no way to cancel the order on their end……so what are we suppose to do when this happens??? They offered me another sandwich but i did not want another one and then they said I could pick up a sandwich tomorrow…but I dont want the sandwich tomorrow. Now I have to deal with this during work in order to talk to the manager and possibly corporate subway to get this figured out. Subway is quickly going downhill and its sad to see.

Horrible every time. I’m floored this app has such a high rating. I find it very cumbersome to use. Today when double checking to make sure I chose the “toasted” option it takes you through customizing and then the “add to bag” comes up again. So I needlessly doubled my order and received 4 foot-longs instead of 2. None of those darn things are toasted either. Secondly, the stores I frequent are poorly run. I’ve had numerous occasions where they’re out of guacamole and then look at me like I’m from outer space if I ask if they reimbursed me for the extra charge. Today I got to the car and realized they sent me without any napkins. They didn’t see my special request to put the meatballs on the side of the meatball sub because- kids- and there’s no option to just custom order a sub with pizza sauce, pepperoni and olives. It’s all so frustrating I had given it up completely then came back thinking it would speed up our road trip. Now I have a mess of 2 extra sandwiches, no napkins, loose meatballs and a crabby family all around. Not to mention I bought more sandwiches than I care to transport or eat. I won’t be back.

Terrible. EDIT: the app does now allow me to order a sandwich. So that’s an improvement. Everything else below is still bad though. Added one star back. Favorites are impossible to manage and weirdly include the restaurant so you need multiple favorites for the same sandwich if you live and work in two different places or if you are traveling, you can’t use your favorites. Selection of location is cryptic and often results in being stuck unable to add food to purchase. Can’t change restaurant after picking food. Why can’t I choose to use my points as a payment method?! This update has actually made it impossible to order anything. Error every single time I have tried the last couple days. So many opportunities to do better it’s impossible to list them all. Whoever you all got to rewrite this a few months ago should be fired and possibly subjected to the game of thrones walk of shame. Worst implementation of a simple storefront I can imagine. Seriously, I just want to order a sammich and have it ready when I arrive. The app used to do that amazingly well.

Very buggy. Are used this app about three days ago and it worked fine. I was able to go to my recent orders and replace the same order without any problems. Then I upgraded the app. When I tried to use it today I was unable to re-order one of my orders from previous days. I had to start an order from scratch. When I got to the subway restaurant about 20 minutes after placing my order, they could not find my order then they found his body had a hard time because they did not find my name on the order even though I had placed the order using my Subway account with my name on it. Now I am trying to test the app again and I get a screen that says I need to update it when I press the green update button at the bottom of the screen nothing happens. I went to the App Store to download the update but I am having the same problem. When I open the app, I get that same screen that says that an update is needed and it’s giving me an option to press the green buttonTo update, but that button is unresponsive. What is happening?

Not great.... Especially compared to the competition (places like Taco Bell, Sonic, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks, which all have excellent apps), I find this app to be buggy and inconvenient. Adding toppings and sauces to subs is more cumbersome than it should be and I usually experience a lag when trying to remove toppings. The options online often don’t match up with the store. Salt apparently isn’t an option using the app, although pepper is? Maybe the issues lie with my local Subway’s inventory, but I also can’t select chip options that I know they have in store. There’s no way to specify what kind of fountain drink you want if you add it as a stand-alone item (can only specify if it’s part of a meal). As a result, I have to use the special request section to correct my order since it isn’t accurate and even then I just end up having to grab everything myself when I get to the store. Also, ‘Make it a meal?’ shows up for subs but not for personal pizzas, even though every Subway I’ve ever gone to offers up the option of making my pizza a meal. Had to try adding my credit card about 4 times before it finally saved it (even though I didn’t change any info from the first attempt to the last... it was just being buggy). Buggy and slow when trying to remove items from the cart. Finally, it’s probably human error somewhere in the process, but the tracker often won’t register that I’ve picked up my order, so I’ll see a reminder on the app homepage saying I have an order ready.

Absolute waste of time of an app. The app in itself is pretty good save the fact that it’s not crystal clear how to apply the deals to an existing order. However that’s not the reason why I’m writing to you. I just downloaded the subway app about a week ago, and I have used it four times so far. The first THREE orders had missing items and not just simple items I mean like the missing guacamole in the turkey bacon GUAC wrap. 🤦‍♂️ luckily we live in walking distance so I just walk back to fix the order. Now the fourth time is the kicker and it is pretty much the sole reason why I will never ever use your subway app again. I dialed in the order and it gives me the ready time of approx. 15 minutes. Totally fine. I show up at the approx. time and it’s one person who just showed up to their shift for that night and has no idea where my order is. He spots the ticket order on the counter and is confused why no one has taken care of it since it’s been 15-20 minutes since that ticket order has been ordered and PAID through your app. Apparently your (probably way underpaid minimum waged) prior shift employee grabbed the ticket, set it on the counter, and clocked out without even communicating to the next shift employee about it. I’m giving your app a one star not because your app is insufficient but because you failed to realize that you expect your franchise to employ competent persons to execute orders that is generally meticulous in nature.

Useless app and terrible customer service. I placed an app order at my local Subway Sunday evening at 8:40pm. Store hours online said they were open until 9pm and the app showed them available for taking orders. Placed an order and got a message from the app saying my card was charged, the order was confirmed and would be ready shortly. I went to the location (verified twice) and the store hours on the door said they closed at 8. No big deal, hours change, but then why did the app allow the order, confirm, and charge for it? So, I went in to the store today, showed them the order (which the app still lists as pending), explained the issue, figuring since the order was shown as paid, they could simply make good on it now. I was told that they couldn’t make food for that order, that I would have to order again and dispute the previous charge with my bank!! I just did and got my money back, thankfully. I also tried contacting Subway directly before my bank, but their 800 number would only tell me (by recording) to report app issues on the web site. Clicking “help” in the app takes you to that same site, and the answer to “how to report an issue” on the site says to click “contact us” under “help” in the app, but no such option exists. There’s literally only “help” which takes you to the web site which says to report in the app……..

App needs work - NOT like ordering at a Subway shop. This review involves the remote ordering and delivery on the app. The process is very poorly designed. I expected that the app would be like ordering at a Subway shop but it is not. You cannot order things on the app like you can in a store - they restrict the available vegetable toppings and actually don’t allow you to add certain topping that you can normally just choose and point too. Secondly it’s a very limited choice of condiments. No Chipotle or Sriracha. No Ranch?!? Seriously. Items normally available at the store (like the toppings and chips that I know were at that Subway) were not available. Also at payment time it crashed and told me my payment didn’t go through, and I would have to clear the cart and start over, but it still charged my card. And the order did go through. But if I had redone it as the app said, I would have had 2 meals...Very disappointed in the app and it’s lack of selection to be able to create the sandwich I want. That’s exactly why I appreciate Subway. Don’t like the app at all.

Subway support helped solve accessibility issue with VoiceOver! Might have been iOS version issue.. THANKS to Subway phone tech support, we figured out what the issue might have been. I'm running iOS version 12.4.1 on my iPhone. I was impressed when the support person with whom I spoke actually knew how to turn on VoiceOver, and try the app using it with his phone. He was running iOS 13.3, and I heard the app working as it should, getting past the first screen. He also had a coworker try it with iOS 13.3 on an older phone. So, we arrived at the solution that I would update my iPod Touch, and see if I can get past the first screen with it. When I tried that the next day, sure enough, it did work! And now, for whatever reason, it's again working on my phone at iOS 12.4.1, too, when the other day, I could double tap until the cows come home, and it wouldn't go anywhere past the initial screen. MANY THANKS Subway tech support! You've restored some of my faith in app developers and tech support people who actually have an interest in app accessibility! THANK YOU AGAIN! Wrong Order. So I ordered my sub off of the app to be delivered, when I clicked finish and pay the sun hadn’t saved what I wanted done to the sun so it just added all the sides of lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, etc, it wasn’t the same bread I picked, it wasn’t toasted or had the cheese or bacon I added. I called the store and they said there was nothing they could do because that’s what came over on the app. Then my food was delivered without a drink. The store wouldn’t come back and deliver my drink OR give me a refund, the only way I could get a refund was if I went to the store and by that point I may as well pick the drink up myself. I asked if they could give me a refund for the major inconvenience of having to pick up my order when actually I got it delivered and they said there wasn’t anything they could do other than give me a coupon… which was expired. I’m extremely disappointed with the app. It’s supposed to make everything easier when it really just messed my order up for the same price. If I get subway again I’m just going to go into the store.

Missing some things here. I used to live in California, and in California there is a special Subway app specifically for that state, which I hadn’t understood at the time since I first started using Subway apps when I moved there. Having moved to NC, I noticed there is no longer a delivery option. Why does subway not deliver outside of California? Or if it does, why not in any location anywhere near the southeast US? I’m not talking about catering, I don’t need to order dozens of subs for some event. I just want to order a few subs for lunch and get them delivered to me while I continue working the whole time. Is there a reason why only California seems to deliver for individual orders? Also, on both apps you cannot make any special requests except through notes. Yet 80% of the time the workers do not see the notes. So I have no way to order multiple cheeses with the app, I can’t ask for a little extra toasting (since the breakfast sandwiches are always, at every location, still cold with normal toasting). The app is very limited in general with little real customization through the customization option.

App crashed but still charged me. I placed my order in the app but when it came time to pay the app gave me an error message and asked me to try again. I did so. Then it gave me another error and said my cart had expired, create a new cart. I closed the app, relaunched the app, tried again and had the same problems. I finally gave up and called the store directly. After placing my order over the phone, I thought to check my email. Sure enough, there were two messages waiting for me confirming my orders from the app. I checked with my bank app and guess what? Subway had charged me three times! Two times from the app and once from the over the phone order. As I was looking at this information, the store called me back. Thankfully they noticed a duplicate order. What’s that you say? A single duplicate order? That’s right… Only two of the three orders showed in their system. Some thing was definitely not working right. The store was only able to cancel one order and is going to wait an hour or two to see if the third one shows up in their system and will void it at that time. What a horribly, unreliable app. And for people who don’t catch the extra charges on their bank account right away, a horrible inconvenience to have to call the bank and try to prove that these charges should not have existed in the first place.

Always an issue. There is always always always an issue with this app. I know that there’s another bread available when I go in the store. It’s the 9 grain honey oat. I only saw that option once on the app. The buffalo sauce was unavailable for a couple of months (except for the buffalo chicken sandwich was the only way to get buffalo sauce on this app). That issue is fixed now. BUT NOW, I ordered today and there was no possible way to get the bread toasted. The toasted option wasn’t there. Only on the artisan flatbread was the only one with the toasted option. So on the “special instructions “ I put the word TOASTED 3 times all in capital letters. And guess what, my sandwich was stone cold and not toasted at all. The egg whites came straight out of the refrigerator. I don’t want cold eggs. And it would be nice to have ALL of the seasonings available. Sometimes there’s only one available, sometimes there’s 4 available. Even if there’s 4 it still doesn’t display them all. There’s always an issue with this app. There were times I bought cookies and chips and I didn’t receive them. I don’t think I ever had a smooth experience with this app. I only still use it because I like subway.

