Okay so this is kind of annoying. I have dealt with two people so far that do not rate, what so ever, at first i had to wait 48 hours and then Mercari would send them a notification. Now I have to wait 72. It is really frustrating having to wait over a week for the person to receive their package to get paid but then I have to wait even longer for the person to rate me and the fact that I have to wait even longer for them to rate in order to get paid is so dumb. Not does that take forever but once you transfer your funds to your bank account that in itself takes anywhere from 3 days to a week. So you don’t end up getting paid until like a month after you sell something even though you have done your part. Not only that but you as a seller can’t rate a person at all when Mercari sends the money through if they don’t rate. Therefore, there are most likely so many more people that don’t rate and you will never know because your not allowed to rate a person once the transaction is complete. I should be able to rate someone if they didn’t take the opportunity to rate me so I can get paid. What’s even more frustrating is when it’s the people who have sold items before, who know that you can’t get paid until they rate you and they still don’t rate.

Most of these reviews are bought.. So I’ve sold and bought on this app, and had horrible experience with the customer service on both ends. Even if you provide evidence that an item wasn’t delivered or an item was replaced with a different item. Even if you are in contact with the post office, trying to find a lost item or a missed delivered item. They will pretty much tell you that they’re not gonna do anything about it in a roundabout way. As well as providing photos of this. They will still fight to not return your money or side with a buyer that clearly switched the item. Their is a lot of counterfeit items sold on here as well. They make it difficult to report anything and won’t believe anything. The customer service responses are 90% copy and paste answers. Now I’ve had good experience on this app as well. There are sellers that are amazing as well as buyers on this app. The biggest problem is with this app is customer service and the ability to easily report about counterfeits or anything else that should be reported. Oh also the shipping service they provide is terrible. They offer this low cost shipping for $1 something that is supposed to be trackable it’s only track of all through the app and not through the USPS website. I even contacted the post office and they said they can’t track ether. So it the app says it’s delivered and it hasn’t they will not refund you. So you end up being out an item and money. Be very careful using this app.

USPS Kills this app. I want to give this app 5 stars as it protects the buyers and sellers from fraud. It’s gaining popularity and you can find an enormous amount of deals. The reason why I gave it the title “USPS kills this app” is because my local USPS Mail carrier thinks it’s ok to mark my delivery as delivered and I always get it a few days later, mind you, you only get three days to rate your seller before your payment automatically gets released to the seller. Yes Mercari is the middle man here and doesn’t release the payment to the seller until you check your product out and give them a thumbs up by way of rating the seller (awesome). You can now see how having a mail carrier like mine that thinks it’s ok to mark deliveries as delivered beforehand, especially when there’s a chance you are nearing a holiday!! You can hold your breath and throw some salt over your shoulder to hope your item is as described by the seller because one day to review may not be enough (but better than nothing I suppose). Mercari does try to help you though, if you contact support and let them know you haven’t received your item even though your mail carrier says it was... and stay on high alert looking for your item to review and rate... they will actually hold the funds for you until you receive the item. Hope this review helps someone who is experiencing the same. Thanks Mercari for understanding.

Great for buying or selling but not for problems. I have had a great time selling and buying on this app, good prices and friendly people, but recently I sold 2 items that U.P.S had messed up by putting two different products in two different boxes, so one got the right label but wrong product as well as the other person. So the purchaser told me that I had sent the wrong product ( not my fault u.p.s put the wrong product in the wrong box) so I tried doing the normal thing witch is refunding, asking for the product back so I can get this right. Once I refunded the product, the chat ended. So I couldn’t contact this person to further fix this issue. After not getting any help or guidelines from mercari on what to do with this kind of problem( like if they have to send the product back so I don’t loose my product or money) I asked if I could give them my phone number or address to make a proper shipping label. Then I get a notification from mercari that I made a prohibitive statement. So after getting no help from mercari On what to do, if the person has to send the product back or if a shipping label will be provided to the customer to send the product back and if it will be paid for I’m left with getting a warning and my chat delete. Thank you for no help and for me possibly loosing a product I spent money on and went out of the way to go get .

Great Shopping, Great Selections, Great Customer Service. I joined Mercari several months ago and have done some buying and selling. I have only good things to say. Even when a seller didn’t respond to a purchase I made on his site, Mercari backed up its guarantee. That’s why this a great way to shop, if you like doing shopping online! You can do it without the worry of the what if, because you know Mercari has a guarantee and your money is protected if a seller backs out or if the product is what it was described as or if your unhappy with it in some way. The items I’ve bought have all been exactly what was advertised, I look for sellers who have good reviews. Another great feature Mercari offers, so that you can feel rest assured with what your getting. Other sellers I’ve bought from have made up for the one who didn’t respond. All very nice, people take pride in their reviews so its motivation to shop quickly in the 3 business days Mercari allows. And to package nicely ...Mercari set great standards to achieve. I feel they have thought of most everything. As a seller, they make that easy and provide the shipping labels and clear instructions to help get the best review for yourself as a seller and a happy buyer! They take a fair percentage for the sale. They also have a great team to answer clearly any questions I’ve had about how to use the site. The site is easy to use. So much you can find on here! Glad I found it. Happy Customer here!!

Shipping services…TERRIBLE!. I’ve only bought, not sold on here and love the platform but every item I have bought so far has taken just about a month or exactly a month to arrive! Sellers tell me they are using what Mercari says to use which is FedEx? It is terrible and really has me contemplating whether to continue using this app or not! I wanted to try and sell on here but I don’t think so. I do like the fast pace sales-just need better rules for sellers to get their items out! Or monitor sellers that have posted an item and ditched the app! I’ve bought things only to have to wait to get my money back because the seller is just MIA! App needs time stamp for when seller or buyer was last on. I also don’t like that a seller can cancel for no reason! Nowadays people have their items cross posted so again, have bought things here and elsewhere and then the sale gets canceled because they forgot to take item down on this site! This is the LAST SITE I GO TO if im really looking for something. That’s saying something. Improve and grow and I would be on here way more than EBay or even PoshMark and Poshmark is really bad with sellers being MIA for years and they allow their items to continue to be for sale-BUT-at least there is a last known date on app for the seller so like I said-I’d be here more if it were more user friendly and not just a GAMBLE when you spend money With wondering if it’s going to take longer to get her than if I was to order overseas! Lol

Perfect for Selling Items!. This is an awesome way to get rid of unwanted items. You post the things you want to sell, ship it, wait for your rating, and then you get the cash! One thing that’s really cool is that they create the shipping label for you! (This comes in handy for me because I’m a first time seller!) I’ve loved having this app so far, I’ve made some good money in the past couple of months from it. Issues I had at first where not knowing how to deposit the money I made from Mercari, into my bank account. I think it’d be pretty awesome for them to walk people through it when they make their first sale. Just so people know how to get their money. Also, when you really get into the habit of selling items on here, but sure that you don’t need the money you made RIGHT away because their process to transfer money takes a while. So that’s another small improvement I would make as well! A faster transfer process. Another thing, I think that it’s great they implement buyer/seller protection, so to go even further with this, another suggestion I have is to allow more photos to be taken on high end items. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if something is legitimate or not because there’s only 4 pictures. Certain items need more proof! 😊 This ensures that people are buying and selling authentic products. Besides this, I love Mercari. This app is totally worth the download!!

Wasn’t expecting. Let me start off by saying when I was just buying stuff the app was perfect. Everything I received was exactly what I wanted and if it wasn’t I returned it no problem The problem didn’t start until I started selling so I’m in the military and just moved duty stations I changed my address yet I sold some shoes and they didn’t fit the individual and she returned them yet the address was still my old address I had deleted over a week before. So I never got my shoes back yet she got her money back. So fast forward I made another sale the items sold when I went to get my money in order to get an immediate direct deposit I need to verify I am who I am but to get in 4/5 businesses days I don’t which seem pretty goofy. So I went to verify my drivers license and they denied it because my address isn’t the one I have now mind you I’m in the military so my address changes frequently so driver’s license stays at my home of record which doesn’t expire till 2025 but instead of verifying MY FACE MATCHED THEY SAID THE ADDRESS DIDN'T MATCH SO I TRIED MY GOVERNMENT ID BUT THEY DIDNT ACCEPT IT. Tried a deposit in 5 days didn’t accept my account info basically I feel like they want you to use your money only with the app their costumers service is the worst they seem automated because I explain the problem and they give general answers or steps so now I have over 400$ just on the app and can’t get it and I just want my money so I can delete the app because it’s ridiculous!

They locked me out of my account. I have been a seller with Mercari for about a full year now and have had accounts with them for about two years, and I have always had problems with them, but this is definitely the worst problem. They completely locked me out of my current selling account, and I have two orders that I have shipped out and are being delivered today and I am unable to access anything. It doesn’t help that I can’t even access my old email connected to this account, as I don’t remember the password used. I have already sold these items, and have sold items in the past with no problem. I quickly logged out to check my buying account, to see the delivery date on something, and then tried accessing my selling account and can’t get in now. I’ve done this multiple times so why is this now going on!? Now I can’t access any of my earnings, and have around $120 lying in my earnings that I can’t at least put into my bank account. I have been a great seller, and never once have been reported of a problem, and make sure I always extend wonderful customer service to all my buyers. This is awful seller service that Mercari is giving, and I am recommending new sellers to find another service to use. Mercari is awful towards its sellers, and doesnt care about you. Thanks to Mercari, I will now have trouble paying out my next months bills and have lost 120 dollars. Thanks Mercari, for being a terrible service.

Great for buying wish had more settings. Love this app for buying (I’ve never sold on it). I do wish that there were more settings for saved items/searches. Like a filter for saved/liked items with “free shipping,” items that people have put offers on that are pending so people have a chance to offer more, etc. I also wish you could see dates items were posted. I feel like some people post items and then never come back on Mercari. I’ve made offers and written messages to people with no response about if the item is still available. Or maybe a way to see a sellers last log in so you know if they are still active. Also wish there were ways to get cheaper shipping. A fabric purse shouldn’t cost $10 to ship. Maybe coupons when you spend so much or credits, etc. it’s a real deterrent. Last, I wish once you made an offer, you could raise it, it doesn’t let you until it expires or declines. Also, would be nice to be able to retract an offer after a few hours because some sellers just wait for them to expire and so you can’t make offers on similar items because you have one pending the seller either ignored or didn’t see. So say after 5 hours you can withdrawal your offer if you choose.

I love this Selling App!. Previously, I had been using eBay to sell items but kept coming up in the negative every month being overtaken by crazy fees. I found mercari by googling ‘where to sell your used clothing’, I was kind of skeptical but I liked the fact that there was no listing fee, just a selling fee after your item sold, which seemed reasonable! Also, the postage fees are set, so they are the same every time based on the weight of your package. I wasn’t sure how well it would work out with payment being contingent on your buyers rating of the item once received, I worried about letting my item go and then never receiving anything but I have had zero problem so far! I only started selling in January but so far I have seen profit from this :) I think Mercari has an excellent system and they are very good at making sure it runs smoothly. It has been a pleasant surprise so far and the BEST thing about Mercari? ACTUAL customer service that offers a way to contact by email and then ACTUALLY RESPONDS!! I am one of those people who always has questions and you cannot know how much I appreciate being able to ask and always getting a quick, thorough response! I can’t wait until Mercari passes all the competition and is known as the NEW number one selling app! :)

Active User. I’m a five star active seller/ buyer, with 140 transactions. I used to love using this app. I was on it, more than I was on Facebook, from what my Data report read. From what it was in 2016, to what it is now, it’s become really annoying. Sometimes sellers don’t realize shipping an item them selves, is cheaper than Mercari flat rates. I stopped selling, because of the interest rates that apply. When I first started, all the money I made from my sales, went directly to me. That was nice. The app constantly tries to get you to come back with small cheap coupons like $3 or $5 to an item, as long as it’s over $15 sometimes, before shipping costs. I’ve been kicked off the site in the past, was able to reach out through Facebook messenger and the problem was resolved. I had to help my cousin fight to get her money for an iPhone she sold, that someone stayed they never received. Mercari said they’d investigate. My cousin lost. I had to do my own investigation, write out all the facts, stating the weight of the item is on every receipt of a package sent. If the package was empty like the buyer claimed, it wouldn’t have weighed more than a pond for an empty small box. Crappy investigation on their part. With my help, she won and the money was turned over to her. It was a headache. Because of that, my cousin never sold on the site again. I think they’re too overwhelmed with how fast pace the app is, and even with all the updates, the site is still garbage.

