This is great but.... So this game is great, but I would love a few adjustments. For one, STOP ALL THE ADS. There are just way too many ads and it’s infuriating. Other than that, it’s pretty good. I originally played this on the X Box 360 and I loved that you could get different houses and that you would get different decorations for certain achievements and things completed. And a bright side is it would not change the gameplay, so if anyone liked it the way is was, no worries. But most of all I would greatly enjoy if you added a sandbox. You would have unlimited sun and would be able to pick the zombies as they come. I know this would be a big change and a lot of work, but just in case one of you read this and agree, I would be very happy with this game. Thank you for you time, money, and hard work. EA ruined this game with ads. When I was younger, this was by far my favorite game to play. I would constantly try and beat the next level, but I could never defeat the final boss at the end. I was excited when I saw it optimized for the new phones so I could finally beat the game without my fathers help, but now I’m incredibly disappointed. Both before and after every level, I have been forced to watch a 30 second ad that cannot be skipped. It happens whenever you switch menus or do really anything in the game, which makes it infuriating to play. The game also freezes a ton during each round, which causes you to restart the game and watch another ad upon re-entry, even making you lose all progress. On top of that, everything is nearly impossible to do without spending money for the mini games which is disheartening. Those used to be a ton of fun to play, but now I can only play one and then have to grind 2 more hours to do even one more. I loved this game when I was younger, but now it is almost impossible to play which makes me feel awful. Why did EA do anything to this game? It was perfect before, but now it’s only a money grab.

Nice!. Ok, let’s get to the point. I love the game. But seriously the ads. If you could just get a paid version of the game, I would rather get it than turn on airplane mode. I love the app though. Suggestion: have a “restart flag” button in survival. I find it highly annoying having to restart an entire survival when I pick the wrong plant. Also, I really hate that you have to grind forever to just literally get 50,000 coins. I love the Zen Garden as well. It feels awesome just getting coins from watering a marigold. Ok, now that I’ve discussed that, I’m going to ask for some new plants once and a while. I don’t think EA taking over is bad, because you have to have ads or a paid game or you won’t earn any cash from making it. But in pvz2 it’s way worse. So stop complaining people. To sum up, PvZ is an awesome game. I also love crazy Dave and his rap. Parko Out!

This is a god like classical. It was made quite long ago yet it holds up to this day as a game that is well represented and fun this game can be played offline I think which is even better it is the perfect thing for car rides or plane flights you can play for a little or you can play for a long time and it will be fun throughout. The graphics are amazing and haven’t aged at all and it’s not like it to good graphics but it is just appealing to the eye how it looks. I remember playing this game as a kid and having a blast and I’m playing it again right now and it is still perfect. This game needs more popularity as it is a masterpiece forged by the host of coders designers and script writers. This game we always bring me great joy and I am so happy I can still play. Thank you the creators!

WAS my fav game but they changed & terrible glitch. I loved this game so much, it brought me back to my childhood when I used to play on Xbox with my siblings. I’ve had this app for quite awhile and on different iPhones I’ve had! However I had finally gotten far and had lots of money, plants, etc. and the app crashed and I lost everything. It made me start from the beginning. I tried turning off my phone, exiting the app, but still nothing I didn’t regain any of my hard work that took me time. This was my favorite game but it made me so frustrated that I sadly deleted it. Also, the ads on this is just ridiculous… every time you go into a mini game that you’ve purchased with coins, or your garden, or puzzles, or the shop, you have to watch a freaking ad!! It was so annoying. You couldn’t do anything without watching a 30 sec ad first. I remember a time when you only watched an ad if you wanted extra coins, if you wanted a rake, if you wanted planting tools instead of buying… so basically only when you clicked on it! Not ALL the time. So lame. Only giving a 3 star bc I love this game otherwise all of the reasons above would’ve been 1 star.

Why I love this game (Plants Vs Zombies) SO much!. I love this game because of it’s simplicity, how anyone can beat the game even if they’re not the best, and I was born the same year it released which makes me like the game even more! I love how even though the game is old and simplistic, it’s still really good compared to the games that we have today. And I haven’t even mentioned the music! The music is AWESOME! I sometimes will listen to the music while I do my homework or when I’m gaming. Another reason I love the game is because you can play anytime, anywhere! I’ll play the game while camping or when there’s nothing really to do. Anyways, there’s a lot of reasons why I love this game and so who ever coded this game, you sure knew what you where doing. Keep up the good work, I can’t wait for the next PvZ game to release but until then, I’ll keep play PvZ 1. -Gabriel

There’s no way past level 5. It’s impossible to get passed level 5 on Night, You don’t have unlimited lawn mowers, so you have to continue watching ads after ads, Then when you’re out, You’re out you lose, Play it again the same thing happens, Also when you use a cherry bomb after you kill a zombie with a lawn mover and they drop sun points, You place it down and it only has like, 2 Tiles down and 1 tile over, Like 2 Y and 1 X So what about the other two or three lanes? It also takes about a minute for that thing to be ready to use again, This is super unfair, They just want you to keep on playing ads, When there’s no possible way to beat it, This game was fun a few years back when I downloaded it on my laptop, I beat it and decided to play it again on my IPhone, I noticed it changed a lot, And so has the levels, Please make Level 5 Night at least possible

PvZ changes?. I used to play Plants Vs. Zombies a few years back. I remember having fun, however I deleted the game somewhere along the way and reinstalled it recently. The home menu is an alright change but I personally prefer the original. May be nostalgia speaking however I played it on the DSi and on an old iPod and preferred those versions as there are a few prevalent changes I have come across so far. The shop doesn’t sell any upgraded versions of the plants you can purchase with coins to make a plant perform better. I haven’t beaten the game yet but as I see so far they’re non existent. They were pretty cool so I’m sad to see them go. The coffee bean is completely gone, taking away much of the challenge of the night time levels, back when I first played, most plants would fall asleep since they relied on the sun to stay awake, however now they’re always awake, even at night. For example, the sunflower being awake would be it sleeping at night when I first played. This takes away much of the challenge and I feel as if it is much more enjoyable with that inclusion. This affects the mushroom plants quite a bit as well since with no coffee bean, they’re essentially useless without the beans to wake them up during the day which could have helped you get some use out of them during the day but can now only stand around and look pretty. Bring back the coffee bean I beg of you!

Such a Memorable Classic!. Everybody knows this classic series, and even though it’s currently broad (until PVZ3 gets released), the first game is WAY more fun than it looks. The reason it’s so popular with beginners and professionals is because the game is easy to play, but hard to master. Even after you complete Adventure Mode (1 & 2), There’s still so much to do, especially mini games! My favorite is I, Zombie, where you take control of the zombies and play from their perspective. My only criticism to the game is the micro transactions. I mean, I get it, EA now owns PopCap (cry about it), and EA is infamous for their sextillion micro transactions. But, once you take away the micro transactions, PVZ becomes a fun game! As soon as it becomes repetitive, the game hits you with a game changing plant or zombie, like the menacing, 3 feet tall Gargantuar, or the strong Doom-Shroom! Overall, this game used to be perfect before EA came to the scene, however, it’s still fun! If you haven’t played this game yet (Like, seriously? Been living under a rock) PLAY IT, it’s a must-play!

PvZ iPhone is a good game. But Let’s avoiding the zen garden and portal combat.. Why? Because these 2 are gonna crash the game and it’s gonna start from the beginning or the game keeps crashing or it freezes the game. So Do NOT go to zen garden and portal combat because it will crash the game. So what I’m going to do is what i need to get some coins is go to level 5-10 to keep replay it, But what I can do is I’m going to play some survival mode is what i need is to get loads of marigold and some gold magnets so I can start farming coins so it gonna take a while. Now I have a lot of coins I can now buy packs of minigames, puzzle games and also wooden hammers for endless. And one more thing buy ads remove in the shop so you don’t want to see it all in game. And That is how to farm coins in PvZ iPhone! But always remember Do NOT go to zen garden and portal combat cause it will crash! Thank you! 👍

Fix update!....AGAIN. UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: The game has been glitching the last few days. As I have beaten the game well over 100 times and gotten all but one or two achievements, I typically only get on to play mini games. I was in the middle of playing level 3-5 when the game kept freezing up when I tried to get anything that required watching a video. So I logged off and back on several times. After the last time, my entire game was reset, completely wiped out my progress, FOR THE THIRD TIME. My game started over as if I had never played the game before. I am so annoyed!! Never have I played a game before that the developers think it is ok to reset all progress, MULTIPLE TIMES!! I LOVED this game for a very long time, but now it’s just irritating! I will not be starting over again. I will just finally delete the app, unfortunately, and that makes me very sad to say. The update wiped out my Zen Garden but gave me money for it so no big deal, although I don't need the money and used some to buy back my gardens but my survival mode is locked even though I have ALL of my trophies and most of my achievements!!! Please UNLOCK SURVIVAL MODE!!!! The extras are the only reason I play anymore since I have beaten the game MULTIPLE times!!!!

Amazing Game, EA ruined it. Plants vs Zombies has always been a staple of what a good mobile game is. It is extremely fun to play with an adventure/levels mode, as well as numerous other fun mini games. But now the game that was with me all my life is changed. I got a new Apple ID and got the game again but it’s different from how it once was. EA has made it so that at the begging of every level, you have a rake in the middle of the screen, and to get it you have to watch an add. You used to buy these things with easy to get in game money(no real money spent) but now there’s a focus on watching adds. As well as these optional items, in order to play the game you sometimes need to watch adds. In order to play a bonus game you HAVE TO WATCH AN ADD. Even the adventure part of the game is filled with adds. The final straw for me writing this review was when after completing an adventure level an add popped up. In summary PvZ is an amazing game, but it was much better when although the game cost money, there were NO ADDS. DOWN WITH EA

PvZ is great but ads are really annoying and other things. PvZ is really great! But there is always a bunch of ads and I always need to put it on airplane mode or when I go out with no service I play it. And the achievements are really hard and what’s the point of achievements if there is no reward and the achievements are only good for flexing how good you are in the game and there should be an reward for completing a achievement like coins and that would maybe make more people play the game for achievements and stuff. Other than all of that the game is great but there hasn’t been updates ever since the new PvZ games and I really want some more updates on this game like update the achievements and give the achievements a reason to be there like coins or gems for some new items other than that I give the game 3 stars please make the game a whole lot better.

The game deleted itself. This game was my childhood. I redownloaded a few weeks ago, and for starters, the ads are really annoying. Often, they make the game crash and I have to go back into it. But most games use ads and I like the game enough that I can easily look past that. But today I went into the game, and all my progress was lost. No zen garden, no mini games, level one of adventure mode and no achievements. For context, I have bought a handful of the mini games, the puzzles, have gotten a lot of the achievements, was a few levels away from completing adventure mode the second time, and my zen garden was thriving. It’s a great game, but I’m beyond frustrated right now. Hours and hours of progress thrown away. I don’t want to replay all the easy levels all over again. It takes too long. So I guess this is the universe’s way of telling me to leave my childhood game behind, because I don’t want to waste more time on progress I will apparently lose.

Cult classic gone under. While gameplay wise the game is amazing and always will be, it’s one of the single greatest mobile games ever made. Unfortunately there is a massive issue, the game, in my experience almost never launches properly, I’ve only been able to get it to launch properly one time In the past week. Every other time the app instantly crashes and sends you back to the Home Screen. I’ve seen a few forum posts about this issue one on apple says to contact the creators but I’ve searched and I’ve not been able to come up with anything conclusive all I know is a few years back an IOS update caused it to stop working, I can’t find a solution or even a concrete reason as to why this is. Beyond that these forum posts are a few years old and the fact that the game is being updated but this issue hasn’t been solved is mind blowing to me, maybe it is a rare issue, there is so little information on this I can’t even confirm or deny that. Is there any possibility of this game being fixed for IOS?