Worst location intuition app. Today I spent $24 dollars for an $8 order. I use food apps all the time and this app is by far the worst at picking up my location...I only order in two locations and every single time it picks the wrong location...other apps see where I am and what locations I most commonly use and when I place the order it’s always in the right location...today I had an order go to an Anaheim location, and San Pedro location (West St). The problem is I wanted the order to go to the San Pedro location on Western (which is the only San Pedro location I ever visit). I have never visited the one on West. I even tried to cancel the order and the person on the phone said they didn’t know how this could be done and unfortunately they could refund me...long story short two locations today got $8 from me and I am not picking up the food. Spent $24 today and I only wanted to spend $8. This app by far has the worst location intuition of any food app I have ever used. Thanks Subway for the fun day! My recommendation for anyone using this app is to diligently check the location even if you go to the same location every single time!

Simply doesn’t work!. I would give a 0 star rating if I could. The app wouldn’t was not working at all about 1 month ago while visiting one of my local Subways to pick up a sandwich at the end of a long day! The clerk/server ringing up my purchase did his best to scan the App to apply/redeem my points to no avail. As I happen to carry the card that came before the App with me as well, he tried to swipe the card (which has always worked before) and the end results was a total lockout of my account with the message to contact Subway. I had to make the purchase without my points! I did contact Subway the next day and after several minutes, the customer service rep found the solution to my problem. Problem solved; hardly! Two weeks later, I went to buy three sandwiches at one of my local Subway locations. This time out, the App just kept spinning and spinning as if it was prepping to open. It never did! Thank goodness my old card worked this time out. A couple of days after, I tried to open the App at home just to see what would happen. It opened up without a hiccup. Gee Subway, I need the App to work when I am actually interested in ordering food, NOT when I am just sitting at home not interested in eating your food that day. I expect to have a helpful, functioning App at the time of purchase instead of a message to contact you guys, or to simply not have the App open at the moment of truth! Frustrating!!!!

A beginner. I just signed up and it was pretty painless. I’m typically very frustrated by the time I’m finished unless I Chuck my Phone out the window before I’m done. The application/ sign up process was easy. Ordering sandwiches was a step by step process and the pictures make it easy to follow. I forgot to order my choice of cheese but in the checkout yiu have one last chance to add or subtract items. Also the locations chapter was easy to follow and subway allows Apple Maps so I’m not forced to download another map app I don’t necessarily want, thanks for that consideration. To summarize; my lengthy review; signing up is breeze just read the instructions & follow the steps. If you’re not on your own turf Locating a store is a cinch if you know where you are. If you don’t know where you are it’s likely you need more than a sandwich. I found this app to be problem free. Besides there really isn’t a Cadillac problem that can’t be fixed with a stomach full of Subway is there? Slow your roll (wheat , Italian, or artisan lol couldn’t help it ) slow your roll you’ll be unwrapping that delicious 12 inches of Yummy in no time. Cant eat the whole thing? Wrap in some plastic and BAM! Lunch tomorrow cuz its stays fresh even overnight. You’re welcome, k&g Henson Murrieta Ca

Where’s the Rewards. The app is convenient when it works. I say that because so often I go through the pains of buying online and I get to the end and get an error. This happens frequently. I resubmit, start over , etc. same stupid error message. And there is no one to call and ask for assistance. I keep the app current on my iPhone. The next day it may or may not work again. I also think going through the menu is slow and clumsy. I also try to get my order straight in advance so when I am ready and I hit the purchase button I know it will be fresh. This is typically the time I am hurried and do not want to step through the menu. But I still want Subway Fresh, right. But today something changed and when I went back to my order to submit payment it appeared to be missing. So I ordered all over again and then noticed I had two subs in the queue. So I had to figure out how to cancel one of them. My order changed slightly and I couldn’t tell which one I was canceling. So what is my reward for continuing to use the app and buy from Subway. There is none. No rewards for buying your subs 3-4 days a week. No extra discounts. No buy 4 get the 5th free. Nada. And I don’t expect anyone will respond to my input. So Surprise me, Subway.

No longer usable for online pickup. I used to eat at Subway every week at least twice. The app was extremely convenient for me to order and it be in the process of being made while I was driving over to the location. Eventually, every attempt to make an online pickup order for the past year has not worked for me. Oftentimes, it simply denies submitting my order right as I go to check out. When this first started happening, I would just submit my order over the phone. When they made it against company policy to put in phone orders for pick up, I stopped going because I was deterred of standing in line during the pandemic. I went months not visiting subway because of these issues. I just tried the app for the first time again today, and it failed to complete. Thankfully the cashier allowed a phone order this time. Hopefully they figure out the app issues eventually. With how Covid is, if I am denied doing over the phone, I'll have to go back to not even going here. I really love subway, and I want them to sustain through this pandemic.

quite literally the worst app i have ever used. where to even start? i have no idea how the app has 4.8/5 starts because every time i try to use this app, i run in to NUMEROUS issues to the point that i give up and usually end up getting food elsewhere. it’s slow, and doesn’t even work half of the time. when it does, i encounter error after error. it asks you to confirm your order location approx FOUR separate times during the ordering process, you cant use a gift card unless the balance covers the entire order total (cant split between a debit/credit card and gift card - so dumb) and editing your sandwich is so lengthy and unnecessarily difficult. setting a payment method is a nightmare and again, i don't think you can even use a gift card loaded to the app in person at a subway unless it covers the whole total???? the app also shows pop up ads CONSTANTLY throughout the ordering process which is just annoying and a nuisance. takes you to the final order page after every item you add - also annoying - and it’s so tedious to try and edit an item added to your cart. overall the WORST experience i have had using any app ever, not just food wise. do better subway.

Wish I could rate a zero. I ordered and picked up an order though this app on 7/23 and didn’t seem to have any issues. Two hours later, the store called me to tel me that my order needed to be picked up! I had already done so! Much to my chagrin, there was a different order - two sandwiches instead of the three I ordered. I thought it would be simple and the store would cancel the order - NOPE!!! The manager said they didn’t get any money for the sandwiches and they could not stop the pending charges or reverse them so I would have to submit an online request for reimbursement because I used this app - but wait it gets better - I submitted my request that day and waited patiently for a response, but on the eighth day I called corporate. Corporate told me that they would do anything for me either and I had to take the time to dispute the charge with my own bank:/! I was told this subway is a franchise and therefore not part of the subway corporation?!?!?! Best part is I’m the only on that is out of luck - the franchise and the corporation still have my money!!!! The lack of support and customer service has been appalling. I have now spent my time disputing this charge with my bank. Subway you have really dropped the ball on something that could have been so easy to correct ON YOUR END! BEWARE OF USING THIS APP! Shame on your practices Subway.

No cancel feature. For what it is, it’s ok. It’s slow to work and has shut me out several times where I had to start over. But that isn’t my issue with this app or why I gave it such a low rating. On April 24, 2022 I made an order and as soon as I hit the order button I realized it was for the wrong town. I IMMEDIATELY tried to cancel it through the app, no button. So I called the store before they even pulled out the bread. The associate on the phone assured me they would take care of my refund and they did not make my order. It has now been 11 weeks, several attempts through the website contact and follow up emails with a Shawn James the supposed General Manager of this branch and NOTHING! He even assured me himself he would get my refund in the mail. I finally emailed him and told him this company obviously doesn’t care about their customers and I was done exhausting myself to follow-up with his so called promises. Lesson to learn from my experience: don’t make a mistake on the Subway app, you will be punished for it and all they will do is give you empty promises.

I got robbed on an order wasn’t able to get a refund. So I was testing out the app and accidentally placed an order, It didn’t really give me a confirmation to make sure that I didn’t accidentally hit the place order button, second of all I followed the steps to try to cancel which was only to call the store that I made the order from which I did and the store manager said they had canceled my order and that I should receive my refund, however I looked at my bank statement and realized i was still debited, so I called the same store back and they said there wasn’t anything they could do about it and that I’d have to go to the website. So I went through the website and it didn’t even have an option for any issues of such, cancellations. So I had to just try and contact them and send them a note and still haven’t received anything. So now I most about $20 and no food even. I hope they have a better way of resolving this typical issue otherwise I highly don’t recommend this app especially if you have a kid or someone that might accidentally push the place order button when you aren’t actually ready to..

Worst app ever!!. I placed an order on the app an hour in advance and realized that it was at the wrong location. The app doesn’t allow you to cancel an order, to do so you would have to contact the restaurant. I called them and they said that they haven’t received the order and they hung up in my face. I called back and the guy said that he checked the orders and mine hadn’t shown up. He asked what time i placer the order for and I told him 8:15pm as it was about 7:20 pm. He said (with the rudest attitude) to call back closer to the order time to cancel. I said I would and I placed an order for the correct location. I called them at 8:05 pm and nobody answered. I called them at least five more times with no answer. I decided to go to the restaurant and handle it inside. It took 30 minutes to get to the front of the line and the girl couldn’t do anything. I was extremely late for work waiting on that line and I HAD to take the sandwiches. They were prepared incorrectly on top of all of it and I still had to pick up my order at the correct location. I’ve never know an app not to have a cancel option. This is ridiculous and I want a refund. Never using this app again. It was a complete waste of time and money

Charged for sandwich by closed restaurant. Updated: heard back before I had to go through my credit card company and they are refunding the purchase. Still hesitant to trust the hours in the app going forward though Ordered a sandwich through the app for a restaurant that was supposed to be open until midnight (according to the app), received my confirmation email, arrived at the store at 10:55 and it was very clearly closed (with hours posted as open until 11:30pm). Couldn’t cancel the order since the only way to do that is by calling the restaurant who obviously didn’t pick up. Only customer service contact is a form, so filled it out explaining what had occurred and asking for confirmation I wouldn’t be charged. Four days later my credit card has been charged and I have no response from customer service, looks like I’m going to have to deal with this through my credit card company. Clearly deleting the app as it defeats the purpose of ordering ahead if the restaurant might not even be open and they charge you for food you don’t receive

Convinient and has rewards. I used this app a lot for the rewards program, and now I use the mobile ordering even more since COVID restrictions in my town. You can select all items from the menu and indicate the specific bread, meat, toppings and sauces. I love how you can even indicate whether you want the regular amount or if you’d rather have more of a topping or less of the amount. You can also add on “ make it a meal” or side items individually. It is great that after you make an item you can select it as a favorite and put a name on it. This makes it easier the next time you are ordering for a family you just go to your favorites and you can find all your items already built to suit for each person. Additionally, you automatically earn points toward your reward tokens with later turn into cash rewards toward your purchase. The only downside the the rewards is that they do expire so don’t forget to use them. Last perk...well you can skip the line of course. It indicates what time your order will be ready and you can skip the line and go to the register to pick it up. Your all done because you already payed online. Great app!

