Awful. I just want to play songs. Why does this app make it so DIFFICULT!

Somehow, getting worse. Let’s ignore the fact that LG decided to throw in the towel right after we bought our speakers - business decisions like that happen. They still worked pretty good, even if they weren’t making any new speakers! Until the recent app refresh anyway. Functionality that has been working 3 years seemingly evaporated. I was easily able to link my sound bar with a H7 speaker, until now. Not sure what happened? It’s one thing for something to get abandoned, it’s another for it to be updated to break functionality. I’m nervous to buy anything LG going forward.

Not working anymore. After the update of iOS 11 the app can’t play any music on my soundbar. It keeps telling me “can not play file”

App doesn’t work. This app is horrible. It’s the only thing I can use to link my LG speakers and yet it doesn’t work. It crashes anytime I attempt to connect a LG soundbar with two H5 rear speakers for simulated surround sound.

Application development Amateur hour. This app completely kills your battery when it sits in background. No idea what it could be doing but terrible design.

New update made surround sound not work. I can no longer link my rear speakers to the sound bar since the update.

Eats your battery!!. For some reason even when not in use it kills your battery! Have to force close the app to keep my battery alive.

Updates killed connection. New updated Fixed Connection so I added a star. Recent updates have made it so I cannot link my wireless music flow speaker with my home theater sound bar. This system has been a pain in the rear since day one and now I cannot get my speakers to play together. It just ignores the command! Uggh!

App broken, won’t connect to Wi-Fi. Broken and won’t recognize Wi-Fi. I’m running the latest iOS and answered yes to all app permissions. My iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi and still Music Flow Player says “...you need Wi-Fi connection.” When I hit next it says “It is not properly connected.” So now I can’t connect my SJ9 soundbar and update firmware.

Not working. I’m trying to connect my xboom rk7 to this app and it’s just not working.

Does it work at all?. Tried connecting to my LG SJ9 soundbar and after over 20 attempts, I give up. Nothing should be released unless it works and minimally connects to the devices manufactured by the same company. I have never been so disappointed in my life. I purchase top of line LG OLED TVs with WebOS thinking that they will be upgraded over time and looks like LG just abandons their products.

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. The latest version won’t allow my rear speakers to link with my soundbar. Each new update doesn’t make it easier or better to use. Shame, because their actual hardware products are really next gen stuff (OLED/ATMOS SJ9/ etc.) It’s just too bad their software hails from sometime in the early 2000s. LG seriously have to look into improving little-big details like this. Perhaps changing the whole linking of speakers to a new system is the way to go about it, because after having use this over a year, I’ve had to always meddle with it with an average of twice a week. Please LG, please, don’t let simple things like this make you lose customers and hurt your reputation and brand.

Extreme battery usage. Runs continuously in the background, for no reason at all. Will down 20% of an iPhone 7 Plus battery in just a few hours without you knowing it.

Keeps getting better but still needs work. I wish when you used the remote the volume would work on all the speakers that are grouped together. Keeps saying I need an update but there is no update in the store

Great Sound. Yes there are a few problems with the app and firmware, but when it all works it is a great setup. I do hope they continue supporting this product line!

Works well enough.. Use is intuitive, even if it is a pain to have to use a separate app.

Requesting To Update? Still?. I’ve updated this to the most current version as of Sep. 23, 2017. The message, “The application needs to be updated for efficient use. Do you want to update the software?”, still is pestering me! Come on LG, lets get it together now.

Kills my iPhone X battery. This app kills my iPhone X battery because it’s constantly working in the background and the background refresh option on and off feature is not available for this app in the iPhone settings. Needs fixing

Update ruined my surround sound. Connected speakers fail to connect to sundbar for surround after update and app crashes basically on every action.

Broken- if I could give it less stars, I would.. The app keeps wanting to update with no update available and every file has an error saying “cannot play this file”. When it worked in the past it was great. Updating is broken, app as a whole is broken and even your app support link is broken. Absolutely ridiculous.