Paid to remove ads, still unplayable. I paid a few months ago to remove ads. That worked for about a week. Now I’m back to having so many ads that game is almost unplayable. There are ads between every round, ads before and after every bonus game, ads when I visit my zen garden, etc. I spend more time stuck in ads than playing. I’ve contacted EA three separate times (before the lockdown) about it. First time they never responded. Second time they told me it was third party apps playing the ads (lie) and that I need to track down the app and delete it. So apparently according to EA, the inability to restore your purchase of no ads isn’t their fault (it just hangs on connecting to server when you click restore) it’s some invisible third party that they’re not responsible for and that only affects their game and no others. Third time, a response to their third party app theory, got no response. I know it’s only 3 bucks, but how many people are they ripping off? Reinstalling the game doesn’t fix it.

Isn’t this illegal or something?. I have literally purchased this game more times than I remember, in many different forms. I know I originally bought this app on my iPod when I was younger so that’s at least ONE time I’ve paid $0.99. I’ve had it on my DS, my Xbox, etc, not that it matters. And I’ve purchased coins from the shop a few times over the years as well—specifically through iTunes. So what the hell is going on when suddenly it’s a free to download app that refuses to restore all my purchases and forces me to watch adds? I literally own this game and it was taken away from me by an update?? I guess it’s my fault for getting a new phone huh? Honestly this is really scummy. At least let people restore their purchases. This new update only allows the “get rid of ads” purchase to be restored, and I believe any purchase used to do that but I could be mistaken. Even so, for somebody who originally paid for the app and has since made in-app purchases, all on the same iTunes account over many years, it’s disappointing for me to see my favorite mobile game get squeezed for cash like this. 😔 SEGA did this with Sonic as well so you’re not the only ones stealing products back from the consumers I guess

TOO MANY ADS. I get you made the game free now and there WAS a paid version. But now the full game is free and filled with ads. Want rakes? Well instead of buying them like you used to now you watch an ad, random mini games in the start menu I guess is ok but it’s not the original. This game has changed too much with ads and content we never asked for. We never asked for rakes with ads, we never asked for overpowered plants removing all difficult zombies with just one ad, no one asked for a random mini game at the start menu, most currency packs are the same price to get the same amount of coins and it’d be great if either we had an option to remove ads with a purchase or if this just wasn’t the full game and the full game (costing money) didn’t have ads. But the point of this is to voice my opinion on the game. I hate why all challenge is removed from the game just by watching ads, I hate why ads are completely taking over the game, I hate some menu changes.

Problem. Straight to the point...I love PvZ (Though the first person BS needs a break) I have supported PVZ for years and I was so excited by the new update with penny and opened the app...where was it? I thought maybe I need to unlock it? I went to worlds...no...shop?nope...I pressed learn more and it said once you get 15 plants it’s unlocked...I’m way past 15 plants...were is it? I closed the app fully and re-opened and still couldn’t find it I looked more in the shop and then the app crashed, I thought maybe the app realized something wasn’t right...nope just crashed...please fix it I really want to participate Ps. I also for some reason can’t make a new account and I accidentally deleted my old account when I wanted to re-name it and I couldn’t get it back so maybe add a warning before you erase your progress? Pps. I bought the Apple motor and I don’t have many other plants other than the gem premiums and I wanted to level it up because Apple motor was my favorite plant...and every time I bough a premium piñata I got random premium plants I don’t own so I was wondering if you could make it so it’s more common to get seeds for plants you ACTUALLY OWN?

fun, but laggy.. i really love this game, as i have since it first came out when i was a kid. this was the first game i ever beat and it holds a lot of meaning to me because of that! it’s so much fun to play both casually and as a time killer when i have nothing else to do. however, once i got around Level 5 in the Day time (which is the first round of levels, out of 5), the game became very laggy, like the game was too overloaded. i thought uninstalling and redownloading the game would help, and it did until i got back to the same area where it first started lagging, where it started lagging again. im not sure if this is just an issue with my device as my partner doesn’t have the same issue, or if it’s something in the game, but it still had a noticeable affect on my gameplay experience. otherwise, 5/5 stars!! classic and nostalgic, wouldn’t change a thing :)

Why all the ads?. So... This used to be my favorite game for a REALLY long time, like, ever since I found out it existed anytime someone would say “What’s your favorite game?” I would say “PvZ.” A few years ago, I got into anime. Then, about mid last year, I started playing Project SEKAI Colorful Stage, and I think that’s my favorite game now. Maybe this game would still be my favorite if it didn’t have SO. MANY. ADS! It’s only on TV shows where a character will be watching TV and see something that they’re interested in buying. I don’t think anyone in the real world is playing a video game with ads so often, and see something they are interested in getting. I’m pretty sure nobody even watches the ads in a game like this because there are so many ads. I’m actually used to a lot of ads, but it gets really annoying when there are constant things you have to buy with in game cash, and then it says “Would you like to spend a measly $70 for cash?” Uh, no. Because if you play for about an hour straight, you could probably get it easily. This review makes it sound like I’m a whiny baby, but I’m not trying to be. Anyway, I still love the gameplay, the art, and all. This game might not be my favorite anymore, but its definitely still up there. Remember, the world is what you make it! Bye!

+Fun, +Time Burner, -Ads, -Glitches. I would have given five stars, because this game is amazing. It helps me “tame” my ADHD & it satisfies my OCD without fail every time. HOWEVER when I first played the game, there were no ads. Next thing I knew, there were ads every five freaking seconds. Any time I tapped on anything, there was an ad. Most of which, I couldn’t even skip. And then the glitches. The first glitch made it so I couldn’t play my favorite mini game, survival, I had to figure out a way to fix it which ultimately led to me having to restart some of my progress. AND THEN a little while after this, I was playing the game and it deleted ALL of my progress. I love this game & would love to replay it. But under MY circumstances. I had so much stuff. I’m so mad. To end this on a lighter note, if the game makers see this somehow and want tips on adding to the game, I would suggest making an endless survival out of all of the places. So the grass, night time, roof, so on and so forth. Or even making a new place! That would be cool. Anyway I don’t hate this game. I just hate the fact that the glitches literally ruined everything.

It’s PvZ…What else is there to say?. We already know PvZ is a great game, and I’m glad that it was immortalized in a mobile format. I appreciate the fact that it is not locked behind an abundance of paywalls and special features (though there are quite a few items obtained via ads). That brings me to my next point. The ads. Despite what other people are saying, they really aren’t that bad. People are just ranting about because it’s the ONLY issue. I understand these games need ads to be free-to-play, and I’m perfectly fine with watching a few. However, it would be nice if they were cut a bit shorter. They take about 30 seconds to click through, and can start to wear away your temper after 5 or so levels. I can’t really be down on this game though, since most mobile games do pretty much the same thing. I’m just glad the original PvZ is still the same fantastic tower defense game it was almost 15 years ago. For those of you who read to the end, You’re CRAAAZYYY!!!

A fallen masterpiece.. PvZ is an insanely great game, and EA just ruined it. I get trying to monetize this game because it’s a legend, but getting an ad for exiting the Zen garden? An ad after Every level? It’s super excessive. The main thing that drags this game down is how much EA tried to monetize this game. You get so many ads it’s just half the game. If you accidentally tap the exit garden button in the Zen Garden you are more than likely to get an ad. If you are playing survival you get an ad after EVERY FLAG. Another thing about survival mode, if you get a high-score of 10 or higher in survival: endless, the game crashes when you try to play endless again. The game will also crash randomly, which is a massive pain. On top of half of the game being terrible mobile ads, you can also randomly crash. A terrible combination of things in a game. The only reason I even play is just to take care of my Zen Garden. The coin grind is relentless and takes dedication, but there isn’t much dedication to watch ads. If you want to play this game, go on the computer. No ads, no crashes, it’s just a much better experience. The only reason it got one star is because if the gameplay.

The game got EA’d, what a shame. PvZ, at its core, was a wonderful experience. If you’re playing this in 2020, I assume you know what the gameplay is. Compared to PvZ2, The adventure mode is streamlined and encourages using a variety of plants in each world, the bonus games are fun, and Zen Garden is a relaxing and simple collectathon if that strikes your fancy. Those are the things it does right. However, going back to play this game now (which I had purchased before it was F2P), the staggering amount of ads they’ve implemented make this a headache to play through. Forced ads before AND after levels, ads to play bonus games, ads to supplement the pathetic amount of coins you get when you used to be able to comfortably buy everything just playing the game. And to top it all off, it’s clear the game wasn’t originally designed for ads and they are poorly integrated, since very frequently the level will crash after serving you up the pre-level ad which forces an app restart and watching an ad once more. I understand making it F2P is appealing, but anyone who had purchased the game previously should automatically have the ad-free option unlocked. This wasn’t done, hence my low score. Play something else.

Like it but I have a thing to say about number 2. I just want to say great game but I might as well not make two separate reviews so I love p vs z 1! The second one however ITS SO HARD like why just why? Would u do this to a p vs z game. I understand they wanted to make it more challenging but, u my dude have just gone over board don’t get me wrong other Than that it’s a great game. BUT WAIT, why the heck u got to pay for CHOMPERS? TORCHWOOD as well so many questions about why and 5 dollars as well for a plant ?!?! Like I know I should’ve put this on the 2nd one but why would I do that because I would just get to trash those things MORE. I hope they read this but I’d they do the developer response (if they do even respond) will be like “thank u for ur suggestions we will improve” just saying Actually IMPROVE but anyway thanks for reading this (if anybody actually does)

Love the game but don’t like how it’s been changed. First off, the actual gameplay of PvZ is awesome. It is very simple; defend your brains from the zombies by using a variety of weaponized plants. The creativity in this game is great from the different plants to the unique zombies, and having to continually adapt to the variety of different challenges keeps the gameplay fun and interesting. The problem, though, is the quantity of ads. I have no problems with having a few ads here and there in a FREE game, but there is an ad before and after every level as well as every time you go back to the home screen. This makes playing the game more tedious than it needs to be because of how many breaks there are in playing the actual game and navigating through the menus. Again, I have no problems having an ad every so often, but when you are spending more time watching ads more than playing the game, there is a problem that needs to be fixed. In addition, there are glitches in the game that cause the app to crash. So far, the only glitch I have seen is in the endless survival game mode. After reaching ten flags, the app crashed, I have not been able to continue in the game mode since. I also read other reviews where the game crashed while doing similar things like entering the shop or doing a challenge. To wrap up, the game itself is awesome however the amount of ads and the glitches are some serious problems that need to be fixed. I hope EA reads this.

Some bugs. I have played Plant versus Zombies for many years. When I tried downloaded it to this phone, I had to once again Purchase the “no commercials “ which is fine. It is not a lot and e1 needs to make money. I am experiencing 2 problems with the program on this phone and cannot seem to figure out how to get help. First, I purchased the power up for sunflowers but do Znot have access to it and when I go back to the shop, it says it is out of stock which usually means I have already purchased it. So ehere is it? Second thing, when I exit Zombies my phone refused to go hack to vertical mode. I have to either turn the phone off or occasionally I can open a different app although that doesn’t always work. Still a great game but I would like to know how to fix these bugs. Thanks.

