Love this app. My surgeons office recommended this app to me and I’m so glad! It has been very easy to use, and I like that there are so many features, like protein and fat intake levels, that you don’t have to pay extra for. I especially like that it sends me out reminders to take my vitamins and water! I do agree with other reviewer‘s who mentioned that trying to add a new food to the app is frustrating, to say the least. The only real downside I see, is that it doesn’t really talk to too many other apps. For example, I also use “MyFitPal,’ and it does not sync up. So then I am left to manually enter in everything. Not a huge issue, but it would be nice to have this feature!

Awesome app!. I have been using this for 14 days now and it is incredibly useful. I am an old school write on paper kind of person but have been making myself use this every day. Yes there are some fixes that could make entering things easier but this is a free app so I don't complain. I think that the developers will make adjustments they just need to know what they are. Coming out of VSG surgery there were many people and apps that try and help you through your journey, this one is a good one. You have to find what works for you. My journal entries have allowed me to post my BP and vitamins/medications in an easy format that my primary care Dr. and surgeon could read easily with a swipe of the screen versus having to go through a paper journal book. Thank you!

Not set up for people with vision loss. I tried to use this app starting in the fall of 2019 however, I realized quickly that I could not use it because this app is not screen reader friendly for people with vision loss or who are blind. 2+ years later, I am back to try to use it again and there have been no changes made and it is still very poor. I cannot find certain buttons on the app because no one has programmed this app to tell me what the buttons are. For example, I cannot find the button to log my food or track it in anyway except by adding a note. I cannot add my water or track my food etc. I really don’t even know what else I’m really missing. I would really like an app that I can use like a regular person.

GREAT APP. I just started using this App earlier this week. I am really impressed with all of the details it has. The function to log your food intake is very easy to use. Yesterday I investigated the “checklist” section & I really liked that. I added several items to it & now I have all of my “To Dos” in one place. This is really helping me to stay on track & keep eating in a healthy way. It’s so much easier than having to write everything down as you always have your phone with you. I would highly recommend using this app to help you achieve your goals.

I love it!. I'm updating my review. I've used this app from the week of my surgery which was approximately 9 months ago. I love it all. It keeps track of my water intake, my weight, my food journal and even how I'm feeling for the day. It took me a few tries to figure out the recipe section but now I use it all the time! My only issue is the update, I has caused issues with my app. BUT I have contacted customer service and they are very prompt, very helpful and get the job done. I've tried other apps before and they all want you to update to premium and they aren't for the bariatric community. This is the best app you can use if you've had any type of surgery, whether you're pre-op, post op or maintaining. Just download it now, you won't regret it!

Fantastic. I love this app. Been using for 3 days and have not had any issues. This is so much better than writing it down and I can have my doctor monitor me just by handing him my phone. Don't have to worry about losing my diary or forgetting it at home. Who isn't without their phone 24/7. It scans every barcode enters all foods and searches all foods. I haven't tried the restaurant search as I'm trying to avoid restaurants at the moment. Just be careful as it will count protein on beans and my pre surgery food list, list them as starchy vegetables. I would highly recommend this app to anyone considering Baritastic surgery or just wants to be more mindful about what they eat and count calories.

Great app. Apple watch app would make it even better.. Love the app. Very helpful. Only thing it is missing that would put it at 5 stars is an Apple Watch app. Most of the tracking apps have the Apple Watch app with helpful complications and the ability to add water and food etc directly in the watch. This one doesn’t have that ability and would make it better. The other apps don’t track the Baritastic specific stuff as well. Still love the app as it tracks everything needed but would put it at 5 stars. Thanks

Cumbersome. While this app is designed to help bariatric patients the functionality is basic. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this app would not interact with or be compatible with MyFitnessPal. The 2 most irritating features is the inability to log food in a quick and concise manor and the inability to properly log workouts. I have to go on MyFitnessPal and then copy the information in this app. It does not make we want to log anything. Most times the food I want to log is not even in this app which is goofy. I don’t want to spend 15 minutes trying to figure out how to log a meal. That’s ridiculous! 2nd if this app interacts or has a plugin with the Apple Health app then why doesn’t it log the workouts properly. It haphazardly logs a workout. There is not calories from workout taken into consideration or even track for that matter. My daily activity doesn’t show on my report. My active calories burned and exercise does not even make it to my doctor for an accurate picture. Since I’m forced to use this app instead of MyFitnessPal by my doctor I prefer it to be complete with similar functionality. Please fix these plugins.

Very helpful. My bariatric surgeon’s office uses this app for all their patients, and I can see why. You can track EVERYTHING and it is very easy to use. I love that it shows your macros in one easy to read graphic, and shows your weight loss trends as well. It’s simple to look up foods to log and all it takes is a simple tap on the Star to add frequently consumed foods to your favorites list to make logging even faster. I’ve not had any issues or crashes, running on an iPhone 8 with IOS 11.3. It also links to various fitness trackers if that’s something you use. All in all, a+ for this app!

Can’t Send Food Logs. I have been using this app and had a couple of glitches here and there I could live with. But now I can’t send my Food Logs to my Dr. When trying to send log to my email to copy to Dr, the log won’t go to my email. I get a msg if not in my email in 10 mins, check my Spam. The log gets lost somewhere but doesn’t show up in my email or spam. I can emails log to my husband’s email and he receives the log. I didn’t have this problem before. I have tried multiple times, deleted both this app and yahoo mail and reinstalled. No luck. So frustrating. I need these logs to my Dr. The Help people can’t help. They tell me to do the things I already have tried. I explain that when I email them. Very disappointed in this app.

Much needed!. I was a couple days post op and needed something to help me keep track of my protein and liquid intake. I tried another app but it really wasn’t set up for those of us in the VSG process. This app has everything you need whether you’re starting out or already had surgery. Recipes include the things we’re eating and I love the simple interface. I especially enjoy that it connects to my scale and is an all inclusive summary of my journey since the start!

Overall pleased, truly free. I used to use my fitness pal to track calories and macros but they removed the barcode scanner… grrr. This app is a perfect replacement! Track calories, macros, barcode to scan food, able to add foods, search for foods etc. my only complaint is the Home Screen…. I would love to be able to see calories, fat, carbs, protein all at once instead of having to flip thru to see these (and NO CALORIES in this area!!) or having to flip to the diary and scroll here!

Valuable App But Lacks an Intuitive Experience. This app has everything you need to help you succeed before and after bariatric surgery. For those of us going through the process, we know how difficult it can be to monitor our water, vitamins, food choices, chewing time, etc. This app helps you to achieve all of these goals. BUT, the app is not intuitive. The interface is not simple. It does not support learnability or memorability. It is not easy to accomplish basic tasks the first time you use it. If you don’t use the app for a week or two, it is difficult to reestablish proficiency. The bottom line is that the app is an extremely valuable tool to get you through all of the moving parts of the bariatric surgery process. But, I recommend you start using it well in advance of your surgery so that you can used to it.

Recent update messed it up!. Now after recent updates I can barely get the app to load. And when I it does load I can’t log any food. This update messed it up. It keeps saying it can’t connect to the internet. I’ve tried turning off Wi-Fi and even just using my mobile data but nothing works. Before this I would have given it 4 stars. Because while it’s good it can be a bit hard to use. It takes more effort. But it was worth it. Now if things don’t get resolved I’m going to have to change to another app. Because logging my food intake is very important. It helps me know if I’m getting enough protein and fluids which are crucial since I had gastric sleeve surgery a lil over a year go. Please fix the app!! I’d rather not have to find another app.

Bypass magic!. I had a gastric bypass for years ago and have been keeping a diary each day since then. Keeping up with my fluid intake, protein grams, etc. has been a daunting task. I only found this app last week and what a difference it has made! I no longer have to try to ascertain the nutritional content of everything I eat. This app does it for me and keeps a running total. I love the fact that I can just speak into my phone and let it do all the work. The barcode function also gets a lot of use. I can’t say enough good things about it!