Cinema mode?!?!. What happened?! I can not connect my rear speakers and Center speaker in surround mode. Fix this ASAP. These speakers weren’t cheap.... but the platform/software is.

Irratic Connectivity. I don't know if it's the app or the LG H5 speakers but they will not stay connected. Great hardware, unable to utilize it to it's potential. Disappointing.

Broken. It used to work, but now fails to find my SJ8 soundbar. I have done the wifi setup 3 times and the soundbar connects to my network, but the app won't find it. I have deleted and reinstalled the app as well, but still nothing. I expected much better from LG. I hope they fix it.

Fix this PLEASE!. New update, and it still doesn’t work through the speaker. What a waste of money for the speaker to not work through the app.

New version with bug. I have a sound bar and another music flow device, they were linked perfectly but since last release of Music Flow app I cannot link them anymore... very frustrating...

Reboot your products before complaining. I was having the same problems with connecting rear speakers to the sound bar and it seemed to coincide with an app update. I tried resetting the rear speakers to factory default and restarting them. Finally fed up I called LG support and within 10 minutes I was able to get my speakers connected. You just need to unplug your sound bar and leave it unplugged for 30 seconds. Then plug it back in and reconnect.

Battery Usage. Thought my my new iPhone X’s battery was draining awfully fast. Popped open the battery usage stats, and this app was responsible for 81% of my phone’s battery usage even though I haven’t opened the app for over a week. This app is straight up malware!

Doesn't work. Just delete and go. I can't understand the level of mediocrity in the team that created this app. It will not detect my speaker and I cannot update firmware.

Terrible app and hardware. Not only is this app terrible and difficult to manage, but the software for the sound bar is terrible as well. The blue tooth tech is terrible - cuts in and out. Sound optimization is worthless - the auto power logic is spotty as well. BUY SOMETHING ELSE - anything else but for love of god do not waste your money.

App Is “Ending” July 2023 ?. They are shutting the app down without any alternates. So how are we to manage the sound bar when we switch phones or make any WiFi adjustments? Please reconsider or make the app open source.

Terrible app. Bought a PK7 and non of the lg apps work w iOS ! Can’t update firmware can’t do anything ! Now I’ll return this paperweight and pick up a JBL that works fine w N iPhone !

Worthless. LG makes big promises, delivers small returns. Before the iOS update, this app only worked if I unplugged the soundbar to do a cold reset on it. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’m amazed at how every one of the 60+ apps I have on my phone manages to keep up except one. LG. Epic fail.

Broken since last update but with new features. Ever since the latest update, iHeart radio fails to stream to a single speaker or multiples that have been grouped. Multiroom groups disconnect at random times as well. Don’t expect much from LG products as a whole either.

Gotta give it at best one star. I’ve tried to use this app to connect my new SK9Y sound bar to my new LG TV, forget it using this app. Still don’t know why it is suggested as part of the setup process.

Poorly created app. LG should be embarrassed to have an app of this quality with their brand on it. The app is unreliable and buggy. It doesn’t reliability connect to my sound bar and doesn’t provide a useful companion experience to the device. Between this app and the slow WebOS software on my LG TV, it is clear that LG doesn’t place a focus on software quality. I will not be purchasing LG products in the future.

Can’t get the app to connect!. App won’t connect to my LG Soundbar anymore since upgrading to iOS 14. Come in LG, get your act together!!!

Just get a SONOS. Look, I gave the LG WiFi speakers a go and spent over a year using. In that time I can say maybe 25% they functioned correctly. I’ve paired with their awesome sound bar and sub... waste of time. I’ve attempted to stream... unless your old school saving music to a local pc/laptop. Waste of time. What limited app sync they do offer you have to cast... which again. Barely works. The sound quality is subpar and no way to tune for better results. I would not even donate these to goodwill. Get a SONOS and forget even considering this product.

