A+++. I absolutely love this app! Definitely a life saver... I bought it, after many hours of debating it and looking at all the other art reference apps (which cost more) but this one seemed much more appealing, and worth more than the price. If you're an aspiring artist, or a professional, this app is a must have! Worth every penny, and more. I did notice it was hard to use on my iPhone 5c, but works beautifully on my iPad after I got the hang of the mechanics. Has so, so many poses. Both silly, serious, and sexy. Jumping, sitting, standing, lounging. There are also plenty of hand poses to get the job done, so don't worry. However, it would be nice being able to manually pose the fingers. May be a little hard posing something so small, though. I love the ability to choose the body type as well! Made me happy to see there was a small chested super thin pose, as well as a heavier type. I would love a facial app, to add to the two apps you've created. Or incorporating that into these. Keep up the fantastic work! And if you're someone looking into buying this app, don't hesitate! I'm cheap, and I'd buy this beauty all over again.

Best for the price. Been using this on my mom’s iPad for years and just got my own iPad so I bought it again. I like that it’s inexpensive and works well for what I use it for which is just drawing my friends’ dnd characters. The hands leave a lot to be desired but I either work with what I’ve got and make minor adjustments or use a different app for hands specifically.

An app for artists. There are like only three ugly hair choices but the model itself is very flexible and easy to manipulate. I had no trouble in getting it into natural positions and gestures. The anatomy is pretty good as well but do not lean on it fully. everything in this app is easy to control, it just takes a very long time to get it in the right position but it is easy.

Well thought out app design. Needs update badly.. I’ve had this app for years. It’s a really well-designed concept and useful tool for artists. But at this point it is long overdue for an update with its content 3D models. By comparison apps like Daz3D (likely used in the design of this app.), and its muscle definition and joint movement has long since passed the model’s capabilities in this app. The models have very unnatural joint bends in any thing resembling real athletic or dance poses, for example. Please update!! I would easily give this app 5 Stars, with new and improved models with more realistic flexibility and joint and muscle definition.

Best in competition. I've purchased more than a few 3d model apps and this one is by far the best. It functions great and is very easy to use. The character model detailed more than any other app of this kind. Great job! I would like to see a male figure app and a little more flexibility with the light source. 5 out of 5

Good but LIMITED. This app can be very helpful however there are several things that drag it down. The amount of options for lighting and pose are near limitless and completely open for you to manipulate. The preloaded poses are varied and dynamic enough that I find very little need to ever pose one of the 3D models manually. I can usually find a preloaded pose easily enough and move it around a little bit to get what pose I’m looking for. In those respects the app is great however its limitations rear their head soon enough. You are very limited when it comes to body shapes, a problem that is very noticeable with the women models which don’t really mimic any body shape except the classic “superhero” shape. You cannot alter the face/expression and there are only a few options for hair (all of which are nothing near realistic). So any drawings you do from this app quickly begin to all look the same, same body shape, same proportions, same face, same hair. For the price the app is good enough, just wish you could alter actual appearance of the 3D model more. It’s fine if you’re gonna crank out canned drawings of superheroes but if you want to explore drawing actual figures you’re gonna be left wanting. Oh also for the male version of the app always turns my music waaaay down when I open it and won’t let me turn it back up, super weird cuz the woman version doesn’t, I dunno.

Very useful, but could use some additions. For the most part this is an outstanding app. Its easy to use and does what its designed for very well. I do wish it could have multiple models in the same editor and different faces with different expressions. The hair styles could use some work, many of them are way to poofy, and i would like a few more hair styles, especially more ethnic hair. Lastly it would be awesome if we could have sliders that let us morph fat content in individual areas. Like a sliders that could individually adjust fat content for legs, waist bust, arms, and face. Or at the very least different models with different body types. Lastly while there is minimal distortion in most of the model the buttocks and groin areas can become very distorted.

Doesn't work. I love the app, I have played with it on my friends phone before I bought it. But it doesn't work on my iPhone 6 Plus. The app just crashes and drops when I try to open it. Hope to see it fixed asap.

Absolutely love. This is so great and realistic for figure artists, traditional or contemporary. I've used this countless times. Only thing is... can we PLEASE get a feature where there is a "life drawing" mode of some sort? Where it looks real on the surface with flesh details?? It's so hard to find life drawing classes and groups these days, and forget about asking someone to pose nude for you lol. A feature like that would make this app PERFECT!!

So close to five stars. I really love this app and use it often. My only critiques is that I wish there were teen and child models and to be able to pose the hands freely!