In Royal Oak I was blown away how clean and polished This place was, smelling fresh baked bread Was out of this world, after observing how clean the place was we walked up to the counter and when I tell you it looked it is if you could reach into the prettiest fresh cut vegetables and meats wow I had so many questions and the guys was there to answer seriously if you have not been in subways lately go to the one on 11 mile Road in royal oak it is so family friendly I promise you’ll come back over and over again seriously my husband and I can’t wait to come back again tomorrow and the next day and the next day until we try all the new sandwiches that Subway has rolled out or just go for a drink and be amazed of what a clean restaurant looks like. Always have problems in the store. I’ve previously tried to have my barcode scanned in the store to earn points only to be told either the scanner doesn’t want to scan it, doesn’t work, or some other reason. Today was the first day I made an order on the app and went to pick it up. Not only was my husband’s order wrong but the female employee was not even trying to see my phone to verify that my order did indeed include a 3rd FREE footlong sub. I mean...absolutely REFUSED to look and even MAKE the sub! It was paid for ahead and everything. The other employee there did look at my phone and verified that there was in fact a 3rd sandwich in my order but ended up having to pay for it out of pocket himself?!?! He shouldn’t have had to have done that for my order to be made as the promotion was for Buy 2 footlongs and get 1 footlong free. The woman who refused to look at my phone then said that I shouldn’t place the order online anymore and just show them the offer in the store. I don’t know what the heck is going on but this app is more of a hassle than anything for the few times I’ve actually tried to use it.

Absolute Garbage. Placed an order at 5:20pm on the app for pickup at the Menominee, MI Subway. Completed the transaction and it told me it would be ready for pickup at 8:20pm. Three hours?!!! Called the store 20 minutes later to see if was really going to take that long. They haven’t gotten the order! She said it usually takes 15 minutes for the store to receive it. So they should have already gotten it. She said once they received the order that they would have it ready in 15-20 minutes. I called back in 25 minutes and they still hadn’t received the order! She asked me to give her my order over the phone and they would make it right away. I went to the store 20 minutes later and showed the woman my phone with the order details which show date, time, order number, store number, location, items ordered, amount paid, method of payment. Everything to prove it’s legit. I appreciate the employees willingness to resolve things, but the app is COMPLETE GARBAGE!!! The store had no way to look up my order, no way to cancel the order, and no familiarity with the app itself. They made my verbal order with one error, by forgetting to put bacon on my steak & bacon sub, which is a little frustrating. The app far outweighed the missing bacon in terms of visceral frustration. And on the Subway website under the Contact Us section, you don’t have an option to choose app problems or feedback. I’d rate the app zero stars if that was an option.

Needs a location improvement. If you use different subway locations (you travel for work), it will sometimes revert back to the location from your previous order. I was in Highlands Ranch, Colorado making a delivery (I’m a trucker) not 200ft from a location. I changed the location in app to that store. As I placed the order it reverted back to the previous order location in Longmont, Colorado from 3 weeks earlier and sent the order to that store. When I got the confirmation email I noticed the mistake and called that store to explain to them what happened. The store manager told me “it’s an electronic payment and there’s nothing she could do”. I asked her not to make the sandwich as I wouldn’t be able to drive 2hrs with traffic for a $7 sandwich. I contacted subway through the email I found on the app and they responded with each store if individually owned and there was nothing they could do. So I was charged the money anyway. I know it’s not much money but if it happens to even 1% if the people that use the app it’s a lot of money subway if profiting for nothing. It’s a simple fix that they need to do. If you only ever use one location it’s a great app but if you use multiple locations for lunches at work or something it’s not worth the time you’d save. I’m deleting the app and subway isn’t in my lunch rotation anymore.

doesn’t reflect food items at store locations. Subway doesn’t update the app! Food items are still listed even though they have been removed from the menu. Also, local store inventory is not in sync between corporation so the app doesn’t know if they have items in stock or are temporarily out... so if your lucky you will get a call from the store location telling you they don’t have what you ordered or the items not on their menu and you have to give them a replacement order over the phone on the spot. Or you get to the store expecting to pick up your order only to find out they don’t have the items and you need to make your sandwich/s anyway. And... that doesn’t take into account the possibility the price of what you then order for replacement is a lower price then the original order but that’s just to bad, because you already paid the price for the higher items so you’re expected to “eat” the difference in price because you ordered and paid online on the app! So that’s just to bad for you... convince comes at a price and we definitely pay that price with subway... if you like gambling then this is your app... you roll the dice every time order...

Simply Doesn’t Work - Subway Gives Copy And Paste Responses. This app went from buggy to completely non-functional. Open the app and after a few taps it crashes and closes. I’m not going to spend any time detailing the exact issues I’m experiencing because the Subway response will be the same copy and paste response they have given to everyone... “We want to help, please contact us at.... yada, yada, yada...”. Bottom line is, the app doesn’t work for most people and needs a drastic overhaul by competent developers. So far all that Subway has had to offer is copy and paste lip service. Make a meaningful effort to your customers and admit that the app is broken and that you’re actually addressing the problem with qualified developers (assuming that’s what you’re actually doing). There are more complicated apps out there that perform flawlessly, so yours doesn’t have to be an exception - hire qualified people Subway.

Inconsistent. This is a good app and that I have been pleasantly surprised with two dollar rewards on several occasions and have gotten accurately made subs in a timely manner from locations I have ordered through the app with. However, glitches are to be expected and if it acts like a jerk, I usually default to avoiding Subway altogether and coming up with a different meal option (wasn’t meant to be mentality). And- payment process is a beast, namely if you have a gift card that does not cover the balance due. For some ridiculous reason it does not allow you to pay with a remaining gift card balance and a credit card to cover the difference. I attempted to “reload“ the Subway card with a couple extra dollars several times so I could get rid of the gift card balance, and after two attempts putting my cc info in (it doesn’t allow autofill), finally getting the information to save…clicked reload card to no avail and nothing happens aside from a click. Bleh. The purpose of the app ordering is for convenience and this is the complete opposite, resulting only in frustration and just paying with Apple pay.

yeah no thanks. app popped up with a message asking if I was "enjoying" It after using it for less than ten minutes. It took all of those ten minutes to get through the glitches so it would actually allow me to order, so I said no, I wasn't. The next pop-up was the most condescending "Oh no! Do you want to tell us more?" I've ever seen. I hit yes, thinking it would take me, like.... anywhere. Here, maybe? To a form that you can submit on their website or through their app (if you can get it to work long enough to find it)? Nope! It asked if I wanted to call them. The ONLY option it gives for feedback about a bad experience is calling and talking to someone on the phone. What year is it?? I get that it took them four years longer than any other fast food joint to actually have an app in the first place, but surely, *surely* they aren't only giving that option for frustrating experiences because they know very few people will actually call, right? That can't possibly be it. Sure, there is literally no reason to *only* have a phone option in the year 2020 for a major fast food joint, but.... okay, there's no but. So hey, congrats! A one star review and a rant, just like you really didn't want me to ◡̈

Broken, Buggy, and just plain Bad. The Subway app has updated and changed for the worse. First is that the app makes it ridiculously difficult to select or change the store your ordering from. Sometimes even refusing to do so after you select the store you want, and given the no refund policy it can hurt having the sandwich you payed for in the wrong place. Second the app constantly runs into errors having once completely ignore my order, after I had ordered it and everything. Lastly the app charged me TWICE for one sandwich. The app order history says one sandwich, when I picked it up I had one sandwich, but my transaction history on my bank account has two separate identical charges for the sandwich. I am currently trying to see if this can be resolved but be warned. With the above said there are more rough unintuitive parts of the app like accessing your cart or editing it bar those problems don’t bring actual consequences like misplaced, unplaced, or double charge orders like the other problems. Before the update the app didn’t have these frustrating problems but now I just say, call the store ahead instead and save yourself the trouble.

How is it great yet terrible?. i’ve used this app for a very long time and I always run into problems when ordering. Right now the app is saying I have rewards that have expired and that I need to click manage settings or something when I don’t have any rewards on there so the option to manage them won’t even pop up now I wanted to get food before I go to work and I’m not able to do that because it’s not able to process my order without me removing something that can’t be removed. It should have an automatic reset if there’s no rewards, instead of making you manually remove them, the system takes it off for you it’s ridiculous how many times I’ve had to go through this also I hate how if I accidentally click a different link it’ll have to restart the whole page with the logo in the white background (ex: accidentally pressing the map link on the app and having to wait for the previous page to reload when it should not be that complicated) I love subway really but this app is just terrible and needs tons of work.

App is defective. Today I placed an online order for a what’s considered a spicy Italian sandwich and I’m aware that it takes up to 24 hours to load you points but something wasn’t right. Hours after getting my sandwich I went in the app and it read,” it wasn’t able to add my points”, so I checked my email to make sure it confirmed that I purchased it. In which they sent my confirmation, but the app continued to say an error occurred while trying to retrieve points. So I clicked the scan icon to see if anything would happen, and once I clicked it. Actually every time I clicked the icon the subway app would disappear, and it would go to my home page. So I checked my WiFi to see if that was the problem which it wasn’t, and then I logged out. Once I did that it, the app said its performing maintenance on their registration process. That’s just makes me upset because I don’t know if this maintenance is going to cancel the points I already have and on top of that I never got my points from the order I just purchased. There is no history of my purchase on the app (before logging out) because there was an error. So if I could be helped out I would really appreciate it. Also on top of that this was my first time using your mobile order, so this experience makes me skeptical of ever using it again.

Horrible at choosing location. I have a subway right across from my job, we were pretty busy so I ordered food through the app so I can just pick it up and go back to work. However, the app threw my order to a subway that wasn’t near me. So when I went to the subway across the street, the cashier said she had not received any mobile orders all day. I showed her the app and confirmation and we said that the address wasn’t this location but for the subway down the street. Already agitated I just had them do the order there and I paid. I called the subway where my order was placed thanks to the app and they said they couldn’t cancel it because only the manager knew how. I called the next day and spoke to the manager (Ignacio) and explained the situation to which he said “ I don’t know why the staff didn’t call me to explain the cancellation process because now it’s too late to do it.” He did offer store credit to which I refused because that location is not near me plus I had already bought the sandwiches again from the subway across my job. The manager said he would call me back in a few minutes and of course two days later I have yet to receive a call. I disputed the charge through my bank, deleted the subway app and am never going to subway again. Thanks Ignacio for being so unprofessional and unhelpful.