Update issues. LG , the sound quality is great! It’s a shame you don’t want to make it work, considering It sounds better than Sonos does. However...The app makes it terrible though ! It should always open in the 'connected speakers ' section. No one wants to use your player to play music on the phone or any other devices. Seriously. Furthermore, make the sound options and volume sliders accessible in the normal interface with speaker selected. The interface looks like it was designed 15 years ago! It’s pathetic. A child could make a better interface.

Sound bar keeps getting lost. The sound bar keeps disappearing from the app!! I am getting sick and tired of installing and pairings the bar over and over again and when finally is paired the speakers don't link with the sound bar I had asked for help many times and no help at all

Draining battery is like dinosaur. I downloaded this app for my SH7B soundbar WiFi and chrome cast setup, after that I didn’t use it at all, but I found my smartphone battery drains very quickly, and then I figured out it’s this app, 32% off is usage! Crazy, drain battery in the background! You will not know it eats your battery power!

Update killed H7 speaker. I received the LG H7 yesterday and finally hooked it up. If then notified me of an update and proceeded. After the reboot the led blinked left and right constantly. Shut off the power and same thing. Held down the on/off button 15 seconds with no power and same thing. Update killed my speaker. Had to send back. Customer service troubleshooting was awful as well. Shame. I finally got another pair and why does Music Match keep dropping my three speakers. It’s there one minute then gone the next when I minimize the app. This is on a mesh network fiber 1 gig. Horrible app.

iOS 14. Not able to connect to any speakers after upgrading to iOS 14

Smells corporate. This app is horrible and wrong. Didn't work. Sucked the whole time. But I had to try to turn off those annoying lights.

Battery drainage huge. My iPad/iPhone hasn't been used in 1 day 6 hours and it's down to 8% battery from 100... 86% of my battery use is lg music flow player. And my screen has never been turned on, huuuuge battery drainage. Needs a dedicated iPad app. Don't try to be complicated, simple is easy.

Nov 5 2017 version No good. Whatever LG did to the app in this "minor bug fix", it has completely ruined the app for me. I can no longer group my speakers. Fortunately, I still have the old version on my phone, and it still works (albeit with constant pop-ups telling me I need to update for the app to work efficiently). What the hell have you done LG?

Worked great up until the last update.. As title states.. now I'm very annoyed and it does not work. Crashes when I try to connect the 2 rear speakers to my soundbar via wireless connectivity. Connected fine previously! Please fix!

Speaker grouping fails. This new update effects the speaker grouping. You can group but it fails to combine the speakers.

Software update required.. The speakers themselves are great. I have a soundbar and sub with four additional speakers connected. The only problem is the lack of compatibility and handshake stability between LG, aux in over wifi, Spotify and google home. (Don’t even get my started on turntable compatibility) LG needs to be more active here. I’ve spent a LOT of money and expect the appropriate support. I will be filing a complaint regarding the lack of support. Absolutely disgraceful LG…

Just doesn't work. The LG speakers are great, when they do connect via the app, which is next to NEVER. The app is absolute rubbish and while the speakers and sound bar are always on the network via the bridge(R1), it is a lottery as to whether the app can find them and if on the off chance it does, they continually drop off. LG have completely dropped the ball on the app. Very disappointing and needs to be simplified and fixed otherwise it has been a complete waste of money and the speakers are only viable for Bluetooth and not MusicFlow.

Would give a Zero rating if possible. Speakers keep getting forgotten and app doesn’t recognise that the wifi connection is working.

Hate using this app. It only works about 10% of the time. The remaining 90% is made up of constant software updates that render the speakers unusable, the app's total inability to stay connected to Spotify, the speakers disconnecting from each other and the app almost every time I try to use it, and to top it all off the app just refuses to work sometimes, even if it says it's playing, it just doesn't. The speakers are good when they work but the app is the worst. AVOID!!!

Speakers keep disappearing from list. You have spent some time getting your speakers, sound bar and bridge all connected and ready to go (including updating to latest software versions) only to find out that every so often the speakers go missing from your home configuration. The wifi is pretty solid and stable yet, the speakers go constantly missing so if you want to play songs be prepared to spend a horrendous amount of time "adding them up" over and over.