The Wheels on the app go round and round. Started using this app a week ago and i’m having problems with it. It stalls continuously in addition it takes a long time for information to upload to it and then sometimes duplicates information or sometimes doesn’t log it at all. I stopped putting in personal notes and other information because I’m not quite sure what’s happening with it. It’s not my Internet connection because I have high Internet connection 5G and everything else in my house and phone is working perfectly. Nice app if it works.

Very good, needs a few tweaks. It does everything it needs to do for free, which is a difficult thing to find in the realm of apps, so I’ll give it 5 stars for that, with the understanding that there are a few things that need improvement: 1. It needs a way to go to a specific date in a few taps. As it is now, the only way to navigate to previous days is by tapping the previous day arrow, one day at a time. If I wanted to check what I ate a month ago it literally takes 30 taps to get to it. A calendar where I can choose a specific date would significantly improve that issue. 2. Connectivity/speed: connection to the server gets hung up consistently. It won’t load food database or meal entries, the circle just spins forever. It takes a few times of opening/closing the app to reestablish connection. Very frustrating. Overall good app though.

Love the app!. I’ve been using the app for two weeks now on my bariatric journey. The app is awesome for tracking the things such as water, protein, fat, carbs, etc. I like how you can set reminders to drink water or take vitamins. My suggestion is to allow further personalization on the dashboard on the things the user would like to see. Such as remove the things you don’t want to see and add what’s important to you. Not sure if this is bug related or why this happens but if you have the widget added to your iPhone, it seems as though the widget doesn’t update the next morning (by resetting all of your numbers to ‘0’). You have to actually go to the app then the numbers will reset to ‘0’.

Best Fitness Tracking APP Out There. I LOVE this app! After sleeve surgery, I thought I didn’t need a tracking app, but BARITASTIC has changed my whole perspective! It has everything I need & a few cool extras! I’ve been able to increase my protein, water, & reduce carbs since using this app. I get excited when I see my total weight (since surgery) drop every day. My DR & many of his patients are on the Keto Diet. I showed the app to my DR & he LOVED it! He was using a very popular app created for fitness tracking. Not anymore. He now uses it & refers his patients to Baritastic. Love that Baritastic shows net carbs, journaling, & option for reports! Links to support group & creating reports. Not only is it incredibly useful, but it has a FUN interface. I look forward to entering my numbers. I realize that may sound weird, but it’s not a chore to enter your data - quick & seamless. Very interactive & extremely helpful to keep me on target! Try it out - it’s FREE! Thank you BARITASTIC, you guys ROCK!

What happened??. I would normally give this app 5 stars because I love it, however, since last night I’ve been unable to get into it. It kept giving me a “check your internet connection” even though everything was fine with my internet. During the night, my iPhone installed an update and now this morning I was still getting the same thing on the app so I went in and uninstalled and reinstalled it. The app looks different and now it won’t even let me sign in. This is extremely frustrating because I depend on my tracking to help keep me on track with my water and eating! What is going on with this app?? PLEASE don’t make me go back to MyFitnessPal!!!

Super Useful!. I am 1 week post surgery (RNY) and I have been faithfully using this app to track my food, water etc & it’s been incredibly helpful! Pre-surgery I used My Fitness Pal and it was ok. But because BariatricPal is made specifically for us who have (or will be getting) bariatric surgery, it’s WAY more useful. The reminders are awesome & I really like the daily journal to record my thoughts, take pics etc. Some elements can feel a little clunky and am hopeful they will expand the food & exercise data bank soon. But overall I would highly recommend using this app to stay on track.

Used to be great. I’ve used this app for over a year to track my journey since surgery. The most recent redesign and update is not as user friendly and the food search is suddenly MUCH more limited. For simple things like searching for applesauce it only gives a sweetened option, I have unsweetened Motts. It used to be in the app but now it’s not. Frustrating when you pack a single serve in your lunch at work but then can’t track it because there is no barcode on the container. In my “recent” foods it is showing me items I ate 10 months ago but not what I logger yesterday or last week. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update because I can easily track what I eat in other apps that allow me to actually search, too bad they’ve ruined a great thing.

App stopped working and can’t reach out for help. My app worked great until this afternoon when it stopped letting me log my food and water. It just spins forever and when it finally stops, nothing has been added. When I tried to submit a help email, it did the same thing and never submitted. So I come to the App Store to see if I can send a message to support but it just opens up the app that never opens or does anything if it does happen to open. It keeps telling me to check my internet connection, which is perfectly fine. I’ve updated the app and that didn’t help, my phone is updated and that didn’t help, I even turned my phone off and back on and the app is still not working. What do I do now? Can someone from customer service or support help me?

Useful but needs more. I like it. I use it. However when creating recipes of my own, not only do I like to see my actual recipe and use it. I like to actually SEE how much of what’s in it. It only shows the info I input for the recipe but not how much, how big an actual serving is. Now I have to use two apps. A recipe app I can edit in how much of something I see before and changed it if needed, make it have more or less servings depending on how well the recipe was used. They should also add a notes section to the recipe, this is where I put reminders etc. The other data is good. I would like to daily add my vitamins and meds. Some I don’t take every day. Some I take several times throughout the day. I’d like to annotate each time, not just the generic one they have now. It’s not useful at all. Overall I am continuing to use it but we’ll see longer term. Drs office recommended it but does not use it themselves so 🤷🏻‍♀️.

5 stars, full stop. I’ve used several logging apps, including paid apps. Baritastic is absolutely the best I have used. User friendly, great support. It shows me what I need to see in order to be successful after my VSG surgery. Some things that make it TIP TOP: it shows protein first, that’s the biggest goal. There’s a place for vitamins and hydration. Timers for drinking and chewing. The feature for adding my own recipes is AMAZING, just incredibly useful. Love that I can use different measurements in logging. My calories are displayed prominently. I can log my physical weight, and look back at my progress. Those are just SOME things that make this app the best. It’s pretty, easy to use, doesn’t glitch, it’s very encouraging. I’m super grateful to the developers for making such a useful tool.

A few updates will make it fantastic. The app is user friendly and links up nicely with my Bariatric nutritionist. There are a few tweaks in my opinion that would make us happy. (1) Nutritionists allow us to count protein shakes, Gatorade zero and herbal teas as water intake. This is standard across most Bariatric plans. I do not like to enter those as snacks and not see it under my water total. If it’s a protein shake then yes it is a meal and needs to be logged as that but also needs to be tallied in the water total at the same time. (2) It would be great to have the app give us more recipes. There is a limited selection. Maybe import a lot more and make a library of them. More is better. I think these adjustments would make this a 5 star app. Seeing these improvements would definitely move my rating to 5/5. Having this on Apple Watch would be awesome.

Great Product Needs Minor Enhancements. I have been utilizing this product and find it to be better than others for easily tracking the macros that I’m the most concerned about. There are two enhancements to its functionality that I think would go a LONG way. 1. You cannot currently add multiple items at one time. I think a multi-add function would be useful. And 2. It would be helpful if the daily log tallied up you liquids for you. For example, if I add a 12 oz protein shake, there should be a tally at the top for liquids. This would be especially helpful for post-Bariatric surgery users.

The number 1 app for weight lose. All my life I never was concerned with my weight due to always getting good reports from my doctor except for my weight. Then finally I needed a hip replacement. Well my weight interferes with the surgery. Then I learned about this app. Due to inactivity because of the bad hip it stoped me from any quick weight lose. But with the app I did a 1500 calorie a day diet and the weight came off on an average of 10 lbs a month. If I was active my doctor told me it would probably double. Thanks to this app surgery should be soon and if you need it try it you will never regret it. Ps This app stopped me from having Bariatric surgery. Any dietician can give you the proper intake of protein, carbs, fat, sugar for this diet.

Gold Standard App. I would use this for any weight loss or healthy lifestyle tracking. They should call this the ‘mindful body’ app because it really is a daily whole person lifestyle chart, but with that name, few people would download it. This is the BEST lifestyle/health app out there, and ogging your food here simply can’t get easier. Their database of food items you might log is ENORMOUS and grows each day. Instant charts are generated to give you immediate visual feedback on your progress. Download it, and enjoy a better life managed by you through Baritastic!