Has a major flaw…..the pre shipment label. Mercari is fine usually , but several times now I have encountered a seller who will simply create a pre shipment label for the item I purchased without sending the item. Mercari then sends me an email saying “get excited your items on the way” , even though the item hasn’t been dropped off at the post office. The seller then has 15 days to drop the item off. Your only recourse is to “request” a cancellation from the seller , who already is using a loophole in the system to trick Mercari , and even if they don’t reply they still have the full 15 days to take their time and mail the item. If the seller doesn’t send your item after 15 days then yes you can get a refund from Mercari , which can take up to 10 days to be back in your account. So 3 weeks or so after you placed an order you get your payment back. And once you get a refund they consider the transaction closed & there’s no way to leave a review for that seller to let people know they may or may not get something if you order from this person. It seems that Mercari has set things up to make sure the sellers don’t get in trouble for not honoring a sale and shipping the item. The person that made me go through this last hassle , who had a 5 star rating , simply re-listed the exact same item for a higher price. I will probably still use Mercari as it is a good place to find collectibles , but not happy with this aspect of the service.

Mercari Ripped Me Off. I downloaded Mercari after a friend told me about it. I noticed they had a referral bonus that when I refer a person they get $10 off when purchase first item and then I get $10 credit. I decided to tell a bunch of friends/family and we were going to do an outside white elephant party where you wrap gives and open them where you can then steal gift or open a different one. I ended up getting 7 of the people coming to party to use mercari. I was then going to use my $70 credit to buy a big gift and put into the mix to make it exciting. However, when I started getting my referral credits, Mercari froze my account. I tried to reach out dozens of times to get it fixed but then ended up not responding. Then when I got a item I actually purchased for full price $65, it was broke. Ironically, mercari also made it so I couldn’t respond to seller to let them know and I could not submit that it was broken to mercari. I again sent multiple responses to mercari through help tickets and got no response. The only option I had left was to tell credit card company not to pay until situation is fixed. Instead of fixing mercari deleted my account and now I have a broken item and no help on what to do with it. All my friends are going to delete their apps. This is why I was hesitant to switch from eBay. I also was planning on selling through mercari and instead of eBay as well but wanted to test it before I switched. I am glad I did a trial run first.

Favorite selling app. I use and have tried using many selling apps. This one is by far my favorite for many reasons. I've been using it for about half a year now with over 300 reviews. The percentage they take may seem like a lot at first but it's definitely worth it. I like that when people make offers it's easy to communicate with them through private message instead of all conversations being public like some other apps. It's very easy to list, and I can quickly list items now that I'm used to it. Every time I've had an issue with a transaction or a question, they've quickly responded back (even on weekends). It's not an issue to me that there's no number to call because I always get a personalized answer to my questions. This selling app by far has the most superior customer service. Even though it's my favorite, there are some flaws. Areas to improve: 1. sometimes the app takes a while to load when first opening it (pictures won't show). 2. It would be helpful if they started some kind of authenticity check for very expensive designer items. 3. It would be nice to have a cheaper shipping option for under 0.5 lbs (categories for 0-0.5 lbs, 0.5-1.5, 1.5-3, 3-5, and the rest of the current categories). I usually have to do my own shipping for these items to help buyers with cost but this takes more time obviously.

Works great but could use a few tweaks. I have been using mercari for years now and I have always enjoyed buying and selling. My only recommendations to make the app itself better and more appealing are when it comes to “my likes” I wish there was a way we it could be sorted and for it to be categorized into their respective selections, such as if I am looking for a particular phone I liked I shouldn’t be scrolling for minutes at a time to find it, it would make it much easier to have a menu there that’s includes choices like women’s clothing, electronics etc. so I can find it much easier, and now for the second recommendation, for some reason if I happen to scroll on my likes and click on something like a pair of shoes and I exit out of that window and back to my likes, it reverts back to the very top!!!!! It’s the same way with my inbox/buying messages!! I can be scrolling down for about a minute, click on something on either my likes or messages exit out of that particular page and go back and I would still end up at the very top! It is frustrating!!! For some reason though this problem does not exist when I am searching for something on browsing page, if I click on an item then exit out of that items page back to the browsing it still keeps me in that same browsing place as opposed to making me start looking from the very top again like I do in “My Likes” and the messaging portion. Please fix this soon!!!!! It is very irritating! Other than that this app is great :)

Mercari don’t be ebay!. Watch your coupons guys. I earned a $20 coupon for listing a certain amount of items in an allotted time. My coupon said it expires 9/22, and it was there until I clicked on it to use it then it disappeared and I questioned the ones in charge and was told figuratively oh well get over it, better luck next time. They said it expired on the 21st but my coupon clearly said 9/22. I received a message on 9/19 saying it wAs going to expire the next day, which also didn’t make any sense. They’ve never done this to me in the past so just be weary. Ebay has better customer service. I didn’t do anything wrong, the screw up was on your business end, take responsibility and fix it. That’s customer service. I love mercari and I prefer it over ebay for the simplicity. Mercari is becoming a big deal now so with all the money rolling in I guess it’s time to throw in some extra fees; fees, the same way ebay does with their own company PayPal, and the exact same amount mind you, this way I don’t run screaming for the hills. When I’m scrolling through a seller’s list of items for sale something “always” and I mean absolutely every single time since I started on here over a yr ago a glitch! Boop! Just like that I’m thrown off the site completely sometimes to my home screen and other times if it gets real frustrated with my scrolling it’ll knock me out to my lock screen!!! and I have to start alllll over. I can’t ever get to see everything.

Great app for selling. It’s a great app overall. If you are looking for an easy way to sell your unwanted items, then this app is for you. You take a picture of the item, post it with the right description, weigh your item and estimate shipping (shipping in this app is sooo much cheaper than shipping it yourself) and they do all the work! I usually sell my items within a week. They charge 10% but its totally worth it. What I like the most about this app is that they protect the buyer and seller. When someone buys your item, they pay upfront. Then once you ship the item and they receive and expect it, they rate you. You then rate them back and get paid. The only thing I don't like is that you don’t receive funds right away. They only deposit the balance once a week (usually after the following monday) so you have to make sure to request a deposit by the Sunday before. Things I would like for them to change when you message buyer/seller, is to add emojis and pictures. They overprotect sometimes and will shut down your message if it contains any words like (“free”, “trade” or personal information like email or phone number. etc.) so There’s no real way to be able to share in a picture a damage or item missing in the messenger portion. However if you do have a damage you can file a claim and they usually take a couple days to contact you back. No funds are release during that time. Anyway overall great app, I’m at almost 100 sales with 100 5 stars 🤗💕

Limited & Threatened My Account, Took Forever To Retract. After using Mercari for a year, I’ve never had an issue before...until now. Back in February of this year, I ordered an item that was marked as picked up at the Post Office in the tracking, but I never did so I contacted Mercari Customer Service which told me to contact USPS. After filing a claim, one month later they told me to dispute the transaction with my card issuer, which I did thinking it was the last way to get back my hard earned money. A few days later, I planned to buy an item (for a bargain) which landed on a Sunday, but when the day came I received a notification that Mercari limited my account & threatened to close it permanently unless I canceled the dispute. I could understand that since USPS was at fault (which is a whole other nightmare). I’ve worked very hard to gain a good reputation on my profile so I sucked up the $80. Worst part of it, they took so long to reply and they even asked for proof. After providing a screenshot of my bank letter I still had to verify my identity, and took several more days. To add insult to injury, the item I planned to buy was sold, 23 hours before I was cleared! If they had only moved 1 day faster! Overall I’m EXTREMELY frustrated and angry. Mercari completely lost my loyalty.

Starts great but can end badly.... I should start off by saying I loved this app. Yes, I got rude buyers occasionally but that’s with any selling site. Also this site has a lot of rules and regulations. Which is fine, just make sure you know them. Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of all them. I had a buyer that wanted to purchase from me. She lives in another country but has a forwarding shipping company here in the states. I was aware of all of this considering the buyer purchased from me more than once. I recommended we try Mercari because the shipping would be cheaper. The transaction went through no problem. Printed my shipping label and dropped it off at the pack & ship by my house. Only to find out later Mercari canceled the transaction! I tried to get my package back but couldn’t. The buyer was nice to pay me for the item that I sent. I tried messaging Mercari several times only to be told they don’t accept those shipping places. I even tried to pay Mercari for the shipping label used only to end up getting my own account suspended. No warnings.. no emails explaining that the behavior was against there rules. And out of 7 customer reps I emailed asking the same question did I finally get an answer regarding the package and shipping label I used. All the rest just emphasized my account was suspended. & this was five days AFTER the packaged got sent out. Good thing the buyer paid me! Needs better customer service & more warnings instead of immediately suspending accounts.

Finally a selling app that works. I love this app! I used to sell on eBay and Poshmark, and although I do still shop on those apps, I hate selling there! Nothing sells! Or if it does it takes forever and then the fees are so high, especially eBay, who I obnoxious in the fact that only “promoted” items sell for me and then increases their fee.... it’s not worth the effort. I’ve sold 7 things in less than 2 months on this app! The market here is not completely saturated yet and hopefully it won’t get that way, but it’s great. Unlike Poshmark, you can message people, and unlike eBay, it isn’t overrun by stores. There is one flaw I’d like them to know about though and it’s a loophole that shady users are doing. What happens is someone will purchase an item from them, they will say that they shipped it when they haven’t but they confirm that it’s shipped on your app, which will then prompt the buyer to accept the order thus releasing your funds to them when you never received the item. So they get your funds and you are left losing your money with no item to return. Luckily they didn’t get my money because I did not accept the order but this person sure tried to get me to through messages....only to cancel the order when I requested tracking info. I’m sure they have fooled others though sadly.

Almost perfect. I really like mercari. I don’t even mind the fees too much, because I appreciate the built in security for sellers and buyers. However there are a few things that allow scammers to get around. First thing. I ship someone and item, they said they want to return. I get back a package from them that has some garbage in it and they got their refund and my product. Refunds should be able to be reviewed by sellers same as purchases by the buyer. Secondly, we need to be able to rate someone who forced a cancellation. I bought an item and after a week the seller told me that they had a better offer and if I wanted to pay 20 more than they would re-relist at a higher price for my to buy. If not then I need to cancel the order. Either way they weren’t going to cancel it because they didn’t care how long my money was held for. This should be something that I could have left a review and warning for others. Lastly, please give us an option to put an item on hold for people until a certain time. If the person fails to purchase by that time we should be able to review or it should be an automated “this person failed to purchase a hold” left in review section. If the person does purchase on time then the review should say “this item was on hold” and that way others see that the buyer follows through. These are just a few things I know bothers myself and many other sellers. Thanks for listening.

Used to rate Mercari as the best but…. Now they’ve added features to the app that I absolutely do not like. Firstly, they raised their shipping rates which affect both the buyers and sellers. With the amount of volume that is shipped out through the app, I know for certain that they can renegotiate better rates even with postal rate increases. Instead they pass it on to us. To boot it always defaults to the carrier with the highest option to ship (UPS) so I’m sure they're getting paid on the back end, making a profit off it. For those of us who have our own accounts with USPS and Federal Express, we should still have the option to use our own carrier accounts to ship. The sellers and buyers are helping keep the USPS and other carriers employed & busy so the rates should be lower. The app used to let us ship on our own, now our only option is to use the carrier and rates that they have defaulted. Some of us can get better rates than what they offer. Seems like the bigger an app gets, the greedier they become. On top of that, they now make “recommendations” for sales prices to sellers as we post an item, then if it’s not what they think it should be they say “slow sale”…no one needs their input. They’re getting a portion of the sale amount so why should they care what we price things at. It’s an unnecessary and annoying feature. I like the old Mercari much better.

*read before downloading* app is great, customer service is not. TLDR: app is great, customer service is impossible to reach and not helpful. If you need more stories do some research and look on Reddit. Stay safe out there :) The app is nice. It’s easy to use and I like how easy it is to look at different sizes versus the other apps that have “my size”. I’ve bought and sold many things on here and I’ve always had a good experience until about a week ago and I wanted to warn everyone about it. I asked to return something (the title said it was something and showed up as something else). I reached out to customer service and if you ever need customer service good luck… they only respond to your email at the max once a day, they have no chat, and every time I’ve tried to call it automatically says they cannot support me. Then I thought ok I’m done with it here, turns out if you want to transfer out the money you made it’s a $2 fee…. So I am just warning everyone to proceed with caution because the customer service is non existent and they are not looking out for you. They tried to blame me for my need to return saying I should’ve asked more questions, but the title was wrong, I even looked it up by the product number since it was new with tags and compared the name of the product versus the name of the listing. If you don’t need to use customer service the app is great, but when you do expect to get no support and no remorse for the support.