App keeps saying it needs an update, no update available. Annoying pop up saysing app needs updating even though it can't update as its already the latest version App also doesn't recognise all songs on my phone. App also "forgets" speaker and drops out, have to "find" speaker all the time to use. End up just playing music from my phone coz its too annoying to use the speaker.

LG needs to support its Music Flow products!. 1) The app is poor; pop-up upon opening app every time requests an update, but in App Store no update is available! 2) My wifi is fine, but even with the bridge, the mesh network is always unstable. 3 speaker setup (soundbar and rear left/ right speakers) and one or all the speakers keep getting bumped off and need to reconnect every second day or if connected, lag between speakers. The sound is great, when it works but unfortunately this is rare. FIX YOUR APP LG URGENTLY!! For new system buyers, stay away until firmware or other fix is made available

Bad. Just bad in every way to be honest. All I want is to have my speakers connected to each other and this is the worst possible way to go about getting that. I've tried so many damn times over so many hours and I'm still just looking at LG branded bricks lying around the place. Apps are silly.

Now it works in iOS 9 but still a painful app. This version works on iOS 9. This app is not easy to use and the most annoying thing is that you need to reconfigure your speakers every time you turn them on. Music Flow is a good idea but the execution should be better. The system depends too much on this complex app which is more a music player than a tool to set the system. Don't forget that this app is the only way to configure your speakers not through the devices' buttons or the remote control, so keep your iPhone besides the bunch of remote controls. After everything is set, all the components should pair automatically when turned on but it doesn't happen, configuration is lost when the devices are turned off.

What a bunch of rubbish. Literally.. This is one of the worst purchases I’ve made. Has not consistently worked, and the ‘support’ process was ridiculous.

Currently useless. Since ios9 update the app crashes instantly. I even uninstalled, reinstalled, reinstalled all my speakers and it crashed. My speakers are now effectively useless! I am very unhappy.

Stay away from the music flow products. Multi room feature not working. Lost all confidence in product I am beyond frustrated with the music flow product. After experiencing the speakers dropping off the network assigned static IP addresses which seems to have fixed the issue. Now have the sound bar & TV switching off every 30 mins. The software does not provide the ability to group speakers and have multi room music flow without having one speaker connected via a cable to the network. Every so often the speakers will also only play for 5 seconds, drop out, come back, drop out. This product, under Australian Consumer Law, is not fit for the purpose it was sold for nor advertised as.

App keeps dropping! Music DOES NOT flow!. I had the hope the app will now work, but it keeps dropping out. Please fix it!! I can’t still group the speakers. Previous review remains: LG have to work on these speaker and app. I have a soundbar and 2 speaker and the app never plays the music correctly. Sometimes one speaker, sometimes 2 or 3 are connected, but then when they are grouped they get disconnected after a bit. Pretty bad and frustrating. The music never a flows! There is always a problem even if the speaker are next to each other! It's terrible! The quality of audio isn't bad, but LG have totally forgot to ensure connectivity between speakers. This app is totally useless. In theory you could play all speakers connected and also use Spotify, buy this doesn't work. As soon as music flow launches Spotify the music is played on the phone. No music flow whatsoever. Very disappointing! Useless!

Worst ever system. Even the software recognised it was bad and keeps sending me to the App Store in the hope of there being a software version that works There are may speakers that you can buy to be a basic Bluetooth speaker which is the only way this unit is working with iOS I am returning to place of purchase tomorrow morning

Does nothing as advertised. This app is not intuitive in the slightest, it's incredibly temperamental, Spotify won't work through my soundbar at all but it works through my other speakers... Sometimes... You can't just play an album from beginning to end from your phone, you have to queue up each song. Very poorly executed and I really regret spending the money on this system instead of SONOS.