Should be great but.... This app is overall very well made. It has all the features you need after bariatric surgery including water logging for free. It tracks macros well. It’s intuitive and easy to use. So why only 2 stars? A lot and I mean a lot of the nutrition information is wrong when you add a food that’s in the database. There’s also a lot that’s not there at all. To address this they have a very handy “request a product update” feature that allows you to take a picture of the product and the package. You also use the same thing for products not in the database. Okay you say so still why 2 stars? Well it appears these updates go to an unused folder somewhere at the app developers offices because I’ve requested the same items updated many times over months now and nothing has been fixed. The new items I eat that are not in the database? Yeah they have never been added either. It’s really to bad. This app would be great if they kept up to date with the proper nutrition. If you use it be careful. You could end up quite a ways off on your macros by just blindly trusting their data. If they ever start to update products again I’ll revise this review.

Cool! Except... Must connect to an electronic device to enter activity and no vitamin reminder. This app is really cool! Very user friendly. Love all of the features. I wish it had a medication/vitamin tracker & reminder, and I also wish I could input my steps/activity. Unfortunately you must connect to an electronic device to enter activity. So, ultimately I have to use two other apps along with this one, because the features don’t exist. I will update my review to 5 stars once they have these two features 👍 For now, 4 star app because of all the cool features that do exist!

Great Accountability Tool. I have been using this app for 1 week. We are so “app” driven that I knew I didn’t have anything to lose by trying the Baritastic app. Well, except for weight, hopefully! You don’t have to be a bariatric patient to utilize this great tool. There is a place to enter your goals for water, protein, carbs, fat and even more detailed such as net carbs and sugars. There’s a place to journal everyday if you want. Even a place to log your exercise, medicines/vitamins and even you bowel movements!! I gave it 5 stars. It helps hold me accountable to myself. I also enjoy the reminders it gives you to drink water. All these items are specified by you. It is very individualized. Try it. It’s a free app. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great app, but 2 recommendations. This is really a great app, not just for those considering surgery but for those interested in a healthier diet and/or losing weight (like me). 1) I would love to see an iPad version that is formatted for the iPad, even though this works ok on an iPad it doesn’t take advantage of the larger screen. 2) In addition to showing the progress towards goals (of protein, calories, carbs, etc) at the top of the Daily Log screen to show what remains towards the goals. I’ve seen it in other apps and I miss that feature here. However, Baritastic is still my first choice.

Helpful post op…not so much after a few years. I really loved this app leading up to surgery…and then for a year or so after. I haven’t used it for awhile and I would love to go back to the beginning to see what I used to eat. There is NO easy way to do this! I can’t figure out why it’s not a thing. You should be able to click on a date and go back instead of going back day by day. I don’t want to click 65 times or even 365 times. Other than that, I do like the ease of using the app. It is very similar to My Fitness Pal but my surgeon is linked to it which is a great feature.

Nicely done!. I have only been using this app for a short time, but I find it to be very user-friendly. So far, what I have found is that using the voice feature doesn’t recognize brand names, that could be one improvement that I see should happen. Otherwise, the app gives those of us who have had bariatric surgery a quick look at what’s the most important. Getting in enough protein while not taking in many calories. I love that you can customize the look based on your own story. I am three years out from bariatric surgery and was using a different tracker which didn’t look at my calories very accurately or appropriately for my surgery. This is much more realistic and I love it!

It’s actually pretty good (compared to similar apps). I’ve used other similar apps before to track my nutritional intake, and this app is by far one of my favorites the dates. The seamless implementation of voice to text to capture our meals into register them in the app, makes the experience of using this app very pleasant. In addition, there are a ton of other features to discover. The only small complaint I have is that every time I enter an item for dinner for example, after I am done entering the item, it forces me to scroll down and find the dinner tab after each entry is entered. This is a small annoyance, but nothing to take away from the overall satisfaction with this app.

Best Tracking App Ever!. I have used apps My Fitness Pal and HAD a paid subscription to Lose it. After using this for 3 days and really taking the time to personalize it for myself, I cancelled my subscription to Lose It. I am so please with the simplicity of this app YET it goes into great depth for reminders; meals, shakes, vitamins, water, even down to “chewing for 20 seconds” for meals. I am so well organized with this app that I have full faith I will get to where I need to be. This app has given me a whole new boost of self confidence and determination. So thankful I found it!

Please make it more user friendly. I love this app, I really do. And it’s pretty easy to use, but there’s a definite learning curve. I have a couple suggestions: -retool adding measurements. As it is right now, I have to follow the order of measurements as it’s presented in the app. Provide the option to type in the measurements vs. having to sideways scroll through the inches. -in the weight section, provide an actual chart vs a list of weights logged. - in reminders, add an option for the app to remind every Xx minutes, XX hours. Give the option of a duration for the reminder. I.e- remind me every 4 hours m-f for 6 months. And an option to silence the reminder between sleep hours. -remove checklists completely. -finally, give me the option to use my flash, or not, when scanning UPC codes. -add a section in the journal to track blood sugar and A1C, just like I can report my BMs, mood and hunger- I use the free space to record whether I experienced dumping and what caused it. - or Make it possible to chart blood sugar and A1C.

The BEST For Bariatric Patients!. I have tried other apps for weight loss purposes, but Baritastic is the best out there for Bariatric patients. You can track weight and inches lost, which is so helpful when you’re losing weight rapidly; food, exercise, time your meals, remind yourself to eat/drink water/take vitamins. I loooove this app. One of the best things is that it can be customized to fit your exact post-op AND pre-op plan, and your docs can see what you’re doing if you choose to set that up. Also, there is a Baritastic group on Facebook (Baritastic Social) that you can join and help as a support group, which is so helpful when you go through a major life change like this. Absolutely love it.

Fantastic App!. As soon as the clinic recommended this app to teach food intake even six months prior to my scheduled surgery, I downloaded and started using it. Even though I’ve successfully lost weight four times previously (I’m horrible at keeping it off) I had never tracked my food intake and considered it a waste of time - that was until I started using this app. It has been so helpful and informative in helping me lose weight prior to surgery and I’m convinced it will be a critical tool to use after surgery. I am able to view my caloric, water, and other macronutrient intake with informative graphs. I am easily able to enter information into the app and it does the rest. Remarkable! With this app I can clearly see how many calories per day I’m taking in and on my Apple Watch I can clearly see how many calories I’m burning up. I have compared this with other subscription apps and this one is superior and, for now, it is FREE! I only wish the hospital I’m associated with worked directly with this app.

Fantastic Baritastic. Really appreciate the application after having a Gastric Bypass in May 2020. Helps me track everything I need for my weight loss journey from tracking and helping you reach out to others for support. There are a few places that are a little hard to use in the app, but I’m finding I couldn’t live without the app. I tried to use other apps but this is so tailored to WLS that it’s really the best. I also had a login issue and contacted support. I got immediate service and the issue was rectified quickly. If you are thinking about WLS or are anywhere in the process, this app is for you.

About to delete…. I used this app everyday for 3.5 months and it was great, but now the updates have made it extremely buggy. Half the time the scanner doesn’t work right. When I go to edit units I now have to delete everything when putting in a number where as before it would override. The decimal function is worse bc you always have to start with a number (even 0). They moved the add food button. But what’s the worst is half the time the app crashes or says to check MY internet… My internet is just fine, everything hooked up and every other app is working just fine. It’s this app and it’s becoming annoying that I can’t use it like I used to. I wouldn’t mind the scanner, decimal and number feature, or the add food feature changing if the upload actually worked. You guys really need to fix this update asap or you will lose another user.

A few fixes and this app would be great!!. This is a good food tracking app but having used others, there are features that I miss which have me contemplating going back to a previous app. The food database is limited compared to similar apps. You cannot simply look up a food item to see it’s nutritional value; you have to go through the log feature and act as if you are added a good fist. You can crest your own recipes but you cannot share them with another registered user, or follow friends for they matter. Those features added would make this app a 5 star rating without hesitation!