Review. It’s ok but there are better apps

Uncertain. I've had this app for a day or so and it doesn't seem to have all the controls operating. The one that comes up frequently is the limb rotation with the two fingers. One finger holding down and the other sliding has no effect on rotating limbs. Is this feature unavailable for IPod Touch 6 users?

Excellent. The detail in this model is very good, but for me where this app really shines is in ease of use. The method of posing is so much faster and simpler than other apps I've seen. To me this app is easily worth twice what they're charging for it. Kudos to the developer for an excellent product!

Very Useful. I'm currently a cartooning major in my senior year of college and I must say that this is an extremely helpful app when it comes to finding that perfect pose. I've tried other similar apps but this is by far the best especially for the price. It's a little tricky at first when trying to create a pose but once you get the hang of it you can create the pose you want fairly quickly. I highly recommend this app for all artists as it's a valuable tool to have at your disposal.

Just what I was looking for.. This app is hands down my go to app for reference. Not only has it sparked my imagination for new characters but also the angles in which I draw them. Thanks for the great app. I hope the next one has two people or onion skinning/camera matching for multiple people poses.

Good but limited. Seemingly realistic pose capability, and I love that you can lower or raise the model in relation to the floor. I just wish there was an undo button... It could also do with more body types as right now there are only two: really thin, and thin. It could use more hairstyles too and the ability to pose individual fingers like other apps I've used. All in all, not bad for $3

My only complaint. I've been using this app for my own drawings and have also encouraged my students to buy the app for their own figure studies. I only have two things to say: 1. Are you going to update the female version as you did the male version? 2. The only thing keeping these apps from being perfect is the limited body types and hair types. Also, is there a possibility of different facial expressions? Even if they are just presets like the hands, facial expressions would definitely go a long way in improving this app.

Sensational App!. I love the the updates you made to the female app! I love the additional save slots you created. This allows me to save many more poses that I create. I like that I can now import and exports poses. Thank you for continuing to appease the end user! I appreciate that you continue to make improvements on this app...awesome! Keep up the AMAZING WORK! Best app I have seen by far! ----------- I have looked at so many different posing apps and this by far is exceptional! Finally, someone who knows what the hell they are doing!! excellent referrencing app. this is just what I was looking for. I am highly recommending this app to whoever is an artist looking to create their own referrencing poses. It would be nice to see some facial expressions added to make the poses more unique. It's hard to capture a nice pose with the same expression always. Hopefully we will see some newer features in the next update. Other than that, keep up the awesome work. thanks for an awesome app.

It's really good, but.... This app is almost amazing. The basics are all great, I love the adjustable lighting and the options to not have the skin displayed. It is my current first choice pose tool (along with the male version), but the controls are not my favorite. They're not exactly intuitive, and it's difficult to perfect a pose. Turning the limbs is a chore, so I end up looking at photo references instead fairly often. I would love to see an option to go down to skeletal, and an option to use a picture in the background- for difficult poses that are environment based, or for scale. It IS worth the money, even with the issues I have, it's a great tool. I just hope they keep developing the app in the future.

Terrific App esp. with preset poses. Both male and female versions are great and work the same way. You will no doubt want both. i use this in my graphic novel artwork. Works great with Comic Draw app. just load posed images into Comic Draw as a background reference layer. I left similar review for the male edition. Same wish list - control background, transparent or green screen - facial types - facial controls - facial expression library - maybe one app with loadable library - sell models in app purchase

FE version is great, but not flexible enough. I have both the male version and this one. I noticed when testing the app, I was attempting to put her in a sit-up position and found it impossible. She is not flexible enough in the torso area. The male version is MUCH more flexible in the torso. This should be an easy fix.

Awesome App!. It is very useful for getting poses and camera angles that would normally be very difficult to see in actual life (even with a camera and using yourself as the actual model). Everything works great so far, however a two character model poser would be VERY useful (1 male with 1 female as the standard or 2F 2M together for posing action shots like fighting). I do comic strips and some action anatomy can be quite difficult if you only have 1 model. However for this single Female Model the anatomy and lighting is awesome! More hair is probably needed. Other than that 4.3 stars I'd say. :)

Worthwhile. Great anatomy and lots of articulation points offering a lot of possibilities. Controls aren't too hard to pick up with a little practice. Good enough that I've just purchased the male version as well. I would like if you could adjust the lighting points from directly below and above though it's possible I just haven't figured out how to do that yet. I do recommend this app

Great app!. Small issue at start as update caused bug with app and iTunes draggin their feet for update approval. Finally playing with app and absolutely love it. Well worth the money and great job from Devs staying on the ball with fixes! Great job and will def be a returning customer!