Great game, only one problem.. I’ve been playing PvZ for years now and it’s always so relaxing. All of the plants are very creative along with the variations of zombies. I also think the descriptions in the almanac are very funny and always make me laugh. And while the game is relaxing, I find it challenging too,- the roof level is very hard for me and it took a while to complete. What I am saying is that is a great game, and you can bet I will continue to play it for a long time. However, there was but one problem i have had while playing. Whenever I shop at Crazy Dave’s, and then exit, the game immediately kicks me out. It is only a minor detail and doesn’t really bother me at all, but I am simply trying to help this game become bug-free and enjoyable to all. Again, I really enjoy this game, and give an applause to the creator, popcap.😁👍👌🤟

Love This Game But The Ads Are Crazy(Bug). I love this game, it’s simple and fun and it’s not pay to play. It use to be my favorite game but the ads have gotten RIDICULOUS. There are constantly ads interrupting game play. It makes me never want to download those games in the ads because I associate them with annoyance and frustration. Not to mention there is a huge bug in the game because I paid to have the ads removed and it no longer is working, so I tried to pay again and it says you already bought this, do you want to restore it?…and when I push yes restore, a glitch just puts a loading screen for like one second then it never restores and I’m officially stuck with ads because I can’t even buy removal a second time and the game doesn’t register that I previously bought it. This is a big problem and if it were resolved I’d give it 5 stars.

What’s the sound issue??!. I love this game. I’ve deleted and restarted it probably once every year since it came out. It’s just that good but two issues have popped up since then. 1)the ads! Why did the developer(s) decide to add these annoying things? The only time there used to be ads is if you chose a rake to kill the first zombie at the beginning of the game. Ofc you can turn on airplane mode but then you may miss important notifications from friends and loved ones. 2) why the heck does the sound randomly cut out in the middle of the game??! After about thirty minutes of play. The sound just unexpectedly stops. No zombie growls, no plant attacks, no music—just randomly. This didn’t used to be an issue at all. Like I said in the beginning, I’ve been playing this game almost since it came out. I’m old as dirt so that’s saying a lot. I love this game but the sound issue really needs to be fixed. I play this game for the zombie growls, music and plant attacks, not just the graphics. If just the sound issue gets fixed, I will give the game 5 stars but the ads going away would definitely be a plus too.

Good, but could use some work. I enjoy the game very much, but it’s not nearly as fun as it was 3-4 years ago The zombies should do more or atleast feel like they more damage every level so if a normal zombie does 3 damage at level 4 it should do 3.5 or 4 damage level 5 as well as the plants costing more al little for another example on level 3 a pea shooter costs 100 on level 5 or 6 it should cost a little more like 105 or 110 see what I mean it would make it harder because right now with a easy to master sunflower farm making sun pretty much infinite so hard to run out and lawn mowers and plants that can 1 shot any zombie meaning you could just spawn them when a high health zombie comes and with its short respawn time you could spam them if you have an efficient sunflower farm which is easy to make. I understand you may think that the game will be be to challenging for kids, but if you look back at the old Mario games they were hard very hard and the kids adapted to them calling them easy. It just strengthened their gaming skills, but you can have a better explain system or tutorial if you want take care.

WAS a good game. This was a good game when it came out, but then EA games bought it and added a price tag to every in-game feature that used to be free. Now there are advertisements between every level screen, you have to pay to unlock new game modes, and you can’t complete the game and less you have enough coins to buy the necessary upgrades. The Zen garden feature is still there, but you have to buy coins to get more plants. The tree of wisdom feature has been completely removed along with any other feature that awards lots of free coins. To buy coins you need spend real money. Furthermore, if you ever purchased the full version this game like me, but then later deleted it from your phone to save space, re-downloading it will not unlock the full game. You still have to spend real money on coins to unlock most of the features of the game. Also that cute little song at the end after you beat the game has been completely removed. EA bought it and the greedy little pricks ruined the game, like they do with every game they buy.

Extremely well made game. I love nearly everything about this game. In my opinion it is one of the best games on the appstore and I’ll explain why. The game is completely and utterly unique in theme, planting plants to defend your house from incoming zombies. Now that’s already a great game that you could play for a pretty long time, but eventually you’d get bored of it. They knew this and added plenty of mini games for you to entertain yourself with and it gives the game much more longevity. Also all the levels are not too hard but easy enough that you don’t have to redo them millions of times. I love crazy Dave, I think he is a hilarious character but that’s not the only reason I think he’s great. Other games will have characters who are entertaining like him but most of those are mono dimensional, and they don’t really effect the plot. Yet Crazy Dave is intertwined perfectly. He is your guide for the basics of lawn safety via plants. I think the art design is really good, it’s not too extremely realistic, but it’s not too cartoony either. I love the soundtrack it fits the game really well, it really captures the essence of the game. I love all the little things you can do around the menus as well. I love the entire currency system, unlike many other games it only has one currency. I like that you purchase everything you need from the back of crazy Dave’s van and I like the zen garden concept as well. That’s why I think this is one of the best games on the appstore.

PvZ is awesome!!!. Now this game is the best game for all ages because it starts out nice and easy for beginners and the new update allows more detailed practice for starter players. This game has everything you want to do and it is very long! The only thing that I would like to see added is a co-op mode and a vs mode with a friend or with the computer. Other than that this game is the best for all players. If you don’t know what this game is than download it right now and play and play it! I hope that it keeps getting updated for more stuff to do. The new modes that I said about would make the game never ending and more fun! As always download this game now you will have fun with it! Trust me. I am still playing this game today on adventure 2 day 8. I love survival endless it is a good way to get coins faster. One thing that doesn’t work for me is the cob cannons explosions. I doesn’t blow up the zombies for me. But to end this download this now it’s a good game to do if your bored! This game is great and keep updating it please! 100/1 rating!

PvZ Gone Down Hill. Originally bought the game back in 2012. Every few years I like to go back and play the game. I recently started playing again. I re-downloaded the app to see they did some updates with the interface. Nice. My one biggest pet peeve is that the game is now laden with adds and annoying suggestions to watch videos for a stupid item or upgrade. Is this what the game industry has come to? After every level you beat there is a stupid ad. What prompted me to write this review is that I just beat a level that I was working on for a good 20min and then had to watch an ad(ok, normal), then once the ad started, an “x” to close the ad that normally appears after about 8-10secs never appeared. I then went , “fine I’ll just open up the ad to see if this gets it going”. Nothing. Ok. So I then close PvZ then re-open it only to find out it didn’t save because of a stupid ad that glitched and forced me to exit out, close the app, then re-open it. Cmon PvZ team. Your game rivaled Angry Birds years ago. One of the top mobile games. Now you guys are pumping low-tier crap. The stuff you are doing is what sketchy rip off mobile games do.

This game is great! (Might be scary to younger children). Okay so the first time I played this, it was on my grandma’s iPad. I loved it. (My parents didn’t really approve, but I didn’t care and neither did my grandma) so I was pretty decent at this, beat all the levels. Now I’m sitting here playing it, and it’s totally addicting years later. I prefer this one to the second one, mostly because the game mechanics seem simpler to me I guess. I just realized that this was the first review I’ve ever written for a game 🤔. So this pretty much had no purpose, I just wanted to let y’all know that this game is great! I mean, for some younger kids, it might be a bit scary... but if you think they can handle it, go ahead and get it for them! Seriously, great game. Can be played online and offline, with WiFi or without it. So it’s great for road trips, being on a plane, in a dead zone, pretty much anywhere your device won’t be harmed. I have no problem with this whatsoever, just wanted to let you guys know what a great game this is! 👍

Listen I love PvZ with a passion, but this game is a trick. Have you fine people wondered why this game doesn’t capture the same nostalgia as the PvZ you once knew and loved? Check the publisher. That’s not our beloved Popcap making old moves. That’s EA getting their hands somewhere it doesn’t belong again. This game doesn’t feel like the old one because it’s not. I’m sorry EA I love you and I love the Sims, but you’ve once again stuck your grubby little hands where they don’t belong. I was only able to figure this out because when I noticed this app was free and there was no 99¢ option I looked in my recent purchases and there it was. The exact same game (we all know not exact but you get what I’m saying) same plants, same zombies, different publisher. I didn’t think anyone could screw up a game already published so badly, but are you folks really so strapped for cash you have to not only put ads before each level, but also offer unremovable ad options for items that no player should be using because it’s absolutely immersion breaking and just in general not fun like the exploding walnut and extra lawn mowers? I’m willing to bet I could play a whole game without planting a single plant, and for that you break my heart.

Great game until EA ruined it.. Ads after every level. Ads play when you click buttons disguised as sun. Crappy microtransactions everywhere. Took a peek at the internals of the game, theres a Facebook worm built in. There’s also Vungle worms as well. I recommend looking them up, they’re in just about every game with ads. These worms track everything from your IP, phone number, playing habits, and other forms of data to build a profile on you. These companies then sell your data as per the terms of service you agree to when booting up the app for the first time. They also use it to track you across different apps and psychologically tailor ads to manipulate you further. Why should I have to deal with this crap after I bought the game so many years ago? I own it. I don’t want this free to play bundled with spyware and ads sack of crap. Ffs just let me play the game I paid for. This is not PvZ. This is EA doing what it does best. Ruining a perfectly good game for profit. I used to love this game. It’s sad that I won’t be able to fully experience that nostalgia simply because of a greedy publisher. I recommend against playing this game in its current state.

All for money.... There are so many ads now in PvZ it actually hurts me to play sometimes. I have to turn on airplane mode so I don’t receive an ad each time I complete a level or go to the main menu. They are quite annoying especially since playing before this time there was zero ads. Why did EA have to change this?? Leave the old game to slowly sputter out they literally had to change nothing and the game would still be perfect but they had to go and add so many ads into it. Not only that but a large thing that makes me mad is the fact that marigolds are sold in the shop for $5000 (previously $2500). This is a terrible price when you think about it because of these reasons. The marigold when finally grown to an adult size you get $1000 (one diamond) and can only be sold for $3000 and also in the intermediate levels of growth you get less than $500. This was the whole idea of the marigolds so that players can make a profit but instead you are losing money from buying these. There utterly is no point to them and should be reverted to their previous price of $2500 to “reward us nicely” as Crazy Dave says. I am putting this review as 1 Star because EA and popcap took a great game and made it just annoying. Hopefully this being 1 Star someone might see it but I highly doubt any change will be made. Formerly Amazing. Loved this game from day one. Then EA bought it and turned it into a joke. For several years they completely ignored it. To the point where it would no longer play on newer iPhones. I deleted it and recently remembered it so I downloaded it again. I was optimistically thinking they had made improvements. WRONG. WHAT. A. JOKE. First of all, they didn’t even optimize it for larger phone screens so it looks RIDICULOUSLY stretched out. Paula Abdul’s “Promise of a New Day” video anyone? Now the whole appearance of the game looks like some bootlegged Canal Street game. You can see evidence of this on the game’s start up screen. The original size ratio shows up briefly before it’s S T R E T C H E D horizontally to laughable levels. Did EA put money into bettering the game? Nope. Did they add more interesting levels? Nope. Did they do ANYTHING new to the game? Nope. Oops, sorry. I was wrong. They DID put up approximately 10K paywalls around anything they could get their hands on. Such a joke. The fact that a gaming company would put their name on something like this shows how little integrity they actually have. Especially since they’ve done nothing but ruin the original title. So lame. SO SO lame. 😒

Absolutely amazing. Played through it 5 times The PVZ series is so far the absolute best of best games or rather best game of all time anyways keeping short and simple The game is good so far through the 5 times I played only but I’ve encountered is where crazy Dave speaks and dialogue keeps speaking tbh this is just funny bc you just keep hearing ‘jakajallnskendnsnskkwkkqkwkdkdns’ in the back The animations are simple and easy too keep up with The game is slow and CAN be fast paced but this is only sometimes Game is very casual and doesn’t have that lives system where ‘you have 0 lives come back in 12 hours to get 1 EXTRA! Life’ this is game in general the music and everything about it is amazing if you don’t like it then you are a soulless creature and don’t have the right to review back to previous mentions the series is awesome GW1, GW2, battle for neighborville,PVZ hero’s and Ect. The series make such an easy way to notice little details such as mentioning PVZ 1 or 2 references I remeber in GW2 Zomboss mentions something in PVZ 1 I forgot it went something like “Dave! your meatloaf is cold!” I think this is a reference to night pool w/ Fog and stage 9 it’s all somehow connected in one place and all of these details make me wanna find more Thanks for Popcap to make this game I don’t know what game would be my favorite without this game! ADS ADS ADS!!!!. When I played this game a decade ago as a kid, I didn’t remember this many ads. This game is FILLED with ads. Sometimes two 30 second ads back to back! (Once when you receive a new plant and once before you select which plants to use.) the ads also take you directly to the App Store without even clicking on the ads, so you have to manually go back to the game by leaving the App Store and opening PVZ again. Sometimes, the ads break the game after you watch them and you have to close out of PVZ and re open it again, only to watch, you guessed it, more ads. Untimely, the ads are EXCESSIVE. It really takes away from the magic i remember as a kid. Onto a different point, the game is far too easy. Through the entire game, I never lost (exept for the final boss). The lawn mowers take away from the purpose of the game and make it really really easy. Even if they get through you have another chance. I had to challenge myself and not buy the roof lawn mowers or the pool lawn mowers to make this game is even remotely hard.