One week in using App. So far, I have enjoyed using this app. It is geared for someone who has had surgery (👏🏻). I like the mini goals in the weight section. ) One stepping stone at a time). The ability to say what I ate jade been fantastic and I like the fact of seeing Carbs and Net Carbs. (Takes the guesswork out of it). My daughter, who is contemplating the gastric sleeve process is using it and finds it fantastic as well! In the journal section it would great to see the SUBMIT button closer to the entry. I sometimes forget to scroll down to submit and have to re-enter. WONDERFUL app to use!!!

Photo timeline. So I love this app it is amazing. The only down fall is your photo timeline. You limit us on how we can track are images. First of all to start this u need several pictures full body angels at that to truly see the transformation. U need full body front full body side full body back and full body arms and legs spread out to see the flabby sink. You should allow us to do daily or weekly photo updates. This helps to remind u if the success when scale is stuck. Please change the way the photo timeline works. It is frustrating u should be able to log all the photos u want and make a video in the end. This will help all who use ur app and more people would love it more. A lot of our success is sight. Seeing the transformation. Being able to look back to see what it was like. I would appreciate an update on it.

Moved Over From MFP. I started using Baritastic based off a friend’s suggestion after My Fitness Pal decided to take away free features and start charging an absurd $20 a month starting in October (I’d been using it for 6+ years) I’ve tried several different calorie tracker apps to replace it since then, specifically wanting something that I could easily use enter my workouts into as well, and so far Baritastic has been the best replacement. The Fitbod app I use for my workouts syncs that info into Apple Health, and Baritastic pulls it from there so I don’t even have to manually enter anything! I’m not fond of the color scheme, but that’s really my only complaint. Otherwise I’m really enjoying this app and will continue to use it.

Very helpful tool. I’m 16 days post-op and was weary of this app to begin with. When I first looked at it I felt a bit overwhelmed. After a couple days I got the hang of it and realized it’s not that bad. In fact, inputting what I eat and drink isn’t as time consuming as I thought it would be. It’s a big help to be sure you’re consuming enough protein and water, and not consuming too much sugar, fat, etc. In my opinion, if you talked with a nutritionist about what you should be consuming each day, you could probably use this app to help with weight loss, even if you haven’t had bariatric surgery. (There are even recipes for healthy eating.) It’s a free tool so why not download it and take a look?

Great app for tracking everything!. I found this app through my sister. She had a procedure and found out about it. She shared with me. Even though I didn’t have surgery, I struggle with food addictions like many people who are overweight. I have tried other apps in the past but love this one! It is very user friendly and gives you all the macros built in. Also very easy to scan the barcode and voila! Everything is there. I have been using this app for 20 days. Down 12 lbs already and losing more. It is great to have the reminders to drink water, have a snack, etc. I can’t say enough good. It is my fav!

Great app overall-lacking a very important feature. Overall this is one of the better tracking apps. The barcode scan works great, and if it doesn’t recognize something, will have you send a pic of the nutrition label so they can add it to their database The feature to add your own recipes needs a lot of work. Adding foods by barcode works nicely, but the portion size does not show correctly on the confirmation screen. Typing in ingredients leaves you at the mercy of their software how a food is listed in their database. For example, if you enter “Beyond Sausage”, it only “sees” sausage and calculates for that. You need to know that the database calls it “plant-based sausage, hot Italian”. I can work around those issues though. However the biggest deficiency is that once you Save a recipe to your recipes, you can never go back to edit it. Say you make meatloaf with 85/15 burger one time, but 93/7 the next. Or you decide to skip the yogurt in your usual smoothie recipe. There is no way to go back to a saved recipe and tweak the ingredients. You have to re-enter the whole recipe again. This is a dealbreaker for me, since I never cook anything the same way twice. Love the vitamin tracking for all my post surgery requirements. Make the recipe feature editable after saving and I’ll go back immediately

An app for Bariatric patients. This is a Wonderful app for people who are preparing for bariatric surgery, who have just had the surgery, and those who are maintaining. The app provided a pre-op checklist and a post-op checklist. It’s flexible enough to modify and simple enough to use on a daily basis. I really like that you can add reminders and connect to other apps like the apple HealthKit and the Fitbit Scale. My only regret is the my medical staff doesn’t use the app to make a more customized experience, track my progress, and provide feedback based on my results. I think bariatric staff and nutritionists/dieticians should adopt this app for their patients.

Love it!!. Two weeks pre-surgery and I love that I can put all my appts in as well as a reminder to take my vitamins and drink my water...

Potential. Still in early stages of development? Have had to enter most of food... but see the potential. Easy to see dashboard with relevant information.

Data loss. I have been tracking my measurements for 4 months through this app. I got a new phone and uploaded the app and all my measurements have changed. I can’t even figure them out by manual conversion. I am devastated as I didn’t keep note of these measurements anywhere else and have no idea where I started. I have sent several emails and was told to change to metric which I tried and didn’t work, they have since stopped responding. If you get this app keep your information stored elsewhere also.

I am extremely happy, but one request. I love this app, however I have ONE REQUEST: Could we please find a way to be able to opt all measurements in metric system? I live in Australia. Converting everything can be a bit frustrating (weight, measurements of body and food/water tracking, etc). If you could give global users the ability to choose a system of measurement that best suits their environment, that would be most helpful. Your app is beautiful, and starting on my journey, I intend to use it. However, the ability to choose a measuring system to my living environment would be even more effective. Thank you.

Baritastic surgery. Excellent app with very valuable information

Update fail!!. The latest update I installed last night has deleted 1/2 of my entire food diary history!! WTF!! Many foods that I’ve had many times over have been wiped from my daily records. I’ve lost 9 MONTHS worth of diary information!!! Epic fail guys!!!

Great to have. It is a great tool to help keep you on track and record your progress.

Love this ap!. I love this ap it tracks fluid, weight loss, food intake the only thing that could really do with an update is the scan for barcodes. Still a very helpful ap!!

Awesome. This app takes the guesswork out of so many areas like food logs water intake and weight loss. The reminders are so useful love this App.

App will not open. I’ve hardly used this app it won’t open . I just get the picture with tape measure

Love this App. Fantastic App and great recipes

Life Changing!. App is just a masterful touch to add to your resources for anyone who has had WLS. Highly recommend!!

User friendly. I live in Australia and I love this app for tracking my food intake following RnY bypass Surgery. In particular I like being able to track my protein, set reminders and save common foods I use. I note though that some updates have changed the 'recent' category to exclude things I use all the time and instead give me things I used in my first few weeks after surgery. Very frustrating, but hoping this glitch will be ironed out quickly.

Protein counter. Easy to navigate Great protein counter Vitamin reminder

Great App. I really enjoy using this app, it helps me to stay accountable, but reading through your feedback it is very clear that you have a strong Australian user presence.. like others, I find it difficult to accurately use the app because it’s so American, please consider updating your database with even just basic Australian brands.

Everything at your fingertips. What I love about this App is that it allows me to record all that is needed following my bariatric surgery. Everything at a glance. Brilliant!

Really easy. This is a super easy app to use! I hate tracking so I’ve had this for a while without using it but I’ve been using it for about two weeks now consistently and I’m finding it better than others I’ve tried. It would be almost perfect if it recognised Australian brands, I’ve had to load almost everything packaged myself and sometimes I have to guess what fresh food is listed under - pepper instead of capsicum etc. definitely recommend!

Useful and easy. Tracking keeps you honest. I have used this app for a year, since surgery. Developers have improved it during that time and hopefully will keep doing so. Needs more Australian brands/ foods but other than that it is a helpful app, easy and quick to use.

Fantastic App !!. Great App, easy to use and great features 😊

Support network. So far the app has been helpful in helping me track & achieve my weight loss goals.

The update has not improved the app. The new way it deals with the “My Foods” section makes it very hard to correctly log what you’ve had. Considering swapping to a different app now, which is a shame. It’s not that user friendly to log your goals, etc. either.