Ricky is the Absolute Best!. Ricky works at the only 24 hr store in the heart of downtown pigeon forge, I’m a regular late at night as it’s the only quick convenient healthy place to grab a bite to eat late after work and Ricky is always so slammed. He’s got a line out the door and tickets lined up 2030 tickets lined up on the counter and he’s always on the only man there by himself, and he manages to get everybody in and out in a timely manner. He has a positive attitude that man deserves a raise. I don’t understand how he does that job. I don’t understand how he performs that job that should take at least three people in the amount of time that he does that man deserves a promotion. Kudos to you Ricky you are the man and thank you for always being open and being the the upbeat guide, that you always are dependable late night subway, man, Ricky, I can always count on you to make me feel better and give me a heart to heart with your little pieces of advice for my life Hooters do you Ricky you have no idea Sending this positive review with kind words and kind actions I hope it spread across the world

Awful experience. I downloaded the app because the regular online ordering failed miserably. And it was even worse. It took me 10 minutes to find the fine print to add/customize normal toppings. Next, the site kept telling me my local store was closed, when a phone call verified it was very much open. Next, after that ordeal, despite trying three(!!) methods of payment, every one failed, returned a random error and then I’d get logged out, forcing me to log back in and do it all over again. Same problems each time. Lastly, all the hmHelp or Contact Us links threw up a 404 Not Found error. Wonderful. So I download the app. At least this one shows my local store as open, but while attempting to build a sandwich, I notice that if you try to add multiple toppings from a category (i.e. cheese), it removes the one you’ve already selected. So if you want cheddar and swiss on that sub, you’re apparently out of luck. I gave up after this. So who knows whether the app would have had the same payment glitch. I won’t be finding out anytime soon. Tonight just became pizza night. It’s 2019, guys. Fix your tech.

Horrible app. I don’t know what’s up with this app but it keeps changing my name to my husband’s name but as soon as I go under account and click on ‘name’ it clearly shows my name then changes the name back to mine. It caused a problem today when I ordered online for pickup. My husband went to pick it up and they claimed it didn’t go through. Then I go in and show them the order number and they claim it was never received by them and they suggested I reorder in person and pay again. Upset, I leave. Upon getting home, the app shows my order is ready for pickup so I call the store again. They claim they still hadn’t received the order and that it must be an automated notification. Three hours later I receive a call from said subway asking if I am going to pick up my order as it has been hours since it was ordered online. I tell the person they must be joking because I was there hours before trying to pick it up when they said it didn’t exist. It was apparently under my husband’s name somehow. You would think they would have asked my husband if it could have been ordered under his name somehow but neither of us even thought about that. You would also think when she asked me for my order number something would have showed up in their system. Worst experience ever.

App froze and cannot access my 14 $2 rewards!. A week ago, my app froze and a box keeps coming up saying A problem occurred CONTACT SUPPORT or SIGN OUT” If you “contact support” it takes you to a website with only options that are irrelevant to the issue. I ended up going to the desktop site, where I could sign in but when I check my rewards it says “ERROR please try again”. I literally go to subway seven days a week and accumulate a ton of points and redeem them one at a time when they’re about the expire. I’ve used this app since it came out two years ago. But suddenly now it froze and I cannot do anything. I have a gift card connected to it and $28 worth of accumulated points that I cannot access. I’ve gone to the main website and filled out a form under “app issues with apple phone” three times in the last week and have heard nothing back. I deleted the app and reinstalled it but the error still comes up. The only way to use it again is to sign up for a new account back at zero. If ANYBODY has information on who I can actually get a response from someone, please post here. Ridiculous!

Disappointing. I’m a big fan of eating at Subway because of how much you can customize things. This app doesn’t let you do that nearly as much. Items like the Steak & Cheese don’t give you the option to select a Footlong, which is frustrating because Subway currently has an offer of $5 footlongs if you order 2 on the app, which this prevents me from taking advantage of. Entire menu items are completely missing from the menu as well, like the Ham and Turkey sandwich. Also, other ingredients, such as bell peppers, are completely missing from the Customization page; but when I go into the local store in-person, they have them in stock. I also sometimes like to add other meats to existing menu items, but the app only allows Pepperoni, Bacon, or Guacamole as custom add-ons. I know from working at a Subway restaurant in the past that it is just as easy to add items like Salami, or almost anything else, onto an order; yet the app doesn’t allow that. All in all, these issues with this app have prevented me from being able to order what I want from Subway via app. The Subway website has all the same problems. During this pandemic, that means I cannot order from Subway at all.

Curbside Pickup. Here’s a thought...McDonald’s has Curbside Parking signs with numbers on them so when you order curbside from the app, you pull into an available spot and put that number on the app. When your order is ready, they ( the McDonald’s employee ) will bring it to your car knowing the number you put on your app when ordering. Why not develop that same system with Subway instead of putting the model and color of your car and saying “I’m Here.” Because in reality, by putting the curbside number on the app, they ( Subway employee ) know you are here waiting anyways. Nobody cares about the make, model, and color of the car when ordering food. It’s all about getting the order to the right person in a timely manner. Also their are so many different shades of each color of each car out there. So I would suggest using the Curbside number system which will make things much easier and smoother for all ( for the patron and the employee ).

Did not work. This app would be great for big orders “when” it works. I took 30 minutes to put in a very large order. It said it went through and a pick up time. Came at the pick up time and found out that it had been voided. Called the bank and found out that they charged us for the order. 10 minutes later Subway voided the order from the bank too, nothing to do with the bank. Had to then get in a long line and re order our large order. What a waste of time! Called the 800 number they don’t care and told me it’s on the specific store side. All I got back from the store was a already formed email that they send to every customer who has an issue. Not ever using this app again. Waste of my time! No one cared to tell me how this can be avoided again or if I use the app again if this would happen again?!? If I want to make a large order I will go somewhere else that cares to have my business.

THIEF’S NEVER AGAIN!!. First I placed an ordered for delivery. Upon arrival I received one out of three sandwiches and the one I did get wasn’t correct at all. I looked to see if there was a way I could fix this through the app and there wasn’t. This was the beginning of my problems. I then called the store as directed by their page and was met with the most rude and incompetent person. She refused to cancel it/refund it saying there was nothing she could do. When I asked for a customer support number she said she didn’t know, when I ask okay how do we fix this? She stated in the most annoyed tone “I don’t know, I can’t do anything” when I asked for a manager she said I kid you not, “oh I don’t know” are you serious? When asked for her NAME she said she didn’t know. Eventually I just hung up and was going to dispute it with my bank but she did call me back and suddenly was magically able to cancel the order. The second time I attempted to use the app, I placed an order on the app for pick up this time attempting to avoid the same issue, the order stated it went through and they where “working” on it. However when I arrived the place was completely empty and closed!!! Not a single employee in there. How the app allowed me to place an order is beyond me. I had to dispute the charge with my bank since I couldn’t even call and corporate is a joke. Over all screw subway, NEVER AGAIN.

Broken. I tried to place an order with a coupon. Turns out the coupons aren’t accepted at my local subway. That’s fine. But the order said it’d be ready for pickup at 9:30 PM which was HOURS after I placed the order. I called the Subway and told them I wanted to cancel that order and that the app said it would be ready at 9:30 PM. They said no order came in. So I said that’s fine but I don’t want the order if it does. Unfortunately there’s NO way to cancel orders from the app. Here I am at 10 pm getting angry calls from Subway saying hey come pick up your food, we’re trying to close. I explained to them that I called and canceled hours ago but no order was showing. So when my order finally showed up they made it and charged me. I told her I wanted a refund which at first she wasn’t going to give me. Eventually they decided to refund my money. I’m not mad at the subway because it’s the app’s fault for not having a cancel option. I imagine after hours they had done forgotten about my phone call and fulfilled the order not thinking anything of it. Either way, I’m deleting the app. If my local Subway isn’t going to utilize the coupons advertised, there’s no real incentive to keep it anyways.

Says failed when my order actually went!. I'm not one to write reviews but This is getting old... This app is still terrible even after the updates. Twice now I have attempted to order and it says "something went wrong please erase your cart and try again" or something like that. One time I completely gave up and went somewhere else only to get a call asking if I was coming to pick it up. The staff was nice enough to keep it on record as an I owe you and redeemed that later. Another time I tried a second time to get the order to go through as the directions stated and when I went in to just order it the normal way they stated the order went through twice and one ticket had 3 meals ordered. I only told it to order one meal a time.. Get this SH@$ working already.. This is going on over a year for Subway having an epic failure of an app. Keep saying they fixed it with every update... Do you even use our test the app? Someone isn't doing there job right. I'd feel pretty miserable if I was in charge of application development! Hope they're getting paid well for nothing! Almost every other food ordering app from other places has a 4 plus most over 4.5 plus rating... I think it's time you take a look at how they are doing it. Maybe throw up the white flag and call for help.. You literally have nothing to lose. Rant over.

Good idea doesn’t work. Worst food app ever I think. It keeps clearing the cart. You have maybe 3 minutes to complete the order or you have to start over. If you manage to get an order placed you then find That it was a waste of time because regardless of what is entered into the app you will be picking up what the sandwich maker wishes to prepare rather than what you ordered and then you will be told that is your fault. You have to step them through making the sandwich. They have an aversion to not toasting a sub. I ordered 4 subs, none toasted as that is an option in the app. 3 of the 4 sandwiches were toasted and the one that was not was in the same bag steaming and getting soggy. They actually told me they always toast the subs and threw their hands up when I insisted that I ordered exactly what i wanted - app has choice of toasted or not, and I ordered not toasted, but that seems wrong to them. Lol. Meat on about half the footlong had to be spread out. Just awful. You have to actually direct every step or they will just throw it together with whatever toppings they choose. Or better yet save time and go somewhere else.

Frustrating app. Very difficult navigation in this app. For example, I can’t find a way to create favourites. I’ve tried a few times and can’t save any favourites. I should be able to click on an ordered sandwich and add it as a favourite. Also, if I forgot to change what store I’m ordering from, I shouldn’t have to clear my section and start from scratch. Also, it’s not obvious in the beginning how I can add another sandwich to my order. I recommend redesigning this app, focus on how people use it.

No coupons for Canada. What a glitchy app. It keeps freezing and I have to constantly restart it. I’m in Canada, and it shows good deals, but then they are not available here. So what the point of this app? Stop showing deals that we can’t get anyway. I will now stop using this time waste of an app.

No BLT Option… what the Heck?. BOGO offers online only and stores won’t offer BOGO promotions for walk-ins. My go-to subs is the BLT which i can order at every location yet i can’t order it online to get the BOGO promo. It’s like McDonald’s have their App promo deals and not having a Big Mac or McChicken available to be ordered online.

Need to have rewards card in Apple Wallet. Please add the functionality of adding the rewards card to Apple Wallet. It would be so much easier and more convenient.

(CA) No support whatsoever. I ordered through the app and when I got to the store to pick up they said they ran out of ingredients so couldn’t make my sandwich. They didn’t offer an alternative or a refund and mentioned they didn’t have a way of canceling the order on their side so they told me to contact support. Later I realized the only support available is through subway’s website via their ticketing system which after leaving multiple complaints I never heard back. I lost $25 to a multi billion company that doesn’t care to provide the expected level of customer support that a local restaurant/business provides. Avoid at all cost!