Great, but with small bug. PVZ is probably one of the best no-wifi, free-to-play games ever. You can never really beat the game, which makes it interesting even after you beat adventure mode. There is one bug, though. Im not sure if it was from the most recent update, but cob cannon AoE (area of effect) is messed up. When the target is thrown on the specified spot, only the zombies in front are damaged. The explosion only seems to hurt zombies between 3 tiles left of the target and on top of the target. This isnt a big problem in adventure mode, but is extremely annoying in last stand and survival endless, where a lot of plants are up front and can be destroyed without cob cannon backup. Im pretty sure this isnt only on the new iPhones; it happens on other devices too. All these years later, PVZ is still awesome, and I hope that the bug can be fixed soon!

Ads get annoying. Fun game overall.. I bought this game many years ago. Back when it was being sold for a few bucks. Didn’t have ads or anything since you paid for the full game. I ended up switching e-mail and I lost access to the account. I redownloaded the game a few weeks ago and I’ve been playing since. I get an Ad before I start a level. And then one after the level is complete. I get the owner of the app is trying to make money, but at least lower the frequency. I’m fully aware that you can pay to remove ads. Which I consider here and there. But I just end up playing the game on airplane mode so I don’t get ads. The game itself is simple. Fun. Takes a bit to save up gold coins to buy other mini games. The whole point of grinding a game so that’s not an issue. And of course you can always pay to have gold if you’re desperate for it. Fun game to kill time, easy to understand.

I love this game. This is great. Honestly. I don’t write reviews usually/at all but I had to for this. The graphics are amazing. I see no bugs so far but sometimes my loading screen freezes up and it takes a little long to load. But it seems pretty smooth. The plants and the zombies look really like the first game on the DS. I have been playing Plants vs Zombies for a long time. It was on my DS when I was young and I couldn’t bear to get rid of it or even delete the data to give away. So when I got my 3DS, I still played it on that. It reminds me so much of that, that I am surprised, shocked even at how it’s making my memories come back to me. I am so addicted. I cannot stop playing this game. Home. School. Out with friends. This is quite short but you have done a great job. I really hope you add more to this game. But keep it like the original PVZ one, I love love love this. Thank you for making such a good game!

Declined Over Time. Just redownloaded this classic. I was surprised to see how much worse this has gotten. The biggest problem is obviously the ads. They pop up after a level, guaranteed, and sometimes even BEFORE the level as well. Honestly it’s pretty sad how much this game has gone down in value. Sometimes, if you get an ad before a level, it can glitch the app and force you to start again. This can even happen after the level and can reset your progress completely on that level. I won’t go into detail about all of the other minor changes, but just to sum things up, if you’re here for nostalgia, turn back. Also, if you have in app purchases that you’ve made, don’t expect to get your money back. Apparently EA is just going to keep it. Honestly, PVZ is an ok game now, a shadow of what it used to be on mobile. I can really only recommend playing if you’re playing it casually. EA needs to improve. This feels like an ad-ridden shady mobile game. Get it together, EA.

Sold out. It feels like plants versus zombies sold out. I used to love the watch a video function with plant vs zombies to get free things like extra chocolate to keep the snail awake and a free rake to kill one zombie. Now they just put a video every time you exit a level or start a level or pauses to play one in the middle of a level. Taken alongside how glitchy it is now it becomes very frustrating. It constantly kicks me out during an ad or after one plays and I have to start my level over again. They also “streamlined” things so you could easily play any level you wanted. The problem with this is that it doesn’t go from one level to the next automatically and there is no option to move on from one level straight to the next. It gives going through the game after you beat it a disappointing feel. There just isn’t any flow. It also feels like a cheap button smasher game now, I feel like they made everything much easier to make it almost hard to lose which makes it too easy. They have sold out to become one of those games I would download and okay for a week before becoming bored with it and deleting a week later.

Best app in the known universe. This game is the best you could possibly get to a masterpiece the game is great and there is a surprise at the end (no spoilers ) if you want to see it you must play the game and once you Finnish the main game there is a second adventure then if you beat that there are still mini games and coins to grind to grow a tree and much more But I do recommend turning the WiFi off unless you want to watch ads to get FREE stuff So let’s say you played the game (of corse you have) and you think “this game wants me to watch ads and buy in-game currency and all that” but you have to realize this is a mobile game and it is perfect for taking a few minutes wile killing time Summery I really recommend it and if you don’t like it sure it’s free pvz is my childhood in a nutshell

Wasted time and a dollar on a bugged out game. I beat the game and began to work at the survival section of the game in more ways to play. Beat the first level without any bugs or glitches occurring and decided to spend a dollar on coins for future levels went on the second level which is night I believe I had hit a certain flag when I decided to exit out of said level and continue my progress another time due to the saving mechanic the game has set place. I then was unable to continue said level without the game crashing therefore unable to play any future survival level or endless due to it being locked behind the survival night lvl which is now glitched for me forever I decided I had enough and deleted the app thinking the game would save my data due to it being connected through Game Center big mistake I redownloaded the app only to find my progress is deleted and my coins of which I spent for in game plants were wasted due to the game starting from the beginning so now I burned a dollar and have to restart my entire game thanks Ea

Soundtrack?. I loved playing this game as a child and I still do play it from time to time. It will always have a special place in my heart. The game is great overall and I wouldn’t change much with it. However I do want to point out that I keep having this random soundtrack play whenever I load the game. Now I know what you might be thinking, that’s normal music id part of the game. NOT WHEN THE MUSIC HAS RANDOM LYRICS SAYING KILL BLOODSHED or FROZEN ZOMBIE over and over again. Not only is this complete random and kills the mood, but is it really appropriate? Seriously what has happened to this game, it’s like they tried to appeal to a wider older audience, why it was perfect as it was. Please get rid of the unnecessary soundtrack.

New update a shambles. Latest update deletes all your progress and zen garden plants?! I also paid for this game several times over the years in the iOs store but still get ads in this new version? And worst of all you deleted the quick play option for a clunky menu where the writing is too small. This was my favourite game before, now I hate it! Why redesign something people are happy with for the worse? The update is just to gouge more money from loyal fans who supported this game for years by putting more ads. Such a disappointment, Electronic Arts is an absolutely unscrupulous company who would willingly destroy a beloved old game just to gouge a few more dollars.

A great game. Although this game is very simple it is anything fun boring there is never never a time where I was bored playing this game it has a sustained flow of new things and a decent level of suspense I also like the idea of a story like this when one side is losing something else comes out to counter it A very smart concept another great thing about this game is that it’s simple for any gamer to understand I highly recommend you give this game a try

Purchases Don’t Register Properly + No Purchase Support + No Purchase Backups. The game itself works as it always has, but the purchase system leaves a LOT to be desired. I used to play this game on a previous device, and am unable to restore real money purchases. I was fine with this, however, in trying to purchase new items, it simply takes money out of my account and does not give me the purchase. There is no way to contact any support about this issue, so I do NOT recommend buying coins in this game, as the purchase system is extremely broken.

Please add the 10 slots upgrade.. It would make a lot of the postgame more fun and it would put phone users on the same level as PC users. All it would take is for each slot to shrink a very little amount for a tenth slot to fit on the screen, not making the slots too small to tap accurately. Please read this EA, as this may be one of the few improvements you could make to help fix this beloved game.

Latest update loses content. I’m deeply offended by the latest update to the game. I’ve finished all the levels a long time ago and could replay any level I wanted, and now with the update, all the levels are locked as if I haven’t played them. Worst of all, my son’s favourite levels were the special games like whack a zombie or bowling, which we had unlocked. With the latest update, it looks like these are only available as a purchase. Greedy! I was hoping after so many years, an iCloud backup would have made it onto the feature list, so that I can migrate the game to a new device. Alas, that’s not that there. Oh, of course, that feature won’t make you more money, will it?

Sooooo amazing!!!. PvZ is one of the only games that’s fun for all ages you don’t grow out of it and it’s absolutely amazing how all the plants and zombie designs are made. I loved being able to unlock a new plant or zombie and read its background in the almanac, it was one of my favourite things to do.

Classic fun!. Played this several years ago on PC, recently felt like playing again and PC's broken so went and got mobile version. Only downside is the lack of the best credits song ever, loved singing along to Zombie On Your Lawn whenever I beat the PC version. Bit disappointed it's not on here as far as I can tell.

Loveable classic that’s impossible to play. Nothing wrong with the game. Never has been never will be. It’s great fun, when you manage to get to a level. But the ADS. It’s stupidly impossible to enjoy the game without the ads. Not only are they frequent and LONG, some ads either plain crash the game, or when you click the x they open the App Store and takes multiple tries to get out of the ad. I re-downloaded to have some fun with the game as I’ve always found it fun but you guys have just plain ruined the game. “You can pay to remove ads” that’s not helpful because that’s just a cash grabber move and if we all paid to get rid of ads in all the games we play the game may as well not be a free to play game and may as well just make us pay for the game. Yes you need to run ads but not so frequently that it makes it not fun and sometimes crash the game.

Update the version. I love this game and play it nearly everyday. I was so disappointed to find out that it didn’t have the same updated version of the game on pc. This was a huge letdown, and I really hope that you guys update this version so it’s the same on pc and iOS. I love this game, and I would really love to see this change. Thanks

Why do they have to ruin things.. I decided to re install this game because I was feeling nostalgic, it’s started so well then all of a sudden when I start my first level I get an add. But it’s okay I can accept one ad, I finish the first level bam another ad, okay it’s getting a little annoying so I’m waiting for the ad to finish, guess what no x button to get out of ad. So I close app restart turns out the first level didn’t count as finished, so I do it again, starts with an ad and the level finishes with an ad and guess what happens with the second ad. No x button again I close the app and start again to give it one last chance boom did it again, why for you ruin it all.

Audio issues. I only play this game instead of the HD version on iOS because the HD version no longer receives updates; I only started playing this game again recently as I played the true original Plants Vs Zombies game over a decade ago before EA bought PopCap and I felt like experiencing it all once again (to a certain extent). Gameplay is good and I don’t have any major complaints. However, I’m having one issue in particular; the audio. The music and most sound effects work completely fine, including planting plants, using the shovel on plants, plants shooting, zombies being hit, etc. However, a majority of the audio gets cut, glitches out or simply just doesn’t play outright. This includes the audio that plays when the “A huge wave of zombies is approaching” and “Final Wave” messages appear on screen, the rain during level 10 of Fog, using some items in Zen Garden, etc. I’ve tried troubleshooting this problem but nothing I have done has been successful. From memory, almost all forms of bugs never occurred in the HD version which in itself no longer receives updates, which is pretty ironic. I still give this game 5 stars because it’s a phenomenal game. I hope the audio bugs I’ve been getting go into consideration and are patched.