Worst app ever!. When you pay a few bucks for an app that plays up, you write a bad review. When the app is supposed to connect speakers costing hundreds of dollars, and it crashes, disconnects, and loses speakers every couple of days, what do you do? When connected the speakers are great, but you lose everything instantly with nothing around the home changing. And reconfiguring every couple of days is frustrating in the extreme. Forget the app, don't waste money on the speakers! Shame on you LG!

Junk. Spent a huge amount of money on a music flow speaker setup with a sound bar, 2 surround speakers and a sub. Even got the bridge as recommended. It's all in one room, with a wireless router and all the necessary cabling. Haven't been able to successfully get all the speakers working in sync, and that's on the rare occasion they even work at all. The remote doesn't adjust the whole system, only the sound bar. Massive waste of money and time. The app won't allow me to play music that I've paid for on Apple Music, so it really is pointless and basically junk. I just bt to the sound bar alone now, so feeling really ripped off on the up sell of the other speakers and bridge.

LG update your App!. App is slow and clunky. Music doesn't load properly and is a struggle to use. Sound bar doesn't update... It will commence and say it's updating then won't complete the update. LG has a good idea and sounding product. They just need to get the bugs and issues sorted out ASAP!!!!!

This is the worst, I hate LG. So now the app works, great. But the Spotify connect does not. The music consistently skips, what a failure of a product by LG. $1100 spent on 2 H5's a sound bar plus sub and the router. I hate this app, I hate your speakers and I hate your lack of support. You cannot blame my internet connection etc... For any of the dramas associated with your rubbish handshaking between the speakers and the application. It has never worked. Whereas using tune in and deezer works flawlessly. Fix your product or it is going back to the retailer for a refund and I will buy Samsung or Sonos

Avoid this app and LG Musicflow with iPhones. This app is clunky and unreliable and has been so for quite some time. The wifi functionality of my speakers is practically unusable and have become effectively independent Bluetooth speakers. Music drops out over wifi; speakers and speaker groupings intermittently drop off app and require you to re-add them again. No obviously linking to utilise Apple Music. Method in which app interacts with Spotify is pretty clunky - you are never quite sure whether to control your music in the LG app or Spotify app. If you're looking for network speakers in an Apple ecosystem the LG solution is not the right decision.

Has this app been updated? I get a notice that says yes. When I open this app it tells me to update the software and opens the app in the store but no update is available to download. Also how can I set hdmi in as a perm setting in my speaker it’s so frustrating that it changes all the time

App is incompatible - DON'T BOTHER !!!. LG are very good at Marketing to their none-the-wiser customers. The Music Flow products rely on this app in order for the products to work on a wifi network. The problem is LG doesn't update the app. It is currently incompatible with the current iOS iPhone operating system. I've spent many hours & phone calls with LG support personnel who have FINALLY accepted there is a problem with the app. Apparently the issue has been escalated to Management with no idea as to when a resolution will be available. With the lack of urgency to the huge problem, I have returned my speakers & am now stuck with a new LG TV, Music Flow sound bar & bluray player where I can't get surround sound - as advertised I would. LG update your app!!! And stop your false advertising!

Total rubbish. This has to be the worst app I have ever used. It's absolutely rubbish. Crashes all the time and renders the music flow system completely unusable. Keeps on loosing connection to speakers. Keeps on loosing all information from its music library. A fat waste of time. LG should be ashamed. I'm returning my music flow system for a refund.

Battery drain!. The app runs in background killing the battery. Total garbage! Why does a soundbar app need to run continuously LG?

Ok when working properly. I’ve had this for 5 years now. Has worked good for the most part. Other than disconnecting at the wrong time….however the last few months being able to control the sound from the phone isn’t working anymore! Please update. The sound from the speakers is good.

LG has given up. LG does not support their products and let’s their software properties and hardware die out! Need to keep up software update frequency like peers and add features along the way this isn’t acceptable in 2019 to not update your apps for iOS 12 and soon iOS 13!