Great and helpful!. This app lets you get prepared for your surgery and all the milestones that happen along the way. It’s the better app of any weight toss app I’ve used.

This is a great App if it works all the time. I started the app I thought it was great, went through all the trouble to enter all my details but now it has stopped working and can not open it 😔

Awesome App. Easy to use and great info for me

Can't get it to work. When starting the app you are asked to enter your current wright, your desired weight and your height. I enter the two weights and then every time I get to the height, the app locks up. I have tried on two iPhones and an iPad and have the same problem everything.

Best app. This app does it all. It's your one stop shop for all your pre and post op tracking. Love it.

Love it. Easy to use, actually works

Mostly great!. I love his app. It helps me so much. It’s very Americanised though. I would be good to be able to have kilojoules as an option and not just calories and also add water in ml increments rather then the set ones. Also would be good if I could link it to my Aussie Facebook support group. Still an excellent app for tracking! I will continue using this 👍🏾

Needs to have metric measurements. I think this is a great app, but I won't use until it allows metric measurements. Needs to be usable for Australia ! Come on Baritastic make it metric friendly !

Happy happy happy. At first glance after logging weights, measurements, pics for timeline and my first lot of food I found this app so easy to use. So far I love it. Now if it can just help me over this stall!!! No complaints.

Mostly perfect. This app has it all. The database for barcode scanning (to add foods in the tracker) will grow as more people download and use the app. There seems to be a slight glitch when opening from locked screen through a reminder banner, but then I only have an iPhone8. Otherwise I’m really enjoying using this app with all it’s many useful features. Much cheaper than a journal, and easier to use. Thanks guys 🙂

After surgery. My sister recommended this app so I thought I’d give it a trey as I only had my surgery on the 30th July 2019. I was astounded by what is in this app. You haven’t missed anything. I’m looking forward to using the recipes. Thankyou to whomever made this app.

Good app, but not great.. Just downloaded as I wanted to see how the app was, as its good for tracking surgery etc. would love to see some updates to the following: -Bluetooth Smart Scales outside the 2 options already given (eg, Eufylife smart scales etc) -All metric or all imperial measurements (there are some parts of the app like food tracking that switch to imperial instead of metric, even though most other things are metric measurements, weight under steps is also in imperial) Otherwise quite an intuitive app and hope to see some improvements in future updates.

Awesome app. A+

Love it. Only found this now I'm 10 days post op. Which I'd known about it soon, it's so good to have all my tracking in one place. I really love the reminders and chewing timer too. Would be so good to have more Australian barcodes recognised though.

My favourite even without surgery 🔪💉. I love some of the features of this app. I prefer much of it to MFP especially the individual goals, that I can set macros and calories at what my health care team says is best for me, I love the journaling and photo options, there are so many things that even without bariatric surgery make this a better app for me!! On the down side, I find the weightloss so far graph annoying that I can't see it on one screen. Also, being a newer app there are less foods on there when you search but that is a small price to pay when you can set your own macro and calorie goals 💖💖💖

Just what I wanted. This app is exactly what I needed to keep me on track with such ease. Love the create recipe where I just write the recipe in and it works out the nutrition value for me. Just excellent.

Measurement section needs improvement. Man the measuring tool is hard to use.. it’s so sensitive so you spend ages slowly swiping trying to get the right measurement, the when it saves it saves the incorrect number. Don’t even think about breathing whilst trying to input a number- it’ll move your finger! Honestly, no one needs the ability to input more than the standard measurements.. 0.00 (2 decimal place) numbers don’t need to be in there like 43.89.. that’s the only thing letting this app down.

Amazing app. I’m 16 weeks Po and have just started using this full time. It has amazing in app things to do, I especially like the measurement part and the timer. Keep up the good work.

Error with new update. Hi, since downloading the latest update my app will not open. It spins like it is loading then times out and says to check internet connection, which is working fine

App fault. Cannot Input a password when signing up. The keypad bit just goes blank! iPhone 8 I believe. Very disappointing!

Multi faceted. Whilst I don't use this app as much anymore it was great for resourcing at the beginning of my journey .. very multi faceted 😊

So far it is doing what I want and expected.. Helpful, clear, easy to use.

5 Star Awsome. The Baritastic Ap is amazing. So helpful with my weight loss journey.

Best tracking app I’ve used. I have tried a few different apps in an attempt to track my eating, drinking water better, and this easily surpasses any of have used. Would like it to be in kjs instead of calories, and reference Australian foods as well. But with everything else being good, I can live with these things.

Not bad. All of my measurements have suddenly messed up and aren’t showing the previous correct measurements. It’s really upsetting because I loved tracking my progress after weight loss surgery and now I can’t.

Great support!. I just had my surgery and have been using the app to track my life before and after surgery. Even my surgeon was impressed after seeing this wonderful program. Thank you to the great person/s who devised this. Recommend this App for persons considering or having had a bypass. Thank you.

Excellent. Found app when having first sleepless post op night in hospital 👍🏽

My new favourite App. Stumbled upon this fantastic tool to help with my weight loss journey . Love being able to speak to log food in . Added bonuses are reminders for vitamins and keeping a diary entry when I want . Love love love this App. Thanks Deb

Best tracker. Helping me to stay on track with hydration, protein allowance for the day etc. also assists me greatly with the timers when to eat/drink as it's all very new to me! 😄

Great app, especially for new patients. A great app catered very well to people who have had or are going to have bariatric surgery. I would love to see a version that is catered more toward people who are 2+ years post-op as some of our needs are different from people who are pre-op or newly post-op. I’ve lost 125 lbs thanks in-part to using this app as one of my tools for remaining aware and accountable. Thank you, Baritastic!!

Recent Update. Sine the update 6 days ago, my time stamp won’t enter the time I select. It only logs the present time ☹️. Please fix. I really like this App.

Ease and practical. Love this app. Wish it was in french

Measurements. App is good. It would have been great if there were more options for food measurements.

Awsome app to track. Until now im loving it So simple and easy yet detailed!

Baritastic. Excellent app , I’m love with it makes my journey a lot easier !!!

French. It would be nice to have the app in French.

Good but could be better. There are many things about the app that are awesome, but it could be drastically improved by adding the ability to multi-add food in a meal, type in measurements instead of scrolling, and being able to add in additional areas to be measured.

Great tool!. This app is excellent. Many other food intake apps over estimate post Bariatric calorie needs, saying “you need to eat more”. However this specialized app reflects true calorie needs to assist weight maintenance post surgery. Thank you!

Misleading Values, Lack Of Customization. I love the concept of this app... And it does have a lot of good things, but there are a number of things that make it not ideal. A) My number one concern is it showing me I have consumed more than I actually have. When I adjust the nutritional values with a decimal point, it rounds the number. Thus having me either consume more than it shows, or less than it shows. And having to consume a minimum (or maximum) amount, this makes the rounding a big problem. B) Not being able to use different measurements for different things is inconvenient. (Measure height in feet/inches, but want mL for water instead of oz). C) Not having more than one “snack” recording slot that shows up in chronological order of consumption doesnt make it easy to see the true daily intake and where self improvements are needed. D) Also, it would be nice if more nutritional values could be tracked.

Wonderful app. I would recommend this app for anyone who wants to track their meals - not just those who are part of the bariatric program. I love the speaker option and how extensive the food selection is. Plus NO ads or asking to upgrade to reap all the benefits of the app.

Fantastic App. Does everything it says it will do! Amazing tool!

Limited Reports and No Net Calories. The app is good but I would like it if it showed net calories after exercise and step count are counted. Also, the reports only go back 30 days and there isn’t an option to set different date ranges.

Great App. I love this app. I was using it prior to my weight loss surgery and have been using it daily since my surgery... My only suggestions for improvement would be to allow us to add food into the memory without adding it to our daily food log and please add a decimal point for those of us who are adding nutritional info from a recipe :)

Carb counting. Great tool for carb counting and watching net carbs. Easy to use.