BEST MOBILE GAME EVER!!!. You must get this game! I believe that it’s the best mobile game ever. It has many levels it’s fun and engaging and every time you open the app you can play a bonus game. This game also has mini games. You can play without wifi and there isn’t many adds. 100% recommend! ❤️❤️❤️

Watch videos for more content. I purchased the game a while back and have recently started replaying the game due to a factory rest of my phone. Now I have to watch ads for more content. During the game there is tabs for bombs and such but requires watching ads to get. I also turned of promotions in the settings, still occurs. Please take this away. There is a reason I purchased the game, to avoid this kind of advertisement. The game is fair enough without the need to entice people with extras behind an advertising wall.

Amazing game, but a big problem.. I just downloaded the game as I wanted to replay the game again but for some reason none of the audio will play through my phones speakers. I had the phone volume turned up, the game volume was turned up, but there was no audio. It’s a real shame as I and many others love the PVZ soundtrack...

Annoying music. Constant annoying music being playing on and off in the background, can’t here the normal music and I can’t turn it down or off in the setting without turning my phone settings off completely. Please look into this as my kid like to play with the sfx but not overly loud noise over top of it.

Crashes March 3rd 2020. I tried opening the app today and it keeps crashing, it won’t even get through the loading screen. It worked fine yesterday. I use an iPhone 6S. Will change rating back to five stars once this is fixed.

The old ones.. You may have seen me write a lot of good reviews, but this one.. IT IS SO GOOD. It has nostalgia to the old PvZ computer version. It’s polished easy to use. And It just is fun to play. This game i wont get into too much detail on history but but the creator, PopCap was bought by Electronic Arts (EA), In 2009and if you know EA you know them for Microtransactions, Microtransactions and Microtransactions. But all that stuff is PvZ2, Let’s focus on the beginnings. PvZ is a Tower Defense game with an interesting new mechanic. The Lane Mechanic, it spiced up the game to be more fun than other TD games like Bloons TD and inspired more games to have the lane mechanic. I’ve beaten the Boss AKA: Doctor Edward Zomboss around 11 times now, and each time the boss has been EPIC It’s not very hard but it is FUN. This game is PACKED with content like most games in the PvZ Franchise. Which has had me have so much fun for my ongoing holiday that’s already lasted 2 months. Speechless. This is theft. This used to be my favourite game on iPhone so it’s quite something for me to give it a one star. They took a game that I paid money for, stripped it of its playability and shoved in cheap pay to play elements and unskippable adverts. This game model infuriates me at the best of times and I will always choose to pay more upfront to avoid freemium model games. The fact that I paid money and had my game taken away from me and replaced with this garbage, and the fact that we’re supposed to just sit here as if we haven’t been robbed is disgusting. EA should seriously not be allowed to get away with this.

Haven’t felt nostalgia harder then now. I always played PvZ at home on the computer for hours and loving it, the game has almost been completely perfected in every aspect possible, the only problem is the main menu and how it doesn’t look like the pc version but this mobile and you do what you need to do to port a pc game onto a mobile device, never felt more like a 6 year old then now

Really ?. Why am I starting on day ? I was on pool level some day then I finished the sixth level and bam I was back on day level one! Can someone please tell me why you restart every once in a while? I was thinking if it’s a bug so I tried again but then it happened the next month! Ad free??????. I bought the ad free pack but the game remains unchanged. ‘Get bejeweled, get this, play that’ that is advertisement and to my knowledge illegal as money has been removed from my account but ads still remain, Videos only play if I voluntarily choose to play them but that being an option is enough to taint the feeling of the game. If there is a simple setting I must choose by all means tell me but that fact that when I click ‘remove ads’ which then follows with a banner saying ‘you have purchased the ad free pack’ or some bs, seems to me that something on your end is either not working or you’re total scumbags. Sorry this was full of such hate but I’m quite annoyed and already assuming you’ll reply with something condescending and entirely pointless. Please prove my assumptions incorrect.

Wabby Wabbo. This game is so great and the only mobile game that I want to 100%. I would give this six stars if it was possible and if they’re were less ads. The only reason I’m mad at the amount of ads is that ads mute the music. Also it has Crazetopher David Blazely the third.

Random Bug. I love this game so much. I have been playing it especially when I was younger. However, there’s apparently an annoying bug that has been going on. Some fellow players have been hearing this weird, out of place music during their play through. There is no way to turn this off and pretty much ruins the vibe. Please fix your game! 🥺🥺🙏🙏

what the ?!? just happened. Plants vs Zombies is probably my all time fav game. I have completed the entire game long ago, then suddenly the other week it reset itself (like a new install and i had to start from the beginning all over again!). I didn't worry too much about it and enjoyed playing it again all over (including the fog levels which i despise). Then once I completed the adventure mode YET AGAIN. It resets again. Please fix this bug. And so many Ads. I paid for this app, it wasn't free. Yet I get two 30 second ads before any game. The combination of these two facts are making an excellent game almost unplayable.

Great game bad ads. This game used to be 100% free, now you have to sit through minute long (or longer) ads between every new page. One of my favourite games but I don’t want to play because of this. Maybe if there was more restrictions on ads so they can’t have more than 30 seconds of screen time or something.

Can’t save progress in survival endless. So I was playing survival endless and I got to round 25 playing it for 3-4 hours. I saved my progress and went to sleep. I woke up today and watered my plants which I got from zombies in survival endless but when I press the survival endless button, my lawn is completely empty. No melons, no pumpkins, no sunflowers, nothing. Then I see the main zombies appear. The normal, cone head and bucket head meaning that it restarted my progress even though I never told it to. I just find it annoying that if you basically just close the app then you will loose progress in endless and probably other modes too. I don’t know if popcap still owns this game or if EA have taken over and filled it will ads but can you just fix this. It’s really annoying.

Ads free purchase doesn’t work. Love the game and everything works smoothly but the ads are so excessive — there’s more ads than gameplay (you can’t click on anything without triggering an ad). So I purchased the ad free package which worked for about a week, now I’m being drowned in ads again. I tried to uninstall the game and reinstall to see if that would fix the glitch but it ended up removing all of my progress and had to start from scratch… You’d think the progress it would be saved in your iCloud like with other apps. Reached out to EA support for help on this but still haven’t heard anything back.

AMAZING. It is so fun there are so many different things to get to in the game so many levels it is SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO FUN!!!! And the people who made the game are AMAZING! Why Plants vs Zombis is amazing. I started playing this when I was a little kid in primary school, I instantly fell in love with the zen garden and all the plants. This game is very diverse and has many ways to play, it’s rewarding , well balanced and well structured so that u won’t play the same game over and over again. Great game, but there is an issue.... This is an awesome game that I've played since I was 5, and it’s really not the kind of game you grow out of. There is many fun and challenging levels that makes you think carefully about your plant selection. Great game overall and I would rate 5 stars but there is an issue. In survival endless, it seems like I can only play the mode once, and the second time I log in to continue from where I left off, the game just crashes after a few seconds. If you can fix this issue, would definitely give this 5 stars. Highly recommended.

Great Game, save glitches. Great game nice gameplay overall, but seriously EA, cut the ads, will you? And also I noticed my progress weren’t being saved on my survival endless runs, once I pressed pause, leave game, left PVZ and got back on, all my progress was gone on survival endless. This has happened to me countless of times over and over, so it’s starting to get annoying spending my time constructing a really good load out then losing it all for nothing. Really hope you fix this major flaw in this game, cause being stuck in the stupid quarantine, this my only source of entertainment. Thanks.

Bug Issues. Music appears to be broken and does not play. Sometimes a random song that is definitely not a part of the soundtrack will play. Same issue happened to a friend. No background sound effects either. Game is completely silent until that random song plays. Also minor issues of adrolls sometimes never ending, and never being able to exit out of them without closing the app.

Still awesome. It's plants vs zombies - if you haven't played it somehow, play it! It's just as good on mobile as it was on PC. Only thing that would have been nice to add would have been a level select. I was worried when I saw it was published by EA, but it is the original game we love! Oddly enough the Zombie Vs Plants2 which is published by pop cap on here is the one ruined by EA. I really don't get why they're using diff publishing brands... but yeah, this is the original by popcap, you found it 🙌

I paid to remove ads but still getting them. A week after I paid to remove the ads I’m still getting them everywhere in the game!!!! Tried restoring purchase and closing and restarting multiple times in vain... :/

The good old days. I remember when this used to be a near-perfect port of the originally game just on a smaller screen. I’m disgusted at how EA manages to butcher everything they get their grubby little hands on nowadays. I hate what they did with the second game, and recently wanted to play this, and was genuinely horrified. As far as video game companies go, EA is the worst of them, with all of their freemium mobile games and micro transactions and an over abundance of paid dlc is every single one of their games. People; Stop paying for this trash and send them flat broke. It’s quite literally the only way they’ll learn to stop ruining everything they touch.

One of the best games I’ve ever played. Plants vs Zombies is a tower defence strategy game where you collect plants in (almost) every level and they help you progress through the game and eventually defeat the boss called `Edgar Zomboss’ that was made in 2009. There are also mini games and a survival mode that are pretty much just fun mini games to play to get money. This game is not the full version, but almost like the full version. This game is a masterpiece, and I’ll tell you why. Firstly it is highly addicting as there is a lot of content in the game. Secondly, the art in the game is very good. It’s not a rough, 8-bit art, but more rather a smooth texture. Finally, there’s a lot of levels to play. So in opinion, this game is a masterpiece!

Great game, but not with ads. Love this game to bits but hate the fact EA has taken over and decided to place ads around and want to charge users $4.49 or some other ridiculous price to remove just the ads! Was much better when PopCap had full rights to this, EA nothing but a money grabbing company. I used to ply this all the time without the ads and was great, now I’m sick of completing a few levels then bam, an ad!

Good game, needs more new levels. It’s a good game and all but Maybe more bonus levels and everything to be less expensive? Not a lot of adds, a pretty decent game. 4 star to 4 and 1/2 you don’t need to spend any real money only in game sunflower star things and coins, which I think is really good. Needs support for additional resolutions. Absolutely great and timeless game, a huge part of my childhood that I found myself coming back to recently. Just for the sake of quality of life, the game would hugely benefit from supporting various other device resolutions like the iPad models which use resolutions such as 768x1024 and 1024x1366 so that the user won’t have to play with black bars. I get that it’s old, but I reckon that further resolution support would help the games continual relevance as it ages.

Love this game, but, lately…. Love this game. Have played over n over for years. Lately, the sound keeps cutting out. EA seems impossible to get in touch with to sort out the issue. Keep getting directed to the community help page which is of no help. Frustrating playing without sound.

Good game but full of unbearable ads. Previously paid for this game and it was absolutely amazing and worth paying for. Then someone got greedy and decided they wanted more money so they changed the game to have ads and added in app purchases. Now it glitches all the time and kicks you out of the game for no reason. If you purchase something it also glitches during purchase and takes coins or money and the purchase doesn’t finish so you don’t get the item. Really disappointing.

Lost my progress by just refreshing the game... So I just re-downloaded this game to continue my 3 years of progress. For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been playing survival, having my internet turned off because of how annoying these ads were. Today, I opened the game on survival and forgot to turn off the Internet, so I just did what I had to do and refreshed the game because it got laggy. Once I’ve entered the game again in hopes I could continue survival mode in peace, now all of my progress was lost. Not just my survival record, but everything. My name was still visible, but Mini-games, the shop and zen garden was locked. The only game mode that was available was adventure mode. I still have all my achievements, but everything I’ve spent time on has vanished. I don’t know if it’s because I always leave my Internet off to play this game or there’s a major bug out there hidden that randomly deletes your progress. I’m now discouraged in playing this game again because I don’t want to waste so much time having to get everything that was once there. Again, I did nothing else but turn off the internet and refresh the game for smoother gameplay. In case you need this, I’m running this game on an IPhone 6, but I doubt this device has anything to do with the cause I’ve experienced today. I don’t know what are the chances of getting our progress deleted by just refreshing the game, but please find a way to fix this problem.