Great but a dispute option would be nice. Easy app to sell or buy items. Some minor app issues (listing not loading and etc) here and there, but not much of a problem. However, It would be nice if there was a dispute option for ratings. I received a low rating from a buyer with the feed back that I need to improve on my ship time. They purchased an item at night and I shipped it the following morning. Yet I received a low rating with no context other than that improvement feed back. I have proof and evidence of the shipment being sent out the next day. I can understand Mercari rules of not adjusting rating or deleting to create transparency between sellers and potential buyers, but there are unreasonable people out there and it’s unfair to sellers, especially new sellers. Regarding the dispute option, I believe as long as the seller, or even buyers, provide proof that the issue was out of their control or that the rating was unreasonable, then there should be adjustments made. If the dispute option does not seem plausible, then clarification note. In other words, if the negative feed back was ship time and it was included in the rating, there should be an extra note that states the time it took for the seller to ship the item and the business days it took for it to arrived (ex. Seller shipped 2 days after purchased. Item arrived in 5 business days). At least then potential buyers could have more transparency and trust of the seller.

RATING SYSTEM NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. I like this app and I have sold quite a lot of things on it. Even things I never thought I would be able to sell! However, out of all the apps I sell on (Vinted, Poshmark & Mercari), I do not like Mercari’s rating system. It seems flawed to me that people can give you less than a 5 star rating but not have to explain why. When I receive a random 3 star rating without any explanation, I would like to know the reason behind it! I take pride in having 114 5 star reviews so I want to do everything I can to fix the problem or know feedback when I am given a rating less than 5 stars. I would like to be able to have a chance to defend myself or figure out the reason why. So, a seller rates me 3 stars then blocks me so that I can’t message them to ask about it, or buy anything from their closet even if I wanted to. How is that allowed or even considered fair? It’s kind of an unjust rating system. Especially because you can’t see what you have been rated as a seller until the buyer rates you. You could be rated 1 star by a really rude, unfair buyer and not know it until you have rated them 5 stars. I feel like the rating system could definitely improve in that if you leave less than a 5 star review, you should have to actually write out a reason why and give the person a chance to explain (like on Vinted) instead of just leaving 3 or 2 stars.

Confused. I find that this selling and buying is really great great Friday lotta great stuff lotta great people but it’s very confusing because if you buy a product or something and you think if you purchased it and then it doesn’t show up for days on your page and then you’ve been charged for it but it never shows that you’ve purchased it it shows sold but not to yourself so I am very confuse there’s been a lot of debits taken out of my checking account but nothing showed up I was very surprised that something showed up I didn’tI was the buyer I was almost going to purchase it from another person so I get very confused about that part so my car is great but the way they run it I think it’s a little bit I don’t know I don’t want to say bad night it’s just confusing to me I still have over charges in my account and I’m not sure whatthsy are for ? You can’t get anyone from Mercari to communicate with you it’s always a question answered by question answered my question so the communication with my car he is not great it’s the people that you work with that are wonderful they are the ones that show me the ropes and I really appreciate it so I don’t even know how to get in touch with Makari I guess her email to say hey what are these charges because I had a credit and I didn’t even use it all but they took it all so we’ll see. I will finish up my transactions and I will not work with Mercari anymore and as soon as I get my banking squared away with them

Great way to start out. I absolutely love selling and buying on Mercari. I highly recommend selling on here first if you start to sell anything. You don’t have to pay any listing or promotion fees like eBay and they only take a 10% cut from your sale which is decent. Any problem I’ve had from selling or buying, Mercari has always handled it with care. Especially with packages. Which is another plus since if you buy their labels from them you’ll get covered by their shipping protection program. I’ve had packages damaged in transit on eBay and they told me they couldn’t do anything about it because it was a postal issue and guess who was out of $80 plus? On here I had an issue where a package was lost in transit and I was protected and still got my money that I earned and the buyer received a refund. Which is great because you don’t have to deal with the stress of worrying if you’ll get your money. Another thing too is to buy the labels through Mercari. They’re already discounted compared if you were to buy them full price and trust me, shipping can be pricy. Make sure to have a shipping scale though. You don’t want to have your package returned or charged more because there wasn’t enough postage. Overall, a great place to sell and buy and you can do it without stressing.

Trading system and Bugs. This app is great. I love using it and get on at least everyday. But I would want to recommend one thing; a trading system. I think that this could be done while you are creating a listing and you can choose if that listing is open for trade. When someone is viewing the listing similar to the button for purchase there could be an offer trade, same for in the messages within the offer button there should be a choice for trades but only being able to offer what you have on your listing. Shipping should be paid buy both traders. If this some sort of trading system would be implemented into the app that would be great. On another note, I have been experiencing many bugs while on this app. On my device I am a part of the beta software program for iOS which possibly may be the reasons for this issue. The issue is that I can not open any listings or open any of my own items I am selling. As I open the app everything refreshes fine but as soon as I press a listing or look at my sale items the app kind of freezes for a little but then doesn’t do anything. As I try to press around on another listing the images of the past listing I pressed on keeps coming up not allowing me to view listings I am interested in.

Okay but be cautious buying used electronics. I purchased 2 Ooma Telo devices from this platform, both were defective. Sellers claimed the items were “like new” or “used” but “functional”. Upon receipt of the items both were found to have some type of hidden internal electrical problem that prohibited the devices from communicating therefore they were “NOT functional”. I would recommend caution to Buyers because of this. Make sure Sellers are qualified to insure the electronic item is indeed functional as advertised before purchasing. I will say that Mercari does have a purchase assurance policy and promptly refunded my purchase when notified. They only give you 3 days which is not enough time to determine the quality of purchased electronic items if they will require some type of setup process. They list a lot of already “Sold” items, outdated, expired or items no longer available. I found this to be disappointing when I found a great item I wanted to buy but the Ad was several years old the item was not removed from their inventory. Mercari should require their Sellers to reaffirm their advertised items at least periodically to make buying experience better. This platform would be great competition for eBay and other auction type merchants, sellers, traders, buyers & shoppers if they would fix those issues. Hopefully this App will improve soon if Mercari takes note. Thank you.

AMAZING... But this app was better before recent update. This app is great for selling and buying! You can find a lot of amazing and unique stuff for REALLY low prices. Selling is simple and straightforward. However, before the update sellers were able to view and reach out to people that “like” their items. Giving sellers the opportunity to follow up in effort to make a sale and/or offer discounts. Before the update, buyers were able to view the tags that sellers used to draw them in. When buying an item, I felt the tags gave insight to details that weren’t necessarily included in the title or description...As descriptions can often be too short or uninformative. I also noticed, and this may not be related to update, but the app would give a coupon for $1-$5 off or 5-10% off any item once you have sold an item. I think it was an insensitive to use seller balance to purchase on the app. When I was getting coupons, I was almost always feeding my balance back into the app by making purchases. Now, I haven't been getting them anymore so I've been transferring balance to my bank account. I think this app can wipe a lot of others completely off the map because it's just far more user-friendly and prices/seller fees/shipping is so much less! Overall, I give this app an A+ but BEFORE this recent update, it was much better.

Going downhill fast. I have been using this app for years. The customer service is abysmal the way they deal with customers and sellers as I am both is horrible. Shipping is insane they will blame the post office and say that they are in line with everyone else but they aren’t they are greedy and want more and more of your money while not understanding that it is killing their business. On one of the main pages it states for you the seller to price your items competitively which is hard to do when you are looking at insane fees. A t shirt four to seven ounces costs $7.40 to ship which makes it not even worth it to sell most items anymore. Other apps ship that same shirt for 4.50 or so and then you can bundle for another two or so until a few items become free to ship. I have been a seller and buyer for years have spent a ton more than I earned and still don’t have instant payout. I have to wait sometimes a very long time before being paid out other apps have this pretty early on. They also unlike other apps charge after the fact if the box you used to ship items makes your package weigh a little more. Other apps give you five shipping forgiveness tickets a month this comes in great if you want to ship your customer a little something to say thank you maybe an extra shirt or something along those lines. Again I haven’t used the app in quite a while due to these reasons it’s sad cause I used to buy multiple things a week.

Customer service needs improvement!!!!. The app does what it needs to and works well in terms of selling. However, the customer service needs to be better. The one time I reached out to them was due to a bad rating I received. Mind you, you can’t see that rating until you’ve rated the buyer. They left me a bad rating claiming the product was damaged and used, which it wasn’t, but the buyer made no attempt to reach out to me to rectify the situation. Mercari customer service told me not to be discouraged and continue selling bc it’s just one rating. They should have reached out to the buyer and have them send proof of the damages the buyer was claiming. Their msging system won’t allow you as a seller to do so. Or at least let me comment on their rating in attempts to rectify the situation. Honestly, something other than we can’t do anything about this. What’s the point of customer service then if not to help sellers and buyers with things like this? Also, I have friends who have had their photo listings stolen by other users and they reported to mercari. Same response of we can’t do anything about them, just block them. Blocking a user doesn’t prevent them from viewing your listings, only from msging & buying. My friend was also harassed after reaching out to the person asking them to not use their photos. What does mercari customer service do? Nothing. Point is, if you ever have a problem don’t expect mercari customer service to help.

Best Sales Platform Hands Down. If you’ve considered selling items online, or buying from the second-hand market, this is by far the easiest platform to learn on. The user interface takes care of both the buyer and the seller. Listing items are easy, and Mercari gives you an automatic suggestion for your listing price. This helps you see what people are paying for your item, which ultimately leads to quicker sales. I’ve drastically supplemented my income by selling everything from comic books, trading cards, and even action figures. I know about 5 people who go even further and sell pottery, kitchenware, shoes, and video games. We sell to the Mercari community, and I buy from the Mercari community. Choosing who to buy from is made easy due to being able to see the sellers reviews. Prepaid shipping is cheap and the buyer protection is a great. Mercari provides articles and forums IN APP to help walk you through everything from listing, packing, and getting paid. I’m not sure about the experience of others but when I request a payout through direct deposit it’s never taken more than 3 days. I tried selling on OFFERUP and it took me 28 days to get paid $50, not to mention the scams and spams I had to deal with. Mercari has been nothing but good to me as a seller. I’ve made good money, I have repeat customers, and have had an overall great experience. Hands down an EBay killer if they keep up the good work! - Slippy Collectibles

Hit and miss. It’s pretty convenient to sell things on this app, but buyer beware. I’ve purchased eight items from this app and have had issues with three. One shirt said new without tags and arrived quite worn and covered in animal hair. After requesting a return via the app, Mercari told me to keep the shirt and gave me a refund in the form of credit with a 30 day expiration time. (Annoying but ok, would have rather had my money back.) A couple porcelain figurines arrived broken. The app didn’t give me a return option so I called Mercari (12 minute hold time). They sent me an email to which I could respond with photos of packaging and damaged items. Upon reviewing the photos they agreed to refund my card and did so in a timely manner. That’s not the end though, UPS sent me emails about needing photos of box, tracking, broken items, etc but with no easy way to upload them. Eventually just called them and gave them a verbal explanation of damage and appearance of box, etc. Third problem item is duvet covers for a twin bed with significant shrinkage (not noted by seller). Again the app is not giving me a request a return option so I’ll have to waste time tomorrow calling them. Hopefully they will approve the request. The sellers on this app seem to be more shady than sellers on the other re-sale apps I use (PoshMark and eBay). I’ve had minor trouble with those sites, but my success rates as a buyer are way better than 5/8.

Best selling app. This app is great to sell and buy from! I’ve sold many items such as clothing I no longer wear or decor that’s no longer used. And in return I can use the balance to buy new clothes from the app. The shipping is high, which is why I always keep my prices super low. There’s always room for improvement in the app. It would be nice to send pictures of my items through the messages, I needed to send a picture to a buyer after she bought something because I noticed a defect with the product I didn’t see before. She asked for a picture but there was no way to send one to her after she’d bought the item. So I had to cancel the transaction, edit the pictures and wait for her to be refunded so she can repurchase. Maybe if there’s a way to take pictures through the messages section, that would be great! Especially if someone wants more pictures of a clothing item that you may not want to add to your listing, you could just send the pictures through messages! Also, it would be nice to use another system of payment, such as sending checks or using paypal! I’m too afraid to give out my bank info so I just use my earnings to purchase through the app! Other than that I’ve no problems with Mercari, it’s a great selling app with a good system!