Excellent Start!. This app makes for a fantastic reference for female poses, my only request is that it get the same treatment the Male app has gotten, with muscle overlay and a more gradient control over the muscle mass/body type. Please add those features and this is a 5 star app!!

Bad interface. This app is very difficult to use. A million icons cluttering the screen, many of which are not immediately obvious what they do, buttons are counterintuitive or placed in odd locations...I couldn’t get the arm to twist-was I doing it wrong or is it not possible? There’s a big leaning curve here. You can do a lot with this app. It will just take you forever to figure out how to do it all until you give up and just bust out an actual mannequin to draw off of.

Needs to support split screen. A truly sensational app. If only it supported split screen on the iPad Pro I’d give it 5 stars. I still have to give it 5 stars because it’s great.

Brilliant beginning. A very useful tool. It takes a bit of time to figure out how to accurately maneuver the poses. I’m a Sculptor and I simply love that I can twirl around the figure to any angle, even if the graphics are a little oversimplified. My main request would be to please, please, have a skeleton layer option under the poses!

Amazing for the price. Stick with the controls. You'll get the hang of it. I've become very proficient at posing the figure despite a few quirks in the joint controls. There's nothing else like this on iOS, and even on the Desktop this is unique, especially for the price. For a few more features I would gladly pay a bit more. Added articulation of the upper thoracic; more hand poses (or even better, posable fingers); more hair styles; the ability to export and import pose data (to get around the 20-pose limit); IK posing; more variety of body shapes and proportions; a selection of basic facial expressions (to really complete an expressive pose); better skinning at the extremes of joint position and rotation. There appears to be a minor bug. I've filled all 20 slots. When I lock my iPad and then unlock it while ArtPose is open the app reloads and all the labels in the Save To slots have disappeared. Luckily the labels and the data in the Open From slots are preserved, but I have to systematically open and again save every pose and retype the label in the proper numbered slot. This is minor and worrying, but annoying, too.

Where has this been all my life. Such a helpful tool. I've been looking for a pose reference app for ages that had all that I needed - camera, completely control of the figure, and lighting. This has it all and more. And everything works so smoothly. My only gripe is that the posing controls can be quite tricky to grasp. Also, to be able to control the camera while posing the figure would be cool too. But I'm just being picky. Highly recommended.

AMAZING WOW. AMAZING app. Bought female, was like WOAH. So I bought the male version. There's nothing like these two apps. Everyone else offers the same static poses. They're useful for learning the actual anatomical parts. BUT these two apps offer you a dynamic interactive way of learning how the anatomical parts MOVE TOGETHER. And in poses YOU WANT. Thank you for filling this much desired need in the marketplace.

Good app. It's a grate app it has helped me improve my figure drawing I just have one thing to say in the way of improvement when you move the Body it the arms will go into the body and it doesn't form around were it needs to

What I'd like to see. Hey guys, always have enjoyed the app, but there are a few things that I think would make it better. It would be great if you supported split screen multitasking for iPad Pro, so we can split screen while we are in creative softwares and reference models. Would be a great feature to have. Second, if you can make a like a hand tool on the screen so we can drag the canvas around using Apple Pencil that would be great, as well as a zoom tool. This way we don't have to touch the screen as much on devices like iPad Pro. Would be also awesome if you guys support keyboard short cuts. One main thing I would really love to see is a posable simplified manikin, check out the 3D manikin in clip studio paint. Something like that, with ways to change the body type, and a feature to overlay the figure proportions. Having a simplified posable manikin that is just made up of forms is very helpful.

Works for me.. Many people have said that this app crashes their devices, but it works just fine on my iPad mini retina. Not sure if the bugs were fixed or what, but I would definitely recommend this app to anyone learning the figure, anyone wanting to practice the figure, and anyone wanting an all around great app. Ten outa ten.

Great Reference for Illustrators. This app is great for posing characters for drawing and ideas. There are only two body types, I would love to see more body types added such heavier, more muscular, and much thinner body types. I would also like to see more hairstyles for reference as well. Great app and easy to use!

Same great functionality. I downloaded it the other day, only to be disappointed by the crash bug on startup. But it's been fixed today and the female version works just as great as the male version. Love this app, and I wish there was a Mac version!

Needs more. First, needs the ability to manually pose fingers, feet individually. Second, better posing controls.. they're quite finicky and it takes me a long time just to get the pose I want. Third.. and this one is the most important for me. More body types, different heights, shapes, busts, etc. A great example of having adjustable body types is a software known as Make Human. Great for making models. But it lacks the poses. If you could replicate make human's capabilities, this app would seriously be a true winner in my book!