Seriously EA?. I’ve been playing this game since I was 6 years old, so basically for 8 years. I use to play on y iPod, and my brother and I would challenge each other to see who would beat the zombie boss on the roof, I managed to finish the game when I turned 7, and I was so happy. It was one of my favourite childhood games. Really? EA, of course had to take over the game and make changes, I just installed the app recently on my iPad, and I love how I have to start again, but I honestly don’t like what EA has done to the game, especially with PVZ2. This game will always be in my, and my older brothers heart.

Good Game turned into Bad Game. Now I was a fan of this trilogy, but now it’s just plain awful. I loved it when it was owned by PoPCap and it was actually GOOD. Unlike this one. You were too lazy to even remove the ‘pile up your zombies to space!’ Achievement when you removed that particular screen. And why do the levels/campaign put you in the wrong area!? I liked it MORE when my favourite and always loved developers PoPCap owned all rights to this game. Now it’s one of the worst ever. The only thing good is the graphics, YES, that’s all I like about this game now. Electronic Arts has made a masterpiece into a pigsty. So much for a name with ‘arts’ in it. No, nothing is accessible quickly! Before you could just go down to the menu and click ‘achievements’ and go! Now you have to click on your ‘profile’ and then click ‘achievements’ In all, 0.3/10 The game is too small to fit in my screen, but this is about BOTH games, the one I CAN play and I one I CANT. And I’m pretty sure I can’t play either without vomiting.

Awesome game!. Plants vs zombies has and always will be one of my favourite games, it’s really easy to learn how to play and there isn’t a lot of adds one after each level at most. The levels aren’t short like a lot of mobile games are and they get you invested in the game. I remember I first found out about this game when I saw my dad playing it and wanted to play so he made me a user in it, and I played and made it past chapter one then in chapter two, when crazy Dave chose three of our plants I refused to progress anymore. But even without progressing there’s a lot of things to do like taking care of your garden and playing the mini games or replaying the boss fight. Overall I would say it’s a great game for around 4-5 and up as it does require some strategy, the levels are fun to play and so are the mini games.

God damn it EA. Pvz is one of the greatest games ever made, and I’ve been playing it since it came out and it’s a lot of fun. I highly recommend it not only because it’s a lot of fun but because you don’t need internet to play. But ever since EA took over it’s gotten just a little worse. One word: ADS. Sooooo many ads. Also another thing that kinda annoyed me is the night time and fog levels. You don’t need a coffee bean for any of the daytime plants. So it kinda babyfied the nighttime levels. Those levels were supposed to be hard.

You already know what this about... :/. Yep you guessed it, another review about how there are too many ads. Now I’m not gonna ramble on and say “There’s too many ads” and “This ruins my favourite game”, now I’m not saying it ain’t true but you are scrolling through the replies and all you’re seein is reviews about too many ads. Well let me tell you that PvZ is a great game. If you haven’t played it before I highly suggest it. It is very fun and there is 50 adventure levels and every 10 levels the area changes and gets a new feature to make it really interesting. Plus, there is over 40 different unlock-able plants with their own unique abilities, and the levels get progressively more challenging as you go on. For a game moved from PC to mobile I would rate it 8.5/10. It is a very fun game and it’s kinda addicting too, I recommend you download it. Oh and pro tip, when you play turn off the Wifi on your device, you won’t get any ads, it’s basically ad remover for free.

Ads make it unplayable. I love this game but it has so many ads popping up everywhere that it plays like it’s infected with malware. To add insult, I paid $4 to remove ads and I seem to have more ads popping up than before. I’ve requested a refund and highly recommend you avoid this app. It’s really disappointing because the game itself is great!

Ad problem. I love the game, at least the much older version. So I was disappointed to see that between almost every loading screen there was an advertisement EACH time. So I paid for the advertising to go away. But every single day, the advertisements return and I have to refresh my PAID investment to make the adds go away. It is so frustrating to pay to eliminate the ads only to still see them on almost every losing screen.

Fun but ads ruin it. Love PVZ haven’t played in an incredibly long time but still awesome. However the amount of ads is insane. After every menu change and match you get ads. I use an iPhone X on the latest update, and the ads always bring me to the App Store even after hitting the “X”. On top of that the ads make the app freeze and I have to close the app and re open it. Upon reopening the app, you guessed it... another ad. EA trying to get more money. Typical.

My favorite game ever. This game is amazing. There is just no other way to describe it. Want more info? Sure. You start out with the tutorial which is very well made, and by the end of it you know exactly what you need to do. The difficulty gradually ramps up, so that you have time to get used to the new zombies. All of the different areas, plants and zombies make it very fun to play. You can never get enough. One of my favorite things about the game is that there is NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS. Unlike PvZ 2, you can’t buy advantages so that you can get through the game quicker. Take a hike EA. Everybody hates you. You ruined the PvZ franchise because of your greediness. In conclusion it is a great game that I recommend to everyone!!! Hope you have a fun time.

Great game, but don't play this version. PvZ is a classic and really good. But this version is not the best version. I'd say it is much better to get the Legacy edition on console or PC. Even though you have to pay for these ones, the quality is much better. Also, I would suggest the $0.99 version of this game on IOS, but EA took it down and replaced it with this version. There are pay-to-win mechanics which can be annoying but don't necessarily destroy the experience. The real turn-off are the ads. If you get other versions of this game, you won't get ads or in-game purchases. You'll also get extra features and modes. This is probably best described as the LITE version of PvZ. But, it is still PvZ to its core and therefore if you only have access to this version, I definitely suggest it.

I have.... mixed feelings.. It was great to come back and play this again, but I noticed several things that changed from when I lasted played it. Most noticeably the fact that ads. are. everywhere. As much as I hate them, they didn't anger me too much, it was all the small things. My most massive gripe, is that they removed the groovy song written by the original developers! That song was great! I wanted to hear it again. But E.A removed it for normal credits, without changing the "music video" button. I did see potential use of some the changes, like the fact if you were REALLY awful at keeping money, and still wanted your zen garden to produce, you could watch an ad to get the resources. I hate ads, but nice that they added that. And I swear, I do not remember imitater being buyable with coins. Maybe that's just reverse runoff of PvZ 2 or something, but I swear I don't remember that.

Very good game but….. Alright so the game was good until I got the four dollars worth of coins after that I had cob cannon and so many zen garden plants but after that the game got a bit of boring because I already beat plants vs zombies then after that I realized I had a second adventure when I realized that I started to just grind zen garden plants when I got most of the spaces for plants filled up I didn’t do much after that after I just tested out every plant after that I tried out last stand endless and I really liked that so I played that for a long time because I could test out plants and place a ton of them also to wrap it up I would like a sandbox mode.

It’s a fun yet not too challenging strategy game. There is bonus levels, a nice variety of plants, and even extra stuff like a garden where you can grow plants for in game money. Now if you are a more serious player then you should get pvz2. It is more challenging and there are way more plants. It also has lots more levels, and even an online game mode. Now it will never be as good as the first, but it is a good game in general. There is a lot more to it than the first game. Also if you made it this far then thanks for reading my review, I guess. great game. classic, nostalgic game that’s highly addicting. amazing for a game that doesn’t require wifi. everything from the soundtrack to the graphics and to the actual concepts are awesome, just like i remembered from my childhood but perhaps even better. popcap did a great job with this. i think pvz is making a comeback and all my friends and i are so invested, which is fun and takes my mind off of things. however: the game crashes. my survival day no longer works because every time i click it the app crashes. i really want this fixed because i need survival day to complete achievements and just enjoy. too many ads!! this can be fixed by turning wifi off, but that turns off a lot of my other phone functions. popcap > EA, disappointed at what EA did to such a great game by including so many micro transactions.

Plants vs Zombies Review. Plants vs Zombies Introduction Pvz is a free app for many or all devices. It has many levels in the game so people can play it for a while before completing all the levels. I also like how there are many achievements so some people would be more willing to challenge themselves. In my opinion, pvz is a very versatile game and an app for many ages to play. It doesn’t have any extremely gory scenes when the zombies die. When playing pvz, you have to use strategy , prior knowledge, and experience as well as some trial and error. The game is also a free and (in my opinion) fun app to play. Problems or Issues (The ones I have experienced) The game occasionally glitches , especially in those moments where you’re so close to beating a level , as well as in the very beginning. When you actually complete an achievement , sometimes the game doesn’t recognize it so you have to try doing it again. Final Thoughts Plants vs Zombies is a versatile game (in my opinion) because there are levels to complete , mini games to play, achievements to challenge yourself , plants to care for in Zen Garden , and puzzles to try for yourself. The game has a few bugs that need to be fixed , but overall pvz is a free and overall fun game to play.

Love This Game Hate The Phone Version. I have always loved this game it’s a classic. I’ve played it on many different platforms. But the phone version is by far the worst. There are too many adds so I decided to pay to stop seeing them. But my game stopped working and would crash every single time I tried to click on a level. So I got a refund and am back to being bombarded with adds. The graphics look terrible compared to the computer version. I’m guessing it’s because it hasn’t been updated sense it’s been released so it’s not meant for newer phones. But the most annoying thing is that I can’t even enjoy the music or sound in the game. The sound is distorted and an annoying crackling sound overpowers all other sounds. There is no way to get rid of this and probably won’t EVER get fixed along with the other issues because it’s never updated. Even though they are making tons of money by having adds. It’s just really disappointing is all.

EA Ruined PvZ/false reviews. EA ruined this game. I bought it for real money when it first came out. Now it’s injected with so many ads you have to watch videos after every level. In addition, EA has added micro transactions, as well as made the game unstable, including by raising shop prices, meaning that you know lose over $1K money for buying and growing marigolds. They have even added pay to win features in the form of watching advertisements MID-GAME for explode-o-nuts, and ads now literally fall from the sky in the form of rakes (but you have to watch a video for it of course). Unforgivable. I regret ever updating to this version. Of course, every single review for this game is before EA did this “surprise update”. It borders on false advertising. At the very least I feel cheated out of the money I paid for when the game first came out. Now years later they’ve injected ads into it to squeak out as much money from a decade old game as they can. Unbelievable.

Fun Game!. I heard about this game long before I actually downloaded it. That’s because I had no interest in it. But I was wrong! This game is a strategy game where you put down plants to defend the zombies. You grow sunflowers to generate suns, which then buy you other defensive plants. Soon, you will defend the zombies with time and planning. As you progress, you earn more plants and even mini games and different modes. The more you play the harder it gets. The in app purchases in this game are only coin packages and other useless things, so you don’t have to worry about paying to unlock certain parts of the game. The second version of the game is something I’m dying to try, but I’m waiting to max out this game first. Please download this game, as it’s an awesome game for anyone to play!

Great game, A LOT OF ADS. Really, really awesome game. 3 stars because of excessive ads. I’m a person that is normally fine with watching ads, but this is too much. The pattern; Game…(insert prize)…but before you see it, watch an ad and before you play another game, watch an ad. It goes Game, Commercial, Commercial, Game, Commercial, Commercial, Game. And…you have to click the arrow for it to move on from the ad, but it takes you to the App Store, then you click “back to P v Z,” but it takes you back to the end of the ad. You click the “x” button, but it takes you to the title of the product, then you hit the “x” again and you go back to the game. Either way, great game. But if you won’t pay, be prepared to wait. And remember…you can’t just put down the game during commercials and walk away, then come back…it requires clicks to continue. Sorry. First and last ever review of a game.