Best selling app. I have done a TON of business through Mercari. Both buying and selling. Most transactions go smooth, but I have had a couple of issues. Any time I have ever had a problem, I reach out and I have been helped. This last situation deserved a 5 star review. I purchased a shirt from a seller, she waited past the three days to ship it. I asked for a refund on the 4th day and she clicked that she had shipped it. The tracking info never updated and by the 8th day after I purchased, it showed that it had been delivered. I checked and it was apparently picked up in Colorado where the seller lived. Mercari ended up refunding me my money, but the seller said they had shipped. A few days later, I received the shirt in the mail. I checked tracking and it still said it was delivered in Colorado, nothing further than that. I reached out to the seller to let her know that I got it, and Mercari. I wanted to make sure she was paid but didn’t know how to go about it since the item had been deactivated. Mercari thanked me for my honesty and ended up paying for the shirt and told me to keep it or do what I wanted, and also gave me a 5% coupon for my next purchase. I understand things happen, not every transaction will be the same. Some people won’t be happy with the way that things are dealt with...but I have always had great customer service with this app. Easy to sell, easy to buy..I will stay loyal to them because I think they’re great!! Best Selling App. I’ve used other apps like Poshmark, OfferUp, Craigslist etc. and this app is by far the best. The selling process is simple and streamlined and doesn’t require you to meet with anyone in person. Poshmark is more of a social selling app, where you have to get lots of followers and participate in selling parties etc. which was stressful and overwhelming. Poshmark was something I had to constantly keep up with because the app notifications were nonstop by the dozens every ten minutes notifying me of new followers and likes and selling parties I could join, and I never made a single sale. Mercari is so much simpler. You just post an item, and someone buys. They walk you through step by step what to do once you make a sale, from packaging to printing the label and exactly where and how to ship. If you have a question or an issue, the customer service team is friendly and efficient with their response. Mercari is actually a lot of fun to sell on. I have made quite a bit of money selling everything from clothes to jewelry to home decor to makeup brushes... you can pretty much sell anything you can think of! They offer great protection for the buyer as well, with many opportunities to make sure you don’t get scammed. They hold the money in limbo for three days until you make sure you get what you paid for. Five star app all around. Thanks Mercari!

Bundle Feature is a Necessity. In everything Mercari does and all the opportunities it provides for its users, Mercari is a perfect service. It’s allowed me to take an unpaid internship without worrying about making money to pay my tuition bill. It’s the best income I’ve ever made for the amount of effort I put in. The only thing that would make this service immensely better is the ability to officially bundle. I had a situation where a customer wanted 9 of my listings, and I of course was willing to give her a big discount because I appreciated that. I also wanted her to save on shipping, because of course every listing also sells a shipping label. In order to fulfill her bundle, I made her a personalized listing that included all of her items and priced the items and shipping accordingly. Unfortunately, she was unable to navigate the service and find her listing, as I believe she’s new to the service. Instead, she just bought two of the nine, and paid full shipping for both. Now I have to ship both in separate packages to accommodate the tracking of the order, and now she paid $8 for two packages that will arrive on her doorstep on the same day from the same sender, instead of paying $4 for one package. The only solution is to build a bundle feature for the app, and I think both buyers and sellers would benefit immensely from this.

I LOVE THIS APP!. I love to shop at cheap prices and this app helps me with that. It’s kinda like eBay in a way but I feel it’s better at keeping you from getting scammed. All items I’ve seen on Mercari(granted were funkos and animal crossing items so far) were all pictures you take from a camera and you could REALLY tell it was taken with a phone camera 😂. I like that if you have an issue with your order then the app doesn’t pay the seller(not that I’ve had any issues so far. 100%been ok). App is very good at keeping communication clear and also has automated questions you can send to sellers before buying. I recommend if your looking for stuff at a cheaper price. There’s filters so you can find items that are new or like new if you don't want something used or looked used. There’s no bidding either(that I know of) which I appreciate because that’s one of the things I don’t like about eBay. With Mercari I can just buy the item if I want it and not have to fight with others or wait four+ day’s for it to tell me I won and got the item. Mercari also has deals you can add to your cart that can lower what you pay by a decent amount. There was this one item I was look at that was like 23-25(?) and I could get it for 18 by just pressing on what discount I wanted. All in all I recommend this app. It’s how I finally got my Alexei Funko Pop(stranger things)!!!!

A lot to Catch Up On. We are only one month or so into Mercari after successfully selling in eBay, Poshmark and another large platform. These platforms are all pushing high quality photography with white backgrounds with improve search engine results along with the quality of the overall platforms. We have listed items to Mercari in the same manner and on two occasions had our account deactivated due to “stock” photos even though they are actual photos. In addition Mercari allows stock images provided there is at-least ONE actual. To add to the frustration you cannot get live support to resolve these things and are left with an inactive account that’s unable to generate revenue. Furthermore we have been contacted by more scammers requesting personal calls and people requesting to purchase items for 75-90% less than the market value and greatly discounted listing price. To add to this we even get messages from Mercari to discount items 50+% or greater to “make the sale”!? I believe we will soon be deactivating this account ourselves and focusing on platforms better suited to handle high level selling. It’s unfortunate as we had hoped that Mercari would be a platform to sustain more growth. Unless we see a serious uptick or support from Mercari improved we will remove our 500+ listings and move on....

Shipping costs. That app is overall good and easy to use, however it does lack some areas. The first thing Is shipping costs, especially with USPS. They claim it’s discounted shipping but eBay, Pirateship and Facebook marketplace all have better shipping costs specifically in the up to 1 pound Category and don’t option for a 12oz package. They must not be passing all the discounts onto their customers and keeping some. Another thing is your conversations are AI monitored. You mention Facebook or a website and you get a warning and conversation deleted. You also can’t look up usernames so if you stumble upon someone and like what they have make sure to follow them or you’ll never find them again. You don’t get paid until people rate you which could hurt a lot of sellers but it doesn’t bother me much. There’s really no way to dispute a rating and some people just hate life so they give you a not so nice rating for no apparent reason. Getting paid could be easier. eBay has direct deposit daily and it is a nice feature. Here you basically have an account and they hope you spend more of it before you eventually cash out. Fees are ok but when you’re selling very cheap items your basically paying 20 something plus percent because they charge an extra 50 cents for every transaction on top of the 2.9% processing fee and 10 percent commissions.

No Seller protection. I sold a Louis Vuitton speedy in fair condition for a fair price. The buyer changed her mind about the bag. All sale are supposed to be final , unless the item was different than described. Well the buyer decided to slash 3 of the 4 corners of my bag , in an attempt to get a refund ,,based on the slashes not being disclosed in the description. They were not disclosed because they did not exist. Mecari immediately approved the refund and issued the refund before I was able to dispute it. Even tho I immediately disputed it once the bag arrived back to me and I saw what she had done. I have been back and fourth with customer service via chat on the app. Which is not live. So I wait and wait and wait for a reply each time I pled my case. Long story short,, there is no protection for you as a seller. This person could have sent me back a bag of jelly beans ,,, but as soon as the item is marked delivered,,,, case closed. The criminals and scammers that may be using this app also get your name and address from the shipping when you sell or buy something. Which in my case is not so bad because I plan to take this person to court. That’s if it’s even a real name. Mercari has been no help at all. I’ve been sent messages apologizing that the transaction did not go as I would have like.... uh no it didn’t. No compensation for the damage to my bag. If you sell anything at all... don’t let it be anything of value. If you buy something, you’re still taking a gamble.

I Don’t Understand. Overall the app Itself is great and works as intended. The only issue I have is if you plan on taking any money you make selling on Mercari and sending it to your bank account. I added my account info and tried to send my balance to my account. I was wondering why it was taking so long to transfer and saw a notice that said “Transfer was cancelled by Mercari” which said my account # was wrong in which I was charged $2 fee. I checked and my account number correct, so I decided to eat another $2 just to get the money transferred to my card same day. Transaction went thru but when I went to transfer again later it says that I cannot use that account to make a transfer. I added my other checking info in which the transaction was later cancelled stating my account info was wrong in which I was charged another $2. I had one last account I usually just use for bills in which I added my info. Again the transaction was cancelled for wrong account # which was actually the right info and I was charged $2 again. So from what I’m suspecting is they really want you to keep the money you make within the app and spend with them so they can get their commission fee. Rating review. I’m so happy that I joined Mercari to sell my things !! I buy and resell expensive items and sell them to customers for a fair price !! I also love the new changes Mercari has made on the app!! Thanks to Mercari I am officially a full time seller!! Now the downfall of selling on Mercari is that there are customers who unfairly give you a bad rating. And you can’t read the review first before rating them back, so you go and give the buyer an excellent review. This is so unfair because you’re not given the chance to defend yourself and your left with a bad rating that was given to you unfairly. Mercari really needs to work on this it really would be nice if they can allow us s to read the reviews from the buyer first before giving our review explaining our situation. I’m a perfectionist and getting a bad review unfairly affects my ability to sell my items . Of course nobody is perfect but I do check my items thoroughly before posting them for sale. sometimes I’ll make a minor mistake with an item . But when it comes to other items like makeup or clothing I check it thoroughly before categorizing it . Some costumers that buy from you are sellers too and they know what it means to have a five star review. So again please Mercari I’m begging you fix this problem thank you.

Great place to sell and buy. As someone who likes to shop in thrift stores for my self and my family , I fell into shipping g to re sell and make some extra money , I already know how to shop in thrift stores , it took me a good year to get a good idea how to sell . I’m still learning as I go . After selling on three sites , I stopped and just decided to stay here on Mercari , they only charge 10 percent . Shipping is reasonable. I can track every package . Messaging buyers is easy and receiving messages is easy too ! A little more work on this app to make bundles but , it’s possible and worth the effort . Not as many sales with just being here , but I don’t make any mistakes , and I’m not stressed out . After reading my first review .. I have more to say , I still like selling here on Mercari . Things are tight right now as the cost of living has increased a lot . I appreciate having the items here to sell and make the money that I do . So far this money has in the past , purchased snow tires for my car , heating oil for my home , birthday presents for my granddaughter . And now , it buys gas to put in my Honda civic . It also bought the oil change for my car . I really would struggle if I couldn’t sell here on Mercari . So thank you ! I am grateful . Very grateful.

Liked items and searching users by account name?. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE this app?!!!!!!! No joke, it’s legit the BEST APP TO SHOP ON!!!! I’m literally on this app every single day...haha I don’t get on Facebook at all anymore even, because of this app! But I really only have a couple small issues with this app. To start off with and I’m not sure if it’s a big issue or what it is but going through my likes items and when I click on one then go back to the liked items list is for whatever reason puts me either completely at the front of the list or right there close to it?! NOTHING IS MORE AGGRAVATING than to be so far into your list (it literally takes hours...) just to have to carefully scroll through trying not to click on any (which the reason why I’m scrolling so far back in the first place is to find the items to relike them back to the front of the list) Which brings me to question; there’s literally no other way to make the “likes items” other than this way it’s being done now? Like I don’t really know what other way to do it but the way it is now makes it extremely hard to go back through and look at the items I’ve saved.. The 2nd is searching things!! Why on earth can’t you search a user by either their email or by the name they’ve givin on their account???? Other than those two things I have absolutely NOTHING remotely close to negative about this app! I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Why do we have to give a star?. A complete scam. Customer service people. I sent out a big item with $300 and the buyer Rakow ( not real name) said she accidentally received a gel foot sole by accident & since customer service doesn’t ask u nothing they supposedly have a team that gets together and makes decisions with not 1 ounce of yr side . They exacted it and now I’m out $ and the item. When I got mad and kept Contacting their “customer service “ the closer my account after 244 5 star sells & 1 4star ! If yr a con artist this is yr website and if yr a hard working American stay as far away as possible. The better business bureau told me that they have a lot of violations. If u think I’m just some angry person then go to google mercari bbb and reviews there r hundreds of stories by other pple who were scammed by mercari cause I don’t blame the con artist that’s their job I blame the business that treats their sellers like dirt sellers that broke their backs 4 them only to be stabbed in it! Seller beware and buyers to. They didn’t even make the list of places to sell on & they have been open and running for 9 yrs now that should tell u everything right there. They also place great ratings cause I had to erase my review to a seller on here that I didn’t put here and it was a nice review about the seller and they edited it to look like I said that about them con artist all around. Better than Facebook Marketplace. Okay so I’ve been using this app for YEARS. I have made a couple thousand dollars on everything I’ve sold. I mainly buy and resell clothing but some electronics too since I manage a phone store. When you sell something please be aware that you do not receive payment until the item is received by the buyer and they have inspected and given you a rating. After you receive a rating you then rate the buyer as well. The ratings are kind of nice but once in awhile you will run into a buyer who is just an a hole and gives you a 1 star because it took you an extra day to ship the item. (Yes it’s happened to me a couple times.) I blocked them and refuse to sell to them again. When buying stuff please look at the other persons profile. Read the reviews they have been given and how many listings they have. You can also see when the last time they posted an item was to determine if they are still active. If the buyer doesn’t rate you within a couple days then mercari team will automatically give you a 5 star with no comment. When selling please make sure to take good quality photos. And please make a detailed description of the item. Trust me, you don’t want the item showing up different than you described it. Overall this is the best app I have used to sell and buy items. The only thing I wish they would improve is maybe a live agent to talk to instead of waiting days for an email about your issues.