Tears of joy. I've been frustrated for a while because I lacked figure drawing references that would help me in drawing without looking for images on the internet to practice on. This app is a *dream come true for me!* It should have been the first thing I looked for! Thank you! 😭

Great Virtual Model app - just like the male version.. The Female Edition is just as awesome as the Male version. Very easy to use and gives great results which I can export to Procreate. Using the iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and Procreate, I can use the exported image as a guide for my sketches. Really a wonderful set of apps (male and female versions.)

One errrr. It's missing some movement along the spinal cord and camera mode

Small chest. You can’t make her b00bs very big at all. Unfortunate because I wanted it for comic reference. Especially for anime they need to be 7 times bigger. Other than that it’s adequate. I wish there was a free version to try before having to find out after you already spent the money that she is flat.

There's nothing else like this. Bought other app, gave them a bad review and promoted this app instead in that same review. While they ripped u off, this app is so well done, with lots of thought and consideration for us, our needs, and experience. Seriously guys, thank you.

Amazing. Awesome app. Well worth it. I was able to figure out the controls in about 15 mins. Absolutely brilliant and amazing resource for artistic reference that will save me a ton of hours web searching for the perfect pose to match what I want to create. Hope they continue to develop this to include facial expressions. And maybe even add draping options for clothing.

Nice interface, however... This app has a nice interface, and great ideas, controls for shoulders, and, two controls for the neck, nice, but a few things bug me.. 1. The rig has no IK. That's frustrating for me, it makes posing slow 2. Something about the way the hips deform doesn't seem right 3. The eyes look creepy with irises like that

Easy to use. Good addition to the male version. Just what needed to replace wooden art mannequins. Quick to use, everything on one screen. Ability to create realistic poses. Good presets to begin with too. Both male and female versions inexpensive, easy and effective.

Good value. Demonicide is being a bit harsh. This and the male version are the best of these types of poseable models that I have seen, especially for the money. I wish that there was a desktop version but transferring images over is so easy these days that it is not a big issue. Go for it!

Very helpful. I have been using this app for a while as a reference for sculpting and I find it wonderful. The only reason it hasn’t received 5 stars from me is because at some poses there is a missing information regarding the shape mainly around sharp curves. In general though I think it is a great app

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Awesome program! It takes some time to get use to the posing, good thing there's lots of stock poses to choose from which were very handy. I just wish I could change the face of the model to something a less angry-looking.

Very useful. Have this app on my iPhone and iPad Pro and use it almost everyday to visualize figures for drawing. Powerful and easy to use tools like lighting and body-type sliders make this app essential for every life-drawing or comic book artist. The male version is a great companion app.

Already included in the Pro version. All the features here are included in the Pro version. I thought there would be something more. The developer fail to say it anywhere and it feels, in the end, as a trap. Since I already bought the pro version I would like to be refunded but apparently, this option fail to appear anywhere too. I put 2 stars since it is not a complete bad app, I wish the developer has more transparency.

Really useful app!. If you’re sculpting or drawing, this app will let you do what you need for a model reference in most respects. Pose, rotate 360, lighting. All well done. One request to the developers: your body has very limited shape variations, with only a slider for lean to heavy. This app would be stellar if one could change the proportions, even just upper body, mid body, or pelvic areas. The more adjustments, the better, but these basic proportional variations would really help. Because of these limitations, I do not use this as much as I certainly would. I would also be happy to pay for this ability. Thanks for an otherwise good app.

Very useful for artists!. Easy, intuitive posing. Only thing missing is the .png transparency the ArtPose (male edition) has.

Excellent reference creator!. Both editions of this app have proven to be incredibly resourceful for creating my own references. Took a bit to get the controls down, but I managed to do it via iphone6+ Would recommend to any artist wanting to create refs on the go!

Well thought out app for artists. A figure posing app that is designed by someone who knows what professional artists and illustrators NEED in an app like this! Filled with great features, easy and intuitive to use, frequent updates, and the figure’s anatomy is one of the most realistic, compared to other apps like this. Very well done.

Amazing!!!!!. This is by FAR the best app I have found for figure reference/poses. There aren't even any mannequins like this unless you get the fancy doll that's made in Japan for like $300 and then you have to get a whole light set up for more. The controls are very simple to figure out, they don't glitch and the poses are quite natural. My only suggestion so far would be to add some knuckle joints to move the fingers, unless it has that and I just haven't found it yet. This just awesome, great job!