Review. My friend who is in the process of going threw surgery, suggested this app because I have some health problems and was trying other calorie apps, so I just downloaded the app a few days ago and really like the interface. It is very easy to use and appealing to the eye. I just wish it would give me suggestions on food I should be adding to my diet.

Great 👍🏽. I love this app it has been so helpful so far on my journey.💞💞💞💞💞

It’s great but. It’s easy to use, set up meals and faves, I wish it would play nicer with other apps. But the biggest annoyance is it crashes regularly. I’d use something else if it wasn’t for the fact I’ve been using the app for a year and half now, I can’t face setting up all the meals again. I’m actually surprised at how much I find that isn’t in the database. I do love how it tracks the weight lost since surgery and the measurements, pretty cool.

Great. Easy to use

Great App. Love this wonderful keeping track of everything

Great!!. Love the graphics! An everything is easy and intuitive to use!

Using for tracking Keto diet. Very happy so far. Easy to use. I like it tracks net carbs.

Can’t get past the first screen. Keyboard will not show up so I can enter actual and goal weight. Only option is next button.

Amazing. This app has helped me stay on track and I have lost 72lbs since starting this journey!!! Thank you Baritastic!!! Still losing... Annette Kingston, Ontario Canada

Lovin this app. This app makes life & accountability so much easier. Use it before you put something in your mouth...

Not working. Been trying to log in my daily’s and it won’t load. I deleted and redownloaded and now it won’t log on. Otherwise this is an amazing app. Please fix these bugs!

Great app but….. I wish there was a proper iPad version. It’s so much easier to use my iPad and this app is designed for an iPhone.

Won’t load. Was really loving the app, very user friendly. Was trying to log in my meal and the app wouldn’t respond (open). Deleted and reloaded app and now can’t even log in… help.

My Journal. I really enjoy using the Baritastic program. I find it to be very user friendly from tracking my food intake, water and exercise to weight loss and inches lost. I love the daily reminders for my vitamins and supplements...it is pretty close to a personal assistant. Now if it could just fold laundry!

It has all the bells and whistles I need!. Great app. Does speech-to-text well. Keeps track of food, supplements, Mood, excercise, Nutrition, hydration and even BMs! Great app for those considering bariatric surgery or post-surgery. Wish list: • Ability to enter a recipe and divide by portions. • easier cut and paste for moving around entries

Best app ever and great support!. This app is so complete and user friendly! I love it!

Like the easy way of logging. Don’t like that it’s oz

Synching doesn’t work. I have always used my iPad Mini AND my Samsung phone to enter my meals. For the past few days, the meals won’t sync between the 2 devices. My phone shows all my ,ears since Nov 2020 and my iPad shows no meals the past few days. Very frustrating! Looking for other tracking options. I really love Baritastic but not if I can’t track my meals. It’s not a total synching issue though...I entered my weight on my phone and the lower weight appeared on the iPad...it’s just the food intake screen that doesn’t update.

Best yet. I love how I can keep track of protein grams. And the text to speech function. Best app I’ve seen for journaling food.

Has merits but not great for non-Americans. Layout and features are pretty good but I find the food listings for meals focus way too much on processed foods. Finding raw foods in the lists often means wading through dozens of brand name items before finding the basic food. It also needs more work on being able to recognize compound words in the voice option (ie sirloin steak is one food not two different steaks eaten at the same time). And like Siri, it’s voice recognition does not work well for various accents.

Like Fitness Pal for Bari-s. Downloaded yesterday, so far so good. A few annoying things with navigation to Internet.

Thumbs up!. Great app!

Food list. Still need a more extensive food list with appropriate nutritional information. But I like the time stamp availability which you don’t get on a lot of other apps and is good for this purpose.

Great app. I’m very pleased with this app. It’s a great one to use to help you keep track of your Keto macros. Definitely recommend

Amazing App!. Incredibly helpful keeping track of everything. Great recipes too!

Great app!. I’m happy that I have found an app to help me track protein since my RNY. Thanks!

Update messed it up. I can’t even open it since the latest update :(

Keeps you on track. Excellent for building habits! I like the recipe section! More for long term post surgery people would be good. How to get back on track and weight gain.

Best app. The only app I stick with and works for me!!!

App not responsive. Everything was working fine until the app went unresponsive. You can click on the plus sign, but to get into adding your food, weight and all other signs you could get into.

Thank You!. This is an overwhelming and at times daunting process. Since I got this app- a “new calm” has come over me and a sense of self empowerment. There is so much we are newly accountable for on this journey and this has been a handbook of sorts for me. It has given me a clear path and direction and has truly been an excellent learning tool and a guaranteed key to surefire success if I am doing my part. I could not be bothered with food tracking before as; it was so overwhelming calculating carbs, calories, fat and portion sizes etc. I would get so frustrated it would literally bring me to tears. This is also an expensive journey with the supplements, protein and liquid diets for pre and post op and the travel, as; my surgeon is three hours away. Thank you for making this available to people free of charge and without in app purchases. You are helping people to better themselves, their health and lifestyle while teaching it in a manner that makes it all second nature and sets you up for lasting success - it is nice to know that this is more than a business venture to the app’s creator. Thank You, Wife and Mom of three with a new found self confidence and renewed commitment to self.

Newbie. Great eye opener! Helps you to see what you are REALLY consuming!

Great stuff?. Great app for tracking! Easy to use, track personal progress and breaks food down into different areas ie carbs, proteins etc which helps in attaining daily counts!

Great app!. Great app! Wish it would also track glycemic values, but quite complete otherwise!

Terrible app. They don’t update newly scan items into the system Lots of errors that aren’t corrected when reported They don’t answer emails Would love to create a recipe from a recipe, so if I make home made sauce and use it in a homemade lasagna for example When creating a recipe and your scanned item doesn’t show you can’t do a quick add I’d love to be transferred all this data to fitness pal.

Inconsistent data and updates never get processed. Watch what you scan. The data on scanned items is inconsistent, and has to be frequently edited. I like that the app lets you submit updates for incorrect data, but those updates never get processed. I’ve submitted the same item that’s not in the database three separate times, and it still isn’t uploaded. If this was fixed, it would be a five star app because the other features are perfect.

Best Tracking App. This app is awesome at tracking. I love the goals it sets for you and your are always aware of your weight. The only issue I have is that the barcode reader for tracking nutrition and calories doesn’t always work properly. It sometimes is very difficult to get it to scan barcodes.

Not very user friendly. In theory this app is great, in practical use, not so much. The setup for adding food, creating meals, and creating recipes is a nightmare. It doesn’t log correctly and it’s fairly convoluted. Lots of trial and error and still cannot get it to accurately create a recipe with the serving sizes and want and the correct counts. I was really counting on this for an awesome free app, but guess I’ll head back to MyFitnessPal and pay their monthly fee. I’d rather pay than have something free that only partly works 😕

Way better than MyFitnessPal. MyFitnessPal changed their whole interface, barraging you with ads, making it difficult to enter in your meals, and started charging for features that used to be free. Baritastic has a much easier interface and provides you with the info you need without making you search for it.

Amazing for those who do Bariatric surgery. I am on day 3 of my Pre-Op diet, and this app is life changing. I get to monitor protein, fat, carbs, calorie intake, etc... Let’s not forget you can scan labels, set reminders on when to drink water, take vitamins, etc..., and put in a photo each month to display the physical changes while you are on your Weight-loss journey! I am using this app religiously. It’s great! ! ! 🤩

Great Bariatric App!. I had fallen off the wagon and decided to hop back on. This app is helping me track, get recipe ideas etc. I love that I can set my own goals for macros and weight and it allows me to break my weight goals into segments. I love the type in meal feature and it pulls it up automatically rather than searching a list. I have yet to scan a barcode it hasn't had info yet!

My perfect tracking app. I love this app!!! I’m able to track all my intake almost accurately. I’m also able to see my progress since before to after surgery. The only issue is if I get anything to eat from outside and only take 2 bites and be full i can only record a full serving and not partial. That’s the only downfall. But I still live this app.