Can’t even subscribe. I downloaded the app. It seems I can’t even create an account since the app is constantly out of service. The only phone # in United States , while I am in Canada

Canada?. Why does this app not work in Canada? I go to start an order and it ask me to search for a location... enter city, enter postal code... and nothing.

Errors, Unable to order. Upon opening the app I’m greeted by an error. Every button I press gives me an error, sometimes the button works anyways, sometimes it doesn’t. Ordering doesn’t work, I’m provided yet another error. Dysfunctional and useless.

New registration. New registration is not working, when I key in my email, the apps keeps saying I need to use proper account. I tried gmail and hotmail still not working at all.

Terrible. When I search for my city or postal code, nothing happens, so I can’t order online.

Deleted. I want to select Zero Stars! I get that the app can’t know my local Subway doesn’t have the food I ordered, but why not let them communicate/adjust my order through the app? Instead arrive to find no order, just excuse and already paid through the app and no one knows how to refund!? Just go in and get a sandwich and delete this useless app.

No Canadian Offers?. I’m getting all these offer alerts but it’s not valid in Canada. Seriously? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m deleting the app. No point going there if there’s no offers at all.

Looks good, but it’s buggy and confusing. The visual element of seeing the sandwich ingredients is great. Nice idea, but it stops there. That’s it for the positive side. When I try to use the app, I get stuck in endless loops. The navigation in and out of menu items is nonsensical. It always seems to make me pay with ApplePay … twice for each order. It’s super, super frustrating.

Beautiful app, excellent functionality.. I don’t know what this app used to be a year ago, but it’s great now. I think all those low reviews are now completely unrepresentative of this app. Apple Pay and iPhone X support would be nice, but I’m sure that’s coming.

Wallet support. Literally downloaded the app for the wallet support it claims it has in the store. It does not have the support it claims. Please add this!

Couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.. This app was nothing less than garbage to use. Wouldn’t let me enter a payment method or use my existing Apple Pay. Items disappeared from the menu as I tried to order. All this app seems to be able to do is waste storage space on your device.

Apple Wallet?. Nice app. But according to the description the app supports Apple Wallet, I can’t seem to find any way to add the rewards card to the Wallet.

App never worked. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I have loaded, reloaded this app. Updated everything on my phone and have never been able to use it correctly. I can’t get my rewards as it always shows as an error occurred. I’m a frequent buyer at Subway so I find it unfortunate that I can’t take advantage of the reward option.

Location in Canada. I can’t locate any store in Canada.... so, this app is only for US ????

Needs apple wallet integration. Add apple wallet integration, super buggy seem to get errors on most screens even with running the latest version. Tim Hortons recently released their rewards program app and it works perfect and wallet integration take notes subway.

Tokens cannot be retrieved. It has been more than a week now and every time I log in to check my tokens, I get the message ‘unable to retrieve your tokens’

Don’t use this app!!. Horrible!!! First it took 10 minutes to get my credit card saved. Then I placed my order figuring I could save 30 minutes waiting in the drive thru when I got to the restaurant. Turns out I still would have had to wait, and I was pressed for time. The I tried to do “contact us” and it won’t let me!! GARBAGE!!!! All I wanted was a healthy lunch

Last update removed customizations. I can no longer make specific requests such as pre-crisping the bacon or wrapping each half of the sandwich separately, nor can I request extra toppings. This forces me to order in store. App is now useless to me!

Needs improvement. Discounts don’t apply and can’t even list participating stores. Some store locations your order won’t go through “something went wrong try again”. Interface is clunky and could be smoother and more efficient.

Good overall. The app is good overall! I just wish that the page wouldn’t have to load whenever you go back one step or tap to get to another screen. I just wish that I could add the loyalty card onto my Wallet app! If Tim Hortons can do it in a week, I’m pretty sure you guys can do as well!

Not user friendly. Just wanna grab something before going to work. Forced me to login when normally I did not have to. Who even remembers the specific, unique password for some random food app? So I tried to order “anonymously” without login instead. Information required to fill out are ridiculous. It’s getting more and more annoying. I don’t have all day, okay? Clearly they don’t want you to order through the app, right? That’s fine. On my way to work starving, I just discovered a local cafe making good sandwiches ready to go.

Wallet support?. Beside being confusing, the app is actually not that bad, but you know what really grinds my gears? No wallet integration?? Why? I download this app for my rewards, and I can't put my reward card into my wallet where ALL of my other 15 cards are. Can't even have a code to copy it into Stocard. Why? PLEASE take 15 minutes and add a magical button so we can add it to wallet. Lots of reviews talk about it, please do it. I much prefer double-clicking my side button to show my card instead of actually opening the phone, find the app, open the app, wait, find the card. I'm really disappointed that there's still no support in 2019. Please fix that and the app and it's going to be worth a 5 stars.

App needs work - NOT like ordering at a Subway shop. This review involves the remote ordering and delivery on the app. The process is very poorly designed. I expected that the app would be like ordering at a Subway shop but it is not. You cannot order things on the app like you can in a store - they restrict the available vegetable toppings and actually don’t allow you to add certain topping that you can normally just choose and point too. Secondly it’s a very limited choice of condiments. No Chipotle or Sriracha. No Ranch?!? Seriously. Items normally available at the store (like the toppings and chips that I know were at that Subway) were not available. Also at payment time it crashed and told me my payment didn’t go through, and I would have to clear the cart and start over, but it still charged my card. And the order did go through. But if I had redone it as the app said, I would have had 2 meals...Very disappointed in the app and it’s lack of selection to be able to create the sandwich I want. That’s exactly why I appreciate Subway. Don’t like the app at all.

Took the $, didn’t push the App order through!. IDK if Subway and Taco Bell’s App developers are the same people, because I’ve had the same issue with both Apps getting all the way to the Order Payment/Confirmation screens only to suddenly have a “Technical Error” and tell me my payment either rejected or just take me back to the submit page as if the order didn’t go through (because it didn’t) yet my bank account shows the subtracted amount, leaving the poor workers at the physical restaurant wondering what’s happened because there’s no order for them, and they have no App experience or even know what to do, and they’re stuck dealing with an upset customer. This happened twice in the Taco Bell app before I deleted it, but it looks like imma have to delete the Subway app too now. I have the latest version of iOS, my app is up to date, my card is activated, on file, and has funding, and I made the order in 5g WiFi in my house, so I know it’s not anything on my end!

Employees need app training. The app is buggy - kept making me delete everything and start again if I wanted to change one thing. It kept changing the bread I wanted. Subway REALLY wants me to have 9 grain bread. It made me do 2 orders instead of allowing me to just order 2 sandwiches. We couldn’t cancel our order when the sandwiches weren’t made. The big problem is that the employees of our Subway weren’t able to figure out what the app said. My husband ran in, they hadn’t even started, and were standing there totally baffled by our basic sandwich orders. He told them we didn’t have time to wait, and to cancel our order. It’s been nearly a week, and the charges are still on our account. We paid nearly $20, in advance, for sandwiches we never got. The bank is going to fight the charge. I love the idea of ordering ahead, and picking it up in a flash. That would be great, even if I do have to erase and redo the order a couple of times. But the employees have to understand how the app works, and there has to be a way to cancel a sale.

Terrible App. During the pandemic I get several ads for this “Family Takeout Deal” for the buy one, get one free footlong and you’d think every store would offer this right now. Actually finding a Subway that offers this is so impossible that it’s ridiculous and I live in a major city. I even called the location closest to me and asked if they did the family take out deal and the employee just says “uhhh what is that..?” REALLY? Their employees don’t even know what’s being advertised. They just pick and choose which locations will actually give you a discount and you have to take the time just to track it down if it even does exist. Because the “deals” section in the app is completely blank, I have to go through to choose a location, pick 2 subs, and wait until the end to see the cart only to find out that that location doesn’t do the discount.... I use to work for Subway before this app and things were a lot easier then. You’re driving business away when you advertise a BOGO and then your company’s employees know nothing about it

It’s ALMOST superb. So far I’ve had a superb experience while using this app! I’ve only had it for a week and have placed a order from it on two separate occasions within that time. It’s a great app, but it could still use some improving. 1) While ordering cookies, there should be a way where you can choose more than one type of cookie at a time. Also on the “my order screen” afterwards, the list of cookies you chose should be listed to confirm it was picked correctly should be shown instead of just “cookies” 2) I tried to order and customize a personal pizza and realized there’s no option to add ANY type of vegetables! It also only gives you three meat options, so I had to login and use the web version to complete that half of my order instead 3) there also should be a way to incorporate coupons before you pay. I hope to see these issues implemented in the future upcoming updates

Not letting me sign in. When i tried to make an account and half of the keyboard was cut off and it was also at the top of my screen. Went to safari to make an account because i thought “small bug for creating accounts” but no it’s the same for signing in. I’m deleting the app and seeing if anything changes in a month. I also really only got the app so i can count my calories because the website on safari wouldn't let me build a sandwich due to it being midnight and they’re closed. But i thought to myself that the app will probably let you order ahead and it doesn't. It also doesn't let you order as a guest. 1/5 stars because you tried and i’m sure its hard to keep up an app but you're a big company you should do better for customers and your employees. I say employees as well because i read a review that its been hard for stores to get orders from online/from the app. Maybe take those options away for a while and figure out how to make it better for your employees? Apps are very convenient but not when they aren't working.

Rewards? Yeah, when they feel like it!. Apparently, this company does not want my business! I have ordered twice on their app, both times assured ON THE APP that I earned rewards. This was weeks ago, and no reward! So, I bought sandwiches at the counter to try to get rewards that way. My rewards balance remains at zero. So today, while thinking about it, I figured I would go try to see if there is a feedback option inside the app. There is an option to add missing rewards, but you need the receipt. Now, why would I keep the receipt if the app itself informed me that I already earned rewards? In fact, why should I have to do the job that the app claimed it did automatically? I far prefer Jimmy John’s, but my daughter likes Subway. As far as I can tell, Subway doesn’t care one bit that they are shoving a customer toward Jimmy John’s! I would have preferred to deal with this internally, but they have no means for feedback within the app, so apparently, they prefer to air their dirty laundry where everyone can see it!

2nd Order was made right !!!. Ok I have to give them credit for replacing my order although i wish they’d dress my sandwiches like they did the second time cause that was perfectly correct it reminded me oh how subway first ever had me hooked the taste of all the explosions of the veggies and sauces was spot on I like banana peppers lettuce tomatoes olives mayo and honey mustard in every bite and their willingness to go beyond and make it right I am glad about as well the app was ok as well I liked how you can customize it how you want it althgh for future reference please consider 2x as a good amount then you’ll never go wrong cause commonly extra or double 2x amount doesn’t seem to be double but normal amount . But I am happy but i hope I don’t have to give a bad review or complain to get an order correct in future . Thanks for making it right guys .i was very satisfied with my 2nd replacement order.