The app is ok but search terms are problematic at best. I use the app pretty regularly when I can’t find something on eBay or offerup but I constantly run across issues with the app from search results changing based on how you sort, limiting listing to a certain price if you sort by lowest price(even if you know there are listings that exceed the price the search is ending at when you’re scroll down) and even listings disappearing all together(like switching from newest to best). The other annoying item is searching for more generic terms but still specific enough to be for a specific sub category. The search terms are not yielding correct results like typing telescope yields 90% of the listings for binoculars, spiting scopes, etc. with no ability to remove key words from the search to further filter results like I can do on other sites/apps and the search filtering process just lacks the intuitiveness I would expect for search algorithms. At this point I would even request a sort by highest price just so I can find what I’m looking for quicker than having to scroll through hundreds of listing for low prices items that aren’t related to my search only to find that the app will no longer display the rest of the listings that exist for that specific search term because of the amount of $5-10 items that really don’t relate to the terms I’ve entered. Would also appreciate even more sub-category options to filter terms as well

Great app overall but..... I love mercari. Ever since i found out about it i haven’t used any other app to sell. I began using mercari when they didn’t even charge a selling fee. I still use it considering they only want 10% which is worth it. The only thing i would like to see changed on the app is how sensitive it is when listing. What i mean by that is i would post an authentic item and they would just take it down for some reason for fraud or something like that. Also i feel they should look into a seller’s background before just shutting down accounts. I had 75 GREAT ratings and one person reported me for whatever reason and they banned me. Of course i got another account because like i said i love mercari and for two my account was shut down for no reason. I would also like if they let you use your bank information on a different account once you take it off a previous account. The last thing that would make mercari a great place to sell if somehow you could instantly get access to your funds if you chose direct deposit. If not that i feel there should be more than one payout day. Other than that i would highly recommend using mercari to buy/sell your items. Keep up the good work Mercari!

Authentication could use more work. I’ve been selling on Mercari for years and have always loved it. Been my number one go to app for selling but lately it’s been draining trying to sell my luxury handbags on there. The authentication feature needs to be fixed. Not every bag or luxury item has a serial ID or a “made in” section. Especially the newer LV models that are now microchipped. Mercari should move to the system Poshmark has where any $500+ item gets sent to the Poshmark authentication center before it arrives at the buyers house so they authenticate every item prior to it being delivered to the buyer. This would make life easier. A lot of my items get denied because they’re being reviewed by people that aren’t aware of all luxury items and the fact that not every single one is the same or has the same things on it. I was trying to sell a Tiffany ring and it got declined because I didnt have a made in picture even though I showed the receipt and all the packing that came with it. Some Rings don’t have a “made in” section. Anyways, selling luxury items is becoming a hassle and making me turn to Poshmark even though they have larger fees but at least they’re easier to work with!

Needs improvement!. Ive been selling on Mercari since the beginning of January. I’ve had pretty decent experiences with making sales and what not, however it is really upsetting that when you get a rating of a 1 star (that you feel was not deserved at all and your buyer has written that myself as the seller tried to “rip them off”) that you cannot defend yourself! I take pride in my 5 star ratings that when I get a rating of anything less I’d love to be able to reach out to the buyer through messages to try and make the situation better for them that way I’m not being told in the ratings section that I am ripping someone off when I have not and do not ever intend to do anything like that and possibly ruin any future sales I could have from other people due that negative review. Mercari’s promotional limits are also very annoying. Poshmark does not limit the amount of times I can promote my items, why does Mercari? If I am trying to make a sale I constantly update my prices so that way l can attract more buyers to my items and have more transactions. The final thing I feel like Mercari needs to improve is the amount of time it takes to get the balance of money from sales processed in order to transfer it to my bank account, it feels like it takes forever! Other than those few things I love the app and intend to continue to sell on it!

Do not use. I am reviewing as a seller and the buyer, as they promise buyer and seller protection in fact they only protect them selves and their own wallets, the buyer is the second to get some protection and the seller has none , the buyer can scam and fraud the they always give them money back , I have lost in over $800 because costumer service was never willing to read msgs between me and the buyer, now as a buyer I received a damaged item that was damaged by the delivery company not the seller and still they made the seller pay for return shipping, I think they should have paid for at least that to drive that protection to the seller, very ignorant costumer service, they told if I don’t like how they handle the business I should keep damaged item and close my return. I hate that the seller has to pay from their own pockets to get their items back . They should have covered that as good and trustworthy company which obviously they are not . They charge 3 different fees plus taxes on all sales so you end up with only few dollars from each sale . The idea of this was nice but they didn’t think it through to make it a safe and honest place , they would not allow sellers and buyers to exchange pictures of items and it makes it very hard to communicate and resolve problems without having a headache. If you don’t have to buy here please don’t it is not worth of your time . eBay offers much more protection and less fee

Good until it’s not. Starting out I loved this app. Easy to sell stuff I don’t wear/use but when I finally encountered a problem I realized how terrible their customer service is. I sold a pair of authentic True Religion shorts. I opened the app one day to find that the buyer requested a refund, mercari gave them the refund but did not have them send the item back. I was completely unaware of why the refund was requested and issued I do days after when the buyer finally responded to my message. The buyer claimed the shorts were not authentic. But they were... so obviously I want them back. I messaged the buyer multiple times with no response for days. I tried to go through the mercari help AND IT IS RIDICULOUS. They only offer FAQ. if your problem is not on there, you will not receive any answers. Any response I got told me to tell the buyer to go through mercari help to start a refund. But the buyer insists that I send them some kind of shipping label because they already did the refund through mercari instruction and were not told to return them. I now haven’t heard any other response from the buyer and mercari help IS NO HELP. So they got a FREE pair of authentic true religion shorts. Not to mention mercari fees are over the top. You’d think with the fees they charge they would actually have good customer service. But no. ZERO STARS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!

Terrible customer service and no protection of buyer. I had bought a tv on this app on the 11th of November. The seller sent the shipping information to fed ex on the 12th. After waiting about 4 days for them to give the package to I messaged them to see what was taking so long to drop the package off at fed ex. They said that it was en route to fed ex which was a lie. I reached out to mercari the next day because I was still waiting for the seller to drop the package off at fed ex, now it’s been 4 days. I was completely ignored on Twitter after getting one reply. Then I emailed mercari they said that they’d update me. It’s now the 17th of November and still nothing so I tried to send a 2nd cancellation request and asked them to please accept this time. The seller ignored me. Come the 19th the seller messaged me back and said that they can’t accept cancellation because they’ve sent it. I’ve sent two cancellation requests to this person and they ignored me on both and sent the package to fedex 8 days after giving fedex the shipping information. Customer service was no help & there should be a time slot for when people should give the item to fed ex. I literally don’t even want the tv anymore, I just wanted my money back

Good idea, bad execution.. Mercari is a great idea for an app and I will continue to use it. However, Mercari could stand to revise their policies on things. There is no protection for the buyer to start off, on Poshmark if you make an accidental purchase you can cancel within a short amount of time and have no issues and immediate refund. For Mercari, even if you wish to cancel 1 min after buying, you will have to request the seller and they most likely will ship it anyways and ignore the cancellation request because there is no repercussion. Likewise, Mercari’s idea of identity checking and deciding someones account should immediately be limited without question is ridiculous. My husband made and account and our address is the same (obviously) we both already had the identity check done and they limited both of our accounts. It took me about 2 weeks to get that fixed and to even get a hold of them about it. (Their help center is also extremely difficult to navigate) my husband encouraged me to keep trying to reactivate my account because if it had been up to me I would have left. His account is still not active. And it took me about a month to post anything on there because everything that was active on my account had been deleted and needed a re posting. Hopefully Mercari can fix these issues over time, but it is definitely frustrating.

Needs changes and updated. There needs to be a save for later/draft button for when you are selling items. So that way we can go back and edit them later super easy. However, it’s very hard to remember/find where the draft button is at as of right now so that definitely needs to be changed right away. But, if you can also add an “save for later + add to cart button” under the part of where we add out items to our cart that would be amazing as well and helpful for shopping purposes too. One last thing that I would also change to complete this app and make it be so much better is to also add a order history section so we can go back and check all of our orders from there instead of having to go to the web version all the time for certain stuff. Please take this into consideration. This would be extremely helpful for the app. This is also coming from a person who just signed up for this app and wanted to give it a go for the first time. So this is my first experience. But this is just the main stuff I would like added in order for me to stay on this app. Otherwise it’s too complicated and frustrating to shop. But as of right now I will be patient and work with it until there are more updates and changes happening to the app.

Mercari is great when it comes to buying, but it’s selling options are sorta mixed.. The aspect of Mercari’s buying system is perfect. You can get some fast deliveries within a couple of days depending on who you are buying from. It’s really hard to get scammed on this app, so you will 90% get the item you want. Refunds are allowed at all times which is great. You can actually set up offers. Everything on the buying aspect is perfect. However selling off items is sorta frustrating. Usually with these apps like Depop and Grailed, you get the money as soon as you sell an item. That’s a different story with Mercari. You don’t get the money until the sold item is delivered. I dislike waiting for almost an entire week just to get a measly twenty dollars. I want the money as soon as I put it in shipping. Having to wait awhile for this to happen makes it hard for sellers to enjoy the app, because truly it is an amazing app. Why not make it perfect by allowing sellers to get the money up front? If people are worried about scammers, they can look at a users account and get a good look to see if they are trustworthy. A lot of the people on here are very friendly and deserve to get their money up front. In conclusion, it has a small flaw, and like people like me, we deserve our money for selling off our prized possessions. 4/5

Great Place for New Sellers. I love Mercari-Both as a seller and as a buyer. It’s a great place to start if your new to selling online. They have the second lowest fees of all the apps of its kinds that I’ve personally found (first lowest fees being Facebook Marketplace) The entire selling process starting from listing all the way to receiving payment is very simple and straightforward. One of my favorite and ultimately why I chose to try to Mercari in the first place is because it’s a straight forward buy/sell app. You don’t have to invest time Into building a social platform like others apps (like Poshmark etc.) If you decide to give selling a whirl on Mercari the best advice I can give you is treat your buyers the way you would want to be treated and you’ll be fine :) As a buyer there’s a huge selection from what seems like any category you can think of. I have only had a couple issue with items I purchased not being authentic. I contacted Mercari with my concern and was promptly sent a prepaid return label. I received a full refund once the items return tracking Was updated to delivered. My overall experience with sellers on Mercari for the most part has been great.

Mercari was sketchy at first…. I generally get kind of leery buying things second hand online because I don’t trust too many sites or applications that offer people to buy and sell unless it’s a huge name. I started using Mercari a while ago, and checked them out from time to time and never bought anything. I seen something on here that was perfect, and I wanted it, so I gave in and bought it. I was terrified despite their promises of satisfaction guaranteed / warranty / etc… Well this speaks for the people I’ve contacted on here and bought from, and the application in whole when I say that they went beyond my expectations. I am so happy and use Mercari as a personal “life hack” to purchase usually expensive things for fractions of the price. (I swear I’m not a sponsored reviewer.) I recently bought steel toed work shoes for $45 (s+h included) that are originally $132+++. These shoes were brand new, and, they were worth every penny. I’ve not had a run in with anyone negative on here as Mercari has people who buy / sell on here verify their identity before you are allowed “Instant Pay” meaning they won’t get my money instantly until i confirm the product was shipped and how they described. I really tried. So let’s take a stroll down my latest adventure with this app. I downloaded it the other day and have been looking around it until I found something I wanted to buy. Low and behold I found something I want. So I have to input my address for shipping and obvious reasons, ok that should be easy! So I go on and put in my info and hit finished . . . Cannot find address.. ok weird so I try it a different way and then a few others changing 1s to ones and so forth but still the same result. Alright so I’m a little flustered by this but let’s see if I can get help from their help center. Now brace yourself this is the part that really put my privates (for the kids) in a vice. I searched the help center for this problem didn’t find it so I checked other areas of it to no avail. Ok so then I click contact us thinking surely they can assist me directly. But guess what, it takes me straight back to the help center!!!! No email no phone number to contact not even a recommendation to their website ( if they have one) NOTHING. I really took every step within this app I could think of and they proved to me their customer service ranks lower than any I’ve ever had the pleasure of being able to contact.. So GL TLDR- Id rather be put on hold with Comcast all day.