Glitching Something Terrible. I’ve been using this app for 15 months on an iPhone XS Max with no issues, it’s actually been amazing and I love it. I upgraded to an iPhone 14 Pro and I’ve nothing but issues on all aspects. I even have issues getting the app to load. Idk if it’s the new phone and the app just needs an update but I’m frustrated and disappointed. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again and still hasn’t changed the issues. If this wasn’t the case I’d give the app 5 stars.

Five stars!. I love this app! It helps me recognize what nutrition I need for the day and I feel motivated by this app to make it happen. It equips me with the tools to make the right decisions throughout my day and challenge myself to reach my goals. I recommend this app to anyone, whether they are trying to lose weight or not, because it helps you realize what you are putting into your body and identify areas that you need to work on.

4of5. Love the app, but... First I guess I just wished my “Program” had a “Program Number” to have some help with setting up things... maybe Baritastic can provide a General/Generic help guide... or have the Dr’s fill out a complete separate form with out the risk of “Invasion of Privacy” or security being an issue... or what ever the reasons Centers aren’t in the Baritastic app boat... Second... why not have an Apple Watch version? Maybe cuz I don’t have the watch “yet” I don’t see it working anyways but it’s not showing on the options... Finally... I just love the app but still discovering and using the the how to videos are helpful and makes me realize I’m needing to put more input... maybe some coupons on atleast some basic items like water bottles, scales, and food?

An app for everyone. I’m preparing for WLS. To prove my commitment, I have been trying to lose some weight pre-op. I had been using Noom to count calories, which has been fine. Baritastic is so much more nutritionally comprehensive. Plus, the added tips and reminders are getting me in the post-op mindset. I’m still discovering things about the app. In my next chats with my dietician and surgeon, I will see if I can direct link my records and progress to the app.

Best there is. Whether you are a bariatric Patient or not it doesn’t matter this is the best app to login food, keep track of your water intake, keep track of your weight loss or inches lost. and the reason I say that is because it’s very simple, very easy to use. I was using my fitness pal for a long time and it’s just so much easier to use this one. I mean who has time for complications! and this has kept me motivated more than anything

Just ok, need improvement. Its mostly a really good app but the option to create a recipe is horrible, you can’t search for ingredients to add to the recipe, you can only scan or type in “onion” for example. But you can’t type in how much or change the quantity or calories or anything. Highly flawed to the point of being useless if you make whole food items from scratch. Extremely disappointed in this feature as I find it a very important feature to help track home made food.

This is it. In the past I used Lose It, My Fitness Pal and few other food and exercise trackers. As a bariatric patient, I was happy to find Baritastic. Now the only two apps that I use is Fitbit and Baritastic which syncs with Fitbit. Baritastic allows for easy tracking of both nutritional intake and activities. Finally, I found an app that has components that will help me to stay on track.

Great, but learning curve. This app is really helping on my bariatric journey. It has so many features that you do need to watch the in app videos on how to use. There are so many built in food choices, that I had issues until I found you could enter fractions of serving size like if listed nutrition was for a 1 cup serving you could change serving size to .25 if you are having 1/4 cup. Exercise section is oddly specific, and I need to create my own entries.

User friendly. I absolutely love this App!!!! I recently had the Gastric Sleeve procedure done and learning how to eat all over again has been a challenge. Thankfully I was able to create a schedule that reminds me when I should be intaking the proper foods, liquids, and vitamins. The app also includes additional cool features that assist the user throughout their bariatric timeline. Love it!!!!!

Great App. It’s surprisingly a really great app, I thought it would be “ok” cause it has a generic, unpolished look to it but it actually has every feature I want. Tracking everything is super easy and in a way that’s easy to view. The food tracker is also surprisingly good, equivalent to MyFitnessPal, maybe even better since I don’t have to pay for a premium to track the macros that are important to me like Protein and Carbs.

Happy me!. I am loving this app! At just a time when I was beginning to get frustrated, this app came along and really helps me keep up each day with my protein intake and my water intake especially. I am excited to enter my info at each meal, and it keeps me reminded of what I need to do. I also love to see how much weight I have lost from day today. Very very helpful!

Nice App, will be great with some work. It’s a nice app for bariatric patients. It’s still a little lacking. Would be great for the developer to compare to apps like MyFitnessPal. Would love if the weigh graph appeared on one screen instead of having to scroll to see even one month’s worth of weigh-ins. Group feature is nice but names are cut off and it’s a little disorganized. Would like to be able to see friends’ logs. Again, like this app, use it every day, but would love to see more to it (or asking us users for more feedback).

Extremely helpful in tracking protein. I’ve used this since day one after surgery. It has been extremely helpful in keeping me on track with my vitamins and protein requirement. The newest update has me searching a bit more for things which is the reason for the 4 instead of a 5. I feel like it was better before the update! But overall, super helpful and so easy to use (was easier before the update though;)

The best evah!. I have tried many apps and this is the easiest bar far. It tracks everything and connects to your Fitbit! I was using a water tracking app, a food app, a fitness app , etc. now I can track all in one spot. I know I am not using it to the fullest capacity yet but am excited about the options. Love the tutorials. They are so helpful and give you ideas on how to be healthier.

Love it but don’t really trust it.. I love how easy it is to use this, and all of the different aspects of the app. My only problem is sometimes when I scan my food, it brings up the right item but the measurements are off by 1 or 2. And no, it’s not because of net carbs, etc. It shows that something has one carb more or one carb less and one gram of protein more or less, depending on what it is. The first time I caught this, I wondered how wrong the rest of it has been. Hopefully this gets fixed soon? Love this app!

Almost perfect. This is a great app to track and geared specifically for bariatric patients. It’s been instrumental in meeting my metrics since surgery. However, it is more difficult to input meals and recipes than it is on MFP. It’s not user friendly in being able to add meals or recipes from the web. If these functions were adjusted (or maybe even interfaced with MFP!) I really think this would be a 5 star app.

Great app. Update*: I figured out how to add previous weights. Now my stats are right! Yay!! I love this app, it’s great to help stay on track with bariatric surgery. A couple things that I wish I could do and I can’t. 1. I wish you could edit/add a weight log from a different date. I forgot to add my weight right after surgery... and then logged my current weight and now my stats are all messed up and incorrect ☹️ 2. I can’t get the water reminder to actually remind me to drink. I’ve had to download a separate app just to monitor my water intake. 3. Also, it would be awesome if the app sent reminders for you to take your milestone pictures. I lucked out and happened to see my 1 month post op picture milestone literally at my 4 weeks out... but I bet many miss it because they don’t realize it’s there.

I Love This App!. This app is so convenient, helpful, and easy to use. I especially love the barcode reader for entering new foods. I also love how the foods are easily retrieved in the Favorites and Recent sections. Everything is calculated for you with simple data entry. There is a section for daily comments should you choose to use it. It makes me more accountable to myself and will keep me from mindless grazing. I can’t say enough good about it!

Updated: Help Needed!. Downloaded this yesterday and it’s still in “loading” mode when I try to sync it with my Fitbit 2. I can’t get app support because the app isn’t loading! Was 1 star previously due the above issue. Had to delete and reinstall 8 times in order to app to sync with Fitbit. Would like it if things like vegetables (like onions) were able to be counted by slice instead of trying to figure out how much (fraction wise) 2-3 onion slices are. But so far, it’s ok. Update: was 4 stars now 1 because got zero help after trying for months to a year

Not convenient or user friendly. Uploading recipes for future use or to quickly add to a meal for the day is impossible. It never saves all of the ingredients and if it doesn’t recognize a scanned food item, you have to input it but instead of it adding to your recipe, it adds the single food item to my meal tracker page instead of the recipe. So it basically deletes the recipe by booting you out of the page. I’ve been trying to add literally just 6 ingredients to make a saved recipe for the last 30 minutes and I am ready to give up on this app. All of the items have been input multiple times and I’m fed up.