Beware. Worked great the first couple times then I had an issue where it defaulted to a previous pickup time hours later than I wanted it. The people in the store said there was a 1800 number on the app because it isn’t actually subway’s app it is ran by a 3rd party so after scouring the app I see it says call the store to cancel. Seeing as how I had already tried this I decided to just go to the store where they advise me to just not pick up my order later and the order and pay then and there and that worked. NOW a couple days ago I get an email saying thanks for updating your app your order will be ready soon. SOMEONE HACKED MY ACCOUNT changed my name to their name and paid for their order in Chicago with my credit card. I live in Indiana. I call the number the email provided for if I didn’t make that order only for it to tell me they went all digital and to send an email complaint. Bottom line the app is INSECURE AND TO GET HELP ON OR WITH! Just order in store save yourself the headache. Shame on you subway for launching such a spotty app!

Awful experience. I downloaded the app because the regular online ordering failed miserably. And it was even worse. It took me 10 minutes to find the fine print to add/customize normal toppings. Next, the site kept telling me my local store was closed, when a phone call verified it was very much open. Next, after that ordeal, despite trying three(!!) methods of payment, every one failed, returned a random error and then I’d get logged out, forcing me to log back in and do it all over again. Same problems each time. Lastly, all the hmHelp or Contact Us links threw up a 404 Not Found error. Wonderful. So I download the app. At least this one shows my local store as open, but while attempting to build a sandwich, I notice that if you try to add multiple toppings from a category (i.e. cheese), it removes the one you’ve already selected. So if you want cheddar and swiss on that sub, you’re apparently out of luck. I gave up after this. So who knows whether the app would have had the same payment glitch. I won’t be finding out anytime soon. Tonight just became pizza night. It’s 2019, guys. Fix your tech.

Horrible Subs. Went to Subway on N. Main St in High Point NC today. Ordered 3 subs- Tuna, Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, and a Cold Cut Combo. I ordered through the APP, which was quick and easy. I came in as they were making the subs. The Tuna sub had hardly any Tuna on it. There was more bread and mayonnaise than anything else. The Chicken Teriyaki was ok, but the bread was hard. The Cold Cut Combo was down right nasty. The meat tasted old, the lettuce was yellow and lightly brown and very bitter, and the bread was hard. I asked for extra mayonnaise and they actually put the mayo between the meat and the tomatoes. Why don’t they put the mayonnaise on the bread like it should be done? They put too much mayonnaise that is oozed out of the top of the sub. I couldn’t even taste anything but mayonnaise and lettuce. This was by far the worse food I have ever eaten. Luckily, it was BOGO, but it was still not worth the $20 I spent. Someone needs to train these people on how to make SUBS CORRECTLY!!!!

Update is awful. The app used to be intuitive. Now it’s cumbersome and won’t let you choose options. Favorites are no longer easy to use either. So I have to rely on going to my history. Problem is they don’t give you any information on the summary screen about the details of the orders are so you constantly have to close and open each one to see if that’s the one that you would like to re-order. It also will not let you use your rewards and less you start from scratch on the order. So it takes away the convenience. And when I tried to place my order from scratch for a breakfast sandwich it will not let me choose a white eggs or mozzarella cheese I am stuck with the standard items and then I have to make all kinds of notes in the comments so they will even know what to make. It went from a nice app to a nightmare. I also find that text I get on deals I cannot use through the app so I have no way of applying the deal to my order. I am treated better as a customer that signed up for text than a repeat customer.

This app is a scam with its deals, so beware when buying your food. I got this app because I go to subway about 2-3 times a week, and I saw the BOGO coupon today and clicked on it, the coupon said “BOGO discount automatically applies in cart” so I was like okay awesome, so I clicked on it and it was not clear with directions on how to use it, plus I went to order my subs, and it NEVER applied the coupon, and I asked about the coupon in the store that I went to pick my subs up from, and they said “you already paid for it and we can’t give you a refund because your money didn’t come to us, it goes straight to headquarters” So now, I will not ever spend my money at subway until they get this issue fixed, and I spend a ton of money at subway, so beware of this if you use this app, because it is a total scam, and plus at multiple locations, I have had the workers skip out on some of the ingredients meaning that I told them a lot of pickles and they gave me 6 for a foot long, and I asked them for a lot of olives, and they gave me 6 of them (FOR A FOOTLONG), I have complained multiple times, but nothing has changed.

Do NOT order delivery using the app. The subway I typically go to is good and has good staff, however it doesn’t seem like subway pays attention to who the delivery drivers they hire are. When my order arrived, half of one of the footlongs was missing and the remaining 6 inch had been crudely rewrapped. I’ve never had an issue with the store and it genuinely appears that the delivery driver just chose to take half of a foot long and attempted to badly rewrap the rest. When I called the store, they said there was nothing they could do other than remake the order and have me go to the store to pick it up since they can’t put in complains about the delivery drivers either or do anything else about it. If delivery is going to continue to be an option through the app, there also needs to be a way to rate and place complaints about the delivery drivers. I will no longer be using the app for deliveries and will instead use Ubereats or any other delivery service when I find myself wanting to order subway again.

Please fix. Update: I tried to edit this right away when I realized it was a user error (aka my fault!) but apparently the edit didn’t save since I just received a response. The type if sandwich I was selecting was on...a ciabatta bun? Or something and apparently only came in the 6 inch option. It was not an issue with the app! Sorry! So I went to order subway which I’ve done several times without issue. This time it made me update before ordering. My son wants a 6 inch sub—it took me a minute to figure out where the 6 inch option was as I had to remove my sandwich and start over (it wouldn’t let me edit the size after I started customization). Anyway so I got it in the bag but then when I went to make my sandwich, the foot long option was completely gone. I tried a few different things, closed the app and restarted it and still, it won’t let me make a footling sandwich. I am pregnant and hungry and aughhhh! Haha please fix.

Always have problems in the store. I’ve previously tried to have my barcode scanned in the store to earn points only to be told either the scanner doesn’t want to scan it, doesn’t work, or some other reason. Today was the first day I made an order on the app and went to pick it up. Not only was my husband’s order wrong but the female employee was not even trying to see my phone to verify that my order did indeed include a 3rd FREE footlong sub. I mean...absolutely REFUSED to look and even MAKE the sub! It was paid for ahead and everything. The other employee there did look at my phone and verified that there was in fact a 3rd sandwich in my order but ended up having to pay for it out of pocket himself?!?! He shouldn’t have had to have done that for my order to be made as the promotion was for Buy 2 footlongs and get 1 footlong free. The woman who refused to look at my phone then said that I shouldn’t place the order online anymore and just show them the offer in the store. I don’t know what the heck is going on but this app is more of a hassle than anything for the few times I’ve actually tried to use it.

Simply horrible. I’ve had nothing but problems from the local subways, usually long (we’re taking an hour plus) waits because they refuse to hire enough people. I thought I could give the app a try. So I put together an order for the sub meals, being given several errors along the way slowing me down. I press the checkout button after spending about 15 minutes putting the order together, and then it comes up with “ we’re sorry, this location can’t take your online order right more”. Frustrated already, let’s try the other subway in town. I put that order together only to find out they aren’t honoring the current deal and it would cost almost $20 more for my order. Of course complaining to the store does no good. Last time subway forwarded my complaint to the store owner, who simply said to send him anyone I knew who might be wanting a job(this was after an hour long wait for a phone order placed hours prior). I give up, deleted the app. Forget subway and their horrible service, there are better options.

Total Garbage App. The quality of this app has fluctuated a bit over the 3 years I have used it, from as high as 2.5 stars to as low as 0 stars, which is where it currently stands. For the past THREE MONTHS, this is what happens: I peruse the menu and select what I want. There is no “checkout” button until you click on the “cart” symbol, so I click on the cart symbol, only to witness the app have a stroke (or perhaps a grand mal seizure), at which time it then says the cart is empty. It doesn’t matter how many times one adds items to the cart, the same thing happens when trying to check out. I made sure the app was up-to-date, even deleted and reinstalled, yet the issue persists. I first encountered this issue in Feb. ‘22, stopped using for several months, then tried again today assuming a company the size of Subway surely would have corrected the issue. But nope, apparently they laid off their IT department in order to pay their “woke” spokespersons. Subway: Get it together. A subpar IT professional could have easily fixed this issue by now.

Save me from the evil lady at Western Lights plaza. The woman at the subway I go to is horrid. I thought it was only me until a guy came to pick up an order and told her have a nice day and she ignored him. Then she treated my husband the same way. Everytime I go in I wait 20 mins for her to acknowledge me or if she does she will say “hold on I’m doing online orders” she was nice my 2nd time ever going in because I left her a 15$ tip my first time even tho she was terrible thinking maybe she is having a hard day maybe she had a death in the family. So the next time she was polite to me but that was the day she didn’t even acknowledge the other customer or tell him to have a nice day. That woman should not have a job in customer service but that is neither here nor there thank you to whoever made this app and saved me from spending another min with this wretched woman!!

Not my favorite way to order anymore. An order was placed at the wrong location (I thought it used the location a) I have selected at "my location" and b) the closest to me and NOPE it chose a location 20 miles away. I tried to cancel and all it did was tell me to call the store. She told me she canceled and for whatever reason, I was still charged. So now I've paid for two Subway lunches on the same day/time but only got it once. Now I have to go fight for my money back instead of this app having a more secured way of canceling the payment and not having to trust the store employees will do it correctly. UPDATE: I was able to send feedback through the overall Subway website and was corresponded with immediately and in just under a week (still a little longer than I think it should've taken) I did receive my money back. I had to go pick up cash though (he was able to refund my card for some reason).

Good potential, poor implementation in a time that’s needs this function.. Although the experience of pushing a few buttons and in a matter of minutes enjoying a good sandwich is incredible, I must review this app relative to other companies achieving the same functionality. This app is clunky and full of disruptive popup ads. It frequently gives errors and long load times. The favorites function is unusable. Also, don’t add a gift card to your payments because if it isn’t enough to cover the tab it doesn’t allow you to use an additional payment option to finish the order. So, if your gift card is worth $10 but your order is $11, you can’t use your gift card at all. A waste. Also, you don’t get notified about any progress of your order through the app. You’ll get an email when your order has started to be made. Emails aren’t instant so it’s often that you’ll never know when your order is ready. Hope this helps both Subway developers and customers.

WARNING-The app doesn’t connect to the stores. I have used the app multiple times to order pickup, but my last experience made me remove it from my phone completely. I ordered and went to pick up my food, but the location had ran out of most of their food so they could only fill part of my order. Then they could not refund me and said I had to dispute the order via the app. The Subway app doesn’t offer dispute options. It took multiple messages to their customer care, who didn’t get back to me until two days later, to get a refund. After their social media customer care told me it was the location that had to refund me. The manager at that location told me the app doesn’t link to the locations at all. It’s worth the extra few minutes to order at the location, cause now I’m waiting for a refund that won’t come in for at least a week. Don’t use the app! If anything is messed up on the order or at the location, you’ll be waiting days and going through Subway’s hoops of digital customer service.