Love the (original) game!!!. I love this game. I love it so so so so so so so sooooooo much. I’ve played for years. This game is simple on the surface, but coming up with an optimal strategy can be quite challenging. And with the different places to play, there isn’t tone great lineup to use for every level. The only problems I have with this game, are do to the fact that this isn’t the original release. Sometime around 2015, the original game was taken off the App Store, and replaced with this! And all this version changed, was some random ui stuff, and took away some fun things. The mini games and order in which they are obtained was changed, but worst of all, the credits song was removed, even though the zombies said they made a music video. They should have just kept it the way it was.

Please fix this I'm dying to play!!. Ive been playing pvz sence I was 4 and it's one of my favorite games still, it's really creative and I love all the characters. I have downloaded it again a few months ago because I haven't played it in a like about a year and I found the game again and really missed it, I love all the new updates there awesome! but one of my favorite things to do is 100% the endless mode, however..now when I try to get into the game and go in thats the only thing that doesn't load! If Iclick on it and it will only take me out of the game, please fix this? If your already working on it sorry to seem impatient I just didn't know. Love the game tho!!

What even happened. This is one of my favorite games of all time, it’s such a classic and yet the only way to play it on iOS now is through a free only version with ads everywhere, honestly what happened to just being able to buy the game or being able to pay you to have ads off, I think this is incredibly unfair to people who genuinely want to play this game without interruptions. Another thing that really bothers me now is the fact that the screen is stretched on the new iPhones, you guys have made a ton of money from this game over the years and yet the iOS version continues to support the new iPhones with the picture literally being stretched, it’s so ugly and it’s just so hard to look at. I didn’t want to rate this one star but honestly I’m personally not seeing any improvement in the game, I think things were fine when the app didn’t fill up the whole screen and I think things were perfectly fine when there was a free version and a paid version.

Just like back in 2009.. I remember playing this game on my old desktop computer back in highschool. I played it so many times I already lost count. Just randomly thought to play this again this time around because I was bored. Lucky for me it’s still the same PvZ I knew and loved. Also paid the 3$ no-ads purchase because I think that’s worth all the hours I’ve spent (and will spend) on this game. Only thing that bothers me is that even though I paid the no-ads thing, I still have to view ads for special add-ons (rake, exploding wallnut, extra plant slot, etc.). Wish that was included in the 3$ purchase. But it’s not really a dealbreaker for me though. Still love this! This is how a mobile game should be. Simple and no frills.

EA Bad. This game is incredible. However, EA pulled the original app (luckily still installed on my iPhone and iPad) but now this one has been visually stretched out in a very ugly way to accommodate larger phone displays. Additionally, there are adds after almost every level completed and optional adds to acquire a rake or additional plant. Initially I paid $3 for the app and received an incredible game. Unfortunately EA pulled that game and added this free version. It’s like someone going back and adding duck lips to the Mona Lisa. Not only did EA mess with what was arguably a perfect game, but they added bloat, adds, and constant interruptions that make the game lose the charm and flow. After PvZ2 I didn’t think I could be more disappointed until I found out they even went back and messed with the originally. EA, we don’t like you. Stop ruining games with your greedy mentally. Ever think it would be nice to create a good game people love and not just something designed to take money and ruin user experience?

Yes, there are ads,… but the rest of it is worth it!. I have known about this game and played it for years, but this is my first permanent installation of it. If you hesitate long enough between two sessions you will come across an ad, and the same thing will happen every time a level or whatever is completed. However, that does not take enough of the quality away for me to abandon it forever. I beat the main story mode on my first try and have since been focused on completely filling up my gardens. There isn’t a lot to use the coins for after a while, but I still use them to buy rakes, fertilizer, and bug spray. Overall a nostalgic experience and a must have.

Portal Combat crashes the app. I’m on an iPhone 11 Pro most up-to-date iOS. I completed everything in this game way back in the day, but for a while it was not kept up to date in favor of other games & eventually it crashed and I lost all my progress (older phone/iOS when that happened.) Now that it is updated and will run on my phone again, I’m in the progress of going through everything a second time, and every time I get to Portal Combat and the portals go to move the entire app crashes.I’ve had this happen at least a half a dozen times so I’m giving up on that for now. So far this is the only glitch I have found but is very annoying because I want to be able to re-earn all my trophies.

Ads?. Plants vs. Zombies was one of my favorite games as a child. I still always go back to it. But recently I noticed the app has ads now? If I’m remembering correctly, PvZ used to never have ads. I’m not sure if you still have to purchase the game (when I first got the game you had to purchase it), but what is the point of purchasing a game if it’s going to have ads after every level? Even going to the main menu, an ad pops up. It’s quite irritating and makes it not worth even playing anymore. There’s not even an option to purchase no ads. I get it, they have to make their money. But the game itself is already being purchased. A few ads here and there is totally fine and understandable. But it’s so consistent it ruins the quality and experience of the game. I hate to uninstall it but it’s just ridiculous at this point. I’m so sorry ):

Plants versus zombies is my all-time favorite game I’ve played it for the Xbox 360 and it was the best version I ever played unfortunately The same cannot be said for the mobile version, I would highly recommend getting the consul version, The Xbox 360 Version has backwards compatibility for the Xbox one, The mobile version isn’t that bad, but compared to the other versions, it’s a little week. I don’t like the micro transactions that EA put into the mobile version. In fact that is the main reason I love this game more than plants versus zombies two. Plants versus zombies requires skill and it is also fair in fun. Plants versus zombies two requires you to spend money for premium plants, Power ups, and coins. Anyway I love this game with all my heart and I would highly recommend it for anyone.

Once a great game, has fallen to sh…. I used to love playing this game and decided to redownload it. Unfortunately, there is no way to log in to your old account, so if you had a lot of progress done, it’s all gone now and you’ll never recover it. The dev’s don’t even care, they have shown zero interest when contacted. To add insult to injury, if you are lucky enough to get the game to work, congrats. Because the game loads up ads from the very start and won’t let you skip them. You have to watch the ads, then it AUTOMATICALLY switches you over to the App Store to download the advertised game, whether you want to or not. And upon returning back to the game, you’re met with a screen that won’t change or let you past. You don’t get to play this game anymore, and once again the dev team just tells you to download PvZ2. “Because it’s the same game, but a better version” Translation: they want to get more money out of you and the sequel is a lot easier to do that with.

Used to be a fun game, now serious hot garbage. I remember playing PVZ two or three years back, and then playing it again last year. EA has stuffed waaaaaaaay too many ads into this game. Before, you could get an Explode-O-Nut for 3000 coins, now you have to watch an ad for them. All the mini games used to be insta unlocked when you got the mini games mode, now you have to pay a big fat load of 50,000 coins to get five. Also the rate of zombies dropping coins is a lot lower, so I think EA is trying to bribe gamers into thinking it was too hard to grind for those games and then paying for it with real life cash. I really hope this message gets to EA with all the other reviews here. Thanks for reading. Super Duper Fun! But I have some requests... Hi! This game is super fun and I totally recommend it. But developers. I suggest a few things to make it even more fun! 1: please add a feature where players can access the inside of there house and be able to see all there plants! Not planted of course. But there would be a big board and you click on the plant to see what they do!! 2: maybe you could add a new zombie. A flying zombie! That has wings. It would be very fun if you did the flying zombie for fog/roof. 3: please add more areas. I highly recommend a “Rain” one. Where it’s raining. And again, you could add more zombies! The umbrella zombie..the raincoat zombie..and the thunder zombie. Also maybe a snow area? A park? Again, these are only suggestions 😁thank you for your time!

Plants vs zombie. The zombie will take a lot of work to kill and I think that the best part about this game is that the graphics are great and that it is a challenging game, but also fun that you can play on the go and it has very little amount of ad that will come on in the middle of the game. It does not bother you while you’re playing the game and it only will play ad when you ask to get like the rake unlocked to hit the zombies or the exploding potato, or all those things, but most of all all the person that created this was a very talented, but creative person. That’s why I like this person is a really I would recommend it to all of my friends.

Hey so if your considering I don’t have any thing to say and I’m trying to make the reviews that I put on apps shorter so here’s some things that I love about the game bc I have nothing bad to say! 1: the graphics and plot of the game is amazing ,fun,funny,and overall amazing! 2:the number of different plants you can have is great. Not to many, and not too little. 3:the different maps are great and I like how you have to accomplish things in one map to get another one. 4:how the maps tie into the plot is amazing! 5: I know I’ve been talking about a “story that comes along with it” a ton. I’ll evaluate on that. So once you have accomplished certain things in the starting map, the crazy dude and his van show up, and that’s where the story begins. They take you back in time to ancient Egypt and it gets harder and harder. I haven’t completed all the maps yet but I will probably update this once I have. 6: overall if you have taken the time to read all of this or at least skimmed through it, you’ll know that I talked this game up a lot. Game is fun but doesn’t always work.... I redownloaded it just to kill sometime & started to really get into it. Then one day it stopped working. I would tap the app to open it & it wouldn’t load. It would bring up the PopCap game logo then completely shut down. It wouldn’t show up in my launched apps so I couldn’t close it to try and restart it. I originally deleted it & knew I had a login so I could get my info back so I wasn’t too worried. I redownloaded the app, went to login again & it started me back at square 1. It sucked, but I was fine as long as could play. Played for a few days and then it wouldn’t open again just like before. I tried reporting a bug to EA but it wouldn’t let me & just kept saying “refer to the Q&A” which hasn’t had anything posted since like 2018. If it doesn’t resolve & I end up deleting it again, I probably won’t redownload it bc this is just getting annoying at this point.

This is one of the greatest games of all time. I need to make something clear, when I say that this game is the greatest of all time, I mean it. This game is one of the best looking games with its visual style being pleasing on the eyes, it’s music being so catchy that you get it stuck in your head you don’t want to get it out, it plays amazingly, having rock solid mechanics and an insanity satisfying gameplay loop, and the story and characters are simple, but charming and extraordinarily memorable. The game is one of the greatest that has ever been made, and this version even fixes a lot of the problems that I have had with other versions of this game. This game is the best out of all of the franchise and is the greatest game you could ever have on your phone.

Love it, but it’s broken. I love this app! But it’s had so many glitches over the years. I had to delete it before and completely restart everything, because every time I opened it, it crashed. Then I re-did every level until I finished and was playing the adventure section when once again it began to crash and force me to my home screen. It only crashed when I hit adventure so I decided to replay the normal levels. Now, I went on the app today and everything is suddenly lost and it’s acting as if I’ve never played the game before. It lost all my progress, what I bought in the shop, what I had, EVERYTHING. It’s acting as if I’ve never played the game and making me do the most simple things and explain how it works, when just yesterday it was okay. They need to fix these app glitches, but in the meantime I’m done playing. I’m not going to restart everything a third time.

New ways of killing zombies and others things you should add in PvZ 1. When a football zombie hits a tallnut the helmet or arm should fall off. Cactus should damage zombies when touched or puff spikes out of it self all over the lawn the damage should be normal. A new stage should be added as well like in the grave yard like the fog and night level combined but instead of the lawn or pool in a grave yard like in the loading screen with the zombies come from. Two plants should be added as well one night and day the night plant should be a planter but it gives 25 sun and the day plant should be a armored suited wall-nut like the upgrade plants and the cost should be 2,000 coins and needs to be planted on a wall-nut and the strength should be like a tall-nut

Review. This is the best game I’ve ever played as a child! I love how so much effort was put into this game. It’s a one player game that is just so addictive (in a good way). Unfortunately, I wish the progress was saved if you delete this app. I wish you could create an account and access your progress, but if you redownload the app plants vs zombies, your progress becomes gone. But I didn’t want to rate it less than 5 stars because it’s my childhood favorite game. It reminds me somewhat of Zuma’s revenge because both of them are one single player games and are so detailed in their own way. And I won’t forget to mention, zuma’s revenge and plants vs zombies were both created by PopCap Games!!!