App is good, could be developed some. I only began using this app yesterday but and so far it’s not bad. I just wish it was able to sync with more applications. For instance for years I’ve been tracking my food in MyFitnessPal, that’s not an app that this syncs with. I also wished it synced with more smart scales. I use the Renpho. Fortunately my Apple Health syncs with it and that syncs with this app. But overall it’s good. I like the built in timers. They’ve come in handy.

Most detailed tracking, share-able logs. I’ve tried multiple programs. The nutritionist at my doctors office recommended this app. Definitely more detailed and flexible than other apps. I can also export and share my food logs with others including the nutritionist. Can’t believe this is free and allows me to set custom goals for every nutritional element not just calories.

User friendly. I love this app. It is very user friendly and it’s nice that you can speak the food and if it’s not in the data base it will add it. This has helped me lose weight and it makes it easier to track everything from food, calories and water to exercise. I recommend this to anyone trying to lose weight.

Keeps me accountable. This is the best app when going through weight loss surgery post op. From logging food to logging in water intake, it helps stay on track. No one is perfect after weight loss surgery, but this helps app allows tracking steps, offers recipes. I especially like how when I log my weight, I’m given another weight loss goal to achieve.

Great app, could be better. I like this app. It’s great on making sure you get everything you need in a day. I love the reminders too. It is a really great app. The only way I think it could be better is if it communicated a little bit better with my Fitbit it has started pulling my steps and exercise but it doesn’t pull the food nor my weight so you have to log in both, it already communicates a little bit with Fitbit so I wish it would synch it all.

Great Help. Gastric Bypass has been a huge lifestyle change. Baritastic is a great app that helps you to keep on track. Scheduling, goals, recipes, weight tracker, and nutrition are just a few things all in one place at your fingertips. The store is great also. Vitamins and different proteins to choose from to help break the monotony of the “same old...same old”. I highly recommend this app for anyone who is scheduling or has had the bypass surgery or sleeve.

Love it!. I started using app a week ago shortly after my surgery. I love the ability to input my vitamins and meds into a timer that chimes when it's time to take them as several of them can't be taken to close to each other! The printouts were so nice to be able to bring to my appointment where I told my Dr about the app, he hadn't heard of it but was very interested in checking it out, as it definitely would be a good tool to track ones progress!

Good but not great. I have been using another tracking app because it’s more user friendly and I have/ had to spend less time figuring it out. This app is ok with the voice search feature but I have a medical condition that makes it difficult to use at times. I love the weight tracker and the goal setting feature, my other tracker doesn’t do that. The journey layout needs more work but if u don’t expect ALL of the bells and whistles in one place this is an ok app to use. I also like the recipes provided and the inspirational quotes.

Great App for anyone. This app has helped me a great deal as a person that’s had a gastric sleeve operation. Although I think it’s great for anyone looking to lose weight and monitor their health. It’s enabled me to understand why, when, and how I lose weight. I can track my progress daily and see what I do that gains weight and what I do that loses weight. It’s been imperative to my weight loss and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a healthier life.

Good app but confusing. I just started using this app. I’m still trying to get the hang of it. For me, it’s a little confusing. I do believe it’s useful. I am thankful that they suggested it but some of the inputting information; I’m not sure how to go about that. I’m just going with the flow and figuring it out. Overall, I would suggest using the app, especially if you’re getting ready for any kind of bariatric surgery. I feel as time passes and I get more used to it; It’ll become a very invaluable tool.

Incorrect carb count. This app is great however, I’ve noticed on some items when I scan in, it does not take the sugar alcohols into account nor is there a place to insert them…at least not where I can find if there is. So this makes some things high a really high net carb count when it shouldn’t be. Also, editing recipes if I change an ingredient or an amount instead of tweaking & re-saving, I have to enter the entire recipe again, so that is rather annoying.

It’s great BUT. . .. I really love this app but it needs a bigger selection of food and drinks from restaurants. While I know as bariatric patients we aren’t suppose to be dining out, it is what it is, life happens. As a full time college student, 4 month post op, and being 36, my life is busy and to look up food items that are not in the app just isn’t doable. I love the journal option, the full nutrition details, and all the reminders I can set. It’s great! Just need to grow and develop the food search more.

Stopped working. I would’ve given this a five out of five but I’m giving it to two out of five do to it stop working today. I have been using this app for the last seven weeks two weeks before my surgery and since my surgery and it has been working great and keeping track of everything perfectly up until today all of a sudden today it is loading up slowly it’s no longer has my vitamins listed which it was keeping a track of my vitamins and when I took them so I’m not sure what’s up with the application but it is no longer working.

Good app for post wls. I gave this app a 4 ✡️ because everything and everyone needs room for improvement. I was told about this app by my WLS doctors office and it has been a big part of my post surgery life. I document my water intake, food intake, exercise, and weight loss. You can connect your fitness tech items like Fitbit to it as well. I can say It keeps me on my toes from slacking. I recommend this app to anyone who is or will be having weight loss surgery. Download it asap and good luck! ❤️💜

Refreshing. I HATE logging and tracking my meals. I used Fitness Pal years back until it got too commercial with the extras. This is a simple app with a nice interface that lets us input with ease by speaking in items, taking a pic of the barcode or looking it up. It also remembers items for easy input. It breaks down calories, protein, and water etc. I like using the cup size measurements of items in meals vs specific ingredients of each and every meal.

Best bariatric app. I’m fairly new with my gastric sleeve. I’m 17 days out from my surgery and this app has helped me in soo many ways. I love to keep track of my food, just scan the barcode or take a picture. The weight log is a great motivator along with the graphs to show you’re on track. This app helps you keep accountability for what you put into your body and keeps you on track with your new lifestyle.

New to the App. I’m happier y to find that this App is user friendly for a patient. It matches tracking intake of food exactly as the nutritionist taught me to track AND produces meaningful ( to me) feedback and reports to monitor my behavior. I’ve added a couple of new foods over the last 2 weeks, but the haven’t showed up in the food database. The database for exercise, especially strength, needs a lot of updates with caloric burns. I’m now hooked on Baritastic, and hope updates to database come quicker in the future.

Pretty good. I really like the options in the food list - you don’t have to search far for something pretty close to what you’re eating. I do wish it had a full month calendar viewing option instead of only being able to scroll one day at a time. If you miss filling out days it takes a long time to figure out what data is missing. Also the more data I input, the slower the app runs.

Love this app. I love this app it helped get me through my first year post op. This app is great for bariatric patients and non patients alike. My daughter uses it to track her micros as well. I have to admit I started feeling comfortable after tracking for 6 months to go with out. Now that I’ve plateaued, I’m back to tracking. Only this time the app doesn’t allow me to customize my portions like it did before. Honestly that was one of the features I liked about this app. Please bring back Custom portion entry.

I love this app. I am pre operative for my gastric sleeve. I am in the 1 week count down for my surgery. Somehow using this app made the two week liquid diet feel amazing rather than miserable. I get to track the difference in my diet and calorie intake along with the sugar intake and the protein intake versus what I used to take in my body before the start of my weight loss journey. This app is a wonder tool

Could be much better. Problems: 1. Very hard to edit recipes. In order to add ingredients with correct amounts, you have to add them 1 at a time which is vey time consuming. Or if you list all ingredients in the smart mode, it's hard to edit any. And very hard to get it to say the amounts the way you need it too. 2. Needs to be a way to log into the account and do this online. Lot more time consuming to use in phone. 3. Way, way too many of the same item listed. Sometimes it's very different nutritional info.

This is the start of a revolution in healthy eating made simple!!. I was always confused by labels now I don’t have to be by a simple scanning of the barcode all of the nutritional information is stored in the app! Making it easier to see if I am on target for the proteins, carbs, veg and fruit I am supposed to eat every day! Incredible!! And the best part it is free! You can buy a smart watch and a smart scale and connect to the app so you don’t have to do all of the input manually!!

Great app for WLS. I’m now 4 weeks post op and this app has been incredibly useful for tracking my nutritional and water goals. The timers are also very helpful. It’s really easy to use and fairly intuitive. It’s food database has had everything I’ve searched for in it with all the nutritional values. You can barcode scan things also. Recommend it!