Works great! But..... I love the app. unlike other reviewers, the swiping left on items to customize or remove is a breeze. My only criticism is the dressings selection. If you order a salad. there is no where to add a salad dressing, such as fat free Italian. I am only left with the comments area to ask for a Italian dressing. And most of the time the people at the subway location don't even read them. I always get asked at the window or register, “Did you want any dressing? I tell them,”I wrote it in the comment area!” Their response,” Oh we never see or read that area.”. OH BOY... sad. I think all dressings should be listed for selection. Yea you get the normal selections mayo, mustard, red wine vinegar..etc... but not any of the other choices. I hope the developer reads this comment / review. And seriously takes this request enhancement under consideration. Otherwise great app. No waiting, just stop pickup and go!

Does not accept payment. I agree with gentlemen’s comment from two years ago. The app may work sometimes all the way through the order and customizing your sandwich. When it came time to pay, I found my current default payment information had expired. There is no way to edit your default payment with new expiration date and cvv so I was forced to re-enter all my payment information again and save as default payment. After hitting “place my order” again I received a strange error message “Uh-Oh, error on property ‘update’ and on undefined.” Have no idea what this meant as I tried to enter the payment information four times with same error after hitting place my order. After four attempts I had to use the old fashion way of calling it in giving my order over the phone. Apps are supposed to make it easier and more efficient not cause you to waste your time. There is no way to contact developers thru the app except coming back to App Store to leave a review as your website wastes your time again giving no way to submit issues. Pretty sad!

Works Great If Order Is Correct - Good Luck If Not. Our order was not processed on time. The app said it was ready for pickup. The app was wrong. The store had not even begun to process or make the order when we arrived. We had to leave because we could not wait any longer. The employee was fixing customers sandwiches who had just walked in the store instead of fixing our online order that had been placed over 20 minutes before. For a refund, we were told by the employee that they could not refund our money and that we had to call customer service. But the employee did not have the customer service number. There is also no way to request a refund on the app or anything to troubleshoot should an order go unfulfilled. When we finally found a number using Google (because the Subway website does not list a number), we got an automated message saying that app order issues can only be handled by sending a message through the website. Which is ridiculous. Perhaps a troubleshooting tab on the app. Or a way to request a refund through the app. Anything but having to go to your website and click through to find the right form. We did submit an inquiry on the website. Five days later, no response. And certainly no refund. An overall horrible experience. We just wanted food on time. Or perhaps an easy way to get our money back when the store failed to get the order ready on time. The app, the website, and any resemblance of customer service from Subway all failed.

Stole my money. Normally this app works great. However yesterday I tried to use it. I ordered my food and pressed place order. It got stuck there. The money was pending out of my account but I never got an order confirmation and when I went to the store that was supposed to have my order they said they never got the order and there was nothing they could do. So I went and took out the cash from my account because they guaranteed me that the money would not actually go through. So I paid in cash and this morning my account is now negative with a $25 over draft fee and soon to be more overdraft fees because I have other things coming out of my account. There is no number or email or anything to contact someone to get my money back even though the people at the subway store I ordered from said there was. All they can say is they have nothing to do with the app and I can contact someone on the app. But I can’t and now this little mistake is gonna cost me $100 in overdraft fees. That’s RIDICULOUS. Thank for stealing my money and costing me more!

Racist, Rude, Unprofessional Manager at 4405 Elvis Presley in Memphis Tn. I placed a Order Online. Picked up order & got home & realized the Manager made our Subs wrong. I called & she talked to me as if I was a dog. She was yelling & over talking me. Stated she was remaking sandwich nor refunding even tho my order was wrong. The Manager was extremely racist, rude, unprofessional, unsanitary & the most rude person I seen in my life. She told me to leave before she call the police & told us to get up out the chairs and stand up. The police came & tried to talk to her about refunding me since the food was incorrect & I no longer wanted the sandwiches. She said NO. She was touching surfaces & picking up things off the floor not washing her hands then she kept touching everybody food as if she was trying to get customers sick. The Manager was completely violating COVID19 regulations. The food was never ate & I’m stuck without a refund. I will NEVER IN MY LIFE visit subway again with RUDE RACIST UNPROFESSIONAL Managers like her. SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. The location on the Subway is 4405 Elvis Presley Blvd in Memphis, Tennessee. This happened April 28, 2020 around 1:17pm

No way to cancel order or stop order immediately! Bad experience. I will neverrrrrr order from a mobile app again . I trusted subways app because I had been using it for the longest, and I can link my PayPal account to it.... however, SUBWAY in Fayette, MS on the other hand, has workers there who are not concerned about helping customers. I made a mistake and ordered two of the same wraps on the mobile app. I called in to the store to cancel one and the girls giggled and said No they couldn’t do anything. I then called customer service, they said they couldn’t do anything either all they could do is reach out to the franchise owner. How do you not have an OPTION TO CANCEL an order you just submitted not even minutes ago!!! No one wants to cancel my order and refund me my money. I never want to go into this store again. Hours later the girls call my phone laughing and saying these exact words “you need to come pick up your order” I said “I told you hours ago I did not want the order” she says “so, you already paid for it come and get it” and hung the phone up in my face!

Update Stores on App. I have used the Subway app 2 times and both have been HORRIBLE! First use I made an order from the app and went to pick my order up and the location advised, they were closed and no longer making orders. Which I had to wait 2 days and go back there to be refunded. The second time has turned me off completely! I placed an order, only to arrive to the location and it was closed! Also, was told by the station it was attached too that it has been closed for 2 days with no word on reopening. I tried calling the 800 number and was told everything is now by email, so I sent in a message advising of the situation and that now I was out of money for subs that I could not get and would like a refund. I received a message back advising “ Thank you for your feedback, our apologies on not updating our app, I have forwarded your reply to our management team. However, no info on my refund or anything! I would have given no stars if I could. I will never use this app to order food again!!

Can’t Customize Sandwiches!. UPDATE: since the last update, the app only allows you to pick a sandwich and add to cart. There is no longer a way to select 6” vs. footlong or to add/remove ingredients! Had to call my local shop to submit a pick up order! Please fix this. That is a major error… ———————————————————— The way this app walks you through ordering is very intuitive and actually fun. Pay through the app. Then, just walk in the store and pick up. Easy and quick. And if you do the traditional in-store order, having both rewards card and payment method in the app puts everything in one easy place. But if you want to pay cash or a method not in your account, you can do that, too. The only thing I don’t like is it only gives four protein options for the kids meal. If you want to get one that’s not built in, like tuna, it won’t let you customize the protein, and you’ll still have to order in store. Could use a tad more flexibility in that respect. Still, great app!

Subway app isn’t working. For two weeks now my Subway app has not worked. It keeps telling me my account information can’t be retrieved. I can’t even begin to list the things I’ve tried. Deleting and reinstalling the app. Saying I forgot my password and selecting a new one. Turning my iPhone off then back on. I tried calling the phone number on the back of my rewards card but they’ve gone digital and there is no human to speak with. I’ve sent 4 messages to customer care with no response. Just crickets. I’ve talked to the manager of the store I frequent. She provided some suggestions but those didn’t work. I called Apple and there research indicated a problem with some customers attempting to use the app but it’s not everyone. The app has always been great until now. And I would understand if it will take time to fix. My problem is the crickets. It’s rude and unprofessional to not notify a customer if there is an issue that is being worked when customer care has received 4 inquiries. That’s not my definition of customer care.

I was so excited about this app until.... Downloaded the app, created my profile, tried to add a payment method... no dice. So maybe it will let me after I create an order? Put two customized sandwiches in there, added a couple of cookies, tried to add a payment method... nope. Maybe it doesn’t like Discover? I’ll try adding a MasterCard instead. Hmm... still nope. Well, maybe I have to place the order first? Nope. Can’t do that either. I have an iPhone 8+ and a reasonably new version of the iOS (11.3). You folks just updated the app about a week or so ago. This is disappointing. 🙁 UPDATE: so I saw someone mention updating something on the website... and so I logged in there and - lo and behold! - it let me add my Discover card there. When I came back to the app, I fiddled around for a second and it let me order with my Discover card. But you folks aren’t off the hook! I should have been able to do all this on the app. So please fix that? Thanks!

This App Has Gone Downhill. Subway is the closest place to my office, so I go there all the time. The app usually is very convenient, but lately I’ve had an experience that is just frustrating and it’s been going on for about a month now. For starters, I am unable to apply the $2 off any of my orders. Errors have been occurring every time I’ve tried to use it. The errors have come up EVERY TIME I use the app now. It takes 2 or 3 tries for me to get a confirmation of an order. However I just found out a few days ago that even though the error occurs, the order still gets sent to the restaurant without me knowing, and I get double or triple charged for my orders, and I still only get the one confirmation. Y’all need to really try to work on the commutation between the guest and the restaurant and the app, because it’s ridiculous to get errors every time I try to put a order in and then get charged for a sandwich order I didn’t even know went through.

I would give this app 0 stars but the app, doesn’t allow u to that, like everything else in it. This app never works. I can’t pay with it, and I put funds of 50$ on previous version that had been working great. After I put funds sometimes at the beginning of 2017, somebody at Subway decided that they need to change the working app, with this one that don’t. After that for almost 3-4 months, my funds were stuck with no option in the app, to pay with it. After that this app came along and I tried to pay at least 30 time with it, and I did only few times. Sometimes the app is not working, sometimes the employees doesn’t know what to press to charge me. So today was the best: On international Sandwich Day you can’t use the app, because there is ad over the app when you open it, and it doesn’t go away no matter what you do. I still have some 4-5$ stacked in this app, and I wanted to use it, but I can’t. So Subway, would you do something about it? You are losing business because of this app. Happy International Sandwich Day to all Sandwich lovers out there

Curbside Pickup. Here’s a thought...McDonald’s has Curbside Parking signs with numbers on them so when you order curbside from the app, you pull into an available spot and put that number on the app. When your order is ready, they ( the McDonald’s employee ) will bring it to your car knowing the number you put on your app when ordering. Why not develop that same system with Subway instead of putting the model and color of your car and saying “I’m Here.” Because in reality, by putting the curbside number on the app, they ( Subway employee ) know you are here waiting anyways. Nobody cares about the make, model, and color of the car when ordering food. It’s all about getting the order to the right person in a timely manner. Also their are so many different shades of each color of each car out there. So I would suggest using the Curbside number system which will make things much easier and smoother for all ( for the patron and the employee ).

If you want your sub made properly, watch them make it!. Do not rely on the sandwich artist to READ the details of your or order even if you type instructions manually ALL CAPS. There is hardly any distinction between light and regular amounts of toppings. My best subway experiences have been outside of the app. Also, the app will tell you the sub is ready but when you arrive at the restaurant you will either have to wait in line or it hasn’t even been started yet unless there are no other orders or customers being helped. Subway, have your people measure out the amounts for toppings instead of leaving it up to them. There is absolutely NO consistency from restaurant to restaurant. From now on I’ll just stand at the counter and have them make it to order just like old times. Ordering in advance is useless.