My Go-To for Selling!. I love Mercari! I started using it a little more than two years ago to share my items with a different audience than eB**. I’ve made over four figures on the app, it’s a great side hustle! The app is easy and straight-forward. I can list multiple items seamlessly in just a few minutes. They don’t force options on you or change your preferences after a couple of weeks like other sites. I prefer it over other sites I use to sell. I’ve never gotten the short end of the stick in sale gone wrong. Their customer service is always willing to help out, respond quickly, and do what they can to make sure the deal works out in my and the other party’s favor. Even when my mailman never delivered an item I ordered, the Mercari team gave me a credit for what I spent on the item and allowed the seller to keep their earnings as well. I’ve never had any issues! I hope they keep up the great work and keep things the way they are if they’re working well. I know they surveyed users on some new features, so they’re always looking for ways to improve. Just keep in mind Mercari team: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! You’ve got a good thing going here. Keep listening to your consumers and chugging along and you’ll be a major competitor!

Mercari support is AWFUL.. The lack of transparency when it comes with mercari support is egregious. I wanted to create my own account to start selling, but had trouble because I had an account three years ago and it was shut down by mercari. The whole process in contacting them was back and forth was such a waste of time. They told me my account was taken down by accident but did NOT tell me it was reinstated. I couldn’t figure out why until I told them I had submitted the required info to verify and that’s when they told me. My next issue has to do with setting my account up to start selling. I had no problem verifying my account with my ID and waited a couple a days and nothing happened. I reached out again to support and they told me my mom needed to verify not me. Didn’t make sense to me until I saw that I had set up my account years ago with my moms bank account since I didn’t have one. Now that I have my own bank account, I made sure to delete my moms bank info and added mine. I then re-did the verification process and told support. Still they told me they needed my moms info. I asked why and they gave me the same exact response, no explanation whatsoever. Absolutely ridiculous. It’s as if I am talking to a bot. I had enough and told them I will be going to eBay to sell instead. Even with that I STILL GOT THE SAME RESPONSE. NO EXPLANATION AT ALL. You guys are the absolute worst. Congratulations you’ve lost a potential seller.

Trading system and Bugs. This app is great. I love using it and get on at least everyday. But I would want to recommend one thing; a trading system. I think that this could be done while you are creating a listing and you can choose if that listing is open for trade. When someone is viewing the listing similar to the button for purchase there could be an offer trade, same for in the messages within the offer button there should be a choice for trades but only being able to offer what you have on your listing. Shipping should be paid buy both traders. If this some sort of trading system would be implemented into the app that would be great. On another note, I have been experiencing many bugs while on this app. On my device I am a part of the beta software program for iOS which possibly may be the reasons for this issue. The issue is that I can not open any listings or open any of my own items I am selling. As I open the app everything refreshes fine but as soon as I press a listing or look at my sale items the app kind of freezes for a little but then doesn’t do anything. As I try to press around on another listing the images of the past listing I pressed on keeps coming up not allowing me to view listings I am interested in.

Only 1 Thing I Would Suggest!. Mercari is an easy app to use to find stuff you want or sell stuff you no longer use. I have had 0 problems throughout my time purchasing and selling items. The community of people on here are really nice! I do like the verification factors they take to make sure it’s not a scam page. I have seen multiple “too good to be true” pages and they are taken down instantly. If I were to have a bad experience it would not make me rate this app less than 5 stars because you’re always going to run into issues wherever you go. Mercari just minimizes it so the chances of you having a bad time is low. I find the shipping methods super simple and easy. I do free shipping on my shop and I love that Mercari can have sale prices on the carriers to make sure I don’t pay full price for the shipping, that way I can keep a good profit. The only thing I would want to see in the future is Dark Mode! Every app is beginning to include it and I feel Mercari having a Dark Mode would be amazing. Overall, the app is really great to shop and sell. My experience with communicating with people around the world has been great. Please just add Dark Mode!!!

Unsafe for new users against experienced users. If you have a new profile, sellers WILL take advantage of you and mercari will just point to their policy if you make a complaint that isn’t solvable through their customer guidelines. I’ll try to keep this concise but my first experience: I waited two weeks where a seller made various personal excuses why they haven’t shipped an item only for them to cancel last second wasting my time(lesson learned) They also get to do this to other people as I have no way to review them. Second experience: smooth transaction and delivery. Third experience: I bought two items from a seller. They sent both items separately with only ONE tracking number. Long story short I only got one of the items with no way to prove I didn’t receive the other. Three days had past since I received the first item so mercari could no longer help me according to their policy. I waited three days because I was ignorant and thought the second item would still be arriving and the seller told me they would contact mercari. Mercari completely allows the seller do this. Send multiple items separately with one tracking number. I don’t know what would have happened if I complained within the three day window. I would hope a full refund. I feel mercari could do more for inexperienced users therefore I don’t feel encouraged to use this app anymore even after learning what not to do and what to do on my own.

very trustworthy. they handle scammers very well.. as a big collector of littlest pet shops, i downloaded this app in search of some cheap *authentic* rare lps. i made many purchases with them and they were all smooth. Until one time this woman posted a picture that she stole from an lps instagram page and claimed it was hers and that she was selling that specific authentic lps for a really cheap price. i bought the lps, she told me it was authentic, i recieved it and was very disappointed to find it was not authentic. (authentic of this lps costs $50-$100, a fake costs about $2 off ebay. i payed $20 for the lps i bought from her, so it was a very good deal.) anyways i messaged the lady very nicely and told her that the lps was fake. she *flipped* out on me saying i was a scammer and i was somehow attempting to scam and take my money back without sending her "precious lps". so i filed a scam report with mercari explaining my situation and, rather quickly, a return was scheduled. the lady still was accusing me of scamming and kept saying that she would expose me rada rada, but after she recieved the lps i recieved all my money back, and everything went well. thanks mercari for carrying out these scammers very smoothly and effectively. i continue to use this app and their scam protection is way better than ebays.

Mercari is the best app for selling stuff.. The first time I went looking for an app to sell some used items, I downloaded OfferUp. It was fine, but was quickly replaced by LetGo. The interface was cleaner, and so was the influx of new users. I discovered Mercari shortly after, and was immediately impressed by the smooth transaction experience—everything must be shipped, but Mercari makes it easy. Ultimately, this is better for everyone in almost every circumstance. The higher cost associated with shipping an item filters out a lot of junk that nobody really wants, and attracts buyers who are legitimately interested in what the platform has to offer—instead of looking for a lazy way go garage sailing without leaving the house. Mercari’s built in offer-and-counter-offer system is a breeze to use, and the smart promote feature is a boon for getting your item seen by more people without having to delete and repost listings. It also gives you the power to offer discounts specifically to people who’ve liked your item. Mercari Rocks!. I love this buy/sell marketplace! You can search AND locate many HTF items at fabulous prices! This forum is pocketbook friendly!!! Additionally, you WILL discover other items of interest here as well! These are some additional facts which make Mercari exceptional: Their Customer Service is top rate! It’s very easy to contact these bright individuals! Communication is clear and informative. You can rest assured you’ll get a quick, fair and intelligent reply as to resolving any concerns a buyer or seller might encounter. Here’s another service they have recently implemented. Unfortunately, sellers from many websites across the board get away with advertising an item for sale which is no longer available. Meaning they’ve sold it somewhere else to an individual willing to pay more money than the listed price! Yet, they won’t admit this because....it’s wrong! So they string other buyers along until the waiting period expires, obligating management to deliver the disappointing news the order is cancelled! Thus the company loses credibility, customers and potential business due to these nefarious acts. Mercari has cracked down on unscrupulous sellers. Disciplinary action is taken in order to provide a safe and legal environment for EVERYONE! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Scammed on Mercari. The app works great, however, not good for purchasing items. I purchased a camera to watch my dog when I’m at work. When I received it, items were missing. I contacted seller who said she would send any missing parts. Thinking everything was ok, I went ahead with plans to leave for holidays. I had the understanding parts were on the way. I get back, seller did not send parts, she hadn’t contacted Mercari like sellers have always done when I’ve had a problem. Mercari went ahead and paid her, I was stuck with the sellers trash. The camera had no adapter or reset needle and sd card was missing. Mercari wouldn’t give me my money back or hold seller accountable. The seller sold many electronics and apparently switched parts around. After she seen she wasn’t being held accountable, she was like haha and never sent parts like a honest person. The sellers also rip you off and then block you so you can’t say anything. I had shopped there for years and spent hundreds of dollars, but deleted the app over camera. You don’t want to buy leggings which many fell apart after washing. Many seller list things as womens, after you get them you see they’re juniors. I’ve bought shoes that were glued, that fell apart after wearing a couple of times. You get shoes, they look ok, so you rate them, they fall apart and Mercari will not do anything because you already rated. I’ve bought more bad items than good. Not wasting my money on there anymore

Cancellations. Mercari is a very good platform to sell on. It’s not perfect, but with how much I’ve sold on it I can’t really argue with some of their shortcomings. However one problem that shouldn’t be ignored is cancellations. I have two examples of when these have messed with my account in bad ways. At one point I sold an item, had it packaged and ready to be shipped out. 15 minutes after the buyer made the purchase, they decided to cancel. This cost me money due to the packaging being ruined and my listing being deactivated and pushed to the bottom of the search results. Yesterday, I bought a big ticket item of over 220 dollars. I used a debit card for the purchase. Hours later the seller canceled the order, and causing the money to be stuck in review before it will make it back to me. I’ve known people who have had issues like this in the past. The only way I see that the problem can be fixed is if the person who make the cancellation, whether it be the buyer or seller, is for Mercari to charge them 5-10 percent of the purchase price and either give it to the person they screwed over, or just keep it for themselves. Also make this aware before a sale is made to deter people from doing this. I will be happy to change this review if something is done as almost every other thing about this app is great, thanks

Return. I received a product that was not authentic. Mercari asked me to take pictures of the authentic one and the fake one which I did. They reviewed my issue very promptly and helped me get my money back. It really makes me sad that we have to worry about things like this. But, we can’t fix it but please check your products for authenticity. I wish they could shut down, but I know they will just make up a different ad and hope people will not notice. The real problem is, what the heck are we putting next to our eye when it’s a fake product. Thankfully there are people who are aware of this and actually post what to look for fake products. Please take the time to read it and be aware of what you are purchasing. I don’t understand why people would even do that. Evidently they just don’t care. You can always put in a complaint ticket and mercari takes action immediately to resolve the problem. I’m grateful that they do recover your money for the price you paid, but then you have to find a legitimate one in the meantime. Nobody has time for that!! Thank you so much Mercari for taking care of fake products. And for making it right by giving your money back. BEWARE❣️❣️❣️

Like throwing money in the garbage. I used to really love this app as I have bought many things here for some good deals. I have come to the realization though that it is no longer worth it. There are many shady sellers who either don’t describe things carefully or even lie about the items they are selling, so you have to be really really careful who you purchase from! And even when you maybe find someone who was not honest about what they are selling, you cannot always return because it is up to Mercari and it is difficult to get returns approved. All in all just be super careful if you have to use this app because it’s just too risky! With the money you may end up saving on things, it just equals out when you get crappy items you can’t return! Or if you are really unlucky and it happens often, you’re better off throwing your money in the garbage. I would suggest only using this app for selling if you are not a big shopper and that is possible for you. I’ve decided it’s best to delete this app and will no longer recommend it to my friends like I used to, because it’s dangerous as are all of these selling apps! For shoppers the best bet is to only purchase items from eBay from sellers that allow returns.

Be wary!. The app is Ok. I don’t trust Mercari. I am rating their business model where something is shady. I bought a new expensive Breville machine that was about 50% off retail. I was very excited. The USPS tracking showed it delivered to my address but no package was delivered. I went to the local USPS and they tracked it down. USPS informed me that the packaged label was sent to a different address. I went to that address and knocked on their door. They said they didn’t see any package and knows nothing about Mercari. I contacted Mercari and they cancelled the order. As a policy, I was told not to contact the seller. I went to the order and I no longer can access it. At this point, I lost trust in Mercari so I called my credit card company to dispute the transaction and now Mercari has limited my account access. Unbelievable!!! Be very very wary of using this vendor. There is something fishy about their business practice. Mercari can’t even ship to the correct address? How in the order did they send a package to an address that is not a customer of theirs? They charged my account that means they have the money in their account. After I contacted Mercari, I could no longer access that order. When I dispute the transaction with my CC company, Mercari limited my access. Shady!! Shady! Shady! I have deleted their app and will not buy from them and will not recommend them at all to anyone. I have already warned my family and friends about this company.