Well designed. I’ve been using this app and the male model as my go-to pose tool for some time now. I find them both much easier than any of the others I’ve tried and I’ll be testing the two-model version now that I’ve seen it. I don’t doubt I’ll get a lot of mileage out of it too. They are just two things I’d think it would benefit from at some point to this one: a body fat toggle and a muscle toggle. What’s there now is mostly just a +/- boob/hip toggle. The male app would likewise benefit from a body-type or fat toggle, since it has muscle covered.

great app!. i really like using this app. adding a skeleton mode under the muscle would make it 5 stars for me!

Very lag. The male version is good but this version makes me very hard to setting the poses. It is very lag when I touch and drag the point. That is also affect the pose to have weird result. I love this app it's very useful for me. It will be much more appreciated if you fix this problem. Thank you!

Worthless. Crashes on opening. Complete waste of money. Don't buy it.

Couple issues but pretty good. Pros: The model is pretty good. There are a fair number of poses already. Lighting is really helpful. Full rotation with perpective. Nice variety of hand gestures. Cons: I think her cranium is a little too big when compared to her measurements. Articulation can be very tricky. If you mess up, the skin gets all twisted. The troublesome issue is the proportions. From the front, the figure is long in the torso and short in the legs. Turn her around and the torso and legs are better matched. (This is measuring from the top of the head to the crotch and from the crotch to the back of the heel.) Aesthetically, her butt is a little saggy compared to her or real female with similar athletic physique. Perhaps its just personal preference. Otherwise, its really helpful for reference and shadow. The two body types are helpful as well. Now if you can make a monster version...

Almost Perfect. I do wish the fingers were articulated, because I feel like the hand options are a bit limited, but otherwise this is the best 3D pose app I've ever used.

Great App but.... This is a great app, prior to the update. From the update notes sounds like positive additions, however the app crashes before opening every time now. iPhone 6 plus

Insane App!!! LOVE IT!. This is a spectacular app, very easy to learn and dynamic! one request... can you make kid versions :D say baby, toddler, child and tween? If you do it would make your series the absolute BEST apps!!!!

Almost the perfect anatomy app!. This, by far is the best anatomy reference app on the AppStore imo. It's much better than all of those other anatomy apps with cluttered interfaces, just use wooden mannequins, or have detailed 3d pictures/models but can't be posed. All of the features are incredibly useful for any artist however there are a few features I would suggest to make this the perfect anatomy app. -Add more body types and more body type editing options. The skinny to curvy slider is a great addition but there's more body types than that. There should be slider for adjusting age( from babies to the elderly) and fat( from a little fat to chubby, chunky and obese etc.) as well. Being able to select a specific part of the body and add/remove fat would be ideal since fat is stored differently for every individual( I've seen people with strange body types like having a fat belly but skinny neck/arms/legs and people with scrawny arms but have sausage fingers). A slider for stocky/short and tall/lanky people is needed too since not everyone has the exact same body type or build. A slider to adjust height would be welcome too. More variety is what I'm getting at. -Digit manipulation. Being able to edit the fingers/toes individually would be useful. - facial expression manipulation - proportion manipulation. Being able to adjust proportions like the length of arms/legs etc would be great for artists that use exaggerated proportions/ stylization like comic/manga artist. Simpler models/ skeleton. Adding a wireframe or model for gestures would be great.The current models are great but most artist rely on simple shapes and stick figures when sketching a character. I'd love a slider that breaks the body down into simple shapes. A skeleton and simplified skeleton is welcome as well. Also being able to share models online and transfers poses between the male & female versions of art pose without using iTunes file transfer would be ideal. Another good feature would be the ability to save 50-150+ poses. If you guys add these features the app would be just about perfect.

doesn't work. Just downloaded the current version (1.1) and it just says loading and the crashes. You need to supply support other than social media!

The wolverine of posing apps. "I'm the best I am at what I do." -- Wolverine Have tried at least 4 different apps that basically do the same thing. These are by far the most useful. Better models with more articulation and an Interface that works better than any of the other mobile apps out there. Yes, there are things that would be nice to add, but it does just what it says on the tin, and does it well.

Will Not Open. I am really enjoying Artpose so much that I bought the female edition as well. However, upon opening the app it stays on the loading screen then crashes. I am using iPad 3 with the latest update. Please fix, I am dying to create something with it.

Very useful. This is really awesome, I would totally buy another for hands because drawing hands and feet is harder than summoning a demon.

Another great app!. I got the male variant of this app and love it. These two apps are necessary for illustrators and artists. If you made one with a pose able skeleton I'd kiss you.

Like ArtPose, Female edition first rate. When I can't get to a live model to draw, reverting to photos is next source. But having this 3-D modeling is far better to use for figurative drawing. It's been a great help and fun to use.