Ripped Off, Deleting App. For some unknown reason this thing changed my order time to 3:35 PM when I’m trying to order lunch at 11:30 AM. Then it charged me. I had no idea it had set it for four hours later, until I went back to see when my order was going to be ready. If you go to try to cancel the order in the app it just gives you a number to call the restaurant location. The restaurant location told me they couldn’t even see the order until it was 15 minutes before the time. So there is no way to cancel this order, unless I sit and wait around to cancel it at approximately 3:20 PM. Well, I have a job to do, and I don’t have time to be thinking about canceling this order in their magic window. I’ll just go to Hardee’s. You’ve got $8.55 out of me, Subway, and I’m deleting your app. And I won’t go stand in line, so I guess I’m done with SUBWAY®. If I can order through the app four hours ahead of time I should be able to cancel the order in the app four hours ahead of time, or at least cancel it through the restaurant without having to be scheduling a call in a magic window.

First time used is now the last!. There is a limit of six for each order, so I had to have two orders. This app is not updated with locations that have advertised deals so calling each location before you order. Plus the new sandwiches are not updated which means maybe you won’t want BBQ on a BBQ sandwich. Due to training every location makes condiment sandwiches even if you request “little” or “light” sauces. On my second order I received two of the of one sandwiches and clearly made the order not this way. Disappointed after getting home then traveling back to the location to get my money back for just the wrong sandwich I was told NO. They could not refund just one sandwich and told me I possibly could go through something online. There is nothing on the app for this option. The only refund is for the whole order, at location, and then repurchase the sandwiches that were made correct. Thanks for the lesson in total $60 for two orders and not what I ordered. I won’t use app or order at locations again.

Love this app!. Some apps you try to order through just are not user friendly. You try to edit the order to your liking and it doesn’t allow it, or the app says you have coupons you can add, but when you try to it doesn’t apply to the order. I’ve never had any of those problems with the subway app! I love using it. I order my sub, select the time I want to get it, I go right to the location of my choose, and it’s there, exactly how I ordered it and for the price I asked for. I honestly have not found an issue yet with it. I have had the occasional occurrence where I go to order something, and the screen does not load, but that’s simply due to spotty service! If I ever find something I don’t love, I definitely will edit my review to include it! But so far, everything is good!

Thanks for putting family’s first.. True story, I didn’t want to cook Went in Subway 11th st. In Royal Oak I was blown away how clean and polished This place was, smelling fresh baked bread Was out of this world, after observing how clean the place was we walked up to the counter and when I tell you it looked it is if you could reach into the prettiest fresh cut vegetables and meats wow I had so many questions and the guys was there to answer seriously if you have not been in subways lately go to the one on 11 mile Road in royal oak it is so family friendly I promise you’ll come back over and over again seriously my husband and I can’t wait to come back again tomorrow and the next day and the next day until we try all the new sandwiches that Subway has rolled out or just go for a drink and be amazed of what a clean restaurant looks like. Absent Customer Support Even With Fraud. Back in June of 2022, I purchased a Subway gift card because of their promotion to get a free 6” for doing so at the time. I used about $10 that day of the $25 gift card. About a month afterward, I got an email from Subway about a visit at a Texas location asking for my feedback (I live in Illinois). I immediately created a ticket with customer service through the Subway website (because to “better serve” customers, you can no longer call them). I have still not heard back from them. I then decide to call the phone number listed on my credit card statement who was only able to redirect me back to Subway by “raising” the issue. The gift card currently has less than $1 because of the fraud that occurred by someone using the digital gift card at a Texas location. Subway does not care about this. They have not made a single effort to make it right. I am appalled with their customer “service” and frankly this app because that’s where all of this began.

Great app, but could use work!. I love the Subway app and use it often. I visit many locations and have found the app to be very useful. I mostly visit two different Subways near me, but especially the one closest to home. The Subway location on the app close to my home does not reflect certain information correctly. They offer breakfast all day, which is something I order often, but the app says they do not. Therefore, I’m unable to order breakfast at any point of the day on the app. They also have pepper relish at this location, but it’s not a selection on the app. I have reached out to Corporate about updating the selection criteria for this particular location a while back, and haven’t seen any changes. I hope one day they make these changes so I can properly use the app for my favorite Subway location.

Frustrating. I would like this app except for 2 things: 1) you can’t choose more than 1 method of payment for an order. We like to use gift cards but sometimes we don’t have enough to cover the total amount. I’d like to be able to apply the gift cards and then the remaining balance would be paid using a checkcard. But it won’t let me, so I end up NOT using the gift cards because the balance isn’t enough to pay for the whole thing. And 2) numerous times I’ve gotten my order ready and all I have to do is pay for it. When I go to manage my payment (ex: transferring card balances all on to one card) and then go back to my cart, my entire order disappears and I have to start over! When you are ordering for a family and have to enter it multiple times, at that point it would be faster to just go and order it in the store. Fix those two issues and I’ll give it a higher rating.

Wrong Order. So I ordered my sub off of the app to be delivered, when I clicked finish and pay the sun hadn’t saved what I wanted done to the sun so it just added all the sides of lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, etc, it wasn’t the same bread I picked, it wasn’t toasted or had the cheese or bacon I added. I called the store and they said there was nothing they could do because that’s what came over on the app. Then my food was delivered without a drink. The store wouldn’t come back and deliver my drink OR give me a refund, the only way I could get a refund was if I went to the store and by that point I may as well pick the drink up myself. I asked if they could give me a refund for the major inconvenience of having to pick up my order when actually I got it delivered and they said there wasn’t anything they could do other than give me a coupon… which was expired. I’m extremely disappointed with the app. It’s supposed to make everything easier when it really just messed my order up for the same price. If I get subway again I’m just going to go into the store.

Horrible every time. I’m floored this app has such a high rating. I find it very cumbersome to use. Today when double checking to make sure I chose the “toasted” option it takes you through customizing and then the “add to bag” comes up again. So I needlessly doubled my order and received 4 foot-longs instead of 2. None of those darn things are toasted either. Secondly, the stores I frequent are poorly run. I’ve had numerous occasions where they’re out of guacamole and then look at me like I’m from outer space if I ask if they reimbursed me for the extra charge. Today I got to the car and realized they sent me without any napkins. They didn’t see my special request to put the meatballs on the side of the meatball sub because- kids- and there’s no option to just custom order a sub with pizza sauce, pepperoni and olives. It’s all so frustrating I had given it up completely then came back thinking it would speed up our road trip. Now I have a mess of 2 extra sandwiches, no napkins, loose meatballs and a crabby family all around. Not to mention I bought more sandwiches than I care to transport or eat. I won’t be back.

Buyer beware... Been using this app for a few months now with no issues. But recently was visiting a family in Ohio and tried to use the app to make a purchase which has been a nightmare. The app has incorrect hours of operation! They charged me for 2 sandwiches and told me they would be ready at 9:30 pm. Show up to the subway store to be greeted by what looked like an employee who hated her job. She told me to come back tmrw for my subs! Fast food should be exactly that I have no interest in driving out to a location to claim subs I needed that evening. They have yet to give me a refund, how an app can simply charge you and have no way of processing a refund is mind blowing. Very disappointed in subway. FYI did contact customer service and was told the store would need 48hrs to refund and not worry. That time has come and gone with no refund. I love how all the responses are subway cares and to call them to make it right. Don’t bother unless you want to wait for 30 minute to talk to someone who can’t do a thing. App is simply a way for stores to steal money.

Clueless employees!. I wouldn’t give a star if possible. Ordered online, got notice food was ready. Got to the Store and order was not ready. Finally got order after they tried to give me raspberry tea with a cup with ice in it that was sitting on the counter in the customer area for anyone to use… Really! which is not what I ordered. I ordered unsweetened tea since I am diabetic! Had to settle for a water since I was told they don’t carry unsweetened tea. If that is the case then maybe you should take it off the menu. Once I got to my destination, I realized that my order was not correct. I ordered a tuna and cheese salad, I got a plain salad with nothing other than veges. Tried calling location and they did not answer. So since I can’t go back to make them fix it at this point, I guess I will eat my vege salad. Need to step it up Golden Hills Subway. I will never go to this one again. So trying to leave a review and keeps telling me name is taken.. I’m am sure this happens when you leave 1 star

To creators. For the creators … so I actually do like app testing and give feedback as a like side gig and when I use a new app I can’t help but to offer my opinion … when I was placing my order I had multiple similar items 3 subs and many cookies … well everytime i would finish one sub sandwich I was asked if I was ready to check out or continue shopping … Then when I hit continue shopping it redirected me all the way back into the main menu to navigate my way back to the subs all over again … which was irritating and I feel unnecessary. If the customer is adding their last item you may be better off to add in some add on items … preferably your higher selling ones per the general district area … it asked me if I was ready to check out so many times I got irritated and just checked out instead of getting the other chips and cookies I had wanted …

Battery drain. I use your app several times a week. I see several issues: 1) if I leave the app open after a purchase scan it consumes 80% of my iPhone 6s battery, this has happened several times so I have to quit the app after ordering. 2) the scanning at purchase for payment and reward points is unreliable. The interface given the cashier to use a linked credit card must be clumsy because I often have to rescan multiple times. This may be a training issue, a human interface design issue and/or a technical problem. I can’t tell from my side of the counter. But it is a problem. 3) the thin ribbon entitled “show card” is above the screen horizon and harder to find than necessary. The button/ribbon should be visible all the time and taller to make it easier to find and then select. The scrolling adverts are of no consequence to me. I always order the same sandwich in person. The subway joke of the day is a waste of space. I just want a simple screen to pay and get points. Put all the clutter elsewhere. 4) what’s with the free cookie reward? I apply the reward but the clerk either does not see the reward or ignores it. I shouldn’t be eating cookies anyway but why offer in the app if there is no intention to serve it? Fix these issues and my rating changes to 5.

This isn’t a critical or financial app. Look, I understand that you want customers on the latest version of your app, but this isn’t a banking or financial services app, and even many of those allow you to use the app, even when an update is available. Not that it isn’t already extremely frustrating to be forced to update when all you wanted to do was scan for points or scan to pay, but to make matters worse, every time you force an update you also log us out. most of us not are app experts, but all of us have enough apps to have an opinion regarding the difference between good app practices, critical app practices and annoying app practices. Subway continues to fall into the latter - you are not a banking app and if you have to force updates to patch critical errors (at every update) then perhaps you need new developers who don’t leave our data at risk every time a new version becomes available. And if that’s not what’s happening, then STOP WITH THE FORCED UPDATES & ACCOUNT LOGOUTS FOR A FRICKIN SANDWICH!