I haven’t receive my item and the app shows as I did!. BE CAREFUL, IT JUST HAPPENED TO ME! I made a purchase several days ago and was checking to see when I was going to received when to my surprise the app show that I already receive the item the day before! I check the mail, talk to the seller and in her app it show the same! So we decided to contact Mercari. Unfortunately the answer was what worries me more because it made it clear that Jeremie didn’t really pay attention to my issue! He told me that was a “automated message”, I know what that look like and this was completely different, THE APP SHOW THAT I HAVE THE ITEM, THE STATUS IS “DELIVERED” AND IT’S AWAITING RATING! As everybody knows after 3 days they can release payment. So it could happened that they release the payment before you even have a chance not just to receive it, but to inspected and check that it is exactly what you paying for! What it worries me more it’s the dismissive and patronizing tone of the answer of the responsable parties, as I say before. So be careful! There is a lot of amazingly nice people out there, but there is also the ones that are waiting the chance to take advantage of every chance they get! OBVIOUSLY NOT GOING TO USE THIS APP ANYMORE AND DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO DO IT!

Pros outweigh Con. Makes it really easy to list, sell, and buy. The only issue I have with the app is the pay. Once the item is purchased, the item is shipped to buyer who checks out product and rates the seller via Mercari. Rating is when and how you get paid!! If buyer does not rate, after 3 days Mercari rates. (Mercari had the funds since the transaction took place but wont release til rating minus 10% fee) You do not receive funds until rating is complete.......and when i say receive funds, funds are added to your Mercari balance to purchase items on Mercari! Second option once you have a balance is transfer amount to your bank via EFT (Sunday was the cut off day....no matter what day, you get it sometime Monday thru Wednesday or even later) Anything over $10 is free to transfer but under $10 transfer is a $2 charge.....app has been updated to allow seller to cash out whenever. I have tested it out and the wait time is just as bad as before. I requested the money and didn't receive it til 5 days later. (My bank releases funds as soon as they are received unlike some banks that place holds on incoming money.) Mercari has pros and cons as with everything in life. In my case, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Great selling & buying platform!. Whether you’re looking to pad your pocket book, find a bargain, or a little (or a lot) of both, mercari is the place for you! I’ve sold many items on here & it’s so easy & you get your money quickly & without having to jump thru hoops to get it. Same goes for my buying experience. I’ve made many purchases on here as well & am able to find many items no longer in stores due to being sold out, discontinued, or out of my size, & for a much better deal than I could get at a retail store. I’ve had only 2 instances where I had any issue with an item purchased & mercari was very fast to refund my money & without hassle. I love them platform & can’t say enough good things about it. Also oddly enough, I’ve made some very amazing friendships on the platform! This is the last place I’d expect to form a friendship, non the less I’ve made some very dear friends on my journey with mercari & have no doubt they will be friendships I’ll come to cherish even years from now. To sum it up, if you haven’t downloaded the app......what are you waiting for?!?! Do it now, & start enjoying the many perks of being a mercari member! You won’t regret it!!

They locked me out of my account. I have been a seller with Mercari for about a full year now and have had accounts with them for about two years, and I have always had problems with them, but this is definitely the worst problem. They completely locked me out of my current selling account, and I have two orders that I have shipped out and are being delivered today and I am unable to access anything. It doesn’t help that I can’t even access my old email connected to this account, as I don’t remember the password used. I have already sold these items, and have sold items in the past with no problem. I quickly logged out to check my buying account, to see the delivery date on something, and then tried accessing my selling account and can’t get in now. I’ve done this multiple times so why is this now going on!? Now I can’t access any of my earnings, and have around $120 lying in my earnings that I can’t at least put into my bank account. I have been a great seller, and never once have been reported of a problem, and make sure I always extend wonderful customer service to all my buyers. This is awful seller service that Mercari is giving, and I am recommending new sellers to find another service to use. Mercari is awful towards its sellers, and doesnt care about you. Thanks to Mercari, I will now have trouble paying out my next months bills and have lost 120 dollars. Thanks Mercari, for being a terrible service.

MUST READ: How people steal from sellers: Terrible protection for sellers. It is extremely easy for a seller to get ripped off by a buyer with their return system, here’s an example: a baby bouncer has a music box that is detachable and reattach-able, the buyer decides they only need that part and not the rest of the bouncer. So they then open up a refund request & when Mercari asks for pictures, they post pictures of the baby bouncer with the music box detached and out of the pictures, so that it looks like the seller never sent it to begin with. Now imagine doing that to anything that has detachable parts, a game controller, a toy, an electronic game system, etc etc. imagine how easy it is to swindle mercari and keep that one part they want & send the seller back the rest of the item? Which will now be incomplete and probably unsellable...that’s what’s happening to me. And customer support? Crappy. They agree with almost every refund, and could care less if you ( the seller) are being stolen from by your buyer. Crappy app. Crappy support. I just use this to make some extra cash. I recommend recording packaging up your items so that way buyers can’t pull stupid crap like this. I would hate for anyone else to basically be stolen from.

Rating system skewed. I've been using Mercari for some time without issue. That is until I purchased a silver necklace from one of the vendors. Before I purchased, I asked if it was real silver. They responded that it was so I purchased. The necklace arrived and it was nice and shiny. I left a positive review that evening. I wore the necklace for three days when I noticed the color was dull. I took the necklace off and inspected it closer when I realized it was the silver plating coming off. I reached out to the vendor and received no response. I tried multiple times to no avail. So I reached out to Mercari customer service where I was basically told that because I had rated them, there was nothing they could do. I asked to have it elevated. I was not asking for a refund. I felt that my positive rating was helping a scammer to make additional sales. It was reviewed and I was told that a rating could only be changed to higher not lower and they apologized for my inconvenience. So my rating stayed positive for a company that lied about their product, stole my money, and Mercari is supporting that practice. I gave them 2 stars only because the service itself is better than Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace as they do not release the funds until the customer has rated. Unfortunately, it is a less than perfect business model as I have learned. Caveat Emptor.

This app has went downhill fast. I’ve been on Mercari for several years now and in the beginning it was great. Sellers were quick to respond and mail out packages. And shipping wasn’t that bad either. I enjoyed purchasing from Mercari. Over the last couple of years, the sellers have become less responsive and shipping has gotten more expensive. But more recently though, I’ve had more sellers cancel or not even respond to messages than I have been able to complete a purchase. Just since the end of January I have had 3 of my 5 purchases either get cancelled by the seller or I’ve cancelled because of no response from the seller. But what’s worse is the fact that Mercari is now holding my money hostage, claiming it could take up to 30 days for a refund! Why has this changed?! It used to be just a couple of days. Now it’s a month?! Out of my last 3 cancellations, I’ve been refunded for 1 item. And it was the cheapest of the 3. I cancelled all of them within a day of each other. This started of Feb 2nd. Each time I go to my cancellation messages, the ‘Refunded Date’ changes to whatever day it currently is. And is constantly updating to the current date so they don’t have to pay out until the 30 days is up. Tell me they aren’t holding my money to make more for themselves 😡 I have screenshots of this that I wish I could post. I’m done with Mercari. I’m pulling my listings and I won’t be using them again.

Great Site to sell.. I have a lot of great experience both buying and selling on this site. The website is very informative about the items being sold. They also give a buyer protection plan to prevent items from being sold that don’t meet the description of the seller. My only complaint is that even when you give an honest description, and you place a really reasonable price on a name brand product to avoid authenticity, because of the extra cost. Macari always sides with the buyer when they use this excuse for wanting to return. Coach will not authenticate any of their products and if A receipt is present from the purchase I feel the buyer should have to keep the purchased product. That’s why I have stopped selling on this site. I said no returns as is , placed at a really reasonable price. Sorry I just feel there are too many loopholes that give the buyer means of returning, even when they change their minds. They can use any of the other excuses to return. Other than that it’s a great way to buy and sell unneeded or unwanted merchandise. And a great place to purchase things you may need. The shipping is sometimes alittle high. It sometimes pays to buy from other sides that offer a smaller shipping rate.

Zero Stars. I’ve deleted this app from my phone. Mercari is nothing but a bunch of thieves and liars. Along with many of these users who try to scam you out of your hard earned money. Every time I see something I am interested in, I contact the buyer and guess what? It’s a scammer who is asking me on the other end to send them money via PayPal for shipping. Mercari can’t do anything about of course. Also when you do find a good seller, the poor people on the other end have to wait several days to get their hard earned money because Mercari won’t pay them until the item gets to me and gets verified that everything works. So in other words, they have no way to get a refund back from anyone. What a joke of a system. If I could rate them at ZERO STARS, I would. As a seller this application also is a bad one. I just sold a brand new item to a customer of which I paid out of my own hard earned money but Mercari kept my money for almost 2 weeks to include the 3 days the customer decided to keep his purchase and not rate me. That’s right, you heard it right… Mercari won’t pay you even though the package has been delivered and accepted. You have to wait. So in the mean time, your money is earning interest for free for someone else… what a ripoff. Also, someone rated me 3 stars by mistake. They contacted customer support and customer support told them we don’t fix ratings even though their website says they do. Mercari, what? ZERO STARS!

Very disappointed and frustrated.. I have been buying and selling on mercari for almost 7 years with over 1500 transactions and 5 stars. I have been verified for those 7 years I even sent in my ss and tax information just in case they needed it. About a week ago I look at the site cause I was about to ship some items and my account is completely frozen. I can’t message the people even!! They said I needed to be verified again so I upload my id and wrote them a message and didn’t get a response for over a day and they said that since my payment is third party I need to scan my fiancé’s ID I write back informing them it’s a joint account with proof that it is and still haven’t heard anything!! I’m scared to ship packages cause I can’t even take my money off the app!! Tried to find a phone number to call and all it says is it’s not active. I’m so frustrated and disappointed with this app. I have been a loyal customer and have even referred a lot to use the app and now I don’t know if I should have done that! I’ve been verified in more ways then most people and having my account frozen is actually hurting my family and clearly they do not care. I will probably find a different platform to sell cause this experience has been horrible. Also customer service is nonexistent if there is an emergency you are on your own.

New Favorite Shopping App. This app is everything that eBay used to be. Rarely any Chinese sellers with cheap goods have infiltrated, I rarely use eBay anymore because this app is just so much better. You know an application is good when a real person goes out of their way to leave a good review. All the mechanics are so useful: being able to be notified when items that you really want are put up, The message center being easy to use and much better than the weird eBay emailing type thing, and it just generally being an easier to use and enjoyable application. I window shop for hours on this site, and that’s far I have bought probably about 25 things and sold 2 through this app and I haven’t gotten burnt yet. Fingers crossed. my brother uses this application multiple times a week as he is a vintage a game collector. It is seriously one of my favorite applications that I’ve ever signed up for. Im a simp for Mercari. I only hope that one thing will be changed in the future, and that is I wish we could send a Photos through the message app. It would be much easier to message a seller about bundling items if you could just provide screenshots of the listings. Thats is my only complaint!

More options for reporting. i love this app and it’s been a great alternative for buying high end products at discounted prices, but i don’t like that there’s no option to report a listing for inflation. so many times a day i scroll through my feed and people are trying to sell items for double or triple what they’re listed at on the original wesbite/store they bought it from. and a lot of people trying to sell things that were clearly a free sample to them. i’ve even seen listings for stuff from the dollar tree that they have priced at $10+. i just don’t think it’s fair to the people who are unaware that they’re being scammed, and it should be an option to report for that reason. that’s if they even do anything when listings are reported because my very first experience with this app was with a lady who sold me a wallet, ignored my messages for 6 whole days, then canceled my order and re-listed the wallet at double the price it was listed at when she accepted my offer. i reported it and chose all the options it gave me because she had violated basically every seller rule. nothing ever happened and her account remains active. so is anything ever done when people/listings are reported?

My experience with Mercari Customer service has always been positive.. With the exception of a few rare decent Sellers who I’ve encountered on Mercari, or eBay, and/or Poshmark, etc.,., ...I’ve lost almost all trust in the reliability and integrity, dependability in Mercari Sellers - as well as eBay, Poshmark, etc.,. It’s only because of the positive, successful experiences I’ve had in dealing with Mercari customer service representatives who have always displayed the same consistent respectful, considerate, successful and reliable results, and always in a timely manner that I continue to utilize any online shopping app. I’ve not had a situation yet where mercari customers service representatives didn’t work speedily to successfully remedy the problems I’ve encountered from having dealt with dishonest, inconsiderate, unreliable, and inconsiderate Sellers. I have found Mercari customer service representatives to be reliable and understanding and persistently successful — that they continue to provide me with the sense of security needed for me to continue online shopping with a sense of ease. And, I sincerely thank you for that because reliability and consideration these days are rare commodities, God knows. Be blessed always in The Holy Name of The Lord and Savior Christ Jesus, amen.