Just a frozen screen!. I completed all the prompts to connect wifi to my LAS851-M sound bar but now that that's done all I get is a screen that has tips and tricks on how to use this app but it's just that!!-a frozen screen of that. Please fix it! When I close it and open the app it'll say there's a software update, click yes it freezes, click cancel it freezes. What a joke.

IOS 11. Can we update this puppy so the “update now” warning doesn’t pop up every time the app is launched? I, for one, use it every night and have since last December when I bought all this LG stuff. It sounds marvelous, wonderful even, when it’s working, but lately with the new IOS upgrade it needs a tune. I’d settle for 64 bit software so the warning goes away. Who’s bigger? Apple or LG? There are a lot of sound system companies out there including some that support Dolby Atmos. It’s ez for me to jump ship as I bought my system from Costco. I’ve fought it for 10 months, even given up on the wireless and gone hardwired on the surrounds. Sounds great, but a lot of wires kicking around. Not cool. iOS 9 crash. Whenever Bluetooth is on the app crashes. A shame because I would like Apple music support over my multi room setup. Please fix for iOS 9.

Rear speakers won't connect!!!!!. Update: 11/17/2017 - LG just updated Music Flow App today and they fixed the bug that disabled surround sound in Cinema Mode. Everything is BACK TO NORMAL, thanks LG! Changing star rating to 4*. Update: 11/10/2017 - Just updated the app on Friday 11/10/2017, since the app asks to. After the update my rear speakers won't connect to my SJ8 Soundbar anymore. The app will recognize the rear speakers, I can chromecast, etc... but it won't group to my Soundbar! Frustrating. Please fix it. Rating is 1* until fixed.

Does not work. This app does not work. Took Multiple attempts to hook up a speaker to my network. The speaker shows up randomly in the app as a connected device. This is an alpha release. I really expected more from LG.

Surroundsound broken. The 11/5/17 revision does not allow the surroundsound speakers to connect with each other. The reason I bought this equipment was for that purpose. Please fix this app or take it back to the older revision.

Terrible. Supports only very old streaming services such as Pandora, Spotify, etc. No Apple Music support or amazon music. Garbage. Cmon LG, do something. This was a $500 sound bar and you can’t even make a decent app??

Cm8460. Unfortunately with the system I just bought I cannot use this app on my phone. For the system I just bought it’s only available through the android app. Lg please make the cm8460 available on the apple app

Bateltery drainer. Works fine to manage the soundbar but destroys phone battery even when not using. Using 60% if my batter in the last day only running in the background. Recommend using it for setup then uninstall right away.

No sirve. Dosent work

DO NOT BUY MUSIC FLOW PRODUCTS. I bought two satellite LG Music Flow speakers to go with my LG Music Flow soundbar. You have to have this app to connect them together. The app is clunky, often doesn't find the satellite speakers, and I spend more time trying to get it to link them or play music than it is worth. I expected so much more from LG. This is a huge disappointment. I should have just waited for the Apple speakers because I know they would have worked as intended. Right now I linked the satellite speakers and it shows they are successfully linked but no sound comes out. DO NOT MUSIC FLOW UPDATED REVIEW: I recently updated the app because it said it was required (Nov 2017) and now my wireless rear speakers won’t connect to the app at all. Every time they do an update it makes things worse. I am $800 into a sound system that DOESNT WORK! I just want my money back at this point. UPDATE 7/2018: One of the new updates has allowed the app to find satellite speakers but no sound comes out at all. I have to literally unplug the satellite speakers from sound every time I want to use them. I would rate zero stars if possible. Still not worth the money!

As disappointing as the speakers. This app doesn't ever seem to work properly or recognise the connected speakers.

Multi Room continues to have problems with Pandora. While the app is great for managing the multi-room capability using the phone's Music app, it has problems streaming Pandora while connected. You can connect the speakers using multi-room function, but the minute you begin streaming Pandora to the speakers, the multi-room function drops and it only plays through one speaker! I have been able to bypass the problem by activating the multi-room, then playing Pandora through my Apple TV, but it's a pain. It used to work fine before the most recent update.