Amazing Game.. I used to play Plants Vs Zombies on my old DS. I completed it, and now my DS is broken. I didn’t know PvZ, the original, not the second one, was on mobile until today! I downloaded it immediately! It’s a lot easier than I remember, but still just as fun! I play the second one as well. They’re both fun, but if I’m being completely honest, the second is better. The dialog, though fun, annoys me. I just want to murder some zombies!! But, it has a story line, better graphics, and more plants (or at least I think so?). But, if I were new to the PvZ games, I would play this one first, and then the second, and the online one could just be in between. But anyway, I love this game, so so much! Thank you, PvZ creator people, for making these three super fun games!

Ad central and does not list what information they collect from your device. Ads pop up every minute or so. You have to watch these videos in order to get something that you need during game play or in between games or screens. I paid $3 to get the ad free version. It only stopped the random ads and the ads between screens. I still have to watch ads for those items that you need during game play. The cherry on top is that they do not list what information they collect on you. The App Store says that next time they update they will have to up date what information they collect. Problem is they have not updated in a long time as in over 6 months.

Great Game, but.... I completely love this game so much and can not stop playing it. I’ve played it before on PC, but I’d only had it for about a week on mobile and completed the campaign. The mini games are super fun and challenging. There’s something about the Zen Garden that I love so much. There really aren’t any flaws whatsoever to the game itself. Although, lately, I’ve been trying to play and am unable to. I can enter the app and it will remain open on the main menu, but as soon as I choose Adventure, Mini Games, or Zen Garden, the game will crash. I’ve tried refreshing the app, even restarting my phone, yet the same problem occurs. I don’t know if this is a common problem, or just my own problem, but if possible, I’d like it to be fixed. I want to get back to playing! :(

Highly recommended!. I love this game a lot, and I think anyone who is considering buying this really should. It’s a fun tower-defense game that brings challenge. The only thing is, everything costs a lot, and some of the items are useless. Also, (spoilers) in the zen garden post game I can’t seem to find any plants while playing levels, and I can’t purchase stinky the snail, even though I had done that on my old phone, so I don’t know if the problem is with me or just the game in general. I still highly recommend getting this game though because I still have a lot of fun with it. It is very high quality for a free game, and the mini games are awesome ( if you can afford them) I also recommend any other PvZ games, so check those out too! Five stars!

Idk. I found out recently that you could buy coins for pretty cheap and I bought some rn I bought some but before I completed the transaction I left the app to text someone and then it said transactions completed when I went back in the app I didn’t have my coins i thought no big deal I’ll just buy it again the transaction probably just didn’t go through but when I tried again it said I didn’t have enough money so i was like what so I left and reset the app went back in and still no coins I also checked how much money I had in my account and yep the money was gone I wouldn’t care that much since it was little money but I was trying to buy a new mini game and now I have to actually get all the coins which is kinda annoying since I alr completed the game I’m a huge fan of PvZ so please fix this

One day I was scrolling on my phone when I first found this game I was ver excited watching videos about it I said in my mind *hmm maybe this plant game is cool🌱!* I went to the App Store I searched PvZ when I saw all of these cool games I was in love with this game. There’s very cool details, my favorite plant is Chomper he is soo cool! Fun game but…. The bombardment of ads is annoying. I’d be willing to pay to get rid of them, however there is no obvious option in which to do so. If you want my money, make it easy for me to give it to you. I shouldn’t have to search through multiple menus or write a crappy review in order to get instructions to give it to you. However, I will probably be deleting this app after the review is posted because the invasion of privacy is ridiculous. The amount of info EA wants just for playing the game is insane and concerning. Permission to send notifications? Weird, but ok. But location sharing? My iTunes and access to my personal photos? F**** no. It’s not hard to deny all that and turn it off after the game is downloaded, but the fact that a mobile game is asking for any of that data when it isn’t related to the use of the app in the first place is not ok.

Best game that involves plants???. i don’t usually give reviews but this game is just amazing, i can’t just not write a review on it, this game is great and has a good reputation across the globe, excited to see what this game brings to the table in possible future updates, or just the game itself as i haven’t played through a lot of it. I’ve heard of roof themed levels and i’ve seen crazy dave and the peanut mini game, so this is a no brainer to not say this game is a great simplistic game. I love this style of designs i think this will be a blast, a brain blast!!! But no brains for those zombies as i still have many adventures to go! I am excited for a tall nut and other plants to go, seriously though why is this game so good!!!

Used to be more fun. The game really was a whole lot more fun than it is now. Honestly, I’m sick and tired of endless ads. They just completely ruined the game. I get that you make money from ads, but why do you people have to be SO greedy with it and milk it to the very last drop? It’s sickening. Plus, the ads freeze way, way, WAY too often. Especially when I’m trying to get a rake in the beginning of a level or trying to get more chocolate and the others in the zen garden. It’s ridiculously pathetic how many times the screen freezes and I’m forced to exit the app and start it up again. Please fix this glitch that is driving me and others crazy. Another really big issue is how much it costs for the mini games now... are you kidding me?! 50,000 coins?! That’s such a rip off. And the game doesn’t even give you many coins like it used to so you have to keep playing the same levels over and over again just to get a tiny bit more coins. It’s all just pathetic. Please fix these issues and more of what others are saying as well because the game really was one of my favorites and now it’s 100% just a sketchy knock off game that makes you so incredibly annoyed and frustrated to the point where you just decide to delete the app and that’s it. Scummy Ads Tactics. so i’ve played this for many years and recently decided to redownload it and play again. before when i played i purchased the ad free pack so i didn’t expect ads this time from redownloading it. immediately i was surprised and looked for some sort of restore purchase button but i couldn’t find one. turns out you can only restore purchase after you unlock the shop, and you only unlock the shop about halfway through the adventure mode. so basically i had to sit through hundreds of ads just to get a option to restore my original purchase. and even then after a couple of hours the game just disregards my purchase and starts showing me ads again anyways. each time i have to turn on airplane mode, then go back to shop, turn off airplane mode, click restore button again, and then hope that it actually honors my purchase.

Veteran POV (message to EA). As one of the original players of the game in the first year, I want to say that after almost 10 years of not playing it, I still would say it is the best mobile game I have ever played in my life. Angry birds would be first, but with it shut down and the remake being for that dumb arcade and locked, they aren’t close now. Sadly, PVZ has been claimed by EA, a company that straight up kicked the creator to add transactions. With this, This is the only game I would still play than PVZ 2, since EA is not a friend to me. If EA decides to be a grown man than a child, than we will talk. I challenge EA to put in a PVZ game for only 1.99, no upgrade your plants, no adds, having no ads straight up break the game, no pay to get plants, and a creative story. After that, see how good it will do. I will say that you are a good company and will even play that game.

Ok I’m back on the street at home I got the truck I need some money to pick up some stuff from you and I take them home after I pick you up and I will pick up some lunch or lunch tomorrow I’ll let you know how much it was I got you a lot done and you did not want you to go home and get it done so I’m going home to pick you guys up I’ll be home in the morning I have to go home and get home and pick you up some time for me and I can come get some work done tomorrow I will be done with the car tomorrow and will pick you home around four I will be done with you and I can do it I have to go home and pick you up some time and stuff for you tomorrow I will be done with the truck and I take you home after lunch and lunch tomorrow I can pick up the truck tomorrow I will be done

Why. This game was great, until EA took over. PvZ on mobile makes the game easier as you can plant faster, which is a good thing, but EA decided that some features should be cut entirely to accommodate for a few more. While we now have a level selection system and six new last stand levels, a few things didn’t make it. First of all, a few minigames didn’t make the cut. These include wall-nut bowling, Whack a zombie, big trouble little zombie, Dr. Zomboss’s revenge, and more i may have missed. To be fair, these are adventure minigames, and are now available on the level select menu, but on pc or any other platform, these minigames were harder versions of the adventure variant. A bigger impact was the loss of hard survival levels. These levels removed most of the fun from playing the survival levels, as the hard versions were more likely to include tougher zombies and lasted longer. I would really like these levels back.

Nostalgic game with some revisions ):. I used to play this game 24/7 eight or so years ago. I loved it. And to say the least, this is an amazing game that will trigger anyone’s nostalgia. I only have a few things I hoped are fixed, A: Where is the Gnome Zombie! He was the thing that made me log in under my bed as a kid and just stare at him for hours! So please please please bring him back. B: Whenever I tap the bonus games it just says there’s an error and the only way I can play them is when the game says I haven’t played it yet. Also, for C: this is for the customer, this game is sorta easy until pool level so yeah. D: and finally, can we have more night levels please? I mean, considering that half the plants I own are ‘sleeps during the day’ ones, I want to use them more but also fight stronger zombies in new levels! All in all this is a great game!

Phenomenal Game, Scummy Ad Policy. To be honest this would a five star review, but I’ve come across a glaring issue that is so horrible it drops the rating as low as possible and must be addressed. The game now features ads, which is fine since it’s also now free and you can buy it to remove ads. The problem is that even after buying ads it still prompts you to watch ads every level to get advantages in the game (for example a rake that blocks the playing field or how it is now very difficult to lose because you can just watch an ad to replenish lawn mowers). Worse yet, ads still appear unannounced whenever you play any bonus/mini game. This is horrendously unacceptable. I should not have to sit through ads when I pay money not to see them. It is false advertising and ILLEGAL. EA proves time and time again that they can’t be trusted... I miss the old days when Pop Cap was independent and didn’t use scummy tactics like blatantly lying to their customers to make money.

Why are there ads on an app I payed $1.99 for???. Plants Vs. Zombies is one of my favorite games of all time, I absolutely love it and have played through it many of times since I first purchased it on the computer, and have beat it on almost every device you can beat it on (PS3, PC, Phone, Nintendo DS) so as you can see, I love the game. But I am writing this review right now as moments ago I was playing the phone version, when an ad popped up multiple times after I finished various levels? I know it’s not a big deal, but ads popping up randomly on apps make them feel so much less premium and have less quality, and I especially don’t think an app you may 2 dollars for should have random pop up ads! Would rate the game 5 stars if not for this, as it is one of my all time favorites. Shame l.

EA ruined a masterpiece. I grew up with the original plants vs zombies, yes I was one of those lucky ones to see it in the form that the original creators imagined it in before they were fired by the company that bought out popcap. I recently wanted to re-download it in order to get nostalgia and play through my favorite levels. First thing I noticed was the design and format change of the home screen and level selection, that in itself is completely fine. However, in the original the mini games would be free and now they cost so much money that you’d have to buy coins in order to afford them without doing massive grinding. Then there’s the ads, every time you finish a level an ad pops up and ruins the moment of completion. I heavily DO NOT recommend this version of the game to any OG players in fear of disappointment. For any new players, I still do not recommend it because they will be met with a bad impression on a once glorious game. I normally do not write reviews like this but EA has forced my hand.

Great game, but the ads are almost unbearable.. I’ve played this game sporadically for years now. I started playing it on my second generation iPod touch way back when it was new. I’ve loved it from the first time I’ve played it and it has infinite replay value. However, the ads that have been added to the game in recent years have made it almost unbearable. There’s an ad before and after every level as well as when you open the game or navigate to the home screen. Some of the ads force you to the App Store before you can close them, so if you don’t have signal then you have to deal with waiting for it to load. Many of the ads are upwards of 60 seconds with no option to skip. Additionally, I have not been able to find an option to purchase ad-free gameplay, so it seems like you’re stuck with them. The game itself is fantastic.