Kinks need to be worked out. Started using this app. The good - Easy to use and I think they charge a reasonable fee. The bad - If you have a problem they are not responsive. They will reply to your inquiry but not attempt to resolve the issue in any way. Example - I purchased an item from a seller. After many days I sent a nice email asking if they’d please mail the item. Several days more I’m informed the seller cancelled the sale due to “defective item”. No communication to me from the seller. I wanted to leave a bad review but “unless the sale is completed you cannot leave a review.” Now a week later the seller has relisted the item at a higher price - it’s obviously not defective so I again reached out to Mercari to ask them what actions they would take against the seller or if they’d allow me to leave a negative review. They told me to report the seller to which I explained that was what my email was intended to do. The seller intentionally blocked me before canceling the sale so that I couldn’t report her through their regular channels. The seller has a five star rating but obviously does not deserve that. I think the customer service should not allow them to resell an item at a higher price when they canceled such item from a completed sale. And they certainly shouldn’t allow them to continue to have a five star rating. Someone else said this is a common occurrence. Maybe my relationship with Mercari will be short-lived.

Terrible customer support!!!. Omg!!! Who in the hell runs this app???!!! Why is it impossible for me to talk to anyone human???!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. First of all, I love the way things sell on Mercari; however, when you have a problem (because you will) no one is there to help you with it. There is no live support or human representatives to talk to to fix issues you are forced to figure it out on your own. Secondly, why in the hell should sellers have to wait 3 days for a buyer to rate them to get paid???!!! This is insane- the buyer gets to do whatever they want with your merchandise and you have to wait until they feel like rating so you can get what’s rightfully yours???!!! I just don’t understand where that makes sense. If you say something in the messages that allegedly violates policy Mercari quickly responds to the message and immediately erases it- but if you try to call they hang up in your face... this company must be run by monkeys. The app overall is a good app but the customer service is invisible and it’s impossible to be a good company without good customer service. Why can’t I talk to someone Mercari??? Is this site owned and operated by one individual??? As many fees as you guys take out you should at least provide adequate support. Please fix this issue or I’ll just have to use other avenues to sell my items.

Terrible app that doesn’t protect buyers. I was hospitalized for about three weeks I want to buy a bundle from Marc that’s said 37 perfumes and I only received 36. I was rushed my Mercari to rate the items. My neighbor took the package in for me however due to the two strokes that I suffered it was hard to communicate with anyone about the purchase. I never thought to ask my neighbor to count how many perfumes altogether was sent. Because I was rushed by Mercari to rate the seller I did because it stated some sort of negative action would be taken on my account if I didn’t rate within three days. I got out of the hospital three days after I had already rated. I sent all hospital documents showing I was in the hospital at the time and never got the chance to count how many perfumes were sent. I spent over $100 for that bundle with missing item. I contacted Mercari and explained my situation with proof of my hospital stay and discharge date. It didn’t matter to Mercari and after spending close to $1000 in total for many purchases they have absolutely no honor system set to protect buyers so I closed my account and Mercari will not be getting anymore of my business. They list a good customer. Marc is a complete AH for having missing item. Mercari are total D!cks for not understanding a situation that was completely out of my control. They can take they coupons and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. No more of my money…. Nope never again 👎🏾

Best selling App by far. This is the smoothest and most effective app for you to sell and buy stuff at. I have used counterparts such as EBay, Poshmark, Facebook, ThredUp, Wish, Etsy and whatnot and I can reassure you that nothing come close to it. This is the perfect example of late market entrant advantage wherein they have learned their competitors game and proposed a solution that fixes all the headaches. The app is simplistic, clean, fun and user-friendly. In addition to that, the customer representatives are really accessible, intelligible, lucid, resourceful and extremely fair when it comes to dispute resolution. Believe me, once you start using this, you will hit yourself in the head “why didn’t I know better till now”. I rarely post any reviews but we MUST give flowers when the work is done appropriately: accessibility, fairness, visibility, transparency, payment system, fees, messaging and everything you could think of. Usually, apps of that kind lack one or two of those attributes; but Mercari nailed it all. This is the alternative we’ve been wanting all along. Thank you to all you people working at Mercari—your work is so valuable, stay true to yourself and the high standards you’ve set forth!

If you’re going to buy anything make sure you read the sale description and sellers reviews first.. I wanted to buy a 86 pack of fleet nba cards. The title of the ad was 86-87 fleer nba pack possible rookie card. The guy had around 4 stars and about 80 reviews so I figured it would be safe to order. I wanted to pack to open myself and possibly get a hit but after purchasing, I decided to read the description. The description says that he opens the packs of cards and choses what cards to give you. I know it was dumb to not read that before purchasing but then I went on to read the reviews and many other people complained about the same thing saying the got random cards in the mail that weren’t even from the 86-87 era and that the guy was very misleading with his advertising. I tried to cancel the order immediately after and the app said if he doesn’t respond to the cancellation inquiry but the 22nd (the next day) that the order would be automatically cancelled. So I went on at around 1 am to see if the order was automatically cancelled but it wasn’t. When I woke up later in the day I checked and it said that the order was shipped. I looked at more reviews and it said that the guy wouldn’t ship it for days and would just mark it as shipped so he could keep your money and that he wouldn’t respond to any messages. Do not use this app to buy and if you’re going to make sure you are very cautious about what seller you use.

Rating system needs work, shipped to wrong address. First purchase was shipped to the wrong address, the shipping label is automatically generated by Mercari and for some reason it was sent to my gym instead of my home address. Thankfully my gym held it for me at the desk. No explanation, my address is correct in system from my end etc. When you sell something, the buyer has three days rate and review, if they do at all, if they don’t finish their rating, you get 5 stars automatically. Then you must rate and review them to get paid. This wouldn’t be that big of a deal except you don’t get paid until you both rate/review, so you could be waiting up to 3 extra days AND you can’t see their rating or review until you rate them……the rating for buyers is also insufficient. How can I leave an honest review of them if I don’t know what they wrote about my service or product. For example, if it’s a terrible and unfair review or they claim untrue things, which did happen to me, and there’s no way to contact them unless they contact you. Mercari support is a type of email within the app……no resolution. Just a “we’re sorry you feel that way, “we’re gutted to hear you’re not fully satisfied” but no recourse, no way to resolve the issue just that their policy is what it is, we’re working on. Don’t even bother. I thought this app was amazing, a great way to make some extra cash off stuff you just had laying around and in the back of your closet. I ended up making about $350 in a matter of a month or so. So I thought it was great until I recieve a message about my account being closed because I am under 18. I am 17 and 8 months and in order to collect my sales I had to verify my ID. So I did so using my drivers license. When I get the notification that my account has been closed it says to contact them when I am of age. And that I will have to wait to receive my $90 remaining in my account. This is complete BS. It pretty sure if I can legally operate a vehicle that I should be able to sell a shirt for $5 online. Bottom line is that I will NOT be redownloading this app or reccomending it to anybody, Infact I will be doing the opposite and warning people of the scammous nature of this app. It is legal for a 15 year old to work and a 7 year old to sell lemonade as well as send mail so tell me, why in the world can a person who is 3 months away from being 18 and moving out to live on their own to sell clothes for tag sale prices online to make themselves extra money??? This app is ridiculous, find a different way to sell because this is not an ethical way not to mention they take 10% of your proceeds. Rip off and scam. I also think it is very scary that they terminate my account AFTER they get my debit card on file.

Great but sellers need to be held more accountable!. I like this app, it’s great for finding collectables fro pretty good prices compare to EBAY. It’s also fairly easy to sell on here although I rarely use that part of the app. Lately, I’ve been trying to purchase stuff just to end up cancelling my orders due to sellers lack of communication & lack of shipping. I wish they would let us rate those viewers or show on the sellers page that they have a lot of cancelling due to not shipping. I do realize I should’ve checked harder but when a seller has 4 1/2 stars I’m not looking too much harder. But when I checked one seller I saw that that the past month sales have all been cancel and at that point they should have a temporary ban or hold on the account! Why are they allow to continue posting items just to never answer or ship? I noticed it’s usually when items are heavily discounted that I never get them shipped. Maybe they just didn’t wanna sell it at that low discount price? Either way, I want to see a badge or disclaimer when a seller has a lot of recent cancellations. Otherwise this app has been good, but this recent streak of cancellations I’ve taken a break from the app. Note I’m not taking a break from buying collectables I just moving my money to different apps for the time being.

Forces you to give them ID. For my second purchase ever on this app, I tried to purchase a 1TB PS4 for $200, which I considered to be a very good price. About an hour after placing the order, I got a notification that my order had been cancelled and that my account had been temporarily suspended. I was really worried about the PlayStation4 being sold in the meantime, so I quickly contacted their customer service chat asking why in the world this had happened. I was informed, several hours later, that I needed to follow their steps to verify my identity, which I found a bit odd considering I had done all of the steps except giving them a picture of my ID which I didn’t want to do and which they stated was optional. I clicked on the new alert, which interestingly only appeared after I contacted customer service and not when my account was flagged, to see that they indeed wanted me to give them a picture of my ID. I texted the customer service chat again and had to wait hours again. During this second waiting period, the PS4 that I had ordered in the first place was sold. I was informed that I *had* to give them a picture of my ID in order to continue using my account. Frankly, I’m mad that my order was cancelled in the first place, I’m mad that it took them so long to respond that the item was sold in the meantime, and I’m mad that they’re trying to force me to give them my ID. I will not be continuing my use of this service.

Former mercari lover. I used to love mercari. It was easy to use. I agree with other reviews that the rules were and have always been suffocating, but I made do. I used this app for years making good amounts of money and recommended it to everyone. It was almost like a 2nd job for me. Then they changed.. and in more ways than 1. Mercari used to give you your full credit of sales. If I sold something for the minimum price that they offer of $3, I got all of that $3. But then they turned into every other second hand selling company.. they began to take your profits. So if I made a $3 sale, I then made $2.70. Yes, only a couple of cents loss, but when you’re selling in the mass amounts I was it added up quick! Mercari was officially no different than any other app or company out there where you sold your items. I got it though. They need their cut too. I got over it. Then they began to complicate things beyond belief. You used to be able to comment on post, now you can only private messege them. Comments were so much better. You could see past questions other interested buyers asked and the answers. You could see pat offers made. Mercari continually changed and “updated” their app consistently making it more and more complicate. It gets to the point now where I end up cancelling most of my sales because it’s not even worth it anymore. I wish they would go back.

Hear me out, and please explain Mercari. I downloaded this app about a week ago and its seemed amazing and all the deals were great and I was very happy with the way everything was laid out and how I was buying directly from people, BUT I’ve encountered issues that confuse me very much. #1 I was trying to buy an item and the buyer said “just kidding” and cancelled the order, why is that allowed? (I received my money back) #2 I was attempting to buy another item and I paid for it, and the seller shipped the item but out of nowhere Mercari THEMSELVES cancelled the order and refunded the money *no reason was given* and then I got another notification that my, and I quote, “account was cancelled” for some reason about the app not serving “US Territories” WHAT. #3 I sold an item to someone in Florida and the item went through and everything was fine but now that my account has been “cancelled” HOW AM I GOING TO GET MY PAYMENT!?!?!? This whole situation seems off and annoying because very little explanation is given for any action taken. #4 There is no way to directly contact anyone at Mercari. Any time you go to the ‘Help’ section they only give you FAQ instead of something helpful!! I need to know what is going on with my account and how I am going to get my payment and why I can’t use the app anymore. Everything just seems sketchy and need a response for why this is going on. I would greatly appreciate an explanation from Mercari.

Deactivating listings for no reason?. Got a notification today saying that a few of my “old” listings were being deactivated because they were “inactive” and that I should take a moment to review them so that I don’t miss out on sales. They send me a list of 20+ listings that THEY deactivated on my behalf, without my permission. One in particular that I posted only a month ago was deactivated, yet older listings beyond that one were still kept active! Also a listing was deactivated that had been recently getting likes, and I even promoted it to likers just this morning (before Mercari decided to deactivate it). This could’ve potentially made me miss out on a sale, had I not reactivated it after seeing this stupid notification. So I’d like to know how that listing could possibly be considered “inactive” when it’s getting likes and being promoted? If this is going to be continuously happening with my listings, then I may just not use this app to sell anymore. If you can tell that I am ACTIVELY using the app, my listings are getting likes, and I’m obviously keeping track of my own stuff... then LET ME MAINTAIN MY LISTINGS ON MY OWN. This isn’t my first rodeo, I can handle it without your intervention. Oh and I tried reaching out to customer service before leaving a review but after going through the different tiers to “contact us” I eventually landed on a “Sorry, page not found” error. You should probably fix that.
